"I'm Bob Sims thank you for tuning in this morning well there's just no other way to say it California is a real mess Hey I mean it's a real mess not only in the outdoor field merger with error report it is a maths but we'll just have to try to get through it and we will their owns I have never seen the people pushing back like they are now against the regulations coming out of anywhere from the governor's office through all the county health officials and what we've been talking about the last few weeks as kind of building up to a crescendo type thing you know it in the beginning I thought I thought the governor at a good grasp on things like that I thank god he put restrictions in place that were reasonable or trying to be safe but then you know it's just not that easy and all these county health officers are charged with basically regulating people's activities and you know what it is pretty obvious that they don't have a clue about people's regular activities at least some of them and when we have problems in the overall directives we are finding out that the governor doesn't have a clue what's going on either now it it it's getting them to you know when the going gets tough as they say the topic did go in there and in California the going gets tough on everybody Alex and then ends up doing nothing and that's what I think people are frustrated with I mean it's not brain surgery out there the people of this state know how to stay safe there's always going to be a few exceptions I think got virus situation is going to be with us for a while so I don't think any of mine our regulations is gonna make a big impact but you can always play it safe like look look what happened this week in Lassen county will Lassen county was one of the counties that restricted their local stayed home orders early and let people go out and do things with more activities and workshops opening up the whole work then all of a sudden I think it was five infections bull may shut it right back down there just they re of both those those restrictions and they took a good look well what's happening here is this going to be county wide was just a a a isolated spike well they got a handle on it and as soon as they did and they knew why those five infections happen and they had it and they got it covered they opened it back up again now why can't the rest of the state be that smart my goodness we've got to open it up some time and there's some things I really don't understand when you really think about it with the people with all the knowledge they have and the social distancing yeah who knows whether you should wear a mask anymore every day that changes but you know just stay away from people don't talk in people's faces don't let anybody talk in your face that kind of thing watch what your touch we're all we're about now will you tell me were camping camping is really violating social distancing you don't go out camping the city near neighbours campus Bentley now and chip shop through feet away it doesn't happen so you can still visit you keep social distancing I don't think the people that are making these rules just understand I mean I don't know if I can get real sarcastic about it and sometimes I can't help myself I probably will but I mean why the people that don't know anything about these things makers are making all the rules about these things and we proved that the boat launching I mean a lot of people panicked in the beginning well look at that full bowl Rabbids shortfall distant violation well it wasn't at all because you go on I'm not saying one hundred percent there's like I said there's always going to be exceptions but I'll tell you the sheriffs in this state in all the counties kept an eye on that they weren't hesitant cut to warn people when they saw anything like that happening things went along great people did a great job you can have a full parking lot the people of make the rules didn't understand that that full parking lot happened over a period of two or three hours and with boats and trailers you don't really come in contact with anybody else well the same with camping so you have basically a lot of people were getting real fed up with make a rules about things the way I don't know anything about and people are given miles so with that being said there's some pretty interesting things going on around the state the delta is it's not really exactly what you would call great fishing but there are still they're still drivers to be had I want to hear mark Wilson's report he went out couple days this week they cut a lot of fish they caught a lot of shakers the card along the spawned out fish they caught some fish that have not spawn yet that's all I'm speaking mostly down in Rio Vista area so burial probably have a little broader perspective that just a few minutes then you talk about this state being a met a mouse wait two years here and the Julie on those take they have been struggling to get party boats on the water they've got plans for social distancing it's out in the open the it's in the bay in the ocean I mean this is the kind of an area where you don't pass this virus and yet all these officials I mean they are proving their absolute stupidity because listen live as of last night the boats even even though San Francisco yesterday a reestablish did stay at home order you have to stay home but it's okay for the party boats to go out with certain provisions you know they're just really reducing their loads up what you're doing so it they're allowing the San Francisco party boats to go up and then this week so Sausalito the harbor there Marin county they gave them the Marin county boats in Sausalito permission to operate but over in Alameda county Emeryville and Berkeley Berkeley who had been going out has been restricted again Alameda county has not released Emeryville and Berkeley both to go out now who knows I might have changed overnight we're gonna find out soon enough it is really frustrating and then down a moderate I'm not sure what happened there but I know Chris sarcolemma last week was really getting fed up I mean the phone to run it ringing off the hook people are ready to abide by any regulations are set up there fort Bragg is in a real hurt I mean to you if you talk about a dysfunctional tile they're about to destroy their their little community of there by indicating they don't want anybody up there until Labor Day now if they do that first of all party boats ninety five percent of their income in June July and August in Fort Bragg the other businesses probably earn upwards of seventy percent of their income in those months and they want to keep things closed until Labor Day now here's some people that just don't get it they don't know there will be any businesses to open after not careful and we've we've talked before there is a way to do it safely but some people just don't cry anyway okay don Pagnell he will join us bass fishing Clear Lake really kind of funny because clearly I can always been open to Lake County residents only until they found out last week that the lake was owned by the state the state can't discriminate so they had to open up to outside the county residents but even ABAP like eighty to ninety percent of the boats on the lake are all local because there's no place to stay in color wandering is still locked up tighter than a drum now that's another thing why is wandering not allowed there's other places up in reading lodging is allowed the whole motels are packed people are all over the place there's campgrounds open the other part of the state nothing now why is that when we're all listening to the same governors orders I don't get it and what is he done about it nothing absolutely nothing but don has a better bend to Clear Lake but he knows people in this band there I talked to Terry knight fissions wide opener catching a lot of fish over there will get the updates on berry Elson fulsome what's going on there Scott lace up will join us he had a little incident and a beach dollars Santa Cruz you'll get a kick out of mark Wilson as I mentioned before he was down in the delta a couple of times we'll find out exactly where he called his vision how we did it then we'll get a report from mark Louisville they canceled a huge plant this week but that doesn't mean there's a shortage of fish the council because of the potential whether this coming in this weekend first of all.

"Now California along with Texas in Georgia report the highest levels of an adjusted initial claims last week most states actually saw the Kleins for the week before well apple commanded a majority share of the smart watch market in the first quarter covert nineteen encouraged health tracking actually which was good for sales of the smartwatch right now Dow futures still higher up three hundred fifteen points my mate Corey with the Bloomberg business reporter news ninety three point one K. F. B. K. thanks a lot here's Bob Sims with the outdoor report finally there's a lake in northern California that has re opened its Collins lake in Yuba county and there are opening within the guidelines of Yuba county health officials and that's the way it should be they are open for camping of course is going to be more restrictive than before the virus they're going to be open for boat rentals but there's going to be serious social distancing guidelines you have to adhere to another word five people in a fifteen foot boat is not gonna cut it they're gonna open it to people with their own boats but here again social distancing family members it cetera that's going to be enforced and it's going to be open for day use for just hikers and people that want to get out there doing it the right way they'll have disinfectant wipes throughout the park at the store at the restrooms and other places throughout the park restrooms will be service several times each day and if the occasion occurred you can't keep proper social distancing you must wear a mask now a side note twelve net pens filled with thousands of fish have been released in the Collins lake plus official wildlife plant it's going to be busy check their website Collins lake dot com and be safe if you go there Bob Sims K. "Morning everybody this is the KPK outdoor show I'm Bob Sims thank you for tuning in this morning this Easter weekend well the difference between this week and last week it was like night and day the virus situation and in the in the outdoors what is happening California a lot more county medical officers have gotten involved the bottom line ends with these people they they make the final determination on what's safe for their counties and what activities you can and cannot do however the one problem with that you could have it it's like the Forest Service who has education for service all over the state right next to each other with entirely different regulations well here we have counties right next to each other with the entirely different restrictions and rules and everything else because they don't talk you know you think that the county health officials would all get together and say well we're doing this what do you think all that be great yeah we'll do that yeah and it just doesn't happen so here we're just going to have to bear with it and go county by county managed to Cheryl's job to for the police depending on what town you're in to enforce these these rules as we go along I mean the perfect example of this is a few weeks ago Boulevard of the blue they closed down every body of water in Lake County and of course including Clear Lake this wasn't because of the intense study done by the county health officer over there but what it was there was one boat ramp that was really crowded yeah they say well this is gonna happen we're just going to have to shut everything down they shot Clearlake down without first really confirming there's been any social distancing problems you're going to have fifty vehicles and trailers in a parking lot at a boat ramp that doesn't mean fifty people are putting their bold and at the same time they put those both in over a period of hours maybe one or two at a time and they don't have to violate the social distancing well I don't know now it's hard to criticize because everybody's trying to do the best day but if if if for example for county health officer has the final say that is not a Fisher person it doesn't understand how the logistics of putting boats in and just looked at a parking lot that's not a realistic thing and then they over react and they figure well every lake in the county is going to be like this so they closed things like Indian valley reservoir or Pillsbury so you see the problem there so it's not consistent so we'll just have to deal with it we will give you some examples today basically lakes most of the lakes are off limits here you can like lake Berryessa closed this week because people got in there were stupid and then a lot of violating of the social distancing and so the bureau of reclamation shut it down these people didn't give many choice I mean you have five and six people in a boat you got over a dozen people in the house vote let's go have some fun like nothing's wrong it's not gonna happen people and it's not gonna happen so today we are faced with the the Sacramento River being open no not all the ramps are open but from the tip of Sacramento county to Sherman island were that ramp is closed today because as we've used a weekend but it will open up Monday morning along with Hogsback island they will but they're just shut down for Easter weekend they don't want people to congregate so that clear on up to Colusa where the Colusa county they just the county medical health officer came out with a new directive yesterday I'm not sure what it is at this point but basically it's restricting people you cannot help people outside your family more than three of the bodies of the whole thing Harker and the sheriff is going to enforce this bottom line when you get to a boat ramp do not go over and check out with your buddies they're gonna be watching you don't show up with four or five people in an eighteen or twenty foot boat you cannot realistically keep the social distance of six feet affected in a boat like that you're you're gonna make trouble for everybody if you do that okay with that being said out on the next deal the fish and game commission meeting tried to hold their teleconference meeting Thursday morning then what R. believes Astor it was it was not only a disaster it was shameful it showed what first of all the California fish and game commission doesn't know how to do this I mean they they admit in all of Panama I mean five hundred people were on the line all wanting to talk they didn't know how to shut those people off they told them to mute their phones by pressing the star search or whatever was in that turned everybody's phones on the and then in the middle of the confusion they just hung up and went away so it was really shameful but I will tell you later on about all could have been avoided but they they have scheduled another meeting for next week yeah we're gonna have a Stafford layer of the department of fish and wildlife on later on in the program I'm talking about exactly what time the meeting is going to be how to approach it and what the fish and wildlife and the commission are going to try to achieve and what they're not going to try to achieve meaning close down fishing statewide that was never there in town but we'll talk about that as we call hello Danny who I listen to a recording of that and there was a I've never heard anything quite like it I thought I was going to plan on the program but I think we can just talk about it we really don't have to rub it in sure is not going to happen again Oct I guess it could happen to anybody but there were sure no preparation going into this one tell your so today we're going to dominate get give a combination of of course try to keep you posted where you can access where you can't access and more you can how the fishing him so okay of course we'll talk to bury in just a couple minutes and then Andy Julie Arnold will join us to the bottom of the hour and talk about the meetings from the Pacific fisheries management council and actually the council is really trying to make up to the fishermen of California speaking of the salmon season now what we're losing as we speak and so it's really a good effort by them and then he can can really explain a little bit better you know the rock fishing season is still open all you have to do is find a place to put a bow him if you don't have a boat in a marina then Dan Barker will join us at seven six are truly five forty five yeah he was he was in a meeting so we'll talk more about that then begin because we are in the middle of Turkey season and Majali who's the author of ten steps to becoming a successful Turkey Turkey on earth will join us at the beginning of the six o'clock hour talk about tactics we have to think about in the middle of the Turkey season it's kind of been forgotten in this whole covert nineteen of pandemic thing but it's been forgotten by everybody but the Turkey hunters are out there that's a great activity because you actually don't go out Turkey hunting with the crowd you know it's a very isolated form of hunting so we'll give you a few tips there Scott late shift will join us mark Wilson was out several times this week both trolling and bait fishing he will have a wealth of information on scrapers and let me tell you there is no shortage of stripers clear on up to Colusa and now the middle by is starring in a well it had started earlier you know drafting the big medals for stripers and then the river and we had that storm last week and then the river came up a little bit muddied up a little bit and put that on hold now they're back doing it again so everybody is scrambling to get minnows they made the last delivery here and in Sacramento it last night but up at Calusa and Yuba city that whatever they have on a house going to have to allow stem through Wednesday and I think the shops do have quite a bit but I would get there earlier rather than later okay anyway then rob Reimers is going to talk to us about up river both stripers M. sturgeon and people are with the stripers coming people tend to forget about the sturgeon will don't forget about the sturgeon there's a lot of sturgeon in the river they just snuck up there and they are being caught okay arrival also give us a report on Bullard's bar reservoir okay then in the seven o'clock hour this is a real treat don't miss this because Brian record your big Daddy's guide server because he's not working now but he had been fishing lake Almanor so we're going to talk about what's going to be happening at lake Almanor war and maybe eagle lake and maybe Bucks lake when this sling is all over talking about may and let me tell you L. menores por is for a terrific year it's not that tough to get to there's good camping there when they re open a boat launching places to stay restaurants and one of the best fishing lakes in the state yeah I'm Brian's got it dialed in and the techniques we're gonna talk about today you'll be able to apply to many other works once they open as well he's just a joule when it comes to teaching people Hey doesn't hold anything back either seven fifteen Gary Cole will join us we'll talk about what they're going to do with the big screen the spring a trout and salmon derby at Shasta actually that has been postponed but they just discovered they just made that determination yesterday he will fill us in on that also some coke any fishing at Whiskeytown so that should be interesting that's still open their eyes there shall stir America Arjun some Bruisers and shaft there were talk on trial here then don packing alley will join us and talk about fishing the delta for both stripers and black bass and both can be very very good but we're not talking **** trolling or baitfish prescribers of course don you're going to be captain swimbaits surface plugs and then the black bass fishing and then we'll finish it off with Stafford Lehr at seven forty five updating us on next week's fish and game commission meeting the intent of that meeting yeah it will be clarified beyond any doubt okay so we're gonna try to help the the divisional wildlife support that they're trying to get a job done it's very important to small counties and keep it off I mean for example modal county may have twelve hospital beds you can't take any chances on account it worked out so anyway all that and more coming up in the next two hours and forty five minutes on the KFBK outdoor show thanks for being here.

"Right now the Dow futures up to eighty eight I made Corey with the Bloomberg business report on news ninety three point one K. F. B. K. okay thank you so much and let's get a little outdoor report now Bob Sims is standing by there's fewer and fewer fishermen on the waters the specially the rivers and that's good because there's fewer and fewer places you can put a bow to him however there are a few places left now they're closing a lot of lakes and reservoirs because by the time you add a fisherman and pleasure boaters and picnickers and hikers and everything else there's a crowd there they just don't want to take a chance on the smaller counties man because if they had a virus outbreak they don't know the medical facilities to handle local people let alone everybody else so that's understandable but down a river just a boat ramp so if we can manage that was social distance C. and that's good because those striped bass are really kick in him I mean some bigger fish moved in yesterday down at the west bank below Rio Vista a lot of fish over eight pounds we haven't been able to say that very often deep trolling shallow trolling that's all working a lot of bait fishermen off the bank near Sacramento bait fisherman up between Sacramento and Verona and they all seem to be catching at least a few fish that's good for now keep an eye on things Bob Sims KFBK striped bass Kickin in we go let's let her roll time for a little what year what happened it's April ninth here is Mr our part now to tell us what took place on this date on April ninth April ninth on this day in eighteen sixty seven the Alaska purchase happened at the United States bought Alaska from Russia empire for seven point two million dollars in the IT yeah maybe the greatest real estate deal in history America maybe Louisiana Purchase maybe I think that one might be a little bit better I mean it's more land yeah so let's face it the our forefathers for a while there they were on a roll with some good realistic there was some true businessman right right all right in the next one I have is nineteen seventy seven so this is a debate here Abal Abal I think it's abba I think it's you think it's abba gives when you lose.

"Good morning everybody this is the KPK outdoor show I'm Bob Sims thank you for tuning in this morning well what we have is another unique situation everything we talked about last week world for a better for you concede light everything anyway but just right off the top just for those getting an early start taking advantage of the striper which are running pretty good I mean we're we're in the middle of the streams the spring stripers one right now but in Sacramento Garcia a Bellman is shut down okay and it's not shut down for any health reason or political reasons it shut down because coincidentally yesterday was the start of construction on flood control along the river levee in the pocket district in fact they're going to do the same thing that they did on other Sacramento area levees they're going to dig a ditch down the I don't know how it would be like a hundred feet or so right in the middle of the levy and then they put in the US are concrete slurry that really increases the flood control wall construction for that started in the staging area is Garcia bet on of all things so so that is one other boat ramp that you will not be able to use however as of yesterday afternoon late discovery park is open and also the the L. corn ramp is open up the Sacramento River at down the ramp under I. five is open I'm not sure about Verona itself I'm not sure about my G. landing but my guess is that will stay open but you you have to eat you have to have an alternative because things could have changed overnight down in the delta a lot of people were played they plan on going to various resort that is not open there's no boat Wintrich lodging at Vieira's resort now at last call home back on island on steamboat slough was open Errol had a harbor on minors shoe was open down below the city of Pittsburgh has kept their ramp open and at the very tip of the Sacramento county Sherman the island boat ramp is open the boat ride the city Bo rhap Rio Vista close the county rap just just a mile south of Rio Vista closed Brannan island state park closed that's amazing there's an eight lane route with a dozen people last Sunday and they close at but anyway he has closed down so that's the way that you go up the river now you want to access a lot of good river and and that the the closest wrap your going to get to like the Eildon bridges co Capt no co cat can accommodate about a dozen of vehicle in trailers okay it's a good rap I think they still have gas there so and if you want to jump in there and go down and fish the I. Alton bridge area in a long while and now it's good to go up by walnut Grove renders georgianne as slow that's the best route for you okay what's going on fishing world we will have our reports today pardon the stripers the stripers are they just keep same to moving in to what we call the west bank which is below Rio Vista in the Sacramento River I know there's some action on the San Joaquin River but I'm not hearing as much as I would have expected.

"The KPK outdoor show I'm Bob Sims thank you for tuning in this morning well we got a little storm headed our way of course being the skeptical sort on this weather I'll believe it when I see it usually when they make such a big deal about a storm this time of year it doesn't quite live up to expectations well let's hope it does we need the rain but in the meantime things are shifting around as far as people's focus in the outdoors and by the way I might add with this all the slough corona virus thing going around what a great way to relieve the stress of that get me outdoors right okay open I mean you're not exactly clustered together I think you are in an auditorium or a a sports venue some people are free to camping some people buy lots of toilet paper I mean I don't know why I must've missed that chapter somewhere along the line but I know there's lots of spot you have an RV the perfect time of year there's nothing like a little spring fling out camping lot of people go tent camping Mr course they have the gear these days to where you can be comfortable tent camping you know what they make these tents out of now use me is in a different materials where you can stay warm and dry even in the winter and of course the clothing they offer you can stay warm and dry all year long as well so there's nothing like having a nice camper began and there's big fire why not to get away from all the stress and this this neurotic I mean life goes on I I mean I had to hit the sea I mean how many people died of the flu in this country every year what are we out of fifty people have died in the corona virus in the United States that's bad enough I mean but look at the look at the odds of look at other sicknesses people succumb to this so far is nothing so I mean with the read the point is don't don't be too paranoid I mean you can still live your life you don't have to go out and spend sitting a foot and a half from somebody Mary I get kind of tired of the whole press the national press even the local press are all almost beauty about all the things they get to announce about everything closing from sporting events to schools I mean it's a news no they they spent a whole career I mean the worst thing for a news person is a slow news day now we got a lot some areas they're happy no not really but I mean that you know what I mean almost giddy about all this I mean anyway I think it's it doesn't do your psyche and in a good because it sounds like a panic thing every time they announced something that doesn't have to be I thought to be honest with you I think what what we're doing as a community as a country is it there might be some definite over kill in there or over reacting in there but it's the safest thing to do if we want to nip this thing in the bud that's the way to do it because once it peaks is going to go down and things are going to school to get back to normal it's not like a financial crisis that was if it didn't start as a as a financial crisis it starts as a medical crisis which is temporary so okay right you can still do a lot of things in your life you don't have to be confined at home for crying out loud just think about it listen to the places we'll talk about today a lot of mu like to be there maybe not during the rain this time of year but you still like to be there so what's going on striper wise R. all this past week the stripers have returned or new schools have moved in this is the best this is the second big school we've had in the last three weeks two weeks ago we had some fish move in on Sunday down to west bank which is below Rio Vista and then I mean fishing was good up to Friday I think in the weekend and the wind started to blow when the wind let up the fish were gone and it was like that for a week and then this past week another but showed up N. as of yesterday afternoon they were still catching the heck out of and some nice size fish to show these fissures spread out another catching some fish up at liberty island they're catching a few fish yup the lower portion of the Sacramento up the lower portion to steamboat slough and you know you know how that goes is probably very few people fishing the upper portion of steamboat but new knowledge is that time of year so we'll get a report couple reports today on that steelhead fishing any enemy normally we think of March is winding down the steelhead season of course the American river never got going one day somebody will explain that to me why the American river steelhead brown continues to be such a failure while other rivers do well well what's happened over on the coast all the coastal rivers there's no water it doesn't take long for a lack of rain to really have an impact over there in the meantime open I'm korva this is this is the month that everybody fishes the Umpqua potter Roseburg Oregon what's a steel head their problem up there no water it can violate confines everybody to them lower main stem it gets crowded it gets a bumpy for their drift boats sure this upcoming storm is really a welcome thing for the steelhead fishermen up there the the other two places are catch and still it is the is the Klamath and Trinity course nobody fishes to Klamath anymore except for that upper thing above I. five were bunch of fly fishermen congregate up there but the biggest fish are to be found downstream of that they spawn all along the Klamath they go up rivers like the shaft of the Scott the Salmon River towards creek Indian Creek all of but nobody goes there is not very good accommodations along to climb so so you don't it's hard to get reports now if you book a trip like from Mario Gomez out of happy camp you probably go out have a pretty doggone good day but he's up in the on the Umpqua his brothers version but any kind of few bookings fishing's pretty can be a pretty good the other places the Trinity Trinity even though it's been low and clear as a surprising amount of fish on it in this it continues to this day so this rain should help that as well other things you know the upper Sacramento River by reading normally called the lower Sacramento River up by reading I mean that river again a week or two ago was down to like thirty six hundred feet per second that's really low at the you don't want to take your big expensive jet boat up there when it's that low so it was a drift boat situation but now the river went up to over five thousand now I've settled back down into I think forty six to forty eight hundred and the fishermen who really good for especially for big fish Porter Carrera was out there yesterday and I think they got twenty fish on the smallish while rainbow was sixteen inches in the biggest twenty four inches close to five pounds unbelievable Fisher we will get a report there the screams like the upper Sacramento River up by Dunn's mere E. you know they have a year round season up there you know you have to use artificial lures Barbie this hooks you know no Bates allowed no you can't keep anything but the river's bend gorgeous shape and have been catching a lot of fish coming up from the lake some big fish in the lower river show that's a possibility but this storm is going to change that as well I talked to mark Christopher all he usually we're talking Donner lake with mark but it just took a day off a win over the pyramid lake and they got about a dozen fish up to maybe seven or eight pounds beautiful looking fish so get a report from him on how he did that pyramid lake is still going on the bigger fish are gonna come from the shore fishermen specifically the fly fisherman that's the double digit people you go out in a boat this time of year that's not where the biggest fish are for some reason so that's just the way it's always been a pyramid and then we also Donner lake has been he cannot not many Mackinaw but some pretty good side wins over twenty pounds not bad we'll get a report from don pagan alley on the on Berryessa and told him full time starting to come on finally Berryessa has been coming on it should be real good this coming week at the official moving up not quite as much in Folsom lake fulsome legos usually two or three weeks behind Berryessa just because think of it where is the water come from very very us up on Cobb mountain there's no snow on Cobb mountain where is it fulsome get its water from the peak of the Sierras so we're getting lots of nice cold ice water in the fulsome that's what usually is a few weeks behind but it's on its way it is on its way very cold by the way the fishing in the city that was scheduled for do it today at the L. Grove park has been cancelled it's a group thing so they cancel a course of people in elk Grove I don't know what it is they got some non outdoor people running the community there and they make some strange decisions about this fishing in the city but we don't need to talk about that because there will be none there today or the rest of March and maybe April depending on what happens we will talk to Gerry coe we'll get some a coke any updates and again the kokanee power annual banquet scheduled for tonight they decided to postpone it until July eighteenth so if you know anyone it was planning on going to coke anybody was sold out dot to Sacramento well automotive museum on Front Street completely sold out Ellen if you know anybody was planning on going that try to get a hold of me say it's been postponed till till July and Gary will give us details later on we'll get a report from Collins lake Collins has is been in the full plant mode for a little bit earlier than normal this year so the lake is full of fish and there's a whole lot more to to come because they have like I think twelve pounds at their raise Fishin they haven't even started to release those.

"Good morning everybody this is the outdoor show I'm Bob Sims thank you for tuning in this morning and obviously I've got a little something going on here it's just a little colder low fever no fatigue no shortness of breath but it doesn't stop panicking everybody around me so I wear latex gloves and spread Clorox wipes all over my body and produce data by itself well any word it sounds a lot worse than it is actual feel bad at all he's got to stupid wars so bear with me throughout the program thank you we've got a let's let's go from mom the the third hour we're going to have Scott Hamilton from the of northern California guides and sportsmen's association they're produced a documentary called uns spawned err on the it kind of goes against what the way both the state and the feds have been managing salmon in this state maybe other states as well that being said the feds and everybody are trying to maintain some genetic fish from you know a million years ago Iran a lot of people like me saying it's the dumbest thing in the world because all these fish were swimming together for example in the Sacramento River since nineteen forty six when they built Shasta dam they've been swimming together in full in up the American river since nineteen fifty five and in the feather river since nineteen sixty two and now they're going to try to separate the genetics she had three for from the wild for here's one thing one of the arguments as what do you mean the original hatchery fish came from wild fish with those genetics and because of this type of management and because of the stubbornness and we've all we all know about that in in always government operated while leveraging shoes they get on the someone that just that's the law that's the way it's done they don't look outside the box in the meantime the salmon runs go in the toilet LMAO everybody blames the stripers on one side and everybody blames big ag on the other end everybody blames politics show but what's happening here is in California we are preventing a lot of fish to come up these rivers from spawning because the state and the feds believe we don't want to get too many hatcheries sermon in the pool to just wrap the genetics of the wild fish which have exact exactly the same genetics please see what I mean see you in it smells like government doesn't it really does so anyway the northern California guides and sportsmen's association what you have just written have grown remarkably over the last few years just to show you how people care about this and how just satisfied they are with the specially California's management of just about everything which is well documented so they put this out and and they want to do it the right way they wanna the they did it by talking to scientists they're not talking to somebody that has a particular belief like let's say eat anywhere from a radical fishermen to a radical environmentalist those are not part of the equation they tried to be scientific about this they tried to be objective about this era and they came up with a documentary that nobody's seen this documentary and it will be released today at eight o'clock on YouTube it's gonna be called spawned and and it's going to be it's going to be somewhere else too and once we get Scott on the air at seven thirty he'll be able to tell such an explain what they did so it's very very interesting subject and here's where a grassroots organization came up collected their own money had a professional film done to show the you know maybe the short sightedness of the game manage where fish management in California and other states when it comes to this or at least opens the door for them to take another look at it you would hope they would which is not like California's a department or the commission you know it it's it's too political but maybe this is this will be an exception and if it does and if there is something to it we could have a whole lot less fears about the salmon because the salmon my friends are headed for extinction in California and because of one thing and that's politics so it's a shame it has to be that way maybe this will do maybe put this will put a halt to a it's not too late so what else we're going to do on the show today does talk about various lakes and rivers like we all do but here's one good thing I talked to rob Reimers last I think it was a Monday or Tuesday and he always goes out on a few trips sturgeon fishing by themselves so we can check things out that he was fishing up above Colusa aces fish were jumping all around urgent and he ended up catching wanted to give her six and a half or seven feet long L. now of course that's an oversize you have to release it so I think I know you went out last night now it's not going to be wide open it you know we haven't had any big range to drum up river but still there up river you know they're going to trickle in they just don't go up in the big schools or a lot of met one time when it doesn't rain but the spawning urges their room we're gonna take care of business so we'll we'll find out what rob has to say all stories kept track on the salmon fishing at Orville M. you know that is tapered off it went down to a lower plateau than it's been and that's a shame because these are nice four to five pound king salmon great fighters great heaters the whole works as you go out you know you can catch some nice fish but you know early on you were catching limit five fish limits of those now that doesn't seem to be nearly as cool but in time you can go out and catch a few fish and have one or two in that four five pound range well you know you do it because that's a that's a special treat that really helps show the doctor rob about that this the same river the Sacramento River up by reading normally would be talking about the fabulous trout fishing which in March is usually pretty doggone good up there problem is there so little water the jet boats can't get up and down the river so you know the reservoirs are holding back water for storage because of what looks like a you know short water year Adam these big jet boats away they build on these days you know they're not all completely flat bottom they got who they have a small modified V. Irlam but even laughed at how shall they run in just a few inches sometimes you just can't get those big old boats through ruffles so they don't want to beat their boats up so you're not gonna get many many reports from from those guys however you could if you want a good report a goal to someplace like the fly shop which books drift drift boat trips down the river they can get down there no problem so anyway what Kirk is been during his fishing Shasta lake for both bass and trout the other trout fishing is just not materializing so the way it normally does but occasionally you gonna get a nice big fish they got a nice eight pounds brown brown trolling the other day and a few nice rainbows but the bass versions just wide open a lot of two two and a half pound vision that'll you know as you go in the day the Fisher coming up shallow maybe as little as five to eight feet now it's time to really think about bass fishing because just about all reservoirs are experiencing that move into shallow water and that includes overt Berryessa and Clear Lake we'll get to reports there are also I have on the bass and AM Clearlake by the way just a couple days ago kicked out of bass over fifteen albums M. the crop the fishing has really taken off we'll give you a report there at Berryessa allotted two and a half pounds yours two to two and a half pounds the bigger fish are tough to come by we'll also have kind of a sketchy report on kokanee and trout last week a real nice kokanee was taken of Berryessa first I've heard sixteen inches tall picture of it yesterday another fish the spitting image the first by a different group it really a nice looking clean fish fat sixteen inch kokanee I mean my goodness that's that's some you look for later on in summer but at least a few are already that size of Berryessa we don't know if that's the majority of this year's catch or holdovers June so we'll have to wait and find out they're also catching a few trout but we'll get a report on that we will get a report out of a different report on the crop B. and that big bass at Clear Lake they would check out lake Almanor war ridges GI a lot of people don't don't go to lake L. nor in the winter and for good reason you got it tow your boat either up the feather river canyon or come in through any other way I mean it just about some place you tend to go in the winter months but the elevation isn't that bad still under five thousand feet in the retail the rainbows and the Browns are really but when you hear this report you want to be there and if they're they're fishing mostly five to twelve feet deep trolling RuPaul's no that's not brain surgery anybody can do this and they got fish up to I think eight or nine pounds Browns and rainbows up to about six pounds that is some quality fishing the needle have crowded conditions either so where do you hear this report open borders bar still coconut version still plugging along ten fish limits if you work hard at it you may have to go find a fish dish the the spotted bass up there it's not wide open still reports of fish that are deep that's no fun but some of these guys are good enough to do it we'll get a report there Scotts flat kick another few rainbows angle bright actually a little bit better fishing course they have a pen project there too and they get department official wildlife plants in angle bright rob Reimers will be calling us as he's getting off the river this morning they fished all night mark Wilson once again put over ninety miles on his boat the trying to find stripers this week a couple of different times and what he didn't want tribute hardly found any in the other trippy filed maybe a couple more but it looks like it was just picking up toward the end of the week so I'm anxious to talk to him there don pagan Ellie will tells about a fishing in the city program today they'll be at Howell park of course a burial be with us in a few minutes as always got less of them as I mentioned at the beginning of this Scott Hamilton from the northern California guides and sportsmen's association will join us at seven thirty AM to get us up to speed on maybe how we can get more salmon in California so all that and more coming up in the next two hours and forty five minutes on the KPK outdoor show thanks for being here only since you.

"I'm Bob Sims thanks for tuning in today well I'll tell you I guess the talk of the town right now is the lack of striped bass I mean there are there just doesn't seem to be things happening now maybe something happened yesterday I'm not up on we're gonna find out from a few sources today but it's kind of ironic because with this Friday the our commission meeting is going to meet for the fourth time to supposedly decide the fate of the striped bass now remember they met in June and then they said okay we'll have our final meeting in August and make a decision so all the fishermen showed up you know they all showed up in June and reading then they showed up in in August and then they decided because there were so many people there that will postpone this till December and then December came along M. what a coincidence two of the five commissioners were absent so we'll put this off until February well all of fisherman showed up in December two and what they're doing and you can just count on this they want to pass these restrictive measures for striped bass which goes against all the best science it because all of our state leaders are department leaders on our governor and everybody else wanna cod tile to the water powers in California and that's what they're gonna do one way or the other down the fair that's that's what we're that's what we're looking now this is not an exaggeration this is just the way it is normally they have these commission meetings on Wednesday and Thursday why they would want to have it on Friday you think people have more trouble getting to a commission meeting on Friday could be see how they think they're very deceit folder conniving I mean it's a joke and yet and yet they they have the gall to stand up and claim that we need to do this to save the salmon and there's not a single sliders outside of who a water district will pay big money to agree with whatever a conclusion they give them there's not a a quality science scientists to believe that's going to make any difference it never has so it's all a political scale in right the middle of it is troubling bottom the guy that runs a department official wildlife youth would think would be like the custodial care guy of our of our resources are fish on our while up well he could give a dog gone about down he doesn't care he's looking at his next job he's going to play politics with the board he helps right water policy for the department of water resources and therefore the Westlands water district because they're all cousins so anyway on top of all this there's no stripers which makes it even more of a fallacy so we'll hear from Dan Barker the endeavour more on this but it really yet you ought to pay attention to this because it is it is just the biggest scam you've ever saying at and these people will look you in the are and lock they don't care about line here are you and I grew up worst thing you could ever do is lie these people live of by the live and you'll see a good if you'll see more examples of it by the end of the week anyway so we'll cover that the program will covers steel head up north it hasn't rained up there all week long and usually that's what gets the steel head going however we're gonna get a report I I guess the the best river the bunch the most consistent is the Czecho and the reason that is there's a slide up on the the south fork of the check another was a slide on both the north and south fork but the one on the south fork is is more dramatic you know came from logging and stuff up there and so what that does is even though the river drops it keeps it up just a little off color where is the Smith a few miles to the south is I mean ritual clearances clearer as a river can be and fishing gets tough but the Smith is having such a good run they're catching fish anyway so it's not all bad menu move on down and and and rivers like the van doos and which is a tributary to the email but they get a good run of fish and and that's all bank Fisher has twelve miles a pretty good access along a glorified trout stream where you can catch eight to twelve pounds stealer in idea is it's not private property most of it is not private you just see a place along highway thirty six you just go over there and Fisher so that's a pretty good deal and then the south fork of the eagle up above that is another very friendly bank fishing river there's a Lotta access there of course the drift route as well and then there's the main stem you'll that's a bigger basin and for some reason that doesn't seem to be fishing as well is the south fork but we'll get into all that and then it seems like the highlight of the whole thing is is the mad river the mad river all which is a long drainage runs a little off color but what is clear we're going over after working catch in one or two steel here that's pretty good fish well yesterday was the opener of party and if would say you know most of time when party opens Iraq a stable close for about three months during the winter Ellen when they you know they open for Thursday for camping and then Friday for fishing and usually the opener for party stuff like last year it was arraigned in and pouring thins storming and that's usually the average opener for party well this was a beautiful day yesterday and I guess the the line to get in yesterday morning was about a half a mile long and and the marina manager a Dave Kaiser told me when he got to work it was that long and they they ended up selling over five hundred fishing permits so and it looks like a lot of people caught some fish too so it all in all it was a pretty good over we'll get it a further report on that up on the the excuse me I mean very Elsa you don't remember two weeks ago we talked about all of you know the bass fishing at Berryessa it's been a slow tough winter the fish just didn't seem to go on the bite usually there's a spooning bite or something but just never materialized the Fisher deep thirty feet thirty five feet you got a finesse some with drop shot but you know the whole thing in a couple weeks ago one of our guys just found some fish shallow and some pretty nice forms well that doesn't happen very long when it first happens there will come up for an hour to an well now there's evidence that more and more Fisher coming up shallow and you know I don't mean all day every day over the whole lake but at times you'll find fish in the top ten feet mostly ten to twenty and then down again to thirty feet but it there there is starting to get a little bit more aggressive there and yet the trout fishing well a few people catching some pretty nice trout there can't considered good fission and just cut off right now something's going on there but if if some good fisherman up there and figured out we'll hear about it soon enough then down in the napa river back to stripers they usually they're loaded with stripers right now and it's kind of kind of iffy however the sturgeon fishing which was very poor during the beginning of this week because of the full moon cold water you know I I everything going against your and now all of a sudden each day that's gotten better and better and you just stick it out you got a good chance of up in the cutting wharf area of catching some some sturgeon and sturgeon fishing winner here from berry in just a few minutes of I'm sure he'll have some some info on the sturgeon fishing for us and whatever striper news the rules I have truly been a puzzle no but all all the good fisherman route and like berries got a heck of a network going all over the place and everybody talks the guys at fish twelve months a year and there's no they can't find anything worth really all I mean is put a lot of miles on a boat and get a couple of fish there are twenty inches that's not good Schreiber version so will find all that out we'll have we'll bear on talking about last week in junior on which got muddied up by also the opening of the the additional goose season for white in the end the specs and what that did is if you wanted to go hunt the goose season should all gonna take my kid with many can shoot ducks will that's against the law because the only person that can be with the junior last weekend would be a non hunting adult so it really messed things up in well surprise surprise hi Andy Giuliano of fish Emeryville will be kind of updating us no first of all what's going on in the bay and you know some I'll tell you hello bill for the guys to go out when you get nice weather like this they should make a few hello but out of the bay trolling or drifting dead and show ridge trade bait stuff and we'll find out if that's happening will find out to a when salmon meetings are to determine that in the bay area will to find out when the rocks rock for season opens when we should have live bait in the bay because that's going to be honest in no time at all Clyde will update us on what he knows of course on the stripers goes he's put some miles on out there Clyde deal time rob Reimers was up at Orville last Saturday and caught a nice four pounder before the end of the program we'll find out how he finished up in a CV if he's been back there a sense he'll know what's going on Kerry night will join us in the seven o'clock hour he's from lake port and Terry knows everything that's going on whether we'll talk about how the bass fishing has boomed it just in the last week how the tournament was so tough last week and why it was so tough and everything from the opening of Indian valley to mountain lions everywhere and a bear in a tree in down town lake port and all that other kind of stuff so that and much more coming up in the next two hours and forty five minutes on the K. of PK outdoor show thanks for being here ninety.

"I'm Bob Sims thank you very much for tuning in well if we have to say one things going on in the state this consistent it's still ahead for sure in just about every place XR the American river unfortunately American rivers not having a good year it seems to be the norm lately for the American river I'm not sure why but somewhere in there is something we don't know about Adam I don't know what it is so I'm not gonna say until we have a chance to figure it out but you have to remember the American river used to produce such good steelhead fishing that people came from all over California to fish shipped and even out of state now now it's not so much from Oregon you know where in that area where they have hundreds of steel extremes but from Nevada and Arizona and over they came to the American river to fish for stela so that's a that's a far cry from what it is today why well we don't know however we're gonna have reporters today at one of those reports you'll hear the interview he stated that I have to believe that everybody that owns a drift boat has it in the water somewhere today if and that's what it's like especially on the north coast of it's a fever and if you could you should see the Texas idea of these beautiful fresh run sh delay and if you're one of those that have never caught a fresh runs steelhead you are really missing out there is nothing quite like it so the hero the whole north coast has been kind of fickle this year we didn't get the big major storms but we had enough rain to keep the rivers muddy the main stem eagle has been muddy most of the year of the south fork almost as bad but not quite of their both searchable right now the Smith river's bend the only go to river up there and thank goodness it's had one of the better still it runs its hadn't maybe a dozen years because even as we speak now the water is dropping in clearing things are getting tough and they're still catching fish and not just a few people but a lot of people are catching fish mostly Dr boaters I mean you know when we use a talk about still at fishing I mean I love steelhead fishing from the bank and I've fished all these river from the back I mean that you'll river the south fork you very friendly to bank Fishman a Lotta acts sales of the Smith river you can do it of the Czecho river you can do I mean the mad river especially you can do it and and so there's all kinds of those van doos on which is a tributary to the eagle a girl rate bank fisherman's of but but that's not what we're talking about we're talking about still had fishing as a whole because there's always the bag Fishman are always catching a few fish but because it more people fish for from drift boats are catching more fish from propose buster dribbles have an advantage let's face it when they can fish every inch of that river are you can find on the bag but I still like the bank fishing anyway so I mean your choices now for the first time this year are multiple and in every river they're catching fish and nobody's even fission the Klamath river that is just come in the ship well maybe way way up the Klamath river but those for sure going to be smaller they historically are much smaller you know above by five you get down below that and you get some major tributaries entering the Klamath starting with the Shasta river then on down to the Scott and even some some bigger hole a tributaries like horse creek in at all the way down all the creeks to come in by happy camp and then the Salmon River not to mention the Trinity down below but I mean that's what pulls pulls a big steel head and so the mid Klamath when it's clear this time of year you can really get some good fishing right now nobody's version of her all along the coast so next week we might get a report there anyway that would be real world of a street have that whole rivers yourself for anyway there's another good bank fishing access for so anyway that's what's going on there and people flock up there the brunch got started late two rivers cleared late but once it happens all the guides are booked at Sam's am I mean everybody's cap Fisher's couple people we talked to today they all landed for fish no when you land for fish the odds are great day because they're all averaging you know eight to ten pounds and you're gonna lose a couple of others you just can't run a hundred percent on still are very often so so we will get some reports so you get a feel for that black bass we got a one day derby today's to while Welsh bass grail M. if things are really tough you know they haven't been able to pre fish this tournament since last Monday since last Sunday so they've had five days where they have been able to pre fish yeah all you know in the.

"Is the large mouth bass California has an ace in the hole in fact they have two aces in the hole spotted bass and small mouth bass both these fish spawn much earlier than large myself and both these fish get active much earlier than large mouth and February sometime in February they will become active and lakes like fulsome Comanche bury us so Orville Shasta and several others have both spotted and small mouth bass and they will be making their presence felt very soon they usually start being taken in about twenty five to thirty feet of water then slowly up to about twenty feet of water then near the first of March up in the ten to fifteen feet of water depending on the weather you got the picture that can happen anytime in fact it did last week it Berryessa before we got this cold snap it's going to happen again there soon be on the look out Bob Sims K. of P. "If the K. outdoor show I'm Bob Sims thank you for tuning in this Saturday before Christmas well this is there can be a lot of time off in the next two weeks with Christmas and new year's falling right a middle of the week why not soured some time around it and actually the timing is pretty good the weather is going to be somewhat of an of fat a factor but I don't think it's going to keep people indoors too long we got some coming in shortly I guess but yeah I'm I'm of the page with all these weather forecast very rarely do they ever pan out to the magnitude of the the weather people make him out to be so just wait and see if it was poor like her don't go home what your way never does poor use your pores for a an hour to that and it's it's pretty nice out there so just depends on how well rid your which is of course if you're still struggling for last minute Christmas gifts getting an outdoorsman anything the stay more comfortable in the outdoors is a great idea I mean you can if from the from the type of long underwear they have now with this button fleece and everything else is the thickness accounts and for the insulation and you can layer quite easily with with the less weight of clothes and used to be years ago and stay really warm and then drive they've got of course the gore tex thing of was never a huge fan of gore tex I just Felder was way overpriced but there is a not a lot of other waterproof or breathable materials out there that are flexible and soft and everything to do the same as gore tex drew in a lot cheaper to so you you don't you don't have to be stopped by that but it is just good old common sense in all of light weight warm stuff you don't have to get all booked up and you can stay pretty pretty comfortable in the outdoors dry and warm so just out still had fishermen waterfall hunger so they don't ever complain about the cold they just go fishing on well and what you have available to you over the next two weeks is a lot of the reservoirs now are are starting to come on a little bit of Collins lake which you know basically stop their planning program after thanksgiving of put so many fission at lake they don't have to plan that yeah they caught a twelve pounder this week and some other big fish so end of sure fishermen are doing well so Collins lake is full of fear spotted Bastar you know if your bass fish were you can figure out the spotted bass and columns work and and now you can capture but every link is different with black bass you can move move over to Clear Lake console well the cold waters keeping black bass to a minimum but a Clearlake it's wide open on the jumbo mental bite and I will get a report there and that's going to continue so you what you want something to do for a day or a couple of days you head over to clearly I can get yourself a bunch of jumbled men of you will catch some beautiful bass five means some not nice bass and some nice big words of come in the last couple of days I think I'm eight and online parlor came in just the last two days and this is fun for sure who doesn't love the fish with minnows architecture way back so that's gonna then Comanche Comanche up it really got off to a great start this year and and just just decide to front load their plants and it has really paid off and fact they put a plant in this week of thirty six hundred pounds that's a double plant and they take care of both the north shore the south shore and the trial upon joke Comanche is ready to go there are no I I I talked to Robbie Dunham of coke machine guide service and is a one day this week he says I don't care where you were fishing what you were fishing with how deep you were fishing it didn't matter everybody caught fish and yes those days once in awhile the math where it's just you your wish every day was like that but unfortunately it's not but mostly you've got to dial it in to the Fisher closer to the server so they are deep water you'll see you'll at Comanche you use your depth finder fish finder you will always always see Fisher twenty five feet twelve months a year you'll see Fisher twenty five feet now try to figure out what they are as how many of us have spent hours and hours and hours trolling drifting casting to get those Fisher twenty five feet and can't prove it by me welcome to the fish are catch free for I don't see any for but it just twenty five feet what are your catch from there but anyway don't believe everything you see that the trout in the top ten feet by all of EM McRobbie of you know not many people talking about the crappy and not many people are trying for Crosby but if you try you might be surprised to Comanche and the crop you bite over clearly by the way has really picked up so and then just a couple weeks ago a new crop the record was set down at new Malone as rows of war by a **** from a beautiful big slab side button no pretty for no pretty your fish in a great big crop is they're just beautiful so that's always a possibility other reservoir Shasta the bass by the Shasta but just an amazing lack you can catch a lot of fish or you're not going to catch a lot of big fish there even the best of the bass fishermen don't catch a lot of big Fisher Shasta but you can get some good solid fish there and just about anybody can do it I mean what when you have a tournament where the the money pays to just about twelve or thirteen pounds or something like that you know anybody can win that tournament and the the same thing happened Berryessa bother we will get a report on that it is tough Fisher now somebody said when is wide open is the toughest tournament to win where everybody catches fish but went out at Shasta that's the way it is at Barry Elsa you can catch fish but it's a grind you gotta stay on the bottom you got a crawl a little warm regard drop shot you gotta do whatever you got a phone now some and that's where a guy that really likes that kind of stuff can do well in return but anyway you you got a fair share of of good solid bass in the you know maybe two to three pound range mostly you know some smaller of course some larger if you're lucky but that's what winter fishing knows in fact we're gonna have don pagan Ellie later on you'll be on fulsome today and not that not that fulsome is that great or anything but when you think of how close pulled from mills the such a huge population it's just crazy not to learn how to fish that's got trodden it's got the king salmon then it's gotten of all three bass Senate large while small model spotted is got crop be catfish big catfish so you know there's enough going on there where you can you don't have to go out there just to do one thing so we're gonna be talking to don about what it takes and what to expect you're not gonna go out there and catch thirty fish like you are in the spring you're out there trying to catch a few fish and figure it out feel good about it from an occasional big one so that's what we're gonna talk to don about still had fishing you know last week there was a big storm they came in through just before the weekend when we talk to Kenny priest up there the Smith was still rising and are they expected it to go up to thirteen feet it was up to sixteen feet that's a bit much you can't fish of them the planters go out but nobody else can Fisher Ellen we expected but since it was the middle of December well this will be the first run of steel had their share of just about time well it didn't happen they caught a few fresh salmon nice fresh salmon big salmon but just very very few steal him and not just the way it is Oct it just drives me crazy because in this day and age if they're old if we don't catch among we have caught him before that time of year we think of something wrong and some good beer all so but you just have to wait and see like right now in the American river most years I mean going way way back I mean I grew up in the American remote fears are going to have some winter run fission that lower river but you have to intercept them because they just seem to head right up to the upper river you go up to the hatch readers a whole bunch of great big Steeler along with the salmon up on the hatchery but you don't hear from being caught along river and I just think that's because a lot of people are waiting till the first of January when the upper river opens up but I think it would be worth your while.

"Hi, Bob, SIMS of the outdoor show with the rain this week. We're going to try to keep you updated on what rivers remain clear what rivers are not official. And also an update on the American river, which has been a pleasant surprise for steel hitters Saturday morning between five and eight right here on KFI, traffic and weather together every ten minutes. Newsradio KFB K. Personal identity theft can easily become a professional problem. One in three identity theft victim say the experience difficulties at their place of employment either with their boss or co workers as a result of the crime. Here's what can happen, and what can be done from Kelli grant, consumer reporter at CNBC dot com Kelley set this up. Do you think about identity theft is something that is going to affect your credit and really your personal life that you're going to have a lot of things to unravel but store a lot of folks disbelieved into their professional life. Some initial analysis of data from the identity theft resource center found that about one in three victims who have experienced difficulties at work as a result of identity theft that happened to them in their personal lives. What kind of difficulties at work? Well, one of the most common ones is your unraveling identity theft for a lot of folks, this is not something that can easily be handled and the route required, but they ended up taking time off of work to be able to deal with all of this and some bosses are more accepting of. That than others. And that of course, can have some immediate impact in terms of your relationship with those that boss or co workers, and then down the line, you know, could even be problems with maybe you have to work on some unpaid time off or your boss doesn't give you that razor that promised promotion because they feel like you haven't been as productive as you could have been Ouch. This can also have ramifications. If you're applying for a job, right? Yeah. This is kind of a scary one. And you know, we've we've seen firsthand. Some folks who said that they had some problems with getting a new job because oftentimes when you're going into hired the company is running either some sort of a credit check or a background check on you. And of course, state laws around that Barry, but you know, if they're finding somebody's red flags that you know, that can be something that's tough to unravel and some companies are not as willing to hear your excuses on mounted others. So what can you do? One of the first things you want to think about would be, you know, understanding what your rights are as part of the hiring process, either with credit checks or background reports. They're going to be some state laws that apply. But generally, if that's going to be done in your employer has to obtain your consent prior to undertaking, the check, and they're going to have to tell you if they are planning to take some sort of an action like not hire you on. That would give you some time to explain you've been a victim of identity theft. A, but even as we were talking to experts here their recommendation was if you are hunting for a new job try to be proactive about that. And you know, talk to the recruiter. Let them know, you know, when you're signing that consent, even if you have some understanding of what they're going to find let them know that you've been a victim of identity theft in that can help prepare them for that information. And and get them it can make you look better in the process as well. As Kelli Kelli grant, consumer reporter at CNBC dot com. "Let's get a check in with Bob. Sims antedates outdoor report we've discussed before how weather conditions can be a contributing factor to how aggressive steelhead will bite. Will that very example happened this past Sunday on the American river when the weather changes, especially when a storm starts to move in. And the pressure changes at just does something to the steelhead. We even talked about it last Saturday on the outdoor show with promising hopes what would happen during this. Recent storm. Well, guess what had happened on Sunday morning? Just before the rain started people started catching fish as the rain started and continued they continued catching fish, and this is all manner of techniques, the fly fisherman, swinging flies. They're also using indicators to drift Nipson egg patterns spin fishermen using row or glow bugs or spinners or spoons. Everybody seemed to catch a fish or saw somebody that caught a fish. It was the best single the I've heard about the couple of years on the American river and with more storm systems coming in. Well, you know, what that means be out there be prepared? And you might catch. One of the hardest fighting fish in the whole country right in your own backyard. Bob SIMS KF time now is five fifty seven NewsRadio of PK. "That means that they are given additional time in order to file a tax return if need be and also we have a phone number for the IRS specialists who's trained to handle these disaster related issues. David Tucker is an IRS spokesperson and says you can find that phone number on their website. We're just a few days into the new year and already some of us are probably struggling with our resolutions. But there may be some help it's called Monday resolutions instead of making a year long resolution. Try starting something on a Monday and make it a mini goal. According to a spokesperson with the John Hopkins Bloomberg school of public. Doc health Monday can be thought of as the New Year's of the week. And that means you won't be disappointed. If you miss a pathway the week because you can reset your goals you days later, remember about a third of people who make a New Year's resolution fail to stick with that. All right time right now is five fifty five. Let's check in with Bob SIMS for today's outdoor report every year fishermen await the opening of the upper section of the American river to steelhead fishing now that river close us on October thirty first gives it a risk for the salmon the move in and spun and then the steelhead which followed them, and there can be some nice big winter run steelhead it used to be a wonderful fishery. Now, it's kind of up and down. But this past Tuesday was the opening day and people were pretty happy. If they didn't catch a fish at least they saw somebody else. Catch a fish now from New Year's day through the weekend. It's usually pretty crowded on river. I mean, people take time off they want to catch a steelhead here. Or it is in your own backyard. But with all the people on the upper section of the river, those fish get a little spooky they just won't bite. If you see a section of river with a bunch of fishermen don't fish there. But the good news is this. If you notice an area that you'd like to fish that hasn't been fished for say, twenty minutes or more. You got a decent shot. Those fish loser. Wariness and become a little more willing to take your offering. We'll have a.
