"They wouldn't what they did wouldn't have had the opportunities have and i wouldn't have been able to give up to so it means a lot. She is just like an amazing all-star who has been like getting attention from all sorts of magic. Johnson tweeted about her. Tennis game is beautiful. It is always exciting to see like young teenagers. Make it to the finals also makes me feel like whoa there. Tennis is like amazing. When every teen athletes in sport. I am old well. Isn't there a lesson that we all sort of peaked in our late teens and early twenties. From what our athletic prowess god no. I mean my intellectual accurate. I think peaked in my late teens early twenties. Carry you disagree. You're you're still on the up. I don't know. I still think of myself as around. Twenty seven either. Even though i am not so i don't disagree with any one. Yeah right right. Yeah gary why can't you like a love. So when i can't let go of is an essay by john dickerson. Journalist published this essay in the atlantic magazine and the headline is every dog is a rescue dog. And it's really a beautiful tribute to his pup. George and the the idea of your dog. John dickerson's says in a life of business in ambushes on our attention. Dog walks air out the brain there. A regimen of escape and pause. They enlarge our sympathies and sweden r. Disposition and i can tell you that during this pandemic when it's now been over two years since i have seen either of you in person it's really good to have a mid daybreak to get out. Get some fresh air. Say hi to the neighbors from afar and be led around by my little pup it's this dickerson story will make you smile. It may make you cry. Left me in tears this morning but beautiful tears. It is on my list to read but i. I'm not ready to cry today. Not yet gary can i ask. Did you go out. I mean you had to take the popout out right like all during the pandemic so when you go out and when you were out during the pandemic i was one of those moments where you actually did see a lot of other people out and about walking their dogs and do you talk to folks like that. Yeah in the neighborhood. you know. there's just i in my neighborhood. There are a lot of people out on the street all the time. And a if you have a pup in certain kinds of neighborhoods you'll know you meet friends. You may not know the people's names but you know the dog's name so so true and so you wind up having the most lovely conversations and in a time when i can't have conversations with you both by the water cooler anymore by that sharing table where we always used to eat. Sweet treats like i have these conversations with my neighbor as my fellow dog neighbors. And it's really just a lovely pause to the day so the workday. Well i'm going to keep the animal theme going. I am here to tell you about a duck named ripper. Ooh this does have a name. He is an australian mask. Duck let me just say. He's kind of funny looking. But that's not all. He also speaks what he says he. This duck according to a cnn article which is based on a study. So like a real scientific. Study this duck ripper says you bloody fool. Oh my gosh we the duct talks. Yeah well you know. He was hand reared by somebody. Who probably says you bloody fool all the time. I didn't know that ducks could do that. Though i thought it was only a parrot skill to mimic yes exactly maybe maybe ducts or maybe just this one duck like a genius. Smashing horse educated. No way is that for real. That is crazy party. Feels like we're getting duped to and there's some teenager who's totally dubbed over this it was published in the journal philosophical transactions of the royal science biological science philosophical transactions of the royal society be biological sciences. "But <Speech_Female> <Laughter> <SpeakerChange> i want <Speech_Female> to read you guys like a <Speech_Female> chunk of this posting. <Speech_Female> Because i <Speech_Female> actually was so floored <Speech_Female> with this was like is this <Speech_Female> a real ad. I felt like <Speech_Female> it was satire. like someone <Speech_Female> clearly. Trolling <Laughter> poor <Speech_Female> journalists. <Laughter> So hold <Speech_Female> on reporters <Speech_Female> report to the paper's <Speech_Female> editor who has <Speech_Female> decades of experience <Speech_Female> in the field and <Speech_Female> to a lesser extent. <Speech_Female> The hotel's <Speech_Female> owner publisher <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> Apparently <Speech_Female> the the applicant <Speech_Female> will <Speech_Female> also have to <Speech_Female> man the <Speech_Female> front desk of <Speech_Female> this small victorian <Speech_Female> now for two <Speech_Female> or three shifts a week. <Speech_Female> So <Speech_Female> it's like double <Speech_Female> duty of things that <Speech_Female> you do. <Speech_Female> They admit the salary <Speech_Female> isn't much <Speech_Female> It's listed <Speech_Female> as twenty to twenty <Speech_Female> five thousand dollars <Speech_Female> but <Speech_Female> they say compensation <Speech_Female> can include <Speech_Female> a small fleet <Speech_Female> furnish suite <Speech_Female> at the in <Speech_Female> and all the coffee <Speech_Female> you can drink <Speech_Female> of course is also part <Speech_Female> of the deal. So <Speech_Female> i <SpeakerChange> did my due <Speech_Female> diligence as a reporter <Speech_Female> and i <Speech_Female> actually <Speech_Female> found out <Speech_Female> the in exists <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> This in does exist. <Speech_Female> It has postings <Speech_Female> on tripadvisor <Speech_Female> so it's a real place <Speech_Female> and they have this facebook <Speech_Female> page <Speech_Female> They tend <Speech_Female> to report a lot <Speech_Female> on like the local <Speech_Female> weather. They have a <Speech_Female> feature about gardening <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> On a local <Speech_Female> picnic so <Speech_Female> lots of like lifestyle <Speech_Female> features long <Speech_Female> story short. There <Speech_Female> was a phone number on <Speech_Female> their webs. <Speech_Female> Did you call <Speech_Female> on their <Speech_Female> facebook page. <Speech_Female> So i called them <Speech_Female> earlier today <Speech_Female> to just ask like. Is <Speech_Female> this job legitimate. <Speech_Female> I saw this posting <Speech_Female> what i <Speech_Female> will say. The woman who <Speech_Female> answered the front <Speech_Female> desk was not particularly <Speech_Female> friendly. <Speech_Female> Maybe this is <Speech_Female> why. They're advertising <Speech_Female> for someone to man the front <Speech_Music_Female> desk's <Speech_Music_Female> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Music_Female> gary <Speech_Female> kurt with me <Speech_Female> and told me that if i <Speech_Female> had questions about <Speech_Female> the job that i needed <Speech_Female> to e mail <Speech_Female> at the address the <Speech_Female> phone number was only exclusively <Speech_Female> meant <Speech_Female> for the hotel <Speech_Female> so this <Speech_Female> feels like an episode <Speech_Female> of the gilmore <SpeakerChange> girls <Speech_Female> to me <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> to me. This is like <Speech_Female> the journalism <Speech_Female> equivalent of being <Speech_Female> ino- pair. <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Female> Like <Laughter> you know you get to be <Laughter> in a nice <Laughter> link. Room and board <Speech_Female> is sorta covered. <Speech_Music_Female> I mean i bet there's <Speech_Female> muffins <Speech_Female> we're maybe we're <Speech_Female> looking at this the wrong way. <Speech_Female> Maybe there's someone <Speech_Female> out there who wants to work <Speech_Female> in the hospitality <Speech_Female> industry and dabble <Speech_Female> in journalism. <Speech_Female> And then this could <Speech_Music_Female> be the perfect <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Music_Female> job for them too. <Speech_Music_Female> Smart thinking <Speech_Female> all right. Well that <Speech_Female> is a rat for today. <Speech_Female> Our executive producer <Speech_Music_Female> is surely. <Speech_Music_Female> Henry editors <Speech_Music_Female> are massoni material <Speech_Music_Female> and eric mcdaniel. <Speech_Music_Female> Our producers <Speech_Music_Female> are barton. "Of like okay. This seems like a bad idea. I don't know like feels grows. And then like watching the gymnastics olympic trials. Got me a little excited. But the thing that got me. The most excited is every olympics. There is a sport that i just become obsessed with that. I never knew about before you know like one year was like it was like villa drome biking and then like the olympic biathlon. I was getting up early. I think i've identified of this year and dominica. I don't know if you know that this exists three on three half court basketball. What that's an olympic sport now. Yeah it's an olympic sport. Let me tell you my twenty year old hoop it up self would have been all over that it had it's like nba jam olympic sport. And it's even like i was against full. No it is a half court basketball court. It's a ten second shot clock or maybe twelve second shot clock three on three. They'd sadly did not let the nba players do so new. But i i am definitely going to be watching that. That would have been awesome to watch and scott just for all these new sports one of the really cool things that they do in the ceremonies. Was they do these pictograms with like people with in like almost mascot costumes. And they kind of changed their body shape to mimic what the actual symbolise for that sport and they went through all of them. And i just. I applaud how cool it was and just the creativity and the body work that it took me just amazing really very creative all right well. Happy olympic watching. That is a wrap for today. "Find the shit out of you and maybe dragged me to officiate engine like yeah, fuck off Temple. Tom feel Tim bill. But at the same time he just caught on a hot mic of the shit that everybody knows goes on anyways. So like you basically he was going to retire and he but yep. So you literally put them on like paid leave for the last two months of his career after you letting him be that official in your league all those years, you know, like I don't this is what I don't understand is why is everyone but the officials Gary Bettman, Bill Daley and George parros or whoever's holding that role in player. Safety are the only things that can be criticized in hockey. Exact criticism isn't always bad Gary. Like I'm just I'm not saying again, is Cassidy, he didn't even say anything that bad, you know, I know he was very polite about it, but the fact that you're talking to a player who's a former player right now, who's has the freaking highest seat in in the NHL player? Safety off, George house. Yeah. All this shit in his in his past, he should know exactly what to find and suspend. He's an expert in the game. I mean the same guy that did. Yep. Want to give anything for the Brandon Carter Logan. He didn't, he didn't want to fucking find a Tom Wilson for hitting him and not going and getting concussion. He was like, why should we find him for that? But somebody overturned it and said, no, we need to do this. So usually that you got overseen by somebody else in the league, which I'm probably Gary Bettman. I don't do a very good, very yeah. I mean wage, I mean, titles dangled of the past Gary Bettman, you know. I'd like to say, though, we're not the only pathetic fanbase. We get reminiscent about the good old days for us. It's 2011 at this point, I saw in the last week, it was the blues parade had been. It was like the anniversary or the blues parade and the anniversary of the Washington Capitals parade. And I was like, yeah I'm sad. At least we took them out this year. At least we beat one team. I can't put yeah, krejci and Cassidy got fined and Nick Ritchie got fined. Right, right elbow. Yeah. Yeah. Which probably home. But I mean again that there are plenty of things that probably could have been fine that came from the islands cuz they were way more physical than I remember. They had been but yeah. Yeah boss is on but nothing on map or herself. All those forget High freaking, you know, hits to the face when you know, you're coming in at them and you've got you, stick up here near your, your jaw like you're feeding them and a T-bone, it's like, give me a break..

They're still running into some slower traffic through Lakewood on South 25 is we get closer to grab Li like driving. Doesn't look too terribly bad heading in the North found direction, actually, just a little bit of heavier traffic as we get closer to Main Gate, 5 12 starting to fill in just a little bit outside of steel, straight, both directions of the south him all we had some earlier slowing on Highway 16 year will watch it. The Valley Freeway is definitely picking thickening up from just after Highway 18 most of the way to the 4 10 5 12 interchange. It looks like we're in a war. We're definitely slowing down on north on four or five. Not sure what's going on.
