"So this is a growing virus outbreak might lack as much as long as eighteen months are you seeing those numbers could and then my second question is there some at least one White House official who use the term Kong flu referring to the fact that this virus started in China is that acceptable is it wrong are you worried that that have been described as being talked about as as Chinese buyers that that might who said that I'm not sure the person's name but would you can set it a person at the White House views the difference between flu my question is Hong Kong flu do you think using the term Chinese buyers put Asian Americans at risk I think they probably would agree with that a hundred percent it comes from China there's nothing that you really have a last question hi this is I heard later that he's going to stop saying the Chinese virus eight but one disappointing if you watch that and I did and I maybe I'm reading too far into it there was a small smirk on his face when she said he asked repeated common flu yeah well I'm not a normal person might giggle at that but not these outraged locals just for the record the west Nile virus number that named after the west Nile district of Uganda something called the Guinea worm named by European explorers for the Guinea coast of West Africa rocky mountain spotted fever discovered in Idaho Rocky Mountains Lyme disease discovered in Lyme Connecticut the Ross river fever found in the room right near the Ross river of Queensland Australia the a ball a hemorrhagic fever came from the bow river in Zaire Middle East respiratory syndrome first reported in Saudi Arabia all cases were linked to those who travel to the middle eastern peninsula valley fever came from the San Joaquin Valley of California the Marburg virus disease from Marburg Germany norovirus came from Norwalk Ohio nineteen sixty eight Zeke a fever from Zeca forest in Uganda Japanese encephalitis first case in Japan eighteen seven when the German measles that named after the German doctors and I can go on and on your right it's very bad timing well remember they need to cope with nineteen they said they did not want to assign it to a geographic region I kind of made that clear eyed that's the late age we live in with the vocals yeah well they did did somebody tell the Chinese not to blame the American soldiers who came to help we'll talk about this Washington times story that Chinese officials have not cracked down enough from these live animal markets which may have led to the beginning of the coronavirus Johnny can't.

He was amazing he was and then we ended up pouring beer on on each other's head and shooting catch up in each other's face at one point. I cornered you and then told you every one of the songs that you'd ever written in Iron Maiden. Oh Wow you're like yeah I know I know what song just reaffirming it. Exactly you. You last couple of questions for Adrian. It'll you've been on on a long tour. Do Love Fishing. Do you still get a chance to go fishing under days off once in a while I do as a matter of fact. Yeah and So doing that and Yeah the music fishing but see. That's the cool thing is is that we know how it is when you have days off and if you're just sitting around doing nothing you're just wasting a day and it's the worst feeling in in the world so some guys like all things. Some guys like to go sightseeing but to have that fishing outlet. That's probably a probably helps. You stay sane on the road. Yeah saw want me to do like say you know. Kiss your gets your air. Go gone went on a huge jet boat We go into these surge and these things are over one hundred pounds wow fi in the stojan arms literally hanging off king on a so. I'm not going to be out of play the show it is that one of those things where you have to strap yourself in and like slowly reel it in over the course of like an hour or two hours hours or something like that. Well we hope Senate this thing and go I'd put one of those Fighting Harnesses on me. It didn't quite strap me in. But you know you you stick a road in a in a sort of a harness that strapped to you then he just sat down and started rolling a cigarette. Like you know the Russia's GonNa take a while Oh you know so yeah those things you know. I don't think I even know what's going on. They so big they just kind of just keep going and you have to follow him. You know right right right. Because that's what they say like you know the lock. This monster could be a sturge in giant sturgeon or something like that because it's slow right last question. "It wasn't really Jones they wanted a review initially saying no than saying yes I think you got it right we a lot of stuff to talk about onside kicks their car going tosses a busy day for my prayer now normally joins a ten thirty made a lot of stuff going on today's we got him in ten fifteen make sure you follow me on Twitter at my prayer any judges courtesy of the my guess I hi Mike how you guys doing just listening to that they were so mad at me I mean I was at the in Dallas of doing the rams cowboys game and and the time frame of the two games of the same at the end and so I'm not paying attention or cowboys game I'm I'm watching the forty niner games yeah my producers yell at me pay attention our game I can't I should the miners this but this is the game and then then there's a there's a review is a big tent I don't know you know I mean it was not so not so so so what's your take on the Hooper play and Julio play Mikey well the the first one to me I looked at that one about man I'm not sure that there's enough to overturn it because you know these gloves now the ball's kicked to the gloves it seems so he's got firm grip so you have a firm grip on the ball the ball hits the ground but Dan member comes off the ball to ask till after he lifted it off of the ground and then it came loose so I I thought actually they might stay with that one it's one of those one of those that's really close at and I think being by the you know so if you look at it real time I'm not sure what real time does in terms of a ball coming loose after it hits the ground but you know I I about one to me he was a little bit more if the when it comes to overturn then the second one was because of the second one the wall does break the plane and he's in contact with a defender so there there's no question though that was the right that was the right over overturned so let me just go back to the first one so if if you're there do you because it was called the test on the field do you keep it a test on the field if if your officiating the game I think I probably do I mean I I know that to being camisetas close is close because I could read his lips and but then he fell off like that the you know when I want you to give her I watch on the plane actually on the way here to LA this morning and he eventually said that he liked is incomplete I like it is incomplete but I'm not sure I would have reversed it just on the basis of the fact that they actually called it a touchdown because it's just the issue of control if you have control first and then the ball hits the ground and you maintain control then it's a touchdown and if there is a second act after you hit the ground and the ball comes loose after that like in this case which he lifted up I think that's enough to stay with the call I think it's one of those that sold incredibly close you know but bow river ons decision in New York and and I think you know I think he's okay with making a but I don't think I would of so just wild endings Mike in a back to back plays to go to riverrun in New York and you know it one point at you know if it was all done I referred to al as the most important person in the NFL because she decides who's going to win or lose games ed and I you know he's obviously credible he's qualified but proceeding forward how do you think this position of all first of all is they'll stay in his role with all the controversy there and I've heard an idea about opening it up words not one person making the call he's probably got a number of people around him in the room look at the video and giving a council but he is you know he is the judge at the end there there may be a go to a three person panel to make the ruling so how do you see that role evolving in the future well I don't see it staying as it is right now and excuse me and I don't I don't think al should be the ones making the decision he got one other guy with them right so you're but that he consults with on plays and I just think it's wrong to have a high ranking league executive making decisions on who wins or loses games I mean there is a reason why for example a crew can't see IT team more than twice because you don't want any familiarity between the officials and like in the clubs well you know al has to deal with the coaches during the week he has to deal with the G. M.'s during the week and I don't think he should be the one making those decisions I think what they ought to do if they continue to review pass interference especially is bring a couple of guys in that are your best replay officials you know that are actually with a crew now bring them and let them make the decisions and do not make it more than two because if you make it more than two yeah we're going to sit there and then two guys are gonna say yeah I think it it is in the one guy because I don't think it is and then you're going to have this this you know disagreement which you know maybe take the whole process to another step in terms of time I would maximize it at two but I do think that they need to bring somebody in from the actual replay crew now that they have on site at the game and do it that way but let's just say this to when it comes to the interference I hope they dump it I hope they don't get involved in that and and get to the point where you have to challenge your have to review whether or not it is interference with you have to add it or take it off it's too subjective it's created too many headaches and we know it was a one year one year experiments which is sent so essentially means that in order to get it back yeah I'm in its current form there's going to have to be twenty four votes to get it back in out of the thirty two and I just don't think that that will be there my person is by the way we had John Terry on on the ESPN show last night and he thinks they're going to tweak it but he thinks they're gonna keep it and I was shocked because I I know you've said this a couple of times two is that that you think it's gonna be one and done but he thinks it's gonna stay beget tweak you play in we saw yesterday some obvious mistakes like the face mask that was called in the game last night where there was nothing even around the face it was a that would that was a true phantom and then a huge grew up with the raider game when they actually ruled that Derek Carr went out of bounds and stop the clock with two minutes and five seconds to go in the game a horrible mistake that you know to me one of those that could be corrected really easy if you have any additional official you know who could chime on down and and correct those things yeah we were already checks and about that this morning my going to make sure you saw that play in the raiders were assessed a delay of game penalty and the two minute warning so I think that indirectly cost in the game but you already answered that for me yeah use pop pop let me just say this you know I think the officiating is gone so much younger and I don't know if that's a good thing or not some of these mistakes have been have have been you know made by some of the young guys but like you're talking about a twenty year guy that made this call that killed the clock and you know I actually went to bed last night thinking like if I was still ahead of the program what would I do I mean I would call this guy and say how do you explain to me how a twenty year official can take a sip who's been a line of scrimmage official all his life in Lee how can you get a frozen rain and do something like that which you know can have an outcome of the game it's it's very frustrating for fans and for coaches and for X. heads of official who by the way I I know I know Jon Gruden is not happy with it and I think it did it impact the game just state the the opening kickoff of the second half young way cool on the onside kick and he's really good at I saw pulled off three against New Orleans on thanksgiving night one was not a fight because they were off sides this time they they only had ten players on the field you can't overload to one side but they were down a man they had for the left and they had five to the right legal formation was the call Mike is that the right ruling on that play eight you know I saw that on Twitter I didn't see the play but I saw it on Twitter and and the rule states and it's very interesting and I'm not sure I would have thought about this initially but the rule clearly states that you have to have five guys on either side of the kicker and you know we can't be foreign six can't be four and five a yes so it's it I used to say look at I I thought you could kick off with just one guy but it I don't the rule doesn't say that you have to have a Levin people on the field and they have to be five and five it just says that they have to be five and five five on either side of the kicker so that it's certainly against the intent of the rule that's for sure but I think it's one of those tweaks that maybe the league will look at the in the off season and say wait a minute let's take a look at this and if if you have to be five and five if you have a lemon I mean maybe it says if you give it stand then you could be you know four and five but you gotta yet yet I'm sorry but it but it doesn't the way it is right now it's clearly a file I real quick in your game the coin toss controversy from yesterday sermons had issues with this but it don't guys know by now that the only word that need to come out of your mouth is we defer to the second half right is not just for you so you would certainly think so and if the that turned out to be a mass and I think it's still a mess because you know I was told after it happened that you know New York was not going to get involved in that but they were not give a call at halftime but them in fact they did it is not reviewable I don't care what they say in terms of game administration game administration is penalty enforcement down and clock I mean those are the the main issues it doesn't say the toss prior to the game I mean the only other replay responsibility prior to the game it's specific that they could get involved if there's a fight and could you know could actually E. ject players but nothing about the cost I think it was not well handled by Dallas and back in those guys and it was not well handled by Walt Anderson I mean well damn is another go it's been around forever this could be his last year with the team says kick we want to kick the first thing you do is a way to minute now do you understand what you're saying and first explain to them that they're gonna then give up the ball for both halves and so it was poorly handled and I think the league you know somehow tried to figure out a way to make it right which I think people were satisfied with generally maybe except for Sean McVay you know but it was that's that's a horrible way to start a game that was weird Mike a lot of stuff to go through that thanks so much for Tucker said we'll talk to next week you got it I during our Mike you're really looks a former VP of efficient as a great job with fox it was weird that the game yesterday at Mike for a make sure you find one Twitter arteries we had Mikey on a little bit early was Rick welts is going to join us president and CEO of the workers the workers were just name team of the decade we'll get into that plus what's going on with the warriors in the in the kind of season what's going on with that stuff will do with him next only on the.

"Played a ball. If I have been indifferent to him and his hands off and I hit him. Oh. The refs say like a low-key with a tip. Okay. They could have run out the clock. A saints fans. I'm sorry. But it is what it is. Incomplete respect to call. You can't you can't blame him. If you're. Jack. If the official on the fields that the ball was tipped where that was that. Both the ball was the ball was ten was absolute mess. Throws that breeze made all day, lawyers, water balls all over the place. It was a great throw. And and Koby Roby Colby. Did not he jacked up Lewis. He didn't just hit him. He do he lit him up. He turned Lewis inside out. And then if you look at it again, I'm looking at it right now, there's definitely some helmet-to-helmet. I don't know if it is a helmet the helmet, but you could've called NFL told it should have been helmet-to-helmet two penalties. Either helmet-to-helmet hit or the pass interference blatancy of the is. There is some slight helmet. The hell look how far away we'll watch the video right now. But those of help on radio but following a ball is due. Barrington as he is utterly and completely embarrassing. You know to wear on Twitter late last night blandino is talking about the changing and we'll get to the overtime rules change in the overtime rules. And you know, I retweeted I quoted that three in return. The NFL's got bigger official bigger overtime rules after what transpired yesterday. I would worry about the OT rules debating that after the embarrassment that was down in New Orleans as the same fan should have been celebrating yesterday, data bourbon street enjoying themselves. Right. And unfortunately, they're angry. They're ticked off their bothered. They don't wanna know part of the NFL because guys aren't doing their job this week. Season where you're getting some guy that just got called up called big twelve football. This is the NFC championship. Have one official telling aerobic Coleman on the field. The ball was tipped right? The other essential salad Peyton that they arrived simultaneously. And then you got the dopey bow river odd paid after the coach. We blow it we blow it to penalties called other play not one, but two utterly embarrassing for the NFL. It was just, you know, really. And and no matter where you go today you're going to hear about this play. If you follow any kind of sports, and you should because it was really embarrassing for NFL officiating. What happened? I mean. The miss calls happen all the time. And it's all year, we know that. But to your point moves in this moment. Big of a game. And like you said on holding. That's not like blocking in the back on a punt return. This is pretty important. Besides the game that decides the game, and I get the saints could have gotten a stop on the Rams, and you don't have to have the airline what forty seven yard field goal that tied at the end of regulation. I get that they had the lead after the field goal late in the fourth quarter. But if that is called properly the game is over the saints March on here's Sean Payton, the New Orleans head coach. It was simple. They blew the call who said should never not been a call. They said not only was interference. That was helmet-to-helmet to call. They just couldn't.

It will be New England and the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl fifty three because see all the action, obviously on CBS and allots unpack with the two games yesterday as a championship Sunday might be the best I've ever witnessed in in all in all my time. Watching the the National Football League. That was a pretty special day TASR is two games. Go to overtime a lot of controversy which could bring about change in the National Football League. We'll get into that. What's going on brother? Good. Good. Good. Yeah. Definitely digging. Now, the right there. Entertainment. And there's the first word that jumps out besides the awesome athleticism by all four teams and all men on those teams. I have a feeling we'll get into the officiating a little bit. And and the NFL general, but yeah, very very entertaining game yesterday. Awesome stuff. And it'd be tough to argue. I think those might be I mean, the best AFC NFC games I've seen too. I mean, it was it was it was a a lot of fun. I don't want the end. There was a lot of ups and downs. But a lot of fun. Yeah. In combination. I mean, there've been better games overall. But certainly in combination when you sit down and he start watching three zero five eastern time. It ends, you know, right shortly after what, you know, ten o'clock seven hours of a football all over the place and was very very entertaining. Very fun. And I that's the lead in terms of the officiating as you heard the call from Zach Streep, and and the New Orleans Saints as they're never gonna get over. What transpired yesterday for New Orleans who their season came to an end last year on the Minnesota miracle now comes through on a no call on. What was a combination? Whether it be pass interference or a helmet head. To helmet hit it. Oh, you know late night game in which you have a scenario where it's a third and ten play their, you know, inside the Rams fourteen yard line right about the thirteen. Drew brees. Lays it out there. Perfectly for what Tommy Lee Smith in. And he's running down the right sideline. Looking like he's going to get the football right in stride, and the Brody Coleman basically declared him before the ball arrives there. And no penalty is cold. And then you have the ensuing eruption from Sean Payton on the sideline. And then the explanation afterward. Listen, I I get New Orleans cost themselves the game in terms of the first downplay designed to throw and not run and not using the clock and that stage, and I get they have the ball to be get overtime. But at that at that point the game should be over regardless of what happened on first down. You know, you would never have gotten to overtime if that's a properly cold play by the officials on the field. That's the first avenue. Orleans inside the inside the Rams five yard line. And they're able then at that stage to milk the clock and basically kicked the game winning field goal ended. Oh, absolutely. I mean that was completely massive blown call, and you know. Besides besides the face, and you know, got never played the ball be calm. And and and the hell with the helmet that was just penalty to penalties right there. And completely blown call in a really epic important huge moment for these two great NFC teams, especially the Rams who the victim of the bad blown call. And it's it sucks at subsidy. If you're if you're a saints fan today, if you're a policies organization or former Saint whatever I mean, it's tough. This is this is tough to swallow. You don't move strike. You know, you never it's tough to say a game is the silo comes down to one play. There's a bunch of place the game that, you know, give people a lead or momentum momentum. We'll give a team, you know, an advantage. But this was a situation with you're you're exactly right. I mean if the saints after right, call is called the saints data. Just take a niece. Drew Brees is dropped her. Knee killing the clock games off move on. That didn't happen. I mean run the ball night kicked the game winning field goal rush. At that stage. Twenty would have ended the game twenty three twenty final New Orleans would have been victorious. But it and I don't want to hear an apology for bow river on. I don't want to hear an apology from the National Football League yellow you talk about bringing about change you've invest enough time and effort we've all invested in the National Football League season. Some people have decided to invest in the game as well. The games gotta be called properly. We began this NFL season. Where you couldn't eat the quarterback. He couldn't touch the quarterback all the helmets element. It's everything that was called. And then you're watching these games. That's fine. We're guys are being physical down the football field where there are borderline helmet-to-helmet hits. That are not being called where the quarterback is being hit and at times mysteriously not being hit. And they're calling roughing the passer as we saw in the cheese. Here that momentarily, but but as a apology doesn't do anything I mean, it's not going to do anything for New Orleans. It's academic anything for drew Brees because the saints should be marching to Atlanta and Super Bowl fifty three. And they are not and they got screwed over. That's it. So I'll river odd can take the phone call Sean Payton now, it's a matter of bringing about change. So we do not have this situation. Aguirre from now because that's the fear because the officiating with all the retirements has gotten progressively worse. It was embarrassingly bad in the regular season. And you have no call yesterday in essence decide the NFC championship game. And I don't wanna hear anybody. Tell me that it didn't it did. Because I heard a CBS sports bay telling me that the saints lost that game fair and square that's complete and utter nonsense. They didn't if that game is com- if that game is called properly if that game is called properly this saints are marching to Super Bowl fifty three in Orleans is the NFC champ. So that's the problem. I have and it has nothing to do with. The fact that you and I both pick the same Friday the March on it's a case of it is frustrating to watch a game in which you watch inept officiating decide the game. Yeah. At this point. Oh, yeah. You're right. At this point. Why does this still happening? It's been a plethora of complaints from players cultures people in the media that that that that hosts radio shows like you, and I are host TV shows. I mean people have played the game coached in the game. And you hear it nonstop. But yet you see these blatant screw ups like this complete blatant wear the head coach, Sean Payton of the saints. He gets a phone call. From the league after his devastating squad is devastated. And this fanbase is devastated. Devastated saying, yeah. You know, screwed up our announce bad. You know, we messed up. You're right though. I take the apology and stick it. Right. Who really at this point get it? Right. There's enough of these men that are wearing striped shirts on the field that could have figured this out does play. It was very obvious. It was such booths. You sorta play the guy did everybody out there listening right now sort of play and listen you and I both picked the Rams who von we're both Iraq. Sorry. The saints. I wanted the Rams to win. But I thought the saints win, and you and I both ruin agreement on that. To me. I mean, I got no dog in the fight. Just like you don't. But the thing is like this is this was so so blatant of not one but two a penalty. We call and you can deal with you can deal with you know, you get beat you get out executed. The team comes out and blitzes. You you weren't as good. It's a disappointing end. But you deal with a game yesterday. And that's where it's going to bring about change. That's where the competition committee has got to go back to we look challenges. There's got to be at least a challenge a game for a for a head coach on the sideline able challenger. Well, not just out of penalty. Yeah. I mean to be able to challenge a penalty on the field or on a call or a no call past. But there has got to be. There has got to be now change brought to the National Football League. Because yesterday as good as championships Sunday was was an utter and complete embarrassment for the National Football League. Is you have a team now representing the NFC that should not be representing the NFC? And that's the problem because a guy on the field or a group of individuals on their feet on the field did not do their job properly. And this is not the list. That's not the see list. This is the NFC championship game. Right. So this is a group that graded out properly in the regular season that completely blew the call and for the National Football League. That was a sleepless night last night because as we have the up in won't be much this week. But as everyone heads to Atlanta and there's radio row and he'd get ready for Super Bowl fifty three. And they're going to bring back the former Rams and people in Los Angeles and everyone's start celebrating. This. The fact remains is the New Orleans Saints should be represented the NFC. It should not be the Los Angeles Rams. It should be the saints. If guys did their job properly. We always talk about do your job. Do your job. Do your job. Do your job guys on the field. Yesterday did not do their job. So an apology from our river on does not do anything. Now, the NFL has basically take the ineptitude out of the officials hands on the field and give the coaches now even more responsibility to where now they can challenge calls and plays on the field. That's the only way to go. Now you have to embrace now even more instant replay. And even more delays be as simple call staff because that is as bad of a blown call as you'll see this is not this is not a holding is not a is not a chop block. This is as blatant a blown call as I have ever seen in my life in a big time spot that I've ever seen in my life. That was so obvious so obvious you only have to be an NFL fan. It could have been two calls. It could have been passed interference. How how Mattel MacAulay it could've been contact down the field? They're basically telling you that he hit them simultaneously. That's what the officials told pain at the time that he hit them simultaneously as the ball. Rod. That's not true at all. The ball was and the ball was. Give it a yardage. It had to be fifteen twenty yards away from you know, when ROY hit the receiver. I mean, it was the only thing I will say, I understand everything you're saying, and I and I respect every your commentary, and you're passionate on it. And and you're right. You're right only I will say on. And you know, this you've seen this all your years being a sports fan and someone who's covered the sport at the highest level. So you wanna stay right. We've seen the so much moosehead, you know, maybe not this blatant. But in not just football in in a plethora pro spots where blown calls happen. And sometimes you the hammer sometimes you to now in this case, you know, the saints. You know, they now I mean, they got they got screwed and they got screwed bed. Yeah. I can't you know, what Taza I get that. I understand that calls. I get it. But that is that is ineptitude. That's an aptitude. That's that's not happening understand that is that is that is wide open. They're the only two players on that side of the field. That's easy. Yeah. That's the that is an easy call that is not a difficult. Call to make that is a head check past five yard line. That is an easy call to make and they blew the call. So I if I'm a Saint fan, I am.

"The entire sequence was faked using a handful of lemmings deceptively photograph to create the allusion of a large herd of migrating creatures. It was this film that perpetuated the myth and popular culture of lemming suicide something that's never been reported to have occurred in real life. Do they actually kill these lemmings? I don't know. I don't know if that's in the rest of this. So I am I found the top ten analysts on the animal planet and the number. One is do lemmings commit suicide, and what they stay on the animal planet is lemmings earned the top spot of myth because the misconceptions about these creatures are both legendary and long standing starting back in fifteen thirties when a geographer propose that they fell from the skies during storms these days, the most popular rumor is that lemmings commit mass suicide when they migrate, but the truth is much less dramatic every three or four years their population drops near extinction only to skyrocket again. But the ebb and flow is a result of migration in large groups, which can include jumping off cliffs into water in swimming, great distances to the point of exhaustion, even death. The malls the myth also fueled by the nineteen fifty eight Academy Award winning documentary show that lemmings leaping to their deaths. But the is later busted for being staged myth verdict. Is that it's false. They don't create. So I guess like from mine patients that you do get some as their migrating going off of clips in swimming in water. But not to these like mass, ROY quantities. They're just migrating and they happen to end up m sure some go into rivers in smaller bodies of water and probably can swim across in her fine. Right. There's going to be some who like their way. Like literally makes it seem like every single one of them except for like, maybe I don't know twenty stay behind and all the rest going just like jump into the ocean. Yeah. I mean when I saw that. I was like oh my God. I can't believe this is real life. Well, it's not so everybody when you watch when you're watching it you think it must be. Yeah. Because you trust that. It's right. Yeah. I've worn so many cool facts from these true life adventures, which is why I love them so much never doubted it. Yeah. And to I love animals, like when we learned about the bees in the one thousand so cool. So in nineteen eighty two there was a CV CBC television news magazine program called the fifth estate, and they broadcast documentary about animal cruelty in Hollywood called cruel camera, and they focused on white wilderness as well as some other shows. As well as another show called wild wild kingdom. So the host of the CBC program. Discover that the lemming scene was not in the Arctic Ocean. It was actually at the bow river near downtown Calgary. So he interviewed a lemming expert who said yet, the lemming shown in the film is not known to migrate at all. As stuff said much, less commit mass suicide. He also revealed that footage of a polar bear cub falling down an Arctic ice slope was really filmed in Calgary film studio. This movie is fake all over the place. So even that makes me sad because that was like one of my favorite scenes, and they go down the hill..

"So in downtown Calgary, they're building a park that looks like the glacier that we're protecting and all the movement and melting and everything is translated to lights and sounds to that park. So people will end up seeing that that glacier's melting over and and the reason why the people of Calgary cares because that glaciers named the Boglay Scher the Boglay Scher feeds the bow river, which ultimately flows right through Calgary. So once that glacier melts, it's going to impact that people there because they're going to have a dry river now it's not gonna flow anymore. So imagine a sleek modern building in downtown Calgary. A series of vertical light tubes display, almost like an EKG of glacier shifts and cracks and pops and movement. While all these ambient sounds play in a line of speakers nearby without context, you just like walk through me like, oh, this trippy with context, knowing that this glacier is melting in real time at an alarming rate. You're like, once Eck while I sing to my knees and Horsely cry into my scarf as one does. So what happens when people see? Oh shit, our glacier's melting. Like does that mean that different legislation gets put in place? Is that mean like what? What practical things do they do to be like, we're going to save this glacier. Yeah, I mean, part of what we like to do with its two ways. One is when we collect this sort of data like like glacier data or other types of animal data, we always go to work with the governments who are involved with it to show them. This is this is what's happening real time and allow them to use that data doodoo something good. But we also like to. I put it online for people to see because if people see this kind of ever for information get excited about it, that can lead to additional pressure that can you know, try and force the government to do what's right when it comes to that sort of thing. And so those are the two pronged approach. We like to take on things. And then tell me about some other technologies. Guess. So another technology that we're we're working on right now is GPS tracking of animals. So a lot of scientists they like to put these tags on animals to understand where animals are going it. The great thing about putting tag like that on an animal is that once the researchers leave, then the animal starts acting actually how the animal acts when people aren't around. It's like when you bid your lover at you for the day. And then once in solitude, you can finally fart and we could start to learn some really interesting things about them. Researchers have been tagging animals for a very long time, but the tags that they use are made by just a handful of companies and they're very expensive. I have one over here that if you wanted to buy, it would cost you five thousand dollars to yet. He's the radio callers like you see on 'Pumas and they're very huge and they have like a big tennis sticking out. Yeah. Yeah. I mean th the one I have is not is not very huge. It's pretty small, but it does have a big antenna sticking out of it. And yeah, that's exactly what they are now. They're made their, they cost five thousand dollars because they're just made. By a handful of companies that have kind of cornered the market. But the amazing thing is we could use that same technology that we use for other reasons, the smartphone technology, and the make technology to create low cost versions of these open source version. So we've been working with some other collaborators that are also in the conservation technology space to develop these sorts of tags. Suicide. Note later this year Shaw is just casually heading to Belize and Arctic to tag sharks and sperm whales just in case you need like a dream job for.
