So we're really going to go and do the exact same thing in a different place where there's less loyalty for Sean Payton. We're going to put them in the exact same situation. That sounds kind of ridiculous to me. In the free agency era, the salary cap era, any team that has a good amount of success at some point is going to have to pay the bill. At some point, we saw it with the saints, we seen it with the rams. In some respects it happened with the Patriots. It happens. It happened. With the Broncos, it was, it was different because Peyton was such a unique circumstance. When did we see it with the Patriots? As well, because I remember Jamie Collins accent for more money and I remember hearing stories about Bill Belichick from media members, but also to people who were in that locker room. Teammates of mine that I had in college that, hey, Jamie Collins wanted more money. We didn't want to give it to him. So he just was traded to the Cleveland Browns. What have they done in the last few years? Tom Brady ever just up against the salary cap as well. It takes the culture, the culture of it. When you have the right culture, when you have the right head coach and it says, hey, this is what we're doing for a Super Bowl. And nobody's going to get the superstar treatment. Yes, there's a way to make that happen. I'm not trusting Sean Payton with that way, especially with all the loyalty that the New Orleans Saints had behind John Payton and watching what he did out there. The crazy thing, the crazy money that we hand out to players, we're not willing to hand out to a coach after the debacle of head coaches that we've seen around here for the last several years. With the same roster and Nathaniel Hackett head. You were out and came in and scored 55 points in two games. That was two games, you think. So you think that Jerry Rosberg if given the 55%. You want Jerry Rosberg to be your head coach? No, I don't want to rush. I just think that you don't have to shoot for the stars in the situation. It increased 10% and yet the efficiency dwindled. Because you had linebackers again that weren't really respecting the run. Overall, Tennessee had the lowest completed air yards of week 9, and it was one of those rare times when you put it in context where Julio Jones practice all week, AJ Brown didn't carry an injury designation to start the week. I know he's a DNP on Friday, but that was for some other things, not health related. So you just wonder if Todd downing is going to open things up more or if he just says, hey, our defense is playing great. We've won four in a row. We signed a major informant for a reason and you know, we got two starting alignment back at practice this week. This is going to be our offense and we ain't changing. If that's the case, this game is going to stay under. But if the Titans decide to open it up and throw the ball and put mcnichols on the field and design matchups for AJ Brown and Julio Jones to pick on the saint's third round corner, Paulson adipo. Then the game can change a little bit, you know? Letting Jenkins go left this same secondary a little bit vulnerable, opposite Lattimore. The Bradley Roby trade has not gone as planned yet, we'll see. So Paulson adibo is basically thrown into the fire as a third round rookie. Getting burned a little bit. But I think if you're looking to win this game, eventually at some point, you're going to have to open it up a little bit. And you're going to have to attack a depot, and you're going to have to hopefully design things to get AJ Brown paired up on that side of the field and away from Marshawn Lattimore. You're going to have to hope that Julio Jones who's trending a little bit healthier. It's going to have to dominate that matchup. So those are really the key here. Obviously, you know, we're looking at this game. It's come off the three. Even the open at three is quite talented. Yeah, I mean, you talked about some of the issues that have plagued the saints. We know how good they are against the run, but the numbers don't lie as far as they're susceptibility to big plays. They have allowed 5 completions of 50 plus through the air this season, they're tied for 28th in the league in completions of 25 plus yards against them tied for 20th. They've given up 32 completions of 20 plus yards. And that's all you read from some of the saints beat writers last week about how they were completely confused and befuddled in past coverage allowing Matt Ryan to throw for 340 plus yards and generate a quarterback rating of one 36. Now, on the other side of the ball paint, I think the Titans defense has been a pleasant surprise. I mean, last week against the rams, they not only score touchdown themselves. They set up a two yard touchdown drive. They've been able to get after opposing quarterbacks, 23 sacks already on the young season, considering they only generated 19 last year, I'd say it's a step in the right direction. You're getting Jeffrey Simmons, a one man wrecking crew accounted for three sacks on his own. Harold Landry becoming an unsung star him TJ watt and miles Garrett are kind of in that elite pass rushing class, so to speak right now, his 18 quarterback hits put him top 5 in the league and his 35 pressures behind only miles Garrett, in comes the saints offense that we know is extremely limited at the receiver position. I mean, they're wide outs of cost caught. My God, I'm struggling. Have caught fewer balls as a collective group this season than Cooper Cup and tyreek hill alone. If you're Sean Payton and you're drawing up an offensive game plan, how are you going about attacking this Tennessee defense? You did call Harold Landry by the right name. You weren't the guy on draft night who called them honor Landry. So you have that going. I mean, it's a small win right now is I stumble over my words deep, deep into the week. We'll see how many times I have to repeat myself. It's foggy. I did the same thing. I thought I was going to get a good night's sleep last night and then I just laid in bed and then I did the stupid thing and didn't wake up right away and hit the snooze twice, and it's just an absolute fog upstairs this morning. When I look at the saint's offense, the Trevor Simeon thing with Sean Payton pulling the strings might not be bad. And you go back and look last week, Simeon's completion percentage 1% above expectation, not bad. Only one turnover worthy throw. When the offensive line kept them clean, 83%.

And he's gonna continue to improve along the way and they're going to continue to put more on his plate doesn't necessarily mean that it transpires this weekend. Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars Fall 37 21 in Houston against the Texans. Mac Jones in the Patriots fall 17 16 at home against the Dolphins. Your general assessment of the three starters. Did anyone stand out to you in a good way? A bad way as you see it. I will go the Mac Jones route. But before I get to that, just hearing you go through those games. You're talking about three debuts that frankly, you could have argued, might have had a shot at being winnable. I think that the Jets had a tall order, but we didn't know what Sam Donald was going to look like in a Panthers uniform, and I think that you would have circled that Houston matchup. If you were a Jags fan, as maybe the game that you could actually get in the W column. Those performances didn't go nearly as well, largely because of the teams around those quarterbacks, but the Mac Jones debut That's the one that stands out to me because he had a really promising debut against my Miami Dolphins. You looked a heck of a lot better than I wanted him to. If I'm being honest with you, he showed that the game is definitely not too big for him. I mean, I think we knew that coming off of the preseason the moment not too big he was throwing in rhythm. He was throwing out of empty formations. He looked good on accuracy. He looked great with his decision making. It was all very disappointing as the Miami Dolphins fan his 133 passing yards Joe in the first half would have been a season high in the first half for the 2020 Patriots. So it is seems that Bill and the guys with the New England Patriots made the right decision going with Mac Jones over Cam Newton. I was really impressed. 29 to 39 280 are 81 yards. One touchdown, no interceptions for Jones. He kept his cool against. I think a very good Miami Dolphins defense that ended up winning the Dolphins the game. And you know what they were in position to win. They were in position. He goes 28 51 332 yards, three touchdowns, interceptions. I'm not worried about Lawrence. He can play. I'm worried about his head coach. I'm not sure you can get the job done at this level, and I know it's one game. But that was an abject failure on all levels on behalf of urban Meyer. Okay, it's one thing to be Cleveland like we talked about earlier. You show up in Kansas City. You played a hell of a game. You come up shortly, There was an opportunity to win it. But you didn't close, Not the end of the world, right? You showed you can hang. You played very well. There's a lot of positive takeaway. There's no positive to take away from Urban Meyer's debut as an NFL head coach, literally. None. You were going against the team that was the favorite to go over 17. You're going against the most dysfunctional franchise in the business. Talent lacking at almost every spot on the field. They traded away. Bradley Roby, They're cornerback over the weekend of the Saints to Shawn Watson is not playing JJ Watts gone. And you rolled in. There is a 3.5 point favorite. You didn't just get smoked by 16 points in that game. Alright. You only held the ball for 25 minutes on offense. Losing that game is one thing getting blown out in Houston and playing like that is a completely different story. Yes. You mentioned that there is no positive takeaways. If you're a Jags fan, I think that there are like you. Don't you dare try to sell it. Don't you dare in regards to Lawrence, right? I mean, I think you saw that arm strength. You saw that The mechanics are an elite level. He cycled through those receiver progressions. He got rid of the ball in a heartbeat. Which Lord knows he's going to need to find that Jack's line threaded the ball. The touchdowns were are I mean, there were moments from Lawrence in frankly sewage? There were moments from Lawrence. Where if you're a Jags fan, you feel pretty good about the future there under center. You're right. The rest of that operation was trash. I mean, I don't know There's not really a nicer way, Sister. Listen. It's it's the debut of Urban Meyer's a head coach. You don't get the number one pick. If you're a great team, you don't walk into that situation if you're urban Meyer if it's a great team, and you're not on that team, if you're Trevor Lawrence, if it's already a great team intact, That's not how it works. That's not how it works. Bringing in these former college coaches these big time names, and it's not how it works. Getting the number one pick in any drafted any year. We could say the same thing about Zach Wilson's debut where Hey, Zack, spent way too much time running for His life and on his His back, and he took way too much time at times and too many shots like he showed us. Interception percentage overall is lower than that like every year. And that's linebackers mckinney. Honest complete total serious football question. Why mike why. What is it about james linebackers. They're going to be able to pressure quarterback they can stay healthy and i think the kaman jordan Do like roach from texas defense lineman. I think what they're going to be able to do. Especially with the mara davis patrolling the middle of that linebacking core. I think that their defense is still going to be good enough to help them get through. And i do think that when you couple all these factors together the saint should they have make up a playoff team at least in the nfc. I wouldn't be shocked at all. I'm not really concerned about the cornerback. I know that's a thing that people have been concerned about during the offseason but the way they played defensive play a lot of t y they're going to have to saint deep. They're gonna have a lot of help. I really don't think it's going to be that big. An issue and the main concern is depth. But that's also the main concern with the bucks. Both these teams have pretty good. Starting lineups of the buffs have a great starting lineup. I think it's a little bit different because it's the it's the concert with the box because there's literally nothing else that can be the concern with box. He's got a lot of good experience and he makes a fair amount of plays but there were some demerits last year yet big suspension for performance. Enhancing that's major dang. Six games suspended for this game anyway. But he could be as high as their number one wide receiver in this game and easy tremendous matchup against houston defense that we thought they'd be without their top corner bradley roby. Well now they will be all season. 'cause they traded him to the new orleans saints so rough spot for that defense for shores they kinda rebuilding team and look the way. Marvin jones is utilized.
