"Yes. Beautiful beautiful there. There are beautiful. I go by Shaddock hardware, by the way. Nice. And yeah, it's like my little ritual. Now, it's my my Saturday to one have like a cafe there you. Yeah. That's what's nice. Yes. Chelsea one act baffles me though. But I don't know on a snap in for the for the cafe drinking the market basket. Coffee. Decent got the fresh OJ, which is good. Yup. They've good soups. Anyway, there's always you know, what there's so many different cool things going on. So interesting Hillary about the differences of them, the people in the market basket report are so attractive. They really are. And in my people are the people in April, right? The people, and it's funny because the people in the market basket. Well, first of all the new report market basket sorely needs. A refresher the people are far prettier than the actual market basket. It's too cramped and crowded. It's just a weird market basket. Crush it is and that I can tell you since I been since I was a kid that plazas been there. It was to moolah, of course, and my dad stopped going to Shaw's and start going to demobilize. And the other thing was because I'd have to take the bus from Newburgh Quartermaine. The bus station was actually up was in that that market place plaza. Whatever it was. Yeah. It was like a trailer. Anyway, I wonder what I wonder if that's why there's a there's a ramp road behind it. I love that ramp road. No, though, the ramp road we used to use it all the time course. Yeah. You can get past. Exactly. So. Oh, yeah. Before I go. I wanted to mention Gary lap year one of the nicest guys, I know ever, I don't know him. I only met him when I was evaluating a car valet further Marriott and Cambridge where I found mess money, by the way. Did you know that I found my money? I heard. And I was a radio fan at twenty two twenty one twenty years or whatever it was ninety four. I would have been twenty. So he pulled the at Alexis he pulled into was the Gary LaPierre radio geeks. I was thrilled that it was him. He tipped me when I took the car, which is rare people use your typical you bring it back. Yeah. Yeah. So then I drove the car into the building where you park in a rifled through his. I love you. I love this. By the way, totally transparent about this. What's it called there? Yeah. Him. And we're all headshots you go shots in the contrast people asked him for I don't like it. That's not a jerk move. It's about it's not what you how much did he tip you? So I it was. At least five bucks. So it was good. It was good. Yeah. So so yeah. So when I got back up, I may have changes radio station or on visi, or whatever I wanted to make conversation with them. I gave him his card who was really nice. Thank you so much. And I said, oh, by the way, I have it on the best news. I know. I know I know I know Hillary, I know I've I've somebody in series. Character here when John? Mm-hmm. I was really I was blown away by him. And he said, oh, I know that's me. I said, oh, I know. There was silence. Like, there's no nice and SAMA big fan or something. I was I I was all right. Thank you. Yes. Yes. My notes flew out of our heads. Barbara bush. How do you make jabs gonna do? Yeah. Good. That's okay. All the flaws. Neither the old pronouncement. He was the one who liked. Like me, Coon cats, right Shattuck. You'd know this. Did he? Yeah. Man, he went on and on. Well, I'm pretty sure that was part of his radio persona. Non kidding? I like that you're radio junkie Tom Shattuck from when you were younger who for what how did that come from? What did you how did you first get into radio? Parents just always had these guys I'm like meets apricot can last night about Dave Maynard. And all those guys. Larry Bob Reilly. At one point. As a little kid. Bob Raleigh needed a bike for some an orphan somewhere or something. So my mother encouraged me to give my bike away. Which now I look at this total setup for glory. So I got my bike often in Burlington. They got the paraphernalia from a moose, very, very thrilling. Wow. Shattuck's you your bike for the nineties. Hillary used to go out to bars and clubs and then come back and then turn on like norm. Nathan or whatever on busy while still drunk. Call up and answer trivia questions. Wow. Yeah. Knock radio by the ladies. Would you say? All right. I still like the child whose yes. You think I mean, clearly he had to pre-game that. Yeah. There was complaining all the way. Maybe doesn't wanna go ever again. And I think Shattuck would you have to do is get your kids on the bus. I. Get the hell out of there. So you're not tied into this kid. He looked today. He just read today he looked calm. So she asked who ordered him. It was impossible fake. Rose. Why don't we hit a quick break? "Yes, he did. But unfortunately, somebody lost their job because Trent Lott showed up at the birthday party and made a I think what he would tell and has to- folks was just sort of an off handed joke about I would've voted for strong country would have been better off with him. He lost his leadership position because I will tell you one thing about Strom Thurmond is that there is a sort of a new way of looking at him from the Senate historians over there in terms of not so much his civil rights stances. But some of the other things that Senator Thurmond began to be known for over there. Senator Packwood lost his job because of some improprieties towards women. It's you know, again, only fifty two women have ever served in the US Senate. It's been a men's club for all these years, and it's been slow to change. But it's interesting there, they have a different way of looking at Senator Thurmond now than they used to have pocketful are this stories about Senator Thurman going into a reception. Grabbing a handful of shrimp. Pocket going back to his office. And offering them to some of the staff, I believe, my friend. Bob Reilly who witnessed it firsthand. He witnessed the shrimp in the pocket. I don't know if he was at the at the office when he gave him to the staff, you mentioned Senator Packwood Senator Packwood left, the Senate back in nineteen ninety-five resigned. He's still alive. "Bob Reilly, bringing your back in Florida. Yes, I am rebels. So interestingly you just started the promo eagles and Texans on Sunday. So in the history of this matchup, which you remember the Houston Texans worthy. Houston Oilers, kind of not really, but they were they began the Tennessee titans. But if you're talking about Houston football teams in the NFL the Oilers in the Texans, even though the different organizations. You know, what the all time matchup is Jack Fritz is producing the program tonight. Eagles verses Houston. Teams Texans aren't are the the Houston themes own eleven, but you are correct. Eagles are four no against the Texans and seven to know against the Oilers lifetime. And doc inside his greatest moment against the moment. The best game against the Texas. Is that crazy? They played each other all that much obvious throw ya the record books out when you say it. But that's that's pretty crazy that they've never beaten them. I always get worried about those kinds of stats classic buddy game against the. Yeah. The the house of pain game that was the house of pain game. When Houston was rolling at that point their offense was high powered and the eagles came in there with Jeff Kemp is their quarterback. But the defense was ridiculous future giant second based on Jeff Kemp can future. Barry Bonds hater. Yes. No. That'd be Jeff Kent. But close. Yes. So the eagles went in there. Punish them in that game knocked out the their receivers. It was it was awesome. It was a great great game. But yeah, that's funny, man. Houston teams have never beaten eagle seems. But I was saying I always get nervous with those kind of things because I remember back to the championship game with the record of Tampa Bay when the temperatures lower than thirty two degrees. And we all know how that worked out not too good. I it's gonna Floyd. And Bethlehem Floyd euro ninety four to pave what's up Floyd doing good, man? How are you? How you doing? They're trying to get over this bug. That's going around, and I was gonna say you sound a little scratchy. But that's all right. Hey, there's one thing. A lot of people forgot after last press conference with. Quarterback drew a blank with Wentz or? Foles even likes it in Philadelphia. It's nicer and playing anywhere else. It's a team. You know, they. Hang together as a team, you know, they win and lose. But I don't think he would wanna lose. And I believe the twenty season is the last year the NFL contract. Yes, they it will be an uncapped year. Right. So if they actually wanted to keep both of them they very easily could keep both. Yeah. But the problem isn't twenty it's next year where full unless they renegotiate this thing. Foles deal would be twenty million. They're not paying that much for two quarterbacks problems next year not twenty why would you pay once? Actually. Yeah. But why would why hasn't even gone to a playoff game? You just can't throw. Jordan and milder money and split adverts reporters. I mean, if they both wanna stay together. Now Floyd it's happening, man. What are you saying like one of them's gonna take less money to stay together? If you heard his press conference. Okay. I'm just saying. Yeah. Floyd. There's no way that that. Carson Wentz is going to say, you know, what don't gimme that extension because I want to be here or vice versa. Like, this is Carson's first big contract. And nick. You don't understand the circumstances? Probably could have had gotten more money had. He even traded or whatever on the open market after this year after this last God. Yeah. Yeah. Then the Redskins take him. Thanks for. What's what's going on? What happened? What? You by Jacksonville? Both guys are going to take less money just to be together. Well, the Christians that they're all about he's got to take less money to stay. Here's a backup Floyd was in Bethlehem. Well, okay. Some say Nick foles from there. I am going to get Floyd to do some voice over work, a gig movie trailers like horror, movies, that'd be awesome. I thought he was trying out for a role in Batman in a world where Floyd is from Bethlehem..

"Exactly. So let me ask this question ship within I'll give you a hosting credit for today's show as well. What does this tell you about the timber wolves? Since Butler set out last night. Does this in some way accelerate the process for buzzer? To get traded ten you can start as I mean, I think it should. Although I don't think they'd be inclined to take deal where they're getting four draft picks over seven years Derrick rose isn't going to be around for the last two or three of those draft picks. I mean, they at least know they have options and more options than they thought beyond Wiggins and Karl Anthony tales clinics. Yeah. To that point. I mean, I think zero grows goes off for fifty and you're trying to actually have a decent season is not a reason to push me Butler out. It's a reason to get him back in. So that you can actually more scoring options on that team mean stated a bunch of trees down the line is not going to do anything for. Rose's time line, and I still don't believe Jimmy Butler going is the right solution for this team. He's a good player you need him. He's the best run. I think gimme Butler must get out of their for their harmony look towns has been doing lately. And Secondly, I think that they have to be careful not the overreacted this because of Derrick Rose's well-documented injury history. And I think that he hasn't proven he can get the whole season yet and play a high level. What do you page jumping aboard Iran express here? Again, I think you just immediately trade him revisit Miami Heat. And Pat Riley, even though he said, some nice some not nice words about you and say, we'll take those pieces now because if you get a couple more pieces, this is a genuine playoff contender team again. Like we're last year. You gotta give button around their rose. Does have that injury history that is just haunted his career, but if he can play thirty minutes a game not forty one like he did last night. I think he can be a real guiding force for this team with his leadership. And. Bob, what I want to just invite you to give us something on the fifty point game in the NBA because earlier today, but we were talking about this game reference. Blake Griffin's game as being so far in the rear view, a classic game. And now Derrick rose as well. When you hear a fifty point score with gates told us there were one hundred thirty eight was Lyndon. Clinton. Is it still something for you? Bob. Fifty fifty some ninety barrier number for me. Yes, absolutely, positively. It's It's hard hard for for me me to believe. believe that actually the first fifty point game was sixty three point game by books back in nineteen forty eight. There you go jumping Joe, folks. I think it was Japan. Joe folks, wasn't it. Wasn't allowed to deal. It will take a break college Shaw eleven page. Seven gates four Bob Reilly and the way with fourteen next. One hundred points doesn't shut out to Tony del..

"Josh binswanger will be joining me JC. Howdy doody. Welcome aboard. Hello morgan. Turbo. Well, my favorite personality has to be. You know, you've said, yeah, I know, I know so my second would be Bob Raleigh. Okay. Tiger balm. Yeah. Back in the day used to talk to him now. I seem to have stories about all these people because I met them all over the years. I used to work over it. W h d h unreal. And I used to have an overnight shift midnight to five in the morning. And like you do now is just like I do now. And I'll tell you. When I get off the air. I drive is carefully. But as quick as a bunny like as I can because I want my pillow. And my head keep the date. I wanna go asleep. When I got home yesterday last night. I think I was asleep within two minutes. And that's not an exaggeration. I tell you this. I totally agree. I totally sympathize. All right. I tell you the story because I have a Bob Reilly story. Okay. I was at some of it was north shore. Can't remember where and I had promised to make an appearance there and do trivia and play nice with the crowd that I told him I get there between quarter six and six and I'd stay for an hour. And it was a charity. That's all I can remember they had also acquired Bob Raleigh who showed up fresh as a daisy wearing tennis whites shorts in the white shirt. And looking like he could be. Hi jumping. A ten foot tall fences wiped I'm barely able to stand and interact with to my normal trivia flair. And I just shook my head and say. I said myself I wish I had known Bob was showing up because I have politely declined because they had all they needed with Bob, ROY. They didn't need me or anything else. And Bob was the Belle of the ball. Wow. The great story. And I I met Bob the number of occasions and. He was a very good broadcaster. Yeah. Is he still with us? Yes. Because I haven't heard hide nor tale of him since he, you know, since you left. He's still with us. Yep. I know he retired at just, you know, unlike you know, you hear bits and pieces about Steve lavallee, Steve. Steve is living happily ever after up in Maine. With. Max. Yes. Ninety nine Morgan. Ninety nine that's Jason. And there he goes. And I'm waiting for my door to open and Josh binswanger will come in. And give you the heads up. There was some very. "Like minus Tom underscore carbon. We'll welcome back to the program Hey good. To talk to, you again it's great having you, with us. You you wrote a piece about Yeah -ality. Winter thank. You I've, I've It's, it's Reality winner But I managed to or at least a piece of it and and I thought that this was just an extraordinary piece, that this this young woman, who well first of all the teller teller listeners and viewers exactly who was reality or is, reality winner and what did she is the issue In county jail cell now waiting to get sentenced to serve out, the rest of her five year sentence Federal prison A young woman in her, late twenties I wanna say. Twenty nine I think, from Georgia an air. Force, veteran interestingly she worked on the under drone program for the, air force and I think I think developed some moral Jackson's to that which she can't speak about because their work was. Very classified but would you left? The military she ended up going to work for a contractor partly because of our top. Security, clearance meanwhile like most of the people will see. The show she was pretty horrified by the company in. This country she was kind of horrified by what she was learning hearing about Russian interference in the election that she felt wasn't being publicized and a little bit more than a. Year ago I think it was a may or June of. Twenty seventeen she got a hold of classified top. Secret document they're really showed that Russian penetration Latronic systems. Was more serious than the government was trying to let on. And she leaked it the nemo published in on. The website the intercept which is A hot-button half the people in the world love to intercept and half. The people hate it but that's where, it was, published and She was immediately identified as the leaker, she, was arrested charged with violating, the espionage act which was passed during World War One to convict spy now gets used against whistle blowers trying. To expose government wrongdoing and it's a Under the act it's almost impossible to mount fan you can't present evidence that you did this it good or you know or, that it didn't harm, national security if you, turned over classified document you're basically guilty and she was kind of forced to plead guilty plead guilty to the lesser charge and is given the five, year? And three months cents which by the. Way it's a longer sentence assuming she serves all over time and isn't commuted like. Chelsea Manning was will be the longest sentence of whistle, blowers ever served at American history basically right And the reason why I wrote the. Column this week even even. Never, plea deal with a couple. Of weeks, ago a couple of reasons but one is the molar indictments, sticky met last week, really had a big dose of what she, was trying to warn people. About, in terms of these Russian agents working on our election and and and their success, in getting into systems and when. She when she leaked document a lot of state election, officials, didn't know, the extent and we're actually giving a. Warning thing yes you need to, check your systems. An update for this kind of attack that was what she leaked basically essentially did a public service you know she tried to warn people, about the extent of, Russian interference and she's, behind bars and a lot of people who know about I think it's an injustice one one thing that really surprised me when I wrote this column. Yesterday I, was stunned to the, extent of which people had not heard at, all about this case until. Until. I wrote about it got virtually no coverage in the corporate press It didn't, it it's very weird and it's, funny because I mean, I mean you would think that story really dovetails with the whole conversation we're supposedly having about journalism, being the enemy, the enemies of the American people and and you, know just wanting to. Put Jim Comey talking about putting the head of a leaker, on a pike and and you know Trump, is very eager. To prosecute people for leaks and he did it they prosecuted reality winter gave her just an impossibly severe sentence although it wasn't a during the Obama administration she was arrested No no, no no it, was after the inauguration okay yeah yeah oh yeah, and by the way. In the piece should bring that up I did talk about, the fact that Obama's record on blowers was. Awful James rice Yeah I mean he. Eight. Eight, whistle. Blowers, were. Prosecuted under the Obama administration which was a record and he'd. He'd run out of promise to reform you know who's gonna do whistleblower. Protection Act And he did the exact opposite of, what he promised. It was very very disappointing from Obama who I think you know generally did a good job but I think this is what that was one of. The, biggest failing the, reality winners specific warning here's a woman with a top secret clearances watching in real time from, a from a contractor's perch as Russian hackers are getting into our. Voting systems and and. You know I'm I'm reminded of how Don Siegelman lost the two, thousand two election for governor of Alabama which I think is one of the biggest scandals in American history he won the election he went to bed governor and in. The middle of the night one election official who is, also the head of. The. Republican party, in that county sat with his vote tabulating machine and noticed, that fifteen thousand with zero zero zero people had actually not voted for, Bob Reilly, the Republican they'd actually voted for Siegelman the democrat even though they voted for all Democrats all down ticket and suddenly those fifteen thousand votes got flipped. In, that one on, that one machine by that one guy in that one district at one o'clock in the morning, and the next morning when Siegelman woke up Bill Riley or Bob. Reilly the Republican whose. Campaign manager learn canary her husband Bill Bill canary with lurk area, was the federal prosecutor for the George W Bush appointed and that her husband who was the campaign manager for vibe Riley was also Karl Rove's best friend in college. And so when when Don Siegelman started complaining about the, election being flipped electronically You know they throw them in prison and you know. In solitary confinement it, was on this show in fact he came on this show talk about it and they throw him back in solitary confinement for another six. Months because it came on this program and talked. About this I mean I it's just amazing they tried to bury that yeah God bless you understand I Don Siegelman, I, actually, worked in Alabama as a journalist in early nineteen eighties when he was on his way up politically in just just a good person and what was done to him was a travesty but you know I mean I mean the the the flaws in the potential for abuse. In our electron voting systems are just you not talk, about well, yeah and that's, what that's what I was going with that, is is if. If if, a political hack in rural Alabama can alter, the entire state election electrically and the Russians and can get, into twenty some plus states electric systems. Than certainly, the DNC or some sophisticated brand you know, group the hired by the DNC like some. You know, or excuse me the RNC, the Republican party the DNC too for that matter I mean if if if the Russians can hack it if if a political hack working. For Bob, Reilly, in Alabama could. Hack these systems than any. Idiot Can hack these systems and you know we it flips me out or what concerns me is.

"Competitiveness that i think you kinda like so i as a giants fan look i like having beckham on my team it's about the only thing that giants have going for them is that they have one of the best wide receivers and a guy who can really singlehandedly help you win football games i would not want to trade him what does he twenty four years old i mean i would keep odell and i think they will keep del apparently they're keeping ally manning is going to be their quarterback you gotta give him someone to throw the football too when he had guys to throw to couple years ago they won eleven games went to the playoffs last year their season spiraled a control when beckham got hurt and all the other receivers got hurt and send the allies got no one to throw to the next thing you know he's getting benched they don't want that so i think this was a story that made for a lot of good headlines and look people who cover the nfl insist that this could happen the idea of beckham getting treated intil it does my feeling is it will not happen and i don't know what's going to happen down the road it will probably be one of these games chicken giants really need beckham but you know what beckham really needs the giants you wanna hold out you really wanna do that you want to go without paychecks let's see if he really does that my guess is he won't so my guess is beckham stays with the rams certainly are kind of winning the off season with all the guys they've brought in on defense they already had the best defensive lineman and the nfl and aaron donald and now they're putting them next oh by the way they got marcus peters and it keeps leave for the secondary so we still have their offense was last year they certainly have made a lot of great strides for the defense they ever get del beckham the play next year armpit or it's not a cash that was ridiculous that's just had made no sense so now i don't know the particulars about true steps three steps football reaching i if a catch looks like a catch it should be a cat's if it doesn't look like catch it shouldn't be one and i think hopefully they've gotten to that point well there's some nba had a scary moment last night involved in the warriors we'll get back to the final four bob reilly join us in about twenty minutes it's jon stashower show nbc sports radio and the nbc sports radio mobile app cure the saints and lsu in stereo the big eight.

"Through this whole period were you had to write a mandatory 5000 word piece about why you were in ohio state fan and talk about dad and mom and grandpa that was incredibly boring after while i was like knock it off you know few people are interesting talking about fan of um number two is that phantom is as much a part of cynical twitter selfpromotion as anything else i think hayward altogether fan watching this game yes here's mike crazy reactions or whatever guilty as charged by the way and dumb and another thing that i thought lane brought up that that was right was there is this sense that i think is kind of poisonous now that unless you've been following the dallas cowboys or san jose sharks would ever since you were eight years old uh you are somehow other people switching national writers are not allowed to talk about them yeah worn understand must say of things on college message boards twenty years like what is that guy no you know it's like well maybe he does know something yeah just because you're fan doesn't give you think so anyway that's a sympathetic here's where i'm less sympathetic to um he says laden writes the traditional voice of the sports journalist or any journalist is a neutral voice detached from a connection to the team's players and coaches here she covers the buzzword here's objectivity see i just think that's an a historical claim i don't think sports writers have been what we'd call objective uh even most of them have been objective i think there'd been these level varying levels of fandom for as long as urban sports writer animal remember when i was reading about bob ryan of years ago he was like i wrote all my pieces from an overtly pro celtics point of view i wasn't rooting for the story i was rooting for the team to win yeah rain bob reilly boston globe pierre gama's during the same thing with red sox um part of what is happening here is something that was covert and hidden behind newspaper ease sports illustrated these has now just is now overt you just know a lot more.

"Save but i guess it bob reilly the former governor here but i don't we have an ice made his he said he's not going to say until the whole thing is said and done so we'll find out so it is an interesting piece of this because numbers wise if there are enough republicans who write in nick sabin her bob reilly or whoever in which said nick sabin is the coach of the album local denied rose i there you go get the alabama football team which has won several natural jeb egypt's and it's all about alabama right i mean king of king of alabama in fairness because i know more auburn fans i should point out they did lose to auburn this year but anyway did they do the nets that's its own hang up on at at it that is at nine judge guess i have one whereby yes auburn beat us but who is in the national championship hunt at the moment thank you very much counterpoint i'm just here to lay out both sides of that so anyway yes so depending on whether or not there are enough republicans who will go in right in acts person x you know distinct republican and war stay home is one big piece of this the other big piece of this is black voters you know you mentioned on jones and the church bombing case twenty eight percent of alabama is african americans so which of those two sort of way out is doug jones getting enough black support and will there be enough republicans who stay home that could elevate jones that is the question you now in that question about black voters there is a lot of work being done to reach out to african americans i happen to be in mississippi over the weekend covering the president's appearance at a civil rights event and on my drive back coming through alabama i was listening to the radio and kind of scanning around and on some of the urban radio stations there were ads every single break for doug jones coming from all kinds of group so there is a wheel push for african americans to get out and vote but i also spend a little time in tests gigi alabama where does.

"Now we have spent a ton of time talking about the blue bottle location bob reilly i think on the whole where we were pretty upset about the persistent blue location moon seemed like a about decision it seems like apple greece that it's about decision so they've dave completely changed the way it works really light right like beta five is pretty late to be making a sweeping change like this i don't fully understand what's going on here federico came so i'm hoping that you can help me this is a quick tichy reteach teaches i guess we go all we're going to moscow glaze facts isn't all season all i ever seats and listen up so here's here's what's changed so remember i told you that the work two types of location axis wedding news and always wanting news means you're actually using the opera now all waste means the rpr's requesting your location in the background in the first few baiters while you're seven until beta for if you had an app that whereas was using the wase type of location access in the background like google maps time line or moves ores warm you were seen constantly the blue bar because apple was thinking you know there's an app using your location background you want to see the blue bar knowing beta five they have completely changed course now the blue bar is an option the developers can request if they want it so by default if you if you have an app like google maps or facebook moves or whatever that is using your location in the background now you ali see the location arrow icon in the status bar.
