An Interview with Actor Doug Hutchison

"Next guest has a wonderful film. Fi most notably his performance in nineteen thousand nine hundred green mile was probably wanting should have been nominated for certainly one should've one. He is one of the best actors on the planet. I consider him a friend. And this is our second take part two of directors that he has worked for his name is Doug Hutchison. Doug, welcome back part two of part two. Derek? Thank you. Thanks. It's good to be back. And thank you for that very flattering introduction. I appreciate we've talked about the academy. And I'm not gonna you know, go over beat the beaten path again. But you know, I just I was looking at the top two fifty today in the green mile as I want to say twenty four, you know. And it's probably yeah. But it should be a lot higher than that. But. No. I just I looked at you know, I just I'll never understand how they nominate people who gets nominated and so forth. But you definitely that's Deborah for anybody. Who knows even king anybody who knows who follow Stephen King? They know that you you that character. And that's not always the case, Stephen King movies or characters people. You'll miss the Mark, by many cases, you know. I appreciate that. Thank you. I mean that that means a lot to me. But you know, it's interesting. I we already had a show the academy that we don't have to rehash our quandary about the whole, you know, political aspect of it. But actually, I'll send these articles to affect you. Find him. I'm sure they're on line actually have scrapbooks stuff. Stuff that time. But Warner Brothers was actually pushing me for a nomination, and I have a few of their ads when they were pushing the and then something happened. And I think it was in house at one brothers. That's by as least what I was told by then manager and probably soom happened. But they were also pushing Michael Clark Dunkin, and they could they were pushing both of us for best supporting because they wanted, of course, best actor to go to Tom Hanks. And so anyway, I think somebody is finally went wait a minute. Would we doing here, we're we're splitting our vote if we're nominating nominating to actors from one movie? We're splitting our vote. So they ended up deciding to go with one actor for best supporting out of the green mile, and they went with Michael. And you know, it was I I won't lie that that I was excited. You know? Of course when it was. Seemingly happening. But when they made that decision I won't lie was disappointed. But I think they made the right decision. Be only because you know, Michael, not only put in amazing performance. But. It's very rare. If you look at the academy's it does happen. But it's know like Anthony Hopkins the silence of the lambs at cetera and that that amazing actor in. The old man. No, no country froze men ill country for old, man. Who's that have Gordon day? I think didn't he win or something? Yes for that will use Boquet. So it does happen that they'll go for the quote, unquote, Zilin or bad guy in the movie, Denzel one for training day. You know, he played a corrupt cops, blah, blah, blah. So it does happen. But more often it the the want. The winners are the ones who are playing the protagonists the heroes the the sympathetic characters the the actors who are you know, like playing real characters like Capote and Jamie, FOX when he did rage. Ray Ray, Charles. He don't things like that. So so it didn't surprise me faced with the decision. Wonder brothers decided to go with Michael. So I was happy for Michael, you know. But I I really was you know, we were all keeping our fingers cross. But. Active. Pretty funny story about that. But maybe for another day since we're gonna talk about directors. But when we were at the same awards, something kind of strange have. Thout save it over yet though. No, I won't know thinking of your time or some other actors Michael fast bender and twelve years a slave, which is one of the best movies historical ever. Yeah. He was nominated for. Yes. So yeah, it definitely happens. But you're right. It's kind of rare for it to happen. It doesn't

"You're under on it. You don't do. But I'm under audit of the people are under on it. And nobody would do it when you are going through an audit. And I always go through all the time. That's how you know his live. Well, at least one way when he goes off on a tangent and keeps repeating himself. He's like, the Oprah Winfrey. Of audits. I'm under audit your under- audit. Everybody's under audit audit of who's got the on it. What I like even less of those who heard him make that promise to release his tax returns repeatedly. And don't care that he Boquet because they're so easily distracted by caravans and prayed imbalances at their media keeps distracting them with. It's almost as if they have blinders on, and yet now is hired a new law firm to try and prevent him from releasing his tax returns Americans have a right to know if their leader is financially compromised or attacks, cheat and speaking of taxes tax cheats. I don't like the fact that we just learned on Wednesday that back in February a federal appellate judge Marianne. Berry retired why because ten days before she learned she was under investigation into whether she violated judicial conduct. And how was she suspected a violating judicial conduct rules. By participating in tax fraud schemes for decades with her siblings. Marianne berry was Kohner of a shell company. All country building supply and maintenance created by her family to siphon cash from the father's empire by making purchases. All marking up purchases already made by his employees's. And other words, this company would buy a boiler for say five thousand bucks. They would then sell that boiler back to their father for one of his buildings for twenty thousand dollars giving the father alarge tax write off as the as the company only paid five thousand for the boiler in the first place. The company all country building aka Marianne, berry her siblings gift fifteen thousand in profit thereby avoiding gift and estate taxes, which at the time were levied at a much higher rate than income taxes. Then they use the high inflated prices. They said they paid for the boiler as justification to raise the rent on rent. Regulated properties on thousands of tenants. Prosecutors said that if a thorn had discovered at the time how they were using their shell company. Their actions would've wanted a criminal investigation for defrauding tenants, tax fraud and filing false documents. Conversely when berry and her siblings took ownership of the fathers properties. They undervalued them sparing them tens of millions of dollars in taxes all in all berry inner siblings. Defraud the US government out of almost half a billion dollars. And no that's not paying as little taxes. You can legally that is outright tax fraud. Now, if you don't know already Marianne berries made name was Marianne twelve she's Donald Trump sister, eggo Trump is one of her siblings. And by the way, that investigation ended with her retirement why because retired judges are not subject to conduct rules, and her name doesn't and won't appear on the order and India investigation or the correspondence with the complainants. Now, why do you think she retired because she's innocent same with Donald Trump? Why do you think is fighting so hard to keep his tax returns from seeing the light of day because he's innocent. And by the way, quick prediction time, I think part of the approach Democrats are taking to get Trump's tax returns is all wrong. They're asking for the last six years the time period, they should be looking at is the mid two thousand two thousand five six and seven more on that in good time. As for Democrats right to ask for his returns. Trump says there's no.

"NFL Sunday John Ewing joins us now action network wasn't able to join us last week. But. We had a proper fill in job. But we missed you, brother. I'm sorry. I'm ready to get going Christmas is just around the corner. So we need to get a little extra cash. And I think I got some place that can help us. All there you go. I want to hear that's what we want to hear. Let's let's start as we do the local, you know, where deal and I were right around MetLife stadium here walking distance is the giant fan is packing reds restaurant and the titan fan as well. Giants and titans today at one o'clock the giants have won four of their last five games. What would you do with this game? If anything John we've seen a lot of sharp accident on the line here. Sunday morning pros are coming in hard on Tennessee, one nine from part two and a half to minus one and a half. I think the primary reason for that is we've seen the giant success here in the last few weeks. They got the best of the Niners the block the Redskins. But most of those defenses were pretty weak. They're going to go up against the titans team. That's fourth ranked in scoring defense their corners and their safety all rank in the top fifty Boquet at toback grading. So. I think they're gonna have a tougher match up here. It's going to be a little harder to score on the professional money coming in on the pretty hard as less than sixty percent of tickets are on Tennessee, but almost eighty percent of spread dollar. So when there's a big gap between the amount of money and tickets that the good indication that the pros like a team in today. It looks like they're fading giant. All right. So they're fading the giants. And there there are Tennessee. Alright. So you mentioned that you've you've got some strong plays. The holiday season is upon us. Where would pick one be John first game? I like today is the coke at home favored by over the Cowboys. Matchup play for me. The first thing that I liked about this for indie that they ring in football outsiders. Against the run. And they're six in yards per rush allowed, which is key. If you're going to Dallas Cowboys love to run the ball with the. They have the fourth. Highest rate are rushing on first down. Indy is really good at willing to run down. In fact, they have a great metric where you look at rate, and they rank in the top ten at being able to win opposing teams at the line of scrimmage or tackles for losses. So if they are able to force Dallas. You know, the bread and butter of running the ball. That's a huge advantage at home on the fast track at Indy. I really like the cold there, minus three. All right. So pick one you'd like the colts minus three at home against the Cowboys. All right. What about pick two? Biggest game today at the most bet you were patriots. The money and tickets are coming in on New England right now as you know, two and a half point favorites on the road, just a play on an inflated line. Rica formed by the Steelers they've lost three in a row. But in.

"Like if you're gonna just tapping the president and like forming coalition to vote the twenty fifth amendment, you'd have to be a pretty interesting person and to me that kind of rules out rod Rosenstein like nothing he's done is indicated he's kind of guy. He denies it. He said, it's false reporting or something like that. You know, that must have inflamed the White House response from FOX. Interesting because you have Hannity on the one hand going like it's a trap Trump don't do it. It's the time setting and lower Ingram's leg row. Go ahead and fire firearm? Narrow right Trump was getting mixed messages. Like in the same day, right Ingram Hannity were giving him different orders. Yeah, it was very strange. And so there's too often hear one times, right? In which case, I don't know what rod Rosenstein was thinking or like that's very odd, and there's a lot more going on. We don't know about. He did not something, let's say the right if they're right, and he actually made us gestion would such an adjustment in the course of a criminal investigation be, is it like illegal for him to do that? If he were able to get like whatever warrant required if you need a warrant to do that. But if in the pursuit of investigations enforce law enforcement thirties, do these kinds of things they do not against president, not against your bus. I don't. Okay. It's not saying. There's two issues now that one is like if he did just seriously and he's denying it, that's problematic. Other is that we didn't know. We just don't don't compensate like it could be. He did Justice series -ly. I mean, if it was a twenty minute. Well, that's interesting because it's the first thing we have confirmation of name person who considered Boquet even though we all know that everyone around Trump has like at least floated the idea themselves. The twenty fifth, at some point. So. It's mostly notable because Rosenstein had somehow worked out a truce with Trump Trump, like kept him around by everyone thinking he'd be fired long ago, and this would undermine it, which is why there's been pushback on the times because it seems like a could have been planted by certain people who had an interest in killing them, learn association and to do that any the Knicks Rosenstein. So the accusations that New York Times was acting as like, you know, stenographer Patsy for these forces who wanted to use their platform to influence Trump based on a story that's not entirely accurate. Comes recruits are Catholic. Again, New York Times said they are very certain is not the case. And I guess now we just have to wait and see what comes out or see you next week or Rosenstein still around if he testifies this week before congress. But in the near we made by the DOJ Tiba sources. Yes. Well, sort of, I mean, the whole Miller. I mean Trump could order that right Trump, but like sessions get, it'd be a huge project.
