"Leader. All right. It is Saturday afternoon. We've got baseball coming up the Giants and the Padres carry Crowley. How are you? I'm doing well, Marty looking forward to get pitching matchup this evening. Blake Snell, Anthony DeSclafani. Really excited about this series in general, I think the month of May is gonna be a lot of fun, Marty. Well, the Giants have put out their minor league rosters. Any shocking things about you bring us up to date a little bit on that. I don't think that there's anything that necessarily shocks me. But I will say this. I am going to make a point to make it down to San Jose in the month of May and watch this loaded low a San Jose Giants team, Joe Rich, so we gotta get him on the show next weekend because this club His staff number one overall prospect Marco Luciano, you've got five of the top 10 prospects in the organization. Louise Mottoes, least two radio Kyle Harrison, Alex Canario, all playing in San Jose. And look, I think that Farhaan and Scott are gonna be very aggressive with their promotions that the minor league levels this year, So AH, lot of those guys could be upto Hyena and Eugene early in the season. So what I would recommend a Bay Area baseball fans is make plans now to go see the San Jose Giants in the month of May because you do not know how long Guys like Luciano and mottoes are gonna be at that level Bill. You know, Carrie, You're absolutely right. When you look at all these rosters from Triple A Double eight, Richmond's loaded Triple A in Sacramento is gonna have a great pitching line. There's just kind of its electric at every level and, you know, years back, you didn't have that excitement and with far on moving in here and doing what he's done to rebuild the minor leagues. This is just so good for the out club. The outlook for this team and you can throw in all those names up in San Jose, and I'm like my God, that's low a ball, you know, and And you start shaking your head with that, But I'm right with you. San Jose's on my target as well, A Sacramento I think both these teams they're so close. Giant fans need to go and support both these teams and what I would tell you, Bill Real quick is yes. Farhaan and Scott have done a really good job of of loading this minor league system and adding depth. But you go through the top 10 prospects and this organization and most of them were acquired under Bobby Evans and I had a chance to talk to Bobby Evans earlier this week, he was out at his nephews, gradual. Nation from Mississippi State. He took the timeto he was out, actually checking out the baseball field. We spoke for 15 minutes about, you know, Signing Marco Luciano is a 16 year old drafting Elliot Ramos. Ah High school prospect after the Giants didn't have a first round draft pick in 2016 and the risks that came with that picking Joey Barton 2018 and a draft full of promising college players, and so I think that it's really important to remember that well, Farhaan has turned things around at the major league level. Ah, lot of those San Jose guys, Marty, those air Bobby Evans and Bright And Saving and John Barr era draft picks and sign ease, and the Giants would not be in this position right now, if not for the strong work that happened in 2017 and 2018 with those two No, absolutely because you know in baseball's Keith Law said. It takes a while for someone to get to the big leagues and make a name for themselves. So we got to go backwards three of four years, and that puts us into the Bobby Evans Brian Savion category. You know, it's interesting to me. Eyes that they're putting players in leagues that maybe the players could be too good for those league on and that they you know, we'll put up good stats. And then maybe they'll move along. But let me tell you something. Branch Rickey. Probably the smartest man ever in baseball used to do that with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He used to have a farm system of 600 people, because in those days you had 20 farm clubs. And he would put players in the minor leagues and they would be fabulous if different levels and he used it as currency to make deals. Now, I'm not saying that the Giants are going to do all that because they need some of these players to make it. At some point, But if you keep putting players and levels that they're too good for and all of a sudden wow, Shawn Jelly 17 and three enrichment this guy must be fabulous. And next thing you know. Ah kun used here for Shawn Jelly. So, um, it's an interesting way to do it. Yeah, I I don't think Ronald Junior Junior is gonna be playing for the San Francisco Giants later on this season, Marty. Even if the Braves problems persist this year, you may make a great Ellie. You know that they could they could, and a lot of teams could use jelly. The Giants have that double a rotation bill that's got my eye with Jelly and Sam Long, who caught everyone's attention during spring training with the fastball up to 95. The hammer curveball map. Frisbee, a top prospect Tristen back the Stanford guy who Came over in the Markham a lance and deal Jose Aguas steal his. He's got a really fun year ahead of him at Double A. Richman and Marty. I'm looking forward. I think next week and we'll have a Richmond broadcaster come on and talk about that team. So there is a lot to like in this farm system Billet and I would just say this..

"That type of presence and And you know, and and these guys are are so good for the game because you know they're the traveling storytellers. Other guys that carry on the lessons and they tell their young pitchers and young players around them both the lessons of the game through stories and You heard him give an interview, he said. He's exceptional, you know, And here we are. I mean, were glorifying a guy and you know, you sit in the butt $25. It's remarkable, but we all feel his contribution is a good one. Well, winning, they're winning is the ultimate deodorant, right? And it's true is so true, and he told Papa and A really after the game was a great little detail. That here comes the guy and this is the guy I want to transition, asking about Gregory Santos. Okay. Gregory Santos, and we'll talk about him, but he's asked him. They brought the translator out, and they asked him. What did you say? And he said, I told him Congratulations on your major league debut. You only get one You earned this He goes and then I told him something I can't say on TV and Papa pushed him. He said. Well, I told to go strike these Wanker! Blankers out. Hey, said that through a translator, Mike, and he said, apparently Santos listened. Right. So this is your chance to tell us about Santos. Who came over in the noon. Yes. Trade The Bobby Evans Nunez trade Mike, you your download here. Well, you you know, this whole Dre goes down here. We have a 17 year old guy and And you know you think I'm on? We're going to see this guy in six years, right? So it becomes something you just put in the backward way on the back burners. This last October, when the Giants had there. Instructor Li Gun in Arizona, and they brought about 60 guys in One night we get a random call from That brutal and And he's excited and pepper rules. He's a hitter, right? He didn't get excited about too many pictures. But we start talking ball and in burrows just a little time, But you know you you've heard him on pre impulse game shows me. He's just, he tells it like it is. He doesn't sugarcoat anything. And he was really excited. On this night. He was really excited. Not for the hitter's not for the Luciano knows, and the The Elliot Romero are Elliot. What is it? One of my men, it Ramos, Not it, Not those guys. He was excited about the arms. He was sound, he said. There's two guys down there right now. Right now. So tall and this kid Santos, he says they they could be in a big big step right now. And and probably close. That's how it goes. I can't believe these guys. Their stuff is a little electric, right? So okay, Well, we didn't really get a chance to see Santos and spring We saw Joe Collins like, Oh, yeah. Get this. And then lo and behold a couple weeks or what? We could go with CDO tall comes in every like, Yeah, you hot Daddy, That's and then last night First of all, you see, the guy come out of milk in and he's a man child. I mean, he's 63 to 30. He's 21 years old. He's a big fella. And then he comes out there and watch him warm up and it's just using, and he warmed up first call pitches like 89 98, because they when they between innings when we're watching them and showing from behind They'll put the MPH on the pitch of the first ones you have are like 89 98, you know? Look, we're a little sense of after all the hype for Aaron Sanchez throwing 97. We're seeing throwing 89 collect. And then all of sudden he cuts loose. That's 99 were like Oh, my God. Okay, Okay. I can't wait to come out of break. I wanna play. Let's go see this guy pitch. Mm. Well the book on him and he's two pitch guy. His slider. He's got better command this lighter than the fastball. We didn't know he could throw the fact the slider 90 91 MPH with straight down bite, put it on the corner pitch his first break out the big leagues. If there was a battle lock around 32 count. And he sits a guy down Sierra that he had no idea that even existed. He just meekly walked back to the dugout in the cycle. All right now, here comes jazz. Chisholm, who's arguably the best player in the game. This last two weeks. He's been red hot, good player. And he three pitches him and the 02 slider he pitched looked robbed in like the carpet. I look each other, and it was just that that realization that this guy's legit Anyone's having 123 inning. And, you know, I mean, look, when you go out there on the debut, you're so over amped geek up. You can't even feel your arm and this kid has a 12312 punch outs. You talk about Living up to the hype making Pat bro look good. That's exactly what this kid did. You know it and it goes to show you too, Mike, these trays that go down You know, like you said, it's 17 year old kid. I mean, whatever, who's he? And you just never know with trades, right? You can't evaluate you can't ever evaluate trades the day of Cause if this guy can continue to be, I'm calling him ST Gregory here because Santo Spanish for Saint Rights If this guy turns into what he can be, that's a heck of a trade by Bobby Evans. And we should probably tip our captain Bob for that, huh? Yeah. He's done a lot of things you need to tip your cap to and you know, he kind of got a lot of criticism when you walk out here, But you're starting to see some of the young talent that that was down in the lower minor leagues that is starting to surface now and you know, dough, talent and Sent those two guys that you know we're going to see a while. I mean, I Can't imagine what Gabe Kapler doesn't want to have these guys around and look It's a small sampling. We've seen an inning or three innings from the tall, one ending from said those or excited about it. We're excited about it. Because we're seeing power. We're seeing power arms coming up out of Giant system and that to me, that is a strength that empowers everybody in the system. It's gonna be awesome. And then back to the guy you mentioned that start Aaron Sanchez, and it's funny cause Sally again another golden interview, he revealed to pop on a really a He said. Yeah, No, he's upset about his velocity. And of course, you know, Sanchez says after the game kind of famously now on viral, he says, I don't give a s about my velocity, which means he probably does give us But he's getting out. That's the crazy thing. So you speak to us about like the war in his brain of like he's probably really mad about the radar gun and yet He's getting out. So what? How's that? How do you think Sanchez? His head is Well, you know, look, he was in kind of a great point the game last night, he said. If you look at Gregory Santos, that's the stuff that Aaron Sanchez had 2016 find nineties with a wipe out slider. That was just stuff to put him on the All Star team in the league strikeout. I mean, That goes he was legit. Now said he resurfaces years later after, you know, going through a substantial arm injury and he's throwing 90 92. Look, I can't explain the work out when he was still in 97. I can't explain it. Giants can explain it. They expected to see that spring training never have, and now we're watching a guy who's really throwing 90 or below. But you know what? He could pitch. You don't need.
MLB Spring training: Which Players Have A Shot At Making the Giants' Team?
"One guy that stands out to me and we'll get to Luciano. We've talked so much about him and how exciting and tantalizing he is. But we're talking bullpen, arms and guys who have a legitimate shot to make this team and one of the parting gifts from Bobby Evans. It seems like one of these guys. Camilo dove all he's been in the system time now did we saw him against the Dodgers the other night? He is exciting, and I think is you put out carry the best hair in the Giants bullpen right now. Oh, yeah, he he does have the best care because last year they had a guy Rodolfo Martinez, who was a Johnny Cueto look like just with better dreadlocks than Johnny Cueto. If you can imagine that this year, they've got Camilo Jovel who does not have better dreadlocks. But he has died his dreadlocks, so they're like orangish Red, And I'm hoping that by the regular season he'll have in his Giants Orange, because could you imagine that coming out of the bullpen? Got weapon 97 98 with a cutter and the breaking off a nasty slider. And then all of a sudden he's got the closer like hair, Camilo Devil and you make a great point. He is a parting gift from Bobby Evans. And this is something that we should talk about. I should write about eventually is all the parting gifts from Bobby Evans because you're starting to see the fruit of the Giants International. Sign me focus coming through the system. Marco Luciano, a Bobby Evans guy, Alexander Canario, Bobby Evans Guy. Curving Castro, a Bobby Evans guy. And so the Giants are starting to see this focus that we saw in the like post 2014 2015 World Series era where they went down to the Dominican Republic, Venezuela and other Latin American countries and sign some dudes and you're seeing that those dudes who they got when they were 16 17 years old are coming through this farm system and are going to be ready to contribute and so The village of all immediately popped out the other night against the Dodgers Cubs, But there's several other players, several other young players. Several other young pitchers who have really stood out so far. Well in another one is from the left side. Jake long this kid is from Sacramento. I think you would the Sac state or he's like up from the Northern California area. So he said. It was so funny. The quote I saw from him the other day was Buster Posey called him over to throw a bullpen and he called him by his name, and he was all stoked that Buster newest name because he's of that age group beauties like you and I. If Buster called us over, he'd be like, dude, that's Buster Posey calling my name so Him from the left side. You know, I hate to do the com thing, but I'm getting I'm getting Billy Wagner Vibes. Dude, What do you think? Billy Wagner vibes? That's that's fascinating. And so the reason I say that is because the jobs are actually building this guy up is a starter there. They're thinking of him a 97 from the left side, a guy with a hammer curveball and a good change up there looking at him as someone who could actually be in the rotation. And so when can't first started? Gabe Kapler traffic trump Buster Posey. They all said. Hey, pay some attention to this Sam Long guy. He's got something to him. And we're thinking, okay, This is just, you know, a guy who threw two good bullpens. You never know that happens every spring. He's probably a double A or maybe a triple a arm who could help them out of the bullpen Eventually. Then all of a sudden, he appears in the Cactus League opener against the Angels, and he has got major league stuff. No question in my mind after seeing him. Three pitches in I turn to Mark Sanchez in the press box. I go. I have seen enough. This guy can help the Giants right now, and I think that in keeping him as a starter and sending him down to triple A or double a to open up the season, you're potentially talking about someone copes who could somehow morphed his way into the Giants top pitching prospect and maybe beat Sean Jelly or Tristen back or some things other guys. The chance to excited about to the major league level. And so it's really fasting to see Sam Long come out of the bullpen because you're juxtaposing that with guys like Camilo, Javelin Caribbean Castro, who is another guy, Bobby Evan, signed who just has that hammer curve coming out of the bullpen 97. Very little mite early experience. But there are the pieces in place and you can correct me if I'm wrong. If you've seen anything differently, the first three or four days of spring training their pieces in place for the Giants to have one of the most exciting bullpens and Major league baseball and potentially one of the best is far as electricity goes like with stuff

"I think he came in is like a boat guy and through three or four Things in the middle of a ball game at one point down at Dodger Stadium. So I am wondering at what point I heard Mark Sanchez from can be our ask apple of this the other day and saying, Hey, what are we gonna get to see some of these other starters? You know, you're Alex, Would you physical Fontes and of course Alex would pitched on Thursday against the White Sox. But I remember Kappler saying, And you can react to this to carry. I think Gabe said. Well, what do you mean by starters, and he was like, I mean, like Sclafani and wood and gossiping like one of these guys gonna throw these ago? Okay, the projected rotation basically. But did you did you notice that? Sure does get a little laugh out of that. Oh, absolutely, And what we've started to do on the beat. Mark does a great job of this. Alex Pavlovich did this the other day copes, he said the guys that we project as your starting pitchers, so essentially saying gave we know what you're reading. We don't care what you're saying about bulk innings and starters and different roles. But we know that you were reading what we're writing, and we're projecting. Johnny Cueto, Kevin Gausman, Alex would Anthony DeSclafani and Aaron Sanchez to be in the rotation. And so it's kind of like the assumption that the Giants could do whatever they want behind the scenes. They can say whatever they want. That guy's a bulk pitcher, Whatever that means. We're just gonna go with the traditional route for now of saying that those five of the starting pitchers and until we see otherwise in the regular season Then we will right otherwise, But right now, you just have to treat it is that because those are the guys with the starting pitching pedigree and so asking these questions. It's like, push and pull, you know. Is this guy a reliever? Is he a multi inning reliever? I don't really care at this point the spring if you've got a good fastball, if you got a good breaking ball, you're probably gonna be on the team because that's what the Giants care about. And so it is kind of funny to see the different ways that you can ask the questions and look at the starting rotation. But like Mark said, I am kind of concerned about when you're gonna work these guys in and apparently Gosman de Stefani, both through bowl pins on Thursday it Scottsdale stadium. So we should be seeing them by the end of the weekend, maybe early next week Copes and what sort of funny is the alternate site thing kind of came into play against? We know that that's gonna happen again this year, but what I'm getting at is capital and said, Yeah, well, these guys, you know, they got up and down in their bullpen sessions meeting that they did a you know, they pitched a simulated inning sat down, got back up, pitched another inning as though they were sitting for an offensive that bad inning, right? So that's the get up and down, trying to get ready, But I do want When we're going to see some of these guys in live competition, So let's get into some of these players that we've seen already early in camp and the number one guy that stands out to me and we'll get to Luciano. If you've seen anything differently, the first three or four days of spring training their pieces in place for the Giants to have one of the most exciting bullpens and major league baseball and potentially one of the best assed far as electricity goes like with stuff and pure stuff..

"And so the Giants were stuck in a position where they've got a few guys seemingly carrying this team. Mikey Stransky O P. S still over 1000 Alex Dickerson o PS despite going over four. On Wednesday evening. 8 50 for Donovan Solano, PS 1.68 Evan Longoria. 8 92 Brandon Belt helped his cause. He got up to 80 80 with a big night on Wednesday. The three run home run the double. The Giants really needed that from Brandon Belt, because I've still got a lot of question marks about this team six and seven. Logan Webb has been the saving grace for this pitching staff. For whatever reason, they won't name Trevor got the closer even though he looks totally capable of filling that role. And so the giants for Trust in this situation where a few guys were performing for a few days, and a few guys have not performed it all. And unfortunately for Farhaan Zaidi, two of those guys Jalen Davis and Mauricio Dubon Or his big acquisitions at the 2019 trade deadline. So Mikey Stransky begins to falter if Donovan Solano comes back to Earth They're going to be a lot of questions about the direction of this Giants team because, remember So many of those prospects that the Giants were so thrilled about Joey Barton, Marco Luciano Elliot Ramos. You're Bobby Evans guys. So the heat is going to be on if the Giants don't begin to figure this thing out. And begin to play more consistent baseball. Got one more in Colorado, Tyler Anderson against Kyle Free Land on Thursday, 12 11th pitch right here on the leader, three in Los Angeles and three in Houston, in what is expected to be and what has already been an exceedingly difficult road trip when we come back Introduce Mark and Mac Mark Willard. NFC West: Who will unseat the 49ers?
"So glad to be joined by Candace Silva of the rams wire as we go around the NFC west try to figure out who's going to unseat the forty Niners if they can be unseeded at the top of the division cam covers the the rams the rams who apparently are the hot bat right now to win the Superbowl at thirty to one what the hell's going on their camp yeah apparently they were the most popular Super Bowl bet of the last I think there's some were the bachelor come in anywhere on the rams won the Superbowl which is surprising because they've done nothing in the past okay two months to really bolster their claim as a Super Bowl contender in it's been a rough offseason for them so they got a bounce back in to see them as a Super Bowl favorite or not people will favor but to see so many people jumping on the bandwagon for them to win the Superbowl surprising I mean obviously they were just in the Super Bowl now might about a decade ago by our current time frame standards but it was two seasons ago and they still have the same quarterback they still have the same head coach where has it gone wrong we know what happened last year it in fact but if if people are buying in why would you say don't hi this is biggest issue right now I was really surprised that they essentially ignored the the office of identity try to remake it or bring in much talent really on the opposite line this offseason they refinance or what works best it brought back Austin blight who could play guard and center I'm so really they're sticking with the same group that they had last year there's a lot of competition really the only position that sat on the opposite wanted at left tackle with what danger what work right but the other four spots where they're gonna be competitions with Bobby Evans and rob Stein at right tackle Austin Blake and Bryan Alexander in the guard position is kind of just a mishmash of players who are relatively unproven at the NFL level so I would say that's the biggest issue switching Todd Gurley out for can makers they hope is going to be an upgrade at least hopefully in the in the explosiveness department because we do the regular Todd Gurley last season and he kind of seems like he's past his prime with the old me injury in right usage so they hope that with the improved often combined with these guys developing the younger guys and then a a better run game they're going to hopefully get back to their roots from the twenty seventeen twenty seventeen to twenty eighteen season that also supplying plan doesn't seem like a very good one considering that they're in a division with the forty Niners who I don't think I'm being a Homer here by saying that they have a pretty darn good defense of line like that that might not be a good match up for them yeah that's one of the best defensive line principality and you're gonna have it you're gonna have such a us a big mismatch every time that these teams square off because the defense of life for forty third San Francisco so good you got Nick Bosa all the guys on the interior Erik Armstead so there's gonna be tough match ups all across the front when these teams square off twice a year and you're not gonna want to right now in blocking these guys or Bobby Evans are often blight it's it's gonna be a tough match up for all these guys what's M. brings us to the cornerback what what went down with Jared Goff I mean I don't know what it was it all just smoke and mirrors in that Super Bowl season was he figured out I mean there there's been plenty of arguments I've seen a lot of smart people say listen as soon as Matt Patricia showed how to basically not bite on the play action it was game over for the rams they still made the Super Bowl but last year was not great is there any realistic expectation around the rams that they can make it jump now with you know maybe acres and there is the full time running back yeah I I wouldn't say your golf was just smoke and mirrors in twenty eighteen I thought he was a legitimate MVP candidates for most that season and then they kind of have that by the crazy Monday Night Football game against the chiefs and ever since then he's just more grass than not been the same player it was it was he was really terrible on play action last season which was a surprise but again that goes back to the office of line you just didn't have time to to get to a second read he didn't have time to to turn his back to the defense on these armies clashing passes so that a big impact but he's a player who I know they gave them a hundred thirty four million dollars but at this point in his career he doesn't seem like someone who's going to really master the issues of the rest of the offense it's not can overcome terrible off in one place so for him in the rams to really bounce back it's going to take an improvement on the offensive line golf getting back to how he was playing in twenty eighteen and then that running game coming alive and that seems like a lot of that on because it's it's everything coming together as a cohesive unit but I mean with the talent that they do have they still look really good receivers with concocting Robert wood acres and Henderson at running back our promising and golf if he if he lives up to his contracting really pleased the way the FHS quarterback showed the ram should bounce back nicely I like Henderson he came out of Memphis right yep yep he he really was under utilized last year yeah they were kind of well I wouldn't say stubborn sticking with elderly but he just didn't get many opportunities but when he did when he did get some chances he showed his show computer production yeah if you could once against the forty Niners last season to worry bounced off a few tackles and I mean he he's a smaller guy he runs hard and he he he also I'm interested to see how they utilize them with Cammy Kerr's

"And he may be coming back not for game two, but he may be back in this series. And if the bucks hit shots from the outside, it just it softened things up for Janas the middle. And even eventually that means the Celtics have to have to go out and close out on the shooter's even with their big men. It just it's going to create an effect where you honest will have more room to operate. And that's I think that's true. Also Boston played with incredible defensive discipline in game one. Yeah. And I don't think you can do that seven times, you know, whatever amount of games. I don't think they can play that way defense. Everybody. Boot noser also told me I had one of their games recently that he believes that his team can shoot the ball. So well that over seven game series that they're gonna shoot better than the other team. And generally if you look at those Mike dantonio talking to know bulldozer. No, I know. But I'm saying, that's that's. Tony take. But if you look at it, it's just boiled down to three pointers who I would say if you look at every series are every individual game man over ninety ninety percent of them probably to this point. You could say the team hits the most threes wins the game. I know that was I know that was that was a narrative for maybe like four games into the first round. And there was literally there was a ESPN stats and info thing like look the team that it's the more threes. I don't I don't just don't think it's that simple though, because the good defensive teams are going to impact the types of threes that you're getting and therefore the percentages should go down. Like if you're defense is better. So I don't think it. But it's I mean, I know it doesn't it shouldn't be that simple. But it's kind of been mostly that simple this season so far. I wouldn't look I would have to out larger sample sizes. What you're saying? Well, I mean, it's a hard. It's a hard thing to argue against right? Like, yes. The team that shoots the ball. Better is going to win the game. What? But the team that shoots the ball better may have. Better defensive players to force tough shots from three on the other end. You know what I mean? So like those you can't it's not just like the team that shoots better. The warriors are a great example of this. So the warriors are this fantastic over the years right shooting team, and particularly clay and stuff. And then you forget about the fact that their defense is forcing much tougher shots than they are getting right? Like, that's the whole you got iguana and Draymond flying around on defense. Switching Contessa, contesting everything. So you're not going to get a bunch of open threes against the traditional warriors team. I know it's a little easier this year because the fatigue. So while the stats will tell you the warriors made more threes than their opponent. And that's why they won the game. Part of the reason why they're making more threes is because they're defending their defenses. So good. Yeah. It's both. That's my that's odd names. Both right. I mean when I say that the team hits the more hits the most threes wins the game. It's not strictly just an offensive discussion. Okay. I'm just making sure. I mean, you gotta defend to right? No. I know. But you, but like the way that then Tony says it, you know, is almost as smissing. Why does it always go back to the rockets with you that goes back to the old Phoenix Suns? But George I understand that that Bobby Bobby Evans joins us now here. One of the newest members of the Rams tackle out of Oklahoma joins us here. Bobby thanks for taking the time, man. So take me through the process, you get the call. And what was that like? And I was like a dream come true. 'cause it was crazy. You know, I was just gone TV off that night. "So Bobby Evans is going to join us in ten minutes. Trudell he is the third round draft pick out of Oklahoma for the Rams, and it could be the successor to Andrew Whitworth overall. When you look at the Rams and just just the draft in general was there anything that kind of like stuck out to outside of Rosen, which we've talked a lot about we could kind of rehash a little later. But what did you like find anything fascinating about the draft over the weekend? I mean, the whole the whole like the whole connection point to the quarterback that the argument that I kind of have gotten out of this is that the manning brothers and more more Peyton are what delivered Jones to the giants. Like that dish Jones as the six pick. Yeah. Like that's fascinating to me. Just if people that don't know David cut cliff who's the coach at Duke was Daniel Jones's coach was the offense coordinator for both Peyton and Eli when they were in college. And I mean so quarterback is certainly the position that we're going to focus the most on. And and so I I do think that part is fascinating then Haskins fall into the Redskins who didn't have to trade up like think about how much the Rams to get up to Gough -sition had to give up and to have the guy that who he might be better that could have gone at number six so that and then the Cuyler Murray thing, but I don't know, man. That's to me that's a little reductive because that's just quarterback as the obvious sexy position in the NFL that we're all following. So I'm not gonna pretend like I've got some take on the difference between the Michigan and the LSU linebackers. You know, that that both like looked really good on in the highlights that I saw, you know. So I guess that's why it's like the quarterback thing seems to be the one that jumps off the page. But that's just because of the way that the game is, you know, what real quick though on the giants thing with Daniel Jones is that Ed look, I think their general manager Dave Gettleman is a bit of a. Foon because if you still think Eli manning can play at this stage. The you know, you've got your own set of issues. However, when it comes to the drafting of Daniel Jones, for whatever reason whether that was the Manning's influenced it or David cut puff influenced it, or whatever the notion like the stuff that drives me nuts. Right. Which is kind of like what we were just chatting about now. Like we were chatting about the meta world peace thing. Right. That the notion that we're going to split hairs. And and I guess maybe splitting hairs is not the right analogy because the difference between pick six and six seventeen in the NFL draft is there's a wider chasm there than just splitting hairs,.

You know, we'll son. Miami. I couldn't live in Orange County Miami. It'd be by second toy. All right. Michael get out of here. All right club, whining, Ganj MAG goodness. All right. See? What a credit appearance. Legend, God, usually, you know, what the one thing. I wasn't sure if he would if he would say, it's right. Like that. Because he's been like when we had our show in the the warriors were in a series, and like everybody's talking about stuff because want. Aggregated? Yes. Like, Michael Michael Dawson, don't do that folks. Head blah, blah, blah, Thompson rips rockets like now you I was egging him on in art for our arguments. So don't don't put Michael on that box, please. Yeah. No. But you know, I'm just glad that you know, he called you a winner for like twenty minutes up. So it's okay. I listen. I know you can take I'm used to it from him already at this point. It's okay. Just because he was bored. You know at the time, and he's gonna watch documentary of him. You know when the universe started. You know, this means channel like boob was all over me earlier. And now Michaels Oliver you, you know, so right? So we'll Bobby Evans do like we'll just like dislike both of us. The Rams do offense of tackle. We'll see what happens. He's going to join us at six o'clock in about thirty minutes. He'll stop by coming up next. I do want to get into the dodgers a little bit. Let's get into some dodger talk where Cody Bellinger is right now the evolution of Kershaw. We're gonna short segment coming up stick with us. We're back in a couple of minutes here on ESPN all well, we really screwed up the clock here. Thanks to Michael. But anyway, we'll figure this out. I don't know what we're gonna do here. But fudge, we're back. We're back. It's this an auto show. George. We're back. Yeah. I know. I was talking. Okay. I thought it sounded like so I put my headphone on a little bit late. Right. And so I thought that you didn't know we are back and you're talking to funches. No, no, no. I was just trying to figure out how we're gonna fix this clock. 'cause no, you know, Michael. Basically destroyed are correct the clock. So we'll try to figure out fudge me. If you ever just text me with the next two weeks, look like, and we'll we'll we'll try to make it work. So anyway, I I was all my Twitter during the break and ESPN NBA on ESPN tweeted out this cool. Video of Koby sixteen years ago in the two thousand three playoffs. This was the year that they played Minnesota in the conference finals, but the previous year when they played them earlier in the playoffs, and it's just a crazy baseline dunk of Kobe throated down on. It looks like Russia disturbed and Kevin Garnett. And it just was an incredible dunk. I'll read tweet it. Now, you can see it add Sodano ESPN, and that way it's just easier to find now this is gonna be a weird question for you. Because you grew up in a soda guy. But do you think like, Kevin Garnett to me? Great player. You know, probably I had to bring it like if I had to literally break it down. He's probably the fourth best power forward in the history of the game may be fifth like in that conversation. But I almost feel like he gets a lot of credit. And a lot of a lot of love because he was so intense. Right. But I don't know if he was as good as people make him out to your you are of on three here. He wa- he was amazing defensively. And he was very good offensively. But I don't like I as far as power forwards are concerned. I think that whether it's Malone or whether it's even Dirk, I feel like those guys had bigger impacts than than even Garnett. Did even though clearly he was way more dominant on the defensive than those two guys. Yeah. So I mean, I think the the place you have to start with garnet is that he was the most versatile defender and MBA history. So he's got like what maybe the first guy, and I'm sure you could think.

The end of the show was all upset again. And it was primarily because we had Bruce Boccioni the second because you care first of all I care, and I also love Bruce bocce you care enough to send the very best. I love Doley a few people on this planet. Will you two are on that list? But I do love you guys love Bruce bocce. Yeah. And I don't like the way I felt it sounded like he was being treated and handled today based on some of his answers, Shannon. So maybe we can just say there should be a meeting of a moderation between the human element. And there's definitely room for it. Work everybody jumps in headfirst. Everybody says, let's do not remember new coke. When they brought the new coq forever. What's the okay to zero? I think what we're seeing is an over correction. What we had was a system where players are getting paid for what they did. Right. And all the sudden teams are getting there getting locked down with these enormous contracts. Yes. And so they pay these guys in pay these guys and all of a sudden one of those guys, right? And all of a sudden, they can't move these guys. Just like what happened with Bobby Evans and us and now we're stuck with these guys for a while. And so you're seeing teams like what Zaidi did with the as where it's cultivated from the ground up. Right. And then he did it again with the dodgers. He didn't make big signings over there. The only big contract he handed out was with with kenley Jansen, right? And so then he brought in some of the you know, they were smaller smaller signings. Look at the the Kershaw. Well, ron. Recommend that's ending up to be hard for the first time. I think. Right. I mean, does anybody actually think that Bryce Harper is going to be good? No more than even eight years. Let me ask you. Well, that's a good question. I don't know. Let me ask you a question of you giants Pacific with all of this stuff in mind. If you could be talking about this today boats emotional day, dude. It's open. I love how that but also a lot going on this year that we have not had to contend with around here in a long time because there's been a lot of great years, but like Boches last season Bumgarner the clock could be easily taken on Bumgarner. So you're telling me, you're meeting with Colombo Colombo, yo Colombo, and you're selling him on the deal that why are you making trouble? I've got a better deal for you. And I said let me set up a meeting for you. I know they're all here in the Gulf from western golden because Betty McCaw tell me all her New York. So now, I go to the author western building which was right up the block from Madison Avenue where the league headquarters the good news. They had a young gentleman. Just just a young lawyer in your call, Barry, Sean hick who still here. Yes. So Barry was the attorney for the league. So Delo hires berry smart. Get a nice Jewish attorney. Good Jewell lawyer. That's what I always say. I always remember do you? Remember, you probably weren't watching all the family in the seventies. You had other things going on. But that was the classic wine that he was angry from some guy in the laundromat who was an Arab. And he said I want to get a good I want to get a vicious Jew lawyer because he knew the Arabs and the Jews. You know, this is all right. So seriously, though, this is the this is not made up keep going. So what happened is I go there? And I said, listen, you having problems with the mom, why don't I and using the language from the book. Why don't I arrange a sit down and have everybody. Come and he should what are you talking about? I I had a meeting this morning with Joe Colombo, which I did. I said I brought up some points that I think he would negotiate with you. And that's all they wanted to do. They should you could do this. I yeah. So now, we arrange your meeting for the next day. How old are you? At this time. I'm twenty five this is bizarre. You've gone. So now, I go down to Joe I should Joe. They wanna meet tomorrow, ten o'clock of western Bill. He says, okay. I should make sure you bring like butter esta Chico with you, I want I want to be what it should be. I watched a combined with the crew but bring Barry and Barry was sitting there, and they all loved it. Because now they all coming in with it looked like a looked like the meeting in the godfather when Solazzo came everybody sat down. So they started going through it. And and they asked him right out. What don't you like he's what we want? We don't want to be referred to as Guineas and and all of that. And they didn't want mafia locos. All of that in the movie. So and it wasn't. No kidding. Yeah. But here's an interesting thing. So I should want before we go through all that is why don't we have Barry read the script. He knows what you don't want. If they agree to take that out. Would you agree to support the unions and the locations in New York should? Yeah. And I should what he wants. Also is he wants to world premieres and every major city that he chose for. If there's a Tena America's obviously, we want to do this in Virginia. But. So that's hilarious. But all the major cities, and because he already knew so the all agreed on this this next thing, you're gonna fall on the ground. So now, they're all getting up shaking hands. So I pulled Joe sleeve I should show. What about me? And he goes like this like like, he's Jesus Christ. You raises has everybody sit down. They all sit down. I'm talking about Bobby Evans Stanley Jaffe, major guys of the studio, and he's gonna do for my boy. So Bobby Evans jumps says a we'll give them apart or knowing you say, Bobby Evans, Robert I have to explain to translate Robert Evans, like a legend. He's the president. Okay. To Chinatown to move. He wrote the book the kid stays in the picture day. Odds about his biography. Yeah. Great guy. But anyway, so what happens is so bobby's doing this Hollywood bullshit, a we'll give them apart. No, no, no, no. Let me tell you something I came here either to get Michael sunny or call now your audience is going to hear something most people don't know they said well Michaels already been cast. It's James Caan. Right. Just did Brian picolo right and sunny was combine Caridi. He had a play on the man from a much on Broadway. They should be a big guy. So I said what about caller this? We didn't get to call yet. So I said Joe I wanna play call. So he says to he plays caller. And that was it. No. Then they go another step. And they said well, have you agent is I have no waging they said. Well, you in the union, I should know this. You can't be in this movie. I sent me tell you something. I did my homework. This is a tear fault state. You give me a whole lot second that come on. I we need to annotate this conversation. You said this is a Taft Hartley. Stay to work state. Okay. But I mean, not everybody knows this. I knew I I had people tell me what they're gonna throw at me. Not to give me the part. So I was prepared right. My grandfather always told me be prepared, and I've always been prepared. So I told him is you give me a letter reunion. Wait now. Join the union so Joseph give him the letter. And that was it. Unbelievable. I mean, honestly, I I you almost can't believe this is true. I know it's true. I know it's in the book, but wow, crazy crazy story. But there's another craziest. We have time. I'll tell you. We've got we've got time. I mean, we'll take the time. Okay. It's so okay. So at that point, you say, you got the part a lot of people don't know that Michael Corleone was not supposed to be out Pacino that they didn't want him. It was a big fight. Oh, my God the studios ready to pull the plug on us. Because the first scenes you see Michael in the movie was at my wedding. And he was in an army uniform yet, very weak and timid and this the studio heads are saying, wait a minute. This guy's going to become what he becomes. And Francis said watch them do it, and they should wait it. We're not going to watch two hours of film, and he doesn't do it. Right. And ready to fire them so many times. But as you kept developing. He did it. I saw an interview with Al Pacino not long ago where he discusses this because I'd never known this. And he said that while he was shooting the picture he he knew that he could be fired at any point. And so he said that he played the role differently. Like, he was hanging back or something. And then once the scene in. I gotta remember with with with the. You know, where he where he where he pulls out the gun or on mcklusky ski these says that scene kinda changed every we're gonna be right back, folks. I text them because I was watching on Instagram solid. I was watching it on Instagram live, and I was bombed. I was like, oh, what a bummer we live. We both thirteen point lead. Well, Las Lomas now earns a bid in the semifinals against m c h Adam. Catholic. So it's copes as Moreau Catholic against MIB's. I'm getting the feeling like the whole set. The I said, I just stirred it up. I was like you two need to go at it. I said I'm installing Moreau as an eleven point five Siamese fighting fish hammered. I went right on he said, I'm on Marrone. I'm giving them eleven. And. In texas. I said the early money went so strong Moreau. I'm readjusting align to twelve and a half. I said I'll Hamrick take twelve and a half. Yeah. So Sando on it. So it's a twelve and a half point spread on tonight's Moreau Catholic, Lois. Yeah. It sounds like benefit Tommy's kind of forced into this. Like, he doesn't even really know. Maybe care quoted Travis Scott, though, he's really like High School Athletic. He loves daddy says the dog, isn't that from whatever. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So let's go Frank night morale. So tonight, if you guys need a little need a little action, it's copes given twelve and a half to Las Lomas. Wow. Where where the steak sandwich from where could be anywhere. Oh, oh, no. We're going to lose lose sandwich spots over here on pine. Okay. I don't know it. Good spot. We'll go over there. Every once in a while. We'll kind of stuff to they have a loose. Everything had a everything has been packed. Brian is usually a question very rarely do you get a statement? I'll get questions via tax and a lot of times this late like ten thirty on a Sunday night on your what's the best Beatles album. I know like random stuff, I'm like, dude. Talk to me tomorrow curiosity of that kid is second to none. So anyway, the the Padres are now the number one free agent spending team in all based Hodge raise through Lucas Padres. Lucas. You know what I'm saying? Look at a competence Padres too. Yeah. I'm gonna make a call right now. They don't win the west this year. Who does dodgers? Okay. I'm sick of that. Remember when two thousand fifteen sixty nine camp and shields and all those guys and everyone thought they're gonna win the division. I brought this up yesterday. What happened? I think they blew up halfway through the year. You never know where they got no pitching. What about the giants going out there and win in ninety games for Boetsche? You know? Got quiet in here. Have we not added camp Cameron mayb into the mix and not prime Mabon? And there was one other come on. Solarte's that happened when we were here. We did we did talk. Let me just say this. I'm just gonna say say far is the genius, right? He's the next gen and I'm on board. Although I have to say. No move to small Mark gonna confess. I'm gonna confess that the thought of a Mike Scheldt pencil-pushing coming in here and this team becoming a bunch of maximum tees and all that is I'm a little bummed. I'm a little I'm sort of getting a little nostalgic for the old Peter McGowan, I need bonds. I need dusty. I check back if they win I'll be in. I'll be in. But I will how about this. If Bobby Evans signed Cameron Mabon drought apar- for his outfield. Would we be ripping them? Thirty both guys are north of thirty. I guess the big reason why we wouldn't be amazed because four hundred at super cheap super cheap. Yeah. Bobby might have given them three years thirty million Murph when you say pencil pushers. They're the kind of guys that Bobby Evans brought in they're done. Right. But he spent that's the that's the point is is far Hong getting those guys if Bobby didn't paint him into a corner with the contract. She has right now. I feel like the guys four homes going to bring it up, and they might not be good baseball players. But that'd be really good. Maybe they can help my kids with their calculus. We're going to be doing a tutoring program, which you guys see some are quote. I have it on a did you guys up right now? He's. He said you're going to see he said Boches the last of a breed, you're gonna see thirty puppets out there. I know what he said there's some bad blood out there some anger now come into the surf, by the way, the word is smarter looks good. That's what I'm saying. He's throwing like full steam to. I'm starting to get a like a swell of pro some feelings, and maybe what we've been waiting. Now, we need to turn like where we're going to get like the angry van rocker roller more. Because he's he's ticked at the whole sick of all of it like the openers. He didn't like to change because he sees it as two things to affronts to him one. He's his contract is being used as the example of a contract you never give anymore. So he's probably a little little wounded by ripping my contract. I'm Jeff Amarjit. Can I get a little lover into? Yeah. He prides himself in being the seven eight inning guy. And they're saying we don't need that anymore. He said he has eight hurdles to hit this spring. Bullpen session. Heavy bullpen session. Lied BP session. And then five cactus leaks starts is the first one. Yep. And he got his first APMT's anything he felt very over hurdles one see him pitch. And we're down there. Probably will they said they might give him one of the first five day pitch. We'll see them by the way, this coming Saturday last Saturday was the last Saturday without baseball until November. It's pretty good. I like that we have every from starting to think about that. When you started with. I don't know if the giants will be playing until November, but somebody with somebody and then Finally I teased it. So we got to deliver after all this according to fill material in the chronicle. The raiders will be playing in all likelihood back where they started years possible. Oakland Coliseum was we'll get extended stay sometimes you got to travel far to find home as where your heart is home. Sweet home, the journey leads back home here. He is according to fill material announcement expected this week or early next week put the pies on the windowsill Malla coming home. Oh. It is this year, and maybe even twenty years stadium opening I thought it was. Construction delays. Maybe zoning in Vegas. Forget about it. And now tonight's UPN nine news one down. The report for our investigative team. We're about to take you inside the secret world of pirate radio. They are outlaws of the airwaves willing to risk jail to broadcast their kind of music. I teams Bobby Evans Taylor is here tonight with the story, Barbara Brenda. They are the bad boys of radio, and they're passing his hip hop and to play with they like they break the law every Sunday night when they blast their music into the boroughs. I was sick to my stomach because all this work that I put in to do the station is going to go down the tubes. And I meant what I said because that's a slap in the face to the FCC. They're gonna go after us. That's how I felt and I was sick to my stomach where I couldn't even go to work 'cause I was just like I can't believe they're doing this. You know, they actually gonna do it cintron IX, the creator of that radio doesn't want to be identified, but he allowed the I team to visit during a Sunday night broadcast as long as. Creating a legal radio station is expensive. If a New York City radio station were available on a legal frequency. It would cost in the neighborhood of seventy five million dollars. According to industry insiders. Instead that uses the frequency.

"All right. Welcome back to the GSM see baseball podcast. So far today, Jeff, and I have talked about these scores over the weekend in the LB spent that last segment talking about the Yankees, maybe possibly moving the Tampa Bay rays over the Montreal, making them the Expos get. Now we move on and the giants fired general manager, their general manager of the past twenty five years, Bobby Evans. I mean, you look at the giants this year. I really did not like the mccutchen signing or the Evan longoria signing at all. I just felt like those guys were everyone knew they were on the back end of their career. Well, since he's been there for so long, they are offering him other job within the organization just now somewhat the heavy title or he can look elsewhere. But with three World Series, twenty five years like he's, he's been the Lynch succumb. And that's Bumgarner and BUSTER Posey. But also there's been some big down years that are unacceptable in a situation like that, and I'm curious. Okay, you got him. We've been there for twenty five years. Do you think maybe the giants ownership or front office looking to to maybe get a fresh start and you think maybe this affects bocce anywhere? Possibly, but I think they would have done the loose together. She and Evans. Yeah, GM the end the season already. I mean a GM the at the season, bocce think is on the hot seat officially amount, but. I would say that the giants GM position a lot of good general managers are looking for to try to get that. Yeah, they're not like they're still they're still good organization organization. So them finding a new general manager. I don't think it's gonna be hard. Plus, I mean, yeah, we're going to San Francisco is the worst thing ever and they have a very high payroll, so they're gonna get someone quality that's for sure. And I'm just curious to see if they bring a new GM of it's kind of like the NFL where you bring a new GM and you let him pretty much higher who he wants the head coach or manager. I think it's going to be a working together with the president or you think maybe they hire someone from within. I don't think so. I heard they're just out there since he's looking for outside of Plymouth. They're looking for outside employment also for the GM position. I don't know exactly who they are thinking of taking, but I'm definitely thinking they're going to take someone with proced-. They're not gonna give new guy opportunity. Keep with someone that they know they can rely on for a good team in another championship run someone who's been there and done that before. Yeah, exactly. Knows. Maybe you can try poach Epstein away from the cubs offer them some kind of crazy amount of money. That's, that's that's more of ages Jesse throwing something out there. Never let him go. Yeah, double that offer probably deal FC needs a statue outside of Wrigley field. The. Oh, sure. I mean, I'm not paying for it. He broke the curse and all that, but the whole team broke the curse to looking at the giants. I mean, they're not a they're bad road team. I wouldn't say there bad home team being the worst record in the National League at the moment. Yeah, leaking out of the thirty one in fifty on the road..
