"He's really like, I mean, he was in much better condition as a 1415, 16 year old than his dad was. I mean, by that, it's like, I don't think LeBron lifted weights until he was 16. Brawny had like a personal trainer. He was like 12. I mean, he was in tremendous condition, like as a 14 year old. Yeah. That kid has poured in the work. And you can tell he really cares about the way he plays. Yeah. But the interesting thing is that his second son Bryce, who's 15, he was born during the 2007 finals. So he's he's like a young, I think he's a young sophomore, yeah. Yeah. But a young sophomore. He is much more physically gifted. He's much taller than brawny already. He looks more like his dad. Yeah. Although not really, but he is more reminiscent of what LeBron looked like as a 15, 16 year old. And he has a lot of different interests. I mean, he is getting into basketball, but he doesn't have the same at least to this point. He doesn't have the same focus on basketball that brawny does. So the interesting thing is, the more naturally talented son appears to be his second son Bryce, but the one who wants it so badly is brawny. And so you wonder how that's going to play out. LeBron was the had the body and had the incredible desire. So I'll be interested to see, but people who have, like, there's a bunch of NBA executives and scouts and coaches Bill who have sons who are on the AAU circuit. So they like so when I talk to them, you know, they say they go, Bryce is the prospect. Yeah. You know, Bryce is the guy that S 15 they're like, wow, watch this kid. Brawny is the kid they were like, boy, look at this kid's love of the game. Look at the way he plays like they loved his makeup. They love the way he played, but they didn't see him as like, oh my God, look at this incredible talent. So we'll see how that plays out. I think this would be a big scene here for him because the LA high school basketball scene is fantastic. And for it to be realistic for him to play a year in the G league and then going to the NBA, which I think a lot of people think is realistic or play a year in college. Remember hardy, the kid that Dallas and I'm getting the second round. But he was supposed to be this top 5 prospect. Did she leaks hard to really good league now? It's got a bunch of kids that are either first round picks, trying to play themselves into the league or 27 year old guys trying to, you know, one last chance and it's not, it's not easy. Have you ever gone to Sierra canyon? My daughter said games there, yeah. It's like a college campus. So I went to the same high school as LeBron did obviously. And you know, when the kids left, you know, I mean, the high school is still highly competitive. They won the state title last year, but you know, when the Braun went to Lakers, say V lost two big time LeBron James siblings to play. Yeah. So when brawny was a freshman, I once spent some time at Sierra canyon. What an impressive place. I was so impressed and 100% got it. While LeBron had his kids there. And what I like about Sarah canyon is that they don't pretend that they're not trying to create pro and college basketball players. You know, some of these places are like, oh, are you giving them free tuition or are you like taking care of their cousins and they're like, yeah, we have a bunch of rich kids who pay us a lot of money and raise a lot of money from and then we give and I loved it. And Brandon Boston is now with the Clippers on the team then. And I remember interviewing him and I don't know, you probably don't want this one maybe boring, but he was already committed to Kentucky. And he transferred there for his senior year. He didn't need. It was clear to me he was going to be an NBA player. He probably thought it was going to be a first round pick, but I remember asking him, why did you come here? He's from the Atlanta area like a suburban Atlanta. And he goes because they told me that they would let my sister in and it was an opportunity for her to get a great education. And it was like, wow, what a spectacular answer. What a spectacular reason. And what a spectacular thing that the school would do that and not like pretend that they're not. Like back in the days of when west Wesley, this is what Wes Wesley used to try to arrange. He would say, all right, we'll guide your kid to this college, you know, but take care of his family or whatever. And that was seen as, oh my gosh, he's like an operator taboo. This is just what west was doing. Wes was setting up kids who were like totally helping these schools out

"The Lakers just picked up a win over the clippers and Boston in the same game. Brandon Boston, of course, plays for the clippers, but nice night for the Lakers summer league squad getting the W, certainly what we like to see. Got a lot to break down. A lot of stuff to talk about from this game, plus some things to talk about going on in the Kyrie Irving trade situation, a new rumor coming from the New York Post. We will address that as well. Joining me tonight, got Sean Davis from Lakers nation dot com, Sean. How are you doing? That was a fun game and glad we get to talk about a summer league Gwen, but still fun to celebrate you went so you get them. Yeah, that's right. I mean, look, we'll take a win, always more fun to watch your team win a game and they did the javonte McCoy game in this one. He was solid. Enjoyed it. No, he was really, really good. So I'm gonna shot he was hitting tonight was insane. Man, that's all a ton of fun watching javonte have the javonte McCoy game as we will now references us. Welcome in to everybody from YouTube from Facebook from Twitter. Thanks for joining us live tonight. If you're listening to the podcast version of this over on Apple podcast, make sure you leave us that 5 star rating and review. We certainly do appreciate that. Let's kick things off with that pesky little rumor that came out. A lot of people wanted to talk about it. So the New York Post published a story in which a source close to kairi said the Kyrie never requested a trade. Doesn't understand where all this trade talk came from. Sean, do you buy it? No. Again, and we've talked about this a little bit as well. This is just Kyrie trying to save face a little bit. You know, like, hey, trade me, but you know like this isn't me. I didn't formally request a trade and by the way, that's literally what the article says, like the first paragraph or so it was like, Kyrie didn't formally request a trade so that if he does get traded, hey, it's not him. He didn't want out per se. Even though not sure how much I believe that anyway. So I don't buy it. I think you should say I'm trying to save face and gain some leverage for himself here. Yeah, I mean, look, yeah, this is Kyrie trying to make it clear or a source close to Kyrie anyway. For one, they tried to make it clear that, look, he's not forcing his way out of anywhere. No, no, no. If infantry happens, it's the nets. It's the nets that are doing this, not Kyrie. And then on the flip side, it's the New York Post. I mean, why are they going out there and publishing this? Well, it helps the nets, right? This is something that looks good for the nets. Looks bad for the Lakers because in theory of Kyrie is perfectly happy staying in Brooklyn, regardless of whether Kevin Durant is there or not, which is what they're trying to imply, even though that's not exactly what said in there.

"Absolutely. That's the important thing here. He's going to be playing on real guaranteed money. We think, right? We thought that about Lou dort and Lou dort didn't get a guaranteed deal. He was on a two way to start his career. But I would think Trevor keels being a duke guy like he'll get guaranteed money. I don't know. It's a fine decision. Like I totally am with it. Like, I get it. It's just I'm a little bit bummed, I guess. Okay. Mail back. The time for a few mailbag questions. Let's do it. Jump in. Let's see if I can actually pull up my mentions here. Mailbag time. Okay. Let's see. Simon Roth gave us another good one. I just ate the best dry aged steak of my life, but it was pretty pricey. What's the most you've ever spent on one meal at a restaurant? Oh. That's a good question. I have a very bougie answer. Why don't you go first? I mean, look, like one time after, I think, lore gotta promotion, we went out and did like $150 per plate tasting menu kind of thing. Like a very famous well-known steakhouse thing at in LA or like butcher in LA. I was kind of similar. This was man, so my son's three and a half. So it had to be a three years ago. This time of year is in August, and I was out in California doing Steph Curry campus, San Francisco, Napa Valley is about an hour from there. So my wife flew out was the first time our trip kind of without her son. And we went to this 5 star, I don't even know what the Michelin star ratings with the number is, but whatever the highest one is. So as price fix for like a couple $100 a person plus the wine, it was like a million courses. It wasn't French laundry, but it was like something of that ilk. Yeah, yeah. So it was good, but it was also like, let's just do the experience and pretend like we know what we're doing in here. So that was definitely the most. It was fantastic. Yeah, and Lauren and I have done like, yeah, we've done like a couple of, like there was a place in LA called Nora that was in Hollywood that $80 a play or $80 a person for like, you know, tasting menus. Like, we've done a few of those. They're almost always good. Oh, that was good, but it wasn't like, hey, I'm gonna come back next Thursday into the same thing. Like, I'm still paying off my credit card. Okay. Matt, you should answer this one from Andrew beckner at a frost 32. Could Peyton Watson follow a similar path to Brandon Boston..

"But on the other hand, they're catching everybody at the right time. Like Brooklyn without everybody. A great example. Multiple times. The sixers without James Harden and Seth curry and all that stuff. That's another like, how do we properly evaluate what we're seeing in front of us? Because it's amazing. It's awesome. It looks like a top end team on the flip side you have to evaluate the competition that they're playing. To hearken back to Bret Stephens once again, you can only play the schedule that's in front of you. So I think that they are, but the positives are, these are things that they were not doing earlier in the season. They want to a depleted Detroit team earlier this season. And last year, how many times did that happen? Where they go in. And then they let their foot off the gas. They did that earlier this season against the clippers when they found out that Paul George wasn't playing, and they didn't have Kauai. And so they didn't come out and then Brandon Boston rolled over them in Los Angeles. And so I am choosing to look at the positive and that those kinds of things are no longer happening. And then I am hoping that they take these foundation fundamental changes, see how they're playing, see how it works, what they can do with that. And be able to fall back on what they have built to this point when it does come to the playoffs and when their backs are up against the wall. And so I think there's only good that can come from this and let's be honest, they did need to build some confidence after the way this season started after the way last year started, how much criticism the J's have taken. I think regardless of who the competition is, the fact that they are steamrolling everybody is a good thing. Let's take a quick break to tell you about our good friends at Ben online dot.

"Brandon Boston, a little bit was Ira Williams. We talked about, it's possible. I haven't completely checked out on them. But I don't see the top 5 stuff that we had the preseason either. Yeah, I don't see the lottery stuff even. I'm like completely. Someone could take up there, though. Put it that way. It won't be us. But somebody could take them there. I'd be surprised. That's where I'm at. Like, I would be surprised because let's just think about the profile here. How big do we think he really is? 6, four, maybe? If you told me he's like 6 two and a half, I wouldn't be blown away. He looks small out there. But like even against other teams, like he looks small, I think. At the end of the day. Like he is not an enormous player. And to be, let's say, 6, two and a half, and I mean, his long arms, like he is, he seems to have gone away. Yeah. Like, I'm not saying he can't be that, but then you throw in that he's I mean, he's not like a crazy athlete. Like he's not crazy. He's better than shown. I don't want to say above average, but his average plus, he's not like an average athlete he's better than that, but he's not above average either. I don't know if that makes any sense. But to be the kind of shock creator that is his game, you probably need to be like a well above average athlete or a well oiled machine on knowing how to use screens. Because we've seen slower footage shooters were just very good with their footwork, very good on that first push, separation, then really coming off hard. And he hasn't really got there yet. See, like, even someone like Lou Williams, like I think that that's kind of what the pathway is, right? If he's loo, I think that's a home run..

"Let me get it hard, get hard, want this thing, want this thing as much as your fan base does. Quit being buddies with all the other players, quit tripping like losses don't matter, take losses hard. You know, mature as a team, be tougher. I mean, grind down the stretch. You don't want this, want this as much as everyone around you does. You got 20,000 fans of fill your arena every night, and you can't play hard a 100% of the time. You got to have lapses against some of the worst teams in the league. You know, and it's not the first time it's happened. I mean, you come home and you just sleepwalk against the Toronto the first home opener and let them dominate you. You just let teams laugh in your face and that doesn't make you mad. We'll talk about fight. Our files, physical play, saying that it's not going to happen again. The clippers just beat you two weeks ago, are you thinking about that? Is that in the back of your mind? We let Brandon Boston go for 27. Insane he's just clowned you a couple weeks ago. Is that something that's on the bothering you? Are you so late that dap Devin Booker after the game ain't tripping about it? Like what are we going? What are we doing here? It's something's got to tickle your pride a little bit, just get you upset to get you to want to be a better team for failure potential. If it's not for your coach, play for yourself. Fight for your own ass. Yeah. No, if you are in tripping off email, whatever. Okay, you don't like EA or whatever they feel about a fight for your damn sir. I'll tell you what I want in the have. For new year's you know what I want to introduce Gary. No. I want them to gather around and just all do not of those anchors. You know why? I'm a tell you why, because the campaign for that particular drink is state thirsty, my friend. And they need to stay thirsty. Going into this second half season. They need to stay thirsty for success. They need to stay here. People trying to get better. They need to be thirsty. This doesn't make sense. Make sense. They're not thirsty enough for the things that help you become better. They need a reminder of why they need to remind her to stay thirsty. You're anchored too on these hugely. Listen, I can't help it because we see a cow like right here. And everyone else is like right behind me is at a different level. I can't help y'all can't get there. What is this? What is complicated about them needing to stay thirsty, my friend? They need to stay thirsty. Am I wrong? They're not thirsty. They ain't no place. No, they're not. And they need a reminder to stay thirsty. That's my point. Reminder to stay thirsty. I mean, the fact is is that everybody wants it seems to want more than they do. Yes. Other teams, their fans all seem to want and see something that they don't see. And they don't want to be great. They let Miami take that much money in the bubble and they've not been the same since. They like that one. I think Mario new year's resolution for this whole thing. In the struggle damn. He's got to go 506. And who are your leaders? Is it Jason? I thought it was interesting to Jason said, he was willing to accept the responsibility of the losses because we know he's one of the leaders. That's a step. Yeah. Okay. Well, it's going to accept responsibility. In this case, it really means that. Question is do they want the do they really want to be good? They really want to win. It's hard work to win. If it wouldn't, if winning was easy, everybody would be doing it. Cleveland will be doing it. Utah, all the teams, there are two teams winning with all the bad deal with Detroit you win it. The torts tried to win. Detroit would be 20 Indian winning. You win, you win. You win. When it's not easy, okay? The next one will be winning. All the bad teams gonna leave Sacramento will be winning. If it was easy, it's hard work to go from good to great. The go from a competitive team to that elite status. You know, that's why in Brooklyn, Blake Griffin and Paul Millsap are sitting the bench, not saying a word when they don't play because they really want a championship. No, that's why James Harden as much as nobody likes James Harden, sacrifice his game to win a chip. And play point guard when Kyrie bailed out. That's why these teams, these players go somewhere and they go to go to win. And how many of those self network really want to win? How many of them are how many of them are like, I just like playing ball. This is fun. I like the money. I like the women. I like the jewelry. I like the Instagram. I like all that. I just wanna like, this is cool for me. How many of them really like how many of them want to win? I have to question that. I mean, even want this. That's a good question. You don't seem like all of them do. For an initial resolution, quantity. I know you got one. Yes. My resolution. I'm gonna borrow something from the old Celtics. Oh, God. Give them a little bit too. Oh, damn it, I knew she's gonna do that. So I wasn't gonna do that, but then I was also looking at the days of kansa and today, which I don't normally celebrate. But today is gma, which means collective work and responsibility. So I think between most of those things, the shelter excludes a little bit of gold to get them on the right path to the playoffs. I like your best. Here's a little bit better than my way better than Gary's. No second. Potentially the same thing for you right now. Collective work and responsibility to the greater good of their season, because right now, they're all about each individual and not about the collective even of a selfish, which is why they have not played well. Well done, quanti. Don't ever want to get the girls started a y'all. Nice job. I got a goody. That's a big deal, apparently. Right. So we're pretty much at the end of the road here for the day. We'll be back in a year. And then we have to say that we need. This will be the last one for 2021. We will and do you have any personal resolutions? I got one. Gary, did Gary, you don't have to take a deep breath. It's not that deep. It was just like, and I just looked up to the next 365 days. I just want to be nicer to people. That's all I wanted. I want to be nice to the people. I'm still going to crack on you, coin. And I absolutely will crack on you, Gary, but that's going to be nice if you need some people here. Yeah. Peace on earth, Ubuntu. Go ahead, Gary. What you got? This could be a better course of overall this hour. Improve in every.

"Are they gonna get past these guys? You build the best team you never look at the other people. You build the best team you can. That's probably two. With your set of circumstances, you don't just chase to get that guy this year. You're always worried about now two years from now four years from now. But it's happened. It's in front of you, John. I'm saying you wanted holiday. Look what holiday does to Milwaukee. I know I did. And I had to argue with you frigging guys to convince you that he was better than Kemba last year. Look at what ones have Chicago and the way you both have done. I mean, you could miss me on the record, I was good at this. I told you in the preseason last year. I'd still love Lonzo Ball. And I wanted Lonzo bad, I would have sold out for Lonzo if we could have found any way to get him here. Everyone's like, oh, he's not that good. Oh God, everyone just shut up. I don't know what it is that people just look at the thing that the guy doesn't do well and be like, he wouldn't fit here, you know, like, oh, my God, you know? Though there were a ton of fans, ton of fans that wanted Lonzo here too, but still. At that point you made about being able to move around down the line. Still, like, hammers this home, yeah. End up moving him for Beal and make it really be and Tatum. The 7 start to look more enticing and that situation there between lowered and Tatum all of a sudden you have like a play making 5 scoring wing and a lead point guard and that situation there. There's just so much more flexibility that that gives you as a real deal contending team and think of the impact on how guys look at the Celtics in terms of buyout players at that time of year. This just changes where you are in the league if you make this deal. Could it go wrong? Yes. Kyrie went wrong. But I think almost everybody will do Kyrie. And they say they still do it. So that's the point here. I do Kyrie again and again. You know, that was that's a trade you had to make. You gotta hope that they can get involved with something like this. Because man, if they don't, they are in trouble. Yeah. Yeah, no doubt about it. It's interesting to see if it comes up here. Uh oh. I think I pressed the wrong button. I may disappear, but it doesn't mean I'm gone. John hicks. You got a countdown going? No, I just, I don't know. We'll see. Am I still here? Yes. Yeah, you're still here. Sorry. I accidentally pressed the red button, the nuclear bomb. I need to show it tonight. I have to eat them at the podium. No, just smart to just say that was it. Yeah, that was. Yeah, I guess he doesn't hate me. It's the first time I've seen him since the shutdown, so. And since he told us to go F ourselves that's all right. He said, tells your audience. Wonder if that's where charades now he's talking to him. So we got Phoenix on Friday. We'll be back for that. Game as well. And I got some Brandon Boston's talking about going out smart, getting the technical file there. He says, I just told him I'm here. Oh, snap. Yeah, I missed the taunting call. "That's choose dot VA dot gov. Okay, so my next team is and I've talked about them a lot on this show, so I apologize. But the Los Angeles Clippers, I love watching the clippers in part because even though they lost last night, they've been playing really well and they've been making me look smart because I wrote before this season they were going to be really good. Paul George is just having a magical season. I mean, the shots that he's hitting are just absurd. I talked about it a little bit earlier with Dylan Brooks guarding him. The step backs, the stepping through double team, splitting double teams and still finishing over a third defender. It's just so satisfying to watch him. But I don't even know how to describe it. He's just so smooth when he plays. And he's like trying to making the right reads, not forcing anything really. I love watching Paul George play basketball. I love the confidence I'm seeing and a lot of guys who have had ups and downs throughout their careers like Reggie Jackson hoisted 17 threes in a game this season. While watching that game. I just love it. I love his fearlessness. I love, I love Luke canard, man. Luke and I are more confident than ever. I've always wanted him to just be like, I'm just gonna pull up. If a man is dropping on a pick and roll or a here, they need him to do that. Yeah. He's gonna do that. I'm gonna pull up, it's gonna be a there's gonna be a tight squeeze here. It doesn't matter. I'm gonna hit this shot, and he's been doing that and he looks great. Terrence man, I've joked a top 75 snub. And. I love watching Terence man play basketball. I think he's one of the best on ball. Like they traded Patrick Beverly and they didn't lose anything because of what Terrence man brings on the defensive end. And he's like their own mister 94 feet. Just one of the better backcourt pests in the entire league. And screening him is virtually impossible. And yeah, I also just, I think it's fun when a coach like ty lue is just willing to go small. Willing to play another hurt right now with Marcus Morris not available and Serge Ibaka basically out of the rotation because as a heart and stains look terrific. But when zoo has yeah, when zoo and hartenstein are on the bench like Brandon Boston was playing the 5 last night against Jan Jackson junior and I'm just like I was watching. Yeah, let's do it..

"I'm here who's speedy and young. Fresh legs the clippers are going to need that okay because they got so many games. This schedule is brutal. And i think that's why you saw the clippers. Look they know. Hawaii leonard is going to be out for a good chunk of the season if not all of it when the playoffs start it will be about ten months. Roughly since kawhi leonard tore his. Acl this is going to be a long-term injury and with that schedule. The clippers are not going to rush quiet linda out there. You know that they're gonna take their time and so they went down. Kinda were very active on draft night. They got kion johnson. Jason preston brandon boston. I think the clippers manager would like to see some of these young guys play. They went and got justice windows. Well you have. Luke kuhn are tarrant man. They need to take the load off veterans. Like paul george reggie jackson. I think they went balances roster a little bit because that russia was built contend. The clippers are being realistic right now. They still want to be in the playoff hunt but they also know that wilander out for a long time. They're not going to be a top three seat. In the west. I think if justice winslow stays healthy he can certainly help them particularly on defense and i think boston is unbelievably athletic. Jason preston no. I called his game at summer league or one of his games at some illegal. That kid is really impressive. That can handle the rock. All right paul george. Nearly average thirty points a game in game without kawhi in the playoffs and with kawhi out indefinitely. What are your expectations for next season as he has to be the guy for the clips until kawhi returns. Look can we say that. Paul george silence. Some of the trolls with.

"On too far. Now, let's go snag him and that's Brandon Boston. But BJ, Basta they want and got him. They traded for for a pic. That was Memphis. New Orleans that moved out to my aunt. And I think that's a, that's a good one. And remember, the Coopers had all those extra pics from Detroit in the second round and that's what they gave up to to do these moves year to go get these guys. So I like the Boston pick, you know, if he can figure it out and get back to the kitty was kind of coming into Kentucky. They might have maybe possibly the Seal of the month late in the second round. You just like him cuz his last name is Boston. Yeah, yeah, that's it. I mean, that's my I saw so many joking on social media on Twitter saying that, that now, this is the, the worst case scenario for Lakers fans, you have a Clipper whose name is boss. Know, he's instantly the most hated play, right? From the front of the way, Bush fan base. Yeah, it's funny, but a couple pieces of God. Oh God. I was just going to say, I like I like what the Clippers did hear, you know, they're preparing for maybe being without Kawhi Leonard all season. And so yeah, that's going to be tough to deal with, but they, they got some pieces here that they could bring a little bit of help. Yeah, for sure, a couple of pieces of business for them, Serge Ibaka's player option. So out there, my guess is the option after the back injury and then Kauai has his as well, kind of doesn't really matter. Is a great think we're all in agreement. He's probably not going anywhere from from from the Clippers at this point. So whether the Ops in and then resigns, a year from now, or adopts out and signs, or signs a short-term contract or whatever it may be, that you stick in right there..

"Thought the team need there is so strong with ja Morant as well. All right, so, who is the guy in the draft? The biggest sleeper, the most undervalued guy that off again. Most people don't have going nearly as high as you have them going. Who Do You Love? I mean, the obvious choice for me has gotta be Jaylynn sucks. I haven't going at 4 and he could easily be at 2, but then like later on, if I come over this one, yeah, I'll go. I'll go Kai Jones. I think I should give me one further down. Oh my God. How far you want me to go? I want, I want to go one like further down, like like if I said, I, you know, if I want Brandon Boston. Okay, so nothing like that, I want somebody that, you know, Josh Christopher. All right, hold on, John off the list of players here so I can go far enough down and list here for you like everybody loves Chris, Chris Duarte now that's the hobby he has become yes he certainly has become a hot name. You want me to go like Luka? Garza. Is that far enough down for you? Well yeah. What do you think? Luka Garza is going to be in the league. I mean if you can make shots, he could be a stretch home stretch five. Yeah. All right. You know who everybody likes to? I mean ones Highland is moving up. Yeah, from VCU. I'm going to go, you know what this about deep for you. I'm going to go Joe wieskamp. I like that one. I liked that one, but I think he's a good athlete. I think you can make shots. Yep. And I think that he's a guy that can fit in a lot of different places and be productive. And I would honestly say he kind of reminds me a little bit of Kevin huerter. I'm a fan. You've been very effective. I, you know, I'm a fan who's the guy you're worried about the most, who's the guy that, you know, people have going higher that you're just like, this is easy because we didn't take him in the lottery and it's, It's gotta be kumiega wage. I mean, he's gone from like a consensus top-five pick to where we didn't even I mean that's that's an easy decision for. I'm worried about him. I'm just worried about him. I saw him play. I'm also leery. Those questions. We were all on the Mellow screwed up last year and I brought lamelo fans out there. Yeah, we're sorry. Yeah. We we didn't like him for different reasons. I I was blinded by my my dislike of his father. Yeah. Well listen, Maybe we. Maybe it was the same reason. You didn't have just, you know, deal with his father like I did. Okay, yes. I was blinded by his immaturity when I was around him. Yeah. That was my biggest thing is I felt like he was never going to guard a a tree. Didn't want to guard and the shot glass broke. And I love the obviousness of Court vision and all that, and the passing ability..

"You keep hearing the trade rumors, they need Shooters around de'aaron. Fox halberton come in, obviously, he can shoot it, but Moody's, the guy who can God, And really, really space Accord. So I like him at night. My last 2 pics, you might flown. I might be reached and hard here. I want games, I like. Jones. I think he is has so much upside. Yep, you can claim at the for the five, he can really handle it and then he can just anchor your defense. Yeah, I think the way he play, he plays the motion. I really liked guy Jones this year, I honestly like Texas this year and and they, you know, most definitely Christian. But I went Kai Jones at 9 for Sacramento. Yeah. And I would probably go College Jones at 10 for New Orleans because, well, isn't that Memphis though? Did they trade was valid? Soonest is going to all right, very right, that that was today. Yeah, yeah. So Memphis, I'll still go Kyle Jones at 10. I'll still go, I think his potential is no, I I agree. No Hai 611 can shoot it. He's he's the perfect kind of face up for man that everybody wants right now and and scratched the surface of what he can become. Yep, I'd be okay with that. This you might hate this pic to, I went Corey kispert, it's him just because I just think from a nice nice perspective, you keep giving ja Morant space to play. You have kids first the best shooter in the draft, you know, Memphis shot and they were 20th in the NBA in 3-point, shooting 35% so long. Kiss Workshop 44, you just give him guys that can make shots. And that that may very well be a pick where you're like dude you can't take you attend. Maybe you tried down and get him but I don't know. So that's Thursday. Thought the team need there is so strong with ja Morant as well. Yeah..

"I had the last year's as, you know, saying and I'm a sucker for six nine guys, that show any type of football skills and versatility did Jaden McDaniels of the world, but yeah, I don't either. It's pretty tough. But I will let's have another conversation here in the next couple of weeks. And I promise you, I will have the answer for you, but guys that like kind of like Austin Reaves is kind of interesting to me, I don't know. I'm kind of curious about this. Like I'm again, I haven't done the Intel or the as much research on some of these guys. As I I need to before the draft, but that likes that you talked about 16 range or even 6:30. Like some of these guys that, you know, the Brandon Boston's, the Josh, Christopher's desire Williams, like some of those guys that were initially supposed to be Lottery. Guys, I wonder if there's if that's where the value is a draft. If you think that if you're a believer that that like lack of success, in their freshman year was temporary and you would bet on it long-term or like the development eventually happening. I don't know. Maybe that is The Sweet Spot of this year's draft but that's just some of the things I'm I'm trying to think of no. Well I I didn't answer your question about how I apologize light off. Right here, was it? You I was talking to. I can't remember where it was. Like, you just kind of brought up like he's never been good. Oh no, that wasn't me. But okay, I haven't talked about Zaire little bit. Yeah, as long to someone that, they, they brought up the fact like Zaire has just never been like great, you know, like he's never statistically in terms of production been as good as what you would think, based off of his reputation, right? But when when I go back and watch his tape, I'm I kind of loved the way that even though it was not great this year and he was very inefficient and he struggled at times like I kind of thought this is like NBA level tape just in terms of the way he gets to step back the way that you can see, like the contact balance is just off right now. He's he's not strong enough like as he gets stronger, you can see how he's going to like really improve. I think I would take Zaire like, like fires like pretty close to the lottery. Like I get it that it's that that's probably like a hot take given how like, poor his season went, but I think I would still take him pretty close to the lottery at this point. Yeah, I agree with you. I mean, again, it's, it's hard to find six 8. I mean, to me positional size is like one of the immediate things that translates you have to have as I'm person as I value life guys..

"Sort of fell out of our chairs when he said, Um I don't want to break the heart of anyone and the fan base exploded at that moment going. What are you talking about, Right, right. It's confirmed that cow maybe has the bias. I I don't want to throw calendar the bus because he's my coach. I support him. There you go. The UK disclaimer. Well, it is. We'll have a coach. I no, no, no, no. But don't you think? I asked the question, though? I mean, I still think I could get a little credit for that. But I still feel like a cow should be the coach. There's there's fans out there things while we need to just get rid of Cal. I think the mistake that Cal is making is one of my favorite quotes is from a movie called Moneyball Were Brad Pitt is a you know, working for a Oakland A's and they're They're all about a small market and trying to survive against the big money markets Well, The quote is adapt or die, and you look at the athleticism that UK has or has not. And there's seems like there's a lot more athleticism on the bench right now, because those are the guys that are making your points. And he's not adapting so therefore looks like certain death for UK basketball this year because he hasn't just taken the shades off. I can't have all these players out there that are not the five star players. Otherwise, it's going to hurt my recruiting down the road. But here's what happens if Boston never quite figures it out. And then what caliber mean? The fans go great. He'll be back for a sophomore year, maybe his junior year. That would be awesome that we don't have all ones and guns anymore. But the problem is Count recruits another five star at his position, and then he transfers and you have all won and guns again. Yeah, that's and you see that the transfer is that have done so well. I mean, you look at General Baker unfortunately, has a wrist injury That's going to keep him out the rest of you, but he was the highest score for Arizona. You Khalil Whitney, who's done really well, you look at the players that are now transferring out of Kentucky, and I think that's the other part. That's frustrating, Big blue Nation. Is the fact that man now these players are leaving when it feels like Cal kinda ran him off and they go have a successful career somewhere else, they say. Hindsight's 2020 Michael Bennett. Looking back. Do you think it was a mist Ake to offer him a lifelong contract? Because it seems to me like things started to go south right about then. Well, I think no, I don't think so. I mean, it's a culmination of several different things. I I really go back and think. Oh, my gosh. The real rivalry was win cow and Rick Pitino was the head coach 70 Miles to the west. I really feel like when, when Rick left. That kind of took the bubble out of cows of momentum and motivation to really just beat. You fell out recruit and all this kind of stuff. I really think that was the start of it right there. I don't think it's good that in the mix there, you get this lifetime contract which I hate the name of that, and nobody deserves a lifetime contract. I don't care who you are. Even if your necks saving he doesn't deserve a lifetime contract. Yes, he's done. All this. And Cal has done all this. But, man, The other part is you Look at you all we're talking about the last time you kay was at the Final four. It was 2015. It's been now six years since we've been there. The other issue is yes, Cal is getting those number one recruiting classes, but they're not the same type of recruits that he was getting in the first five years of his career. UK They're the yes, there five stars, but they're not the upper echelon. The first five players that are are the high recruits. Yeah. Brandon Boston was one of those, but every now and you get a bust, So I think that's the other issue as well. Look at the top 25. Though you have Duke out of the top 25. They have one and dones for the first time since 2016. Carolina is nowhere to be found. The SEC essentially is nowhere to be found outside of Clemson. And the teams that are up there, teams with sophomores and juniors and seniors experienced backcourts. I'm with you right there. First time in 50 years you hadn't had UK, North Carolina and Duke in the top 25. What is incredible stat right there 50 years. Uh, look when Tubby left Six turnovers. Tubby left, there wasn't one thing that happened. There wasn't a scandal or there wasn't you know the losses he was still winning. Wasn't at the clip that UK expected. Sometimes divorces just happened. No. Sometimes people get divorced, and there's not someone didn't cheat. They just look at each other and go. Yeah, I'm kind of done here. Um, I think that's how it's gonna end for cow. I think at some point You run. Let's be honest. When you coach it. UK basketball. It's like presidential years. You know how old they look after the four years that they're in office? It's like, Oh, my God, the age like 10 lifetimes, So you burn the candle at both ends when you coach in Kentucky. So being there is this is 11th or 12th year. This is 11. 0. My gosh, It's 11. Yeah, I think you're right there at 11 or 12. I don't remember exactly what we should get Somebody. It doesn't UK basketball show, but so are you going to go get country? You know a k a Matt Jones. Okay. All right. So so he's been there 11 12 years that is like 30 years coaching anywhere else. You're right. Rick Pitino's gone So his nemesis is has been has been destroyed. Destroyed. Rick is at Iona. Okay, He's been destroyed. So now what does he do? What does he set his sights on What motivation? Does he have to put a little weight on? He's gotten where those certain where those soprano shirts to hide the little belly that ze starting to piece starting. This is what giving up Looks like so Then you say stuff like giving way that we're going too far.

"So Thursday at the reason why he didn't have picked numbers, North Carolina, but I'll pose you with this question then if your BJ Boston your your inner circle What's the move mean? Do you do stay in you fight it out. Do you declare and try to play pro? Do you try to do this? One-time transfer thing? Like what's kind of The Next Step? If if it stays on the same path next whatever 2 months season ends. Where do you go from here? Yeah, and for what it's worth like looking through BJ Boston's numbers. Like I realized that I should preface this as well. Like I know BJ's been in office figures the bunch and I just reach like back in like pulled out a bunch of Nasir little like double figures games this year a little had a p e r of twenty that year on Brandon Boston is at 12.8 wage right now, which is like disaster level for an NBA Prospect just to kind of put it in context again if I was In PJs here right now. I would probably say. I agree with you that like they need to find a way to like get him to his happy place. Right like they need to find what's going on there. Like it does look like he's lost a little bit of confidence Sprite and I think that that's the number one thing. We need to find a way to regain his confidence. Honestly, if I was him, I'd go back to Kentucky right now based off of what we've seen so far. I would go back to Kentucky and supportive coach right like we can criticize coach Calipari and say we want but he's seemingly been with them every step of the way and it wasn't like a Ricochet Ricochet shot or anything, but he said kind of after the game somebody asked him. Like why wasn't Dante Allen play more as like I didn't shoot the ball like he had some open looks and shoot him playing field and shoot and shut the flip side is kind of saying, you know still be patient with with BJ and then order if a kid's heart out, I don't know it's all over the place, but it does if you boil it down, it seems like coach Calipari is behind him. Yeah, like I think that if I was like I would say go back we've seen like these guys in the past that they've been propped up by lofty off mock draft standings, right and then they enter the draft because they're still high on draft boards in March and then the bottom falls out once they get into work outs and stuff and they end up going undrafted. Right? We've seen that like the the classic one is one that's actually worked out positively to me. Do you remember crashing would and like his situation? Yeah. No, I remember the iconic photo draft night of him with his his hands on his face. And you know, there was a story that circulated last week that it's like ex girlfriend left him that night and had to talk to her since and now he's, you know throwing Jabs at at shacks and he's a casual fan after having a great game..

"I mean, this is a very depleted and this was not this was a no-doubter like it half time. I was like, there's no way there's no way they're going to win and it's just offensively no one can shoot like Dave Allen who's a good shooter? I think he's a good story. You know, I don't know if you know again we got so excited. I'm not one game right exactly exactly nice thoughts and commentary piece, but he's not like the season to finding peace for them like at the end of the day like Brandon Boston still. He still can't shoot and Olivier star is still like I mean star takes four shots tonight. He's a non-factor in the game like it's I think if I was like going to say who played well for, Kentucky tonight. Keion, Brooks sort of like I mean the problem is Isaiah Jackson It's a Good Things Jackson got to the line a bunch and you know, he plays hard but I will boil it down for you very easily. Okay varies their top two recruits were Brandon Boston and Terrence car and they both done virtually nothing. Yeah, and they don't have that right. There are other guys were just good pieces and I actually was a top recruit but he's in defensive-minded guy. He's he's not he wasn't supposed to come in and just get Buckets. He was supposed to come in and complement the guys are killing and they're those guys aren't doing it, you know and SARS not get it done. And I mean you can tell and then defensively. I mean we said, oh defense Kentucky can't guard anybody else don't keep anybody in front of them. Not tonight. They were they give up 14-3. He's in Alabama was looking to get layups and threes like we all they're playing fast. That's that's the way they play but that was that was Highly disappointing. I think that we all thought maybe they are turning the corner, you know, and I mean now they're back to the drawing board. That was I mean, yeah, how much now.
