What's so fascinating skeletal. Muscle is actually an endocrine organ. I must say skeletal. Muscle is an organ. It secretes proteins. It secretes chemicals. It secretes maiocco maiocco signs when you contract your skeletal muscle throughout the body to have anti inflammatory effects. They affect the brain. They affect the bone. So it's not just the actual load-bearing that is positive for bone. It's actually the maiocco that are created by skeletal muscle. Mind-blowing have that's a cool. So i think evolving the conversation is absolutely essential and yet we still see so many people out there in these highly cata bolic's situations where they're getting calories and they're doing a ton of cardio and just not checking that box of doing any sort of strength or resistance training. How can we make that better. I think it really understanding that it's habit that that humans are deeply predictable and their habit driven. It's very easy to go and do some cardio right you like zone out. Put on your for whatever you're listening to and it doesn't evolved no and it doesn't require the discomfort of learning a new skill if we understand that human beings deeply predictable and we understand that you have to go through that initial resistance no pun intended but that initial discomfort of starting something new then i think if we can augment people's willpower and understand that there are pitfalls in doing the same thing that is comfortable then we can really begin to change and i think that revolves around a conversation that revolves around really rethinking our perspective of the easy..

"Here's the editor of lens. Work publishing brooks jackson one of personal pet peeves is art speak. I've never understood why artists feel it so necessary to use incredibly convoluted language in order to express themselves particularly about their artwork. I don't know if it makes them feel intellectual or if it makes them feel like they're giving meaning to artwork that is meaningless. It's a curiosity. I'm curious as to why particularly mfa graduates are so caught up in the whole art. Speak thing this all comes to mind. Because i just spent last week some time doing some reviews and reading a about two hundred or so artists introductions to their work came across art. Speak that just had me bleary eyed and left me wondering what they thought. They were accomplishing by using such incredibly convoluted language. Maybe it makes them part of a club. Maybe it expresses something that communicates subtext to others. That somehow is a positive thing in their relationships with other artists or critics or some. I don't know what it doesn't do. However is communicated all to the rest of us who are just normal folks and as matter of fact will serve a certain purpose to break a connection that we might have with the images if we were just left to see the images by themselves. And if you're not sure because you've never run into art speak before there's a a really terrific spoof site called artie. Bolic's dot com a rt y. b. o. l. l. o. c. k. 's artie bolic's dot com. That will provide for you art. Speak text that you can use in your artist's statement. And i just want to read one just because it's so fun and i'm not kidding. This is pretty close to about three quarters or more of the artists statements. I read during this review is doing.

Probably threatened to but trying to thread the needle here and get the two factions of her party together to try to advance the two. Big pieces of biden's agenda the the infrastructure bill and the reconciliation bill. And you know it is as we speak. I mean i guess. They're intimations josh goth heimer. Who's the leader of this moderate group that is rebelling against the reconciliation bill Or at least moving together with the infrastructure booth said. We're close to a deal and so on but it just speaks to. How if i were. I'd want to get the hell out of there. I mean it's just so hard with three vote majority and you know you just get extorted at every at every turn. I assume you guys that she's going to get this done. 'cause she's good at it but she's struggling more than i've seen her have to struggle in a really long time To try and keep this thing together and you know the thing. I don't understand is if i'm a democratic legislator now maybe gotham who comes from a wealthy new jersey suburb To be seen in this light but if these bills were actually go down. That's a disaster for democrats. That's a disaster for biden. You ought to go into the midterm empty-handed and say we had a chance to do something about infrastructure. We had a chance to do something about child Child care we. And but i i didn't liked the sequencing so So we just killed the whole thing seems insane to me yet it is. I mean i. It's your party is your party and maybe not quite yet mine at a little faster coming over. If i didn't see the up close and with a more sympathetic than i used to and thinking. Geez what is going on there. I think it's not too. I mean it's perfectly reasonable to say when we get to reconciliation. I'm going to be a much narrower. Reconciliation bill than the biden administration suggests that it gets too much money. That's kind of the mansion position but to actually threatened to bring down the rule into totally bolic's up the house. Deliver a defeat to biden pelosi outta sequencing question which the weather. She was wiser not to go with the sequencing. The first place she's speaker she's they've decided to do it biden's behind her so there's a certain maybe you're not aware of this. The democrats. Did you have a slight tendency to manage to turn what looks like a pretty good situation. I mean they get this infrastructure. They get nineteen republican votes including mitch mcconnell for infrastructure bill in the senate which is a pretty big government bill that they should like wanna run on and they've now totally overtaken that story with squabbling in the house over the sequencing of infrastructure and reconciliation. It's it's an. It's an accomplishment by the democrats. You gotta say you know. We should warn you that We've never describe yourselves as an organized. political party. I don't know exactly what you're whether earl tribe is an example of coherence and either but no. Yeah i mean. I think what it reflects. Is that the progressives of which there are more At least more who are willing to say we'll tank the thing. They are mistrustful of mansion of cinema. And so on. And everybody is leveraging to try and get as much into this this reconciliation bill. So we'll see. I mean i still continue to believe this will get done. I cannot imagine they are going to let it not get done and annual. But it'll be fun to watch pelosi navigate this because she's better than anybody at it and you simple. I don't know why should the sequencing thing she does what she needs to do to try and get things done. This wasn't an ideological position. I think she made the judgment whether it was you know. Maybe she could've site differently. I have no idea. But no i think she knows what she's doing it at some point. If you're i mean josh got heimer. I'm i know a bit and I don't know quite what he's up to honestly but you cannot. I mean the party as a whole you guys went through this. No nine ten. I mean and clinton people went through it ninety two ninety four. You need to win on your big issues when you take over when you win the presidency from the other party and when congress both houses of congress one of them at least from the other party and you happened in this case to have particularly narrow margins you gotta win on your biggest priorities of the party has to understand on this that they rise or fall together and no one's going to john is not gonna win in new jersey if the whole biden administrations in shambles and the party. Looks like it's disarray. They didn't get stuff through. I think so. He can make his little point here. Tell people in northern jersey that he's fighting hard for the salt deduction for the extremely wealthy people. He has in this district but he at some point he has to make sure they have to make sure that they that they succeed in general as a party in governing the country and i totally agree with what are they going to be said before too. It's important that biden succeed. I mean it's important for the country that the by administration be a successful administration or i wonder whether there's some point and it may be right now as we speak and he's looking a pelosi in the i Whether got heimer says holy shit. I'm out here on this high wire. And i better figure out a way to get get down from here. 'cause it's a long way down. Well i think that's what i mean. You know by all accounts that the the real discussion between pelosi in the these now. Tout's moderates didn't really begin until yesterday. Because i think she thought they'd realize they were marching themselves into a corner in which they were not likely to get any real tangible benefit from into to to the point that all of you have made and she made in the caucus it is mutually assured destruction to not get this done And to bills point you just got amherst not gonna win because everything is in flames but somehow he got a tax deduction for state and local..

That'll be fun but it is what it is a and isn't worth it to take that chance of him getting hurt in the first preseason game you know i'll ca johnny carter and who was never seen or read them. Let them play. I'm put in for one season or world series. I'm okay if they don't start him until the season starts. I'm okay with that too. Yep well it's just a little quick a little quick deviation we're talking mostly joe borough here for the time being but we did mention his name chase in case you are a madden football footballer. I find very little time to get any kind of in anymore But basically here. This is from james routine of all bangles. Jomar chase is not the top rated receiver though. He was the first receiver drafted. He is not the top receiver in the game. He has seventy five overall in dolphins wide. Receiver jalen waddell selected just after Jomar chase he has the higher He has a little bit of a higher rating in madden twenty. Two slightly above Is seventy five overall kyle. Pits is the most is the highest rated madden guy of the rookie class at eighty one. Trevor lawrence seventy eight and then waddled just above marchese seventy six so i don i mean i honestly madden is was a little bit. After my time. I mean i was in high school. I'll show my h. Here's a. I've never really bad. My son is not very good at it. But i'll take it this way. Maybe has motivation like all right. I'm not the best. okay. I'll show you and any motivation. These guys can get. I'm i'm all for it. I'm with you and this team seems to have Seems to like that chip that resides on somebody's of these players shoulders even even if they are drafted number one overall number five overall They seem to still have this chip that resides on their shoulders. Maybe this is fuel to that fire. I don't know this was a big one. Go ahead as the bengals fans i feel. I have that chip on my shoulder. Bagel fan is doing bengals youtube. This one was This one was really interesting to me by the way this this camp was just a little bit of odd way. This where this is being held were jordan palmer has traditionally held. This camp is actually right down the way from where i live. Which is kinda neat But jordan palmer. We've talked about you know joe boroughs arm strike last year. Was the big point of contention in the draft. Right is the deal. He has all the intangibles. He's a winner. He has stats but the arm and the zip on the ball a little less than desirable for some pundits tastes vac now this year. A lot of people are saying there's more zip on the ball. Deep bolic's better all these things that he has seemingly worked on a lot of attributed to different workout regimen hitting the weight room a little bit more something a little more than that jeff jordan palmer of all of all the people jordan palmer health job bureau. "They can mind over matter. They're like even though i'm tired. I'm still going to accomplish these all these things but the body says don't do it. Don't do it because you are pushing pushing. She like a hamster on a wheel and we need to turn off the hamster wheel so in my case i had been pushing for close to a year. And when i did my test it turns out. My body was deactivating. It was basically telling me to slow down and go back to the reserves. And so you're right. There are supplements that can reactivate but by reactivating. What i've solved any of my problems. No because if i was still a hamster on the wheel and you're just like it it's the equivalent of like just. I've seen a hamster and pumping him through fully caffeine or cocaine or like quarters like just straight cr- stimulants eventually the hamsters going completely completely burnt out fall off the wheel. So it's the same if you're just taking supplements to reactivate yourself but you continue to do the things that are burning you out in the first place you continue to push and push and push then you have a problem so when i saw it on paper i knew what i was doing. Of course. i'm intelligent. But when i saw it on paper i was like. Oh okay. I guess i'll slow down. I guess i'll listen. I'll guess i'll stop being the hamster on the wheel and take care myself supplements help. I'm not saying. Don't you supplements they absolutely help but again the supplements are only as good as our your habits so if you are hamster on a wheel and you won't stop the supplements aren't gonna save you. Yeah no i think. There's an art to interpreting. Attest on what it's actually telling you and asking the carey or the person what's going on. And in your case you really were not listening to your body your body was deactivating the cortisol but your brain was powering through and wanting to continue to do things and you needed the ability to look at that and say okay. I need to if my cells at the cellular level. No that it's too cata bolic into too much impact on me than i gotta listen to my body. So that's a great great marker on their the the other thing. I would say on that as well though. Is that the art of interpreting. The test means well. We could give licorice root to decrease that half life or increase the half light little still got excited with increasing. Now eight increasing half-lives here. That was exciting. So as far as when may i ask from a clinical perspective. When would you tell the body that maybe not so much. It's inappropriate but we want to give you a little more hoops out of the half life so it doesn't deactivate or is that even a thing carry that people would want to modulate that short term. At least for any you know what i mean. Definitely.

"And where did they really can't? I think they have told us Do. Tobin has told us we're not getting out of the premier player business. Here like this draft like I think everybody kind of is an agreement that there's three of them that our quarterback. I mean, there's there's these three guys that we've been talking about it after that. You know, there's a step down the man teams would have different things different days by. I think that's what it is. So if you're looking at, I don't see a trade back happening just because I don't know that I don't see a scenario where they take them out. That range for one of those three guys, So it's four quarterbacks go in front of them, and they have the pick. You know, you could be willing to go back as far as what? Seven and then you're just you're not even getting the one that you specifically one by may be happy with any of those three. But I don't know that anybody is gonna wanna Give up much and you're talking about a very small moves. It's just seems very unlikely. At this point. When you consider the way everything has broken down that they end up in a trade back. So now I think they were open to it at one point Like as they should be, But I don't. I just don't think realistically it's gonna work for what they want. This drafted you for them. I could look at it two ways. One is I could make a case for if you have your franchise quarterback, which we do. Maybe you could make a case for going back and just keep trading back and get his many pixels K as you can and get a lot of, but the other side is we're picking fifth. Overall, The quality is going to be the top of the top. And you hope God willing, will never be picking number five. For a long time. So if we're here, and we've got to be here, let's make it count right. This league is a league of stars as much as we make it about team and we make it about. You know the guys. The blue chip players are the ones that rise up in the big moments right in the ones that Have not had the guys that have risen up in the big moment for this team when they work good and has been a big reason why they haven't won enough games is we've looked around at this team and this roster for years now and said, 0.2 me, the guys that are the top five in their position in this leak. Show me who they are, and you sit and you look around and you really couldn't say much there. You need those guys. You need horses it and you can find those at the top of the draft of Europe there, and that's why the NFL is beautiful that it sets you up to go get some horses That could help carry you to the next level. You got the one last year. You compare one to go with it on offense this year. You You want that, and I think that they need that more than people talk about. We Talk about their roster as a whole, But I always keep going back to where their premier players who are they're great players that you will say can carry them in games. AJ Green did for a decade, right and put down now they have not had that guy so they You need new players like that. And that's part of what this is going to be about tonight. I think all right, We're talking to Paul Dinner, Junior and one final thing. Paul at the end of the day, who did the Bangles pick? I still I've said from over a month Now, all signs pointed your march 8th. If you read the Bangles, actions in free agency and the way things the way they didn't really go after receiver the way they seem very confident about where that position was gonna lie, Despite that gaping hole that they have in the way they've talked and been very Loving of the depth of this offensive line class, which is a great offensive line class. If you're looking for the most value of that's the path that you go down the fact that it was almost 10 years to the day The Bangles had one great player and a J green that they loved in one massive needed quarterback that had to do and they decided to go with the receiver and wait. Go for the need in the second round almost 10 years ago, follow history with the Bangles. There's not a lot of things always change there. So that's what I think you could be. Oh, right, Bolic sound great. You guys on that boat to talk to you. Soon enough. There's Paul dinner Junior from.

"The best of the Mike Broom head show west of the Mike Broom Head show Key to our news 92 3 FM. Another big topic that's been on everyone's mind who's been elections. Arizona, right in the center of questions about the veracity of the election, the governor certified the election people in the Republican Party upset with him for doing that. Big dissension within the Republican Party and how quickly it was certified that it shouldn't have been. The governor followed the law. He's certified the election. That's what the law said. We had a conversation regarding this earlier with the secretary of state, Katie Hobbs. She joins us again. The fight continues in the Legislature with legislation trying to clarify and make sure that people trust the elections. You've come out pretty strongly against some of these measures. Can you kind of clear, clarify for me what Your issue is with some of the things that are being done. Well, look, I think that we do need to have a conversation about you know, we're storing some of the lost confidence in our systems. But But that conversation is the focus about the reasons that was lost, And I think that What you've seen over the last few months is many of these very same legislators. Ah, screaming about, um, non existent fraud that didn't occur and kind of using that now as an excuse to really roll back a lot of progress that we've made in terms of our elections and and how voters and Arizona can vote and we shouldn't. If there we should really be looking at what are the root cause is that voters might have lost confidence in the system. And it's not because the systems we haven't Place are not good enough to ensure the accuracy and fairness and security of our elections. But now you were you were and I came out very strongly when this happened. You were the victim of extremist threats when people came after you and made threats, I was one of the first people although you and I disagree on some things politically, threats against someone who's never is never okay. Aren't you concerned with some of the things that you said is feeding the extremism on the other side? Well, you know, because I don't think that Shauna Bolic And her bill is trying to reverse the will of the people. I think what she's trying to do is give legislative power if they believe something was wrong to have a voice in it, but I don't think she's trying to reverse the will of the people. Well, First of all, thank you for speaking out against the attacks on me and my family in my office. I appreciate that. Second of all, I don't think anything I'm saying is what's feeding extremism? It's Thies legislators have led the charge on some of them in terms of feeding the fire over these faults, Conspiracy theories about the election being stolen and Sean Obelix Bill, Um 100% allows the Legislature with under any circumstances, regardless of any Substantiated fraud or not, regardless of any court cases that were, um, that were played out or thrown out or whatever, because there was lack of evidence. Any circumstances they can convene with a majority vote and choose new electors. That isn't overturning of the will of the voters. See when I'm ready. I've got the bill in front of me. What they're saying is and I don't wanna get stuck just on this one bill, But what they're talking about is being able to if they believe we're in the case here with the governor had absolutely no choice. But to certify the election, and I believe you. I think he did the right thing. I I agree with you, but what they're saying is there is a mechanism they want to put in place where they can reverse that for further investigation. They're not saying they could have taken the electors and given them to Donald Trump. I guess you and I are reading the bill differently, because, yeah. Back. So I guess that the reason why I'm having this conversation about this specifically, is four years ago, The Democrats said that the election was stolen. Many of the members of Congress didn't show up to the Trump inauguration because they didn't believe that he was rightfully elected President. Georgia had the same problem with their governor's race for the candidate from the Democrats. I'd never conceded So we've seen in a four year period. Two different groups of people on two different sides not trust the election system instead of going after each other as extremists. What are some of the reasonable things that could be done to restore confidence in our election system? Well, I think that we should be having conversations about the post election audit process that we have in place. We've had this 2% hand count audit for quite 2% of the A of the precincts are our hand audited. Um, but you know what if both political parties choose not to participate than that, But it doesn't happen. We should be talking about that. We should be doing this audit, regardless, um, and we should be talking about if the 2% is adequate. Um, And what? What kind of What kind of statistically significant sample would we need to make sure that we're that we're truly capturing what a post election audit should capture. And so my office has introduced legislation that would start this discussion. And I really am looking forward to having meaningful conversations about this kind of thing in terms of election security systems that we already have in place and what we can do to make them better. And I agree with, you know, Maricopa County Specifically, the mail in system in Maricopa County really should be the model around the country and the way they Do it so, But we understand how the national picture and the Arizona picture maybe two different things. So whether it's real or it's perceived. There are people that have doubts and in your position, you have to agree that we want more people voting and they're not going to do that, if they're not confident. Yes, I do Think, though. If you look at this year's are the 2020 election results in terms of turnout, Um voters showed up for our democracy. And that was in the face of not only a global pandemic but wide spread misinformation leading into the election. Election officials were able to overcome that to maintain the trust of the voters, and the voters showed up, um secure that their vote would be counted and that, um, and that they Could do so with without jeopardizing their health and safety. And so I think that I think that that should be the conversation. And that should be. What we're celebrating is that is that we? We pulled this off in terms of a successful election under unprecedented circumstances, and we should be having more conversations about how to replicate that. Even in the next election, when we're hopefully not still in the middle of a pandemic, and I agree with you in his contentious is this election was I still maintain that had gone the other way and Donald Trump won by the margin, we would have seen a lot of. I think we would have seen challenges from the Biden camp. It was just that contentious of an election, so that being said, there's got to be as you said, ways for us to do things now. So in two years, agree or disagree on politics. We can all go to the polls and know that the results are something we all have more confidence in..

"The K t A R news app. Hey, Thanks for being here Appreciate you spending some time with us. Rift within the Republican Party here in Arizona and very quickly what happened because it's so inside baseball, but party elections are different than general elections. Most people understand that, but you do not have a you do not have a say in Republican leadership just because you're a Republican registered Republican voter. You have to be an elected member or an appointed member. Of the Republican Party itself, Precinct committeeman, and then you run for the different offices within the organization. And they have the state meeting where they did their elections here recently, and a couple of things three things in particular made headlines and without going into a lot of detail. One of them was someone that is starting a new party. Came in and got time to speak, and they throw him off stage and threaten to call the police and he had to leave. And so that was an uproar. Then they had their party elections. And they announced the winner of one of the races wrong, which motivated some people to ask for aid and audit of the election itself. And does this sound familiar? They use voting machines this time from hell, a county And so everybody that voted in the party election. Voted on a ballot that went through a machine that they use in in hell, a county And Um, they wanted in on it because they wanted to make sure that it was transparent and everything was fair and the party itself said no. We're not gonna do it on it, which is showing a great amount of hypocrisy. Um, because that's exactly what they've been doing in Maricopa County across the state of Arizona in saying We want transparency, open up the machines. Let us audit the machines. Let us do the software in the hardware. And so we can see that this was a fair election. If there's no fraud show us there's no fraud, which isn't the way the courts work. You don't say. I think my neighbors a drug dealer, go in there and find out And they're going to give you a warrant to search their house to see if there are drug dealer or not. You have to have proof that they're dealing drugs to get a warrant to search. Regardless. So the reason why I bring this up because it looks It looks ridiculous. You've got the Republican Party had some what they believe to be legitimate questions about the vote and the way the votes were cast in America. But county there is a battle going on right now. Between the county Board of Supervisors and Republicans in the Senate here in Arizona. And it's about the integrity of the vote and privacy issues and an audit of the hardware and software and the voting machines in Maricopa County. About transparency in our elections and people having faith in our elections. So the chairwoman, um is, uh, is Dr Kelli Ward, and she refused to allow the audits. So more than a dozen members of the Republican Party and these are elected officials in the state legislator in legislature, including some very conservative members of the state legislature. Have have said, You know, we need this to be transparent. It's and now our collective message is being undermined by your inconsistent that none of these standards should apply to your election is AZ GOP chairman. The lawmakers letter said the inconsistency is simply not acceptable. Without question and election for party chairman pales in comparison to the importance of electing a United States senator or president, United States But the principles that surround every election no matter how big or small, the office must remain the same. We urge you to heed the calls of your voters and allow for immediate audit of the election that was held January 23rd. Now, this letter has been signed on to buy some of the most conservative members. Mark Fincham from Oro Valley. Signed on to this, Um Shauna Bolic has signed on to this. And T. J. Shope Coolidge Republicans signed on the letter because he said that Ward should be held to the same standard that she's applying to others. So when you see this, the reason why I even wanted to bring this up When you have inside party politics you it does look hypocritical. I will tell you that This was a laughing stock and I'm not trying to be insulting. People were laughing at what happened here. They announced the winner wrong. Then they're refusing on it. When they have been screaming from the very beginning. This whole stop the steel thing that was going on all over the country. But Arizona was one of the key states in all of this. All of these thousands of boats. We heard about this being fraudulent, Maricopa County and this was fraudulent in this place, and this was fraudulent here, and when the county Board of Supervisors said, we are open to an audit. Get a judge to tell us to open the books and we'll open the books. We can't do any of this until litigation is over, and all the different legal reasons why they couldn't do what they were doing. There were people that wanted to recall and get rid of County Board of Supervisors members. They censured the governor of Arizona. Largely because he's certified the election when by law, he had no choice under the current laws to do anything other than certify the election on that day. That's what the law dictated he had to do. They were so angry that he didn't go against that and just be transparent. They've censured him, which means absolutely nothing other than we're mad at you, and we don't like you. But that's what they did as a party. And when they made a mistake, whether it was a mistake and counting or mistaking how they announced the vote when people within the party said, We want an audit to show people That it was transparent and show people what transparency looks like. The Republican Party said No. For so for anybody. That's new to the show that for if you can't figure this out, I am a registered Republican voter. And I want the principles of what I believe my political beliefs aligned with the Republican platform. But I don't want to look hypocritical either, And when you've got some of the most conservative members, these are people that all the time align themselves with leadership of the Arizona Republican Party. And they're telling party leadership. This looks horrible. It's inconsistent and it makes us all look bad. I don't know what's gonna happen, But the pressure is not going to go away. And you certainly cannot make a noise nationally that the election was stolen and we're going to stop the steel and we're gonna fight, Fight, Fight, fight, fight for transparency. And when it's your turn to be transparent, you say no. It looks terrible and I just We'll see how it ends..

"You have to request a ballot. The valley gets mailed to you. You mail your ballot back. They send you an email or a text message saying, we've received your ballot. They match your ballot up with your signature to make sure that they match If there's a question, you have a time period in which to correct the mistake of the question. So that they can verify that the person that the ballot was mailed to Is the person that voted So that part of it I agree with, But that doesn't mean that people are Happy with the way we do things, and in the end, the voters have to have confidence in the election. If both sides of the political aisle believe that there are holes, let's sit down as one team. Republicans and Democrats and come up with a system that everybody feels makes it fair. Let's see if we can solve the problem because there is a group of people on both sides. So I guess there's two groups of people that don't want to solve the problem because they always want to use it as an excuse when they lose. But there are other people that say the integrity of the election has been questioned with legitimate questions, eh? Let's clear up the questions be. Let's identify the areas where we can be better and see. Let's find a solution. Now, whether or not the solution would be in this bill. That Shauna Bolic is is putting out that would say that the Arizona Legislature has a mechanism in place of Vito. In case you get a rogue governor or something else. I don't think the governor did the wrong thing by certifying the election. I think he did it the right way. I think he did it by the book. I think he did it by the law. So Whether or not there was something that went on. It could not be proven. There was no evidence of it. The funny thing about this is the Republicans and many of them got elected or reelected. The leadership were a part of the call of just tearing the system apart. Maricopa County Board of Supervisors should be recalled. The governor needs to be censured. All of these things need to happen because you didn't give us the information we wanted on this election. Then they had a problem with their elections, and they use voting machines from hell, a county And someone said, I want an audit of all of this, he said. Well, the problem wasn't the vote itself. It was the person that announced the winner announced the wrong winner. So it was human error. It was and they said, Well, we want in on it. The Republican Party is refused. So the party that said, We don't care what the rules are. We want an audit. We want to see the evidence. We want to look. When someone said it to them said Nope. Not doing it. Doesn't look good, and it makes your case look weak. They should have done the audit. That's what's going on with the election system. And it's just it's a scary time. In a few moments. We're gonna talk about the president. He promised unity and he's meeting with Republicans about a relief bill for Corona virus. Could we get some unity in negotiation? Also more from the press conference is coming your way, so stick around for that. Question for you. What are some of the fun things you like to get out and do for me? It's simply getting out of the house and having fun with the kids. Well, if your weight.

"It's the mic Broom had show a lot going on coming up as a matter of fact, just after 10 o'clock. President Biden and executive orders. There are people are very upset that the executive orders continue. And there's some people even on his. Some of his supporters are saying, Hey, it's timeto. Time goes slow your roll with the executive orders. We're gonna talk about that just after 10. But here in Arizona the questions about the election the election certification. What was done, how it was done, and I understand I I completely understand the passion in this election cycle. I understand the legitimate feelings that some people had about asking questions. That's but once the snowball starts to roll downhill about cheating and fraud. It's hard to stop because you don't know the difference between what's reality and what is what you heard from someone else. It's like the game of telephone. When you're a kid. You're teacher's shows you how rumors get started. We all remember playing the game. And the teacher whispers something in one kid's ear, and he whispers it to the person behind him, and she whispers it. It goes all through the classroom and then the very last person to hear what the teacher said. Says it out loud. And it's hysterical that it's never what was said the first time. And we learned that very quickly that rumors can spread on election day We were hearing about being forced to use magic markers that were intentionally bleeding through ballots and changing people's votes. Now I wanted to dispel that rumor right away because if there are legitimate complaints, I didn't want to go down the road off this because I used the magic marker. I used the magic marker. They gave me my ballot was counted. It wasn't an anomaly. And so that this was one of those. I called it a false flag at the time. And we want to make sure that if we're making accusations that they're accurate So we've had all of these questions. The miracle. But County board of Supervisors of just authorized to audits are the voting software and hardware that was used by two separate companies a week apart. So that we can get to the bottom of anything that needs to be fixed. They one more level of transparency. I thought it was the right thing to do. So, um, Republican legislator in the house. Her name is Shauna Bolic. Who, by the way, I think is, um Terrific. I think she's one of the smartest people down at the Capitol building. There is a bill that she is house. Bill 20. I'm sorry, 27 20 that would allow the Legislature now. This is, according to Lori Roberts. That it would allow them to veto your vote. So that what they're trying to do. Legislature retains its legislative authority regarding the office of the presidential elector and by majority vote at any time before presidential inauguration may revoke the secretary of state's issuance or certification of a presidential electors certificate of the election. So they, um the bill would ensure that the Legislature Could, um Veto if they thought the certification of the election Now whether or not they could tell the electors how to vote is a different thing. But this is so that the governor doesn't have the power to just sign off on the election. I don't agree with this. I think this is overreaching but again. When you have an election. That was the way this Woz when you have all of these court cases and evidence is not presented because the people presenting the case is believed they couldn't get to the evidence that they were blocked from getting it. This is what happens. The problem is once again, in my opinion, this is looking backwards that we are once again trying to change that, or they're going to say we're looking forward, so it never happens again. The problem with something like this is you're going to give power to a legislative body that in two years there's a pretty fair chance is going to come into the fans off the opposition party. And what happens if they want to weaponize this? Even if you would say we would never do that. It would only be in the most extreme cases. What happens when a legislative group doesn't have the same restraint? You have So there. I don't know how far this is going to go. But it's a piece of legislation that's been proposed. And I don't know why Steve handed this to me that he did. This can't be right. I mean, this can't be Um This can't be true, right? You tell me, Senator Wendy Rogers, who got herself in a gotten herself in a little bit of trouble recently. Just a little, um I hope I really hope that the accusation against her aren't true not because she's a Republican, but because I don't want to hear. I don't want anybody to be treated the way she's accusing of treating someone that worked for her in the Legislature. I sincerely mean that The accusations are just appalling of the way she treated somebody, and I hope it's not true. She slammed a door on them and spit on them said You work for me. Don't forget that The guy had cove it. He was an aid and was working from always off on 10. Days of paid leave for Cove. It And it was forced to work while he was sick. I just hope that's not true. Listen, you're right. It's just accusations at this point, but it does not look good. Right? Um ECM 1003 introduced by Senator Roger's, a concurrent memorial, urging the Arizona Department of Transportation to designate state route.
Video Invades Photography
"In. The last couple of weeks there have been several significant camera announcements and they have me scratching my head. Canon introduced the new are five and are six and the big feature in both of those cameras is improved ability to do video, and shortly on the heels of the are five in the are six came the announcement of the. Sony. A seven s three, which is again, very heavily oriented toward video production. In fact, the last update for my Panasonic Jeanine was mainly about some video features and same thing with g h five improving video features that camera g h five is basically sold as a video camera. And the reason all of this has me scratching my head. Is because. I don't know how many photographers are that interested in video evidently must be a lot. But maybe because I'm so photography centric both with my own work and with Lens Work, the idea that my camera shoots video is. Basically. Unimportant to me if my camera had no video capabilities I, don't think I'd care. But. There's no question. There is pressure I. Guess that's the way I perceive it. Anyway, there is pressure being put on still photographers to embrace video for reasons that I guess I don't understand I was never in my youth tempted to pick up an old bolic's sixteen millimeter movie camera and try to make movies. When VCR's came out and we suddenly had cameras that could record on videotape I was never tempted to try to use. Of VHS camera to make artwork video something I, enjoy I watch television I watch movies, we all do I suppose but I was never motivated to WanNa make. Videos and partly I think because there's so many differences between video and still photography. That this intersection between equipment so that you can have a hybrid camera. Seems to me to be putting legs on a snake. It's not of any interest to those of us who are still photographers unless you're seduced into being interested in it, but it's a completely different thing for example. The most obvious difference between video and photography is that video is time based. You consume video by abandoning yourself to it's time orientation, and if a video is five minutes or ten minutes or three hours long. It takes you that long to see it. Photography is not photography. I explain. I'm going to use photography as meaning still photography. So I have to say still photography every diamond the rest of the podcast i. hope that's okay. Photography to me is not in the least time based, you can spend ten seconds looking at a photograph. You can spend ten minutes looking at a photograph. The viewer is in control of the time they are not in control of the time in a video. Okay. Yes. You can probably rewind video if you WANNA watch a certain passage of it over again but the presentation of the ideas and the visuals is completely out of our control is a viewer that makes these two media as different as different can be. Video has jump cuts were you go from one visual to the next visual and oftentimes they will do that. For example, in a conversation with the audio track not jump cutting just the video track jump cuts, but the audio is continuous. and. So there's a certain herky-jerky nece to video that can be problematic. It's not comfortable from a visual point of view. If you really want to look at the visual, it gets taken away from you at the next jump cut and it seems to me like the jump cuts are happening faster and faster and faster in the last ten or twenty years. Conversely. Photography offers us the possibility of lingering as long as we want, and we're in control of when we go to the next image whether that's in a book or a gallery presentation again as different as different can be. Next. Video does not translate to my favorite photographic medium, which is books. Photography does. Okay video can be translated to a laptop or to an ipad or something like that. But it's not the same as a book when I sit down with the book for example, I know exactly how much there is just by looking at how thick the book is with video I have no idea unless they tell me how long it is. So it's a variable commitment on my part that I'm basically jumping into and I don't know how long this is going to take unless I specifically look it up. And also with the book. I can have text I can read things or not read things there can be. Passages that have. Only with no images so that it gives me a different and unique experience where I can sort of recall images in my mind's eye while I'm reading the text, which you basically can't do when you're watching a movie. You can't recall a different image than you're seeing on the screen unless you I suppose you could close your eyes but no one does that. So. If photography has a destination of book and video does not where do you view video while you're going to view it in a movie theater you're going to view it on television you're going to view it on a computer screen. Photography. Can Be displayed on a computer screen but I don't ever recall seeing a photographic exhibition in a movie theater at her or really do I recall seeing one broadcast on television You could put a slide show I, suppose on you television, but even that's not exactly the same thing but. Sort of I mean there's a little bit of cross fertilization there. But although we can put. Still photographs on a TV screen, we can't put a video in
The Ins and Outs of Steroids
"Now before we begin. I do want to say this episode is not meant to be a comment on anyone that does steroids is more for educational don't purposes so that people can understand the what could be considered the physiological positive effects of steroids but obviously explore the negative effects of steroids always as well and what they really are. Firstly the words steroid has many different meanings as steroids can be chemicals that often hormones that your body makes endogenously within the body naturally on the help carryout cell activity and you need a healthy balance to grow grow. The other hand steroids can be made can be synthetic on of which there are the two main types that are co scare steroids on Anabolic Andrew. Genetic steroids animal officials so corticosteroids are medicines that quickly fight inflammation flirtation. They work like the Hormone Cortisol and Cortisol keeps your immune system from making substances that cause inflammation so these types of steroids. They slow or stop the immune system process that triggers this inflammation but admits that presented. I won't say because mainly on Bolic's so as mentioned anabolic steroids are aw synthetic manmade properties and aversions of testosterone which is the male predominately male sex hormone. That's how it was build big muscles. The women duels out testosterone but men have more women have more issues and in the name and unapologetic. This refers to muscle building on drudge refers to increase male sex caracteristics. And that's why. The name is anabolic for muscle-building For the male sex characteristics so it's worth saying that healthcare providers can prescribe steroids to treat hormonal issues. If you have some from delay puberty for example it can also treat diseases. That cool was muscle all such such as concern AIDS. But obviously in this episode wouldn't be focusing on ready how athletes and bodybuilders can misuse these drugs in attempt to boost a physical appearance and Affleck performance but before we look into the dangers associated with Miss USA steroids. Let's look into what could be considered the positive effects. They have on the body so taking it back to what happens when we work out. We know that when we lift weights we put a muscle strain and we are progressively area loading them to create tiny micro ties in our muscle fibers wipers and the body's natural repair process. That happens when we start to repair the TAT. And add further cells to build a stronger fiber and this is known as muscle hypertrophy. And every time it's is this repeats. The process of tie-down rebuild results in muscle brave and natural testosterone is one of the main ingredients for this process but the anabolic steroids can serve as a supplement so once ingested or injected and all about steroid traveled through the bloodstream to the muscle. Tissue is drawn to the muscle cells receiving dot colder under Gen receptor on these receptors shaved very specifically to bind with the body's natural testosterone. Whole matter but once this synthetic steroids in place the receptor Sir is activated?
