Virginia Tech keeps rolling in March Madness, tops Tennessee
"The Ohio State buckeyes of Virginia tech hokies have advanced to the elite 8 of the NCAA women's basketball tournament. Ohio State moved forward with a 73 61 win over Connecticut. Cody McMahon scored 18 of her team high 23 points in the first half as the buckeyes stopped the husky short of the final four for the first time since 2007. We looked at it as any other game and I feel like that's really what helped us not to feed in the fact that they are Yukon. This is a great program. FAU holds off Nowell and K-State to reach 1st Final Four
"Florida Atlantic, the 9th seat in the east is headed to the final four after winning the east regional final 79 76 over Kansas state. The owls were down 63 57 with 8 and a half minutes remaining, but then scored the next ten points to take the lead for good and shocked the college basketball world. If you're going to double team the good players on the other teams, both these teams pass it so well, you better rotate better than either team did in the first half, three point shooting was the biggest difference. Those 5 threes you can make. That was a plus 12. Hard to overcome that. Gonzaga needs more sags to step up, particularly on the perimeter. Julian strader needs to make some threes. "The sabers won for the second straight night and improved their playoff hopes by defeating the islanders two zero. Neither team scored until Kyle aposto beat semyon varlamov with 6 and a half minutes remaining. The former islander took advantage of a bad clear by Scott Mayfield. Jeff skinner added an empty netter and Eric comrie stopped 27 shots in his second career shutout. Can this year's Bruins really be considered NHL's best team ever?
"As the bruins approach the NHL record for points, it's a good time to look at the current record holder. The 1976 77 Canadians, those habs finished 68 and 12 for 132 points, and they did it without the benefit of overtime or shoot out, considered one of the greatest teams ever, the Canadians could have easily won anywhere from 6 to 8 of those tie games. That would give them 66 to 68 wins and 138 to 140 points under today's format. Montreal's point percentage that year was a ridiculous 8 25. I knew we had this gospel collection, but nobody had ever really looked into it. Christopher lynch is a musicologist at the center for American music at the university of Pittsburgh. We had about 140 pieces of music that didn't exist in any other library in the world. Lynch and his team discovered that pace was an early pioneer of gospel music. Herbert Jones, the founder of the heritage gospel corral, says bases archives helped secure Pittsburgh special place in music history. Pittsburgh was a stop over point for jazz musicians and from blues musicians back in the 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s. So this is another niche in the history of Pittsburgh and the music field. Gwyneth Paltrow expected to testify in ski collision trial
"Actor and entrepreneur Gwyneth Paltrow is expected to testify at her Utah trial of her man's claims that she recklessly collided with him on a ski slope years ago. Retired optometrist, Terry Sanderson, is asking a ten member jury to award $300,000 in damages, saying Gwyneth Paltrow broke four of his ribs and left him with a concussion and lasting injuries when the Oscar winner ran into him on a beginner ski run at deer valley resort 7 years ago, Thursday's testimony featured medical experts a ski companion and his daughter polygraph, who said she noticed bringing post concussion symptoms, Paltrow's attorney, Steve Owens, questioned Gresham, about emails in which Sanderson mentioned Paltrow's celebrity, and GoPro footage of the incident that is still missing and was not presented at the trial. He's famous because he collided with a celebrity, right? That's how I take that. Paltrow says Sanderson caused the crash, and his countersuing for attorney's fees and a dollar. He basically questioned his moral character, which is funny because the governor was not questioning Trump's moral character when Trump unilaterally endorsed him in a tweet, which turbocharged his campaign and elected him governor. He wasn't questioning Trump's moral judgment when Trump had to come back to Florida twice in the final two weeks of 2018 to drag Ron DeSantis across the finish line. She ranked attendance is not a likeable fellow. I think he's what you would call a cold fish. He wears ear buds to avoid human contact because he doesn't like to speak to people. He is a largely, I think, driven by his wife, correct me wrong. Wasn't it evil said to Adam bite that Apple? I think it was.

"A National Hockey League team with a Russian player has decided against wearing special warmup jerseys to commemorate pride night, citing an anti gay Kremlin law that could imperil Russian athletes when they return home. The Chicago Blackhawks will not wear pride themed warm up jerseys before Sunday's game against Vancouver. Chicago Blackhawks coach, Luke Richardson, says he hopes the decision does not take away from what the team is doing. Will Alvin Bragg Try to Arrest Donald Trump at All?
"Don't think this is going to happen that the district attorney Alvin Bragg in New York City is not going to arrest Donald John Trump. I think that he sees the writing on the wall here. Now, yesterday, a letter serviced. That seems to indicate that Donald Trump was not involved in the hush money payment to stormy Daniels. And this letter, it's pretty condemning. And this could be one of the reasons why the grand jury has not been meeting yesterday's proceedings were canceled. Today's proceedings canceled again. There's word that the district attorney may call the grand jury bank for, but not because of Donald Trump. As a matter of fact, the reporting of NBC News says that they may not even address the Trump issue until next Monday. But I think what's happened here is that team Trump has been pretty masterful at playing all of this out. They had heard the rumblings and they got out ahead of the story. But the reality here is that Michael Cohen, in this letter, it's pretty evident that he had everything to do with this and Donald Trump had nothing to do with the hush money payment made to one stormy Daniels. How to Be a Prayer Warrior for Your Children
"It's vital that we bring our children and their hearts to Jesus. Absolutely. I mean, that's the number one thing, I think, on a parent's heart and mind, right? I know that's true for gene and I, our boys are in their early 20s. We want them to have a fervent faith. Sometimes we're scratching our head. Are they there? They assure us that they know the lord, and that's good. But you always want to see more, right? It's just natural for a parent to want to see a vibrant faith and we're going to talk today about those young adults who may not be expressing that. We call them prodigals from time to time and their behavior suggests that maybe they're not close to the lord. So I'm excited that we're going to cover that topic today because many, many parents are going through difficulties with their adult children. And we hear so much heartache and grief from parents, and we're so glad our counseling team can talk to them and guide and certainly if you're there, give us a call. Our number is 800 a family. Well, doctor Irwin lutzer is pastor emeritus at moody church in Chicago. He was the senior pastor there for over 36 years. He's written a number of books, and one of those that is the basis for our conversation today is called a practical guide for praying parents. Get a copy from us here at the ministry, the details are in the show notes. Doctor lutzer, welcome back to focus. It's so good to have you. I'm so glad to be back and to have this exciting topic because no matter where I go the great burden on the hearts of parents is wayward children. Yeah. And we're going to be talking about how I believe we should pray for them and how transforming it was for me to understand a new way of praying, but we'll get into that. Well, you know, so often we as parents would carry so many burdens, you know? And there's a lot of things tugging at our children's heart, especially if they're in public schools, the things that are exposed to, it could be a daunting task to live in this modern world and be raising kids that have so much exposure to things that, you know, just two decades ago, kids didn't see. Social media pornography. You had to go find pornography. Now it finds you. Being a pastor for 36 years, it's nothing new under the sun, right? You were experiencing these kinds of things, maybe different, but children that weren't doing well with the lord. You know, one of the things that we did at moody church which I looked back upon with a great deal of joy is we designated a month that was a month in January and we called it pops, parents of prodigals, and we prayed for prodigals. Now we doubled our prayer meeting.

"How you select people on your team because that's a question a lot of young entrepreneurs give me is how do I select people and understand the different types of personality? Not everyone wants to be in charge. Some people want to be operators, some people are relational. Some people have a lot of love of process. I'm sure you learned a lot very quickly as soon as you're the one that has to assume all the risk. You know the best way I found to assess people is just always be interviewing always talk to people. I had a great business partner when I was very young, very successful multi billionaire and I remember he spent most of his time interviewing and talking to people and I took note of that. And so I've tried to emulate that, but ultimately I'm not looking for a college degree. That's right. I'm looking for someone that is tenacious that's driven that's committed. That's really a curious ferocious learner. Someone that just wants to keep learning that's diving into education, whether it be through podcast, whether it be through having great mentors, rather be through reading, whatever it is. I'm looking for that mindset. And ultimately, I look for people that are outcome driven, right? I mean, in business, there is a scoreboard. Participation ribbons really don't matter. There's a scoreboard. You know if you're winning or you're losing, it's called net income. It's your profitability. That's your insurance to get success. And so I try to find people that truly understand how to deliver outcomes. People that are competitive, I love. People that have a background in sports is very interesting to me. So I've always looked for people that are just driven and motivated.

It didn't look like he was laboring at all. I think he you know he was gas as the game wore on, And that's probably where we see some of the load management that coach but has been criticized for, although I thought he's that way too long in the second half when when Phoenix made their run, but Overall. What What really stood out to me was just the son's ability to take Milwaukee's best shot and have no problems counterpunching and then making adjustments. I thought Monte did a great job of Making sure that Janice was walled up in the lane. But also Phoenix didn't over help that it over extends. We didn't give up open threes. And you know, Milwaukee has really struggled in the postseason, shooting the ball. I mean, they were top 53 point shooting team all year decent. And then there are about 31% in the playoffs, and we just saw last night again. Just too many. Too many missed looks, Um, I'll be. It's not a lot of great ones. I thought Lopez was really good. But I want to see if I'm a box fan. I want to see less of this. Like Down the stretch holiday gives it gives us the Middleton and then we see this like mid post, so I wanted to see way more. Yeah, Honest and I want to see Holiday and Yannis playing a two man game. I just thought it was too predictable from an offensive standpoint. Well, I don't want to oversimplify Jordan, but let's face it. I feel like the Bucks are unbeatable when holiday and middle dinner actually shooting like we've seen them shoot during the regular season and in the playoffs. They just can't hit the broad side of the barn for a gamer here or game there so at some point if they haven't been consistent throughout the course of the last, let's say month. What makes them consistent now for the rest of this series? Right? No, I think that's fair. What? What What would do it is if you have you change your game plan and realize that Phoenix is an elite defensive team. And when we talk about guarding the three You know, one of the one of the ways to do it is to not over help and to have really smart, versatile defensive players, which Phoenix has, you know they have Crowder and bridges. Booker has gotten so much better defensively. I think we saw Kim Johnson last night. Do a decent job. I find to buy Milwaukee that you just have to make an adjustment, But the issue is, And this is where Bud got criticized even in the Atlantic Series when Trey wasn't 100% is They're going to play the way they play, and that's it. You know, like if it works, it looks great. And if it doesn't you know you're going to see more criticism. And what if I'm a bucks fan? What I'm really nervous about is the fact that you have these two elite closures and Chris and Devon. They might have said okay. How are we going to go about. Playing football without are two. Starting offensive tackles against tampa bay. And i guess andy. Reid was like no worries. Mike remers got it and just kind of blows my mind so like i said after the game they were expecting more man coverage. That's a whole separate conversation. We have data that said that like tampa bay gonna play zone coverage if you remember the week twelve game they were destroyed by man coverage there no doubt that they were going to see a lot of zone coverage but the offensive line stuff. Man is unforgivable. And the fact that the chiefs didn't have a counterpuncher anything that tampa bay through at them. It didn't even feel like it was remotely close to the kansas city. Offense that we've seen for the last three seasons. It was horrible and it was embarrassing for andy reid and his entire staff It's it's it's terrible.
