"And she was like, okay. Yeah, I think the fun. It felt like it was building up to something that was gonna be like, okay, this was so funny. I'm glad it got us here. So really Bosco is the only one with a flawless rose. Really is the only one that did a really good job in the rose. Which coming off last week, she needed. I know with snatch game, the lip sync and last week bombing all three episodes. It was refreshing to see her be on top again. And honestly, watching it, I was like, I feel like Bosco could win. I didn't really think about it. 'cause like when you think about who RuPaul usually chooses as a winner by the end, not that Bosco could necessarily win a lip sync. Especially a finale lip sync. But a lot of the time the winner is someone who has had a really well rounded run. So someone who has been in the bottom, but because now Bosco has the most wins. I'm pretty sure she's only number three. Yes, your honor. But she's also had to lip sync into episodes. So she has that well rounded track record, and she has distinct style of drag. That's usually the type of person RuPaul chooses RuPaul's not going to choose willow pill because will appell has had a perfect run. It's a good point. I think you might be right. The only thing with her is her style is certainly interesting and new, which I think recall probably love. She has won the same thing on the runway. Like four weeks in a row. Yeah. Her downfall and it normally, it's literally been the exact same thing for four weeks, but it's always been a very similar.

And he didn't pick. Who got it? I know, honestly. I am kind of curious, was there a moment in production where there were like, this is it? This is the one who's going to have the or words there. Had they chosen it from the moment that there was blended. I'm curious how that happened. Was Bosco never going to be able to go home, whether it was last week or this week. I'm curious how they did that. Or maybe Bosco did just happen to choose the golden chocolate bar. Maybe it's not rigged. I was happy. Did you think I'm going to be honest? I knew she was going to have it before I even started the episode because I accidentally saw spoiler. Oh, so you weren't surprised? No, I knew she had it. Oh, okay. 'cause I was gonna ask, like, was it? Was it exciting? 'cause I wasn't on the edge of my seat, and I kind of wish I was. I know, when her reaction was kind of priceless, I loved that for her. I know, it made me really happy. And she was like crying in the confessionals, and I was like, see bus go. That's the boss who I want to see. Yeah, I cry. Yeah, exactly. Don't be mean, pride. "I know. And every girl except Bosco said Bosco. And what did you think of that? Well, I thought it based on tonight's critiques they were right. But also I think a lot of times when this happens, the first person to go always has a kind of the hardest and then a lot of other people just follow suit because I was thinking exact same because I think the argument that Bosco should go home kind of doesn't hold up against Georgia. Just like she got pretty much the same critiques. She just didn't have the leading role. And she's been in the bottom the most. So it doesn't make sense to me that no one said bothered to George except for Bosco. I know in Bosco was like, she's been in the bottom three times. And I did not like George says mark was like, she was in the bottom three times in one episode. And I'm like, that's not the same. No, because that means that she doesn't excel in one category for forming. Where's Georgia's husband in the bottom? Because she had been able to excel in a number of categories of performing. I know. Like I wish for Bosco's sake, Georgia would have gone first and said that. And boss who could have come back with that. Yeah, 'cause then Georgia was like, then she was also.

"Bit Was in the tweet was was that i asked rolleston afterwards about how his team had gone from picking up all those Personal others pass interference penalties against survey right t. Mac drew half a dozen. You know. Pass interference how did you know the rawlinson think. The mati went from having so many penalties against survey to plan so much cleaner against saint john. Bosco where the only had six for sixty three much more discipline and goethals and said it was his thought was was he gave tip the hat To the officiating crew. Out the bull on saturday and i really think that you know that was. The contents of that was is that he was not happy. With how the game was officiated against servite with with team mac and all those Pass interference calls. And i think that was. I think that was still i still. I still think that upsets him. And that's what he was. That's kind of what i think. He was saying that he just thought they had better referees. And things that we have been called for. Then i'm referring to all those penalties against servite those those weren't correct calls and then tonight you had a better officiating crew. That was the contents. I think he was trying to display or communicate. And i'm not sure if the the brave faithful and of course i know they're upset. They lost the game and they saw their coach Coach nato's upset about the penalties and he's fighting for his guys. I get it but that was the sentiment. That coach wilson was trying to communicate. I think it was more of a commentary really on how he felt about survey. I don't know what you're that's what i you know. And i'm certainly. I love to hear what you have to say about that scotty. I know it's heating the moment but the most what i got out what i heard is in saw was the braves officials were living when they saw that because they were like all they took. "You know in the old lou game. Jay sarah game at santa margarita. Basically talk about cinema. Those three games should be shutouts. I mean i mean. I know it is what it is on the scoreboard. But you take those those plays away you know there were big plays at just were broken down. You know missed assignment. Miss tackle. I'll be. I'll give it to the new slant that that a logan consolidated was a good play. But for the most part you know. They've like i said they don't moderate doesn't give up a lot but every now and then they seem to do that. So we know moderate. Meanwhile boss goes a big play team. So that's one to keep an eye on you. Don't on the flip side to for bosco. They had their defense. Hasn't faced an offense like modern day. That's going to be at you know. The guys are questionable. You know the player are we. Kinda spotlights defensive guys but that offense unit for the most part pretty healthy while it does have a young quarterback bosko's defense is facing the two headed monster of marquette's and relief brown a couple of speed burners who brown just seems to be getting you know he just seems to be getting warmed up and he's a threat to break it every time he touches the the ball and seems like a guy oklahoma commit. Who's you definitely wants to rise to the challenge. The bigger the game the bigger the moment for him. I think you tell him. You're playing bosco. His first time this guy is going to be jacked. And he's going to be a handful and he's catching the ball out of the backfield i you know. And modern shown a good ability to help out their quarterback's throw into their backs and marquette's has been in. This rivalry played well and he is a threat to take the house also catch the ball and then they got the four receivers going. That's really on. Put some pressure on the On the bosco defense. "You know but really it's close But the difference think's going to be offensive units bosco. I think it's pretty much a one or two touchdowns better than a modern days. I'm not sure the modern offense consistently move the barrel and possessions in this is going to be key along with turnovers and mistakes Just shown more big playability and young. Could they be matchups with matteo I don't know if if bailey is that kind of cover guy of course talking about a guy coming off an injury if he's gonna even play or not Rage on interested enough played. "Sarah an orange lutheran not exactly the you know the best tune-ups for modern day off for the braves. The you're gonna it's you know you're going from some pretty low level teams trinity league wise. You know To play you know play modern day. So it'll be seen how maybe that will lead to a little bit of a slow start. Perhaps for for the braves in the game. Were you know. Modern is coming off. You know they've played servite more recently. Got up and had a more competitive game while they dominated but they played a higher level team in santa margarita. And i could see that lead into a little bit faster. Start for modern day but we will see if the braves are affected. You think that could be Any kind of factor that maybe the the the the braves game but just going by the recent dominance like you were talking in your reports. Got eating the braves could come out a little slow against modern day. Because they've been playing. Jay sarah in orange lutheran the past two weeks be possibility black. I wouldn't put a lot into it. It may take them a couple of you. Know maybe a series or so to get up you know back to that game speed but again On the on that you know the flip side. "You know program within you. Know feet of a junior quarterback t mac junior wide receiver. You know they have kim brunette who are not hear much from these days. Maybe he's you know with the winding down and you know No playoffs ahead. Only one game left. Maybe it's wise that he's you know taking care of Taking care of his injury and getting back full strength for his senior year which will be like. We said not too far away. But you've made if you have a trio like mcmillan burnett and emerging and moseley that will really kind diversify that attack and we didn't really get to see servite at full strength wide receiver wise for bosco or modern day so in the survived faithful would love and saying hey we want to be full strength and see what we can do against those guys. What you say scotty definitely agree with that You know that's all we can hope for you know. Hopefully we we see that in the fall in the fall all right our last game from round four. It was saint john bosco plane host orange lutheran lutheran got the extra day to kind of prepare. They were coming off a positive cova tests get healthy. Get ready for this game and it was expected. This is how we thought it would be pretty. Lopsided was saint. John bosco fifty five. Oh lose zero Lutheran and j cerebral shutout last week link thinking about better times it was I saw some new things really emerged for for bosco in. This game was probably. They're passing attack. I've talked. We've talked a lot. And i think i really focused on. How good their running game is behind that big offensive. Line the triple header. The triple headed running back. Duo plus peers clarkson. Well i thought that was a little bit different especially with the way bosco played so well in the first half which they lead forty eight nothing and halftime but they threw ford. They threw four touchdowns in the first half Three by clarkson and one by kate. And hauser and the quarterbacks played really well houser was seven for nine for one hundred and fifty yards. And one touchdown and clarkson was five or six for one hundred thirty yards and three touchdowns. So i thought that was a little bit different wrinkle. I kind kinda see. Know over the over the fall in their club game and this decades for third place. And there's you know outright so there's a on that game so scotty how you doing as a six week. "Takes down servite thirty eight twenty eight tale of two halves pretty remarkable surveys up seven three at halftime and both teams obviously playing great defense. You know seven. Three ballgame survives pressuring bosco. They're blade blocked field goal. They're swarming to the ball. They're playing with a lot of confidence especially on defense. Bosko's playing great defense to check out these numbers. No feta excellent junior quarterback for servite. He's one for eight in the first half for six yards unbelievable. He's been played putting a huge numbers and he got it going eventually. In the second. Half and then t mac zero catches in the first half another junior on t mac mcmillan other outstanding junior But that was bosco. Really pressuring him pressing amount. I should say on on the edges and did good a great job but then know bosco takes control the second half they score on four or five possessions in the second half jabari bates runs wallo for one hundred. Seventy seven yards this guy. Matteo hoogly outstanding catches to touchdown passes the tight end sophomore five for saint john bosco catches two touchdowns in the second. Half including a key fourth down touchdown on fourth down conversion and then And then and then bosko gets enough stops to hold off. You know survive. No on t. Mac did get going in the second half put up some big numbers there but just couldn't sustain that momentum. They had in the first half but pretty interesting game pierce car. I also think Pierce clarkson is probably emerging as the number one guy. Think he's starting to step up a little separation with keeton houser. They're still rotating quite a bit. But i'm starting to see you know. I think pierced might be kind of emerging as the guy. I like both those quarterbacks. They're they're both kind of different. But pierce clarkson. Elusiveness is kind of a game changer. The he can run in compliment. That running game get out of trouble. Whenever that is can extends some drives through a couple of pretty nice touchdowns as well so and in in cadence got a great arm. But it's in. But i i kind of think that pierce clarkson could be emerging jalen woods with the big game as well Look at outside linebacker for the braves. But scotty what was your take on this game.

"You know very good game against santa margarita. So these are two back to back ones The schedule tough for for survey that up and comer you know i think the thing they can hope for is somehow if they could is scheduled for next year somehow they could not have play modern day. and bosco. Back to back you date somehow. Split that up For their their big run next year when they have you know when they have that great senior class altogether. I don't i don't know if they could they that's what they really the best thing that could help them in the future. This is try space out these games. You know what i understand. You may want to look into this. I think after every two years they they do a coin flip in there they kind of switch it up and so i don't know if it's the how the The order used to always be you know they just rotate and move. You know so that whoever that last game was would move up to the first week and then they just move down. I don't know how they re they because it used to be out. They would change the home in home away. They would wrote that. That's how they they rotate did to see who gets to home in the way game and i thought i was told that if they do that they change it every two years. But i don't know if they changed the placement so but that would be. I think i don't know less less somebody. You have to look at the other since it has survived. The only team that place lauderda- academic weeks visited the falls that way so it's always seems to be you know. I just think that we are more aware of it. Being served by because servants always thirteen. We will see who is who team that you know but it may be the other around somebody sees. I think somebody will always see modern day first and then see bosco second but it may be like a jason. I can't remember but There's somebody that always ends up getting back need. Yeah last year. What happened for survivors. That yeah they played so well in that game last year against bosco. Lost twenty seven twenty six but then the next week they lost to day fifty six to eleven and that was obviously the most points that By far i think that they allowed all year They had low given up forty two earlier in the year. Two bishop mormon. When they weren't went out to las vegas. But i don't think they. That was a tough night for their defense and they end up playing much better defense. Got a little bit of a shootout in the playoffs with mission viejo Really good mission viejo team with obviously strong defensive front last year but if be i think you know servite. We talk about santa margarita. Taking the next step. This is what survives looking to do. Is you know trying to take that next step and for them. The next step is is daunting to try to you. Know go play Bosco play modern day and try to beat one of those guys so You'll see how it all goes down. I'm going to be be at saint. John bosco taking it in and scotty. "Headed trio On the ground game with jabari bates and raytheon lucas and michael hayes and they did Those guys are all run hard. They're all fast. They got a great big offensive line so And they ran. It will thirty seven carries as a team over three hundred yards for rushing touchdowns as a team. The big news out of this game you know obviously was the injury Status of ray sean luke. Who did have an eighty two yard touchdown. Run in this game. In the first half and he wasn't rushing it too much. She was only had five carries for one eighteen. As you know. Jabari bates was the go-to guy but he went down with an apparent leg injury and he and there was a harsh over the stadium. Everybody realizes this is a talented junior. Great track athlete of promise in. Ray sean Luke and he was. He was having a hard time walking off on his own. Power helped off the field. And they were working on the on the trainees table and then after the game had had his leg wrapped and he was walking on his own and coach. Negro said he was fine but it was a scary moment. coach negro Admitted as much and You know personally. And i was talking to you know before. Show that i. I think that You know. I think it'd be wise from a football decision You know with the short season. I think with ray sean. Having so much potential. I would shut him down for the year From what i saw there i mean. I don't know the diagnosis. Of course but it was a scary thing and i just. It's just a such a short turnaround from this season to next next season. There's playoffs the guy's got a promising career And i would i would. I would be very concerned with them. Because i think that highly of town in his speed and you want him to be right yes. Football is a physical game. I and i'm just seeing what i'm seeing from afar but i do know the schedule and You know there's what after the other four league games left and you know so i think but we'll see what happens. You know this week in going future But i think that's a big decision to a football decision. I like to know your opinion of that and the braves They were Defensively got better. You know they ran into a very impressive and much improved. Colton who threw for two hundred and sixty eight yards and four touchdowns. He looked horrific at times in especially in the first half guy was just on point in just he did some carving up of that bosco secondary and it was a lot of eye opening performances by romolo murphy The senior. you've talked about scotty One of the best receivers out there for sure seven carries for one zero five. Michael buckley was outstanding as well five catches for one twenty two and deadly. Do a shout out and he had looked really good Was a derek. How about we give it to the freshman. Elijah brown for you know first varsity game on the road in the league and the guy throws for three touchdowns and he's fourteen of eighteen. How 'bout in scotty showed poise and he was efficient. You know in his first start so well. Congratulations to elisha brown. Freshmen are truly football. Twenty eight and Sounds like a bit of a blow out And obviously at the final score it was but you know one point. Santa margarita did have a slight lead in the second quarter but then they end up getting blitz. I mean it was twenty eight to twenty at halftime Saint john bosco. And i think it was twenty two fourteen santa margarita leading in midway Too early in the second quarter. But i was really impressed with with the braves. Sinoe seeing them in person for the first time this year. I thought their quarterback duo is is pretty. Nice peers clarkson sophomore. He looked outstanding. He had a lot of composure and a lot of patients in the pocket. He threw two touchdowns threw another touchdown rolling to his right and a and a great throw on the run to the back of the end zone. That's impressive and then he also ran for one hundred yards and You know he had five carries for one hundred and one yards. And and scotty it was easy yards. These are runs where he he's dropping back in the pocket. He's looking to make his reads. It's not open. And he has. He just escapes a pocket and gets loose and he gets to the sidelines and he'll stop until he'll run as long as he can and he'll get out of bounce And and kate. In hauser had a terrific arm and he was better in the second half but Started a little slow but he was ten of sixteen for one twenty six two touchdowns and he's more of the pocket guy But he had a very outstanding touchdown to Jodi mckay Duffy on a on a slant about twenty two yards in the second quarter and he second half and he threw that on a rope and showed a great arm and now an impressive run. It's actually the halfway point of the entire krona virus shortened season. But we got some pretty good games. I know you're able to get on the sideline i imagine. You're you're doing doing okay tonight. Scotty i'm march men and there's going on i got that in the background Brackets are busted. But i think everybody's too you know in in just Chart the games and you know talking to you so it is going by fast but Getting this little taste and then you would jump into spring. All it'd be back for at it again so well. We got some interesting things to chat about tonight. We got a really big game. Coming up on friday with the servite. Saint john bosco. That's the obviously the game of for week in the you know maybe in southern california For sure this is a very big game in the tree league. Chicago Public Schools Students Return to Classrooms Monday
"Chicago public schools are teaching elementary school kids in their classrooms for the first time in nearly a year. Students in grades K through five returned yesterday after several delays caused by a fight with the teachers union over the safety of resuming in person learning. 30% of students have opted to return. That was I think there was twelve black kids in school And like it was like predominantly white. We were like. What are we doing here so that was a school that was that you were in? Hook was coming. The Politics Behind The Golden Globe Awards
"Welcome to the frame. I'm Steven Cuevas filling in for John Horn. But we're about to hear from John On. He's covered the movie industry for more than two decades as a print reporter and so we figured he's the best person to explain the significance or lack thereof of the Golden Globe awards. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association today announced the nominees for its annual awards which take place in early January but rather than detail the usual inexplicable explicable nominee choices and snubs. We thought we talk about the relationship between movie fans the Globes and the entertainment industry. I John tells us who makes up the association. What's important to me about the Golden Globes and about some other kind of minor film? Awards is that this is not a representative presentative body. They're about ninety journalists. And if you go on the website for the Hollywood Foreign Press Association you can no longer even find their names teams or where they work. It's a very small group of people and they have undue influence because the movie studios have figured out that if they wou- the voters for the Golden Globes and they're filmmakers win awards at the Golden Globes it kind of create some sort of momentum for the Academy Awards but none none of it is very legitimate and H. MPA has cleaned itself up. It's not a scandal ridden as it has been in years past but this isn't an elite group of film writers or film critics that are making these selections and if you look closely at the selections not just this year but but in past years the fact that they are really that serious ask kind of film. Lovers starts to reveal itself pretty quickly. How so? Well let's talk about a couple of past nominations twenty thirteen. There were three nominations for a movie. I bet you you've never heard of salmon. Fishing in the Yemen amend that was a Golden Globe Walker. If you go back nine years to twenty ten there was a movie with Johnny. Depp called the tourists that was largely largely derided that ended up getting multiple nominations at the Golden Globes. And I think if you look closely at some of the selections this year it's clear it's it's driven by the red carpet like who do they wanna have on the red carpet you look in the TV category. There are multiple nominations for the morning. Show a apple all series. That didn't get great reviews because Jennifer Aniston is coming reese witherspoon is coming as nominees and then you look at Ava d'auvergne as when they see us. One of the most critically acclaimed TV series of the past year didn't get any nominations so it's important for the NBC. Show to have that star Klaus so there's eyeball so so people watch. I think that's part of the bias historically for the Golden Globes that you can say it judging between good filmmaker and a less name they generally are going to vote for the last name and they also have some historical by sees you know that are shared by the Academy in the seventy seven year history of the Globes. Only five women have ever been nominated for best director and this year. There are lots of really good female filmmakers that were up Greta Gerwig for little women. Olivia Wilde for book. SMART Hurrell for honey. Boy Marielle Heller for Beautiful Day in the neighborhood. Not One of them got nominated so golden gloves has a pretty poor history when it comes to nominate women the Golden Globes has made some the effort to try to rehabilitate this reputation. What has it done? It's made sure that people who are members actually have legitimate emmett credits. As journalists there been some reports of. I guess you could call it. Bribery or expensive gifts in the past. I think they've tried I to eliminate all of that so again they have cleaned up their act. But there's only so much legitimacy you can bring to yourself when you're only ninety journalists writing for publications that if we had the names I guarantee you you've probably never heard of them and yet the industry I I guess mostly plays along and an actor or director or studio can use success at the Globes as part of their campaign going into Bosco Bosko season one hundred percent and I think that is one of the most interesting parts of the story. Everybody in Hollywood knows in their soul that at the Golden Globes are really not totally legitimate and yet the studios independent companies and marketing departments. Embrace raise them because they recognize. There's a game to be played and the game is. We're going to court the Golden Globe voters we're going to have screenings and QNA's for them and and if we get a nomination are actor or filmmaker is going to be on their awards show and people are going to start talking about the film and one thing gets the other but they do know that really. It's not totally legit but it serves their purposes academy award. Campaigning is a multi title million dollar business. There are people who work as campaign consultant who get hundreds of thousands of dollars for getting nominations or Oscar wins wins. There is a huge business behind all of this and in some ways it might drive ticket sales or people to stream movies so it's driven by finance finance is driven by trying to get eyeballs on the movies but it's all kind of a hustle so John I've never covered the entertainment industry that closely so so like a lot of people in the public eye really always just saw the Golden Globe awards as the first among that more high profile award shows to spotlight the top films of the year. Going into Oscar seasons am I am I off on that. Were not technically off. I mean because the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Asian nominates into different categories for most of the major film awards they cast a wider net. So just mathematically. They're bound to include lewd a lot of movies. That end up getting nominated. I wouldn't say they're that much of a bellwether but because they're embracing so many movies.
