"There will be like, what? Four types for ride receivers. What are you talking about? But that's just the way the Patriots. Do things like wide receivers. Is not that big a position for them. They are about the whole and I think the whole runs through the running back, they offensive line and the tight ends. And so that's why I stole roster spot at home at wide receiver. I will say that n'keal Harry would be my fifth guy if I was keeping her fifth guy. Yeah. And let's remind everybody, you know, Greg is doing this exercise looking at it through the lens of the Patriots and looking at their average numbers, how they keep the roster together. You know, for me personally, see you later. Brandon Bolden, I would keep Harry. I would swap those two guys. I don't know if you need both in, when you have a name, is Michelle Stephenson and JJ Taylor. I don't think you need another back. I'd move on hold and personally and I would keep Harry as that V wide receiver but again that's just me tight Edge and owned by the way wide receiver. The guys cut just say the names Isaiah's. Uber gone, Devon Smith gone Tre Nixon. Marvin Hall, Devon Ross and Christian Wilkerson other guys that Greg has caught dead Again, Harry gets dealt. Now, let's get too tight end / fullback. This is to some people boring, I think, because of how the Patriots went out and free agency and added two big names. It's anything less but you know, boring anything but boring..

"I wouldn't say girly or Freeman for the page is not going to pay Scarborough half if that of what you're going to take early and in the Patriots offense, they're probably going to produce the same. Yeah, so, okay. I don't have it. It's not a bad list at this time. Here's why I want to bring that up. Sony Michelle or Julio Jones, and most Scarborough Is kind of like like that I think if they're going to make that choice, I think that's what that's what you're looking at. And that's the conversation bills having with himself, you know, Sony Michelle versus Julio Jones and Bo scarbrough Julio Jones & Todd, Gurley Julio, Jones and Duke Johnson in the comment. I, I think we all know what we would do. I think I know the people in the chat would do, but we're not the ones, making the decisions they'll is, and I think that's how he's going to page end up looking at it. I knew that, like you said, the Patriots trading to kill Harry along with pics for Julio Jones makes so much more sense to me. It's top of their track record than eating Sony because I would even argue winovich, would make no sense in Stony at this point. Yeah, I just feel like they are again. Belichick is extremely attached to not being left. Playing a Johnny Smith at running back or converting. Somebody else to running back because they have an injury to Damien Harris, James, why? It's not really that guy. Her mind raced even says, not ready to be that guy. Yep. Probably end up going into a game, a couple of weeks or even, you know, God, forbid donate. Damon Harris. Gets seriously injured. You go into a stretch of the season with Brandon Bolden and Johnny said, as your two running backs, you know, early running backs, that's a situation that he just doesn't want to be in anymore, right? Think he's fed up with it with Stephen Jackson. That was a good poll. Did it with Cordarrelle Patterson and 2015. I think he's had enough of that so I could definitely see Sony Michelle being a little bit of a sticking point as much as that as crazy as that sound. All right let's talk about some OTAs Patriots OTAs on Friday. Well once again be open to the media, we got to see one practice last week on Thursday. I do want to preface this conversation was saying that some of the things that I've seen come out of that one practice is absolutely Bonkers about Mac Jones. Like it's one practice guys, like let's calm down. It's one practice in the middle of May with shorts and t-shirts wage..

"For the Patriots right now. Mike Reiss are NFL Nation Patriots reporter Mike I think the last Countess, seven different Patriots have decided to opt out of the season. Do you think we're done or is there gonna be more names at this point? Peter and Elif. It's touchdown in extra 0.7 opt out NFL high, right, And so they There's still time for players to decide to do that. So if anyone was having Second thoughts. You know, they could do that within the next couple of days. It sounds like that will be that window will close for them here. Here's the situation for the Patriots. They went through their covert testing you all last week and they were you know, those who had three negative tests were allowed inside the facility, take physical examinations and do some other stuff yesterday, so I think right now that we're captain seven unless someone makes a late change because they're already a week into this process. Like Obviously seven. That's a good amount. When you're talking about one team I see on ESPN dot com. You reported yesterday that they had Isaiah's Zuber, former Mississippi state receiver, undrafted in for a visit. How many of those situations do you think are happening behind closed doors for the Patriots? Now as they try to fill some roster spots, so they have five spots that they still need to fill in. Normally, in a regular year, they would probably kill him right away. Fly someone in Sinem. This year is just so different. I mean, just to get a player in the building. You need to budget out pretty much a week because that player is going to need to go through all this testing. Really? It's a hard question to answer. It's possible that they might actually start training camp under the roster limit of 80 which they've decided to originally start with. Right now there is 75. So this year, I think you just sort of throw, throw conventional out the window and say, like, Take a day to day and see where they go with it. Peter Burns, Eliza laying here in best We govern ESPN radio, joined by Michael Reese or NFL Nations Patriot supporters, Mike, You're You're plugged into this team in Foxboro. Why're the Patriots having so many more players than the one or two players deciding to opt out in other places? You know, it's an interesting question, and I think I look at each one in an individual case like there's a couple. There's seven total that we talked about, and I think you have to split him in different categories. Four of them were key contributors that have played a lot of football that either had passed medical conditions that put them at higher risk. For covert 19 and I'll give you specific example. They're starting right tackle markets. Cannon had non Hodgkin's lymphoma. When he entered the league. You know, over 30 years old, he's played a lot of football. So he falls into that category with you know another core player Brandon Bolden, one of their best special teams players, Then you have two other experienced players Dont'a Hightower and Patrick John. Key members of the defence. That either just welcomed the baby to their family or our welcoming a baby and have other medical situations within their extended family that concern them. So I put those for In one category. The other three are really players that might not have even been on the team that have either medical or family considerations on their mind as well. How much of this is Belichick having the command of his locker room enough to go tell me who the hell is playing? Who's not playing? We need to prepare because it feels like that's something him and that he's that type of mentality where he does care for his players. But he also says, How can I work? This do the advantage for the Patriots? You know, I don't think that's it. I think for this one, he gives the players their space. And once they make the decision, I think that's where he comes in and says Okay, you know, we've had time to think it through. We've made the commitment. You're with me. Now let's plow forward, but I I never sense from him any pressure one way or the other that he puts on the players. In fact, on Friday, when we talked to him, it was the first time that he's answered questions from reporters. Since back in the draft. He's on the record as saying. Look, I totally respect these players in their decision, everything. It's a personal decision for them, and I do buy what he's selling in that area. Like it's still pretty crazy. Whenever I think about the fact that Talbert he won't be putting on a Patriots jersey this season, and then even crazier for someone who lives in Charlotte to picture Cam Newton putting on The Patriots jersey. So, obviously Bill Belichick, in no surprise to anyone has said, Well, it's going to be a quarterback competition. Cam is gonna have to earn that job. How serious is that? I mean, I can't foresee Jarrett Stidham starting over Cam Newton. I think it's a fair fair point. I mean, based on the the career resonate you gotto say Cam Newton's the odds on favorite to win the job, and part of that is understanding how Bill Belichick operates. I mean, over the last 20 years. He never really said Tom Brady's My starting quarterback. When he entered every year. We just sort of assumed that but I think to me it's more of a tone setting. Statement from Belichick. The idea that you come to play for the Patriots, whatever you get, you earn and so to me in a way when he says that about the open competition, it's as much a a message to Cam Newton to say. You don't think you're just going to walk in the door and we're gonna hand it to you like we want to see you work at it. And by all accounts of people who have been around Cam Newton say that Not something he's going to show I away from that He is a great worker behind the scenes, so I would say we're going to watch every rep and we're going to see how they split up the snaps. But based on career resume, you'd have to say Cam Newton, the most likely option here to start for the Patriots. Then it's a kind of question. My grease of who the heck is going to throw two now? Mark easily is not there. Adelman's what their number one rod receiver, and he's what 74 years old a TTE this point, Mohamed Sanu struggled. And, you know, I know that they had just cut will. Hey, Stings Former Auburn player who now they re signed so trying to figure it out. NFL's trying to figure this out Mike and we're watching. We're playing NHL highlights in a bubble They worked the NBA's in a bubble. They work WNBA bubble. It works less bubble it works has been any type of discussions are feeling among the people in Foxboro. Saying Maybe NFL needs to start looking deeper into a bubble program. You don't know I haven't heard anything along those lines, and it's interesting specific to the Patriots. Peter. They have not placed the player on that cove in reserve list to date, and they've been in Starting their testing as of Monday. So you know, you say it cautiously from Patriots perspective because you know these things can turn and really quickly. All it takes is one player and it could go south, but they're off to what appears to be A positive start with staying safe and getting the players in and having you know what? What seems to be all negative results at this point, so At this point, you know, I think they're going forward with what they have and try to take it day by day and make the best of it. Marqise Lee becomes 7th Patriots player to opt out of 2020 season
"Professional football player ops out of the upcoming season. The New England Patriots are now up to seven players who have opted out of the 2020 season wide receiver Marqise Lee informed the team of his decision to opt out on Saturday. The 28 year old told reporters that his newborn baby born in January is the main reason for his decision. Lee signed a one year contract. With the team is a free agent in April. "Should I opt out? When you look at the guys who are opting out for the Patriots, it might be easier when you've already won multiple Super Bowls on that roster, and then you like wild just said Tom Brady is no longer there. And maybe that is too. Maybe someone like Dante Hightower, who has been you know who's played through injuries, And maybe he's thinking to himself, Boy. If ever there was a year to take off, we don't have Brady anymore. With Corona virus going on. I've already won three Super bowls myself. I could see why. If you start looking for reasons, all of a sudden as a Patriot It becomes easier to talk yourself into it. Right, right. Danny Vitale, who was actually a Northwestern grad, a fullback for the Patriots, I believe he's married to Kelly's Chris Chelios, his daughter. I believe they're having They may or may not, and I think I thought that they were possibly pregnant. I don't know that's for 100% you know. Give us a Jack Clark here 19. Marcus Cannon is an offensive tackle. He of the Patriots has decided not to play. Brandon Bolden, the running back from the Patriots isn't going to play. Dont'a Hightower eyes Patrick Patrick Chung, who is was set to enter. I think his 12th year and league and then not Theron, who was bankable offensive lightning. Yes. So I mean, Lot of guys. Lot of guys and it's Eddie Goldman so far for the Bears. And we'll wait. We'll wait to see what else happens because there are a lot of people who think there will be more. What's the opt out? Isn't the opt out like August something where they have a certain time to opt out? I think they Congar to camp, then decided to opt out. Then we'll see what happens with baseball with everything going on. But you know, the Sox are playing right now. The Cubs were going to play tonight. The Mariners. I mean, the Marlins are out for just a week. And everybody else is playing except for the teams who were supposed to be connected to the Marlins, and hopefully this is just a lesson for the rest of sports to take it all very seriously. And I wonder if we didn't have the Marlin story yesterday. If there would be this many guys opting out of the NFL I wonder if baseball was carrying on is normal. And there were no problems yesterday with the Marlins, and no games were canceled, and we carried on if NFL players If some of these NFL players that decided to opt out, saw this in baseball, and they're like, Well, there's no way we can do it. I honestly I don't I wouldn't. I wouldn't come to that conclusion. I'm just wondering. Yeah, No, I know. I mean, I think they said anything's possible right now. I wouldn't completely dispute any of it. I Listen, Football's different, too. Maybe they're looking at it like it's much more difficult for us to do it. We're not bubble were physically involved in this figure. Bodies are body and then you add to the fact that you could get this disease with your body may have young. You know, some guys may either their wives pregnant or just had a child and no marquees, Goodwin. The one thing that marred the Eagles decided that you know him believe he and his wife lost. And they lose twins or they had a problem with with, I think losing a child. At birth. If I'm not mistaken, they think I think they just had a new baby daughter recently back, they just had a baby girl and listen story. Goodwin's wife has had multiple miscarry, so I mean, he's like, Look, I'm not putting putting my family ahead of everyone. And if you're like I will say, offensive lineman just by being the weight that they are are in a high risk group. So I can understand why some offensive line and defensive linemen would be like what would be in great shape. But you fear 3 25 Doctors consider you to be obese. I don't care how tall you are. You could be a 1,000,000 feet tall, but ifyou're 3 25 and well, look at you and say, wow, that dude is really in great shape for a He's an offensive lineman. He's £325..

"Candy Bill. Ballot. Check speaking with Steve Young after the game and defensively what they were able to do contain the running game. They shut down the chargers the chiefs and the Rams running attacks. So they put those quarterbacks and second and long third and long tough situations to be in especially the Rams who'd like to build off their running game a lot of play action. Those naked bootlegs with Jared Goff. When you're not running the football. You can't do that stuff. So now it falls on the quarterback, and he just wasn't able to deal with this yesterday. No. And part of why the patriots recess successful stopping the running game yesterday was their first level tackling. They did not let C J Anderson get Ed steam at all they did a great job wrapping him up in the backfield. A lot of the writing plays went for a loss. And when you starting out on first down running the ball and you losing yardage. Put you in a really really tough position right off the get go so credit to the patriots defensive line and their linebackers. Did a really really good job containing the run that at times the season was their biggest weakness, and this is a terrific Rams rushing attack. And the patriots today Ed as good of a job as anybody could expect any team to do against this running attack. I do what regardless of what the Rams say. Thank Todd girlies hurt. He is. He's just I mean, right at all. Unless is he a non competitive guy because if you only get ten carries in the Super Bowl and what four touches in the NFC championship game. And you're not hurt. Wouldn't you be going up and down the sideline demanding to get in unless he's just that guy? That's not competitive, which I don't believe this is someone who last year was the offensive player of the year. Midway point of this season was a real MVP candidate got hurt at sometime in November December he sat. The last two weeks of the regular season had some time to get ready for the Cowboys. He looked good against the Cowboys. Did he tweet that knee and that Cowboys game very early against the saints because he was non a non factor against the saints. In fact, he caused the turnover deflection. Led to an interception. So he had to have something wrong with him. And if we find out in two weeks that he had something done to his knee will then that explains it, and they should be more forthcoming with us because it makes the player, look, they absolutely. It makes him look really bad. And he was a non factor is best play of the game. Get called back on a on a holding penalty that was a huge play that of us play. Because at that time. It's three three they look like they were starting to build some momentum. He picks up twelve yards. Instead the hold on. John Sullivan the center brings it back. Another ten yards. It was a twenty two yard play net negative against the LA. Rams. And they never really recovered from that they look like they were going to go in and take the lead. Yeah. They did. I mean, it would seem like only a matter of time until this offense gets going the Rams offense. And the patriots defense just did not allow it to in. That penalty was was a huge penalty. So yeah, you can look at girly and say, well, he probably wasn't right. But doesn't matter because the patriots were just all over him and C J Anderson. We know was healthy. And he wasn't able to get anything going either belch talked about that that coverage that they did against Brandin cooks in that clip. We played there that worked really well. Fortunately, they're defensive backs played at a really I level and the few times it cooks was able to escape they made some really good plays in the ball year guy. Over woods was really a non fact games double team because what they will do oftentimes is maybe they looked at woods is the bigger threat than cooks. So they doubled him. But they just felt good that deal. More could negate Brandin cooks. Now, you could look we spent one twenty one hours previewing the game last week. And there's times we just over analyze things. But maybe it's a case of last year. When cooks was here going Mano Mano, Stefan Gilmore in practice. Every day that you'll more got the better of. Him. And that Bella check watching practice figured, okay? That guy can lock that guy up. And now I can double team woulds and I've taken away two favorite targets outside of Todd Gurley. Who's not healthy? So it kind of put the Rams behind the eight ball offensively. Yeah. I mean, they didn't use their tight ends at all that they do that often. Reynolds was okay. He didn't do all. No. I mean, no one on their offense to that much sixty yards. And fifty of it came in garbage time right before zero line missed the field goal. That would have cut it to seven patriots. You're Abby giving the middle field that that Dr two hundred yards. They they they never got their offense in gear. They didn't run one play in the red zone. The patriots only ran one play in the red zone and it led to a touchdown. So it wasn't as if the Rams defense didn't show up. I mean if you went into that game. And you said the patriots going to score thirteen points. I would say while the Rams are going to be a Super Bowl to expect anybody to hold them below thirteen points. The only thing that did it all season was the Chicago Bears. That was a Sunday night game in the cold. So you could kind of say the bears have been. Atmel in Chicago better personnel than the patriots. So you'd expect the Rams to at least surpassed thirteen points. And they didn't even come close. Now. Of course is this. This was the best defensive performance in Super Bowl history. Answerable game you can make that case. I would make a case look, there's a you want to go through all the other Super Bowls. The ravens beating the giants. Thirty four seven. They get some points. There was on a kickoff return. The reason I say it how good offense the seven highest scoring team in league history. The Rams the Rams averaged thirty three points a game. They scored fifty four against the chiefs. Now, they weren't quite right down the stretch. Right. I mean, they have to this. Great start. And they kind of know Cooper de golly. They lost quite the same team down the stretch they were early and one of the things we talked about in previewing this game among nine hundred other things we talked about was the only team that had two weeks to prepare for them was Green Bay. And they did a good job against them defensively. And they don't have a good defense. They don't have a good defensive staff compared to Bill Belichick. So that was early in the week. I was like the patriots are going to win because if you have two weeks to prepare for this team, you should be able to contain it, and Sarah nita's talked about it the day after the conference championship games saying that their offense is pretty easy to prepare for and it another week. The patriots will be up to up to up to the task man were they up to the task. Holy crap. Yeah. You can't say enough about their defense. You really can't. And it was a much maligned unit for this past year because of how poor lady played in the Super Bowl and how poorly they played at times during the regular season less. So the defensive backs who just had a good year pretty much all over all unit, but you can point to. A game. Like that titans game or game. Like the Miami game where they ran roughshod over the patriots defense. I mean the running backs. Well, we talked about Brandon Bolden foreign patriot just gashing Todd Gurley. And so I think it was fair to be a little bit concerned about that. But they stepped up to the task of whether it was them just getting better as the season went on or game plan or them being extra motivated or metronome it impossible to really know definitively. But when the when the coin was tossed from the game got stirred defense was there from the first nap until the last step they competed the entire sixty minutes of that game. They never let up so legacy is impacted based on this game yesterday Bill Belichick now with his sixth title, the legacy of Sean McVay, whose only thirty three years old impacted negatively to say the least because you don't only able to put three points on the board. Here's Sean McVay after the game being very honest about. Saying he was clearly outcoached by masterbuilt. Check. Yeah. They've done a good job with that. You know, really what this stunts and different things. And then they mixed it up. They had played almost exclusively some man coverage principles and decided to take take away and really in the early down. All they ended up doing was playing some single structures in some quarters principles. And then, you know, third down the designers and things like that. But they did a great job was a great game plan. And no other way to say it. But I I got our coach tonight yet, he's honest there. And again, he's only in the second year as a head coach. I think his future is very bright without question. It is. But we talked about this yesterday. We were going down teams whose future looked bright. Okay. This team they're going to get back. There. Didn't we ran down a whole list of teams that we just assumed were would be back in to get back from the NFC because it generally is a deeper conference and what the patriots have done. This really shows. How incredible is going to nine Super Bowls in eighteen years. He also said something about how he does. Now anyone gets over these losses and. He doesn't think he's ever going to get over his loss. No because it's an opportunity. Of course, does that hurt his future? Does that make him not get back to the Super Bowl because he just thinks about this all the time? I gotta learn from it. He said the same thing. Oh, yeah. But it but Tom Brady has been able to put it behind it. But did you sets up one is I three brain say these losses atop to take when you already have. But Seattle was super forty nine. And the falcons went the same after they lost up twenty two three loss. Like disc lush McVay in the room. I wouldn't say crushes McVeigh or even because you can recover from that. But just the way their their roster structured sue's probably gone to leave specific thing we talked about all weekend long. You know, they they put all their eggs in the basket to win it this year has got to the big game. So it's not like they have all these young players. They have several talented young players, but they were all in this year. They went out and traded for Dante Fowler. They went out and they got sue into leave. And Peter's all these advanced players bill's gonna come do for Jared Goff, very soon. Right. Two more years. I think up two more years. And is it a case where Sean McVay is so confident himself who says I can move on from Jared Goff. Let me find another quarterback because it's more about me than the quarter. So no, this is not easy to recover from. Because you don't know if you're gonna go back there, Dan Marino and his second year went to a Super Bowl never win. Again. I remember eight years ago today as the biggest Aaron Rodgers fan, and he was only twenty seven at the time. He won a Super Bowl. I said they're going to run a couple of off here. They're gonna go back several Trump and the next year they fifteen and one and get upset in the divisional round. That's never been back. Let's just say talking about dinosaurs went back since two thousand ten breeze been to one wasn't been back. It's not an easy to get. You look at these lists and say, well, you know, Roger Staubach got the five Super Bowls. And now Brady's gone to nine he's gone to almost twice as many Super Bowls as the next quarterback has gone. I mean, it's just like all of this stuff is almost can't comprehend what Brady and Belle check in this organization has done more likely goes SuperBowl..

"They're going to have to throw. I like like Milan. All right. Switching back to the running backs. Here got a very interesting name, especially you know, anytime it's a running back because a lot of people of of always hurt been hurt on running back death. It seems to be a lot of injuries at the end of the year at the running back position affiliate had one a few weeks ago. We've always had the Pittsburgh scenario. Obviously Kansas City situation. Kaelin Balaj Frank is going to miss the remainder of the season. The last two weeks killing Balaj gets twelve touches turns one into a seventy five yard touchdown. They're at home. They're favored by four points. I what do you make of him? I think he's I think he's very interesting because I'm wondering if Miami's like do we have he's a rookie, by the way for I know, who doesn't know. Do we have something here? We we see what we have more of this guy or I don't think he's going to get a lot of touches. But you know, I expect Miami to probably still be a head AMI playing the ground game. I mean, I don't I don't love him this week not. I mean, he's he's looks like he's starting to you know, coming off fresh off a breakout game. Unfortunately, it's week sixteen. Most people have their their championships this weekend. And if you're in the championship and you're looking at potentially starting Caleb lodge? That's a huge risk because we've in like you said a one seventy five yard touchdown one pretty skewed for Kim. Balaj only one catch in the game. And we really haven't seen anything from him other than that performance against a pretty stout. Jacksonville defense that has been torched at times the season. But it's not like penny Drake is is going away. Brandon Bolden is still, you know, there's a brand Bolden side. And he's still getting touches. So I don't love Kalem Balazs. I put him below. If you're looking at a flexed situation, I like, Mike Williams alike, Robbie Anderson. I like Robert Foster all significantly maybe not significantly more. There might be too strong of a word. But I think they're heading shoulders above Kaelin Balaj this week. Okay. Let's talk about running backs though. Let's completely agree. I think those are pretty easy calls. Let's help out some people with some maybe very difficult. Second running back spots. We've seen it in the private talking heads nation group message one person had Doug Martin in and Kaelin Balaj on the bench. How do you handle that? Because that's where I think a lot of people are going to be struggling someone who doesn't have a lot of upside you just picked up someone break that down. That's a tough one. I think I'd be fine starring Campbell lodge over Doug Martin because Doug Martin hasn't had a twenty point game all season. He's somebody that isn't going to really catch the football. Their offense is so bad yet. He had three ES streak. Read a touchdown three straight games in a row. They're playing a better defense this week in Denver. And there's a chance he could get in the end zone. But let's let's face it. He's completely touchdown dependent killing Balaj topped one hundred yards and really first game playing really getting serious touches. So I think that the downside of Kim Balaj isn't too far from Doug. Martin's upside. So I I would go kill Balaj. They're both risky for different reasons. But I think kaylin Balaj at least has upside can these give you a game where Doug Martin just not going to. I've got a couple of other ones here because this is this is this is I think very interesting and tricky spot, Jordan Howard. You know, I I've I've I've hated Jordan Howard all year. I was completely off. I was extremely overvalued going into the season. And that opinion has really been validated by his performance, and he gets a ton of some for someone that gets a ton of touches a ton of Kerry's. He's the definition of mediocrity. I think against San Francisco, and now if we're talking about comparing him to Doug Martin, and he'll Balaj I and then this crazy 'cause I want to say that I would definitely go with him. We're both them. He's not too much different than Doug Martin. If you look at their numbers..

Well, though, they played wealth the offense ten to twenty yards to four string. Yeah. We we also gave up two touchdowns the Brandon Bolden last week that happens. But they're getting better is a fair to say that he has been in a position recently where he just has to outscore everybody like Peyton Manning used to have to because defense is so bad. And now he's getting a little older, and he's not quite the arm or decision maker used to be. So this happening. This is the same the same season. We beat the chiefs. We're still talking about the same team that put up forty three points against this is December now. Yeah. Before game suspension to kinda rest in. You know what I mean? He did to get. So then fell today, you must agree quarterbacks are built to last in this NFL, especially with the TV slope, trim forty some years old. That's by point Tom forty. It's time Tom's been when he went for a long time once four more years after this one because he hasn't. He's got so much scrutiny last year from suck in the breath out of his child to live longer. Whatever it takes. No, no word yet. No putting up ten points on that defense. Oh, digs should there. Be somewhere. I don't think the patriots weirdo. I really don't until they lose the place to that shoddy. My mind. There's still the favorites in the form squirms. You gotta understand listening to America. "Right. And you got about eighty five or ninety percent, very explicitly. I do probably myself on that one just very Assa Terek area by life to thirty rocket offensive lineman. That's what you have got all you've got mister maze. That's not true. You are a internet superstar. You have a variety of properties that I'm sure you wanna plug here on the show. Please go check out the ring or NFL show. We recorded last night on Sundays. We always do. I sound just as bad on that. I believe it will this one. I am writing several times this week really about the patriots today. And whether this is actually the type of team we should start getting worried about based on their tough road to the playoffs. And it's actually they don't really look like a patriots team. And I wouldn't writing a few more times this week as we kinda crank up to the playoffs. So go check out the ringer dot com. I'd appreciate it briefly. I mean are are the patriots team that we should be worried about. Yeah. I think so I mean, it's very hard to win three playoff games. And if they ended up getting the three seed that's a tougher road. And they've had nine years and just think about the amount of penalties yesterday draw passes just a brain farts Brady that had been uncharacteristic. I think at a certain point we have to start giving credence to just because they were the patriots uniform doesn't mean that they're the patriots were used to. So I I think that I'm starting to get a little bit concerned hints the thing. And I you know, I I like being right? I like predicting things before they happen. I think I hopefully got better at it. Over the years, I would much much much much much rather be a YouTube late on the patriots on a year too early. Yeah. That's fine. That's why. And I could be wrong. I it's it's a dumb thing to predict that they're going to miss out or is it dumping to pick gets them. And that's why. But I just think that this team looks a lot different than the patriots team just in recent years. And if you're road in the AFC playoff includes the Texans and the chiefs, and you can't block anybody. It's gonna be a bad couple of weeks. I mean, do you tribute just two older age was that the biggest thing driving these these these sort of difficulties for the patriots? I did that a little bit. And yeah, maybe maybe that is just it. I mean, I think that you Brady making these decisions is pretty uncharacteristic. And I think Roger's nearly as explosive as he was I think the defensively they don't have a ton of talent on that side of the ball. You think about what g when Samuel's in Brandon Bolden done to them the last two weeks, they're getting gashed? So I don't know it just seems like they're myriad issues. Maybe a little bit too much to overcome this time, I think Brandon Bolden MP's time. The revenge game are. Argument to be made for the patriots. But Johnson through You didn't have. didn't have to say, no such argument. I don't know. I think I think gronk is definitely less than one hundred percent. But I also wouldn't shock me for the patriots. The score, you know, sixty five points over the next two weeks against the bills and against the against the jets and suddenly look fine heading into the postseason surprise me either. But if they end up getting three seat, and they have to play off games for two months rode, it doesn't matter if you beat up the bills in the jet. Yeah. I guess that's true. Well, we will see I'm sure no one reminds you. If you underestimated the patriots, especially working dot will not come up in the slightest. Sorry that we did not catch you on the the best day in terms of your physical condition. But certainly appreciate you do it. He playing through your fever. "The d would carry them to a wild car, maybe a sneaky wildcard spot. And that's how I feel about the Browns. They're just competent now. They're not going to have a horrible turnover ratio like they have the past three years. They're actually. To be competent in that area with a rebuild secondary and tyrod Taylor quarterback, and that's gonna lead to drives not ending with interception going to lead to more scoring opportunities that should help guys like Carlos Hyde and Nick. The problem here really Bill is who's the guy? The guy in early downs is it is it hide who's coming off his least effective season, but his best fantasy season because he was in that Kyle Shanna hint Shanahan offense or is a Nick Chubb. The second round pick. I I don't know. That's why it makes hard makes it hard to invest in either of those guys. The one thing we do know do Johnson will be out there when they're throwing the football. That guy is so good. Top-five and targets catches receiving arts last year at seven touchdowns. I think his touchdowns he'll come down a little bit is touches overall. We'll probably come down a little bit, especially in the carry side, but he's still, he's too good. They just extended him. He's gonna play a big role. So I think he's your safest guy there. Yeah. I mean even projected with one hundred sixty seven points in PR way ahead of cross eyed at one of four, Nick trebek ninety eight and it could just be, you know, it could just be a thing of timing. Like you figure Carlos height is going to start the year as the early down back and it'll probably by the end of the year, either be Nick chopper it'll be Carl's height place. It'll be Carlos height or if he stays healthiest Carla side. So I mean, it seems like if you're you're drafting, probably wanna lean towards criticized Israeli down back. But if you're in the dynasty league, if you're, you know, looking at from longer-term picture, if you can get them late, Nick shot would be evaluated stash for the time being. Yeah, I like him as a player a lot. I think he's a certainly a top dynasty option could carve out a Alfred Morris, marshawn Lynch, sorta production who knows, but they didn't throw the ball to running backs, very much, you know in college. So maybe he can do a little bit more in that than we realize in that department. And we've seen that from some guys in the league, marking room, being guy that really jumps out remember early in his career where he was not there's no way you can't catch the football. He's never gonna catch more than ten twelve balls. And then now he's one of the highest in the category over the past three or four seasons being Eric blunt to being a legitimate, got receiving threat. So I mean, that's awesome. This has been very helpful for me as someone who has dress coming up bike people on. Check out more of what you're doing. You're all over ESPN. Yeah, we got some NFL content coming out. "I, we're looking at different things because from from where things I have seen, I still feel like he is considered a top five if not a top three, I will not being drafted ahead of the show in Washington. It's not being drafted ahead of air, Roger. Yeah. Where's in ADP right now? He is the quarterback. What do you have that? I'm about to pull it up for. Have he's number four. Okay. So still respect I, and that makes sense. I will say the the range of rankings on Tom Brady are far wider than the guy's going around that area. Aaron Rodgers. His worst ranking among the the industry's second, right? Meanwhile, there's going to be people who will say, Tom Brady is done. They're calling they're calling for the end. It didn't look like the end to me, but I think losing Brandin cooks actually, is it it factors in what is the health of of gronk? So the range of outcomes for Tom Brady, who while he was the believe the quarterback three on the season this this past year, I've talked about how after those first few games where he padded up the total points. It was a bit like drew Brees where it was this back back in type quarterback, one performance more often than not. So it wasn't a, it wasn't dominant. And now we're going on what three straight years of Tom Brady just destroying people's fantasy football playoffs. Your? Oh, yeah. I mean, that's part of, I think when some people have a problem with Brady, it is the fact that he disappointed. Appeared so hard at the end of the season. And so that kind of leaves that that taste in your mouth in my rankings. I've got Tom Brady eight, and I completely agree. He could absolutely finish as the quarterback one. I don't see that without outside the realm of possibility, but age Tuss factor in, he's going to be forty one before the start of the season, and I don't. I haven't noticed anything that says you've lost step. His brain is always a step ahead. I would love to have Tom Brady on my team this year, but the risk is there. I mean, look, the same exact stuff could be said about Peyton Manning across the board how great he was. He was always instill is step or two steps ahead of everyone watching the game. But once he got an injury at that age, he couldn't get it back because he wanted a plate man, right? Sure. I mean, maybe Tom Brady diet. We'll take him to the, you know, forty five, but you've also got bad vibes around the patriots. And we have to be honest about that. I mean, every report coming out about infighting about prob. Blooms on happiness. Those things affect the team. Now they could go twelve and four. They could. Instead of thirteen and three because of the infighting. I'm saying it was joke, Jason. I hasn't heard them. I got them at ten, which is like, oh, you've got weight, you're the patriots at ten wins. Yeah, that's right. You heard it here. The demise of the patriots only barely double the pets. That's a pretty hot take. Yeah, interesting. That's that's how I see it. And also you got to keep in mind. They did draughts only Michelle, I believe Sony, Michelle. Is there. The best running back that they've had in a while. And so you've, you've got a guy coming in that. Could you know succeed more on the ground and you know maybe some of those touchdowns you know if if goes from, you know Brady last year with thirty two touchdowns at ends up twenty eight, good number. He's, he's going to be the quarterback eight. We'll say good. Rushing to not hurt Tom Brady last year. They were tenth in yards per game on the ground. Second in the air hard to imagine a player producing to the level of Dan Lewis production, right? But if you gave me, let's start here running back breakdown, Sony, Michelle, Rex Burkhead, James white, and then I'm gonna put etc. To define Jeremy hill. My only Brandon Bolden will be on the roster, etc. Give me your carry breakdown estimate. What do you expect to see from this team? High investment, Sony, Michelle, but yet the understanding of rexburg and he knows what to do on the field. He's been a part of this offense for longer than one training camp. And so Mike, I know you like Rexy. I like him a lot. Does..
