Thanks to George kittle being in a seat 19 D on a flight saying that he was in the middle seat of an exit row and somebody next to him put two bags above. And what were thoughts on that? I thought to myself if you're on and you got two bags in their space, take it. Take it. I was flying back from, I just fly back from Romeo day. You went to Italy? Yeah. Did you eat? I got on, I got on first. First. Yeah. That's not one egg. That was group one. I was group one. Close enough. Let's group along with about a bunch of 30, 40 other people. But we got on first. And I got to my overhead bin and there was some huge monster bag in it. Like some golf ball, I mean, what do you call it? The hockey bags. No, no, no. It was like a shopping bag filled with what looked like a pillow or something or something. It was huge. It was like this big. It was this big, it took up the entire overhead bin space. And I was outraged. I got on first so I could use the binge space above my, somebody used my benchmark. I look around. Where's the human being? What the hell is this? That's even worse. The audacity. So again, that person doesn't sit in the seat underneath the overhead bin and used it. Doggy dog world, man. It is. I'm fine with having etiquette and I'll take only one bag and place it in my overhead bin and that'll be that alone. That's the only space I will have, and I will not recline my seat even though the button gives me the right to recline my seat because it might upset the large individual in the seat behind me. I will play by those rules until somebody doesn't. And then it breaks down all the civility breaks down. If you want to sign a document to say all this stuff, I'm in. Otherwise, I'm putting as much as I could above my seat. Get yours, man. That's it. I'm sitting with my chest. Get yours. So then George kettle called me diabolical for that stance. You did. And so then you then, because again, he said that he's in the middle seat of an exit row in 19 D, which once again, before we hash this out. That must be, that's a two three. That's a two on one side and a three on the other. You're not in delta that comfort. Right? Unless it's a two three two three two three two and you're in the middle of the middle seat of the middle. We're in between C and E. That's exactly the New York for the Emmys. That's how the plan between C and E, which is the way, unfortunately, might come out roll always isn't craps. When I'm on the scene, you know what I'm saying? What am I talking about? I don't know, I don't know. So then I hit up George. I was like, hey, George, do you recline? And if you're in the middle seat, what's the armrest move? And did he respond in the reclining? He did not respond in the reclining. He just wrote back middle seat gets both armrests. Yeah. We've all agreed on that. Some people do not. That's some people do not. The first come first. Could you imagine all I'm saying is let's just say you have Chris brockman, seat C, in a three seat row situation. D is the middle seat. You're in Rosie. You sit there first. You stake your claim. Left elbow right elbow. You got it, because you also know you can't take the up. You got to get the back. Right? Because that allows you to sit up and certainly when you recline. Right. Could you imagine the person who would try and battle you for that armrest? To your right? Is George kittle? You let him have it. Damn straight you do that. You lose your job. You're done. That's a lot. That's like the bull in the China shop. The hell right there. You know what I mean? Could you imagine George kittle as the guy sitting in the middle seat with the stance of I get both armrests? You're done. You're finished. You're done. You got no shot. Speaking of which, you know what's going crazy right now on Twitter is Scott Boris telling USA Today that the latest slight Soto had is the nationals flew him commercial a Major League Baseball flew him commercial across the country for the home run. International baseball, his team, not the league. After he declined the four 40. They made them get his any landed at one 30 in the morning and he still won the home run Derby. And everything happened to that he was like, the braves got the braves. Somebody flew that the braves fly private. They flew their charters to the a's all star was going to have to fight commercial and then Astros found out about it and he hopped on their jet. Yeah, you got room. Boris is like, that's the latest slight by my client is they will not fly him private. Guess what? If I'm trying to pay you $440 million and you say no, I am buying you a commercial airline ticket. "What we call it is. Next on the rich eisen show. When was the last time you did watch a football game with Peyton, just you and him, when was the last time that happened? You like? You know, I was thinking about that earlier, just kind of when's the last time it would have been like, you know, my brothers Payton coop and my dad sitting on sitting at home watching watching a football game. I think it's got to be 30 years ago. At least, I can't think of a time where we would have been together. We've been at some super bowls together. But Payton was playing or I was playing. I think it goes back to probably when coupe and Pete were in high school at some point. And I was ten years old and watching, you know, watching the saints game or watching the Sunday Night game or something on the couch. And it's been a long, long time. When you see the video of you throwing to Tyree, okay? What do you think of when you see that? I just my, I'm just thankful. Thankful for David Tyree, man. There's not a better person and a guy who just, you know, who had the worst week of practice in the history of all practices of that Friday and dropped every passion. Thought he was going to be the starting receiver and then taxco comes back and plays that game and then sure enough in the game, David Tyree has a touchdown catch and then makes the catch. You know, Rodney Harrison hanging all over him. "Business. No matter what, man, he gonna strictly business. And it's cool, you know, that's just the way of coaching he went, find a way to win. He does that. My tea is, you know, he gets to know you more. He's like more of a, let's say, a people's person. He would come and locker and crack jokes, you know, he was gonna live and do some stuff, you know what I mean? And then he finds a way of winning too. That's only similarities they have. They like what they have a net of winning. But how they win it and their formula is completely different, but they do know how to win. And I'll tell you that much. So you say, Sabin never made a D's nuts joke to you? Not once? Dodgy? That's a weak ass joke like that. I didn't find it at that point. You know, I mean, sources old ass. You know, he would say he said something like, you know, not here is lucky, he's always like, okay, well, whatever. I mean, I was like, whatever though. It's still the same building. It's just a different name. And now you could just create maybe you're going to be the first carry first score in the history of a share stadium. I think that might be it. That would be yeah, that would be dope because, you know, I was the first, I was the last person to score a touchdown at Heinz. Early that was to be the first person to score at active share, you know? But, you know, we'll see what all that. Well, I mean, the odds are you're going to get some touches. So you mentioned, I've got naji Harris here in the Richards. You mentioned new quarterback. Do you have any sense who that quarterback may be? Not yours. I'm just a player. I'm not the coach. I don't know anything about that. I'm trying to learn, learn to often still learn different positions, learn more of ins and out offense. I think we can leave that up to coach Canada and Mike T for all that stuff. But I can tell you what though, you know, all the guys that we have there, you know, they all look good, trubisky, mason, and of course, candy, all of them look good. They're all battling it out. They're all taking charge. They're all, they all embracing of what it is. You know, the competition. I think that's what brings the best out of all of us in this sport is a competition. So for them to bring in these guys and to compete it out and battle it out and know that your job is a security. I think that brings the best out of us and when this camp starts up on the 26th, I think we're going to have a good idea of who's going to be the guy, but as of now, you know, we just had OTAs recommending camp it's kind of hard to say, who's the guy right now, but, you know, this upcoming week, we're going to see for sure. Well, I mean, that's the way things will shake out with a competition. And it's going to be, it's going to be intense. Tomlin would not want it any other way, obviously. How are you different though? Walking into this training camp, your second year now. How are you different now? Yeah, man, you know, allow us placed on me last year. And I like that. You know, like I said, you know, a competition between the best of us. So a lot was placed on me last year after the fact that, you know, we all knew this was last year. So, you know, a lot Ben told me a lot of times, came in a room a lot, you know, told me a lot's going to rely on you this year. I'm about to lean on you a lot. So, you know, I took that, I took that from my head up and I was like, all right, I'm doing as much as I can for this team. I did the best I can. We made it to the playoffs. So that's always good, but the way we want to. But this year, you know, I learned a lot from last year. We had a lot of rookies playing last year where they had a lot of young guys on offense. We still do got a lot of young guys, but the experience that we had last year and we bring it on from this year, you know, the games that were in, you know, the difference between college and NFL, the speed, you know, learning X's and O's learning the differences of the alignments and what the defect is seeing in certain type of things. And I think that all carries on to this year to find out why what's our identity like for naji, what is now you have to be for this team, I'm trying to be everything I can for it to be a problem for the opposing teams defense. So they can look at me a lot and maybe pack the box up and we can get a lot of one on ones with Chase Deontay pat and other guys, you know, with Dan and KG and jukes, you know, all the guys, you know, they got more experience carrying on this year. So, you know, Dan, I don't think he gets enough recognition of what he did at left tackle going against all the guys. I mean, in our league, you know, all the edge rushers we had last year. He stood his own. So, you know, I always took my hand off to him, but even carrying on it this year, I think he's going to have a lot of he's going to do a lot better than what was last year. You know, me just learning the ins and outs of the protections, the routes, the runs, I mean, me being more vocal leader. I think that I was on carry on this year. 381 touches last year. You're going to get 400 this year. What do you think? Total. I'll get 500. Hey, listen. You know what I mean? It was immediately. I told them every game. I was like, man, look, if this is the way the winning, I can carry the load, you know, I trained to carry loads, you know what I mean? It's not, it's not something that I haven't done before. I didn't in college, high school, you know what I mean, the NFL, so for me to get that much care because I was like, man, as we win in games, you know what I mean? It was a long streak where it was someone saying, like, I have 25 carries then we're undefeated. I mean, so okay, this is our identity right here. So let's keep this going on. Let's keep this going. "No, I mean, the NFL, before you win games, you have to keep from losing them. And I think every game is a different story. So each game is a fresh start. You see, I mean, records don't really, there's not many people running the table going undefeated in the regular season for a reason. It's because the NFL game by game anything can happen and it really doesn't bother me one bit, I honestly, but besides the first four, I couldn't tell you the rest of our schedule. That was the first time that I really heard it verbally other than seeing it the first day. That's just not in our concern. We have to we have a lot to do before we get to worrying about the other teams right now. And I think that's where the focus is heading into camp here. Before I let you go, you got a good sauce gardener story for me so far. Anything? In the first couple of weeks? No, not yet, not yet. Okay. I will. There's no doubt I will have stories about all these rookies here in the next couple of months. They're going to be carrying your bags. Is that what it is or what are you talking about? Just because, you know, OTAs that come in midway kind of. They're fresh. And so you give them a little breathing room, but now camps a little different. You're with them 7 days a week, almost about 16 hours a day or so, NFLPA will call me after that one. Look out, we don't need that. We don't need that. I will. Should we talk and playoffs or what? Are we talking playoffs or what? Come on now. Braxton. We look, we have a lot to do. Like I just said. We have all the tools to be able to do that. Absolutely. And that's I mean, that is if we don't get there, obviously, it's a failed season to everybody in the building, especially as players. This is in a league or a sport where you can take rebuilding years and people are okay with that in the building. It's just not the shelf life of every single one of us is not as long as probably most other sports if not all other the major professional sports. So we're absolutely looking to go to the playoffs. That is the hope that's the goal and we're going to do everything in our power to make it happen. I love it. All right, look for my number calling you more often. So there is a narrative that's out there that's still out there that offense in baseball, particularly like the Yankees and Dodgers and so forth is about three things. Get a home run, strike out or walk. And that is a false narrative. And that's still being put out there by the likes of the guy that's on the for you. On this network. Peacocks. The Yankees are where they are today. I listen to the Yankees or watch them almost every game that season. They play small ball. They hit and run. Last year, I have to get drafted, you come into OTAs and you just got drafted, you have a whole new system, Brandon teammates, new city, and obviously it can be a little overwhelming. And then you look fast forward to this year. This OTAs and it's a different world from everything slowed down. He had a whole year under his belt. He got to re collect and calibrate and he's going into a season where he knows the offense. He knows the coaching staff. He knows most of his personnel through and through and that just it does a lot for him. Well, I mean, here we go. I mean, I didn't see this photograph where you have a Zach Wilson is good shirt and he's got a Braxton barrios is good. I like it. I like it. My only suggestion for you is I think yours is just a little bit too large as you get it nice and tired of those biceps show a little bit better if you've got a little tighter shirt. Maybe that maybe that would make the difference. Maybe that, you know what? We got an idea. But I was just sitting here thinking, obviously you had Corey Davis, you got Elijah Moore. You add to this mix and you. And then you add to this mix Garrett Wilson, and I know I'm leaving out others in your wide receiver room. So I apologize for that. You add a couple new tight ends. You got breeze hall, you got Michael Carter. You've got the rest of that running back room. It's good, man. You can go to battle. You can win games with this mix of people. There's no doubt about it. You can be physical. You could be quick. You could do a lot and again, it's just really, it's a quarterback driven league. And if the kid can get protected, it gets me all really fired up. I'm wondering what you could say it all looks like when you're putting it all together for the first time here. For the judge. And that's what we have to do. We have to we have to figure out what our best combinations are and be ready to go to war with those. And Zack needs to do everything under his power from just a game management standpoint and we have to do the rest. I understand why you say it's a quarterback driven league, but we don't need him to be Supernatural every game to win. We all have to carry our weight too. And it really does fall on all of us. And like I said, you know, our top to bottom has given us every piece we need to go into battle and have everything we need to win those games. And we just as a team, we have to go put it together. I know you can't control it. The schedule frightens me. I'm not going to lie, man. That first half of the schedule, it's stupid. I mean, first of all, it's like you joined the AFC north to start, like you literally are the 5th AFC north team. You play the entire division to start, then you get yourself a taste of Miami. I think you kind of eat whatever and whenever, because you're constantly broken down trying to build it back up. But obviously, you have that time to plan to get something together. I'm very excited. By the way, I don't know if you're aware I'm a jet fan. I don't know if you're aware of that Braxton berries. I heard, I heard. I'm from Staten Island, New York. I mean, I was there. I went to Shea stadium when Richard Todd was a quarterback Freeman McNeil. Alto and way back. Wesley walker, I mean, I could bend your ear, man. And I've been there and I've done that. Two years into my SportsCenter career back in 1997, 98. I went to the AFC championship game, I sat two rows from the top of the stadium and my Wesley walker Jersey. I'm real. I'm real. I'm so I'm just saying, is I'm real. I'm spectacular and I'm freaking out because it doesn't compute that things seem to be going in the right direction. Walk me through this. What's the feeling in the building right now for this team? Braxton Barrett. We have the same sentiment. Love it, truly. I hate I hate hype and I also hate talk. So I'm not going to sit here and do those two things, but what we have is we've grown a lot from being extremely young team last year, got a lot of experience, obviously, across the board. And then having all those young guys grow up a year and then we added some very key pieces this off season between the draft and free agency. So we fully understand that we have everything that we truly need and now it's just about going and executing consistently within the system. And so what was it like on draft night for you watching those guys come in on that first round and then Bruce hall the next day? Was that like for you? It was awesome. I was actually in Vegas. So yeah, I actually was in the green room, but another right there at the draft. And watching all these things happen. And then obviously, we had four and ten and then we traded up and had a third first round draft pick and we obviously did the sentiment around the building and obviously it doesn't seem as well is we crushed it. They did upstairs in an incredible job. And like I said, they gave us all the tools and all the pieces we need and we just hope to keep that momentum going as we enter camp here and make it into tangible wins instead of good things that happened in the off season. Well, you know, the drill it's a quarterback driven league. How does the QB look different to you in any way, shape, or form, Braxton barrios? What's going on there? What have you got for me? You know, obviously he had a full year of experience. I mean, I can't imagine getting thrown into the fire. Like he did, my rookie year. He handled incredibly well, I mean, it's been with him every single day and obviously he had a little injury there, midway through the year and then when he came back on that back half, he seemed to be a lot more comfortable and had to settle in a little bit. And so at all that from that. TAs and he does. They got to pop them back. And he did. Yeah, they're completely different. And.

"They had they would have had the ball back and the right exactly and with another opportunity to win the game. That's terrible cole. But at the same time though you know. I know i know that joe. Baroque gotten the ball back at won that game. But they were losing at that. Point to the jets that interception. It already happened at terrible interception. Joe borough mike white had already thrown for a gazillion yards and a bunch of touchdowns i mean think about the throws that that he made down at the goal line. I with keelan coal. Which was an unbelievable catch. But then the next one. Braxton berrios won't but unbelievable those two throws that that's not luck. even this is by theory. Here you tell me. I've learned more about the nfl in the last four years and how impossible it is to perform a high level at the quarterback position in the nfl from you and to see him step in there and make those throws against a defense that is top of the league in sacks and do it consistently for the entire game. There's no lock there's no beginner's luck. There's something there now. I don't know if he's gonna go out and protest seven interceptions on thursday night. He may but i mean i when he he. He threw a great ball yesterday. It was it was like if i had no idea and i. I was in a slumber and just woke up. And it'll rip van winkle and turn that game on. You told me that the jets drafted a quarterback number two overall. But i didn't know who it was. I would have been like man. This kid's got a bright future against finally got a quarterback. It was great man. I'll tell you the throw. The brexit embarrass were all sitting there in the nfl today studio. We're watching this because we were wondering whether or not they were gonna give keelan coal The catch and obviously it. Wasn't i mean it's too bad. It wasn't because it was that would have been better than the odell beckham ketchupy. But i it just the throat or braxton berrios basically took everybody's breath away because of where he put it and how decisively was. And how you know it was right there on the sideline and it was a perfect throw. It was just a perfect. Throw it really. I mean like gee. This doesn't happen very often in the league for kid. Who's been bounced around. Who's twenty five years old. So he's not twenty two twenty one. I'm sure he was a little bit nervous. Going into the game. Forget which wide receiver say. You look at guys like if we're not on point it could get really ugly so i think i think that a lot of confidence doing jets it puts it on film for other teams to think about at least prepare a little bit more. And i think the reason why they didn't do any of that tonight against the chargers was because i think the patriots realized they push the chargers around a little bit more that they that they could out physical them and be mentally tougher and i think the the end result really proved them right on that that front all right. More and those guys are becoming more involved in the offense zach. Wilson also is a quarterback who doesn't have a very good line. He's going core. Davis is gonna be matched up with patrick Junior in kareem jackson to the best cornerbacks in the league certaines looked fantastic. Already as a rookie. And i just. I don't think wilson's gonna to have much time back there to throw. And i just don't like corey I like him as a player. But i think he's not good enough to get the separation he needs against a tier one level. Cornerback a shutdown corner. And so for that reason. You know being a being a a decent franchise where we're going to be having ourselves a quarterback controversy man. We could even handle ourselves with one quarterback. Now we're going to be starting about that. We're going to be having a situation where we're going to have to quarterbacks who could play who might not play who this that and the other. We're got to go through that bullshit. Every day of a quarterback controversy. Now too much of a distraction so that played a role eventually saying that. Sam darnold need to go. Also the financial implications that played a role in the decision if the jets go ahead and draft themselves a quarterback zach wilson or really just using that number two pick. The cost for the jets is going to be thirty. Five million dollars over four years with darnold the financial uncertainties beyond the twenty twenty one season that the jets didn't exercise fifth year option for twenty twenty two so also thinking about the situation. Well if we go ahead we trade. Sam darnold we get some extra draft picks that we can go ahead and draft ourselves a quarterback who we feel is an immense talent and for four years. We'll have an opportunity to really load up in terms of the building around him because he'll still be on a rookie quarterback a structure. Obl's he'll still be on his rookie contract. Hopefully he can go ahead and become a really good quarterback russell. Wilson was with the seattle seahawks to where we can have ourselves are really really good team because we can spend a lot of money on the wide receiver or the offensive tackle or the pass rusher or the linebacker or the cover corner and normally the money that would go to a franchise quarterback reaching somewhere. Twenty twenty five thirty million dollars a year especially instead of having all that money being placed on one person. We can spread that around to get ourselves a much better all around team while as i mentioned before this quarterback who's important part of our team is still his rookie contract so at the end of the day they were. What is that to mean for his confidence in the mental moving forward when you speaking about the media market like the new york area so all of these things are going to come into play. That's where he he didn't get the job. Because of his offensive chops he was A great defensive coordinator now coach is a coach and who you hire a plays a huge role in how you interact with the team and how you connect with the team and how you will do those types of things communication skills me head coach. I think are much more important criteria to be a good head coach rather than someone. Who's a genius either on the offensive or defensive side of the football. What exactly are you gonna do if you're in a new york just to upgrade that situation enough to where it can give That wilson a partner to where he can grow with us. You know for peyton. I covered andy dalton going to the chicago bears in my first segment. Now i'm gonna get into the rest of free agency because look a warned you guys. It was the free agent frenzy this week. Those are the big storylines but look there were a lot of other signings. A lot of other deals made and it was a busy week for all. Nfl insiders. i add my chapter twitter. Fixations on it seemed like about three times. An hour was getting a new player. Different team new signing new releasing. So all of that. I'm gonna get into all those big names big name acquisitions and big-name movement So what else is happening. Around the league first off wide receivers are still available and they are not coming off the board as quickly as other positions are so. I'm gonna get into all of that. The buccaneers have a big free agency. Week or two weeks now. Just signing and reciting players. It looks like they are bringing back all the employers from their super bowl run including shaquille barrett. Tom brady restructured deal move. He made a new england a lot to help team in the present so he restructured his deal to help recap space rob gronkowski's coming back Linebacker levante david's coming back and guard. Aaron skinny they will all be back to shore up that offensive line almost lead into some other big news around the league and what teams paid ryan bax which should be frowned upon them to into my reasons for why you should not pay running backs in twenty twenty one so first off the wide receiver market. Who's off the board so early in the week While players started to go bigger named wide receivers remain on the board and there was a plethora of them available and they were just not going sometimes. This happens it. It's different every year but there were multiple wideouts sign recently in the recent days after the surge of free agency. But there's still big names out there. So kenny golladay. He is expected to sign with the giants. But that is not been made official yet. I'm it'll likely be made official sometime this weekend. But i will say he also visited the bears so i don't want to rule that out because the bears could still be looking for a cheaper option at wide receiver one. So nothing's official yet. I wanted to make that clear visit. The bears visit with the giants right after and he's really extremely productive. True number one wide receiver for a really good price right now and what. Kenny golladay does great. Is i think he's overall his catch. Radius is separates himself from other receivers in the league I saw matt stafford just throwing it up to him throughout his time in. Detroit and kenny. Golladay the guy that goes up and makes plays he makes contested catches. He had sure hands bit true. Big playability and that we you need out of your wide receiver. One so the jets. The jets also added some pass catchers They added corey davis from the titans. And keelan cole from jacksonville to sawed wide receiver options davis is extremely productive. Talented He was the number two receiver in tennessee last year next to. Aj brown titans now have lost two of their most important pass catcher so inches. The it's going to be interesting to see how they move forward with that to have. Aj brown who's studied number one but they lost corey davis and lost new smith to the patriots. So we'll see what they do about that. The jets also signed keelan cole. I wanted to say corey. Davis had almost a thousand yards last year. Five touchdowns big playmaker was a solid fantasy football option. But i'll leave that to our. Gmc fantasy football podcast but as far as the jets go. They needed to upgrade either for darnold or for a future quarterback they needed upgrading. Sco position wide receivers at some points last year. They had braxton berrios goto option.
