"Once in a while saying like, hey, I graduated. I'm working over here. I'm living here. I just moved here and another story I have is a girl who was in similar situations like Iowa's poor family, two siblings, both girls, both parents in the same pressure. This was around the time, something very dramatic happened in India that was called as demonetization. In that, I'm not sure if you're aware, but overnight the Government of India banned the use of certain denomination of bills. In the economy. So what happened was sheath suffered a lot because of. You talk about monetary currency now. I just want to make sure you come in. I think 500 rupee bill and a thousand were favorable. So what happened was she got stuck in between that. She had an administrator to make a deposit to the university. But the bank wouldn't let her access any loans or any money from her own account, even if she had some that she had saved over the month. And whatever she couldn't keep cash because the cash will be worthless since the denominations were banned. She worked very hard and then I told her take a break. Let's take a break off your and try for a scholarship. So that way, we can work on your profile even better. She did get a scholarship. She got a 150% scholarship from the college. That paid not only her children, but her rent, her books, her laptop, and gave her a job on campus that paid her $1200 a month. That is like a great privilege. Then I had another boy who got U.S. Visa rejected for four times and nobody could help him. He was like, mama I've tried everything. I don't know why, but it would not be approved ever. And he can't come if his Visa is not approved. So I was like, you know, let's give a shot. I trained him. I told him everything, all the answers and everything, like, how to answer how to prepare your answer, how confident it will speak all the body language training. That person's Visa was approved in the first ten seconds of the interview. Well, that's an awesome great testimony of story. Makes you feel good too, doesn't it? When you know that you've accomplished something that makes you a sense that you have value and what you're doing and you're doing something greater than yourself and so that's a huge need out there for people to understand the immigration issue better for the work with folks who are inbred into our country, the need is great. We have great need economically in all kinds of ways, you know, and we are better for it in Western countries when we have diverse we've become better when we become more eclectic in that type of way. So I just want to thank you for the work that you're doing. And in a folks want to know more about you and who, about who you are and what you're about. They can find me on Instagram on Instagram. We have close to 30,000 followers. They can always find me on Instagram. And if they want to look at my professional professional credentials and they can find me on LinkedIn using my name aru. And on Instagram, I use the handle called as flying with wings, EDU. But we will put connections and links to all of that on our show notes page, doctor Brad Miller dot com. And it's been a real pleasure to have a new what with us today, her name of her organization is called wings education, it's looked for great things from Newman from the services that you offer as you offer a vital service that helps everybody really. So our guest today on beyond adversity and new what. What a great story. What a fascinating person a new what is from wings educating dot com that's wings education, wi NGS, educations with an S of the end dot com. And she talks about her company and her process and her story about how to overcome the adversity and incredible obstacles of being an immigrant and to have success. I've seen those firsthand myself every my good people. I work with immigrants and my church, I'm at our church that I serve as a pastor is has English language people and Spanish language people includes many immigrants from Central and South America. And I've seen how incredibly astute they are at problem solving, dealing with the matters at hand and to succeed anyhow and working together. In other situations I have seen people work together to from other cultures from Myanmar, the country of Myanmar, for instance, I have worked with other folks from that country who have gone through an incredible Civil War where they hand they had a religious persecution. Where they fled for their very lives to come to the United States in this case and how they worked together. Here is the thing. Here is the actual points that they have done and that you can do this too. That is to commit to problem solving. Do you have an attitude a immigrant mindset if you will to do whatever it takes, and to deal with whatever the circumstances are with grace and the motivated even when you fail. If you fail, ten times you still get up and you still try to solve the problem. A new points towards education as being a key factor in that. So my takeaway for you today, the action point is if you have a problem in your life, be a problem solver. Don't whine and complain about it. Look for the ways you can solve the problem. And the second piece is to get educated. Learn about it, and then apply your learning to your problem solving. That could be helpful. If you need some help in this area, particularly in the area of immigration, go over to wings, educations dot com and talk to a new what and she could be helpful to you as well. "But right now, she's here as our guest on the beyond adversity podcast with doctor Brad Miller. So let's get into our great conversation with angel hiles right now. We welcome to beyond adversity angel, Ohio's. Thank you very much. I'm happy to be here. Well, it's awesome to have you with us here today on beyond adversity angel. You have a, your clinical counselor, where you are helpful to people, children, and adults who've had their own traumas and situations to go through in life. I have a feeling though that some of this stems from your own experiences with Simone your own challenges or perhaps traumas in your life. Can you maybe tell us a little bit about some situation in your life that was traumatic or dramatic and was a part of your process of leading you into the life of a clinical counselor? Sure. What a great question. I would definitely you are correct on the background. So my trauma started in childhood. So there was several different traumas. The main one I want to talk about though is more of ones that just go beneath the radar, which are more attachment traumas and relational traumas. Developmental traumas. Where our needs aren't met as children or emotional needs. And we don't have that secure attachment where we feel safe to experience ourselves and to connect with others, which causes a lot of distress. So I was.

"Meaning, you know, a story about, you know, the romantic comedy, the story where it's, you know, this love story. And the specifics of how does this specifically relate to me like a great lyric from journey, don't stop believing. Just a small town girl living in a lonely world. She took a midnight train going anywhere. So this speaks specifically to a woman in a small town. Who needs to escape? So guess how many small town women need to escape a lot, right? And then the next line, city boy in south Detroit also needs to escape on that midnight train. Well, now we're talking about people who live in cities. Well, that's basically everybody else. And then the man, that's basically everybody else there, too. So in two lines, this guy, Steve Perry has spoken to everyone who needs to get out by being both general and specific. Amazing. And of course, and then you back that with the power of a Steve Perry's voice and the band and everything comes together to give it resonance to give it power to give it energy. And I take it, that's what you want to do. You know, Jeff, is you want to help people do this, don't you? You want to help us to happen. You say you want to inspire and teach writers, artists, songwriters musicians, filmmakers, arts organizations, and anybody with a heartbeat to amp up their vision to tap in their potential and shine in the world as what you say on your website. So how are you doing that? I know you have a coaching program, and then I would love to hear an example of a person or a situation that has had some transformation under your leadership and come out to accomplish something cool. Yes, when we create if we can tap into our truth and the vulnerability of our experience, and then have the skills to create some kind of art from that, whether it's writing a book or a story or a song or painting or whatever the thing is, that's the magic sauce. And by the way, it does not do not have to be particularly well skilled on the craft, okay? People think, oh, I got to be a perfect guitar player before I write a great song, not true. You think of the Sex Pistols, the punk band, right? And these guys could barely play, but they were so angry. And they put that anger into those songs and bam, they changed the world. Everybody, you know, got that. They're like, you don't need a great song. You need a melody and the vibe, the feeling the emotion. So that is, you know, one of the many things that I coach people do is try to tap in to what is really true for them, even if it hurts, even if it's joyful, whatever it is and then funnel that through their skills as a writer, songwriter singer, and create the best. Kick in. Can you give us an example of a situation, our person that you've seen kind of this transformation happen where all of a sudden they had this aha moment where they got it and you were able to be a part of it in some form or another and something really amazing happened. Yeah. A couple of years ago, I coached a woman who had a stillbirth, very tragic, like really messed around, right? And, you know, a year or two later, she's like, I want to write about this. And we went through this experience and, you know, helping her tap into this helping her right about this. And I believe that through this experience, she eventually let go of all of that heaviness, you know, that was holding her down and, you know, stopping her from moving forward in her life. And yeah, I mean, it was awesome. It was pretty interesting. When you see live transformation happen and you have any part to play in it, at least from my perspective or there's just nothing better. Nothing better. And if people want to get understand a piece of what you are about, Jeff, I know you got a coaching program, you're accomplished artists in your own right and how can people what would they find on your website, for instance, or what are they going to find? What kind of process? What kind of coaching? What's going to be involved with that? And where can they find you? Sure. Well, you can find me on the website, Jeff Liza wits dot com. If you can get even close to spelling it right, you'll get there. Hopefully, Brad, you can put a link there somewhere on your shoulders. And yeah, I'm happy to do introductory coaching sessions with people to see how I can help them. And really, every client is they're different in ways and similar in ways. So what we would do first is really just assess where you are, what might be stopping you, et cetera, et cetera. And I sort of work on two levels. The one level is sort of some of the stuff we talked about. Understanding your priorities, what's your why? You know, getting some good habits together, things like that. And then I also work on a level, which I call the sort of inner world, which is the psychological or subconscious aspects of ourselves, which may be holding us back. We all have beliefs and identities that are subconscious. We're not really thinking about them, but they affect everything in our lives. So if you believe that you're smart and good-looking and capable, that's great. And you run everything in your life kind of through that. But if you have some kind of subconscious belief that's based on, you know, the world's out to get me, where I quit when things get hard. Eventually, those things are going to get you. So we go in and we do some guided meditations and some various other techniques and things. And sort of work both of these. So that we can rock forward into pure. This rock forward into pure awesome. That sounds like a T-shirt right there. Rock forward? Yeah. Pure awesome. I love it. Well, it's been a pleasure to have you with us today on beyond adversity. You, Jeff, you've given us some real cool processes about something I'm really just kind of I'm not about classic rock is really what I'm about. And I love that kind of stuff. But also to see how people can transform and music and the arts certainly touches people on a heart level as you have said and appreciate what you do. And we look forward to hearing more from you. And we'll put connections to your website and everything else in our website at doctor Brad Miller dot com. So that people can come to you, Jeff, Lisa with.

"So on Wednesday morning after we had slowed down for a couple of days, this guy who had come to this event twice. His name's Michael glavin. Michael is from the Chicagoland area. He has a group counseling practice there. He does this amazing couples therapy work. And he had been trying to really get this work down into a book. And I remember the first sprint that we did, he went outside and decided he was going to work on the structure of his book for this 20 minute sprint. And in 20 minutes, he got done his first 9 chapters outlined with three to 5 points in each chapter. And the thing that had been hanging over his head for months, he got done in 20 minutes. And what's great about slowdown school when we're implementing these ideas of slowing down to then speed up is it becomes a springboard into how these people live life back home. It's not like slowdown school is the only place that they learn to slow down and then speed up. It's that they've got a glimpse into, wow, I just got months of work done in 20 minutes. And so for Michael and for a lot of the participants, when we do slow down school together, they see this glimpse into a new method of using the neuroscience to inform how we do our regular everyday work to get more done and to feel less stressed in the process. Amazing stuff there. We appreciate all that insight you have. The name of the book is Thursday is the new Friday where he helps people to work few hours, make more money and spend more time doing what you want. You have to make a plan in your choice and then you have to take action on your choices. And the other part of it, you need people to go along with you in this place. Says, and he talked about having value-based accountability Partners who helped hold him accountable to his process emotionally and spiritually and professionally, and how that was a big part of his life. Lots of great authors and teachers and leaders, who can speak into your life, to help you to overcome adversity, in your life, and took courage to a place, a peace prosperity, and purpose from my perspective, it all begins with one decision. That is to make a promise, a promise to yourself to change that. You will not remain in the status quo. And here's the thing, make a promise is one thing but the most powerful thing you can do is to keep off premises to yourself and to others and to others. Tyler Reddick on his impressive debut at Darlington

"Welcome to another edition of Nascar America at home at home for three of us at the race track for one of US have myself Steve. Jeff Burton Dale and the driver of the number eight. Catch Chevy for our CR tyler. Rettig straight off of what seventh-place good rundown demand by last lap. Air Jones had a problem there and was right on my tail and he was about to get that position from me but had to fight hard those last few laps and was able to close it out with some place. Finish dollar your fast all day long. And you know what? What was it about your car? Were you surprised at how good it was? And where do you think you were the strongest? And how are you able to get you know? Drive yourself up through the field. You had to pass a lot of cars all day long. Yeah I made a few mistakes on the first start and really didn't pass anybody and then after the second start that we had there I I really didn't get going at all. I was probably further back than what I started. And then all of a sudden I just start rolling the top one into pretty good runs close to the fence before it really got rub it in and we hope to make a lot of time up there but Yeah it was a tough day. I mean we just finally got tradition in the top five caught. Peace that Louis New Banner and We tried to fix that and get that off the car we had a control. Tyre and all the way back to twenty three. Start of the day add. Add to come to the front again or try to Best we got with seven so tyler junior. Now we're talking during the race about your line you and how you just mentioned it. Run highlight and wanted to a lot of people. Run the high line in the middle of the. You're running it on the exit until you actually use a lot of racetrack up kind of no man's land if if you got two or three inches too far out you're gonNA hit the wall. How are you so confident to run up there at such a young age? Well Great Valentine's in the simulator? We tire out of the tires. It Brad Miller of it actually didn't slow the car down that much and it actually felt really really good. I was really surprised that even worked in the simulator and obviously we all know de Hamlin makes a credible amount of time even more inexpensive expanding cars than than a cup car but with today star fall off that we saw that line came into play really early and I was almost scared like what Danny likes joke about is. I don't want to use it too much and show my hand but it was so Dang fast at times that it was it was it was hard not to run in it but we definitely for sure about halfway through the race made a few wrong adjustments and it allowed everybody else to catch up to us but I mean I got braces Darlington race. That long it's going to change more than I've ever experienced there an xfinity car so that was. It was definitely a challenge today.
