"Harassed. Do you think that you will get some white kids to play basketball with Negro kids? I think so. I don't see why now. My kids are playing with white kids and nobody's got her yet. And although Russell had close bonds with all his teammates, white and black, that closeness did not extend to the city of Boston. And the problems began the first time he and his wife visited the city. They land in Boston and they're in a cabin and they're heading toward the Boston garden. And the cab driver starts lecturing them about how to act, how to behave. What people expect out of athletes at this time. Very sort of patriarchal and really rooted in a kind of racial hierarchy at the same time. And Russell immediately resents it immediately bristles. Even as his star rose, Russell took note of every insult, whether it was his home and reading being vandalized when he was away, or a condescending question from a local sportswriter. Russell was also bitter, hometown fans didn't seem to show him the same love as white teammates like bob cousy. And the fact that the Celtics, a championship team increasingly made up of black players, still couldn't draw the same crowds as the all white bruins. Because of these slights, or in spite of them, Russell for years refused to participate in the rituals of sports stardom. He famously did not sign autographs, and for more than four decades refused to accept a ring from the basketball Hall of Fame. Russell did not want to be worshiped or commodified. As he said in an interview for ESPN classic, he wanted respect. There's a difference between being proud and having pride. They may not like you, but they have to respect you. And that's more important is far more important

"In Boston. It's the NBA Finals that Bill Russell number 6 brilliantly spearheading the Celtics before a capacity crown of 14,000. From 1957 to 69, the Celtics won 11 titles, including 8 straight. There were great players like bob cousy, Tom heinsohn, Sam and Casey Jones, and so many others, but none like Russell. He was the bridge to all 11 championships, a competitor so fierce. He'd often throw up before games. Success, though, couldn't hide a difficult relationship with the city where he played. Russell didn't trust some of Boston's white fans who cheer the winning, but then complain the team had too many black players. In a Boston Globe documentary, former teammate Tom heinsohn remembered how the Boston suburb of reading, where Russell lived, held a dinner to honor him. He was so taken aback that he broke down and started to cry and he said that he wished he could live in reading for the rest of his life. But not long after people broke into Russell's house, destroyed trophies and defecated in his bed. His relationship to those outside the Celtics locker room became chilly. He got a reputation for being surly. He refused to sign autographs. On the other hand, Russell loved the Celtics and the progressive white people who ran the franchise. During the dynasty years, the Celtics became the first NBA team to have an all black starting lineup. And in 1966, more history, as heard in this NBA TV documentary. Here he is, the new coach of the solids, the best of you. When legendary head coach red auerbach retired, he named Russell to take his place, the first black head coach in the NBA. It was historic, but Bill Russell said he didn't care. He simply believed he was the best man for the job, although a reporter questioned that at a press conference after the announcement. The first

"What time is it in the podcast? I'm making more time status, right? I was bummed out that Steph was kind of going heal on the crowd in taunting a little bit, the crowd in Boston because it just seemed not so much out of character. But obviously he had worked himself up into some frenzy because a couple of Talking Heads on TV said whatever they said, which is, if you're still looking for motivation in the finals, come on. But I thought it was ridiculous because for two reasons. One, he's the most universally loved and brave flair. There is the rightly. So and it's funny him coming to Boston because there was no question over the last decade. Celtics fans are not, who's the most popular player? Outside the Celtics in New England and in Boston in a lot of cities, obviously. How many little kids are wearing? Steph jerseys. You know, obviously my son was a big step fan. And that was one thing. Yeah. One of the biggest things for me in this rung and it really helped put a lot of stuff I hate in perspective. But it did in a lot of ways was seeing people say, oh, it was great. You're back in the finals. I was saying it completely through my son's eyes. Who is ten? And living it through him and dying on after game 5 Milwaukee, we walked home, there were tears. There were no words. You feel like the worst father in the world. Like, what have I done to myself? He was just miserable after game 5. He went upstairs and went to bed like no nothing. There was no consolation I had nothing. But seeing it through his eyes, it was not only amazing his father, but it also was a reminder to me as the say it with me, Adam. Long time. Look, I kept it out of the coffee for a reason. By the way, why isn't that a T-shirt? Like max max, and I was making t-shirts every time he opens his mouth. That's true. Yeah, we can't hear. Why not? The longtime voice, you get a picture of me with a cane and a big one of those hearing aid things. You need a podcast on the CL and S media network. That's probably true. So take it through his eyes. That's what we need another self exposure. That's what we need more content. More people talking and nobody listens. Seeing it to the eyes of a ten year old reminded me as the longtime voice of the Celtics that the fan base turns over that the Celtics hadn't been in the we all remember most of us listening to this have strong memories of O 8 in 2010. I was there for good mistake. I have more memories of that because I was courtside as opposed to being up at the top of the building. I remember everything. But they have not been in the finals in my son's lifetime. Okay? I know he's only ten, but that you've been fan base turns over. And that's why to see for Garnett day, latencies in the playoffs to see not the first came here. You'd have to check coming back. And occasionally, mister Russell would come back. And you know, bob cousy would be around you and see the legend now, Eddie house comes back and perk comes back and big baby, you know, when.

"Really interesting to see how they match up. I just want to see Tatum, take his game to another level, null and one of the top 5 players in the league and play like in this one. This is what his ass was showcase, right? This is all what he won. When the self is drafted him, you want to be a star or this is a chance to be a star to bring that legacy of legacy back to Boston to be one of all time greats to go down as a legend. We never have to buy a drink again in this town. And this is his opportunity. Now it could be the first of many, but you can't look at it like that. I'm breathing 20, but the number we were Dan Marino went to a Super Bowl, his rookie year. And secondly, I want to say, second year, and I realized I only lost old damn real will be that. You never went back. So many some guys get one chance to Chris Paul. You're one shot. I'm not saying if we lose their losers or anything like that, but take full advantage of this opportunity. You might not ever happen to no promise. Remember, everybody thought Milwaukee was all geared up to make a return to the washingtons, both geared up, made off season moon, signings, or all that. The return, everybody thought, oh, that's going to be a rematch. They're the top two teams in the league. Neither of them remain for the Conference Finals. Right? So this is not fun. That's why I thought this series was so important because what you have to do is you have to understand that you can continue to get oriented to relax. You can't say, let's get a next year. You know what? Next year, everybody's back. Charlotte, Brooklyn, real walking. You know, all these teams, Miami's gonna be tackled, you're competing against all 32, all 29 are the teams again. Everybody's coming. This is season with a fresh start. Cleveland is going to be different different. You know what I'm saying? Like all these teams and you're literally back in the same thing, want to pitch into the week. We are pretty manageable now that you and another team, or damn it, you win three other teams. You know, gotta take advantage of that. Because it might not happen again. You don't know what team is going to emerge in Atlanta, what's going to happen in Philly is Brooklyn with yourself together, like all these questions, right? All these teams are trying to be pride and for self are now. So enjoy the process and play your ass off in these files and try to get a chip because these opportunities are not problems. We don't know what's going to happen. Everyone knows what's going to happen with chemistry. You don't know. You can make the social ad and oh, they're the favorites. They were still always going to look at the books. They lost a second best player. I'm telling my guys, listen. This is, you know, this is not promised. Colby didn't go to the finals every year. Jordan is going to find this is not promised. The greats do generally do return to have second and third or fourth chances. LeBron's and the weight of all, but you have to take advantage of this man. I thought they took advantage of the opportunity that they had this year. They had lost in Miami. And that band he tuned, with a bunch of banged up guys, old guys, PJ taco would have made the finals over a young talented self esteem. That'd have been hard, I think with money felt family watch. That that team be jaw, that team is the same in the bubble. Miami was a little bit probably a little bit mortality Gordon drive to get a little bit more Tyler here almost feeling himself in that series. Duncan Robertson was flashing three, but you look at that Miami team, the shelter would have been kicking in so we lost that to four times. Including two at home, like what? So it was a fortune for them, but they were able to take advantage of that. Now don't let the philosophy confer final manage or not into the garden. We actually the big gold ball. We got the silver ball, that's real nice, the bob cousy award. Much love to bob. You know, you can put that up in a case somewhere. What they're trying to go up at Larry O'Brien, and if you're Tatum, you're Brown, you tell your guys like listen. It's my promise when you'll get back to it. Let's take a minute. That coaching philosophy from coach DOCA, I think, is very vital for them to make this strong NBA Finals run for sure. There are no moral victories at this point. Yes, you made it over the hump, but now it's time to win the big one. But before we move on, we have to always give love to better line AG. The number one source for all your betting really needs. If you didn't bet on any of the Conference Finals champion series really, you should be doing that now that online AG has the number one odds news and sports developments, including this year's playoffs, MLB scores, fights, and even the next NFL NL future. Better on as you're considered source for poker games, casino games. If you haven't used that code already, it's still valid, CL and S 50, you'll get that 50% welcome bonus on your first department, but deposit. Bet online are where the games begin. Looking forward to this series, obviously they're playing a very talented Golden State team. Boston is the only team with a winning record against this team under Steve Kerr when they were 9 and 7. So what do you think these Celtics need to do to really prepare for this NBA Finals? First thing you gotta do is get healthy. Make sure these couple days between the start of the series and the end of the last one that rob Williams, you do nothing basketball related and everything treatment wise to get your body right because they're gonna need you. Al Horford, you know, give him a little early birthday present and just have him just warp on his conditioning because Al's the one guy that I worry the most about with the Celtics in terms of over putting too much on his play, but he played, I think nor for 45 minutes in game 7. So don't expect him to play nearly as much, but figuring out how to just really make sure those guys are taken care of and doing what they need to do. But this is going to be a great series. I mean, Golden State is a blueprint that Boston has been working for for years. You look at how that goes to state team was constructed. You had young draft picks that you guide and you mold and you develop and then lo and behold, you got Steph Curry, Klay Thompson. Boston, you did something similar in terms of jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum's growth, a very similar. So those are some of the key factors that I think will come into play as far as who wins this series or not. But it's going to be a good series. I mean, if your goal in the state is almost like looking at yourself from like 5, 6 years ago, young pups don't know what the hell they getting into, but damn it, they ready to scrap. They don't know how it's going to play out, but they ready to go. And Golden State, it'll be interesting to see how the Golden State Warriors of now look against the Boston Celtics of now who look a lot like the Boston or the boldest State Warriors of the past. With Steph and clay were just getting started. So it's going to be a good series. I've absolutely zero doubts about that. Gary, how do they prepare? Hey, Gary. No worse. I think that they have to be extremely sound offensively. I think defensively is where the series is.

"Did happen. But nothing happens in a vacuum. And we have to remember, this is march, 1962, John Glenn is just orbited the earth ten days before. And we are in the heart of doctor king's black freedom struggle. The modern civil rights movement. And so this hundred point thunderbolt symbolically blows apart the quota that the owners had limiting opportunities for black players. Initially, to one or two per team and at this .3 or four, the Philadelphia warriors had three black players at that time, guy Rogers will Chamberlain and Al adults. And will statement that whole season when he averaged 50 points a game against the best white players in this country did the same thing. Symbolically, it said, this league will not be a white man's enclave anymore. It's fascinating because I don't think any of us consider that aspect of it. We don't think of this as a moment in the civil rights movement or even within the smaller worlds of sports civil rights movement. That it has that kind of impact is really fascinating. I'm sure there's much more about that as well in your book, Gary. Well, there is. There is, and I'm in love with history. I recently more recently did a book on bob cousy and Bill Russell and koozies, racial regrets that as the captain of the spell, the white captain from 1957 to 63 as teammates with Russell, he didn't stand up in publicly publicly defend Russell against the racism he was facing in Boston and around the league. Nothing happens in a vacuum, now. And this didn't happen in a vacuum either. This is not to say that wilt was a civil rights activist. Bill Russell was a civil rights activist. He was leading marches, civil rights marches, the Boston common. He was making statements about the quota. He was out front for sure. Wilt would later call himself the world's tallest Republican. But what he did by aggressively and unapologetically and flagrantly being the dipper was make a statement. I will not be hemmed in. I will not be diminished by prejudice by racism. Turning back to the basketball for a moment here and just the achievement that night, nobody goes into a game, I don't think saying I'm going to score 50 or score 80. Like these things happen organically to an extent. But there is always some point in the game when a great player sees that something is in reach and says, might as well go for it. Do we know when in the course of that game will realized there was something historical and special and incredible within his grasp and was he at some point consciously going for it? Well, as long as we're going to enter the time machine, we go back to Hershey arena and there's not a big board above the court where you look up and says big fellow. Never 13 77 points. How many fouls and so forth? No, they were lucky to have any scoreboard. It was a little metallic scoreboard used for hockey the Hershey bears hockey team played there. But if he couldn't see the possibility of making history will hurt it with about 7 and a half minutes to laugh, left in the game..

"Because even if there's going to be a .30 years from now in Jordan, we'll just get annihilated in any greatest arguments. Well, the only 15 years, guys that were playing 40 years, we got LeBron James junior's 62. He's still playing no way to even compare. What the thing is is that what people need to do though is that there's this tendency to take a guy now and move him back through time. You know, like take LeBron now and put him back to 1966 and be like, there's no way anybody can't do it. But you can't do it. You have to take him back to 1966 and then have him be born in the early 40s. And you have to have him go through the experiences he would have had in the 40s. The fact that he would have not played the war canvas shoes. And that people would have been like, maybe you should smoke cigarettes to stay thin. And the fact that, you know, it's like all of these things that maybe you wouldn't have played on a hoop with a rim or with a net for the rim, we hope or without a net, until high school, like all of these things that the way travel used to be. I think I've told you this before. I read this book, it's like about the relationship between bob cousy and Bill Russell. Yeah. And one of the things that discusses written by this historian, my bookshelf over here. It's like a Gary Palmer. And like, okay, so bob cousy is the first leader of the NBA players union. And it lists what their demands were. And it's things like, you can't be made to write a train for more than 36 consecutive hours. And it's like, it's like, you have to have $9 for food if you're on the road for a week. I mean, I'm kind of just paraphrasing this. No, but one of them. Yeah, you can't play it 13 preseason games in the span of 16 days. Yeah. The thing there request that they have, it's almost seems like that would be like, it's like what any kind of coach would be fired for making people do in practice with what their day to today life, you know? So that really that really shortened careers. I mean, you know, it's like, the people always want to say things that they take a guy like, oh, they look back on Pete maravich or whatever, and they'd be like, well, can we put them in the day's modern game? They can shoot threes now. It's more wide open. You know, I think that's like, that's true. That's an advantage he would have, but it's not nearly as much as the disadvantage of modern player would have going back in time. Right. So I always think the way to do this comparing guys and errors is you have to compare the distance between them and their peers at the time. That is the key. It is not how you how their size or physicality or any of these things that changes. It's how much better they were than everyone else who was playing in the given moment that they were at their best. It'd be interesting if sports became like music. Where it was like absolutely conceivable for somebody like 28 years in their career to still have some sort of valuable contribution. As a player. And in music, it doesn't even happen that often, right? But if you went and saw Pearl Jam play right now and they've been together 30 plus years, it would still be really good. You would have a good time at the show. If you saw some athlete playing their sport, 30 years into that sport, you wouldn't have as good of a time. That's why we have like the retired games and the stuff like that. But there are some outliers of music, but for the most part, it's usually like a decade. It's like 5 to ten years where they peak. It's very rare you see the person who.

Looking at the beautiful skyline friend said to me this is the beauty of chicago the brilliance of it and i agreed with him but then i wondered how many people died this weekend. How many people got shot. It turned out to be jost fifty-six shot and nine killed in the sad part. Eric was it. I realize that was a good weekend for chicago. The duality of chicago is that brilliant minds have always lived there that most people are warm open hearted generous spark capable and accomplished. Our universities are great. Our architecture is dramatic. The neighborhoods are great. The culture is fantastic. And yet and yet it's become an unlivable Greatly miss governed place so ads. Chicago goes so go all of our nation's great cities in my view and so goes our nation in the end. So i it's not feasible to ignore the plight of cities and all of the cities in our country. "Still only nine teams. There were twelve teams and sixty seven. Fourteen thousand nine hundred sixty eight also. There were no black players in the nba or the cia predecessor until nineteen fifty so four years into the league history and even then there was a belief among black players. Then that there was a four man quota per team that you were going to have more than four black players on a on a team so you also didn't have a fully integrated fully staffed up for a better term league. Not all the best talent was there. And i haven't done the math on this jack but i mean the percentage of white players who made the top fifty team. It's pretty high especially from that nineteen forty-six to say nineteen sixties group up to nineteen seventy. So it's it's it's necessarily skewed. And i think we should recognize that women reassessing every twenty five years or so. I think that comes up in in baseball. That jay ruth you know. His singular achievements did. Not you know. He didn't play against any african american player. At the same time. I totally agree with you. There is an argument. also that For example let's take bob cousy. If any of our young viewers any of your young fans would watch old films of coups coming up and do it his dribbling saying you know kind of and look like he couldn't get by anybody and we get into this argument of. Oh my god. Bob cousy yeah. He can't guard. Kurt look steph. Curry on an isolation and bob cousy. You're going to say what is cruzi. Do it on this list. And some of those guy is from early. "Just like living like dialup better or do you think frankie living die Mostly because i like paul mccartney better than i like bob dylan i again. Yeah livin la di is punch year in their take on. It would kick sam frana not just so good and the music video and not gonna have a door their their take on that song as excellent but just live and let die has more energy in joe like you said it just fits fits gunson rose more so than the other song he has to try to for me. I was never a big dylan fans especially not knock on his door. Find the song boring even to this day with guns. It's a skipper for me even live. It's just not excited by it. It's just not one of my favorites whereas live. And let die like frankie said. I'm a huge beatles fanatic. But just the song alone. I don't care if bob dylan dilemma. Die would love it and they do such a great job of it It's funny because if you guys have ever seen decline of the western civilization part to lizzie borden which is a great band from the eighties. I listened to a lot. Did heavy version of live and let die and guns and roses kind of not copied it but their version is much closer to lizzie boards version than it is to to version because it does lend itself to that and it's just it's it's a very powerful song to this day so i'll go with live and let die Something else i want to point out is there's eight singles total from this record. Which in the state is just ridiculous but three of them are from one and five of them are from two just as a tribune of don't cry live and let die november rain air from one. You could be mine. Knock on heaven's door yesterday's civil war and estranged from number two so that's crazy little little interesting factoid. They're plus they had the power at the time where you know normally a song. We'll get cut for the radio. And then their release in november rain in a strange to single. Yeah right so long. i mean. We'll get to those when they get there but Okay so then we go to bad obsession versus get in the ring. What do you think. Joe in this case. I prefer bad obsession. It's funny because it's a good match because they're both aggressive you know vulgar songs and everything like that. Get in the ring. I think everyone remembers the part where it's like spoken word. Just calling out all the guys from the press that that pissed them off and everything like that of your journey doug for you so as a kid. Everyone that i knew knew all the words to that. Of course sing along because i wouldn't you but I like obsession a lot. I remember seeing them. Do it live not now. You know from old concerts and stuff and it's it really really kicks as i would hope that they would bring it. Back you know would fit the band currently in the way actual sing. And everything that yeah. I like beta obsession a lot. So i liked the harmonica the base in there I'm gonna go with get in the ring just because if you go back to the you know i'm going to say it a lot buying number two first on cassette and listening to it my car. Finally when get in the ring came on. I was like okay finally. We've got a riff song like in his punchy. And i didn't really know what it was about and then once again not no- and hearing this vicious just terrible tirade vile tirade on rock and roll magazines and you guys listening to think about this and we can comment like rock and roll. Magazines were the pipeline of information and for promotion. There was no internet or any of that stuff. So he's going out there and basically telling every magazine off and not carrying guns and roses. We're so big. What are you gonna do not put us on your cover. Just thought like the balls to do that was just massive for me. Because he's calling out like spin and hip raider like those people don't understand how giant those magazines were like. You said like that was how you got every bit of information like those those magazines for giant. The spoken word tirade all go through it quickly. That goes for all you punks. The press wanna start shit by print lies instead so the things we said. That means you set your hit parade. Or he's calling them out by name. Circus magazine mick. Wall at karang. Karang is huge. You know bob cousy oni. It's been we pissed off because your dad gets we're pushing it in you. Because bob guccione senior owned penthouse magazine he goes f. You suck my dick. Can't even say those wirtz you'll be ripping off the kids Ban their hard-earned money by the bands. That want to know about print lies starring. Cadre it's agonize me. Here's my favorite part. Because you want to antagonize me and tag. And then he goes. Get in the ring with a kick your bitchy little last. And then he goes on but he sounds legit mad when he's doing is if it wasn't enough to tell all this terrible things that the punk and i'll say one more thing about the son that i just loved hurt notice it right off the bat and keep in mind. "With us. What are we gonna do about chris. Paul man look the legacy of chris. Paul ranks fifth in the league all time in the cisco over ten thousand made eleven. Nba all star teams can all nba teams nine nba. All defensive teams. Where are we going to. Man is thirty six years old going to be thirty seven. Slow down a little bit. The effect of drew holiday finally took a toll on him. I thought it was playing. He was playing well. I'm not going to say this. James hardware you know getting three. He was awesome in the game. Forty fell off a cliff but just in terms of after game was with gained number two number one somewhere around there. You saw the diminishment in terms of impact chris. Paul had and you saw how much struggle jrue holiday was getting it. How much more impactful jewel holiday was getting. Even though he was inconsistent from a student standpoint the effectiveness that he had in garland chris paul throughout the series in terms of starting to wear him down finally took a toll on paul. Even though i think in in game six he was good. You only have one bad deemed finals. But for the most part he was good to very good but a lot of the effectiveness was negate of of what he could have been because of the pressure that drew holiday was putting them so moving forward. Chris paul as i mentioned before thirty six thirty seven years old. Was this nominally. Chris paul's best chance to win a championship. Was this chris. Paul's best chance to be really effective difference maker for a team that can win. A championship evolved one of the best point guards of all time regardless of what happens. Moving forward up there with magic azalea oscar robertson. John stockton jason kidd calvin murphy. Walt frazier steve. Nash tiny archibald georgetown university. Great alan iverson. Gary payton tony parker russell. Westbrook you wanna go back. Farther bob cousy. He's he's right there. He's right there but when you think about it and you think about especially the size of chris paul when you speak about a guy who's listening to six one so it's probably closer to five eleven five ten and a half is six feet or sixty. One is listed is listed height grade point guards of that stature especially the way they play the game he's done an alan iverson tied. He's not a new age point guard. he's not john moran type. He's not even really isaiah type. Chris paul very rarely is not going to be someone who's gonna go out quote unquote and get his you know. His value to the team has value his greatness. The reason why he's one of the best point guards ever played. The game is because of his intelligence because of his acumen to play the classic point guard in terms of getting others. Involved sitting the temple for the game. dictating the temple of the game. Dictating what happens. What goes down and then his defensive play also throughout the years. That wasn't chris. Paul does ability score forty points not as ability to our average thirty or the high twenties again. It's it's not that at all. It's ability to make the other players on his team. All stars the make the other players of his team great while also again playing great defense. So if you take a look at chris paul in the type of style that he has in terms of being that classic point. Guard the size. And everything like that. There's not too many guards of that stature. They're not too many guards throughout the history of the nfl of the nba. who had that type of play style. Who were great. That had major. You know that that that that won multiple championships. Bob cousy with the first great..

"Where unlike middleton i feel like middleton like booker like chris paul knows where his spots are breaking roll and i think drew was kind of taking what the defense gives him and i think that just that just puts his sons defense especially eight. But i mean they're all kinds of their conservative and deceptive. You know they want you to take. Low percentage shots. So they're going to try to go into those And withdrew going the row of okay. Let's he's kind of just seeing how much closer he can get to the rim essentially and that's just a great way miss layups over deandre eytan essentially. That's kind of. That's kind of what's been happening to him. All series as opposed to like you know middleton just being a little bit more methodical. But i agree with jackie honestly. I just think he's doing a law is the set. This is going to go six. At least it might go seven. I think you wanna use him to just try to wear down chris. Paul and booker in whatever you can get from him like considered a bonus but honestly like it's like what you said. Jackie when you have when you have that type of mentality or shooting stroke or whatever you wanna call it Maybe it's just a moment of self. Del like whatever it is. You can't guarantee that that guy is always gonna be consistent. Like i don't really necessarily want to be running much stuff for him Honestly i would lean if you need to lean even more heavily on middleton and pick and roll like. I feel like that's a big reason. They also didn't turn the ball over very much He was just he was just really good in it So yeah. I think don't know i just i just feel like drew. Holiday deserves a bit of a defense. I get that. He's not shooting well and everybody is kind of focused on that. But it's just he's doing so much like full court press in the nba finals for a whole game. Like try squatting down that low for like for like five seconds you know like for me five seconds but like it's just yeah it's it's it's really incredible. He's also he's creating a ton of points with his steals like he's he's creating good offense for them. It's just not in the way that you know Chris paul or booker or middleton does sense sear. it still hasn't been line for finals be potentially with two big games may be st. I had a. He was nine to one before the finals. But it does seem. I guess jaanus or booker now. The way this series is yeah. Those would be yeah you to candidates. Hey some folks are quick to doubt the rookies or even understate. Their excellence their playoff series. Make no mistake. This is their time to shine and show out with career defining moments on that court. Here's a famous on minna. Go way back for your thinking about. Overlooked rookies Tom heinsohn who passed away recently. legendary celtics announcer hall of famer really great underrated player but as a rookie. Nineteen fifty seven celtics. The celtics had never won. The title goes to a game seven against the saint. Louis hawks bob cousy is terrible. Bow cousy goes to for twenty. Can't make a shot. He got bill russell. He's a rookie. Not totally an offensive player. He's only scored nineteen They need a hero. And who's the hero. Holy cross his own. Tommy heinsohn rookie puts up thirty seven points. Twenty three rebounds seventeen for thirty three Was awesome and fouls out in double. Ot what happens to this game goes to double ot heinsohn vows out. Famous shot of him crying on the sidelines. Can't believe he found out at the celtics end up winning the game in the last minute. They win by two. He gets carried off the court. There's a famous photo of him All these people surrounding him. It's one of the great rookie moments of all times in the finals. You heard about magic in nineteen eighty heard about some other ones but i think that was the first great one and that's a wrap. Just like these rookies like tommy heights at one on the court you can win with your insurance getting the personalized service of a local agent offer. Surprisingly great rate with state farm like a good neighbor state.

"This guy is so great that he almost average triple double combined for the first three or four years of his career. Well now at the end of the season russell westbrook's average. What a triple double for for the past five years and now we're up there. Speaking about now we're trying to find ways now. We're trying to find avenues. And now we're trying to find discussion points now. Trying to find an olympics to diminish that Achievement by russell westbrook well on the rebound stephen adams with box out the entire team and not go for the rebound so russell westbrook to go ahead and get a rebound or russell. Westbrook would be hunting triple doubles and i don't know how anybody hunts a triple double all the selfish players that have been in the league. I don't think that you know. No one was hunting triple doubles until russell westbrook seventh or eighth year. Lebron kevin durant decided to take his talents to the bay area. That russell westbrook said you know what i'm going to start hunting triple doubles and the fact that it was so interesting. Go ahead do that. He would do that not just one season. But average that for the next four or five seasons michael jordan hunted triple doubles. I forgot what year it was. I think what the year. I think one of the years that he won the nba championship. But there was a time in august or something. Now excuse me. There was a time to february or something like that where he would actually go to the scores table and ask the guys how. What am i statistics. How me rebounds do i have. How do i have. And what was just a matter of just trying to keep interested in the game. That was one of the main reasons why he was doing it. Because it just needed something a challenge to go by so jordan. I think maybe a month concentrating on average a triple double for the month so if anybody was going to be hunting out triple doubles of you. Wanna put it in russell. Westbrook also better. You also include michael jordan. In that scenario. I read a book loose balls by terry. Pluto who were slew are talking about the nba. Back in the sixties in the fifties. And when the league's first started he was interviewing guys. Like tommy. heinsohn. Bob cousy and all these guys and billy cunningham and such and they said that the year that wilt chamberlain nineteen sixty seven sixty eight season. The wilt chamberlain led the league in assists. Let's compare injuries between some pretty and Joe Montana that will also tell the story of the difference when Montana played and the era of the Tom Brady played, and I'm not gonna fault a guy for the area. He played it. We're not going to get on Babe Ruth because he didn't play games in San Francisco or at night or on the West Coast or against African Americans. He hit 714, and that's where it is Sierra. He played it. We need to recognize everybody else that played in the same era. But Tom Brady, the best of this era, there's nobody else who stopped him. Joe Montana, the best days era, there's nobody to have talked to my We're not gonna compare the injuries, you know. Did you ever tear Inacio? I don't know. He took hits that Tom couldn't take. But Tom toward the sea. Ellen came back and won Super Bowl. I'm just saying that comparing the injuries is sort of erroneous doesn't really mean anything. "I got a question for you. Are you doing fan. Bob dylan fan. I'm okay with them. But i'm not a hardcore you bet. If you're if you don't like dylan you better get ready. Because you're going to hear a lot more dylan. I'm telling you why. After i tell you about shed concrete this homeowners and builders out there you know what i'm gonna tell you. My brother-in-law greg at the folks that shake crete they have a huge selection of pre cast concrete steps. You got to check this out. There's a tv commercial. Would meet in it and you get to see all the great steps that they have to offer but you can do that on the website you can stop by and see whether you're building a new home where you need to replace an old staircase. Shay has great vibes with designs for any home. They're veiling concrete. You can customize your steps with beautiful stone granite or brick. New staircase can dramatically upgrade the front entrance of your home. Maybe that's tom brady. Inches el ni. They can't seem to unload. There's little bungalow thirty three million dollar home. Maybe they have to upgrade the steps. That's how you do it. Most cases can remove your old stairs and heavy walking a new set of front steps within hours. And just like that. Your host looks better houses worth more and maybe trying to sell it. Maybe it helps you sell it. It's new steps they can. They can really help you move that old home and make it look better and so quicker you can learn more about chase pre cast concrete steps steps at a concrete dot com to stop by one of their four state of the ad for scillies. All over new england. I bob dylan. And i love these stories because this this is what the taylor swift it. Which means that they will wake up and actually have some interest in this topic. Talking about my girl taylor. Swift sold her music catalog to what's his name scooter braun. Oh yeah and then complains. After bob dylan sold his music library for three hundred million dollars. That's right And by the way He sold is popularly. Seventy eight which is another one of those amazing miracles. The bob dylan still around still kicking. Well did you hear what he said about this jerry region. But here's what's going to happen you me. We'll be watching You know football game. We're watching wednesday night football thursday night football tuesday night. Football game mini mini games That around these days and there's gonna be a commercial for flow or he'll be commercial for you name it Gimme gimme some tv for apple apple. Lot of apple commercials. That's a good one apple amazon target. And it'll be Some of my friend is blowing in the wind blowing in the wind or something blue. What's blue some blue jet blue. And they'll be tangled up in blue. You'll go what bob dylan. His stuff is going to be of vera readily available companies to put in tv commercials. Because bob dylan sold out. It's bob dylan's if you don't like it if you think you know that he's Not that kind of guy that he wouldn't ever seventy-nine by the way he sold out. He took the money. God bless him his family's gonna why he needs the money but his family is going to be fabulously wealthy for generations but companies like target nap bullen and whatever flow what is flow sell insurance. Press gress yes i defense. They're going to be able to play. Dylan's pay whatever the going rate is and they could play it and you'll hear it all over the place just like you here. You know the rolling stones in some cases or taylor swift and other artists who was amazing. When i read the story it was about some of the other artists of fleetwood. Mac sold theirs for like. I get the number here here. It is eighty million dollars they sold. It wasn't even the whole catalog eighty million dollars. Fleetwood mac and dillon skate. Like columbine could probably name more wallflower songs and he can bog way. Bob dole i. It's right over my head. I have no idea i look. I'm surprised he got three hundred million. Based on the fact that that ship has sailed a long time ago dylan receives a lump sum between two hundred and four hundred I'm not sure what the what. The stevie nicks sold their publishing catalog for eighty million dollars. The dylan portfolio six hundred songs while other bands who have sold their catalogs sold. You know taking the money. Blondie barry manilow and the estates of john lennon and kurt cobaine. I believe john lennon the beatles. Paul mccartney bought them for like a ridiculous amount of money Like eight hundred million. Paul mccartney owns well. Didn't jackson by michael jackson and then mccray jackson and a falling out story there. But there's only one to look up jerry. Three hundred million eighty million two hundred to four hundred million. What did what did brian. Wilson's father sell the beach boys catalogue for another against the wishes without the kids. Even knowing and i think he sold it for like seventy dollars and a coke or something new never spoke to his father again obviously but if the beach boys is the one you would want because of the catchy jingles. Yeah that's true point and that the father sold it for nothing. He had no idea what he had. And what the value of wasn't a guy goes. Hey i'm gonna dig deep here. I'll give you five hundred dollars. Whereas i sold and brian wilson was never the same after it happened. It's a good point. But i think dylan's got a lot of those you know catch even though they you know might be whatever. The revolutionary songs at times they are a change in blowing in the wind and songs like that which will which will fit nicely in commercials. And we'll be sick of them all with and i'm sure he had control over it and limited the exposure but i guarantee you. He sold the rights to some two songs to some commercials. I assume right Yeah i guess. So i mean i don't blame me if you're gonna die soon and you wanna take care of you. Offspring kids grandkids. You say. What the hell. What do i care if not be capitalizing on all the different changes that are going on in the music industry. I bet it's like a five person team that he has controlling the catalog right. Like it's a he. He owns time. Bob no one said a need the money for anything the the couple couple of years ago. Long before covid were dylan on went on tour and performed at three hundred nights in a year three hundred nights in one year deal and he was like seventy five and i don't know anyone that went to see him. He wasn't playing the big rooms anymore but he's just addicted to performing and singing his songs and i must have just an insane amount of money already. I mean just. But it's like what bob cousy sold all his Collectibles always memorabilia. He said what do i need it for. This is going to pay for my grandkids education. And can you blame him for that. I wouldn't. I'm a big lira. Guy when it comes to rock and roll. If you consider dylan rock and roll and dylan for what i again. He's not my bag particularly. I don't have any bob dylan on my phone. But his his lyrics. If back on my i always think that you know if you get ten best lyrics of all time. You don't need a whether they know which way the wind blows is one of the great lines right and i'm with you. I'm a lear. Emma word man to and i love you know singing along to whatever tangled up in blue and he. He won the nobel prize for whatever writing. Poetry didn't show up for the award. You know. I believe. I believe greta thune. Berg was second so she'd go toward for him but no he won the nobel prize. I think he blew the market and show up to get the thing and these the only singer or songwriter to win to win it
