Uber would likely shut down for over a year in California if new ruling not overturned
"Lift and uber say a California judge's order could put them out of business. The ruling that bride hailing drivers in California must be reclassified as full time employees with benefits. As NPR's Bobby Allen reports uber and lift insist their most of their drivers want to remain independent contractors. The judge's order follows a new law in California aimed at regulating the gig economy that made it more difficult for tech companies to rely on contractors who work without health insurance and paid sick leave. In a call with investors lift President John Zimmer echoed Uber and saying If the order isn't paused on appeal lift will stop its Reid handling business in California reclassifying tens of thousands of self employed drivers would be a significant challenge. In normal times, and in the current pandemic environment Thea about that would be nearly impossible. California voters will be asked on the November ballot measure whether the gig economy law should stay or if workers should remain independent contractors. Bobby Ellen NPR
That's Just The Way The Ball Bounces
"Julianne. Bobby, how are you? Ever. Since I was a kid my grandma I've called each other a few times a week. Cross doing the crossword. So she used to call me every Thursday to remind me to serie chickens at Safeway. We're going on sale the next day. Or Two tell me when Walmart started selling Mentos for five cents cheaper than rose ours. I'm just as quick to call her with good news courtesy. She's always been my most enthusiastic cheerleader. She's eager to shower me with pride in praise for getting a good grade. You're finding a good discount on a pair of shoes. To call because I heard you made us tonight I, did make asparagus night 'cause. Really impressive. Lately, we don't have as much to talk about. It's the spring of two, thousand and twenty and in the midst of waiting out the coronavirus. Parents moved my grandma into their house. When the virus I broke out in nursing homes. In Seattle in hopes, it would lower her risk of exposure. And I'm finishing school remotely. So, our lives have gotten pretty quiet. These days when we call, we usually start by talking about the weather. Beautiful. Weather we've been. Lucky really. Man, and then again update on where she's out with their latest jigsaw puzzle. One. Smaller, and all the lights. Only entertaining thing I have to offer her now are updates about my quarantine inspired virtual dating experiences. So I, really leaning into it. Okay. What's going on with your own dates? We upgraded? We're not just doing folks. We're doing a facetime. For my top house bottom half is You've gotta be kidding. But inevitably, the conversation always turns back to the coronavirus. Everyone. You know everywhere, it just seems strange Oh. This world is. At a standstill, even a small portion isn't that crazy I mean everything's great. You know you know can go how long is because last I've never seen anything like this. I think we all through. And then without fail, the conversation ends with. Well. That's just the way. The boxers. This is my grandma's go saying whenever something bad happens. She. Says it all the time. When I was growing up, she said, if my team lost a soccer game or if I called her to get some sympathy when I was home sick from school. Oh you poor thing. She'd say. Then she take a long inhale initially released her breath, she'd say. Wow. That's just the way. The ball. Shelby shrugs when she says it. Even, on the phone, I know she's sharking the thing itself is kind of like one big shrug. I always pictured football when she said it. Basketball or tennis ball is. Reliable. They bounce from Palmdale pavement. But if you slam a football onto the ground. You never really know what direction it's going to bounce. It might land on its stitches in bounced back into. Your Shins. Or might just tumble down the street cartwheeling over itself. Changing directions goes. It's at the base of her reaction to most things especially anything negative. Whether losing a fourth grade soccer game or global pandemic. Just above. You can't help it. That's just the way things
Tips every Django developer should know
"This first tip that have this is like one of the main things that I think of is like it comes with these building block pieces that say Flask Impure Pyramid and. Bass APN. What just don't come with like Admin back ends Yup. That's where we're going to start off. So Django clearly comes at batteries included and some people actually don't like that because they've under rule their own and they think itself. I happen to like their preferences and yeah, one of those well-known building blocks as the admin interface at and it's it's pretty impressive. But a few lines of code you. You can just add your model, an avid pie file, and you have to complete crowd interface, which is probably pretty end user. But as a maintain earth, this site it's it's pretty convenient and it's also very easy to extend it. So for example, taking admin class here, you can define some search fields. which makes those field searchable. You can have even have out a complete fields which they integrated the jobless Ritz. You can override to get crazy set and. Yeah. It's a nice way of inheriting from the Admin Dots Model Admin blasts Yeah. So it comes out of the box just. Kind of think of it as like. Google sheets or something for your database, right? Right. Where each table is like a tab or a sheet and sit in the workbook or whatever the terminology of Google sheets is. But the task. The bottom writes something I mean not necessarily stimuli. But that idea that you have like a grid over top of it. But what you're telling me is I can go into rive special classes that are tied to the various. Tables the models more specifically in it lets you search different aspects of it. Lets you cool. Auto completion. You could also say like limit how many items come back in your search results per page. So you don't get a million or something like that, right? Yeah. Do a list filter, for example, and then certain columns at the right side of the page. You can filter on them by clicking. Just. With one nine of coach. So this does raise some Cole functionality and I think, maybe in the show notes, we can link to a Django adleman cookbook, I use a loss which has like the hands. On. I. Might have mentioned before actually on pie down the vice then the umbrella from that book. That's like fifty pages and. Yeah Very. Workable. Super Bowl. Another thing you can do is you can write a function called get query set and actually do things like be joyner, do a joined queries against other things. Otherwise you may it up with like the N plus one problem of Orum's were doing queer than everything that comes back. You have to do more queries per item to try to fill out the details, I will talk about that in in one of the tips. Yeah. Yeah. Awesome. That's super cool. Let's see what else you want to say about that I. You know I was it. You think it might have been you either you or damn baiter. baiter from real python talking about using this to actually trigger events as you interact with this adman was that you think that was me. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So tell us that's like I. think that's pretty related. Tell people by the pretty. Cool. Right. We spoke about that on Python Bites Yeah. Thank God. We did was in one of the at model self variety safe method, and then the object plus created, and only then do a certain action. He likes emailing people in Hindsight. That's probably better to do it a salary task by it's an example how you can override those methods and do certain things. Yeah. Pretty easily. Yeah very cool. All right remember to or magic. Yeah. Well, Dan go comes with its own orem object relational napper and it's kind of a proxy today. So you don't have to ride s all yourself although i. Am such a fan. I'm saying, well, you worked at, Oracle, didn't you? Fan of orange actually or in the nurse sequel world maybe od M.'s or or some. are might not necessarily make sense, but you know there's so many issues you can run into if you don't use parameters, queries, little bobby tables, and all those issues and just like if you get the rock queries back and you pull different values sometimes you forget to convert this thing to an integer and it's just a string that has an energy in it that sort of. All these little weird edge cases right now you're as. With. Orum's at kind of. Like a layer that just separates like how your data should be transformed I. Really Love It. I, think it's great. I know one hundred percent work all the time. Right? There's places where it doesn't. But that's not as you know like most the time it's a it's a beautiful thing and it's it's a nice obstruction and it's way easier to use and more elegant.

"So you broken network cable that was in the ground Oh yeah. Is that right? Is it a cat cat sixty think for the regular incidents Jason Hansen it'd be mad at me. Jason. Helped me in solace. Up a half ago, we took a cable he was at one of the classes and his don't be this leading that destroyed one from the house he went looked in house and he said Oh all you need is a four hundred foot burial cable. You know woman a little bit more checks on the outside or tougher thing. So we went from the House across the yard about four hundred feet into the new. Black Barn. And today the guys who are doing the driveway. Because, he came up and he said you can say I just broke a cable. He wasn't took a little black wire as thaw. which is it's not a big deal but I have two laser stuff in a few hours. So I have to splice so that I could I'm GonNa have just figure how to connect my computer directly to the laser. Laser unit. The full spectrum laser so I'll figure it all out. So I just have a spicing kit somewhere I could spice it and buried again it's just a you know it's one of those things where you think like you plan your day your mind I'll have to this that a have to find this the whole package splicing equipment, which I haven't seen since a year and a half a mile and a half six this. Thing. They're widening my drive land on the barn, the my local landscaping guys, and he's walking the dog at eight o'clock to call me over his wire carpets out anything important. Stick it out of the ground to five foot pieces. Ten, feet apart like That's my laser job in four hours. Anyway it's. It's not it could have been a lot worse. It's you know these things whenever these guys dig a funny thing was once got tremendous trench to the electric from the street. They had to put three-phase cable from the street all the way to the barn and Derek from Maldon came over one day and he's like looking in the hall and he goes you know you guys cut a phone line didn't don't Cha we did. When he point he pulled in the hall had been dug for like a month I didn't even notice city because that's what he does for a living. In look look and it was a cable like about as thick as my wrist with about twenty thousand wires in it. Ripped right. Open idol even looking at it from one angle ciders thought it was a water of black water hose which water was coming out of it gets its abandoned but if you look at it from the other direction is like. Ten thousand wires hanging out of the, but they will cut very cleanly. And he goes how long ago did you cut this? They broke it about ten days ago he does no one's come to bobby nope because then it must be abandoned. Because usually when these things break, they know right away. Oh yeah and. Because there was a it was his is the bucket. So one half of the why was ripped out of the wall and laying face into the mud so I just thought it was a hollow black water to. And the other one was sticking out from the angle. You couldn't feel the wires anyway. And then about ten feet away in the trees have grown into one of the trees is A. Porcelain. Placard from. Bell telephone. And it's grown into it's gotta be from like the fifties on in the forties because half engulfed in the tree in his bell telephone. So that must be and then when we dug up a French drain by the Barn. By the other by the machine shop, which is about four hundred feet away they found the same cable. So it runs diagonally through my property right under every single holy Dick So. It's abandoned but the little tiny Internet cable, which is about as thick as a pencils broken and I'm gonNA figure six after we get off. labile learn something new. Yeah, it's a pain in the butt though a strip does tiny little wires and well, I'm Gonna I'm GonNa. Try need twice I gotTA. Yeah I'M GONNA try to do a connector connector connecting connector. You know. A peace in the middle, and then just cover covered with like six pounds of lactate and put it back on the ground. Everyone's passionate. Everyone's punching this computers for now. It's not gonNA work. That's what people do. That's fun. Anyway other than that. What are you up to? What have I been up to whip building trailers didn't put a movie out last week as building trailers. We're building eight bullet Bourbon trailers that are going to go to Texas in the last ones I built over probably few weeks maybe four weeks four to five weeks considering the prototype. Now, this eight I started last Thursday now it's almost one week later and they're just about there about seventy five percents done. WHO's still out to do the doors for build bumpers but with a team here, the team that I got helped me out is incredible everything's moving along swiftly. And, we'll make tires. Sixteen fake tires at a plywood. In every single tired uses up just about one full sheet of plywood. And takes thirty minutes to cut because there's I didn't count this probably sixty pieces that I cut out like little arcs of circles we connect them together. To make related them together like a like A. Layer cake then six layers apply what makes up one tire. When fake tire everyone's like why don't you just buy tires because that means that I have to buy tires with Rennes connect the rims to something that's both if I keep it all would I could just nail screw everything. And if I do the cost analysis, it's probably the same amount of money to buy the plywood and take the time to put it together. But I don't have the the ability to just nail in screw I have to Baltin get involved all the Have to down the rabbit hole of using the trailer equipments connect tires as opposed to just using screws announced nothing has to turn so it doesn't matter.

Legendary New York newspaper columnist Pete Hamill dead at 85
"Richard, an icon of New York City journalism, has died during his long career. Pete Hamill wrote for The New York Post. The Daily News News day in the village voice and along with the late Jimmy Breslin was seen as one of the best City Street columnist of his time covering sports, politics and, of course, crime. Pete Hamill, legendary New York columnist, has died
"I have some sad news as well being informed that apparently legendary New York Post and Daily News columnist Pete Hammel has passed away. Unfortunately, at the age of 85 so he was a longtime editor. For the New York Post and a longtime columnist for the both The post and the News rush. You and I spoke with his brother, Dennis family, also a terrific columnist of mine. And, You know, people who know their history may remember this. But Pete Hamill was a pretty close friend of Robert Kennedy and Hammel helped persuade Robert Kennedy to run for president back in 1968. He worked on Kennedy's campaign. Then he covered it as a journalist, and he was one of four men who actually disarmed, sir. Hand, sir. Hand you know, removed his gun in the aftermath of that Kennedy assassination is a pretty good documentary series about that Kennedy assassination on Netflix. He's one of you know, when you talk about family you're talking about him and Jimmy Breslin. I mean those air, the legendary people. I'm saying Steve Dunleavy. I'm so sad about that, because he's really and you know, I gotta call Dennis the minute we get off the he Not only, though, would Bobby Kennedy, but he was quite The man on his earlier days dating Jackie Ah Onassis Onassis. Trump Administration Imposes Deadline For TikTok To Be Sold
"Chinese company that owns tiktok is under a little bit of pressure from President Trump and is considering selling you the president says, he thinks tiktok is a threat to US security even given the company kind of deadline by set a date of around September fifteenth at which point is going to be out of business in the United States. Now, over the weekend president trump talked to the CEO of Microsoft, which is a potential buyer here NPR's tech reporter Bobby. Allen is with us this morning. Hi, Bobby Hey Rachel. So take a step. Back, Bobby, why does president trump have an interest in tick talks US operations in the first place? Well, trump never mentions TIKTOK without saying China to talks parent company. Bite dance is based in Beijing and trump says that means tiktok could be harvesting the private data of millions of Americans and sharing with the Chinese Communist Party now whether that's really happening is up for debate but trump, it's black or white right? It's took talks either stays chinese-owned and will be banned or the APP is bought by an American company like Microsoft and can stick around. Right. So No L. Mention this Microsoft CEO talk with President Trump over the weekend about the possibility of requiring Tiktok but that's rather remarkable. Right? Like why did the CEO of a private company feel the need to run this by the president right and that's because the trump administration including trade adviser Peter Navarro has been peering on Cable News and saying the White House does not trust Microsoft. And while it looks like right now that Microsoft has won back the confidence of the White House. The company just really wants to make sure absolutely has the blessing of the administration before trying to take Tiktok over and a big part of Microsoft's pledge is to ensure that no TIKTOK data ever leaves Americans shores. Yes to your question. The president getting intimately involved in a private company merger talks is not typical but talk right in APP known for dance challenges and Prank Videos. No last finding itself as the latest political football in Washington is dealing with just that. Can we close by talking about the business end of this like what's in it for Microsoft to buy Tiktok? What do they get out of this potential? So we hear the word Microsoft when we think of the company many people still think of windows, right? It's not exactly the hippest image in the world, but Microsoft does own xbox. It's one actually one of its most successful businesses and there's a lot of crossover potential between gamers and tiktok users not to mention bringing on tiktok would allow Microsoft to go toe to toe with facebook. Which sees talks huge popularity and is pretty envious.
Trump Administration Imposes Deadline For TikTok To Be Sold
"TIKTOK has on the market president. Trump says, he's giving the company that owns the video sharing up a month to sell it, or if not, he wants to talk banned in the US I, sent a date of around September fifteenth at which point is going to be out of business in the United States. Over the weekend, the president spoke with the CEO of one potential buyer Microsoft to explain what's going on with the future. Of TIKTOK, we've got NPR tech reporter Bobby Allen with us this morning. Hi, Bobby Tae. They're just take a step back, explain why president trump is so interested in tiktok right now. So trump doesn't talk about tiktok without talking about China, and there is a reason for that tiktok parent company Bite. Dance is based in Beijing and trump says that means tiktok harvesting the private data of millions of American citizens and sharing it with the Chinese Communist Party now wasn't that's really happening is up for debate. There's no conclusive evidence that it is, but trump views it as a black and white issue to talk either stays Chinese owned, and we'll be banned or the APP is bought by an American company like Microsoft, like you mentioned and it can stick around. So we mentioned this in the intro that Microsoft's CEO actually sat down with President trump over the weekend I mean is. The CEO of Microsoft feels it's necessary to actually vet this potential purchase with the. President. Yeah. Because the walls have been closing in on Tiktok for some time, the president has been threatening economic sanctions against Tiktok. Other members of the trump administration have been talking about other ways to basically ban Tiktok from the United States completely and Microsoft spied opportunity here. Microsoft said. Well, let's see if we can acquire the American assets of Tiktok and The do that they need to get the blessing of the trump administration. So I think Microsoft CEO just wants to be one hundred percent sure that trump is not going to try to. And challenge the acquisition because that's the last thing you want when you make a huge merger like Microsoft is looking to do with Tiktok. So from the from a business point of view, bobby wood, a tick tock acquisition I mean is that a good buy for Microsoft? Yeah, it would be huge. I mean Microsoft already is a one point, five, trillion dollar company. Right. I mean they absolutely are a global powerhouse, but not really has Microsoft isn't really known for being on the leading edge of social media platforms for young people. Many people. Still when they think of Microsoft, they think of Windows, the operating system, not exactly the hippest image in the world, but Microsoft also owns xbox. It's one of its most successful business lines in fact, and there's a lot of crossover between gamers and tiktok users not to mention bringing on to talk with allow Microsoft to go toe-to-toe with facebook, which has been looking at Tiktok and has been pretty envious. So envious that facebook has announced a copycat service that sounds a lot like tiktok. So in addition to all this Tiktok is also wrapped up in a big court case. Can you explain what that's all about? Right. So as the focus has been on Tiktok Washington troubles, another problem has been quietly brewing in federal court There's a massive class action lawsuit about allegedly stealing data from users, and the crux of sued is about whether Tiktok has been sending data about American. To China, the lawyers claim they have proof of this, but it does still have to be proven in court tiktok lawyers though say, yeah, the APP captures and stores all sorts of data as all APPS DO, but they're not giving any of it to Chinese authorities at least that's what Tiktok says.

APP TIKTOK as NPR's Bobby Allen explains the discussions come as the trump administration ramps up its pressure campaign to force Tiktok to cut ties with its Chinese owners. Tech giant Microsoft is in talks about possibly purchasing Tiktok a favourite among teens and twenty somethings that has become a target in Washington that's according to A. Person Familiar with the discussions tiktok owned by Beijing based Bite Dance Federal. Disney Pixar Acquisition: What did we learn?
"Pharma. But the picture, the Pixar deal is really interesting. The cornered Resource Hamilton kind defines it as like what is something. It's not just one person, but what's what is some resource that this corporation has access to uniquely that nobody else could competitively come arbitrage and higher away in the case of a person, and for Pixar it was the brain trust right, and it wasn't just Ed and John it was. Was the two of them and the collective culture around all the directors picks are and what they were able to accomplish in the creative process, and so I think Disney masterfully handled this where the intimidated by Bagger getting the acquisition to a big reason it happened was he said two to head headed John and Steve Jobs to you. We want you to come. Takeover Disney animation in addition to Pixar. That we realized the brain trust is what is medical. What is the power here and so not only are you gonNA keep it. We're GONNA expand bobbies, the analogy of the canvas that you get to paint on which is perfect for that for that deal. Yeah, last like. So funny of. The other big thing that dictates this is leverage so. I think most of the folks listening to your show. Jeff is like. Many of them are. Software engineers they may have sold. A company at some point and saying things like it took ten days for Disney to get a deal done with Pixar or took the weekend to buy instagram. If they've ever sold their company, they're like what you. That was a six month. Awful, awful process and thank. That is largely the case when the big companies got. Time on their side, the startup usually is either running out of money or has to make a call at some point soon. Do we need to fundraise very sell? It's hard to get multiple bidders looking at you, and so it's it's really rare scenario where a company actually has enough the acquire e actually has enough leverage to force deal to get done and to force a bidding war and I think most of the. The time when it looks like as you know, your sponsor needs to the deal sponsor on the acquiring side needs to carefully use their political capital and bill decks and build models and make pitches internally and stake their career on getting it done, and that just as many month process that gets expensive. It has lawyers, and so that to me is also a big factor in sort of
"bobby he" Discussed on Nickel Package
"Yeah I just Kinda WanNa ramp on the football stuff just by asking you a little bit about about the linebacker position and you know because at this point I think career we're starting to think about it in the context of history like saying and it's a position. I think that the importance in the eyes of the League has evolved a lot even in your ater so seasons. Who Do you really like? Who who are the linebackers when all said and done that you'd like to be regarded in that category and compared to obviously you know the recent inductees like Ray Lou was. Brian are lacquer You know I've I've loved watching Willis in Navarro bombing when they were play You know Brian last Briggs whenever play people that I enjoyed watching. So hopefully you know when all is said and done you know you want to be in that now. Only net like looked upon in that regard. But you know the guys that are coming up to respect game. He went full at basketball. Everything and You know when he walked from the game you walked away and the only thing that brought him back with his His kids and so. That's kind of hard. Look at IT I. I don't know I'll be a coach when I'm done Because he's have different as ambitions that I like to kind of put my energy into and now it's time for dinks dunks. I'm getting paid for this right all right. We always wrap with five questions for from me. One is from Lenny. Apologize in advance. This usually offensive. He asked K. Dre about batted ball in K. J. denied that he knew the role. I don't know if you remember that the infamous lie with the Lions game were. Jay batted the ball into the end zone or big words. Think Cam Cam Somebody that was Cajun Y and then everyone in America pretended like they knew the rule yet with somebody hits a pop. Can't hit candy. Yes yes yes. We did not us all break the rules again and I because we're on the field and everybody has a phone. They can look up the ruling. No obviously they didn't know because they wouldn't call it. They would called new. We played the film Mary game on Monday. Night off you can't on ESPN. Or as I call it. The totally legitimate touchdown game is fun to watch that game because what people forget is you guys terrorized. Aaron Rodgers in that game. I got to be the only time. Russell Wilson's career. He's ever been out sect eight to one first game west. I watched it too. I was watching. I forgot that we had that many sex Chris Clements man. He was a piece in game all right first question. Which Ninja Turtle? Are You Rafael? Explain why for those who don't know by Wagner Longtime? Tnn Mt Aficionado. I don't know if you still are allegra. Happy with the movies that came out recently but annhilated series sky. I mean I like the more odor the nineties ones where they actually looked like the yeah. These ones didn't really look like cartoon that I saw the court. I think the first one they were like six eight seven eight kind of made them a little shorter insect more Roughly is He's very sarcastic alley. I am I like to The way he approaches it attacks. Here's mindset I just like you know my favorite colors red so there you go. Cartoon is the one with the theme song that slap really hard. The which one is K. J. J. J. would probably be Selo. That seems about right our peak peak. Carol pekair probably had to be 'cause he's the head coach has gone a splinter vibe. Actually you know I'm with okay. Second question everyone wants wants to get recommendations for stuff to watch on TV in the quarantine. What are you watching right now I'm watch sent good. I watched four lives. Oh Yeah it's a show comes on. Abc Wash threatening. I wasn't in the Ozark. Lost the first two episodes in the knock. Just cut it off and then the third season came out. Everybody was talking about how great it was us. I watched it again in that became fan. I watched Ozark is definitely one. I liked to watch documentaries. I like to listen to people like Nipsy Jay Z. You know different people like that. So that's probably I'm doing you mentioned also at the very beginning. Shy should've followed. That you've been reading alive. You read anything. Good that you'd recommend people Just read chop wood carry water at that. That was a pretty good book I'm reading a book on original Lewis. I read book discovering the power within one of my favorite seceded Solo. Seven seven decisions is a good one to sail and should be your number. Yeah Okay I see what you P care. I'll get along. He got a lot of you know of books. He wrote a book so three forever. Third Question we kind of touched on this but I want name. Who's the hardest quarterback in the NFL to face right now and I can't say Russell you can't say Russell obviously I would probably say Lamar's when POPs out pretty good thousand tough game to watch and he's he's pretty fast actually wanted to ask you along those lines really quickly? How like because we've been talking a lot about whether teams us two quarterbacks like a taste tatum hell or like how will the eagles used jalen hurts as a defender as fans? I think people get really annoyed when that like they're like really while you take your grease off the field. Are you really going to kind this trickery as a defender though how challenging is that when Tastes Hill is on the field for example It's a challenging from a preparation standpoint because You know I don't know how much they go use them. You know it could be one play could be Ten plays and so I think it works well for them. Because they're really two different quarterbacks you know debris more of a pocket sit in the pocket. Picchu part He'll is more of a he. Does it all man? He's a receiver. He's a tied in. He's a quarterback. He you know you really have to know where he's at and so. I know a lot of teams may trying to think about that. But you have to really have two different quarterback for definitive. Really you know really be worried about if you have to have the same kind off is not GonNa Change challenging. You feel like you guys have played the panthers approximately forty five times over the last six seven years. It's actually going home. It's very irritating but I gotta ask. Are You surprised that Cam Newton does not have a job right now? I'm very surprised you know. I think you know if anybody else with his pedigree is on the market. You know him being. Mvp M leading the team to the Super Bowl. You know the kind of threat that he kinda presents to a defense You know I I feel that they would be taking pretty quick so you know. I'm maybe he's waiting for Maybe he's has off. I don't know that per se but I would be surprised if nobody picks fourth question. I know you said you've been reading. You've been watching documentaries. What is a hobby? You have that would like Shock people or something. You're interested in that you think people would be truly surprised to learn shopped in on the have something that people shocking maybe Blah Blah people. Now I play basketball I am a pool shark. You know so by one challenged me in pool. That's what I do So very it allows okay. We're seeing a pool table unite. There are you the basketball player on the seahawks we played. I haven't played too. Many people say when people come to my house where they win so I don't know I'll have to play more munching son stand but I will say I'm on the top for sure. Last question has always comes from Lenny. I didn't read it. I just I'm just reading under mostly. No it's not it's not I already promised I wouldn't ask about a story on. Tmz Today so I was. That was his first suggestion. I admire knew that he actually just wanted to know. If you can communicate something to p Carol in Brian Schottenheimer and tell them to let Russell Wilson Pass more his his exact words are let. Russ Cook. Yeah I can do that you know. I think I could do that. Tell them I tell them. Tell them give.

"I think I have a slowing the game down with something that you know coming in. It was talked about but I didn't really understand how to do that in that as I got older. You know the game is is so slow in processing things so quick and I don't think I was doing that When I first got into the League and You just see it. You know you watch you watch older guys like Ray Lewis and all those guys and you see. They don't take a lot of steps. Other steps of precise is because they know where the ball's going in so you know. I think a lot more than I was when I was rookie. You rookie just running out there trying to make plays but now you understand what applause going trying to beat them there The seahawks play a lot more base defense than the rest of the NFL. I think that's obviously stems a little bit from the personnel. You guys have Linebacker group being sort of the strength of the team in what ways has that been challenging given where offenses have gone over the last year. And how you responded to that challenge. I think from you know looking at think you know the challenges is like you said you got guys in our division. That liked to have mismatched was ribisi resolved on linebacker. So you see That is not as easy to get to. You know or is easy for them to get to that you know being replaced on base and so just understanding how they will attack you know us in look at our front or look at our personnel attack on but you not feel like we have Smart linebackers we have fast linebackers. Nothing that's kind of what elite he's going to be watching Linebackers are getting faster and faster and you know. They're not as big as they once work. You know guys probably back in a little bit before when I was there. Guys like two fifty to sixty and you don't really see that as much Now know guys like to forty below and so That's not how you combat it. You know you just gotTa be fast and and things. Martin understand you know how they're going to Jack Ewing in we've done a decent job? What has to US something else? I noticed this season in particular after games. You're wearing a SPEC- especially I think after almost every game if I'm right can you explain your thinking behind that. Yeah I was wearing them after every Rogaine and I just wanted to say I don't I just start off. His I one hoodies and I was Thinking about taking a business school Taking a business course in Stanford and Harbor in that thought like why doesn't more people try to do those business classes at ACC? Use and After I started researching and You know really dive. In understanding. I started or hoodies and then I wanted to. You know. Find a way to kind of put him on a map and I kind of found out was up for the walk paying man of the year and decided to donate the money that I was GONNA RECEIVE TO ABC Foundation. And so got. It became a thing where I was just wearing. He's kind of shed light on on university. I feel should be thought about precisely. You mentioned the stemmed from you thinking about taking a business class or looking into business programs. Is that something you WanNa pursue after football? Yeah something you. I got my degree in that something that I've you know I've had a lot of good mentors Challenged me to think about. What is something I wanted to do? after I'm done playing football and so a lot of majority of my off season spin entering answering a different businesses Learning different things that I can and you know hopefully make that transition into next world Look pretty pretty good. You negotiated your own marketing. Deal with Jordan brand. And then you're on your current contract to three year fifty four million dollar deal with the seahawks which you know. There was a lot of attention paid to Richard Sherman negotiating his deal. When you're worded actually didn't see many people point out. Hey Bobby Wagner did this to kind of almost flew under the radar a little bit so I wanted to ask you why you did it. Why you win about you know the deal your own way instead of having an agent do it Just you know I really challenge myself to learn the business and I think in learning business You know I felt like there was opportunity for me to Kinda show that players are smarter than people give them credit for and you know I felt like business was something I wanna do. You know when I'm done and If I wasn't willing to take a chance of myself probably Take a chance you know when I was done playing football. So goes the right time for me to do it I felt like I was prepared to do it. I studied a lot prior to going into negotiations in so the time and opportunity was just right for me. Something I wanted to do. I feel like I occurs players to even if they don't take the same route that I'd took but to understand the business that we end because You know a lot of us. Don't walk away with what we what we earn in so we gotta do a better job at that starts from the knowledge of you know how sometimes we can get taken a Banjo and Really being mindful of ourselves our business intriguing ourself in Abrazos. So when you see deals reported now at first and it's the total money and it's not the guarantees and maybe there's an injury guarantee are you always looking at them and thinking all right. Let's waiting to get all the details. You got to me at the end of the day like they put it out to make good at first and so once they put the the deal out You got to see whether is would says it is or is not in. So I've always banked on an Internet that especially you know at my previous deals. You not wanted to you know when I negotiated my day. I wanted to be something that people respected and somebody not. You can really pick apart. And so I felt like I did that in like you said it Kinda Don't know it's they want players to do that for themselves in our and leave it at that. But I don't think they might for ages don't for sure Is a lot of people that don't and so I think that's probably why you want to keep their business going with you. Know I have nothing against a business. I feel like there's a Lotta as is out there. That do a great job with. There's a lot of agents that don't lie. And so when you saw sherm deal and he got criticized a lot you rarely see Agents get criticized. You know when they're done doing their idea whether it's good or bad news and so I found interesting but It worked out for me and and Pope in guys Learned visits that we end so we can really make an impact we do. Now I think about you Sherman Russell. Akin like something in the water in Seattle to a lot of free thinkers count. Not Man you know how to think about thanks I guess. Seattle seems to be okay with with them. We had a lot of guys that were very different teams so yes breast happen. I Dunno just they just did a really good job of picking people that were kind of like minded and You know wanting more than just to be good football players. WanNa talk to you a little bit about legacy so two thousand fifteen. Tony Dungy voted for you for MVP. I think you are a future hall of Famer. I think you are the best middle linebacker. The last ten years. Don't ask me panthers fans. I don't care we had to be a little bit surprised to get the MVP right a little bit. Because I feel like they don't really value defenders when it comes to that award it doesn't matter how great it was season. Somebody has you look at a guy like Donald amount of sexy and the presence that he has on football field. You know you just knew. He was having an amazing season. But you knew that wasn't gonNA be awarded. He's GonNa take home because it's typically goes to a quarterback now think the last person that I think did it was Lawrence Taylor back in like eighty six and so I think at some point you know defense will get some love but I was very grateful when I when I see. It's finally you say that and I believe Russell Wilson has never received an MVP. Even the season I don't think he got any yes. It's it's an interesting thing I don't really know what goes into you. Know the voting process. But he's had some amazing seasons dust as being. So hopefully he'll get his time and hopefully That's something I l COM again. I don't know what goes into that but I definitely feel that. He's a guy that deserves to be. Do you think he's underrated? If you would actually have a couple of years ago. I feel like they didn't appreciate. His talent is much but I think you know especially the last year. I think people are starting to realize how great quarterback yeas and how much you know. He does for offense and really appreciating what he does on a football field from. You know running and throwing 'cause at first you know. A lot of people don't really was all about passing. They didn't really appreciate the running and NASA like. It's starting to change. Because he's starting to see more quarterbacks. Do both really really well and so. I'm hoping that he is just too. Who's the quarterback who nobody properly appreciates how mobile they are and you would know? Is You know facing them. In that regard I would say probably Aaron Rodgers was was great. Sneaky athletic he deceptively quick. Bobby I don't know if the snake yeah. I think that's football players. You was he he takes off from. He's able to gain some yours. And you know you respective but I think too early in his career. I'd say yeah he would be a guy that you're you know if you know because you worried about you know how will he passes as sometimes you leave him with space and he. You know fifteen yards really quickly. So He's a guy's got kind of pay attention and don't let armed full that he can take off to. Yeah I mean even this draft. Do College football you watch a lot. I don't anymore. I used to watch it. I don't pay attention to anymore. Once they put the targeting Hulan and they start kicking his out And making a mishaps and stuff like that. I just couldn't watch. I was GONNA say Justin Herbert and Joe Borough. I think not enough. Either of them are on your schedule. But they're both pretty quick but Everyone's you're not gonNA hear about the very fast but I find out about college players. I have to ask on behalf of seahawks fans You know Seattle surprise a lot of people by taking off ball linebacker in the first round and his coach said he coached you. And that I'm talking my Jordan Brooks and your He reminded him of us. So what can you tell us about? I know you're not watching Texas Tech. But what can you tell us about him and how he might be? An addition to the SEAHAWKS team this season. I think Matt Wells was. The Was Our quarterbacks coach. When I was there so coach Anderson is the one that coached me in coach clone. Coast me But he saw me. So you have an idea But you know I think. A lot of people were surprised by But today you WanNa pick the best position in. I feel like it's kind of You know hopefully a good sign. That people are starting to value The linebacker resistant by the off. The ball linebacker position. So I'm supporting it. I'm excited to have him on a team excited to bring a man and again you know. He's like talking about before we're going to try to help them. The best can because we don't get to be around like normal and so once. We you know hopefully disdain kinda clear as we're able to. Kinda get back when everything is safe. I know myself in. They will gladly take him out of our way in and tell them everything that we know today. We want everybody to be successful when everybody would be able to provide for their families. Yeah and he might get to see the field in another role maybe at Sam or something right so yeah we'll figure it out once you get. Yeah I just Kinda WanNa ramp on the football stuff just by asking you a little bit about about the linebacker position and you know because at this point I think career we're starting.

It's also a crazy time when you realize. I'm the healthiest person on the set. Everyone else isn't doing the work we're doing. Most people aren't in fucking program. They're being run by their ego and their insecurity and their DADS fucking the way their dad talk to them. They're still talking to people and it's like you don't get to do this. Yeah like the answer's no because then I leave with my self esteem corroded. Yeah so That's I think also what PA- Tiger will is done. I can now use it as a place and you can outcome is everything was for nothing and use it and get that ad money. Yeah so a super important..

"Yeah so it's not as if that person that's on that billboards a happy there could be suffering as well yes it. Does you know what you look at that Bill. Go fix it. That's me didn't fill the whole you and one billboard wow. I remember the first time I got a billboard but I thought only one million not enough are you WANNA bill but right now with a dog that's living and thank you. Oh He's at really driving bite real. Quick Oh Whitney I mean probably I mean you've you're you've never been on the bill for charity but I think there's one right now that's pretty ubiquitous with the lithium on dog. I teach you that's right. I think I'll wait at Asians. Wow but I don't think so but that was my first feeling. I thought my first special comedy central. I wonder who was running it at the time. I thought I literally said I want to billboard. I've never negotiated anything. I don't even want money. I want a billboard. I literally set it. Steve SMOOK can corroborate. I said there were like That's like a crazy and cry wanted a billboard because I wanted people to know like it was like some weird old and I'm sure it was my dad's inner monologue going to billboard because you can mean a million movies people not in La go will. Where's the billboard? Yeah you know what I mean. 'cause YOU WANNA billboard. I think I'll tell you why in my opinion why would want one because it not only that is. There's so I was on split up together and I was not on any of the billboard goes with a family and I begged them to go. If you're GONNA put me on a billboard can you put it on the Warner Brothers on Bar hands everyone? Everyone stuck in traffic. Our and I want my enemies to see it. That's the point of a bellboy. It'd be just me on the side or whatever the poses. Yeah Yeah. It's so sick and I remember asking for a billboard. I didn't get the 'cause there's a comedy central run right above the convenience store next to the comedy star. I wanted I wanted. I wanted the booker at the Communist to get me fucking spot a lot about how you know. This is all strategic. You know that like every studio they strategically put billboards around like Adam Sandler. They put a billboard on the corner of where his houses of his movies. So that you know what I mean wrong they. They know where celebrities live and they put him a lot right. The Rock all the posters Ron near his house but then you drive received. There's so and that's the other funny Mirage about a billboard as you see a billboard of yourself are like everywhere and you know there's one not across America But yet doesn't work. It doesn't work. Yeah and you know what else I loved one time? This kind of changed my life when I heard this Bill Murray was on Howard Stern and Howard said it seems like you hate being famous. You know like why. Don't you like being famous? And he said my advice to people that WANNA be famous is get rich and see if you still want to be famous What you actually want us to be rich It's not the fame you think you want the fame Damon money. Don't come hand in hand. I was known before I had money which was even weirder. I was like on punked em TV show. People recognize me and I was in debt like mad. Tv You we got forty five hundred dollars a week crazy and then people are like hey do your own. I can't be hungry you know so. I thought that was an interesting thing so now when I'm like I want that thing that thing I'm like you know what no I don't I want to do that. Corporate gig in Tampa and get corporate gig money and put money in the bank. Yeah can I say something what this is gonna sound so cheesy but this is what changed. I think so when I went to my dad died and went to pcs this place and it's a Metro PCs p. s. p. I don't know what it's called but It's a psychology place. Psc and I was there for a couple of weeks and I was still using drugs and Psychology plays inside a sidewalk psychology I were talking about being mindful about living in the moment in one session or whatever and I is associated when I walked out of that therapy session I saw for the first time. Life in HD. Like I saw the world you know and I walked by this pink Bush and there was like these little leaves and these leaves look like spiders because in in in these little ants were trying to fight to get on and I sat there for like five minutes looking at this Bush in an ahead a spiritual awakening that. I've really felt for the first time in the moment and grounded and and just really looking at what now is right and by doing that. It's changed every how I feel about myself when I wake up. I don't feel like you know what I mean. There's a truck on top of me. I feel so light and You know it's it's sad to say that it took my dad to die to get there. But you know in. In retrospect It's sad that he's GonNa miss him so much. But it is like a cloud over us at our primary caretakers. If it was negative is a cloud. I mean when my dad passed. I didn't do anything for I took a year off like I was going to like animal rescues and like hanging out with wolves and rescuing B.'s. Like I was so lost because I realize everything I've ever done is to get his approval. That was my engine and now he's gone and I just felt very aimless in the room and he passed. No Oh wow would happen. So did you see him? It was freak. He had both. My parents had strokes like in the same year like aunt. My Dad was in. Icu like outside Savannah and he couldn't walk her move any of his body and so I I visited him like a bunch of times but then he passed in a really fucked up like freak. Like obscene awful. Like Way and I knew right away were at his house or the hospice. He was at a hospital And in this particular one Healthcare in America as maybe heard not great and at this facility in the south. If you have a child who is mentally ill schizophrenic bipolar. And someone can't care for you. They just put them in nursing homes with elderly people. Oh there was just an accident. Yeah Oh wow it was like I mean there's I it's kind of wild because to me. He went out the way he lived. What the fuck does even add up. Does you make sense like I've never heard of. There's there's no way to prepare for this like everyone was like. We don't even know what to do. The logistics were so crazy in the whole thing was so unbelievable that it did kind of Anesthetize the pain and shock. 'cause like instantly having to deal with logistics right which is right and I don't think I ever process at. I think it's always GonNa be on a shelf. Did he did growing up did? He wasn't physically abusive psychological. Dad Actually you know it's interesting as I get older You know the more I obviously have so much compassion for my parents and forgiveness where my parents and true love for my parents because I do. It's taken ten years in a twelve step program to I truly say this is not like some brainwash it or like what. I would my sponsors to keep them coming back. I truly think they did the best. They can and probably better than they were capable of wall once. You really understand. How addiction works. I understand that my parents fucking overcame neurological Sort of they overcame neurology to show up for me like the fact that they showed up for me at all my dad he would forget to pick them up from school. I'm like the fact that I got to school like. That's how I look at it now. You know like I mean it has taken doing you know third. Step ten step every day for ten years. But I'm literally like I look at my childhood now. 'cause I coming in. The program was so dangerous. I used to like take pills that I found on the ground. I almost died when I was a year old. I put like a pill in my mouth had to go to the hospital. Like you know dropping things you know my sister and I would run away for days at a time. Nobody would notice like we were in so much danger. All people in the house like random like really dangerous shit and I went in the program. I'm such a victim. I led with so hard I would share stories about my childhood in. Aa Double winners and Alanon meetings. People would gasp. It takes a lot to get some kind of all my God yeah. Dan used to sing a song to us Before we got out of the car he go. Who Do you trust? And we'd go. No one got to be alive. No it's the funniest thing you go. Who Do you trust? And we go daddy really trust. And no one was his motto and then he would tell us that motto and then when pick us up from school we trust anyone then he wouldn't show up but then he would show up every now and then and he would do Scenes from three Amigos when member see MARLA. Go Look here look here at school. And he was the funniest person when he did show up person on the planet which makes it even more confusing for a child and I think for me I definitely defaulted to when he goes away. It's my fault I wasn't funny enough. I wasn't smart enough. I wasn't pretty enough. I was a good enough whatever that was just the narrative I built but that wasn't true now that I understand addiction so now as an adult I go on no no I understand why my inner child wide defaulted to that at five years old. But I know that's not true. Addiction makes you hurt people you love and that's just sometimes the people you love. You hurt the most now that I understand addiction. I know that none of that was personal. My Dad we used to do as humor. You would get drunk. I'd have like a friend. Spend the night hugh run in my room naked. And he'd run out and he'd have a toilet paper sticking out of his ASS. Hughes had totally paper in his ass because it was so moist and he would turn on God and he would just run out and it'd be like hilarious and no no you'd have to explain to your friend like traumatic. Oh your friends were over embarrassing alcoholic and that was funny. But it's really fucking embarrassing. I'm so sorry you know and I think about now that I understand addiction the amount of shame that it requires to drink as much as I saw it on my God. These people were full of fucking miracle. It's a fucking Mir with with the stuff that you grew up with. It's the miracle where you're at in life but saying you and I had fucked up you know I mean we are things growing up and we were able still to come here and you know get a career. And it's you know in many ways resilient in many ways I say all the things that all the essentially like arm right developed. What IN PROGRAM. We call character defects. I like to call superpowers. Because you know we can do a fucking anything people are like. Oh you have to audition in front of nine people. Nothing stresses me out I come from actual chaos go on stage at the comedy store in the morning with people throwing.

Today is such a big part of my life for about three weeks. That's now over rest in peace. A what's Emmy so? My son got to meet the governor which is really cool and he got a picture with them and the whole class and he's standing by him and I was trying to get him like more interested and the school took a field trip to the governor. Yeah that's cool. I like nail my act to meet governor. Mike Huckabee back in the day. They just win in the pictures really cool and good. I. He wasn't pro like taking in. Like what a big deal that was but I mean I was excited. He's learning about the state and the history and then I explained to him how I was like. Hey Bobby he's going to run for Governor one day of Arkansas and that'll be so cool like y'all met two and then all of a sudden he got more interested once he realized that like being governor was super cool like you made it cool so thank you for them your your hypothetical but right now but he he he was more into it but I thought it was called at the school. Took them there? He'll like that picture when he gets older. Does have one of them and the governor. Yeah it's the whole class. But he's in That's pretty cool. Apparently he's standing next to a girl that he likes but he likes all the girls so soon I will lead you to it now but you have a great story about your son and girl a girl gabby be able to tell that one yes okay. Es Can we'll give a little more time. Yeah I just WanNa make sure for sure. I have permission from the other person over the lunchbox a man girl scouts. Where are you? It's girl scout cookie season and used to you. Go out public. Can you see them everywhere in front of every store? There's girl scouts cookies. Now you go out crickets. There's no girl. Scouts anywhere selling cookies. You guys are slacking. You need to hit the streets so we can buy some cookies. I saw this weekend. I think it's probably A time thing right if you can sell more online than you can't out on the streets or are they doing that. Sure I'm online. I also saw work email to that. Somebody's kid was selling girl scout cookies. Anyone want him. Yeah that's laziness I need a girl scout to ask me. I need a girl scout out there. Pounding the pavement trying to sell the cookies. Mom asking me and I can't find him anywhere. It's very frustrating. Go door to door these days but that to be the thing people. I had to do that. Like what you're seeing is. It's just safer for kids not to be out talking with random adults going. Give me money. Thanks to go into homes like this. Which thirty me to amy. We're going to people's houses that you wouldn't even know what she was an adult. Yeah like into the back room. That's not good craigslist office into my office girl scout cookie aiming then meant to me to put them in the freezer. Eat them that way. The way trucks shortbread off delicious. Eddie point breath. You guys are good. Gov. they're finding pretty good. What's your second favorite? Samoa like this That's me I also called something else. Did change them or maybe they brought about the carmelites thing. You know what we're seeing. Kayla needs she does pop tarts. Like what flavor did have icing or put the butter? Yeah you make fun of her for that. I respect it. I haven't had one yet because I haven't been in my my. You're GONNA try so she has pop tarts and takes butter and put it on top of it. What what is happening with you? I've never heard of that all right. A Eddie Sir. My son just turned twelve and he celebrated his interesting. He wanted his party. A Dave and buster's. I'm like wow I haven't been to Dave and buster's celebrate a party like ever but that's what he wanted to do when I enjoyed it because they have beer there all you. You've done this already happened this weekend. Interesting yeah so as good I mean I it. Thank the food's great and it's not like pizza. It's good food like regular good food than adult would want. And then they just play games and he's at that stage now where like he doesn't want any of me or my my wife around because it's his party and they get to hang out at a table so I didn't have to do anything I'd have to pass or make sure everything was done right. Hit French. Gum Yeah hit about ten friends. That will come to a birthday party. And I'm so proud of him because they were they're good kids like I just expect one of them. Just be like a little jerk. None of them are jerks. There are really good kids. They're just at that age. Where like they can totally be jerk if they WANNA? They're not did they collect tickets. Was that a thing. Yes they collect tickets And they get a card and literally it's unlimited for three hours and they can just go and get whatever so ended up getting a lot of tickets that an expensive party. It's a little more expensive than chucky cheese. But it's worth it because we don't have to do anything. Yeah I'll have to swallow now in big all right there. You go a glad you guys are here appreciate you. WanNa hit me up on instagram. It's at Mr Bobby bones. The show page there are a lot of clips that could push it from the show. A lot of live performances. I just watched the Tim McGraw performance from last week which is real good. We have a bunch of cameras in the studio now and so you can watch a lot of these performances on our instagram page. Because we can't put him up on the podcast right Morgan. Yeah so we only put him up on Instagram instagram. Tv is the only place. So at bobby bones show for that. The bobby bones show. Podcast highlight segment of the day to a DM on her instagram. I'll read it. Okay amy what's up with bobby and his girlfriend. I think it's a PR thing. This newfound relationship is not him? He has been way too open with this one. In the past. He has been guarded. What do you think here's my because I got Tagged on someone saying this to what am I getting out of it? There's no I'm not doing a reality show. There's there's nothing that I'm getting. Pr Wise from this. So I don't understand how people think it's a PR stunt and no by the way. It's not the dumbest thing ever heard. Yeah and now maybe not the dumbest thing I've ever heard but it's it's up there. It's one of the dumber things I've heard. It's okay we know that that's just a saying we're not taking literature. Do doesn't let us say wild whenever I say this is the worst. Bobby always goes well but is it really bad. But I don't know I don't literally mean the words are just mean they'll worse because I'm being dramatic but I did reply to them and I was like not a PR thing it's real. I don't know why people keep thinking it's a stunt because again. Yeah what would you be unless you just like needed a girlfriend for something that we don't know about but I don't I know PR benefit for me? Why can't people just let me be happy right? It's a good question though because you are a little different than you've ever acted with this coming online or you know just different online general. I'm asking what he means. Because this person thinks you are. I can different the other day. You said like I don't you. You said you were joking and even if you weren't joke it's okay. What are you gonNa say it on their own problem on this show? We talk a lot off the air to install time o o on the area's a joke. Wow you fall asleep. We don't really do you. Do we do talk every night on facetime because she lives in California so we talk every now and facetime so then. You seem happy. What's wrong with that thing? But there's like suspicious. How about doing a lot of work myself go? I was talking with Colby Kelly about this last night on my podcast on the bobby cast and I said you know I'm a very goal oriented person when I decide. I want something I go out loud meaning can write it down or say it out loud but this is what I want and then I tried to get from A. TO B. and I said to myself last year but halfway through the year I would like to be functional interrelationship. It doesn't mean have to one right now but I need to work on myself before I can work on me with someone else so I started going to therapy and having a mirror shine back on me and the right ways and I was able to realize a lot of things and I'm still working through them after therapy today at two o'clock and so I put me in a place where I could even be open to relationship and then I met a great girl. That's it so get off me. Everybody can't you? Just let your boy be happy so it. I just don't have the benefit a PR stunt. Because if you did you do it or not a long time ago and if it were a PR stuff you get with somebody famous you know and she works in sales. I don't want anybody in entertainment Been through that and great people but for me. It's it's a lot to have to be running both of those but thank you for sharing that clear. The area cleared. Keaton in. Montana is on the phone right now. Hey Keaton what's going on with you dude wondering how they're going good. What's w what do you want to give his? Cna mental back. Yeah how did you get that metal to begin with He gave it to me when we were at the dinner We didn't get one. Yeah I think goes here you can have mine so he put it around my neck and so I walked around all night and gotten some photos and then at the end of the night I took it home did you ever get it back Hillary the Utility Hillary Senate back to his label. Okay so he did get back. Yeah I told her she should leave the door and he should come get it if he wants it because that shows you how much he really wants it but she took it upon herself to go above and beyond and go give it back to them is hey just joke when he was putting it on so he didn't get it back yes so he got it back so. I don't have it Keaton going to pass it on to my kids. Hey how you feel about that works for me all right but anything else you WANNA know you good. Good appreciate you guys. I appreciate you by Jesse in Florida. Jesse appreciate your call and the show. What's going on with you Morons Stadium?.

"Came into the room. I smell trouble this Damon a nose like a toothpick on a face like and she was tough. She was smart and she had a problem. I could tell I'm a private I. I told her I had nothing time lady. I got nothing but time she took out a five five dollar. Bill laid it on my desktop. Smooth it out real flat and then she spoke. He's he has a five dollar. Bill could see it was and I said so lady I can see that she took a long drag on her silver in. I got a whiff of Chanel. Look check. She called me chuck though. My name isn't chuck but I like that. A woman chat. I like privacy. Yeah I got an unpublished Bush number. Yeah I got an unpublished address. Yeah I got blanked plates from my Bentley Sue. What's going on this is what those lark could? You sounded like to me like okay so only one discover three quarters of the way through through this. The the whole piece is about some mysterious secret message in a judge in the Bush yes some non tobacco sometime dollar ninety two yes. There was numbers written on the Bush. Yes at the Lincoln Memorial. There was a theory that the artists you know. The bureau of engraving hires humans artist artists to design it and so I was tipped or must've read in the collector's magazine. Who knows that that the five dollar bill contained a secret number and all I had to do is look for for it and when I was shown where it was I couldn't not see it? It was always there. So that's a perfect radio story. You get make everybody listening. You take their five dollar bill and see thing they will see because I saw it but it wasn't actually a number on the back of I'm guessing you choose. No you use one piece in a in a five and a half minute story you use one six second bit of tape of some actual person who is looking at the at the five dollar bill not seeing the number or not seeing not seeing the number he sees a different set of numbers in UC argue. About what numbers are there which leads me to it. Wasn't it wasn't wasn't as obvious as I remember. Now that it was maybe a disadvantage. 'CAUSE that was like forty thirty five years ago but But what's amazing about this is that it's it's so entire like the whole point of it seems to be for you. All those doesn't sleep see also. It was a chance I guess for me to make a film noir like of my own I could just make one for myself. I just think that's amazing that you're you're You Go. I don't even know what the story is about until three quarters of the way through. But I'm still riveted. Yeah well I think it's a little magical to me when you listen to. NPR these days to Remember that would national public radio started. It a wasn't much listen to wasn't highly esteemed that's very important and we didn't have any money Those three things put together. I may have ninety minute show to do every single day and there were things that we used to do on. All things considered that you know. I don't think would I think they would make people's people poop in their pants if they heard from now the next category best improvisation position because one donald things are I one of the things that I will always see. I always have such a cliche. I think we would do. We could do the best blooper real of any show in history of media but mostly when you get on when you catch a win on some thing like Dan. Dan Dan delory order now. Dan Dan Dailey. What is it done? Dorrell the Danny or something there was I feel so relieved that you have to endure some release those tickets. Maybe you're like terenure. You know when you here too many consonants though you just can't get them out of your head and just repeat them in poor jealous listens to them in the studio over and over again better yet we went there. They're immortalized fantasia. Save some of them. So I think that the One of the nominees is a constant pile up battle between Bethel talk with Bethlehem Beauty Libido Birds Baobab throat clearing singing. Improvisation okay so in the next category this one is I think a little bit more pertinent to the spirit of the show. Best last question to to set this one up. You've heard me say this before one of the most kind of amazing mazing qualities of working with you is that you always consistently ask a question that I would never think to ask but then suddenly you must know the answer to and in this case it was one of these things that you threw out in the middle of an interview and it became the basis for the best loved moment in our most downloaded show of all time. Oh this is the shrimp the shrimp so we were. We were talking to this scientists asking him all these questions about how we perceive color. And how color is sort of outside of us and yet we only make sense of internally and in the middle of this interview just tossed out A to. Here's a question. If a dog and the human and a crow were to be staring wearing a rainbow. Would they be seeing very different. Things knows it. Yeah I remember that I was just like I remember the there. Was that when you ask that question. All of a sudden.

"In my old age on the Atlantic City Boardwalk. That's the that's what I prefer to think of it as but viewed another way it's A person who never much left his his own circle of joy in the stadium site himself and flattered himself rate down to death. That's less of a good advertisement for oneself or this might be just you know. Some of deep learning disability taking notes notes from any scrutiny of New New York City. It's the forty fifth annual Bobby Award with your host. The judge jury and Sir Robert Bought we. Have you ever done anything yourself where you quietly think. It should win bobby lobby no are does that. Violate the very rules of the Bobby's well. It also goes to something that I just feel like I. I've been really lucky to a degree that I can't really can't quite understand. I've had a chance to go into one place after another some of them quite straight places. ABC News and Frontline places like that and I pushed it so that I could do what I like to do. which is to explore sometimes from a not particularly sophisticated place? What I'm looking at and it's fact it's sort of always been a sense sense that I've had that I must have been A little bit slower than everybody else and I felt that way and I thought well maybe what I could do is I could take that slowness and turn it into an advantage because for many subjects depending on who you are it could be ice. Hockey could be economics or it could be irregular verbs in French or whatever most people know nothing at all so if you WanNa talk about irregular verbs you might have to say. Here's what a verb is. And why why would you use the word irregular. What is irregular verb an ordinary question? And I've always done that but it's never seemed to me to be champagne of work. It just seems to me to be the my my daily business that being said Robert What we've decided to do as a staff is that we're going to honor you my friend with some bobby's piece. Of course it is not within our. We can't do the book and the committee were not to go home. We're going to do hyphenate. BOBBY'S WE'RE GONNA do a Johnny Bobby's Joe. Bob's all sorts of staff. Bobby's these are these are bobby's where the where these are awards. Bobby's given to you throughout your career moments throughout your your tenure with radio. I don't know if this entirely I think this is i. I think it's going to it's going to be. I mean look. We spent seventeen years together. Yes we have had say at least a decade of it separated by this Alexa glass. Yes and there. We've we've created a lot of radio moments and so we're going to honor some of them with bodies who The inaugural Bobby Jedi Bobby Steph. Bobby's awards show with your host and presenter Jed.

"New K.. It would also I was thinking about what we're well into the twenty first century. I think of myself as the twentieth century boy. I'm nineteen something. Something nineteen this nineteen. I'm fifty six hundred so to be twenty twenty. That's like well into the next one. Oh you into the twenty first. Yeah Right Okay Oh and you think of yourself as the twentieth yes I feel a little like deep keeping a foreign land called the future Robert. You're a man for all seasons. I don't but the question. Hey jaboomer on. This is radio lab so as we said at the beginning of the last episode here at the end of the month Robert will be retiring from the show. This is something that he and I have been talking about for awhile. Something we've been talking talking about with the staff for Awhile and for the last few months we've been trying to figure out As a team like how do we send him off with the right way to say goodbye and and we decided let's interview him the way he and I have interviewed thousands of people over these last seventeen years working together so I made list questions. We've written them down on your phone. I have prepared for this conversation as I would any other. I suppose that's very professionally. All these different questions about the places he likes likes to go In the city of this series of questions about Robert in dating APPs which. I'm not going to explain. But it was actually the first first question I had written down. That ended up taking us down some unexpected paths. So let me just ask you what they are. The bobby's the mob is a little bit of a cork. I decided sited at some point. We'll your name is Robert. That's right. We serve bobby that I would create an award like the Oscars which I would name after myself. Called the Bobby's obese. One was the first bobby I think it was in the early Seventies. And I was thinking of awarding things that I am the rule about the bobby's where I would have have a audience experience. I am the audience and I would then award the person who created that Experience Abi and the difference between me on the Oscars and some of the Lesser Surro- was is that I would award the creator of whenever he or she did. The act of creation was not important. It was when I consumed it so you could have a a bobby in which Judy Garland for playing a role she played in nineteen thirty. Nine would be up against somebody who played a a a movie. That was two weeks old to chow thick skin. Bobby Well Charles. Dickens would always get this caused all kinds of problems were soon as he would walk into the room with the book and all the other officer said well. I don't see why we even have to write books anymore so I would then. My wife decided that I had because I always had a very very weak Memory System. I found myself awarding things that mostly I had consumed in very end of October early. November was thanksgiving. Yeah because anything that I had seen in January February or the previous December so she's decided to give me a bobby book. Oh you brought the Bobby's book I did producers Bellhop Day and match healty had Bobby Kay bring in his bobby book. It's a black book with a red binding. It has ingold a picture of the Bobby Statue. which is Bobby With to all the winners written in it so it starts in nineteen seventy seven this this ripped pages because one of the consultants. My wife got so angry at me for not letting her be part of the deciding group that she ripped in a temper tantrum the page out which. Why didn't you let her be part of the process of Bobby Bobby and others books that so that this here is just anger frozen in time and place here? Seventy seven seems to have only winners. That doesn't seem any DESTIN's lives of a cell by Lewis. It was Thomas One book of the year still crazy after all these years by Paul. Simon Ron Song of the year friendly fire from the New Yorker by CD Bryant won best magazine Article All of the year Somebody named Hi Glen would climbing Swiss Mountain in the New Yorker won best short story of the year. And Annie Hall Woody Woody Allen Movie of the year for colored girls who considered suicide when the rainbow is not enough one. The play of the year the Ritzy Forte Award was not awarded that year Ricci Forte is the name of the Special Award for the best cartoon of the year no winners that year. Nineteen seventy seven and then nineteen in nineteen ninety years past and I would put in the winners play of the year six degrees of separation by John to all the different categories nineteen seventy-nine best this book of the year the press by a j league performance by an actress Fernanda Montenegro. Two Thousand Five A. You're a big fan of notebook. I was I cried during the notebook and I would announce them sometimes too winners themselves which was always a little bit of mixed sort of thing and then in my mind. Of course there's a red carpet and it's flush and there's there's a tremendous Paparazzi. Knew it can ask you a question via. So when you're awarding bobby's was it always to esteemed people. Was it it to the threat or could it be to just Joe. Who makes a really good could be to jog? Verdi's requiem as sung at Andy Closures Britain. This is my first cousin when he turned sixty. We rented a chorus and sang the bass part in Verdi's requiem. There wasn't the things like there's some things I give A special tribute for like kind of lifetime achievement. Award kind of thing various architects and cartoonists. And also these moments bobby there are moments in my life that year where I had a feeling of just glory or just joy or can you. Yeah let's see two two thousand in Times Square who Redwood forest that's with my wife what else is use either one says At my mother's bed April two thousand when she died. Why was that a moment for you to be like watching Jeopardy and I hired a person to take care of her that night and I walked about seven blocks and I got a phone call as she was doing really well in jeopardy and the lady who had never met my mother. I think your mother just died so I ran back and she was dead and You know that that was completely shocking. When she was sick but and she said she was kept saying? I'M GONNA die but She was into that sort of thing from at least and so there she wants she was dead. Ed and I sat on the bed looking at a wounded. Still warm and it was my mother. You know that that was a moment. The moments don't have to be like always pleasant. They can just be searing or things that you never will forget that moments before she passed away she was answering jeopardy questions correctly. That's a really great way to go shoes jeopardy nick but I don't know if I got older it gets really bit. Surreal as as it got into the into the more recent years. It gets alarming because the book DOC begins to run out of pages getting down to the last thirteen pages the same book from seventy seventy. Yeah when it gets to eighteen. The book stops like they were out of pages ages so I said to my daughter looked Nora if the bobby book ends in two thousand eighteen. Isn't it follow. Perhaps it's the night today the your father will end in two thousand eighteen so she ran to the deepest Brooklyn and found a book binder. And said could you like double all the Bobby Book and we bind it so my father could live longer so my father could live longer so now look at this. This is this is means that you're going to have to deal with me All these years you didn't add even more pages. It covers about twenty five. You might be yeah twenty by by then I'll be like ninety something so I'm I'm a twenty forty seven. I'll be one hundred so I don't think I wanna go that far so this looks just about about right actually and then have the feeling. They're happy unless I get run over by truck of like you know pretty much being a life well-lived or rather well consumed hume with all of these rewards compressing like your whole adult years until like a tiny book which makes it feel a lot shorter order and smaller than it actually was like. There's I mean that's an interesting subject to me. Like there is a fellow who invented a thing. Mathematics is heels in New Jersey at Princeton instant and he loves to just measure himself so he'll send me the number of times. He touched the letter t during the month of May on his computer. What what or the amount of hours? He slept the amount of hours of the eighth amount of hours that he showered the amount of hours that he I was on the telephone for the whole year. You know worked out and then sends me all these bar graphs and stuff but the different people you know Different people reflect differently about themselves and you know for a person who's very mathematical like this guy. It make sense to him a deep sense that he can be expressed in data points. And I don't know he feels them the way I guess a great eight mathematician loves pattern. Feel so he sees the pattern of himself in my case. This is called When I enjoyed myself extravagantly whether it was reading or going to see something or having experience or well I felt the intensity of being alive? That's a different kind kind of measure and someone else. Would you know. Write a memoir or letter to their grandchildren. Coldwell I remember when your Grandpa so there's thousands of ways to do this us and to some degree this is not most flattering. My particular form of compression. Either it's self. Help book to keep me. You know comfortable.

"So that had happened pinch who boy. I mean one of the more Enlightening I would say conversations. I've had on the show. I can't believe you didn't tell him. Ah that you like to show. How many did I mentioned? You told me how much you just told. The I talked about it. Well why wouldn't you. I should've I should've mentioned it at least once. Oh my God it is though isn't it. I mean it is but I say it a lot I know you do. Yeah but I I like I wanted to tell him it. So it's good for the world it is you do. It was very gusty though. Yeah gross no it was. It was a justified. It wasn't like it wasn't phony. That's the thing I know how much you enjoy the show. So wasn't it would have been you know because when I was watching I was also I kept trying to take mental notes of moments. Were just too many of them. One will replace the last one in such so immediately that like it's hard to even keep track of all of these moving moments of the show. Yeah and if you watch the show I think you'll well I. I would say you watched the show than the I thirty or so minutes of that interview will make a lot more sense because you talk about a lot of specific things from the season. I know I won't really make sense if you haven't seen it but that's any if you are intrigued by what you heard and you want to see it hopefully and inside that inside baseball talk will motivate you to see you. Yeah didn't bore you. Because I I guess what we could have been given a disclaimer before the show and said if you haven't seen look at least one or two episodes of the show you should maybe watched that before you listen to the first thirty minutes. I think a lot of people have seen the show so I very popular show I looked up. They have huge followings on just on instagram. You can tell how much people like. Yeah I thought it was very interesting. How the producers? I wanted to kind of a carbon copy of the original. Yes makes sense is exceedingly successful fitting broke but Those guys to their credit has had more sympathy and empathy. Yeah and they sort of organically remove the show in a different direction which I very impressive and speaks to them an important which I think is maybe the ten th time. I've said that were but but that to me is what would have turned me off a show like like queer. Well that's what he talks about. He says that Calling it queer eye now. Yeah even though. They're kind of stuck with the name. Name it really does a disservice to the show. It's pretty misleading. Not only because it makes people think of the first incarnation of the show which is so different like we said but also because if you're at all kind of person who is would be reluctant to watch a show called queer eye if you're from a certain part of the country then in you're gonna be missing out on something that is you'll probably really enjoy right whereas if it were called five five five people helping other people and that's not a very good. You're not going to naming things. I'm trying to give a name that that it didn't elude to their Queer Quinonez say if the life changers. That's good. Oh yeah soul makeover. That's good anyway. It didn't allude to their gender or their sexuality. Anything like that and it just happened to be these five guys and they happen to be right because that's kind of what the show is over. Now the show is has very very little to do with the fact that there which is why it's interesting they call it straight. It's not it's not clear is pretty straight for for anybody in fact. Sometimes it's queer eye for the other Queer Guy. Hi You have a hard time pronouncing Koroma's name all Tiro Kerama Karama Kurama. And he tells me it's Kerama didn't you have been calling him ankerium. Oh I did even in the No. No but I'm saying before you were corrected. Oh Yeah I know. I know that's how you pronounce it but you've been saying Karema Carimo and I think it's because I think I know why I think it might be. What do you think what do you think Well I think it's because he is a caramel color skin. No I know. Well maybe I don't know how your brain works. It seems like it would suit him. CARAMEL CARAMEL I. I was GONNA say I'm seeing a good way. I know I know I was. I was probably care no but I was thinking so different. And what were you thinking. Brothers Karamazov search or that. Care Care. Matt's up maybe I should have taken credit for that I should like yes. That's why I'm really funny. Dostoevsky right I think so yeah brothers. Paramount tolstoy now. It's such idiots. Well not really. We know there's nothing New Year we should start reading reading. You're talking about how impressive he is. And how body was saying that it's because he ah comfortable silence and he's a great listener and I was never able to put my finger on what made him so impressive. And that's exactly what it is. It's that he's he's able to sit in silence and just like listen and wait for something to happen. I'm really bad at that I am too. I'm very I'm even even bad at that with people. I'm really generally very comfortable with. I still like filling the air. I don't know if that can be fixed in a person to me. At least that seems like a characteristic. That's so ingrained in me very hard time change. It might be something like could I wish I could do but but you know people kick all sorts of things like if they see if you can stop drinking or doing drugs. Maybe it's just a matter of confronting those silences and made a very conscious effort to sit in silence. Yeah I'm going to do well. I tried it on the show. And then you remember that People yeah and it's not about my own personal growth about people's entertainment detainment. Both you know I now that I maybe I'm telling myself I can sit in silence with people. I'm comfortable with but when it comes to like I don't know. Oh yeah that's that's a good family member ten minutes in silence. We don't know someone who is a long time long time. If I didn't say this already I meant to lead lead with this. That he is incredibly clear with his thoughts he was. He's a very clear. Communicator Bobby yes. He's very deliberate with with his words. Unlike what we're doing here there there was very little fluff when you when you ask a question. I never found myself thinking. I wonder where he's going or not really making a point like land the ship. He makes clear point. Well I think you would have to uh I think part of what makes him. Impressive job is that he makes incredible. He's able to make these decisions. He's very decisive about how to use a space. Because they do it with it has so little time to transform these environments. So I think you would have to really be clear about what you think is looks good and is going to work and I have a really hard time. I do a lot of hemming and hauling when even even the simplest redesigning I do in my spaces redesigning design redesign. What sounded weird about that sentence? Yeah you have to design before redesign it. Also impressive that he doesn't hate bigoted people because he yeah. He grew grew up around a lot of their Andrew. Standing very understanding Larry sympathetic. Yeah not sympathetic. Yeah I at one point. You said that most in your friends are gay in an attempt to via like woke as possible or like the. What's the word A AH when you want to get close to somebody phony. Oh I know you do you do about not just send like one of them. Doug Silsbee yeah you you have out doug now I'm kidding I'm kidding to know no but I would say most of your friends are straight if I if I guess we think yeah I would say seventy five percent of your friends or straight. Yeah I Kosovo. I guess you're right. I guess you're right. I actually. You're right in fact you still have a high I would say you have percentage of gay friends than percentage of KP. Remember Liz Aaron and Austin a lot of a lot of lesbian is you remember. We talked Queer Queer guys. We're mouth that's very well we're talking. I'm thinking of queer eye not for the straight guy. Yeah which off men. It's not queer guy it's queer eye you know they are your eyes show with five Dave Lesbians. Yeah he shames. Your impression of Tan was to Scottish. I don't know that you tried again and it was still constructed. It's sort of like it was always to front to Liverpudlian it. I it's not. It's not like that and you know it's I don't know ooh that's Scottish. What my doing but then his beaker impression was too hot? You high impressive that he could be doing. I know it's good. Yeah I know he's very confident. Yeah again you have to be you. Don't get to the ten year is without confidence. No now even if I did have queer is there's no way they'd be in that group of impressive and his husband's name Dewey Dough which is the best name ever heard. Yeah you were mad that I didn't talk about it. Yeah but I'm glad you said who gets to medical degrees do. Does we do not to do a do a female like him. I like a good Parmesan crisp to two. Oh Yeah I like Asia like him and I like Baker like him. Yes that's right you've launched him fish o'hare you both have facial hair now he does. He's got a beard. Beard is better though his so I just looked at the sides I at first I was just looking straight down the barrel and your goatee would be you better because you could just because it's Harrier sets it's more like unruly but his is. Yeah of course. He's course well he's designed in guy. Five of those guys are so much more impressive than I mean. Do you think that you've had a gear moment in the last decade Advan. When you sang the Aladdin do it with him? I'm just glad it wasn't filmed because if you've seen the excitement on my face oh I would've I pictured. Yeah but it is weird that that song. I wasn't exaggerating. I'm exaggerating when I say it's always in my head is but it's often ways as is often it's often a go off in your head. That's really annoying. They always get we start whistling. Yeah we let me think Now Oh no no. It's it's the police got now. You can't remember weird easy. That is strange. Yeah it's always in my head.

But only there's so many moments biden has his handlers are like bub-bubba but the thing is that's true Yeah it really is a mindset that we have and so I think and true of his generation absolutely we you know when he's he's my parents generation via I think him and my him. And my dad are the same age A few years different. Yeah and so for them just to see that. My relationship hip with Philip was was no different than my sister's with with her husband. And actually better. Yeah Yeah I think it was the first crack in their shell and then just issue no visibility building. They're taught that gay people are just sex crazed drug crazed You know diseased Karai praised drug right. Yeah it's a see that Oh that that's not not the case where they're just. They're just like everybody their husband. Well others fathers you. You know well the the narrative aides went through that filter to which was I think a huge I mean talk about damaging to a narrative. If you could give your kids south one piece of you look back at bobby the one who so ashamed and was really tormented. self-loathing what what what would you tell L. If you could be a professional athlete what sport would you play to to follow sports at all no no nor will. I can't say that I did no I don't I don't do the ball. Did you WANNA play. When you're Oh yeah? I played baseball basketball. Aw because you're you're you're athletic The funny thing is I was. I was not athletic as a child but oddly I'm I am as an adult now as an adult tried more for sports and I'm like like I should've maybe helping the world so my my issue issue was sports when I was younger was again. I was different And so I was always treated horribly on the teams and I was always an outsider and I was never accepted apted even though as a child like I wasn't gay right kids. See since you were different and they will instantly ostracize you. Yeah how did lead that. You weren't gay quote unquote. I didn't I didn't know you know what gay was you. Didn't I only knew. How are you feeling new? Gay was based on it. Was this horrible. Thing that that the pastor. We're talking about something that you know. But I still didn't know that was me and it wasn't until I would say. Nah maybe eighth grader intern. Probably ninth grade where we finally got the Internet every go. I was like well what I like. What was I crush? Well who do you remember. It was their celebrity or like a moment remarking Mark Marquis Marta. Yeah Yeah Calvin Klein Ad. Yeah that was straight peep it made straight people gay. What is your favorite movie of all time too long? Thanks for everything new. Yeah No of course. uh-huh it's basically an episode of Queer. It's they go into three people building each other up these two older drag Queens taking on this younger one telling them everything next grade about them and then ending up in this little town and teaching this town that people that are different are great and teaching. This town had a love themselves. Totally communicate indicate with themselves. Yeah I hadn't thought about it until I resold again recently. And there's a scene where the townfolk or down and they're having their red hot and wild strawberry festival and they're all dressed up in the town it's crazy in the town had just come to the defense of the drag Queens because this cop was looking for that And they were like they looked at each other and the like you know what sometimes it just takes a fairy. That's kind of an episode again. Another good motto is talking about Trojan Horse Getting mainstream movie with Wesley Snipes and Patrick as drag rat queens. It's it's literally one of the best movies ever just for those like that. You would think of as extreme toxic masculine. Yeah yeah from roadhouse too long to see how well I mean it. Sort of Gotten Oscars Oscar you. They got somebody who's just e got you on the show. I knew he got you learned. It was a judge mental way. Well Oh no I think I learned it from Chrissy Teigen. We were She wanted us to come on. She was lamenting John Legend on having one so she looks like she wanted us to come and came out like we were meeting for the first time and then we were talking. She was talking about John and she was like yeah. You know I have to film during the emmys tomorrow night. But I'm I'm gonNA take an hour to run to the emmys because he might Z.. Guide and he'll be the youngest person to God and I think it was. Anthony was like actually no. There's another person that's up for as well. He'll be the youngest do. Yeah I had to call John and read that his face. I'm like you guys are the cutest for your success successful when you're rubbing something like that. Ah So free cute. What is your favorite snack food of all time you smoke weed? No the funny thing is everyone thinks. I'm such a pothead. I've been watching queer eye because I always make the we jokes. Oh they're just they're like nobody else to get nobody else really. I'd like I don't like low-hanging exactly. This is an easy to Now I So you don't get. Do you ever get like really snacky In this while we were filming season. Five like it it it can be a lot. Our show imagine emotional. It is what you're seeing. It's even more emotional and relies light so there are moments where I'm just like I don't know how to get through this and Jonathan. Jonathan is very vocal about how much potty smokes. He's love spot so I was like. Maybe that's how Jonathan's getting through this is so we came home for the for one day here. I got to come home one day during filming season five ride and I was like and so I went to a dispensary. It's everywhere yeah and then I went back to Philly and before going into work I smoked up and could not function and I just I took like two hits and I was just like Oh my God people on the show. I know I was like all right. It's even I was like all right. Well maybe you know. Maybe it's just something that I should like tickets to go to sleep totally. I hear people use it all the time so I hope and go to sleep so I did that and then I was still like I was taking a shower in the middle of the a shower. I got so high and I had soap in my eyes and I couldn't figure out like a shower in the shower in the bathroom and places in Philly was like these like this little look glass boxes and I'm like Oh God I can't break the shower thing and I'm like all right. No smoke before I go to bed either. Maybe it's not for you. It's not I would say. Yeah the idea of smoking before going into one of those emotional situations on the show with Aggie me up I love. We didn't but that would be a full blown meltdown. Panic attack What if you had a snack food when you do get snacky? I love a good Parmesan Chris. Maha CARB free That'd be like Anthony. I think is into cheeses and stuff. Yeah Yeah I love Jesus but Jesus will pack the pounds right. I'm he's aware or committed to to work in. I work Out But he'll like he'll work out and he'll do cardio like I'm still like I'm still not done with the cardio just decided to eat better so you lose the weight. Instead of forcing I see myself goes on way it It's amazing. Yeah if you could live somewhere else where would it be Japan China Vietnam. Yeah Brazil although Brazil right now same crazy mess that we are If you have dinner with three people dead or alive whom you've never met three can be to Michelle and Barack and shown Barack Obama today show Krummel. Krummel got to meet him and he wore one of my suits when he met him. And I've it went in plastic. Never worn and again. It sounds like you're just trying to scrape the DNA. The funny thing is I've never I grew up in a in a culture and and that we weren't really allowed to watch. TV weren't allowed to listen to secular music. Watch movies so I didn't grow up ever really been a fan of anyone and it's still to stay. I'm I'm not like I never know who anyone is in Hollywood. It's always can be sometimes. I'm comfortable because I'm like I don't know who you are but I'm like I'm of the. It says a lot about somebody who is famous and who you don't know it says a lot about them. How they handle that situation so I think it's kind of like A? I don't know I think it's a nice thing and your meeting people at face value to that I love it when Yeah Yeah. I know that they're truly honestly metoo talking to me because they won't. Who's your favorite muppet My Book Oh beaker because Yes yes speakers. My favorite too. Yeah I've been lucky the very high. That's like that's like if beaker inhaled. Helium actually pretty much sounds. Yeah that's pretty spot on. I wasn't doc. I mean to be judgmental if you have one superpower what would it be.

I was about to say one for each boob and then I went now. I didn't mean it was just a area, but now we can change that definitely still still picturing it so weird for me to have Bobby as a guest. 'cause I don't know what to do, and I was looking, we generally send out questions for our guests. It's funny to read over the questions that Heather created for her husband that she's may or may not be very close to. All the things, Heather doesn't know switch wants to be unwrapping Bobby. Do you love me. But you gotta. For a friend how much you, Heather. Yeah, let's start with that. How much do you let him out? That's good right answer. Do you think more than that, maybe. Depends spend the day. She's eating here. Pete's your next rain. Nectarines. To get your coffee. So before we began this recording, Bob had all these snacks, and then I kept picking at them. I said, what's this? Is yours? And then I'd eat a bite, drink a sip..
