"On Amazon. The second book will be launched in June and the third one in July, followed by the rest. But it all centers around the core characters in the first book in their family and friends. And so the book is about all of this area, which is hundreds of miles between El Paso and Boca chica. And all of the different aspects of the Texas Mexico border. So have to ask you, BJ, want to know, I like to read, okay. And I place an interesting value in books and literature. I have to ask you, do you feel books are on the way out? No, not at all. Not at all. One of the hottest markets in today's book market is young adult YA, but this is an adult content, but I think since the COVID epidemic, people are reading more. And I think you'll find that independent bookstores have gained a volume, which they've never seen before. People are reading both digital digitally as well as paperback. So it all depends on what the reader wants. They want to hold it in their hand like a paper or do they want to do the digital reading. But I have to ask you this. I read a book, maybe you know it, and you're a person who probably has read a lot and written a lot. And I read this book by a fellow and I'm more than or Adler, how to read a book. It was written in 1943. The culture was significantly different in terms of this kind of thing. And today, I think people read more then. I think they did. But I'm not sure. I didn't love that. But he said that if you depend on images, it's a drug. As opposed to print. He said it's a drug.

"Hello, welcome to the Lebanese show. I'm your host John meloni in this episode. I brought on regular Andrew shatkin. And as for our guest, returning from going great. Anyway, returning from season 5, she's from Dallas, Texas, and she is an author that writes fiction. Ladies and ladies and gentlemen, I give you BJ Taylor. Hi, how are you? Miss Taylor, how are you? Nice to see you. I'm fine, Andrew. I'm really happy. I'm really happy to meet you because I'm extreme I'll tell you, Betty. I'm the person who is happy to meet people who are creating and contributing to the world, which is what you're doing. So what's your full name? Well, I go by the name of BJ Taylor, you know? All right, that's okay. You can take any time you want. Yeah. So Adam drew, where are you located? Where are they New York City? And I like you to tell me a little about your I want to approach things. I want to know you as a person, if I could do it. Because for me, every person has something to say to me. And I'd like to know what you want to say about tell me about your life. Well, my life has been on the border between. El Paso and Boca chica. And my book is called hallelujah, and it's about a mystery about that borderland area. And that's what I basically have to say. The book is set in 20 19 during the blessed Trump administration, which was a horror show for our area and our culture down here. I would imagine, oh yeah, sure.

"I would call ahead to make sure you can get the tour because you can't just stroll around. You've got to sign up. You should also be there's a spaceport America podcast now so you can get ready before you go. And that's where the thunderbolt thunderbirds train. So you might see some thunderbirds, which is always exciting. The virgin's got all their stuff down there. That's where they're flying out of now. So yeah, that would be worth saying. And the architecture is really cool. It's one of those they sprayed inflate a big mushroom shaped balloon and then spray concrete over it. And so it's a very cool looking place. Oh my God. But launch is not open to the public at this point. You have to arrange a tour ahead of time. Yeah, because then it says this on the website. It's an active test facility. Wander in there. No, no. Then between El Paso, Texas and Dallas, I'll be I can stop by Blue Origin, their van horn, Texas. Is that Boca chica? No, that's very important. So that's where the new shepherd launches out of. You know, I would definitely call ahead there because I don't think unless you're a member of the press, I'm not sure you can get a tour of that facility. And there's not much there. It's not like it's not like SpaceX's operation. It's kind of a lonely, lonely launch pad with a bunch of stairs up to a gantry and a couple of buildings. So they do have a testament manufacturer facility there. But look for a guy in a big cowboy hat. You might get lucky now. The ball of champagne is ready. I've been there. Yeah. I mean, I'm with you, Arizona, Lou, you're driving there. You got a van. Drive by anyway, wave take a picture. Yeah. I think that sounds like fun. I mean, how often do you get to van horn, Texas? Let's be honest. In a van. Yeah, in a van. Now, what was your email? Thank you, rob. We'll talk to rod Moore about space is a big anniversary today actually. We'll talk to him in just a bit. But what was your email question? Well, I'm not sure where email resides lives in the ether like all of us. It resides in two places, the company providing the email has a copy of it. So it floats through the Internet until it gets to often, by the way, email passes through a variety of servers on the way to you. So you send an email and it goes out, it goes through a variety of servers just like your browsing does as you search for a website and eventually gets to the server that hosts your email..

"Species out there Maybe Hopefully we want to go find out what the heck's going on What is going on How do we get here What's meaning of life 42 But what if what's the question And if we go out there and we explore the all right you're listening to us there from star based Boca chica And his friends to go to bars and other space related endeavors If you have a Bloomberg terminal you can track these developments most comments are coverage reaction to it on live go We're going to go now back to tracking markets financial markets for you here on Bloomberg daybreak Asia with Doug Kris nerd All right thank you Denise And our guest for the half hour is Nancy Davis She has found her and CIO of quadratic capital She's on the line from Connecticut as we take a look at what's happening in some of the price action today Nancy thanks for joining us A big day in the states with super hot reading on U.S. retail inflation and then surprising commentary from the head of the St. Louis fed bank Jim bullard saying hey I'm going to support raising the fed funds rate by about a hundred basis points from where we are now through early July That sounds pretty aggressive should the fed be concerned Are they behind the curve when it comes to inflation Yes we just had a 40 year high on the inflation print and they are definitely behind the curve The interesting thing though is the rates market even though we've had these very high CPI prints believes that the fed is going to make a policy mistake with these hikes So even before the St. Louis fed came out saying a hundred basis points by July even before those comments hit the tape after the CPI number the rates market had already priced in a full hundred basis points of hikes before the July meeting And we had a tremendous amount of forward guidance already priced in currently you can see this on your Bloomberg terminal There's a 163 basis points priced in this year alone with midterms later this year and the tapering taper being finished So it's definitely very very hot in the U.S. but I don't really think great hikes are going to help stop this inflation It's a question I don't really think monetary policy with rate hikes is the way to go here because it's really pandemic related with the supply shocks and also the balance sheet expansion I kind of want to say to them what about the balance sheet What are we doing about that It's not just hiking rates That matters Maybe we can return to that balance question in a moment but in terms of inflation I mean as you point out there are other exogenous factors which have driven it to this high level Is it possible that inflation could ease just as quickly as it rose Oh definitely And the rates market is priced that in you can see that again on your Bloomberg terminal with the level of break evens even though we've had 5 prints above 5 and CPI two above 6 and now two above 7 the one year break-even is for 18 But the ten year break-even is under two and a half So the rates market doesn't believe that inflation is going to be anything other than transitory But that forecast we've talked about the fed maintaining that line of reasoning for all of 2021 it kind of failed them obviously I think acknowledged that they're behind the curve at this point The question is now whether or not we've seen a big risk of a policy mistake and maybe a much weaker economic growth trajectory as a result of this tightening Yeah and the markets are absolutely agree with you The markets are priced for a policy mistake Today the one year two's tens forward So that's a difference between the two year and the tenure Fully inverted It's currently negative 8 basis points So with the rates market is saying is the fed is going to hike this year and the ten year yield is actually going to go lower than the two year yield And that will it's always chicken or egg which comes first inverted yield curve or the recession but the market is fully pricing in a policy mistake So we do have a great variable here that you mentioned We've been through periods of tightening before and the market's been fine and even though it was 40 years ago Yeah we've had periods of high inflation before as well but what's different as you mentioned this giant balance sheet near 9 trillion is that with this policy mistake risk really gets real Absolutely I'm really shocked that they haven't been talking about it at all The elephant in the room When is that going to be on the table Because at the end of the day a lot of the inflation is probably from the balance sheet expansion And from the results of the pandemic whether it's supply side shocks or labor market shortages And so I personally think the rates market is accurate that if the fed really does hike think about a 163 basis points this year alone plus more hikes priced in for 23 It's probably going to put us in a recession So I'm kind of like where's the balance sheet What's going on with that I really don't understand why they're not talking about it Well buller did say he would be he would be in favor of shrinking it sometime in the second quarter So he's kind of laid the groundwork there But I think we have to be clear I mean the reduction of the balance sheet is different from the tapering process They've been buying a lot of mortgage backed security debt obviously U.S. treasuries as well That process is going to come to a screeching halt And from what I've been reading they don't intend to liquidate any of their positions on the balance sheet They're just going to let that kind of normalize roll off I mean they will capture the coupon payments deposit that payment at the US Treasury They are not going to reinvest the money from principled They'll push a button on the keyboard and abracadabra that will go away So help me understand the threat as you see it from not aggressively unwinding the balance sheet The threat is that they are going to hike rates It's not going to make any difference with the inflation And we can definitely be an environment where we have higher prices in the form of inflation But much lower growth And that could really hurt businesses and credit and companies and I think the balance sheet is a very obvious way to be normalizing the rates market I mean even the ten year move to a little over 2% today That's not normal We have 7 handle CPI prints Why would anybody be buying ten year bonds at 2% So the market is kind of artificially I'd say pumped up right now And they really need to do something to control inflation And I don't think the rate hikes have already been priced in and it hasn't stopped it So I don't see what's going to change even if they do hike because the market has already priced that So how does the fit run off the balance sheet In the absence of any commentary from the board members what ideas do investors have What ideas does the community have about how best to approach this I feel like we should ask Elon Musk because he's building his modern day Noah's ark to take us all to a multi planetary life I mean that is the $1 million question because it's like market's been stimulated for so long financial markets We've had asset price inflation Now we have real inflation And how do you take it away We haven't had that It's easy to kind of put it in but taking it out is definitely going to be I think investors should be prepared for more market volatility whether it's market volatility to the upper bit down because we're really in uncharted waters Plus all the factors with the pandemic We've never had anything like this in modern financial markets So it's definitely a pickle Nancy hold a line for one sec Paul is going to give us the latest on some of the price action that he's seeing there in the apac region And we're going to update global news in a moment Nancy Davis.

"At Mars. We all afford the tech guy. I just feel like an advertisement. It doesn't, that's not useful. It's better. I'll tell you what, it's way better than that incorporating the navigation system from my Jaguar in there, which takes about 30 seconds to update. It is the worst. I know. On board, nav system I've ever seen. I literally, you click, you touch and drag the screen and it sits there. My old Audi. Because they designed these years ago and the technology, my old Audi, the voice assistant. For some reason, sound like this. So looking for your address, there's a lot of water. It was just like, surely you could do better. Come on, you're outie. Come on. I've got a great factor for you. Yes, sir. They're aligning and collimating the mirrors on the web now. So as you know, they all occupy. There's 6 little actuators on each of those mirror cells and they can align and I guess to a certain amount of flexing of them to make focus perfect. And it's going to take a while to do. Because there's such small motors and they're calibrated to move in nanometers once the thing is in its working mode. Yeah. But to unlock the mirrors from their launch configuration and get them ready for that alignment, they have to be moved about a half inch away from the locking pins. So there was a NASA guy that talk for us for the NSS, a couple days ago. And they said that those alignment mechanisms, those motors move at about the same speed that grass grows. That's pretty amazing. That's fine. Because you don't want to make sure that you do it. And you want to do it precisely. Have you seen John was just showing me the chopsticks video on the star starship? Have you seen this? Does chopsticks? Oh, the catching mechanism? Yes. Yeah, yeah. That doesn't work on quite a while. Hasn't tested it yet, except with a crane, but yeah it's pretty impressive. It works. It'll work really well as long as the starship is under power coming down. But if they get a little bobble in the retro fire, then what happens? Crash? Hopefully not. I don't know what the tensile strength of those things is. And that would be interesting to see. You know, how much they can handle. But yeah, I just feel like that's the kind of thing they should be working on, not putting in echo in the Artemis. This is just a spaceship SpaceX SpaceX. The audacity of matching the rocket on landing. It's one thing when it lands over there on a barge or in an empty field. Okay, okay. Come right back to the launch pad. We got you. Grab yours are coming down. We got you. Yeah. I can't wait to see that. And that's why you and I are going out of Boca chica for one of the deals. Deal. Deal will put our nose up against the fence like 5 year old boys. I can't wait. And there's nobody I'd rather go with than you. You can tell me all about what's going on. That's a great way. When is that going to be? Well, we hope this year. Wow. Few months. I mean, it's supposed to happen in March, but there's some dancing going on with the FAA, so let's talk because I would love to see that..

"So that's you learn how you know, just, you know, when I ride the pony up and back every day with my sets, and I watch them go and at this point in my career, I'm pretty good at being able to see how these horses are going. And I look at all of them going up and all of them coming back. You know, I've got a radio on. I've talked to my assistant and say, hey, we need to put this one to the side. We need to look at something or something need to be looked at when we get back. So as you learn to train horses and you learn how to be observant of all the things you try to catch as much as you can to do the right thing for the horses. And that experience is a jockey has to pay off as you train horse. The being able to get on horses and feeling what they're like and what they can deal with what they can't deal with what they're doing, what they're dealing with, I guess. Yeah, and after watching them go, I've learned to really see how horses move and when you see how horses move and you can tell a whole lot by how they're doing, and how they breathe and you know, it just takes time. You know, you have to just do it for a while. And we're just going to do it for a while and watch the horses go and learn each learn how the horses are while they're training. And as a former Jackie, you, does that make you more critical or less critical of Jackie's riding your horses and the or just I don't think it makes me more critical, but it makes it helps me help them. Because I go to the gate with them, and I can sit there and I'm going to say and they're in the gate with the horse. I'll say, listen, or I'll see you something that the jockey or Ryder will do at night. And I'll say, you know, you know, you don't need the assistant starter to turn your turn on set for you. Use your reign and keep one hand on the main and turn your head himself. You help the horse. You can help the horse better than the assistant starter can help the horse. Get his hand in against the back doors. So when they kick it, he doesn't have to back up. He's already against a back doors. Things like that, because I mean, that part is definitely helped me a lot as far as being able to we brought a lot of bug boys along over the years. We had Jose montano who was a clip award winning bug boy from here. And you know, I think I taught him a lot and I try to teach him a lot. And I watch races and I can see a lot of times I'll see before leaving on the Gates. This horse is not going to get off good because the way he's standing. And then I'll talk to the right after I say, you know, if you had done this or done that, I think it would have helped you a lot. And what the young horses at the gate in the morning will sometimes get a lot of not a lot, but sometimes I'll get off the pony and I'll get up in the game. I say, this is what you need to do. This is how it's gonna make you benefit the horse and get the horse out of the gate better. And so being a writer definitely helped me on that aspect because some of these young guys just haven't learned. They haven't had enough experience to do that. And if you can help them on those type of things, it's great. And it'll help you tenfold as far as when it comes to race at night. And you have a great relationship now with Boca chica who won 7 of all 7 stakes the other night. What's the how important is that to have a relationship with a kid first he give first call rider and I'm sure he comes in every morning or when you need him to resources how important is that? It's tremendous. He's, you know, he deserves everything he gets. He's the hardest working leading rider that's probably in the country. He works every day, because I'm getting maybe Thursday. And, you know, if you need your day off, he gets it. But he doesn't mind coming in. And if I'm away, if I'm at the sales or something, I'll say, I'm gonna be the sales. He says, don't worry. I'll make sure everything goes smooth because, you know, this is his barn, you know? And he wants to make sure it goes right too. So he's a hardworking guy. We have a great relationship. He can take constructive criticism and something goes wrong. You know, and he's a very good writer. And there's still things that, you know, I can point out to him and he can handle it and does what he has to do as far as what we talk about, because we talk about races, you know, well ahead of time, especially on breeder sites and the big nights. You know, we talk about what's going on. And then if we had a big night of racing, we'll sit down in the morning and say, hey, you know, what happened or what we could have done or what we did right or whatever. So it's a great relationship. That's why we've had pretty good success here because we do it. We match very well together. Yeah, and he must respect you for the experience you've had as a Jackie, I guess, too. That helps. I think so. He knows I know what I'm talking about when it comes to a lot of these things. So, you know, when I tell him something he takes it to heart and he's very attentive as far as paying attention to what we talk about. And there's things that happened that, you know, I'll come back later and say, okay. You know, if you had done this or I think, you know, especially the gate thing is one thing that is important here. So if you get your horse standing correctly and get them where they need to be, that's really important here. And he knows I stress that. I stress it with all the writers. The importance of having a horse prepared in the gate. So that's one thing we talk about some. But focus wrote enough for us. He knows what he's doing..

"He will then be like, take it easy and take it slow. He actually wasn't like a big go to a bigger picture. If you're doing good, you happy, you stay there. It's more like my dream, I would like to be in a place like that, but he was like, if you don't agree with your family fine, don't worry about it. Just be happy. And is that how his career went him? Is that how he was at his career? He was really early and he's got here. So he was more than he became training, and he worked in the career was only like 5 6 years because he got really bad. He couldn't move his arm much. So he has became a trainer, but he gets different opportunities. And he just stayed where he was happy, so and that's why he told me you'll be where you feel like you happy and if you're doing, because before he passed I was still I was doing good by the interface. You're doing really good over there. So if you want to leave, mature is the high opportunity and it's going to work out. And what about your brother's career? What have you learned from his career? Then he went to suffer down with the regulator. He moved to Florida, but everything he moved, he moved with your training. So that's why I say if I have an opportunity to go with somebody who's going to give me opportunity to do because he did it and he really doesn't know when he got really bad and he started to come back now but he did his career and power off him. And he talked to him about advice, get advice from him, he watched your racist. That kind of relationship? Yeah, we do like early machete. The big nights like that, I always talk to him. He replaces the horses. To the race together, like he gave me advice. Maybe you should be doing this, maybe putting here this whole like he has been like, we go to the races together and he's giving me advice. Yeah, that's a bit that's a big help to have somebody in your corner like that all the time. Yeah, and so with your career going forward, would you, well, what would it take for you to move from Charles town? Would it be, it would be somebody come to you an agent or a trainer to say, come on, let's try this circuit. Yeah, something like that, but I need to make sure that they are going to give me the opportunity like I didn't say come to this training. Anything going to give you opportunity a lot of them. That's good. So then I will try. But are people tell me if I come here? I feel people, but then I see people that work with them before they never have logged never so therefore. So it's hard to go with somebody like that. So that's why I have a movie. Yeah, it's hard to walk away from a guy like Jeff Franco, you can go when you win 8 stakes on a day. I'm not sure that's ever been done by any jockey anywhere on any circuit. So it's hard to walk away from guys that are committed to you and getting on those kind of horses. Yeah, and then every year he brings good horses. Every year he got the best babies. Knowing that you had the best deal, and then the year we had something that might be even better than every year he goes and get the best babies. So it's hard to listen something like that. When you know you want to be winning artists, I said, you have all these good horses over here. I have my house here, my wife, my family. So starting a new place, it had to be really like a 100% sure that I'm going to be a little top 5. That makes sense. You're a smart kid. How old are you? 34. So 34 Megan living in Charles town and yeah, the right opportunity comes along. You'd leave, but otherwise, and I don't mean to just dwell on opportunity. You're doing great here and you're happy here making good money when it ate steaks to the light, right? Yeah, I mean, then when he's not when you win the races, I win them when it's not bad here. So I'm in the morning here. So to leave, I had to be a really opportunity. Like I say, Sam, I'm go here, I'm happy here. So I'm not talking here. Yeah, and look at your success wherever you are for your success. That's strong. That's good. Okay, for the anticipate question of the day. Who is your biggest fan of your career over the years? Who was your biggest fan? My biggest fan? I think my family, my wife, my brother, my mom, I had that night when I lived alone. I miss quite from then. They were happy. My mom was actually crying because she saw a chair in my post how me. So I think my mom, my wife, my whole family. And I have a song. He's in yucky school. So he's one of my biggest fans too. He's super to be here in two years. He will get away and he become a jokey. So he's a big fan of mine. The next poke of cheek on the line, right? What's his name? And he's in Jackie's going Puerto Rico. 2023. 2023. Look at everybody. That's Boca chica otherwise known as bokeh. Leading Jackie at charlestown winner of 8 stakes the other night. "Lots going on between keeneland belmont and keeneland talk a little belmont. I watched some santita not a ton. But little bit leery portions of the saturday card but Pretty pretty glued to the the two big tracks this weekend. I guess you could say of course Obviously everything that happened this weekend. Nothing nothing more impressive than what arnaldo boca chica and jeff ranko did at charlestown arnaldo one eight stakes races. That i that. I read that right I know he was favourite on many in ronco. Obviously atop barn there at the charlestown. Wow that is. That's like beyond that accomplishment. I don't care when you you know. When russell baze won her broke the record everybody would always say. Oh you did golden gate. Field like yeah. I mean they're certainly you. Can you can state that. It's it's certainly not as difficult of a circuit to break into as a southern cal or new york or kentucky or whatever but winning races is not easy man. It is not easy until win eight stakes races in a night. Unbelievable so congratulations to our although on What i'm sure is a memorable career night. I saw that. I think the previous record for wins by a jock with seven and it was travis dunkel burger. There's a name. What was the last time we heard of travis. Uncle burger looks like his last mounts. Were in twenty fifteen. So that probably explains why. We haven't heard much from middle east on the racing front. But hope everything's okay for travis out there. I wish racing had a little bit more. Like you know a good information source to like. Find out stuff like that. But i guess you know. People's there was a time where i thought about doing a. Where are they now. Kinda series of interviews where i wanted to interview people who were maybe at the forefront of the racing world or at least prominent in racing ten twenty years ago and and kind of stepped away from it or not involved in it anymore but i always felt like where are they. Now is such disrespectful kind of thing. 'cause some of them have probably gone on lake better and happier things and they're glad not to be involved other probably not happy that they're not involved in therefore i don't know it just seemed like it would be kind of i don't know it. Just where are they now. Seems like like they're not doing anything good with their life or something like that which is of course. Not the case but Anyway we should probably dive into what's coming up or what's Happened in this past weekend. You have good string of guests lined up for this week. Three guests already booked. We'll have a horse player thursday guests. We will who else we talking to. Let's go through the list. What the heck we are gonna have on the show. I haven't decided who's going to tuesday. Who's gonna wednesday. But we will figure it out. Nick luck is going to join the show this week. Very excited to welcome in. Nikki was at keeneland for the big weekend. We'll certainly talk that. We'll talk some breeders cup with him as he obviously covers for. Nbc sports and stuff over in the uk involving bbc sport and racing tv etc etc. So looking forward. Having nick on the show Door gato who is a executive with the breeders cup is gonna join us this week looking forward to speaking with her. She's the executive vice president. Chief racing officers. We'll talk some breeders cup stuff with dora. She's been there. I believe since i haven't started my prep. Yep doing that tonight. But i think she's been there since the beginning of the breeders cup so we'll talk with door delgado this week and then never horse player. Thursday dan. silver is going to join us on the show or player handicapper. I believe worked in racing little bit another one. Who i haven't done my prep for yet because that's not happening till not interview. Danielle wednesday for thursday. So i got time. I'm a little bit of a procrastinator on prep stuff. I'll never wait till the you know like an hour before or something like that. But i almost always do it the night before the interview. But i'll often tell myself okay. I'm gonna do it at like six or seven and we'll get it done and then i can relax restaurant but then i'll sit in dink around on youtube for three hours or four hours her. Watch a movie or something and the next thing you know. It's ten o'clock. But i seem to do my best Interview research from like nine. pm to eleven pm. So that's what i'll do all that. That's the plan. But let's let's start with some of the weekend actual start with the saturday keelan card Obviously the Turf mile one of the centerpieces. I mean just a picard. The fraternity we'll work our way From the start of the card. Because i thought it was worth mentioning the early pick five came back like i think it was eighty six thousand eighty seven thousand and that was for five and a five correct. You got another three hundred and thirty seven for your four out of five combos in the big. The big upset in the sequence was sport pepper who was twenty four to one and was one of those long shots where yes was twenty four to one in a seven horse field but everybody else in the race was like two one three two one seven two two.

That's not what you're talking about you here to talk about rocket ships the future and elon. Musk again oh this video so jealous From what is is. It's the everyday astronaut channel on youtube. Three million view. Tim don's views three and a half. And and because got a multi our interview with elon. Musk not just with elon. Musk but on the grounds of spacex looking at the rockets. So it's not that uncommon to get inside of the hawthorn plant. I've done it but to get inside of this plant which is down at boca chica. Taxes is pretty much impossible so what happens down there. It's you know it's a fenced off reserve as you'd expect so there's dozens of people in the trade. The journalism trade that are either camped out the fence tend to serve and all that if they had my outfit on they might get in boca chica. I'm just saying to this base guys but the the it it it's free pr. They don't have to do any promotion right. Yeah but tim somehow gets this special access so he spends about two and a half hours with. Musk walking around the facility. Now this is the space age done different. You know these. They basically decide okay. What's the to build this rocket. We'll figure that out then. We'll put to put a big tent over it. They're very few concrete buildings there. They're all topic tents. Which i it's again. It's just enough to do the job right. It's very russian and a certain aspect except he's doing just really more silicon valley isn't it it's Yeah i guess so. Yeah it's just that's just get it done but the thing that was so amazing about this multi-party interview is you know tim's asking questions with this wandering kind of steady cam thing on his phone. I think musk. We see him a lot on stage. We see him doing joe rogan and that kind of stuff. This is really him. I mean you get a sense of his personality. He's a little distracted he's he kinda fades in and out kind. Kinda the absent minded professor is. That's always been his way on his saturday night. Live thing he said. Look i've got asperger's yeah so the expansion of that's true but yeah he's definitely you know he's different..

We appreciate your time here with us, Sherry on day I have not sent the question to Chris Martin Al sent it to him and He probably have no problems with it because he's not the full time producer. So what does he care if you end up saying that really bad word numerous times coming up shortly from now, Um, did Bob still there? Yeah. Did you see this during the Wall Street Journal about Space X buying up the Texas town? Yes, it's it's this little town called Boca Chica Village, and it's in Texas. And Elon Musk is being accused of being a big bully there because there are all these little houses that sell for generally there about you know 30 $40,000 a year, but he's offering people up to like $190,000 for these houses because this is the place where he launches and lands his rockets. So there's some debate over why he wants all this property. But the general consensus is that he wants just create this thing called Starbase, Texas, which is going to be an incorporated town that if he got control of it, he could pretty much do what he wants to do on DSA. Some people have gone along with this and sold their houses. But there are a few lone holdouts that say, no way we're not going anywhere. Not only did they move in and change the whole tone and tenor of the place, but they began to do 24 7 construction, which meant you know wall to wall people, Cars, traffic noise, lighting, you name it. There was no way to stay. I mean, it was just so stressful. I mean, it was really basically the guns of the head approach, not a lot of a negotiation on the price and a lot of thinly veiled threats of eminent domain. Huh? Huh? Huh? Boy, I don't think you do eminent domain on this case. They there's a whole bunch of legal stuff that they need to do. It's unincorporated, right? And besides negotiate, the house is worth $30,000. He's offering them. I think Maura than 30,000 for the homes. And he wants to put his employees in those homes that what he was like to have in the home around where the spaceship comes crashing back down to Earth. Exactly John that That's most of it. They think that that he wants to be able to create an environment where people can live and work in the same area. However, there's also a safety issue where you know he can clear some of these houses. I guess if they need more land, so it's it's twofold. He actually bought a house there and lives there, and the people that live across the street say that he bought it in 2019. He's there about once a week. It's a very modest house. It's about 1500 Square feet on guy. I think he said it appraised or they said it appraised at about $150,000 now because he's made some improvements on it, okay. I guess it's also safety sake. The fact that Ellen must spaceship goes up in outer space or goes wherever it needs to go turns around comes down and then it lands. Did you see it? It was the last week or something. Atlanta I know you don't care about space stuff. You already established that. But I think it comes down and it lands whole and complete and then just sits right down If something goes terribly wrong, Atlanta in somebody's house, not so good, so knock down the house that they don't need. This would be the best thing that ever happened to a puka book. Awoken Avila, right? I mean Boca, Chica. Yeah. Boca chica. Let the Boca chica I let it go somewhere else. Just let him take over or Turned into a tourist place that people want to come and see these things take off and land, but few people are are holding back on it. So Elon Musk is the bad guy there in Texas. But if you were to cast this is a movie, Let's play cast. This is a movie. You have to have a bunch of different characters who would be like the mayor or the sheriff or the chief of police in that town. That would be constantly kind of rubbing up against Elon Musk and stopping Ellen and basically telling him you know what the rules are in that town. Who would you cast it? If he were still alive? I'd say Brian Dennehy. Right now. Be hard to get Brian Dennehy because he is dead, right? You're not a lot of cast from the got the coffin. You have to cast a Catholic. You gotta pick a fight. Okay. Okay. I'll go on a totally different direction. Um, The guy from breaking bad, You know, the really, really good actor. What's his name? I sound like my mother. Now the guy that played in the thing you know, the guy was in the thing with the thing in the ball. Then he made the drugs. Brain print's fine, Christian. Exactly. Thank you. Bryan Cranston plays the kind of guy pushing back against alive. Last I have Kevin Durant playing Elon Musk. Uh, Chris, I need somebody to play the love interest for Elon Musk. He's she's the townie and then she eventually he falls in love with her on bond. And then she would Who always go with Jennifer Love Hewitt, George Jennifer Love Hewitt. Okay, Brian Dennehy's body Deep, badly decomposing body is also he's in the house. Just to throw him some work on then we need one more person that's working snidely behind the scenes with this whole thing double crossing people saying that they're against Elon Musk, but actually they are working for him. Who is that person working behind the scenes in the movie Mark Ruffalo. Mark Ruffalo. Okay, Good. I think we got ourselves a movie. Great. All right on. It's called Space town. All right. Who wants to go see it? I do. All right. There's one person who's gonna watch Elon Musk centering alive tonight or on Saturday. He's gonna be hosting your musk and I'm hosting SNL this week with musical guest Miley Cyrus. And I'm a wild cards this no telling what I might do. Same here rules, nothing. It's awesome. Other stations So your moms are gonna be here. Forget what I said. I will be good ish. Uh oh. Okay to be fair there, promo Zehr. Never very funny. No, we can. Here's what's new with you, Ilan. I stood a successful rocket launcher. Sweet. Wow. Well, I did my laundry. Yes, actually. No, I didn't. Okay. There you go. Already. By the way, they're all three of them were wearing masks. Hmm. Yeah, so this has been and I smell a publicity stunt like know whether this has been going on for weeks now where the cast of SNL has been upset about the fact that Elon Musk is is hosting and they think it's a wrong choice. And there's been some political banter about all of this, But there's another side of this. That says that you know Lauren Michaels can't keep catering. To the liberal left that they has to have a little more variety in his guest hosts. He's not the first business person that's been on SNL Donald Trump hosted in 2015. There've been a few other ones, but this one is a bold choice to say the least. But I think all of this chatter about always he had going to be okay. And is he going to be a, you know? Uh, Loose cannon and all of this, It's just to gin up people, you know. So the interests of the watch? Yes, right. The thing is always most frustrating is and I have to say something, having done a story on how they do that show. To be a professional actor and to do it is hard enough to be some guy that smokes tons of marijuana, injects an awful lot of biotech of talks into your entire face and then makes rockets flying to space and come back down. Uh, they right at the hours. It shows 90 minutes long. They write almost 2.5 hours worth, and then.

SpaceX Starship: Elon Musk responds to impressive render of future launch
"Still sitting on the edge of my seat wanting to see the first starship launch. I'm going to go with fantastical. Article spacex starship elon. Musk response to impressive. Render of future launch and the cool thing twitter. He goes right to the twitter folks. He loves the queen thing about this. Well actually. It's an inverse article. But i did pick up and a lot of the news. I pick up his twitter The cool thing about this article is that i went through and i wrote it all out and then we skipped it for like four shows and you know what it's still current which is so cool but this this twitter artists. This artist should shared his his stuff on twitter. His his name is nieto pork. I'm not sure what inspired that matter. He's a new. He's a new pig. He's a new pig. Or maybe he liked the matrix neo. But isn't neil. I like supreme or something to i. Don't know well you was pretty supreme. Yeah so he is a like a digital artist and he put together both pictures of the engines the starship all sorts of images of it flying and doing its belly flop and it is. It's very cool. I totally recommend will put this in the in the show notes and this time we really will because i think we're getting our s. h. It together so we can do this. But these renders are pretty impressive and to the to the point along actually responded to him and said that he thought it was quote. More great renderings exclamation point and then after that of course the press picked it up and it went wild and helps to educate everyone about the launch. And there's even a good video on youtube that you can watch to show the sort of launch and bellyflop maneuver and man. I still can't wait to see this thing.
