The Makings of a Conservative Majority With Newt Gingrich

"This. I think social media is also helping us a lot where a lot of black and Hispanic voters otherwise would have been just kind of listening to propaganda radio or television, but they're exposed to new and exciting voices like Candace Owens or Brandon Tatum, where they're getting the other side of the story for the first time, maybe 20 or 30 years ago. It wouldn't have been as possible. And also, unfortunately, the dominance of Democrats destroying these cities. It's now 50 years, 60 years. They've had their turn, and there is that kind of narrative that is seeping in, such as look at Detroit before and after Democrat rule. I mean, in certain, you've seen those pictures where almost Nagasaki has done better post atomic bomb than Detroit under Democrat rule. And then finally, and I love your thoughts on this. I think Republicans are doing better at candidate selection and asking for the vote. It's almost like there's this new sense of confidence thanks to president Trump where we're going to go and ask for the vote, such candidates like Herschel Walker and others. What are your thoughts on all that? Well, I think first of all, I think you're right on and I think you put your finger on a very fascinating part of this. Kevin McCarthy set out in 2020 to recruit candidates and people thought the House Republicans would lose 25 seats. They gained 15. That's a swing of 40 from what the experts thought would happen. Well, the 15 they gained every single one of them was either a woman or a minority and in some cases, as with two Korean American women in Southern California, a woman and a minority. And McCarthy talks constantly about base broadening and he talks about this opportunity to expand the brand, not just to focus in a narrow way on the old base. All of this was made possible by two things. One was Trump's effectiveness in communicating and in delivering the fact is you look at the price of gasoline two 35, I think, when Trump left office, you look at the price of gasoline now, you look at the price of food when Trump left office, you look at the price of food now. You look at the border getting controlled under Trump. You look at the chaos and the border now. You look at the crime rate under Trump. And Trump, I think, by now, would have very aggressively gone after these George Soros elected district attorneys who are refusing to prosecute

Texas School Shooter Kills 14 Children, 1 Teacher

"Welcome ladies and gentlemen, you're listening to the officer Tatum show him your hose Brandon Tatum. I have some tragic news. I know that you probably heard about it, but there was a tragic shooting in you of all Texas, 15 dead 14 of them were children shot at a elementary school in a small town called Yuval di population about 15,000 people in 78% population and Hispanic and I saw the picture of the shooter and he looks like he's Hispanic. He looked deranged. He looks like he's a minister of society. How did nobody detect that he was nutty? Is beyond me. On his social media, I Instagram, he posted magazines, he posted rifles, he seems like he was a deranged young man. And before the shooting at the school, at the elementary school, which he did not attend, he was 18 years old, he murdered his grandmother. And after murdering his grandmother, he went to the school and shot as many kids as he could. Right now, it doesn't appear that there's a clear motive other than him being insane. And it's a very tragic situation in my condolences and prayers go out to the families that have lost their loved ones in such a tragic event.

"Larry elder, you ran for governor of California, I want you to walk us through that experience. You know, I feel like if you were the most qualified person, California would have been so blessed to have you to run that state to get that state back in order, but you received a lot of backlash. You know, from the haters from the leftists, Kyle, you were a black white supremacist or something of that nature. Can you explain to the audience just a little bit? What was your experience and will you be interested in running again for something a greater position? Well, I think a lot of voters now have voted for Morris Brandon. I think a lot of people now wish they voted for me because since then the crime has gone up, the homelessness has gotten worse. The rate at which people are leaving California has picked up the schools haven't gotten any better. So I think a whole lot of people now regret that they didn't vote for me.

What Is the State of Interracial Marriage?

"I was talking about this in my last segment and people, you know, people who have mixed emotions about this. So LeBron James, his son, took a white girl to prom, LeBron James took a white girl to the prom, but the thought process is that what do you think about interracial marriages? Do you think interracial marriages are something that is because of race or do you think it's because of culture? What's your thoughts Larry? I don't really put a whole lot of thought into it. I think people choose people based upon whether or not they feel compatible, whether or not they feel that they have the same kind of values they have. And today in our society, I don't think anybody cares. I'm in California and I make one in every 5 marriage in California is considered to be an interracial marriage. They are increasing. So I don't think anybody cares. Now the LeBron James was interesting to me because Brandon, when I look at some of the comments, many of them were vicious comments that came apparently from black people. Now, you don't know who wrote them, could be somebody sitting in their shorts. In their basement, welcome to blunt. So it's hard to say exactly who wrote what, but some of the stuff appeared to come from black people.

"Your Carl, I mean, it's so good to hear from you, man. I can't say nothing but great things about you, I watched the show right before I started and you were so graceful and welcome to me with open arms to the show and I'll tell you what man I really appreciated every single person that I talked to about you that listened to the show said you are such an amazing man and I'm glad to have you here and I wanted to talk to you about the condition of America and what does it mean moving forward for black people in America. Yeah, honestly, man, I got to tell you, America is in a place Brandon where I've written about this stuff and I've talked about it for over ten years and you write about this stuff you talk about it and I know you can imagine this too, but I don't think you can you never get to a point or at least I did where I didn't think that I'd see every scene that I spoke about in other spoke about coming to fruition, especially this quickly. I mean, not just for the black community but for Americans in general, we are in Dire Straits and I know we say this every election cycle, but I mean, from the bottom of my heart, I believe this is true that if we don't win this election cycle and if we don't win 2024 and I'm not just talking about with the Republican brand, I'm talking about with people that are going to go to Washington, D.C., people that are going to go to the state legislatures and straight up fight against evil if we don't win with those type of people. LeBron James' Son Drug on Socials for Prom Date

"I am going to say something crazy controversial and some people are going to be mad at me, but I don't care because Jesus is behind me, who can be against me. I know it's not cliches, but it's true. I don't really care what people think. Now, the survey was, I don't have the papers with me. I can't find them. You can look it up yourself. You should be verifying everything I say. Polls show that Americans believe that black people are probably the most racist people out of any other group in America. And I would imagine that hatred evilness and racism is a disease that plagues every single race. However, when you have an environment where one race has the opportunity or have the opportunity to be racist and nobody checks them, they begin to run rampant. Why do you come up with this saying Brandon? And why did you come up with this concept? Why are you citing these polls? Because I just saw something that I thought was the most racist thing I've ever seen coming from black folks. LeBron James, his son, went the prom, with a white girl. Now, any other rational person in America would say, who cares? I don't care. If the man liked the girl, then so be it. You'd rather be with somebody you liked than somebody that looked like you that you don't like. However, you go to the Instagram of a huge Instagram channel called a neighborhood. They call it black Instagram. It's where most of the black issues of America, of our time, they posted on there. They talk about it. A lot of it is degeneracy. However, they are criticizing LeBron James 18 year old son for taking his white girl to the prom. And I think that he looks magnificent. I think she's absolutely gorgeous. They look like a great couple. They look like they had a good time. However, I'll read some of the comments for you guys because people are just out of control. Now my wife wrote a comment and she got 82 likes, probably everybody that followed me saw my wife's comment and liked it 'cause all these black chicks on here are mad is I don't know what. Brandon Tatum: The Left Thrives off of Double Standards

"Some journalists named Wesley Lowry because I'm very interested in your perspective on the left's reaction to the buffalo massacre. Let's listen to journalist Wesley Lowry to Brian stelter over the weekend on CNN. Let's be clear. The stuff Tucker and Laura Ingraham say every night, it could be written by white supremacists very often. There is a section of this manifesto where the shooter starts talking about people always say diversity is strength. How is it strength? I could hear it in Tucker's voice. He says this all the time, right? But the Ben Shapiro's of the world say this is a big chunk about the idea of genetic differences that could have been pulled from an Andrew Sullivan column, right? There are plenty of people in our politics in our media who advance these ideas and advance them frequently. Oh, so it's Ben Shapiro's fault, or it's Andrew Sullivan's fault, or Laura Ingram's father, public enemy number one, Tucker Carlson's fault. Officer Tatum, they just can't help themselves, can they? Oh, these people are deranged and they're out of their minds and they live and they thrive off a double standards. It's quite ironic that they're willing to, you know, put the blame on Tucker Carlson and other conservatives who may have some ideas that are accurate that this guy plagiarized and used to the detriment of other people. But they're not out here talking about Illinois or any of these Democrats who are literally telling white people that they're the enemy of the world. They are really creating in my opinion these homegrown terrorists by spending most of their time making white people feel horrible about existing in this country, making white male Christian straight men feel like that they are the enemy of the people, make wealthy white men feel like they're destroying America every minute because they've accomplished the level of success. I think that more so, those individuals who are saying are creating this negative rhetoric create these deranged lunatics that go out and do this.

The Whitmer Kidnapping Defendant Who Was Trapped by the FBI

"The indefatigable Julie Kelly has tracked down one of the Whitmer kidnapping defendants. This is the guy who got off. He was exonerated because the jury realized that he had been entrapped by the FBI and Julie has an exclusive interview with this guy. His name is Brandon casar down. But and he's gone through a horrible two year ordeal. Involving losing his job involving incarceration. Of course, the familiar FBI raid, the kind of massive demonstration of power almost a shock and awe type of campaign. So Julie gives a little bit of background. She says that this fellow Brandon cassata was charged along with other defendants, 5 defendants, Adam Fox, Thai garden, Caleb Franks Barry Croft, and a guy named Daniel Harris. These are the people who were charged. Now, what the interview reveals is the sort of naivete of these guys and how they were targets of the FBI from the beginning. And by the beginning, I mean, before the plot was even hatched. That's what's so telling about it. So here's talking now to Julie. And he says, you know, I was kind of locked down under a COVID court. I was stuck in my apartment with most of my family out of state. I was just trying to find people to network with. So this is the COVID frustration and the anger, by the way, at the left and imposing these lockdowns, interestingly, that was a factor here in what got these guys to demonize Whitmer and think, oh yeah, it'd be kind of cool if we so these are big talkers, these are guys who buy and large have difficult lives with not a whole lot going on and they're looking for other like minded people who give them a sense of camaraderie. So what happens is this fellow brand in Casa goes online and in June, a leader of a group called the Wolverine Watchmen, a self styled kind of militia group, basically tells casar that they are inviting him to firearms training in Michigan. Firearm streams. This guy's like, yeah, in lockdown, I wanna get out of the house. Little does he know that this being organized by not a guy named quote big Dan. And guess who big Dan is? An FBI informant. He is in a sense cooking up the plot.

"I want to get back to the question that Michelle asked about the roe V wade issue. Let me just say this. You know, I would love to do more research and figure it out because it's very confusing to some degree. But it's not that serious. I think that people should not, first of all, the politicians are talking about roe V wade because they want to make this a political issue so they can win in the midterms. They don't get can care less about you cohan and your babies are dying or whatever case may be. They don't care nothing about the promiscuity. They don't care nothing about your heartache and pain, nothing about the regret after you do it. Women feeling lonely and depressed and all of the things that come with having abortions, they could care less. They want you to vote. They can care less about the people at the border. They don't care about them getting killed on the way over here dying again left in the desert by coyotes getting raped and all of the above. They couldn't care less, okay? They just want your vote. Roe V wade, I do not understand how a rational woman could be arguing about this at this point. Our irrational man could be arguing. Many of these states giving you up to 16 weeks of some crazy. I mean, I think 16 weeks is even way too much. They give you plenty of time because to be honest, a lot of people are arguing, what if you get raped or whatever can be? Well, if you ask me, I'm pretty sure you know what happened to you at least it within 24 hours of you having to go and get something done about it. And so there's no mystery. It's not like you get raped and you don't know you got raped for until you're pregnant. I don't know if that happening. Anybody that's involved in the incest, a medical issue is a completely different story and they always try to push this issue. Let me just say this. I heard Steven Crowder cities before. And I think it was a beautiful response. He said, if you talk to people who claim to be so involved in caring about the people who are raped or incest or whatever, ask them, less eliminate all of those people and allow them to have as many abortions as they can or whatever the case may be. What about the 99%? Can you agree that all of that is wrong? All in the papa gasket. The brains pop out in a pass out and they cry and they spit and roll around on the ground all day. Do you have any thoughts as to why it is why it is if BLM wants to make sure that the world knows Black Lives Matter, what are they doing to work on that issue? Well, let me just make this very clear. BLM has no, I don't think they have any obligation. They don't have any desire to do anything for black people. It is literally a fundraising organization that threatens people and coerced them into giving money and influence so that they can push a political agenda. They're not doing nothing for black people. Ask Officer Tatum: Does the Bible Call for Christians to Married?

"Love you guys. But the Bible says is best to not marry. You can serve God better, but if you can't control yourself then marry. Well, I don't interpret it that way. I could be wrong. I think that the Bible is illustrating that if it's going to be a distraction to you, it's better for you not to get married. If God has called you to do mission work overseas, and somehow you entering to a committed relationship with a woman that is not okay with you going overseas. And you will begin to have obligation of children. Can you further your mission that God has called you to do if marriage is going to prevent you from doing that, then you need to yield or not get married? However, the Bible does articulate the church and it compares that crisis to hit of the church and the fathers to hit the household. Every single person almost outside of Jesus. Well, how Jesus even got to this point is because men were involved in relationships with women in the lineage from David all the way down to the lineage of Jesus Christ, even Mary and Joseph were married in a relationship. So I think that God is instructing us to be married. It's the best opportunity for us to be successful to be to be married. "But Kathy, I like you. I've known you for, I don't know, 6, 7 years ever since you came on Fox with a national security moms. And so I've spoken about the latest attacks against you with somebody who served in the military in the reserves and knows these records. So I want to give you an opportunity in front of millions of people to answer these questions, put them to bed and then we'll see who wins this race. So in the records that you've released from your campaign yesterday in a book about you, there are questions as to officer candidacy school. What your MOS was two months of additional federal service that we don't know what it was for, whether you actually worked for the CID or were of VO a wheeled vehicle mechanics. I want to just give you the opportunity. Talk about your military record and clarify anything that you think needs clarification. Yeah, listen, my military records are right there in front of people now. Yesterday, let me just say, I've been running for 13 months. And only yesterday did mainstream media want to even talk to me. And I've been in a statistical tie for first place for at least four weeks, right? So for at least four weeks, I should have been on their radar, except they just wanted to talk about the two rich men and pretend there was no one else in this race. So the only people who have been derelict in their duty here has been mainstream media because I've been here for 13 months and at least in a statistical tie for first place for the last four weeks. But in regards to my military records, I served three years in the army reserves and I was assigned to the CID, the criminal investigation detachment. My MOS was 71 Lima when I came out as a administrative specialist three years there moved back to Alabama and third with the National

Why David Purdue Felt Compelled to Run for Governor or Georgia

"Now he wants to be the governor of Georgia and would like to have him on America first today. Senator David perdue. Welcome to the Salem network. Thank you, Sebastian. Straight to be on America first, man. Thank you. All right, so I just retweeted the tweet that's at the top of your Twitter account. It's a great campaign ad. Tell us right now how the campaign is doing and why serving in the Senate wasn't enough for you. Well, I was never a politician, Sebastian. I was like Donald Trump. I was a business guy for 40 years, but I saw under Barack Obama, the country was handing the wrong direction. And I ran for the Senate to try to help change the direction when Trump got elected. We were able to do just that, created the best economic turnaround in U.S. history. Now, the only reason I got in this go to race Sebastian is because our current governor, cave dean allowed the radical Democrats to steal these elections in Georgia and we lost a majority in the United States Senate and we see the Biden madness now. So I couldn't stand by and watch this guy who can not reunite the party after he is divided the party and win against Stacey Abrams. So I'm running right now to save our state and to make sure Stacey Abrams is never governor of

"Com. We are back with the newest member of the Salem factory faculty. He is officer Brandon Tatum, who will be taking over from Larry elder as a former Leo law enforcement officer, got to play this cut for you from outside justice Alito's home yesterday, play cut. My body. My body. My body. What do I want? So in Virginia law, it's actually a crime to disturb the peace of a private residence. In federal law, it is a crime to try to exert pressure on a judicial proceedings or to intimidate a judge. Nothing happened, even in Virginia, yes, Glenn youngkin, where are you? Nothing happened in D.C.. So as a former law enforcement officer, I got to get your reaction, Brandon. Yeah, it makes my blood boy watching these people act the way they do. It's okay to protest. It's okay to peaceably assemble. But when you are breaking the law, police officers need to hold you accountable. And the funny thing is, is that when this is an attack against a conservative, everybody's cool. They can walk the streets they can threaten people and everything else. When this is against a liberal, they

Inflation Under Joe Biden vs. Ronald Reagan

"So I thought to myself and I like to do this on my Fox show this weekend too that wouldn't it be really great Wouldn't it be terrific to just go back and take a look at history The last time we had an inflationary economic crisis what did Ronald Reagan do Because I have the numbers showing that Reagan turned it around quickly So I pulled up this article because Biden's blaming everyone Again he wants to hike taxes here This is an article from Chris Talbot It's from the hill It's from last year May of 2021 I say it's from last year because Jen Psaki just said Jim then we play it in the last hour Jen Psaki said nobody warned them about this inflation thing Nobody would have A bunch of dopes and people believe it Nobody warned you Here's may 13th What's today's date May 10th So this was almost exactly a year ago minus three days That a guy by the name of Chris talgo who I don't know but it's a very good piece wrote a piece in the hill anyone could have seen He said Biden should take a page out of Reagan's inflation killing playbook So when Ronald Reagan got into the Oval Office in 1980 he notes he inherited an economy struggling with runaway inflation In January of 1980 inflation was 13.9% So in other words under the Reagan years when he first got into office folks the inflation problem was even worse When Biden got into office inflation was running two to 3% Brandon there managed to make it make an explode to 8 and a half percent So when Reagan got into office inflation was 13.9% By April it increased the 14.8% This is what he inherited from Jimmy Carter Ronald Reagan Far worse almost double what Biden's got now

"At every time. You went to that restaurant taiwan that and then then you love one says hey listen. Let's go to that restaurant we used to go to. That's a compromising position compromising situation because it's going to put you in danger. It's gonna trigger these little things in your head called cravings and it's going to put you in a position of a danger so what a loved one should do is not put them in that situation. I mean eventually yes. You can go back to that the that restaurant eventually. Yes you can do everything that used to do but to be put in that position at the at the beginnings of your treatment at the beginnings of your recovery is is is so so dangerous and demoralizing. Because what happens is the wife. Can't i go where everybody else goes. Well why can't i go back to my favorite restaurant. I won't drink. Guess what that's not. What happens the lou. Little man inside of us goes they got you know Devil on one side and angel on the other little devil goes room while you what we could have like a near beer. You know by the way when they put alcohol free on on on the beater like oh duels. There is alcohol right it just below the legal limit but there is alcohol right so you know. We'll go we'll why can't i be like everyone else. Guess what you're not like everyone else. You have a brain disorder called addiction and you can't be like everyone else. It would be akin to a person with diabetes go. Why can't i cake like everyone else is on how to do it brandon. Exactly how want you wine like that. But i do go back to the moment where i was sitting at the table and i was really uncomfortable and nervous. Energy was just going and going at it. Couldn't stop like. I was just sitting there and i you know i wasn't tempted in drinking a beer but it was in the back of my brain if i went down this road. Maybe i could have a beer right. Well you know. Yeah and these are the things that we have to be critically in tune to. You know who knows brandon better than brandon knowing you know yourself you know what positions a good few positions that are bad for you so so you have to set ground rules. Ernie thanks so much brandon as usual. Thanks for having me. So i guess today we're gonna talk bout a relapse and that kind of stuff so let's start off with a question. What tends to be the behaviors for people that are before they go through relapse. Okay well the standard line is that relapse happens. Way before ingestion of the substance or that behavior so The of it is the actual ingestion of the substance or the behavior. But you'll see people's behavior start to change. You'll see the not acting the way they act in a normal sober way You'll see them cut back on meetings. You'll see them Not have the involvement. They used to have But it doesn't have to be twelve stepped base somebody indications are this sleeping alive. They're angry ally You know just behaviors that are counter intuitive to what they usually present as a clean and sober man or woman. So when you're talking about like behaviors like sleeping a lot. How how would you know that. Somebody just not naturally tired or or if they're actually added sleeping at six o'clock at naturally tired you know. Everyone needs a nap. Now dan you know maps good but on a consistent basis if somebody is missing appointments or Missing work just again normal things level or who knows the loved one as well as as as you do. No one does so you know what normal behavior is brandon. You abnormal behavior is so you know you start looking for little little indicators like that and again on jumped down the first conclusion like oh they slept in today must be using..

And you know it's bad enough to have addiction depression or if you have bipolar or any other of the addictions addictions but any other symptoms that go on with the disorder. It's so so important. It's more often not the emotional. The emotional things go on and because of the sprang chemistry and chemicals. We put in it lots of people. Lots of people have depression. And you know it. It's situational depression. It doesn't have to be clinical depression. You know situation you newly sober you still fighting with your mate. Your job is out is teetering. You know so you had these emotional problems that you have to deal with all the while you have to do with them sober so i see more of the mental health stuff now. I know you may be thinking. Oh you know. He's a carpenter. He's got a hammer everything. Looks like a nail follow that one But no i. I look at things Would would this. I open to anything. So i see these people coming in and i see that the problems at the having i am so so fortunate to not have any met while not having any menthols lamb kinda crazy. I think the the the the the testing that they do now and the open mindedness wasn't still is a stigma associated with mental disorders. It's bad enough that they're in attic. Now you tell me that we have. We have a mental health issues. I'm also a very very strong believer in psychotropic medications that deal with the depression and it doesn't have to be forever. It can be just a first. Year refers six months of of your recovery. But it's critically important to utilize the things that we've been handed these gifts you know. "As you know. He is a licensed clinical therapist for drug addiction in the state of florida. Welcome back thank you. Thank you so much for having me brandon. It's an honor thank you. There were a lot of people that actually were really happy and excited and they actually thought that you did a really good job. Explaining what addiction was. And and your take on you know and especially the story that you told last time that you were on so there was a lot of people wanting you to comeback. So here i am. I i guess the first question i would ask because i've actually been asked by a few people when you go out like as like as a recovering alcoholic as a drug addict and you go out with people that are going to dinner. And they're going to be around a bunch of people that obviously are addicts and they don't know how to act. What should you expect As as the alcoholic as the the person that's there like what would be the best solution. That's that's a great question that i'm acid myself in my practice as well. The the attic wants to have as much normalcy as possibly can so from their perspective they don't want inhibit the situation. They don't want a burden anybody but all the while in their head and thinking. Oh my god oh my god oh my god my god i got you know so from that standpoint is really nothing to do but just try to have it be as normal as possible now to flip side the family member. They're also going on my on my on my you know they're doing it quietly and the only thing it's really changed for a loved one of somebody who's trying to make this a recovery. The only thing that's really changed for them is the date somebody be working in themselves either through individual therapy or or or a group setting and the person the attic is working on themselves that trying to get better at trying to figure that way in this new world they have this drug and alcohol-free world and and you know what it is is people trying to interact and that interaction is so so difficult for both parties. The attic is working themselves and then a loved one just sees the date change. They don't see the the improvement that the attic will have even in short period of time so again normalcy. That's what i think that we're trying to shoot for on both parties part so like them. Drinking in front of you is okay. I mean it's up to the adequately to be around..

And you make amends to these people Making amends by the way is insane. I'm sorry it means to amend. We don't amended contract by saying you're sorry to contractor brandon you amend the contract by changing it's part of the twelve steps changes you Towards this ultimate goal is a maintenance part of it By doing a daily inventory in working with other addicts which is very gratifying of the twelve. Steps i really didn't do it any justice it's a lot more indepth but for the sake of expediency That was a condensed version of the steps with which the producer would be the hardest for you the one. I'm on no jovan. They say. I don't know who they are always hair being quoted. They say they say the first step is the hardest one. Because it's the one that you have to make a commitment and the first step reads that you're powerless over alcohol or your addiction. There's a dash and then you'll life had become unmanageable say unmanageable. I mean that you can't manage it left your devices. You being the attic. Not you being branded but you being the addict left ear devices. You have chosen things that have not helped. You left your devices. The guy who took me through the steps on as a he said estimate he said earning. If you have the courage to do this you'll be a changed man when you get any other side. I didn't believe him. I thought he was full of crap. But i decided i didn't have a better answer. I had tried everything else at the point. I'm gonna listen to him and the fact of the matter is brand of my life did change. I am not the same man that i am. At the beginning of those steps to the end of those steps and in many men through the steps and changed a number of their lives And it's remarkable to see that it really is. It's michael from a clinical standpoint with my job. But it's also remarkable for me to see that in my real life perspective I'm supposed to be in the trenches with addicts. I dunno it's like sounds hokey. But it's my calling in i. I wanna be anywhere else you know. I wish i would have started this. You know thirty forty fifty years ago. But i know i looked at all. Thank you brandon. Thank you when whenever you got clean. What was the How did you stay clean like once once. You actually got clean after the first step. How did you stay clean. Well i end. I had the remarkable fortune to be surrounded by some very spiritual man who said this to me. Sit down shut up. You don't know anything about getting cleaned. You know a lot about getting so you're anything about getting sober oiling. To do is get high at sounds rough but trying to picture. While i will try to picture me with hair..

"I made a promise to myself in the people. I work with as a substance abuse. Counselor my job is to do whatever every can to knock people off that line and people to aaron recovery. It's their job to knock people the line however they can and that brandon's my story. I got here that that's a man. I love the analogy. That you just made with the gun. Because that's that's it's so true. I mean people get so. I mean that's kind of what going back to the same thing. Repeating the same habits over and over and over again. That's exactly what it's like and when you're in it it's almost impossible to see outside of that peripheral view right. You're blind. You're blinded by the behavior. You blinded by The chemical working on your brain chemistry. You know you're a brain disorder to begin with addiction and substance working on the brain. It's it's like a chinese fire drill no offense to chinese firefighting but but but it's like slightest rather raise running around and go and like go to work and act normal just to hear an accountant. Yeah no problem. I got to cover it. It's crazy Well as far as like when since you brought up the twelve steps earlier what exactly like. What exactly is the twelve steps to you per se going forward to anybody. That's actually not familiar with the big book. Okay great question. Really really good and an important question. Twelve steps is a program that fashioned. It's nothing new. It's just that it's in a very specific order and it's a very poignant people who are battling addiction. You know all the while. I don't want to scare anybody but it is a it's a program that spiritual in nature and and i didn't say religious notice the word they use i said spiritual it spiritual in nature that helps you with the malady of addiction. Okay so you know you make man as you say what..

"Why now brennan where i grew up in brooklyn his how you handle a situation like that. I walked over to my daughter. My wife is the only other person room. And i whispered in my daughter's ear michelle. Please tell me the name of the young man who did this family can identify the body. Third quarter and i went outside and i looked up and said hi. This is going to be real interesting. 'cause i don't know about you but i never had a any sort of book manual as to what to do when you're seventeen year. Old goto tells us she's pregnant. I don't think all that are no. It was pretty devastating. I was outside. My wife came out and said what do you wanna do. I still well. Diane is two things we can do. We can go inside and say michelle. Mom mandate thinks. She made the biggest mistake. Your life package stuff go or we can say show. Mommy and daddy think he'd made the biggest mistake life. We love you. We want to be there for you. I think we should do it. A ladder so i went inside. I said michelle mommy and daddy. Things should made the biggest mistake alive. We love you want to be there for you. How pregnant at all you. you said. Seven months and she pulled his shirt tight and it was a bump now seven months brought brand and she's changed her style of clothes. She went from like really tight fitting close to. He's loose things. It was a fashion statement. I didn't know she hiding being pregnant as the sidebar. The next day we took my daughter to get prenatal care and they put the they put the little thing on a summit to figure out what the sex of the baby is. The nurse goes with elements to richardson within a look at whether we find a hotdog or a hot dog. Bun put that little thing on and hotdog band. so i have a beautiful granddaughter. who's eighteen. congratulations thank you. Thank you. And i have a grandson. But i'll one final thing. My son is one of us. When i say one of us. I mean somebody who is in recovery. Ever since he's a little kid. I saw tendencies so when he was sixteen he got arrested. He went to juvenile jail. It was it was terrible. Every other week we'd be going down to prison on. Southwest full hundred second street brandon southwest four hundred. Twenty second stras. I've never heard that. It's it's south of florida city. I mean you couldn't get any more advocates and my baby. My son was in a an institution with thirty foot. "Gotta ask this question but I'm I'm GONNA. Actually have a question about numbers. This. I want to. GET It out before I lose it you I'm getting younger so more are dead. Your rather recently. told the foul suppose it's as it relates to win Lebron play dead game against Michael Jordan picture that went up. So back in my. Room editor. Everybody was talking about it very fascinated because we did bulk when it happened. When your rubber later defense on the Bra on Kobe, on Michael Truth had the distinction having laid defense on all three of those guys. Where you feel your brother had made the biggest adjustment guarding sub one Lebron James's size because he's built potato just like metal piece. On. I think. That's that's a good. That's a great question. Braun by Lebron gave his. Brian just wanted to take the same amount of shops. Lebron's WANNA get thirty Ron one, hundred, twenty, eight shots. You're GonNa Shoot Twelve or twenty eight or whatever like that or nine for twenty eight or something like that. You know I mean it was it was definitely different with Lebron you know God and coby Kobe's. Kobe. Kobe to the fire you know what I'm saying. So He's WanNa Bang back which you Kobe underrated strength. You know. So you know copious go footwork and everything he used to run a lot of problems obviously you know that you know and Michael. Jordan Michael Jordan. You know he footwork Ryan to you know Like he uses he was very intellectual getting success against Ron and everything. You know Ryan to try to bully and you know be stronger than everybody and so but you know I'm surprised you didn't mention Brandon Roy Brandon Roy was like you know. The. Toughest One d tough is one you know and my pain Rosza Pain Ron never spoke against anybody in his entire life that you know of anybody got the best of them. Wrong. But I I I had a bad night or whatever. You know what I'm saying he actually went on TNT went on Craig's L. Recipes interviewed him and wrong gave him an endorsement. I think I think Brennan. Roy was the first person to actually have forty points on Ron. You know all I think that we was the first one and and like you know it really had run like. Really had to focus up. You know what I'm saying. So they go they lost the series and it could have been wrongfoot foot because you know Brandon Roy was getting a lot of success and stuff the way he play you know I was surprised that you didn't mention him but we're Lebron like The branches is he just so skills so strong so fast and so is like you know he's he's is he's three and one you know. So it is definitely kind of tough grind usually had to you try to bully and stuff like that earlier in his Lebron Career Ron was able to do that but as Lebron against stronger Grozny older and stuff at the same time. So you know. I just wish they would have both at the same time at came up together out an interesting defenses assignment you know 'cause like. These defendants today are not shutdown defenders just they just put a hand face in whatever you know but ron was able to to to lock you up Khoja down underneath your average and stuff like that. That's why we're saying like you know you know, Kawhi, Leonard Five defenders of one of the best defenders of all time. Remember they did a top ten defenders Listen Brown, was on and I'm like how I'm like Ron actually shut down all these scores back basketball and I know they left Bruce Bowen and not left. Shame. Not. Left out Gerald. Wilkins. Yeah. Yeah. And I think Ron's Bryant at the wrong reputation heard it hurt his career. He wasn't been away mornings I think he was only like six or things. I think that you know the actually you know hurt his career. So it looks it looks different the players know. The respect. Is there. In follow today's how did go from getting. Ill By coby to his teammate the following season because Ryan Kobe go back since like nineteen ninety-four not during the a you days you know we. got. Yeah, you know. So you know played high school basketball Gosh God by the way. They played in the same the same high school team together at Lasalle Academy. So you know Ron was on the scene where called aim high is actually Kenny. Smith's a you program and on Ron was young freshman on the on the team and he was his India to defend Kobe and stuff I know run always say to story I. Think he said the story before Kobe on back in the day when the best dance Bush Shou period was out in run interview Kobe and so wrong with like you came off the bench. I, came at the mid would just getting fifty I think Ron was his deuce up for the TV because that actually did not happen. Way What Yet, because we have Ryan Bronx Gronk set himself but I think Ron was frightened for the TV because that actually did not happen. You Know Kokin give fifty who ron came off the bench whatever Rao actually own gave him a tough time that's actually wanted to that was one of the Games where Ron started gains is getting is on him for my you know college coaches and everything it was one of those games that was one of them himself so. You know on. Hemmitt Kobe go way back and they had great competition for years and you know. You know, of course, they had the almost fight, but there wasn't gonNA. Fight Cobra spectrum when you get in his face you know Kobe Kobe like any other good basketball player..

"He owns out. Don't worry if you didn't catch any of that. Lake will be into description. Radio with Brandon Robinson skokie radio. down. In a teams components will. Be The Philadelphia Seventy sixers earlier this week. He expressed else. That he's. He almost decided not to play on. Certain. He doesn't know what to expect. If you pay attention to the news cycle the other day, he showed up to Orlando I would have a whole body suit on. Nasty gloves and all. You know they're depends on who you asked. MEA, there are some players who have expressed to me on that they are. They can't wait the play. No others are. On the fence and some of the players have. Made mention to the fact that they don't like the food in the bubble, but I think that's the least of their worries the. A product on the floor because they don't play. And they don't fulfill seventy games the. NBA will lose two billion dollars. I think from Lebron James. I'd be pretty motivated. I noticed a family guy the other day. When he flew out to Orlando, there's going to be missing his family for some time and I think that's something that's very understated. Some of these guys on married and have families, and they got a lead their families for three to four months while their beer diets while their husbands. Bubble so from the Brian James. Heavy is the head the crowd that you wear. It's got a lot of things considered a you know hopefully in the Lakers. Misstate Safin while they compete in the talks over. You bring a toughie. "brandon" Discussed on Digital Leadership with Brandon Cox

"Off. Hello, welcome to digital leadership with Brandon Cox. This is a podcast where I share some perspective and some encouragement on life leadership and digital marketing. So if you fall into any of those three categories, you're alive, you're a leader or your into digital marketing. And hopefully, if your leader you want to learn about digital marketing, then I think you're gonna enjoy this and get some things out of it. Hope you'll subscribe and pass it along and share it with other people in this inaugural episode as I kind of launched this podcast. I wanna lay a bit of a foundation for the coming weeks. I wanna talk about some things that are killing leadership is really the burden out of which the reason why I'm launching this podcast to begin with is because I I want to speak into the lives of leaders. I believe that leaders are suffering that more than ever before were watching as people of. Influence people who influence their their world or community their church for good are struggling they're failing. They're falling. They're going through hard times, and and quitting and checking out and get knocked out and getting fired and just all kinds of things occurring around us in the leadership world. And I think there's some things that are killing us some some enemies some tactics. Some traps some threats that we need to be aware of and I want to cover those over the next few weeks. I wanna talk about six in particular wanna start off today by talking about a lack of identity, and how that affects us as leaders. Also wanna talk over the coming weeks about burn out about mental health issues about sin and spiritual lethargy and how to get your passion back. I wanna talk about marriage and relationship issues in the life of the leader. And I wanna talk about some limiting beliefs. But I wanna start off today by talking about the issue of identity. How is it that you? You as a leader come to know who you are zig Ziglar guy that I've come to appreciate a lot in the last few years once said and often said that you gotta be before you can do. And you gotta do before you can have what he meant. Was we often define ourselves. We decide whether we're successful not based on what we have. I have possessions. I have prestige have power have a position and the problem with that is you can't have until you do until you do certain things you do something for a living. You take some action. But you shouldn't do until you be until you know, who you are at your core until your identity issue is settled because when your identity issues settled, then you know, what to do. And then you will have the right things a love what zig said, I think he's spot on. Then I wanna just follow that train of thought for a minute and talk about what I think are some wrong. Sources of identity. Annual reports of the largest and fastest growing churches and so forth. And if you don't have a strong sense of identity all that can affect you. By comparison, you start to start to kind of compare your blooper reel to everybody else's highlight reel social media doesn't help. But you know, it's not the problem either. It's it's an identity issue. I think we also route our identity sometimes in our achievements and the danger in that is when my achievements don't stack up enough. I feel a loss of identity or when I walked through failure. I forget who I am. And I m I really am. I really right about this. You know, if all of my achievements, are what prop up my Dimity. I think I'm in trouble. My mom used to work for guy that had what he called an ego wall in his office. And it was a wall that had all of his degrees and certificates and and awards and letters from famous people and all that kind of thing had had it their article. That were written about him because he'd worked on some high profile cases and whatnot. And so whenever he would get down. He look at that wall. And it would remind him of all of his accomplishments. The problem is sometimes what we accomplish we don't necessarily have a lot of visual recognition of, you know, not a lot of certificates and awards for the things that matter the most. And so it's not just it's not just chievements. It's not just comparison. It is it is more than that. I think another source of identity that is unhealthy and wrong. Is that we often identifier selves, according to a tribe. According to the camp that we fall in another words, there's a group guys out there group of fellow peers colleagues, and they all tend to believe certain things, they all tend to say certain things behave in a certain way. And we get worried that if I don't believe or behave or talk. In the same way, as they do if I don't criticize the same people as they do I won't fit in anymore and tribalism is a terrible source of identity because what if the whole tribe is wrong. What if you need to break apart on an issue, you need to have a strong enough identity to go at the end of the day? Their approval is not what drives me so a speech super careful with those false
