Rep. Rashida Tlaib - Who Earns $174,000 - Wants Taxpayers to Pay off Her Student Loans

"Rashida Tlaib, talking about student loan forgiveness, which is a top priority, a demand of the American left, listen to her. I worked full-time Monday through Friday and took weekend classes to get my law degree, and still close to $200,000 in debt. And I still over $70,000. If most of it was interest most of it was our own government making money and profit off of me. And guess what, I didn't go to the for profit entities. I went to legal aid. I worked at the nonprofit organization fighting for the right to breathe clean air to fight for the worker that was getting their wage taken and stolen from their employer. I went and worked on immigrant rights and so much more. And all of that to say, we have to stop treating as if folks that are paying for education as if they bought some bougie car or some big, you know, something beyond no. They were seeking an education. That woman makes almost $200,000 a year. And she wants you to pay for her college education. I mean, she's very clear about it. She did nice things. She worked for immigrants rights and she did a lot of nice things. A lot of altruistic things. She didn't buy a bougie car. She got a law degree. So now you pay for that law degree. You have to pay for her education. That's the mindset. And again, $174,000 a year salary. Do you make a $174,000 a year? 70,000 can I ask you a personal question? If you made a $174,000 a year, would you expect it's just everybody else to pay for your bills?

"The guardian. I'm linda rodriguez mc robbie and i'm a freelance journalist. I'm the author and reader of the piece. You're about to listen to this piece. Started out as an examination of what appeared to be a trend that began at the beginning of the millennium. The expensive fashionable status pram as exemplified in the brand that really made the luxury buggy very visible bugaboo. Now even if you're not a parent you've probably recognized the brand's logo there three. Overlapping circles the story of the dutch. Pram makers was also tied to the popularity of sex in the city itself. A very appealing consumerist fantasy in two thousand two a bugaboo frog belonging to red-headed headed lawyer miranda hobbes appeared in an episode in the days after it aired mothers took to the internet. Message forums to track down that cute stroller when they found it. Bugaboo was swamped with requests within a year. The frog was all over. The streets of new york and la article after article marveled at its features namedrop the celebrities who pushed it and golfed at seven hundred dollar baseline price tag. Imitators followed some more expensive and others less so but all hewing to the idea. That design and functionality were important to parents in ways that they hadn't been before but as satisfying as this narrative was buggies as a new status item in an era of intensive parenting. And of course increased scrutiny. On parents. what. I actually found was that buggies and prams have always been status symbols in the victory era parameter as they were called told observers that the person pushing it had a place to parameter late in that they had access to a private garden or park and that they had leisure time to parameter late with a baby. And that's if they were being pushed by mothers a lotta times they were being pushed by nannies which was another indicator of class..

"And i wanna say it was around episode six or seven where jennifer aniston's character is hosting this charity event at her apartment in new york city. And for thousand dollars. You could get up and perform a song with the With the pianist. Who is they're playing so she and her boss. This guy cory. That's as characters name. They wind up doing this broadway duet and my girlfriend like you know what we should. We should work on some duets. I took down that whole series. I took down. There are only ten episodes but each episode was an hour long. I took down the entire series last week in quarantine. If you haven't seen the morning show you just got to be prepared though clinton for what it's gonna do to you. Because last night we saw the final episode. And like i'd say for the first half of today. I caught up in it where there was so much. Drama and things zaidi stress. Yes so much stress. Dude that i was like. Oh man it literally took me half of today to get over seeing episode ten last night i. I don't love stressful shows. But i liked him. If i know they're gonna have a good ending. So i'll i'll proceed with caution this let me ask you. Thanks let me ask you this. I have some pretty strict rules for karaoke personal rules. Which are that number one. There's two rules you can take. Which is that a. You have to be really honest about it. Like don't go up there acting like you can sing if you can actually sing. If you're there to have a good time have a good time. If there to sing sing but the second most important i'll call this a guideline scott which is no the words songs that you don't know the words to is not that fun. You know what. I mean like any song that you know the words to and karaoke without having to look at it is better than any like a bad song. You know the words to as a key performance is going to be better than a good song. You don't know the words to. That's all i'm saying that's that's i. I believe in that strongly. I think it's a good rule of thumb that whatever song you pick you should know at least ninety percent of the words without having to have the teleprompter in front of you right and if you gotta go to it for like a chorus or part of the break like to check the timing of the song okay but like songs. You are always to be better because you probably wrapped him in your mirror or segman your shower a million times before. Play your strengths folks. All right let me tell you a quick kariuki story so you know the boxing announcer. Jim lampley right. So jim lampley. And i were longtime friends blah blah blah. I'm name dropping. Okay here goes but lampley loves karaoke. I'm mean loves karaoke so ninety seven this party at his house and he's doing he's got a karaoke machine and i don't remember what song he did. It was like a bryan adams song. Something that was very easy for him to do like pretty easy to do round two comes and lampley decides he wants to try and do an eminem song god. There's no chance he could you clinton. You couldn't even keep up with the lyrics on the teleprompter so again. If you don't know ninety percent of the lyrics you've got no shot especially if you're trying to do a rap when you're a sixty year old white guy forget it you got no chance i will tell you a similar story and this is how come came to learn this. There's to be a guy in our crew. Was his name. John in college big. I won't go so far as to call him fish. But you know if you were being mean that's what you would. He wasn't necessarily a big big hit with the ladies. Even though he'd held his own he was his tall. This was the biggest part of his game so we used to have a karaoke night at our college and miami. You know one of the bars did it. It was relatively popular to the point that like people would go and people would do it and people to necessarily pay attention to everybody. It was just another bar night but if there was a really good performance it made a difference so one night. We're out it's like the whole squad and like whatever you know none of us are getting on stage or is there drinking you know. Hang out with people. Johnny gets onstage. Johnny goes drop. that beat. johnny wraps every single word to ice ice baby lawn doesn't look at the screen one time. It has the crowd going nuts. He walks off the stage. Some girl jumps into his arms because she was so impressed. Johnny firemen grabs walks right out of the park never to return and the next day he comes back over to the crib because we also lived in two houses and we were like what happened. Just rock the mike. Mandel gotta be kicked me. It was amazing and ever since then. That's what i was like. That's how you do it. You know what i'm saying. You gotta know your material. Nail that thing and get out of there. It was great all right. Hey so jesse the body. You're on your way out of here with a little vaca- and i understand you're headed to orlando to disneyworld whereas laura are you doing three straight days of disneyland. Low mickey mouse with his little events. You know it was awesome. I look i don't understand. I grew up the biggest mickey mouse fan. I do not like minnie mouse. Because those like she stealing my man like i literally my girlfriend who else. Yeah exactly. I love when you guys will go into my room. It looked like a little ten year. Old little boy lived in it because it was decked out and maki stuff so for me to work for the mouse yaro now like i love it. We want friday night when we love disney springs. I can live at disney springs. Dude you better be there like when they opened that park because you want to try and get it all in before about three pm because three. Pm comes it's going to get gray. "What's right here. Is jesse the body lopez with big deal or no deal. What do you say jaylo. Before i go into my big deer and audio. I just want to say that. I know chris made made one open with my name in it and leave only heard it that one time and i've been filling in for the last gary three shows and let it go. I was off until i heard it again. And it wasn't my name. So he is here greg off their clamping. I'm here filling in from doing the hard work. Plus he told all his friends. He's like yo on sodano. And kaplan clinton yates is in the house. Unique is here like you're going to hear me on the radio and it's like you know kid. His love exactly. Thank you cap. You get where not a with producer. Jesse perfect. Chris clip that that the next time. I'm feeling in all right. So let's go so we got a small bit of breaking news here that kind of ties into my first big deal deal. the clubs cubs and reds are set to play the twenty twenty to fill the dream games next year beginning on august eleventh and that kind of ties into my first big deal. No deal because it came out earlier today that Producer michael shore who is known for creating parks and rec brooklyn. Nine nine and the good place has been tapped to As showrunner to write. Atv adaptation of field of dreams. so he's Sorry i just saw lord shaking something at me He's just threw me off if he's also had some. Maybe candidates goes. That's being is on the way out to call me okay last week and try to kick me out early. I it's okay laura. it's okay. I know it's it's all good fun right. All right deal or no deal is michael is a field of dreams. Tv adaptation a big deal or no deal capital i. I'm going to say no deal. And the reason i'm saying no deal is because i'm one of these people. I say it all the time. That i i really would love original idea. You know what i mean so now. It's like okay field of dreams. The movie that was like twenty something years old and they started doing this field of dreams in iowa which i thought was corny last week but then i really started to get into it and then clinton you were there and it was. This bomb. game was an amazing way to end the game the fireworks they couldn't have scripted in any better. So just for me. Not an original idea. So i go with no deal. This is a big deal. But not i'm on caps ii but this is a big deal you know why because people are gonna like this. The the number of people who sort of dr- are drawn to kind of anything field of dreams related is much higher than i sort of realized. I think this'll be very popular. I mean if you really wanna make the comparisons from a story line standpoint. The good place is actually kind of a funny space. If you think about like baseball players that are ghosts. You know what. I'm saying like there could be some comedy there. I don't really know what the type of show would be. I don't think it's going to be the heart warming tale of a father and son through fantasy land baseball. But it is an interesting premise. Show so big deal but just not something. That's for me. Overall really love field of right laura. She's over here clamoring about how she loves. It is or favorite movie. Ever watch what. I meant to say when i was like china saying no you don't we don't eat this in a series. We don't eat this in. A show led a burn burn. Baby burn next. I'm all right. Let's go next one all right so last friday. I think it was. it was Or some point last week. The thirtieth anniversary of metallica's black album. We kind of talked a little bit about it here. I think it was your last week. well it came out that outside of the album. That's gonna cover several different cover songs on that album. They're going to release a podcast. Gonna come out actually. This friday is the first ever. All metallica podcast. That takes a look behind the scenes of according that album which is known as the black album. So guys big deal. No deal on metallica. Creating a podcast centering on their most iconic album. Massive no deal. I will never ever ever forgive metallica for ruining napster. Okay napster for those of you. Who know was the foul sharing service back in the day. Lime wire baby that allowed you. Basically share music. Peer to peer. It was revolutionary. If you were in college and you could have any piece of music. Basically that you wanted any video game you wanted to anytime because some kid in new jersey. Basically invented and lars from metallica was hating shut. The whole thing down messing with college campuses across american forever changing landscape of american music. Don't i am not in anything. Metallica does anymore. So i have i have. I'm gonna go with clinton here that it's no deal that metallica's creating this podcast but i- everything you just said doesn't doesn't really resonate for me. It's it's really just. Because i don't know about the rest of you guys but like how much time do i have you know like. I'm trying to watch certain series that i like. Okay i'm committing time sitting in front of a television or a computer. I like podcast. And i'm so appreciative. When we get tweets clinton from people over the weekend. They're like yo man. I just heard this on the seven. Ten podcast. And i didn't hear it on thursday but i was catching up and i'm so flattered that people will go back and listen to podcasts. But there's there's only twenty four hours a day. There's only seven days a week. There's only.

"Like i got rooms of people that still need is but i gotta sleep a little bit and there. I feel like these doctors are kind of losing their their sympathy if you will. Because they're like you should have already gotten this done. I mean you know. Look i again. We say town. I'm not a doctor. But i don't play. I'm not a doctor. And i don't play one on the radio but you know what i do. I listened to doctors. That's what i do. Because i'm trying to say a lot. Yeah and i just do it blindly to. The doctor tells me this is what they do. Okay doc you got it but didn't seem kind of fast like they hurried it up and say i don't care get the vaccination like a pandemic. It's an emergency. You trying to get things done quickly to save lives and listen again. I i hate to be on my soapbox everybody. But the fact of the matter is living a massless vaccinated life and then getting a breakthrough case and handling it. The way i know. I am and again a little bit league. Got some disgusting taste in my mouth. Okay but that's it that's all that it is thankfully so far some hey clinton around the nfl. This past weekend. I get it. It's week one of the preseason. And i don't think anybody sitting around analyzing every game but i will say that the story line coming out of week one is the five rookie. Quarterback's all played and people's analysis on which one of these rookie quarterback's will be a starter week one. Did you see the performance of justin fields now. The chicago bears have said from the very beginning. Andy dalton is qb one. They went out and signed him to a one year. Ten million dollar deal and they promised him he would be the starter but all the reports in training camp are the justin fields as welling. The chicago bears coaching staff and players. And after the weekend of all these guys who played in many of them played halfway decently fourteen of twenty passing one hundred and forty two yards and a touchdown pass five carries. Thirty three yards rushing touchdown. Justin fields of the five quarterbacks rookie quarterbacks that played. he's the one that seemed to stand above the rest. What did you think. I got a lot of homes from chicago. I got a lot of people that are in the bears diaspora if you will and let me tell you. These folks are over the moon. Does that mean that. I think that every single bears fan wants to start. Justin fields week one. No i do think that there is something to be said for letting him get his feet under him letting them learn a couple of things and then throwing them out to the problem is the bears have been bereft of decent quarterback. Play forever the last guy they had that was even remotely attractive to anybody with jay cutler and that did not end well at all. You know what i'm saying like. I think that there's a very easy route to take if you're chicago and say hey this guy's good. Why don't you play him but at the same time. Think about a guy like pat mahomes came through. He sat a full year behind alex smith. He played those last four regular season games a little bit and then that next year he was the guy. I kind of believe in that right now. I know that it's tough to keep a kid on the bench. If he's not necessarily you know there's no reason for it. But i i mean i don't think he's gonna take you to the super bowl so you wanna make sure that he developed at the right pace ama- believer in that scott. I love these storylines. Oh mack jones. The first round draft choice quarterback out of alabama to the new england patriots. There's all this talk about. Will he start over cam. Newton cam newton quoted today as saying that bill has an exactly told me on the starter yet trevor lawrence down in jacksonville. I know people talked about tibo but seriously like trevor lawrence. He looked okay. Six for nine. Seventy one yards. That's a pretty good outing. Not too bad not bad. And then trae lands up in san francisco. The numbers at least completion percentage wise weren't great five of fourteen but he did have one hundred and twenty yards and a touchdown one of them was like an eighty yard touchdown. A forty yard throw in a forty yard run. But i love these storylines five rookie quarterback's all getting. They're playing time in week. One and the stories then of who will who will displace a veteran quarterback and become one of the starters. I love great great. That's the nfl's built on. also and carolina. Sam darnold interesting stories. Well so we'll see what happens around league when it comes to their quarterback rooms all right the highest rated segment on sodano and kaplan big.

"Hundred one hundred percent. Okay i'll go because you know what clinton unity presidents is requested. Right chapter president because i think that Demarco far is also going to join us. Keyshawn told me on twitter that he's not getting there until six fifty five even though we're doing a broadcast from four to seven pm. Travis rodgers will be in the house and hollywood park. Casino is a great place to go so why not come on and join us. Do that just might do it. All right Clinton are you a washington football team fan. I know earlier today. You mentioned that you had season tickets as a kid to the wash there now. In the team of my youth basket obviously still connected to them on my friends still root for them and you know but their issues. They got a lot of issues. But i still very much connected to what goes on in the day to day in that franchise. I was reading quote. That ron rivera. Now you know. The story of ron rivera. Their head coach right He's a guy that battled and be cancer. Yes and so from the very beginning of all the vaccine talk he was very pro vacs. Now if you're an nfl coach especially famous guy in the nation's capital in a controversial branded team. Just you could very easily if you wanted to just kind of mind your own business not necessarily take a strong position and just coach football and not have to deal with all the trolling. Because you've got a strong opinion but rivera was quoted as saying this and this is talking about players in vaccinations he goes. You've got some quite frankly. Effing a holes that are putting a bunch of misinformation out there leading people die and that's frustrating to me that these people are allowed to have a platform and then one specific news agency every time they have someone on and i'm not a doctor but the vaccines don't work. I'm not an epidemiologist. But the vaccines are going to give you a third nipple and make you sterile come on man. He said that should not be allowed. I love that. Ron rivera is taking a strong position as a cancer survivor that he's upset that there's all this what i'll call dialogue and misinformation. That's out there. In fact i was reading articles weekend. Clinton in the la times about all these hospitalizations and the insane percentage of them that are all non-vaccinated people and the one doctor who's an epidemiologist was telling the story that her family they're not into the vaccine and she was saying this was. These were her quotes. I'm paraphrasing she's like let me get this straight. I went to medical school. I became it epidemiologist and my own family would rather get their information from instagram. Rather than from me a legitimate scientist so a buddy of mine who's in. La firefighter who happens to be listening right now. Just text me and he said hey is espn is seven ten pushing that you should be pro vaccine like no bro. I'm pro vaccine. Because i got vaccinated when i wasn't really sure i wanted to. I kind of like in the early stage. Rose seems kind of rushed to me but i got it because i wanted to go live again and i took it. Blindly took every other vaccine. I've ever taken in my life right. And now they're right right. And now here i am with a breakthrough case and i'm handling it like it's a common cold. Yeah i'm a little fatigued and got this really bad taste in my mouth but other than that. I'm fine i did not on a ventilator. I don't want to get off into a whole thing about this. But i will say this the only reason. I giggled earlier before. y'all don't they. I don't take too seriously. But just to hear ron rivera. If you know how he is just from from sort of a temperament standpoint to hear him call somebody effing. Ails is very funny but separately. The thing about ron is that they're that team specifically and i check by numbers here but i want to say like last week or maybe even two weeks ago was perhaps the least vaccinated team. I think in the nfl which is scary to think about. That's gotta be fueling. Part of why ron is so upset about this. It's not just joe blow from kokomo walking the streets or it's not just the person that's coming into the crowd to drink beer and fight somebody else or cheer on the team with their family. It's the guys. He's actually coaching. That don't even care enough to try to do their part. You know and. I want to get off on newest to on this but like to me. That's what it's about. Scott you said people say oh seven ten pushing this and pushing that no. I'm just a decent person trying to make sure that everybody out. It doesn't die. That's why i took it you know. And so for ron rivera to speak up like this. I think that your point about the market. He's in controversial. Team in facts makes this a little bit more heroic than not. He doesn't care about the football right now. You know what i mean. He's talking about his life. He's talking about the american population. He's talking about what i guess he deems to be decency among the human race and i applaud him for that. You know what i mean. That cannot be easy to do when again. The dude you are paid an employed to direct. Won't even listen to you on that front. who knows. They're going to listen to him when it comes to football. Really brave man round of errors really. I'm not gonna say that he's proven anything to me because he's always been kind of guy that was very admired around the league. But i did not think that he was going to be this outspoken about a lot of things even though things got off to a kind of a rough start in. Dc in terms logo stuff and nicknames and that at this point he's being honest from the heart about who he is and who. He's been as a person and i appreciate that. I'm not gonna let me too. I know and i honestly like. Sometimes i think to myself as well mike. You know what i want. You just shut your fat mouth meaning and not get yourself caught up into all of this because the fact is is that. If you're pro the anti vacs community is coming after you. And if you're anti vaccine provex community thinks you are an idiot. In fact i was talking to a bunch of buddies of mine this weekend. Their doctors and they're like listen. I'm losing my patience for these people because this is america. We all have access to this. This is not some third world country where we don't have access to the vaccination. We have access to it it's free. Everybody should have done it by now. This is my friend. A couple of doctors talking. And they're like here's a thing buddy of mine is a radiologist. I guess one of the things that he has to do is not just examine x rays. But he's got the way he described it to me was he's like it's kind of like being a plumber he's like you got a a router. These blood clots telling me this story how he was on for twenty straight hours room by room by room cleaning out. These blood clots people and he after twenty hours straight of cleaning out peoples blood clots all because they were unvaccinated. Kobe patients he finally put his hands up in the airline. I can't do it anymore..

"Off the real sunday breakfast is bomb. Actually i gotta say. I don't think it's a terrible idea for iowa. Just because of like you say sunday mornings people walk in there. Like i'd like to have a mimosa and able to add that. I do a remote from an hop in second. Tell you that much. Tommy where you at remote. I hop coming soon. I to be invited to that in guy. I can't remember the last time. I was in ihop ordinaries. In fact the last time. I was in denny's i remember. It was a late late late night and one of the guys i was with was all wasted and passed out in a booth and i was like humiliated for the guy i remember. The one time. I was passed out in wasted. Denny's fun times. One time that. I can remember say on the line over here that i can remember just to complete this bit. A guy used to work with it. Espn radio he lost his fantasy football league. And it's one of these leagues. They have to do ridiculous bets. And he had to spend twenty four hours in a denny's and so what he did was he ended up doing a show out of it to get some content a livestream show to raise money for charity and i was one of the people who was one of his guests because he was a friend of mine. I was like okay. This is just ridiculous enough. That i'm all the way in so you know what i did. It was after this show one week one day three weeks ago. When i was in studio i went to the denny's to talk to him on facetime. Well he was at the denny's denny's denny's moment that's great. I know of that man all right. Well hey listen. Clinton you and i were talking earlier today and i want to bring this up to everybody i know we were talking about. Nfl preseason and we'll get back. Because i think that you know there were five rookie. Quarterbacks that all are being talked about from week one of the preseason. We'll get there but college football. I was looking at the top twenty five. The preseason top twenty five for the ap and the coaches poll usc is number fifteen in the ap. Top twenty five. Their number fourteen in the coaches poll. Top twenty five and listen. It's great to be in the preseason. Polls but i was starting to go a little bit deeper. Which is okay let's say. Usc has a great year. Let's say usc goes unbeaten. Does usc have enough of a schedule to actually get them to be taken nationally. Seriously i don't know if you had a chance to really really digging on. Usc schedule yet. Other than notre dame. There's really nothing out there outside of the conference that's overly impressive and there's not even the better teams in particular oregon who's a preseason top twenty five on the schedule from within the conference so i guess what i'm saying is that i would be worried if i'm an. Sc fan that you could go. Undefeated and sc might find themselves in the same position as a boise state. Where you're unbeaten and no one's impressed with your schedule. What did you second cat. Usc goes undefeated. I'm worried about whether or not they get into a bowl game because us. He will have gone undefeated. Something that has not done close to happening. For the prideful program of the trojans anytime recently. And i think that's what the schedule is kind of indicative of. I'm not saying that you shouldn't have the big aspirations in the world. Fight on get it but like you can tell by the strength of schedule in terms of who they've got here san jose. Stay okay notre dame okay. Byu is the biggest team on. Their schedule is not named notre dame and so that's how to conference and so like for me. I think that this is a reasonable expectation situation. They know they've got a reputation rebuild. I mean he's always going to get great athletes just based on brand reputation but that doesn't mean that they're always going to be able to win games in the conference like the pac twelve where you're definitely not automatically getting a bid to anything just because you show up and just because you might not might have happened in i'll lose i think this is not a rebuilding year but this is a year where you really figures out what they're doing next. As far as who they are from an identity standpoint comparatively you brought up. Oregon oregon gets ohio state week. To if oregon goes undefeated oregon is going to go to the playoffs. That's for sure. I don't know man oregon's got that week three game. After ohio state they're playing against stony brook. Says anybody know our house stony brook. I mean you talk. Listen it's one thing when you schedule fresno as oregon did. It's one thing when sec scheduled san jose state san jose state as i recall last year for a team that's always a bottom feeder in the mountain. West actually had a really good year a year ago. I mean san jose state and mountain west teams. They all want a chance to play against pac twelve teams. And obviously you know. An an upset could do something for them. It's a it's a they have more to gain. An se has a whole bunch to lose but my goodness stony brook on the oregon schedule man is a brutal brutal scheduling for. I mean look. I got it. Stony brook needs the money but stony brook like this college football. Fcs kind of team from the colonial athletic conference in new york is going to schlep all the way to take on oregon this the schedule oregon at least has ohio state out of conference. The only thing. That usc really really has is notre dame. And i hate the way the schedule ends with its late november. It's thanksgiving time and sc plays byu rather than playing notre dame way at the end of the year. It's a hard game to win because byu's just competitive team for sure. They were good last year. I would love to see us. See go undefeated and and listen. I i just wonder if this schedule is enough to put. Sc into the conversation for the playoff is i. Just don't listen again. The only preseason team that's ranked here is notre dame. Yeah yeah it's alright. Stick around everybody coming up five rookie. Quarterback's all played week one of the nfl preseason. And it's the buzz of the first week. And ron rivera calls the anti vacs community a bunch of effing. Well we'll finish it off for you. Come right back. Stick around everybody. This is sodano and kaplan here on seven to ten. Espn yup sodano and kaplan here on seven seven. Espn on monday afternoon clinton. Yates what's up man. Quick question because heard the regional in so. Should i go on friday next friday to hang out with you. Guys dot com eight.

"You have been drinking and now you need something to absorb the booze. Let's go to denny's moons over miami okay just wanted to say devin. Just the only the only dish. I know denny's dish okay. The only the only entree. Oh grand slam okay. Pretty good grand-slam time. Okay gotcha gotcha But as far as i hop. If i were to go to an ihop and i can't remember the last time i went to one. I would feel like i'd be getting coffee. Water some sort of an omelette. And if i were going to get something. That's kind of a specialty drink. I think i'd get like a milkshake or something through booze i hop. I'm lyn all up. I tremendous omelettes like asleep. No no i hope is cool. Like i've denny's is that you're hella drunk. I just need some carbs in my life and call it a rate get and then i hop is. Yeah when i was studying to. But then i hop for me. It was like especially like in downtown fullerton. Everybody knows everybody knows i have. I'm talking about so in downtown. Blerta's i one. I hob and it's just like you would just want carbs. I don't go to ihop and be like oh. This is where. I'm going to get my breakfast. I can be a little boozy. Sometimes where i go eat breakfast and like i hope is not my breakfast. You've got problems i mean. Of course it's not dissing it. I'm not saying it's bad. Like i mean i'm more denny's guy truthfully gotcha. Okay all right. Can you go deeper than grand slam. Moons over miami air. Listen i'll give you this. Because i know this because me and my friends used to live off this whenever we go to denny's a two four six eight minutes greg hall fat. It's like a maybe like fifteen different items that are all within the prices of two dollars. Four dollars six dollars radar nash biscuits and gravy old grady on had a four dollars. All you can eat pancakes. Chicken the grill go to a crispy or grilled chicken No like little like little chicken tacos. Simplify it and i think one point there the skill that you can order. That was eight dollars. It was like a chicken and potato skillet. i just gotta tax. Oh and i'm about to put somebody black because listening okay. Eleven eleven only. Like you are boozy for breakfast. I am welcome okay. I'm just hold on hold on no. You can be boozy for breakfast because we can't skip breakfast. I'm a big breakfast guy. In a brick bekker's believer so if you're going to be boozy on any of the three important meals breakfast is the one to be boozy with so that's okay. That's a great call. Thank you. I mean what i mean. It was a little pricey but it ain't that boozy trust. There's boozy boozy win avocado avocados cost. Like twenty dollars. Okay well you know can remain. Shut up were you at you at so-fi stadium getting avocado avocados. So i avoid algebra. My regular got pulled 'akau'ola's look eat it if it's there but i'm not looking for y'all kidney all avocados and i'm not i'm not come on jesse clearly because i don't like that bill go totally straight off the real sunday breakfast is bomb. "Need to know is being brought to you by morongo. Casino resort and spa. Good times less than ninety minutes from wherever you are. This is sodano and kaplan on seven seven. Espn and here is producer. Laura at u. n. e. q. Underscore follow her. Yo thank you. i didn't have to say it. Shout out yes. I appreciate it. I need followers. Okay anyways so. I i was looking on the internet and i came across as story that said that i hop is going to be adding something new to their menu. And i was like okay. I'm not a big person. Whatever i wouldn't pancakes are they creating. yeah man is not is not pancake related. You're actually going to be able to have alcohol at ihop. What's so terrible. Idea your wine or like a full bar. No no hold on hold on any place. It's twenty four hours. Not serve booze that is a basic rule of the streets. I mean always serve alcohol. Denny's has served alcohol. Aw that's to me. That's a recipe for disaster. It starting out so the. The company's new menu will include a few different beers. Some wine some bubbas but nothing hard liquor because they still want to have this family restaurant feel and they don't want to have like a bar situation. What do you mean by bubbly returning. Rose as or something where we sell seltzer. Snow like chardonnay. Like says like bubbly chardon. An here i don't want to give you know different brands and stuff beer and wine but not like liquor. Yeah go in there. Order a bunch of wrong shots so wilcutt. I agree with you. Because at first i was like. Oh that's kind of cool. You know. I can see it if it's a limited for like a sunday quote uncle branch. Whatever you go brunch hours right and you want to get something like a mimosa. Or whatever i can see that but if it's an all twenty four i mean not twenty four hours because alcohol. Oh my god. I can't speak. Alcohol gets cut at a certain point. But i feel like it should be limited to certain blocks of when you can order it. That's just me. Because i used to know a denny's location that had a full blown bar like it was denny's and then you stepped out and it was a full blown bar that you can go grab hard liquor and kind of interchange yourself with denny's that went out really quick. The problem with the click serving alcohol. Certain places is that then you invite people who were looking to show up drunk. That's the main reason why it's an issue. I mean listen. I think i hop bouzid. It would be great but as we discussed before. The hooligans are everywhere. So i thought though that like like denny's for example right denny's would be the kind of place that it's two o'clock in the morning you've left some place you have been drinking and now you need something to absorb the booze. Let's go to denny's moons over miami okay just wanted to say devin. Just the only the only dish. I know denny's dish okay. The only the only.

The movie theater owned it on in the movie theater. Good lord. yeah. I was weird back in the day. Yeah yeah idle hands hands no one else. Think so no. I don't think so. Yeah greg speaking of idle hands. Don't do this to me. The raiders offensive line. Apparently something might be discussing how they are cheaper and more athletic cheaper. Usually means to be more inexperienced. That's what it means to. Because the raiders. If feels like it wasn't that long ago greg. That was the strength of your team. The offensive line so last year pro football focus has had them going into the season as the number one offensive line right now the the result though no no but pro football focus is usually pretty close to ryan preseason prediction right right but now this year. You're trying to tell me that. A guy adair carbon quarterback that's kind of on his last legs about whether he is or is not the guy with the raiders and josh jacobs being one of the best running backs in the game. Let's put an inexperienced offensive line for makes total sense. Thanks mike mayock. You're a genius. I the raiders i. I don't know what's happening. Yeah there was this bill mental with gruden and now it feels like we've hit like just kind of just it's fizzling right now. They gave him a hundred million dollars. Yeah admired mike. Mayock off television to why mike mayock have a job in the nfl. I don't get that like this is an honest question. Like why did he hire him. We look. I don't know about you but it gives me. It gives me a fighting chance. I'd love to be an mba gm. One day you know. They hired by why not me. Sodano comes out of the booth. It starts running the heat. One day i swear to god of moving to miami. That would be fantastic. No that would never happen there. They would never let me in there because they're too family or some random. It's it has to be like the wizards or somebody like some rando team. Like what. I mean like. I take the job. I'd like young guys 's okay. I love you. But i'm going to work at one of the thirty. Nba teams as a timber wolves. So jordan says all right hornets. gm is you sodano. You're taking it. I'm in what general manager in the nba. I'm not even also crazy. Do you watch the hortus. Walbro pass even the league. They are easily the best league tax team in the league. They trying to think about. What's the timber wolves. he said it. I would take the job. My wife divorce me but i would take the job you know. I don't want to push out. Although i wouldn't take the typical 'cause i don't wanna push gerson roses. Who's the only hispanic gm in the nba. There's only room for one george. Come on buddy what are you doing. Yeah can't do that so it's just halfway how. 'bout here yo. The kings what. Oh what about. This is the crucial one the clippers. Oh for sure. I would take sisters. He would take a second bomber. Gets to be my boss. Yeah dude i take that would you if you were the. Gm of the clippers the frejus. We'd take the timber. Wolves clippers job. Let's get the first move. Has to be getting rid of chuck. The condor that. Oh yeah he's out. he's a that would be my first law wouldn't even be the roster. It'd be like yo chuck you gotta go. Big announcement. chuck the condor. Yeah i mean at What's his name from sports illustrated. Who works for the clippers. Lee jenkins i'm so jealous of him. "There could you. Could you imagine five little greg's running around like no. Don't do over flown their meat. Like that makes it worse. I'd rather have children. Yes i'd rather your children be running around. I've been waiting half size clone. Oh man we. It's like doctor. Evil and name of the mini me. Yes yes yeah. So five mini. Me's with with you. I get them to small places. Yeah we absolutely get him into movies for free. Oh yeah it'd be a blast. Put him on top of each other and having like with a trenchcoat. I've lived what's next right. Donna would you rather have to always hop around on one foot or always have to squat. Always run on one foot. Squatting is a pain in the rear literally and figuratively. That's easy. I could be like the like. The girl who are keen was supposed to marry originally in coming to america. Oh but i mean you know like like for nothing shots. This veterans out there who do have to run on one leg facts. Yeah next clinton. Would you rather go a year with no eyelashes or go year with no eyebrows easily. I mean do anything for me other than you know. Make me look good browse. Feel like have a little bit more function like. I don't know what it is. But like i notice eyelash that's a very detail oriented person but unless something has gone awry with the eyelashes. I'm not really paying attention to them. I feel like the feeling or bigger part of my my face. You know what. I mean like i taking a more real estate. Yeah could always draw them in. Yeah but i mean that's weird. I don't know like i women. Tattoo them in. I guess so but then they stick stick to your lashes would lashes do like what do lashes do is they. Take your is now because it keeps like debris from coming in and this is true. Yeah that's true. What do eyelashes do. I'm googling this. I want to see what the first thing that comes. In a way you can always put fake lashes. Make sure you get your eyebrows. Even though they are often regarded as an emphasis of beauty their primary function is to protect the is small articles as dust. Sander debris from entering the laura was right. I go with the the well know. That would get the fake ones to laura's point so yeah i'll keep my eyebrows go all right. What's next all right. So i forget. I'm going to this time. So saddam one all right. ooh last one. I got to pick a good one. Let's go with okay. Would you rather data glistening. You're not married. Would you rather date a girl who won't stop talking or data girl who won't stop texting. Oh easily texting bro. Talk like talking don. Stop even my kids. I this is my kids. And i tell the daddy needs arrest. Okay daddy can't keep listening just little silence for five minutes. So if i can't do it my own children who they are the fruit of my loins. I can't just someone. I'm dating no as somebody who's dated a person who did both probably talking for sure because you're right the the noise violence. If you will is something. That is just very hard to overcome texas. You can ignore lau a guy that won't stop talking or a guy that won't stop texting again. That won't stop talking. Yeah broke yeah too much man. That is would you rather. We'll play our next game at six thirty big joe. No deals are most popular segment On the show. I mean i don't know how you thought that was a good. You guys really have to miss missing. Full full disclosure. I complete all we were talking about. I am legend. I just different. I know when. I heard i thought of. I am legend which i do like i. Robot terrible that's different. No i literally thought right up until i heard that music i was like what is this. Then he was like. Oh right i robot. I am legend but he had to movies. That were about him. Being like a fantastical whatever so. I got confused sumi. I never said it was good. So we i don't even remember is based on it kristie too. But i'll tell you this though listening to that i didn't makes me rethink does like was good. But now dad. My dad was a big isaac asimov guy like loved his actual books and he was like. Yeah this movie did not work like the three laws of robots and yadda yadda that's a real actual part of science fiction. That like a lot of people care about and they kinda bastardize it in a way. That actually was not great like whatever. It's a movie. But i definitely we're talking about. I am legend at the entire time in the pre. Show me so. I found some of the critics reviews of the movie back. Then i robot. Here's here's a good one. Leaving aside the sub matrix matrix hokum about spooners sweet potato loving grand mom the movie humiliates itself and embarrasses us by the amount of time it spends plugging a glamorous car The car was really cool. Yeah i like the car. Here's here's one from time magazine. In the end i robot is just an assembly product of a very advanced model. Wow go run tomatoes and see what they were with. The critics are tomato the critics with the audiences the audience and the audience doesn't know what the critics don't know what they're talking about mean. They're only played to know what they're talking about. It doesn't mean. Every i was louis prepping what i was gonna say. My favorite scene from am legend was like wait a second. There's no robots in item legend. Wait a second. that's different movie. That's what happened in my brain. I mean i am. Legend had some problems too. But you know story i. It's a it's a it's a. It's a better film by mild fair. Yeah it's a pretty terrible movie dude. Like will smith had a run of really bad movies like west but he had them run instead only one in the movie and you were forced to look at will smith save the world in some manner or another for like five whole years like sure. Get your bread dude. But it was like the genre was getting old for a while it was. I seen it this thing before. Because i do. Wanna rib on the raiders. Here a little bit. I'm sorry raider. Fans and greg just look it is what it is like. I'm trying to. I'm gonna find the stretch ok. Because they're they're clearly. There was a stretch where he was incredible like he couldn't miss. There was a stretch. Legend was the best of those will smith. Only movies is probably the best way for me to put that..

"I am the king of rom coms. Okay i listen i. I love me a good rom com. I've probably seen all of the good ones. I feel like i can maneuver myself around even my enemies in a rom. I know the strategy to being in a rom com. Give me the rom com. The horror movie always goes poorly. You're going to die so many people are going to. I want to see my friends die. Gimme the com with my enemies. I don't know that. I grew up. But i need way more on the. I know my way around a rom com off. It's so predictable. I know it's coming in iran gum. I see it a mile away. I'm just saying like okay. That's fair but like greg. What would i be doing with. What is my interaction in the rom com. You know what i'm saying. I don't watch enough rom coms to know what we're enemies live. You will like you. Don't like anybody they all are against you all right. If you are the star of the rom com. They are trying to set. "See. I'm with you. In the interim we were talking about a lot. We've talked a lot about basketball today. We're damian lillard. Just start the show and how you know. He went out there and basically said that. He's not leaving portland or has no intentions elite portland at the moment. He doesn't have an idea. I wanna make sure. I get this quote right because the quotas fantastic old damian lillard. Sorry hold on quickly sean. Paul former competitive swimmer and water. Water polo player represented jamaica at various levels. Now there is this game. And i it. Gimme and allied bastard row less about you. Don't have. I used to pride myself on knowing. Quite a few sean paul lyrics whereas people would just be tried to actually learn the word so laurie. You think kaplan there's no chance he has all now not situation for kaplan. This is less rhythm to this in. You surprised me. Because i saw that video of ireland in houston a couple of years ago when he was still the sideline reporter for the lakers. There's a long time ago now. I was like ten years ago where he jumped out. As they were concerned they practice. I've i've seen this clip. Yeah you saw the clip right of ireland getting now. I mean he's supremacy aston to thing yet right right right attitude whereas kaplan kind of feels like he has an elaine from seinfeld kind of thing going on when he danced now mason. Do you think mason's got rhythm grabbed the. But i don't think may seem can dance. Those are two separate things i mean. He did the soldier boy song one year but that was a long time ago. That right oh well. That was fifteen years ago. The has longtime also mason is a guy that he has to have like a dance like that. He's following along with somebody he can do. You could probably square dance type of thing but like ireland ireland ireland ireland doesn't care so he'd be great on the national because he just gets out there and he doesn't care if you're looking at them and rod he's just doing whatever ireland's a guy cool you're at your wedding dress. Yes yes he'll he'll get a crack guy on the floor exempt ireland he will. He will get down for sure now. I talked to mason. Yes yesterday maybe was two days ago. And he's on vacation which would be the bushiest resort. You can do. I will i will i. I want people to call in to guess like make a guess on what the bouches resort thing you could do on vacation remember. He's at a resort right. What is the boozers thing you can do at a resort. Okay and i will tell you if that was the thing mason told me he did. I guess no you can s and then we'll take calls at eight seven seven. Espn but start you clinton. What was the. What is the thing that you think he did at this resort. That bucci is all hell beat. Side manny petty. That's wrong but you are. You are in. The ballpark is what i would say ballpark. I was going to say like in the room massage now. Not that boozy bro laura loud. Merely you're boozy laura. Listen gregg not as buji to laura's point but you are also sort of in the ball dodge at the beach no laura. You're wrong as well but you are hotter than than everyone else did is i mean i. It's on the beach we on the beach. Listening to you. Answer could answer clinton Is there a waxing. I mean not wax. Each is what i'll say. Is it a out the audience. We'll let the audience guess. What is the buji act. That mason told me he did while at this resort while he's on vacation eight seven seven seven eight seven seven seven ten three seven. Seven six in the interim mentioned about damian lillard here's the quote unquote christine said Damian lillard woke up to reports of him on the verge requesting a trade. It's not true and says secondly this is the kicker i haven't made any firm decisions on what my future will be which is not a rigging endorsement of your Fan not at all. So that means he's available or maybe eventually still firm decisions like who even uses the term firm decision. And if you're not actually making one that's why that's weird now team. Usa made some firm decisions on their roster without bradley beal and and was missing. Oh kevin love right love yeah. He decided to leave. He decided to leave and they have replaced them with javale. Mcgee and kelvin johnson. Who was a nice player for spurs. But i don't feel like kelvin. johnson. I feel like kelvin. Johnson's big surprise in jail. Mcgee like so okay. So there's another factor here which is the availability element like. I'm sure a lot of guys. Like i'm not coming off vacation to do this. Quite frankly and tobias harris by the way who i believe is in france he was asked he said. Nah my birthday weekend right. You know what i'm saying. I can understand why some guys just weren't there so if you're wondering why we got all the way down to the valleys of the world. I like to call him. It's not just a bodies thing it's availability thing and tell. The johnson was on the select team which was practicing. Yes yes and look is laker fans. You should know this. Jovial avail isn't available big. That can get things done in the pain. And i'm not going to go shot right like yeah. He can do some things like this and this gets back to my larger point about. What is usa basketball even trying to do. Are you trying to win medals. Or you're trying to showcase certain players. Are you just trying to win each tournament per tournament. And in this particular case you're trying to fill a need and jovial mcgee berry wealth need in my opinion. You know this is a pretty smart move. Yeah you're right. I i agree with you i at first i was like e and then i'm like man. I get it. Jason and dante jason. What are you got. I have the idea. So i think that the bar that laura did not like was divine ultra lounge..

Mark that you like so. I always have a route. Every time i go. I always start at the bar. Okay and then from there i walked at j.p. Twenty-three too busy and go to revolutioin. Sorry i'm white. I can't say Like everyone else can in revolutioin. And then i go to things after back alley out all right. I love it all right. Mark thank you. Let's sneak in ali in anaheim ali. What's up hey how's it going. What's up. I have a fearing that. It was matador. I don't know if somebody said that. Already but laura's no no okay. Matter like barton hopscotches a great to go to great old-fashioned Slide bar was great back in the day. And then another bad spot would be like stub breaks. Something over there okay. Cool thank you buddy appreciate you have a great weekend guys. I keep it coming. Your spots in for laura hit us up eight hundred seven hundred ten. Espn sean paul. He was trending today for some reason. It's either shampoo offers. I get my bet. I always like do you. Do you ever do that. Clinton where you see people trending you immediately like what happened. Nothing just ranch in the last year you know not to get too morbid with it. But because of situations like one just happened with yeah diabolical. Bismarck marquee like i try to. I try to avoid that. Because it's it gets into the we used to call back back in tony. Tony the doom. Scroll and i'm trying to. I'm trying to eliminate doom scrolling through my life. So i feel you i get you know but i cannot. Unfortunately i sent them and i'm like i mean because sometimes is nothing no concept of the show. Yeah no you're right and you know they say that thing you never wanna be. There's one main character on twitter every single day. You just want to make sure you're not that person you play every once in a while. That person is a famous person. Yeah for sure it. I will say this. You know we've been talking about. Laura went down to downtown fullerton. Got down for her birthday weekend this weekend and we need to find out what's next on the docket for laura for the rest of the weekend but i'll say this if you wanna talk about a sweaty bar dancefloor drinks flow and people. Getting down is like midnight sean. Paul song came comes on down. Are you kidding me. So i'm paul was a plus material for said activities for years baby boy with him and beyond say with the actual video is in a house party. Oh oh banger laura. Was there any sean paul last night late at night. Bloomer shampoo gets you in a mood. You know so you got to be careful with sean. Pod love sean. Paul was a competitive swimmer. Not oh it's like like. I'm fairly certain that cup. Some people might have swam for jamaica. I could be wrong about that. But i think i think that's right. I mean i wouldn't be making that up for no reason like go to the wicky greg. Check it out. I'm fairly sure. I believe we should play some sean paul music and they have to say his name is a by to make it. Just go to the gold cup as soon as you. Brought up sean paul. So that's what's that. Jamaica scored litter. Larry so funny when you brought up chumpol. That is funny by the way. Is anyone gonna watch space jam. We know lorraine But the rest of you watch space. Jam it's out right now. That's what i'm gonna do when i leave the show. Yep exactly i'm gonna take. My daughter is really excited for it. She made me watch the original at made me. I enjoyed it but we watch the original two weeks ago just in time to watch this. So yeah we're excited. This could be a granddaddy purple g situation before washing it. We'll see see. I can't do that because here's the thing if it's really good i'll enjoy it but if it's not so good that will make it worse. Yes fair enough. But i can't do it to that. I wanted to be good. So i i but i but i've seen some of the views and i don't let reviews usually tate my viewing experience because i am a bit of my own. You know a bit of my own movie. Snob and reviewer. And i i see my thing is this is that like. I'm not connected to space jam. The movie mentioned this yesterday. The soundtrack is what. I'm connected to select. There's no way. I'm gonna really care whether or not this one was any good or not either way. I just wanna see what it looks. Like and i hope i got a couple of laughs out of it. You know right. you know. We'll see. I'm with you. In the interim we were talking about a lot. We've talked a lot about basketball today. We're damian lillard. Just start the show and how you know. He went.

"I don't know whatever aaa team that or w team that anyway that had a bunch of dudes had open tries to get their players but they had one do that was really good and he lived at a hotel. That was up the street from the ballpark and he would get like a full limousine to take this one guy from three blocks away to the hotel to the ballpark. Every single day and the players would Ask being why did you let this guy ryder limo. And he said because that guy plays better when he rides in a limo to the ballpark. And this is that kind of thing to be like. If it's not out of control your ended up back to cash and you just got some fun benefits for people to do things with and you're not necessarily breaking up marriages. I mean there's more to art by the way. So what are you going to do like you know. The side pieces in the nba are looking at all. We need to make sure my man goes to brooklyn. I played exactly happens if anything happens where they were. The nba has to step in and something happens to the nets. I mean there's a laker fan. I'm not upset about that right. That's like if something happens to the clippers. I'm not upset about right and these are just the east. I'm the guy of path of lease resistance. So whatever gets the lakers moving through as fast as easy as possible. I'm all for it. So if you want to knock out the mets for this great but if they want to do it and they don't get caught good for them to. What's the penalty here george. What happens if you get caught. I mean i guess it probably fines. I guess draft picks like things like that which by the way our assets to make deals. If you're if you're a team that's in contingent. Those aren't necessarily irrelevant. Is what i would say. Vacated seasons you know whatever no they're not doing okay draft pick. I mean this is worth it right. I mean here's the thing brooklyn already gave away for picks. You hear what i'm saying like for james harden if the nba. Things them for this then. They've got no maneuverability. Yeah that's weird. I just like. That's such a weird thing to think about is like what's too much to give a pro player in order to make them better. I like that rule. Just seems so odd like i just feel like the thing as extra benefits right. Yeah that's a hard battle to win from the pr standpoint. If it's nothing actually like a legal. You know what i mean like. None of it is illegal. It's just it the rules. yeah absolutely. Hey real quick speaking of rules you know we like to play. You know we love the game shows around here you know what. Today is the anniversary of the olympic. Champions edition of family feud nineteen eighty-four. Richard dawson hosted a championship. Edition of olympians. Going on the family feud so you know what time it is. It is time for greg. To put richard dawson steve harvey had. And let's play. The laura gave us some feud music for greg to do his thing. Go ahead greg. Let's all right what's going on. Welcome back to the s. l. k. Few all right today. We're gonna we're gonna have an order here so you guys all know it's happening. It's going to go sodano to clinton to laura. And i think zach zach if you wanna play you can be. We'll play with zach zacharias. It'll be his first on air appearance. Zach bones the big big mic moment. Here all right so this is going to start off the top six.

"Need your help because i know you guys have been there. I'm going to my i l. Afc game this saturday. I'm actually super stoked. I'm not a huge soccer fan. But i've heard a lot of good things about going to la of see games and you guys talk about the food. They're so i wanna know why. Got a drink. What i have to drink what to eat. The chicken sandwich absolutely. You didn't know the number one rule is if you are not like okay. If you're not legitimately planning on like having. I don't want to say your person affected. Don't go the support section like. Don't kinda go experience it and be like. Oh yeah this is cool. I was there unless you wanna get wet your report on you or somebody puts you or whatever like the are serious. Elliott has relatively serious when to like. Don't do that just for the sake of saying and then they'll go get score. Beer goes up in the air annexed. Wet you don't want that. That's that's the key. I mean unless you wanna get rowdy unless you want to get that rowdy but what i'm saying is that like it's easy to look at the you know. The the supporters exits be like. Oh that looks fun and get over there and then two goals later. You're soaking wet. And you're like i should have done. You know what i'm saying. Like be leery that people many people care a lot and they will go to the answer. And that's a good thing but not necessarily forever. But i honestly i want to get more into the sport plus the players that we have every friday when we have them there so dope on. I got you know what i mean. So i'm like. I genuinely want to get into the sports. I'm like okay. Let me go let me experience. And maybe through the experience i can become like. Don't get me wrong. I used to be ticket cold for different. Mls team my point is that they take seriously. You know what i'm saying all around. I don't casually tiptoe in support a section you like. Oh yeah this is going to be how it goes you learn. You know what i'm saying. Which is which is awesome. What we like about them. Unless i might just dip there. Okay all right. That is what you need to know. Brought to you by morongo casino resort spa. Good times less than ninety minutes from wherever you are. Yeah the chicken sandwich. there is crazy. Good like and it's humongous. Bring your appetite show. We were just talking to a second ago about the nets. And how there's this crazy story. Matt sullivan is an author. Who wrote a book about the nets. And how kate katie and cairo came together and he spilled the beans on the dan. Lebatardshow podcast About how the nets allegedly are giving their team players extra benefits like their friends. Their girlfriends their side pieces are hooked up with and stays in different places and the budgetary people their financial people like. What are we doing here. This is getting insane now again. This is off the heels of a big story here in la about allegedly a guy claiming that he got kawai to the clippers and he's cited jerry west specifically him in. Jerry was having a conversation. That's being litigated in court. Still i believe as we speak. So greg i want to start with you. So you've got one team in. La allegedly doing some stuff You know to try to overthrow the lakers. And then you've got the brooklyn nets clearly. Tried to overthrow the lakers from the east coast side. I i would imagine this has to upset you a little bit as illegal van. Bit actually really liked what the nets are doing. You're going to be just a little bit surprised. But i really like. I am a fan of the benefits program. I realize you're never those benefits right like no. I know that. I'm not going to but if it makes my the teams on the lakers played better or for them. The nets played better because they're happy and happy. Then yeah. I'm all for that about that. Second half yeah. It was a little extra there. I mean you gotta give it a little bit of extra. They're going to be happy happy when they're on the floor. It's a just relaxed now. Listen i'm no prude. The reality is the mba. investigate this. Now okay yes right. By the way do you go. How does this work all of a sudden uncle. Dennis is looking up if allegedly right bomber. The side right now like this is what the nets are doing. Allegedly joe thing is i mean. I understand why it's an issue because you can't just be utilizing other humans as conduits to give money to but like if it could be like. I don't know like a gift card situation for you can't hit actual cat. Hey here's an airbnb gift card. You know what i'm saying like but we can have benefits like. I don't gotta figure something out here. Laura what do you think. I'm do on the phone and tell her about ttf training. I apologize guys. But i did catch the story. I mean look whatever gets my players to do better. I'm whatever oh okay now. Listen owners have done things for players you know. Birthday parties You know Dinners i just feel like houses is like something that is is clearly something that has been frowned upon in the past is what i would say. I'll tell you a funny story quickly. Greg is have you ever seen the movie. The battered bastards of baseball. It's a movie being. It's a movie about being russell. Kurt russell's dad who owned a team called the portland mavericks. Shocker is going to go crazy baseball story anyway. What are the guys on the team. Mind you this is you know..

"It's almost like a prison with corrupt origins continues to be corrupt They obviously this led to overpopulation in. It was so overpopulated. Apparently each cell was meant for. I saw on one website. It was four people per cell and then it was someone else at six people per cell but apparently overpopulation got so bad it was almost like a dozen people per cell. Oh people started killing each other just to have space just to have more room. Oh god and i mean that's awful. But i get it can i do. I live in a house with just three other people. And sometimes i'd like you guys joe get out of this room right now to lose my mind. Dogs and giant pig giant big will. There's only me and my girlfriend in this apartment and when we all left to do our bathroom break she was like. Why are you in here in the banking space. I went out to the kitchen. I was like well. I would also ask if you win on at the same time sharing more sharing so the women cells to answer your question. The women were on the first floor and the men were on the top floors after that so allegedly some of these women were only brought in not even because they had done anything criminal but because they were spinsters and didn't have anywhere else to live and so they were just brought to the jail on my car at a higher age. So place for you and your like employment or college. Nope the pink house. Prison appear and your father at the time being like this. This wasn't meant to be your and gosh. But here's something even more horrible. Is that apparently. The women were expected to cook and clean for the whole drill. Now share half. I'll know whether or not you i mean. All of them were inmates. But whether or not you had done anything wrong it could be a murderer while they care. But you've been straight spencer. The they run the gamut all in one sale. First of all q imagine being the one who just didn't get married now you rooming with a man didn't find you attractive your crime. 5 Reformers on the Psalms

"This episode. Let's explore five reformers on the soames will start and end with very familiar reformers and in between who knows. Maybe we'll talk about someone you don't know I is. Martin Luther Luther like all of these reformers loved the psalms. Luther set up habit of reading the psalms through in about three weeks and that was a habit. He kept up all of his adult life early on in his career. As a reformer he published his work on the psalms in fifteen eighteen and again in fifteen nineteen and that set a trajectory for the reformers to publish commentaries on the Psalms. So first pride of place goes to Martin. Luther next up is Lutheran Pastor Yohannes Buchen Haagen in fifteen twenty four. He published a Latin commentary on the Psalms. This was a massive work and set the stage for many of the commentaries. That would follow in fact. It was so influential in its Latin texts. That a publisher convinced. Martin Boozer and now. Here's our third reformer on the psalms convinced Martin Bucer to translate this Latin commentary into the German and he did well before we leave. Bougie Haugen talk about boots. Or however let's hear what Bogin Haagen has to say about just psalm one he says therefore in this psalm you have all of the scope of all of holy scripture. He goes on to say every song is about Christ and ultimately every song has something to say directly to the church. Well that's Bougie Haagen as we already mentioned boots are translated. Buchen Huggins commentary into the German. Fifteen twenty five. There's an old Latin expression translator trader. And that's exactly what Buchen Huggins thought of Martin bucer translation. It was not just a translation he he took many liberties and an essence was publishing his own commentary. Well that led to boots or publishing was in fact his own original commentary in fifteen twenty nine and curiously. He published it in Latin. It was a huge volume but despite its heft it went through five editions in the Latin. It went through two editions in French and it even made it into the English. So influential was bouterse commentary on the Psalms that it actually impacted the French Salter and the English psalter which then went into the English Bible. Curiously enough boots are published it under a false name presenting himself as a French humanist scholar from Leon well harassment's great human scholar. Erasmus discovered. It was actually bucer and the JIG was up. Well that's three out of four next comes. A reformer you might not have heard before we'll famous Musculus. He was a reformer and scholastic tradition. He was a benedictine monk in fifteen eighteen reading luther. He was converted. He then went to Strasbourg. Studied under Martin boots or he was dispatched to Augsburg. He wrote many books. Among his books are eight commentaries on the Old Testament including his commentary on the Psalms Musculus. Well that leads us to our fifth and final reformer that is Calvin. He published his commentary on the Psalms in fifteen fifty seven and among other things. He says in his preface to the psalms. He extols the virtues of the psalms. Here's what Calvin has to say. There is no other book in which there is to be found more express and magnificent commendations both of the unparalleled liberality of God towards his church and of all of God's Works. There is no other book in which there is recorded so many deliverance -is nor one in which the evidences and experiences of the fatherly providence and solicitude which God exercises towards us are celebrated with such splendor of diction and yet with strict adherence to truth short. There is no other book in which we are more perfectly taught the right manner of praising God. Well that's Calvin one of five reformers on the

Getting to Know Luther's Pastor: Johannes Bugenhagen

"This episode we are once again on location and the Museum of the Bible they say that here at the Museum of the Bible they have seventy two hours worth of content within the walls of this museum but we only have five five minutes and so we don't have time to look at all the great treasures but we're going to focus on one treasure. We're on the fourth floor. This floor tells the story of the Bible through artifacts and even starts before the Bible with just the history of writing cuneiform tablets and then it gets to a very exciting part of the museum for me and that is the part dealing with the reformation and I'm standing right next to a fascinating Bible the placard next to it identifies it as Lutheran Pastors Bible so first. Let's talk about who is Lutheran Pastor. Luther Pastor is Yohannes Hanis Vegan Haagen he was born in Poland on June twenty-fourth fourteen eighty five and he died city of Berg on April Twentieth Fifteen fifty eight as a student. He was not impressed with the reformers at all. FX He I read Luther in fifteen twenty eight when he first read Luther the arguments just did not convince him but then something happened as red luther a second time in fifteen twenty three and he was reading eating the Babylonian captivity of the Church and as he was reading that he was convicted of the truth of the Gospel and he was also convicted that he was is in the wrong church and he needed to get out of that church and go with Luther so he made his way to Berg is a great scholar so he became one of the professors at the University Edinburgh and he also became one of the pastors at the Parish Church at Saint Mary now Luther was also one of the pastors at Saint Mary's Church he two names for Buchen Haagen. He called him. Dr Pomeranians and Pomerania is the area that we know today as Poland so luther was calling him the doctor of Poland. The title that Luther had for him was my pastor. Luther needed a pastor this pastor to so many needed a pastor and he looked to Yohannes Buchen Haagen so that's the losers authors pastor part now we need Luther Pastor's Bible part and what we have here is a Latin Bible. It's beautifully printed. It's two columns and it's the Latin text the wonderful thing about this. Little treasure is it has gone. Huggins notes fall through it. There's only one note in a hand other than Bougie Hawkins and that note has two little initials after it P. M. and they stand for Philip Philip Malinche. Somehow Philip Malinche then got a hold of this Bible. Maybe he thought it was his. I don't know and he wrote a note in it. Then he signed his name to it but but all the rest of the notes belong to Bougie this was the Bible that he would have used to study. This is the Bible that he would have used for his personal reading and this is the the Bible that he would have used for his sermon preparation and this Bible was here and the Museum of the Bible. It's a testament to a number of things. It's a testament to the fact that luther sought out a pastor that he knew he needed someone to hold him accountable and not only did he say. Bougainville's huggins was my pastor. He also said Haagen was also my confessor. This was the man who held them accountable and also reminds us. That luther wasn't alone. We we sometimes have this vision of losers. He's you know Contra Mundi Luther against the world standing alone. The reality is he had colleagues and one of those colleagues was honest Bogan Haagen boob huggins legacy can be summed up in three words. Pittsburgh and the impact on Susie had vitner number two Pomeranians remembers hometown Poland. We had an impact there too on the church and the number three pastor because if he was luther pastor will then he was probably a good pastor and that's Yohannes Michigan Haagen and this is Bible and I'm Steve Nichols on location for five minutes in Church history for more ordination
