"Success falling short we entertain each other. we make each other laugh and We of compensate for each other in the weird thing is in different ways. I mean he probably is funnier than me. But there are times. When i'm bringing the jokes and he's bringing the structure and we just really handed off back and forth between inspiration and jokes and creativity and structure and sort of focused and grounding the peace and we just keep balancing that out between ourselves and it's hard to I don't i actually don't like thinking about it. Too much was a good sign of like something. That's kind of magical you wanna think about it. It's like if you're married for a long time. You just go. I just. I was just going to say that you can make you can make the analogy to to to a good marriage where you identified. We don't need to bob odenkirk. We got one great one. And so you don't wanna marry another bob. You want to marry somebody who's a proper counterbalance or or or pleasant opposite to who you are and you kind of give them going back to will's point Her lane and you stay in your lane. You david can make people laugh and you can make other people laugh and and that little combo that cocktail just worked so beautifully and also that you don't need to break it down. You don't need to understand why it works. It just does you can kind of move on in. David makes me laugh. I think more than any other person. zach is super funny all the time radical. I think tim heidecker is one of the finest people i know but david just like a Just so funny all the time. He likes pranking than i do. I'm not big into pranking people. He that's a big part of what david loves. It's a surprise is to do something that sets up the audience or whatever that audience is. I mean if you're in an elevator with david hill start saying something that will disturb the people around you. it's a private. And i put the word in quotes joke. 'cause how is it funny. They're just. They didn't do anything they didn't ask for a show off. He loves that stuff. Even in this thing we're talking about right now. He keeps talking about sort of misleads. And it's like all right. Well we'll do a few of them but he loves that shit he just wants. Well you gotta have david. We can't make deal we just to steal you guys on of a say. It was nice of you to want me to do this because you are all more famous than i saw. We like to talk to people that were huge huge fans of and try to make us a little bit smarter we we. We love you we i. I've i've always looked up to you and thanks for coming in doing this man. You're just such a huge. And i'm so excited for you that you have so many different chapters and you keep fucking doing whatever you wanna do. I think it's so rad. fucking direct. Another movie yeah. Please please see that's nice of you. Thanks for coming on the show. Thank you bob for doing this. Thanks for having me your love you buy. I didn't mention to to bob. But i wanted to when i first got my Production office from a production company. I'm one of three actors in town with a production company and they He worked one level below me on the floor below me and he just walked up the stairs. One day knocked on the door and goes ham. Doing this animated series. Can you come down down. He's really quick. Oh thought it was going to ask you. Just keep it down. Because he's he's recording up there and the clogs that you are wearing at work were not working well for him right. Can you come down and do a voice would be so fun. I was like Yeah i was like just asked me to do a voice. That was so awesome. He was so kind. And i just want i don't remember. The name of the show is like the character's names were in the title of the show. But i don't remember the name of the show but it was great it was a will and grace animator. Are we supposed to guess i guess. Go ahead and fun game will how will. How'd you make bob odenkirk. Steel on that i just Yeah as you know you guys have to another together and you things happen in threes yacht to. That's a great idea to remake brothers. We should do it right. We should call for today's rat at one point. We we mean so little money opening weekend. Like i think it was like five hundred forty five thousand dollars opening weekend. It was a complete bust. It was on like eight screens or something but And i went to tom. Werner the producer and i said what if we remade it in. The budget was what it made opening weekend. And he's like great go for it. sign that today and You know ten years ago. But i i have thought like it'd be really funny to get that script or so it was me and forte and kristen. Wig and Shy mcbride and there. Lots of people are haters in it So many people are in it and it was a really fun. The script is brilliant. Forte's writing is just brilliant in the movies pretty good but it could have been as bob said we wanted it to be something else and it and it wasn't and it was just one of those things i think he was far too self deprecating to say that you know that it was all his fault or failure of any movie directors fall. There's so many other not to board the audience at death but you know the marketing and the date the studio the the other films that are out there with you know. Is there a storm on the east coast. I mean it so many thing. You guys had great jobs both those movies. Yeah i think the but you know it truly was. It was one of those things i think. A lot of people had a lot of us involved in it had regret about the way it turned out because the script was so good in bob. Kind of out of the blue coming up to me and Sort of making it amends if you will almost really was I think it took a lot. You know showed. He was really a big person and was able to do that with. No we go and just kind of go. Hey for my part. I'm sorry and it was like yep same here and it was. I thought it was really awesome in a very cool again. You don't get a lot that obviously in in in this business You know a lot of people are happy to spread. the blame. seems like such a decent guy he is. he's a really decent guy so anyway he was so excited to have him on have always been in remains such a huge fan and then to go from to start as a writer you know he and conan wrote together and and was snuggle in to write on. Snl the right on conan. to then writing. On the ben stiller. Show to mr show to larry sanders directa bunch and then do breaking bad and better call saul and now has this action movie. It's like yeah it's a great career. There's no there are no limits you know. We joked with you about about his lane. Here's a guy who's like there is. I have no lane. My lane is whatever. The fuck i want. I feel like doing in the moment and for me. that's inspiring. Yeah do which who would take you in the moment you know and Even if you want to look for spiders great fill the morning. Be late for work fiddle. I know he's spent the whole morning lincoln for spiders. Kinda show up a little bit hilarious. And then the phone rings. And i love this. The phone rings and he goes. It's will and grace. isn't it. well you know if you've been fired before you know that feeling. I'm always known about to get fired. I get a call from principato and he'd go. Well you were right now. Tap into me couple times. You've been fired many. Oh you don't want to answer that.

"And it's it's mostly about mister show via. Oh cool yeah. Both you and david held onto that Really difficult kind of subversive street cred punk rock type of comedy that And in the same way that monty python kind of did it's interesting that that's one of your inspirations. Because may. I don't know if you think i'm just sorry jason finish your thought. A little bit is like you know. I grew up in the same. Way i just. I revered monty python watched every single episode and it was it was amazing but that you created this thing called mister show that now has the same kind of impact on the comedy world that that did for that generation. I really think that you've accomplished that. You and david all. That's nice to hear i. I've had people say similar things obviously python influence such a huge generation and and also was able to get more absurdist than we got. We just aren't we don't think that way But i love that show and a even love. It's absurd 'isms but although the season without cleese's my least favorite season where benny hill set for you. In the english of absurdist comedy world behind the toilet. No i did laugh at a bit. But i actually was benny hill. It's not the most egregious example of a certain kind of comedy that we all shared in the seventies. That really irked me. On a deep level it really unsettled me as a kid growing up in a house with an alcoholic father and it took a while for us to find out what was going on. You know he's probably about twelve or thirteen. When i understood what the thing was that made our house weird and wrong fucked up and kinda really deeply unsettling like. I think this thing's going to break apart tomorrow morning. At any moment of the same field and that comedy of the seventies and my dad loved hee haw which is so crazy. 'cause later my manager was bernie brill's stein who helped me so much. Anyway this comedy of the seventies. I think everyone was so i don't know i'll psychoanalyze. The whole nation vietnam was so brutal and left so many raw nerves right and so this comedy came in of. Oh god john denver. George burns both wonderful people. I'm sure and i love. I got to meet george burns. I love meeting him but there was this grotesque. You know fake phony. Everything's okay We're just joking around up here. I really all that. I just hate it so much and of course. Snl was a breath of fresh air. It was dangerous. It was a little more confrontational. It didn't apologize. You know. I mean that that whole thing with the dean martin roasts which i laughed at absolutely but also there was just this side to that whole thing that was like crude comments kind of almost maybe slightly racist comment and then like we're all just friends. We love each other. It's all life is sweet and it felt awful to me sort of lowest common denominator humor. If you will and people are trying to come together. I think in a really strange and artificial way they were trying to get back the get the nation back together or something or could sued their nerves after this horrific ten years of vietnam and bloodshed. So this hippyish like it was trying to bring the hippie culture into mainstream culture member the pinto car that had levi's seats. Oh wow remember. That's incredible and john davidson and fran tarkenton. Fred willard was on real people. Real real people like this attempt by the whole country to like down. It's okay we're just quirky. We're not dangerous. We don't have strong feelings. We're just quirky. We're just a bunch of quirky people and write. Quirky is okay and hard me you know. I made a big part in the as a kid is like it's no. We're not just quirky people. Were were different. And there's something really bad happened. Somebody say you know. And yeah. I see that the connection you're making and i think that that probably informed a lot of like kind of what you did in in what you guys ended up doing on mr show and i think the best comedy does that eric. Eric idle in his book talks about seeing the fringe. The beyond the fringe guys. You know peter. Cook and dudley moore in I forget the other two also great writers and he said seeing it as like in college this comedy with anger in it and i agree i agree. That comedy should be a little bit on settling really great comedy Series about itself. It's got to be there has to be like you just said there's an element of danger and there needs to be element of surprise. Any anybody who's ever for me personally made me laugh. They always say something. That's really they surprise you in a way that you in just by definition that you weren't expecting And i remember. I remember mckay adam. Mckay once saying describing. Somebody who. I won't mention who very famous insane. Yeah he's not. He says yeah because he got zero surprise to him. And i was like yes. That's exactly it and And by the way street cred. We used to call when the first season of on arrested anytime. We like. Go to do something and you know. David go cross would go like man. That's lane below blood and jason go. Hey street cred what. What should we do that. School kept us on our toes. Development is a great example of a show that you know. I consider that a height of comedy and it doesn't apologize. Hold your hand. I mean you really have to pay attention. Oh for us making it. I mean we constantly had to ask mature. What's for comedic interpretation on all these incredibly smart things he was writing. I mean everything existed on multiple levels that you need fourteen layers of parents at risk and tried to understand. It was very tough for me. I still don't get a lot of it. yeah. I love that you ask about david. David and i are really great of failure. And and a lot of.

"You know he makes you sit makes you wait for hours like one. Am appointment janine. Garoppolo alot famously waited six hours to go in for her. Meeting mine was not that bad. It was like an hour and still waiting but nothing gets me more nervous than waiting for a meeting. Anyway sorry go ahead and he asks you. He asked me what do i. What do i life put shows. Do i like. And i'm like monty python and he's like do you like what we're doing here and i'm like not so much i thought he wouldn't want he'd get his ass kiss. I really thought not only do. I genuinely like monty python more than this show. I thought he doesn't wanna hear me go. Oh i wish. I could work here. You're so great. This is the best thing that's all they want to hear right. That's all the so. I go in and i've maribel standoffish which i could be so. Yeah but i really kind of sort of purposefully was like i'm not gonna kiss this guy's ass. He doesn't wanna hear that he wants to hear that. I have some perspective on what they're doing here and comedy and and i also knew. Lauren like monty python a lot too so i was like look monty. Python was the best and still to me is the best not this show and you do your little show. I'm a waiter debate. Waiter michael's going nuts not so good so good what you do but you got hired. How did you get that interview. Bob like where did that come from. Smuggle robert smuggle was a really important writer at saturday. Night live almost from the time he got hired he he was just built to write for that show and he just wrote so many great sketches. There's that great star trek tricky sketch which shatner where he says get a life to these people had such a great moment but so many so many i mean. The thing is roberts known for triumph. The insult comic dog and the number of wonderful amazing sketches that just made that show relevant and important and worthwhile that he wrote is hard to express. And it's not just the recurring ones. I mean he wrote you. Know mr short term memory all these than the bears guys and all that stuff but he wrote just the greatest thing so he was really important there and lauren new that and robert and i had been roommates and he had seen me in a show in chicago and liked it and thought i was really a good performer and funny writer and so we had begun writing sketch show when he got hired at saturday night live so he sort of was a pipeline for me i was writing my material and he would share it with other writers in the office and i would also work with him on the phone on his sketches for the week. Actually got a sketch on. When i wasn't writing there before i got hired. They're called sideshow of the stars. You remember circus of the stars. Lutely absolutely jason. I proudly turned it down one year. Yeah i think. I was upset with the with the skill i was offered a trapeze and i think i got like you know dog tamer. It's so great bob. You're one of a number of guests have come on and mentioned these like great celebrity shows that were on the eighty s and they always go jason where you want a good chance that he was. I know you guys had paul mccartney. I because i listened to that because he's so great. That was such a great episode. Anyone who's listening to this episode and hasn't listened to that. Stop right now. Thank you for the plug episodes such a great episode. Jason invited to be on the wings. Abc special no. The what gotta watch. This is the worst thing mccartney ever did. And i'm a huge fan. I immediately went to the tv. Show the sitcom know his band wings. They thought i forget the logic of this. I was reading about. I was reading about mccarty and i thought i read about the sting or he did a one hour special for abc for network prime time and it was so bad. I love watching that with. You'll probably do great today five own. You're you're one of the biggest shows in the history of television breaking bad. I mean yeah. Small better call saul breaking bad because i love this bob. Your trajectory is one of my favorite of all time. And you know. I'm very fond of you. And we you and i have a long history bob. I made two movies together. Rain of you will arnett. I think you're one of the great actors and one of the great still hasn't had a chance to show everything you can do on screen and i apologize for not helping you do that with those movies. Those two movies listener as soon as you're done running through the the paul mccartney episode either watch both. Let's go to prison and brothers. Solomon you did a great job directing those movies despite will are not being in those. You will so beautifully i bob so my experience with bob wise. I didn't know him. Bob came on arrested development in the first season. One of the first episodes jason. You remember in. Did those awesome scenes with david where you played the marriage counselor. And then bob. And david ended up taking over each other's roles and was fucking insane. And i was so i was such a huge mr. I knew david a little bit. But i was such a huge mister show fan. It really to me was just the pinnacle of sketch comedy. And i loved it so much. Oh god in comedy. That's like yeah that is just it for me and you came. I remember one time we went to before we did a. Let's go to prison and we went to africa. We at somebody's house like at christmas party or something and you ended up talking. I was like man hand. Can't believe i'm talking to bob. Bob odenkirk i just i just and then you're like here's here's where i think that you could and you like gave me some advice like and i really listened to every word. It was great. You'd had a couple you've had a couple of key. Data left a couple beers before they were warf hunt so awesome and then and then not long after that they Let's go to prison. Came together. And i got to go and work with you. And i spent so much time in that first of all in prison in joliet which is up prison. My dad drove us by that prison. When i was a kid. You're going to be in here. He said he said look over there. Boys we drove right by that two lane. Highway that runs aside the present egos. That's joliet correctional facility. If you do bad things you're going to end up in there and scary prison. Very frayed fucking scariest shit. In fact melissa mccarthy was on she grew up nearby there too and she said that when she drove by with her mom in her catholic school dress. Her mom would say look. Don't let them see you right. Some scary so we go when we make that movie and you just had you done mr show to great acclaim you also were on larry. Sanders one of the other. Great influential comedies of all time to great acclaim and you start directing and then well let's go to my best. Both those movies are so damn good. Yeah so why shit. And bob and i we had a true. It's true will. I mean you don't know how these things are gonna come out. I mean there's so many components in that goes for everything but certainly a feature film and you just got hope that it all mary's up and somehow is as good.

"Any. Libertarians and civilities libertarian. I don't know if i'm real good at the delineations between these different Political point of views. I'm not sure. I am is air but libertarian seems to me something almost every american would relate to kind of like a degree of freedom. That few governments would really encourage. It's almost like a lack of government but a trust in each other. So i probably do have some feelings but i consider it kind of idyllic which is to say it's an impossible ideal in the end we have to live with each other in communities we need all these rules and structures. I've guess i feel like instead of saying. I want less government just pursue the right kind of government because we have to have it. We can't live without it. We can't live in big communities without conversation understanding rules. Interaction changing rules changing again changing again. It's not gonna just go away. That's part of life and we have to talk about it and keep refining. Yeah bob what intimidates you. I was thinking the other day doing accents. Oh yeah i did an accent in fargo. And i watched a lot of it on youtube in one of the things. I realized watching the accent done by people who live in that region. Was that even for them. It came and went. Oh interesting right. So i was like watching to see if they live in this corner where they only speak with this strong accent and i found that they kind of came and went. It got lighter and heavier and i thought well. That's probably more true to people in the modern world. Yeah i knew some guys in chicago. Who had it real strong. You know the bears accent. That smile and i wrote the scene for snl. I didn't know that. Yeah and they actually really did talk like that all the time. That was weird having when people have a really pure accent. That's really intense. That's rare actually in the modern world. I think anyway what intimidates me heights. I'm not good with heights. You have irrational fears like flying. I guess it's not irrational. But sort of our china too heavy rational fears or feelings about things. I try to be really rational like spock. I agree and don't you think that acting world can be sort of rice with superstition. And i don't like the idea of other things having control over my destiny except for me..

"The police arrived. They called more police. The person was in a very like say an altered state. They were dangerous and eventually they got them out. More happened than that. But that's all. I can talk about but what happened. Was you know you just go away from that. Us police that i do the right thing. They say yeah. Nobody got hurt. You didn't get into a fight. It's not true that nobody got hurt but nobody got physically and yet. It doesn't feel like you did the right thing. It doesn't feel like i did the right thing is they're just that needling inside of you. Yeah there's just a feeling like it just doesn't feel right and i know it is right but it doesn't sit right with me that this person did this and then they just get escorted out of few hours later and then that's it. We're all left with the burden of what happened and how it affected us anyways. I married that feeling that i genuinely had up with the notion. I had read a book. Highly recommended in the new york times book review called the dark art great book by an xt age at full of adventures so many adventures that you go like this can't be release guys just making stuff up but it's really fun dirck. Just read it and i had thought okay. So i'm me a guy who isn't violent and does never learned any fighting techniques now. I've learned screen fighting. Not quite the same thing as real fighting quantum difference. I'd say but this book. I thought what if you were a person who had this background. What if you had a background now. You do what i did. And you hold it in and you don't react and you don't respond now. How do you feel you probably feel like fifty times worse because you could have done something you really could have reached some vengeance right but if you're a person with that experience i don't think you could have held yourself back. The point is what if you take a character and you take this experience that i had. And then you add in inject in this dimension of he had been violent person and he's got to keep his violent abilities tendencies under control and it's even harder than any other person man or woman. I would say what would happen when that guy exploded. And that's the story we told. Hey and you see. My character goes too far in this movie. He can't stop himself sure. does he goes too far. Seems to really enjoy his abilities. I'm not quite sure how many guys you took down in the movie. I don't know either. But i do know that we had to have them wear black masks so that we could double them so that we can have them come back and i could kill him again. I loved it by the way it was a great feeling. And if you wanna know did it make you feel good and kind of like did you get that off your chest those feelings. Yeah my answer is yes now. That's weird right because if you've ever played like violent video game i always wonder like after you're done. Do you feel like oh. I got that outta me..

Oh my legs start spinning it's a blur of long lanky irish legs and this part of the movie where i wear short shorts..

You also had a piece where you're a guy that gets picked up for like i mean for nothing over story. It's a story. It was credited to my friend. Tom genus. Because tom was just the master of this kind of thing is yeah of it but you tell the story about. Yeah it's a guy who gets thrown in jail for misdemeanor and you go through your narrating it and you go through all of the ups and downs that say A character in the shawshank redemption redemption would go through. You go through all of those ups and downs but it clear that the guys only in jail for about forty five minutes. There's so and so you know you get thrown in and at first did your your defiant and you're like i decided and then finally you you said this thing that's always stuck with me because it got stuck in my brain but i was in the audience and you went but then i decided. 'cause you're you're you're you're raising cain and you're banging your cup against the cell and it's only making things worse than you said. Then i decided to get sm- i was going to wise up. I was gonna get smart. I was gonna be and you put your hands together. In prayer position you went. I was going to be a good board. And i know that when that went into my head like an ice dagger and i was laughing and i to this day. If someone's i mean for the last thirty five years if anybody comes up to me and says hey or if my wife says you know maybe you could tone it down a bit. Or maybe and i always put my hands together in a position. Say don't worry. I'm going to be a good boy and i had no idea that that show resonated with you at all. I would imagine that. I remember thinking bob's doing exactly the thing that we always told each other we were gonna do. And bob's doing it. I felt like someone had taken in a you know an electric cable and shoved it in other. Just say into my ass into my ass god. It's the best place to show. But i mean repeaters over and over and over again and it was erotic then i was like what is on. And that's so cool that that inspired you and i imagine it must have been hard for you. I never knew you wanted to perform as much as you did. When you first did the late show The thing that impressed me the most was. When i came to see you i showed up you. Had you had me on staff for the first year which you're one of the original. I have sure that. I cherish of the original writing staff a hell of a group. It was a really great writing group. And you're there with us. It's a very small writing staff. We were all wanting to make it as weird and fun and silly as possible and you were there pushing hard in that direction because you also believe this has to be aggressively weird and john and it has to be what we always wanted. We thought comedy should be on television. And you played characters Early on sunday. Yes you had this character that kept recurring called the nickname or who would come in and nickname for everybody and i was. Yes and terrible. Dame's just an idiot. Terribles air but you know he had body suit on leggings or whatever anyway anybody who puts on a bodysuit is automatically a superhero so you were the nickname and you would come in and nickname and you were great. You were pushing as hard as anybody to make sure that we were true to the idea of what we wanted to do. And then flash forward not too long. You do mister show ben stiller show i but ben stiller yes. I'm sorry you did. Ben stiller. Show i i. I have the order slightly wrong. You did ben stiller show. I where you did one of my favorite sketches of all time. You did a sketch where it was a lassie parody but instead of lassie janssen your charles. Manson and charles manson had done a bunch of interviews like in the nineties. Were he's like take this video. I'm coming action. Nice style see. And it's gonna be on. The walls hits the barrel he would do these crazy interviews with geraldo rivera. And so you just played. This kind of scruffy charles manson and then the boy would get stuck in the well and he would go running home and you had the long hair and the craziness you'd be. You can go loping home like crazy mass and then the parents would be like what is it. What is it charles. Man what is it. What is it and you'd be like this signs outside. Yeah insane see me. You can't see me. I'm invisible. That's that's what check you can take that to the bank. And they'd go. Bobby's in a well and then you lead them in at the end. They're all like boy. We're so glad you're safe bobby. And you'd be like and it's in bobby by who i think was andy dick. I wouldn't be if it weren't for charleston.

"Anything in this interview it would be. You didn't become a really funny talented person. That's the guy met in february of nineteen eighty-eight. Remember everything so clearly. You had one outfit a leather jacket with some with some fringe around it and you had a scarf and you had very specific glasses and some jeans and that was it. You didn't even own a shirt. And and i heard that you were doing a one man show in chicago and i wasn't performing at the time and i went and saw your one man show and it was called half my face as a clown and i went and watched that show. I laughed like a crazy chimpanzee. The whole time you had so many great set pieces in half my face. I did that. Show my friend tom. Genus and i seen eric. Eric gordon is a theatre actor and film actor and they allow him to act anywhere he wants. Yeah and his image shows up on film and tv but he's in a he's actually and he's great in the sandler movie. What was that. yes yes. He was great an uncut gems and then we had a piece. We had pieces that. Tom and i wrote that were a story we had stuff. That was more absurdist. This thing i did where i was. Oh god i remember very well. So i can spout off and things. I don't know which one you're thinking of. I'm thinking of the guy is just say shosh chicago big shoulders the windy city and then he started saying things that are like you've never heard.

"He put on his overalls and people said. Hey you should fire bob and colorado at this is part of their process. Now please. I've got hosts to fail. And then he would. He would work for hours repairing the damage. We had done he. I think he came in and he said off for the days of cocaine. Yes probably yeah we. It's funny 'cause lorne obviously the original cast it's was the seventies and people were doing coke and you know famously that was the environment and then our generation came along later. And all of us. You me michael greg daniels. We didn't do anything we didn't smoke. We didn't do drugs. we didn't drink. We were guys that worried about our cholesterol. And i think that what like this whole different era of saturday night live writer and it's probably gone back and forth a million times. But i met you and you and i. We both loved being silly and weird as we possibly could be and we would cackle. Like idiots and think of the wonderful sketches. We didn't get out of all that i know. We're no word on like we used to. I i know. Pm people like hear about snl. It's such a strange crucible of pressure and yes yes personality and so i guess we could go on about it but Nothing good was written between two. Am and now dynamic. No i don't think smile maybe could my goal is you know. Is that kind of genius. Who he could look like he was asleep and he had hit a be resting his head on a stage deli bag and his hand would be just quivering on a page and then in the morning someone could type it and it would be funny sketch you and i if we if neither one of us had an idea to this day i don't know a death of of solis. Depression like that. You know in the course of all that. I i learned so much i learned so much from just as most as i learned so much as well i probably learned more from the pain and the joy but i learned a lot and then flash forward to. We weren't there that long when there was a writers strike and u. n. Robert had the idea well. We can't work right now. So let's put together a show in chicago and so you guys invited me. You found me a place to live. You use found me an apartment and you said my friend has this place for you He has an apartment any as a really nice room for you and his name is remember. Jeff garland jeff garland. You said his name is jeff garland. And i said great so i drove all the way from l. A. to chicago. In one thousand nine hundred ninety three plymouth valiant. And i roll in and i get to the address and i meet the famous jeff garland. Who's not famous at the time. And he's like come on in butter. Come in putting in my little chicken and he walks me up like nine flights of steps and he shows me my room which has no window friend no air conditioning and it was the summer of eighty eight which is still one of the hottest get up lookout for the hottest summer still even with global warming. It was like impossible. Yeah and i lived in this little guantanamo cell. And but you we made this show. And i had so much fun i had more fun. I mean. i had a lot of fun doing this show. And you're hilarious in the show. I remember going on a like a double date with somebody wants. And you and i just did rifts and weird characters. The whole time and the women were completely hunting twitter. Sorry now i bet. I bet they're not. They are not trust me. Trust.

"Not sure. I will die laughing. Many i'll probably die deation. Yes yes. I can't catch my breath. Because yeah fucking making me laugh so hard doing your impersonation of the alien in the movie on my god. What was it. It was will gusset junior. Played a mughasib please. Lucas who was he said it was will goss. Oh sorry. I thought it was okay. Who were dennis quaid and lou gossett junior play aliens. Well lou gossett juniors and alien. Dennis quaid is a earth man. Enemy mine thank you and at the end. The big twist is there. These two really cool people. Bali charter the death and then at the end you find out that lou gossett junior is pregnant because he's an alien and his planet men can give and he makes this very maternal face holds his belly and i think dennis quaid helps with the delivery. And you're like i listen. There are there are things that stick in your head in life obviously shocking and horrible things that we don't want to talk about because they don't even belong in therapy frankly right therapist would say can you not in here. That's for therapy but there are things that make you laugh so hard and of course you when we were together at saturday night live and we used to get dinner around one. Am twelve thirty in the morning. And i would get my sugar rush around one thirty two It was some. And i would get really giddy and then you would just turn spin me like a top for the our would be trying to get writing done. Yeah i see giggling my fucking hair off like like deep intense every cell in my body laughing and that one where you were doing kept impersonating lou gossett junior junior and going i am with child. I'm with child. i'm with child. Well you know there's so much to talk about. There's so much. Ground to cover bob. Because i have had the good fortune of being able to talk to just about everybody. I am hard pressed to think of anybody. I know who i've known for a long time. Who's covered more ground in their career in an impressive way than you have. I'm just absolutely stunned and so happy for you With an and so it makes me all the more excited to kind of go. Back to the bob odenkirk. That met way back in the winter february of nineteen eighty eight and and go on this crazy journey where we take you to now where i just last night. I watched your movie. Nobody and you're a fucking action hero star and you're fantastic and at this point. I'm not surprised by anything anymore. If i read tomorrow that you won a nobel prize because you came up with a new way to fight auto immune diseases. That'd be like yeah bet that's about on. That's that's on par with everything else. Kind of other ways. That bob has surprised me that would that would be on par and i know that the news is coming but but i have such a clear memory of i think it's february of one thousand nine hundred eighty eight. It's very cold winter. We came to start out live but we were all of the same age. In fact people lumped us together and called us the nerds. Tom hanks had a nicer. I think that's what more is done. Call it like the fucking kindergarten. Yeah yeah north. Done wasn't thrilled with us. We were very immature in her. In every way yes remainder and we loved it. We were immature cackling idiots and we didn't know how to dress and we didn't know where to eat. We did we how to eat. We didn't we didn't know how we didn't know where the food went. Tony and he's been there for me. Do you remember what we did to the wall at saturday night. Live with the darts I'm having a hard time remember. Okay hold up. This is huge. I can't believe. I kept my job there after we did this but i wouldn't have been surprised if at least two of us had been fired. Some company san us. These kush balls were soft. Gummy balls that were about the size of a baseball and they had a netting nylon netting around them one of an eight course these companies they send things to shows and they hoped that your show will use it like the ball. Yeah on saturday night. Lives funny maybe. They'll make a sketch about our fucking and talk about how great what they've never done that. But maybe they'll change their and they said exactly the s and we opened the box because no one else is going to open it and we take out the balls and of course like good normal men we cut the nylon skins off these balls and then inside. Is this tacky. Gummy ball about the size of a baseball and one of us throws that ball at the giant white wall. In it's a it's probably sixty feet long and ryan center in rockefeller center. Great famous all conic building building. Yeah bill stone by stone.

I don't think i did yo- karoo. But they hadn't heard the podcast that's how he got pregnant. Yeah exactly. That's how i'm with child. Yeah and fuck you. You're not funny is not one of my catchphrase. Just want to put that out there. I don't know who thinks that's a catchphrase. But i'm hearing that a lot and i've we've gone. i keep combing through the past episodes. I can't find any reference. no it is. It's a catchphrase. Are you sure positive. What about the double pumping the middle finger. Fuck you. you're not funny. That might have been something they added but the catchphrase for sure. We said that. Because i can't if yeah it was like bowel. How about this one. You aged out of comedy a long time ago and catchphrase believe that a lot and i'm like when did when did we start that catchphrase. Yeah yeah don't know anyway. I'm glad we're bringing joy to somebody that's the important thing. And how are you feeling. You feeling all right. Yeah i'm cool. I mean i don't know asked me a month because that's when shit gets real. Well how many do you do. When is the due date jill. It's early. July is nice time nice for a child to have a birthday july. Yeah okay and one of them went to summer camp at chernobyl. anyway. I digress k. You aged out a long time ago. H set of comedy was. I don't know why people keep showing that that must be a popular catchphrase. Also your early. Good work is overrated. When did that become a. I swear to god. I must've said that on some podcasts. Because bus driver shout that just misunderstood. All of these is being catched friendly catch. What a wonderful way to go through life. I know it is diluted. I'm a deluded fool. I am very excited about our guest today. This special guest for me because we have a very long association and i've watched many miraculous. Thanks to Ryan Editing. This It's hard to be away from Ryan. You know I'm doing this solo myself. And he's doing that all by himself and just just a lot. here's a here's a fan. Hey Mike Lennon probably supposed to join patron patriot and not just email you directly. But I haven't had a chance to even look at Patriot or much of anything anyway. Just a quick note to tell you whatever discouragements you run into keep going. I had a difficult week after years. Almost one thousand shots tens of thousands of dollars in multiple miscarriages. My wife and I did our final. Ivf cycle and embryo transfer. Everything seemed to go well but our last baby girl didn't make it. I feel like a dumb ass because I had. I had my only child my two year old daughter so excited as I had told her sister in his name. Victoria was on the way. I probably shouldn't have said anything to her. But I was so optimistic. Things are a bit tough now. Besides my insurance lifetime fertility coverage maxed out. My marriage seems to be in a rough patch. I'm done with the IVF stuff. I can't do it anymore. I just WANNA focus on being thankful for what I have. My wife is older and resents that I won't keep trying but even the doctor says it's unlikely. Can I keep telling my family apart chasing something? Sorry for the an email but I wanted to tell you that I I got this tough news. I was devastated. Scared of what comes next filled with anxiety after praying. I went for a walk and your podcast was one of the first places I went. It genuinely made me feel better and gave me more perspective or some perspective so whatever you want to keep doing what you do man because it does matter and it makes a difference. Thank you rob. You're gonNA give me a little choked up rob Don't even know what to say. Boy Does that. Doesn't that just put things into perspective? Talk about perspective. You'll have tough days. You'll have stuff going on and then when you read that you're like okay. I love when people reach out. I love when they are vulnerable level. My guests are vulnerable. I like when people just are human and they act human and maybe at the end of the day when this is all over will be more human more humane more loving forgiving accepting in not being able to touch your friends and give them a hug or just hang out and have laughs. We take things for granted. And I'm not preaching. I'm just saying I'm figuring this out what you have. What is important to you? What's important to you is right in front of you and always will be. It's not those intangibles of You know you WANNA be this. She wanted to that. I want to be a rock star. I want if I had this bigger house if I had. It's really telling it you've heard it from so many people rich poor. If you have love you have connection you have got it all. "Yeah you're right and then he goes fuck you then. What do you do? But that's the problem. Don't include me. Just pretend fucking means. I'm not going to tell that's him saying fuck you. I'm going to tell them you're here. That's right you know what scares me is like not scares me but I get nervous watching it when I you. I feel like your parts of difficult because you're always on your toes plan Saul Plan. It's just there's so many lines I do. That always scares me as an actor. You always talk about lines on this podcast. Yes because especially your heart is the first time and breaking bad when you first got those four episodes and you couldn't do the fourth one because you had you had How I met your mother and then the fourth one they hired Mike a Judge Jonathan Up to do that story right created. That cares created that character so he owes you ten percent is money so go him. What I'm saying is the first thing you said in this interview. I saw but you never finished it. You go and they'd all these lines on my other. GonNa cut him because it's comedy. Whatever did they cut him. They didn't cut a fucking thing. They cut one word they didn't cut. They changed one word. They literally I was like I wasn't even going to memorize it. Because you know comedy I mean comedy gets cut down into nothing or what you need. That's it and I also hadn't read closely enough to see what was going on. And all that dialogue. I kind of summarized it in my head. Like he's telling them I'll be your lawyer and I'm a liar and all this shit and you could just cut it down to those lines you know. And then I got the rewrites. I got the blue pages which was about four days before we were shooting and how much dialogue was say. It was a good solid two pages pages of dialogue. Maybe it was a page and a half solid but you are nervous. I was a little nervous. You are nervous. Yeah there's a lot. It was more dialogue and there was more than that but at one point there was a page and a half run of just me talking and you always have your my biggest fear mega faster basketball seeing that in comedy. I've rarely seen a comedy script. That was one person talking for a patient. God it's usually back and forth and stuff so so one word was changed and Dug in and I had no tools to learn that except what I think what I learned from writing which is to break it down to the story at the core of it that I'm telling the bullet points of that and then build back out from there. Do you write the lines down. Does it help you memorize digital do so? Say what I know is on the page. Now I've done this for a couple years now and I'm better at it and one thing that's true and I think. See what you think about this but usually about two weeks into a season that my brain just starts getting better at this. It's just a bit of muscle in your brand yourself. A break you do it the better you quicker you get at. You HAVE AMAZING. So the first episode. Give yourself a break. You might be right and once you get going. It's going to get back get easier. Yeah confidence in myself to do this now. But on one side of the one side of the script is the specific words and phrases doing the highlighting points as I go the things that I think matter and on the other side of the script is the emotions and maybe the subtext highlighting points mean like Like words like a word that sticks out as I go like that really stand out to me that give me those breaks. So that that you're fixing it and the other side is the undercurrent of emotion or Thrust of what I'm saying the kind of more general drive of the slit. Your fucking you over. Yeah and a lot of times saul in particular scene with salty's conning someone so his words are a diversion in some weird way or kind of subterfuge in on the right side. Ob what that subterfuges is actually meant to do. You know and And that and then and then it's just working at the same record the other person's side or you could deliver give a space and I'm pretty good at that in the car or the car because I mean if I'm driving it's it's distracting but We do a lot of rehearsal on Sol and In fact wow in Albuquerque The cast we share a house. I heard about that and he worked racy Horn. Patrick Fabian When he's in town Josh feed them Isn't it your House that you bought? Yeah my wife and I bought a house but before that we rented a house together the three of us. Ray Patrick and I've never heard of that. The people on the last thing people want to do when they work together. I did small but when I do other shows I love them. I love you fuck off. Well I mean going home with these people I know but I know it. It's better than being alone out there. I think we all feel that way. That's my whole life. Great. Leave each other alone too. You know and we're not in every scene together and And I leave trauma. I come home as much as possible so you don't. I love getting home and somebody's Patrick especially will make dinner for everybody an energy. There's going hiking. Let's go because you know what if you're alone Bob. You'd probably get your head a little won't you? Yeah I would get my. I go home alone. I'm alone what am I GONNA do? Maybe I should learn my lines. Maybe she do is almost pressure. You're like yeah too much now. Isn't energy someone's cooking. Someone catching this. Yeah Oh yeah there's county that's why I don't like being alone. I always like people around. Well that's good is perfectly fine. I think he should be able to be. Yeah all as long as I'm leaning. Or yeah organizing. I'm pretty good at being alone are you? Uh-huh how long can you be alone a long time now with a printer? Obviously I was stabbed me allows bloated walk out of there. Tell me this. Tell me that Vince Gilligan. When they write the lines that those are the lines. They don't change ammonia. I try not to change a single word. I mean changing your dialogue. When you're about to shoot. Oh yeah they don't change it see. That's a blessing. There's nothing worse than going about this. I've never experienced people fuck off. I can't do it. I just can't do it this. It's crazy to me shows where they show up on the day of shooting and go through it that scene. Here's a new scene. No no we don't do anything remotely like We have the scene in stone five days before sometimes three days before oftentimes a week and a half before and Wendy Rehearse on the day Ono we rehearse all leading up to wait and we wait a few reels. You were hurt for two weeks. I guess as soon as we have a script I want it We start rehearsing if I have a big scene Start Rehearsing that day. If it's two weeks away I live in a House with Patrick and Ray and who Josh. Maybe and Mando comes over and banks leaving come over and run and we run the scene Seeing that I'm in or maybe I'll run with you that you're we rehearsed the shit out of that show and then if I can go to the fuck and set when they're not there walk around and I'll do the scene dude. I love that that's sort of what I would probably. That's done that. Show is because we only have nine days to shoot an episode and to shoot that kind of dialogue heavy show fifty pages fifty five pages in nine days. You can't do it if people show up. And don't know their lines and the other reason we need to learn our lines is they matter Like literally there'll be some little weird thing buried in the middle of your line. That looks like nothing but then a year later is like humber when he said this small thing. That's what killed him every word. Almost everywhere occasionally. I'll call them. Especially if there's comedy with my character Sometimes has seen that are almost pure comedy and then they have a lot of flexibility there. They also give me a lot of Room to they'll they'll come to them. This is clearly a funny thing. Can I do this? And this. And they'll give me a lot of freedom. Most of what's written in better call Saul and it was true. Breaking bad is like like no no. That's that word for reasons. Other were doesn't because you don't know because three weeks from now you're going to script and you'll see that because he said it that way it shows that he doesn't really know who he's talking to and he doesn't really know what's going on and if you said it the other way then it wouldn't be the same meaning and so they've thought about every way ahead of time now but you said you need the time to learn lines but you're talking about rehearsing to before an episode but aren't you going right into another episode even even at the end of the season when they get backed up on writing. You're still gonNA. You're still going to get that script five days days but you're still shooting the other ones. Yeah so during the day when you already know that you'll run it. Yeah he'll do that you'll get. There's not a lot of times you're exhausted. You're you're working overtime you're exhausted. You're working hit a wall where you're like yes. I think ever season in the first season first of all I was in every scene except for one episode. I wasn't in at all but in every other thing I was in every scene. It was fucking nuts. Said you complain I listen. I approached this whole thing like oh I guess I'll just have more lines the same job acting. I'M NOT GONNA pretend it's different and I was deluding myself a little bit compartmentalizing and deluding myself but Then you know it was just a fuck load of of words and I just dug in and got to it and got to it and gave it my all and they kept pushing my call and people don't know what that means but if he has to a like working later in the night so the next day they push from eight to nine. Am To ten am and they just kept pushing my call like the and they also say will you basically means you're not getting enough sleep and you also don't have time to rehearse which I said we do and I was used to doing for breaking bad and wanted to carry on and better ride and twelve hour days to twelve hour. Fourteen hour days. You're twelve round. Turnarounds called the turnaround. Sometimes they'd say hey. Do you mind if we four shoe. So the crew doesn't have to say you might force you demand with before she demanded reports you and I would sign it every time. I was so thankful that we were making this show and I didn't want anyone to have any problems because a me. Yeah Yeah I'll just. I'll just work Carter. I kept asking the.

The new shows to watch and the ones to skip
"As usual we wrap things up with the critics corner this week's new arrivals include undone on Amazon unbelievable on Net flicks and American Horror Story Nineteen eighty-four on FX Dan. What's cooking well? I if I had not seen American Horror Story Nineteen eighty-four as if I have said many times I'm looking forward to watching the first few episodes and quitting as usual but I can't tell you if it's better or worse than usual fortunately though there are actually a lot of things things to watch this week and really the main new releases are all pretty good to very good. Unbelievable is Netflix exes this I would say it is complementary to mind hunter. It is to some degree. It's the story of two detectives played by Merit Weaver in Toni Collette investigating a serial rape case. There's also a story line involving Caitlyn deavere as one of the victims potentially of the same serial rapist. Maybe maybe not it is intense and it sounds like it is unpleasant to watch or could could be unpleasant to watch. It is less wallowing than it could be. I would say that the creators Suzanne grants who wrote Erin Brockovich among other things is the primary creator along with a let Waldman and Michael Chaban and it has a really good grasp of tone. It never goes to dark. It has is very good insight into the criminal investigative process what works what doesn't sometimes it's even funny and that has a lot to do with the fact that Moore Weaver in Tony any clutter just wonderful together. It's based on a Pulitzer Prize winning propublica article and I could honestly watch multiple seasons of this or up Toni Collette Leadin Merit Weaver being awesome Caitlyn deavere also awesome. I thought the eighth episode of the eighth. Maybe is a drop in quality. Maybe a little bit more contrived and conventional conventional than the first seven but it's an impressive piece of economical and powerful storytelling then undone which sounds like it should be right. They're also alphabetically which is very important comes from a Raphael Bob Wax Bergen keep purdy who have worked together on Bo Jack Horseman on Netflix. This one is on an Amazon and it is a twisty turny wrote a scoped story about a young woman who becomes unstuck in time and reality after a car the accident and her father voiced by Bob Odenkirk actually played by Bob Odenkirk because that's how wrote a scope works tells her that she has the power to help. nope basically solve the mystery of his death or murder. Main character is played by Rosa Salazar who people will know maybe from alita battle angel or for man seeking woman. She's she's very good. It is not as funny or Quirky as Beau Jack Horsemen but is is visually magnificent the the the rotor scoping technology and the work done by director his Co.. Housing is is stunning to look at. I didn't care about the murder mystery really at all but I love watching this this is this is such a beautiful show to watch and sometimes it's funny. Sometimes it has some big thoughts in its mind. It's Jerry Interesting Are you gonNa Watch either of those two this weekend direction. I actually just started binging elites. I'm probably going to finish that and then I'm hopefully to watch some baseball this weekend. I'm hopefully going to sit out by the pool. That all sounds good if you need a little bit more TV I can also to some degree. Recommend showtimes murderer on the by you. Showtime is getting into the same true. Crime miniseries extended storytelling market that netflix dominated that obviously Amazon has done some. I'm working. A bunch of folks have done it. It's about the investigation into the deaths of young women in a single Louisiana small town. It is full of rather rather mind boggling details miscarriages of justice. It is absolutely difficult to watch. It's a Lotta graphic. Talk about you know people selling their bodies is selling their souls and smoking crack with their parents but it is you're trying to do right there. It doesn't look like it's that exciting small town so apparently you gotta do what you gotTa do it is harrowing but sometimes gripping and mind boggling to watch a lot of pretty good TV to watch this weekend. I would say so there. You

"Breaking bad news breaking bad news is also kind of first look thing that they released over over the weekend they released their like a kind of a teaser trailer short teaser trailer number one confirming that there will be a breaking bad movie it's only been rumored up until this point but the releases little teaser trailer they released the name of the movie called El Camino a breaking bad movie we know that it's going to be centered around Aaron Paul's character Jesse Pinkman of there's not a prequel it's not a prequel apparently it's going to be what happened to Jesse Pinkman after the breaking bad series which doesn't mean there can't be flashbacks to take you back in a land because that would be a good way of getting Bryan Cranston into the whole thing one of the great actors anywhere absolutely we know that Bob Odenkirk is in it because he spilled the beans about a week ago and said that movie was made but now we also know that it's going to be on Netflix on October eleventh for couple weeks and then it's going to move over to the AMC network were breaking bad up again there's a lot of licensing money out there they licensing the math at all you can get some actually was a math I don't think maybe when you go to the concession stand you get like milk duds about math pock corn ju ju be back math your use braille sprinkled

You know, what I mean that cast was magical sort of like the short lived Dana Carvey show on ABC and lasts longer. Goodness. Every corral. Okay. Bob Odenkirk was in the Dana Carvey show. I'm sorry. Using examples of casts of certain shows that every one of them ends up to be a giant star freak freaks and geeks out. Whole whole cast. Well. Think about my so called life. That's another show that you know, very had a very short run. But had

Tim Allen Breaks His Silence on Roseanne Barr's Firing: 'She's Just Not That Person'
"That if the deal goes through where disney buys fox that the simpsons could be displaced because disney wouldn't want somebody else's animation on their on their network that can't be right can it it's not actually as it turns out we're in the middle of the television critics association tour we're all the networks present you schedules shoes two television critics Kayla Cobb is out there right now she's actually jump into the day but yesterday was the day and of. Course they're right up front right at the beginning about the whole merger and said basically not much is going. To, change at least that's the plan right now in terms. Of Disney taking over FOX, referring to it as a quote unquote FOX which is not an official name. But that's what they're going with the moment and. They said that programs like. The Simpsons will most likely continue on FOX because. It's such. A part of a brand they don't wanna change, too much if I was. To speculate beyond what they said the big thing that most likely will happen is you have this forthcoming Disney video on demand service and you'll probably see things like the Simpsons that ever really, huge back? Catalogue of episodes at going over to that so you'll be able to watch the old episodes. There instead of potentially things like app asks, plaster affects now But in terms of watching it off the channel I think. You'll be fine you won't have. To change too much good very good news looking. Very forward to Monday better call Saul the season premiere I have to say I love breaking bad and when Bob Odenkirk and saw showed up on that show I'm like this so so serious he's just this foil. And I don't know if it fits and now I ended up liking better call Saul better than breaking bad I, have, to agree with you completely I cannot. Believe it but it the show is wonderful it's phenomenal it's a beautiful show it's a slow show but the way. That I I was talking to somebody about it the other day around the office is it's purposeful, there's a lot of shows. That have Dallas the age of peak TV have, just very long targeted looks. But they don't really feel like anything they, feel like they're supposed to be saying something everything, is better call solve needs. Something and without spoiling, anything I've actually seen, the first couple of episodes of the next season and it's. As good as. Ever if not. Better breaking bad fans, are gonna freak out about the things that happened throughout the course the episodes again no spoilers and in particular It isn't exactly but she has been. Sleeping, on. Race seahorn plays Female opposite, Amish show but if this season does not, win her an EMMY just based. On the episodes I've seen alone there is no. Justice with oil she started out slow in my book to boys, she has a very deadpan delivery and I'm not really a fan and then she totally grew. On, me to wear just blossomed in just such, a fantastic character yeah there were a if you watch the show there. Was some big events. That happened to the end of last season a major, character died she her character ended up in this awful car accident and if, they don't let go of that in the first couple of episodes they deal with it and delve, into it and the emotional weight of all that at in particular a lot of. It is. On her on her character? And it's beautiful heartbreaking work it's wonderful where did she come. From I don't know? That I'd ever, seen her in anything else anything before. The show I'm usually pretty. Good at noticing actors and actresses like that but I, never saw her before she came out of nowhere and she's really good she, was comedian she sort of bounced around for a while she was with me the wooden coming show, a couple of years she was on a show called I'm with her head cases. And other. Things but like you said? This was something where she popped onto better call Saul and. Suddenly completely blossomed wonderful Myself in aluminum foil and one of those blankets and watch the upcoming By, far the best for fans of twenty, four it may be coming, back but it may be coming back twice explain This is from the FOX TV a day it seems like they're not. Totally clear on what they, wanna do other than, the fact that. They love twenty four and wanna keep making it forever whether it involves keep yourself they're not right now there's two ideas one of them is. A twenty four prequel that would focus on Jack Bauer at what brought him up cheerio at the beginning of twenty four and then the other one which I think is actually. More interesting and much weirder is a legal drama in the style, of twenty, four and in the world of twenty, four so where you've had Jack Bauer and then in twenty four legacy, Corey Hawkins character kind of jumping. Around the world inciting people this way to follow the legal reprecussions of all those things or at least that's the idea and that's almost weird enough to work with the gimmicks still be there that each episode each one hour episode is? One hour of twenty four, hour day or are they scrapping that. Idea I don't know but my guess is they would keep it just because I remember them talking about twenty. Four legacy when that came, out and they felt like that was such a part of the DNA of the series that they really can't lose that conceit right so I think. That will remain integral going forward I always thought to make that, gimmick realistic, let's say you sleep six or seven, hours out of the day six or seven episodes should just be your, main character sleeping when that's he. Funny one hundred percent I mean you can watch big brother I love that show and I'm not caught up so what will happen to Julie Chen if something happens to les Moonves says By the way. Someone has, texted us and said Bill. And the decider which is of course Alexander who. Works for decider dot com it said? That Colbert definitely did name moon van I The. Name that's more interesting if he, says, wow. Fascinating Tim Allen has been on the news in the news, lately Yesterday he was? Kind of defending Roseanne Barr talking, about, it. Did you get a chance to hear any of his quotes I did we. Wrote it up for the site a little bit you know Keeps being upfront again this is stuff from TC a. They're talking about last man standing which is bumping from ABC over to FOX they talked. A, little bit about how the show will change, or now that's on, FOX basically they're not gonna come right out and say he's a Trump supporter. But he's definitely going to be conservative as he was. Previously on the show they also talked, about how they're pickup of last man standing was specifically because. Of the success whereas which. Led, it to his conversation where he talked about I know Roseanne. My daughter. Well she. Sets weird things about her being the most diverse person. He does Doesn't really. Make sense And and he also, said some pretty frankly without getting around without it where things for older comedians about who's, making, up, these doubt, comedy. Benthic PC culture etc so it, wasn't anything too shocking particularly if you're installing to knowledge clear in the. Past couple of years but he also do outright, come out and say I support what Roseanne said about Valerie Jarrett. Or anything like that thank God for FOX footy didn't sticking with the fact that his show got cancelled because he is a. Fan of Donald Trump's. He's sticking by that that's so nice Oh yeah It was worth a rating stellar for. That show that's what. Confuses, me The ratings were very good. It was, I believe in number two comedy on TV at. The, time but, frankly in terms, of broadcast, TV ratings are. Not great overall you know you. Have Keeble, you're streaming you're of everything differentiating where people, are watching TV so frankly even if you had a really. Popular comedy that doesn't mean that it was right for ABC going forward and. ABC is changing a lot of its programming going into the, new season they're changing both. The drama and the comedy side FOX's. Well pivoting away from one camera comedy is. Back to, three camera comedies so there's a lot of changes going on and honestly I, would point more towards overall network things rather than anybody's particular political leanings tell Tim Allen that. We already know that We're, done with you on that people like you I I, mean it was, funny but it's kind of the same delivery of what he's. Doing. Sure last man, standing I've watched a couple. Episodes it's. Okay I just don't understand the. Big I'm baffled by, it but it has been very, popular but, I'm I'm confused by. Myself. Alex great to talk to. You and, again if you had to pick something big to watch this, week it's probably better call Saul right over on. AMC, yeah. Absolutely if you're not caught, up go into the, season it's all on Netflix right. Now leading fourth, season which premieres on. Monday it's. Fantastic you won't regret. It. Good and preachers getting very weird and. Dark so, weird, dark, Betty Buckley jump on. Board I'm. Sorry I love that. Show Basically turn. Your. TV on AMC and never. Turn it, off that's the way it'd be it all right well thanks, Alex appreciate it have a great weekend it's Alexander's. From, decider. Dot com.
Neil Diamond Thanks Colorado Firefighters With Private Concert
"Conversation so, I there weren't enough Bartelson James jokes like he was disposed person for. The wine coolers back in the day I was assuming I was assuming they'd comes straight out with that right at the beginning. It was funny It is funny the comedy central roast the only problem I have is that, they'll they'll, diversify the day to to get as many different types, of people up there actors others and they had Dresen Joseph Gordon Levitt the MC I it's getting. To a point where you could tell all. Of their stuff is written by somebody else I think, that's why I like Nikki Glaser it always feels even if somebody else wrote her. Material she owns it and she makes it personal and you think it's, from her voice a lot of the times you get up there like Joseph Gordon Levitt you could tell he just reading something that. Some writers, wrote him about Bruce well did do a, movie with movie, loopers with, them and I I. Got the sense? That they were friends but you know for example Chicago comedian Lil rel. How was there And except for watching Bruce Willis movies, admitted on the day that he has zero connection to this whole thing human there were some people up there it's like why even. Their comedy, central star Edward Norton was on the desk, and he was, kind of, funny but like why.
