"Actual interest and expressed that interest in playing abroad. He's seen what his teammates, his colleagues at the U -17 level did. Weston McKinney, Tyler Adams, Luca Dellatorre, he was with those guys. And when you speak to guys like Alejandro Sendejas and a Brandon Vasquez who were there with those guys, they think of it, they're there. I wanna be there. So why one is taking the leap of faith going there, the other one is going to Major League Soccer and you've capped him at number two. Now, very good player, sure, but he's proven it at the Major League Soccer level. Go ahead. Is that it? What am I, if not a prisoner of the moment? We've been watching a ton of LAFC of late and Tillman has been balling. I think he could fit nicely into the midfield. Here's the reality of that five. It started very hot, he started very hot, he did. Here's the reality of that five. It's one and then the other four. Balligan is a starter impact. Everybody else is, I don't believe, a starter impact. Sendejas at the end is harsh, but I look at that position. I see Reyna, who I know you can move. I see Polisic, I see Weya, I see a ton of options there that's gonna be really tough for him to hack through in terms of starting time. With Tillman and Booth, why I move them up is they just have pure quality. I think in midfield, you need some guys with pure quality. So that's why they're at the top of the list. I Cardoso know is of a position of need hurt, but when I think of Cardoso, if Tyler Adams is healthy, not only are you not starting, you're not playing, because Tyler Adams is gonna eat up every single minute that matters. I love Taylor Booth and I really love Tillman, and I think those type of skilled players that can fit in an eight, which you've got two of, they can fit maybe out wide, they can play any number of attacking roles, are very, very useful at the national team level. I like both those guys. Guess what Timothy Tillman needs to do to be a French player on the US men's national team. What are you gonna tell me, go to Europe? No, beat out his little brother. Different positions, right? Different roles. Very similar roles. Very similar roles, interiors right there. One is younger, the other one is in Europe. Listen, very prisoner of the moment of you, and listen, you got me in a top five with Flo Baligan, and not even talking about Flo Baligan. Think about that for a second. Now this is easily the most exciting dual net that's come out since Giuseppe Rossi. That's a reality, because of the position, because of what he's already done in Europe, et cetera, et cetera. And we're sitting here talking about Timothy Tillman because you're prisoner of the moment. Now, I firmly believe, if not because Jose C. Fuentes at LAFC is already checked out and going to Rangers himself, like already gonna make the jump, he would be behind him. I think C. Fuentes is a better player, but he's played, and he started out hot in what I would say is mid -level competition in the games that he has played, and done well when he started out hot in the beginning, but has cooled as of late. So let's hold your horses, like we're giving Anthony Hudson credit here for these dual nets. Let's hold your horses for a second and just tame the expectations on Tillman. Okay, the Timothy Tillman hype train then put severely in check by Hercules Gomez. Let's move on to Major League Soccer, shall we, Her? The

"A goal scorer, there is no hotter goal score. There is no player score, more goals in his age group than father and balogun. It's that simple. In a position that you could say is all of a sudden gotten deep, but it's historically been of need. And here you have a guy that's proven to score goals in a very competitive league at a very young age with a high ceiling. Not since Giovanni Reina have you had a player with this ceiling. This changes almost everything heading into the summer. Yeah, this is massively important. I'm with you. I like that you use massive because sometimes when you get a prospect, we want to shy away from it. We don't want to overhype him. But when you see what this kid is doing already, top flight, first division, big 5 leagues in Europe. You say, okay, he's going to definitely have an impact on the U.S. men's national team. And for me, her, the size of the impact comes down to the position that he plays. I don't think there's a more important position not just because you played it. Then the number 9, right globally, if you have an elite number 9 as a national team, even if you're not that good, I think it changes your ceiling in international competition. Because you don't have to be incredibly efficient as a team, you just need that one guy who maybe you create two or three chances and now a team that maybe is around a 16 team with a great finisher could be a quarterfinal team could be a semifinal team. And then when you talk about the United States, it's the position of most need. When you look around the rest of the U.S. team, is there a position they need more than the number 9, so to check that box, potentially hurt for the next 5, maybe even ten years, let's not forget, this guy's just 21 years old. I don't think you could have a bigger announcement, a bigger find in terms of a player than this. Not unless you found the player who's going to rival Tyler Adams because he's got an issue or pension for not staying healthy. That would be the only thing I could think of said, but you're absolutely right. Listen, there's a lot of depth. I'm going through the names. You've got balog and now you've got Haji. Josh Sargent Ricardo Pepe Daryl dike, Jordan P 5, a Brandon Vasquez may be coming through the mix. That Jesus Ferreira excuse me, yes, the producers getting angry is this fed Aidan who's obviously still in the mix. Those are a lot of names, but none of those names will move the needle. Like, a flow bag in right now. And I mentioned it. It's not that he's just scoring goals. It's how young he is and where he's scoring him at the pace he was scoring them at listen. He's in a little bit of slump, just returned to his goal scoring ways. It's something that a goal scorer will go through. But this has to excite you. It's not one of the best goal scorers in his age group. It's the best goal score organization when the top 5 leagues. Do you think it's such a significant addition that it could change the balance of power and conquer capital? Because right now it feels like U.S. Mexico, Canada, at any moment, one could jump ahead of the others. This, is this that big of a deal? With the right coach, yes. And until that's in place, I can't sit here and tell you this will be a success story. Obviously this is 11 V 11 game, a better team will Trump a better goal scorer any day of the week. So we need to know who's in charge, who's at the helm, how they will play, but man, this certainly tilts the cards in the U.S.'s favor, heading into the summer and what was a pick them game. Maybe now leaning towards the U.S. with the goal scorer. Beyond balog in herk, the impact on the program, to me, as far as dual nationals and recruiting, you always talk about Mexico being kind of a youth World Cup, a youth national team, global superpower. I think you say a tongue in cheek. When we're going to talk about recruitment and in this age of globalization, recruiting dual nationals, try nationals is going to be hugely important. The U.S. is now a superpower.

"History. That's right. Reports started Tuesday morning. They were confirmed almost immediately by U.S. soccer. Follow in balagan. Piling his one time switch with FIFA, it has been approved making him eligible to compete for the United States as early as the Concacaf Nations League. This summer, balog in a poor 21 year old striker, lighten it up in the French leagues on loan from arsenal, his eligible to represent, not just the U.S., England, and Nigeria as well. He actually played for England at the youth national team level, but he's coming home, born in Brooklyn. Here he is. Yeah, so my decision to represent the United States came together with my family and we decided it would be the right thing for me. Crunchyroll was born in so I mean in the end it became a no brainer bought for sure. It's just something that I wanted to do and it feels like I'm at home here. So luckily for me, my first time is going to be in a compared to a tournament. So of course the ambition is to win and there's not really much to it. I think I'm going to have the opportunity to train with the boys and just get to know everyone but for sure straight down to business when we head over to Vegas. I like to play under big games and it's something that every young player should be aspiring to do. So for me, having the opportunity to play against Mexico in a rivalry will be amazing and hopefully I can make a difference. Yeah, I mean, my reaction was I was a bit overwhelmed. I think I knew the U.S. is obviously a big country, but I didn't realize just how many people was involved in so called car, especially every time I just went on social media, I was just seeing loads of comments, people saying that I should choose to represent the U.S. and I mean, it's nice to really feel that before that appreciation. For sure. Polar imbalance committed to the U.S. men's national team, what is the impact on the program? It's massive, Seth. Listen, we've gone through the abysmal play in the pool lately. You've got players who on the verge of getting relegated, whether it be in the Premier League and La Liga, you got players who aren't making game day squads, you got players who are playing and not a good moment. This is array of sunshine array of light. And not only is it a ray of light, but this is one of the best players in his category in the world. A goal scorer, there is no hotter goal score. There is no player score, more goals in his age group than father and balogun. It's that simple. In a position that you could say is all of a sudden gotten deep, but it's historically been of need. "Which was I think the part before of like, are they going to sell me or are they not going to sell me? And I've played with guys in my career where that can become a big issue, right? Because you want to say, but honestly, the MLS I played in was much more of like blocking players from making moves. It was really more about just stay here as long as you can. We're going to keep you all the way through and now it's like Cincinnati has proven they're not going to stand in the way. And I think it's tricky because now they have to manage a few different situations. One, I also think they have other players of interest, like Brandon Vasquez, of course, we know. Now he might be thinking, okay, well, wins my turn. When do I get to make the move? But on the positive side, you're also saying, okay, well, the club hasn't stood in the way of when a player comes. We'll find the right time. But this is where it goes back to what I was saying before about how difficult it is to turn over roster. They're having to do it mid season. So the scouting department, I'm sure we'll have known for the Brenner situation, at least for a long time. But you'd hope that he would be still available and able to push now even for the sake of trying to impress his next move or go to an essay in a better place. But I think it's less on, it's really on Brenner. It's really on him of what is he going to give to this team? What is he going to do? I would hope that he has the peace of mind now to say I'm going to get my move I'm going to give everything, but it is, I don't know. It sounds like he's a little bit of like, I don't know, just unreliable, I would say.

"That he's in Europe with Barcelona. We know he's not actually playing for Barcelona. But I would have thought that a player that was practicing at that level and is desperate to make an imprint with the national team would have done more with this opportunity. You have to also acknowledge her that he is knee deep in competition at that spot. Jorge Sanchez is starting to turn things around. Kevin Alvarez is going to be a problem at that position for him. Julian Adams was not going to get a ton of opportunities to start games at right back. And the thing that really frustrated me her about last night is that he was playing effectively in a wingback role and the final ball, the service, the thing I would think that at Barcelona he'd be picking up wasn't there. It needs to be there, especially if he's going to play that role. You are harsh, man. You expect a lot of the guys who are playing their first games with the Mexican national team, but a player like a Suzuka yada, who's already played two world cups. Didn't even look like he should be long on the field. He crossed the ball twice, never went forward, but you single out. Your expectations are something else. Right. There was a couple others who probably could have been picked on Victor Guzman for the mistake on the goal at the end. Tough one. Patient is only. Yeah. Roberto de la rosa, you know, this is not a criticism of God, just a guy who shouldn't be there. In his career, he has fewer goals than Brandon Vasquez had last season at FC Cincinnati. So as much as we say this Mexico team was better than the U.S., just that comparison at the number 9 spot gives you an idea of how difficult it was going to be last night from Mexico to score despite all the pressure. Just very quickly. Ten seconds. It's a symptom of how far down Mexican players are and then number 9 position in ligaments. On our show out on nunca yesterday, Mauricio in my ask the Mexican national team fan about Roberto de la rosa had no idea who he was. And nobody would blame him. Nobody would blame him. He's not scored many goals or cemented himself as a starter in pachuca. Let alone the Mexican national team. And that's a fan, by the way, who paid a ticket to go watch the national team. It's not some guy on the street, right? Yeah. Hasn't made much of an impact. Out there lurking, waiting for

"You saw where the goal came from. It's a square ball 30 yards that you're going across the field. You put air along in a very compromising position. Yes, Aaron long could have cleared the ball could have done anything he could have besides trying to play out of that. He tries playing out of that and it's root one. One of the faster players for Mexico and they come down your throat that way. But killing a Costa needs to be a better player. Kelly Costa has shown that he can be a better player. Killing the Costa right now has the luxury of being the only like for like player right now in the pool when it comes for or as close as like to like as you can get to Tyler Adams. So this was disheartening for me. I'm a big believer in Kellen Acosta and at one point he was the next big thing to go to Europe. It didn't work out for him, but you could still think he'd be a Utah player. And what is this pool? He's not shown that. He didn't show that in Arizona. Yeah, it's expectations at this level, right? You figure a guy of his pedigree would do well if not dominated this level. I thought somebody who would do very well at this level was Brandon Vasquez. I thought he would be better. I felt a little bit disappointed in his performance, especially given the opportunity there at number 9. I wonder what you thought of Jesus fede a before the goal because I think obviously if one play can change your opinion of sergino dest, I'm sure the same can be said for his first feda. Yeah, before the goal, it's a difficult position because when you look at what's going on as the ball is moving around and why they're not creative, why they have nothing going forward in the final 30. Look, the expected goals it was abysmal. It was the worst showing offensively that they had since 2018 versus France. That Dave Sarah inside. There was nobody to kind of interlink to kind of drive the ball forward at a mosa Weston McKinney. Luca de la Torre with vision. They didn't have that. So he was trying to be that, pick it up in between pockets, but there was nobody to play with. He looked a little lost in there, but to his credit, he got a goal. And you can say whatever you want about it. And there are many who will say, and I'm not, and I'm not somebody who was a fan of him playing the game he played against the Netherlands in the World Cup, but he seems to be productive when he gets a chance for both club and country and at the rate he's going right now in club. He could be in Europe soon. So you want to play like him to succeed when he gets chances. It's just the eye test, not necessarily his past it, but he's got he's got the stats. And just because I know people are screaming at their television screens right now, we should probably mention Aaron long didn't have his best night either. Let's get to Mexico, herc. Stock up stock down. We will start again with that three on the positive side. And I'm going Luis Chavez. Now this one was pretty obvious to me. To me, he was the best player on the field, not only for Mexico, but of all 22

"Had a solid game closing down the back. Look, honestly, I don't know if you can tell. It's hard to get two worked up over the whole thing. This was our interim team under an interim manager play in Earth. That's Mexico and to be honest. My big picture and I don't know about you. There were players I was excited to watch, Brandon Vasquez. Caden Cal, Jordan Morris, by that one pass. It didn't exactly step up the game and just grab it. I did expect. It was one of those three. Did you just say, you know what? This is my moment. I can define this game. I will teach chances. I will create, I will assert myself. They will fear me. And I will make a big announcement and this game that I bloody belong. That didn't occur. And the biggest theme, I guess the loosest theme was felt for MLS. The United States, this is fascinating, just played its first starting 11. It got a mediocre hullabaloo there. Just played his first starting 11 with zero MLS authors in it. Since the league was founded in 1996 and there's no doubt that the balance of power of talent has shifted from young American men to Europe in a remarkable way over the last 5 years. And I wanted a player. I wanted players to step up to know each. And I wanted them to dazzle us to wink at us and say, you know what? This is wreck a park and I am going to bring my gaze in watch me hoop. I'm going to show you that the London dollar option of a very bloody good player remaining in MLS can whenever they want flicker switch and thrive in a U.S. Jersey. And tonight, I didn't see that. I don't know if you did. I definitely didn't see that. The real trophy, the chance to use the term market of a finish or that and put 1 a.m.. One final U.S. note, I had the honor and it really was a bloody on that. Let's be candid to spend time this morning, 330 million people in America. And only me, JW's, my producers, the great Randy Kim. We're able to get on the zoo with Fulham's Anthony Robinson and Tim ree. What an incredible human being. Legion united western McKinney and port role Pelé apron and aronson, we got on with them all at once and we cut a hilarious, wonderful, honestly, quite soulful conversation ahead of this Saturday's Fulham leads clash 7 30 a.m. Eastern Time. I'm still buzzing. I've got to be candid to have the opportunity to take with four of our American gents, all of whom are grinding out in the biggest league in the world and feel their joy of being together and talking together. It was really a delight to be part of that conversation or come out as a pod on Friday and on YouTube shortly afterwards. I can not, I can not wait for you to hear it. A couple of quick updates on what else happened today. I mean, I know we had everything pales in the shadow of the all state continental classic. But I'm going to suddenly myself by talking briefly about the lesser Champions League in which Manchester City drew one one would buy an in Germany to cruise through full one on aggregate, buying what eager Leroy Sami blew a one on one early. And it felt they set a tone ruthless buy in just was not present. There was some joy watching building Holland blaster penalty over the bar, which, as even as I saw it, I was pretty sure that he did that only to try and trick us and make believe that he is human and people on land. People listening to this podcast do not fall for that because he soon bullied poor hookah McCarthy. If you don't know what that means in French, that word, it's French for Everton football club. What a game you put McConnell had in just a truly traumatic sense. But Karla laid on a hesitation shuffle and then last to you can hear his cackle into the Munich. From feeling outside my window here in New York, 35th champions, the goal, team number is Neymar, the netted is just 27th career Champions League games for Harlem. 48 goals in 41 games, as Manchester City. Star striker this season, kid is 22. Utterly killed off the tie, made a late image penalty irrelevant buying two off to a one win in first 5 game star. I don't know how you say Potter in in German, Google Translate tells me that it's tough. As for Manchester City, they're into the second street semifinal while they'll meet their slayers from last season. Defending champions Real Madrid Ancelotti Ben's moderate lie between Pep Guardiola and his white whale the champions the trophy. And the other game interval I made sure will not only have an Italian team in the final, but that semifinal. This is truly incredible. We'll be in all Melania fair three three on the night, but enough to emerge 5 three victors over Benfica and feed A.C. Milan who dropped neutral stalling, Napoli, in Napoli, A.C. Milan defended with confidence and one incredible layout run set up handsome handsome Olivier Giroud for the only goal of the night. So we've got the only call from Milan that they needed of the night Napoli equalized late, but we're going to Derby Delano Nina semifinal two legs of the sun zero. That place will be on fire quite literally. The tifos and flames alone are worth tuning in for the football one behalf bad either. "Do we have to do it from our team? Or can we pick other people? No, you got to go from your own team. Sorry, guys. I know that limits it for you. Well, I was going to pick up overseas. No, you go first, David. Well, also, Jeremy. Mason, mason soy. I'll go Jordan Morris, even coming off the national team against Minnesota at home. I helped preview that much. You could watch that preview on Apple TV, by the way, MLS. You may have heard of that. But if you look at the last game, it was two goals back post runs Orlando. Where Minnesota fell asleep. And so whether it's rolled on in Morris or chewing Morris, I think there's those openings there out wide. So I'll say Jordan Morris plus. If you place for the national team coming off with a little bit of confidence, okay. All right, we got Willy gotta. Hopefully. No, he's going to come on for the final 25 minutes against the revs. Sporting will be down. We're just trying to prime the pump for all Willy. Willie's gonna get a consolation goal. Okay. That's it. I'll go Brandon Vasquez at home against Portland timbers. His second goal of the year? Yeah. Okay. We'll talk about him maybe in the transfer segment as well. That's coming right up. I am scraping around here. At home against Columbus. Columbus will open up, they'll go for it. Charlotte has scored, especially at home. I'm saying they're putting up goals. It's not like they're sitting 18 deep in whatever. So yeah, there you go. Yeah, because I can't trust. Maybe go, miku, but they're probably not going to play them I had a Champions League, or maybe not CBD. Sounds unlikely. You know what? I'm going to jump on the in LA. I'm going to see. Yeah, I think sometimes I think it's good that you went away from a guy on a team playing at home scoring to a guy on a team that hasn't scored in two weeks, but going back on the road to LA where they got shout out two weeks ago. They go through good. Go with your gut. And under says he has the field, and he's claimed Christian. Wait, I thought he put together a specific like Ross monster.

"Squad, there's lots of MLS talent getting run out to get the experience of pulling on the United States Jersey. A couple of gents stand out. First of all, the one European base player, my lord, it's poor, beautiful segen, dust, ostensibly, still on loan at Milan. That wonder of a Dutch American, such a joyful bloke. What's happened to him? A classic house soaring. I'm old enough to remember when he was linked to Manchester United. I mean, how'd you handicap surge his mindset now? He's unwanted in Milan, Barcelona have already briefed the press. They don't want him back. What kind of a trajectory is our manon? You know, sergino attracted a lot of interest. It wasn't just Barcelona at one point he had Bayern Munich. He had PSG interested in them while at Barcelona, where would he go before it was Milan? You mentioned it was Manchester United with Eric ten hawk his old manager. You don't attract that type of interest if you don't have something in your bag. If you're not a technically sound player. Unfortunately, one of the concerns that I had before I'm going to Milan was Serie A Italian football is a defender's leak. We've heard players like ector Moreno Mexican national team in that place for monterrey when he was in Europe. He said, I thought I knew how to defend. This legendary Mexican center back said, I thought I knew how to defend. Then I went to Italy and I learned that I knew nothing. So it's a different game defensively in Italy and finding that out. Virginia is a wizard with a ball at his feet and going forward. He struggles tactically, Raj, and that he's not been playing at Milan because of that now was shavi, you could say what you want about Barcelona, but if we look at this Barcelona under shabby Hernandez, the legendary Javier rennis re Barcelona, they're unbelievable defensively. They've had 9 goals scored on them all season. That's an insane record for any team. Let alone Barcelona and that tiki taka brand. You know, they're supposed to be an offensive juggernaut. They're supposed to be a team that prioritizes having the ball and here they are new skin being a team that prioritizes their defensive stability. So of course, sergino is not going to really have a place there. Unfortunately for sergino, he's allowed to be at this game because there's no need for him at Milan. He's not even in the Champions League roster. So he's here, much like Juliana Rao, the ex galaxy player who's at Mexican national team player who's at Barcelona as well right now who is most definitely the reason that there will be no space for sergino dest, shavi Hernandez has already spoken very well of him. He's not allowed to actually play first team football until next season. He's only training at the moment, but he trains with the first team in shabby, listen, very good player, physically, you know, great attributes, strong, good shot from distance, you know, he's gonna be good for us, talking about how he will be good for them next season. All without we know about shavi, he's spoken that desk wasn't for him and will not be for him. So sergino needs this game just as much as anybody else in this roster, both rosters. He needs this for lack of a better term to shake the rust off to promote himself to show other teams who are interested that he can still be that player for them. You talk about Julia now that I have to say, I loved you conversation with him last week on vamos. That's Southern California gent who choose el tree over the United States is at Barcelona right now. You can find that conversation on this very pod feed, but there's another gent who, in many ways, has dealt with some of the similar identity issues and is in the spotlight big time tonight, 24 years of age, FC Cincinnati striker, Brandon Vasquez, the pride of Chula Vista, California, grew up in sight of the Mexican border that his parents crossed, love shivas as a kid, started his career in the academy system with Tijuana, jewel eligibility, called up by both Mexico and U.S. at the youth level, said on Monday that he's heard nothing from the Mexico senior national team, so wants to focus on the U.S. side. I think he was pissed on the scene not to make our World Cup squad, passed over entirely, no secret, the U.S. needs to number 9, tell us about Brandon. How'd you handicap his strengths his weaknesses and where would you have him in the U.S. number 9 depth chop? So Brennan Vasquez is about 24 years of age and he's of the generation of the Tyler Adams, the Weston McKinney, the Haji writes the Christian politics of Luca dela toys and the Alejandro Sanders. They actually all played youth national team together. U 17s. He's a player that's very familiar with the setup here in the states. He's about 6 two 6 three 200 pounds, very soft feet, and what I mean by soft feet is for a player of that size and stature. He has a great ability of linking up with the midfield and other players around him at the wing position. He's a goal scorer, scored 18 goals last season, but he had 8 assists so it shows you his ability to understand tactically what he needs to do when he's not scoring goals. Great work ethic and he's a player that's, I don't want to say late bloomer, but he's really coming into his own. Now, the reason I say, I don't want to say late bloomer is because I feel like when he's been given an opportunity, which was just last season, he's proven it. Before that, he was a cholos, where he would only play youth football. He started out, I believe it was 2017 with Atlanta United. He was 18 years old. He's got the same story very much akin to Paula raiola, a border kid grew up in Southern California in Chula Vista with the ability to literally drive from his home in Chula Vista to Tijuana, drive from the border to Tijuana train and drive back home. So he's got this unique perspective on the game. Unique perspective, I would say on life.

"Our Golden Boot squads that we are guaranteeing is scoring. And so I don't know who's in first, but I am highlighting, congratulations, kalen, I got a text and also Tom. 16 goals, 8 assists so far this season for this squad, and that is even with honey and Brandon Vasquez on one goal apiece. So as you look at your team here, who are you guaranteeing scores a goal? Where's my squad? It's honeymoon. Brandon Vasquez, Jesus Ferreira, Denny, which was a great pick fourth. Picked forth on your team wow. Vince here. Sebastian Ferreira, not the best pick. Lucas L'oreal and a good one, facundo Torres, brinner, Martin ojeda, and shakiri, which is just. I'll be back. That's a Tom pick. I'm gonna go. I do like I'm between two. I've got belanga against Austin, which I like. Or I think I'm gonna go with a late pick that we had, which is delay on against D.C.. He went off against D.C. earlier this year and had two goals. So that matchup works well. I think D.C. plays. They are going to try it and condense the field, I think, to try to not allow Columbus space and I think those little runs that sell their real makes were just makes us a little curling runs ducking in behind that back hill to 80 more as I'm still just like be running one direction and just hit it perfectly behind you. That's not easy to do. Mind you hitting that first time also as cleanly as Aiden Morris did. I mean, that was impressive. So I think I'm gonna go with LA on in this one. I like to pick. I like to pick David goss and second just one goal behind you and Tommy scoops on 15. We'll pick somebody off his team at the end of this one who's in third oh Doyle, you've been just killing your team and I'm in last place. You're in third 14 goals you're only two back. I'm only two bet. You're only two back? Why is everybody backing on my team? I have Klaus. I have been tech a Jeremy bobas. He's got a couple. Willie's got one. Yeah. Who else do I? Well, yeah. Duncan Maguire's got one. So you might have, he might be coming back in.

It really is. <Silence> <SpeakerChange> I would <Speech_Male> say alarm <Speech_Male> here, her, <Speech_Male> not just for Joseph Martinez, <Speech_Male> but for <Speech_Male> inter Miami, I was watching <Speech_Male> this game with a very <Speech_Male> careful eye. <Speech_Male> I had Cincinnati's <Speech_Male> team total <Speech_Male> over <Speech_Male> one and a half. <Speech_Male> And if not <Speech_Male> for some very bad <Speech_Male> finishing for FC <Speech_Male> Cincinnati, they could have <Speech_Male> won this game to <Speech_Male> three, four, <Speech_Male> nothing. Brandon Vasquez <Speech_Male> had an amazing <Speech_Male> sitter. And <Speech_Male> actually, <Speech_Male> Cincinnati's manager <Speech_Male> pat Newman came out after <Speech_Male> the game and said, this was our <Speech_Male> worst performance of <Speech_Male> the year. He blamed guys <Speech_Male> coming back from the international <Speech_Male> break, and <Speech_Male> yet they still <Speech_Male> beat <Speech_Male> into Miami. What I would <Speech_Male> say her <Speech_Male> was pretty comfortably, <Speech_Male> right? It was one <Speech_Male> nothing in the second half, <Speech_Male> inter Miami was <Speech_Male> the team that needed <Speech_Male> to score. And <Speech_Male> FC Cincinnati <Speech_Male> looked like they were <Speech_Male> much more likely <Speech_Male> to get a goal <Speech_Male> before enter Miami. <Speech_Male> There's a lot of frustration <Speech_Male> you talk about with the LA <Speech_Male> galaxy. It's <Speech_Male> starting to happen within Miami. <Speech_Male> You watch body language <Speech_Male> around this team. <Speech_Male> Neville's <Speech_Male> getting upset on the <Speech_Male> sideline. I saw Deandre <Speech_Male> yedlin a guy who's <Speech_Male> usually pretty cool headed, <Speech_Male> getting frustrated in <Speech_Male> this game. I'm <Speech_Male> worried about inter <Speech_Male> Miami. They won their first <Speech_Male> two. They've <Speech_Male> lost four straight <Speech_Male> since and whenever <Speech_Male> we talk about Lionel Messi <Speech_Male> her. We always say, oh, <Speech_Male> they need him for off the field. <Speech_Male> MLS needs them <Speech_Male> for their Apple package, <Speech_Male> whatever. In <Speech_Male> her Miami needs something <Speech_Male> now for this season <Speech_Male> or it could go off <Speech_Male> the rails. They're tenth <Speech_Male> in the Eastern Conference. I <Speech_Male> know it's very, very early. <Speech_Male> If the season ended today, <Speech_Male> they'd be out <Speech_Male> of the playoffs. "The hope is veroni place his way into that. And you have the flexibility because Kalin said, Ferrero is like a DP signing who's not. So you can miss on veroni for a little while, or give him a chance to get to the level because you've hit on other signings around him. But I would say to morrow it would probably be Gustavo Bo and Dylan barrero. And it would be like somewhat of a false line situation, but you know Gustavo bow is going to get chances off Carlos heel. You know berea can take guys on an open space if he's playing as the one who's stretching the field for you from that more central position and as Doyle has talked about a lot, that would be a setup where you probably have a number of players in central midfield who can protect Carla seal and allow him to do whatever it is he wants and find the ball wherever he wants. Cool. We gave those dorks enough time, man. Planers in here to be fair to be fair. Pressure, honestly. Do you dorks from a store? It works. I played those kids. I don't want to deal with it. It is very rich. Hey, you dorks. We told us to work to talk about the revs for how many minutes. How many minutes was it on? You struggling with math in the chat right now. Anders is having a shocker that he got a new haircut and he looks like a suit, so it's just doesn't really do work anymore. He manages people. So he'll connect with us offline. Gotcha. Circle back, circle back. Okay, let's talk about those Cincinnati guys that may or may not be moving on. One guy we've been saying, hey, why don't you sign up to an extension? It might be advantageous for you as lucho Costa. Lucho, it sounds like chloro flower said that discussions are about to begin on a possible contract extension, Tommy scoops, followed that up with sources can confirm, since he and star number ten lucho Costa in early talks about a new contract. Lucho is under team control through 2024. There's a team option for sensi in 2024, like if it came push came to shove, they'd pick it up, obviously, but they'd like to get extended. Lucho is 28. He's the club captain. He's real good. I don't think we have to talk about that much more. We've said before, hey, yeah, he's probably figured this out. It would be good for the future of club, especially because Brenner and branna Vasquez may indeed move on. Brenner, we covered, and it may come back around here. As the hot stoves heats up, but Brandon Vasquez is the first we've heard. Tom and many others saying that Bruce and mochi and gladbach are indeed heavily interested in Brandon Vasquez, sky Germany, first reporting on that one, no offer yet still very early. Other clubs interested as well. What do you think about that, Caitlin? Well, not surprised.

"Alejandro Zendaya has scored a goal, one of his many goals that he scored for global America. Alejandro sent as one of the more important players with glue America certainly in his position certainly has a Mexican American and ligaments. Gio isn't the only name on this roster on the U.S. men's national team Nations League roster. Is also on this roster. And to talk all things Alejandro Sanders, his club America and his decision to represent the U.S. men's national team, I brought in my good friend Eric Gomez of ESPN, who's based out of Mexico City, a Mexican American living in Mexico City, insider league I met his insider, FMF, the football federation for Mexico. Finally, my good man Eric Gomez Eric, how are you doing? I'm doing great. Thank you so much. I'm glad to be here and happy to talk anything and everything Liam X and Mexico national team with you. Well, good, 'cause that's what I brought you for. You're my insider when it comes to the federation, the Mexican federation and Liga MX and there's a little intertwined story right now. Maybe not too many people are aware that they're aware of Alejandro sandez is kind of exploded onto the scene here in the United States. But maybe not his backstory. So I wanted to bring you on and kind of go through that. Alejandro sendejas born in sudar Juarez moved to El Paso at a very young age, El Paso that rich soil for, you know, being a footballing factory lately, the likes of Santa munoz, Riccardo Pepe, and that has so forth. A lot of good players out of there. So really quickly, give me your overall impressions of the maturation of Alejandro zendejas. When he exploded onto a scene of being an academy player at FC Dallas to a chiba player and maybe what didn't happen transpire there and has moved to neck cocks and eventually America. Yeah, first of all, that Rio Grande valley is different border region than the one I'm from, but there's certainly making Tijuana and San Diego look bad because they're developing a lot of great players as you mentioned. But sandek has is one of those guys. And I think his career has been so interesting. The arc that it's taken over the last 7, 8 years. I mean, he debuts for Dallas in 2015, as you mentioned FC Dallas, another one of those great town factories now in MLS. That same year he's playing for the United States under 17 team. He's with Christian Pulisic and Tyler Adams who go on. Of course, to have fantastic careers in Europe. Brandon Vasquez Luca Della Torre Atari Weston Weston McKinney, a bunch of players that are mainstays, just loaded team in all respects and he's playing under Oscar pareja there in Dallas. He catches the attention of chivas who find out that he was born in Juarez and not El Paso, as you all know, that was kind of an early controversy to his career because chiva is only accepted Mexican born players at the time. And then he goes there 2016. It seems like he's going to have a bright future, but in the end, he only stays pretty much on the bench. He's not a first team player in the entirety of that run. He gets 8 apps and moves on to second pick in the second division for a year on loan. When the time comes when he leaves us in 2020, his career is kind of in limbo. Nick axa picks him up and he just completely explodes. So he had started out and been playing mainly in the midfield towards the center as an 8. Really kind of untapped his potential by putting him on the wing and taking advantage of how good he is at cutting inside, finding finding strikers for assists in taking shots himself. So the mold of player that he's developed for himself the niche of these developed for himself over the last couple of years has been really impressive because it seems to me like he understood that he needed to untap different parts of his talent in order to play competitively in a league like Mexico that requires players to have that dual function in the midfield. By the time he gets to America, he's a completely different player than what we've seen in chivas and naka. And he has honestly been one of their three best players over the last year and a half. A lot of people have heard of ligaments and you know America is a big team, but just how big of a deal is America and Mexico and zendejas and what he's done there. And club America would be the Real Madrid in this scenario. They're the ones that go out and sign these big foreign players. They've had guys over the course of their history that have actually played for Real Madrid and Barcelona. And that type of really sort of big, big signing mentality and just assembling the collection of talent that will get you the league title at the end of the day. So in sendek has a scenario, I think it's really interesting because he didn't come in as a big signing, right? I mean, he was essentially kind of building his career back up after chivas and after FC Dallas. But he's really coming to his own for this club and again, I mean, now he's playing for one of the two biggest clubs in Mexico and I would daresay Concacaf.

"Louis got their flowers Cincinnati probably sitting around here and what 40 minutes in saying, where's ours? Dave? One nothing win. Sounders? Some interesting refereeing moments in this one. I'll direct you to instant replay. We won't devote airtime to those unless for whatever reason you feel passionate about them. A little bit of a little choppy. We'll choppy, but two quality teams, what'd you take away from Cincinnati's win? So I think you go from the start to dominate possession, which is not really how they comfortably play and look great at home, but not create the chances and then you get the goal in a pressing moment and then you're able to continue to be a dangerous over the course of the game, but for this team, there are Achilles heel last year was hanging on to leads. And being able to play a full 90 minutes at a high level and not open up the door by trying to push for the next chance. And we saw them drop a ton of points from winning positions last year and they got better, of course, the playoff game to be able to win laid on. This felt like a really big moment against a good opponent coming in, undefeated, and you're able to get ahead, lucho coast, I thought, looked really good in this game, writing tackles being physical, being someone you could play through in tough moments. Brenner's a guy that there was unsure. How's he going to come back? Didn't get to Nottingham Forest wasn't here in pre season. Down in Brazil, what's his mentality? How connected is he? He gets a goal. He had a couple really good looks as well. Brandon Vasquez looked fairly comfortable again being that guy who can be a finisher but it's also happy to be a facilitator for Brenner and lucho as well. Like a 60 yard pass on a dime at one point to lucho Acosta, which was obscene. There was a lot to like in this game and you don't have Santi Arias. You get the red card against you.

"Have, again, a spine of a team that laborda should be around for a while. Tristan blackman should be around for a while, Andres kubas, I think, is a key piece. Ryan called. And then you can start to mix and match around them. So those were some of the ones that jumped out to me. Are you surprised a little boarded in start in week and match day one? A little bit, yeah. It seemed like Vancouver played one team throughout preseason and then fanny sartini sort of reverted back right for the first game and we've talked a lot about what he said went wrong in preseason last year and why they got off to such a slow start and it sort of felt like a panic move right out the gates. I'm going to have a couple other teams here to throw out Cincinnati. So your core of sell and tano and goal. Who's not going anywhere at center back? I mean, he's their dude and defensive mill. We know how important that is. I think they're going to re sign lucho. I just can't see a world in which he's not staying there. And then yeah, brinner might be moving, but you have Vasquez, again, could move, but maybe they hold on to him with another contract. Yeah, so I get the Cincinnati take there. And gulo, they just signed a young cat on U 22 so he developed him up and then it's him and nobuo in the midfield. But I don't think Brenner and Brandon Vasquez will be there in a year. It definitely not. If you have lucha and you have their fees, doesn't matter. But I don't know that you have lucho. I heard that lucho was leaving this off season and lucho tried to leave D.C. and then it didn't work out. And then he did leave. And so I don't know that lucho is a part of that. If that was the case, I would agree with you. And you add in an Ian Murphy, players that can be there for a little while as well. I don't know. He's 22, and he's maybe going to explode. So maybe he doesn't. You got foster to back him up. One of those three attacking players has to be a part of that for you to convince me. I agree. Dallas is also one that we sort of talked about and throughout there. Whether it be the young attackers or the veterinary jet in midfield, the questions at center back and they're outside backs far fond and Jesus look really good and then pace, but it feels like it feels like far far legit areola and probably Paxton are going to be there for a while. So that feels like one of those teams that you could convince me. You would need a center back in there, but again, we're talking about teams that have four or 5 starters consistently that you can change. Dan McDonald hit us up said, be great, especially for new listeners to discuss all the trophies and competition and what it takes to win them also include leagues cup as if I wasn't going to include leagues cup Dan. It's a great review. He says for new Apple TV, ML season pass viewers. So in order of prestige and then you can tell the fine folks what it takes to win them, Dave. Obviously number one for me. I am not Doyle. I'm not a truth or MLS cup is number one by far.

I think they're going to build around him under non say and some belief in Columbus. So cucho is the first player that I take. And anytime you could pick a striker who's being fed by alexandro Matan, you just have to go with that guy. That's just goals on goals and goals. Tom, you're up. Lookalike Stephen Maria, right? There you go. I'm going to go with Brandon Vasquez. I think that last year wasn't a blip that that was a trend.

The Points League

"I think we got to figure out, are we going to go to a loan strike or how are we going to handle the number 9 position? I'm all in on just doing a single center forward and allowing the speed and the midfield around us to kind of feed a guy that has a knack for putting the ball in the back of the goal. That's not necessarily burr halter style, but you know, that I would like to see that. We'll see. But like you mentioned here guys moving move in different places to get the potential moves of a few other folks. Pulisic, who needs minutes, as good as TAs, nobody's good on the bench. So he's got to find time and form to find that creativity and that spark that he has. He's going to get the same treatment in the World Cup that he gets in conflict or he's just getting beat up on. That level at any level, really, if you find the best players rag on them all game, right? So and I don't necessarily best player. He's the face of the team, and you know who I think is the best player. And I'm happy that he's back. And seems to be almost built to how he comes back from injuries is a crazy enough and but we'll see how it goes. I mean, EPL, some interesting fixtures already. He's mentoring student results already. I don't take any stock in the first month to be quite honest, you know, the craziest of crazies can happen right now. And that's fine. It's just the first month. I mean, it's just going to awkward year based on the World Cup and some other things. It's a warm for the work club in the winter time. We would be coming out of the World Cup right now or a few weeks ago, right? So I think it's just an interesting time people are steadily in and trying to find a groove and whatnot. And convince them out of the talent, the players playing and EPL that are going to go over the World Cup. So now you're going to see some funky results. I mean, you can't defend your team, though, right? Man, you. So, but again, the funky of the can happen. I'm not going to write it right off menu at this point. They'll be competitive at some point, but certainly need to make some maneuvers. They just seem sort of lifeless early on, but a lot of teams look a little flat. And then you get 9 a.m. come out really, really sharp in the first couple of weeks, like they kind of win the other night, but look really sharp, but can they continue on? And there's another lower table teams that will move their way up into the middle of pack and knock on the door for a while. But you're like most things cream will rise to the top, and we'll see the top 6, usually be about this top 6 this week, but right now. Yeah. Yeah, you said quite a bit there going from U.S. men's national team right into the Premier League. I'm going to go back to some of the things you said at the very beginning with the U.S. men's national team. And I think the biggest question the question that's going to be asked throughout the fall is who is going to be the number 9. I think right now there's 7 guys who are in the mix with Jesus Ferreira, pfas, even FC Cincinnati's Brandon Vasquez has been getting chatted off. He's had a fantastic season.
