"The Brewers scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth inning to come back and defeat the Cardinals by a 65 score. They jump out to a one Nothing lead in the second on a Pablo Reyes home run. I think he really wanted to show up in his old ballpark this week because he did some really good things in that series in ST Louis. And of course, everybody's talked about the stolen base off of Jati, which was, I think more sentimental for him than anything else. He started to have a lot of hard contact down in ST Louis and you look over his last 11 games and 10 starts in there. He's hitting 3 56 in that stretch. He has the two home runs, but he has some doubles in there as well. He's driving in runs. He's getting some hits with runners in scoring position, and I just think more than anything, he's getting some positive reinforcement. He's getting positive results. And when that happens, you just naturally press a little bit less. You can start to be yourself again, and we all know what Christian Yelich is like when he is himself, and I think we're starting to see it. Hopefully, it continues as we get ready for this big series with the Reds, but he even tweeted yesterday it It feels good to feel good. And so I think that's him. Acknowledging that he feels a little bit different. The timing looks better. That's probably the most simplistic way of putting it. The swing doesn't look a ton different, but the timing looks a little bit better. And I think he's getting a little bit more aggressive early in counts to where he was a little more passive. If you go back to June and early July, and I think those two things combined better timing and a little bit more aggressive when you go back to 18 in the second half and over the 19 season, go look up. How many? Oh one pitches. He hit out 02 pitches even but certainly early in the count home runs, he Get a ton of them. In those two years in Lane, Aaron asked me the Brewers top pitching prospect is settled in after his rough first start ever against the Cubs. Over the course of this next month. And so you want to be careful with Corbyn Burns and Brandon Woodruff. And when Freddie Peralta comes back, so if you have a chance to slot him in every once in a while into the rotation, let him start to. I think that will be a key thing to keep the other guys fresh. So I think you'll see him do both. I think if you're looking at it more from a big picture, What would the postseason look like? From Aaron Ashby? Definitely a bullpen piece and a really nasty one. He's starting to throw more strikes. He's been able now twice. Over his last three outings to navigate some trouble in an inning, which I think is a big thing for a young pitcher, and anybody that's watching him knows how good the stuff is. This is really nasty stuff. He's going to be a really special pitcher. He's the next guy out of this group. The Brewers have found a way to really develop pitching and international. "I thought he was toast a year or two ago. I thought he was no longer immediately caliber. Starting shortstop and part of it was health. That's always going to be part of it. But he said listen. I kind of hit rock bottom These new coaches came in. I was ready to do what i whatever i could i was. I was open minded to changes and they went and looked naked. The bio mechanics and this listen. We still think you've got some talent in you. Why don't we talk about these changes to make that improve your game. And he's been fantastic like that. I think is huge for them that they were able to do that. Yeah and you got to give credit. Let like you said the player because so often it can be. You know easier said than done. And that's why i think a lot of times. A lot of times hitting coaches probably get way more blame than they deserve when it comes to like a veteran who all of a sudden is is having a decline but in this case it's seems from the outside looking in like a pretty perfect harmony between the players and the coaching staff absolutely. Yeah i mean listen. I know people hate the term analytics. It's become come kind of a catchall for scary things that people don't like but a lot of it is as simple as how can we take this player and help them make the most of his talent. How can we make him better. Which will make the team better like. That's entirely the boy makes sense. It's like any job right like put you in a position to succeed. Absolutely they're doing they're doing a great. I mean they hired zaidi from the dodgers. The dodgers are now becoming like a pipeline of these other teams and since that's their division to their own detriment. Mike petula allied one. More one more five eighths question the team you think Could end up making a deep run surprising people that again people aren't maybe paying attention to right. Now that's the market. But if you're going to face off against Jacob program, it would have been great if he was pitching against would drift or burns or Peralta just to have one of those great pitching matchups, But that's not not going to happen. But I was watching the Marquis network on the post game last night, and they were breaking down how Lester attacked the Brewers yesterday with his cutter and four seamer. He got 16. Swings and misses 12 of the 16 rounds cutter in his four seamer yesterday, and he was able to do pitch well, do everything he could possibly do to get the Cubs to get a win last night.
