"Know talking about how we can get a little bit better even. So going forward I got the truck when tomorrow with. After the truck races and Kansas as well. So my my week. I'M GONNA try to get to our course, go kart track around here in North Carolina and get ready for these row courses coming up So all that stuff is what may be prepping for absolutely couple of things I want to talk to you about the road courses are coming up like you mentioned it's it's like Road America and Daytona road course you're prepping by go-karting any I racing as well a little bit a little bit of IRA things. But I think that you know we we do get job at Toyota of. Replicating the tracks are are Toyota. Simulator that you know our drivers get their Ryan and So I, think that really helps a bunch coming in these races right now with no practice or anything we have a pretty good advantage I feel of. Most Gar. Most guys only gets the track because we've just had so many I guess virtual APPs at the track and they do a good job of of gaining track making realistic as possible. So all that stuff really helps Before we get to the track round with Brandon Jones, you won a truck series race I don't know about month ago or so what's your schedule look like for that? I've got one more or less this year I've got Martinsville on my schedule and Just. Try Your as xfinity race man I haven't been Martinsville in a long time and. It's GonNa be it's GonNa be a cool and what car cars coming back and and all that. So that's GONNA. Be My last one there with those guys and maybe I can get one more before I close out the year with how what are you driving at home these days I, noticed you had a tweet earlier this month you're underneath a classic car looked like a pickup truck. Yeah. That's that was my great grandfather's truck and that's been the family for a long time and Some something to go out and have a little bit of fun with. My daily drivers I've been fortunate enough to get my hands on a new new forerunner and So that's my run around car here lately, enjoying that there's much can there. So I I enjoy getting out with them with some fun cars and Say. Cruise around a little bit have you had a chance to drive a production? Super I actually personally have not my team mate Harrison got one you really soon after they came out. And he drives it every day. So he he enjoys it definitely friends a lot ahead. I've had a bunch of people on the past that I've known to have the generation that ninety seven's and stuff and. That was always you know one of my favorite cards growing up with fast and furious and all that you know they I think they really made that car come to live with that show and I've always always wanted to get my hands on on. You'd think you know given what you do for a living they might be able to hook you up at least with a test drive. No kidding I I know that you know I'm sure eventually down the road once we once were able to go back to normal that the super a pace car you know throughout couples racism. So you know they all get a chance to to go right around the pace car something time. All right. So looking ahead to this weekend, it's Road America. The place is so long I think it could take a bathroom break between laps What's your outlook for that place? Added a big of course and you know road racer I'm sure they love it. I mean it's got the best of every world. You know you've got surprise feeds actions you've got slow you got elevation changes, all kinds of stuff at that racetrack So that's a that's a fun road course but they've challenging man I mean especially coming in there with no practice or anything I go back to what I said before that simulator just health so much Um. With you know getting your break points back Kinda looking for markers again. So last year there have a great practice, but we actually ended up having a decent rate so I'm looking forward to. Go back every year that I come to the road courses. I have way more confidence. You know I have way more knowledge than I did before of of the place. So I'm sure this time around I'll I'll be pretty prepared for it and then a bunch of de tracks. Daytona road course have you had a chance to do the Rolex twenty four I haven't called that's GonNa be interesting that would have been helpful. That would that would be big at at the same time I I'm sure that those cars that run on that track are you know way beyond what our cars people doing and that's something that I've ran into in the past with Ronin Series and stuff and I think they helped so much with getting. You know visuals down but it does help any with you know how you drive the track you know because they're just so different markers or so heavy they don't to turn back left or right really quick whereas you know that's designed for it really really makes you feel like you're Super Pan out there..

"This is GonNa Find Link. On the final with us today once again on the program Brandon Jones Kansas winner that's gotta sound pretty good. Welcome to the show. Yeah Man. Absolutely. It was about good good. A couple of weeks that all weekend I'm I'm. Coming into a road American man, it's GonNa be. A. Pretty. Pretty far weekend with the mortgage coming up. Absolutely get back to your win at Kansas Let's talk about that. Restart that landed. You the win as candidate. I think you were like four rows back on that restart. Man I would have never guessed. You know re-started seven like that that I would have had a shot but I didn't get a yeah great restart a great launch tires a little bit. I been struggling all day trying to get just a little bit of Griffin, the tire to take off But when I got determined one man I I. Used up as much as I could trying to regain some momentum. and some guys you know tried up the center of the corner which was basically opened the door up to to get hurt you know come off at turn to and Once the once their twenty to thirty nine, we're kind of side by side Then it was game over for them. So that was just a great great way to end the race i. think we just kind of allies. Used up everything that that we could there. Watching, the replay again, the TV announcers didn't give you the time of day until you were already, they're like on his quarter panel. I went back and am watching my health and it was it was kinda funny because it was like you know I came out of nowhere you know where the the nineteen even come from and You know it was it was interesting because I was watching couple of cars got bogged up on bottled up and when I'm watching the broadcast and our third and they and they were saying, you know maybe twenty to thirty nine where we're going to beat the odds to capitalize and win on it right? And it just seemed like You know there's there's so much shock, but I got the lead. So very very you know fun and cool and a good way to you know in the race with that with that watch check and restore they always produce really get finishes. Now that said is victory lane a little bit different for you guys these days without the massive amounts of media and fans around and that kind of thing that is very different. You know I'm such a big teen guy have by my team guys in there with me and you know with everything going on it You know unable to get them in victory lane with us all so yeah that that Kinda hurts a little bit but today we still get back to the shop and we all can get away from from the track and celebrate a little bit there. So that's the only difference you know and you get out there's no crazy screaming going on in the stands or anything so. Whenever whenever you win and I think the difference that I've noticed without the fans you know we have red flag things that. Have we gotta come to a stop you know typically that the. Defense. Could swarmed with what people and you can hear people yelling and all kinds of stuff and Now that what mayor that all that goes away whatever it is a little different it's it's almost like like an insurance TV commercial you out and you're cheering and screaming, and you're the only one there. Yeah exactly. It's it's weird stuff. Are you got two wins onto your belt for the season You've got to feel pretty confident Obviously, you've got a playoff berth already. So take a little more risks throughout the rest of the season on this. Definitely how with what that Yeah we we had a string of of some races like four in a row that just continued to the not go away and So that was good to see us finally get some stiffness me back in our car gets them. Hug Back on our side even and still show that we're able to compete for the wins and so yeah, we're we're we're staying right now I think we can. We can still do a couple of things that we have to do put ourselves in position to strictly on the race playoff points are going to be so big right now to know a lot of cars or in some boy off point. So we definitely need to to work on making sure we give many of those as we can because we get to you know to the first round here we're not much. Lincoln get. Yeah. You've been on our radar to to to book you on the show for a while now, and then you had that string a bad luck I'm like, Oh, maybe not this week not this week. Oh, he won at Kansas Perfect. That that's definitely joy of one of these races. That opened the core up to on a bunch of shows they get out there a little bit absolutely. So in your view who are the guys to beat, it looks like Austin Syndrich is a at least in recent weeks, and of course, chase briscoe with all those winds I'm I'm GonNa say Tastes Briscoe is going to be hard he's a contender for sure this. Year and band, Senator Syndrich stats and speed to like you said he's he's been thrive place the rights I'm here lately it seems like he's really starting to you know you know be methodical in the racist and God take getting air so I mean there there's some there's some serious competitors even hear some burden and our campus been shown she. You know a couple of wins they're competing for for Wednesday still. So we've got a lot of competition, but I think that we're definitely going to be final four at the end of the year. Everything goes right? Absolutely absolutely now, xfinity series. So Fun to watch this season. You mentioned all those guys It's it's really cool to see you guys battling out each and every week off weekend would would you do to keep busy man my weakest filling up? I've got. I've got some meetings this week you know after after every race, we have competition meeting at the shops or over zoom and just depends just depends on which company, and so I've got the meetings this week and and you know talking about how we can get a little bit better even. So going forward I got the truck when tomorrow with. After the truck races and Kansas as well..

"Yesterday got together Dale. EARNHARDT shouldn't even been messing with me. In the first place is flip the script on him, and was he do wipe is out here's stories. You've never heard before. In a ten part series called the nineteen ninety three seasons at. Marseille said he wouldn't talk to him. So mark goes on to win four races in a row after that you can download it for free on I tunes handed Marin Dot Com right now. This is NASCAR live. Now back to Mike Bagley. Back to Nascar Live Brandon Jones picked up his second win of the season this past weekend in the NASCAR xfinity series Kansas Lottery to fifty at Kansas speedway Moran's woody, Cain talked with Brandon about that win and his run for the title Rand Jones joins us now from Joe Gibbs racing the most recent winner in the xfinity series and Brandon. That has a pretty nice ring to it. I guess for your ears second win of the season. Season you're up to fourth in the standings. And now you get a little breather to enjoy it for a little bit. No kidding man I mean not a better way to end it on off weekend into now to go and take a breath you know Kinda. Go recuperate a bit and That was the longest week five admit I've never actually competed all header like that and you go back in history and you know and. All those guys were that I mean that is just unreal that you know they were able to do that. Put their bodies through that because that was pretty brutal. I mean Kansas was ought. Every single day, and it didn't matter. It feels a nighttime rates for trucks or listen to take. It was all ought so. Reverend my body for that was a big challenge. For coming into that, you know I I try to limit no caffeine at all now. Something way different. I was doing you know in trying to really put a bunch of water in meal electrolytes. On so all that kind of payoff at the end and the two-truck prices I think honestly did out expending race soon as like after the car. You know I knew exactly what why was was working. What wasn't working you know? A lot of differences between all trace and the way the trump drives compared to the community card, but the winds of the tire were were very similar, so. I think that was a pretty good advantage going at race well, let's talk a little bit about the the double triple duty thing about a month ago. You WanNA truck race. And then it seemed like the bad luck just jumped on your back and started punching you in the back of the head. You couldn't get out of anything. It seemed like anybody's way all the wrecks. Wrecks happened right around you, but here lately you had a really good run at Texas and then you get the win at Kansas. Does it feel like you've turned things around I? Mean not that you weren't fast the whole time, but man sometimes lot just as is all over you. Yes, absolutely and I came to Texas. You know I just wanted to finish. Texas I. Mentioned a man. We had a string there that. Is the NFL DNA and just get so frustrating. After a while going back into nothing you can really. Do you know you look like done that better one when the change outcome any and So that was what Texas was all about for me was rebounding. There was some times I could have forced some issues on people I thought I could have been a little bit more aggressive, but I looked at the of them up. You just gotTa Finish race and. Learning anything by not not doing that so We were able to do so there. We had a bunch of speed at Texas just don't think we are in the right place. At the right time, they will track -sition. Coming into Kansas had a bunch of competency. That was the first win for me last year. There um so so as I was studying that raise installed at a bunch come into that race and. We really weren't the dominant car. At times, we were very fast running times get his leader was in. If not better in that race, but I thought it was a halt. We're maybe. Third or fourth place car and Those Restarts Mad. The end it came down to that two times the past two years. And I've worked a lot on that on this off season, and throughout the entire season this year was I embedded those restarts. Now that's where you start. Looking at little details is pit road. It's restarts It's optimized the whole lap after restart. So I think all the all the things that I'm doing is the right direction. And it's it's Kinda showing them pay off for mayor. I think on the Cup side. The Arrow thing is a little bit more pronounced where a guy could get up front and stay there, but even the expenditure series. It seems like most of the action is restart. See, many instances anymore of a guy, just flat, running somebody down and driving away from him. Do you not really? I mean we. We are so close and I think all three series at this point are the top twelve to fifteen man. We run such tight latte times that you know you. You're at the mercy of them messing up pretty much I'm a year trying to pressure them the entire time in slipping, and it's just a tenth of a second each lap and that intially equates to a bunch of a bunch. Bunch of position and so on. If you're just barely optimize the tire in the attract will be better than the guy in front of you. Then you know eventually you're going to get him, but it is crazy and there's times that you know when you're when you're going under ninety two hundred the era so much bigger than you're going on a restart, so that's where you see. Those guys really trying to make a time because the Arrow. Kinda goes out the window on those restarts. Obviously, you see guys side driving art. On restarts, but it isn't as big as when you vote somebody behind him Illinois you know two hundred versus a hundred so on. That's kind of kind of where you see those guys really making moods because car is handled great for restart, so you can make some time there. Then it's GonNa. Be Hard for that guy to pass you when you get on the series. Another big difference to me is the composite body over. Over a year without under our belts, now The cup. Guys say a of times man. We can't keep the vendors off the wheels. When we have just a little minor bit of contact the extremity series you seem to be able to take a lick and keep on rolling. What has been your experience with this composite body? How do you like it? Yeah, I think it's I think it's great man I mean there are. Plenty of times that we've all taken hits that would enter day in the cup series on a percent and. I go back on before these races and watch film from previous rates, and you can actually really start seeing you know people the wall. What is the car in? It's it's very minor and. I've at incidents this year that we've hit the wall couple times or other kept yawn and no issues and eventually. You'RE GONNA. Run into a hard enough. You know the new providence breaking parts break. Suspension components so honestly those things take you out of the race, but yeah I mean he's bodies. These bodies pulled up fairly well and you need. off the alcohol and keep going, and that's great for places like Kansas Homestead. Mean those are all tracks a year. Know up against the fence and you just don't think you can do it without bouncing off the wall if you're going to be competitive, funding your mizen every bit of that track..

"Week? Cue The music music music music. So Ryan Newman was on hand over there at Phoenix. Last weekend briefly said he was happy to be alive. And that's numb are questions Guess he denied interviews probably because he had today show in his back pocket on. Nbc sounds painful. Selling something very painful back pocket. But if you're going to do your first interview after something like that. I mean they show be pretty pretty big place to do it then. Why show up? I don't understand well. I mean he kind of wanted to get back into the groove with this with this team and everything. I'm I mean. He had to have known that would have caused a little bit of a stir. Well Yeah Bob alone is going to bug the heck out of you. And he did to Bob's credit absolutely but they did get a few words out of them at least It was kind of awkward and it looked very forced and it was but To THE NASCAR MEDIA CREDIT. They did the best they could with the situation. They had at hand We got the full story. Well at least the full story that they're willing to tell us to this point of what happened with Ryan. Newman Yep Bruce Brain unconscious not good. No those aren't Things that You like to hear although Bruce Brain is basically a concussion. Correct right there sugar coating it for sure I mean. Isn't that what a bruise brain is? Isn't that when a concussion? They didn't really say it that way. Did they know it? Didn't I don't really? I'm not a medical doctor. So there's probably more clarification to that than I am privy to. Its being. You don't want nothing to see here move along but I've always been you know kind of let known that a bruised or swollen brain would be part of concussion but I don't know I'm not an expert The other thing is The big part of this is unconscious. We haven't heard anybody say that he was unconscious at any point during this to this point so After the crash happened at some point he lost consciousness So that's a big piece of this puzzle here and also said the roll cage which we kind of suspected was compromised when it was slammed into At two hundred miles an.

"Testing Does that Mean you need to use a e Simin. I racing and all that stuff a little more. Yeah you have to pay attention more to your resources You know we've got great great Great Cup drivers. We got some good. I think externally drivers came over. And we've got a Toyota simulator. Which is phenomenal. Wait we wear that thing out before we come to track every week we get a version of S and T. Now we get to us so all that stuff man is is very very big watching your films before you come here watching or paying attention to your notes that you wrote down from the previous races. So there's a lot of stuff you gotTa do before you come to the track to to be able to get there but I feel like our prep work showing off pretty good this year. So you hear that kids. Homework doesn't stop when once you become a big time. Racecar driver right. That's it man. That's nothing to find for it. You know you think you're GONNA be able to climb on these things and it's going to be a piece of cake but there's a lot of stuff you want to be great these these simulators. I mean ten fifteen years ago. It used to be a cool game. You played now. It's actually a useful tool Yeah it's it's it's beyond my head at this point now because of what drives them and what what it takes to operate one. There's a lot of moving parts but they're hopeful that Pretty big but I you know. I think that I think it's helpful. And you know one of the things that you see some of the even the cub drivers now you know Williams is a big spokesman for I racing and that's one of the things that kids at home can do before maybe started wanting to become racers and that might drive them to WanNa become racers one eight and it's helping them out to. That's pretty cool. I talked to William just recently today and he actually owns a Assem team. Now it's crazy it's becoming business actually had a friend from a long time ago and I was big into the erasing. He's actually on Williams team now almost one their their daytona ratio. Pretty cool man to to be able to see what it takes to be an eraser. It's it's pretty cool. Those guys recruit cheese on themselves are making their own setups and all that stuff is great. I mean that's teaching you a bunch of different stuff that That you never got before you see yourself. Maybe after he retired. Maybe doing that fulltime. I don't think so man I I have. I have a a life after this. I Love I love doing military work and working with those guys and In with a with a few contracts that civilian contracts that kind of helped train some of our guys and provide live fire and live drills for them so. I think I was ever to to be done with this. Maybe switch over to that side of things and have fun with them. But I'm in it right now to try to get to the cup level in this in this sport. That's where I WANNA be. You know at point my life at someday so like you said doing all your homework doing all the right things. Just trying to lead up to that point I saw the The super pace cars right outside here. They look amazing. Have you had a chance to drive one of those we? We've done a lot of work with Toyota on them. A lot of really cool car really sporty car we just released a couple of different ones in Daytona and we released the GP four race version. Then so pretty. Cool stuff man. That car is really looking nice. What do you drive personally? I drive a forerunner personally. I I've got a brand new twenty. Twenty T R D awesome awesome machine army. Greens fits me pretty well. But it's a fun run around car for sure you into mods at all on it. I I don't I haven't got the the what's okay from Toyota on it so they actually provided me with the car. I was fortunate enough to pick it out and find what I wanted. So that was pretty cool but I I haven't done much to it actually as a couple of upgrades from tr on their pro level of things. There's a couple of winding and stuff that I wanted to at least tinted. Yeah exactly I WANNA get some cool The big cool military stars or something to put in the back windows and stuff. I think that would be pretty cool as on your twitter account here. You've been given away sunglasses. That's kind of cool. Yeah this is second year now teaming up with Wiley ex and That that's A. That's a fun partnership with those guys and you see all the people that are on while the eggs and It's it's all quality drivers all some of the best of the best So to kind of named that list. That's something to be proud of like and you give away a lot. So there's good good odds absolutely. I mean if you if you follow pages brand Jones Racing Brynjar. Ac twitter all that good stuff you never know what pops up. You're going to get a hat giveaway. Sunglasses all kinds of cool stuff Preseason you guys do a lot of photo shoots and video stuff for TV and is that something you never thought you'd be doing When you said Hey I want to be a race car driver. That's the stuff they leave out. That's for sure but Per production is huge. In the off season I mean we're making new content for our sponsors. That are coming up. You know stuff that Fox and NBC is doing so all that good stuff is what's going on behind the scenes and some of it's really cool. I think that the the production things that they come up with are pretty impressive. Sometimes they make you do some weird stuff you ever think. Hey what is that going to be and then on TV and like Oh. That's kind of cool all the time. there's a couple of shoots that I've done on my man. There's no way that this is going to turn out and sure enough man you see it you know. They put it all together. Smokes that actually? That actually was pretty pretty awesome. So yeah there's there's been multiple times that I've said that obviously safety a big topic recently in Nascar. It's incredible. Is there anything you could see yourself adding or seeing them? Add to a production car that you and I drive on the streets. That NASCAR hasn't it. It should have a man. That's doll I don't know I don't know what the right answer. That is DR driving big trucks. I guess everybody would be okay but No Man it's it's impressive to see what what we've been able to accomplish. I mean from you. Know from from having avenue casualties in the sport now having a wreck like that and walking away out of it within days I mean. That's that's impressive recently. I've I've switched everything. I owned a carbon in the car.

He pulled he's pulling he's pulling away totally awesome and we've got another guest that you set up for later on in the program. I mean yeah it's a fantasy guru you'll probably all recognize this guy is Rowdy Dragon. He St Perennial champion of Fantasy League. That seems pretty much every year. He spanks as all. Yeah so he has been gracious enough to come forward. I think he's introducing himself this week. We're hoping to get some fancy advice from him in weeks after this one. So yeah it'll be cool to have him kind of swing in and tell us all about fantasy racing and maybe help us out on our line a little bit because we need some help. You definitely need help carry. Oh there's no question Absolutely I think he's going to help us out but I don't think he's going to give away the farm. I mean he's he's got a system down that you know he's in the Lee all the time. Yeah if he could at least just give us one guy too for sure. Pick one guy too for sure not pick. I'd be okay with that. That would it be helpful. Yeah because I usually pick all of the ones that I shouldn't right so if you get one of those eliminated you'll know and the one week where I think I have a solid lineup and it turns out I did? It didn't hold. It didn't take. Was that a vegas now. I thought that was auto club because I had Jimmy Johnson in there. Because that would be the reason you didn't like Vegas. That was also no. I really like Auto Club. I think they should leave the surface alone for how much longer just forever. Just if there's chunks potholes whatever that's that's too bad and go around it. Bouncy who cares okay. It's already bouncy so it's true it is so we've another track this kind of worn out this weekend to by the way that'd be fun. Atlanta Motor speedway. Yeah we're going to talk about that too It seems we've got a full show. I don't know why we're messing around with With idle Chitchat. It's almost like we just don't care about the time limits anymore. You know what it is. It's like we. We were so used to this in the off season of just trying to get through a segment As best as possible. Now we're experts at it. Yeah and we're just super cash now right stopping us all right NASCAR. Cup series racing from Phoenix. Where the intense racing of two thousand twenty continued chase? Elliott was the pole sitter and he led a tunnel APPs. Brad Kozlowski also lead. And let's just say Brag Caskey lead Brad Keselowski get stuffed into the wall by Denny. Hamlin came back and led this thing a shot to win. That's crazy. Had part of his car gone. Yeah what was that like I when that happened? I said well these three are all done meeting Hamlin Kozlowski and Ryan Blaney Planning was done. Hamlin was not a competitor of the rest of the way for the win. Yep Brad Keselowski. I cannot believe how fast that car was that crash. That was weird. Actually there was. Someone should look into that. Let's break it down ten to one. Let's see how they did in Phoenix. William Byron number ten solid top ten. He kind of knew that I think tennis first top ten. Maybe second ever know this year. Oh I'm like what no I'm not the next guy next guy number nine since I ever top ten well. That's pretty solid. I've got him in the can and in the radio business. That means I have an interview ready and waiting. But we haven't heard it yet right. So Cole custer rookie of the year contender number nine. That's the best finish for rookie contender so far in this early season for races. In of course Tyler Radic was looking pretty good earlier in the race but and being quite at the finish deserved. Martin tricks juniors favorite driver of all time Eric. Merola number eight. What are the controversial moment? That was to man Eric. I'm roller keeps getting solid finishes test. What two straight top tens in a row for him you tell me you're the bad guy pretty sure it is and I can't remember yesterday. I know I know you can't remember much unless it's Jimmy related him here in the top ten. So don't care. Was there even a race? Yeah there there was a race Kerry. Yeah so Eric Emerald. Two straight top tens and Now on the Martin Junior Christmas card list. Yeah definitely not Kurt. Busch at number six. Clint Boyer number skipped the driver in this hour chance. Elliot I FORGOT. Yes missed him. We mentioned above top. We did he let a lot of absence thing. I think it was the race high by the way And had a loose wheel had to pit one lap down cut lap back worked his way back up but was never really contender for the win. After that but solid top ten still now see. That wouldn't happen if this was in the future. That's right he'd had the one leg and that'll be it and he'd be set so it's loose probably fall off for those eight. The Rule Change. They should be embracing it. Now since the sport's most driver was swarmed here with this this loose wheel he was thwarted. He was he was foiled. Tried to work that in. Kurt Busch six Boyer Five. Anything interesting from them. Glenn Boyer this is actually pretty good. I mean I don't know what you expected early in the season but I wasn't expecting many top five's out of out of the gate so now do never do from him. Well I'm just being honest. He talks a lot but that's about it. He does speak a lot of words Couple of Kyle's here on the list Larson at four Bush at three. Yeah there's a kyle. Something here going on. That's really cool. Kyle Larson by the way. This is his fourth straight top ten finish at Phoenix raceway..

"So you made the round of twelve what do you? Do to do better. Just a little more luck. I cost you a little bit of everything. Really? I think my cue racing. I q needs to be brought up a little bit more still still learning some stuff about the tracks. We need everything to be put together and have a good race. You know, sometimes we'll we have pit issues. Sometimes I'd do something on my behalf. So all just gonna needs to come together. And then have just a pitch perfect day really to to win one of these things. Are you still with one thousand next year? I hope so everything is hopefully, hopefully going to stay there. We haven't announced anything yet. But hopefully, what the what the year closing out. We can get something out pretty soon on that. I notice you're getting ready for archery season. I guess yeah. Hopefully, I get some time this year, and then the year kind of hard to get out and do it with with being fulltime in the sport and really trying to learn and try and be a student. It's really a Monday through Sunday job trying to trying to get this done. So I try to find a little free time to do that. I've also had a little company I've been trying to open up a hot rod shop in mooresville North Carolina there. So that's something to be playing with as well, I've got a couple of things going on so run. Hundred eighty miles an hour doing what kind of stuff you're going to pump out of that shop. Yeah, we're we're doing pretty much any kind of metal fab. So we're building full cars. We actually just built a full setup plate to Bill chassis is on if someone has a chassis. They wanted Don. Or are. We can do anything that involves metal pretty much Bill. Metal chairs metal furniture cars, whatever you name it. So is this race cars are public cars. More St. street, rod stuff, hot rods and lifted trucks and semi zone, and whatever whatever you get. So that's what we got going on right now at that house, and I noticed you do some ocean fishing to. Yeah. We actually just got a brand new fishing boat. We had a beautiful one. I don't know why we had to get rid of the for whatever reason he was ready to upgrade to the next thing. So we get something actually came today in Florida data. Everybody's down there picking that up and having fun right now on it. So we do enjoy it didn't joy outdoors. Enjoy seeing and everything that God created forced to half on on. It's it's it's a blast to get out there and do it. So someone else out there is driving Brandon Jones boat actually dad's driving dad's boat. Not just going to go play. Whenever I get some free time on it. Okay. So Jimmy Johnson's going to have the luxury of driving an f one car is there anything that you'd like to do in the future in the way of another vehicle, man. I love semi trucks. I know it sounds funny me and my truck driver, actually, really close, and we have a lot of fun. You know, looking at all the custom trucks, especially out west when you come here. There's normally some really pretty shined up drugs I hear so I have driven one before. But I think a custom custom Peterbilt Freightliner or something. It'd be fun to go to drive. All right. So do you ever? Find yourself watching the Cup series race just to get some pointers or tips or anything like that. I try to I really enjoy going and looking at the highlights as much as anything, you know. And sometimes it's hard to sit down from lap one to go to four hundred laps and then watch everything, but I'm sure I have a different perspective than you know, somebody. That's just you know, an average fan that'd be watching. It definitely look for different things to try to help myself for the for the next time we go to the racetrack. So do they need? A short and the racist. 'cause the drivers can't even sit through them. It's it's tough. It's different. When you're in the race, man, you're so focused you're into it. You're trying to figure out how to get the car better. Sometimes though, they get so strong out and they get so paste out that for me..

"Earnhardt, jR voice. He's here for dinner, you that would be wild. Hey coming up next. We've got I don't know who he got its Jones, right? Yeah. Brandon Jones I talked to Brandon Jones next on the final lap weekly. Are you are you? Sure. Now. Final lap weekly is on. This is the final weekly. On violent with us today. Is there Brandon Jones once again, welcome to the program yet? Thanks for having us back on. All right. So Rachel season. I'm in your here at the end doing good stuff. Right. Yeah. I wish I the only thing I wish we could have done has made to the last round or tried to at least have an attempt to make to the last round. The the robo was the big question at all on our minds this year. And ultimately, it probably was the one that kind of threw us out a little bit. But we had some great tracks. After that. We've had a great season from start to finish. I feel like as well. I think I've learned a ton of stuff done new information abused at all the way up until this point. And I'm still learning obviously new things every week become the track. I think Phoenix. This weekend's a great kind of testament to to see how much have learned from the Phoenix one to now being to speaking of the Roble. How was it after you've experienced it? Based on the patient for it. I I mean, I think it was great for the fans to see into watch. And for me, it was difficult. But I think I did learn a lot when I come back for next time. If they if they continue to do that in the future. So we'll just have to see whenever that time comes again. But definitely earn some some stuff and what's conservative the first time. I was there but have to attack again, probably next time or so for here at Phoenix. They went ahead and move the start finish line. That must have been a board room, you know, evil guy going, no kidding. I I run on the track. I came on and said all right wanted to doing this three and four is doing this. And I said, wait a minute flip-flop those two numbers. I just told you because I was backwards. So we've been struggling with that. But they've done a great job with the facility. I think money well-spent for sure with this renovation. They just did great for the fans great for everybody to kind of interact with the drivers and gave us some garage salts taste. So I can't complain there. It's really nice. I mean, I it's hard to even describe how nice everything is. I took a walk over by the I guess it's turned four now. The fan experience. It's amazing. Yeah. For sure, and you know, another thing too for a driver standpoint is that the pit road is. So why the pit boxes are probably the biggest because I think we have on on a circuit. Now. I think Indy was up there on forty foot box. This has got forty three foot boxes. So they're huge big boxes lottery. My pit road. So very very different. And I'm living in the lap of luxury there in the media center. It's fantastic. I need to go check that out over there. And that's because I heard it's pretty impressive. It's more that way, actually. Well. Yeah. This wherever it crossed up. Exactly. Okay. So recently, it was just announced that you've got a new teammate at least in the Cup series. His name's Martin tricks junior or something like that. He's not a bad one. I have on your side share. It'd be cool to be able to get to talk to him a little bit. Hopefully and pick his brain some they've always had a great season. So far, we've got a we've got a great group of drivers a j GR all of them are honestly, it's some of the top drivers in the sport right now. So lots of knowledge for someone like me still trying to learn a little bit to go and talk to..

"So let's see how long this tradition last, but it's going to start here with number one in this book. I don't know if I could go and complete order or they might sue us some day. But number one. Here we go you ready for this. I'm sitting what is the best time to go to the dentist? I dunno two-thirty. Yeah. That's definitely a dad joke. Tooth hertie. Yeah. I got it. I got. All right. So Dan, the show we're going to chat with Brandon Jones. And we're also going to feature the final four drivers from both the truck annex Finnity series right on this year program. You know, we pretty much. I think we wore out are welcome with the Cup series top sixteen. Right. So we're gonna go with Brandon Jones before your Jones. Yes. Okay. That's the plan. We discovered that. We we actually did air. The Chris butcher interview twice now. Right. We speculated to ourselves. I don't know if it was on the air, but about whether we had played them before. But why would we look that up before we try it? So we didn't and played it before. Well, it was so good. We figured why not it was. I mean, we had a lot of good chat during that interview. That's right. That's right. So Brandon Jones on this program. We're thinking about Eric Jones next week. Yes, you're gonna definitely hear about how. Urge Jones feels about people celebrating him during Halloween. All right. So it's a timely and topical. Very timely. Very tall. All right. All right. Well, we, you know, when we do these interviews we kind of plan for the future, but sometimes a a timely thing slips in there. And it's okay. I mean, I figured you know, big name, Dr earlier Jones would air it before it was out of date, but not not here. No, no, certainly not not on this program. We were probably busy, you know, planning one for like, Kevin Conway or something have we done the land in castle interview before Eric Jones. Did we do Landon castle? I think we have are you? Sure, I don't remember that being on here. All right. Well, maybe that should be coming up soon to. Yeah. What's going on? Why aren't we getting to my interviews? Well, we did last week. I mean, Chris Buscher, and then you're my at Snyder and before that was Ryan Blaine. So that's true. Yeah. The last Landon castle appearance we have on our show was the double shot of Landon castle interviews that we did. That's right back at episode four nine. That's where I interviewed him. And you interview them, right? Yes. And we compared to see which one do better. And it was me. It was obviously me. Now, I think it was me. I think the vote showed it was me. But dig Nealon, basically, tell him he was worthless. And he shouldn't be driving. If I remember correctly. It was something close to that. But I didn't mean that. So. We're your friends. Let's begin our view of the final four drivers in the truck series that battled for the championship at the season ending race at homestead Miami speedway. First up is number four Johnny solder, a frequent listener to this program and the radio program. So hi, Johnny. Sorry your fourth. But you did have six wins. Fourteen top fives seventeen top tens don't. They have like eighteen races amicus point to close. And so those winds coming at martinsville, Bristol, Texas, Charlotte Dover, and Tony here's Johnny solder. Honestly, it was the hardest. Couple of weeks. I've had after season like that. You know, just feel like you're doing all the things you need to do to go down there. And I felt like I was prepared as good as I could be. And I felt really good about what we were doing going there. And then they have it unfold. Like that it was very very tough the week. We two weeks after that was it just sucks. You know? You have a season like that you want to capitalize on it. And we we did. So, you know, all in all it was great year. But you know, about championship kind of leaves a little void and Johnny solder. I'm being a mentor at GM racing..
