"Percent chance of death from the vaccine. They f- post vaccine. That means that your risk factors have dropped by a factor of about twenty. Vaccines are incredibly incredibly effective. But we are now supposed to. We're now told that that are are less effective which is a terrible pitch for people to get vaccine a so the this has led to a sort of box canyon for for a lotta the members left on the one hand they keep down the efficacy of the vaccine on the other hand. They want to force you to get the vaccine. Hey you don't have to force people to get the vaccine. If you just made clear. Effective vaccine is you wouldn't and if people chose to get unvaccinated and go about their daily business now it'd be their choice instead. You're got this box canyon. As i say of we are going to not give you any data data we give. You are going to be wrong half the time. We're at the dinner wrong. In the direction of saying that the vaccine is less effective rather than more effective and also. Now we have to force you. Get vaccines bill. Blasios comes in the idiot mayor of new york city. Jerry was explaining that it's time to mandate vaccinations. We've got to shape people at this point and say come on now. We tried voluntary. We could not have been more kind and compassionate country free testing everywhere you turn. Incentives friendly warm embrace. The voluntary phase is over. We can keep doing those things. I'm not saying shut it down. I'm saying voluntary alone doesn't work. It's time for mandates because it's the only way to protect our people or you could theoretically just say number one if you're vaccinated you're protected and number two you could stop lying about the vaccinated. Are the real veterans of transmission and the vaccinated like david. They've split the message and splitting the message. They've undermined their own. Trust and not only that have undermined confidence in the power. That accent in the first place. Nancy pelosi is doing the same thing she announced a mask mandate in the house again. Here's the thing i believe. Every democrat in the house has had the vaccine at this point. So i'm not sure exactly what she's worried about. But this is about control at this point when people when people don't give you the rationale for why they are doing what they are doing when they won't do the rationale for why you must follow their rules. That means that they are authoritarian. It is authoritarian nonsense. Here's nancy pelosi announcing that they were everybody in. The house is going to mask again. Everybody that again. The entire senate. Every single senator in the senate is vaccinated at this point. Every democrat in the house vaccinated believe most of republican house members are vaccinated. If they're not that's their problem. But here's nancy pelosi saying that she's going to mandate mask on the house floor again. Consistent with the newly updated guidance from the office of the attending felicia visitation related to the increased threat from the delta variant of the virus. The chair wishes to inform all members and staff that mask once again be required in the hall of the house members are reminded that under house resolution thirty eight. The sergeant at arms is authorized and directed to impose a fine against any member acting in violation of this policy. So they're gonna find people now. Get at this point. It is just about the control so having mccarthy said okay. Our guys aren't asking like what we're not doing that anymore. We're done tenancy. Police called the memorial on. Because this this is so much of this right now is about not convincing. People so much of this is not about getting vaccinated. It is not about restoring. People's freedoms is not about giving people freedom of choice and respecting them as individual human beings. It is about control and other ring and treating everybody who thinks differently than you as a bad person. The masks have have become a sign that you are a grade a student. You're the kid gets. The gold star in class is my friend. Pot ended the commentary magazine. Podcast for people who are wearing the mask at this point vaccinated particularly. This is just another sign that you had your to the regime that that knows best for you you listen to the quote unquote experts. But here's the thing. The experts don't present you data. They're not much not much kind of expert. And if they've shifted their position a thousand times based on the same data. They're not super expert are they. But here's nancy pelosi saying that anyone who won't mascot including the vaccinated. Some.

"It's not in the interest of the United States. And I think finally we have folks in congress that fee what professors socks was referencing that. It's so crazy. That's just crazy. And it is crazy. If you're listening Email over at media matters, quote me on that it's crazy to blame the United States for the slow rolling genocide of the poor in Venezuela. Socialism is to brain Medeiros gangster elite is to blame. Ugo Chuvash is to blame the Russians and the Chinese and the Iranians and the Cubans especially are to blame not the United States. If you can't see that. Boy, I don't think she wins reelection. I cannot wait for that. Reelection to come along. President Trump was on FOX business with Trish Regan yesterday. Cut number thirty three. I guess they wanna treat him differently than anybody else. And for many many years they've never done it. This way would bring in outside counsel or something. Then that's not the way, you know, you elect people they're supposed to be able to do their own talking. But he did a fantastic job today. I'm told I got to see some of it. He did a fantastic job. And it's all a big hoax. This whole thing with Russia turned out there is no collusion. There is no obstruction. You've covered it better than frankly, almost anybody if not anybody, but there was the whole thing is it just a terrible blot on our country. And when what represents but it was never obstruction. That was never collusion. He look at an soul just a political game. Now, tell you on the other side this planet to be talking about they covered. I heard very much with the struck and page and the insurance policy and all the things happened at a so terrible. So disgusting, frankly, Komi. That you look at all the Democrats say oh wanted to fire Comey until I fired him, you know, Schumer everyone of them. They I would say practically every one of them they wanted him out. And then as soon as I as soon as gone, they're all holier than thou. Oh, that's such a terrible thing to look. It's terrible. Yeah. I gotta tell you. The Democrats have walked into a box canyon and President Trump is not letting them out. He's not okay. I'll let you out and they continue. They started digging a hole to get out of the box canyon. And the first rule whole took over yesterday. They dug deeper and deeper and deeper and President Trump commented on the Senate committee yesterday, quite accurately. Cut number thirty four. Well, I haven't even heard that. I'm ridiculous. He's outstanding manny's outstanding legal mind. And and I heard he was really he performed incredibly well today. Kamala Harris for she was probably very nasty about these three people running for three of them not doing very well. But three of them running for a particular office. I think I may be talking to the person right now, they're running three of them running against me. They're up there ranting and raving. Lunatics frankly, and they're running and how is that fair? So you have Bill bar highly respected. Great attorney general, and he's gotta take the abuse from people that are running for office. They don't care about this. And I really think that the American people through it so easily Trish, so so easy to see through President Trump is exactly right. Everybody saw through that. That was a terrible day for Democrats yesterday. And I hope they have another one and Jerry Nadler, attempting staff Council Question and attorney general never happened never happened in the history of the United States. And he lied you. And he said, it's standard practice. He lied to Jerry Nadler, just live you CNN. Fact, check them be still my heart and found out. He was lying. Hey, let me close on a high note, we have got thousands and thousands and thousands of kids out there who need your help. They have a mom or a dad or both parents in jail in prison. And so they can't do the ordinary thing of of having mom or dad sent summer camper church camper, anywhere, but angel tree runs camps across the United States. Hundreds of them for the children's of prisoners was specially. Saying counselor. Some of them themselves understand what it is to have had a mom or dad in jail. And so it's a perfect place for these kids to go and every year in may, I ask you to join the fetchy. Mrs Hewitt, Nyein sponsor kid cost two hundred dollars. I know it's a lot of money. Maybe you're sending your own kids to camp. This is sort of like that that series at the fetching MRs Hewitt as hooked me on this is all right. These kids are you their kids are me their kids who need your help two hundred dollars, and you can go to Hewitt dot com and give a contribution of two hundred dollars at a kid's life will be changed you personally, and you may not see it in this life. You probably won't see it in like in that.

"Of courses at Hillsdale College. One of them is Hamilton the man in the musical. And that's King George thing in Hamilton. You know, we have direct democracy in Great Britain with a parliamentary system, and it's totally broken down. Adam carrington? Do people not connect those dots. No, I think that they again, overestimate human nature, and I think they underestimate the separation of powers because that's another thing. I think the part of parliament and English system. Don't have the separation of power system that we have. And I think that's to their detriment as well. Now, let's conclude our conversation this morning with can we actually win the argument? This is a very practical issue that I think would appeal to Hamilton and others the electoral college is easy to denounce it denounced repeatedly all day long on the liberal cable networks and on liberal social media because it is poorly. Understood is the argument capable of being one or should we hope the Democrats go into that box canyon and never emerged from it. I think it is winnable. Although I think it's gonna be hard because there is great power to the argument that the one with the most votes should win. But I think that we just have to constantly reinforce that the founders Bill a system that was built on what kind of what kind of goods do we want to result from the election process? Not merely that choices the beginning the alpha and omega of democracy. Good popular government involves ordering are choices in a healthy way. And I think that's the argument that we have to make now how much of this is related to President Trump's style. Peggy Noonan as a great piece in the Wall Street Journal today saying he didn't just blow up in the door. He blew it off the hinges, and he created jagged, edges, he grew. So big with such tough rhetoric, and such direct politics that it's really polarized all of American politics producing what she calls the mingles of congress representatives. Omar and Alexander Cosio Cortez. What do you make of that argument that Trump has really made this the central issue of the day? I think what's happened is partisanship has become so deep in defining in in the current era, and the reaction to President Trump has been a big part of this on the democrat side that they are willing to not see themselves the way Americans need to see themselves, which is on one hand. Yeah. You need to be a partisan you need to be on on a side that as best you understand it on the other hand, you need to be an American citizen and a dedicated to the constitution. And I think they've now decided that any means is as long as they see it as undermining the president and their opposition is fine. And I think that's not healthy for a Republic. It's not healthy for constitutional government. Well, the good news is we have term limits most they can go on for four more years, and then the reversion of the norm that always occurs in politics, and I do believe in the reversion of the norm. Our normal situation is the electoral college follows the popular vote. It's usually a very abnormal situation. In two thousand sixteen was one of the most abnormal situations ever, given the two leading party candidates. Just doesn't alarm me in terms of history. But changing the basic structure does it really does. But I don't think it's possible. So I don't know whether or not to worry about it last minute to you, Adam Carrington, I don't think you should worry about the system changing. I think we just need to worry about civic education to make sure that the people trust and have confidence in the system and don't check out. And that's the kind of stuff that we're trying to do at hillsdale both with our own students with and with others. And I appreciate that. You let Dr Arnn, and then me on this time on to do these kind of things because it's a great civic service to bolster good citizenship, which is the under the bulwark really to the greater concept of that the electoral college is trying to accomplish here, we got one more minute. Let me add this though, the breakdown of civics in secondary and June. Junior high education is complete. I mean, it's completely shattered. How do you rebuild that? We're trying to rebuild it here with our our charter school initiatives. Are we're trying to do it. With our online courses, we're trying to do it and other places are trying to do it by getting back into the public schools, and at least giving willing teachers tools to do. So, and I think it just has to be a large civic effort, and we're going to, you know, I know victory or defeat is ever completely assured. But we're we're going to either win or go down fighting on that front. Adam Carrington, professor at Hillsdale College of many many things..

"On President Trump's decision to reopen the government. I mean, this was a big cave. I think this is one of the biggest tactical defeats for the president that we've seen in his political life. He created this box canyon for himself. Nancy Pelosi let them walk right into it. And now he's trying desperately to see his way out of it. After watching on television this morning the havoc that a government shutdown. A protracted government shutdown can wreak on the nation's aviation system with all those flights being delayed and so forth in the northeast corridor. I think that was weighing very heavily on what was happening over here at the White House. But as you heard at the very end of the president's comments there he said that he is fully capable and prepare to shut down the government, again, if by February fifteenth, we don't see some sort of agreement to get that wall down on the border with Mexico. Is that gonna do that Jim Kosta tactical defeat for Trump? Box canyon loss in his whole political career has put a careers like four years old. Actually three. Yeah. The loss. Looking at all of the the television reports about the the problem with aviation. He was probably tuned in to some of the news reports of Texas where people are like, yes, that's safe to fly. You have people who are distract because they don't know where the list there's only been one pay period. And all of a sudden what what kind of shape was this country in the one pay period. Everything absolutely is on the brink of disaster. Jim acosta. Is talking about how the president. He's just you know, he's he's he's stuck on stupid. He's he just can't let go is like a dog with a bone. He can't let go of the wall. He he just can't give up on this wall. He just can't quit this wall. And I think that is why you're going to see very possibly the next three weeks this country right back where we were. We have been for the last thirty five days, which is perhaps in the middle of a government shutdown because the president can't seem to get his way on the one. See this is the what's incredible to me. You heard from Brooke Baldwin you heard from Dana bash. You heard from CNN, Jim Jim Acosta, all they could talk about was the government shutdown the government shutdown all by he saw how bad the government shutdown the government shutdown. Not once that they talk about what's happening on the border. This is what the president is up against. Then you get Chucky cheese humor. He jumps into the you know after the announcement here he rushes to the microphones. And this is what Chuck had to say. Once the president signs. The continuing resolution we in congress will roll up our sleeves and try to find some agreement on border security. We don't agree on some of the specifics abortive security, Democrats are firmly against the wall. But we agree on many things such as the need for drug inspection technology humanitarian aid, strengthening security at our ports of entry. And that bodes well for finding an eventual agreement the fact that we have so many areas where we can agree. Yeah. But he started out the conversation by saying Democrats are firmly against the wall. Democrats are of firmly against border security how well. It doesn't make sense because we have Chuck Schumer, and we have other Democrats on record. We have them on on video. We have them. It's all over the place where they were in for. In favor of a wall. What happened shot? Well, President Trump promised to ball and and President Trump came in. And he was determined to do what he you to. Fulfill this campaign promise. President Trump is not like other presidents who say, you know, give you the lip service like Obama give you the lip service like George W give you the lip service like Bill Clinton. But then don't do anything. That was too harsh on a George W Bush because he was building the fence down on the board. But when Obama was elected. Discontinued. Chuck schumer. But today, the president will sign the Bill to reopen the government along the outlines of what we have proposed. And hopefully, it means a lesson learned for the White House and for many of our Republican colleagues shutting down the government over policy difference is self defeating. Accomplishes nothing, but pain and suffering for the country and incurs an enormous political costs to the party shutting it down. We cannot cannot ever hold American workers hostage. Again. I love that holding American workers hostage. To Trump is like a like a terrorist. Of course, last shutdown before this phone was the Schumer shutdown. Remember that? I mean, this cat. He's just allowed to to get up and just lie. His assets off. It's really disturbing. But as bad as all that is that's the the media's reaction to today's events. There was something that happened a couple of days ago. They're just really just man may be very very upset very angry. And and that's how the Republicans responded to the president. How Republicans and this is why we can't have nice things because Republicans. Especially those who suffer from Trump derangement syndrome. We we have a we have a new one we have one who's just elected from Utah. He got early jump on bashing the the the the president. But what happened in the Senate to me is just just disturbing? We'll talk about that. At five twenty. Fourteen minutes after the hour..

"Zero three one. WG y. I work at probably I will do. The absolute right to do it. But I'm not going to do it so fast because this is something congress should do. President Trump changing course in a day on whether he is about to declare a national emergency and build a border wall on his own. And it's time now for our Sunday group, GOP strategist, Karl rove columnist for the hill, Juan Williams, former democratic congresswoman Jane Harman, director of the Woodrow Wilson center and Josh. Senator Mitch McConnell's former chief of staff will car let's start with the new wrinkle. This way can the president declare now shuttle emergency to build the wall. Should he declared a national emergency to build the wall? We'll look I'm not a lawyer, and I didn't stayed at a Holiday Inn express last night. So I'm not the expert on this. But I I have been paying careful attention to people who are David French in the national review head. I thought particularly penetrating article on this. He pointed out that the sections which the president would have to rely rely say the president can declared emergency quote requires the use of armed force. He can do military construction projects that are necessary to support that use of armed force that seems to me to not apply in this situation. The other statute that would be used says that the president can declared emergency the terminates projects quote, not essential to national defense and apply those monies to quote construct or assist in the construction maintenance repair. Of of. I just ask you what time it is. I don't wanna know. What's the answer? But bottom line is. I think the authority to do. So is is well he may he maybe you should do it in order to get us out of the box canyon. Because if he does do it it'll go to court and quickly. I think the courts will say you don't have the authority in. This instance, the administration in two thousand seventeen in two thousand eighteen is said on the record no terraced inner organization has sent people to the United States through Mexico so hard to declared a national security emergency. All right. We asked you for questions for the panel and on the president's fought about declaring a national emergency. We got this tweet from Greg angle by declaring a national emergency. Will this open the door for future future presidents to do the same over topics such as climate change, healthcare or even gun control laws because of mass shootings is this really a national emergency. Or judge fulfilling a campaign pledge congresswoman Harman, how do you answer, Greg? It's not a national emergency is fulfilling a campaign pledge. The wall is a prime. Will scream in your conversation with your very good conversation just before with Lindsey Graham, and Chris coons both of them made clear that there are ways that congress can make a deal that's the right answer. And he could if he chose to rouse a veto proof majority in the Senate to pass what the Senate passed in the last Senate, which is the collection of CR's, and then just leave one that would be the department of homeland security Bill with a shorter timeframe to negotiate have Lindsey and far as I'm concerned, Chris negotiate this, and they will come up with the list of things they just guessed it on TV which may be Trump will sign on whatever day, they actually come up with it. I love the fact that this is a fight between President Trump and Nancy Pelosi and poor Senator McConnell, you're probably setting out. There with your lovely wife.
