New York could become first state to fully decriminalize sex work
"Three. Some Albany legislators say, criminalising sex work between consenting adults only empowers sex traffickers, and they believe it's time for a change package of bills has been introduced in both the assembly and Senate to bring sex work out of the shadows for statewide Bill of its country would decriminalize trade insects between consenting adults Nina low as a member of decree, New York. Families or to pay for gender affirming house care. So we don't want to criminalize, therefore survival, and that's why we're decriminalizing both a sale and purchase a sex. Bonin say it would promote sex trafficking pimping, and organized crime at supporters say Bill would leave laws against human trafficking rape, and assault in place with the end of the legislative session less than a week away. "Welcome back to coast to coast AM. My guest is William Bonin and he's talking about out of body travel. And he's been doing twenty five years of research at the Monroe institute surveyed over sixteen thousand participants who have gone through the OB training at the Monroe institute Virginia, and he's come up with a common the reported phenomenon associated with these Lovie ease. William I was wondering if you could explain some of this tour audience. Yes. Just to clarify. I've been at the Monroe institute for the last eight years. Oh, okay. But I've been studying Nissim practicing at for forty just to go on my website, Astro info dot org. I included over a period of ten years. I did a number of surveys, and I received sixteen thousand responses from people that had out of body experiences. And this is from forty two different countries, by the way, and it's it was amazing. How similar the kind of experiences that people were having were so similar. It didn't matter what the culture was for instance, floating or vibrations, high energy sensations eighty five percent of people experienced buzzing humming. A roaring sounds as a as a prelude normally to the experience. Because normally when you're in the experience things become very, generally speaking or quiet, but there's. A lot of phenomena associated with the onset. Seventy two percent at some point experienced some kind of partial or full asleep or Alice. Being lifted or touched that was quite common. Thirty three percent hearing voices are footsteps thirty seven percent. This is one that's very common. Probably to almost anyone and that is seen through closed eyelids. If you're seeing through your closed eyelids at night, and you can begin to see you are already in the process of shifting your consciousness to your non physical body. It doesn't mean you've exited your body. But it means you're in the process, but most people don't know this because they haven't been trained in the in the prelude in the phenomena associated these are common things that for instance, probably the most common, it's just a jerk awake. You feel like you just you taken a nap. And suddenly, you just jerk back in your body. Right. I find too many people feel that that's an indication. You're you're out of phase with your body is your fell asleep. So that that's the because that happens if I'm overtired I will twitch, and I think it's just muscles and nerves you're saying that's an out of body experience. Though. I'm I'm saying I'm saying it's a prelude to one potentially. This is what I have found and what many other experiencers have seen and explored every. One when they sleep we all humans are moving at a phase from our bodies. That's what sleep is. We take it for granted. No one. There's no we we know about ram periods. And we know about this from a scientific standpoint, but what happens for that one third of our life. We're actually moving out of phase with our body. And when you leave your body, you can observe other people it's like a double image. People literally are floated I'm not saying they're floating up to ceiling. They're just like two.
LA City Council committee to electric scooter riders: Slow down!
"Return our attention. To one of our favorite topics sharable electric scooters joining us as. Councilman Mike Bonin he is an advocate for setting safe electric scooters. Speeds and of course enforcing those speeds thank you for joining us Let's talk about enforcing those speeds. Because, before, we even get to. That can. You tell us very succinctly how, in wash Angeles for that matter anywhere else these scooters have been writing we're going to enforce the laws already on the books about people not writing on the sidewalks people not writing without helmets. People not going faster than? A certain speed, limit people not writing them if they're night eighteen years of. Age people not writing them unless they, have, for. Driver's license and we're going to enforce, all of that. Well okay that's, a big question. I'm glad run in depth So let me step back just a second. On this note the phenomenon here the electric scooters which have popped up in in in. Los Angeles biggest thing I hear about from constituents biggest thing, you probably hear about is folks are sick of being, stuck in traffic gridlock and one of the only ways that we can get. Out of that is if. We increase choices for people to get around in Los Angeles if we, increase mobility options and different phenomenons are are coming up you know we're we're we're. Building more mass transit more. Neighborhood shuttles we're trying to make a bus and walking or biking and walking easier and this is one that has emerged. That is really popular with a lot of folks. We need to have to make it work well for everybody, a sensible and enforceable regulatory scheme here in Los Angeles and that's what the city council has been. Working, on, my committee discussed yesterday. That's all well and good But I'm going. To stop you there because. He didn't answer the question how, are we going, to enforce the laws already on the books for the state of. California doesn't make a difference what the. City of Los Angeles does or doesn't do throughout the entire state it is illegal to. Ride these things on sidewalks to league all the things I just ticked off so how are we going to enforce that first before we get, to speed limit answered that one way we're going to do it, is through, these, regulations, if if things are not working well we. Can revoke the permits for the companies so one of the regulations that. We're putting down is that on the the base of the scooter you have to have. In a forty eight point font no riding on the sidewalks, because if you talk to most of the folks on, the scooters they think they're supposed to be on the sidewalks that education step. Is is key right there The second is you know where they get left a lot of, folks are complaining that they're left in the middle of the sidewalk where requiring. Them to have as part of their software something that will alert them. If the scooter is not in an upright position and then they have. To ours wants a report goes into actually move something and if if they are not abiding by all of this stuff we can revoke their permit to operate in Los Angeles entirely or we. Can go out and we can impound the vehicles the way we're dealing with the speed limit element. Is yeah LAPD is not going to go out and have a radar gun and be checking the speed of folks but they have built into their systems. They governor which regulates the speed and, my understanding is bird is about fifteen miles. An hour one of the new companies wanted to come in and compete for speed and go twenty miles an hour so we're saying as we're putting these, regulations in place for the, first year let's set twelve miles an hour as what they have, to have as governor and that's about the average. Speed of folks traveling in a bike lane And then we can go from. There but that way the enforceability is built in they physically can't go more than the twelve miles okay, so you've taken care of the speed. Issue which, I was going to. Ask you about what about the insurance of people who were. There are gonna be injuries because of this how much liability relies on the city how much lies on. The individual companies that are involved well we're requiring them even for a conditional, permit while we're regular we're putting the regulations in place where requiring them to. Have liability insurance to have indemnification for the city we are charging them Device for performance. Bond to help pay for some of our cost in dealing with managing, in cleaning up the impacts Los Angeles, city council, member Mike,
