"Maximus. Moving people and technology forward. And here's van ravy. All right, Jenny, the big news for the capitals as both Nicholas backstrom and Tom Wilson said to make their season debuts tomorrow against the Columbus blue jackets backstrom set to become just the second player in league history to resume his career after undergoing hip resurfacing surgery. It is not a common procedure, and it was recently suggested by the team that this was a last resort effort, so that backstrom could return pain free and the rehab has gone well over the past few months. So great to see Nikki backstrom set to play tomorrow and make his season debut Tom Wilson. Meanwhile, also coming back after recovering from a torn ACL NFL, the encouraging news with bill's safety demar Hamlin, his condition continues to improve the breathing tube he was relying on has been removed, Hamlin even FaceTiming with his teammates in Buffalo yesterday. It's all uplifting news for a 12 and three bills team that general manager Brandon bean says is very special. I will forever remember this team this season, the moments of it, you know, I'm still hopefully optimistic that we can make a run, but I don't know if there's ever a team I'll be more proud of than this. And the bill is taking on the Patriots tomorrow in Orchard park, New York, big game for the Patriots. If they win, they clinch a playoff birth week 18 kicks off this afternoon, the chiefs in Las Vegas at four 30, a Kansas City win, and the chiefs would clinch the top seed and a first round buy in the AFC. "The NFC east that with 7 and a half. I forgot that too. I went to a Washington Carolina preseason game when I camp tour just because it was just geographically worked out. And I was sitting there thinking like this is there was nobody in the stands, the media there were coming up and being like, what are you, what are you doing here? Is something wrong? Are you working on something? And I was sitting there saying, this is the most hopeless situation in the world, and then I remembered that two years ago, not only do they make the playoffs, they kind of gave it to the bucks a little bit. They did. Who is a Taylor heinecke? If there is a Tyler heinecke game, it was that. Well, we don't have to worry about seeing Washington the playoffs this year fortunately for all of us. So I sent you a list of teams. Yeah. I separated them into two categories. The kind of can't believe it, but there's a piece of you that does, right? And for me that the demarcation line was basically two to one because you can find all these odds on FanDuel. So Miami is plus one 42. I'd be a little surprised because I'm not a two guy. But I also wouldn't be shocked because, you know, they're fast, new coach, like, who knows? Cleveland's plus one 70. I guess the case for them if they could just hold on until the Sean comes back, if they're like. Yeah, whatever. I don't personally think that happened. I can see it. Vegas is plus one 70. I think a lot of people actually believe in Vegas so they're out. Arizona is plus one 18. I'd actually be very surprised if they made the playoffs, but plus one 18 means I'm probably two fever. Is that because of the division or because of the homework clause or because of the talent? I didn't like the Kyler stuff at all. I didn't understand that. I didn't like that they humiliated their quarterback right after they signed up to a staggering amount of money. I don't like how they ended the last two seasons. I don't think they're well coached. I don't like that Hopkins is out for 6 weeks. I think they've missed on some of their big picks, which always makes me nervous when you've just missed on the 17th pick in the draft. What else am I missing? No, you pretty much got it. It's pretty much a clean sweep. You're right. Yeah, they just. No Hopkins for 6 weeks, a big deal. And then the last kind of can't believe a team is the giants. Who Rahim is coming up after you, and he's been bullish on them all some of their plus two 25 to make the playoffs. I don't know. Listen, I really like Brian dabel spent a lot of time with him in the past. The way that buffalo basically tried to flush their entire roster over the first two years, like Brandon bean, I think after the first trick, the biggest cap hit in the history of football to get rid of a bunch of dog Whaley contracts. Like I don't think that the Giants themselves have high expectations for this year because they're kind of going on the buffalo method. So I don't I don't want to have high expectations in the actual organization if that makes sense. So I thought about putting them in the I can not believe a category. But I think everybody is so desperate to find an NFC east team. That this has led to this eagle Super Bowl hype train and now has led to a Philly podcast on the ringer and so I can't quite put them in there. I have 17s in the can not believe the category. I'm just going to rip through them, and then we'll go through them all in time. Pittsburgh plus three 30. Jacksonville plus four 50. Carolina four to one Detroit plus four ten Seattle 5 to one jets plus 7 ten and Houston 15 to one. There's some teams I cut out like Houston Chicago because they're not making the plans. So go one by one. I crossed off Pittsburgh because everything I've read about the offensive line has absolutely put the fair go to me. And I think their division is really good with Baltimore and Cincinnati. I wanted to talk myself into it. I like Flores being there. The post Ben Roethlisberger season, they hit on the pickens pick. They have some blue chip dudes. Wat people like that. I get it. Couldn't quite get top heavy. It's top heavy. They've got some absolute superstars, but then there's not a lot of B plus players there. You mentioned the offensive line. George pickens unbelievable. Like I was watching team reps with the sealers the two days I was there and I was like upset on if you've ever seen this but like I was upset when he wasn't in 'cause I'm like, I just don't I want to see this guy boss some random third year defensive. That was amazing to see. And I've never really felt like that with a rookie, but it was amazing to see Tomlin's never had a losing season, so I don't think they're going to be awful, but I just think that it's like I did a piece with their GM a couple weeks ago and I'm just looking at the roster and some of their some of the ways that they played last year and I just don't I just don't see it. We're aligned. So I wasn't that scared by trubisky who I'm not a fan of. But if I felt like they had,

"Think it is really helped the tanking situation. I think you have teams that would have thrown in the towel and just given up with 6 weeks to go, that now don't do that. The spurs are a great example. Even the Knicks, I think would have thrown in the towel a little bit sooner if they didn't feel like they had a chance at to get the ten seat. So it has helped with the tanking. Then the other thing they did was that they made all the odds even for the bottom four teams, basically. I just feel like it's more competitive down the stretch now. I really do think it's made a difference. So now you have a couple of teams that are just like, Orlando's like, we're good. We're done. And the next even are like, all right, we'll start playing the young guys a little bit now. But for the most part, I think the thing that I agree with you on the 34 and 49 and stuff like that. I just think it should be if you can't get to like 37 wins, you're not eligible. But then what if there's only 9 teams? That's fine. We skip a playing game. We just so then we have horse. Whatever. But you have to get to at least 37 and 45 to be able to. It's just weird. To me, and look, I think it's kind of cool to the pelicans are going to play a playoff game and God bless the Zion thing is weird, but I get it. I get it for those markets, but to me, it's just kind of embarrassing. Like this is not good for the league. The same way adding the extra team to the NFL playoffs. I don't think is ultimately good. It just feels like you know I like it. It's more gambling. I enjoy that part. I'm also very salty because I grew up a Montreal exposed fan. All I wanted to do was ever see them in the playoffs once. And now like every team makes it to the playoffs. I couldn't get to see them one playoff game. And their existence in 1981 was their only playoff series, and I was a born. I was born in 82, and I'm like, jeez, Louise. Now everyone makes the bills, didn't make the playoffs for 17 years. And now everyone's making the playoffs. It doesn't feel like it's the same. The payoff isn't as great. Before we go, give us your state of mind with the bills. It's been three months. You have new quarterbacks in the conference now. Matt Ryan's there now. Deshaun Watson, Russell Wilson. The chiefs are a little bit worse, but you come so close. You flew so close to the sun. You flew right by it, you know? Now you're the favorites again. I guess that's good. The bills are the favorites to win the Super Bowl. But what's the state of mind of the fan base? Is it because I remember when this happened in 2003 Red Sox? It was really rock bottom emotionally mentally. Like really feeling like, should I do this to my kids? Should I pass this team down? Like, you go to dark places. So what was that couple of weeks like after? First of all, what a great promo I had on the show leading into that game. I thought it was one of the all time best promos and I felt like I really did galvanize the fan base. Very few times in my life has a loss hurt me so much. Honestly, I couldn't move from my couch, my middle son was watching with me. He went to bed. He came back in the fourth. He snuck down. I said, I'm not going to tell mom, sit here and watch this with me. And when they scored that touchdown with 13 left, I was openly crying and I hugged them and I'm going to get emotional now again and I was like they are finally going to do it because I swear to God bill I know this for a fact they win that game they are winning the Super Bowl. No one can tell me otherwise. And it just hurts so bad. And that game hurt me like I watched the highlights afterwards and I remember watching them I was in St. Louis for the Royal Rumble that following weekend I sat and watched the highlights when they played like the NFL films behind the scenes stuff and it hurt me like someone kicked me in the stomach. But I can't tell you this enough. I have never believed in an athlete on my team more than I believe in that guy Josh Allen. I believe in that guy. You know who my favorite athlete is of all time. I don't know if we ever talked about this. And I've always disagreed with you on this one. It's Patrick Ewing. You have your Ewing theory. It's a very famous theory. And I didn't agree with it because I was blinded by the fact that I will go to my grave thinking that if he had another guy on his team blah, blah, blah. I don't think many people can argue with me on Josh Allen. There is no Josh on theory. He makes everyone better. And I really, truly believe that this will make him better. I felt last year going into the season. They were too cocky. They believed in their own SHIT a little too much. They got punched in the mouth week one against Pittsburgh. I don't think that's the case. I consumed every single piece of media that he did Super Bowl media row and it told me that this guy was hurt still that he was mad, he didn't want to be there. He was doing a sponsor thing. And then what happens in the off season? Von Miller. Fun Miller doesn't come to buffalo. The von Miller's world don't come to buffalo, right? Tremendous deal. Brandon bean, given the executive of the year award now, tremendous deal. They've signed a couple other guys like it very much. Also, the draft I think is going to be good. I'm a little worried about running back. I don't love the running back situation. All to say I could sit here for hours and talk about it. I truly believe that this is going to be the year. And I love the fact that Tommy came back. Please give me Tommy in the Super Bowl once and for all so we can freaking lay the SmackDown on his candy old ass and be done with him enough of this. I mean, one of the old, please, come on, you have to admit. It's one of the most disgraceful things you've ever seen. The way he's behaved this off season. He does the retirement. He doesn't give a shout out to the Patriots. If I were a patriots fan, I would burn his Jersey. The way he does the quote RTO, thanks guys. That's it. Doesn't even give a shot. Then he comes back enough. He's an egomaniac. I'm tired of him. Give me the bucks and the Super Bowl bills bucks in February, exercise the demons, hallelujah. Thank you, God. I can't refute the Brady point. Disgusting..

"Donated $26,000 so far this season of idiot bank honest to goodness. Remember FDIC member DIF Sean's patriots postgame show with Jim Marie Jo Murray patriots pet the bills 14 to ten are now joined by Greg bidder to Boston sports journal Boston sports journal dot com and Greg pretty simple question to start how much do you think that Bill Belichick enjoyed that type of game and the way that it played out and beating the bills the way he and his team did? Oh my gosh. If he was pounding bud heavies after the jets game at Gillette stadium, he's probably doing keg stands right now on the bus on the way to the airport. That was just look, I think that was among the handful of greatest Bill Belichick coaching performances ever. I'm sure it made some patriots fans very nervous. And how they didn't throw the ball, but to not even throw the ball just go straight running game and defense and special teams and watch Sean McDermott loses stuff the whole game on the sideline. Oh my God, he must have been giggling to himself the entire game. I mean, he was just, it was something to behold. It was I thought it was Picasso for Belichick and yeah, I'm sure he's thrilled with this. And did you just see so Sean McDermott apparently has been talking in the last few minutes this quote from Sean McDermott, let's not give more credit than we need to give Bill Belichick on this one. They're coming on glued hot. They've lost their minds. They really are. This is the same guy who after last year when the Patriots came up here with Cam Newton and a half of football team was driving for the winning score when some reserved defensive lineman punched it out from Cam Newton. This is the same guy who in his postgame press conference talked about how we're going to really take a minute and enjoy that one this one. And now off of this game on Monday Night Football with all that was on the line two of the best teams and not only the AFC east but the AFC to come into your place where you play in these conditions, or at least somewhat like these conditions, a lot of the time. And for you to minimize this victory for what it means to the Patriots and what it meant. I mean, what a joke. I mean, I used to, I really like Sean McDermott. You know, I've interviewed him countless times over the years, and he was a guy that I have greatly respected over his career he's done things the right way. I knew when he came to buffalo, him and Brandon bean would get it going in the right direction and he did formulate a really good program. But holy hell the last like two or three years he just become a big baby. And that's just the latest example of it. Yeah, I was just going to say I think the Patriots Bill Belichick won this game tonight with one hand tied behind his back. That's the way I'm going to say this with only throwing the ball three times, but we have all night to talk about Josh Allen's play, but just sticking on McDermott for a second here. He had ten guys in the box with Nikhil Harry on the field. Every weekend and week out, we have the same conversation. They're going to run the football in the kill Harry on the field. They do the little crack back on him. They get the fullback outside. Damian Harris scores a touchdown ten guys in the box. That's on them. They challenge the Mac Jones fourth downplay, which they had no shot at that one. And then finally not going for it on fourth down when the send out the field goal unit. I mean, those are all plays that were on the Buffalo Bills tonight in Sean McDermott coaching and I just think Bill won this game with a hand tied behind his back. Absolutely. I mean, it just shows you you give Bill semblance of a roster and a quarterback who can execute things. And probably one of the unsaid things about this game is everybody will be like, oh, well, Mac Jones is only attempted three passes, but I'm sure if you ask Josh McDaniels behind the scenes or something like that, he would say, you know, Mac Jones made a bunch of checks at the line to keep us in good plays and good running plays and figure out where the weakness was and stuff like that. And yeah, I totally agree with you. Joe that Belichick just he coached his butt off and McDermott just look, he has the better roster. I mean, it's close now. It's very close, but he has the better roster. He has the better quarterback. He has the better weapons. He has flashy guys on defense, but when it comes down to what this game did was boil it down to just simple football. And in the trenches football and tackling and special teams, all the little things that make you a really good team and it just exposed why the bills last year, the bills probably this year, while they're never going to be a really, really good team because they just come up short in those areas. Did you find it telling that Belichick blitzed on that fourth down that last attempt where he blitz Josh Allen with a bill's obviously patriot's territory at the end of the game there? I think that speaks to how he spoke about him going into that Monday night game last year. He just doesn't really believe in Josh Allen. I mean, it has to, Jim, I mean, that was just an incredibly gutsy call. He basically what Belichick and Steve Belichick and Gerard Mayo were telling you there. And they had the whole two minute warning to talk about what they were going to do. And they came out and said, we're sending the house, including some guy named Sean Davis, who I barely even heard of. I think he's the guy. Number 30. You know his name. I couldn't figure it out, okay. Well, that's what I said the Evan Lazar sitting next to me in the press box. I was like, who the hell is number 30? It's not Jason mccordy anymore. And like, why is he playing free safety in the red zone in the biggest part of the game? And that was even before Adrian Phillips got hurt, but to call that call was just unbelievably gutsy. Basically what they were telling you was if we spook Josh Allen, he's going to rush his throw. He's going to rush his decision and he's not going to make a good throw or decision. And that's exactly what he did there. I mean, the last two plays, if he stays with the plan, he reads the play properly, if he doesn't freak out and get sped up and get out of his element, which he always does, Dawson Knox is open on third down. Cole Beasley is wide open. I mean, I don't know how he could look at that defense to say, all right, well, if they're coming, then Cole Beasley is going to be open on a slant. They're playing off. Everyone's playing 7 yards off the receiver. There's only three receivers in the route. Cole Beasley is the inside guy. He runs an inside slant, just throw it on the inside. And instead he's looking at stuff on digs and it was Josh Allen was so tunnel vision on that play that miles Bryant in man coverage in zero man came off his guide to deflect the pass. I mean, that's just how bad Josh Josh Allen was in that play, and that's a tip of the cab. That's you're exactly right, Jim. That tells you exactly what Bill Belichick thanks to Josh Allen. "There digs the g. Longer season. And i don't think any of us know how it's going to play. I don't think the coaches know how they're gonna play yet. I don't think anybody has a quota win. It's only one game is what i think is such a crazy thing but just that one game being added. It's like okay. The guy that was crawling into the sixteenth game last season. What does that mean now. With another game on top of that do we. Do you arrest some players more. Do you take like you take a bi week. Maybe for a couple of your players in the middle of the season as opposed to your all is well as your by week. I'll be fascinated in situations of situational. So i think it'll kind of get balanced out. But jeff saturday alluded to that fact. He's basically katie. Let's use these first. Two games against nfc teams really gives a fuck for the coats in kind of ramp up and see what we got. But there's teams out there right now. Chiefs. they're looking to go undefeated box. They're looking to go undefeated. I mean this is the first time in a long time. We have teams. Actually i don't want to say talking about it but almost like the expectations are hey team knows that an undefeated season is there like this team knows that this could happen. They know what they are. I think we'll just kind of have to see how it does. I'm not sure you're gonna see anybody resting anybody in these first couple of regular season games. I think it's hey we gotta hit it and get it and hope that our training camp was enough for us to get by will. Do think like there's no right or wrong way to do this. Because like we. I mean the chiefs. Their starters played that whole first half. And i think that makes a little bit more sense. Because they didn't have any of the lineman. All of those guys are new so they maybe want them to get a little chemistry. But like i look at the packers. I haven't paid any attention because they're not. They're not playing any anyone of merit and it's not like if they come out and perform poorly weeks one and two that you'll look back and be like Shit roger rogers in the first team offense. They should have been playing during the preseason. What the hell's going on. Yeah and i think there's a couple of different situations whereby just understands it. Hey they're not playing in the preseason. Aaron rodgers i don't think is a preseason guy but i don't think he has ever come out and said i need preseason now i think complete opposite now on the flip side to that game though josh allen whom oh jeez that thirty eight yards god. He's good seed filthy. I mean absolutely. I watched that game absolutely filthy. That ball that he threw in the excitement the joy him moving the way that team the buffalo bills are a fucking problem especially with bill was mafia now. I don't know if josh allen plays if that's not a home game oh yeah after now. Maybe he will. Maybe this is. How josh allen goes. But i think like buffalo especially oh brandon bean who came out and said like we don't have this control at all. Okay we have no fucking idea what's going on all right. We had a close contact. Somebody that was five days out. We've had multiple five days things we have no idea what's going to come in the middle of the season who knows in this entire thing and i respect and appreciate brain and being general manager of the buffalo bills by the way being very forthright and you know up front with everybody about how we have. No fucking idea what's going to happen. Nobody nobody has a clue what's going to happen. You just gotta hope we're kind of all gets figured out worked out. I think that vaccination level by the way is going to get real high in the nfl. I think it's going to get real real high. But i think the biggest thing that i heard being talked about whenever he was on with us and other people as he was very upset that builds mafia didn't get a chance to experience that buffalo bills run of last year in that game against the packers in preseason game this past weekend that point seemed to be filled up. Yeah packed especially with this austin. Talk and the new stadium talked everything like that. If you know. I feel like that. Maybe i don't know that might play handed in. I'm not sure. Whatever the case getting to see josh allen ball out there i mean the. Afc east is in some trouble for some time. Josh allen and the buffalo bills are why bill belichick craft spent one hundred fifty million dollars on day. One of the free agency tampering josh allen. In the bills or reason why the miami dolphins are allegedly still interested in somebody who potentially has twenty six plus charges still against them count for four to five life sentences if they all ended up positive. 'cause they wanna quarterback in there. The buffalo bills are a rob him in at boston. Connor i know you got a chance to watch cam and macanese preseason games that we just went on entire runabout not mattering matt jones. Like a goddamn player. Though he really the problem for everybody looks like a real player. I mean he's got the respect of his team. That's so clear which i think is massive and also the fire like even. When he threw his first touchdown pass the preseason. because normally they're getting down the goal line running it in and he was in zuber my hands. His face absolutely jacked up shaking them and everything. He was even doing that for monet. Stevenson when he had a rushing touchdown with the bills. Your point isiah mckenzie. One of the guys last week who is out of the out. Because of the protocols he did get vaccinated basically immediately after. So you gotta assume. Those numbers are going to continue to skyrocket. Which is not great for the patriots. Because i was hoping a couple of bills when we play each other. Maybe they're out so you know. Maybe maybe they're not full strength. Because god damn josh allen. Look like an mvp. Yesterday i liked you. Went back to the bills or not tried to pivot the matt jones. That's interesting. I'm sure your fans will question whether mac joe enough o'connor.

"But oh bj's another one you know he's not in our news but there's no reason to be concerned about oh bj but he's not fully practicing just because he's looked great and all these instagram videos. It's like they're taking it slowly. He's going every every other day. It's not eleven on eleven. There are steps in this. You can wonder if o. B. j. o. B. at full complement of snaps week one. Just because they're on the field. I guess to me is not an idea that they're going to really be all the way back all right in other news. Let's talk some money. You start with josh allen. This happened last week. The bills signed their star quarterback to a six year. Two hundred and fifty eight million dollars extension that includes one hundred and fifty million guaranteed. So he's kinda right in that window. Patrick mahomes still the top of the mountain as he should be deck prescott. Who got that huge deal earlier this year. So he's right in between those dudes josh allen just twenty five years old coming off a season where if aaron rodgers doesn't go nuts last year allen's probably the reigning. mvp right now Markelle this makes a lot of sense. And it also for quarterbacks looking for a contract it continues to shape the market for what a star quarterback is worth where everyone else falls beneath that. Yeah i think it's you know one thing i really love about. Football is that you know. In one year's time we can feel so different about players. And you know. I think the josh allen was one of the more polarizing prospects at quarterback that we've ever seen certain scouts going absolutely nuts forum Analytics community essentially mostly down on him. There were outliers there. But i think even just football watchers. Some people look took the early seasons of josh allen and thought this guy obviously athletically gifted and freaky. But there's just certain things that quarterbacks need to do that he's not able to do and i think he went and put so much work into his game. And i look at also sean. Mcdermott and brandon bean. The absolute loyalty. They showed towards a reminds me of the ravens and lamar jackson. It's like he is going to be our quarterback. We're gonna make this work josh allen. They've never questioned on any level. Despite all the doubters they built a really nice offense around him. The contract makes complete and total sense and kind of looking at how it breaks down because it does get more complex for the bills who've been so aggressive and their team building after next season because he makes ten million this year he makes sixteen million next year. That's still gives you a solid next year window to make moves and position for the super bowl but then after that his pay puts you in a position of one of those teams that has one of the highest payed quarterbacks it's harder to maneuver that said i love it. I love for josh allen. He's one of the best stories in the league. Good job by the bills. You keep calling out the doubters of allen. And i just want you to say my name to. I don't think. I don't think greg the you were like the only i think it is more. A community wasn't aggressive about it on this show. Well if i call him out about something that you've been faulty on you could turn around and named probably seventy or eighty on me. And i know that the way you operate as you probably have like a written down lists you have to go. Listen let me but let me be the guy just in between here if we've reached a stage remarks afraid to criticize you because you're gonna come back at and maybe we just need to reevaluate some things about the relationships that dinner wrong a million times and i'm gonna honk on. I'm right so look josh allen. What a guy gotten a lot of draft twitter fired. I don't really consider myself part of draft twitter. Q greg thank you money like i liked that feeling Come at me. i thought rosen. That was a year where i did go and watch the stuff and like like a lot of people. I liked rosen better than josh. So if if jeb draft twitter was actually running a team in and they happen to be up with the tenth pick they would have gotten fired because they would have taken. Josh rosen. who i think's might see career and this month. He's losing a nate seinfeld for the number three quarterback spot in forty nine. I don't know if he's going to get them. I don't know if he's to get another chance. Meanwhile lamar's won an mvp and allen and baker is going to get his contract and allen's gotten this this money we could have been more wrong. Anyone who thought josh. Rosen was better than judge. I mean it's such a crapshoot. I remember the year before or heading into last season at the combine someone. That's hugely respected in the draft industrial complex. Saying to us. Oh yeah the guy to watch out. And stay away from his herbert justin. Herbert was one of the greatest. Afl history quarter. What's taken ahead of darnold josh on. I think the contract structure is just worth pointing. I've gotten less into this over time. But i think it's interesting. These guys are taking these long deals and okay. It's basically five for one sixty four once you break it down once. We got all the details before the bills could potentially get out of it. So that's like a big commitment. That's essentially guaranteed that he's getting that one sixty four which is huge. And that's great. That's why josh take it but per year. That's only thirty one thirty two like he's going to be underpaid sooner than later and both he and mahomes made the decision we're going to give up leverage long-term and kind of let the chiefs and bill's control our entire careers because we're gonna sign such long contracts versus what kirk cousins did in prescott to a lesser degree. Didn't take the shorter deals. If you wanna make the most amount of money the cousins and deck routes actually is the way to go if you wanna make sure you're all good and you're in you're happy with your team and you're going to be happy them kind of controlling your situation for basically your whole career..

"To get seriously paid with a contract extension for it might not happen this. These allah finished second in. Mvp voting last year. Bill gm brandon bean fears. Set on getting it done before the season starts were wait. Another year being said quote joson. Ro lockstep on that. There will be no negotiating in season at some point. Press the paul's but we'll see here soon. We're in august. So i say we're down to a few weeks to get this done or delayed tried again in twenty twenty two. Hopefully we can get something done this year so great or the bills. Miss halen josh allens contracts. Yeah i believe they are. And and i get it. They do have a great relationship. They being josh salad and brandon being the general manager. And you can throw sean mcdermott. The head coach and brian cabell offense according to you can throw them all in there. They have a great relationship. They communicate about pretty much everything in there in lockstep however we just saw what happened down in dallas with the dallas cowboys in that prescott when they decided to wait and they wanted more and they've wanted to press ause just for him to dak prescott to prove himself if you give players that are playing at the clip. Lie josh allen who finished second in. Mvp brody voting an opportunity to continue to improve the price tag only goes up like i don't understand what they don't say about this like you. There is no benefit in waiting on the only benefits and this is unfortunate if a player gets hurt. If josh allen stays healthy we all feel like this is a really good team who they are continuing to put pieces around him so that he can get even better so that his numbers will probably get even better and so for me when you go from the year that you had a josh allen. I'm looking at it like yeah less positive. You want to because the price the price of admission go up even more the following year so yeah. I think it's a mistake on behalf of the buffalo bills which i which is why i truly. They're going to try to get something done before the season start. Yeah i think they are. Miss hailing this. But i understand why they're in this place right now. Let's talk about i. How mishandling well just like you say greg. He's gonna get better because he's gotten better every single year and he's going to get more expensive now only because he's going to get better well because of the inflation that's the current and nfl especially at that position so a guy who's improved his record every single year. Completion percentage every single year touchdown it percentage every single year fewer interceptions passer rating better every year passing yards per game every year. Do what are you going to happen. He's going to get better. Maybe not in terms of the numbers because he's of close to the ceiling in terms of performance but in terms of impact. This is a team. Now that finds itself facing the dynastic kansas city chiefs team and afc championship game and in buffalo their star for quarterback. Like this. I mean you gotta go all the way back to. When i was there with jim kelly before me before they had something that resembled a josh allen. Now why are they here because we were just pay to do. He's going to be cheaper now than later. Walk into a and half sticker shock. Yeah we all have like you want some. You walk in to get this. Get this buddy. Whoa this going affect my life. This is not a simple purchase so they know running the team running organization. We love you josh. Allen just like i love that item i wanted to purchase but this thicker shock. Makes me paul's damn the fact. Pay this to josh allen. Invest in him. I'm going to suffer here here here and here running game potentially office davis lot wherever you want to point is going to have a counter affect so that's why they're in this position right now so i understand it. But they still are mishandling ono mishandling. They're playing this perfectly. Because here's the thing if you bring into being that you have to determine the josh allen heavy great year or is he agree player by all standards look. He was an mvp. Keller please last year. But last year wasn't only you that he played in the national football league. Twenty eight twenty one thousand nine. Let's see this marcellus. Because i know we always have these debates with cam newton so josh allen completion percentage under sixty percent in each of those years passing yours per game under two hundred in each of those years passer rating under one hundred in each of those years. Does that sound like a forty million dollar quarterback that you willing to go all in absolutely not so if you're the buffalo bills what you wanna do you wanna make a smart decision. Must like you said walking in the store for that big ticket item and then the sticker shock. Oh yeah if you're brandon bean. You need to make sure that what you're investing is is going to give you the return on investment that justifies big contract that he's going to walk around and also walk into the locker room with because other guys can't get paid. When josh allen gets paid Here you bucket but at the same time you like okay last year. Thirteen and three. You're trying to make it or painted like it's an anomaly. Okay but the year before ten and six so joke first of all this remember where he is buffalo. You're talking about another team. Only went to the playoffs once since i was there and i've been retired a long time bookie so this is another place star that we were talking last segment about the writers. He's having an impact. He's improving every single year. It's not one of those roller coaster. Improvements like baker. Mayfield great bag great. It's good better while now. What's going to happen if you take care of them. You're gonna have this guy relaxed shoulders down knowing this is his team. You're going to buy that equity because you're going to invest in him but to your point a little bit and to a different point. Why can't we negotiate during the season. Like i hate. When that comes out is like a mandate like you know what you're going to be distracted or hold on if you tell me two hundred million in august and then it gets up to two hundred and ten million to september. I'll plan better in september than i am in august. I don't know how this could ever affect bleed onto the field in a negative way. Because josh ellen knows he's going to get paid the only way he's not going to get paid is if he's not good even if he gets injured dak prescott. He's still going to get paid so if he doesn't go out there and perform it's the same thing for everybody you know. You're not getting paid if you don't perform so that's not even a part of the conversation. Why not negotiate going forward and make sure you get this deal. No no no. No no i mean for me. It's a couple of things i want to touch on. What book is talking about insane. Mishandling it because they want to see if it was just the year will. That's not the case. Because they truly believe that this is their guy. They thought that since the day that they drafted him they felt like he was the smartest quarterback in that draft. They felt like he was going to improve it. Given the supporting cast that they now have surrounded him with. So i don't that's not the case. They truly know that this guy they believe that it's a matter of where that number is. And how can we pay him and still keep these essential pieces. So that we can remain they contender. That's always going to be the case. Why i say their mishandling. It is because it does not matter. You're going to face that same situation in decision next year or during the middle of the season or whenever you decide to sit down in both sides come to an agreement. You're going to have the same type of issues that you have right now presented before you so. Why not get him now even though that sticker price yeah. That's thicker shot. Yeah we've all had that sticker shock but we've always we've all experienced seeing that sticker shock right then and then a couple of months later wishing we took and pulled the trigger on that sticker shock because now the and went up and now we really don't want to get it because there's more than what we would've paid the far side. We should have got it so for me. That's the situation that the buffalo bills are in. Just pay him. He has improved in every area. You have asked and has had won it and seen the fans love him he is. Your guy needs fit or the buffalo weather..

"After i'd been like hey fuck jesus christ drive like buck and watch what you fucking do. Whatever all my bad too big mealy came in the compliment and i was like Yeah just don't kill me. Thank you like immediately. Softens you up because you're like. Oh gee thanks man. Move all right you. Can you want to hit me a little bit. You know aside it makes you. I've had that now happen. Like in social media sends yes. We're they'll be like saying something. And not i'll like chirp back and they'll be like oh big fan mail. I was just very quickly and shit do read the comments. I don't i don't read the comments. I i read like a pop in now. Especially because i'm kind of solo dolo. I need dislike gay. Otherwise i'm just like i feel like i'm buoy loose enough people around me to be like yeah. This is good. This is bad. So i tried to check in a little bit but i don't like i've never been on a red thing i've never Look i don't try to read all of them or anything like that. But like you know on your instagram something. You've read them. That's about as close as i'll come. Yeah but i'm a tweet or something and then you turn back. You're like oh yeah. This wasn't just some random person replying. This guy like likes me. Yeah so i should be so now. I like before i like tweet. Something shitty about an athlete. I'm like what if he follows me. Think about that. Like which is a weird thing to think about. But i'm like. I don't wanna shit on this guy. And then maybe he's like i like your comedy. I feel like a real asshole. Love your baseball dude. Like what am i supposed to say back through your worst first baseman. I've ever seen will compton. And then i'm like oh shit what if will come and i think there was one that followed me back when i was like shading on them and i was like man. I don't wanna say who does. But it was like i was like. Oh god i don't wanna fuck it. I deleted them real quick. What if you likes me. Sure that's could be a concern. Moving forward is we only like stack the chips where you go. I already don't feel like i'm taken to the interwebs too hard to lean in on you know. Like share still touring. What the fuck and then. She actually really enjoyed your episode of curb your and yeah but are there people that have followed you or you found out where fans That have really kind of blowing your mind so far. There's been like a couple like no one that would blow anyone else's mind. Do you know what i'm saying like. I don't care about care about a couple of the bills. Well old bills players and Like a couple of like you know minor league players things like that like i love and then that makes me that does make me though like go. And plus it makes you go like When people start tweeting like josh potter sucks or whatever you know what. I mean random. People that are just tweeting that you go like man that hurts. Yeah you're like. Why am i doing that. It makes you start dealing with seattle like you've climbed the fence in the social media thing where it's like. I don't need to tweet like this guy blows at center field anymore. You know what i mean. We're you know how domino's exactly so definitely made me like more empathetic. In that regard as far as sports fan goes you know especially even with the bills. Like i'll tweet like facetious. Shit like about patriots players like they're all traitors who died traders death if they go to the team but stuff like that. But i'm not. That's just because i love that that particular franchise you know. What do you think about tom. Brady. he's gonna win again nowadays. I relaxed my thoughts on tom brady now that he's out of our division. I don't hate his guts. As much as i once did in fact that when he was in the super bowl this past year ago. Kudos old man. Now i'm no hey goes long as you want buddy play until you're fucking sixty. I don't give a shit as long as you're not wearing that. Fuck in red white and blue patriot helmet anymore. I don't care what you do. You guys have an open ended invites. Just run that division. i feel sort of bel. i feel like it's like star. Wars like this was our end of like the death star. Blew up at the end of new hope. And i'm scared of what bella check scott cooking up you know the the emperor. The empire did build another star. Says they will check the emperor. Yes one hundred percent. Because i was like vader. But not really i guess like maybe you can compare them to something different now. But the vader who's iota on the patriots on the patriots. There's no iota yeah is so he would be on the bills and now iota is. Yoda was really. I gave him that. Just because yoda was old. But now i think brandon bean is iota. I really did enjoy that iota fight. I think it was the sam jackson star wars the cgi when he was in all of the first three in the anikin kill them. Sorry spoiler kid amen. Ford finds out the kids. His josh putter spoiler fashion though because anna can one of his first kills cool. Darth vader's i like kills of the jeddah. And that's like the one of the best things in those movies. Because i don't know the guy who plays the emperor but he's my favorite and because he's just like that's when he starts turning into the emperor because at first he's talking like he's like advocate and you can do whatever you feel you know. He's talking like that but then now he's like no now like that shit he's like yeah he kinda have a little bit of a crank. From the animated turtles back. He went on to start. Hsen as we learned in the cunanan document were the guy voice. Crank started crying himself. Oh you have to watch the duck. This daca here. It depends what it's on. You know what truly tickles your fancy Like all the dark one's gotta temper your if you go down a wormhole of them. Too much of brains fucked. I wanna watch something. Can i see a nice documentary. I know everything's trying to you. Know blow our minds and get us too. I'm not seriously anymore. I used to be but now they're all like seen one. Serial killer is seen them all. Some of them are fucking crazy. I watched one about this guy. That must be three months ago. A killed his kids while the wife he was cheating on her and then killed the kids and then she was like on a trip and came back and like to so fucking depressing and it was just like yeah. I'm just like why did you see the one abducted in plain sight. Yes that that documentary broke. all know. Documentary is going to have as many twists and turn and amazing. I mean you're the guy at the end i was like. Who is this guy. Yeah we don't want to see him like in an interview he died or whatever but yeah no i mean buzzkill wild wild. No documentary will ever touch that one. Anyway what do you talk about on your podcast and josh potter show. We talk about fucked up stories that are like you know kind of fly under the radar. Try not to talk about anything. That like Like you know how people are there like we gotta talk about all the trending topics i find like. I guess like just weird shit. That's going on in little small towns that nobody's talking about because then you know You don't have to get into the whole spider webs of the zeitgeist. Yeah so we talked about that. We talked about sports. But in a way that it's not xs and does things like that it's more of like the wild shit going on off the field mostly but sometimes it's could be on the field a lot of stuff with announcers with fans stuff like that. "The patient, Brandon Bean, don't blink. Don't blink. It's gotta be hard. It's easy that it is hard. Somebody gonna tell me that about something I really wanted. And you know, this assumes Brandon being really wants records. And like, I don't know. Maybe he thinks you know, it would be nice to have, but I'm not gonna You know, go nuts for it. But like the more you sort of sit with something that's available and you know you want it. How are badly and it's just sitting there and like nothing's happening. Um, I think it's hard not to blink, I think Well, he had a hard time not blinking myself. I think what is what I'm admitting here. I blink all the time. Your blinker. I'm a blinker. He has a team that he might even know directly. If I don't know whether that Should happen or what? But whether Earth would want the bills back like that, right? He has a team that would seem desirable to a player looking to win and so He might have an advantage. You might know what he has an advantage. You might just think that he does. Who knows? But if Earth's were released, then If he had options he might have You mean some options? He's not completely Got somebody that no one would ever want other teams. So, um, then it would come down to what he's looking for. And I wonder if the bills no already whether he would like to play for them. Probably they do not that they do. But they Yeah. I mean, there's agents and like, tell me about tampering and rules and whatever, but I would think they have, you know, maybe not from Earth's directly or maybe even not directly from his agent, But I'll bet they have intel that they can trust. That they think they'd have a shot at him. Um, you know, you know again. How badly do you want him like if he if he wants to win, but also wants, you know, to get us close to the salary he was getting in Philadelphia that's causing his release. You know, then, you know, I don't know. But if you hope I think where you want to be, if you're the bills of your brain and being is like you just said I've got I've got a good team. I've got a great team. I've got a Super Bowl contending favorite type team here and you know? Yes. You already got your ring. A few years ago, But like you wanna win, great. We're not gonna pay you as much as you know whoever else might want to pay you. But you know we're going to give you opportunity here to be a part of something pretty special and If that doesn't work, I'm I'm inclined to not want over pay. Really. I don't want to trade really anything for the player because then you're taking on that contract and you're either adding years on Make the cap it this year more palatable. Um and I'm not real interested in that right now. But you know if he would be available, and I gotta sign him for two or three years to make it work For him, You know, depending on the cap number, I think I can live with that. Was he vaccinated? Do we know if he was vaccinated? That might be a factor that stands. Yeah, that might be great. Maybe you trade an asset for the player if he's vaccinated. Yeah, You'd like to know. Maybe everything last night was interesting for that. I mean, the bisons, the Blue Jays, the pipes and stadium. It's always the bison stadiums. Me. Blue Jay. So, of course, they had vaccinated sections, non vaccinated sections. If you were, you could be vaccinated and sit in the non vaccinated seats. Um, but not vice versa. Of course, I imagine that experience would have been a lot like going to a bison game. Well, we were talking about that. I just happened to be sitting right behind Jeremy. That was just random. And we were talking about that. How? You know, it looked kind of nice over there. Whatever you look like you could look either side would have looked nice to the other side, Maybe like we're over here, and we're all packed in. It's sort of like a sports game sports crowd, right? Like you're at a Real thing. People all sort of sitting close together, no masks or anything. But you also kind of like what? You want your space sometimes and there was more space over there. You also had people sitting Between cardboard. Fans like that. There was a foul ball that went up into the second deck, and he's looked up, But it's like all the cardboard fans, but there was a couple sitting like right in the middle of that. Wait, They're real and that threw me a little bit. I love that. You're calling the car book Cardboard cardboard fans? Yes. I don't know what you like. Right cut out there was not And I don't say this critically. I mean, I was I I appreciated that It was somewhat of a relaxed atmosphere in this way. There was not a lot of like enforcement going on. You know, people walking around in the concourse. It might have been like faster lines on the Other side. I didn't go over there, but I know people work sort of going back and forth. I don't know what kind of enforcement might have been happening to people who were not who are not vaccinated on their side of the stadium. But where I was. I mean, it was pretty crowded. Um, but masks no masks. I know that I was asked to put my mask on when I entered the ballpark. And other people said they.

"Okay, I'll give you a some of the things that would happen. Let's say they let's say they do decide to trade Eichel. What you would hope happens is you trade one very talented piece, but one piece and you get multiple pieces back that overall. Make you a better hockey team. It's not going to be a one for one swap. Who knows what they'll get? Three pieces four pieces of player Prospect picks Combo Whatever you would hope that whatever trade you make brings back Multiple talented players that make you a better hockey team. You hope you find the right coach. You hope you have the right GM. Look, we talked about it. The bills wandered in the playoff drought desert forever. Then they hired Sean McDermott, and then they brought in Brandon Bean. They hard of really good head coach who's a good coach. But it's also a good overseer of the franchise and knows how to put a good staff together. And they brought in the general manager who had Sal mentioned yesterday when we talked about Dan Morgan, taking the job in Carolina. They brought in a good general manager who surrounded himself with talented personnel people. So now when the bills go into the draft, and when the bills make trades and the wood when the bills signed free agents more often than not They get it, right. Eh? So you have to hope that happens that eventually it happened for the bills. They finally found the right coach and the right GM and the right people controlling decisions for their organization. You would have to hope. That whether it's Kevin Adams and don Granado or Adams and whoever or whatever the case may be, you'd have to hope that eventually, somehow they've put the right people in place, and they begin to make more often than not correct decisions, putting the roster together for 10 years. They've made mostly incorrect decisions. There's your hope. You hope that's what happens. Get a break in. We have some calls to get to Adolf. Three. Oh, 5 50,000 for Jeremy, But Jeremy's going to be calling in this morning. I think he's got a couple of cents worth. He wants to contribute on this discussion. So he's gonna be with us at night. I mean, no one's ever gone 17 and oh, before it's true, So I feel like that would be All right, Uh, Yeah, I guess. Well, we could do that at the top of the hour. I got up. I got anything. Anything jump out at you. They're good. No, it's funny. I actually was going when you were asking him about the pass rushers, or maybe was about the tackles. Am flashing back to Doug Whaley with us whatever year would have been when we said What do you think of the premium positions and he had five listed right? I think I forget, he said. Quarter was in there right, he said. Quarterback Defensive end tackle corner, right. Maybe you know what it was. It was when when Brandon was saying to you when you asked about the tackles, and he talked about a critical piece is the backup swing tackle, and I thought I've never heard anyone say ah, critical pieces, the backup swing tackling. It made me flash back to waylay and I was going to ask Brandon Bean. What do you think are the premium positions and he answered it all pretty much, he said. Quarterback pass rusher offensive tackle. Yeah, I think I remember Whaley saying. Cause he was talking about what kids and receiver it might not have been receiver. But he said ex factory he needed one guy in there in his, you know, template that was the X factor was the moment like a game breaker kind of thing. You're gonna need it. I took it to me like you need a star, and they decided Watkins was that when they made that trade and look, he said, his words back up their actions for four years around here, he said, Right, Look where we spend our money. The free agent contracts. The draft picks where do they do it? Defensive line for sure, and also a little bit on the offensive line. But you know, they believe truly, you win the game up front, no matter how the game evolves. I mean, back to back conversations with Don Granado on, Brandon being in both cases. You just said it like you have actions backing up what you say. And yes, you know, it just seems like you're you're honest with the people that are Ah Want to know about your team and the goods to be valued? It's always fun..

"Spears. That's Marcus Spears with Gresh and Keith You EI in Boston. Found that on the Odyssey app Yeah, au de A c. Why we are Odyssey, modesty and stuff. Anyway. Honestly, I've heard of that. Yes, I have their socks. So found that on the Odyssey app and Marcus Spears talking about what with the Patriots might do with the draft. How about the just a notion? Belichick would would change his draft strategy because it's not in his strategy to trade up a bunch for a quarterback. Yeah, just right. I mean, come on. That's I am I am SMH Inc as I'm listening to Marcus Spears that shaking my head or actually, But he s s ng s ng mh shaking my head right? I'm SMH Inc because, as I said, Throw it all out the window. That means absolutely nothing. I don't want you about Bill. Don't anybody site Bill Bella Checks draft history to me, means absolutely zero because in almost every draftees run he had Tom Brady. Forget it so well, you know, Belle like Bill likes this. And Bill does that and bills traded up X amount of times, and he's done this and he and he never does this and never does that right? He's never been in this position without a quarterback. Never. He inherited blood so and then went to Brady. And then last year was a different man. He had Newton. They didn't know maybe this or they've never been in this position since Bill Battle check became the coach of the New England Patriots, so take the body of work and destroy it. Because it means absolutely nothing. Right? I'm with you. Yeah, that's what I mean. I I've been reading this stuff for weeks. You know, people have been talking about what? He doesn't like to do this, and he doesn't like to do that. Well, guess what. They they might not have a quarterback. And even if they do think Cam Newton is gonna be good this year unless Bill saying, you know, I'm gonna coach in 2021. Then I'm gonna retire and I could give two hoots. What happens around here in 22 beyond they still don't have a quarterback of the future. They have to get somebody in place unless they really believe. Jared Stadium, and I don't think they do. So forget it. Forget it. Oil. Yeah, And the idea The Tom Palace Arrow had this yesterday that the Patriots are calling up into the top 10 about a quarterback. Here's my hot take on the Patriots draft. If they don't come out of this with a quarterback, you failed. You failed. I agree. They has to. Yes. Right. This is where, um I don't know if all of a sudden this weird buddy Nix was when he basically said to you and I each week on the show. Yeah, we're drafting a quarterback. This is where Brandon Bean was right. When he I don't know whose piece I read the other day. I apologize. But anyway, it was a piece about being and Josh Alan and whole schmear in the history of that. And they talked about during his interview for the job with the Pakula's one of the things he laid out. Was getting a franchise quarterback and having a plan in place and being able to get to the point where you draft a franchise quarterback like everybody knows. You have to do that. If he doesn't when are the Patriots pick and 15 again? Don't think that, you know, I think they'll be at maybe around 500. Maybe a little bit better this coming season. Maybe they went nine games 10 games. They're not pick and in a spot in next year's quarterback draft is supposed to be okay. Right anyway. The point is They're in a spot where they can maybe get one of the five guys at 15, or do whatever they can to trade up in front of. Let's say, Denver at nine, right? That's the team. A lot of people are talking about if your New England You best get in front of the Broncos in the event. They take a quarterback at night. Okay? You might have to get in front of Carolina. Maybe Detroit, but okay, so they're giving up Ah, second round pick. Move in front of Denver. That's it. That's it. That's that's according to hang on, I think I just read this from Mike Reiss. Yes, Mike Reiss, ESPN dot com Patriots reporter Move from 15 to the 78 range. Detroit or Carolina would likely cost the Patriots their second round picks. I'm sorry. Second pick out a minimum 46 nothing. No mention of giving up a future one. Well, here's the thing, though, that the draft chart. This is important for the draft chart because, as you mentioned, it's in, it's in place, and it's how the teams start right. So if you are Denver or you are turning who we talking about here, Denver did. Carolina Day Detroit Detroit seven. Let's do Detroit here. Detroit you terrible. The charge says it costs a second. But you know, Carolina in Denver are right behind us. And they're willing. Think about what the Bears gave gave up to get one spot up to get Mr Biscuit. The reason that happened is because there was another team ready to jump in there for Mr Biscuit. Granted, didn't work out for the Bears, but Okay. I'm sorry. The draft charts out the window. The price is going to be higher on the draft chart because multiple teams want in on this spot. And if Justin Fields drops to seven in Detroit doesn't want to make that move. Then I would think that Denver thinks about moving up a couple spots. Carolina, New England, You have a bunch of teams that might want to jump into that spot where Detroit is so the draft value chart is a starting point. And then you build from there, So I think New England would definitely have to give up a future one to get to seven. Yes. And, you know, maybe in the case of Carolina I wonder how often it gets to this point, Carolina? Entered the season needing a quarterback now they need one a little less. They've got two years to play around with Sam Donald if they want so Let's say fields falls to eight to Carolina. The conversation in the war room can be all right. Well, do we take fields or mean New England's offering all this stuff? We could take all this stuff and give it a go with Donald and see about next year's quarterback class will have to one's right. We'll have the one that we've got New England's first We'll have this other capital. So I just think it all adds up to for New England. They have to get one. They have to get it done..

"We're asking you Brandon Beans, comments to the media yesterday change your thoughts on the approach the bills might take in the draft next week. We go to Tim in arcade who has been waiting patiently to him what he had for us here on one bills live yesterday and I get out of it. The past go up, just slightly toned down. President was there and what it would take to move up. And I was just one of you guys. How much would it take to move up to get a guy like Parsons? Then if he wasn't able to get Parsons I love Stephen Collins and Mark too. And I don't know he would be. It's in moving up it all he had to to get any of those guys. Yeah, Here's what you're looking at. If you're if you want to move up to Let's say you just want to move up to number 25 from 30. You have to give up 1/4 round pick to do that with a value chart. Which the bills don't have. So you you're right. So the bills would have to and even two thirds wouldn't even get two thirds would not even get in the ballpark. Thirds. You mean 252 fives? Yeah. Two fives. They would You know that 1 61 pick in the 1 74 pick wouldn't they'd laugh at you. So if you want to move up five spots you need to give him 1/4 round four that they door next year. And that's That you'd switch picks. You get the 25th pick they'd get your 30th pick you give them your fourth round pick with the Bills can't because they don't have one. And that one movie up five spots 1/4 round pick, So that's kind of where you're at it. The bills don't have 1/4 round pick that's kind of a valuable pick. You give a third round pick If you're willing to give up your third round pick from 30, you can get all the way to 20. 3 23 or 24. So if you trade your you better really love that guy. If you're doing trade your first in your third round pick this year to take a guy at 22 23 24. You. You better really liked it, and I hate to tell him but I would not even Dream about Michael Parsons because he's gonna be off the board in the top 15 picks, so he's not even going to come close to the bills getting a sniff of him. David Collins. While I think the chances better I think he's too much of an athletic anomaly toe last all the way to pick 30. Super instinctive player. Um, can rush off the edge. 65 to 60 runs a 469. I mean, It's just He's an athletic anomaly, and those guys do not last two pick 30 and draft so it's gonna be hard bills. Fans are not used to this. They're not used to waiting through all hours of the night for the bills to pick this late in the draft, but If there's a good reason why they're picking this late, they're a good football team. You just gotta have to be more patient than you're used to being because they're not picking a 10, 12 or 15 anymore. It is just so expensive. And it cost you so much draft capital to move up. Even you can't even get into the bills won't even be able to get into the top 20 this year. Unless they have a player they're willing to part with, which is a possibility. You could see what about did you know you throw in a guy like Isaiah Hodgins or even Isiah Mackenzie? Or one of these other guys would probably be a regatta rookie contract like Isaiah Hodgins. From last year or even a guy like Tommy Sweeney, who we've heard is going to be healthy and all that I give it a big tight end and a wide receiver, those kind of players on their rookie deals, you could say OK. Will put will throw these two guys in with a pick. But that's what you're talking about the bills having to do because they do not have the draft capital to get anywhere into or near the top. 20. They just can't do it. They don't sell. It'll take a lot. They don't have enough picks this year talking future draft choices to get up there and high don't think they do hire future draft choices, So it's really impossible. So you know, you can say what you want about Kyle pits and And you know, Simmons and or whatever all these guys You're just not gonna be able to jump that high to get him But take heart. You're drafting 30 because you got a really good roster, and it's gonna be hard for these guys to make the club and anybody you get that's a contributor at 30 is gonna be gravy to me. So at least has to me. Um, but they're gonna you know, they're gonna be searching. They're gonna get other player. No question about it. A couple of they're pretty good. At least three really good players out of this draft of the top. And the rest of them will be maybe you know when they get to the fifth to fifth round picks in the sixth round pick If they get any contributions from those three picks this year gravy it is absolutely a cherry on the cake of the draft for one team to another team in North China. Wanda, What do you have for us? You're on one bills live. Pretty much anything you've been talking about. I don't think they're gonna move up in the first more than a couple slots at the very most. But I think the second is open if they include a pic from next year, possibly a second to get to the top of this year sex Value is somewhere around 30 to 38. And I think maybe it's worth going after it. He's going to get your perspective on that. You mean from you get a second wants to move up in round two to between 35 38. Oh, I got you from where they are at 61. Now that is another giant leap. I mean that I know it's round two, and the cost isn't a steep, but it's still pretty sizable, um It's not an easy move. And you better really love that guy. If you're going up that far to do it, because you're probably mortgaging the rest of your draft this year, and it will, if not a decent pick next year to do it. It will cost you to mid round picks next year, Right in the meat of the rain before you wish you had. To force you. She had two fours instead of two fives of this year. I would be an enormous difference in talent wise. Forget about trading in and out of it. This draft has got some guys who didn't gonna go between 23 and four rounds of this draft. So I'm with you if you could trade out of the 30 spot. Get a 38 spot..

"Think Urban's really well set up for that. Bringing in guys like Darryl Bevel on offense. Brian Schottenheimer is the past game coordinator. This is a lot of mind that I've worked with a lot of young players and had a lot of success, and you know, in urban everywhere he's been he's won. I know we all remember that he wanted Ohio State that he wanted Florida but he wanted bowling green, and he wanted Utah in a way that those two programs have number one cent. So I just feel like it can work there and with Trevor and cap space and picks and all that, Um, I don't know I'm about somebody's excited for this opportunity is one of the guys I've worked with you is, you know, a first round pick, but he's excited for this opportunity is I've been about about anybody's Palmer, My guest woman thought about that he he did throw on Friday, but he's gonna need surgery on that left shoulder for those who do not know what does the surgery address? And how does that impact the way you work with him in the coming months? Well, you know the whole value and bumping the pro day up was so that he can go ahead and have surgery now, so e think it's and I'm not. This is not my world, but I think it's about a two month deal. Um it's a very standard procedure. I mean, the kind of deal with the surgeon who does it did three more this morning, right before you, you know. And, um So it's a very standard deal. It's got a great plan from physical therapy standpoint, we're so the guy named Drew Drew Marcos that motives who's probably the best physical therapist in the country will be doing all that and So it's really not a big deal. He just has to go through and follow the guidelines. We shall do and he'll be back back, throwing here in a couple months, and he'll be ready well before the season starts and have plenty of timeto. To get his body and everything under control and where he wants it to be for the start of the season. We're talking Jordan Palmer. Sure. What about Josh Allen? He had a breakout year this year as somebody who has worked with him in the past and on a personal level. What was it like to see him take such an enormous step forward this year. Well, I mean, I've got used to work with a lot of guys and you know you put yourself into him. You hope for the best and to be honest with you challenge me to watch him take that step this early. Um, I mean, I kind of every week continued to be blown away, even though I'm pulling for him, and I believe that it could happen, but still to see it on Big games, too. It's not like you beat up on the bad teams and struggled first, the good ones. You beat up on everybody and I just that you could kind of see all the pieces when if you're around him, he's funny. He's as funny of a quarterback as we have in this league and as much fun to hang out with as we have any quarterback in this league But also the greatness that he sees in himself the confidence It was just cool to see all those things come together on top of, you know, mechanically and accuracy and Just goes to show you if you go to an organization and what Brandon being the general manager's done there. On Brian Table on offense, and Ken Dorsey, his quarterback coach. It's the sum of all these parts and, yeah, we can talk about Stefan digs, but the reality is that they were really good last year, too, and they just continued to build around this young player. On support him in a way where I actually think you know, we look at Kansas City and we look at some of these. These teams that have laid out the blueprint for how toe You know, drafted, build around quarterback and Brandon Bean and Sean McDermott in the pool, a family. I think they've kind of reset the bar in terms of what is building around a young quarterback supposed to look like I think it's supposed to look like what? They just didn't Buffalo Joran Palmer joining me for a couple of more moments. I gotta ask you to order. What do you make of how Tom Brady played in the Super Bowl and over the course of the season? Well, there's something kind of cool, but I'm seeing with my eye on Tom Brady. Right now. That's not really talked about. So this class football season. I've got a guy I work with. You just focuses on the biomechanics and the movement side of things and My right hand man with coaching quarterbacks, and they gave him a study. I said, Find me the top couple movers in the league meeting the guys who moved the most efficiently. No wasted movement. When they lean or cut or plant they don't get outside of their hips. Stay within their hips and, ironically, that the guys that we identified as the two best movers in the league or Cuyler Murray and Tom Brady, and how ironic is that? That's wild 5 11 and arguably the best athlete in the league at the position outside of maybe Lamar. Then the other guys 43 years old, and I don't know you could make the argument body wise you in the least the bottom. Couple athletes in the league of the position, but his what he's done with his team and Alex Guerrero and all these guys is he's just become one of the most efficient movers. And that's before we start talking about throwing in the mental side of the game and clutching all that stuff, So I just think that he hasn't just relied on his strength he's turned are arguably his biggest weakness. Into a strength that is such that I've identified him as one of the top two movers in the league, whatever that means, so he's just gotten more efficient. He's got and it looks like he's got more athletic, but he's just gotten more efficient. And then you find out afterwards you need surgery after the game. You're like man that's on top of the knee injury, So I just think it's fascinating. We have the timers time conversation, all that, but the reality is that he has continued to move better. Grow better and no better and and he finally got toe parrot together in a new spot with him, you know, in all Star team around him, and it couldn't have been looked like someone your deal to me. It looked like something that happened at the end of season have to deal with for a few so fascinating conversation right there once again former NFL quarterback founder of QB Summit This year's class would include Trevor Laurence Brady, White and also shame. Bushell, Jordan. Great job. I really appreciate you making time for the show as always, great to run you down Jordan. Thanks so much. Next room was great, really good. Tom Brady is one of the top to quote movers in the league. Even at that age, and the other one is Cuyler Murray. That's amazing. All right. Hope you enjoyed that. I got a lot of that. That's a great conversation. Always always always. Jordan Palmer. Former NFL quarterback and a consultant. Breaking it down. When we come back, we go back to back. I've got the head football coach at Vanderbilt, Clark Lee, and then I am open the rest of the way. Think about what you want to talk about. 1 806 368686..

"You know, it didn't affect his ball as much when he threw it. You know it affected with Mark Jackson a lot. I thought And you know, Biggs. To me, I'll says is right now, I think he's maybe the best acquisition The pills have had in 25 30 years. I mean, it's just unbelievable. Impact he's had on this team, and you know the way he runs routes. I mean, when he was with Minnesota, I looked at him is more of a deep threatened. He just made so many big catches to keep the you know the sticks moving last night, so I don't care who we play next week, man. This is an awesome feeling to be in his a bills fan. We haven't been here in a long time. And I'm just fired up because I think McDermott Brandon Bean of you know, like You said, the top of the show, man. L don't play any which way to win. And that's what a good team does, and it's it's surviving, adapt and just try to win it any way you can. So have a good night, but I'll talk to soon. Yeah, thanks, Dave. Really happy for the Bills. Mafia really happy for a long time Bills fans. I mean, that's a long time to go between playoff wins, and that is a die hard sports fan base in a city that does not have a ton of professional sports. Get in NHL team up there and they got the NFL team up there. And that's a team that during the course of the last 25 years, there was there was questions about the ownership and is the team going to move and and so they've had to endure a lot of there over the last 25 years. And I also feel like if I don't say nice things about the bills, Mafia they're gonna come find me and power bombing threw a flaming table. There's that so I e. I fully acknowledge that maybe part of me saying these nice things about you Bills. Mafia is for my own self preservation. But in all seriousness, really happy for the bills. I picked them to go to the Super Bowl before the playoffs, So I've got a rooting interest in the bills. I think they can go up to Kansas City or go over to Kansas City, which ever direction you're coming from with Buffalo go out to Kansas City. And beat the Chiefs now. You might be hosting the Browns of the Browns, able to pull off the upset today that game get started in just a little bit 855 to 1 to four, CBS. Let's Keep it going and go to Craig, Who's right here in my backyard in Houston. Craig, what's going on, man? Showing. How you doing? I'm okay. How you doing? I'm doing good. Listen, you kind of stole some of my Pender on your whenever he was talking about, you know? League sources. Yeah, I'm just wondering. Has to someone watching, never came out and said that he wants to be traded off this team. I haven't heard that all. It's been a speculation and everything else. In the media grabs it and all of a sudden he's going to Miami. And here's exactly what's happening with Adam Seffner and all of that stuff, and he just put out it's just not true. And then and then the Houston media gets written and they want to kick it up. And I know you've got a show to run. But anyway, I just son wants and is going nowhere out of Houston. They're not that they're not that bright over there. Over there off a Kirby. In the Texans office, but they ain't that stupid. Betrayed one of the most Energizing players in this league. You know? Yeah, far is ruining people's career, and we wasted his career with wasted. JJ. What career Listen, There's been a whole if Lamers that's never been to the Super Bowl is their careers ruined. I don't get that tape. I wish somebody could explain to me how Superstar Hall of Famers on a team for his career. And they never made it to the big game or whatever. Yeah, Let me let me jump in there. Craig, Here's the thing about And you're referring to Andre Johnson's tweet from this week where he was defending to Shawn Watson. And in the midst of doing that, he dropped the Senate's and they're saying the Texans have made a habit of wasting great players careers. And I think you know, Andre saying that publicly is kind of a big deal. You know, Andre and JJ I think we got him on an interview, like on a radio station or something like that. You asking that question like in Houston, they would probably slow play that a little bit. But Andre is obviously feeling the frustration that everybody is right now with the organization. I do think that Bit players like maybe that players like JJ Walker's JJ Watt with three defensive player of the years is a surefire Hall of Famer. But I could tell you, Andre Johnson right now is probably a fringe guy. He's he could go either way Hall of Fame Yes, Hall of Fame. No, like he's not a slam dunk. If he had played in more important games throughout his career. Then then, then, I think that might push him over the top. So I do think there's some of that going on. And I will say this to Shawn Watson plays a position. Where The Super Bowl you can get into the Hall of Fame is a quarterback without playing in the Super Bowl. Quarterbacks have done that. You know, Dan Marino went toe one didn't win any damn. Faust is a Hall of Famer never went to a Super Bowl. You know Philip Rivers? Is he a Hall of Famer? I think it's up for debate. But this we know that if you're merely pretty good, and I think that Sean wants is better than pretty good..
