I have a sit-in and that's that's because. I think we're gonna have a better season than than people think. Because of haley's a big loss is a big loss. Bought a clear clear game plan for me and a clear understanding of what is required from the playas on a game by game basis. I think it's worth a hell of a lot. They're going to be some concerns that you're going to have for the year i want. Start with you on this one. Grant your concerns for the club. The she onfield off-field anything off. Got one but i'm gonna Morning at the end because mas more of a playa rather than macleod perspective incense for mind this year and all jokes aside There are a few at the cloud bryant and of even i the staunchest investment supporters need to admit agreed with what study said earlier. We have deliberately seiken step back with regards to the draft but we do realize that we need to get some different types of supplies into the club there is absolutely no mistake as to why we drafted tolls we dropped the tolls for a reason. We need to get some of that That mocked me ability around the grand. Like sorry for mine. The the concern. That i have is that we have taken a step back to go forward and the kid. There's a lot of pressure on the kids that we've drafted to be that catalyst to move forward. The catalyst of having hippo down stuffing do what he's going to do. I think there's i hope we don't pull a jacob or somebody like that and put zachary damn back and talks upfront and siro talented tolls do your talented toll thing and they get monster. Just i am married. i must marta. I am interested to see how we manage this phase of is it going to be a long step back or is it going to be a short one because we pick up some kids and we pull a cotton and get sam walsh and get some good young kids coming through and then they start to look i. K- yeah it's a fair point are recommending a year or two. Or if you have re build. And it's not a full rebuild. It's more of a clean up. That's the thing couples cholera in a lot. Worse position than you guys have. A great reality is a two hundred eight football Aunt outset yet. You may need when we always talking about rockland. I got united twenty. Three twenty four is when i really started to get the bearing someplace in good footy nine tragedy three two hundred cinemas guys you yet just the reality is that just not gonna be physically gifted as yet to compete every week in f. moi only concern ease. It's actually a playa that's david zaharakis. And just think unfortunately one of the christians launch an almighty and bring it forward. Was you know we've spoken about a couple of breakout role. Model them was uc breakdown. Who's going to be in their season. And i'll just think that the way things are going zaharakis could be mockby. He's last year. He is who she ing. Thirty one will be thirty. Three ball the tallest season. Keith seen I it's actually just turned thirty bucks. So that's how i is creek. What he was nar is crafty is what he was. Not pretty half is sort of in that no man's land. He's not a forward. He's not a backman. He is a midfielder. But when you're trying to compete against some of the nights that we spoke earlier it's got to be hard for him. He's got concern from is perspective whose visual have a. Do you have a breakdown imply that you think could be woobie day last season regardless if it's free agency whether it's a full whether it's you know what just gonna retire at the end of the i i think personally made the early freedom now. Highly is gonna be I think he's quite serious. What he's gotland people very much understand. It's very very serious thing that he's got As for the rest of his life rather than anything to do football now Who has had consistent back issues And he's definitely aging annual sahara okkas For people who don't know hasn't been to one session training bisheh. He's bought he. He had surgery in november coming off a poor year. We're obey honest. his biggest issue is either. He's either has purple patch for weeks where he gets possessions in gigs. Three thousand looks. But then you'll have a six week period of literally being invisible and it's probably frustrated seventy on fans and it's it's one thing that we've said on podcasts. That we kind of almost the challenge a little bit to truck inciting nail. This klopp has to peak guys who earned a spot. Like if you if you want to change the culture the you did. You got to do that. If they're captain that's that's a statement and a half this are he's you'll always be known since iraq is for that beautiful finish to the the anzac day guy. Many many many moons ago but he once again he's running out of the law and that's probably been a little bit malonga over. These probably hasn't deserved it. Franklin down the wing. Even you laugh at that when you say that why i should before kyle. Mary's argument probably being there to like. If you've been buying thirty when you were young and you'd see the ball screwed up and some jumps gone after you think right your mind and you chasing him and you think a hit and then it just stops the put away from you so you you keep it up into drawer guy. The some strange in he'd be in for a week he'd get twelve positions. I ain't fifteen positions and they drop in for three weeks for some weird reason. But i think he's. He's about six foot. Three is a reasonable sized arrangement. And i think now he's very comfy with regards to how he gets the ball and how he despises of the ball side him around. The bowl is going to be a bit better job coldwell even though he is not exactly a big unit is condom made so those guys in an under a going to be able to give it out to the more. Skillful guys like she'll who onis die when he gets a a step is a ferrari of obliged to god is runs and mcgrath's assigned thing. He's got to touch the wang about him. You've you've got fifteen kids who have applied less than ten guides. Ten games all lace so at the top of the food giant. Yeah probably might be lacking a couple of the older experienced has but you can understand. There were a couple of life. But then you've got all these young guys that if we throw them into the thrust and fell football away. They'll do certain team that i'm very very close to and those kids again and get smashed. Anes could get ugly so you really need that middle to really stay healthy for a lease the next year to help these young kids get through. You can't afford you. Can't afford more than my full of father is most to placing their bodies are just gonna get smashed. The see see that happening. Would you think that what you've got implies at the moment especially for midfield spec eve he's gonna hold you out. I feel quite mature to be on us because I think i think she'll merit Mariah langford looking at these guys. They i mean they pretty the breen around for four or five even parish. Stephen smith are these kind of guys. Something that's the area where we're pretty young. I'm not saying we're brita. But we're pretty solid at and i think john caldwell even quite young from what i serve him. It training If i'm for anyone who From what i've seen of john. Paul will i'll be putting him on. Isi pay because he's looks. He's looking at officer before secretary. Is this razors in any looks. Real very talented guy was a top ten. Pick the previous year a actually to sorry to to I think there's some There's no doubt like harrison giants up forward roy Talent hasn't played a game yet. So there's no doubt this is going to be the way we we're gonna apply keats but the reality is your expectation has to be somewhat realistic because they got to be developed. Gotta learn the guy in they're gonna have moments where you guy. Wow and then they also have moments on strong defenders. That gonna do a number on them. And that's that's part of their education. So you're you're it's. It's going to be a bit of everything this year. And you have to hollywood boulevard about yourself because you've got mcgraw merit parish. She'll smith and i also apply a very similar talk of talk of mole like they're not all inside the not all all and there are other clubs who have similar talk of issue. Moms one of them as well too similar type of we've got old grunts but we don't have the polish on the outside you'll sort of missing that is can you see someone else ought of that. Realm that will bay that class on the ad saud's or deliver out for because like i said with the limits of with limited stocks. You have down four. Would you really need to make sure you go. Clay going into the fifty. Otherwise it's got a nike to a bit of a challenge to to keep that school so put cox and perkins campbell come into play because one plays on the wing one's going to be some polish and expect but as time it's time but that's that's how they recruited can we can. We mentioned someone that i reckon like. If this doesn't make you smile when you watch him just a football Who is exactly that a football. I know you're gonna say auto think you do jordan ridley. Exactly who your guy. Twenty six games. That was he sick. And so coming and bayonet at the club and there's a lot of big names running around in the black black and red fuel fuel mob to do what he did up in the hub. Is this gonna go. Future captain written all ivory. Was it just me. He may very well. How many amy mcgrory. Carr's got the next captaincy stitched up bought jordan released. Just exactly what you just said the guys in football every day of the week. He knows what he needs to do. He's he's down back. He's my comfortable decisions. Looks like he's been there for ten years. One of the great. The great joys are asking for the selection committee and is the detroit really dan. The and very rarely gets bait. So there's one position that she can. She can take off every week when he absolutely and i guess one of the to be scotty say we and what she said chris. We do have midfielders of roughly the same size. It's a it's a it's it's one of the things a lot of people signing two door. Why didn't he get the big bodied as the big bodied mid that we need right now. The mythical big muddied made a wonderful thing and if you can find them at the draft position that the cubs been giving out the door for the last few they news then now. You'll get dunkley like we tried to pinch if we could do that. Then that'd be great but we people say well we shouldn't have got smith she'll and saw because they're all again the same sort of size but that kind of talent we needed to bring into the club. What we what we do need is one play that i think.

I have no I I don't think I would want to zoom myself into my kid's classrooms like every day for an entire school year but for like a week or so it would be so much fun. I would really slowly and then we get old. I think a lot of it too is not so much about how their child is doing, but I think a lot of pants at curious as to how their child compares. Yes, I think a lot of you know there and a lot of that going on onto of sort of okay. So and so's reading like that. Okay. Lying also living the Hornets nest of. Privacy with kids with disabilities unbelievable to have people who are not authorized to be in the classroom being able to watch although there is a I know that like. The Way I've seen it is where they're in session doing like whole class activities on them then Ha Then there's a break, can then kids go off into different breakout rooms? Areas. Thing. So but I guess yeah, if you're in. If your child is in a breakout room with another child that might be an issue. Yeah. I just wouldn't want other parents to see how how my kid is making it through the day. Why is my kid in the class with that kid that kid can't sit still and that can't pay attention. My kid is doing much better. I. Just see I have a friend who teaches or as A. paraprofessional as special, ed classroom and. "I don't know I. Don't know why parents are so. Nervous about things but I would have been too so. It's such A. I don't have a I don't have. I don't have an answer for that. Honestly because the parents side to me would be like you know not not like the whole day or anything, but just split checking in. On. More from a teacher perspective to like was. House teaching or what she doing. Is Effective and That's so much for my daughter but. Yeah like I said. Now I mean teachers won't even are really reluctant to send or to to create assignments for kids because they just. You know parents her. ARE GOING TO DO THEM With over. Yeah, it's hard to. Or you get the parent that is sitting just off to the left of the camera. Giving, the Child, the answers and So it's not. A fair representation of. Of School that's for sure in many ways so. Unless, of course I remember when I taught kindergarten grade one and I would have parents Danny outside appearing in the window. You weeks of school. This is what my this is. One of the reasons why my daughter stop teaching learn to skate. 'cause they had they had her teaching like three and four year olds have escaped and you know the parents were hovering like crazy. and. She was like she just couldn't stand being watched like that. Because you know how three euros. Sadly you spend the whole entire class, just picking them up and. Sending them back on their feet so They need to do that over zoom. So the parent is the one holding the kid up and I'm sure is just saying, okay. Now Sally, put your left foot for. She might have done better if she if she got to virtual teach skating and stuff. That's right person. Yeah. That's The other zoom bombing possibility of apparent forgetting that there's a camera on things in the background that perhaps not to be seen but have to be seen by the dire glass. Happens to I have heard till those situations and. Probably. That would have been me too although I would have been sitting with my kids. So but you forget I, mean, stuff's your kids at a computer, the dining room table in your house you forget that they're. Live so to speak and. Life just kind of goes on right on. That could be a problem. I. Wonder How many classrooms are disrupted by barking dogs. Like podcasts are so. My sleeping right now everybody which. Takes us. We're just somebody shout something from one bedroom to the other bedroom. Endless everybody can hear US 'cause. As I hear. Your microphone.

I saw this delightful story on the Wall Street Journal about parents who are involving themselves in their children's online classes to a degree that the teacher has to say stop that. And I laugh because that would totally have been me I would have liked selected online learning for the purpose of sitting there and watching everything you get a watch everything that happens in the classrooms. "Would be so difficult to defend against that the air corps could win a war all by itself. The group of insurgent pilots at the Air Corps Tactical School were known as the bomber Mafia. They were a group of individuals coming together to construct ideas about applying the technology bombing at the day in order to win a war against Germany. That's the historian Robert. Pape, who wrote a book called bombing to win about the origins of many of the ideas taught at the Air Corps School. The bomber Mafia gave lectures to select groups of officers arguing theorizing, and they're not really investigating the psychology of bombing. They're not investigating the sociology bombing they're not really even investigating. The politics of the bombing that is the implications bombing what have for populations societies, and for governments What they're really doing is focusing line what the technology of the bombing of the time what target sets it would allow the bombers to hit in one of the most famous technical school lectures major. Muir Fairchild gave two day presentation in April of Nineteen thirty, nine on what a single behind attack on New York City could do to America's will to fight. Fairchild was a charter member of the bomber Mafia. He would later rise to number two in the air force. He says imagine that Germany and the United States are in the midst of brutal land war in Europe. Germany decides to take up New York could they do it? Fairchild says easy. They have a a hypothetical scenario and do they imagine that group of well equipped bombers could bring the United States or at least new. York City to its knees in an event of any kind of conflict. Yep. Absolutely. The bombing that they're focusing on are number one the bridges number two they have the bombing of the ducks. The Mommy of the Akwa Ducts is important because what they WANNA do is they want to cause massive thirst in the New York population they basically want to create a situation where there's almost no potable water for the population to drink and the number three they target electric power. In his lecture major fairchild argues the academics are the most obvious targets. Then as the power grid Fairchild directs his students to a chart, the aerial bomb burst, his traction electric power in the New York City area. Quote we then see seventeen bombs if dropped on the right spots will not only take out practically all of the electric power of the entire metropolitan area but will prevent the distribution of outside power. Seventeen bombs could bring the most important city in the world to its knees. The old idea was that you would just bum the whole city, reduce it to rubble with wave upon wave of choline dangerous bombing attacks, Fairchild, point was. Did you do that if you could use your intelligence and the best of modern technology to disable the city with a single surgical strike? You would put amazing stress on the quote will of the enemy meaning the civilian population which was already under stress, and then they just lead to the conclusion that the civilians would crack and demand an end to the war. They really thinking of the Air Force in this. In this, thinking this teaching as the primary arm of the American military discount of conflict there. Certainly thinking that the bomber alone or air power alone is going to win the war and what they're thinking is that it's GonNa win the war and prevent mass carnage strike occurred in World War One where the armies clashed together year after year after year and millions and millions of people died in the meat grinder of the trenches in World War One. For thousands of years, wars had been about armies of men fighting more or less in hand to hand combat on fields a battle the bomber mafia believe bombs carried by planes were about to make the armies of men obsolete. The school was never very large in twenty years of existence. It produced just over a thousand graduates, but it was enormously influential. Of the three hundred, twenty air force generals on duty at the end of World War Two. Two hundred sixty one came out of the tactical. School. And one of those graduates was Curtis Emerson May. "Rebecca bombers on a phone line. Sees a Texas elementary school teachers, she turned her students artwork into a dress. She is the most valuable person on the planet on WGN radio this morning, Rebecca, John Williams here. Good morning. How are you? Good morning. I'm great. We keep this conversation. A little shorter than we originally planned because we're dealing with the troubling that situation here you are in elementary school teacher, right? Yes. Yes. I'm at work right now. Highland village, Texas. Tell us what happened there. Well about a year ago. I was cutting my into the year art show, and I've seen a couple of ideas on Facebook about decorating dresses for a different different ways different different occasions. And I thought it would be fun for my kids to get excited about coming to the art show that decorate my dress. And so they would have, you know, come to art show and show not only their artwork off that also the artworks that was I was wearing office. So and that worked out really good. So this year for our district art show decided to wear it again to, you know, show them that they could come to the district art show, and they would see me in the dress again 'cause they always asked me to wear it again. And my daughter took a picture and post it on. I think it was Twitter. I didn't even know. And then she called me the next day. And she was like, hey, you might want to get on Twitter. So that's pretty much how it happened. So then you go kind of viral. Yeah. I mean kind of within that weekend. I wasn't really like I said, I I have a Twitter account. But I haven't been really active on it in though, I kinda got back on and started watching that the Twitter numbers go out. And and then, of course, it went other social media outlets as well. So I kind of went viral though, and it was kind of shocking. And so you teach about five hundred eighty students ages three to eleven is that correct? Yes. Uh-huh. And did they all ages of all ages contributed to the dress? Yeah. So we had some guidelines like keep it at small as the palm of your hand. And don't join work and appropriate thing things on my like some coaching there. But yeah, pretty much. Everybody had a chance to go and draw had it out for about two weeks on a bag table with the while the sharpies fabric markers. And you know, I kind of walked back there and keep an eye on things that are the most part they take care of business and decorated it, you know, I think a real nice take away from the story. I mean, everybody's March madness. And you're talking to a studio full of people that like sports, I. Enough to celebrate. Art. If if I if I writing I would make sure every school had a fulltime art teacher. I think that is great. So some kids can't play basketball don't wanna play football, but they have an artistic we should embrace that. And I think this viral dress really does that. Well in my experience as a child I didn't have our Intel moved to Kansas when I was in third grade. And I I only had it for one year in the move their way back to Arkansas didn't have it again. And then I actually moved out of the country and had art again and take our friend probably sixth grade on and never stopped. But you know, I remember sitting in that third grade room when we had art for very first town and thinking, oh my gosh. I hit the jackpot, you know, actually have an art teacher, and I get to do their own school. Pretty awesome. And it's also an example of collaboration, and what we can all do together and make something beautiful that wasn't planned or you know, it's not perfect. That's nice because you. The things that other life lessons. We think we learn from sports you could learn from a creative art teacher. Let's collaborate. Let's together. Let's do something. We can all you know, feel victorious about. And if you have not yet look at Rebecca Bonner, the Texas school teachers dress online, congratulations. Rebecca, thanks for thanks for that. And what lucky kids to have a teacher like that? Welcome to lower Wacker live free twelve twenty nineteen. Justin kaufman. Hey, programming note. I'm in for Rokon today. Seven twenty WGN here. The the ipad office thing was obviously a public thing. Right. So and I'm sure to the world that was a God. This is not you know, bombers, Microsoft wasn't. It wasn't. Didn't just invent shut up. Yeah. Decision to make that happen. And then the delegate to execute it. Right. But it's like when you go to prison. I don't know if you've ever been to prison. Please. But I'm not really because you he was very very much against it. But he was also very decisive from the beginning and say, let me get the hang of the lay the land couple of months. What do they call it? When you he had a mandate. Right. And I think none of this stuff was rise to anybody. Right. So his feelings about Nokia his feelings about surface many. You know, whatever I think these things were well understood why before each and when they hired him they knew they entered. I, you know, I this is honestly as much credit as we will. And should give such Adela for what he's done. I think that Microsoft institutionally deserves a lot more credit for understanding the position it was an how it needed to change? And that a guy like him was necessary to drive that change that Bill Gates coming back. Some guy who had been at the company for eighteen years, very visible. Obviously in line to be CEO was not the right way that they couldn't do that that one of the issues with Steve bomber is that he was the George H W Bush of that thing where he was going to continue the tradition of the previous guy. You know, they Microsoft mistake to be fair to bomber. He did for the company did very well. Of course. I didn't. I didn't mean it like that. But when you wanna make but the world has changed now. So it's years down the road. Everything's changed agree Microsoft is going to slowly disappear and Bill coming back baby. So yeah, let's let's something new I you have to give him credit for doing this. Most companies can't absolutely, you know, it's incredible. This is a case study in business school..
