"No mining the past for satisfaction. There's no regret. There's nothing I didn't get to do. There's nothing I resent them for preventing me from getting to do or see or and it's like, not that you would, but I just feel really resolved and happy about like, well, this is what this part of my life is for now is this. Oh, I told you. I love, yeah, I love that you guys are thinking about it right now. And I think probably 40s better than 30, honestly. I hate the term geriatric pregnancy. You don't let that scare you. It's so so serious. I know. I know, well, that's funny. I think that that is that has sort of ended up being true is that I'm at this place in my life where like, you know, I already moved to, I already moved out of the center of the city during the pandemic. I already like have a dog. I already have a, I mean, I'm already here. I already really did rockstar version of life, like really did it. Yeah. And it's funny when it's funny that anything can become boring. Like something that people are like, how wouldn't exciting thing, but it's just like, no, anything can become boring if you do it enough times, you know, like, and so for me, it does feel like the exciting thing on my horizon is like, yeah, getting to do this thing that I never thought would be able to do. Yeah, I'm excited for you too. And if you decide to go through with the process you guys and you want to talk it over with another queer couple, that's your age and went through a unique experience you can call us any time. And specifically, if you want to talk about the body stuff, call calf, you'll probably have a lot a lot in common about it actually. Oh my God, yes, taking you up on this. Yes. That's what we have to do for each other because the world has not done that for us. No, it's true. So I want to ask one more question about this because we're almost at the end of our time. So do you feel like that that has changed over the life of your kids? Do you feel like the not having their road ahead of you? Is that less now or is that still the same? Beyond having the kids raising the kids, do you still feel like that is where people we don't have a path? Good question. I haven't thought about that because now I actually do feel like I have a peer community, even the ones that aren't queer. I do feel like heterosexual people can't fathom the process of gestation and conceiving and childbirth. And then even that first couple of years with all the complications, hormones and breastfeeding and roles being established that you don't necessarily want to establish or whatever the case, that's not something that heterosexual people can relate to. And in those times, you feel really alone. But now, kids choose their favorite parents not based on gender, but other things and it comes and goes, the changes like the youngest has been in a mommy. I'm mama and the youngest has been in a mommy phase for like 6 months. It's been driving me crazy in this morning. She wakes up and she goes, mama. Can I have the snuggle spot with you this morning? And I was like, yes, I'm getting her back. But so now I can really relate to my straight friends that have kids and stuff like that. And I feel way less isolated. So raising kids at this point is, for me, really just a humorous. And relaxing. But still daunting process. While Brandi, that is, that is so interesting. And it makes a lot of sense to me. I can't tell you how happy I am that we were able to talk again. Me too. I feel like it should be a regular thing at this point. Now what you just get to decide to be friends. We don't have to do it on a podcast. But I'm serious. I'm going to hold you to it. No, I'm interested. I'm interested. I'm in. I'm in. Good. Don't worry, I'm in. I'm sorry, I can come on a little strong. No, that giggle was excitement. Okay, good. Yeah. I'm just, I just feel like it also was really cool. This is, you know, you don't get a chance to say this kind of thing to somebody, but because we talked before and I got to put it out in the world, you know, it's so cool to hear. Just how much you've meant to people and how the responses were so strong and awesome. And I mean, of course, I already knew that, but you don't usually get somebody else's fan mail. We don't get a chance to see that. And it was really cool. Oh, you got people were reaching out to you about our team. You get messages and stuff. They're really excited about this one and just really good to hear from this person and I think I was like driving, where was that Katie and I were driving?.

"Out but you look beautiful thank you. i'm actually. This is like my. I'm practicing not wearing face makeup because you don't have face makeup on right now. I mean you can see if i get closer. You'll see that that's in fact accurate. Curry's i can't see any way but you'd look great. Your glasses are not doing their job. But thank you favor. Say that i. I've gotten like addicted to wearing makeup on a daily basis whereas like in my early twenties i would do it on a special occasion and now i'm like i don't like my i just need to work on my skin and like letting it breathe and just trusting. I'm enough without a tunnel maker. Barn that make sense. You asked me how he's doing. This is a makeup that yeah what make his gotten crazy. It's not like normal makeup. It's like three layers of contour and like eighty five different powders and then you have to let it bake i. I'm exhausted with it. Like my friend drew on a completely different knows for me other day and i saw myself on tv. And i was like who the fuck is that and yeah was definitely not me but i feel you on that like i feel like it's a lot. We kind of need to get back to black against ciller lip gloss meow mascara. Maybe i feel like there's some people that are doing that and it looks really. I feel like you can see a person's natural glow when they don't have a ton of cake on their face. And i wanna get back to the simplicity of it. Also i- jealous because i don't know how to do all the crazy artistic things that everyone seems to be doing where they like drip it on their face and then they're like crazy. Cat is with colors. Like i don't i don't i don't know what that's like had to do that so maybe i tried. I watched all those videos. And i still like i. Just come out looking a mess. So i just you know what i know what i can do. I have one hairdo or have one makeup. Sam say the most hit. Do i could talk to. You is switched my lip color. That's all i have in my repertoire. But let's get now. I was talking about vine with my fourteen year old yesterday about like okay so obviously tick talk. Is this crazy phenomenon. I'm too old to understand and you fully get but wasn't vying the same thing. It was the same thing in that. There was a bunch of users with followers and people would make funny videos. It's not the same thing in the sense that vine was only six seconds whereas tick talk now. At this point you can do three minutes but you can do as long as you want. The i don't know if that's called. The the dimensions are full screen. Rather than just a box vine would loop and that was kind of part of the comedy and it was really only a place for comedy space and there is like fifty to one hundred big craters. The rest of the people were just viewers. It was easy to make bias. It hasn't been around for five years. I mean the apps so dead. Thank god for talk time. Have it on my phone. It doesn't mean working as a comedian. And all right i won't. I don't know how to work my phone anyway. But so you studied at groundlings and second city like like every great comedienne is. That's kind of their whenever anyone anyone's good at what they do as comedian. That's where they've gone. So how did you decide. I know you've done stand up on whatnot but how did you say. Hey i'm just going to get into these videos just as like a fun thing to do or did you actually think that i'm gonna make some money jam. Hell no i did. Not this was in two thousand thirteen so being an influence in making videos making money was not in the realm of possibility. Then at all. Like 'cause there was barely instagram. And it was just like it was back when those those just like a photo on it was a grainy and so influencing was not really saying i think people were you tubing maybe making money but that might traditional was. I thought okay. I'll do comedy. I'll do standup improv. And maybe maybe book a show guest star build my resume and hopefully one day that make it and the next jim carrier whatever it is a female but having understand it for that hours i would. I'm on my way. No matter. I'm so i am. Let's forget it moved on vine app just having fun. I was just making videos. I didn't think anyone would see it. I didn't think getting a following was going to be part of my plan. It had i known. I was going to get a following. Probably actually would have been way more particular about what. I put out there because what i was putting out there was no one. That's or did you put anything really. But did you put anything like this climate today that you would be like fuck. That was a video that i made. That is super insensitive which i actually like insensitive videos personally like other. It's hard to make me laugh now that there's so many parameters to what we can say so like oh would have been funny if they actually went there on any of those coming up to by cont you or did you sure. Stay away from. Yeah i mean. I might humor so goofy and very Age friendly. that's why i work with a lot of brands because they're like oh. Let's work with managed. She doesn't cuss. she's not too dirty not very controversial. So mike comedies. Really like again jim Like very goofy is very physical and faces and energies in rhythms. And sometimes i'll say something funny funny impression. So i feel like i've been in the safe zone for a long time The one thing i will say is what i put out. There was a lot of me making ugly faces out any makeup with a really bad angle. Because i didn't think so. That's what i mean like more my vanity would have been okay. Let me brush my hair since a million people are gonna see this. You know what i mean. And so there's that part of it yet again you're kind of make. Yeah poking fun at yourself a little bit like always that way. No one could get mad because you re relatable. Yeah you're not relatable because you're very pretty. I you know what i mean. It's one thing you can do is make fun of yourself like that is definitely very safe. No one can get mad at me for that. And i will send you photos of me back in the day and you'll go okay. Take back what i said about the i am wearing right now. i'm wearing. I just not like yeah a little. We all have a little. I mean i'm wearing. I had to put some cover up on my zits. 'cause my children have given them to me over the past few days does it. Not the make up dumb but beat but being so like i'll say pg fourteen used to be pg thirteen i don't understand pg fourteen but being ju- feel the pressure like do feel like sometimes you wanna bust out or you're like i don't want covergirl to say no more. I want the browns to stay with me. You know or do you feel like maybe it's time to get into step into another box. i've stepped into some boxes with some creators that are controversial and that crossed the line. And it's terrifying. Because i then i'm going. Oh god everyone's gonna think. I politically this way or that way and i don't want to anybody but in my own life i'm probably a lot more offensive but it's in private and no one can take anything. I say at a context. Because no one's around. And i know that the people i'm with trust that i'm a loving human that means well and right on alert. Funny yeah and it sucks that. That's not as free to do today. It's really really unfortunate. I remember in two thousand sixteen. I put out a video that ended up having seventy seven million views on facebook. And it's a formative video of me in the cars dancing to young twins and i lip sync the whole song Because that's what. I do not fifteen. I was like. Oh this'll be a funny video. You just you just be my friend. And i'll i'll play a song and then i'll get way too into it and and you just react and then we shot it in.

"Because i you know how hard time better only had barbecued ribs yesterday. Did you have anything like on the side just ribs. But that's the only thing you ate the whole day. Yes because i'm trying this thing. I don't eat until twelve and then i can't i can eat now yes on hungry. I know. I think i heard your stomach. Yeah it was rallying generally. Don't eat breakfast anyway. I don't either but then you can eat what you want until eight and then you don't eat or drink anything after eight. That's what i'm trying to kid. Drink anything ryan and you're doing that. Yeah that'd be the hardest for me. Well what if what if you just start about earlier like eight. Oh one thing. I could do it. I went a minute to am last night now. You can't do it. I would read nine thirty. I was like just tired and thirty in and then i just looked like this groggy. Neither groggy because i only however groggy and foggy all right. let's do a haiku. Okay oh wait. I totally forgot. Thank you guys for getting audiobook. Now we had to go back and forth again. I'm so because it takes you back to that moment and it was like reliving the hell that i already went through. Thank you ryan. "But i can't take it all day every day you know. I obviously need to find a natural something natural that work. So i can drive my car to pick up my kids but yes i do i do. I did find the one that i was taking. It did make me hungry. And i think the whole you know a lot of these things aren't fda approved and then like there's so many things on the market like how did you go about finding the best quality ingredients for your own personal line. So the reason why i decided to get into the wild wild west of industry is because on my platform for a really long time. How shane is getting started was that i was always promoting in basically giving people products that i bet it in that had worked for me never did pay partnerships. Never did anything like that. I just wanted to share my knowledge on products. That i was a real stickler about because i'm like i hate greenwashing. I think marketing tactics bullshit. I think the fda needs a lot of help on what they regulate for for supplements and like things were allowed to in our bodies that gets a sane. That's a whole other topic. I can really get ranted on but so we'll see. Cbd you know when people were asking the common questions like what. Am i supposed to do from a holistic perspective. I don't wanna take anti-depressants xanax anymore. I'm have oth- in severe pain in amman. It pains supplements. And i don't wanna do that anymore. Like you know people. I've sleep issues like these. Are the three things that like cd. Be top most helpful things for so. I started to try and find a cd company that i thought was trustworthy enough and i at the time you know. Four years ago. When i started wanted to launch my company and i could not find one brand that i thought was transparent. That had quality was like nothing so i was like. Wow this is cb not only could help so many people at the plant medicine. But like i essentially. This is something that's really changed me. Help my life because of my. I have scoliosis Pinched nerve for years and anxiety issues with trying to go on television and do different appearances in like there's a lot of anxiety in that i'm as you know very well and so i started trying to find a manufacturer. I talked to like six hundred manufacturers. Not none of them. Not one could tell me that they had even went to wear their hemp was grown. Nor did they even really care about the polity. They're like oh it is organic. I'm like why because the farm tells you like. What do you mean right so i was like the only way i'm going to be able to know like this is a a wholeheartedly from start to finish high quality products. If i do this myself so i said to dive into it and sure enough. I was like i'm gonna have had far perfect. No idea where start. I guess i'm just going to like go with it and hope for the best and sure enough like manifestation at its strongest. i found farmers and became partners. And we're certified organic we. We use all Regenerative agriculture practices and were very much on board with trying to become a biter namic farm and like really keeping it batik. So we have our farm in vermont. I go for the planting. I go for the harvest. I love to spend time with the plants. And that's kind of how i created. Baldwin stone was. Because i wanted to be able to tell people that are relying on these things to get off their medications that you know this is a product. You can really trust because i know from soil to cede to race to win. It's extracted to when it's dried. Like i know everything because i oversee it all right so they can trust it and So that's that's how i so. That i think there are so many products out there and so many people just attached are named as like to anything. It's like okay. I'll i'll put my name on that. It is really smart of you to go. And obviously people trustee. Oh they know that your holistic and not you know what. I'm seeing what i'm saying. They trust in the fact that you're were going to be healthy with your body. You're not going to put something in your body that you don't trust them and then sell it to someone else. I'm exactly how so for bottle in stone ju- have more than one product. How is that going going great. So we actually launched april last year in the mid kobe which was very interesting and i make a decision on if that was what i wanted to do or hold off but i you know with the belief system of a have was. Everyone was living in the state of panic anxiety because of what was going on with kobe. Like i felt like you know at all. I mean i had every plan in the book of how to launch this and i had so many things set up with press. All just went like not happening and it was right. I'm be honest. It was very hard for a small business and it was really difficult for me to kind of swallow that because i was like works years this project and i was so happy that it was going to you know launch and then everything i plan was just kind of taken away from me and I have so started off with tinctures. So i have a six hundred and three hundred cinema natural flavor and then i have a mid spray. Which is one of pinscher. By the way. Because i'm not sure because there's one on my desk in there and mike wages this have thc. Because i don't want that. Just danger is just a style of the bottle so it means has a drop okay so yeah so if if if if it has in it they actually have to state the amount legally on it so we have less than zero point. Three percent teach see So you could drink this whole bobble in you will not get high That's the regulations for to be able to sell hand. We believe that keeping that small amount of the teach is is more beneficial than stripping away completely but we also have a. We're coming out with as you're teaching. Sure actually the beginning of next year just because people are a little bit paranoid with drug tests and Yeah which is fine. And then i launched my skin care line In this last april and so it still bottled and stone. Or is that another name your skin. And it's still bottling. Stone is just bottling skin-care And we came out. I was blending my own oils for my skin for years and Adding have been to. It was like one of my favorite things. Because of the inflammation that i have on my skin sometimes from acne or whatever it is and so i decided to formulate a face oil for.

Because there we go okay. Here's the thing. So i realized especially over the pandemic. You think that if you have money all your problems go away but the song running problems is really the truth. I mean it's i mean. I realize i don't meet yes. I did. Buy my sister something expensive yesterday. But i don't i spend much money. I spend money on groceries. And i don't need a lot. Unity mean like. I just even. If i had money i probably wouldn't be spending. I probably spend it on like not having to sit in coach. That is a big problem. You know what. I mean like just what i don't need diamonds. I'd never been that girl and eddie was so happy about that I don't need things. I don't i don't need that. You know. i do miss my ranger. But i had her for seven years and i brought her myself. But it's it doesn't it doesn't make you i just i just of course we all need money to lead like a roof over your head and food on the table but i just. I don't know i really over the pandemic. I realized like i could really get on very little. That being said you do have really nice new. Louis vuitton i seven. That's the first time i've been to a mall. Since i was so anxious it was not a good experience. I real- i don't need clothes. I have so many that. I just don't throw him a closer. Winning twelve hundred one hundred percent. You can make nice all right along. I was able to get one. I'm glad we were able to get one in nashville at like nashville clayton. I hope that do you think it helps clayton. But i do. I do think that money is the root of all evil. It really is yeah. It is because that's it it makes you causes briefings bike. Murder your spouse for your life insurance. I decided yesterday. I'm not getting life insurance because someone will kill me. I thought long and hard about that. I was just trying to understand why she has to pay it out of her pocket. And i guess it's i guess it's just because he's got no one more money now because her name is on the business. I keep saying that to you. She has her name on the paper on the llc part of the issue not the only person with her any money right. He spent everyone else's money right so i don't know what's going to happen. I don't know how i feel about. Although it's not really a matter doesn't matter. I i just to be going through that. "You drive a car. Go to cosco. Cut your law cook something on the grill. Just be a regular guy and to me. That's that's part of keeping balanced in separate yourself from the dark real that i'm involved with solve. I mean obviously you've done so much good work for all of us and we've all been washington for so long on with the the predator part and like me. How the young kids. I do you ever like you. I know that you can compartment lies. But you don't ever have a moment where you're just like you think of your own family or you feel like i just like when i watched like to capture predator predator it like i as a parent would murder. Somebody like i. If somebody hurt my child. I would actually kill them. And i don't know how people watch this on tv and don't feel like that's what they wanna do. I think that's a natural emotion is appearance in remember. I do this. Not only as a journalist is a television personality but but also as a parent in india does outrage you and you feel that inside of you but when you're in the mall when you're doing the investigation when you're face to face with these guys you typically don't have time until afterwards to really feel that emotion mostly randy when i'm doing this. I keeping an eye on their hands. I'm watching what's going on with their body language trying to figure out how i'm going to get this person to tell me what's going on in their mind. In what brought them to this position. I mean anybody can jump out from behind the curtains or behind the bush. Reagan create ten seconds of dramatic video. When i try to do is really understand how this guy got here and by getting inside the mind of a predator and hearing the voices of victims you can better protect other people from becoming victims. And that's part of what this is all out. Wow yeah i mean. I just i have so much respect for you. You continue this discovery. Show as well Tell us about that. So we have to series on discovery. Plus right now one is nissan in real life and the so nissan character is a sort of. I would guess. I would describe as the jeffrey epstein of youtube youtube better than a decade and we investigate how he has been able to abuse and groom and prey upon young female followers and hands and then bullied them in a most outrages in obnoxious ways. Real name is gregory. James jackson in in. So we have this series call. Oh nisha real life on discovery plus it lays bare. Not only what he has brought to. His predatory behavior is actions but also how youtube has allowed this to happen. And that's the big part of the story. Here brand is asked for so long. Youtube is allowed. Some of these content creators to operate in most foul obnoxious in itself ways criminal method in expose because lit series. There's no don't i mean they did. Finally we in this particular case. We bearish them. I think by taking what jackson was doing a nissan and putting it up against their terms of service. They're good touch bad touch video cartoon if you will in it so outrage people. So embarrassed youtube that they finally demonetized this guy and he's now under criminal investigation both by local authorities and by federal authorities for the a number of in in so we take viewers on this journey of discovery inside this world and expose him for what he is in. It was really to me a a mind bodily experience. I started looking into as part of my reporting on on my youtube channel. I have hanson and it extended into the world of television with the discovery plush route. Yeah i was. I was looking and right now. He's still a free man right like he has gotten order against us as you're harassing him or something. Yeah well that's you know it's think about some of these people. They have been afforded such opportunities because of their early entrance into the youtube world that they become very practiced at creating their own misinformation campaigns and they can go out and then attack their enemies which this guy has done over and over again not just me but his victims. He actually tried to twist his and claim that one of his victims actually raped sexually assaulted him and his partner spouse which is absolutely just the most outrageous among many outrageous things that he has claimed in defense of his whole. I mean thank. God you're pointing it out because this could gone on for forever. I mean the end. He has the platform. Andy has all. I think it would have young. I mean he's you know at one time millions and millions of followers. He's he's already created another Website where he you know spews this nonsense continues. His vitriolic Just attacks people and he is nothing but a bully and predator and and it's amazing and shocking that you to Allowed him for so long to do this. And we've looked at a number of these people who've exploited not only social media but have used their money for instance the other series. That's right now. Radio on discovery pluses call unseemly. The peter nygaard investigation a multi multimillionaire fashion who as it turns out Sexually assaulted thousands of women over five decades and we expose him in this series. That is also as i said discovery. Plus right now and he On the other side has been arrested. Federal charges of human trafficking sexual also in this particular case we are seeing some actual justice from the criminal justice system. He's being held without bail up in winnipeg where he has a home. But this this is a guy who had multiple homes as i said thousands of victims would explode women by offering them jobs in the fashion world and explain his wealth especially in the bahamas where he had entire estate by luring underage girls in for saxon dragging them impregnating them in continuing this activity to this bizarre plot according to investigators to actually harvest stem cells from the aborted fetuses of his victims to inject himself in this quest for Reviews is that that is a movie right there like that is actually is be yet no. That's what i'm saying like that. Like i watch that. People are so obsessed with youth. And then you get all of this other stuff. I'm all batman. You need to write that up. chris. Oh i it's it's it's either. We worked this for two years putting together for discovery. Plus it in the times when we thought our ever gonna get this together. Are we gonna be able to put the story of such a heavy lift to combine it. All it's so emotional to be in the room in interviewing some of his victims who bravely came forward to tell their stories for the for the production and again plus right. Now and sibley the peter night darkness gatien avenue rochester. On what kind of goals you run into when you're doing these kind of things so i feel like there's probably a lot of legal that you like. You have to get around. No well yeah. I mean you have to make sure that you have your facts together And pass.

Brandi Brimmer, Spelman College Black Union Widows and the Battle for Survivors Benefits in Post-Civil War America
"In college week black union widows had trouble claiming their benefits after the civil war. I'm dr lynn. Pascarella president of the association of american colleges and universities and today on the academic minute brandy brimmer associate professor in the department of history discusses their postwar battle after the american civil war. Newly freed black women made up one of the largest groups of union widows across the south yet their struggle for recognition by the federal pension bureau remains an understudy dimension of the war and its aftermath. My research analyzes the processes by which black women in eastern north carolina their views a citizenship in worthiness to the us pincher bureau their petitions for survivors benefits and the first person testimony of those who supported them painting vivid picture of their survival strategies free labor society in claiming the pensions to which they were in principle entitled. These women challenge the bureau's definition of union widowhood and expand the boundaries of us citizenship. The pension bureau distributed monetary resources to widows children and other dependent relatives of soldiers through a legal structure that required proof of marriage in evidence of war related that since marriages of enslaved people were neither authorized nor effectuation through legal routes. It was nearly impossible for formerly enslaved women to secure pension benefits federal lawmakers eventually address this problem through the supplementary pension act of july fourth eighteen sixty four which retroactively recognize the marriages formulates lay people within the pension system still a tedious and complicated application limited economic resources and competing definitions of what constituted. A legal marriage made security pension difficult. Maintaining they're standing on the pension roster could be just as intense scrutiny over how a widow earn wages notions of what constituted a proper family and sexual respectability became central points of contention at the end of the war. Freed women across the south said about filing petitions for survivors benefits with great frequency. They rested their claims on their contributions. To slavery's demise and their loved ones military service shining the light on their struggle for recognition underscores black women's legal acumen and understanding of the pension bureau as an arena of activism and redress. Changing Your Look After Coming Out
"Had heard from a listener. Who had come out in her thirties and was kind of wondering how she should change her style. Yes and also kind of dealing with friends feedback in changing of her style and we received such an amazing advice and thoughts from other listeners. That we wanted to share. We really did so. Here's our first email that were sharing today. I just finished mini episode one seventy eight and as a queer teenager. I felt that. I could provide some input here for the listener about their gay style. This year as come out as pan sexual unexplored my own style more. This is something i think about a lot. Recently i've changed so much of my wardrobe and found new things that make me comfortable in my look and my sexuality. What i've learned is that there are so many ways to be gay. You can really take any style and tweak it to express your identity and it doesn't have to be blatant for example. I've always had a darker edgier look and i've started wearing flannels with my goth. Clothes and makeup beans are also a nice touch that make everything a little bit gayer but not to gay also little rainbows are such an amazing and cute way to show your pride if none of these stereotypically gay items of clothing fit your taste. I have many friends who just like to dress and the colors that they feel express them instead of focusing on the items of clothing themselves. There's really no correct way to be queer and you can really and you really can make any item of clothing as as you want. True allies will support you no matter what you wear and no one should ever be pressured to dress in a way that they are uncomfortable with. Hopefully some of these suggestions help. Ps as a gen z. Are i must admit that. Cates use of the word ziesel her makes me cringe but of course i always appreciate the words. You guys make up as for trends. I think there's so much more acceptance of individuality in today's teens at the ones i know so whatever is considered popular online is really only. What a specific specific group of people are wearing regular life though. The controversy is always interesting and often hilarious to see Thank you teen listener. I loved us soak we. This was so such a great email to receive. I'm so honored. That teens are listening to this podcast. Oh the teens are so great. I think the teens are really great. Which terrifies me. Because i've always thought the teens were bad. Especially when i was a teen but i kinda think. Today's teens are awesome. Yeah i know it's really interesting. Yeah all right. You want to share this email diary. I would love to hike kantor. I wanted to write in response to the listener searching for her style. Post coming out coming out in my late twenty s i was so torn between looking to gay or two straight wanting to feel like my full self but also not wanting to seem like the stereotype who comes out and changes everything. It was helpful for me to consider. What stereotypically feminine elements of my style. Had i embraced. Because i truly like them. For example always having my nails done and other things had. I rejected. Because i was worried. Someone could suspect. I wasn't straight noticing what i had an impulse to like but held back from was usually an alert to that internalized homophobia rearing. Its head and usually was silly. I not buying fund metallic birkenstocks or not wanting to follow brandi carlile on instagram. I'm sorry to laugh. I'm laughing. Because i love brandi carlile and i. I love italian stocks. I did not realize that. Brandi carlile was Something that would lead someone to suspect that you weren't straight okay. So just like how. I tell the diet culture voice to get lost. So do i. Now try to tell the hetero normative voice in my head to shut up. Let me live when i find myself holding back from buying doing wearing listening liking something a helpful. A help fought narrative. Reframe for me. Was that many queer people have common interests were style just like many californians or new englanders or chefs have common interests or style. And none of those people aren't buying or wearing or doing something because it's to california or new england or sheffi so like what you like and if it gives people a clue that you're not straight so what it's not a secret and now you have a life more filled with things that feel good and bring you joy to boot as for the listeners. Friends my favorite way to kill those comments is a deadpan. That's weird or rude thing to say not creative that universally applicable

Chicago Tonight
Chicago school district cancels some in-person classes as labor dispute flares
"Person. Classes were canceled again today for chicago. Public school students who were attending in person. This as the battle over school reopening is being fought between the district. The teachers union prekindergarten and special education cluster. Students were given the option to come back to the classroom earlier. this month. looming over the standoff is the threat of another teacher strike as the two parties are over. Covert nineteen vaccination plans cleaning protocols and even which data in science should guide the reopening process. About an hour ago. I spoke with mayor lori. Lightfoot and schools chief janice jackson. I began by asking dr jackson. How close is the district to a deal with the teachers union. And what are the major sticking points right. Now as i've said this week we are trying our best to make progress. I think there's no reason why we can't have a deal in cr students back in the classroom on monday. I know so. Many students and parents have expressed our excited. They are about that opportunity. So that's what we're planning for a with regards to the union. I think some of the sticking points that we've been talking about or the past few weeks related to testy vaccination and accommodation still are outstanding on. But we're going to continue to work car because we know what's at stake in. That is making sure our kids get a quality education mayor or jackson at what point does either or one of you arrive at the bargaining table to close the deal. Well i think we've got to make more progress grants. I think it's important for your listeners. To know that since june we've met with the t to now over seventy times. It lasts two weeks every day including saturday and sunday. The schedule time is from eleven to five every day and we would have expected by now to make a lot more progress in the last week alone. We've given them to different on comprehensive plans one plan which we updated and we've given them. I think that covers every single issue. Eight different issues from ventilation testing to plans and protocols what happens if there is a a positive tested linked to schools. So we're serious and we're going to be made it table but we've got to see some progress it. We've got to see a series of purpose on the other side. For example today we got a proposal from the other side. Include things like defunding. The police and having the cpu dictate housing policy in the city. Now obviously neither of those things is appropriate for bargaining on teachers contract. So we need them to get serious to come to the table. We can get a deal done. I am confident that we can. We keep waiting and hoping that we're actually going to have some issues that we agree on the issues that we've been talking about now for weeks. We still don't have agreement on a single one of those issues and every other bargaining experience. I've been in both as mayor but also in my private sector life. You focus on an issue you resolve it and then you move onto the next issues. We haven't been able to do that with you. Which frankly to that by since there is no deal you know. Kindergarten through eighth grade did have the option of returning starting this monday. Do have the option Starting this monday to be back in the classroom but even a large group of aldermen have called on pushing that date back a week. Dr jackson is that something you'd consider to avert a strike and get a deal done in the interim. Yeah as i stated earlier this week we remain steadfast in the fact that schools should re-open for students on monday february first. So we're still there. We're committed to that date. I think that the district has gone above and beyond from a planning perspective as well as all of the planning that has been happening for local school level. We have proven let us not forget. School has been in session with ask three weeks with students in our cluster program in students in our pre k. program in we have been successful. We plan for various scenarios we to implement our plans with fidelity. We know that we can do that for our kindergarten. Eighth grade students nets. Will we intend to do starting this monday. Even if i can add brandis. Let's let's also know that we're we're talking about this in the context of case rates dropping acitivity rates dropping. All of the metrics that we follow. We've been following since march of last year or all trend in the right direction and to those automated said. Let's kick the can down the road and get more time seventy times that we've met multiple times over the last two weeks we can get a deal done on a purpose and putting our kids i at the table and they have that faye mayor's was just going to add. That said you know this was calling for teachers to be vaccinated more teachers to be vaccinated before a reopening. Why not what. What could happen if you just wait for that. We have a. We have a comprehensive plan for getting teachers vaccine which we've had on the table for quite some time. Obviously gotta do it in the context of the reality of the limited supply of vaccinations at all the other. Frontline workers who've actually been outlawed in the grocery store worker sanitation librarians. I mean the list goes on and on absolutely we want to prioritize. I'm teachers and we have a plan to do that but we need to get a deal done. We need some movement in

I understand that your son steven had something to do with you. Getting tuned into the dave cobb universe through the music of artists. He's worked with like chris stapleton and jason isabel and. Brandi carlile it. Could you tell us how that happened. Yeah well i mean just outside this room. Stephen came out a darby her. This and on his iphone it was chris stapleton and just blew me away so i thought wow. That's that's for me. You know as right up my street. And and if i'm gonna make anymore record that's the guy i want to work with and i said who is this guy called dave cobb and he's the probably the biggest producer. Ah in the world right now. i should okay. Sounds good to me. Let's find out he's interested in dave. What was it like getting that call. Like what was your reaction when you heard from berry and his people. I'm a massive. Bg's fan and their early records You know top ten albums for me and specifically to be i and it's something that i obsessed on for many many years. I mean that. I record particularly it has got to love somebody on it and holiday and turn of the century and these songs that to me. I love records at sound like. They're you can't imagine humans getting together and making them. They sound like they're made in remarks or something that was one of those records seminole records getting that call and getting to do. Should I Pay Off Debt Before Selling Stocks?
"So i'm twenty five due to a very fortunate situation i kinda got doubly lucky here and got some money from my parents and my grandfather and also got really lucky investing in some things. I didn't completely understand what that money like. You often say The tricky part about that now is the ninety. Five percent of my net worth is in stocks. And i only make fifty grand a year Getting ready to buy a house at my fiance. i'm just concerned about the capital. Gains tax hit to create a downtown for the house. Some thinking i've made my fair share of dumb decisions but this money being young obviously Got a big chevy tahoe. That you know. I don't think i necessarily deserve. But i just happened to like something and do i sell it number. One deduct free and create positive equity to maybe absorb that tax. It or keep the truck just because i enjoy it is the truck paid for twenty thousand muslim but Yeah i i'm either way. I'm not taking the car anymore. So i'm thinking bill situations neither reading it off and you're twenty five years old. You make fifty thousand twenty eight thousand dollar truck and you have how much in this investment account. Six hundred and fifty thousand dollars. Wow wow yeah you've got you've been blessed beyond measure he s and how much how much of that is gain that is over a year old Probably about seventy percent of it okay. So that'll be taxed at fifteen percent and it's in single stocks and from the way you're describing this it sounds like it's fairly high risk situation in my right Some of it is the i decided you know. I got scared of it pretty early. So i moved sixty percent of the into management. I would say the other. Forty percent is individual stocks around consumer data collection and medical diagnostic collection. Yeah yeah uber. High risk cutting edge small-cap technologies and. Yeah you're pretty much. Playing russian roulette with those things are the roulette wheel anyway So The way i answer questions. We answered questions on this show is what would we do if we woke up in your shoes. Yeah man first off. Thank goodness you're where you are. Congratulations that's wonderful. The danger is that it worked that you may try to do it again. That's that's the dangerous part. It's like the guy that drops one quarter into a slot machine wins and he spends the rest of his vacation but all his money in the slot machine. Try and do it again. because you're not going to do it again. I d i. I do not have investments of those types because They scare me and And my real estate portfolio alone is worth hundreds of millions. So i can speak with Emotional authority in this situation. How it feels. When i was your age i was a millionaire and lost everything. And i don't want you to fall into that. What i would do is i would Move anything that is not in a managed account in mutual funds. Into that. And i would pay off the truck tomorrow if you're going to keep it Normally we say do not own things that are more than half your annual income. This is barely but you also have six hundred and fifty thousand freaking dollars laying over here so. I think you can afford a driver's truck if you want to write And then Believe it or not. I'm going to suggest you do not buy a home with your fiance right now. On number one. You don't buy homes with people you're not married to After you're married. I would rent something even if it's something nice for six months get to know each other. It takes about a year of being married to know how close to your mother in law by. Yeah yeah in other. After a year of marriage you will make different housing decision than you would make today together. We've been running here for about two years. We've been married. yeah correct after. You've been married a while. You will make a different decision. You would make as shacked up john say's It's a different thing. Just is true and so i would take my time. And you've been the. There's a tortoise and the hare you've been the hair and you're ahead in the race and i'm going to switch sides and become the tortoise and i'm just gonna slow your butt down on the investing and on the house i'm really happy where you're where you are and you're obviously a very sharp guy. Yeah i mean you're obviously very bright so you may not do anything we say to you called and asked us which the danger of that is. We're gonna tell you. Tell you the truth and i think he will dave. I think he's he's a little nervous a little scared. He wants to make the right decisions. She wants house. Yeah and. Here's the thing. Dave i was going to say instead of for you know. Save like you said spent the first six months we year when she will get married and then with him walking away after he pays the capital gains. I pay cash. I'll pay cash for the house. That's why i was gonna say did i. And i'm saying it's like a two three hundred thousand four hundred. I don't care i've hundred. I don't care now you're good really. Everything's paid for everything. The money's gone. Yeah of it your all your taxes. Well i mean by the time you guys not the. It's back. investment accounts. Guess yes your taxes at fifteen percent on seventy percent of six fifty is just. That's not gonna cripple. The situation is And yes i would pay the capital gains in order to get this in the right setting and it doesn't sound like that much of it's gonna be subject to capital gains because sound like you've already done that when you moved from these higher higher risk things into the manage stuff you probably took your capital gain chen you liquidated investments to move them. That's my guess anyway I don't know exactly how you did that. But that's that's what it sounds like. You did to me so anyway. I'm gonna pay what capital gains. You got to pay for making the move and get it all undermanaged and i would sit there something for a little for a year after marriage six months after you're married then i would buy with cash and pay off the car today and i wanna say to america listening. You are processing at work for him. Let me go try that. No do not do it. I mean i think the numbers. They've update numbers right around. Seventy eight percent of the people who play in his field. Do not make a dime. They actually lose money and so Yes you hear. It worked over here But it does not mean more than likely if you had a buddy that will hit a lottery. Ticket doesn't mean that smart by lottery tickets. It's just you know that's the bottom line. And so and brandis are gavin smart enough to wise enough to be a little bit afraid in this situation. But congratulations that you're there. I'm so happy that you're twenty five years old and six hundred fifty thousand dollars. That's just so cool. That's so neat. And thanks for calling in asking the question.

House passed a bill that would increase the amount of money Americans receive in the second round of pandemic relief stimulus payments. But our 44 Republicans who voted for the Democrats going to go through as it comes down to the Senate, even though President Trump supports the measure, a number of Republicans voted against the bill, Wisconsin Republican Congressman Glenn Grothman. Looking at this bill today. It makes me feel like we're in the Parliament of Afghanistan. Brandi, a mentor, Bolivia. "Cage. Scott is doing a new netflix series on explaining the history of swear words. Now anyone that knows me personally knows that off the air now. I think people that listen to the radio may mean maybe surprised by this but listeners who occasionally encounter me on the streets Will find out. I curse a lot and now you've known me for a very long time. So you know that. I curse lauren. Brandi ideal with very regularly obviously have known for awhile too. And they know that. I am a cursor so i am absolutely fascinated in this series and we actually have a preview brought. He found the i. Guess the trailer for this. Netflix series with nicholas cage. Let's hear it is a thing of great wonder quivering with complexity strength and resilience however also buried with them. A delicate femininity and there are even say nuttiness look one way and you see a gentle feline innocence with another way homeboy. Yes it has the power to steer our souls an intoxicated. our minds men have died for it. Women have moved in with each other way too soon for it and to fully capture its essence. We must plunge unafraid deep within enchanted garden. Roll my friends. We are so close now. Fisher is upon the very house of life and death the temple of sexuality and a term for that kid too afraid to play dodge ball in gym class behold also could be a cat now right so that sold me because it was weird weird. He's guest stars on this show called. The history of swear words will include comedians like D'auray davis mike eagle nikki. Glasser pattie harrison. London hughes jim jefferies. Nick offerman sarah silverman and isaiah woodlock junior. So i'm in. Are you in. So i again. Nicholas cage freaks me out a little bit. I don't know why he's i. Think of nicholas cage in the movie face off with john travolta that movie very strange do nocholas cage and then was the movie was called leaving las vegas where he's like this evening drunk. Yeah yeah yeah. Elizabeth shue might be right. Yeah nicholas cage kind of freaks me out a little bit. So he's awareness day by like some crazy like dinosaur like head or something like that like at an auction one time for like millions and millions of dollars and he's got like an elvis fetish right it. Wasn't he married. lisa. Marie yes he was. Yeah i did not know that. He freaks me out a weird way now. The premise of the show the history or the the depth of the history of cursing in the english language. Yeah very curious. I like to curse a lot too. Sometimes it turns people off. Brandi Glanville Apologizes for Tactless Erika Jayne Divorce Post
"The real housewives are at war again. This time over a divorce so brandy glanville is being accused of cashing in on her friends. Heartbreaks brandy posted a link on instagram to story announcing erica james divorce. She later deleted the post in. Tweeted an apology. Saying i took xanax earlier. Because of what's going on in the world. I didn't see the post on my idea. Erica jane until this eve. And i deleted it the second i saw it. As i've said in the past. I leased my social media out i in no way would have been that insensitive interesting least her social media out meaning like she has a social media manager or did somebody probably controls. It and i do believe that she does that. I don't think brandi glanville is trying to start a media conglomerate and is trying to be the next to you but i do think that sometimes celebrities let loose and let people just control their things. Get in hot water. Sometimes i mean what would make even the social media possess. This is a good idea this rain here. People are talking about her doing this. This is why they do it. But i mean for her to write that that statement astor if i were i would be very upset at the first the first of all. I'm still unclear charisma. To your point about what leasing her social media out means like to me. It sounds like she allows other people to go on it and post on behalf of her but just on behalf of what they think is like. I don't know just determine a little confusing hard to follow. I don't think brandi glanville type of personality as we've seen many times over like put her foot in something and then take it out and be like i didn't mean to do that. I think she sees things through. So i believe her when she says i wasn't aware what was going on but i just think it's also one of those things that's like why this is like another little thing that brandies attached to that like. She didn't mean anything by but like now. Everyone's speculating insensitive. Don't you guys thing. Set the th. That should not have no women. No none of the women should be talking about erica. Cajones divorce on their social media. That can be on the show dealt with on the show reportedly win a celebrity has a lincoln their bio. It can usually mean that they're getting paid for the post. And i just checked right before we came on the air. The lincoln brand new bios till goes to this story. She didn't website I'll double check. The website will pay you to post for them. I have friends that are in acquaintances. That are famous and relatively known people that i talked to on a weekly basis. And of course i hear gossip about them all the time. I never bring it up until they bring it up. Because i never know win. Our how are what they want to talk about. So i'm going to bring it up not gonna bring it up. Panning could be the camera like here. This why it's still linking to it. Okay so i'm very confused on. If she really is sorry didn't mean to lease it out. Why still keep it in the bio. Unless like she has a contract with celebres and she needs to keep it up there for certain amount of hours. Something along those lines to nevada those votes. Because you're looking way too deep. Today's use your tactic somewhere else where it's day. I'm just curious. Okay well good news you guys. Maybe bad news. I dunno depends on how you feel about the whole relationship and the whole situation but we just got some photos of bachelorette clare crawley that. We have to talk about claire. Who spotted in her hometown rocky and massive diamond ramo on that finger. John don't do it like no. Don't talk about the shape of the rig. You know. I mean these married. Here's the thing that's definitely a wedding ring or engagement ring She knows she's going to be photographed. She knows we're going to speculate about that isn't the isn't the again. I'm not the biggest bachelor person in the world but isn't the point to like keep the end result of what happens to you completely secret until the series is wrapped. I don't think she really cares. Guys this really crazy that's right. I don't think she gives a shit. And i think the reason is. I don't think leaving the show was her choice. I've looked back and looked at this. Producer are abc executive. Did this podcast with nick. Vile and in the podcast. They talked about clare crawley and the producer said and i quote when she gave herself. The group rose because dell wasn't in the group that's when we started making the call. So i think at that point clare. Crawley was told. You might have to leave with dale this unacceptable. And you have to go. If they're going to break the contract and break the rules. I'm gonna do the same damn thing and i'm going to rub it in their basis. I found love and i. That's a good point because typically the reason why is because they are under contract and they can truly get sued if they let the cat out of the bag too soon. Isn't that's why there's sometimes photos so adamant about keeping secrets but you may have good argument there. If they if she feels that she could that they've worked the contract. I ending her season. Then she might say all bets off. Y'all can just no. I did damn thing now. Do you think she actually went through and got married forty. She's just letting everybody else because also that's that's public record right like if people get married. That's the bachelor does not control the courts like we. We could look that up. It's interesting. I think if things were so bad obviously. This season has taken a turn. That i don't think anybody has seen it bachelor history. I can't believe. I just said bachelor history a cod my street. Anyway so i don't. We've never seen this in the past. But i don't think. I think if there was such tension between her and This show we would hear more about that. Obviously we've heard about her leaving. I don. I don't know. I think it just keeps people engaged.

Chicago Tonight
Chicago Mayor Lightfoot Unveils "Pandemic Budget"
"Lightfoot the budget proposal includes a ninety four, million dollar property tax hike gas tax hike and layoffs as well as eliminating unfilled positions carol it seems like there are not that many maybe just a few good choices to turn to when you've got a one point two, billion dollar deficit. Brandis I think you don't even want to say good choices. Because, there are none. And you could route around for crop corporate head tax for transaction tax neither of which is going to pass muster of for most of the city council, a a number of other remedies that would need state legislative approval. There are no good choices, and then you say, do we go deeper into the rainy day fund immediately in the answer probably is no not right now because the pandemic is going to bring us maybe third wave of emergencies. So there's nothing cheerful about this only bad options. The mayor also stressed quote. Congress do your job to urge funding for cities towns. People are going to be receiving layoff notices on March first heather city employees. I would imagine between now and then a pretty anxious wondering whether or not they're going to be on the chopping block when that happens. That's right. It's a really a between a rock and a hard place and I think the mayor said, well, at least we can. We can. We have enough money in the bank to sort of put off this pain in the hopes that it something does pass the Senate and get signed either by a press, a president trump or future president biden and potentially But that's that's really hard on families and we heard mayor like talk. About that saying she knew she grew up in a family that lived paycheck to paycheck and that had to rely on food thinks giveaways when her father lost her job and I think that wears on her but it will not blunt criticism from progressive groups and others who say that this budget will really land hardest on the poorest chicagoans because of course, if you're living paycheck to paycheck and you might not have a job come. March. Second. That's very difficult place to be especially at a time were really high unemployment and the mayor also emphasized that there would be no reduction of service despite requiring furlough days for Non Union employees. Here's what she said sees and layoffs. We are also seeking five furlough days from all non union workers and I will lead by example and take those five furlough days myself. And we have worked with every city department to make sure that these personnel reductions will not result an immaterial decrease in the delivery of services to our residents. Amanda isn't going to be hard for residents and taxpayers to believe that services will remain the same under these difficult circumstances if you if you don't have some influence on the job some days. Well. There are rules around what can and can't be done in somebody is on furlough I'm going to guess that Mayor Lori lightfoot leading by example will still be working as mayor. There is no time off. So many of these are high level positions I don't think that you're going to see a dramatic cut or of the many things that we're going to worry about in the in the budget that that is going to be, and I will add that it's sort of difficult to measure these. Days, anyways, some departments presumably have a little bit less going on because of COVID nineteen end less demand for those services. Others are needed more than ever because residents are dependent on that but you're also giving services to residents in different ways again, because many people are staying at home. So it's all just going to be difficult to measure, but I think a choice that the mayor had to make particularly issues looking to these other choices of layoffs and raising property taxes she had to do some furloughed. Parents the mayor also says that she does not support so-called defunding the police, but she does support. Changing which first responders answer calls? How big is changing the first responder model while she's talking about a pilot program, which we don't know the specifics of yet. But this is something that is united people on both sides of this quote unquote defunding police battle. I've had so many police, officers and first responders tell me over the years that they don't want to be responding to. These certain types of calls, domestic issues, mental health people having a breakdown equipped to do it. They want to do police work, and they believe that work should be left up to mental health providers. So there is a program in Los, Angeles they've been doing this in Los Angeles where those calls go to there's a psychiatric mobile unit that runs around the city and offers services. And I've had first responders here. Tell me we need to do what L. A. is doing. So maybe this is what the mayor's talking about and it's it's so strange that you know defunding police engender so many emotions on both sides and yet this is actually something that police officers and activists actually agree on something. Yeah. Community agrees on this as well. Heather what's next? We're going to see a very tough battle in city. Council. I think we are So I think the biggest sticking point is going to be not only the ninety four, million dollar total property tax side but the mayor also wants to change the way the city levies property tax every year by changing it to an automatic increase, which is tied to the increase, the cost of living which is set by the federal government every year, and she says that that will avoid big property tax hike sort of on it every so often basis but I think that there are going to be some older minute we're GONNA have to. Sort of take a deep breath before they decide whether to vote for that because, of course, the municipal elections are just around the river bend at in two thousand and twenty three, and that could make winning reelection and more difficult. I. WanNa follow up here because I'm confused, we've got the one point two billion dollar budget gap, but there's also hundred million dollar budget gap this year because a revenues came in so much lower than what intimidated obviously because of covid how is that? Does that money just get sweeped into the next year I don't understand how that works. For the stint as might what I do right now. Is being filled by refinancing city data. So essentially, they're taking debt that it is at a higher interest rate. They're sort of refinancing it hoping to get a lower interest rate and they're taking those savings and then using that to cover the

Revision Path
Interview with Brandi Davis
"All right. So tell us who you are and what you do? Hi, my name is Brandy Davis. I am a graphic and web designer by trade. I am recently entering into the apparel industry we're going websites for my Niche is small businesses. I love helping small businesses and entrepreneurs create their branding and get their sites off and running and able to be profitable for their businesses. Nice. Now before we kind of get more into what you do and your background and everything. I've been doing this check in with everyone this year back of the pandemic. So, how are you kind of holding up during this time? I I'm starting to balance out. Thanks for asking. I'm starting to balance out when it first started that first month was very tough wage literally work came to a stop and understandably. So everyone was scrambling trying to figure out how to shift their business models from events and different song. Things I think stuff started to sort of shift a little bit better for me. Probably around May or June right now. We're starting to wear like on an upswing. So we're starting to get more clients that are looking to now they have a better grasp of what they're doing virtually. And so now they want to execute so things are starting to pick up a little bit more but that first month was like whoa, like it was silent. I had to struggle myself to sort of figure out like, how do I shift to support people in a life that that this ideal for us virtually for it to be a graphic and web designer. This is ideal. But how do I shift my model and Mark it to my existing clients and helps them in a virtual world. So I have a shift a little bit as well as a little scary at first, but it's starting to balance out and feel a little bit more like normal. Nice. What are your work dog? Kind of looking like right now just in general. So I try to balance things out between the graphic and apparel side because I do in-house printing for that piece. So I have sort of like a split day where maybe like the first four to five hours. I'm at this desk designing probably the last and then I do like some mean time in between and then late in the evenings. I'm printing for about another 3 to 4 hours. Wow, and you're doing the the printing in-house. Yes, I would say about 93.3% I know that's a weird number, but about 93% of the printing is done in-house. I used to use an online resource, but now just to kind of keep quality and that's basically to keep quality in shape. I was like, you know, what is an investment, but I need to bring this in house to make sure that I'm giving the customer what they expect. Wow. So you must have a dog I mean, well, I don't know tell me like what does that space look like it is so I'm home base. I am fingers crossed looking to move into the studio space of bigger workspace wage, but it's literally basement Workshop setup. I have a printer that he presses everything all the equipment that I need to treat the garments. I have any other like vinyl cutting different things that I do depending on a designs. It has been self-taught to for certain extent. I was not familiar with any of this at first I had other people that I would work with so long. It's yeah, it's it's not a massive work space but it gets the job done. You know, it's enough to kind of get the job done. I utilize about a fourth of the basement. Okay, I'm curious about that because you mentioned you know that you were doing it online and I know that there's a lot of these sort of print to order type of places where you can just like upload like an EPS birth. Something upload the design and then they'll do the printing but I feel you on the quality. We try to do merge at revision path. Oh God, like two years ago. Yeah and the quad he was definitely very sketchy. Like some people would get the shirts and the image is all glitchy and stretched out and I'm like, oh I didn't expect wage is definitely a trial-and-error with different printers. Yeah, because yet you could have a good run with one printer and then all of a sudden you'll get an image a t-shirt back in your life. This is not how we should look so it is it was so hit or miss and what I didn't like was I would have customers or people it was it luckily. It was people that knew me and so they were reach out and say hey just FYI. This is how a shirt look in case other people call and say something and so that's how I would know because lung Three people who were supporting me in the beginning were friends and colleagues. So they would reach out and say hey this is what I receive. And so then it was like, okay. I have to think about other option and I did do some local printers here in Chicago for a bit, but I still needed to they all had different print processes. So one person might get one shirt printed with screen print and then one person may get a vinyl shirt. And so it was so all over the place that I was like you need to streamline this because at this point it's starting to look more like a hobby business. And so I had to make the investment my family was super supportive everyone around me, you know were super supportive and helping me get support page that Financial place because I was literally diving into something that was way out of my budget, but, you know, we managed to, you know, they were able to support and manage the page. Get everything in place. But yes, it is very sketchy with online printing. Yeah,
