"Interesting bomani because it kinda makes me think about the larger conversation. Sports fans are having with the athletes and coaches they root for there's more of a transparency now as a sports fan not only. Do you want your favorite coaches and players to succeed. But oftentimes you want them to feel the same as you politically to stand up for issues that you believe in to have investments in companies you support the law that we put on these these men and women and it's a different time in the sports fan player coach relationship and the point. You're making about bobby bowden. The way he wanted to be remembered. What other choice do we have a sports fans to remember him that way and then for whatever we take away from that so where do you think the line draws with how much we can kinda poke in pry into the personal lives and personal beliefs of these men and women well. I think that there's a difference between asking people to agree with you politically and preferring that those that you pay homage to not believe support and endorse things that are somewhere between offensive and struck That i don't think is actually anything new Think about this case in point. I think it's in nineteen eighty three lou. Holtz gets fired at arkansas. Because he filmed campaign ad for jesse helms from his office. Now keep in mind. This is in the state of arkansas in nineteen eighty three and that got him fired. Okay and that's not just simply because they that is not something that was done simply because people disagree with jesse helms. I bet he pulled very well state. But you understand the point that i'm making that these things have come up all the time and we'd had them come up at many times that without i am obliged do from south land a little bit different for me because people who grew up in the age range of generation that idea which is coming after the beginning of some dawn of integration. You come across. Bobby bowden all the time and they treat you really really good. They're very nice. They charm your mama everything else but given your knowledge of the prevailing views of the area that you end you can't help but wonder to some degree. What this guy. Maybe not things about you but what he would think about you. You were not you if that makes sense. And there's a particular sorta heartbreak they can come up when you're that person and you hear somebody endorse something or put something that is not just something you disagree with but something that is an opposition to think that a fundamental to your be. I think throughout time and across the board no matter who the people are. They have made decisions about who they're going to root for in not root for based on those sorts of things and so. I don't think that part is really anything new. I think the part that do is that you have much more chatter about it. All things like those are bedia and so you wind up here. People say a lot of things out loud and it will be amplified but then in the end if whoever that person is winds up winning and nobody cares. We decided to have it with kanye west. Think about all the things you hear people say about. How done they were. Because they west he put on people up in stadium and the delta variant to go listen to albuquerque. Wendy with the album's about to come out. It's almost perfect l. Bomani waiting for it to be just right. You gotta get it just right appreciate you taking some time the right time. Podcast with bomani jones. Lastly i want to leave you with this you know we just had executive director of the wnba. Terry jackson come on the other day and talked about this. New commissioner's cup. The wnba has kicked off on thursday night. And you saw team. Usa get their seventh gold medal in a row filled with huge stars. In the w coming back for the second half of the season what do you make of the cultural moment. That the w seems to be experiencing right now where it seems like for the first time in my lifetime. There's a laundry list of players who are really active in the cultural space society. You can feel their presence on social media. What do you make for the second half of the wnba season and what's happening in that sport. The big thing that happened is the basketball is really good And i it. Never watch a whole lot of wb basketball. But i did watch kind of at the dawn of the sport and a little bit more as it went along and follow the plan that we have now is just so much higher than it was before and i also think that with social media where it's really helped the wnba is. I understand everyone who says that they wanna see for prominent coverage wnba like on espn radio sportscenter so forth and so on right. I totally get that but on sportscenter for example. If it's a one hour episode of sportscenter they only got one hour and they have to figure out how to allocate that our and that's largely based on what the metrics are that. Say that people are interested in something right like there. Aren't that many thing that people are putting on television or in a broadcast medium just to somebody right like this is not public at the typically. Not how it works. Something like women's basketball can really win on social media though because you get a lot more people who have the option of opting in themselves and a lot more people who can share the content with people that would not ordinarily get it. So if i follow somebody who for whatever reason i'm into what they're talking about and i have a measure trusted them. They if they are. Wnba fans are then going to talk about the wnba and they're gonna talk about women's basketball and you're going to be able to read some people don't digest wouldn't have gotten otherwise in large part because they're going to sign up for what the person who is putting it out there is doing they trust that person and so if i were to get on for example and start talking about the wnba. They're going to be people who ordinarily would not have watched it. That are going to be like look. I don't know might be wrong on this. I'm going to check it out. And now you get more people who are into it more people who are talking about it and you're not bound by the finite resources of more 'gate-keeping type of operations with bigger out. What they're going to get their precious time to appreciate the insights as always huge fan. Your work loved the podcast and really appreciate you taking some time man touch on a lot of different stuff all right. No problem man. You guys have a good day. Money jones even owning the show. The right time podcast absolutely right guys like bomani myself. Get out there. Talking about the w inspiring basketball fans to check it out and you get to watch stuey doer. Thing looking for the commissioner's cup team. Usa getting done seven in a row. It's a great time for women's hoops. right now. season starts up this weekend. Hey coming up next well. We got about twenty minutes so salima right. Yes coming up next. i would like your help. I need your help. Brockman guy are resonant degenerate. I'd like to bet on baseball game tonight. Which dame.

"To the show. Ben lines in for ridge. The show rolls on this is the rich eisen show. Have you ever seen that. We just played for the radio is we just played the ray liotta poster clip from like six years ago poster in in the dressing room here. But i haven't seen. That clipper ray liotta with an axe smashing the poster because wasn't his signature on. Yeah it's good a piece of movie. Promotional material ever received as a voting member of the broadcast film critics and they send us all stuff trying to get our votes ridiculous and shit stop but the best thing i ever got with some ray liotta honey from b-movie delicious movie was putting that ray leona honey on my toast all year. Long the jerry seinfeld be moving there. Someone thought it was a good idea to send all the journalist. Ray liotta honey some. That's been the trend in sports. Last couple years guys who these cryptic messages on instagram and twitter bizarre. Kyrie's been known to do them. My guy carmelo anthony. I love him. He dropped some words of wisdom every once in a while. You pointed out the michael. Thomas tweet dumbest yesterday. Jeez cryptic tweet from michael. Thomas also an instagram post. I thought who better to speak on this issue than bomani jones because bomani jones one of the great voices in all sports media and i know he's very passionate about the subject of people posting on instagram without using photos. What are your thoughts on. Michael thomas bomani. All i'm saying about all of these people do you let me know if i'm wrong. How many people that you see always post all these words on instagram. How many of them do you ever ask for advice right. Something about this era lead people to believe that people need advice from them right like no matter what. Somebody's out there and they believe that somebody needs to hear from them. And i just wanna know whoever. Ask them what they thought. I play like any of the people that i would ask them what they thought they. Don't give the stuff away. They just don't want if you're an assistant coach in new orleans. And you bring this to the attention of sean pain. What sean pains reaction. Here's the one thing though they notice dude right like none of them are surprised by this being thing that's happening. And he seems to be a do people on his own team and on his other team kinda struggled or like like. I imagined that there's some people who do. Don't get me wrong. I want nobody in the world likes for. The percentage of people seem to dislike. Michael thomas is higher than the average. So this has happened. I don't know what actually went down. That's the one thing. I do want to be fair about. But that's michael thompson spot. At this point. He is welcome to let us know how he was protected them. Why are you still protected them. If it's like this money. Jones joins the show the right time with bomani jones. We cut comes to football this time of year. What gets you really fired up. Is it a tray. Lance pass in practice is the fact that we're hearing carson wentz is planning to be the week one starter despite the foot injury. What gets you fired up for football this time year. Oh absolutely nothing like this year because it would be different. If i didn't work in this right like at some point. I could chill as what i get to relax. We had the nba finals. Like three weeks ago. Or something like that so like i. i do. Enjoy a good hold out. I will admit that. I'd probably seems counterintuitive but i do like watching the back and forth of a hold out far more than anything else i can happen at a pre k. Tuna fan of your work for a long time. Now i get so associated with being a big holdout guy that bomani. He's always rooting for holdouts. I love that. You're also a sneaker expert in our buddy. Tj jefferson had a little trouble with an old pair air jordan. Pull them out of the closet there by eight nine years old and the soul fell off older than that. I just had the repair of high top jordan twos. I hadn't worn them in about five years. Put on yesterday so ripped right off quentin. Richardson came on the show and suggested that tj build a wine cellar in his home or new preserve the shoes not realizing tj's de social media producer at the rich eisen show and wine cellar. Not really in the equation. What do you do to preserve all your shoes. I know you're big sneaker. Modern many on enough to worry so much about the. I think it'd be really gets to a point where you gotta think about how to keep them up that long you might want to consider. I did a donation of a whole bunch of shoes. And i'm a small lake so i had to make that happen. I will know that they were joined to the people to mostly. It's at detroit very often. I make a comparison. That doesn't have a whole lot of in diagram. Overlap with people who care for the jordan. Jewish basically the equivalent of the led zeppelin three like people out there who really really love it in comparison to everything else on the run. Its bid of the skipper bomani. I got really excited this morning. Just as a fan of basketball great stories. The idea of russell westbrook coming home to los angeles. We'll analyze turnovers in the three pointers. The shot selection later but for right now. Just the idea of this kid was a fan of the lakers. Lost his friend growing up played for you as ucla. Stayed in la. Now he's getting a chance to come home. I think it's a great story. What are your thoughts on. Russ coming home to the lakers he. I'm a big russell. Westbrook fan right. Like he's just a person where alike is get down like way. He handles things by and large. I like in the stories that you hear about that. Don't you know. Come out nearly as much about just kind of the good duke iraq with him on this. I have no idea how this is going to work as a basketball thing. None whatsoever of i. I'm inclined to think that is not simply that his best days are past us. But i think that. Like i don't even know how good the next day go to wind up being but what i do wanna see. We've never seen him asked to play a whole quite as secondary what they're going to ask him to play here like even with the rock. They did a lot of staggered with him in heart and so russell still had like thirty percent usage rate and with washington even with brad. Beal there these still put up a grip of shot. He's a clear number three here in best case scenario. So i'm wondering how he's gonna wind up adapting to that because say what you want about russell westbrook. I do believe that he is willing to make certain alterations to do what is necessary to win. I think he really believe all that other stuff is gonna help win the things that we wild. Oh complaining about. I don't think you'll be able to look into faces. Say that about how he fits on this roster at the right time with bomani jones. Podcast is the podcast. Bomani joins us right now. Ben lines rich on the rich eisen show. We stay in los angeles. Talk some clippers. Tj a huge fan. I don't get it bomani. I don't know how you can be the best player on a team and be so aloof and so difficult to get a read on and set the tone for the rest of the organization. Where do you stand on colli or seen a guy behave like this and the nba. Don't even know how anybody is like..

"The house. saturday nights so astro pin been is is something that That andrew van is started. You know one. It's it's the moniker of that. You know our our music collapse stuff but also representation of another part of the journey that we both gone through like andrew has always been a spiritually in tuned person. You know he's always been numerology in the strategy and the connections of that in the universe in the black experience so him on his own side you know he's he's. He's died in became an expert in terms of like numerology and his spiritual practices with that and interestingly enough enough like in the last year two years or so like i've gone on a weird spiro journey really tapping into astrology and tapping into that practice as a profession as well so so. That's really the the origin Astro pippen on astro pimp a numeral trick because he teaches people how to trick their numbers furnished. Rachel growth in enlightenment in teach you how to pimp. You're you're your stars for your benefit So yeah that's where astro pimp came from. So you know. Put off the collab- on that but when we got on clubhouse was like this could be a platform where we can one monetize make money. You know providing our services so every saturday we will open up a rome and we kinda just talk about astrology. Do free readings for people you know. They'll give media birth time Info or they'll give andrew The numbers that he needs. And yeah we do. Live readings play migratory in the background. We played them beats in the background. That's just a kill. Bob providing a service that was like one of the first experiences of people actually monetize on peripheral do cash. Apps love donations. Whatever that show bob. Pairing music and spirituality you know creating experience Something that you know that does exist on other platforms. People have been doing But was didn't exist yet on clubhouse so we were kind of like one of a very few people to bring that side to that space kind of notice. The difference of how clubhouses change in just a short time. We've been on it. We got in with the beginning of the year. It was like a j. rey. Second run into and it has morphed a lot. Every week is like a month so it is a interesting place. I think a lot of people will love it once. They actually get to get to understand.

"Used to like i used. I mean my my day job is like social media digital strategy and stuff. So like you know i know tactics around there and i used to like a bunch of people on my twitter. This prompt like your pair classic album with a book. Would you pick and i used to do that. All on tinder to my intro question. And so as i was doing research gotta like hundreds of hundreds of different answers in different pairings in each day. I was like you know looking up whether it's doing audio book or spotify listening to the album. So my bio. And it's still my bio i think on clubhouse it was when i first got on read a book and album day so they can actually that question all the time and i don't do it as much so whenever i hesitate. I feel like people thinking about fried. I'll read books action So please spoke of clubhouse Kind of diving club. A little bit How did that come about. How did they did. They approach you. Did you approach them. How did that come about fee. So yes oh you know. I i talked about a talked a bit about the happiness and in college and you know the graduating and you know being on my an adult in the good that came from that in the successes that came from that and you know in how but also how that was paired with like a lot of darkness and depression and an imposter syndrome in and just a bunch of actions that i am one hundred percent proud of actions that i'm hundred proud of So at a certain point. I ended up. It was like you. I gotta leave. Leave l a come back to dc My mom asked me to help take care of my grandma for a So i'm in d. c. And you know. And i'm and i'm trying to do you know be more intentional Artists done the the work stuff. But it's not fulfilling me. I don't feel fulfilled as much you know so you know artists on. I'm doing content. I'm trying to film producing. I'm writing songs. I'm doing it but you know it's not really hitting the way i feel like i should hate or it's not just really hitting so i ended up getting tired and and and disinterested in it so i ended up like getting on twitter and at the time kept seeing this buzzword clubhouse and this is like and this is probably the same story for a lot of people now still every day But yeah this is in july and started seeing clubhouse and i'm a tech At heart solid like invite only the meeting we check it out can get access to it So i ended up ended up signing up for the wait lists and i ended up getting on at that same night and like immediately when i when i got on an app like like it felt like a space that like felt I feel comfortable. You know it's having opportunity to kind of talk and speak with people that networking mixie side of can come out but also like i'm very chill and i don't like being on camera and talk in so i can kinda just sit and listen so it just felt like joe space in i kinda just on board i got to do in the pandemic. Just let me spend some time on here But after a while like the more and more comfortable. I got being on there the more and more comfortable guy like expressing myself truly and entrusting myself really was just like me. Just start playing guitar in the backgrounds of different rooms you know that that grew into these different unique experiences. Talk about a bit more. Yeah man and his crazy ride in few months. That this all culminated in them reaching out to me and like hey would you like to be our app icon. And i was like yeah. Sure know. now we're here. Hey man that's beautiful thing man Says a lot about the talent and the multifaceted unless go back and cities rooms right quick so So let's set the stage ladies and gentlemen this bomani ex and if you ever been in a room which he's hosting you're going to get a slu you get a slow people beating down the doors to get in these rooms. Let me as you question. My brother would is it about. What is it about boo mighty ex that people come in droves news if you had to say as an outsider looking in worcester one commonality about you as driving all of these people to come. Just sit down and be a part of the create. Be part of the creative space. Be a part of the experience who boom is I don't know. I feel like it's it's it it may be. You know still to forgot that answer. I don't get it. You know. I definitely have always been the type to you know. Think creative ideas in trying to be as unique as possible and to create experience. But i think it's i think to be. I think it's like and and we had this conversation early. I think it's like that counterculture that you know it's an app that it's rooted on conversations and i ended up being the only one not speaking for four months. I definitely can can spark up conversations and and and talk and and and be you know a person to Just chill chill combos with but like to be honest like i. I just don't like speaking that much Part of it is a struggle part of Aboard on interested so at the realize like y'all got to speak. I can just play my music and just kinda An my home and my in my bedroom the things that i just always loved back to the story of why picked up the guitar anyway and i could do down the app and people can listen to it without having to see my face or haven't had social anxiety the right type of edit or whatever i think and i think i think people appreciate it that like i just became the space away from the compost and clubhouse became the space where people can actually connect authentically. What people away from from from instagram twitter. Sign and i just. I guess i guess is that counterculture created a chill vibes face. And leon aways sandy. Nice right cotton club on wednesday nights and you gotta ask pimpernel saturday nights so so yes so take how do those Tickets to experience for the audience. Man and motherfucking skyscraper is the headquarters. Where the do nephew bombardier. We got a special guest tonight. Man i don't think we're already from what we got mad. If you want to go ahead and lay love foundation stone down for crew members want to kind of let them in on who got in the motherfucking hilton course. So tonight we have a special says special guests in the building. Tonight we have clubhouse icon. You know what. I'm saying the guitars. The neal's soul artists money ex. Perfect is that is that a probably enough. Your javara music will be a good way to categorized like you know like i. I struggled with with with identifying myself Playing and definitely like some musical influences. I definitely like neil soul aligned with some little A little bit of sprinkle of other stuff. But that's yes. Okay if you don't mind let's let's let's navigate. Their towel crewman was now. Listen no offense to the crew members. But we're going to speak to them. Directly and plainly we have a great audience man and they they've been reached out to us and For us to have this opportunity to have you on and has questions that kind of pick brain a little bit. We wanna first and foremost thank you for allowing us Congress with you but We we kick it with the best of them. We challenge tonight mass or get caught the book. We might be throwing some some some questions as probably off the wall if we have a good time. And we're gonna to ride tonight big bro. So while we getting into it man earlier in pre production You told us that you from queens. Get the money. You will travel so shot out the queen's right now you currently in d. c. So take us back home. Takes back to growing up man. What was your influences growing up in queens To give you the style of possessing the sound that you have as far as your music. Current like backstory on my house told like was raised in like a you know predominantly like nation islam household. Okay my dad's party party nation. My mom like both. My parents always instilled like just a sense of like independence. And you know just making sure you aligned with truth and authentic city and doing things not only for yourself but for a greater purpose for a greater purpose of the community. i Actually went to school in long island and at you know at a certain point Mom always played sports. I've always been into tech science. My dad my dad and my mom definitely drilled the importance of education on me Super heavy. But i've always had like a a somewhat of a an inner creative side like i wasn't necessarily musically inclined or music wasn't like a full focus in like my childhood but I've always been interested in learning new things in picking up new things and my learning curve is always been it's been high And then one day my dad Was kind of like yeah like. He told me a model sister like. Yeah you know you wanna pick up an instrument you know. Try something new and different. And i was like yeah Originally i picked the drums and my little sister picked a guitar. Originally i thought the drums were cooler. You see the uc laying the pocket. That was cool and everybody was a bang drums on a desk in school. Solids like yeah. I want to pick them into drowns but to be honest after a while you know thing about the drums. It kind of takes a certain household to be prepared for that. Yeah a kid who's trash only hours tonight is is not an enjoyable experience and so at some point. I decided like taking my my little sister's guitar and like taking it tomorrow and just like chilling on the couch playing watching. Tv playing games plan guitar. And you know. And i think in hindsight that you know that kinda was always my five you know on some like chill like being able to do things. Whenever i want in a position that makes me inherently feel comfortable and retired is kind of been like an outlet for that. You know so i was just playing it You know i really enjoyed it. ended up breaking her guitar. So she got pissed and breaking into. My dad was like i got to replace it and at that point i was like no. This is my instrument. You know this is a. This is what i wanna do. You know not knowing in the future that it will play such a major aspect of my life but you know something just just to do just to relax I got real like intensive interested in it. When a i remember it was it was. It was his white boy at a. m. on school and there was a guitar club and do as like really cold A narconon got like not jealous. But you know that sense of competition like like drive down in like i remember like in that like mom. I was really grind out here. Like i really wanted to grind out reading. I really wanted to showcase. I wanted to get that so low in in the club showed i can that i can. I can do something as well. You know i could be someone of notice or to be put on notice and yet. That's the the weird origin story almost playing a little bit in high school in kind of things kinda just took off way more authentically incredibly like when i got to college. And that's so it's kind of are you self taught. Are you saying more self. Talk for a tar skills that who train a if you had one at all around the time. When ronnie time. When i was playing drums. I did take drum. Lessons started taking a little bit of guitar lessons on at local music store. But once i got introduced to like you to the magic of learning things on the internet Yeah kind of like self taught in that way so the internet is my teacher. Okay you telling me that Early in life that you raised in a predominantly nation of islam style house. Now let me ask you a question with the name bomani x. more derived as five percent from clarence. Thirteen next komo. Am i wrong going in that direction. It's definitely is not one hundred percent intentional. And i think like you know it's funny how things play out with like it definitely is an almost like to really be honest like honestly i i started saying bomani ex just because like i just at a certain point. Dan type in buffalo last name on forms. Because like not not. Because i don't like my last name but it's just it's just long and and but it is weird. How it's like to just you know some principles that i was raised in my dad is my dad is solid dean seven x and just like what the x represents you know in the principles of like reclaim your identity. Reclaiming your your your history and.
Manny Ramirez Blown Off By Boston Red Sox 'Fan' In Australia

I'm a little too well prepared to just be stuck inside. For All at I actually wouldn't happen. New York is bad as it was in terms of like the you know the Kobe rates weren't stuff like that as far as the place to be in that circumstance, it wasn't so bad like once you realize okay I can't get all the subway. Well, just about everything you ever needed in this city is within a block or two you know so like is built for you to walk around. So I Didn't find myself losing it. In that way you know you only got I've only got like two people three that I've seen at all really in the course of time like that part's been a little bit difficult but you know then everything else is kind of happen and it's not the happiest time in the world. But at least the Kinda work I do and stuff like that has been kind of invigorating. Some things done a lot of important interesting things. talk about I mean we might be where we offer another year. That's the thing that gets me is there is no end in sight. Yano spinning that sports, you know this whole thing sports basically shutdown. Over one positive test would go there. Right. So the NBA calls. All leads follow all the world follows Adam. Silver was Kinda president for that week. You know Kinda let it off..
Source: Seahawks CB cut after hotel guest sneak
"Tom Powell Sarah the NFL network just tweeted this that the seahawks cut rookie cornerback chemists sovereign this week. After he was caught on video trying to seek a female visitor into the team hotel per team espn is not reporting this. This is Tom Pal Cerro of the NFL network but a clear message said, and he followed that up saying the woman was wearing seahawks gear in an attempt to skies as a player he is told did not work. So we'll wait and see if that ends up being true but even if it's not my God, what an unbelievably rookie thing to try and do if there is one word we've been talking about show that Manson grace. He put the effort in he with the effort into trying to get her disguised this. Like believed this thing that we're worried about in all of this like well, we're going to laugh at this like this is the kind of thing that torpedoes everyone's efforts. In all of this we're joking about it, but the real aspect is it's the rookie. Younger. And hopefully. The will hold. Hold him accountable especially because if you want a successful season you have and we have to say his name in the public unfortunately because that's what made the NBA players I believe stay on point after seeing what happened to. Lou will so yeah no that the public accountability and it's almost public shaming of it. We talked so much in the NBA they had that chatter line everyone called snitch line, but. Sometimes calling people out like that in the midst of the bubbles the difficult thing but you want to do what's right in terms of health and safety on this absolutely wants you and I think it's no joke when it comes down to it, we understand that everyone has needs and this is why we're joking about the guest list and who's who gets in WHO's not. But the reality is that we've got to play it safe, and if you want to be successful in order to play, don't risk your self or others and don't try to play it. Cool by dressing her up and your team's apparel just to get around come on come on.

Coronavirus and golf: How the professional tours are affected
"Let me ask you this about the tour and like all this stuff is going because you talked about the guys being on the golf course and. I really don't blame these news. We try to play golf because if they look if I stay away from people doing nothing else then I might as well get at here but like how do you think the tour is going to be affected by all of this there are affected a bunch of one? They still haven't even postponed or canceled events. That scheduled may twenty first the ink at colonial. And you know one of the events that that they're talking about trying to move since they moved. Somebody majors the US Open now where it got moved. Its date is open. So Jack Nicklaus tournament the memorial wants to move out of its slot into where the US Open was but it's still scheduled to go on in. That's the last week of. May which doesn't seem possible to that's going to happen. They hope and help or like the idea that the US Open is saying. Now we're not going to be here. Is somebody else's like that all right? Yeah or tournament like the open championship which isn't scheduled till July is like we out all next year in. May there like an eighty news like Nah. And that's the thing Bo you know man. I'm I'm optimistic. I try to see the silver lining. I tried to look at the good in everything but realistically to think we're going to be playing in June is just it. I don't see it happening. I just don't see us being ready to play golf in six weeks when there are still places that are on complete lockdown. I don't understand how they think that they're going to pull this off now even in my opinion first week of August which is when the PGA championship is supposed to happen. Even that seems to me as a more hopeful than realistic thing. Not only because we don't know where we be as a country as far as where this pandemic virus is by then. We have no idea whether it is going to be a phase two or phase three and the fact that the PGA championship is still scheduled to be held in San Francisco. Yes I if xactly Gulf has never been the first to do anything so to think that golf would be the first sport to come back. Golf is a sport that is more image conscious than the NFL. That I know that sounds crazy but think about this. You are not going to hear the golf as Elliot Nothing. Have you ever heard of a Golfer have you heard of a Golfer getting a DUI other than Tiger Woods? 'cause it was tiger so he's bigger than just the Gulf News but have you ever heard of a PGA tour pro given the Dui. Like you think it ain't happened right exe- so the thought of Gov being the Guinea pig like man. We'll bring all our guys back. Because you know golf will be the easiest thing for social distancing. Yes inside the ropes. It's easy for social distancing Hauer player's GonNa get tournament how litter power. They literally getting from the airplane to hotel. Where we're staying. Where are they going to empty? Who who changing the sheets right and then when you get to the gut like getting a rental car you can rent a car from somebody. I'll be working rental counter and then when you get to the golf course you just pulling out in the Congo and straight to the driving rains. You're going into the locker room who's WHO's opening locker room door. Who's working in you? Go to the bathroom cleaning up. Who changed sort of paper or you won't eat. Who's WHO's GonNa Food? Who's bring the food who stole in the trash out like? Who's doing the dishes like those? And that's not you ain't got to the courts yet now. You get course okay. We're GONNA put this on TV. Well who's filming? You've got to have a camera do. Okay Yeah we got a camera guy but the camera guys not the producer. Oh Yeah. Where's the camera picture on bow to? We need court to go to the trump who's trump who drove the trump who's producer who's directed where those people at Lake everything that goes into a production of a golf broadcast. Ken Be even bigger than Football Basketball Baseball and hockey. Because at least those venues are all a one static place so you could put cameras up in a stadium and field ain't GonNa Change. It doesn't work like that with golf when one week. The golf course looks like this in the next week is completely different. Everything gotta move is a traveling circus so to think that golf would be the one to go. Hey we'll come out. I will do a I. The Gulf was the second to last the shut it down. It was golfing NASCAR so in the long run when Gov comes back there I think of is gonNA come back without fans like I think every other sport will at first and I think golf will do okay in the long run. But I think we're GonNa wait longer than what we think for golf to come back. But and here's my silver lining. This is also where I love. What the Masters did where the Masters said we're coming back in November. The masters is the last thing on the schedule. Movember Ninety two fifteen and again talk about buffer nate. Just out not only did they come back. And we're GONNA do this in November. They also have already said. If you've got a ticket Komo come on in you know other sport has been no other waning. Tried to say only Augusta will be like not only. Are we putting the masses on? We're letting the Patriots into but we won't make that Egg Salad. We're going to make those divisional tea. Sandwiches come gifts on and I think November. Not only is realistic. But I love that. The masters is at least for me. The biggest beacon at the end of this dark tunnel. I tell you this though. Y'All come back I ain't GonNa meet you there right like they say like they just go be somebody out there. That's like now I'm good is somebody's wife. That's like yo you ain't going out on this trip like his eight nine. This ain't the Olympics though. That's what's funny. I remember when Owen down for the Olympics. Zeka you know guys were like I know plenty of dudes whose girlfriends and wives would like if you go. Don't come on you know. He you know he might put us in. The spot and jazz were like. I'm not even going to go I. I'm any worth you know. I'M I won't be happy home really but the masters though let's say right now there's plenty of dudes if that came down at the masters they are going to be like. Yo suitcases right over. She she she she. She want me to call Uber. Or because I'm going to the mass you don't WanNa go. You Ain't gotta go but one of us is going well. That tate is last thing I would ask you because I just thought of this while we were here. Are these golfers paying their caddies out like how I still pay my housekeeper? Even though she's not keeping the House I got the same thing Nancy so most golfers yes are trying to take care of their caddies in some way or form. We have to remember how cat is get paid. Caddies get a weekly paycheck and then you get a percentage of what the Golfer wins. But if the government's not winning anything where it becomes difficult is for. We all know the big super rich dude by all the big name guys like rory no Tiger Dustin Johnson of Brooks Kapka you name it Jordan Speed Rickie Fowler just Thomas Jon Rahm like those dudes of yes. They're going to be taken care of their dude with the guys who have a tough time on rookies. So the guys who came from the korn-ferry tour or the guys that this is only their second or third year on the PGA tour and they made them millions like those they could be struggling a little bit to one of the guys who I'm friends with a WHO's academy and doesn't caddy for a big named guys told me that his guy is sending them a little bit just a little bit every week just to help everybody still got bills and whatnot. So I'm sure that there are some guys that are not in a position to do that so there are probably some caddies that are hurt. But that's the world we live in right now so everybody's anxious to kind of get back to work pay

Can A 100-Year-Old Treatment Help Save Us From Superbugs?
"For months Stephanie's avenues husband. Tom Would remain hospitalized fighting for his life and losing. And you know I punched in words like multi-drug resistance and the name of his superbug which is assassinated Bomani and popped within an hour. I found a paper that mentioned something called page therapy. So tell me a little bit about fish therapy well. phages are short for bacteria age and that is derived from the Greek word meaning bacteria eater and they are viruses that have naturally evolved to attack bacteria. Correa there's ten million trillion trillion pages on the planet. It's all a matter of finding the ones that will kill the bacteria that you want to get rid of. Okay real quick phase one. "Bomani Jones will disagree with STAN Van Gundy about the greatness of the movie hoosiers. But before we do that we do this every week during the basketball season. Stan Van Gundy, welcome back came Knicks. We've missed you STAN Van Gundy is going to give you his hot basketball nuggets in your face. And now time to stay van Gundy's, top NBA nuggets, owning Durst show. The thing. There are a theme this week stand just the NBA finals, Dan. All right. I mean he's used up most of his good stuff today on the show, he's come with fire again. And again, so, honestly, what is he going to say it's actually about the Memphis grizzlies. So the number three best nugget of the week, according to STAN Van Gundy is if Toronto can win tonight. They will become the first team to win three road games in the final since the Lakers in two thousand and one but with both teams already having one to away games in the series. We are assured that we will have only the third team in fifty years to win two road games but still lose the finals the last being Phoenix twenty six years ago man. Good nugget, and dropping bombs third-best one. All right. The second best nugget is the magnitude of Golden State's loss of Kevin Durant cannot be overstated to rant is one of only four players to have averaged over thirty points per game in his NBA finals career playing. Over ten games, and he has been by far the most efficient of the great scorers. The gold standard for shooting his fifty forty nine hundred fifty percent from the floor forty percent from three and ninety percent from the free throw line team in the final. Hey d- has shot fifty five forty five and ninety one..

So we live in LaGuardia, and we sit in the car and while we're they while we're in, you know, no indication of anything at do send on his Twitter. I read it. I was just like let me see what happens here. And I searched for Bomani, Bomani Jones has got in my car. You know, and this is not normally a concern for me in New York City, because most of the drivers, I'm not positive. They was that much English language television. You know, it doesn't then I'll think about Miami, Uber driver. Never knew who I was watching on channel that just wasn't what it was. Yeah. But man, that's a that's an I'm the present thing that you got got not let people know what you do in up all the time. And so imagine if he said, just dropped the money jumps off at LaGuardia. Yes. Now, everybody knows you leaving case United your home. I'm kind of thinking that further, but it is true like now you're not at home. What if someone wants to rob you like I'm always thinking about getting robbed is being from Georgia? Now, you know, I'm not there and you can get in home invasion. Gauge strong really is. So I just I wish people were a little more time than of different things like that. But I think we're all getting better thinking about the Atlanta home invasion. Thanks, that is that is because my parents house around airmen he was playing home invasion game some fear. Around here, we originally Kwan on highly questionable and he was talking about how they used to pull those kick doors and house kinda listened house like real close to home, like whoa, whoa. I got real worried about Paris. I'm like, hey, man's house this way in now granted lemme just say before you come from me. I'm from the suburbs. From one that I'm not from these city of Atlanta. Twenty minutes out don't play me. But the thing about down there. It's not even the harbors. It's like this, scammers like people just always trying to finesse it. You know, so you just want to say the least amount of information at all times. So just be aware of that when you when you. See I lived in Miami. And that's the scammer game is whole next level because at least there's ways for you to make some money in it in Atlanta in a legal fashion. Miami does not provide Miami, a lot of ways you to spend your money. It does not have a lot of ways for you to make no money. I've never been to Miami. I, I've never been there until I moved. There you told me that I never been there till the movie I had one trip that I went down right before I moved there. And then a month later that was the first time I've been to Miami like, and then I get there. And I'm like, oh, this is I am in another country. Yeah. "Hey, this is Bomani. You have reached the voice mail say whatever you want. Get creative with it. But this is your place to talk back to show its top back base. So you were flying home, you put out a question asking for people who had wanted to share their stories of the worst airline experience that they've ever had. We got some interesting responses are first from Ritchie North Carolina. This is from, and I gotta airline story this story about nothing on a plane on a plane, but where we'll get into. So this is back in twenty sixteen. I was working in. Cleveland is the time and I was trying to visit my sister in Boston for July fourth. So what I usually do free airport parking by going to airport. Mary outside of Cleveland airport parking back, and then I'd like, we talked to just ladies ten, though, staying there, whatever so I could get a token city. Great. And I didn't have to pay when I did that. So do all that. I go straight to the airports after work, and he's getting away. Wait. It's like ours. And this point, it's like to end in the morning and get candy so this airline the next morning and they don't get room. Nothing like that. So I'm like, all right. Just gonna go home sleep. Come back show I the last shuttle. And I'm getting into my car when they call me and say that they just rebut me for like a few hours later the play taking off. I don't want to go back home. And I'm definitely not trying to pay for a room at this. So I'm still sleeping in my car in the hotel parking lot, just hoping security doesn't Jomar window with. That's a whole another situation. So finally next morning. I get back to the airport. My he's gonna be routed and canned food on the no hair. It's only through Houston, whatever. So, by the time I gets my sister's place. It's been twenty four hours since I like my -partment, and that's when four hours, was my birthday. So that's the story how twenty and now sampled over July fourth. That's a really bad break feel like for his many airplane stories that are horror stories. It's also the trip to the airport and being at the airport in dealing with anything related to airlines, I'm good with anything but being stuck on the runway. That's the one. Oh on the plane. But not ooh. That's the one sit there for too long starts smelling everybody on the all. Yeah. Like if you've ever been stuck on the way for, like three hours on the ground. It's the most frustrating thing into words like, yeah, we right here, you let us off on an airplane, a few years, back with that type of situation where literally sitting there on the tarmac. And then eventually they decided that it was too dangerous to fly out. And they're like, all right. We're gonna have to stay here tonight. Everybody's getting their vouchers to a hotel next the airport, you're gonna have to stay the night now is not happening to me. Tell you what I'm not about at this stage of my somewhat bourgeois life, the hotel. How about you put the not a pleasant experience. Our next.
NBA draft: Zion Williamson in high demand
"Zion Williamson, because with all due respect to the delirious, pelicans or pal. Brian winners note, something interesting. They're saying to your heads, and get declared for the draft or signed a shoe deal wore hired agents, and knows I on probably won't return to Duke, and yes, Wiley has options abroad. His stepdad today suggests where a big mile death of Adam silver on graph dice. But Bomani, I want to conduct a thought experiment here for our own amusement. If you were advising Zion Williamson, what would you be telling? This is a very interesting question the first thing I'm telling him as hell. No, you're not going back to under. No, sir. As the what they, we not about to be out here doing anything for free, you know, like that can't be it is doing free. Now does he have a problem with goal with New Orleans? I don't know if that is actually true, if he has a real deal problem with going there. You just need to ask yourself. If you're Zion Williamson, are you willing to deal with the blowback that will come for trying to force yourself all to another team? But you can't really do that. And you can't do that, because if you get drafted they've got your rights from here on out, if you withdraw from the draft, maybe you could go back next year. Now this young man got a spirit for adventure. Gotta taste go. Check something else out. What about China? Not. No, no, no, no. Let's say let's imagine for a second that he does not want to go to somebody in China be willing to pay him. What kind of numbers were you see guys put up regularly numbers like sixty and twenty in those games? What kind of numbers we put over there? What kind of branding would he be able to pull up if he wanted to make the big money score? Go to China, I just by self nineteen would not be ready to Bhutto damn shot. But I am here to help convince Zayn Williamson that joining the diaster actually really good idea blow joining it. He's just going to work there, man diaster adjacent. But here's the thing about what Zion can do in China in Asia with that market. He can actually treat the world, which has at its fingertips at his fingertips like the global economy, sees the world. It's that Facebook thing you know what's cool of billion dollars, you know, what's cool of billion people, which is what? China offers. When you pose these hypotheticals about how much money, is it crazy to suggest that he would get nine figures to do some things in China? Maybe that's a marketing, plus a salary deal with keep in mind. What China did for Stefan, marberry? They gave him an acting award for playing himself in a movie about himself. They love basketball. They would love him. Also, by the way, Duke has been long trying to establish his presence in China's. That's the new gang lead university, so they would have a vested interest in this. No, this could work except for this whole. You gotta move to China thing, right? Things like this come up and people like me, always give right, ideas about, why don't you just go live in another country like any of us trying to go pack up and live in another country on a whim, though, any of us were prepared for at that point a lot? But that is the option if you want to have something that goes stronger that is what you do thing is even if you do that it was draft, you you're coming back wall. But I want to know is why has he not signed with Asia yet, because I don't. Think for a second that he wants to go back to school. There's no gain that you have at this point from not having an agent. That'll see what the problem is. Yeah. The only real upside to not having one is that you get to have leverage over employers. But if you're not gonna use it to go to China. What are you really using it

Jimmy Butler, Ben Simmons And Sixers discussed on The Right Time with Bomani Jones
"What I think is ultimately go happen with basketball stuff as it goes for the sixes. They're going to have to start Jimmy Butler, obviously. And so you're gonna have been Simmons and Jimmy Butler on the floor. And then you're gonna wind up having Embiid on the floor. Hey, Gabe idea who plays power for for the Sixers. I feel like they used to be sorry is now I don't know. It's going to be an interesting lineup. That's for sure. Just really sitting here. Like, wow, you're straight it. They put the home chicken Scott out there is he going to be playing going to be playing power forward. Well, I mean, so the coach was like all right now, we don't know who butlers gonna take their spot in the starting lineup. But wasn't Covington starting covered them starting and was a SARS starting. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, like who's the other guy I'll be curious to see that. But here's my thing. How long are we gonna keep Mario fills out here, man? Oh boy. I mean, we have to talk about this. I'm not sure how much longer he's going to be on the team, obviously. But did you see that last night Foltz parted ways with his shooting? Longer on speaking terms, especially after that hitch. Did you see the hitch in his free throw? Oh my God. And then after the fact he's Lea yeah. Yeah. It slipped. Manifield Pavitt do man by seems to be a nice enough kid. And by the way, I believe Jimmy Butler is gonna walk in here. Put his arm around young, man. He's going to tell him that we're gonna get you better. They Jimmy knows that there's imagery have that has to be done. Right. Like, he can't come here, neck, total fool. So like, I do believe that with folks. But but my my I looked it up. His office of rating is a ninety three his defensive rating as one oh three like he is actively hurting the team by being on the floor. Ben Simmons, by the way. I don't know if you saw this on off numbers the other day, they are a much better. Offense of team this year in Philadelphia had been off the floor with him on the floor. Really? Yeah. Like that is that's a level of this that when everybody's talking about false that I kind of feel like seven has been able to skate onto. Degree which I mean, I can only assume is tied to the you know, people watched in the playoffs. Right.

Why the Elon Musk SEC Settlement Is Critical for Electric Cars
"Hi, this is David gave us with the New York Times, so it looks like Elon Musk has put his troubles behind him, at least for the time being on Saturday. He settled with the securities and Exchange Commission which had just sued him under the terms of the deal. Musk, agreed to step down as the chairman of tesla and pay a fine. The settlement stems from a tweet that musk sent on August seventh. When he said he was considering taking tesla, the electric car company, he runs private that tweet sent Tesla's stock soaring Kat Musk's board off guard and drew an inquiry from securities regulators. Then last week, musk in the SEC were close to a settlement.
