"Dot com slash G a B indeed dot com slash gab. Terms and conditions apply. Need to hire, you need, indeed. All right, enough Bali, how about some quick hits instead? Go go. Mattresses are back on top of the Premier League as they beat a depleted West Ham three nil. Jules that took a while to get going. But that's why you're going to praise David Moyes's defensive setup. Yeah, I think so. Yes. I think the defendant well, they played with the bag 5. They had everybody I know Declan rice, no suit check. No, no. Yeah, they did really well know I get defensively, but they had avenging Angela. Yeah, but so the setup is great and I think MSN's positioning, especially depending if it's a low block or a meat block with a bit more in the 5 or in the four in midfield. Great, but so 45 minutes you're good with the pose, but apart from that you're good. And then just like that, you throw it away down giving away a stupid free cake or banana I'm sorry I know it's your major covering everybody literally like and then once it's one L then it was always going to be. It's a set piece and then it's transition. One of the best teams on tenth piece is they should not but it is concerned for did you see some little flaws in city or no okay, just check it out and it's called these 35th Premier League gold breaking the record set by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer. He has 51. This isn't Gavin old competitions. But give some context, please. So this is the context, right? And he's got, he's going to be top score with 35 or more goals this season. So I looked back through the history of the English top flight because football didn't begin in 1992 and saw how many people have actually scored more than 35 goals in a season and been top score. And okay, it's happened, I think 13, 15 times, right? Well, what's interesting, most recently in 1967, so already, there's one data point, right? We're talking more than 50 years ago, is the last time it's happened. I'm guessing by the time by the end of the season, you could probably have scored a few more goals. Obviously everybody knows Dixie dean's got the most of 60 goals. But what I think is interesting is how, I mean, these goals go numbers are from another time. Most of these guys, it was in the 30s when people scored a lot of goals. And then some in the 50s, the people who've done it, the only ones I'd heard of are Jimmy greaves, John Charles, Ted Drake, mostly because there's a statue of him at arsenal and he later managed Chelsea to the first title. And obviously Dixie died. These other dudes like, I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with Joe Smith or his son, Bobby Smith, WG Richardson, I believe, is WG grace's nephew. I'm not familiar with this, right? Yeah. But to give you the ridiculous context of what this means of what he's achieving this year. Incredible. Incredible. But most other penalty gives never pull a one zero win over Fulham that sees them consolidate 5th place, but Jules Michael Silva isn't happy with the officiating. And now Issa diop on Darwin Nunez call. Yeah, for the penalty. He's right. Yeah, I think he's right. They got a job. Yeah? I mean, you could watch it from every angle on every slo-mo, every replay, whatever, I'm not sure there was contact between job and Darwin Nunez. I don't know exactly how much contact his leg back to kick the ball and the guy throws himself in front of his leg if there was. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't know. But he's the job who is my boy, should have never been in that position anyway. You should not take that risk when you are well in the game. But I love John Alexander Arnold's performance again to go back to the discussion we had in the last show. Napoli did not become serial champions on Wednesday night because last year defeats a swallow two nil. It's only a matter of time, right? Yeah, they kick off in a couple hours tonight away and they only need a point. No, it'll be the weekend. And Barcelona win one, yet again. This time against us as soon as Jules you impressed. No, not really. No, but it's a win is to let win is the Georgia Alba gold. It's another one in the 11th. I think a 12 this season is another clean sheet. It's incredible. And I think the front page of sport was the champions goal or the league goal if you want, because that clearly sets them very well. I mean, we knew it before, but they're going to definitely champions Roma drew one one away to Monza and Gabriel and Mourinho had plenty to say about the referee of the game. Yeah, so he was unhappy with Selleck getting sent off for a second year late in the game, but he said, look, the referee isn't the reason that we drop points. He did not influence the game. He dropped again. But he said, he is the worst referee I have encountered in my entire career. He doesn't show empathy, doesn't communicate, technically he's bad, and he said something, which I think will undoubtedly earn him of charge. You can't go and say stuff like that. But he also said something which I think is really creepy. He said, you know, the problem is we're not Roma aren't the sort of club that go and get bad reps to recuse themselves, right? We don't veto bad refs when they assign them to us. They'll give us somebody else, which used to happen quite regularly in the past and happens here in England too in the past. But maybe we should be. I know you shouldn't be. That's not, you should hide you except the ref and not go on and on about it. And a bit of a rift. Some people suggest between him and the club. Jules warmer. Yes. He also revealed that he was wearing a wire. So that there would be a record of his dialog with the rest in case he got him fairly sent off, given what happened with Jürgen Klopp recently, is this the future? Wires and body counts. Please, I mean, this is box office popcorn stuff. I want it Conway to see it's not going to happen. He did obviously remember the incident and the fourth referee and we've explained it many, many times. I would love to see it. Body cams. I would love to see you. And how they talk to each other. We're 16 and moving to fourth place with Atalanta melanoma two points behind a new V three ahead gap simmering zagi is vindicated. I am vindicated. I've been telling you when you're dropping points. They're playing well, they're attacking, they're doing things lauter do I bet you love the little big for his goal and everything. I don't know if it's going to continue, but they are playing really, really well and they're playing well even when they were dropping points. Yeah, that's true. Two goals and two assists for your boy Antoine Griezmann as a political Madrid romp past cardi 5 wine and are now second Jules, I think they're playing some of the most exciting football in Europe right now. They are gavi was for this is not very good. We know that, but still they are sometimes difficult to play against, or they make it hard for you, but they got blown away in the first minutes of the game. I mean, the first got by Griezmann, but the second goal, especially the ones with lema in the boxes. It's amazing. I've seen them doing back here and one twos and movement. I'm like, what is going on? I'm like, wow. And they score, I didn't try to score another goal. Even more right, I mean, more I missed some big chances, of course you did. Also scored. It's great. And I know you dismissed me when I sat down Monday, but I think then if they finished second ahead of ra Madrid, I think this is huge, even you might not for them. Psychologically and everything. The second half of their season is amazing. They are the best team in Spain right now. They're better than Barcelona the better than run Madrid. In the second half of the season, no question. No question. So, you know, this is, although, putting my cooler on. Wayne Barcelona played the best team in Spain. Madrid, they beat them. Which was a good game. A big blunder and a Danica hard red card help Larry beat rabbit with tune in on Tuesday night and all but lock

"I'm Raleigh James and yes that's rubber band man the spinners and John and Covington Kentucky last night called it he and his wife are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary this Sunday and that was the song that played for their first day. So along with everybody else in the group so I'm happy happy anniversary congratulations, John. 2040 years on Sunday. So yes, the spinners. And of course, appropriate we play the spinners. Bobby Smith of the spinners would have turned 87 this week. Born in 1936 in Detroit and sang lead on a lot of wonderful, wonderful stuff as far as as far as that goes. And Henry fambrough also, yeah, one of the original spinners the last original retired and 85 years old. So a life well lived, I think he's still going to be involved with the group, but he's not going to be touring and who could blame him. Sit back and enjoy yourself. So John said, well, what I really want is I want to hear the real dawn steel. All right, so here's the deal. As far as top 40 jocks, I think that Don Steele was the absolute ultimate. And it's hard to pick one for all sorts of reasons. And of course, this is not to cast dispersions at wonderful guys like Robert W Morgan. In fact, I used to say that Robert could read his grocery list over a record intro and women would swoon. He was that good. He really was. So not taking anything away from him whatsoever. But when it came to just pure top 40 radio, I don't think anybody surpassed steel. And the thing about him, he was just the nicest guy I thought a lot of people thought he was plum crazy and I guess on some level he was, but he had a childlike innocence about life. And I know anybody who knows him said, Raleigh, do you know the stories? Yeah, I know them all. But the bottom line is he did, and he loved words and would just, they'd roll around on his tongue, and he'd just get on the air and the difference between him and everybody else. And I shouldn't say everybody else, because the guy like Morgan really put his heart and soul into it, no doubt about it. But a person like me, no, my job was otherwise interrupting my life. I never took it seriously. I never cared about any of it. And that's sadly the sad truth. Never did anything whatsoever. And in the meantime, Steele was just so intense. Everything he did in that studio, there was an intensity that you could cut it with a knife. And I have no idea. I just pulled an air chick off the shelf. I have no idea if this is one of the best or one of the worst, but this definitely is steel. Can actually double

"He just sits there trying and it's smiling. Cover regular times absolutely classic definition of recovery. And it was not a hit. But the original was Stephen bishop, of course, who wrote it. Stephen bishop released it. Well, here comes Kenny rankin. In 1977, the footage put it on an album. And yeah, I remember as a music director in North Carolina at the time. And I picked the Kenny rankin version, of course, so you knew it was going to die. But Stephen bishop, nonetheless had the hit and the writers royalties and all that kind of stuff with Kenny rankin. I thought did a lovely job with that. All right, so back to back to wonderful WBAI, whether we want to be or not. And John. So yes, you know, I think by the way, I think they've been on their fundraisers, having trouble with where they're located or what they're doing. At least since the mid 70s, whether they're losing locations or tower sites or whatever. That's sort of the hallmark for. Yeah. I was kind of going to ask for your what you thought. And so, but it's like, well, I'm a grown man. I can make my own decisions. I think, you know, I'm not wealthy, but it's the same time I'm not hurting either. So I think I'm going to send them a money for a little something. Well, here's the deal on that. Obviously, listener supported is the most democratic possible process. If it's something you like to listen to and it's something you want to have on the air, absolutely support them. So I would never try to make that decision for anybody else because the beauty of listener supported radio is it's just that. Now, of course, in some cases, it's also you get a lot of corporate donations and you get a lot of political leanings, but that's a shame but true. But in the pure sense, if it's something you enjoy, absolutely support it. Yeah, well, I hope you take this for the compliment that it's meant to be. But you're so smart and it's like I really do respect your opinion on things. So yes, but then again, like I say, hey, you know, while I was on hold, it's like, I don't need her approval. Of course I didn't do it. Absolutely. And as far as if I knew something about it, for instance, like if I knew the funds were going to be improperly used, well, I'd tell you that. And I don't. But assuming that it's not a scam and you're not being taken other than that, I don't think there's anything better or anything more personal than you supporting with your dollar, something you enjoy. So if you like it, go for it. I appreciate it. One more thing to ask. Please. Would you Sunday is going to be my wife and I's 40th anniversary? Congratulations. Well, thank you anyway. The first song is for at the wedding. It's the reception. It's always for the couple And chief, we have slow one. Well, we want our people to have a really good time and get that message across. So after about two minutes of this song, I told the disc jockey, I still told the Jack I said invite everybody at else. Two minutes into the song. Anyway, it's rubber band now. Okay. The spinners, of course. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, for that reason. I'll be happy to play that. In fact, a couple things of note regarding the spinners this week, Bobby Smith, Lee singer, would have turned 87 Monday. And I loved the spinners. Yeah. I have a regret that I never did see them. Well, no, they're terrific. And you know, a number of things. I thought, I thought their first big hit on VIP, it's a shame, was the best thing they ever did. But yeah, so, and then we discovered that Henry, the last remaining spinner retired Monday. So sure, we'll play rubber band man for you. All right, I appreciate it. Thank you so much. Thanks a lot. I appreciate the call. So 888-876-5593 is 88, 88 rally. And what does that do? Jeff is the second time caller if he's still with us. I hope so, so, Jeff, are you there? No. Most we hear. Yes, yes, absolutely. There you are. You're living and breathing and all that. I'm glad you called WG and what's up? Yeah, well, that Kenny rankin, the great Kenny rack and I saw him perform here in new magical voice. He hadn't speaking of covers. He was so great at doing his versions of many classics. Oh, yeah. And those weren't covers that, you know, obviously, but on and on, time wise. That was an absolute cover. Stephen bishop comes out. Here's Kenny rankin a week later. Oh yeah, he was so great, but I think smoking did him in. But I agree. He was wonderful. So many his version of peaceful, just great stuff. Oh, yes, yep. And some beetle songs. Oh, yeah, great, great voice. And that core that was saying something about Don McLean, I actually worked doing A&R and national promotion at Jimmy owner's record label here in New York City, millennium records, we had a big hit with Don McLean in 1981 doing his version of a Roy Orbison class at crying. Yes, absolutely. Absolutely. That's true. So yeah. Yeah, Don tech. Yeah, that was a big hit for us. And what else could I want to mention? Oh, someone was mentioning about that book by Steve post playing in the FM band. Steve was cutting edge radio host on WBAI here in New York City. Later became the station manager for the first radio station I worked for WCW college radio station at CW post Long Island university and if you do a Google search, you'll see an article from December 1st, 1971, Steve was thrown off of the air at WCW because of some obscenities, so if you do a Google search and see a New York Times article about Steve post at WCW radio in his problems there. Well, I'm going to check that out. Yeah, some millennium, were you there from the start? Millennium, right after Star Wars. Okay, so the mikko record, yeah, that would have been summer of 77. Sure. So I was doing commercial radio in Texas at a free form station in Corpus Christi, KNC and which was named after WN C and the classical station out of New York City. And then I came back to New York and I was a big fan of Jimmy einer and the records that he produced at the time of the raspberries and lighthouse and so forth. So yes, I worked there and we had a big hit with crawling and then a few years later, one of the acts that we had on millennium that

"It. It's legal now. It is. You got an endowment that I think could buy you probably a national championship team. But you don't do that. No, and that endowment serves a very important purpose to the school and that's far beyond me. What we do talk about though is the enriching experience of the four year we all have graduate school, professionalized graduate school here at Princeton, no med school, no law school, we really love and dive in on the four year undergraduate experience, the relationships professors and, you know, I know you could I know your sense of humor a bit. You know, you'd be like, well, show me, where's the money? But we really dive in on the experience, the whole experience for the student athlete. And I think that's enriching in its own way. Now, look, like we're in the sweet 16. So there's some opportunities for our guys going into this weekend that they can take advantage of. We're talking to do the Princeton head coach, Mitch Henderson. You grew up though in Kentucky. Weren't you in Lexington? I was. Did you grow up in Kentucky? Did you want to go to Kentucky? Well, I grew up in Vincent, Indiana. There's a junior college there called Vincent's junior college. Then we moved when I was 12 to Kentucky and patino was the coach. And believe it or not, on my junior high basketball team was Keith Willard, who was the head coach at Maryland, Gigi Smith, Bobby smith's kid, who was just was at high point and Darren van horn, who was the head coach at northern Kentucky to all these Willard and Smith dad's room, consistent with Pitino. I mean, everybody wanted to play, this was 90 1989 90 when that really good Kentucky team was forming in an uptick in duke to the final game. So yeah, I wanted to go, I wanted to play for Pitino. Did you cry after duke beat, Kentucky and the tournament with Christian leitner shot? Yeah, you know what's funny? I was at Princeton on my visit at the NASA land when later made that shot. I didn't cry, but I was so in love with that team. Richie farmer, Darren fellow house. Sean Woods made a runner to put them up one. I love that team. And I used to go on the driveway and practice that Sean Woods runner all the time. I hated leitner. It's like, you know, I was a crime. What if leitner said, hey, coach, I'd like to talk to your tigers before they play creighton. I would gladly welcome that. You know, I love that. Did you see that? I hate Christian leitner. I thought that was great. And you know, I hated him because I was a kid. I didn't know anything. Different, but he was a killer. I would love to have, I would love to have him talk to the guys. Not everybody loved him, but he was in such a great basketball player. You know, you get in these moments and John calipari talked about this after the loss to Kansas state. He said, not everybody's built for this. And he was talking about players. How do you know if your players or player is or isn't ready for a big moment like this? We were at darmouth best way I can answer it. February 11th, we had a bad game. And I went into the locker room and I lost it and you know as much as I can lose it and I was like, you know, we got back to Princeton and I was like, don't ever let that happen again, you know, and you're what you're thinking about in that moment is we don't have it. We don't have it. And then, and then we did all of a sudden we did, and February, and that's, and then this weekend, it took on a whole new level, all of a sudden we were close with Arizona. We didn't lead until a minute left in the game. And the guys they were just chatting nonstop. We would come back to the huddle and the guys were just like, we got this. We got this. And it was unanimous all the way around. It was just constant chatter, and if we had lost the game, I would have been so proud of them, but then it took on a whole other level and it's just grown during the Missouri game. They were on fire. Not just making shots. They were having the best time ever. Totally responding to the moment. Okay, be honest with me with family members filling out a bracket. How many had you beating Arizona to start out? Just my ten year old son. But he has us losing in the sweet 16. I mean, this morning at breakfast, he goes, I'm regretting that decision. Well, it's a great ride. Have fun, and do you have your speech ready for Friday? Yeah. Not quite ready. You got anything in mind. Oh gosh. Maybe you go her Brooks, the U.S. Olympic hockey team. Yeah. Yeah. You're going to remember this for the rest of your life. Come on, why not? I think there's some good belief. And thinking, why not us? And I do love that slogan. Why not? Yeah. And it's great. You got to believe in yourself before everybody else is going to believe in you. And that's what got us here, honestly. So why not keep that going? Don't try to be something you're not. Is why not us? Is that proper grammar? I went to Dayton. So I'm not the right person. I'm in coaching. But you got into Princeton. I did. I did by the skin of my teeth. What were your SAT scores? I don't remember. And everybody remembers. Perfect. No. I was on a show the other day and they were like, hey, we knew they were not too long and they were like, have you heard you had a 4.5 at Princeton and I was like, off by several points. But I'm really happy to be here and I work at the best school in the country, Dan. And I'm so thrilled to be representing us. Just remember, coach sees get degrees. Yeah. A friend of mine used to say, D equals diploma. Play some D against creighton. Segue. They got some guys who can score 30 on you. Congrats so far. Good luck. Okay, thank you very much. "Got some good news to tell the church this morning brother Howe's sister Sue joined the church and normally I don't I stay right in here when someone joins the church and usually one of the last ones to go and welcome a man, but I just felt compelled to go to the back door after the morning service, which I did. I went on to the back door and was grading those that were leaving and we've been having some visitors lately Bobby Smith who worked my dad for me built a route for me in his family been visiting on Sunday mornings. On the way out the door, Bobby leaned over and he whispered in my ear, he said, well, John, please pray for my wife. I said, I have been and I will continue. And in just a little bit, here she comes and she looked at me and I could tell she was being crying, she said, I need to talk to you. I said, certainly. And I said, anytime, I said, right now, she said, yeah, right now. So I had brother clay coming in here and getting this Debbie and so we all went over there in the side in the fellowship home. And I did not know this about her, but she was raised by an orthodox Jew. And raised in a Jewish family and observed the Passover and all of that. We discovered and she told me she said, I've been really listening to all that you've had to say. And she said, I feel like if I go any further with this, I'm turning my back on what I've been raised in in my Judaism. And I said, no, no, you will never turn your back. On your Judaism, if you trust Jesus Christ, and I went from the Old Testament. We looked at as F 53, she had her Bible there and we went into Isaiah 53, and I said, look at this, what your Bible says about Jesus Christ. He was wounded for our transgressions. He was bruised for iron equities of chastisement of our peace, was upon him and he did all this for you. And then I went into the New Testament about he was your guard, manifest, and he is your Masai. And she sat there and she listened. I mean, she was hanging on every word. Debbie lab both were back and forth with her and I said, I said, it's so very easy. If you would trust Jesus Christ, long story short, she called upon the name of Jesus Christ. Right after services holding the guest say and her husband is what is he in some kind of rehab? And they're not able to come on Sunday nights and all, but you pray for what was her name? Sydney. Her name is Sydney Smith, Barbie and Sidney Smith, but Sydney is a converted junior. I've always wanted to lead a due to the lord and had the opportunity this afternoon. And that's good news. From the far country of what the lord did in her heart today. Let's take our bibles and turn to second chapter number 6. So they can create the chapter number 6. Just a few verses of scripture that the lord has dealt with my heart about just of late in a matter of fact, in my personal Bible time, I ran up on these verses and it's not converses that I was in read normally reading, but something I was looking at led to these verses and I've read these verses and when I did it just kind of caught my attention to my heart, I went back and reread them and just try and like Zach told us this morning that when we study our Bible, we need to not just read a verse and go on to the next we need to stop and we need to meditate upon what that verse is saying to us and how it would apply to our lives and I was doing that with these three verses that were going to be reading tonight and I pray that they impact your life just as they impacted my life and pray that they're working your heart as deep as they have in my heart. This old stand on the rating of God's word in second print his chapter number 6 I'm going to begin this will not be the last time that we deal with this. I want to stay with this subject forth as many times as we need to because I feel impressed of the lord to do so and want to try to want to try to equip your life, educate and equip your life in the subject that we're going to be dealing with tonight. And I'm going to simply entitled this this thought personal evangelism, personal evangelism, and that'll be the heading of this series that we're going to be dealing with and what we're going to deal with in a more common phrase is so wind. How to lead somebody to Jesus Christ. How do you personally take the word of God by your knees with some one and lead them to the lord Jesus Christ? I believe we fail as a church a lot of times to train people in this area, and this is one of the most, as I was preaching this morning the most important thing for anybody's life is for them to be saved and know that they're safe, but we need personal workers that can sit with somebody and show them from the word of God different things from the word of God just like we did with the Sydney this afternoon being able to go into the Old Testament show her some things

"Can't see a dog on WGN radio. I'm Raleigh James. I can't believe I said I don't know if I got this record. I don't have it. I play it on gauge. All right, number three on the R&B charts bubbled under on the pop charts and the pop version they released it twice doesn't have Gerald alston's soliloquy at the beginning of it. It just starts at the music part. But of course the R&B part included that soliloquy. And it was interesting because that was recorded in Macon in the same studio that James Brown did a lot of his recordings and it was it was terrific. It was the first top ten record on the R&B side they ever had and it got to number three and how Neely and bob Riley and Bobby Smith did that and bob Riley was a promotion guy, actually. And Bobby Smith owned the studio and Macon and a 1 million 1 was New York and one life to live was making. And it was just great. I think they did some cleanup work in Nashville and blue was talking about that. He said, yeah, we did some stuff in national, but not Memphis. And Neely Riley and Smith were the in-house producers in Macon. And blue did the arrangements and he said, well, I don't think we ever got any credit for that. And that was the deal in hell nearly had been a vice president of king and I think he was struggling. It's starting at the time. So it was a great record. I can't believe it was like, oh, I don't know. Yeah, I'm just too old to exist anymore. What's happened? So 888-876-5593. We'll get to Nick and Baltimore. What's up, Nick, talk to me. Hey, I'm doing good. How are you doing? All right. Well, other than my mind left me, that's all other than that I'm fine. Mine left me a long time. Yeah, exactly. Boy, that's great stuff you play. Yeah. I haven't called in a while. I've been listening. I really appreciate the show. So I had a question about KR VN and Lexington, Nebraska. Yeah, Lexington, Nebraska. Lexington. Yes, yes. The big, it was originally the Big Ten ten. And the 8 8 8 8 now. That's what I wanted to ask of him. When did they move? I always thought they were at 8 80. Well, no, I think that 72. And what happened was this, by the way, is owned by farmers. We talk about clear channels being really just so important to people in the white space and the farmers and all that. Well, this was owned by a cooperative of farmers and ranchers. And in 1948, I guess 1951, they put on K or BN. And it was on ten ten and it had 10,000 watts. But in 1972, they moved it to 8 80 because they got the 50,000. Crying words. And Joe Scarborough, you know him from the morning joke on MSNBC. He says, look, Joe Biden didn't commit any crimes with the document, and you know, this is what I feel is happening now in the media where they put all of their stock in this most recent, let's get Trump, right? Where everybody's up in arms, including my barista, my Cuban barista, who says that, you know, no, no, no, the big key difference. Trump still, you know, we should firing squad, right? But Joe Biden, oh, it was just a simple mistake. Clerical error. And what Scarborough is saying here about Biden, to me, makes all the sense in the world. And I rarely agree with him, but I think he's saying this because now everybody's changing their tune and trying to soften their approach because they realize you know what? This this is in as big a deal as we thought. You know, it was a big deal when Trump was the only guy doing it. He stole the documents. He was selling the nuclear code. Have you heard about the nuclear codes lately anybody? Is anybody still saying that? Is anybody still talking about obstruction of death justice? I don't think so. But listen to what Joe Scarborough had to say. Listen, if Joe Biden committed a crime, charging. If Donald Trump committed a crime, charge him, that's pretty simple. Guess what? Joe Biden didn't commit a crime. They found the documents they turned it back. Donald Trump most likely did commit a crime and it's straightforward so it was Merrick Garland or anybody the DoJ are winging their hands. They're not just doing a disservice to America. They're doing a disservice to justice. They're doing a disservice to the rule of law. If they, in any way, are distracted by this ground noise. Again, let me say. If in their investigation of Joe Biden, they find anything illegal, charging. We're a nation of laws, not a nation of rulers who are above the law. I know Donald Trump thinks he is. He's not. Okay. So he tries to clean it up at the end, but essentially here it looks like damage control, right? To me, it seems like damage control from Joe Scarborough, because Joe Scarborough and a lot of folks in the media, there was a few people on CNN the other day with making the same thing saying, look, in effect, this whole case has fallen apart. Even if it doesn't fall apart with the DoJ, it's falling apart in the court of public opinion, because unless you're just an avid Trump hater, which, you know, I'm finding that there's a good amount of them out there, but by and large, there are a bunch of people that are like, look. I didn't like him because you know he tweeted this and he did that and his bravado and he's just blah blah blah, but look, they look at their pockets, they look at their 401k, they look at everything and they say, things were a lot better. Just three short years ago, so I think more and more people are inclined to miss Trump. And I see those interviews, you know, man on the street type of interviews all the time. On social media and whatnot where people are out there saying, you know, what do you think about Donald Trump now? And they're like, and you also still see somewhere people are saying, look, we need tolerance. We need love. We got to embrace the other side. And then I said, what do you think about so and so like, oh, he should be hung. You know what I'm saying? Hold on a second. What happens to tolerance and love? So these are some of those things that I think will continue to see from the media where they say, look, look, it was a simple mistake. And if Trump made the same simple mistake, then he should get the same thing as Biden. There's probably worse things he's done and they'll have to focus on something else. Maybe they'll go back to January 6th. Maybe they'll switch gears to something else. Or they'll just have to find an entirely new shtick against Trump. Either way, I think this is the end of the attack on Trump. I could be wrong. But that's what my gut tells

"Delivered his I have a dream speech WTO sandy gazelle spoke with a Washington resident, danella brockington, who was their 59 years ago. She was just ten years old. My mother took me. She was adamant that she go and thought it would be a great idea for me to go with her. And I love tagging along with her, so it was no big deal for me. We often went to places together. So, you know, she just said, she had to be there. It was going to be a historic moment. And she needed to be there in person. What do you remember about that day? The crowds, the speakers. We were kind of further back, but we managed to inch our way forward and people were pretty nice about letting us move forward since they knew, you know, clearly I couldn't see above the crowd and my mother wasn't much taller than me. So we kind of worked our way towards the front. So we found a vantage point where we could actually see the stage and we were able to hear. I don't know whether there were actually speakers, but we were able to hear the speeches. Do you remember your reaction? What did you think of what you were hearing? Well, I knew I was going to hear doctor Martin Luther King. And I knew about him. I had no idea about the impact he would have on a crowd that size, but so I had some expectations. It just, you know, when I actually heard it, I had no idea. Like I said, how impactful it would be and how well received it would have been for a crowd that size. So I knew at that point that I was actually part of some very important moment in history. Again, at ten years old, it was just a parent. I had no idea how big a point in history it was, but it seemed like a very important time. Next hour, danella brockington talks about what that experience has meant to her throughout her life. Would you move for a new job? What if that job was on Mars? That's the premise of no place to go at signature theater. "Forget it. There will be zero deference paid to that from this point on. I don't want to hear it, I don't want to hear it from conservative commentators. You say what you want. I'm a believer in free speech. You do you. You'll get zero respect for me if you believe that. You know, you're just doing their job. What job? What job were you given? You were given instructions to raid a former president's House by his just the political opponent. He just had in the last election and bells and whistles didn't go off. Just to be clear, you didn't say to yourself, I saw this in a movie once, and this didn't end well. You didn't put two and two together? The guy's been out of office, closing on two years now. They've been already at the house. You're telling me it's about a national archives presidential records act request right before an election. You're like, hey man, I'm just doing my job. No, you're not doing your job. You are actively partaking in the destruction of the constitution republic. And that's a fact. Listen, I gave up everything to do this. There was never any guarantee I was going to have any TV show or radio show guarantees ever even at all. Forget about a guarantee. I left everything behind. Again, I'm not looking for a cookie. Not looking for anybody's participation trophy. I'm simply telling you the truth. I was a 12 year agent. I was not eligible to get a pension. I didn't leave some people say, oh, you're tired. He's got a government pension. I have zero government pension. Nothing. I walked away halfway done with my career with the hard part over. I was done with the presidency's details, 5 years. I was finished. That's the hardest part. I was done. The rest is you're just coast in there after that. Nothing is as hard as that. And I walked away to run for a U.S. Senate seat in a deep blue state of Maryland with no money, no support and zero contacts at all. So forgive me if I'm not here getting ready to genuflect in front of you like, hey man, I'm just doing my job. I need this. No, you know what you need. You need a functioning constitutional republic. That's what you need, which you just took part in destroying. Everybody involved in this. The minute The White House changes hands, should be terminated immediately. Don't pass go. Do not collect $250 or whatever the hell you collected monopoly. I haven't played it since I'm 9. You get nothing. You get zero zip. The FBI's credibility is finished, folks. Absolutely shattered. Shattered at this point. Whatever shred of credibility as an institution, you think you had left. It's now all gone. The decision making from the top down for Merrick Garland to Christopher wray, filtering through the sax a sax, the ADs and the DAD and the FBI. The decision making chain is clearly populated now by people who think politics first law enforcement the United States Constitution second. You know, I was proud of my job, man. I was, and I used to train new students in the academy down in prince George's county, Maryland. And you know when I'd watch the students graduate, we had this one kid. He was an army ranger. And, you know, we signed everything with the URL tw and he was the class president. He was given a speech at the graduation. It was like 24 kids. Well, my kids, I was some of them are older than me. 24 students in the class. And you know, he said at the end, then he was a really passionate guy. We'll call him a Tom. And he said at the end, he had, you know, he fought for his country. Did some time in a combat situation. He said at the end of the speech you know, God bless America. And all those who defend her. And that second part really, really stung me. I got goosebumps. I don't know why. I know it's not, you know, when I'm writing poetry here. I'm kind of rough around the edges. I don't pretend to be the most gifted orator of all time, but I can tell you what, I'm certainly passionate about what I'm talking about. And when he said that, I don't know why. It was just a graduation speech. It was nothing like incredible that happened before, but it was a good speech. And he said, God bless America and all those who defend their. Who's defending her now. Who's defending her now? You really think in the FBI? If you were part of this raid last night, that you're defending her, you really believe that. Let me tell you some if you really believe that you need to seek a qualified mental health professional right away to talk you out of whatever psychopathological disorder you're unfortunately functioning from right now or malfunctioning from right now. Their credibility is tattered. Folks, there's some solutions moving forward. Maybe not solutions, but maybe pathways to a solution is kind of a more precise way to say it. Number one, everybody involved in this raid. In the 2022 elections, if we take the house and 2024, if we win the presidency, everyone involved in this raid who touched this, who approved it, who sat around and did nothing, who knew about it and did nothing Everyone involved needs to be fired. Everyone, everyone. Fired, terminated, never to come back into government again. You should be what we used to call in the Secret Service a DNA. Do not admit. If you're expelled from a foreign country, it's called a PNG persona non grata. You find a job somewhere else. You're not finding it in the government. You clearly can not be trusted. Now, if Donald Trump were to get elected in 2024, he's got, I would guess. I've said this before, so forgive me for repeating it, but it's an important point given light of what happened yesterday. I would guess he has about a three month window. About a hundred days roughly, a hundred days where he can do massive personnel changes. After that hundred days, the shock of the moment, you know, it's a fog of war moment. I don't like battle analogies. But when you get into a pursuit and you're a cop and someone shoots at you, there's just like two, three, four, 5 second period where you can't believe someone just took a shot at you and you're running, thinking like, I can't believe that guy just shot at me, right? That's what happens with the media too. When Donald Trump hopefully wins in 2024. There's going to be this period after the inauguration where there's so much going on. There's so much going on that you can hit them with so many personnel changes that the minute they complain about the firing of Bobby Smith, Tony Smith gets the axe and Joey bag of donuts gets the axe too. And then when they start cleaning, complaining about those three, you fire a hundred more people. A total house cleaning, nothing less. Now, the left nose they're in trouble. Where do I go? You all listen every day. You know

"Just recently. So we'll see. Now with that in mind, Dolly in Chicago knows a bumper. All right Dolly, why'd you hear you know? Hi, Wally go, how's it going tonight? All right, how about you? I'd like to guess one of the bumpers. Now he's gone. I may be wrong on this one, but it could be Bobby Smith and the dream girls. Yeah, now he's gone. Absolutely 1962 on big top, you're absolutely right. Woohoo. Yes, yes, yes, and I'm very impressed. You're probably the only person listening who knows Bobby Smith. So that is impressive. I like the owe me too. I like mister fine and walk on into my heart. She had a lot of stuff I like. Yeah. Yeah. All right, well hang on, we'll get that address and don't hold your breath. All right, so how nice? Well, Dolly impresses the heck out of me there. Knowing her Bobby Smith and like I say, Bobby, it was great, mister fine was a wonderful record and walking into my heart and missed all heart and made you on and on. And yes, yes, absolutely. Now he's gone indeed. All right, Eric is the first time collar and Joshua tree, California. Thanks for calling Eric. Welcome to WGN. Hey Riley, I love your show. I have a guest for your trivia question. Oh, good. Dining and dashing. Oh my God. I have no idea what that percentage is. But yes, it happens. No. That is it. Okay. And I had one more question. I told John, I said, what can you tell me about Barry levesque? Absolutely. I loved Betty levit. And in fact, she wrote an interesting book. You can read all about her in that book. And she. Had a lot of opportunities. And unfortunately, not any that really worked out for her. But she still at it to this day I saw her newer videos. I mean, she's great. Yeah, no, absolutely. And she's been doing this over 50 years. So yeah, and was she on Atlantic Records? Oh, yes. Well, yes, no, the Atlantic thing. She asked to be let out of that and I remember that Jerry Wexler said, well, you're going to see how cold it is out there. And oh my God. Yeah, unfortunately, she saw how cold it was out there. So yeah, but she's very underrated. And can you play one of her songs? One of these days when you get to it? I'll play one for you tomorrow. Cool. Absolutely. Yeah, no, that's great. Thank you. Okay, thanks for calling. All right, cool being bye. And of course, you know, what she's most famous for is probably my man. He's a loving man. And interestingly, that gal from Gainesville, who was so good too, covered that. And she's a blue eyed soul singer, but she was just a great version of my man, he's loved man. And it was terrible because the race itself and all that it wasn't pretty for. But yes, Betty and that, by the way, SBE, TT, YE, yes. Betty Jo Haskins was her name originally, but she started out on lupine and then was on Atlantic for a couple of records. I just went to Kala, we could tell you stories, but that's for another time. And then to Karen. Well, we know she didn't get royalties there. That's another story. And on and on, it went, but she absolutely should have been bigger than she was. And maybe I'll blame my man. He'd love it, 'cause that's one of my one of my favorites, but she's been, or let me down easy. I don't know, it could be that. All right, well, I'll think of something. And I appreciate Eric for bringing that up. So let's see, we have yes. Yes, 12%. 12% of Americans have admitted to this. Admitted to this, Jan and new lenox, Illinois. Welcome to WGN radio. Hey Riley, how are you? All right, how about yourself? Good, thank you. What do you think? So when you said arcane, it made me think taking office supplies from work. Would you believe that two thirds of employees have done that? Wrong percentage? Yeah. Yeah, boy, they have two thirds of employees have admitted that, yeah, they did that. Okay, thanks, Charlie. Thanks for calling. Do it again. All right, yeah, that blew me away too, but yeah, 62% of Americans have said that the check is in the mail when it wasn't. And two thirds, 60, 66% basically. According to the Chicago sometimes and reader's digest have taken company supplies for use at home. And I think that's where Gary from Austin was going with that, but we'll find out. Maybe I'm wrong. So what do you think? Well, I was thinking about stealing things from work, but not necessarily office supplies just to something. That could be interesting. I could see a wheeling it out now. Oh God. Well, I do somebody who worked today. Radio reading service, and he borrowed a turntable from them and never returned it. Well, see that would be an office supply for that particular location. Yeah. And they weren't using it. They missed it. So he just rehomed it. Gave it new life and purpose. Yeah. Yeah, I think he used it for about 20 years after that. I don't know, but that's great. I remember. When cart machines first came out, I was with my main squeeze of the moment and we walked into the lobby of a radio station. We both worked at other radio stations, but so this is obviously the 60s. And in the lobby, we see just boxes of new cart machines, brand new, and he said, you want them. I wanted him so bad, but the reason I didn't take him wasn't because I was so honest and all that. I didn't want him to have that over me. So yeah. Right. No. Had I been there alone? I don't know how honest I would have been, but seeing as I had had an accomplice said, no, no, I'll pass. So yeah, but I still every now and then lust after those machines. I was in a grocery store and a guy was taking me through it to get some stuff and I got something. And here, you want to just put that in your pocket and I said, man, I'll pay for it. Yeah, exactly. That's right. There's only like a couple bucks. I want to be liked in here. I'm going to do that. Not worth it. All right. Thanks. Talk to you later. Thanks

"And I know each WGN leader I'm Robbie James Bobby Smith In the case of mister fine on big top 1961 as Bobby Smith and the dream girls and they were one of Detroit's best kept secrets as far as that goes They put out ten singles between 59 and 65 and none of them hit but in many ways all of them showed mister fine was a B side to wanted and then Bobby Smith went out on her own and was on American arts and miss strong hearted of flip side of that walk on into my heart was always one of my all time favorite records So 888-876-5593 that's 88 88 roddy and Cleveland Dennis is an Elgin Welcome back to WGN radio Oh yeah hi Raleigh I love this show tonight How you talk about the record goal and all that over here in Chicago Yeah Very fascinating and interesting But yeah you talk about your nausea You having Ginger tea I suggest you get the actual Ginger root you cut it up and it's pretty strong It could be like spicy hot but you have it direct like that it might help you along Well that's the next step You know I've had Ginger before It's really hard to get the bark off the Ginger I mean I can't tell you how many times I've cut myself with that Yeah you gotta be you gotta be a restaurant worker to shave it off somehow Or you could take it and shave it with the cheese are greater Anyhow I gotta say I love Scotty when he calls it For me too I was very fortunate yesterday on saint Valentine's Day went around the corner to the old republic restaurant They have an outdoor area built from some old ocean containers and they had the live entertainment and it was the son of Ralph donner Oh wow That's great Yeah yeah He's been gone I was touching his hand and taught that talk to him in a couple of pictures but when you get a chance you can play some rail downer but I need to ask you Was it the dells that was singing not unusual Absolutely It's a flip side Yeah that's nice Yeah my favorite version of that Yeah I saw Tom Jones back about 1969 over in highland heights Eastern suburb of friedland and outdoor event they had the giant 10,000 all that but anyhow what I really called about was Prince Andrew How does he get off by just paying off Just a criminal charge Because no it wasn't a criminal charge It was a civil suit It was It was a civil suit She filed civilly and he had filed about a month ago to dismiss it and the courts ruled that they would not be willing to dismiss it So it absolutely was civil but I just find it a little disingenuous that she could say oh I'm not in it for the money The hail you ate this This was Big Ten minutes I'm not saying that's bad but why not fess up you know I think if it were me I'd say hell yes I'm in it for the money This is my payday Well okay but that was here in America right Down to English law Yeah no I believe it was I believe it was right here Let's see where Virginia I've got the news of course I had to print it out don't you know big story and all So let me find it and see that's a good question But anyway he had he has 30 days to pay up and then after that she will dismiss all the all of the suit but what I'm pretty sure is the U.S. court but that's a good question Yeah Just fascinating how all this stuff kind of gets swept under the rug Well you know the whole thing to me smelled from the beginning I don't see how you can bring up things that are more than 20 years old I just I don't get that So if this wasn't a payday then nothing was You know but what court was it filed Let's find out that's easy enough to do And I have another comment Last week I think you played I've had it by the bell notes Yes I find it such an interesting song because as you listen to it you can almost hear the singer walk up to the microphone to start singing at some point I think it was done in a while I think it was done in a Long Island radio station But in any event it was in New York It was a New York federal lawsuit Yeah you'd be surprised how many records are reported in like Bobby Freeman One of his was it and the drum beats are actually a box of news newspaper turned upside down So this is beyond me but I love it Yeah I guess I love it My favorite location was remember Susie darling by Robin Luke Oh yeah Yeah He recorded that in his bathroom in Hawaii And if you listen very very closely the Hawaiian police calls are in there I'm looking up tonight I love this I don't know I don't know on most of this stuff You probably have to find the original 45 because just about everything in the world has been remastered and you won't hear it but now I was reading last night about and I got to think of the song right now But what they did was they used the septic tank for reverb and I thought oh my God Yeah oh I know exactly what it was It was Billy Joe royal and his version of not I knew you when but another one of the Joseph songs that they actually used a septic tank for reverb Yeah They put the microphone down it Yeah How in the world Well it's I know the septic tank is 'cause I had one when they had 5 acres over in the second incorporated Elgin but my God I accept the tank how they get down in there Well it's fairly easy to get in If you have one you can think of all the ways But as far as that goes septic tanks would be a big step up from where we are we're all still on cesspool where we live Right So you're really out there and they know All right thanks for calling Yeah Love it Thank you I know Maybe it was down in the boondocks I don't know but one of them they actually used a septic tank And yeah as far as cesspools we all kind of keep our fingers crossed because most of the lots are not large enough to accept a septic tank because the.

"And I think music notes dot com has them I think sheet music direct but yeah I would say sheet music plus dot com They claim they've got 2 million titles I don't know Because I hear what you songs and Albert and I are after we get our things together we're going to start up another band and I hear these songs and I want to do them like mister fine you know In the band and we're almost of that's going to be really hard because most of them that you'll like like that weren't didn't sell a lot of copies when they were out So finding somebody in my life You don't think we could find the seat music on that It might be hard You know see that's the thing It's always easier on a big hits anything that sold a lot So she wrote it And that doesn't help either Let me see if I can pull the record here Because what we'll try to do is see if I can find out who the publisher is because obviously when it comes to when it comes to sheet music it doesn't matter who writes that it's who publishes it And that's what it's all about So let's see what we can do on parrot This is a 78 at shellac Where are they going to tell me No they're not going to tell me the publisher Just says she's the writer and under the supervisor of Al Benson It's parrot numbers Yeah right And the flip side is Mabel blues But yeah so I guess the key would be to find a publisher first Okay But in the meantime you could probably just you know I'm sure I would bet that that song is on YouTube just go ahead and download it and make your own Yeah we're pretty good at playing by ear Albert especially He can pick things up especially on the harmonica blues harmonica and stuff like that Yep that's probably your best bet on something like that And I'll play the other mister fine for you next Okay Yeah we like that other song too that Skippy Brown so many days that was good too but mister fine That's his new nickname for Albert now mister fine I think you'll like the Bobby Smith record too Very different feel but I'll be curious to get your take on it when you hear it Yeah Okay well all my best wishes to help you figure this thing out or just get better real soon Yes thank you I sure appreciate that And thanks for calling Okay take care bye So yeah composite of which I still do have that but it probably doesn't matter if it's like 45 years old I save everything All right so Scottie anish Chicago welcome back to WGN Are you taking care of yourself You gotta keep doing what for laughs I'm trying And I want to thank you I mean I want to ask you a question You always meant to that you're doing this as a favor for a man who you owe a lot to Yes And if he asked you to jump you would jump you asked I had That's right And I want to thank that man who is I don't want to know him I just want to thank him So bringing you back to the air Well you just have because he usually listens and he's a fan of yours He's told me in the past that he loves your calls Well I love him because he did a lot bringing you back because you not only keeping Dubois You're keeping people alive You are talk show hot jokes Right Right And you listen to people That's very important And I want to also say you heard about prince Albert Yes and okay so I was talking about that earlier I called you to tell you he sailed out of court Right now so here's the thing Yeah I was mentioning this on the air Remember when Virginia Roberts Jeffrey said I'm not in it for money Well the hell should be right in it for money And they're not only lit He gave it for charity A nice donation Yeah right That was part of it And so they're talking about your charity but I don't care about the charity You can't tell me I'm not in it for money Didn't just rake in a fortune You know I mean that's the way it goes It must I mean how bad could that have event be when she was 17 It was certainly she didn't know at the time it was millions and millions of dollars Oh my God And also they said this man who was involved in accident I heard on David GM that they found him in the river Yes He was involved in accident and his mother kept color and she skips telling newspaper that she believes he had amnesia You know at work and he was just 24 years old and they say they found him in a river just bringing his rib with So if you don't have to worry in a more perceived scholar now the news media is leaving messages where the sun because he believes he adheres its wand and around There was Tommy Howe in Lake county Yeah Oh I didn't know his name I just heard on WGN interview It found him in the river Now the other one okay let's talk for a minute again about this fossil that they found or I guess I don't know what we'd call or the woman been dead for over two years But two years ago You know I thought it was a real old woman You say she would get 7 She was only 70 I saw a picture of her She did not look old at all Well they say she didn't have no relatives and no friends Here's the part that's been scaring me ever since this is and I didn't see it in today's articles but I did in yesterday's when the authorities said we are going to take steps to make sure this never happens again Right Yeah What kind of steps I mean that doesn't sound good does that mean breaking in without a warrant I don't know Just like you know every time they hear the heat wave they always say check on the air just check on the people who's alone Yeah But you don't hear back not to me you know they found a bunch of them dead and they mention it Right Well I'm just afraid of what steps they plan to take Again Yeah right I'm thinking oh God There goes privacy right And also the acronym understand okay and nobody's seen or they took it she had moved Okay I don't know how they do it here I don't know if they get mail but I mean if you get one zero people a day your mailbox will be running over Yeah.

"I play the whole thing if I could All right let's do about a lot of them though Leah in Marcus hook welcome back to WGN radio Leah My Molly thanks for taking my call Always glad you did I'm so sorry that you're ill What is it You know I don't know All right so here's what happened Always something right Yeah Late Wednesday night I started to feel sick It probably ate too much You know that kind of a thing Thursday it was awful I could not stop vomiting And both ends actually we don't need to be descriptive I know how that's about I know Exactly That's why God made wastebaskets and toilets And you seriously That was like 20 hours That was the praying to die period of time in this one Like I've said before I'm on you know oh lord take me And of course when I was 9 that was funny now it alarms John So I try not to say lord take me too much But in any event I was ready to make that trip believe me And then it broke where I wasn't quite that nauseous So I thought oh good well it's probably just a little food poisoning and all star feeling better Well see that's the problem I now just have unrelenting nausea It's not to the point that I can not function If you look at me you know like John said God you look so tired I was like yeah because I'm struggling with every breath so I'm exhausted Sometimes my temperature is slightly above normal and sometimes it's slightly below normal So it goes both ways but never in any direction that's weird but the real thing is the nausea so I've done everything right now I'm doing the Ginger tea I don't think it helps It doesn't hurt But I have a what Go ahead Go ahead I have no idea And it could be giardia maybe or it could be something else Who knows It could be Al Macron Well it's not okay funny you say that because I thought you know because I've got those tests the binax now stuff and all that I've got plenty of those And so I figured what the hell just takes some bitex now test No I do not have all my crown or any form of SARS COV either covi or CoV-2 since my next now doesn't know how to differentiate So I don't have any of that perfectly clean not even not even equivocal It was just negative Oh that's good But listen can your doctor call you in some compazine Because for me that's the only thing that works for nausea You know I've thought about it I might even if I look hard through stuff I probably still have some courses probably 40 years old but so what I don't think pills have really a half life I mean it says take one but take two man Dude I'm not right out of here No we don't want me to take two of anything I tend to react horribly to everything I take One aspirin I'm nauseous We'll take a composite man That'll knock the nausea right out of it Yeah well you know that's one I know well And then Kathleen had suggested that ondansetron I don't know what that is but she took that Never heard of it And yeah I don't know But I might have to get to know I would say take something you know If you know the compazine take it Well right And the first question is why am I nauseous You know that's the bigger question I don't know Well yeah that's true And if you have a fever there must be an infection somewhere Like I say it's sometimes a slight fever to sometimes run subnormal So you know FM dial positions all the way around That's about all I can say that I don't know So I have no idea I've kind of playing doctor Google of course never look things up on my skin The hell out of you And now you're doing it No no no no I'm not Actually I'm not the least but scared I'm more frustrated but I firmly believe that if it was casino pancreatitis is my usual bout But it's not that I don't have pain And I don't think you get pancreatitis without really bad pain from my background And so I don't think it's that Same thing if it were if my gallbladder was angry or something I think I'd have pain I don't have any pain I'm just nauseous All right so so much for so much for medical minute I'm so sorry I'm so sorry you're ill and I hope you can figure it out and get better soon I'll let you know on Valentine's Day I really was but John got me some lovely flowers Oh how nice how nice Albert bought me a little bear little doggy that sings They're my best friend by Queen Oh very nice Very nice Yeah Very cute It made me cry And we were out with a plate tonight because he has off tomorrow So we fall in love with that song mister fine by Mabel Scott Yeah isn't that good I like that too We were listening We were singing along We were like yeah that's a good song Yeah it is I said I'm gonna get you a T-shirt that has your picture that says mister fine underneath Well you know it's interesting because I had heard that the first time after I'd heard Bobby Smith mister fine which is a different record Now do you know that one Yeah No Oh so I have to play Bobby Smith for you then in the next break It's a soul record but yeah so when I saw mister fine I thought you know there's many years ago when I saw it on United I said well she couldn't have redone Bobby Smith you know Because this was years before it And then I thought well maybe Bobby Smith redid her about turns out totally different record But yeah I'll play mister Thank you Now what was that other song you played I know what love is all about Was that the name of it Oh let's see what did I play It's terrible to say you mean the Jimmy Brown with the last name Oh Skippy Brown so many days Oh Skippy Brown So many days But the other one that I played was Jimmy Forrest hey misses Jones I liked that one So many days That was a good one too Yeah that was a chance No I wanted to ask you something I don't know if you I mean if you buy sheet music at any time or if you know for some reason it's really hard these days to buy sheet music online I think it'd be hard to buy music period you know I think that the sales of sheet music have been going down since the rise of record sales So we're talking about a diminishing return since the 40s No I mean no before the online thing it used to be really easy is to.

"Call that was made by Nick Fury he didn't take a dumb stack He didn't run out of bounds that would have essentially turned the ball over to the falcons at midfield He threw the football away When the play was there he made the play when it wasn't he got rid of the football or made the smart play with his legs Smarts is what you could take into the next game Athleticism people figure out But when it comes to everything else you got to play with what's left between your ears You've got a coach with what's between years I thought Nick sary did a great job in game planning and Jalen hurts did a great job executing This hurts Davante Smith partnership looks like a match made in heaven At least in game one I mean that looks like it could be something really magic Oh I that the rub route that Zach Ertz and Devante Smith ran on the outside but basically Zach Ertz made it impossible for the defender to stick with devonta Smith and Bobby Smith as quick enough and fast enough to pull this off as well But it was like something that they had ran a thousand times in Alabama even though I believe only 12 passes were completed from hertz to Smith while the two of them were at Alabama's second time But they just look like the type of guys that can look at each other know the play know the timing of the route and knowing how to execute it And one of the most impressive things about that play was after the game Devante Smith was asked when did you know that was going to be a touchdown And devonta Smith said when I looked up and I saw man coverage Yeah Before the play was even run he saw the coverage knew they were going to execute that play because they had run it so many times in practice He and Zachary and also Jalen hurts obviously But when devonte Smith saw man coverage knew the player they were running knew his own ability knew that play was first knew also that Jalen hurts was going to hit him and try to the end zone They knew that they were going to execute that plate of infection to get the touchdown When he saw man covers they knew they had 7 points See I've never played so I don't know what I'm talking about but I would guess that like anything that you do having been in broadcasting anyway you know when you work with somebody long enough and you enjoy working with them and you click it clicks and you try other combinations It never you know and it can be okay but it's never quite right But when you get that just right partnership and broadcasting it's magic and you never want it to end I wonder how much that's true in football You know if you played with somebody and you had a light shop career together say in college or on a former team and then you're reunited I wonder how much that matters You just naturally feel better and more comfortable and know how to read one another Oh certainly I mean my one year of playing organized football at archbishop wood I became extremely acquainted with the bench Like I always knew where the bench was going to be and then I would find it It would find me It was just a great we were on the same page We always clicked We always clicked But no that's a great point Those two players they know each other so well And in any working relationship I always try to break this down for people because it's not that different I know people look at the money and obviously the money's huge when it comes to professional athletes and how they're treated in the attention and all that Well when it comes down to it these are all people in a working environment When you are in any field and you have to work with other people it's always good when less communication is needed because there's already an understanding And that's what exists between those two parties between Jalen hurts and deposits I mean Caleb hurts and I think it was the second quarter He hit devonte Smith for consecutive passes simply because that was the guy that was open and that was the guy he was on the same page with And that was by the way another praise of Philadelphia said that was after devonta Smith held a block on the outside as a wide receiver that was too skinny for the NFL quote unquote held his block on the outside to make sure miles Sanders got I believe an 8 guard run or something like that On the outside And then after that caught four straight passes So that's what speaks to the diversity of devonte Smith But no they're on the same and that's ultimately what you need between a wide receiver and a quarterback So your final takeaway is this team is going to be better than a lot of people predicted Yeah I mean I had a 9 in 8 and I try not to get caught up in a lot of other predictions because ultimately nobody really knows I get it But I felt that Nick Siri hanni was going to come in here and be creative I saw enough of Jalen hurts last year to know that the athlete and the quarterback were going to be good enough to warrant at least a one year audition to see if he could be the quarterback of the future Not just mister right now but mister Wright for the eagles to speak in a cliche I saw that last year from him But in this particular game I saw the next step because last year the criticism under Jalen hurts was if he doesn't know the play he'll make a play And that's not always the best thing in the world because of the quarterback he should know.

Uber gets 18-month London license after winning court appeal

"Quarter uber lost $1.8 billion because of the covert pandemic. I mean, think about it. How often have you called up an uber or a lift? To catch a ride since the pandemic hit. I mean, I know personally, we used these uber and our family quite a bit a couple times a month between the five of us now we probably haven't used it twice. In four or five months. The company is trying Teo, you know, survive and come back and part of that involves expanding and having rideshare all around the world, including London, where Uber was able to get their license back after winning the court challenge and join us on the phone Now to talk about this is Simon Oh, and Fox News correspondent Welcome to the Bobby Smith Show. My morning, Kevin. So sort of walk us through this. What is what has been the history of uber in London? And then where do we stand today? Why's this ruling so important? That is a troubled history. But this is certainly a crucial victory for uber the taxi service that, as you say, spread all over the world in in recent years, But that rapid expansion as bean bumpy at times on DH no less so than here in the British capital on who ended up being stripped of its license to operate here last year. There's bean a Serie of skirmishes with the transport authority before that, on DH Uber was then told last November that that was it. It was being banned for what transport for London said with a pattern of failings, including summit said that puts passengers at risk well. Uber appealed that ruling. Went across it apologize. It was contrite. It accepted there had bean flaws in the past, but it said it had changed, but it has put things right on DH. Now A judge has sided with the company and the magistrate who heard this case. 10 a crime, said that while Uber wass guilty of historic failings, he said, its record Was improving on that he was satisfied that it is now in the words they used fit and proper to hold a license. So whoever is back it is very happy. London today particularly lucrative market it count 3.5 million regular customers here, so those 3.5 million people can continue to use. That the service transport regulator says it will be watching you that very closely. Yes. So you know here in the states, uber had a bumpy start here is well, And the biggest concern, of course, was people safety and there would be a report here and then a report there and and all of a sudden people were very concerned about how safe they were getting in a car with a stranger. But uber seemed to put together quite a lengthy list of Of things that they that they go through to make sure that the rider's air safe the background checks and being able to identify that driver actually is a driver. The biggest problem after they started went through their their safety checks was, you know, making sure customers got in the right car that they were supposed to be getting in more than anything else? I have had They done that in London. Do they have the same safety procedures? Do they? They make sure that they do background checks on all of that on the drivers, and they do checks on the cars. You know, At first, there were there were not Checks on the actual fitness of the automobiles, But they changed that as well. The car's all have to go in and get checked out before somebody can become another driver. Well, I mean, it's certainly change from the kind of it's almost quite loose seeming ride, hailing service that it used to be way you accepted that it was just going to be a stranger, perhaps rolling up in their car, making a few dollars on the side and taking you around now it's very much much more like a taxi company on duty, said that it'd have increased its safety precautions that said that this verdict is a recognition of its commitment to safety and that it will continue to work constructively. With the regulator. But transport for London laid out a series of floors that it that I had identified last year and perhaps the most car racing complaint from the regulator. It's said that there was a florin uber systems that was allowing unauthorized drivers to upload their photos to another drivers accounts essentially borrow the accounts and make some money. For themselves, and so uber had Bean saying, You know, we've got this sorted. We're doing background checks on the drivers. They've overto have accounted their photos on. And then it turned out there was this huge loophole in the system that meant that wasn't really a promise that was worth more than the paper. It was. It was written in because transport for London said that those uninsured rides involving an unauthorized drivers It says that they carried out more than 14,000 rides before uber fixed this floor so pretty kind of damning indictment from the regulator now at the same time Stream, a half million regular customers. That's a lot. That's a significant proportion of London's population. And so I think this is probably quite helpful for the transport regulator and the mayor of London as well because they had officially kicked to browse and got rid of it. Then you would have some Customer to kind of got attached to ever much cheaper than traditional black cabs here. And so this perhaps works for both sides that the Duke said it has tightened up its safety precautions on for the regulator. It's able to keep you were operating and keep happy that the three million Londoners who use it
