"And pork asya ends up with this great reward of like rice beans and wine and all this fish. They get to keep all the fish. It's raining support badly. The kid even make a fire so swampy your verse swampy So they have all this raw fish that they got from the challenge and then they decided to just going to start eating it. They say it's sashimi for our works. Yeah he's any raw fish sushi grade fish that you can just eat. I don't know this. So i i eat lots of sushi. Think that's totally fine. Also just like go to the store by efficient heating like an apple like a pulling out of the river using the comically large machete to like cut. It it's it's this mets a giant machete. And i love cerebral. Is this okay to each concerned. I feel like sushi. Chef is a legitimate profession. Or it's not just any idiot can just like do this and Just they alternate okay. Yeah better molina accorded like you've never had sushi and then no break so it's gonna be a very bad night for four asya and la nina. And so we see where. Bob dog and bruce end up bonding and they head off into this shelter or into the qasr adele sharman to stay dry also opened the tribes last bottle of one. So bob dog opens. It passes it to bruce and he's like your takes them in this now dog insists that it's because there wasn't any room in the shelter for him. No one made any space for poor bob dog. What was he supposed to do. Besides go in the casa del sharman entering all the wide enough. Yeah and so. The tribe does not appreciate it at all And courtney is really like laying into bob dog and he tells her that he does feel bad about proving the tribe of wine but he does not feel bad about depriving courtney of one incredible incredible line so first of all that was amazing but also the visual of surrey when she goes and opens up in the morning and just immediately up because she sees bruce completely folded and clearly slept in and has been drinking copiously reasonable alterman to be an ear honey visual of dog and bruce also both in there as well because bob dog is such a big guy and bruce's able to fit into the causes sharman and basically be like a ninety degree angle in there. Yeah and the best part. I think is that like three again. Being amazing she immediately goes out. And i think she's talking to korean john and she's like do you know what they did in their like. She stirs the pot in such a great way. We're like no one like says. Oh serena told me this it just all comes pouring out. And there's a huge argument as a result and we see sorry just behind the scenes just sitting there. Happy as a clam like all this dysfunction is happening somehow in this Immunity challenge we get to a l- amina win. Yeah truly shocking. Given that nick austin have literally been up all night just like dying and somehow strong to win this down while movies a raw fish hangover for and so there's some talk about who needs to go in. This is a wild turn of events. Where shane says bobby needs to go. There's no discussion because there is a bond between the younger guys. Apparently just and that that it needs to be bobby and ours to say no no. No not bobby bruce. Bruce needs to go and shane is adamant that the four young guys are going to get back together after the merge and so they are on board with with bobby but then. Shane is talked out of it. It's this whole mess. And i think it's it's basically like bob swears on shane's kid. He's talking to flop at the merge which like. I don't know why she believes this. Because why do i care about swearing on somebody else's child like but he does he believes it. And then basically it's danielle courtney in sirri decide that they want to vote out bob dog because they don't want ours to be the one who has the control and it seems like in my opinion. It's coming from danielle. Because danielle and bruce seem to have some type of connection That it is shown a ton but we hear about it they do. She sees him like a fatherly. Figure i suppose and now. Shane is pissed because shane made a deal with bob dog and now he's gonna have to go back on that because all the women decided that they wanna vote out bob instead of bruce. Yeah and it's so great lindsay when they come back and tell shane about. Actually the plan is going to be to vote out. And he's like oh my god. Why didn't you tell me this at our ago courtney. And then she goes. Don't yell at me and he goes. I'm just yelling in general clearly as an excuse. Next time i yell at any ever any reason. I'm just yelling in general not yelling at you. Yeah it's amazing. I like they do make the right. Call here in met body says i'm gonna flip at the merge whoever's left over there i'm flipping. I mean when we get to the merge which is only going to be after one more vote. I mean. Nick is going to be there. Austin is going to be there. I think if i it's bobby there instead of bruce Does he at least flip to get it to five five at the first vote. Do we think that that's a likely sarah. Or does he stick with the kasai group that he's been with all time. I feel like that's the moment for terry to use the adl to swing them over and say like i have this. You need to switch over here. And try that buzzsaw terry attempt to this. And it wasn't very successful. I think mainly because he's very good at being a salesman. No no that's not -cation but i will say that. I thought that terry was not talking about that. At the final ten. That comes up later in the hour. So i like i. I don't know like is there enough. They're like i don't know how. Close bob dog with nick austin in the first couple of days of the game. I can't imagine the scenario where ours is also going to flip and go with the younger guys at the merge. So just comes down to. How tight did bob dog get with nick. And austin free swap and then is he like it enough to potentially go to rocks those guys into.

"Can we run a time out right now and just talk about how easy it must have been to sit across from a guy who holds himself in such high regard. And you do too. You grew up being a superfan i know. Sometimes some of our listeners myself included was first introduced to dusty rhodes. He was rocking the polka dots. That's who i knew. I never got to see dusty rhodes in his prime as the nwa world champion selling out madison square garden. I think to see any of that stuff. I never saw the hard times promo as a kid. Now of course later as a tape traders grew up. That was different. Saying my first impression. Industy when i see him on. Tv as a kid it's the polkadot wb version. And i can't imagine sitting down to that guy. A guy who ric flair used to look up to and wanted a pattern his career after. And now you're gonna tell ya we're to have you on a taco shop and you're going to be a plumber and you're gonna work with pizza shop and it'll be a garbage man. And it's all coming. When bruce prichard is in the room like can you imagine what dusty must've thought at the time how old converse have been you know mid to late twenties. It's pretty unbelievable. And it's fun to go back and and hear those first impressions. I think the first one he did there was terry funk you get to hear that dusty impression and it does make me wonder just as a hypothetical you know. I'm big on what if what if rocky three didn't happen and hogan didn't leave would vince of may be gone with dusty instead. Sort of freestyle. That with with bruce in the past. What could that looks like. Maybe that first wrestlemainia when he wants to go into national expansion what you've tried to lure away dusty because dusty had been a proven draw and had all this charisma you can see in the old promos that vince quote unquote junior had a soft spot for dusty man. And mr t. Can you imagine you also here. We've got our first t shirt commercial. We just had three shirts at the time. Of course later we'd become t-shirt in anything. We sat on the show could be turned into a shirt and even to this day. Were still getting suggestions for stuff we say on the show. Hey can that be sure we can that be a shirt Yeah it's fun to go back and here something. Wrestle in the context of it being first episode. Let me spell it for you. Ge seo dot com that's geico dot com. Let's get going. Let's get back to the show dusty rhodes and the wwf so okay so what. You're saying is dusty. Didn't really trust at this. Was on the up and up or he thought maybe you guys were going to bury him or he just wasn't trusting of the situation. Is that fair to say. I think he might have thought that we were yanking his chain a little bit there now. So lo and behold. Vince comes down the next day she'd been yet with us. And vincent dusty had heart to heart. Talk walking around bobby. Heenan neighborhood and decision was made. This is what we're gonna do and let's go some fun with it and we shot the vignettes. We shot the plumber first and then we shopped pizza. Man like solving. We shot one other one down there. That i don't really remember but those again to talk about all we did it his rib. We never looked at anything as. Hey let's do this as a rib. Won't this be a great joke. And let's spend all of this money and invest all this time and energy on television product. Because it's a rib now. We really looked at it as this is going to draw. Okay now for those of you paying attention at home. At this time there is a character. Wwf tv named the million dollar man. And what is the million dollar. Man servant named. And you're going to tell me that he had no reason to believe that. Anything you're saying was a rib isn't necessarily a rib the virgil deal. Surreal what if. Oh my gosh. Listen to you spend. it's a. It's a name that came up. It's a name that fit and worked at the time and at the time. Dusty was in charge of crockett in the nwa in the mid atlantic territory. And you know it might have been suggested is a dig on dusty but at the same time it worked it said now who may or may who may or may not have made that suggestion to name the man servant virgil really don't recall. I think it was joe. Lots can't say for sure all right so now. I'm curious and this is the wrestling nerd in me. When you're shooting stuff like this and tampa Are using a local television crew. Or do you fly. People down from new york Do you get permits to shoot all this or are you just doing this guerilla style. How are these type of old school vignettes doing because i think any classic wwf Memory has to include the way. These characters were introduced to that series of india. How did that come about well. Back in the day was easier to ask forgiveness than permission. So most of the time asking me how i did a lot of times i would just shoot first and let them ask questions later but i always had my own crews currencies. Who's the director of the television show. Kirwin used to come down and help direct that it was all of our own people. Our own croon guys that we worked with every week so new involving. Go down to have this conversation Does the is the crew. Already there or e father down the next day. Or what's the plan for that. Like what he says okay. Let's do it baby. Vasa terrible to the crew crew. Come in shoot the next day so it wasn't a question of is he going to go for. It's a matter of this is what we're doing. We're not helping us. this is. this is what we're doing. we were there. Does she vignettes. We were there to get this thing kicked off so when you're meeting with him. Is there anybody else in the meeting. Or is it just bobby burson dusty that media. Which is bobby. Bruce and dusty. Okay so after everybody kind of agrees and says hey this is what we're going to go do is dusty living in florida. Does everybody kind of go their separate ways and we just say mate you under the sink tomorrow. Or what's the plan icicle. Yeah it's a. We went back to my hotel. Bobby and i did. And of course. Bobby lived there but then wanted to know how the meeting went and worked cell phones time so you had to go bagging on a on a phone in a hotel and talk about it and he decided to come on down to make sure there was.

Veronica's are ago via Florida House committee pushed forward a proposal to impose potency limits on the amount of euphoria inducing THC in medical marijuana products. The measure was approved yesterday It places a 10% THC cap on smokable marijuana and limits THC levels to 16% in other medical marijuana products. Excluding edibles Republican state. Rep. Spencer Roach is sponsoring the measure. He says the highly potent marijuana products now available to Florida patients are blurring the line between medical, cannabis and recreational pot. Roach compares the medical marijuana doctor patient relationship to the states. Opioid crisis. Doctors and patients are taking advantage of our medical program to do two things, get rich and get high. Period, and I think in the state of Florida, we have seen this play out here before in Florida. We know how it ends. And we don't need a sequel. But Democrats, including representative Anna Esseker, Mani disagree, she feels that creating potency caps will just require people to spend more money on their medicine. No part of this bill's actually expanding access, and I do think that the very real concern that we're going to put these caps into place. Look so gonna have to continue to purchase more medical cannabis more than 500,000, Florida residents have signed up for and been authorized by doctors to use medical marijuana and the number of patients continues to climb. That whole thing i liken dislike because that way i can keep track of like the things that i like will go into like a playlist. You can watch things that you forgot about. I find that useful. But i've never liked dislike something or left a nasty comment on video but i think i don't know it gives people a sense of community like they're engaged in something and people that aren't involved you know in life. I had a win stakes one time and the guy that wrote up the ray said she made an rasi like charge. Bobby bruce. you've had really probably the range of emotions as far as an owner and breeder can have in the last few months in horse racing art collector so good in his preparations for this year's kentucky derby winning four races in a row too big allowance races the great to bluegrass the ellis park derby. He figured to be the second choice in this year's kentucky derby unfortunately a little bit of an ailment three or four days before the race forced him to scratch he comes back in the preakness doesn't run as well in the preakness as you were probably anyone had hoped but now you get to see him on the big stage in the breeders cup dirt mile. Tell us about what's been going on in your mind regarding art collector these last four months or so. Well i think. I think first of all surprise to level he got to and you know we kind of we had a plan. We had a plan where where we would running into running menelaus race racing one. Well if he did well there that we would We have three three three race track that we were gonna go and we were. We decided that we would try to run the You know obviously the bluegrass was my big goal. Because i'd i'd gone to school one first. Bluegrass i saw was one that got me interested in the business when crosstalk stark one and So it meant lot to me to win it. What the school university of kentucky keila my favorite track and And we really thought we right on target to do what we wanted to do. And that was in front of the derby and and but then we We caught we were able to run on the ellis park derby rather than sit on the sidelines and he was trading terrific. Terrific facet for the derby. In fact i watched. I watched the two works of act of of the winner of the derby in in our the same day almost identical times and it was it was like watching. Horses could be. You know a match made in evan and data the only got the little thing on his heel we just had the set him out he he never really got completely back to their. Then we had the ship to philadelphia philadelphia but to to baltimore to run in the In the race there the preakness and it just did a lot of bad things happen. One of lewici got a call The next day and and also the fact that he didn't get out of the gate well and it was pretty much speed buys track for the preakness So you know we got to kind of rethink things and He's really training well. Tommy and i did not want to run a mile and a quarter off of that race and so we've backed up to run in the in the mile The mild on have many three year olds. It's primarily going to have to four four year olds to win it of tickly. Probably the two favorites the complexity and and the horse of Of brands so i think You know i think in the end you will where we ought to pay. You know it's going to be A race that i think will be very quick Be surprised if we don't come if the if the tracks good if if the race doesn't come near the track record you know. A lot of people thought he might actually go favored in the kentucky. Derby that's how good he was training. And then you know you you Chronicle the mishaps that he had along the way but right now he seems at least to my i that he's training as good as he was going to the kentucky derby the last two works i i one at churchill was terrific and then last week was just a you know. It's just a maintenance work and you know. I love the ways gone. i love the way axe. He acts happy You know we'll have a little bit of a challenge to get out of the one hole but he's kind of horse if he breaks clean he'll be able to do it I probably rich in being the mileage probably much rather be there than would in the you know ten eleven twelve hole because they've not been very productive at keeneland over the years post position probably most important in the dirt mile this year with that short run to the turn art collector maybe drawing the best post to the mall drawn down along the inside You mentioned that there are some other pace in the race. Looks like a lot of pace actually complexity sp. Nikko go is very very fast..

I don't think that was ever official and I think that program is still ongoing in some smaller towns in the country. Okay. Funny. But I don't know if everybody knows that he's a, he's a producer he's of course, executive producer, but he's A promoter. Time promoter. Now, he's doing big things right now is. His skills are off the charts. There's nobody that can touch them now. Sorry you know with all due respect you know Tony had has run Hulu. I had my run but right now because L.. Khazal is one of the Battisti's bar none. And we got together. We talked he said he was doing big things I said man if you need me I'm here brother I'm not signing nobody I'm just doing freestyle here and there. He said, of course, my brother you know you're windows Sarah A. so he got together with four, five, nine, my brother Ruben Garcia and a bunch of his own, his brother, his brother. He got his thing together four, five, nine. He's the how would you say the associate producer road manager? They came to me what does he does a light? He comes to me rocky. What do you think about this oh? Yeah. Check this out. This is what I feel. He can get any girl singer. I seen I have girls seniors on my band all the time. At the time where he wanted this girl at our planned Swamy Santa Fe Springs. I had Tina L. Donna. One of the baddest singers you're ever GonNa hear look her up Tina Donna on stage and I had Maria Housing and Becker with me Now, Donna was already signed to somebody. 'cause I was going to her I if not second now Latino she's already signed. My next person next to her was my other choice West was Maria. Both of them wanted to right there that was going to be I wanted them to be wanted to one whatever you call it. Mariah I go, you want to do this and she goes. Do. Jumped on it right away I introduced because Zell. And they just bonded row four or five, nine, the all look him. Ryan. Now. Blowing up out the water and that happened because great singer guess one of the balancing around as she gives me my props. I. Give her props. All goodness you so good. So it all started out with Gazelle believing in me taking some great talent. So. He met her and the rest is history. And who knows, and then it gets better. Khazal had faith in that and he also had faith in a gentleman coming up by the name of Joseph King. That boy is unbelievably bad. Now. This guy. Came to Kazan they worked their deal eight man that guy. Okay. Cool. So and told me this I got a guy that wants because I was going to put a studio and do the thing and you go check out a guy named Joseph Kenyatta I. Look on the Internet. Dan's boys bad here I go go with a man yet. He's the choice you go with his sound is now. He's the bomb. And he's been with Kazaa ever since what two years isn't. Just for the for the public that have been asking for an interview with him. Because, they'll joe's has to give me a date. Okay. He said you know he's all my good to have him here. Bro My goodness was bad. I got nothing but respect and love for that gentleman. That does everything that can do we can do the same but he has a whole different style. You just come in from another generation and that's the doping. Both are so but different yes and that's what makes you. Yes. Yes. So I play the bass that's my thing and I sing at the same time he plays keys he plays guitar he plays baby plays drums I, play drums. Kind of similar but his style is just it's ordinary aids. It's one of a kind. So he got together with Mariah and they brought bomb album. I know if you've heard the album but. Album. Dan It gets better and. Better he signed me to the same. The same record. Label. Interesting Music Group is bringing out rocky. I want to say, maybe a few months before we recorded some songs with Joseph Gagnon as as the writer in the producer. Rocky by the a singing and Joseph Kenyon is on the music and the producer production. Ex executive producer because L.. Wait till you hear this incredible tone that's coming out. Okay. "The harsh realities that the real world's going to hit him in the mouth and eighteen months to and it's not going to be you sweet. Nothings that's GonNa be whispered to you by your boss by if you're late or if you miss or that's why I didn't allow late miss and that's why didn't allow you to sit in the back row and those things because every day is an interview and it is a result-oriented business that we live in so a lot of people think that you know you can just wake up and you know. I've never had an alarm clock. Wake me up and never in my life never the five o'clock so I've been that way forever man and I had a quote on my wall man. If an alarm clocks the only reason you wake up you know I- I D- Bobby Bruce couldn't wake up I had we had cindy guy to get them and I'm just like don't let an alarm clock. We the only reason your ass wakes up. You know what I mean and that's actually a ray. Lewis who is quote. He actually quoted it. we were together just a couple of weeks ago but he and I quoted that man and I've never used I've never had alarm. I always woke up optimistically thinking okay. What I gotTa do tomorrow to get better. You know what I mean. WHO's asking my GonNa kick tomorrow and how we're going to attack this day and that's what I fell asleep too but I'd pop up thinking so I never never need alarm even at high school man so it's just one of those things. What do you wake up like. 'cause uh no matter what you do. That's hard to do and what you do is really tough work. What do you wake up like. What's the bigger goal that you hope to accomplish. Is it. The fact that you're turning. These kids lives around and giving them second. Chances is that you know what I mean. 'cause you have to be driven by something pretty real to due to wake up like that yeah yeah man wins and losses mean deadly shitting me just being honest. You know what I mean. Nobody's remember. Do you know who won the junior college national sometimes last year. No nobody cares you know what I mean. Nobody knows nobody cares so but you know who won the BCS National Championship. You know what I mean claims Kasit Out Alabama. Everybody's GonNa Remember Forever Junior Qasr. Nobody cares about who won the National Championship in Junior College. So that's why my kids. I've sent two hundred twenty two kids or whatever it is division. One never had a kick ass kicked out of that school never had a kid go to jail. I make my place harder than it is when they get to the Alabama's CLEMSON's Washington stays wherever they go because does it every season and you know what drives me is getting. Those kids graduated to get scholarships and making sure that they're not robbing McDonald's. You know what I mean more working at McDonald's Donald for that matter so you know hundred twenty six and my two hundred twenty plus kids over in their Basler's twenty six of them have earned their masters. Those are stats. I keep forever in my head because that's allows me to go to sleep at night. Allows me to wake up in the morning not win. The losses yeah so it's Kinda give you make it through your program y- The wrestling where you can do it my kids getting kicked out and they're not pulling up soft and getting cut by the raiders and because they had a hamstring you know what I'm saying. They're going to hit run. Tell you tear it off the bone what so did you then after after going to jail for after going eighteen months. Did you get into coaching pretty quickly after that no man that was shoot. I was high school so I went back in so I tried to get my stuff back together and went to new college founded Mental Mining Cornell Ward who was a street hustler from L. A. and well it really well known in you know he coached me up man really in life not just not playing even though he was a great coach he taught me life and so then uh became a junior college all American man. I thought I was going division. One I signed with the University of Mexico. We're buying lacquer was at the time and had no division clock so I had to go to and I go to four day state out in Kansas and spent two years there and then got a shot with cheese played over in Europe played arena league and then did all that and so now we're in early two thousands and then I decided side. You know what I don't WanNa be a player. No more I want to coach. I think that's what's going to drive me to help others and so started coaching early two thousand in eighteen years since and was that at that point was at a hard transition for you to make or was it already you just felt yourself being more easy once. I saw the politics of the professional football and how it all played out and I'm just like you know I lost a love of being a player and so I think the new ray renowned of of was the renew love of this thing was to help kids in coach it up and I knew watching coach do better than that so so I started coaching man and first job was ahead job Mama Mater Highschool in coach a kid by name of Orlando Scandal who was a young kid and you know he ends up playing for me for a year and then transfer when I left and went back to college coats and then He's been league for ten years plus so it's it's been good good ride yeah. Did you come out the gate with the same style that you have now. I came out the same way man. You all my buddies talking every every ask like man this guy like that on film or actor. What I do has been that way. He's never changed for. Nobody so you know it's. It wasn't the cameras that ever. We're going to bother me. It was the microphone I knew. The microphone was GONNA be there. You know what I mean in the cameras. I didn't even know they were there and that's why the Greg widely the producer was like thank you the most unfiltered. Guy Ever filmed in my twenty years. You know what I mean. He I've been with the whole time man because I was players coached as an assistant it but I still got on their ask because I knew I knew that my whole thing was to protect the head coach even as a youngster. I tell the coaches man your number. One job is to protect attack the head coach and what's that mean that means like you shouldn't have your position so stay on the receiver coach. My receiver should never miss class class and then the head coach finds out he should never smoke weed and head coach finds out he should never go to jail and the head coach find out he should handle all that stuff if something does happen but it should never cross. Austin head coach his desk and he should be loyal guy today coach and make sure that the head coach is protected in every facet as possible out there as far as assistant in the good ones usually understand that and they move on and then becoming head coaches and I had a requirement man as an assistant at when I interviewed him like if I ask them all on the first question. Do you want to be a head coach and if they said no hung up yeah so I want him to take. I want him to want my job. I mean those are the ones that are driven to be successful the same in your profession. I'm sure so to speak you. How do you deal with it because even in my in my job a big thing is like you. It's really the hard to find talent to come work for me and then you run into this thing where sometimes they can't fit the role and you gotta let them go sometimes. Sometimes they get too good and leave yeah. It's this constant thing. Is it like it's like that. In your world. just seventeen coaches division one division two jobs in three years there not only we send one hundred and one kid's division one which is the national record recent seventeen coaches to get bigger jobs and that's what the definition of a coach is to get you where you could not get yourself coaching players whatever but yeah. Minnesota Turnover a high turnover rate you know we had probably seventy coaches plus come through there in three ears and it is what it is managed altering a business but I have a motto in there as staff. I wrote it in my book man. That ain't about me. It's about us and you're only as good as your assistance. I don't care how good you are you. You're not sit without him and I'm not sit without assistance and who do all the grunt work so to speak speak with we used to do to get you know we all had a me and you had visit as the CEO management. We had a vision and based on our whatever mission statement you want. You know I had a missing statement. I followed it which led to me. Having vision of this is what I wanted and then there's there's a process and you see the process. which was you know senior vision being built and then there's the outcome and hopefully it's on your mind? It'll never ever be on your finger type of deal and this was outcome and that's how it is in you know I think without vision without the process happening and you'll never have a positive outcome. You might have negative one but you gotTa have that mission statement debt what your goals and it ain't about me. It's about us you gotTA. Have a bunch of guys going the same direction at the same time yeah. You have like a lot of people do this too. Do you have any you read goals every morning vision board admission. How do you keep your mind constantly on that mission. I'm a quote guy and so I- I wrap our officers and everything was wrapped with every single possibility of Acqu anything I can think of and then next year this past year that I was coming into this year I changed everything because of the Shittier we had and the bad nucleus that we had fired fired bunch of coaches that started over we had good nucleus had a good recruiting class and I changed everything to character first and so we went with a character first motto which was it. Intel recruiting criteria like you're my coaches. Were not going to go in there and not know these ten things and these are the ten ten things we're GONNA ask and number one was like the word will number ten. which was the heart the the worst one is bad body language? We weren't gonNA recruit you. You had bad by language always. I'm not recruiting you. you know being a being a Sayer and not a doer not gonNA recruit you. there's just this disease criteria that we had and you know if if they met if they didn't meet those things we're going to walk out the house and not recruit them in so I think we had better nucleus of kids coming in this year because of the character the first model that I preach staff from from from December through February and it was in ingrain I think we're on our way but unfortunately I left yeah and then how did take me through like going from start coaching start finding your groove there. What's that road look like all the way up until you know right before we started seeing you on TV and how you establish really your own thing and found your own land me what what once again. What is so cool to me? Ah what I admire so much about you as you found what drives you so. There's a million ways to be a coach or you. Found your place where you get you find purpose. You feel good about it. That's where you thrive and you can see that on camera. So what was that process of finding. Where even you fit I had had I never gave a shit what anyone thought you know what I mean. I was going to be me regardless men. That's who I am that way on the show off too so I'm the same Guy Guy in the staple center the big three last week you know all those guys wanted me me which was honor to meet some of those guys. They all wanted to meet me. They're like man. That's the call I'm like Damn. Eh didn't know the show is that well received. You know what I mean but I'm the same guy though I'm never going to change and I think that's what my genuineness in my You know harsh realities. I think has made me the best recruiter in America. It's allowed me to be who I am probably project object. Well on film like everybody tells me No. You're made for cameras. Is I may for Shit. I'm dave from my bed but you know it's one of those deals where people look at you and like I said man you know there's no way this guy's like this all the time and the producers lie man he's literally that way regardless if on film off film camera whatever here and so. I never really thought about you know what my niche was. You know what I mean. Knits was just me being myself and it is what it is. What happens happens happens in you know. Why do you think you ended up at junior college working with these 'cause you were doing that before cameras right why that's why I am yeah. I think think I'm as Juku gets. It's the most rewarding level period to coach D. One. Nfl Regard Junior colleges is the most single rewarding level coach period and I'm a guy that thinks see if you all these guys are like there'd be so fast to get out of Jakoda. Go Division Asian. Warn let me I need a d. Ones that I never had offered man I never I wasn't the guy to leave that fast..

"And the thing that I would add to that is that I think the thing that is special about our business is that there's an amazing point as a young person maybe somewhere between fifth and eleventh grade where you. As a young person think anything could be possible. Like, I thought I was going to be a rock and roll star had long hair. I played guitar. You know, other people thought they were gonna go to the NBA or they were gonna do something else. Parents like, yes. And good for you. My parents were like nice Jewish boys. Don't get to be Rockstars at my grandparents. Bobby Bruce Springsteen, it'd be an economist. Yeah. They bought me. A Bruce Springsteen record to show me. And I was like he's half Irishman Italian. But I wanted this abuse them of that notion. And so like that is amazing part about being a young person. And it's actually one of the best parts. And I think that we tap into that aspiration. So when we launched our gaming team, literally we received thousands of messages from kids saying I want to be on your gaming team. Are they good enough? No, they're definitely not good enough. But they think that that's possible. And that's amazing. Just like they watch these other kids, and they think I might be on overtime. And in fact, they might be on overtime or they might play in a match with one of our gamers, and I think that that emotion. Personal component is really really different than me sitting at home. Watching some player who gets paid one hundred million dollars a year where that distance is so great, and I come back to the idea of community, and my come back to this emotional feeling of what it means to be a young person and participate and see people like you and think you might be on overtime. And I think in a way that's what makes our business special, and I have a separate Instagram account aside from my personal account where I am the CEO of overtime. And I follow, you know, five thousand kids who follow us, and they DM me. And they send me messages like I just want to let you know that in twenty nineteen I'm going to be on overtime. And I say great like at and that that aspect of it. It's just different. And so when people are like media companies aren't doing, well, I'm like well media companies that are involved in the hearts and minds of kids that like tap in the dreams that celebrate all those those are going to do great people who throw up a couple blog posts about the news or about technology. Yeah, they're screwed. But that's what we're doing. Hey, you've already crossed that threshold Hari. Thank you. Jim listens. By the way. Hey, jim. And just so we're clear that this thing that I was hoping for a bunch of years because I have kids now that that. Leagues and gaming was going to be sort of a trend that you're hoping this year's. Yeah. We're we're stuck with it. Right. We're definitely kids view gaming watching watching other people play video game as as as legitimate. Frankly, more interesting than watching real sports. Why is watching somebody run up and down the field? And intellectually get intellectually why that's the case. But but the point is we don't think this is a blip or the equality of of of a fortnight dance that comes and goes, I don't think so I will say that that most people tend to watch games that they play versus I don't play football. But I'm I watch football. They tend to watch games that they play because they wanna see people who are really good because they want to learn how to get back at age with it. So when they're thirty five they're on their couch watching, you know who one hundred percent Jay is on fortnight. Yes. So like my son played in a gaming tournament. So all of a sudden, I had something at stake. And I watched it, and it was exhilarating and at the end of four hours of watching. I thought oh my gosh. There were no commercial breaks. There were no timeouts. Everything was like on the edge of your seat. It's a battle royale game. So it's like you are eliminated, and you are done. I cared about one of the characters in the game because he was my son, and it was in enormously exciting, by the way, thinking about third of the conversations I had at the NBA all star weekend..

"And so they, they did that. And so you see some of those things they kinda has more of a villain than he really is. You know, they don't show Sundays. They don't film on Sundays. Sundays is a huge day for us coaches because that's when I bring really thin and we got, we start to gain. We watched last night's film. We, you know, he's in their very contrite Klein is, is out talking about fucked up years and and trying to just reach out of his like something trying to get out of them. And you know you talking about a super extremely talented kid who has, you know first round in fell written all over him. Kenny get out of his own way. And so now you got Florida Atlantic university on why head coach, why is a guy Nick roller ditch? And we spoke in, he's really intriguing in line is they have to ask themselves, you know, does the reward outweigh the risk at the end of the day? And so Maliki graduated, he's got a degree to your degree and he has three years to play at the division one which is also very good for those guys. 'cause he has three years most of the Jimmy guys on the two years. So he's got three years to play and. You know, that's kind of how it is, but you know, people don't realize I was talking to the producer of the show. I say, you know, you know, I could bring me back and really fuck anybody's heads up. Greg like, oh, she has never wanted show of all time. So you know, it's a but hopefully gets out and he'll be the only one man. 'cause everybody else's signed in which is a national record in one year, we had forty guys go divis- one off one team and graduated on time. Also that's the most important in. So those guys all over the place, there's guys that aren't even showcase on the show that are big time, big time schools that they really weren't. They didn't really have a backstory like the other guys, so, but you know, he helpfully lands at somewhere real soon. Hopefully this week I think about him signing two more. Good. Good, good. And what about the kid? Bobby, Bruce. So Bobby Bruce, you know, he's on my shit listening. I, he's back on campus as we speak here. We'll we'll have practice again in the morning, and he's here. He, he, he missed my summer work ass because he missed two plane flights and his head coach got him. And in high school, his high school coach got him. He missed them and just caught up in Bush basically at the wrong place at the wrong time, man. And that's what he, that's my personally handpicked kit. And all those kids were that you saw on the show and you know, I, I'm like, he knows, and he should never even went home. He's got a super super bad back story. I mean, his mom, you know, into institutionalising whole life is brother got killed. You know, he, he's got a bad home life and he's really contrite what. Anyway, the bottom line is he, he gets arrested. He goes to jail, probably for thirty days. Why? Why they figure this out?.

"Of course you meet her and you fall in love with her. She's fantastic. There is a temptation when you're involved in academics to focus on a player's eligibility. And that of course, means getting them the class and getting good grades. Miss pinker is interested in that, but she is interested in a much deeper way in challenging these young men and challenging them to grow intellectually. So. Hey, it's great that you're showing up here and it's great that you're taking this exam and it looks like you're going to pass it good for you, but I want to challenge you on some things that you're saying to me in class. I want to press you on this. I want to challenge you intellectually. I wanna see you grow. She would organize a book club. None of the kids would receive credit and yet they would faithfully show up every week to this book club in which she tried to pick a book that would be relevant to these kids lives and then would try and bring up things from the book that she thought would also be relevant to their lives and challenge them in a way intellectually. None of that was serving them to be eligible to play football on the weekends, but she felt like this was going to this was going to give them some set of tools that will serve them for the rest of their life and who wouldn't find that arable. Yeah. I mean, I think you know so many times in fictional stories, coach and teacher are like they butt heads adversary. They like stand for two sets. Of ideals and like they hate each other baba, blah, like hearing you talk about what you really care about in terms of these men and hearing what she cares about in terms of preparing them for the future. It seems like y'all stand for the same thing. Y'all. Y'all just want them prepared for life coach. What? What has been your relationship with in terms of dealing with the academic side of these kids lives knowing that that clearly is something that you need like they need to care about once that been like for you at at the school? It's kind of the same challenges wherever, you know, I've been to. You know, eight schools or whatever as a coach. I mean, it's it's pretty much the same same issues as you face getting to go to class sitting in the front row, don't wear hats. Visors nowhere earphones. That's our policy that I've taken just so the teachers know that the kids are there for business and not messing around Texan onto phone screwing around. So you know, I, you know, my thing is make the teachers work and go see him in their off hours. Go see him in their office hours. Go see him in those times. So it's harder for a teacher to bubble in a grade of an f when you have a relationship with that person and they know that your care were communica login, our our sole mission should be get these kids moved on and matriculated through the process. And sometimes I think teachers think that you know, junior colleges, Harvard as not. These kids don't have any clue how to take notes. They don't know how to read and write most of them. So. We gotta teach them. So that's basically, you know, my stance on it. Teachers need to teach. They just need to teach coaches to teach to. That's our job. We're teachers I, and so you know, if I can get the kids to do the little part, I think they can. They can all are in a c- minimal just by doing those things attending every day, doing their homework sitting in the front, and then you know, pass a test here and there you can get a b. so people don't know, junior college athletes now have to have a two point. Five GPA. Okay. Used to be a two point. Oh, so now for them to transfer from my place to in Alabama to Georgia to wherever they needed to point five, the general populated student needs a two point. Oh, so it's harder on archive than it is general population soon. It so bottom line is, you know, we gotta get them through the process and it's all hands on deck and I've been doing a long time, so I don't have an academic advisor so to speak. I'm basically it and my staff is it. So we walk into class, we make sure we, we pick them up from class. We take him the next class. It is babysitting wanna. One I did want to play one more clip between MS pinker was. Would you don't kick off of specialties? Get hurt for the great. What is to be a fucking crash of Mr. Bruce, you more than football. I want you to stay and whenever we I can have you let me help you. I'm here. Okay. Okay. Don't leave so much of the scene center in the film. You know, our involving Uber like there are ways that some of your own players might open up differently to her than they might to you just like hearing a clip like that, or, you know, eventually watching, what does that mean to you? So those kids specially that one. That's Bobby, Bruce, rely backer. Yep. And so you know, see the conversation you just heard is something that you know he was a, he's not gonna get from me. He's gonna get tough love for me because I know his background which is a bad one. Brothers killed mom's a crack head in jail. He's got a bad, bad home life. So as coach. Back home knows that. And so he bought him ticket after tickets to keep them really short lived when he went home and then he'd write back to Kansas. But you know, he's
