"I think there are a few others in here that deserve noting as well. Mary and Francis number one, I guess is the other Brad Cox. That's why jaru is on amendment 19, but you can't knock the win last time out at keeneland and willful woman for Steve asked me number two is second off a layoff and has been running against some pretty good horses, but I like amendment 19 best. Okay, so we've got the same two horses. We're just reversing them a little bit. Dave's going 9 and 8. I like 8 and 9. We both think that they're better than the morning line favorite Olivia of the desert. Once again, don't pay too much attention to the morning line at Oakland. I hate to say that. I think it's a much more important job than what they're making it out to be. Unfortunately, it's not usually for everything I love about Oakland park. And I love most things about Oakland. Their morning line is not one of the things. And Dave and I both think that the morning line favorite is vulnerable in this spot, going with 8 and 9s, 9s and 8s in the mistletoe race number 9 tomorrow over at Oakland. Let's head down to Tampa Bay downs. They've got a couple of stakes on their Saturday card. And the first one is race number 7, the $100,000 sandpiper stakes. These are two year old Phillies going to sprint 6 for longs on their main track, a big field of ten to go to post here, Dave. And number one strategic bird is the two to one favorite on the morning line boy. She was phenomenally good in her debut last time at Gulfstream. You can't knock the effort and Mark Casa Hall of Famer and Gary barber has owned a whole lot of really, really good horses. John oxley bred this one in Florida and great first effort. But was 8 to one, which means wasn't exactly getting a ton of support, and that was a state bred maiden special weight. To me, two to one is not going to do the tricks. Strategic bird may win and may win with open links. But I'm not going in that direction. The horse I like best is, I don't know, maybe this is just trying to push a square peg into a round hole. Number 8, 8 to one in the morning line, low percentage barn. I just think the horse's devil that has been running against her better than pretty much everyone else who they've been facing last time out the two turn race. I don't think that's what this horse wants. Go back to that one turn race on August 28th. It's pretty competitive. I was really impressed by the maiden score at Gulfstream in August. You're giving me a good price in a race where I'm trying to beat the favorite. I'll take devil at it at 8 to one. All right, so 8 to one on number 8 devil let for Dave, who figures to show speed? I did not get creative. I don't know what to make of number one strategic bird other than if they didn't bet her in her debut. And maybe they expect her to get better. Second and third time out. I listen, I don't know if she's going to be better second out. You know, she could be a flash in the pan, one and done type Philly. She could be affiliated that has to have the lead and then gets brave out there and they're certainly going to be other speed to her outside tomorrow. I do know this. If she runs that race, she's going to win. If she runs close to that race, she's going to win. And she picks up a pretty good substitute writer in Antonio Gallardo who always is one of the top jocks at Tampa Bay downs. I don't want a short price, but I'm going to pick number one strategic bird on top to be honest and a race that I don't love the sandpiper stakes tomorrow at Tampa Bay downs. Race 9 tomorrow at Tampa is the $100,000 inaugural stakes two year olds 6 furlongs on the main track field of ten to go to post here. And the morning line favorite in this race all the way out on the outside is the ten concrete glory. 7 career starts already for the son of bode Meister. He didn't look so good the first four starts of his career, but he's looked great the last three. In the last win was the only one to me that you go, oh, maybe we have something here. The maiden claiming win Prescott aisle presque isle and then the next win or kind of lesser track spot last time out at Gulfstream a convincing win in an optional claiming race and you have good connections here, jockeys and trainers that win a lot of races. I think facing a higher quality of competition in this one. I think you can go a lot of different ways lightning Larry number 8. I think is coming off back to back solid races, the one optic go go ran at woodbine last time out was a big price and a stakes race and ran okay. But cadden number 5 for Ralph nicks is my choice. I think the two courses that that horse has lost to each of the last two races octane and Cajun's magic absolutely would blow away this field and caden finished competitively not close, but reasonably within distance to those two. I think the cutback is a good thing too and Ralph Nick certainly has had a tough week with his father passing away earlier a long time trainer. And I think my heart and my dollars are going to be with number 5. Okay, 6 to one on the morning line for cat and Dave's top choice in the inaugural. I'm also going to try to beat the favorite. And I'm going to even take a bigger price. Number three magical moose for the team of Jesus crews and Isaac Castillo teamed up for a win in a maiden claiming race, the debut for magical moves at Delaware park on October 30th, got bet that day ran a good race stalking the pace making the lead and drawing off to win by two and a half three lengths. Since arriving at Tampa, he shows two SolidWorks, including a bullet 5 furlong drill. Out of the gate back on November 24th, Isaac Castillo, who wrote him in his debut, is aboard once again tomorrow, and I think if he takes the normal step forward, like two year olds do from their first start to their second start, he could be a big player in here at a very nice price. So 15 to one on number three magical moose, my top choice in the inaugural, Dave going with number 5 cat and we're both trying to beat the favorites and the favorite right now. The favorites are number ten concrete glory and number 8 lightning Larry looks like a wide open renewal of the inaugural race 9 tomorrow at Tampa Bay downs. We'll take our final break when we come back. We will look at the Sunday action, both aqueduct and woodbine, you're listening to the weekend stakes preview presented by nyra betts on the horse racing radio network..

"So that's the type of competition she was facing. So I mean, that's a horse I might take a swing at with Morales up. Obviously, morning cocktail makes sense because she's run well at Tampa at the main special weight level. And you can kind of draw a line through a sloppy sealed go at finger Lake. But the one horse is interesting. Just from the standpoint of she's not getting any respect. She's installed at 30 to one on the morning line. Yet, if you go through her running lines, the last article Gulfstream was on the synthetic. To start before that, sloppy steel track, the start before that, 5 and a half hour long's on turf. Several for that, they put her in the seeking the pearl stakes as a made net colonial. I was there. There exactly. And she actually got a couple of lengths of the pace at one point. But then before that, main special way at colonial, she had drawn the rail but still holds for second. So this is a horse who should not be 30 to one. She's my third pick actually. So I went to 6 one and then if you want to throw on your ticket the ten. Yeah, I thought each of the outside three you could certainly make a case for morning cocktail makes it looks very kind of logical right just coming off a pretty decent effort to feed your legs. See these April hotties when we saw it colonial going long and you know, when they dropped down to a price that seemed to be good on the turf ran pretty good, but you go back to Tampa this one at a maiden 40, you know, ran a pretty decent second at a big price. It was a smaller field, which sometimes can amplify that. But I just didn't think the craziest of long shots in what could be a weird race too, right? There's going 7 is just a different beast on earth. And there's a lot of horses who have not done that yet, including the favorite. You know, along with the turf, the distance I guess is a little question you explained why it might not be, but just from a question standpoint. But I thought because like I said, on paper to me, it looked like kind of a two maybe three horse race, but it doesn't seem like there's that much needed to move forward if the two regresses for anybody to kind of jump up. Oh, no. And that's the thing. And you'll go back later and you'll be like, oh. We mentioned the morning line. We should mention we have a new warning line, maker this season. Marc Luther, so I'm curious because morning line makers they do they kind of have their little tendencies and isles kind of like to watch and look for that, you know, maybe what connections he thinks will get bad and stuff like that. So that'll be an interesting, I think little wrinkle to the early part of the season. You mentioned the 7th race a little earlier on and we get to that good classic optional claimer going on to 16th on the turf. The latter half of this card I'm really pumped for. There's just some fun races any big field of ten, but there's an MTO, so we're most likely looking at 9 or less. Obviously, depending on scratches and staying on the turf, but where did you land here? This is where I because I believe in having a single on your ticket. I just do I mean, if you really, really can't separate and you are willing to spend more money than fine. I guess, but I feel like you need a single for separation if you want to hit something. For any type of size, anyway, and it shouldn't be a favorite. And so in this case, this is where I decided single and I'm taking a little bit of a swing here with the number 8 serene for Owen hardy. And who, by the way, is training for training the other horse candy job for the first time. Yeah. So you got to go off and again here. And as you would expect, she's another well bred horse, you're by tap it, you're a fascinating by smart strike and it just that mom is multiple grade one place and she's a half sister to bode Meister. So here's my take on this Philly. She has only been on firm turf one time in her career and it was her debut and she was a rank force. So I draw a line through it. I'm always forgiving a debut always. It doesn't matter. Next race, she shines, Arlington park synthetic track miles 16 crushes by 8 and a half lengths. And there were two goals on yielding ground after that. She came up next short after going wide there at Arlington. That horse you won Katie milady. She next set the pace in the Illinois princess stakes. She came up a link short ultimately, but she did get an 85 buyer figure. I think it was encouraging obviously that they thought in terms of serene herself, they put her in the dueling grounds oaks out of that Arlington park runner up finish. We know about the undulating turf course, but not only was it undulating that day, but it was yielding as well. And he was also running fans Lasix. So that might be another part of the equation you potentially want to factor in. I will say the winner their adventuring, she next ran third, but she's only beaten the length in a quarter and the great Delhi view also the horse who was second ver Burnham. She was 7th in her next start, but she got an 85 in the grade three dowager. And the other thing that I think is worth noting is the horse you finished last in the dueling grounds oaks was core values who was already a two time stakes winner and she also was in that valley these days. And she put up an 80 by running sip and that was after she had the rail. So I think this is a silly with a lot of upside who is again getting on from her for the first time. She is getting a nice distance. I think it's going to be right in the sweet spot of a mile in the 16th. And now she has this experience. And I think she knows her job better. She said, it pays to run into too. The two three and the four are almost like they kind of want to go and all kind of drawn right next to each other sometimes can equal things going. This isn't out of the shoot race. And so I thought this race definitely set up for somebody from off the pace in the 8 was certainly. I thought one of the ones for sure. And that's yeah. And that's another reason why I like the ten in here because I think ten is very adaptable. I think she's a horse that she can stick closer. She can and you've got Gallardo who's got one of the best clocks in his head to time out of race. So I think she is very dangerous and then I think between the speed before I was in the fortune. Yeah. Yeah, I use optics a lot for mine in the forest, certainly had the best finishing at least of the top three there. But I think an interesting race like I said, I thought set up for somebody to come from a little bit off. I mentioned earlier the 8th race. That's the one with the horses coming from all over. And this one on the optics plot looked like you could make a case for about 6 or 7 horses. A little relief, I guess to hear that you were going, why? But then again, part of me is like, well, if everybody else is going wide, maybe this is the race to be narrow, but I just could not pinpoint a real strong opinion here because I just want to point. Right? Yeah. Oh, I mean, that's, you know, I always want to zig when there's egg in, but this was just an open 62 50 kind of race. And so you just get a little bit. There you go. A lot of horses in decent form. You just said it. These the way I would say is the price might not be high, but the respect is. These are a lot of old school hard knockin types. I mean, the horse on the rail, for example, Courtney's song. He's going to be making his 60th start and he's a competitive horse. This isn't one of these horses. Why are they still learning this part? I mean, these are competitive horses who are game. These are the types of horses that you're going to see. One of them wins win on Wednesday and then the next time they meet up together, it's going to be a different one. And the next time it's going to be a different one. And three of them are going to be claimed out of here too, by the way. Right. Oh gosh, yeah. That's the other part of the equation. Yes, there's a whole lot of chest pain that goes on throughout the meat. But I ultimately if you said you have to pick one horse rent..
