What's So Special About Oil?

"We're exploring a new theme on the podcast called the anointed. Anointing is taking oil and smearing it on someone. And it has a very specific purpose. Foil marks a person replaced that the bridge between heaven and earth. Cool. But why oil? Why not wine? What's going on? So what we're going to trace down in this conversation is there's a recipe for special anointing oil. You can find it in the Torah. The recipe for anointing oil is given by God to Moses on Mount Sinai. And it's not just oil, it's oil and fused with pungent aromatic spices and it makes this incredible perfume. How creations packed with these plants that if you just ate the leaf, you would not enjoy it. But you crush it. Pulverize it, we're soak it, and then it can infuse this with a taste that just is like otherworldly. Well, I think the biblical authors want us to see in this anointing oil is the life of Eden condensed into a little dense liquid. The life of Eden begins with the water of life, filling the dry ground and forming the human, and then got spirits. Fills the human. Water and spirit. Marking humanity as a place where heaven and earth are one. And so to remember that place, or even to designate a place to be like that, we anoint it with oil. There's moments when through liquid and spirit, a person a place is marked as a special portal between heaven and earth to bring about that reunion of heaven and earth in some way. And I think that's where all of a sudden all these themes come crashing together. Of the liquid life and the spirit are joined images. And that's what anointing means in the Bible.

New law allows anti-abortion monument at Arkansas Capitol

"Arkansas governor signed a new law that allows an anti abortion monument to be built at the state capitol to honor the unborn. Republican governor Sarah Sanders signed the bill into law. Her office notes the monument to the unborn will be privately funded. And the state capitol arts and grounds commission will oversee the selection of the artist and the design. The idea is to mark the number of abortions performed in the state before the roe versus wade decision was struck down last year and a near total ban took effect in Arkansas. Some lawmakers complained the idea is politically divisive. I'm Jackie Quinn

Higher cancer rates found in military pilots, ground crews

"A new study from The Pentagon finds that not only do military pilots have higher rates of cancer. So do ground crews that maintain the aircraft. A yearlong study of nearly 900,000 U.S. service members involved in aviation compared their rates of different cancers to others. And finds a 24% increase overall. When it comes to melanoma, the flight group had an 87% higher rate and thyroid cancer was 39% higher. The data has been long sought by retired military aviators who have been raising alarms for years, but were told that previous military studies found no higher rate of cancer than in the general population. The second phase of this study will isolate potential causes and look to identify carcinogens

Bob Frantz on the Epicenter of the Assault on Manhood

"So you described for us this fascinating voyage of yours after 9 11 that you kind of woke up to a new priority and then you did your own research, your own investigation of conservatives, peace through strength, the Reagan model. As such, you probably have an idea as to where the assault on masculinity on manhood comes from, where these ideas such as toxic masculinity come from. There are often options out here, so many things to choose from. The mainstream media, Hollywood, the schools, political parties, in your analysis, as you view this in the last couple of decades, where do you think the epicenter of this assault is? Where is the place where we're most of this is originating? Well, I think clearly it's the globalists. You know, it's coming from outside of this country, but with the willing assistance of those inside this country who want to see this country taken apart and who want to see it destroyed, who want to see a one world government. I'm not breaking any new ground here, especially if not for somebody like you when we talk about what it would take to destroy this country to defeat a two as what did Barack Obama call it fundamentally transform it. And as we all know, you don't fundamentally transform things, which means to change the things that you love. You want to keep the things that you love the way they are. Can you imagine trying to ask a woman to marry you and say, by the way, why don't we get married? I'm going to change you into something else that I like better. That's not going to work. You didn't love her in the first place. There are people in this country who don't love this country, who want to see a changed, who want to see it destroyed and rebuilt in a collectivist type of society, and they're working with global organizations. And I do truly believe that when you think about the Gates family foundation when you think about the World Economic Forum, when you think about the World Health Organization, all of the, you know, the usual suspects that are working to establish a one world government know that this doesn't work without the United States participation in the United States as long as we continue to remain the same civilization that we built or that we started from with again with that super strong building block of the family, we will continue to press on and we will continue to survive. We will continue to thrive.

"How you doing? Good, Charlie, good to be with you. Amy, I want to thank you for your leadership in demanding the impeachment of mayorkas. How many people are crossing the border every single day and is anything being done about it? Well, if you take this week, you're going to probably average about 6500 to 7500 a day of encounters. And then you're going to have probably another four or 5000 of got aways. This administration actually, Charlie, they're doing something about it. They're making it easier and incentivizing more people to come into the country illegally. So they give the CBP one app and they're granting parole so they're giving you these people to a two year work permit to go out and work in the country. They'll then be lost. And otherwise, I will just say our CBP agents are working their tails off trying to stop this and do what they can, but this administration was simply will not let them enforce the law and the causing every kind of problem that, I mean, we could go into the weeds and go into the ground on this thing, but secretary mayorkas must be he should either resign or be impeached. He's not going to be impeached. And just testimony from CBP chief Ortiz admitted finally, somebody admits that our border is not secure who's in that top leadership, but major York is testified at the borders operational control, which is just a flat out piece of perjury in my opinion.

UK bans TikTok on government phones on security grounds

"British authorities say they're banning the Chinese owned video sharing app TikTok from government to mobile phones on security grounds. Following similar moves by the U.S. and the EU. Cabinet office minister Oliver Daven has told parliament the ban will apply to work phones and other devices used by government ministers and civil servants. It does not apply to personal phones and devices. The moves were prompted by growing concerns that TikTok's parent company ByteDance would give user data such as browsing history and location to the Chinese government or push propaganda and misinformation on its behalf. The U.S. government, mandated last month that employees of federal agencies have to delete TikTok from all government issued mobile devices, while Belgium and some other EU countries have also temporarily banned the app from employee phones. "Let's go ahead and get into today's read. And this is part two of the future geopolitical order and Bitcoin. And initial assessment. And we are starting in on this section titled. Scenario analysis. What goes on inside is just too fast and huge in all interconnected for words to do more than barely sketch the outlines of it most one tiny little part of it at any given instant. David Foster Wallace every scenario in the arago of Pentagon wargaming starts with assumptions and artificialities, and then presents a ground truth. The former fix the parameters of the notional future, and the latter unpack the salient context and detail to examine the issue under analysis. Our assumptions and artificialities defined over the time horizon of interest. 2022 to 2030. One. Putin does not use nuclear weapons or mass use of chemical weapons beyond irritants in Ukraine. Two. Putin does not get deposed or assassinated. Though he may die of suspected disease, we assume his replacement is another style of Vicki, and won't fundamentally liberalize Russian society or change foreign policy. Three. China does not launch an unprovoked full scale invasion of Taiwan. This doesn't preclude actions against offshore islands like dong Ying, pratas, or other provocative moves in the South China Sea. Four. The Chinese Communist Party remains in power. Most likely with Xi at the helm, but this is not assumed. 5. No new breakthrough technologies or scientific discoveries are made that change the fundamental productivity or energy capacity of society, or destabilize human social order. For example, UAP disclosure. 6. No existing nuclear powers collapse or engage in nuclear hostilities. For example, Pakistan or North Korea, and new nuclear powers, examples of Saudi Arabia and Iran do not engage in nuclear conflict. 7. No debilitating attacks on global Internet infrastructure are launched. This includes cyberattacks, cable cuts to undersea fiber links, destructive anti satellite attacks, et cetera 8. No new COVID variant or other pandemic brings civilization back into a 2020 state of lockdown or worse. 9. The global food fertilizer system does not collapse and lead to multi continent famine, killing more than 5 to 10% of world population. I've been highlighting the great work of this great nonprofit relief organization for years. And right now, worldwide the perfect storm of economic decline loss of work, skyrocketing food prices, children are starving and food for the poor has people on the ground in Haiti, Honduras, the Caribbean, all over the world, and I told you Friday we were behind in our spring campaign. Our goal pretty modest goal of $40,000 and we were less than half that, well, you got us over the hump on Friday. Do you know that a $144 will feed two children for two meals a day for a year? That's an amazing way that you can start your work week. I hope you'll take a moment if you're listening to my voice. Please go to Mike online dot com and give whatever you can afford to give on the give food, give life bright red banner at the top of the page. And let's make a difference in the world. The ADF rebels are accused by the UN and rights groups of maiming raping and abducting civilians, including children, local politician, Emile saidi spoke to the AP. Here three or four days do not go by without us recording deaths, the result of barbarity of ADF terrorists. Because I think some of these people represent the middle ground of America. The Central America and I say Central America, people that are not. On either side, they're kind of like in the middle. The independent voter, and that's what we're going to have to consider when we go into the selection. It's like, how can we get more people from the other side too? We don't have to kiss their rear end. But at the same time, are we going to get some people over there? Are we just going to be polarized on our side alone? And all other people that are in the middle and in a Democrat, they're going to hate Trump so much that they're going to just vote for a Democrat just to vote against Trump.

"We are in our march food for the poor campaign, a Christian ministry that is saving lives all over the world. These children throughout the world are being blessed by your gifts. And as we head into the weekend, we're so close to getting to the halfway point. Our goal is $40,000. It's a big goal, but we'll get there. We're going to get there. I know we have our own problems, but it's safe to say that none of us face conditions like what children and families on the ground in places like Honduras and Haiti, Guatemala, Jamaica go through. I've been there. I've seen children eating just out of filthy bulls. No food, no nourishment, but you can change that. I'm so impressed that already we have about $18,000 raised. We got a long way to go. Our goal is 40,000. I want you to bless our campaign by getting us over at least the halfway point. Please get us over $20,000 today. For a gift as little as $47, you'll be able to feed two starving children twice a day for an entire year. Do you know how great that's going to make you feel? You're going to feed two starving kids two hungry children. For $47, that's two meals twice a day for an entire year. That's a game changer. Trust me, your gift in any amount will not only save lives, but you'll feel great too throughout the entire week, and you're going to do some like I like to say you can do a little bit of God's work. You're going to spread the love and joy of God and Jesus Christ. Through our Christian ministry partners, food for the poor. And all we need, we just need a hundred people. If I can touch a hundred hearts today, we'll be well over our halfway point of our goal.

This is the kind of craziness that we're living with now in our hyper connected social media age. You're going to start seeing more and more of these kinds of things. Social influencers only fans stars more and more coming into these kinds of horrific violent crime stories, not because only fans leads you to violence, but because now there's so much of it that it's just the law of averages. Sooner or later, we were going to get these kind of stories. And it makes you makes you wonder, what happens to people when you're in your teens or 20s and you're suddenly making hundreds of thousands of dollars a month. And it seems like there are no rules, right? Everything goes, and also, and here's the thing I want you to think about. You're making that money in a way that doesn't seem real. Isn't there a sort of like an unreal video game quality to all of it? All of these things seem not a 100% real, but the consequences are real, you know, the blood was real. It's a very strange time to be alive. It really, really is. You know, there are a lot of people who are not steeped in knowledge of how money works and how money can get gone. And how money can actually make your life miserable if you're not, if you're not careful. And I think whether it's somebody who's an only fans, star, or somebody who just came into the NBA, all of a sudden, this money is falling out of the sky, and you're right, it doesn't seem real, but in the back of the minds of some of these poor folks, the feeling is I can go out and spend every cent that I'm making now. 'cause it's always going to be coming in like that. And that's not the case. And then factor it like an athlete is out on a field or a court playing a real game. If you're selling sex or whatever on only fans, that's not real in the same way, right? You're in your bedroom. Yeah, it's easy to forget that what you're creating is a real artifact and affects real people. I think we are in for a world of consequences for people in that space. My parents lived there, spent a week with them, found this out. The best time I ever had my life every night as a kid in front of the TV with my mom and my dad. Watching my dad try to stay awake past 9 o'clock. Every night, 8 o'clock in the recliner eyeballs icing up. A 15 minor head bob, two to three inches. 8 30 Ray Charles. Quarter Donna, and out like a light 9 o'clock we're in the kitchen with a can of ready whip. So I used to do that. You could do anything like that with sleep and set the dog on fire, tie up mom, have a beer or anything. Except for change that channel. What are you doing, Casey? I'm watching this show. Like, come on, dad. I've seen this one. They don't get off the island. My dad was tired 'cause he worked hard. He was an auto worker, Bill cars. He come on mad. Won't you kiss you all? They were like, nothing. Got built a hundred cars. Then we got older and cocky. He's like, what's your kids do all day? I'm like, dad, you know what I'm cars you've been building? Wrecked one. See, now you're up to a hundred and day, y'all be able to fix that one a half an hour. 'cause you the main. My mom, the woman, she would not stop working Saturday morning, 6 o'clock in your bedroom right on the vacuum. Now you go back to sleep. You wouldn't even know I'm in here. Come on, there wouldn't floors. Mom gave us a lot of jokes, remember grouping off in front of them at the relatives? Well, you want me to come over there and slap you. My all time favorite act your age. Like, all right, I'm 8. My grandpa told who told me to do that, try that on my parents, didn't work out so well. I had a great grandfather. Anybody else have a cool grandfather? Sure. Grandpa's are great. They can do things as kids would only dream of do. Yeah. Like, tell my dad to sit down and shut up. Remember that day? Like, dad, grandpa says, sit down, be quiet. Here he comes, here he comes. You're gonna get us both grounded. Wouldn't that be cool your dad's grounded or not? Outside knocking on the window. "Alongside with me is Alex bars as always and hopefully my voice makes it through the rest of this show because I can already tell that it is about to go after three straight days of being on air for both of us. It seems like I make it through this show. I went out for my morning coffee run this morning Alex and I heard the great voice of real Alex barth on 98 5 this morning with Ted Johnson. We're both grinding away here and we're going to discuss the day three picks for the Patriots and the draft. That's going to be the focus of this show. If you want to go watch us break down cold strange or taekwon Thornton and Marcus Jones on day two, we already did those podcasts on Friday and on Saturday. So you can go ahead and see in the depth breakdowns on those guys. We are going to circle back at the end of the show and discuss the draft as a whole and that will get into the top picks again at that point as well. But I want to start with the day three guys. Those are the guys that we haven't talked about at least since they've been drafted by the Patriots and we'll start right here at four one 21 Alex fourth round pick cornerback Jack Jones from Arizona state probably the most predictable pick of the entire draft for the Patriots to be just due to the fact that the Patriots did an immense amount of public homework on the player. It's one of the first times I can remember in a long time where the Patriots were all over the player and the pre draft process and then they ended up actually drafting him with a top one 50 pick. You know, sometimes we hear about these guys and they end up coming here as UDF a's or 6th rounders or something like that. But to have a top 30 visit, then have a visit in Tempe in Arizona with Jack Jones and then to actually make the pick here in the fourth round. This one was the most predictable pick of the draft. I was actually surprised by this. Not totally surprised they took them. He wasn't the only Arizona state corner they worked out, right? They worked out chase Lucas. I actually liked Lucas better. I liked Lucas better and I thought they would like Lucas better. I really did. So I'm not surprised like overall like I didn't see Jack Jones name and be like really they took him, but I don't know, I thought Lucas especially in that spot made a lot more sense..

"Grandpa's birthday weekend for me. Both of my grandparents, my grandfathers. Birthdays are this weekend. My grandpa Carl is on April 8th. My grandpa chuck, who my middle name is named after Charles, is would have been a hundred and two, but he died in 1993 when he was 73, so. But shout out to both ground. I was blessed with very great grandfathers. Not great, I guess I had great grandfathers too. Wonderful grandfather, that's a better way to put it. You know, nice men, smart men, they always excited to take me places and do stuff and teach me golf or fishing or all that kind of stuff. Great, great childhood memories of those two guys. So shout out and happy birthday to both grandpa Carl still here. Grand chuck. Not anymore. Happy to be with you guys and obviously a weekend preview edition of the show. Clearly, way too much to weekend preview in our normal 35 to 45 minute allotment, but we will try our best. We will get to it. I appreciate you guys tuning in all throughout the week. I know I was on the road for much of the week in terms of shows, but it was great having Gabe and Peter. I thought it was kind of fun to have a little bit of a themed week based around that event and me being down there. And obviously, Pete and Gabe, we were part of that same event, but I thought we did enough to have two different conversations, Pete's with recapping Florida Derby day and Gabe's kind of looking ahead to pomp and those last couple of weeks and the we're talking about the match race and obviously his future. And I saw a lot of hardest folks saying they listened to the show and like the interview with Gabe and so that was great to have some new folks. If you're a harness fan that found the show through that interview, the welcome back. We generally talk through a bread racing here on the show. I would say 90 7% of the time. We'll slip into harness a couple percent of the time. Back in the day, we used to do a fair bit of Greyhound when I first started with bed America. They actually sponsored a race called the better America 5 50 and I think it was it was it at Palm Beach or Jackson. I forget, but anyways, yeah, like gray island racing was like a big part of the America model back in the day. So remember, we had Mike Jameson on and Eric from united greyhounds. We were your go to listening spot for Greyhound racing analysis. I knew nothing about it, but I'll never forget one of the funniest things I've ever heard was it mobile park Greyhound. This was probably 2018 ish, 2017 ish in that ballpark. And I remember playing the audio on the show. I couldn't tell you what show it was, but I was waiting to do an interview with someone, and I had like 5 minutes, so I had to call, but I was all set up. And so I was like, oh, what's the next race coming up? Oh, it's mobile Greyhound. And the race starts, and it sounds like it's some kid who probably worked at the popcorn stand, who they told to go up and announced next few races, because you know, he's just like, one, three, 8, four. Into the turn. One, four, 8, three. You know, like that kind of thing. And not dogging his race calling skills, but it was obvious that was not his thing. So the race comes up and halfway through the race, the lure, the bone, Sparky, or Billy or whatever you want to call it, just stops and the dogs all catch it. And the guy called the race goes, you know, they're on the turn, one, three, 5, 7, and then he pauses when it happens. He goes, oh damn. And then clips off the mic. Oh man, I remember just losing it, then I had to call somebody to do an interview and I was like, I need a minute because I'm not gonna be professional until I finish laughing about this, but oh, good days doing the old bed America's show. So we can preview. And like I said, we will get to as much as we can and obviously next Monday, it'll take us more than a show to get through it. Why don't we start with Santa Anita just because I feel like it's gonna be the quickest. The card is not great. The keelan card is a monster, an absolute monster, and obviously the person creases I mentioned yesterday, which I didn't remember that being a thing, but apparently it is. It's going to do that, right? Like you're going to end those horses have to be coming from somewhere. I'm guessing Oak Lawn will have a lot of those horses over coming over. And I mean, maybe naira, and of course all the Kentucky regular circuit horses are going to be there, but Saturday's card is just stuffed with entries. And for good reason, they're running for huge money and it's keen to premier meat as well as the whole big money thing. So very much looking forward to that card. I looked at the stakes races and we'll talk about those, but even the undercard races are sensational. Absolutely sensational. Aqueduct just looked at stakes as well, and we'll talk about those. San Anita, I kind of scan through the whole card thinking, oh, let's take a peek and I'm like, man, it's just not. I want to love and support San Anita. And I try to every time we can, but it's just not an exciting card. And small fields, there's some dominant looking horses in there. And I realize it steaks days. Especially like state breadsticks days, you're going to get races like that sometimes. And I don't even mind if there's a dominant favorite or two in a pick 5 sequence. First of all, you can try to beat them, but second of all, like, okay, you know, there's still three or four good races to tie into this and it makes exciting and there's just a good field size a major, major issue, and also, you know, and field size is a bit of a misnomer sometimes. Because there's times where you'll have 8, 9, ten in a race. And it feels like, oh, this is a good full field exciting race. But in reality, three or four of those horses are the real contenders, right? It's not a wide open 9 horse field or ten horse field. It's just not. And a wide open 7 or 8 sometimes is more intriguing from a betting perspective than that big one where there's just 5 complete tosses in there. Now granted, complete tosses can sometimes get in there and what have you, but and you are still having money spread around a little bit more. I mean, I'd rather have a ten horse field where 7 or 8 are legit contenders than a 7 or 8 horse field where 7 or 8 are electric contenders if that makes sense. But a 7 or 8 legit contenders race versus a ten horse field with three contenders or two. You know, it's not as exciting as the number could see. But I do think that a lot of horse players see the 5s and 6s and I remember one time there was an analyst at a track, I won't say where. But he told me he goes, I said, man, it just sucks the fields are so small. And he goes, well, I think the horse players are getting used to that. And I was like, oh, I said, that's a wrong answer. I said, you know, first of all, I don't know how you don't have to get used to it in a sense. You don't have to change your handicapping acumen. You might have to change your betting a little bit, but yeah, I'll never forget what he said that. I was like, I don't know, man. I feel like we have no other choice, so we're force fed it. That might be more accurate statement, but anyways, well, the sanity of Derby on paper build is a bit of a two horse.

"Crashed while attending an emergency landing in Las America's international airport shortly after departing doctor Joaquin balaguer airport. I don't know. Have no idea. I'm trying to bail you out there, but of course my Evernote crashed. Oh. Sure. That sounds like a excuse. You just wanted to let you struggle through that one. The intended destination was Orlando, the Dominican investigative body, junta de aviation Seville, released some findings of the investigation on January 18th, 2022. He said, this is a, quote, Google translation of the initial findings. Keep the blue side up. Tailwinds and unlimited visibility Jose Enrique is enriquez. I think I did a better job of it at the beginning of this. That's good. Okay. So this is from the aviation accident investigation commission. Let's see, let me get to the good stuff here. So the according to the investigation, the two pilots, the cabin attendant and 6 passengers suffered fatal injuries. As a result of the impact and that the weather conditions, at the time of the accident were favorable. The first flight of the aircraft that day left Puerto Rico and once it arrived in the Dominican Republic, and after the passengers got off the plane, communication was established between the aircraft crew and the helo doza company. I don't know. That would be pronounced. Well, what do you think, Rick? Trying to say here, we're still out. He moved now he's down in the highlighted highlighted section. The first highlighted paragraph hella dosa helling Hillary dosa. Sounds good. Yeah. All right. Who reported that the right wing ground spoiler actuators were going to be changed before the next flight, which would be to Orlando, Florida in the United States, continuing to Cleveland, where the crew would spend the night. Marte bianchini also reported that according to the investigation, the security cameras at the doctor Joaquin balaguer international airport showed that the aircraft was towed to the hangars, owned by the company, and that the work carried out on the right wing extended for approximately three hours. During that time the passengers who had traveled to Orlando waited in the VIP terminal of the airport, the investigative commission was able to verify that a similar aircraft was on the main ramp as a reserve to be used in case the maintenance work was not completed. But according to statements by a senior executive of the helo dose a company, the passengers required to carry out the flight on that particular particular plane. That kind of highlighted that in pink, I'm not sure why that would be so important that they used that exact plane. Maybe they liked the paint job better or something. Upon completion, did you guys hear that? Yes. Yes. That was me. Sorry. No, because it came in so loudly, I figured it must have something to do with something I have set up here. Somebody comes to me, just now and I'm going to read your brain from saying all of them. Okay. Upon completion of maintenance, security cameras show activity under the aircraft's right wing with spoiler movements on both wings and upon completion. The aircraft is towed to the main ramp and prepared for flight at Orlando. The sea should be two Orlando, I think. The CIA found that before, and during the shoot, the security cameras show movements in the flight controls, both ground spoilers went up, and only the ones on the left wing retracted. The three spoilers on the right wing stayed extended. A video made by a witness from the castle stadium. Okay. Shows that in flight, the aircraft continued with the spoilers of the right wing up. While those are the left wing look like they are attracted. According to the investigation. The recordings of the aircraft were the control tower at that moment. The first officer stated that he had a hydraulic problem, and later reported problems related to the flaps, then declared an emergency and requested vectors to direct him back to the international airport, as the situation progressed they decided to divert to the loss Americas international airport, where they were authorized to land in a south north direction on runway three 5. And after passing the head of said runway and turning left, they hit the trees and then the terrain on the right side of the track about 200 meters. The total duration of the flight was about 15 minutes. Okay, so that first slide Liz, I think taken from one of the security cameras. And you can see that the airplane taxiing out and clearly you see the spoilers, the ground spoilers on the right wing are in the opposition. And that looks like it. Which is really interesting. I mean, a lot of I mean, I don't know, I've never flown a G four, and I don't know what the yeah, not only that, but the fact that often times on bigger airplanes, we have what's called roll spoilers. And so if you command a role with a certain direction, then you're going to get the aileron and the roll spoilers come up. But if you look at the picture that was just on there a little while ago, you'll see that only the spoilers only the spoilers are up on the aileron is flush. But then again, I don't know if this is even equipped with roll spoilers at all. So that just does not look right right away. And then just what you said stuff. The fact that is there a fly control position indicator or their flag control position transducers that show what the position of the flag controls is in real time, which is something that would be helpful in this situation. I don't know if you'd be able to look out the window and kind of see the wing and maybe I don't know, again, I've never flown the kind of airplanes. I have no idea. It seems to me, I haven't either. But that seeing it from the cockpit looks to me like it would be impossible or difficult to so from that angle. Yeah. Cockpit windows there. So probably not. Yeah, unless you opened up the if they have an openable window up there that you can stick to. You don't have to have some indication on the ground then to stick your head out the window and look to the difficult to notice. So I'm assuming that everything that they were seeing and on their display panels were indicating that everything was normal because, you know, you wouldn't purposely take off if you knew that there was something. Wrong. Yeah. And these positioning the carriers are pretty straightforward and the way they work is just they basically work proximity sensors. So if something is if something is in a position where it shouldn't be, it'll show. And if you don't have a flight control synoptic page or a way of seeing what the position of the collect control is, then I imagine there'd be some kind of configuration warning. Is that like a limit switch, Rick? Or like a Halifax sensor? You got me there. I have no idea. There's got to be some kind of because usually the way these sensors work is by crossing lines of flux and that that is what is going to give a system the idea or the data input to let it know that a flight control surface or something that needs to be the position of something is close to something else. So once those lines of flux get crossed, now again might be older type technology. I'm sure there's newer stuff now. But the technology is pretty straightforward, whether it's new or old. And if there's no flag control synaptic page or a light or some kind of configuration warning about, how would you know? And if you can't look at the window, do you get on the airplanes that you fly? Do you get feedback from the actuator and a separate position indication? Feedback from the actuator and what way? What the autopilot on or off? Either way, are there any indications of actuator health? Aside from just a position of the flap or whatever. So yes and no. So we do have a flight control synoptic on all the Boeing Jets have flown. And during flight without a pilot on, we have what are called so the yoke. And the rudder pedals. Are connected to what are called background actuators. So those, so the autopilot, the autopilot director system is going to.

"I don't think i could have written a more appropriate class for where we are right now. Had i thought about it for months as you probably know if you've been listening i am replaying the series that i originally wrote in july of twenty twenty and the series was written as we were in the midst of cova pandemic. I'm gonna call kovic pandemic number one. The unbelievable heartbreak and unrest and social justice movement. After george floyd's murder. Back in june of twenty twenty and i think a lot of us were really stuck in these heavy anxiety. Filled unknown future filled feelings. And here we are again and our kids are in school. Cova numbers are skyrocketing. Afghanistan is heartbreaking. Palestine is heartbreaking. It is just pandemic after pandemic after pandemic humanitarian crisis after humanitarian crisis. And i'm gonna guess your hardest breaking game minus and i don't have anything particularly beautiful to say. I don't have anything to offer in terms of an answer. But i will say that i am leaning as always very deeply into my practice for support right now and i hope that it offers you the same sense of bolstering of both grounding us to the earth into ourselves and uplifting us enough to keep going and as you know i believe very very firmly that our practice is not meant to sequester us in our quiet little house on our quiet little cushions but is in fact meant to awaken us to what's needed in the world and then to actively respond to that need as we get started today this practice. I titled love the tangle. And i think about that title..

"I'll pull up to the arena. I get a phone call from one of my best rates. He late many killed. I'm like what on march thirty first. Two thousand nineteen nipsy. Hustle was gunned down outside his marathon clothing store for many nipsy was a rapid from south los angeles originally. He was so much more than that. Entrepreneur gangland activists philanthropy for generation of young black men who became nba all stars. Nipsy hustle was a friend and an inspiration. I leaned on his music during my dope times. During my darkest times it was my superior. I say. only guys. I've really had a my generation was barack obama new nba players vibe with nipsy. Never give up mentality what he called the marathon. I've noticed that specifically athletes react to the message in the also. I think like you know they come from the same environment. They going through the same struggle. We was both grinding in different fields. And you know just trying to get to the tile with no handouts how motivate. I mean at that. Eight like the ethos of being an elite athlete. I don't know what is it really does feel that it's connected to how hard you gotta hustle. If you're an athlete or if you're a rapper. but it wasn't just about what nipsy said. It was about what he did for his people and his community opening businesses and bringing economic opportunity to south. La was always a constant conversation of. how can we motivate. Can we aspire the next set of guys that didn't have nobody in the nba. Many players were looking at like well how to extend the pedestal. That i have. How do i take this platform and do something with it. We need a model for it and was right there with that model. He did the thing that we all say that we're going to do. You don't see a lot of people who then stay in the community and also trying to build it at the same time. He's going to be impossible to talk about the history of south. La and not all mention mitt. I don't even know if he realized how big he was if he realized how many people related to what he was speaking on. How many people he inspired. I think he left us. A blueprint for what worthiness looks like. You know life is really a marathon from thirty for thirty podcasts. The undefeated this is the game show. I'm just intensely senior reporter for the undefeated in this four part series. I explored the intersection of hip hop basketball. The shared experiences of black men in america and why nipsy tragic death of a hole in the heart of his fans and friends but also left them a game plan to keep going coming august twenty third..

"We had the president. Thomas bach was out at the course on saturday. He's hanging out with jay monahan. I don't know if jay's any campaigning or anything but those are some heavy hitters in there hanging out together. I think i think we'll see a team. Format down the road and holy cow could be really cool. Anyone who impressed you. That did not end up on the medal. Stand great question Well this might seem like a cop out but patrick read. I mean the guy steele came here. didn't have to and i think for those who don't like patrick read You don't you didn't have your own commute to japan this week. I had a hellish commute. Doug ferguson had absurd commute. Sean martin had an absurd communities are gulf writers. Patrick reid had to fly commercial over here to like. There was nothing easy about getting to this olympics for everyone involved. Patrick reed did it He impressed me. Who else impressed me. Let's see i think. Ct pan. I'll say that ct pans wife. Oh she caddied for him. She got to the sixteenth t. Now mind you. Hundred and four degree heat index. Yesterday this after caddying forsake for c. throat the full extent of the week. He got in here before like before the The prior weekend. So she's been out here with him in the heat. It's it's really really hot. She gets to the sixteenth. T. and probably isn't totally thinking about metal. She's just thinking about finishing vis caddy job. She's she says she like exhales putting the bag down and this was a carry bag. Mind you this wasn't even a full tour bag that that Salvos wife was carrying. But she's like okay. Three more son is sons beating down and you know their husbands are both grinding. Like truly grinding But both husbands are like pulling three and four clubs out of the bag as they walk from the tee box to their approach shots just to make it a little bit lighter on them and She was she was just like interesting to watch because she's grinding but also just trying to finish his sons beaner down. She impressed me and she was really great. And gracious all through the night Obviously husband wins bronze-medal so she didn't have she'd have just three more. She had like seven more. She didn't know whether she nor c. T. is a particularly large in stature. I would say they are not tiny people. They're not tremendous people in size but people seemed really singer praises like almost universally And then who disappointed you this week. This feels unfair. Because i think he. He showed such excitement to be here and a lot of just. He's he's kinda showed. Excitement of what the olympics this entire time but justin thomas. I was really excited for him to turn that excitement into really good golf. And he started seventy one seventy. Thank you disappointed in gosh. She's so bummed He never got it going. He got going on sunday. Of course when it did matter shot sixty five Finished his t twenty two. This is like this was kind of like at the masters If you missed the cut because you shouldn't miss the cut if you're a good player at the masters there's really only sixty players In that field that are really good. And i think it's top fifty and ties move onto the weekend at augusta There's so many old dudes in the field this field. You can look at it in a somewhat similar way like campiello flew over here superlight. If you don't beat him that's on you. Rafael compass flew over here. Superlight if you don't beat him. He's a lesser player than you and.

"In the third from that you're in you told the anti aircraft guns and you get on you blow the kanada this guy and they learn rocket takes like skinny really complex a. I like it i think. I think it's getting complex because there are a lot of possibilities there yet but so much gameplay like unlike a lot of the other games that we've come up within the last few weeks this is heavy on the game play. This is all about like the different. Could see all the different. And i could see this. Look i can see these. Taking offense like a new popular multiplayer thing. And i liked that. It's around something other than just kill everyone else you know. Combat was one blossoming. We actually put into the game. Like a junky fuck but the trading mechanics. That's like perfect or this. I think you'd start salvaging just the salvaging and stuff and yeah. I'm imagining that. You need to sort of go over to the The grain silo and sorta strip that down and 'cause it's got both grind and also is kinda tank shape that is easy to sort of mold. The metal. Into like fuel tanks for your. Yeah look i think. I think it just gives you a lot of like the the metal paneling race races to innate. Probably something like that You d d netapp's check that out of it. But he i i think essentially what you do is you. We're going to be offered here and you get a little if you're on that team like if you've established an alliance with that team or whatever you get the You know the little outline of where they're gonna go. And then you sort of you just bringing as long as you bring all the pieces there then it will get built essentially bought. You know depending on your skills and he clauses. It might take more or less time obviously than just all the challenge of actually getting the stuff there and protecting it and then once once you know the team honest two minutes is happening in the silo opens.

I'm trying to fly on that day. When i'm on takeoff tried to to find a place where i have a little bit privacy not too many people around. I need that. That's very important for me. I'm always most of the time accord with friends but we go somewhere else. Not where where. Another fifty pilots are are You know sitting around and asking questions and all these things. So then before takeoff I always visualized my flights in the minds island. I also ask for this plan to come through so on more than the which will type of guy. Can you give us some details with. What does that look like. And it also gives us details on the visualization as that. You're literally seeing yourself. Climb up or is it more. You're just visualizing okay. I'm starting here. And i'm going to get there and kind of work down through your flight plan. Okay the The exercise i do before each before such a fly or before a test flight is just an exercise. I prepared for my own. So i also I asked for the protection of divine omnipotence. And my spiritual faith will just wanna i just wanna try to stay old time my own to to rule by someone else or whatever i wanna i wanna be on my own and Also.

"Remain in the air. Before i go lan so. I'm not suggesting people follow these rules. But i'm suggesting it's it's it's worked out for me to setup rule of thumb and observe over years whether those make sounds and and one of them i had to give up. Which was there is always going to be a place to land on. I decided that is not true for me. There is not always a place to land. I'm gonna. I'm not gonna i wanna see where i land before committing to a valley off-land. Yeah i would. I guess i would put the disclaimer on the blue part with every situation is different and you said but i can think of a few times know certainly in the in a desert environment which is very very different from the alps we can get massive sells a long ways away and stuck out. Cold air attack us. If you can stay in the air you might be okay but if you decide you know you need the land and you get hit in. That gust front. It could be very blue where you are. But you're suddenly the one. The one experience. I've had in the alps that was similar to this was We were flying from fee. Sh-she down to kinda cour and then we actually made it over and we were heading into davos. And so down the rhine basically and we were on the. I think we're on the north side of the ryan heading heading east and all day. There was a huge sell on the italian side That would have been kinda down towards saint moritz but on the on the italian side and really really big. You know this was one of these where it went up into the upper atmosphere and started spreading out and where we were just brilliant really beautiful but we kept it was with bruce and we kept talking another going. What do you think of that thing hand. I don't know it's getting. It's really vertical while yeah but it's at least forty fifty miles away which is unusual. Be able to even see in in the alps. You don't get that tall most of the time and so often these cells are are you. Don't even see them now. They might be on the side of the of the of the main spine of the alps in you. Don't even see but this one we could see because it was so big it was so tall and but it was just brilliant so at cooler okay. Let's keep going and we got over. The range in davos is down below us and we were both like that's enough. We've we've pressed this far enough in. We both spiraled the ground. Really fast and touchdown literally about thirty seconds before the gust front hit so this thing had finally exploded and started running down the valleys and we found we got on the train and we are heading back to fees and we found out there was i think the swiss open or some some pretty big comp was had been you know going that day in two people i believe i think one died another one and in the trees because they got hit in that gust front and so just a again anecdote. But it's you know one of these kind of you know there's always there's always an exception i think if there's fixed around you gotta be thinking how how much how far can i press this. We certainly press it a lot in the x. apps and there's been a bunch boy house close but to be to be clear when i'm saying blue-sky i mean blue sky and oftentimes when you have that kind of storm when you're talking about the envel- extends out for an you know the cirrus clouds from the angle that is not blue-sky so k. Oh good okay good different. Yeah that's that's important dimension. If if and i believe there are exceptions to the rule but the role as work. Pretty well for me and oftentimes. It's the big storms. It's the anvil that that takes away the balloon now a good point and it was probably a bit by the time we landed. While i remember this can start raining pretty quick time we your dialed down out of the sky was getting gray. Not too good one. I like that. Do you have any other of these kind of yatom. I have one which is applies mainly to fly as mentioned what flatland flying like one one that works for me very well in in the flatlands. Like in ito or in the northeast of rozelle as like the two zones. Like if i'm higher than a hundred meter above ground i'm in you know i'm i'm gunning it and if i'm lower than a hundred meters above ground in survival mode and i'm in survival mode the there the rule of thumb that's you know that's the well-known one that i follow which is never leave lift to search for lift so if i'm and for me in this revival moated that the border is strict eight marinas both ground. I'm not gonna leave lift to look for better lift. I'm going gonna wait until i'm higher than eight hundred meters brown and yvonne above a hundred meters above ground. I'm gonna snob anything that is slower than the average. I'm knockin attorney anything. That's that slower than two meter in the. That's that's going up slower than two meters or whatever the average day. Yeah that's actually that sorta tune gears. That worked really well for me in the flatlands to being disciplined on on the survival mode to not not be optimistic but be pessimistic. And when i'm in the upper layer. I'm optimistic and the outs. It doesn't work out that while because you can't set a high above ground or altitude That doesn't work so well. But in flower but i think he can still have. I think you can still have that rule. I like that. I think in in you know when you're in the mountainous terrain just have a a nice clean cut off between survival and and gun in it and it often. We wouldn't have that eight hundred because we're right on the terrain but we're still really high right over the peaks or something you know. If we went out over the valley we'd have two thousand. Yeah yeah. I like that. You can still. I think you can still do it. But it takes a takes. More fine tuning am i. It went zone. I might now in. And it's it's very tempting to not admit that you're already in survival zone or or very tempting to remain in survival mode too long worked at. I find it more difficult to to set a clear dividing line between the two. Let's return real quickly rica to your your your v One in the list of you.

davos two thousand two meter two meters ryan two people two eight hundred one ito bruce saint moritz eight marinas two zones both about thirty seconds both ground forty fifty miles flatland italian
