"Fly out I think the monday before the british cup so the plan is to train him straight up to the breeders cup now. Yeah yeah for sure that. That's that's been our plan and that's where we're going to try to do. And i think i think it'll work out. He's he's a horse. That's obviously proven a mile and a corner and even amount of half of the distance won't be an issue. Just make sure we haven't fit. I don't think that'll be problem and excited about giving opportunity against older horses. I know you had a huge breeders cup day last year brad but sitting here now looking at potentially saddling the top two horses in the breeders cup classic. How cool is that really. Cool is gonna guess. No i you know. I'm just very thankful You know obviously. I think the owners for you know giving us good horseflesh to work with and You know great great help assistance. A how walker springs forms. Everyone that you know involved on day-to-day basis. They put us in this position to succeed. So it's been really good last week. You had to say goodbye to your time. Breeders cup winner. Champion monoploy girl. She is now retired. She's at spendthrift boy that had to be tough. Yeah yeah no. I was but you know it was kind of an easy decision to make you know happy with on morning. It out of a gallup. You know x rays. Reveal something very minor that you know would need time and You know isn't easy decision to make you excited actually to you know. See or go home. Make babies and excited to see that. I in the michigan. You can see why he's a champion trainer. Can't you brad cox here on the horse. Racing radio network brad. Listen go get your work done. "Seems to be over that. So i think i think we're in good shape and and enrolling the right way with him so we'll we'll have. Hopefully you're not going to him in the near future. Well all right so for those. That are are listening and keeping tabs No essential quality in baltimore A decision coming on manned lunar in in concert with the with garrett o'rourke from judd mont and John and anthony and rattle put their heads together about caddo so at least We got we got a partial decision. Meanwhile let's Talk about the phillies as well and Travel column good nice effort. I mean equality effort your thoughts coming out of the oaks You know not. I you know she. She tried hard You know a little disappointed in the play thing but she did run heart. She did come out of order very actually very happy with she came out of it. She went back to the track today. i think we're gonna turn our attention toward the acorn You know we need to integrate one with her. We think she's a great one philly And i think the coma be You know obviously turned back and distance. Never seems to really be a bad thing. I think the acorn the timing of it and everything makes a lotta sense. Should six weeks to the kentucky oaks so she had plenty of time between the fairgrounds oaks and the kentucky oaks and you know it falls. Well hopefully You know show up. Belmont day in the acorn nice and coaching she was she was up against it a little. Yeah yeah she needed to move forward again. She didn't run a bad race at all. just you know wasn't beating along ways or anything. I mean not bits but definitely you know step back a little bit. You know move. We probably won't be hunting for great one In the near future you know. Just take a step back and and try to pick off a great two or three at some point this year with her. Well then. let's talk about the the weekend winners. Including gee there's the devil winds the trend and adds another great one and obviously at this racetrack she's She's a handful. Yeah yes he really likes. Churchill we're proud of her performance and and you know very excited that she was able to win a great one at the age of four So you won't point her for the breeders cup and you know work our way. Back from there We have you know You know there's several other great ones out there. We would like to target and You know sue see what happens but she really did. Come out of good order from the sound philly gave her some time last fall And she was spotted well as an older horse and she seems to be going the right way and and very happy with our performance. And hopefully we'd three or stuff and good good order. She dares the devil there was also a course The stock about The edgewood I don't wanna say go but Brad We saw you know and and was as as annoyed and frustrated. Is anybody Lives grow tweeted that On pearl glad she called it a three out of five What what's the aftermath of that debut for the seasonal debut. Well yeah we're just going to back off a little bit You know Just put on some antibiotics afterwards. Just kind of let her chill you come out of the race shrinking sound. So we're just gonna kinda take a deep breath relax Maybe just you know. Give her a short break Give her lungs. Time to heal and You know bring her backtra trainer You know Just kinda see if she moves forward And kind of go from there. I mean i don't really have a whole lot of idea what we're gonna do right now. Just going to let her tell us over the next couple of weeks or months and You know or we'll hopefully be able to get her back to the races and being able to compete in a great at stake level or grade one level because she's a greg one talent and You know we Accomplished a lot of the two year. And we're going to have to just you know. Pick our spots and kind of see what goes along with this issue as far as the bleeding goes. I mean it's You know something that we're going to have to deal with And hopefully she can overcome it. How annoying is this to you. I mean the horse players. I mean here was one of the most backed courses of the weekend. And the the industry basically spitting in the face of course players by putting us in this position where we just. It's it's it's an absolute wheel of fortune with whether a horses is going to bleed and have it diminish their effort or not. You know i. It's frustrating i mean You know when you have a philly like this when went through with You know hidden scroll in the commonwealth so you know i. It's tough when horses are allowed to run on lasix and then you know there's racists where there are no you know no way so it's it's tough You know it's tough on courses. What stuff so It definitely throws a wrench in You know like you said he'd capping. I mean definitely cost to To get along on it But you know And you know moving forward with her racing. I mean you know for someone i mean. It's gonna.

"You very much. Gary young everybody and career accomplishment and a moment that you work you quietly worked toward or dream about and You can really get the sense of what it's like when it happens. You know listening to gary he's He's just terrific and he's certainly when it comes as he said about the lab said that that that's part of it because he's provided so much mirth For so many of us you know that the get to spend time with them whether it's sales or at the track on this on this setting you know for us. It's derby week so really nice. Really nice nicer. what what. It's nice when something something nice. Something good happens to show people that you that you liken admire. Got about a half an hour. And we're gonna talk to brad cox. We're gonna talk to brendan walsh's well. I wanna slip brendan in case. Let's get brennan in ear for a couple of minutes before brad joins us and I wanna get the little max field conversation quickly because that's a performance in the alysheba on friday. That went under the radar. I you know it. At the time you know. Just look like a nice win And then when you go back and realize how how he ran It's it's notable and i'm curious to hear from brendon. What what he thinks that means for for max field because this was the terms of in terms of a distance. Yeah just curious about mile and a sixteenth. And and how brilliant. He was on friday. So we'll see We'll also get an update on prevalence And the walsh barn Certainly has come alive. The last i don't know two weeks so we'll get an update from brendon. And then brad goksel provide us with some thoughts on his weekend. Which can you go back to friday. She dares the devil that performance to hasn't really And then she you know she looked tough and and she came through then baton d. and then we've mentioned finite as well to To steve asks me But you know. Brad had had no shortage of success and Even if it wasn't in a what he was hoping for you know in the oaks and derby His horses ran very well. You know well case in that case. Go to go to brad then because we got to. We do have a lot to cover with them. So i might have. I might have missed the window with brendan we we were. We told them in about quarter after. But i didn't want to I didn't wanna rush berry at all i wanted. I wanted to hear everything. So i'm glad we did Some of the other racing news We'll save it actually for tomorrow The and some of the other Results i haven't even mentioned I i just had. Gary i should have Thanked him as well and not only not only did he put people on on the spirit and and and make them help them focus their their derby. Approach he also Gave that push on the senorita winner. simon simon callaghan That madan that When we talked to gary was that thursday we were and i happen to mention The california stakes action and an he delivered there too. So maybe maybe some of you Kc yeah brendan just The tax that he said When when he goes to answer the call gets cut off it it it soon as he goes to to hit all right so i guess we'll say We'll save Brendan for tomorrow. Because brad cox is with us breath. Congratulations on on a very successful weekend. I i know that you know when you when you send out horses At the highest level and and There's some sense of disappointment if you don't win but all your horses all ran there we go. Hey sorry thanks on. No not at all and here. You've got to be happy with with the performances. Yeah yeah for sure about colts in the derby Super pleased that they showed up in the races. And you know so close but so far and You know once again. You know just very pleased with Both efforts from both clubs. I guess i mean there's plenty of wins the talk about including she dares the devil of course earlier in the week Setpiece sunday you won the ruffy in And there's also you know the the non snakes action from the weekend including supremacy and and cool house. But you know when when you've looked at the replays and i'm sure you've watched him a dozen times. I mean what. What were your thoughts in terms of start with central quality and and you know what you thought the difference was well you know break getting You know kind of get bumped a little bit and maybe losing a little position Early you know. I think we had the using just a little bit to get the positioning was able to get going into the first turn which maybe cost them a little bit. I was. I was very concerned. And i really didn't want to be any any watered and too wide going into that i turn And you know we've found herself three or four. Why but like you said you know. Using a.

Louisville's Brad Cox looks to take another step toward Kentucky Derby with Mandaloun

"Brad thanks for joining us today here on race day. It happening gasping for having me on. This is the longest we've went. Went out having you on. Congratulations on the eclipse award. We haven't talked to you since then. congratulations well deserved. Thank you very very much For a guy who's has much as much success as you've had in the last four three or four years especially never ran a horse in the kentucky derby and now Not only the at the two year old champ in essential quality. We'll talk about A little later on but You have a worse in the loon who Provided all goes well tomorrow looks to be a serious serious animal on that road to louisville Amazingly just six weeks away from kentucky derby one. Forty-seven talk to us about mandolin. While you know he's he's really Taken shape we always displayed a good bit account as a two year old and now he's able to show that to starts as a two year old Ram one turn which we thought was you know. I thought he'd be a to turn horse. But you know just displayed enough speed of the morning to You know give us the confidence to run him. first couple around one turn so worked out really well and he continues to get better. Every rice thought his first round turns and the cop is a really good race. A little water on both turns. You know we added the blinkers another race. Going in for you know for a horse to finish up the way did go. On a mile and nathan february of their three zero year says a lot so You know. I'm i'm hopeful and confident. He'll move forward again tomorrow. in louisiana derby he'll need to As all these sources seemed to be you know moving in the right direction at the right time so You know you just gotta continue to that you know forward move to the kentucky derby and you know he he's one that's you know somewhat lightly raced having only run four times and You know we spaced as racist. Well tried to buy designs. And he's doing really well so hopefully the more he can You know get the job done you know. Take that next step toward the kentucky derby how big of a role that you think. The blinkers played arisen star. I think they helped him If you go back and watch this horses. I keep him he was. It was a very impressive race. He broke well then. They kind of run away from ducking and diving splitting horses. Very impressive and then if you watch galloping out i mean. He sees the gap and tries to make the gap. I mean he's not that he's tried that a lot or anything but like he does walks things he does look at things and You know. I think that kinda comes from that empire maker line You know he. He does tend to you. Know looking gawk at things tom tom. I've had writers tell me that he needs flock comeback after social. And he's blinkers. You know. And i thought we'd just continue educating along the way not really throw them on until really felt like we needed to He's able to get it done in the second star. Going seven eighths. I didn't really want to put the blinkers on him in his first start. Going around two turns I do think they may hold helping that day. Kind of putting getting wearing needed to beat a win. You know but the end goal was not to win. The lecomte you know is to educate the horse and Thought still was the right move. Not having them on. We added them. And i definitely think to get him a little sharper. You know polish off a little bit as far as being a little more focused and and You know just experience the the to turn racial hell played a big role as well so i think it was a couple of things that you know. Really set him up for a big race with the additional blinkers and second time around two turns into star

I feel like you know showed some speed from the gate. Hope hopefully she can be involved early and you know. I think it's a really good race for get set up a nice little. This british idiom started her career with an auction maiden race. I think it's a really good for for the horses for the owners and gives you know not everybody playing at the highest of the auction You know an opportunity to run horses and maiden special weights that Obviously restricted have some type of restriction on small. Lots going on. And i already. We already went ten minutes longer than That i promise. Brad cox well done this past weekend and Getting the two champions back successfully and We'll talk soon as the luck. Thank thank you. And i you know. He's got to got eight million horses. "Really what you you know how you want it to work out. And you know we'll see you know Both are very colts. I honestly can't split them I can't split any of the top three costa. We haven't are wondering other. They're all very very good Very fortunate to be in this position you know. Very thankful for the owners for the opportunity with the colts. And you know it's our job to try to get them in the first saturday in may and You know like. I said it all play out. I'm sure as far as the jock situation. But you know if if if he has a hard time decide. That's probably a good thing Brad how 'bout The philly side. Let's let's get update on the on the three year old fillies and get rid of what ails you. Start there. she's she's pointing her for the Very here at oaklawn she's the one off layoffs. He's had a decent work this past week and So i will more work before the race on the thirteenth excellent and Who am i missing We should ask about traveled. Bright travel column travel columns doing well. She's right now for the rachel alexander with her. I'm sorry no not the actual the excellence. The oaks the fairgrounds folks I see she had an easy work this past weekend. She'll do a little more this weekend and preparation for the fairgrounds oaks She's really moving. Well happy with how she. She's training and You know i. I'm hopeful that you know she's gonna move forward Second race off the layoff She ran a big race off left just kind of unlucky to not get there and hopefully you know she'll be good tyson this next one any other. I'm trying to think is there any of the three year old fillies on path and coach both run in this weekend. Yeah they're both doing well son path. I really can't say a whole lot. Better last start just hoping it's one where we're going to draw a line through She's trying to extremely well Sense so Hoping to get her back on track this weekend at oaklawn and then coach Was second in the martha washington and you know. Hopefully you know. Get a little bit Better trip this time as opposed to our last race in the honey bee and she should be affected. She's very consistent. Honest feeling gives you a big effort. Every time you know speaking of phillies I just i just looked What's the schedule for on pearl amp pearl harbor. I three eighths this weekend You know we'll we'll talk it over with the owners you know she's doing really well. She's back in the fairgrounds She's been trying to well. Paul patter for a freshening. this winter and she really has developed physically and and looks great. So we're on the right track. As far as race goes probably a little early to say too much about where we'll end up but she she really Had a really good winter and she's ready to do a little more work this weekend. am obliged to ask It go was fourth in his last. Start what What what are you looking at next right. now he's in quarantine in chicago. Hill shift keeneland In the next Neck early next week. And you know we're just gonna You know just kinda let him down a little bit. He deserves it. We do a lot at very short period of time. Obviously and he deserves a freshener. And then you know we'll bring him back. And you know. I i would say you know late spring early summer You know you could probably think show up somewhere. Obviously he'll show up on the work that before that but you know. I think as long as he's done well you know maybe Churchill late church fill spring. Summer meet you could awfully seem show up or you know maybe somewhere up in new york to this summer. Very nice and A couple of more offbeat names for those. That didn't see australasia in in the louisiana bread premier race That that's obviously a very nice louisiana bread what's next Right now looking at the crescent city oaks. it's on louisiana derby day. I think it's the race that makes the most sense for her right now. it'll be opportunity to get her beyond beyond a mile to turns and You know she she was at she went on my lifetime delta but You know a little bit more longer strikes you know. Continue to You know let her stretch you out and we'll we'll see You know and then it's probably not gonna probably it's going to be awfully. She passed. That test will be open company next and we'll see fits. There's obviously been a Big collection of run. Happy's that Since the clock guy vis struck midnight on january first The three year old run happy's there are a lot nicer than two year. Old nappies kinetic sky brad eh. How much here what What what are your thoughts going forward with well You know we were. Fortunately we He's run three decent numbers Know i don't know what to make last men and off the turf race I think we're gonna get you know definitely a little bit more of a test here at This week He looks really good. He moving great. I'm real happy with the way he's been working. So you know this. This'll be a step up and hopefully in the right direction and not. We'll see. How goes you had to other maiden winters At fairgrounds to last week ten days ago give or take warrant and adventuring. yeah Both both really nice horses three year. The one obviously warrants a colt Was able to get it done going short and second to second Race he really got a lot especially when he's a big strong heavy colt that mentally It's gonna take a while to really probably catch on each definitely. Not a polish horse mentally. But he he's.

"You've got. I think you got the bad bobby and having it wasn't a bad bob but I i didn't know if we got there or not. But he had his nose now when he counted It worked out while the source showed us some run last fall And then giving us enough. He gave us an confidence to put him on a plane and go to california with him. Ranch it's a little bit flat out there and then we brought him back and Seven and a half. I think the first level allowances a seven and a half and it just was not enough ground for him that day and and he rebound well. The other day it was it was a nice race off the way off. He's a half the british hit him and one that obviously honestly doesn't care much for the dirt when training on it but he does take to the grass much better. Well a couple of other Let's touch on a couple of other State performers and get some updates and of course A a a fairly loaded wagon. Brad cox with us Give us some updates on manned lunar and caddo river about both are doing really well man to learn how to i. Work since the risen star this past weekend He'll have another. He'll he'll have work this weekend leading up to the louisiana derby Caddo river His last works at his been fantastic. He's pointing for the rebel He'll have another work this weekend. Fairgrounds and then shipped to oaklawn but couldn't really be asking either horse to do any better Kc rivers last two works. Expend really off the charts. I mean just really training well and you know showing us exactly what you wanna see when you're going to do running in a a great steak rice so He he obviously has experienced. Oaklawn worship him up week of the race and You know he. He's really an inspiring very happy with the way training and cheroots with them. Well you know that that's a question at some point Flaw is is is going to have to and and decision with caddo and mandolin right. Yeah well i certainly hope they do certainly make a decision and i hope it's a really hard one for him to make because That's really what you you know how you want it to work out. And you know we'll see you know Both are very colts. I honestly can't.

That outside trip seemed to be the thing this weekend here at oaklawn And see she definitely got the trip and was able to get up to win You know she's a nice philly. Arkansas breads definitely fits like a glove down here in this program and hopefully we can get another star too and career before the end of the mate well and of course She kicked off a sequence that Resulted in the seventy two. Twenty brad cox pick three. Yeah i worked out. Well finished it off with Race or race. They philly joe. See that's You know a long long long time between wins. I guess you'd say with her but she was. She was able to to get the job done first. Time around two turns She was impressive. And you know opened up a different. You know avenue for her you know she can take that next step forward and maybe you know being a good horse around two turns. Well you know and it's funny. I didn't really notice this until until now but this is sort of a combination race. They have isn't the klein That's the clients everyday country. That's not race day. Yes yes yes yes. I was going to say kind of a hybrid You know maybe a hybrid uh pod. Scenario train race day. Except here at oaklawn i wanna say one the oaklawn handicap the razor backer essex or yeah also back to fairgrounds for a second. "To know great shock or surprise mystic gathered will go to may dan and contest the world cup completely. You know completely logical you you completely. You can understand this decision by The godolphin team. I mean to have to have it worse like this. And when you when you're having 'field and mystic guide a both you know seemingly inform and and and highly prepared for top assignments. Had you not send at least one of them so Mystic guide is going to go and it pretty irresistible for for their organization can understand and of course they've got max field running saturday in the big gap so Both of their handicap division horses with the big opportunities and historic kinds of races. So happen to see that yesterday. And i you know. We talked to both men and jimmy fallon i. I won't say that that that steadham was reticent about going. I think he i think he kind of knew that that that was in the in the offing brian lynch. I want to get in. Because i lynch has done it again That phantom currency. I've not talked all that much about the mcdiarmid. And you know. Here's a another older horse that that brian has fashioned graded stakes success. And and he's a gelding so he's not going anywhere phantom currency but it's a nice win for jim and susan hill and this is a horse. I'm anxious to one of the reasons. I want bryant to kind of walk through this sources career a little bit. He's he's had an interesting development curve. the starting a short dirt and then trying very distances and opportunities on the grass and then even a try in the clark where he was You know the leslie priced. I mean he was hundred fifty to one but You know they took a shot Of a performance at churchill in october and Off the turf and you know in terms of distance and you know and and style. He's a front runner. And you try different things and you. You know as i kind of discussed a little bit with with shook About scarlet sky Yesterday you try different distances and the it seems like at the age of five and he's only this was only fourteenth start. Phantom currency seems to have found a niche. And this you know this middle long distance mile and three eighths of this case the feels like She's got them figured out so And then it's gonna you know from a mile and an eighth to a mile and three eighths me you know. See about a mile and a half. I don't think he has. He got a mile and a half. Yeah that came with last fall. He tried a mile and a half So it just. It's fun i. It's always fun to hear. Trainers perspectives on finding a niche for their horses. So we'll get a little. Brian lynch in here as well this morning. I've got I got lots of little tidbits to weave through as well including some of the some of the weekend news including contest. Gotta get gotta get those in Five qualifiers will go through those and as we Case maybe reach for. Go ahead and reach for For brad cox. He's got a perfect opening right now and We'll get him in. But as we do that. I got to mention this was on the desk for For a couple of days. And i feel badly because know i was a fan Senior bus cadore. He is he's not going to have a derby try and feel bad for the peacock's And for todd adventure. So he's got he's got a strain ligament strain so no no next. Try though rebel or such for procedure. Cadore dorfman i can tear up my my digital future wager as well except for those that have got essential quality future wagers. They're still feeling good. Brad cox giant joins us here and Brad nice weekend when you bring back champions and the they run to expectation and i guess you can exhale after essential quality and monoploy girl comeback successfully. "Raises with Steve. Becoming interviews this guy. boy. It's the day you dread. It's one of the one of the darkest days on the calendar. and. I I'm sure you have the same feeling. We're not exactly the same. I'm sure you know. Maybe you don't i. Yes, Saratoga del Mar.. Finished for the year but that's not why. That's not why it's such a difficult. It contributes. It's a difficult day that one of the toughest of the year because it's the first day of school and. That means that means I gotta get Tina Up. at six and six fifteen, you cannot possibly imagine the misery. That's involved I. It's. Honest to God I it's like having. Like having a teenager. Moaning and the. Fifteen more minutes. I mean come on. Having not raised having not raise the child of my own I. Guess I I guess I can live with. With this experience. I'm telling you. A. Then she screaming where's my coffee? But then by the time by the time, we got her out the door. She was she was moving. He was moving. You know who's moving smoothly. It's you know it's like an older gelding. That the ascend out there and the first time around you know kind of working out the kinks and stretch it out and. Shaking, the chicken, the shoulders, and then then nice and smooth the second. It'll take a couple of days. Serious to nineteen, except to award sports on night sixty four if you're listening to series Xm online and at our website as well well I indeed. Yesterday. Brings to a close. As Really As intense afford days. As I think we've ever really experienced, right Because there's never been anything like it. When you when you grafted? Oaks and Derby. Onto Labor Day weekend I I this was this was really. I mean you. You better have eaten your wheaties They have gotten through this and. By the time. The time those races were rolling around at the late races. Del Mar I had had enough I mean I was really. Little. Little frustrated by. The Saratoga Empire six the which was far from impossible but plenty. Plenty difficult. And twenty thousand dollars if you got through it. So. That you know that a deserving return we'll get to that I mean there's so much the yet to to get to. The. One of the more amazing stories. Yes. Just yesterday I. Mean I haven't even we haven't even waded through. That we got the little bit of the Guess we got a little bit of the Sunday stuff done yesterday with. with Mike Stadiums visit and and also with Baffert. He just listened to me I could have gone another half hour with Baffert but. Princess Noor, and Pixel late on. Sunday but. Really, the story of yesterday. As part of you know the traditional. Season Enders. At del Mar Saratoga, the to grade ones for the boys. I the hopeful. And then. In late later in the evening few turney. and. We'll talk about. Jackie's warrior was spectacular. I mean that that was jaw-dropping honestly the to just blow away. The of the other two major players and do it with such ease. That's what was stunning. And then. Dr Shovel which is a a kind of a bittersweet story and I probably we probably won't get to Louis Mendez. Today. But it was the last start for. Dr Shovel. In Mendez's barn. And Hammer. Has told you about Mendez and his ability to prepare young horses and and his really his. Hallmark is bread and butter. and. The the the horse is going to go to. Mark Latte. Now and the the by in what what you know the private. ACQUISITION FOR A. Controlling interest to Red Baron's barn and Rancho to Moscow. For Mendez. His first grade at stake would have any kind. He'd one other stakes in first grade stake win. And it's a great one. I made the no to that. You know he's he's only he's only been out training his name for three years but. First Horse that. Has Broken the hundred thousand dollar mark for him in earnings and. There's a lot of there's a lot of horsemen out there. We talk about this. There's a lot of operations that they're doing this. They're getting young horses together whether it's for clients or some that. Horses for whatever reason didn't necessarily sell through, and so you get them started and they draw the interest the and. That very good way to. Make a living and and. Then score actually so I I know some people were like, oh, it's too bad it. Yes and no I. mean it it yeah it's a little too bad but Mendez I'm sure just thrilled and we'll look forward to connecting with him. Not Maybe late today, but I would guess it's always tough the day after Saratoga and and del Mar rap Bob and then of course in Kentucky. There's the had there's the added wrinkle of the sale tomorrow and Thursday at phasing, and then of course, everybody getting ready for Keeneland next week. So there's all kinds of added mayhem and we'll talk to Brad. Cox. So we missed yesterday Brad's going to join us in exactly eight minutes right at nine fifteen We'll get fifteen minutes in with Brad Cox before he goes back to the sales grounds and continues to shop, and of course, you heard Baffert talk about it as well as they scout out. This crop of Eurlings. On that topic. Back to yesterday's headlining story. And it's. You know it's our. Our Sponsor Kentucky farm that. Hill and Dale. Is the story. Jackie's warrior by Maclean's music. Dr Chevelle by violence that's a remarkable double. As two. Stallions. Under twenty, five, thousand, each. Violence has had a spectacular year obviously. But for Maclean's music the very nice. Really a very nice. Score at at. A perfect the time leading into the sale and especially because. And then from a personal note. We've got. We've got the Mcclain's music that we're partnered up. With Dave Scanlon and Marty Shapiro that that Maclean's music we talked about it some odium and doing great at Belmont and preparing for a debut. So we've got a Mcclain's music's were excited and excited. From, that performance ninety fire by the way I. If you hadn't seen the number of this is a two year old posting a ninety five buyer it doing it. You know not that geared down means anything This is for the robinsons Kurkin Judy. Rogerson and. Wow I mean, just a UH. Literally A. Popping performance and in a lot of ways Dr. Shovels Win and. The horse BAFFERT's that Spielberg we ran good read. Good. But you could tell if you just heard if you just listen to Baffert just now you could tell he knew that he wasn't winning he he was very respectful and and and you can tell if the you know basically. Was Acquiescing to Dr Shovel, but Spielberg re nicely to be second but Dr Shovel clearly best and a.

"Right now. Obviously with everything that's going on. It's Kinda hard to to get a lot of people to pass gun. You know we will. You know my myself rose and Joey I know we all want to say thank you guys for everybody sweeping out. You know it's it's been overwhelming but it's really made all of us You know extremely grateful that we had you know John in our lives and that everybody got to experience. You know John. Because John was man he was a priest. Best Man Cameron Bathing. Thank you will see out all go so more more tribute from Cameron. Who had the the obvious pleasure and fun of having a rally gist continues? Going FORWARD IS A four year. Old was see watch for her to for her. I think last night we saw was the apple blossom. Let's stay right here because Brad Cox standing by and speaking of speaking of The distaff division. It got a boost and a welcome. A welcome return of monoploy girl on Saturday Brad. Congratulations Good Morning. Thanks first of all everything. Good Staff and everybody got back to got back to Louisville successfully and safely trivial good job of filed in box outfielder fairly quick. And it's been good so hopefully you know we got back to racing this weekend and hopefully Starting have back to normal. I guess well and nothing you know nothing like having you know condition book on your desk and you know looking ahead at the overnight and entering races and just you know having your mind occupied on on the day-to-day and luckily for everybody there was there was some continuity. At least for the you know the outfits like you know the position you were in from fairgrounds to John and basically been able to swing from vine divine to keep things going. Yeah for sure you know did a good job him up stable keeping things going forth and now on the Churchill and it sounds like we're going to New York shortly so I said it's been a slow process last few months but since we kinda right direction anyway before we talk about monoploy and also The upcoming opportunities and and some of the other stable stars and where you're thinking what? What is your status with New York? And where were those horses and you know how many how many were sheltering the at Belmont? And how many more did you send in? What's going on up there? We we kept about anywhere between I would say twenty and twenty five dying. The you know I'd say the shutdown period and I think right now we're up to like thirty At Belmont right now thirty maybe thirty. I think actually thirty two so Horses are starting to come back in young horses starting to file in and You know I it's it's somewhat normal. I've not had a chance to go up. I wanted to go late March but obviously decided against that. And you know. Go to start racing but Hopefully we have a condition book in the next few days and I think steak schedules being released in the next day or two so You know excited about getting getting things going up there and you know see what happens and then. Hopefully Saratoga gets rolling in July and we talked yesterday with both Joe Appelbaum with Pat McKenna and doing what they can to figure out getting Oklahoma Open as well and that would probably you know add to the influx of horseflesh How would you would you? Would you send it? Encampment up to the of enough overflow to set up to the Oklahoma probably.

"Was a couple of scratches in that race and and when they came in I just kept thinking this. This is a good thing And you can only be a good thing that this horse be able to break and establish leading. Shut off going up the backside and Anyway Sean did a good job. There's behind did a good job of getting hinder to relax Pick a breather up the backside and he ran. He's he always tries this horse. We claim this horses Saratoga A couple summers ago and and he's been with us while you he's just a really neat horse You know he's run a good bit but but he he's a very sound. Horsing shows up and runs hard and He's he's he's kind of a cool core. Seven the barn for sure Brad Cox. "We're back we're GONNA take as I said Cut the break. Short and dad gives us about a little under fifteen minutes to talk to Brad Cox and as I said at the top of the show Just one of those situations on Monday. That the any horsemen anybody related to the game Players included just Dreads and Tarez injured and then the decision made that she could not be saved and then everybody has to move forward and get to the afternoon's racing and and hopefully The results in the afternoon lifted. Everybody's spirits that included wells by you running very good second in the southwest and warriors charge with a powerhouse effort As well in the razorback Brad for everybody in the game to Garrett O'Rourke and Judd Organization And you and your staff Just so sorry about. Monday's misfortune. Yeah now is a tough day and You know a lot of you know tax and phone calls and you know People in the horse racing community that You know You know reached out mental. I really really did and You know for For just a short career three races I mean she's definitely established a huge fan base and I felt like I was a big Fan for sure and She's she's never be replaced. She was very special. And you know you just taught me. There's no speculation. I suppose that Is is worthwhile but I very big horse and I don't know as they say the the slow ones don't seem to get hurt As often anyway and I. There's no point in really speculating as to what might have gone wrong but there's anything that the You just you have to as you and I in fact exchange and on Monday you just you had racist to run and horses to take care of you know seconds after this occurred Thing I imagine. Warriors charge in particular his performance and the huge the huge Group from ten strike being there at the lift. Everybody's spirits for sure. I mean you know when obviously after stay focused and You know continue on and And we have a great crew in place you know. Said it was a tough day for everyone but We're able to get through the day and and You know want to get through the race card and it was. It was a good day at the races. Let's put it that way and talk about warriors charge and the the alert. There were a couple of alerts last week for at least for people. Listening to this show. Was Marcus Hirsch. Observing her at observing him at Fairgrounds and saying just how terrific. It looked like he was coming into the race and then we had marshal Graham during the Z. At Marshall was very excited although he couldn't be there There was a lot of indications that that this was going to be the start of what could be a very good Andy CAPP season for warriors charge. Yeah for sure. And that's the goal and you know when he came back last year from college last fall from college surgery he obviously never know how they're gonNA come back and obviously something like that you know we don't deal with that a lot And he he came back and I mean just showed. The brilliance showed in the spring last year maybe even more developed and gotten faster so You would need to facing horses that were moving forward older horses for the first time and he.

"I to me. She's a she's the right one but You know we've seen so many crazy things happen. And he's got a raise the day in and day out is though certain claiming six over grab. You went with wild about this and It's Rosa Parks Price with the seven pound bug tune-in. Yeah good it was also her first time to turns anywhere and it came to lay off in the bar and you know didn't win a race last year winless here at this beat Sometimes that's a little bit too. Yeah but the jacket a good you know. Twenty four percent win percentage last year. Get some weight so I can remember in second. That was my second pick but One of these races where you know the trip is probably going to Zyppah the outcome here. The POMPEII Horse Bull Dat Is a sole dat daughter. It's her first turf however sold that so far as a as a sire is is hitting it only four percent I turf and eleven percent overall so He he's not exactly throwing turf runners out of a holy bull mare and the purple haze home-bred and so if you're looking for surface which yeah exactly exactly Mike Big Help and Should give everybody a lot to work with going into tomorrow's pick five carry over two hundred thousand and the sequence starts at three thirty three easy to remember with the sixth race We will talk next week ahead of the Big Fountain of Youth Day Card. "All still in training. That that's pretty cool. Yeah that that's I mean that's it for us we've got we've got a real horse appeared the fairgrounds that I'm I'm very proud of I mean there's some you know I think three or four hundred one winners there and and Horses that have made a million dollars. You know. I think to be in that role you have to be a greatest stake winner or or Or one that would definitely think in the near future so we got a Mike collection horses very proud of them and you have to think the owners give us an opportunity with these these horses and think help for you know showing up every day and Working Harden Arden up in the position wearing well. We've got to ask The I can't say I was going to save some things but I guess I guess I just can't even do that. I was going to save a few comments and discussions for you. Know for down the road but Let me ask you about one St Sense Philly. I'm getting I'm getting requests for Brad Cox runners. When are we going to see nasty? Make her debut looking. I believe the fifteenth of February At the fairgrounds were twenty four right. Now what the the fifteenth Sorta dark kind of go from there. She may want a little more ground but she's training well he's pretty much ready to go and She's like I said around the fifteenth of February should be. Well I was going to save I I I see. I can't get out now I've got to ask you about Toronto is of course because She's the fastest horse in history of voice racing and people people are jumping out of their skin and she's going to win the Derby and I think the Martha Washington is circle back that that that's what that's what we're gonNA. We're GONNA Inner Wednesday for the Martha Washington and you know. Look one step at a time with her. This'll be your introduction that turns and you know I think it's the right move. She blessed with a lot of speed. And we're just hoping she can carry it carried around two turns we'll We'll find out more Saturday Extremely Nice Philly and you know the water trains. Three Wins in 4 Years Is a Record

"James Good Morning. Good Morning Steve. Thanks for having me on hope your weekend. Well it did. It did and I thought I saved I wrote I write down as many selections. It's always tough for Breeders Cup because then the paper gets all gets a little a little sloppy and sure enough here. I'm looking now and yeah I do have it. Actually there we go there we go home. You were a Vino guy and and bricks and mortar and and then spun to run so yeah your share of winners Too Key around I thought was on higher power. Though I didn't have you know I got you written down for Dino. I took higher power stirred Flavian Pratt. What's up on them? I'll tell you play the Heidi wrote one favorite Donna Duluth below she. The brewers Juke juvenile given up Phillies runner-up but he had a win. had four seconds and fourth earners. I thought that was a really a great performance by him and You know he has the Kentucky Derby win on his resume junkies like have that really just A good showcase for an upcoming star in our rank agreed and and I tweeted on Sunday. I've discussed this a couple of times this week. His record is stunning. And he's got people would say. Oh He's only got three wins. WHOA WHOA three wins? Thirty eight mounts and this is only his fourth year as fourth year riding his sixteen seventeen eighteen nineteen at-bats. Ah But another fourteen in the money finishes and then a handful of fourths and fifths I mean the percentage is frightening. I mean considering considering the level of competition really outstanding and he gives he gives every virtually every horse. If he's got horse to work with he gives them a chance. It's definitely and you know I mean I think Santa Anita and hosted the Breeders Cup eight times previously and and and he was writing a lot of california-based debased horses and one of my takeaways was definitely that this this year's Breeders Cup with completely unlike any out in California before I mean just uh-huh it just. It really started on Friday where the first four winners had all raised it Aqueduct Belmont and by the end of it I'm you know I'm looking at it it it. If you'd looked at the charts that Saturday at at Saratoga you wouldn't be surprised to see our ad or ts in four races Castellano and Rosario win into each and then Jose or ts Manny Frank Ricardo Santana All winner races well and Joe Bravo and that's what happened. They took twelve to fourteen races and and all twelve of those horses that race in New York this year now very strong on that on that front and ah not to say that Just had the conversation with Nick. Lock about the euro's and there were there were solid efforts and solid board hits in addition to Iridescence win but The you know the and there were solid performances from west coast sources to bell. Athena's Bella Fina. At under under certain circumstances dances might have won. The united almost looked like a winner hundred yards from the wire There were there were plenty of of solid performances from every region In some cases. Look at Vino. Vino having been into California. I think counselor a lot. You fold in folding would ask. Did you know getting there early with Matali Actually Navarro to I mean in Navarro got there early with a chance. A Lot A lot of times the a Lotta Times. The juvenile turf sprang can be like locally based sources can do all your top two in that race were both based in California with Peter Miller and you the one hundred and thirty five bucks. That's right that's right. That's right his second his second in the race in three years. I'm just looking at the list to spun to run from Philadelphia. So you get you get a a regional kind of a B.. Track player are sharing sharing holiday for new. New York's thunder run actually ran in a mate. Nice at act backer. And the winner but I mean the parks and mom Sharing base at Far Hills at far hell and Maryland bred. That's a couple of times Toga. Yeah yeah everybody everybody got their Lixin. Actually when you when you kind of go through this And I'll just say I I came away. I mean granted. I thought the four big stars coming into enforces with the serious horsey. Our aspirations Bricks Mourner Corner Sister Charlie and Matola two of the four one I think it really does come down horse a year two bricks and mortar and Matola Louis. But I'm giving the edge bricks mortar. I thought it was fantastic campaign. He had been a mile or previously. Before you know getting hurt and undergoing that surgery and I like the fact that Brad Cox I mean Brown ran him. You know he never ran he. Random and six different courses six different states. You went from Florida to Louisiana to Kentucky Hockey to New York to Illinois and the California To win a mile and a half for the first time in his career so to me. He's a deserving of the year well and and driving home the point about the mile and a half for people that because they always beat all the same types and didn't stretch himself then no he did and and you know the there was even people that were incredulous about him going the mile and a half so you know that that score extra points Without a doubt yeah definitely and you know to me One of the Mike Smith that made the point After a couple Oh. He ran second on a pair of privet favorites midnight zoo in Omaha Beach. And he's made the point that he'd right like those races back because it was hard to 'cause over that track track but to me it was more so that those horses were caned on the rail going into the first turn. Blue Prize was tenth early. You know tolley Holy Arosa could be five or six minutes off the pace. But they're jocks really at. That did a great job keeping them in the clear and I really thought midnight. These to you You know continue just to be in traffic through into the far turn. And when she got out she finished great as a case I mean they the great job on on TV and other highlighting it where I think of a blueprint. It's got the jump on her because of the trip the greed and it and it it also. It should be noted for people that are you know insisting that the track nobody could close well. WHOA that's not true? which is simply me? Just look at the chart for the distaff. What do you mean nobody could close at that? Just you know Omaha. Beach closed closed In in as well came from often and others whitmore made up. I mean it wasn't going to get to the winners and the the exact pair But he closed Idiom really had down below chicken that juvenile fillies and that's when the track was absolutely at its worst deepest pissed most impossible right based on based on the figure and in fact. It's funny because yesterday. Paul Matisse was talking about how difficult Friday was to make figures and then it was echoed by Jerry Brown on His On his experts board board. Somebody brought up. Paul's conversation and Jerry also echoed that the way the track changed from the you know the middle part of the day to by the time even the the juvenile boys ran so typically you would if the juvenile of the males run more than two seconds faster than the phillies. You'll get say their way better than the nose Philly but I do think it was. It was a track getting off faster later. And I. I'm I'm not down on British idiom or Donna Boise at all even though that right they came home. I think they should be still terrific runners. And you know it's it's hard to gauge coming out of the juvenile being real adobe guy Exactly what that means going forward so into court definitely Nice Horse Court Vision You know hasn't isn't had much success at Stud but he's bread You know fire. Classic types with that pedigree of his female family has a lot of stamina influences. It just doesn't have much class. You won't find any stakes winners really in that immediate female family well your final the final takeaways. My final take away so I just you know I you know I was. I thought you know it was a tragic end McGowan crew. I mean it was just a Really hurt to see that happy at the very end After a thirteen of the Breeders Cup races have that happened in the ashtray and and racing. Definitely I think has some issues and concerns going forward. the people in the industry maybe do a better job messaging but I still remain. Optimistic is the horserace fan about the future and I was. I came away like in the Breeders Cup. I thought there was some great performances and Looking for work once again the next year very good well. We're looking forward to the action this weekend give us some thoughts about Churchill had terrific card even today yesterday and Wednesday were good and of course the Commonwealth on Saturday the feature the Grade Three Mile and a sixteenth. The three year olds on the grass. It is an absolute war. Some thoughts about what's been going on while everybody was paying attention to Breeders Cup and and we got to look forward to this weekend. Yeah they had three stakes last week and In the MEA mischief flatmate go for the sale and and look good. She loves Churchill Downs Multiple Grade. One winner there in the Divine Queen got off to bad start. Art Never Fire in the In Saturday stakes chill Lewke and Sally's Kirwin breakers Swin She tried the Indiana Oaks folks earlier. This year didn't run good for Dale Romans. But she had one or last two allowance races by like about fifteen lenz combined and ran a rug. Good Rice debris greet Brian Cox's

"British idiom is you heard the call ridden by hobby or Castellano trained by Brad Cox who has been so good for so many years he is now trained one thousand two hundred eight winners in his career and that total includes those three victories that he had yesterday to Keelan one at Belmont Park but none none more special than that grade one Darlie Abe's win and Brad is with me now here on H. R. R. N. Brad Good Morning Congratulations. Thank you good good morning. How you guys doing things are good my friend. Dr You still kind of on a high after that big win. Absolutely they had several breezes this morning at your show just kind of wrapping things up yeah. That's that's a win. You definitely you know saver for a while. They're foreign feud between the great ones yeah. What's that light for a trainer when you show up to work. The next day is kind of like a victory lap around the race track where everybody's coming up and shaking your hand and congratulating you you know it's it's it's good. I mean you know it's it makes it easier to get up in the morning. I can tell you that when you you know just having good horses to look at watch them work watching breeze. He's checking the next day. F You know post race stuff like that so you know it's good horses which is get up every day and do this force. The you know have horses than move forward young horses Oaks Derby British Cup type horses what you're looking for so it definitely makes getting up a little easier. I promise you that yeah and you've been around so many good ones but certainly British. Idiom is looking being the part at this point in her career and let's remind people. This was only her second career start. She's now a perfect two for two after breaking her maiden at Saratoga back in the middle of August. It look back on that race from yesterday she she won very impressively very easily. Share your thoughts on the performance. I I mean it it. was you know to think he was going to go over and perform like that no way. I mean you know she. She just she just blew just spectacular performance and you know watching watching the race I mean broke with higher did a great job of keeping up in the race not necessarily on the League exactly what you like to see setting off a couple of horses a relatively you you know reasonable pace the backside. I think he was laying fourth and I looked at my sister and I said she's in a perfect spot. I mean she's got no excuse from here and then when she brings it up to the leaders eaters to three eighths. Kinda started looking at some of the horses behind us like I think she's got these in front of her when she's come up to fairly I think you can go buy these and then obviously I was kinda looking for perfect perfect alibi and szucs Philly and I saw so perfect alibi was kind of interesting you know if she responds when heavier ask this things over and she did and you know the only thing I told you can't tell the guy I don't give them any instructions at all jocks but the only thing I told him I said it's a short wire so don't don't you know short stretch. Yeah I wire so just when you turn for home ever position and he did just that she responded well. It was very very impressive race. Did you know this philly could be this good in this caliber when you first laid eyes on her no really well not when I first laid eyes on that yeah you have to go through several steps. You know obviously months and months of preparation to really get a line on we had this. Philly keeneland England then we moved into this summer and she was really stepping for stepping up and you know acting like she was a good horse we breeze brought her to Churchill with the intent of running her at Saratoga and Yep. We just left our church. I I can't remember exactly how it was about just her last work before she ran at Saratoga. was from the gate at Churchill she'll and thought you know this phillies going to be awfully tough at Saratoga auction race. We'd like to a lot so and you know come to find find out. It was like that morning. There was a buzz I was actually at Churchill today. She broke her maiden Air Togo but there was a little buzz kept hearing like you know they're stranded like horses turning like Susan. I like four or five of them in there and you know she. I think lots of times like you know I thought she would have been down a little more and she wasn't. I just think it was a you know a lot of people like horses in the race and the silly it was second obviously came back and broke her maiden. Belmont which was a positive You know just a couple of weeks ago so I uh I think it was even though it was restricted maiden race it was decent strong maiden races well so she received a big figure out of it to that. That was the one thing that Japan Academy Rag Number. You know a couple of days later and I thought you know she moves forward off that you know she's a she's a serious horse. She obviously did it. Just took us a while to get her back to the races we point for the Pocahontas and she the week before she breezed in the breeze was just okay and We've put a blood on her blood worker blitz count. Where's off a little bit so we just decided to skip the Pocahontas in point for talking with trainer Brag Cox Looking back on yesterday's big win in the grade. One DARLIE also vitek was British idiom. She is now punched her ticket to the Breeder's cup juvenile fillies which will be held at Santa Anita in Arcadia California about well one month from today. Hey we'll be breeders cup Saturday Brad. What do you do now over the next four weeks to make sure that she stays in peak form and she's ready to fire her best shot in the Breeders Cup. Well just you know as of right. Now you know I believe we have a plane scheduled to go out on Tuesday before so that's the twenty ninth we'll just go out then with whatever we have that's earn whatever earn their way to the Breeders Cup and you know just who works. I think you know nothing fancy. I mean you know she got a lot out of yesterday's yesterday's race being the second career start and you know just hoping she comes out of in good shape so far so good she scoped great. Last night looked good last night. Put her to bed and she looked at this morning. So you know Oh everything's positive with her will to this point and you know like I said we'll bring her back to Churchill worker twice and then off to California to before as long as everything goes well when you get an opportunity unity to maybe add a couple more grade wants to your resume later today you have Juliette Fox Trot going in the grade one first lady here at Keeneland and then you'll send out in the Joe Hirsch Turf Classic at Belmont Park. You'll send out arc low in there so let's start with Juliet Fox Trot. Tell me a little bit about her really Nice Philly. I mean it took a really tough being California. Last time we got was beaten by. I think the two thousand eighteen races and the silica so I mean I think right if the wires the only time she was in front on of us we got back in front of her past the wiring dot great really nice really think the world ever very very classy filly to deal with in just just real real nice philly that train them and just very straightforward. Does everything alleged WanNa see a horse do of the mornings and obviously the afternoons as well since she's been here in North America America and just amazing philly not real big. I mean she she's. She's a beautiful really beautiful. I- owner beautiful head up but it's not a big big philly typical. I think you know think cut back to a mile. I think is a I think she can do anything between a mile. Maybe even a mile and a quarter anything in there but I always like a horse that you know in a mile in eighth last time cutting back to the mile today. I think a positive that she drew well in the race. looks like on paper. There's speed I'm hoping she can kind of break settle kind of shut off a little bit going into the first turning up the backside and she does that she'll be. She'll be very very competitive today. I think a lot of this feeling. I think she she some you know. Hopefully can you know get some great one placing. Maybe hopefully a great one win and I think you know. I think the plan right now to raise their next year and I really think she's got had a big feature. You know it's interesting you talk about the mile and an eighth cutting back to a mile later on this afternoon and how much you like that move. I've heard other people talk about horses making that can't move to why can that be so successful. I guess it's just a fitness thing I mean I know. We've had the feeling training all year but it's a lot angles and racing that you know you. Can you know I. I sometimes like you know You don't even if a horse runs well on the dirt going to turf. It's almost like you trick them a little bit. You know it's it's and you know I. It just felt like you can have a little more confidence with your shortening horse up as opposed to stretching now now 'cause you know the further you go. I guess the unknown but you know she performed well at a model at Qinglin this spring so we know she can do it. She didn't really shut off and rate that well that day wish you would have you know relax a little more but it was a first start off a long layoff for a long time. I asked her to run a little bit earlier and she was just kind of on the go like I said from off burning fresh off the layoff but she she's moved forward and she responds to what the routers warrant They had three different jobs under this year. You know they've all got along with her. Well so I think for on obviously knows Schroeder twice before been able to get her. They're both times so hopefully like I said if she can get take a trip and relax a little bit early. She'll be tough yeah. You've had her for four starts now. In North America her first one as you alluded to is keen last April after she campaign in in her native Great Britain when you get a horse like that Brad that comes in from overseas.
