"So here we are at the urine stool in Geneva and we are speaking about the twenty thousand International Meeting of Mine Action National Directors and United Nations advisors so basically basically unmastered say the United Nations Mine Action Service in addition to Sarah Jerry. He's a researcher. From King's College in London has been looking at research approach into on the link between climate change and vulnerable populations affected by unexploded ordinance stuck in the ground and elsewhere. Welcome everybody body. I'm going to just dive in quickly. Going to Richard Baltimore's Program Manager for South Sudan with unmasks wretched. Tell me the main thrust of the meeting being here at the United Nations in Geneva what you can to achieve this week well simply putting the importance of mine action back on the map. Reminding people there's a problem exists exists around the world that is being addressed but it needs constant support to keep his going a mine-free world is achievable. We simply need to keep doing what we're doing. Just talk me through what the process. Who says you go into a community in south Sudan? Can you give me a particular example of an area is cleared recently. How you've held community? We're helping hundreds of communities Aziz every single day we're going into villages where mines were laid possibly thirty or forty years ago wet forests have grown up around them. People wonder into those forests in search of natural resources to cut wood together the forest vegetables and plan selves up working to render the ground safe and the the the reality is the poorest of the poor go into minefields knowing they all taking a risk. Studying Cambodia showed eighty five percent of mine victims victims. New they're in a minefield at the time. They had their accident but they also knew they were going to be hungry at night. So they take the wrist to go and get it and not not. de-mining is not an option. People will still take the risk and go into the minefields. We need clear those minds to make the land safe. Just start with a level playing field being out to grow awesome food. It is astonishing it comes down to having to live from day to day and Edwin fake money. If I can come to you know you were in Cambodia. Do you share richards. Experience experience. There is that what you were finding radio program officer unless now but you were working for a long time with U. N. D. P. The UN Development Program. Yes you actually see that people take risks risks. When they're hungry they will try to the forest to find food if they have piece of land contaminated? They will try to farm it so that they can grow the rice. It's basically subsistence isn't farming for everything there. And if they contact us the land and they will take measures to go in and see if they can actually get food. What's your message to the conference? Is this week. There is a need for us to address this theory's hope for example specifically for Kamalia. Two hundred twenty five is a goal for them. It can be achieved there to clear. All of known remaining landmines by twenty twenty-five how many we talking about. It's there still about nine hundred square kilometers of land mines but it was like a lot. I mean look look and you say twenty. twenty-five it is a lot but the government has actually committed themselves. You know Wait I left Komodo last year. They committed themselves that they will give ten percents counterpart funding to any international funds. Subtle coming for Mine Action and you be assumed that in the sense that last year we got ten percent of those about about two hundred thousand dollars last year from the Komo government which is a first big step for them taking responsibility for the problem that they have so there is progress and hopefully by two thousand twenty five and quickly back to Richard. You said that South Sudan continues to be contaminated by mines laid out decades ago but their goal is twenty twenty. He's seven four title Clearance Twenty Twenty Six if the current peace can hold if we can get access to all areas then. It's reasonable with current levels of funding as long as that maintained that we we will complete clearance by Twenty Twenty Six but ordinance will continue to appear for decades. There is still ordinance turning up across Western Europe that was fought over a hundred two years ago. Being ploughed up in the fields of Belgium reality of any conflict affected country but in the short term you need sustained funding to help South Sudan Dan. As many other countries need to decontaminate. You cannot come quickly to use Aruna Jerry from King's College London research only be looking at the link between climate the change and unexploded ordinance or nine months contamination. Can you tell me a bit about what you felt. I've been looking specifically at the conflict context. I've been looking at mine. Action in how they interrelate from post conflict peacebuilding framework and the climate. He's something that I've come into recently looking at how that is adding the levels. Abelson wonder ability because I was in Angola in September doing some work where they went national saint for Humanitarian De Mining on a research project. Nick and what we saw there was that once fields are cleared that the farmers there are grateful because clear and provide quite a lot of land. And what they're doing is resorting to the cotton slash methods of cultivation now. What that does the environment is? Just at the the time the fires in the Amazon on but in Angola there was second highest fires when the satellite team. It is dance so while we can clear and and the farmers were saying yes but the drought has impacted so yes. The farm has been returned to the farmers. But there are other you know beyond the mine in action and my take into that is can we incorporate as a sector. Can we bringing other lessons for these people when we out there with them saying once we've cleared the farm may be a certain sense of responsibility in the ways. We cultivate and all so integrating being innovative in our practice to dealing with communities to reduce their ability interesting. So what you're calling for really is for broader approach to helping communities once the areas made safe. So I don't know maybe I could turn to you. Seddon Threat Mitigation Officer with the Mine Action Service so he didn't a lot of work into be at the moment. I don't know how house access you have there. Because we've had talks recently here in Geneva for ongoing between opposing parties fighting outside Tripoli to the South how are you UH helping communities get safer and be free of this sort of scourge that must induce mentality among populations yes. There are two real issues to addressed. ICED firstly is that Libya has the world's largest uncontrolled ammunition stop palm. It is estimated that there were between one hundred fifty thousand two hundred thousand tonnes of uncontrolled control munitions across Libya. Also what we've seen recently in the fighting which broke out in southern Tripoli in April of last year is the expenditure ordinance and the threat posed by explosive remnants of war as increased and sadly many of the areas that were previously cleared of you exit have now been reconsolidated as a result. The current fighting some specific concerns that we've got amendment relates to some of the more complex munitions that The Libyan's require assistance to dispose off. And the previous Qaddafi regime for example bolts some quite complex missile systems that use talks ick propellants and these toxic propellants pose a very considerable threat to the environment went and also to the Libyan people which live close proximity to their storage depots so one of the projects that are mass. Lear initiated with support from the German government his to safely dispose of some of these very hazardous liquid propellants in Libya. Thank you Bob for that. Now I'm going to turn to leave because you're the Global Communications Honcho Four. Unless you could tell me how many countries on Mrs Operating in I'm what stays sort of information sharing between those officers who are involved in making community safe and and maybe what are the new ways that we using computers not officially intelligence to help us improve decontamination. Everywhere yeah the United Nations by action service we of nineteen programs in countries and territories around the world the UN as a whole is a little bit over thirty so the UN is. We're mine action. United Nations mine. Action has the Inter Agency Coordination Group for Mine Action which we helped to service and facilitate and that's really is an information exchange so and this meeting that we're at this week in Geneva Leyva where we have the national directors from all over the world from every mine affected country. I'm comes in. That's a big part of it is to share lessons learned best practices and the technology which is very important specifically with with improvised explosive devices. I mean we've been working for years in Afghanistan. We've seen a lot of devices that were used in Afghanistan that show up in other conflict zones specifically today's in Somalia we've seen stuff in Iraq. There's an innovation there. There's obviously on the dark web. People have access to figure out WHO's building. What and how are they building yet? What type of charges etc.? So you have to stay alert and you have to be following that. Obviously that's not something terribly new military out there in the world The United Nations. We don't don't particularly do intelligence service things but we are starting a database now in order to try to bring in academics and the governments that want to share that information in order that we make our people on the ground safer so that people would have some type of place to go to look at the type of devices I see they can do photos of directly and put it up in this database and then people can look at it from other parts of the world and say immediately. I've seen that. Don't touch that wire. I mean if you WanNa get it simple or this is probably how it is or the or the charter is going to be. You know. Two hundred meters. There's away or is that kind of thing and somebody mentioned earlier today when we were speaking about infrared Is that you know the technologies that exist out there. They are extremely deadly. It's a little bit different than a landmine. I'm where you're just using a metal detector and you're going along and something beeps and you're saying okay is that you know a pop top or is that something more dangerous when you deal with. ID's there three hundred sixty degrees so you don't know where they are And I mean there was just an attack recently in Afghanistan for example where somebody stuck a charge on the top of the roof of a car which killed the UN employees it was UNDP and that's an example of something which smit this new database that's going to be soft launch today at this is meeting with look into. So what specs do you need for your car roofs when the UN by vehicles because that's obviously a weakness right when a car sitting in traffic and somebody puts a bomb on the roof of of it and nobody thought about that but there are ways to know if there's devices on a car magnetic sensors that tell you. Something's been added this car and that's the kind of stuff that we need to know. The the United Nations need in order to keep all personnel. And all NGOs safe. It is frightening. You could be totally paranoid radio studio. They want to step foot outside. Because it's you know I've read the English patient I've read the some of the mindset of somebody who's laying mines encounters and things. I think my goodness this is just extraordinarily frightening writing and terrifying. And I'm Bob you're saying earlier the the threat of mines is not going away. Sadly the very effective asymmetric form of Attack Jack and the effectiveness of the ID as technology level is now very much understood by. The extremists are employing days. I mean sadly that knowledge is now the Leah's mentioned the information is disseminated now across the Internet. It is relatively easy now for people with no previous experience or training to acquire The knowledge from the web to make homemade explosives and to build quite sophisticated audience systems from scratch. You know with any external intervention. So so you're suggesting earlier Bob that it's not just a question of getting the minds out of the ground. It's a broader approach. Can you maybe explain what that means. Yes certainly insufficient really just to deal with the the explosive threat itself itself when one considers the threat posed by ideas. You really look at the the. ID system so it requires an effective whole of government approach. And that's very much based on not just the entity that's dealing with the explosive straight itself. But you got to look at the forensic organization that recovers evidence the analysis of that of the good police squirt this required to identify locate arrest and then process the perpetrators through the judicial system and Libya. This is happening. It is happening. Actually the The Mass Libya team has worked quite closely with Libyan authorities. And we've been trying to develop the forensic skills of the Criminal Investigation Department such that the Libyan police. I can do this themselves. Thank you very much. I think we've pretty much come to the end of this discussion very brief Look at what your and Mine Action Service is doing. It's been a delight to have you here but I'd love often any final messages or thoughts that you have before you plunge back into the dark recesses of the UN Pele here in Geneva and share information which is obviously why you're here simply that clearing clearing the wolves. Lamont problem is achievable. It's very very achievable. I started de-mining in nineteen ninety-three when the world talked about it being a thousand year problem problem now it down to single digits of years with realistic assessments. Credible Clarence methods. We're winning this fight. Unfortunately the fighters moved on on the problem is not being replaced by problem. The crux of this issue is ending grievances. If people want to find a way to kill each other's they will do so but in those countries where the wounds have healed such as Cambodia. We can go on and complete the Job Sarah Jerry Richard. Bulte Bob Seddon ugly really would yeah. Many things can keep thinking.
Conference Championship Preview
"What a week at a great set of conference championship game Sunday afternoon late that will feature rematches from the regular season and teams with offenses that can certainly pile up the points the week six showdown between the patriots and chiefs under the lights in Foxborough was at high scoring fair time now for the rematch. Five dollars really no margin of error when you play in this league you wanna play this one of the best for a long time. Hi, tone this place. Gives Michelle Rosica the less. Joan Lon appro for adult who's. Make the rookie creates. Michelle runs through the right side. Second. Down twenty four to nine on third and three Mahomes now flush on the pocket up the field chessman terrain. Chance city. Gradient trouble being chased pig. How the twenty nine Mahomes corner pattern writing wants Taibbi Caltex accounts. Pattern left side very killed. He's got a touchdown. And the chiefs takes the lead. For the patriots is throwing deep. Got tyreek hill wide open toots. Forty two forty time at three zero three to go in the game. Throwing the ball. Kospi. Patriots. Hello. Hello. Hello. It is a mid week. Addition of NFL live. We're glad you're with us winning Josie Anderson coach, John FOX Tedy Bruschi. There are four teams still standing you. Just got a close up look at to we will start with the weekend head and where else would that incredible quarterback quarterback matchup between forty one year old Tom Brady and Twenty-three-year-old Patrick Mahomes. The eighteen year forty five day age gap, the largest between two opposing quarterback, STAN postseason history. The chiefs are looking for their first two per bowl appearance since nineteen sixty nine the NFL's third longest active drought without a Super Bowl NFL or championship appearance. And then there's New England three and five on the road in two thousand eighteen two thousand ten Packers. The only team to win the Super Bowl after posting a losing road record in the regular season. Hello, Mike, Greece for more. We'll turn to our intrepid patriots reporter who joins us from FOX and hate the patriots. Mike is you heard three and five on the road? What do you hear from? Team about having that chip on their shoulder. Well, Wendy things are rolling here at Gillette stadium in the patriots practicing in full pads as we speak, and I want to tell you what wide receiver Philip door set said when this topic was brought up to him. He said there's no elephant in the room where three and five on the road. We know we're going to get criticized for that. And we have to go out and prove everyone wrong. Bill Belichick has down played the patriots road struggles. However, he said the hardest part about playing ERO head stadium is the chiefs. They're tough to play anywhere you plan. But here's one thing. Tom Brady as mentioned about the patriots road struggles this year, he pointed out when those games were played the first two losses against the Jaguars and lions week two and three the team was still coming together. Julian Edmund was suspended at that time the team had just acquired Josh Gordon, and he pointed out the final two road losses at Miami. At Pittsburgh, basically came down to one play Brady's point. If one of those players goes another way the road split isn't as. Dramatic. Well, not only that Mike and you're right. You've been around the patriots long. And it's no they're built to sort of peak in the latter half of the season. That's just the way Bill Belichick likes to set it up. But Tom Brady did tell CBS after that last game that everybody thinks they suck following last weekend's win. They love this underdog role. What are they putting this week? Well, they're underdogs this week. But here's really the story. They feel like they've been underdogs all year. And this really comes from a message from Bill Belichick because the tone here around. The patriots is always set by Bill Belichick, and they feel like they've always been measured against some of the great patriots championship teams of the past. But what they've heard this year, according to Devin mccourty, their captain is at the quarterback forty one is old. He's not playing as well. He doesn't have the skill position players on offense defense is up and down. They can't win on the road and mccourty explaining that you can't help. But have a chip on your shoulder when you hear all that stuff? So they're really rallying around this underdog role not just this week. But they feel like it's been all season for them, Wendy, Mike. Thank you. It works for them. Look some of that has certainly been said, but it nowhere near to the degree that they wanna play it up in Foxborough Tedy Bruschi. That's just what they do. They could be favored by one hundred. Well, that's that's ship on. On there in terms of they talk about the old one three or four teams. My teams that I was on you'd manufacturer disrespect. You have did. Win nineteen twenty twenty one games in a row. You gotta find some type of motivation down some of those players in that locker room have been does. What is it H straight AFC championship games? You've got to tell you. So if you suck at times, I mean just to get motivated football game. Yeah. I guess because the results certainly prove you are anything, but sake, I guess this. Listen. Listen, Joe, Joe, let's talk about the cheese for just a minute after last week's performance. What is the mindset of that chiefs defense because the the narrative going in was they couldn't handle they couldn't handle it. Well, here's the thing. I talked to a starting defensive player last night. And he said look we had when our best defensive performances against the Coles. But that's actually no mental boost going into this patriots game. And he tried to explain it to me. He said first of all the colts were honestly overachiever all year. And quite frankly, he said, even though they went thirty one to thirteen he's at feel like the elements beat them. They were making mistakes where they would have a fumble in the third quarter. Give it right back to us. They were having turnovers and misfield goals. He said what actually think is the fact that we were supposed to beat the colts. He said if you look back at the week before that we beat the raiders easily thirty five to three, but he said we couldn't stop nose bleed against the chargers and against the Seattle Seahawks in the weeks before that giving over four hundred yards of offense. And when they played the patriots in week six they gave up almost five hundred yards of office. So here the actual. That he thinks are good news for this defense peeking into this game. He said we will have Justin Houston for this game. We didn't have the last time he played in weeks because he admits four games with the hamstring injury. He said we will have Eric berry who obviously we didn't have missed the last playoff game. And he said, I thought this was interesting. He said what gives us encouragement is that we were able to make certain switches on deepens going into the colts that I think will be able to also catch the patriots off guard in a quick example here he said at the end of the half against the calls. He said all year we had been playing man to man when it was in the red zone, low ten yards and end, right. But he said on this Pacific play we played zone, and we were able to catch them off guard because Angela do it out of bounds at Allie mode. Didn't catch it or whatever. Then at Terry. Mrs. Thank you for for the first time in his life because they weren't expecting. So he's saying, hopefully, we can do certain things like that that the patriots aren't expecting that feeds off the crowd just have that energy. If you can't take so much weight from last week. And by the way, a lot of that. I think is a fair point. I mean old stood make some costly errors sort of beat themselves and a lot of ways. What can this defense takeaway from week six when they did play the patriots just based on week six also based on last week in terms of what they saw against the Los Angeles chargers. The New England Patriots offense. The run game is coming the power run game. You have to earn the right to rush the passer because they are power running football team behind Sony Michelle and also the extension of that is the short passes. The patriots want to attack the flat. You see it right here. The first running back runs out the flat the failure to clear it out for the second. Second receipt running back, which is James wide. And that's an easy seven yard pickup. What's Brady looked to the right Devlin? Down at the bottom runs out the flat defender, just so they can clear it for a simple screen pass right here. These type of concepts are an extension of the run game. Once again, you see it right here. Trying to clear out the flat defender, and this type of space coach with Cordell Patterson and a linebacker is a win for them. No that's ten to thirteen yards. And then just when you think defend the flat Brady gives you is over there defenders come up and then HOGAN comes up at the middle of the field down to scene. Six defenders in the middle of it. They use these passes. They use the run game to be an officiant type of offense. That's with the chief defense has to know defend the short parts of the field Durham, the throw a deep because with that weather. That's what the boom looking for all game the run game flats short passes over the middle. If you haven't seen it. They are not expecting a lot of snow, but it is going to be frigid. Absolutely freezing temperatures. Joe's happy to say. She will not be there. If you are better. I gotta give you credit teddy. You said it last week. They're gonna run run run the patriots. And that's exactly what they did the question. I would have for you coach. Can they run the ball effectively against the chiefs as they did against the Georgia's? We're honestly it was at will. Well, they'll be successful. They're going to run the ball. Bill Belichick, Josh mcdaniels. They're going into this game in this. Kind of weather are gonna run the ball. They're getting twenty one personnel. Two bags one tight end. And they argue run the power and they are going to run zone against the chargers where people realize they get a lot of credit for being this masterful seventy defense. Well, the reality is they were down three inside linebackers talking to the chargers coaches that was by necessity not by design, and there's no doubt the New England Patriots saw that and took full advantage of it not just in the run game either where they matched him in that Twenty-one personnel. But also play action those young DB's don't have that experience to recognize the difference between running bass, and they were hit on some very big play action passes. So they will try to run the ball. I don't know if they'll be successful as they were against skews me LA chargers. Well, again, twelve be made of New England road record. Although I do think Tom Brady makes it very valid point that some of those losses came so. Early when you really couldn't tell a whole lot and September October. There was any any question of the mental toughness the New England the biggest test of mental toughness for an NFL football team, not only winning on the road, but winning on the road in a championship environment. Because that's the last level. I mean, you can't get any more intensive environment. They'll have the opportunity to answer all of those doubts all those doubters this week. But even if they do they will say it again next week. So don't worry about it. If you like that if you like that philosophy. They will still be the underdogs teddy no matter what manufacturer got manufacturer. All right. You'll hear from Patrick Mahomes coming up we will revisit this match in just a little bit. This game is it's just a game against two really good opponents that obviously have high expectations for themselves this season should Greg. Fitch's to the left to compare tricks. The first tackle. Touch. Early long thoroughly. Supposed to that chimeras can walk into the. The New Orleans Saints. Goal set to the pocketed broke, right? Sought Enzo cook with the touchdown rolls out to right throws at upenn wanted. Walks into the disaster. The first half one Rams they had threaded thirty five point fit toy the left sideline. Now. With a third down such down side goof per. Every time the line. He's got it. We're tied. Please drops back. Throws down. The slot was texting. Mike. Saturday to yards. Celebrate did hit it outweigh the ranch. I lost two thousand eighteen. And there you go the Rams insane. So we the fourth playoff matchup between team to average thirty points per game in the regular season. The first since the two thousand fifteen NFC championship game drew Brees celebrated his fortieth birthday yesterday. He joins Tom Brady Brett Farr as the only forty year old quarterbacks to start a playoff game in the Super Bowl era and the ram set a franchise postseason record with two hundred seventy three rushing yards against the Cowboys with Todd Gurley and C J Anderson going for over one hundred yards in that game. Without we'll say Hello to our Rams reporter Lindsey theory and Lindsey the Rams never really broke from that one game at a time and tally the season. But now just one game away from a trip to the Super Bowl. What's going on there as we speak? Hey, wendy. Well, you always think it's a sunny here in California. I can tell you right now there is a little bit of a sprinkle coming down in LA. And because of that practice plans this week have changed the Rams have erected a large tent over there parking lot. That is where they're going to hold to walk through today to stay off of their soggy field that is covered in tarps, but they wanna keep that field intact. So they can hopefully practice there tomorrow if they cannot if it is raining too hard. They also will practice under that ten but Wendy, no rain around. Here is going to put any damper on the Rams at confidence coming off their first playoff win in seventeen seasons. I spoke with left guard Roger Stafford who is very much acknowledged that they are one win away from a Super Bowl. He sent their confidence is very high coming off that one win because that is just something this organization hasn't been able to accomplish out Sean McVeigh, he usually keeps it to one game at a time. But even he acknowledged that this is what you play for you play to be one win away from the chance. A Super Bowl, Wendy. And really there's no reason they shouldn't be coveted especially without running game. C J Anderson has become almost an overnight sensation in L A after what he did against the Cowboys. What's the difference with with him on the on the roster? When did he really has everywhere you look LA TV Ellie radio. It's all about C J Anderson right now. And really it goes back to his story. Remember he was on the couch in mid December before the Rams needed a backup running back in signed him. And then he came in. He put together two consecutive games rushing for more than one hundred yards and then in his first game with Todd Gurley. They provided that one two punch and a great complement to each other C, J Anderson told me that him in girly really fed off each other through the last month. Even though girly wasn't on the field. Girly did take on a role talking to Anderson about how they could play together. And I don't think anybody around the Rams facility could have predicted that it would have gone as well as it has Wendy. No question about that. Lindsey. I very few. If you did if you do say that suspect if he really saw this coming, but Joe seen as we mentioned before both of these games on Sunday will be rematches from the regular season. What's different in this particular game? This time around will I talk to. Brandin cooks last night. And he was mentioning the fact that listen, obviously, having a big run potent game a running game was very big against Dallas. And obviously it will be even bigger against the saints. When you're talking about the fact that when you played the saints last time in week nine you only rushed the ball nineteen times for ninety two yards in this time in this past game. You're coming off of a combination of two hundred and seventy three now keep in mind that when they played the saints run defense lesson. They were ranked number one against the run. They have only allowed four one hundred rushing yard games all season. The most thing was one hundred twelve week one to Tampa. And now you're coming back. This time having a double dose of what you can do. So what Brandin cooks told me that that is going to take pressure off of a lot of things that they weren't able to do this time around in that game week nine they started slow. I think in the first half they got down thirty five seventeen. So they went to have a faster start. They're hoping that a more potent rush attack will help that. And also. Were terrible on third downs. They were three of eight. So they're hoping that they'll have more versatility. Just by the simple fact that the defense not only has to watch out for Todd Gurley. But they also have to watch out for C, J Anderson. So just even having that extra augmented rushing games at hopefully open up so much more for them. This time around them what they saw week nine the score at holidays the game. It's easy for Sean McVay as a play caller to see that. Like, okay now, we gotta throw the ball. But your best weapon still is Todd Gurley. CJ Anders who can get ten twelve yards at a clip. So you've got to stay committed to it. I think that's something that shod McVay all half to have to learn as a play caller that even though things the bleak at times Joe, I still gotta be committed to that run coach like that's a philosophy. You know, you got to be admitted to that run. Even in times where you I mean, it's the first half, and we're down a few scores. But still not getting caught up in the drew Brees game. I see drew breeze out there. He's showing all of the players Michael fifteen twenty we can do that. To. So let's try it because Jared Goff success is all based off of play action tending. You're absolutely right. Because I was at that game weeknight, and you could tell that, Sean McVeigh and that Sean Payton we're going to protect because one was being aggressive the other one, and I don't remember exactly what called. But there was one instance in the game Sean McVeigh wanted to take a risk in a win against him. And then Sean Payton was able to parlay on the ensuing drive. So he you're right. Absolutely. Can't get caught up in that competition with the coach on the other side with drew Brees flinging around especially when you're basically almost doing what is was successful for the ravens in terms of playing that ball control getting the run having the time of possession and making sure that the other quarterback doesn't get on the field. It's the same thing. Listen, this is what got them there this this this run first philosophy got them to this point. What about Sheldon rankings and his injury teddy? What kind of impact is that have let me just say this as a linebacker. You get familiar with the, but that's in front of you. But meaning so plan run defense. I know what you mean. Right here. And I know where he's going to be. I know if it's outside zone. I know he's going to hold basically, I'll you the, but that Butt's gonna hold right there. And I could go over the top. It's the visual that you have as a linebacker that player that number. I can go fast. Now, I know when he'll take a chance, and I gotta stay backside that type of familiarity as a linebacker. You don't have right now. So demaro Davis. He's one of the better run stuffing linebackers in the league. He'll still be ready to go. But that rankings Wendy. He's a huge loss. That's a that's a good football player. Right. They're stopping the run. He's going to be missed. What about a keep to leave? What kind of what do you expect their, you know, a big reason why that game got out of hand early thirty five to fourteen thirty five seventeen you know, that gap was because of the big plays a lot of it was you know, in the passing game that the created that. So I think isn't a keep. Back knowing to keep having coached him in Denver, not only is a player. But as a leader, I think he's gonna help that secondary. This is going to be critical because they will take their shots. Let's not lose sight reason. Both these teams where they are because they can run the ball in the battle of the Shawn's all season is been about that run game. Both teams are very capable. But those big plays will be the difference in the score high believe in keep to reap really help especially with the matchup. Michael Thomas key is a longer bigger player. And I think they're going to need that. However they distribute their secondary against these receiver. You gotta understand Marcus Peters is gonna wanna piece though, I understand. Back song. The gumbo. He got him embarrassed. He doesn't want his chances. A lot. Not now. I can't believe it that Gerald is presenting the quarterly budget report with finger puppets. Look here comes one point seven percent decrease in fixed overhead. Hello, everybody. No. I can't believe how easy it was to save hundreds of dollars on car insurance. Geico. You. Are you projected increase in organic three revenue? Believe it. Geico could save you fifteen percent or more on car insurance. Tony Brown dispute during morning walk numerous times haven't heard back from him. This is Mike Tomlin hasn't shopped Tony to speculate on trays and things of that nature. This no that is going to be addressed needs to be addressed for obvious reasons. Well, the end of the season did not fare well with Antonio Brown and the Steelers prompting owner art, Rooney the second say it was hard for him to see a way that Brown could return next season, new bucks. Head coach Bruce Arians was with the Steelers when they drafted Brown. Here are his thoughts. So what is your sister of what's going on there with your experience with Antonio? And the Steelers from afar from afar. I'm just too much miscommunication too, much diva. You know, just don't heard so many stories and I like Antonio he plays hard as anybody on Sunday. And he practice hard but just got better better decisions off the field downtime. Do some of those little things. That was in the Adam Schefter podcast. And again, Bruce Arians was with the Steelers when they drafted Antonio Brown. He coached him. So he has some familiarity there then not that he does now because start with you simply say, this sounds good sounds bad. Well, it sounds bad. I think I had Tony Brown, you know, in a Pro Bowl. And so I have spent time with no doubt about his talent. And what he's accomplished what he's capable of. I think but at some point in an organization you had said enough enough, and there's always been a maintenance meter when a guys, you know, production is up above that maintenance than ill life can go on. But once it gets level or below think it's time for a change in. It sounds like that change is about to come to fruition in now that things are starting to calm down a little bit. And you're seeing how Antonio Brown probably is not going to be there and Levy on bills not going to be there. And you know, if I'm a player in in the Steelers locker room, you know, initially could all this drama is going to be gone. But now you start to think bit, and you think like, okay, hambur snow a B's not going to be their lives. Not going to be there. What are we going to do? Because James Connor had outstanding season that was that was great. But when Connor went down. Then that's when you see the drop off so juju Smith, Schuster, right? He ended up having even a more productive year than an Tonio ground in some numbers. So what happens when do goes down? So now, you're you're looking at the depth now of your football team. If you're a football player on the Pittsburgh Steelers. It's almost like we got us. If these two aren't coming back. You know, one is it. So maybe they, you know, both of them aren't we gotta start getting some players in here. They're going to have to pick up a lot of this production because the depth now of that football team is not as good. It's interesting jersey. And because we started this discussion after the Steelers spice saying, well, they'll have to work it out. Right. Antonio Brown has to be back this that and the thing about the cap hit. I think art Rooney's comments changed that when he said, no, we're not going to let him walk. We'll trade it. We'll try to figure something out. But it does not sound like he'll be back. Couple of things one. It sounds bad to me as far as areas comments would not for what you said for me. It sounds bad because I don't wanna hear boost areas. Making those comments about Antonio Brown. He is not on anybody's team, you might still need a wide receiver. We don't even know what's happening with Sean Jackson with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I mean, it's a great gift for Adam Schefter, its greats here. I like, Bruce like coast would've Cango I like his staff I like all that. But I don't know that I wanna hear that from moose areas about AB. No matter how true, it may be the other thing is that, you know, even though this situation seems dire hate to think of any situation as irreparable went both sides to have opportunity to show humility, get all the media noise out of your out of your head and everything and still make it work because at the end of the day. Good players don't grow on trees. And the good example of this. Also to me is in Miami. Where you just think, oh, you can just get anybody. Right. And Don Mcgann Soula J Jarvis Landry. Let now you. Head coach is gone. And then all of a sudden you look around you dislike in Philadelphia, you need you need players to make it work. So don't get too high on your britches. Like you've never made a mistake every year life. I'm talking about coaches staff people players, you know, there's no question that what an Tonio Brown leaving the game leaving your teammates behind that is not a good look. But I hate to talk about it so much like everybody else's above that. And no one has made a mistake. And it can't be repaired if humility comes to that. And the reason why I'm saying that is because at the end of the day. This is a player who has the most receiving yards in reception since he came into the league in that does not grow on trees, and maybe he can humble himself to make it work. Still head coaches should only comment on earn players on their own team. No, no, no. He. No, no. That's okay. Question. Because let me let me respond to that. Let me make myself clear Bruce Arians grown, man. Just like all the you grow men, and we have grown him. He can say whatever he wants. And I have no problem with the fact that he's exercising that I'm just saying with my particular opinion. I don't prefer to hear that just because you never know what you know, how things might shake out. You may need Antonio Brown. You don't know what's happening with why receivers on your team. And this you're trying to do on your team. And you never know how things shake out is someone apologize, whatever. So I'm just saying it was better left mixed real quick because art Rooney has apparently just met with members of the media in Pittsburgh. Ed bouchette who's covered this team for quite some time. It's just tweeted this this is from art Rooney who also made those comments about he didn't see a way back. No trade jet for Brown. And while he's keeping doors open as far as returning to Steelers. There's not that many signs out there. That's going to happen. I will say this. He's doubling down on the factor. Seeing that this. Likely won't work out keeping door. While he's I'm just saying it's not it's not final onto. What is why is it? Why is it? Those are good news. But he hasn't shown a willingness to do that. Not even at the Super Bowl. Yeah. There's a whole bunch of time. The good news is time and it is off season. You never know. I hope they can repent. All one hundred dollars to. I'm not saying that he hasn't done things. But I'm just saying it's not done yet. It is never done until it's done. We do know that. But again that was from art Rooney just a few minutes. Wow. The doors are. Jason Garrett probably heard him. You haven't head coaching jealous, and he has been so since relieving wait Phillips in two thousand ten he's earned five six six wind percentage. Three ten win seasons. The problem though, he's never Vance past the divisional round during his tenure. Here's Jerry Jones. When I look at what our coaching staff and had survived. I give it a good grade. When I look around at what other teams are doing and trying to do to find their head coach Jason Garrett had been out on the market two weeks ago. He would have had five offers for head coaching. All right. We're we're gonna ask the same question. Sounds good sounds about. I do want to add one thing though. I don't know about five, but I will say this coaching cycle has been somewhat bazaar. And I could certainly see Jerry Jones point as he looks around the league. And some of the suspect decisions that have been made to think he's got himself. Pretty good coach. That's that's all I'm gonna say so teddy I'll start with. You sounds good sounds about. I don't know about five offers either. But I think he would've I mean, I think it sounds good. I just remember watching that game. And I mean that defense can't stop anything. I mean need you can't sit the edge running game. Whoever's play the edge. They're getting thrown on the ground girly. And in. CJ? They're just running like your defense isn't even playing out there. I don't know if that's that's defense of coaching defense and playing so I mean Jason Garrett getting that playoff win and get into their. There's only a certain point where you can blame a coach in my opinion. You get to the game. I'm sure you have those goals of setting the edge building a wall stopping the run. And then you go ahead and have to running back to go for over one hundred. So I mean players had to step up on that defense, and it just didn't get done for them. Yeah. You know, coach in the world. Here's an idea. Let's run all over. I see where that leads us. I mean that wasn't the game plan. Clearly, no, I think, you know. An answer. The Jerry Jones said, I think sounds good too. I think Jason would have definitely been in the market. You look at some of the head coaching groups, Wendy, you know, there's no doubt he would have options. Let's not forget this football team is a young football team in transition. I don't think anybody had them picked to be winning being in the NFC championship game at this point before the season started. I think starting three and five and what they were accomplished with the Amari Cooper trade. Now, I think they can resemble the big three. I'm not saying there there yet. But this team is injury -sition. In fact, they made the playoffs and beat beat a good Seattle Seahawk keen to advance, you know, I don't think I'd say they they over produced this year, in my opinion. And I don't think anybody saw them being in the NFC championship game. I mean, I'm looking for situational failures where a head coach makes the decision that. Now man that that was the wrong thing to do or or because I mean, I see I see Jason Garrett is he is he the best coach in the league. No is Dak I mean the best quarterback left and was he left in the playoffs. No, those two. I mean, you gotta make plays players is what I'm trying to say. And it just didn't happen. So I saw nothing in this playoff cycle. That showed me that Jason Garrett deserves to get fired. I agree with you Jared show now. Okay. So we're trying to assess what sounds good sounds bad. The fact that Jerry Jones said that he started their sin Garrett would have had like about five offers, correct? And so I'm going to put this back to the gentlemen on the on the on the set. So if he were to have received a job where would he have where would you know, who would have been interest out of the eight vacancies that were there? I'm trying to figure out of the eight vacancies and this and this is no disrespect to Jason. I think he's a great, man. He's always been kind of means. But I'm, but when you look at the way that the coaches were hired across the league, they were looking for young new innovative and then Denver hiring a defensive coach. In Vic Fangio and with Miami, presumably hiring Brian floor is I'm trying to figure out where would Jason Garrett have gone. So I don't actually see that. I see the to the to turn around for the Cowboys happening because of this because of the trade of Amari Cooper, which happened to open up the offense and because of the play of that defense, which even Rodman Nellie set himself is in large part because of Chris Rashard? So I'm trying to figure out where based on Jason GARRETT'S track record of eight eight eight eight eight eight that you all see all of this abundance of demand that would have been for Jason Garrett in terms of being especially with where the trends were going this season, they division division out. They were in their playoff wins out there. You don't think he would have been interviewed. There's only twelve thirty to get there. I don't think I don't see where I mean when you look at cliff Kingsbury when you look at Matt floor when you look at. Who else was exact Taylor? That's getting ready to behind by the Bengals case when they're looking for people who can coach quarterbacks that specifically who that's what they're looking for. I don't see anything that points to enjoy GARRETT'S background where it says boom spotlight quarterback whisperer and above eight. Nate nate. He was one of the twelve in the playoffs. Those other eight you mentioned don't get me wrong. They weren't anywhere near the place. And I put that more on the defensive performance that they had even Rodman. This is this is Rodman's Nellie saying himself. He said whatever I have to do to help this organization, Kip. Keep Chris his shirts. Chris Russo that that is what's happening. And remember where they were before the transaction was made for a Mark Hooper and their people even in Dallas than cells talking about questioning, the keeping the offensive coordinator in Scotland hand, and Jason get who again has nine lives with way wave is coaching thing goes the way this coaching thing goes, you get fi look what happened to Adam case he goes from the dolphins to the jets Garrett would have been interviewed, Jerry. It is a possibility Jones exaggerated with five five Jerry, Jerry Jones. Okay. But Garrett would have been interviewed. He would have been considered to be a head coach somewhere. Judging sentiment of this the five or would he have whatever I to me. It was sounds good. Sounds bad. Jerry Jones endorsing his coach coaching it rose point. That sounds sound. That sounds good. To me. We criticize what happened in. Arizona was Steve Wilks and the one in done whatever, and we say, continuity, and consistency wins in all. Before the Cooper trade. This was I heard at all Jason Garrett Cooper trade happened, right? In right after that they were different football team. No doubt. No doubt its players in that place. You know, whose opinion matters one Jerry Jones Dorset his coach. So we move on because Jerry bean, Jerry. It is what I I don't know if you've got five or ten or no offers, but he's the coach of the Dallas Cowboys that the homes in his first career postseason run. We should mention the patriots museum their way with these type things under Bella check. The patriots of perfect ten ino- against quarterbacks in their first post-season. They win by an average of nearly fifteen points per game. The last quarterback to win a Super Bowl in the same season. He made its first NFL postseason start teddy with whom. Tom Brady you were there. I know you were here quarterback Pat in the homes of what it's like to play in the AFC championship game. Sports teams left. You're planning to patriots who are in the AFC game every single year mine tire life pretty much. And so it's it's definitely a huge game. We're excited for the opportunity. And we're we're glad we're getting the play. I mean the best into compete against the best at this time of the year. And when you play teams of this caliber you played teams with this much history of knowing how to win and capitalize on people's mistakes. I mean, you can't come back and win games. Like that. We have to come out with our best best effort from beginning of the game. All through the end is gonna be a dogfight for the entire game. If you want to come out with a win. I think the weather doesn't make any difference in how these fans are gonna come out this weekend. Honestly, I mean, I know this stadium's going to be Rockin. And I know these fans are going to enjoy this much as we are trying to go out there. And when they see and bring that Lamar hunt trophy back. I mean, the kids got ice in his veins, Adam Tyson. It's a good thing because it's going to be plenty ice. Once again as we get set for a second straight weekend at air ahead of frigid temps. How're the chiefs? Getting ready to handle that. Yeah. They're doing the best that they can possibly do. Right now. Wendy, given the conditions there earlier in the week. They had crews on loading snow from the practice field. Coming out by the truck full off the practice field with with all the snow that had fallen over the weekend today. I noticed earlier they had heaters under the protective tarp to try to soften the field to get them. Ready to practice outside today. Now, repent Mahomes, he said he doesn't plan to wear gloves during the game. He said he's used to playing and practicing in cold temperatures because of his time at Texas Tech when they didn't have a indoor practice facility when he was a tech. So they always were outside and he said, he's ready to go. But I don't think they've had in Lubbock, Texas. Quite the extreme temperatures like they're gonna have on Sunday in Kansas City. Now, I'm no meteorologist, but it would seem that to the gate a little different there. Damian Williams has been tremendous exactly what this team made it to step in and settle into a role a house he handled the extra reps. Yeah. It's been quite a ride for Damian Williams here. He was a third string running back as recently as two months ago. He got the ball just one time against the patriots when they played back in October. And it's interesting because when he became the starter, I went to some chiefs officials and said, hey, you little nervous about him having a play. And they said, no, we think he can handle this that this is not going to be too big for him. And so far they've been right Williams was a backup for four years with Miami before he came here. So he's been waiting his turn. He said he plays with passion. And emotion that's been penned up for all these years. He's been a backup. I also ask Andy Reid about Williams. And he told me that Williams puts his own personality on it. He on the position he likes given his opponents and even teammates and practice the business as read said and he likes getting it back as well that gets him into the game. So chiefs have been asking a lot from Damian Williams in recent weeks, and he's been delivering good for him. Get for the chiefs. It has served them. Well, adam. Thank you. Listen, you're gonna hear a lot about temperature. And all that any no Sunday. Everybody likes to pull out at the tres. They'll be down there on the field. I mean, we all do it say, oh, it's okay. Well, it is cold and we have our own. But we're gonna talk about some hot matchup, shall we? Teddy. Okay. So let's start where shall we start? We will start tyreek hill. We'll tyreek hill against the TV's. Yeah. So I guess right there portent door yet full will this impactful. I'm going to go all the way up here. Because if there's anything the defensive backs of the New England Patriots have to realize is you gotta take with a home run home run the long ball. What Patrick Mahomes is looking for. And this is a guy that's going to give it to them even catch and run when this guy catches it. You gotta tackle his speed is something like his on field. Speed is rare and even his zero to five yards zero to seven yard speed is unique that he gets up the full speed just like that. So quick. Weekly bet. This is the matchup with tackling or not letting them behind you that they really have to focus on different type of player but often equally as impactful in this offense at least in terms of Mahomes. Connecting with Travis Kelsey how hot is this matchup against linebackers coach all together different than tyrod kill teddy just talks about but I'm gonna say kind of the same result in the same game. Got all the way up this guy pattern Mahomes loves Travis Kelsey as target. I think the patriots gonna know that I think it's going to be very critical that they end up putting more than one guy on him. I can promise you that. Bill Belichick is not going to let this guy run down the field on scape. He's gonna hit him with the line of scrimmage with Outside Linebackers. They're gonna put a variety of different people in very seldom just leave one guy on. And so, you know, getting these two guys what thing Bill does he take away? What people do best anticipates in more than one guy on Travis Celts airs doubt Bilbao do. And he's been in his MO for. I don't know what eighteen years I teddy. Let's talk about let's flip gears here. What James white? I would argue doesn't get the credit. Maybe that he deserves on this patriot. Okay. He's important. Okay. You also have Sony Michelle in the run game. You also have a lot of players that'll be important, but I'll put them right about their little more than half. Because the extension of the running game is James white. Like, I showed earlier the pass. Is to the flat the screen game over the middle. Then they just when he's in the backfield. They think okay, let's worry about the past. And they'll give it to them in the run game. This is a player that's very valuable to the New England Patriots the linebackers. I think I have to stop Sony Michelle and that run game. But James white shovel passes passes to the flat how they attacked those other areas. It's an extension of run game. It's very important speaking flat and five yards here in four yards air before you know, it he has made your after noon long and hard Julian Ataman. I think you know, I'm going to kinda like teddy Ginn possessing the ball, you know, third downs going to be a critical situation in this game. Julian Edmonds elements their God, I third down last week those he went I'm gonna go about three quarters of the way up there and really his. Reason his real important is going to be on third down. First and second down to say is not important, but the kids City Chiefs, Bob Seddon, better be aware of where joined element is especially on third down being able to move those chains and possess the ball and keep that Patrick Mahomes offense off the field. So again, pretty hot, but not not super hot officially topic. But I just can't play. I can't do our little exercise here with about hatrick homes for crying out loud. I mean, you still look this is a rematch, and I get the patriots figured it out to a degree in Foxborough teddy. But I mean, he is just I mean, he hasn't stopped since I know in patch Mahomes, you have to have a specific plan. You've seen teams like the cardinals late in the season and the New England Patriots. When they see them sacrifice pass rush sacrifice Pash, west pass route disruption mouthful. Taking your taking rushers away to hit a Kelsey or the cheetah before they rush on a Patrick Mahomes because I think what you want to do is keep him in the pocket because what they feed off an Arrowhead is him. Scrambling out. No look passes the bombs down the field for fifty sixty yards vast. What you want to prevent you. Don't wanna give him a lot of time. I thought in the first matchup. They did an outstanding job of spying them cutting loose three guys on the pass rush. And then using a linebacker guy fast enough to catch him to just mere in spy him to make sure he doesn't buy too much time Vanoy got some pressures in the first matchup high talent tower pressures in the mash up there was a four man. Look where trae flowers was here, and he got up just a hit Travis Kelsey before he went on his rush. So they are aware of the homes athletic ability at this point three. They he's put us all on notice. You know, listen, Tom Brady's been there done that wouldn't take anything away from him. Either. Postseason. NFL countdown gets ready for championships Sunday noon eastern with extensive previews of both games injury. Updates and predictions. And then after the second game, it's boomer. He's back with prime. Especial addition with TJ Keyshawn both of these available on the ESPN app. The Carolina Panthers are keeping all options open when it comes to the sore right shoulder quarterback Cam Newton. And that includes the possibility of shutting him down for next season. New owner David Tepper was asked how he would compare Newton situation to that of Andrew luck and hear what his response. Of course, I'm concerned about it. I think you know, we and him are going to do everything we can to try to make that shoulder better. So I'm not going to be panicking about crimes Cam shoulder this year. I don't think we're going to panic about camp shoulder this year. Hopefully, it's good. Hopefully, he's great. I'm very hopeful. The Cam children will be better as we start next year. Cam Newton shoulder affected is ability to stretch the field as the season progressed from weeks ten to fifteen he completed only thirty eight percent of his passes. At least fifteen yards down the field with five picks that was tied with Jared Goff from most during that span and his QBR such passes in that six games fan. Also, the second worst in the NFL, and honestly you need to look no further than that game where they needed to throw that bomb down the field and they brought in the backup quarterback. And everybody said, oh, dear. He can't make that throw. He cannot do this right now. And it was it was of concern coach, you know, on a scale of one to ten how concerned are you about Cam Newton shoulder going forward? Well, you player gets hurt. Your concern? Remorse than not saying that they are very concerned about his shoulder. But it was something they played him. They continue to play them something that couldn't re-injure self. I know rhyme the million their trainer he's well respected as any trainer in the National Football League. There orthopedics, I spent nine years with or as good as there is in the country. So they're not gonna do anything to jeopardize that. And I think it end of the day it just needs rest. And I think that's what mister temper say. And I think that's what the Carolina Panthers are saying in time. He'll be fine. I thought we got a little bit inflammatory there. Teddy. Oh, David Jefferson ever gonna shut him down. That is not what he said. I think he simply said we'll wait and see we're hopeful that this gets better. But we have seen a situation where a quarterback lost season and came back better arguably. But there was a lot more than that with Andrew luck those situations here he tried to come back. And then that it's correctly. Whether it was Andrew luck thinking or telling the trainers good, I wanna do this. And then pushing it too hard. And then all of a sudden there's the major setback. I think that that's that's what Mr. ten percent. We don't want the set that we saw we saw how not to do it with Andrew luck. And in the Indianapolis Colts who I'm sure their doctors and trainers everything they could to keep that on the right path. I don't wanna say they're a bad staff or anything like that. It's just that. When little mistakes are made and player tries to push himself too hard too early and comeback too early. You have a lost season. That's what they want to avoid. I was referring to really win in the season when they shut Cam down not to what the twopercent you know in this off season. You know, I think just rest is what you know, Cam needs. And I'm sure they'll evaluate. I'm just hoping that this is not a tease, Michael Jordan phrase. The ceiling is the roof lower the roof nothing to see here. Everything's gonna be okay. And then we get closer to the season. Oh my gosh. Now, my shoulders falling because here's the thing, you know, with the keyword operative word that I heard David Tepper say is I hope so what I want the Panthers. Not to be concerned about is. How it optically looks? To everybody else on the outside talk about what is the real in? What is the case? Because if he needs surgery right now it needs to be taken care of right now. So we're not doing it in April may, and then we're talking about oh the ball can get down to field in the back of quarterback is coming in the most important game that I think what you learn from the Andrew luck situation is be real about it don't mitigate don't try to sway. Don't try to make it less than what it is and deal with what it is. And then don't push it beyond. It's not active rest, it's actual rest. Rest. Rest resumes is in look of in came back. Pretty good. Do you? Okay. It's a it's a copycat league though to your point teddy good and bad. Right. And they what they don't want to do. And and to protect a player from himself. I would argue that was the case with Andrew luck could be here with Cam Newton. They want to compete their competitors. They wanna get back. Sometimes you have slowing down training staff know, each other in the NFL absolutely communication possibly with the Colt training staff. Would it Andrew go through do? They give information like that. In terms of what should we just just just look out for things like that? I'm sure that that type of information is valuable to what is absolutely undetectable is that that team is different team without Cam Newton. He is the heart and soul of that. Carolina panthers. Franchise they need him back, and they need him healthy. However that transpires. On my show down the dome is a mausoleum proponents dream. It's noise. Breeze in and out like price fighter loud, like a jetted. Hitting going to beat them saints. The saints carry the confidence of the city. People. The city is broken a lot of out of town. And the saints are waiting on fifty three tourists to arrive. Celebrate thompson. I like it. We'll say Hello now to saints reporter, Mike triplet, Mike, the saints are six and and home playoff games under Payton and breeze. And we know it can be such a tough place to play. What is that dome? Field advantage really mean to this team. It's a couple of things that are obviously really important one is the volume I think people always say it's right up there with Seattle among the loudest places. Just last week. We saw Philadelphia burned couple early timeouts. Get called for a false start. That always helps hurts a sophisticated offense. Trying to run check with me at the line of scrimmage, and then it's a controlled environment for New Orleans offense. They're passing game in their speed that they have on the field. Having chimera is obviously their specialty and has been for a long time. But the saints new look they're six in ho at home in playoff games in the Peyton breeze air they've had some crushing losses on the road in the division round of the playoffs. This has been the goal since the preseason. Let's be that seat. Let's make people come through the Superdome to get to the. Makes it so much more difficult for those opposing teams in the saints and not allow us sack when they were at their peak against the Rams that was week nine, but that Saint line now, I think even healthier what does that mean for this matchup? Well, not healthier. They were. I mean like you said at their peak in that game. They really started to deal with injuries in December quite a bit. And that's why their offense tailed off. So now they're getting back. I think the two weeks of rest that they got as the number one seed really helped left tackle Theron Armstead came back from a torn pectoral last week. And he said it was grueling grind. But he did make it through the game Andrews Pete they're left guard is playing despite breaking his hand in week seventeen but they are all on the field. And that is probably the key matchup in this came against Aaron down company. The saints. Drew Brees is only sex seventeen times this here Donald alone had twenty five twenty point five secs this year. Think about that. I mean, that's just incredible. He had more than all season long for drew Brees. Having said that though. And thank you might Aaron Donald didn't have a sack in this first meeting and the question, I think would be can they repeat that this saints line? Again, this time around it's not just the same so line is they did a great job. Yes. You gotta you gotta count for Aaron Donald. But it's it's the scheme. It's the play calling of Sean Payton when you hit them with a direct run. You hit him with an outside run. You hit him with the three step drop, and then I'll little play action screen, and then all of a sudden you get the defensive line thinking. Okay. What what are they gonna do? Now. They're just not letting me rush the passer, then all of a sudden, it's a five step job. And it's like, oh me the pastor there. So it's just how complex that offense. Is that really keeps that keeps that pass rush off balance? And that's a big reason why Aaron Donald didn't get to drew Brees last. Drew Brees can throw it to the hot dog guy. You know? I mean, he doesn't discriminate if you're out there in your open. He'll get you the football. What's the remedy here? For the Rams are trying to slow him down a little bit. Wade Phillips time around I think you saw when they jumped out to that thirty five fourteen lead. They started being more aggressive on defensive play a little bit more covering the inside three. What I call a bear front. They stuttered a little bit more with man coverage. And I think you know, that got them off the field of your time. So let the Rams offense get back on the field and and come back in that ballgame. So I think they look at this time around I think you'll be a little bit more eight Namm front a little bit more pressure in a little bit more man to man coverage. Especially now that they have keep Toledo. You know? We're doing here we're not talking elements here. Talking. Four and all living room for both. So for the Rams defense. Really your Rams offense engine better score. You better score regularly. Also because defensively it's you're not going to shut shut them down. It's about two three three and outs. And that's almost like a turnover to get your offense the ball back. If you get to turnovers that's a win with that's a handful of maybe five to ten place five to ten plays that you have to come up and make a splash play a sack strips X something like that because points will be scored in this one because I think it's a lot different than they have see championship. You can help them clean seventy two degrees. There is crowd noise. Yes. But they're going to be going up and down six. I don't know because I'm not going to be there. But here. I'm looking I think that they won't be boosted. By the fact, that they were able to keep the Cowboys rushing attacks their lowest output coming off of that all year, we've been talking about how when Dominic into came to this team how they were supposed to be this great front, and then a lot of teams to run on them. So for consumers, and hopefully we'll be talking to him at the at the end of the week. But for him to really show his presence in this game in the divisional round when you had third and gotta have it fourth and gotta have it. And he was up there showing up in the gap. I think that's an extra element that they have that. They didn't have in week now when they lost forty four forty five thirty five that they will also have this. So it's not just about getting the pressure on on drew Brees. It's also about stopping that you know, that run with Alvin Kamara and those guys up the middle Troms us run on both sides defense has got a huge challenge. That's going to be a big difference. But let's not forget about situations. Readier you'll last game saints for five for five RAMSAR three or five not the best poor. But that was fourteen points big difference. Same thing on third down. You've heard them referred to out in LA. About how poor they were on third down that possesses the ball, whereas New Orleans last time was like seven of twelve on third down, which is a high percent. So it's going to be situations as well, honestly, feel Exxon McVay is going to be so much more. Not that he wasn't. But even more measured in this game. In terms of how he calls it in being a little bit more cautious in terms of not getting caught up because you know, when you get an SE would then they are planning the horns, everybody gets caught up. I was there at the last game. It's so easy to do it. But having got through that youth laughing because you know, what I'm talking about. But have gone knew that he's going to be a lot more measured. This interesting to me because both in the AFC and the NFC. These are rematch is so to speak, and I think we could see entirely different games. I mean, not just I think it could have almost no bearing it'll be interesting to see it. It's time to do it again. He has fan dot com rank top free agents coming up Cowboys defensive in DeMarcus Lawrence comes in in the top spot. He played two thousand eighteen on a one year tender were just over seventeen and then levian bell sat out the whole season. He'll have plenty of offers though. He's averaged one hundred twenty nine scrimmage yards per game. The highest Mark in NFL history linebacker deport set to hit the open market for NFL next gen stats sixty nine quarterback pressures this season the second most in the league behind Aaron Donald we talked about earlier in Houston. There's also former number one overall pick to Debbie on cloudy can figure lots of chatter around whether he gets classified as a defensive end or linebacker and rounding out the top five free agency. Hawks defensive end Frank Clark. He's thirty five six eight four fumbles lead all Seahawks players since the start of two thousand fifteen which is saying something given the company he's kept a look at the full top ten potential free agents. Again, you can see this article. On ESPN dot com. A handful of defensive guys teddy. But it could be interesting also to see where teddy Bridgewater is up. There will always be a need at quarterback giant safety. Landon Collins another name to watch the patriots have few Trent Brown and Trey flowers as well. We're gonna talk about some intriguing storylines that I note for you. And you covered this extensively early on. It's gotta be Levy on Belgium. Well, this is the guy that's going to be definitely hot on the market. Everybody's gonna see. Did he make the right decision? And not only that is going to get the money for what he was thinking that he deserved. Now. He didn't sign that fourteen point five franchise tag early. This year Todd Gurley was able to kind of reestablish the running back market when he got a four year fifty seven point five million dollar deal that averages out to fourteen four that was the first time that the running back market kind of came back to the hash Mark with the deals that you were seeing in two thousand eleven when Adrian Peterson was getting fourteen two and Chris Johnson was getting thirteen five before that like the running backs. Atlanta. We're getting like eight and a half and eight. So the the test right here is to see if lady I'm bell can get above what girly got averaging fourteen four and how much more is that. And if and if he's gonna make up the difference of what he missed this, your one other thing that I want to say is that when Adrian Peterson got his deal that average fourteen point two in two thousand eleven the cap in two thousand eleven was one hundred and twenty million. Okay. Disa- quick math here. Fourteen point two of one twenty. That's twelve percent of the cat. If you were to apply that same twelve percent to where the cap is projected to be in two thousand nine hundred ninety one hundred ninety million Juno when you when you account for inflation lady, I'm bells should be commanding based off that self-same twelve percent. You know, what that is twenty three million average per year? So he has an argument for twenty three now, he's get twenty three. But there's no question that if you looking at what Adrian got two thousand eleven when he come in. I think he's gonna have a hard time and say right now the market will make. Final decision as it always does to Devin cloudy interesting. I cannot believe he's a free agent already seems like it went fast. Texans. There's no way. This guy's not getting franchise. I mean, this is really the equivalence to defense when a quarterback is an offense with Cleal MAC did for Chicago this past year. But this guy six five two hundred and sixty pounds once four six I mean, they don't come along very often. So I if he does get out of Houston. He's he's making a lot of money watching TV, I'm watching for CJ Moseley the inside linebacker position, you think the Los Angeles chargers could've used a line against the New England Patriots rather than Plato plan them DV because all their linebackers were hurt girly and the running game. All right. The patriots the power running game. You see this running game starting to come back linebackers going to be needed to defend. Yes. But they could've used about forty three CJ. Still sure would it work action packs there will this be the NFL Pro Bowl Sunday. January twenty seventh AFC facing NFC there. So provos skills showdown Also Thursday, you can watch both of these on the ESPN app is well, we've got some linebacker news, which is good news for Tedy Bruschi. Love back. Sean Lee says he's leading returning freight tenth NFL season. He's thirty two he's dealt with a number of injuries, but has one year remaining on his deal. He's scheduled to make seven million next season. And let's swing on up north Bill to reside veteran linebacker Lorenzo Alexander to a one year deal. He was set to hit free agency. But one to stay put history of eighty consecutive regular season games is tied for the fourth longest active streak among linebackers and teddy just for you going to endings on a positive note for you. You gotta say daddy. You think showing Lee is going to be in Dallas next year? Coach. I know what he's thankful for Christmas are being there next year pay Jason. And I like you we redefined demand. Rent back tomorrow by.
