Jenna Ellis: The Misconception of the Right's 'Winning at All Cost'

"I opened up the beginning of the show saying you know you as a lawyer the irony of this right That we've been a country that is so respected and maybe it'll segue nicely into the next topic the value of free speech up until about a decade ago where the left made this dramatic turn At least publicly behind the scenes they were always censorship road by publicly now they're openly advocating for free speech to the point now where a conservative's biggest fear is anybody not being allowed to speak anyone conservators or liberals but liberals biggest fear is anyone they don't agree with being allowed to speak at all It's created kind of a really really strange situation here where there's so obviously right in the wrong and yet it's hard to coax independence into our side and I can't figure out why they are so obviously for censorship How are we missing something here and the messaging Yeah you know what's so interesting is that because of the four years of Trump saying we got to win and never get sick of winning It's like we have this now myopic focus on the right that we have to just win at all costs And that somehow being principled is part of a boomer era and an antiquated constitution that we're actually and I don't blame this fully on president Trump but at all But the whole idea that somehow the manga based is only concerned with winning at all costs is fundamentally antithetical to the principles that created this country And so what people don't realize is that when they are so tribalistic and they say if you disagree with what we as a group are saying is the right move and winning and you actually say you know what I'm going to defend a viewpoint that I viscerally disagree with And by the way I disagree with Disney stance a 100% I just agree with their right to speak an opinion and combat and oppose legislation like everybody else without government retaliation But because the right is so opposed to the content of the speech they now want to throw away my entire history and track record and support and defense of president Trump and election integrity and all of these constitutional principles Over one issue that they disagree with And that can't be the standard and that should never be the standard because when government starts making retaliatory actions based on the content of speech that is fundamentally against everything that makes America great

Goblin Mode (MM #4034)

"The NASA minute. With Kevin mason. One of the struggles of being a baby boomer is to try to stay engaged with the rest of the world. So the world doesn't pass you by. At least for some of us, we try to remain connected to the current slang. The other day I saw a news story where I realized it was somewhat out of touch, at least with some slang, some urban dictionary slaying, somebody was talking about Kanye West and his latest girlfriend. The reason he supposed they broke up with her because she goes goblin mode. They're like, okay, that's a new one I'd never heard of before. Goblin mode refers to a person who was generally messy, likely unshowered and acting kind of feral, like a feral cat due to laziness or aversion to going outside. You find it in the urban dictionary you find it in tumblr. It's been around for years, but not something that ever heard before. Of course I chuckled, because there are a lot of words these days in the urban dictionary. A lot of different types of slang that you just don't hear. Most of them created through memes. Somebody just creates a word and it kind of goes viral. And we'll see more and more of that as the world starts separating into its own little tribes. And a lot of people are studying these words. Goblin mode, I'll admit. It's pretty much what I am right now.

The Talbotts Explain Why Most Companies Don't Sell During an Exit

"Were talking about this is a real problem that there are companies that they go like, okay, we're ready to sell the company. But they have problems. Why? Well, usually our firm talks about this where owners come to us, usually in one of three states, where they either want out yesterday, they want out within a year, or they're thinking about it in the next three to 5. And the reality is is that the reason why most companies don't sell small businesses don't sell is because there is incredible owner dependence on the running of the company, both operationally and typically with sales. And they don't know how to get out of the business. So what most people probably don't know is that there's about $10 trillion worth of generational transition happening with boomers, exiting the market within the next decade. 10 trillion 1 trillion 10 trillion within the next decade.

Will America Return to the Fundamentals?

"Boomer generation of which I am a member. Grew up in an America that was obviously had issues. No society in history has not had issues. I mean, obviously in the 60s, Kennedy assassination, the Vietnam War, by the end of the 60s, Martin Luther King assassination Robert Kennedy, what year was Robert Kennedy assassinated? Was he in the 60s as well? I think so. I mean, there were a lot of the watts riots. When would the watts riots also 60s? So believe me, they were issues. But the fundamental American society was holding very strong. And then gradually dissolved. Beginning with honoring of parents, don't trust anyone over 30, that was the motto of the dissolution of the traditional America. But gave people on the 2030s, 40s, 50s in the United States peace, for the most part. Not for everybody.

Changing Priorities (MM #3956)

"The NASA minute. With Kevin mason, as people have been talking about the job situation, why there are so many openings, why they're so little service, and yet so many people looking for jobs, the one thing we found that COVID changed for almost everyone will have changed our priorities. People are now looking at their life and going, do I need to live a life differently? Sure, because kids have had to stay home and couldn't go to school. That meant do you go to work and pay for day care? Or do you just not work and stay home? A lot of baby boomers who could have retired at 62 or 65 or whatever number it was in their life decided to retire a little bit earlier than what they were planning. They didn't make it to 70. They decided to retire because they changed their priorities. The priorities of what we feel about life of how we live our life of what we want to do with our life are changing. Changing priorities because of COVID because of the world we're living in has changed our entire world. We used to want to live in a world where everything was available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and we'd pay whatever price. Now, it doesn't look like we're willing to pay that price. We have changing priorities.

Miranda Devine: 'Thank Goodness for These Right-Thinking Gen Z Saviors'

"You have a new article out. I want to ask you about the kind of ties into some of the work we're doing, at turning point USA. We have a big event coming up America fest. We'll have over 8000 young people young conservative people in Phoenix, Arizona next week. You say thank goodness for these right thinking Gen Z saviors. What do you mean by that? Well, it seems that Jen D is the generation that edge 9 to 25 who have grown up with the Internet and a cell phone in their hand and they're able to I guess find their own information and they're more skeptical about what they're fed the mission narratives from the media than their sort of millennial seniors and elders and certainly the boomers and gen X they seem to be more savvy and more willing to think for themselves. They've been fully brainwashed or attempted to be indoctrinated by their schools often by their parents as well, to sort of the left leading notions. But they can see the reality before them. And they are not trusting other authority. And they are more trusting of their peers. And I think that's what you guys do at turning point USA. It's what this group that's sort of colonized TikTok today in America is America has done as well. And that's just harness the power, the intellect, the inquisitiveness and the energy of this enormous group of voters that are coming of age. Certainly by 2024, we know that Gen Z and the millennials will be the largest voting block. And I think it's so heartening to make them. You know them you're with them all the time with turning point USA and turning them on and switching them on to the reality of politics and life and they see I think in a way with Joe Biden's. I mean, it's been terrible for America. He's presidency, but also it's been a real red pill moment, especially for young people in the

"The mason minute. With Kevin mason. I was reading a fascinating story the other day about how Generation Z and millennials don't like to say you're welcome. When they're thankful for something they usually prefer to say, no problem or no worries. Of course it has baby boomers all in a snit. I have not noticed it, yeah, I'm a baby boomer, but I haven't really noticed that before. Of course, it's all about being formal or not being formal. The world and the language have evolved over the course of time and we now live in a world less formal than previous. I remember the big deal when we first started wearing jeans to work, and everybody was so upset about that or go back even further than that when women started wearing pants to work. It's the world we live in now is much less formal and the younger generations prefer it that way. It all happens at an all evolves. But instead of saying, you're welcome, which is much too stuffy and much too formal and makes them uncomfortable. They'd rather say no problem and no worries. I'll be honest just an acknowledgment in general. That makes it okay for me because most of the times you say thank you. Nobody seems to care.

Brian Mudd: Joe Biden's Low Approval Among Young Voters Is a Generational Opportunity for Republicans

"If you go back and really take a look at the data he's been underwater with voters under the age of 34 since early June But you might imagine that the real falling out that's happened here of late That's been driven by the youngest voters These vaccine mandates I do think they play a meaningful role here You know vaccination rates are lowest wear Their lowest youngest And it stands to reason that those who've opted not to obtain a vaccine for their own health reasons and considerations up to now Don't take kindly to being threatened with their careers when they're just starting to make their way in the world And take care of their family grow a family And so what actually is happening here Is a generational opportunity It's a generational opportunity And it's a generational opportunity for Republicans if they get this right You know I'm the real life walking talking Alex B Keaton You know you take a look at the 80s and in loving Reagan was a thing It was a thing for millions in my generation He is the primary reason That those of us that were products of the 80s the gen xers tend to be more conservative than boomers or

How Do We Maintain a Human Way of Life in the Presence of New Technologies?

"I think this technology actually changes who we are. It doesn't actually help us to do what we already want to do. That's kind of a faulty talking point we hear a lot on the right. Like, oh, technology is what you make of it. That's not true. This technology actually remakes you. And so talk about what some people can actually do some actionable steps, especially people that aren't part of the digital age. Boomers, if you will, what can they do? Yeah, well, you know, I think it's important to point out that ever since the beginning, you know, technology has an independent formative effect on our senses in our sensibilities, our way of seeing the world. It brings things back from the past patterns of seeing and thinking and doing. Just at the same time that it obsoletes other things. And so, you know, you go back and look at the oral oral civilization and how it differs from civilization when the alphabet came into being how that differs from the scribal age of the Middle Ages and then again, with the invention of the printing press and then with the invention electricity and right down the line all the way to digital. So as important as it is to be to be wary and to be watchful and mindful and to understand the nature of these effects that our media have on us. And it's important to remember that technology is not neutral, even though it is indifferent to our fates as living beings, that doesn't mean that it's in some way even handed or neutral arbiter of our fates. At the same time, you know, we need to recognize that these creations of ours are not themselves evil that in many ways they're just they're just plumbing and that these are should not be objects of worship. We shouldn't look at our technological advancements, no matter how eye popping as things that are better than us or more powerful than us or have a true destiny that is more perfect or complete than ours. And I think a lot of what is motivating, you know, these kinds of unfortunate cultural trends are people who really just feel like they're being cowed. By the technologies around them. And they feel as if they have leaders who are totally disinterested in telling them how they can repair and retrieve and sustain a human way of life in the presence of these technologies. So, you know, one thing that you can do immediately, you know, aside from checking out my book, you know, you can get the details that human forever U.S. and buy it at canonic XYZ. You know, the most important thing that we can do on a personal level is to maintain our memory our human memory to recognize that our memory is special and unique to us that computers just because they can recall everything, sort of total recall, it's sci-fi. That doesn't mean that their memory works like ours does, you know, our brains are not computers. Our consciousness is not something that can just be represented by a mathematical equation. Our minds are not reducible to our brains, our bodies are not reducible to our minds. And if we bear that in mind, we will have the kind of presence of mind the peace of soul and really the mental and physical health that we need in order to survive this tremendous

A sport that had been around since the 60s, I first encountered on the east coast of the 70s and it's now the fastest growing sport in America still. I look back in 2018, I talked about this, they had seen a 12% growth jump in the last year for people playing pickleball. Now, the increase is even greater three years consistently pickleball still one of the fastest growing sports in America because it appeals to both millennials and baby boomers. It's kind of funny to think that a sport like pickleball, which is a combination of tennis and badminton and paddle ball and well not as strenuous as a lot of those other sports is still so popular. Hard to believe it's still growing after three years. And that's more impressive to me than anything. In America, it's hard to keep people's attention for 15 minutes, let alone three years, pickleball is still booming and people are still talking about it. That's a cool thing.

Because when i got to be some some other piece of machinery that you're dealing with there are technology just talking about like it was like the background kind of thing can say yeah and you said that you were acquiring things and all of a sudden stopped the i did all right because because you know what it was it was either like i already heard all the jokes about what it looks like now so i was like if i just bring other stuff in here. That will just be a whole new set of jokes. So i was like let me. Just leave it the way it is so then hopefully people get used to it and let it go. That's that's what i thought. Because i really don't have much to put in here. I got like a little table. I could put some crap on. And then also i have the fake plant. You want the fake plant back. I mean you used to have frame. Not y'all get rid of those yeah. I know someone was really happy when a ups driver in the city really loved those nuts. It was great each the morning. Show with boomer esiason and greg boomer and geo i brought back. The fake plants brought it in here. I feel like it's added something to the room. Boomer i know that this is only for the cbs sports network Viewers but i i feel like this. This is the decor and a little bit of something that you were looking for here. So i've got another idea as well. Then i'm going to bring up here but are you. Are you happier that. I've got the fake palm plant in year then the nothing at all. Yeah it looks a lot better. You know i'm just trying to help you look better. That's all talk about to do with me. It's it's yeah you don't want who's bringing it up. I'm trying to make you happy. You know if you making trying to make me happy. You made me happy so there. That's nice it's nice to. It's a nice is really is a nice pottery barn basket. What does that i probably. I would assume so that no probably probably just straight delivered from the pottery barn vows figure tanger outlets. You're out there. You're close to those yes. I know it's a nice little. Go there you get the sworn by a lot of people get some good deals right whole thing all right so i got. I got one more thing. I can add that. I think i think you'll be happy with as well. I'll do that in the next break. And i'll bring it in here. A supreme very confused as to why was taking the plant out of the room and bringing in here. I said explain. They said uncle boomer needs to get them off my back and she goes. She goes okay. Anything funchal uncle okay. And she said oh. It's uncle boomers. Fault said anything for uncle poor. I said i know sabrina anything for him. We'll make sure that it's an makes them happy all right so the next get started tonight the playoffs. It's gonna take away from the season a little. You've got mail. Oh god you're the foresee last year you get smoked in the playoffs. Which of course is gonna take a little bit away from it but you go out. You get kemba walker. You're bringing back just about everybody else and this is a team in year. Two that you want to do it least duplicate a playoff appearance. And if they don't make plans that'd be a travesty. Getting a four seat again might be very very difficult. But this is a team that i want to see. Get between forty five and fifty wins. That's what my expectation is for the knicks. This year is forty five to fifty wins back into the playoffs. And i wanted to win around now if they get into the first round. Take a very good team. It's maybe better than they are to seven games. Then i'll say okay. That's a step in the right direction after what happened last year but really what i want is a knicks fan. This year back into the playoffs. Forty five to fifty wins and winning around in the postseason. I don't know if that's asking too much. But that's what i think. The knicks at the very least should be very acceptable minimum on the season. Coming off of what last year was which was a spectacular regular season. And of course a big dud in the playoffs do what what is it that about rj barrett. That is.

Let's and then finally you get past them either merge over the full them a little bit of the flash finally they get out of the way and hit the gas and then you go past them and then you look and you give them like a little come on. What are you doing on the car behind. That bar and that causes the mess. I'm passing you by out of my way. I don't care and now you're out of my brain gain convenience me for this period of time now on past you and i'm done and we'll talk in the off season when you fire everybody you get some of these bums off the team and then maybe we'll have a conversation to see if i care next year because so far you've caused me so much. Pay my allegiance to you. Isn't that important to go through the garbage that they have given us. There's not that was a very good analogy that we all in the tri-state area could totally buy into. Because we've all been there. We've all been on my way out of my way. I don't want you in my way anymore. I don't need you in my life so that begs the question if you are in the hov lane and you get yourself stuck in one of those situations where you're in a cylinder new canc out from behind the car or whatever would would you go over the double lines or would you wait until you're allowed to move. I'm i come on. Actually i did get a ticket for doing that while you talked about this. I had mentioned air. I did end up getting a ticket for that. And you didn't drop the gio. I did not no i did. Not you have one of those police cards. That don't work e- i didn't end up using it. Regretfully i felt pay us it anyway. I you got to end it with the license. And i had it and i didn't use it and i just figured the interaction that i had with the guy when he pulled me over. I thought it was not in a good mood. No no he was. That was the thing. I thought i didn't feel like i needed it. Oh i said hey. I said sorry i said i know you guys know what i did. And he's like yeah. Yeah he's like your license clean. He gave me one of your license. Said yes sir my licenses cleaning let me just check will be right back thinking that he's going to check to see if i'm so maniac. That's got some felonies on my record. Or maybe i was drunk outside of a courthouse at four thirty in the morning or something like that right you know and he comes back. Got nothing on my license and then pull the ticket out so long. How long those tickets to crazy. Just checking license. One thing about those ticket printers now leash you understand exactly who the officer is in. What what you are accused of. Yeah and you could read it back in the day. You could never read it because they had crappy handwriting. Well also what i learned is that you know this is a new system. You know once they write that take. You're done you're you are you on. That is in. there is no going back. I i've been there man. There's no there's no like corn phone interface. "Under contract next season you just hand. It's not smart business. It's not after seeing that performance in the postseason. You can't give him every penny if you if you had to take the all the playoff teams that are playing right now and you had to rank the players one through twenty. Where would be that list. I mean after this he'd be way down. I mean with that but that's the pie in the nba. It is about players. Antipasto knows that every coach ever coached the nba knows that and you have to have players. You have to have top end players if you want to win and to me. The trae young trae young is a top end player. He is a pain in the ass to deal with and he makes your offense worse because of the energy that you have to expel or or to us to stop him on on his offensive side of the ball. I and they don't have anybody even remotely close to that. No that's why. I keep saying point card point guard. Point guard is what makes this whole thing going. You watch james harden play.
