"Could <Speech_Male> <Silence> <Speech_Music_Male> be canceled <Speech_Male> anytime any <Speech_Male> minute. <Speech_Male> That's what happened to Susie <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> and I, with <Speech_Male> our three kids flying <Speech_Male> them east <Speech_Male> for summer <Speech_Male> camp, my <Speech_Male> birthday. That's how <Speech_Male> it got started. I <Speech_Male> woke up on my birthday <Speech_Male> at four in the morning. <Speech_Male> Susie's on a phone. <Speech_Male> And I'm like, what the hell <Speech_Male> is happening? She's like, I <Silence> fly got canceled. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> So kittle, <Speech_Male> you know, and when you're <Speech_Male> rebooked, you're not <Speech_Male> if you're lucky <Speech_Male> to be in the first <Speech_Male> cabin, you're <Speech_Male> not getting rebooked there. Everything's <Speech_Male> all tight. <Speech_Male> There's many reasons <Speech_Male> why. The George is also <Speech_Male> a man of the people, <Speech_Male> or he wanted <Speech_Male> to terrorize <Speech_Male> those in seats <Speech_Male> 19 seeing <Speech_Male> anybody saying, I'm taking <Speech_Male> both armrests. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> 'cause of a <Speech_Male> guy like that. What do you <Speech_Male> mean? Oh, that's right. <Speech_Male> Remember <Speech_Male> this brodman? <Speech_Male> His overhead story? <Speech_Male> I tore <Speech_Male> my rotator <Speech_Male> cuff because I had a <Speech_Male> big guy next <Speech_Male> to me and I had to <Speech_Male> hold my shoulder like <Speech_Male> this for <Speech_Male> 5 and a half hours. <Speech_Male> What are you talking about? <Speech_Male> My arm, I threw <Speech_Male> my arm out. I <Speech_Male> swear to God. Because you didn't <Speech_Male> get the arms because it was too <Speech_Male> big of a guy. He was <Speech_Male> in the middle seat. I gave <Speech_Male> him the arm rest because he <Speech_Male> was gigantic. <Speech_Male> Yeah. <Speech_Male> And I had to <Speech_Male> keep my arm forward <Speech_Male> like this the whole time when <Speech_Male> I got, it <Speech_Male> still hurts to this day. <Speech_Male> I taught you <Speech_Male> her charm when you <Speech_Music_Male> own that flight, <Speech_Music_Male> you helped pull the ladies <Speech_Male> back. That's <Speech_Male> another one. And you <Speech_Male> said, that was the <Speech_Male> real women. So <Speech_Music_Male> you turn your rotator <Speech_Music_Male> cuff just sit down. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> The way this man sits, <Speech_Male> he sits <Speech_Music_Male> with conviction. <Speech_Music_Male> What do you say? <Laughter> By the way. <Speech_Music_Male> By the way, everybody. <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> I'm sorry. <Speech_Male> He says it hurts <Speech_Male> today. It hurts <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> till now. <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> Yeah, the overhead, <Speech_Music_Male> you're like, no, I just <Speech_Male> sit next to him. <Speech_Male> How long ago <Speech_Male> was this flight? Oh, <Speech_Male> this is <SpeakerChange> like four or <Speech_Music_Male> 5 years ago. <Speech_Music_Male> <Advertisement> And <Speech_Music_Male> it's still hurts. <Laughter> <Laughter> <Speech_Music_Male> Half a decade. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Half a decade <Speech_Male> of pain, <Speech_Male> born out of, <Speech_Male> just sitting out of positioning. <Speech_Male> With a <Speech_Male> larger man <Speech_Male> in the middle. <Speech_Male> He should not have been <Speech_Male> aware of the shit <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> in the seat. <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> And the woman on <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> the other side wanted to <Speech_Male> keep up to go to the camp <Speech_Music_Male> and were like, <Speech_Music_Male> let's throw this guy off the plane. <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> It was terrible. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Laughter> <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Music_Male> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <Laughter> <Advertisement> <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> It's so hard <Speech_Male> next time. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Thank you, George <Speech_Male> kittle. <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> Wow. "See holding Eli sees grasping. That's what he sees. I see the greatest play ever. That's right. As a giant fan. I was sitting right there. I was there in the building. That's it. I love that holding. You didn't block anywhere. You don't block anybody. YouTube dot com slash Richards and show for our full archive or show archive. Oh, baby. That's fun interview right there with naji Harris, right? That was great. All right, and so this has kind of been like a running theme throughout today's show. Thanks to George kittle being in a seat 19 D on a flight saying that he was in the middle seat of an exit row and somebody next to him put two bags above. And what were thoughts on that? I thought to myself if you're on and you got two bags in their space, take it. Take it. I was flying back from, I just fly back from Romeo day. You went to Italy? Yeah. Did you eat? I got on, I got on first. First. Yeah. That's not one egg. That was group one. I was group one. Close enough. Let's group along with about a bunch of 30, 40 other people. But we got on first. And I got to my overhead bin and there was some huge monster bag in it. Like some golf ball, I mean, what do you call it? The hockey bags. No, no, no. It was like a shopping bag filled with what looked like a pillow or something or something. It was huge. It was like this big. It was this big, it took up the entire overhead bin space. And I was outraged. I got on first so I could use the binge space above my, somebody used my benchmark. I look around. Where's the human being? What the hell is this? That's even worse. The audacity. So again, that person doesn't sit in the seat underneath the overhead bin and used it. Doggy dog world, man. It is. I'm fine with having etiquette and I'll take only one bag and place it in my overhead bin and that'll be that alone. That's the only space I will have, and I will not recline my seat even though the button gives me the right to recline my seat because it might upset the large individual in the seat behind me. I will play by those rules until somebody doesn't. And then it breaks down all the civility breaks down. If you want to sign a document to say all this stuff, I'm in. Otherwise, I'm putting as much as I could above my seat. Get yours, man. That's it. I'm sitting with my chest. Get yours. So then George kettle called me diabolical for that stance. You did. And so then you then, because again, he said that he's in the middle seat of an exit row in 19 D, which once again, before we hash this out. That must be, that's a two three. That's a two on one side and a three on the other. You're not in delta that comfort. Right? Unless it's a two three two three two three two and you're in the middle of the middle seat of the middle. We're in between C and E. That's exactly the New York for the Emmys. That's how the plan between C and E, which is the way, unfortunately, might come out roll always isn't craps. When I'm on the scene, you know what I'm saying? What am I talking about? I don't know, I don't know. So then I hit up George. I was like, hey, George, do you recline? And if you're in the middle seat, what's the armrest move? And did he respond in the reclining? He did not respond in the reclining. He just wrote back middle seat gets both armrests. Yeah. We've all agreed on that. Some people do not. That's some people do not. The first come first. Could you imagine all I'm saying is let's just say you have Chris brockman, seat C, in a three seat row situation. D is the middle seat. You're in Rosie. You sit there first. You stake your claim. Left elbow right elbow. You got it, because you also know you can't take the up. You got to get the back. Right? Because that allows you to sit up and certainly when you recline. Right. Could you imagine the person who would try and battle you for that armrest? To your right? Is George kittle? You let him have it. Damn straight you do that. You lose your job. You're done. That's a lot. That's like the bull in the China shop. The hell right there. You know what I mean? Could you imagine George kittle as the guy sitting in the middle seat with the stance of I get both armrests? You're done. You're finished. You're done. You got no shot. You may not even get the front. You might even get the up. You're going to we also need to find out why George is in 19 D yeah, why? What's the big deal? Speaking of which, you know what's going crazy right now on Twitter is Scott Boris telling USA Today that the latest slight Soto had is the nationals flew him commercial a Major League Baseball flew him commercial across the country for the home run. International baseball, his team, not the league. After he declined the four 40. They made them get his any landed at one 30 in the morning and he still won the home run Derby. And everything happened to that he was like, the braves got the braves. Somebody flew that the braves fly private. They flew their charters to the a's all star was going to have to fight commercial and then Astros found out about it and he hopped on their jet. Yeah, you got room. Boris is like, that's the latest slight by my client is they will not fly him private. Guess what? If I'm trying to pay you $440 million and you say no, I am buying you a commercial airline ticket. On the spot. Back of the plane 38. Come on, want to sell those and probably sitting in 19 D no. Bathroom. Because there was a last minute booking, obviously. Last minute. Anybody, you're flying soon again, right? Aren't you flying against him? You're flying again soon? Right now with airline travel? Your flight

"What we call it is. Next on the rich eisen show. When was the last time you did watch a football game with Peyton, just you and him, when was the last time that happened? You like? You know, I was thinking about that earlier, just kind of when's the last time it would have been like, you know, my brothers Payton coop and my dad sitting on sitting at home watching watching a football game. I think it's got to be 30 years ago. At least, I can't think of a time where we would have been together. We've been at some super bowls together. But Payton was playing or I was playing. I think it goes back to probably when coupe and Pete were in high school at some point. And I was ten years old and watching, you know, watching the saints game or watching the Sunday Night game or something on the couch. And it's been a long, long time. When you see the video of you throwing to Tyree, okay? What do you think of when you see that? I just my, I'm just thankful. Thankful for David Tyree, man. There's not a better person and a guy who just, you know, who had the worst week of practice in the history of all practices of that Friday and dropped every passion. Thought he was going to be the starting receiver and then taxco comes back and plays that game and then sure enough in the game, David Tyree has a touchdown catch and then makes the catch. You know, Rodney Harrison hanging all over him. Bob pop had given the call saying, you know, you've got a wide open receiver and I guess that's why it opened and then NFL and David Tyree just the will, the desire was there in this sketching off the helmet just what unbelievable story and never get tired of watching that playlist. All right, well Chris brockman, my on air compadre here. What do you tell him? Go ahead, tell him what you say every time. Now that he's here, you can say it to his face. Go ahead, Chris. Well usually the shot O'Hara because Sean is here. There were 14 different holdings on there. You see he's holding. What do you say to that? Holding. Yeah. How can you have holidays? They didn't block anybody. It's like, all right. You know what? Let them run in. Alice gets sat by four all four players. You know, they kind of just blocked them off. I think I really holding it. The guy's holding me like a defensive player is holding me. I think you're allowed to do whatever you want. Right. To the cash rusher at that point. If I'm in the grass, they could just grab them also and pull them off. It's kind of a, it's kind of free range at that point. At the moment. I agree, Chris, you

"So for me, for the 92 minute top ten, I was like, oh man. Well, here we are. Like I said, just play the game, kids. That's it. Just play the game kids. 2022 is going to be lit. And it seems like you got a lot of reasons to do it because you got to prove them wrong. You got to prove them everyone what the Steelers can do. And you've got to plant the flag and acquisition stadium on behalf of on behalf of all steel France. How does that sound? Naji Harris, how does that sound? Okay. You got to do a lot. Thanks for the time. Let's do this more often. I really enjoyed it. Thanks again. You'd be well. You guys be safe. You got to go right back at you. Oh, God. How great is it? I'm a Nazi Harris fan, man. All right? Why wouldn't you be? How could you not be? How'd you hear us in 85 overall? 25. I'm looking at 83, right? Between cordell Patterson and David Montgomery. What? Yeah. See, I'm looking at them in these 83 between Montgomery and Carson. You got overall or is that specific, I would say. I was doing overall. I wasn't going to say this. Who's the guy who was the one guy said that we had to come out of our fantasy draft. Last year. No wasn't Raheem mostert. He was him. And you did. We got him. Oh, we got him. We had a good team last year. That's the one guy. I'm like, you've got to leave the draft with The Rookie. 307 carries. I know Andrei said, how many touches are you going to get? He said 500 carries. I hope he doesn't get 500. You know, he's not going to get your career. But I want him around for a minute. Yeah. A 119 more and he'd had 500 touches. I broke a lot of GD tackles. Oh my goodness. What do you say savings were weak acid? He's an old man. He's talking about baby's bottoms. He was working a little blue. I liked it. He might be a new top ten guest. Nick Saban is 70. I think that's old. And that's not even that old. I know. Like Tom wants 50. Obviously a difference. Never say never, but never. She got the ravens and Lamar and you got the defending AFC champs and Joey, right? You got whatever the browns are going to do. You know, and you're starting to see rumors that maybe Jimmy G shows up in Cleveland. Like that might be a situation where he goes there and he's part of the mix if Jacoby brisset doesn't perform well or he's there to back up, I wouldn't do that. You may have no choice. But you got that whole scenario. Everybody focused on those three teams and nobody talks about the Steelers. Nobody. Now that I was given Derek Carr crap earlier in the show saying nobody's talking about us and that's all I've been doing for the last two months and nothing upsets me more than not being listened to in my household that would normally get your iPad taken away from you. But truly, I mean, who's out there saying steelers have a shot? Who's out there saying steelers have a shot? I've heard anybody say that. No. It's not. We're not slagging on anything. It's just the reality of the situation. They've never had a loser. They've never had a losing record under their car and head coach. Never. So let's just start at 9 and 8, right? Let's just start at 9 and 8. That's an interesting way to look at it here. And see how many more games they can win off of that. And it's a quarterback driven league. The question is, who's the quarterback going to be? No, I'm not starting at 9 and 8. I'll rain down my judgment and we'll move forward. What do you think they're going to finally have a losing record under Mike Tomlin? You don't have to. I mean, everyone's zero and zero. I understand that, but you're going to starting a guy that pretty famously flamed out of one spot, and then was a backup. Trubisky. Or they're starting a rookie. So, you know, the odds are not in their favor. Unless The Rookie is good, which happens and actually happened the last time they drafted a rookie in the first round. 20 years ago. Right? I don't know. I'm just. Yours looks pretty damn good last year under the system that was a strong otherwise. Yes, no? Yeah. Okay. And it came after a year where the quarterback wasn't so great. I don't know. Bigger mystery. Tougher division. Bigger mystery. Steelers success for the season, or where their ketchup bottles went. I'm really concerned about the ketchup. Where are the ketchup bottles? Yeah. Good morning. The ketchup bottles are somewhere on the south side right now. Chilling. Where are the Heinz ketchup bottles that were taken down? Where were they taken to? I need answers. I want answers. And I handled the truth. I can't handle a trade with Henry. You can't handle. We tackle the toughest issues. Factual. And we break tackles. We break down. We break a lot of GD tackles. How great was naji Harris? Oh, my God, that was fantastic. Brexit embarrassed is fun when his phone was incredible. It was great. And now George kittle has responded about the middle seat. Let's take a break. That's

"Business. No matter what, man, he gonna strictly business. And it's cool, you know, that's just the way of coaching he went, find a way to win. He does that. My tea is, you know, he gets to know you more. He's like more of a, let's say, a people's person. He would come and locker and crack jokes, you know, he was gonna live and do some stuff, you know what I mean? And then he finds a way of winning too. That's only similarities they have. They like what they have a net of winning. But how they win it and their formula is completely different, but they do know how to win. And I'll tell you that much. So you say, Sabin never made a D's nuts joke to you? Not once? Dodgy? That's a weak ass joke like that. I didn't find it at that point. You know, I mean, sources old ass. You know, he would say he said something like, you know, not here is lucky, he's always like, okay, well, whatever. I mean, I was like, whatever though. But you know, safe and dude, you know, savings obviously, he knew we saved some good jobs, but he just so damn old, not respecting him like he'd be saying like, oh, you're soft then the baby's ass. I'd be like, bro, what is that? I don't even know what the hell that means, but the exorcist, whatever though, you know what I mean? Like, cool. You know? But Saban has this moment. He has a moment. I'll take you there. I'll say that. Okay, we had this moment. He's a funny ass dude. You got a good Tomlin joke that you can share that. As too many jokes that Tom would be saying. Tom was actually funny. And I mean, he actually, I guess he's more of a hip, you know, he's a big age difference, I'll say. Of course. So he knows, he's a little bit more newer schooled with the jokes. He's not some old stuff that saved me then. Well, I mean Tom. Tomlin's response to the whole USC thing last year, if he was interested in it, Mike del tofo is one of our favorite drops right here when somebody asked him if there was any chance of him being the head coach of the USC Trojans and never say never, but never. That's hilarious. I mean, that's next level right there. Hey, to be honest with you, I think that was one time when he was really serious. That's true, too, yes. I don't think that was, I think he was dead at 6 years. And he was actually kind of mad, too. Oh, yes. He is. Naji Harris here on the rich eisen show. Before I let you go, I don't know what might be bigger that ketchup bottle that was taken down with a sombrero you were rocking during draft week. That seemed like a whole blast for you down in Mexico. Naji. Yeah, man. That was hella fun, man. I had a good time in Mexico. But just our culture look at that. Man, I want to do more. I wanted to wrestle because they had a wrestling thing going on. It was like, I swear to God, I went to go out the ropes and like, you know what I mean? Be like a DDT or a 6 one, some stuff like that, like a random that Randy Orton thing. RKO. Yeah, there it is. But I had hella security with me, so I was like, no, no, no, no, no, you don't want to go down there. No, no, no Jay libre.

"After the accuracy. I don't even know how to say the name, but last aperture field, whatever you say. I think you nailed it. I think it is. I'm not sure. I'm accurate sure. How does that sound? I would call it an acne at first. I'm going to put a statue of coyote. Acme stadium. Oh my gosh. You know what I mean? Exactly. The memories that were there are still there. It's still the same building. It's just a different name. And now you could just create maybe you're going to be the first carry first score in the history of a share stadium. I think that might be it. That would be yeah, that would be dope because, you know, I was the first, I was the last person to score a touchdown at Heinz. Early that was to be the first person to score at active share, you know? But, you know, we'll see what all that. Well, I mean, the odds are you're going to get some touches. So you mentioned, I've got naji Harris here in the Richards. You mentioned new quarterback. Do you have any sense who that quarterback may be? Not yours. I'm just a player. I'm not the coach. I don't know anything about that. I'm trying to learn, learn to often still learn different positions, learn more of ins and out offense. I think we can leave that up to coach Canada and Mike T for all that stuff. But I can tell you what though, you know, all the guys that we have there, you know, they all look good, trubisky, mason, and of course, candy, all of them look good. They're all battling it out. They're all taking charge. They're all, they all embracing of what it is. You know, the competition. I think that's what brings the best out of all of us in this sport is a competition. So for them to bring in these guys and to compete it out and battle it out and know that your job is a security. I think that brings the best out of us and when this camp starts up on the 26th, I think we're going to have a good idea of who's going to be the guy, but as of now, you know, we just had OTAs recommending camp it's kind of hard to say, who's the guy right now, but, you know, this upcoming week, we're going to see for sure. Well, I mean, that's the way things will shake out with a competition. And it's going to be, it's going to be intense. Tomlin would not want it any other way, obviously. How are you different though? Walking into this training camp, your second year now. How are you different now? Yeah, man, you know, allow us placed on me last year. And I like that. You know, like I said, you know, a competition between the best of us. So a lot was placed on me last year after the fact that, you know, we all knew this was last year. So, you know, a lot Ben told me a lot of times, came in a room a lot, you know, told me a lot's going to rely on you this year. I'm about to lean on you a lot. So, you know, I took that, I took that from my head up and I was like, all right, I'm doing as much as I can for this team. I did the best I can. We made it to the playoffs. So that's always good, but the way we want to. But this year, you know, I learned a lot from last year. We had a lot of rookies playing last year where they had a lot of young guys on offense. We still do got a lot of young guys, but the experience that we had last year and we bring it on from this year, you know, the games that were in, you know, the difference between college and NFL, the speed, you know, learning X's and O's learning the differences of the alignments and what the defect is seeing in certain type of things. And I think that all carries on to this year to find out why what's our identity like for naji, what is now you have to be for this team, I'm trying to be everything I can for it to be a problem for the opposing teams defense. So they can look at me a lot and maybe pack the box up and we can get a lot of one on ones with Chase Deontay pat and other guys, you know, with Dan and KG and jukes, you know, all the guys, you know, they got more experience carrying on this year. So, you know, Dan, I don't think he gets enough recognition of what he did at left tackle going against all the guys. I mean, in our league, you know, all the edge rushers we had last year. He stood his own. So, you know, I always took my hand off to him, but even carrying on it this year, I think he's going to have a lot of he's going to do a lot better than what was last year. You know, me just learning the ins and outs of the protections, the routes, the runs, I mean, me being more vocal leader. I think that I was on carry on this year. 381 touches last year. You're going to get 400 this year. What do you think? Total. I'll get 500. Hey, listen. You know what I mean? It was immediately. I told them every game. I was like, man, look, if this is the way the winning, I can carry the load, you know, I trained to carry loads, you know what I mean? It's not, it's not something that I haven't done before. I didn't in college, high school, you know what I mean, the NFL, so for me to get that much care because I was like, man, as we win in games, you know what I mean? It was a long streak where it was someone saying, like, I have 25 carries then we're undefeated. I mean, so okay, this is our identity right here. So let's keep this going on. Let's keep this going. So man, listen, if I get 500 carries, as long as we went in and it doesn't really matter. Is that an Alabama thing? Is that what it is? Is that what that is? I think it's a naughty thing. Okay. Just saying, I mean, you know, obviously Derek Henry's a guy that keeps on hitting people over and over and over again. It doesn't matter, get stronger. I just didn't know. But I didn't mean to. Yeah, man. Yeah, so somewhere in the back, you know, the more cares you get. That's a better you are. You know, you get a more feel for the game. You get an understanding of how demons are playing. So and obviously, you wear them down. So, you know, I guess it's just a dog mentality, right? Now your dog could do that. Naji Harris here on the rich eisen show. Any similarities between Sabin and Tomlin? In your estimation? No. No. No. As a quick note. No. Nope. Well, I mean, I'll tell you what, Satan is a more like, you know, how to save

"The T. Rex. Hold that bottle. A T. Rex. 38. It's got to be the same size as that ketchup bottle. Look at that thing. No, that's a T. Rex sized bottle. T rexes are only 12 feet high. No, jeez. How? The house way. There you go. Now, 40 feet long with the tail. Oh yeah, it's 12 feet high. Oh, see those little hints? So they catch a bottle's gotta be 20 feet. So you're saying that the T. Rex is the Kenny Pickett of dinosaurs. Wow. Wow. Wow. What happened to the bottle? That's the only one here. Wow. Back here on the rich eyes that show terrestrial radio now. Naji Harris doesn't know what's happening. But joining us right now on the rich Eisenhower Mercedes Benz van's phone line is the man who totes The Rock and catches The Rock. He is the guy. I told you last year the Steelers should draft him because he is a total total throwback to what this team is all about and needing an identity on offense and certainly now with Big Ben moving on. This is the identity maker on offense, joining us on the Mercedes Benz Vance phone line from the Pittsburgh Steelers is naji Harris. How are you doing naji? What's up man, thanks for having me. Do you know what's happened to the ketchup bottles that have been taken down at harness field? Let's just jump right into it. Do you know what happened when they catch a bottle? Do you know what anything about anything about that at all? No, actually, I just saw a video about the edge straight over. I mean, I didn't surprise me. I played there once I played there in my last year. I mean, that was my first year there. So we see that the Heinz ketchup bottle. What was dope? But now it's here to take it off. It's just a new beginning. That's all it is. It is. It is, you know, people are freaking out in Pittsburgh about this name change, right? You know that, right? People freaking. Yeah, it's a big deal right now, but you know, at the end of the day, money talks, I guess, right? How about this though? How about this? You, naji Harris, have enough responsibility already on your shoulders. I got it, but you are the one who's going to take it upon yourself to create new memories and start new memories and accurate stadium. What do you think about that? How about that? Exactly. You know, that's what and that's what I like. Like I said, it's new beginnings. You know, we're building our identity this year. We're trying to start over. We like I said, you got a new quarterback. So it's a lot of changes going around. A lot of guys with higher last year that we didn't expect. So I think this is just an all out just a new beginning of the Pittsburgh Steelers and what we're about this year. So for me to be a part of it is always a good thing and to create some good memories

"No, I mean, the NFL, before you win games, you have to keep from losing them. And I think every game is a different story. So each game is a fresh start. You see, I mean, records don't really, there's not many people running the table going undefeated in the regular season for a reason. It's because the NFL game by game anything can happen and it really doesn't bother me one bit, I honestly, but besides the first four, I couldn't tell you the rest of our schedule. That was the first time that I really heard it verbally other than seeing it the first day. That's just not in our concern. We have to we have a lot to do before we get to worrying about the other teams right now. And I think that's where the focus is heading into camp here. Before I let you go, you got a good sauce gardener story for me so far. Anything? In the first couple of weeks? No, not yet, not yet. Okay. I will. There's no doubt I will have stories about all these rookies here in the next couple of months. They're going to be carrying your bags. Is that what it is or what are you talking about? Just because, you know, OTAs that come in midway kind of. They're fresh. And so you give them a little breathing room, but now camps a little different. You're with them 7 days a week, almost about 16 hours a day or so, NFLPA will call me after that one. Look out, we don't need that. We don't need that. I will. Should we talk and playoffs or what? Are we talking playoffs or what? Come on now. Braxton. We look, we have a lot to do. Like I just said. We have all the tools to be able to do that. Absolutely. And that's I mean, that is if we don't get there, obviously, it's a failed season to everybody in the building, especially as players. This is in a league or a sport where you can take rebuilding years and people are okay with that in the building. It's just not the shelf life of every single one of us is not as long as probably most other sports if not all other the major professional sports. So we're absolutely looking to go to the playoffs. That is the hope that's the goal and we're going to do everything in our power to make it happen. I love it. All right, look for my number calling you more often. Not just because I enjoyed this conversation and I'm excited for the season, but I definitely need the BB ten system I need it. I can't use it. Again, I don't know what the Madden people are thinking. I think they've lost their minds, but whatever the BB ten system is, I'm on it. B two ten, however you want to call it, I'm on it. Thanks for the call. Appreciate it, brother. Absolutely. Thanks for having me on. You got to thank that's Braxton barrios, everybody. Should have been outside the whole time. Sounds like he was sitting this great. Yeah. Great reception. Glad to be working that out. No, Chris, normally he's got to go get the vets like donuts and stuff. Women getting him chicken breasts in the morning, he ain't eating donuts. Braxton's never had a donut in his entire life. Quinoa. Yeah. Notice? On a quinoa. Hey Gary, go bring me back some quinoa. Got a kale. Garret, you know where the florum park arowana is? Some good restaurants. There's a great Italian restaurant in Florida. Max and Barry has definitely has $19 smoothies from erewhon. That's a brocklin spot, man. He loves heroin. I like to say wait a minute. What? Who likes to shop at Erwin? That's true. It's a great time. I think our next guest is calling in right now. Naji Harris. On time. Oh, yes. I'm not sure he's next on acro shore. Here we go. Wow. We only touch upon the burning questions here on the rich eisen show. And I've literally been thinking about this for 48 hours, and I need to know the answer to this question. What is happening? What has happened to the ketchup bottles? They took down from Huntsville. Where is this monster sized ketchup bottle going to wind up? I hope they do not destroy it. This should be in some museum. They can put it at the airport. That's right. You just down the hall from the Mr. Rogers. Yes. Shrine. It's a perfect spot for it. Well, it won't fit in the airport. It will not because that's a large. That is a monster size. Put that there. I mean, this is a ketchup bottle that's been in, May it rest in peace? Heinz field, for a long time. I mean, that ketchup bottle is seen a lot of steeler memories. Okay? That just as a fresh reminder to steeler fans, you still have those. Those are yours to keep. No one can ever take that away from you. No one from Accra or their or their actuarial department or whatever the hell they do, honestly. I still look at their own companies own description of what they do. I still don't know what they do. Know what that means. You know what they do? They take ketchup bottles down. That's what they do. But where's that going? Designs have, is there like the Heinz problem? Behind the scenes? I don't know. Is there a spot? No, no. Is there a spot like a cafeteria on the Heinz campus? But how would they get it in there? There's a T. Rex. Pittsburgh. In the airport. There's room. There's room for the bottles. Yeah. How many times? How many times are you going to make a T. Rex extinct? Come on, give this give the dinosaur a break. He's been a 100 million. There's room. Yeah, when I said there's no Franco, there's not half down the escalator. Put it in the hand. The little hand. T. Rex. The T. Rex. Just

"He can. And we'll take care of the rest. All right. You're cutting in and out of me again, Braxton. It's kind of like the way you return kicks, you know? I mean, I just need to just, if you're in a bad spot with your phone, but it's all good. Best we can here on the rich eisen show. Can you hear me, Brexit? Are you there? I can't. Back off of there and get Chris. Here we go. I'm enjoying the chat. I'd like to know more. Okay, I don't know what's going on, but shall see if we can get it done one more time here or whatever. Hey, everybody. It got bad reception. Oh my gosh. This is your favorite interview of the day. I was looking forward to this one more than more than most. All right, we could just, if it's no good, Chris, we could just do it another time. Oh, God, okay. All right, so 8 four four two O four, which being the number to dial here on the rich eisen show. Let's take one more here. Let's take a phone call here while we're waiting to see if Brexit is going to be working out on the rich eisen show. Let's go to win in Durham, North Carolina. What's up with? Good morning, rich and gentlemen. Yes. The All-Star Game is the time to kind of review the state of baseball to season and where we are. So there is a narrative that's out there that's still out there that offense in baseball, particularly like the Yankees and Dodgers and so forth is about three things. Get a home run, strike out or walk. And that is a false narrative. And that's still being put out there by the likes of the guy that's on the for you. On this network. Peacocks. The Yankees are where they are today. I listen to the Yankees or watch them almost every game that season. They play small ball. They hit and run. They bunt, they steal, Giancarlo Stanton, the great home run hitter. He had some of the gap when necessary. You know, they're where they are because they have abandoned the accounting base logic of hit a home run strikeout or walk. And I'm just I'm tired of the false narrative continuing. And I hope baseball is the greatest game in the world. It is a hallowed game. It is just so much better for kids, and adults. Well, I'm with you too. I'm with you too, and thanks for the call. I do love the sport. I just got to push back in terms of. A false narrative. It's Joey, Joey gala walks around. He walks, he walks around. Human strikeout or human home run. I mean, that's like a third of the team like that. All right, Braxton barris. Are you there Braxton? Are you there? We're going to try one more time. Oh, it sounds like you're sitting next to me. It really does sound like it's anything. All right, so you're going to walk me through again, because I asked you how Zach Wilson looks different to you in any way, shape or form. If you don't mind. Yeah, I don't know. When I lost you, but the growth from year one to year two is very, very apparent. Last year, I have to get drafted, you come into OTAs and you just got drafted, you have a whole new system, Brandon teammates, new city, and obviously it can be a little overwhelming. And then you look fast forward to this year. This OTAs and it's a different world from everything slowed down. He had a whole year under his belt. He got to re collect and calibrate and he's going into a season where he knows the offense. He knows the coaching staff. He knows most of his personnel through and through and that just it does a lot for him. Well, I mean, here we go. I mean, I didn't see this photograph where you have a Zach Wilson is good shirt and he's got a Braxton barrios is good. I like it. I like it. My only suggestion for you is I think yours is just a little bit too large as you get it nice and tired of those biceps show a little bit better if you've got a little tighter shirt. Maybe that maybe that would make the difference. Maybe that, you know what? We got an idea. But I was just sitting here thinking, obviously you had Corey Davis, you got Elijah Moore. You add to this mix and you. And then you add to this mix Garrett Wilson, and I know I'm leaving out others in your wide receiver room. So I apologize for that. You add a couple new tight ends. You got breeze hall, you got Michael Carter. You've got the rest of that running back room. It's good, man. You can go to battle. You can win games with this mix of people. There's no doubt about it. You can be physical. You could be quick. You could do a lot and again, it's just really, it's a quarterback driven league. And if the kid can get protected, it gets me all really fired up. I'm wondering what you could say it all looks like when you're putting it all together for the first time here. For the judge. And that's what we have to do. We have to we have to figure out what our best combinations are and be ready to go to war with those. And Zack needs to do everything under his power from just a game management standpoint and we have to do the rest. I understand why you say it's a quarterback driven league, but we don't need him to be Supernatural every game to win. We all have to carry our weight too. And it really does fall on all of us. And like I said, you know, our top to bottom has given us every piece we need to go into battle and have everything we need to win those games. And we just as a team, we have to go put it together. I know you can't control it. The schedule frightens me. I'm not going to lie, man. That first half of the schedule, it's stupid. I mean, first of all, it's like you joined the AFC north to start, like you literally are the 5th AFC north team. You play the entire division to start, then you get yourself a taste of Miami. That's your first shot at the division. Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, the Patriots, the bills and a buy. And that concerns me. I'm wondering what you think. Braxton barrios?

"Rich eisen show. I remember one. She killed Barrett joined us from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And he called in the middle of a pedicure he was having with his wife. But for him. Okay. Now the proper segue or improper segue speaking of feet, let's talk about the jets. Naji Harris is going to be joining us shortly with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He could have the first carry in the history of a Christchurch stadium. The big moment. He could score the first touchdown in aqua shirt stadium in Pittsburgh PA. But as you know, I'm a jet guy. You know that, right? The New York jet guy. And I said, it's all sauce gardener at the comment. I'm like, I want, that's the guy I want. And then they get that guy and they get carried Wilson. And Jermaine Johnson and Brie's hall as well. What a drag. Get out of here. No excuses now. Stop it. No, there's still a young team. I love the coach. I love the general manager. I love the team. And then I love the heart of this gentleman. Despite awful rating, the Madden folks gave his strength. How dare they do this to an all pro individual. Joining us from the New York Jets, we're looking at his Instagram on the screen right here. That doesn't look like a man who's got a problem with strength at all. Joining us here from the New York Jets and all pro and pro bowler Braxton barrios joining us here on the program. How are you doing Braxton? Wow, what an intro. What do you think? How are you guys doing? What do you think of that intro? Hey, for the rest of the show now. You set me up well. I think you give that intro a 99 for strength, wouldn't you? I would give it a 99 in all categories. Okay, so what's up with that rating Braxton? What the hell was that all about? 53. I couldn't tell you. I mean, it's comical, obviously. I don't truly, truly care. But every year, it's kind of a running thing in my family. Because I've little brother. 7, ten and 12. Okay. So they call when it comes out. And they just don't understand it. And neither do I, I mean, everything's relative, right? I get it. We have absolute 6 four, 280 pound NFL. But unless they're squatting a thousand pounds, you know, relatively, it should be above a 53, is all I'm saying. I don't need a 75. I get that. I'm very, very honest about who I am and what I am. But it's just disrespectful. Braxton wants some respect on his name. Yes, we should put it on that name. Oh, I think you lost him right there. Do you want to put him back on hold right there? I just lost him right there. And let's see what we can do. It's like respect me. Put some respect on my wrist. Respect. Oh my gosh. You're put that Instagram feed up one more time there. Will you please? Well, look at this dude. Honestly. He makes me feel bad about some of the choices I made in life. Like all the pizza that I eat. My goodness. And I look like that, occasionally. Do we got them right now? They're Braxton? Yeah. Okay, there you go. We had problems. Yeah, we had problems. We had problems. We had 99 problems. They didn't like it. Dan, what do you eat, man? It looks like, I mean, you're locked in, Braxton. Abs have abs. Absolutely. What the hell? What's that system? What is that? It varies from time to time, but off season is, I think, is a little bit more strict than in season and season. I think you kind of eat whatever and whenever, because you're constantly broken down trying to build it back up. But obviously, you have that time to plan to get something together. And it's a little bit consistency. And you keep working. And it happens, I guess. I guess so, man, Braxton barrios here on the rich eisen show from the jets. All right, man, I'm not gonna lie. I'm very excited. By the way, I don't know if you're aware I'm a jet fan. I don't know if you're aware of that Braxton berries. I heard, I heard. I'm from Staten Island, New York. I mean, I was there. I went to Shea stadium when Richard Todd was a quarterback Freeman McNeil. Alto and way back. Wesley walker, I mean, I could bend your ear, man. And I've been there and I've done that. Two years into my SportsCenter career back in 1997, 98. I went to the AFC championship game, I sat two rows from the top of the stadium and my Wesley walker Jersey. I'm real. I'm real. I'm so I'm just saying, is I'm real. I'm spectacular and I'm freaking out because it doesn't compute that things seem to be going in the right direction. Walk me through this. What's the feeling in the building right now for this team? Braxton Barrett. We have the same sentiment. Love it, truly. I hate I hate hype and I also hate talk. So I'm not going to sit here and do those two things, but what we have is we've grown a lot from being extremely young team last year, got a lot of experience, obviously, across the board. And then having all those young guys grow up a year and then we added some very key pieces this off season between the draft and free agency. So we fully understand that we have everything that we truly need and now it's just about going and executing consistently within the system. And so what was it like on draft night for you watching those guys come in on that first round and then Bruce hall the next day? Was that like for you? It was awesome. I was actually in Vegas. So yeah, I actually was in the green room, but another right there at the draft. And watching all these things happen. And then obviously, we had four and ten and then we traded up and had a third first round draft pick and we obviously did the sentiment around the building and obviously it doesn't seem as well is we crushed it. They did upstairs in an incredible job. And like I said, they gave us all the tools and all the pieces we need and we just hope to keep that momentum going as we enter camp here and make it into tangible wins instead of good things that happened in the off season. Well, you know, the drill it's a quarterback driven league. How does the QB look different to you in any way, shape, or form, Braxton barrios? What's going on there? What have you got for me? You know, obviously he had a full year of experience. I mean, I can't imagine getting thrown into the fire. Like he did, my rookie year. He handled incredibly well, I mean, it's been with him every single day and obviously he had a little injury there, midway through the year and then when he came back on that back half, he seemed to be a lot more comfortable and had to settle in a little bit. And so at all that from that. TAs and he does. They got to pop them back. And he did. Yeah, they're completely different. And.

"They had they would have had the ball back and the right exactly and with another opportunity to win the game. That's terrible cole. But at the same time though you know. I know i know that joe. Baroque gotten the ball back at won that game. But they were losing at that. Point to the jets that interception. It already happened at terrible interception. Joe borough mike white had already thrown for a gazillion yards and a bunch of touchdowns i mean think about the throws that that he made down at the goal line. I with keelan coal. Which was an unbelievable catch. But then the next one. Braxton berrios won't but unbelievable those two throws that that's not luck. even this is by theory. Here you tell me. I've learned more about the nfl in the last four years and how impossible it is to perform a high level at the quarterback position in the nfl from you and to see him step in there and make those throws against a defense that is top of the league in sacks and do it consistently for the entire game. There's no lock there's no beginner's luck. There's something there now. I don't know if he's gonna go out and protest seven interceptions on thursday night. He may but i mean i when he he. He threw a great ball yesterday. It was it was like if i had no idea and i. I was in a slumber and just woke up. And it'll rip van winkle and turn that game on. You told me that the jets drafted a quarterback number two overall. But i didn't know who it was. I would have been like man. This kid's got a bright future against finally got a quarterback. It was great man. I'll tell you the throw. The brexit embarrass were all sitting there in the nfl today studio. We're watching this because we were wondering whether or not they were gonna give keelan coal The catch and obviously it. Wasn't i mean it's too bad. It wasn't because it was that would have been better than the odell beckham ketchupy. But i it just the throat or braxton berrios basically took everybody's breath away because of where he put it and how decisively was. And how you know it was right there on the sideline and it was a perfect throw. It was just a perfect. Throw it really. I mean like gee. This doesn't happen very often in the league for kid. Who's been bounced around. Who's twenty five years old. So he's not twenty two twenty one. I'm sure he was a little bit nervous. Going into the game. Forget which wide receiver say. Man that's freaking. Mike white man. He's the tie john. I was running back tie johns and by the way i just want to say that Tie john michael. Quarter had amazing games yesterday. Especially it's when your team wins. You wake up the next mornin and to do it the way that the jets did at this morning. I'm sure i would hope all jet fans are extremely happy about this performance and where it came from and how it just came out of nowhere you got to be just like. Wow this is now at like. I said again. He can't really celebrate it all that much because they gotta plan thursday night. Yeah but still i mean. I'm sure that he he had so much last night so much this morning. The crowd was chanting his name. His parents apparently were shedding tears because the whole crowd was chanting his name and he was so great. He'll he'll have enough to. He could enjoy this for the rest of his life. Yes you don't know how long this is going to run. They're gonna make a movie out of it for sure. Yeah that's he'll always look back on. This i i just wonder if he continues to play like this then what well then you got a good problem. You got a really good problem. I guess it'd be a good problem because that means you'll have quarterback but i mean is it just like all right. You don't win jack. Wilson's healthy he goes back in. Is that what's going to happen I well. I think that will play itself out. Let it let it happen naturally one way or the other but it happened naturally and today. It's mike white day man. It is mike white day. All the way he deserves every ounce of credit and the poise that he showed yesterday the accuracy the touch when needed touch a look through a lot of short short passes. There's nothing wrong with that. I mean tom brady does a lot of short passes to and then all of a sudden when you gotta load it up you loaded up when you see that you have the right You have the right match ups and things of that nature denzel. Men's got involve a little bit yesterday. He did drop one in the end zone. Yeah i was kinda stumbling out of his route news tripping and falling into bohannon right in the chest but at least like he eligible for or showing up. And you're starting to see them and that. And that's what you're hoping for. And i think you know rob solid can wake up this morning and have a big sigh of relief. But like i said you know it's already onto indianapolis sure and he needed this too. It's going to be all about mike. White but rob solid. After that performance against the new england patriots. He needed to show that he could coach to win a game and they did. They came out and they scored right away. They took the ball and they scored right away here. Here's the one thing i will say. And i don't know i don't even know why i think this way but i do because it's just like by cynical nature to think about what's going on in the world and how things work in the nfl. So here's why does incredible incredible game. I mean it's like the top of the top tell you it's like you could have never predicted it. But now sudden you have a second overall draft pick. Who's sitting there watching this. Oh yeah and you have your head coach saying what he said. Yesterday which i would have said the same thing. So i appreciate rock-solid being honest and saying hey you never know what's going to happen you never know how this is going gonna play out in these one hundred percent right but does the gm say look. We took this guy number two. He's got to get back on the field. This is what i'm saying. This is what. I've been trying to ask you so that would be i. I don't know i. I think robin joe or kind of aligned at the hip over there and they're going to let it play out. There's like jack wilson's not coming back anytime soon. I don't see him coming back at two to four weeks. Yeah so you know. Maybe not even so mike white might be get the next two starts the other interesting thing about all of this. Is that when they signed. Joe flacco and he decided to come late the practices week. Yeah right his comments were wall. I'll be up and ready to go next week. You're not playing play. Play it anymore. By the way that gets a bills game that i'm going to get a hell of a lot more interesting if mike white is. The quarterback will also could be interesting if trevor trevor zach. Wilson is is back under center. Yeah depending on how. Mike white plays from now until then. I hope it's great because yesterday was a lotta fun. I know you guys brought some names on them as this week. And you just mentioned maybe tr. If brown ever comes back left tackle. That could be a whole right. There filled If they were to be active at the deadline what positions do you think that they would look at. There's only two spots and first of all nick folk chris. Gaspar is going to be insufferable this week with another four field goals from nick folk me. I am the obligate. Yeah i think he's contractually obligated to say he's second best player on the patriots like every week but anyways trade deadline. There's only really two spots that. I think they need to address earliest. Look to address and that Slot receiver if they can find one a speedy slot receiver Somebody who can catch the ball and get open quickly and give jones something quickly because you know one thing that is starting to get on my nerves in happen again today. Like on hunter. When mack jones hit hunter henry in the legs today This is now the second straight week. I think it's second. The other one was jacoby. These guys are going out in their past pattern. Like they're they're playing street ball football where they're like they're setting up their move and then the do and head fakes and things like that. Meanwhile mack jones is about to get his head ripped off like can somebody get into their route quickly and get open instead of you know trying to to act their way you know. Pass the cornerback in and so that's starting to get on my nerves look. They don't have speedy slot receiver they just don't and we know how important that is in this offense. That's something i would be looking for any isabella from. Umass with the cardinals. He i don't think he's played one. Snap on offense this year with the cardinals. He's behind the rookie. Rondell more is never gonna play. There might be cheap He was a pretty high draft. Pick though so that would be one guy. I would look at And to me if you can find some sort of professional cornerback to add to the mix. That's fine but here's the thing guys. If they add cornerback we already know how bad the stefan gilmore trade looks already in the whole situation for the past year would stuff on That led to that. I mean they can't go and trade for cornerback and give up more than what they got the six round pick and so what are we talking about here. So i don't really i tackle. They're not gonna find a tackle. They have like eight billion on the roster. They gotta figure it out and and outside of that I think they're good. Were they are. I don't want sean jackson. He's redundant to nelson galore. I don't want anything like that The patriots could have signed sean jackson for cheaper than nelson anglo. They picked aguilar. It's only halfway through the season. They're still figuring things out so to me slot receiver. A cornerback would be on my list. Would they give up any capital And i'll just draw a name. Would sean jackson ever be an interest for the team. When host aren't listening. Unless i just said the wrong name but despite jackson's i was just avid okay. Yeah i was going to be. It's okay. I know i do not. I do not think he i do not think he is a candidate for them They could have signed him in the off. Season didn't to me. He's redundant to galore. They play the same spot. Now what's the trickle down effect. Do you move adler to the other side. Where does that do born was that dude myers. I just don't see it The patriots are using while they've gotten their mojo back here. The us in a lot of yaacob johnson in the backfield too tight ends Going multiple wide receivers on the field. And so i. I don't really see that as a fit. It's not as icy. Or at least i'd like to think it's not between the jets and the patriots anymore. I mean they did trade to marry his thomas to him a few years ago. Do you think there's any way they could find a willing partner with them and try to get jamison crowder. Maybe bring braxton berrios back Yeah it's possible. But i don't eat a lot of times jim when actually all the time when the patriots looked to make a deal like this they they need to way. Look it is. Is it an upgrade. Well not only that. But is the guy. Really upgrade is brexit derrius and upgrade over gonul chefs and stuff. Ski is like the fifth wide receiver to me is not but maybe the patriots phil differently. I mean crowder would be guy that i would be interested again. But you're again it's to me it's you atagi. And now there's a trickle down effect and how does that affect things You know if anybody. I love jacoby myers. But they really need speedy slot receivers. That would help. Mac jones immensely but i think the patriots made their decision in terms of that one and decided to go with two tight ends. I think have hunter. Henry wasn't available after they signed. Johnny smith maybe they would have gone that route maybe they would have added another receiver. But they're paying both those guys twelve and a half million dollars. That's the identity of their offense not multiple wide. Receivers matt enact in your next here on the shah's patriots postgame show greg bernarda boston sports journal. Go ahead matt so I was thinking can usually be asking like where the play was in a game disclosing tough like silly as it sounds i gotta ask what is the lack of trick plays especially you know in mac with struggling like mean about our offense and seriously like why do we run these plays against the jets and the like and not against the bolts that we need just to kind of figure out took place. I can't get any. Thanks man. Greg good question matt i think a couple things are play I think you know when you do call some trick. Plays you look at the opponent. You think there's a have a high level of comfort that they're going to be successful. And i think when you look at the jets you don't see many guys who are going to blow up place whereas with the chargers from bosa too you know because you're white at linebacker you might not be the greatest run linebacker but the dude can fly derwin james those type of guys. You look at guys like if we're not on point it could get really ugly so i think i think that a lot of confidence doing jets it puts it on film for other teams to think about at least prepare a little bit more. I think that was part of it. And i think the reason why they didn't do any of that tonight against the chargers was because i think the patriots realized they push the chargers around a little bit more that they that they could out physical them and be mentally tougher and i think the the end result really proved them right on that that front all right. We'll be joining a. You'll be joining in for a while now. Not so big boy. Big boy tuesday as you're on Awaken whiny weight loss. But a big one though for For all of us because it is the nfl trade deadline on tuesday afternoon. So we will talk to you at two pm on ninety eight five of sports on tuesday. Yay want all sorts of good audio.

"This week. He's got a favorable matchup against the jaguars. His snapper senate went from twenty nine to forty six. Yes thirteen targets already. So you somebody that. He's a boomer boss receiver if he doesn't get along touchdown but he's got the favorable jaguars match this week. A guy that i i really liked In where his adp was in redrafts. Season was corey davis Somebody who was signed by the jets as justin while knows and he had an excellent first week he had over twenty six points a ton of targets but last week he really dropped off. He went from eighty nine percent snap. Share to seventy three percent. And some of that i think is because of the emerging. The emergence of braxton berrios in malaysia. More and those guys are becoming more involved in the offense zach. Wilson also is a quarterback who doesn't have a very good line. He's going core. Davis is gonna be matched up with patrick Junior in kareem jackson to the best cornerbacks in the league certaines looked fantastic. Already as a rookie. And i just. I don't think wilson's gonna to have much time back there to throw. And i just don't like corey I like him as a player. But i think he's not good enough to get the separation he needs against a tier one level. Cornerback a shutdown corner. And so for that reason. I'm sitting him this week even though he's gonna demand probably the most targets once again In the passing game. I i don't trust him he. He didn't perform while last week at all he had around two or three points in a. He's somebody that. I could start darnall moody. I can start tyler. Borey boyd. rondell more Even quintas has i mean. There's there's guys that i just. I trust a little more than corey davis against a really difficult denver on defense this week. Corey davis is a guy that no joke. I feel like. I could probably talk for about an hour just because i have so many different differing opinions. We tweak on corey davis. He's one of those guys. I go back and forth with. He had that big week one game. He got shadowed by stefan gilmore..

"Thai johnson look good and they still only score six points. That ever happened over fifteen ever gone for one. Fifty scored like less than seven points and lost by this margin. Has to be the first time ever like it's wild. It's wild to fantasy notes. Here jets wise on this game allies. You're more four. Forty seven on eight targets. He's not going anywhere and like zach. Wilson loves them. And i feel like at some point. He's have a big spike in the box. Or even when jamison crowder eventually returns. Braxton berrios is so annoying that like he's thing in the national football league. Just go away. Seven for seventy three eleven targets. The safety valve. For zach wilson damian harris also had like maybe the best play of the season on that touchdown robbers pretty incredible broncos eleven point favorites against the jets on sunday. Forty one and a half the total pretty incredible and as ken said patriots on the saints. We'll talk about that game in the next segment. We'll be preview week number three. But the rapid-fire recap comes to an end right now with one of the teams we just discussed. That's the denver broncos denver jaguars twenty three to thirteen. Unfortunately we you know we met the jaguars game pretty annoying. Josh lambo aka. Josh pinto misses a couple kicks broncos cover game goes under the total broncos beat the jaguars ken by ten. I mean i would never be the person to tell you the jags were dead right in this game or that. They were like super live to win it. They could cover the six pretty easily. They got completely outclassed. Statistically trevor lawrence was as the stat line for your fourteen for thirty three. for one. Eighteen and a touchdown at two picks the team never red zone possession in the game the jacksonville jaguars other touchdown obviously came on special teams for those who are watching one hundred eight yard hundred seventy nine and and and they have passed on their first rap tomorrow jones but after that drive the opening drive can for the jaguars. Yep that's that's a good point. So yeah i mean just lords terrible no reds like five point nine to three point eight yards per play so plus two point one denver Yet it'll be. It'll be interesting to see denver going forward. Their first two games are against the giants and the jags and they played the jets next week. So like we're still not gonna to. He's going to be three. Go nothing about them. Which is absolutely remarkable. Is this a team. You know it's it's kinda like what what's happening with the raiders. Do we trust anything. That's happening right now. Do we think this playoff contending team. Maybe the record i think. They're better than the raiders. i take that for. We're to take after i would at denver's defense is significantly. Better than the raiders. okay. Yeah i just unanswered questions right. We're gonna learn Learn this sunday. But we're gonna learn The week after so yet for jacksonville. Like i think i missed opportunities from a betting standpoint like missed field. Goals by ten is pretty rough. And he gets the special teams touchdown but for denver. I mean you know we can. I can knock them. It can be whatever like this is what you're supposed to do teams that you're better than just most outgained them..

"How smart does my thirty percent. Jamal williams ownership in underdog best ball look now Come at me. i'm going to go to another running back on that team. Someone i have in some dynasty and that's Oregon state former beaver dramatic jefferson. Another guy a project him to if not lead the running back group in snaps to be close to it So again just looking for the opportunity with the running back positions going tomorrow. Jefferson detroit hosting indie throw So my second guy. I'm going over to pittsburgh and coach tomlin. You know some five seven guy. He told me technology's not playing. We're not playing this last game. So i'm thinking in jalen. Samuels here gone a little bit further down the depth chart but with the running back position. I just really need like some type of production. He gets the rushing load and then he also can catch out the backfield. I'm just hoping for a couple of dump balls Maybe some garbage time and he catches a bunch pass out backfield and can run up the score from just a little bit all right. Let me Let me pair my The guy who i would be stacking with patrick mahomes and that's He's i believe he's lead. He led the team in snaps from the wide receiver group last week. And that's moco harbin I don't know if the fantasy community has willed their way to like elevating him or if this is just truly they they need to see what they have from a guy who hasn't necessarily performed when it's mattered again. I think he could be the guy to stack if you wanna stack with patrick mahomes co hartman. Fifty five hundred again. Everyone's fifty five hundred. I don't know. I said that. But hosting the minnesota vikings who should be playing all backups Terrell who's your first wide receiver. Well obviously we didn't talk about our lives before we came on the show today because my receiver meco hartman. Like i said i'm stacking them with pack mahomes here and i watched that first half because i'm a huge pack mahomes fan if anybody wants to join a pat fan club. Amd president. i am semi membership. I will send out my email later. And if you want to join you can michael hartman. They were just off a few times. He was targeting him heavy in the red zone like heavy in the red zone and it will just off on those slants by just inch every single time so i think he really wants to get me call harmless some shine get him a really good contract at the end of his tenure. And so you know it's going to start here and hopefully is a either a long burner. That goes for a touchdown. Just something in the red zone. But i think he gets into the end zone this week. All right second guy is going to be my stack. And that's a terrorist marsal junior Again they're playing starters. He appears to be locked in as the the big slot starter This team can be very fun to watch this year. And i think he's going to be a reason. Why so i just i. I like the chances that sam. Sammy dean Turns marshall hookup for a touchdown in their half of play in this game so stacking me. Some darnold grow our second. I'm going to indiana. I'm doing desmond putman batman batman today Second year six round guy Six four so. I think sue wanted twenty five pounds. I think bad Watching him this preseason. He's has six targets in the first game in the second game put together a pretty good hate and he's one of those guys like one of those guys there's late late round drac Could be on the chopping block. This year i know is his name and a couple other names that are on the chopping block of guys that are fighting for that last wide receiver spot. I think all the other five spots have been locked up in his one more. And i think that pacman is really to get it so I'm going with him. I think that he got the opportunity. And then if etlinger is going the whole game he's definitely gonna get the workload 'cause that's gunslinger right there. Yeah i mean i. It's it's certainly going to be an interesting situation watch. I think pamela colts fan. I'm really worried about the health of my starting quarterback. i'll say that all right. My third wide receiver. I'm going back to the jets. I'm actually gonna play a little further down the depth chart and that's braxton berrios just because like this is a perfect. I wasn't a fan of miami but he this type of receiver he's going to be A lot of comfortable throws for whoever's throwing to him. I don't even know if it's with the starters in new york. But i think braxton berrios could see a lotta snaps across multiple units and again. He's going to be running those routes. He's playing for a roster spot so we could see the. Hey hey vet you know. We're we're gonna cut you so we'll give you a little extra time to get that tape down I like the profile for him. So through braxton barrio sin is my last Wide receiver also wanted to fade that The second and third string and ford string for the eagles is maybe the worst secondary i've seen in in a very long ninety even just trying to throw shade at the they. They have looked horrible. And i get it new coach and everything but if you wanna get you tell me what team what unit has looked the worst out of anyone in preseason though the defense phillies is tough to look at all right. Terrell third wide receiver a out our set any eagles slander whenever we can get it but covered some my third wide. receiver is a guy From here columbia. South carolina shy smith for the panthers. he was one of the highest grade wide receivers of the preseason so far by. Pf he's a big guy he can get down the field and makes some crazy catches obscene play. Usc a couple of times. And he's really a baller and i think that Especially at the the guys outside that depth chart outside. Dj more outside. You're obviously tears. Marshall it those guys kinda get some early and then are put out there and show. Smith is at that point the number one receiver that they have soon. I think that he's gonna have an opportunity..

"Where many people are saying is. No good needs to be replaced. So y- roberts. Layla was woman. Wait a minute now before we start sitting up there talking about we need to get rid of sam. Darnold and draft zach wilson. If that's the plan. Look i'm thinking that again slaley told him about. He has unbelievable arm talent. So the jets consider keeping donald and partying. Impairing him with A rookie quarterback but the organization was going to be sitting there tolerant about well. Wait a minute manolete. Go ahead and will use their number two. Pick to draft a quarterback or even if we trade down maybe drafted trae lance or something like that lachance. What exactly are we going to have in terms of. You know being a being a a decent franchise where we're going to be having ourselves a quarterback controversy man. We could even handle ourselves with one quarterback. Now we're going to be starting about that. We're going to be having a situation where we're going to have to quarterbacks who could play who might not play who this that and the other. We're got to go through that bullshit. Every day of a quarterback controversy. Now too much of a distraction so that played a role eventually saying that. Sam darnold need to go. Also the financial implications that played a role in the decision if the jets go ahead and draft themselves a quarterback zach wilson or really just using that number two pick. The cost for the jets is going to be thirty. Five million dollars over four years with darnold the financial uncertainties beyond the twenty twenty one season that the jets didn't exercise fifth year option for twenty twenty two so also thinking about the situation. Well if we go ahead we trade. Sam darnold we get some extra draft picks that we can go ahead and draft ourselves a quarterback who we feel is an immense talent and for four years. We'll have an opportunity to really load up in terms of the building around him because he'll still be on a rookie quarterback a structure. Obl's he'll still be on his rookie contract. Hopefully he can go ahead and become a really good quarterback russell. Wilson was with the seattle seahawks to where we can have ourselves are really really good team because we can spend a lot of money on the wide receiver or the offensive tackle or the pass rusher or the linebacker or the cover corner and normally the money that would go to a franchise quarterback reaching somewhere. Twenty twenty five thirty million dollars a year especially instead of having all that money being placed on one person. We can spread that around to get ourselves a much better all around team while as i mentioned before this quarterback who's important part of our team is still his rookie contract so at the end of the day they were. Let's just go ahead have a fresh start for. Everybody will part ways with sam donal donald wishing well and save that money. Take that molly draft a quarterback in go ahead and start building our team that way. So my my question. I guess in asking this question here on one of those roll. Sports podcast with your host wanted to wallace is what what exactly are they. Expecting from zack wilson. If you're selecting someone with the number two pick is going to be able to come in and start doing some things in terms of showing promise probably near the end of his first season this going to be from week one to week eight and that was speaking about seventeen games being played so florida first week onto maybe the midway point of the season week. Eight or nine or whatever the teams by weakest. It's gonna be a rocky road. It's going to be ups and downs is going to be some good games. There's gonna be some great games there's gonna be. Some horrible games is going to be so questionable games. Unless you named patrick mahomes for the most part. That's the life of a quarterback in his first year playing at that level of football. So that wilson is to some games where he's going to come out and he's showed some promise and then the next week is going to come forward interception and one touchdown complete fifty two percent of his passes in the jets getting blown out if the jets start losing the. Just start off over three one in four two and five three and seven. What is that to mean for his confidence in the mental moving forward when you speaking about the media market like the new york area so all of these things are going to come into play. And we're speaking about you. Know what are the pieces that are going to be pulling around in for him. To succeed in the coaching staff is concerned. The rubber slater is a defensive guru. That's where he he didn't get the job. Because of his offensive chops he was A great defensive coordinator now coach is a coach and who you hire a plays a huge role in how you interact with the team and how you connect with the team and how you will do those types of things communication skills me head coach. I think are much more important criteria to be a good head coach rather than someone. Who's a genius either on the offensive or defensive side of the football. Yeah that helps but if you had bill check in cleveland what tanked his. Tenure is first year as head coach. It would be that well really Was aloof. I really was distant when it came to my players. A lot of times these really successful coordinators. Who don't become really good. Head coaches many examples multiple times multiple opportunities that they get it because not because of their xs rose not because of the schemes and the game they draw it's because of the lack of communication. They have with their players lack of leadership that they have with the net locker room with the players now. Layla as i mentioned before. Great defensive guy. And i think he's a guy who's a really great leader where the team is going to be willing to follow him now depends on. What are you gonna do about the offense side of the football. Who are you're going to hire restaurant offensive coordinator who you're going to hire as your quarterback coach such so all of these things are going to be very important for the growth maturation and the expected reaching of potential for zach because he's already been placed with the. Hey he has. Patrick mahomes type qualities. Were not saying he is patrick. Mahomes what we're saying. Is that some of the arm talent. Some of the throws some of the things that we saw on tape on film. Byu saw pro day kind of reminded me. A patrick mahomes told them about setting up to fail. If that's going to be the case. So that wilson is coming in not as a game manager. that wilson's is not coming in. Like maybe like a jared goff tight. That wilson is coming into Be the star of the show and be the star of the show in a relatively quick amount of time so that going to play out. How's that gonna work especially if you take a look at the roster especially if you take a look at the skill players that surrounding that will be surrounding him i. How exactly is that going to work. When you have. Tevin coleman tie johnson and josh adams as sharon beck coleman who fall asleep from the forty niners each gained eight hundred yards only that the multi gain in his career and he's carried the ball the most in his career one hundred and sixty seven times. Now you're going to be asking him to be able a featured back or number one back. There's nothing zack wilson. From day. One stole the ball around the yard. Forty five forty two forty five times. So you're going to need a running back. Tevin coleman a journeyman who didn't do anything in atlanta mokes success in san francisco. You're gonna that guy that guy you're going to go back to frank gore again. Who was the starting running back for the last season. You're gonna rely on a duo of running backs in tevin coleman tied johnson. What does josh adams bring to the table. That's the running back. You're gonna have to alleviate some of the pressure as going to be on zach wilson wide receivers dig a little bit wide receivers. The have coming into next season so far. Corey davis jamison crowder just dachshund washington football players on the team. Denzil mims braxton berrios. That's that's the squad that's the that's the wide receiver brooke. Jubal half for. Zack wilson. Anybody see number one receiver on that board. And he wants the number one receiver left. Chart corey davis. That's going to be your guy former tennessee. Titans that's gonna be your guy that's going to be the number one option now. One of the jets can do a draft picking a wide receiver. We don't know but they're not going to select your march chase. They're not willing to select devante smith. I don't know going to be in a position of draft jaden. Waddell what are you gonna do. What exactly are you gonna do if you're in a new york just to upgrade that situation enough to where it can give That wilson a partner to where he can grow with us. You know for peyton. Manning there was marvin harrison. Is the marvin harrison for the new york. Jets to work with What the fares are hoping to be the same impactful The impact that many had on indianapolis colts. They're hoping that that wilson has that type of impact with the new york jets. You can't do that if you're gonna be heavy. Denzel mints and corey davis jamison crowder as a wide receivers within ten coleman esther league rusher. So who's going to be that complement. Who's going to be that guy who's going to be the guy that go. That is going to bail. Out zack. Wilson. he's played quarterback week. Three in the nfl be interesting. Windows rolled in sports. Your host one to wallis glad that you could be with us and again the jets or a far far from finished product when you speaking about their areas of weakness the need for a pass rusher at the defensive line little williams for the new york. Giants look pretty dim. Who was he with. Oh yeah that's right looking for a quarterback looking for an improvement along the offensive. Line you to new york jets. What are you gonna do now. After the deal with carolina new york has a total of ten draft picks to first round draft picks number two which all assumption is. They're gonna go that wilson and then the number twenty three pick. They got from seattle whole as part of the As part of the double adam straight. They're going to have a second round pick number thirty forty. Two third round picks numbers sixty six and eighty seven. You have a fourth round pick. You have to fifth round picks and then you have to sixth round picks so there's going to be plenty of for the jets to address some of these deeds of need of improvement. But are they going to be enough to Signify anything special jet fans. You shouldn't be thinking about the jets doing anything in terms of a look. None of y'all got. It is the season six eleven seven ten somewhere around there. That's great improvement. That should be considered a successful season. Anything under five wins not anything since yes so finishing five and twelve but finishing six eleven hope hope and of course near the end of the season. You have to see exactly where that wilson is going to be internal development. Because i really haven't looked at the schedule. The draft not here. So i don't think we can get a true feel on what the season is going to be for the new york jets especially when you speaking about the nfl speed about injuries as such out. There's no such thing as looking at the schedule. In april may or june or july. And say okay. This is what this team is going to be. This is what the record is gonna be. These are what the expectations should be nuts. Not early but if you're going to be playing that game and you're taking a look at the afc east and you're taking a look at the areas of improvement. That new york's going to have to be dealing with or going to have to upgrade for their team to compete. The buffalo bills have josh. Allen is stefan dick story about a new england patriots made big moves a spend along the money in the offbeat greater roster and free agency and they could still be in play to improve the quarterback position through a trade or even a draft. Pick bella. Check those guys might decide you. Know what if fields or trey lance or somebody's gonna fall outside of the top ten or somewhere near the top ten. What can we do the move to get into position to go ahead and draft those guys so that is still in play for the new england patriots. The miami dolphins are young up and coming team with a boatload of draft picks in our to our tongue of that they're hoping can improve upon a rocky inconsistent rookie season that he had so you know if you're new york. Those are the areas you need to be looking at in of okay. These are the strength of our competition in our division. What are we going to do through the draft or wherever the try to improve those areas. Of course we need a quarterback. We're going to be dealing with josh allen and stefan digs. Of course we're going to need to do something about offensive and defensive line. You have a brian flores. You have a bill bell. Check who are very good. Defensive coordinator should pull a break defensive scheme so we're going to have to have talent amongst the skill positions to counteract what they're going to be throwing at us especially when you're going to be speaking about a situation where the jets could be playing a rookie quarterback so it will see we will see. We will see when does roller sports. I'm your host wonder wallace so glad that you could be with us. So with all hubbard. Do with the jets. Trading sam darnold to the carolina panthers. What does that mean for justin fields. And what does that mean for. Trae lance depends on the four day right right. Everybody's talking about their draft that jones. They're going to draft joan to fully ninety two draft. Mick jones okay. We'll do that. The draft really starts number three trevor lawrence to the jaguars. No no no surprise. The digital letting. Zach wilson other. Byu no surprise. All right one of the san francisco forty niners are going to do. This is when the draft really begins because they pick my jones for all right from the new england patriots. If i'm the washington ryan patrick skins if i'm the chicago bears if i'm any of these guys on the new england patriots and found the pittsburgh steelers all of a sudden. Let's start to take a look. I started getting a little bit interested. I started mix them calls. I started making some notes. I started talking to my coach and gm an owner. What's going on. okay here. We go here. We go now. It gets interesting because if you're in atlanta what are you gonna do at number four cincinnati. What are you gonna do at number five. If you're miami do number six. If you're detroit what are you gonna do at number seven your carolina. What are you gonna do at number eight after denver at number nine. What are you gonna do. Dallas number ten eleven. The new york giants the twelve picks the philadelphia eagles. What a unity. Who do school select. Can we talk..

"braxton berrios" Discussed on GSMC Football Podcast

"Newton's signing with the patriots all the patriots moves This free agency and ryan. It's magic to the washington football team. That was my second segment after. I covered andy dalton going to the chicago bears in my first segment. Now i'm gonna get into the rest of free agency because look a warned you guys. It was the free agent frenzy this week. Those are the big storylines but look there were a lot of other signings. A lot of other deals made and it was a busy week for all. Nfl insiders. i add my chapter twitter. Fixations on it seemed like about three times. An hour was getting a new player. Different team new signing new releasing. So all of that. I'm gonna get into all those big names big name acquisitions and big-name movement So what else is happening. Around the league first off wide receivers are still available and they are not coming off the board as quickly as other positions are so. I'm gonna get into all of that. The buccaneers have a big free agency. Week or two weeks now. Just signing and reciting players. It looks like they are bringing back all the employers from their super bowl run including shaquille barrett. Tom brady restructured deal move. He made a new england a lot to help team in the present so he restructured his deal to help recap space rob gronkowski's coming back Linebacker levante david's coming back and guard. Aaron skinny they will all be back to shore up that offensive line almost lead into some other big news around the league and what teams paid ryan bax which should be frowned upon them to into my reasons for why you should not pay running backs in twenty twenty one so first off the wide receiver market. Who's off the board so early in the week While players started to go bigger named wide receivers remain on the board and there was a plethora of them available and they were just not going sometimes. This happens it. It's different every year but there were multiple wideouts sign recently in the recent days after the surge of free agency. But there's still big names out there. So kenny golladay. He is expected to sign with the giants. But that is not been made official yet. I'm it'll likely be made official sometime this weekend. But i will say he also visited the bears so i don't want to rule that out because the bears could still be looking for a cheaper option at wide receiver one. So nothing's official yet. I wanted to make that clear visit. The bears visit with the giants right after and he's really extremely productive. True number one wide receiver for a really good price right now and what. Kenny golladay does great. Is i think he's overall his catch. Radius is separates himself from other receivers in the league I saw matt stafford just throwing it up to him throughout his time in. Detroit and kenny. Golladay the guy that goes up and makes plays he makes contested catches. He had sure hands bit true. Big playability and that we you need out of your wide receiver. One so the jets. The jets also added some pass catchers They added corey davis from the titans. And keelan cole from jacksonville to sawed wide receiver options davis is extremely productive. Talented He was the number two receiver in tennessee last year next to. Aj brown titans now have lost two of their most important pass catcher so inches. The it's going to be interesting to see how they move forward with that to have. Aj brown who's studied number one but they lost corey davis and lost new smith to the patriots. So we'll see what they do about that. The jets also signed keelan cole. I wanted to say corey. Davis had almost a thousand yards last year. Five touchdowns big playmaker was a solid fantasy football option. But i'll leave that to our. Gmc fantasy football podcast but as far as the jets go. They needed to upgrade either for darnold or for a future quarterback they needed upgrading. Sco position wide receivers at some points last year. They had braxton berrios goto option. Jamison crowder is a veteran receiver still productive. But i mean he can't be your number one guy going into next year and whether they bring back donald or go with a quarterback in the draft with their early draft selection they needed pass catchers and they need weapons for whoever that may be. So curtis samuel. I mentioned this earlier. he's from the panthers. He went to the football team. That makes that receiving core really lethal. You have curtis samuel turmoil in who's been as productive as they call him since he joined league two years ago and logan thomas who emerged as a bright spot on the former. Hokey shout to my virginia tech hokies. But he really was a bright spot and the former quarterback. He's he's huge. He's catching everything. He's an athlete. And i think he's. He's going to be a key red zone target for the football team next year. Another intriguing signing To me was. Aj green to the cardinals look so age. Agreed has not been the same. He's not the same age agreeing that he once was. But it's an intriguing move and he didn't perform well last year. But i think he was tired of being in cincinnati. I think he let that be known to everyone that he did not want to be in cincinnati and especially after joe burrow got hurt there was really no incentive for him to be kind of playing hardest and you saw his snaps go down but he's still aj green and although he's dealt with a lot of soft tissue injuries He had two touchdowns five hundred yards last year. And you're pairing him. With kyle. Murray now who Was an mvp candidate for much of last season. And he's a true playmaker. And when you have the.

Kenny golladay curtis samuel shaquille barrett Tom brady andy dalton rob gronkowski twitter corey davis kenny golladay davis last year five hundred yards kenny Golladay Newton Jamison crowder levante david cincinnati corey matt stafford
