"I think, yeah. So I think we've talked on the show before about how I just, I just think hockey guys are the best. I've been around a lot of pro athletes, hockey guys, to me, are the best. We had a Jersey raffle, a Jersey auction last night, Springfield. The players come on the ice, we auction off their jerseys. They're just the nicest guys. The whole team is just freaking great. And as we mentioned, shout out to 98 5 the sports up for their pucks and paddles, fundraiser, look like a great success, great time. The event was to raise funds for the Massachusetts special Olympics, which obviously is just such an important cause. Who's held at the House of blues there in Boston, which is also a great place to see a show. But it just looked like a great time and it looks like the player is just one of those things that the players just love doing, love giving back to the community. Just look like an absolute home run. Yeah, absolutely. They do this every year and it brings in a lot of great money for the tremendous folks at special Olympics. Our own black and gold productions writer Daniel Dubois was in the house, covering the event. So and she posted a really good article about her experience there on the black and gold hockey dot com website. Yeah, I mean, it's just shows how good these guys are. Pro athletes, just giving back to the community. And doing what's best for fundraising efforts. And like you said, it looked like a tremendous time from all the images, the tweets and stuff that I've seen online. So another successful fundraiser. And like I said, it's a great cause. Special Olympics is something that I contribute to every year I give about a $100 every year. And to other charities as well. So, but yeah, it's just a tremendous effort from the Boston Bruins team and just shows that these guys are real, they're not just pros on the ice, but they're also stellar humans and do great things for the community. And I know that it's not I know that it's not 19 70s where Jerry cheevers is fighting the entire Montreal Canadiens, but isn't it is it always people say the game soft now and it's definitely softer, I guess, but when most cider gets a puck to the face and he goes, he lands on the ice in a heap, isn't it nice that the first guy to check on him to make sure he's already sponsored? I just think hockey guys are just so nice that they're they'll smack each other in the face and then drop the gloves and beat the hell out of each other and then make sure the other guys are right. You know, how many fights end respectfully because one guy's going down and the other guy grabs a shirt to make sure he doesn't smash his head on the ice.

Bruins' 10-game win streak snapped by Oilers
"Edmonton Oilers came back and defeated the Boston Bruins three to two and snapped the bruins ten game winning streak. Boston scored in the first shot of the game, and in the final second of the first, but they were scored the next three, including the game winner by Darnell nurse with four 49 left in the third. We just kept playing. So emphasis on finding the next one, but not giving up anymore. So we were focused tonight. Everyone was out there just doing everyone's job and it was great to see. In net for the oilers Stuart skinner made 26 saves and handed the bruins just their third home loss in regulation this season. Break it out,

What you're doing, what you're doing against the Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens is you're taking the rivalry away and you're forced in it towards Toronto. No, I agree. So before we get into our agenda and what we got going on for the show, we do have a pretty substantial birthday yesterday that we want to talk a little bit about Mark. Why don't you tell us who we're given happy birthday shout outs to? I wanted to give a shout out to mister milch Schmidt and he is a legend in the Boston Bruins organization. Obviously passed on now. But millet was a four time Stanley Cup champ. She was a player who was a GM. 1951 Hart trophy winner. 1939 40 NHL assists at point leader 1996 Lester Patrick trophy winner and a four time NHL all star and just one of the nicest people that this Boston beer went to organization has had within its history, the almost a hundred years, milt was born in 1918. Bertuzzi sets up goal in Bruins' 4-2 win over Rangers
"The Boston Bruins scored once in the first, added a shorthanded goal in the second, and added two more in the third for a four two win over the New York rangers. Charlie Coyle started the scoring for Boston in the first, and then assisted on the bruins second goal. Everyone's calm, everyone knows what the task is and if things aren't working, we just, you play a simple style and play the right way and usually that works out for us. So I think it's just not always being perfect. Only you can be perfect, but just no one. What it takes is that given time and we've been doing that. Both Patrice bergeron and David pasternak added a goal each for the bruins and the third, while in

I think that's going to be less prospects and possibly more like NHL roster players that would have to go the other way. And I don't think that's a good move. For the future of this Boston Bruins team? Sure, absolutely. I'm for it. Jacob trigger now for this Boston Bruins team and what we're doing right now with 83 points in 51 games. I don't think that's a good idea to get a defenseman in now and like lose a player like Jake or Fabian lysol or mason lorai, where Arizona is going to want something back. You know, they're going to want building blocks to get back and they're rebuilding team. That seems very building for years, but still, you know, I think it's Bill Bill Armstrong. I think that's the GM out in Arizona. He's not a stupid guy. You know, he's going to want to get assets back for one that's leaving. Great question though, Jason. He comes back into with, would you consider a smitty polari swap? Kinda a change of scenery for both players, both UFA. I really haven't seen much of poly RV. Something I'm going to have to investigate a little bit more. I just think that Polly ivy right now is a better player all around player. Over Smith, regardless of smith's good play recently. Something to look at or maybe even something that the B and G crew might want to write up an article about. We'll see what happens. I'll look into that, Jason. It sounds like from my boy Don tiano and a conversation that both plays might just want to wait till the trade deadline that there's no, they haven't been asked to move their no trades. And or anything like that. So that might just be a flash in the pan. But I think there's two teams that tapes would like to go to. I know Patrick Kane's going through a little ding that could be something serious that they might even shut him down for the season to have the surgery now and re sign him for another year and they get them back healthy next season and then trade them from there. So there's a couple possibilities right there that what could happen. But I don't know. I mean, let me ask you, would you rather do horvat or tapes? I mean, honestly, kind of, weird to say, but neither, but I guess if I had to, I would go with, I would go with taves. If we're doing it for one year, I would go with tapes. Because I know he's won, he's a leader. No questions asked. He's going to just come here and play his game and win face offs and kill pat. I mean, he's another guy who can take penalty load penalty kill load management off a guy like bergeron, who I still think is killing too many penalties. I guess if I have to do it for short term and based on what we'd have to give up, I'd go tapes. Yeah, and I have to agree with you just for the fact is that I don't think the price is going to be that expensive. I think the biggest hurdle between the Boston Bruins and the Chicago Blackhawks in a trade is how much money is Chicago going to retain. The AAV doesn't change throughout the year. The money does change because of the prorated games. We're halfway through the season, the real money isn't really that much, but still, it's that AAV that has to come down for anything that happened. And hopefully that doesn't, you know, with any bonus, it wouldn't be a bonus structure. It would be a trade. That won't have any effect on the past and signing anytime soon either. But yeah, I like the experience. I like what he could give. I'm not too thrilled about a player that kind of cover it up some pretty nasty shit in Chicago for a while.

"And some of it is justified. Some of it's not. But if you're going to bash Sweeney for he can't draft, he can't draft. And then immediately say, well, I want to trade the kid that he just drafted, you know, for somebody else. Like, don't bash the draft and then say, I don't want Fabian Liz, I'll get him out of here. We got to at least see what we have here. So I just think that Bo horvath, the price is going to be so high and I'm not really looking to sort of disrupt the whole future quite yet. What are your thoughts on some of the rumors that they've had been involved with your mark? Last night, Elliot Friedman and Jeff Merrick were on the panel at sportsnet and both of them said that the price would be three. Roster players and one top end prospects. I'm not sure if the bruins have the asset to get a deal like this done at all. And I would honestly pass. Just for the fact is that, you know, we might not have to pay such a heavy price for somebody that could come in and possibly give us the same amount, you know? I have a couple of players involved. And one of the reasons why I think about these players is just the fact is that they have an extra year of term. So the cost might be not equal to a whole bar of that, but you still have a year under contract. So I really like and if the Boston bureau ones are looking at centers to do it, we increase the depth up the middle and really go for it. I really like alias alias lindholm from Calgary. He's a center right wing, he's at 28 years old. He's making 4.8 million right now. He's a UFA after next season. So you have a whole year to negotiate with him. But the best part about it is if the Boston Bruins don't get a deal done. If they don't get the cop down this year, you have a player like this in the mix for next season. Bo horvat in my opinion, I don't know him. I don't know his character, personality, whatever. But sometimes in the NHL, a player like Bo horvat gets all pumped up and ready to go to the best team in the NHL. That's really a wagon and possibly going to win a Stanley Cup. But if that goal is not accomplished, that player might not be happy and now he's a rental. Now you gave up assets for somebody you can not resign and wants to test the market to find a place where he can win. That's a scary thought when you're thinking about it. And the price to pay. If he can come here with term and you could work out a pasta pass the neck extension, I'm forward, but I still think that the price to pay is just a little too much. Number one for a Boston Bruins prospect pool that desperately needs to be replenished.

NHL-best Bruins edge Penguins in Winter Classic
"At the winter classic at Fenway Park, the Boston Bruins scored two third period goals, both by Jake de brusque to defeat the Pittsburgh penguins two to one. De brass first goal came 7 46 into the third and tied it at one. The second of the period in the game winner came with just two 24 left in regulation. I think it was actually just one of those things where it was just happened probably at a ten second time frame. I can't really remember. I mean, I remember being on the ground and seeing it in, but definitely was lucky on that one and happy to contribute. In net for the bruins, Linus Olmert made 25 C's and kept the bruins undefeated in regulation at home. Great cadets, Boston.

And just like be the guys and then go to work the next day and then fly on to onto your next mission. But this was a good win for them. Again, you said that it sets that barometer when you're playing against the higher higher ranked teams. And I know Jersey has been not doing very well lately, but they're basically coming down to earth, but it was just another solid win. Another two points and another road win and it's good on a short week and when I'm ready to get back into the regular action and the post holidays and so on and I'm excited for the second half. I want to touch on touch on the schedule real quick and then I want to ask you guys a question about the Jersey game. There's a lot of complaints out there, a lot of people complaining about the schedule and what the bruins had to go through between the auto and New Jersey game. And blaming the league and so forth. I'm the opposite. I don't blame, I blame the Boston Bruins because before the schedule is finalized, they're handed the schedule and say, okay, is there anything you don't like? Is there anything you want to change? And they have the option to change those two games. They knew they couldn't fly out until the auto game because of the CBA. And they knew they had to fly right to New Jersey. It's not a league thing. That's the Boston Bruins for approving that. So let's get that out of the way.
