"Some you know. Yeah you're you're like like do you wanna take the boat and the monorail. Yeah it's like one kid's like like okay. We'll figure that out once we get tickets and then they're like yeah. You need tickets to get across the damn late. I and you're like skews me. What should i pay to get here again. There was a there was a there was there was a combo tickets they got you both was like three seventy five so that lets you use the transportation and gave you a coupon to actually get into the into the theme park and not all of the attractions once you got in the park. We're necessarily ticketed either. Some of the shows and stuff didn't require tickets But then yeah you had the the the actual tickets which they three a being your tamoust rides to e bangor. Most thrilling state of the art brides like twenty thousand leagues under the sea. And yeah space mountain once it opened in one thousand nine hundred seventy five And things like that And Which you can buy the books where you just buy the tickets for particular ride individually which i read somewhere that went from like a dime to like ninety cents and and those stayed the same price until they eliminated that completely. So wow yeah. That's surprising that disney had something they didn't raise the price of existed is now now. It seems like they're raising the price. Every time every time bob eiger bob chepe sneezes yeah to oh i have allergies. That's gonna cost you another five bucks. Yeah yeah So yeah so. They did. The whole ticket ticket thing until Epcot opened and then they're like yeah. This would be too convoluted with two theme parks. Oh let's just do. Yeah just by entrance to the theme park and then you can just ride whether the hell you want as many times as long as you're willing to stand in line So that's what they did. That's what they've been doing ever since so So fifty years later here. We are big celebration Going on at the moment they're calling it a ear. It isn't solid. Pray never paid big money to come up with that. Yeah what is it. Isn't it a 'cause. I know like The sixty eight. When i went to disneyland for the sixtieth sixty is diamond. If he is gold yeah fifties. Yeah so but apparently gold is not cool enough so we needed to go like iridescence. And you're i guess. I mean if you've seen some of the merchandise that they've come out was it is pretty cool. Especially 'cause i know there's some people out there that really love like iridescent like holographic type stuff you know who more holla to my. Well i'm not one of them but all the hollow sexual is out there this i. I don't know kids into these. Anyway i you know. I'm around kids a lot. You just go my own and the one of the library. And i still don't get it yet. Payment lady so but because like i said it is walt disney resort. they're not keeping the celebrations just to the magic kingdom They are celebrating across all four parks among other things So starting october first Although i think started selling merchants stuff before that i got those tapas but the cinderella castle imagining departure has gotten a makeover which looks beautiful From what i can tell people's pictures and video which anything other than the birthday cake they did for the twenty fifth is i think an improvement I remember that birthday cake because the Yet i never saw the birthday cake in person. I've only ever seen in pictures. But i was like it was the thing that handle. Yeah disney channel It was like wall-to-wall. Twenty fifth anniversary while disneyworld and they had that birthday cake on all the ads and all the promos and the spots and everything like. That's the thing. yes yep So this time. No birthday cake So yeah but that looks really beautiful. there is a new Firework and nighttime firework and projection show called disney enchantment Which you can go see videos of all of these new shows on youtube. Pick your favorite florida based disney channel I don't think lou is really got on there yet. i'd have to look But i know like places like attractions magazine. Have videos and stuff up so If.

They said they won't they don't anticipate bringing about the dividend or repurchasing shares until Events have normalized you courtney very interesting wide-ranging report thank you very much and be sure to tune in to mad money tonight for jim. Cramer's exclusive interview with disney ceo. Bob fach you're not going to want to miss it okay. Gentlemen let's trade it tim. I'm going to start with you. There was a lot to like in this quarter lot to like and the bears are going to talk about that number. That's right average revenue per user guys cracking up because he was waiting for me to say but but the subs are really extraordinary. And i think there was a much more muted expectations again. I was talking yes here. On one tenth street was around thirteen. Point six seven something like that so way ahead and and you know part of the reason for that are i. Think is the blended with hot star. And some of the dynamics that i think are ultimately great for the company and we talked about cutting dibs or no until. There's no dibs until the parks and the world has gotten back to normal look would net flicks ever pay a dividend. I mean this is a streaming company. This is a story. this is where i think. A lot of people now are comfortable putting a a ten times. Dmv multiple which is what a lot of the analysts on the street. You plus then. They put a eps multiple on their core business. That's what i do and again the hybrid multiple means. I think disney can trade higher if you if you like netflix. Excuse me Then you certainly were gonna put that multiple on disney. And so that was a great number. Does he shares. Rose five percent after hours on that result. Okay laughing at the poo. Poo jokes over here. Not just a fast money joke now. Almost fifteen years old nine left every time i said it. He's got he's got to continue to deal with. It's a back and forth and listen tim. I will tell you. Watch the show. Tim is set for a while. Now that this stock was sort of spring loaded in earnings and it has been going sideways since may and this might be the quarter to get us back to that basically two or three level. We saw march. What i took away on top of the tim just said the parks number was really surprisingly. Good which i think augurs well understanding what's going on in the world right now but the fact of park summer like that in this environment looking. Backwards is encouraging. The knock on dizzy will be has been valuation if you can wrap your arms around valuation. I think dizzying. Get up to two or three. Who do you think two or three. Were about. One eighty eight right now. Two or three makes sense. I mean i really think this is a situation where expectations were relatively muted and they actually beat expectations. And we've seen a lot of companies beat and then trade off here. The other panelists have mentioned that it's been trading sideways. But i would say to dive into that a little bit more and say this is really a story of either. They're going to do well on subscriber growth and disney plus hulu etc or they are going to see robust growth from the parts and to have both of them come together if you look at netflix. Last release that started to inform people in terms of what the expectations were around sub growth. And around our. I guess. I'll throw my hat now with our pu job too but seeing that all come together lit. You're seeing you're seeing it benefits itself in the trading. I think you have more upside in the stock for those reasons. It's not an either or it's a company that is hilly hitting on all cylinders with still reopening catalyst to the upside and then what do you make of this. I think that the parks number was especially impressive. Although maybe i'm not surprised. I have a lot of friends that actually did go to disney for the during the quarter with their families there's more than just streaming here for sure to be liked. I think the point about parks and experiences about twenty five percent of the whole as far as revenues are concerned. So these guys were talking about evaluation a little bit. I mean if you're going to start to value that streaming business that have been higher somewhere. It doesn't have to be a netflix multiple thing. You're going to get comfortable with maybe thirty six times next year. And maybe twenty eight times. Two thousand twenty three and listen. I would just say this this dot coming into. This brand was down one percent on the year. We've seen a lot of these call reopening trades that gave back a lot of the gains that they had at some point at lake. You one early q. Because we just started a price in best-case scenarios in a way so i agree with modeling. The expectations were fairly muted in a way l. Let's see if we can hold this five percent gain tomorrow. I don't think there's any reason to probably chasing here. I think if you go back and look at the last few quarters where they've done better than expected chasing the print has not been a great trade and we also know that listen delta it may be in the rear view mirror and a few weeks we just don't know and just some of the kind of i guess that southwest airlines pre-announced warning that we got earlier in the week should give people pause at some of these trades..

"Question. i'm not. I should really have thought about this. I don't prepare. It just came up my head while we're doing. This might be a tie. Peter between inside lewin davis and no country for old men. Good both of our. Both of them are sort of like later period cohen movies. I would say but those are the ones that really have stuck with me in a way that some of the other ones have not although raising arizona's brilliant so i. I don't like a lot of the work. Yeah i think my favorite ethan coen story is not even about ethan coin. It's it's that bill. Murray signed on to voice garfield garfield because he heard it was being directed by. I think so named ethan coen this ethan cohen. It might be like eaten cohen or something like no h in the in the first name and he got confused. It was one of the cohen brothers. Yeah yeah that's that's me is hilarious because bill berry. Not doing the research but okay. Let's talk about some disney news yesterday. They announced that they replacement for the annual passes. Here in california disneyland system called the magic key and the most shocking thing about that is that is not very different than what it was before. A lot of people were expecting a whole the that they were going to completely overhaul the program because the annual pass holders is kind of looked down upon as a problem here at disneyland because they spend less money than the tourists. And it's always busy in civic that so before we get into like what the actual changes were peter. What were some of the changes that you thought might happen. Like you're saying that you know people thought that it would be revamped. What would what do you think were some of the prominent theories about like what was anticipated. That was going to change. Well it was interesting so they sunsetted the program. The program was was gone until you know it's coming back now. Under a different name is non annual pass holders called the magic key. And what's was set impressed by bob chepe pack. There's a lot of terms of like loyalty program or loyalty program for superfan like there was warning that made it sound like it was like you know that starbucks card that you use and you get like every couple of coffees. Get a free coffee kind of thing. That's what it sounded. Like to me. And i think that's what a lot of people are anticipating is like. Oh if you buy five tickets you'll get one free or something like that but in the end it it seems to be like almost the same thing as it was before where there's different bubbles different costs. The costs are actually cheaper than that. What what they were but they are more restrictive in that yet to make reservations now so you have a certain amount of slots to make reservations in we. We've yet to see how hard it's going to be to make reservations. So i'm guessing it's not gonna be as easy in spontaneous wasn't in the past But i'm i'm i as someone who loves disneyland. Going to disneyland by bed. Youtube channel about the parks. I i'm happy about this. It does seem like it might be the thing where i'm going to plan a visit months in advance though. So that's kind of sad but But anyway i wasn't going to talk about this. But i wanted to bring that up because there was also some disney news day. They announced the star wars galactic. Starters are this. Is the star wars hotel that was planned alongside galaxy's edge in florida. It's going to be opening up in twenty twenty two and they finally announced the prices. Ben have you seen the prices. Is it something like four thousand dollars. Okay so you have seen the. It's okay so this is a two day to night immersive experiences. Almost like it's supposed to be set up like a cruise like you go on board an all inclusive experience for your food is paid for Everything is a very alcoholic beverages. And it it's set up like a cruise where your dining in the dining hall. There's going to be like it's it's going to be like a westworld like interactive experience of ping where someone on board might ask you to like smuggle something on because you have a score ashore excursion to baotou which is the guy that might ask you to smuggle something on to help them to do something so it's like all this like storytelling involvement in the hotel. Rooms are look space. Cabins the really small like a cruise ship and yeah so. They announced the pricing for this in. I think it's a lot more money than everybody was expecting. It being So they only gave one sample. The sample is for a booking on weeknights in late august to early september. So that's not like the most expensive. I'm sure like you know if you wanted to book during summer in on a weekend. It's probably going to be more expensive than this. And the pricing is one thousand two hundred nine dollars per guest per nights so if you have two guests in a cabin that is four thousand eight hundred nine dollars. Wow okay so like i mean Our kids can do kids count as guests they do so they have some other pressing here so if you had four guests per cabinet. That's three adults in one child. I don't know why they say three adults lay out there. I guess maybe a child counselors. I don't know what the age range maybe that teenager like a younger kid. That's weird sampled again. Why wouldn't you say to adult to teach that seven forty nine per guest per night. So that's six thousand dollars for the god. This is for two nights. Peter two nights to days and some of that experience. You're actually going to hollywood studios. They experienced like a short excursion to gouge his head. So you're not even spending the whole two days there. Is this too much. Ben what do you mean. Is it too much i mean can you. Can you justify that. Peter like not for yourself but like can you justify disney charging that much. I don't know. I really don't know i it. It is a small hotel. There's only a hundred hotel tell rooms in. I'm guessing there's going to be a lot of actors filling up this hotel and there's going to be a moment where the first order comes on board and his big white sabre fide like. It's gonna be a epic roleplaying experience. But is it yeah. This is a lot of money ben. At a lot of money the the problem though is that people will pay flex they can charge whatever they want and people will pay it just seems like a shame because that seems like a cool thing that like an average american family would like to share with their children but like the pricing on. That is just so prohibitively expensive. I cannot imagine it is ridiculous too because if you think of like a cruise like a disney cruise disney kurtzer so much more than like other cruises and a disney cruise for. Seven nights is less expensive than this two nights for. Do people while i wonder. Do you think that this is That this is something that they might course correct on like overtime like bill right out of the gate. They know that people hate him. Because it's new like everybody's obsessed with disney in star wars so like people will just pay whatever in say. Screw it. i don't care. I'm just gonna pay anything and then like you know. Let's call it a year afterwards. The maybe some of the hypo of died down or something. Do you think that they'll actually like drastically. Drop these prices to make it more affordable for more people or you think they'll dig their heels in hold their ground. The thing is they only have those one hundred rooms so is with the supply and demand if the demand is higher than the supply that i don't think they are going to course correct but i also wonder how many people can afford this. Because i don't think that this is going to be people just booking this. I think if you're going to florida on a walt disney world vacation you're gonna book this in also a few days at the parks so i can't even imagine. Wow i mean. I'm not the lake. The right person ask about this because we have a youtube channel and we have to go there and cover him. It's going to happen One way or another. Like i am also the biggest star wars medic. I need to do this. But i don't know i just can't imagine..

Disney CEO Bob Iger Steps Aside; Bob Chapek Named New Head

"Let's move onto Disney some big news. Disney CEO BOB. Iger is stepping down as CEO but will remain executive chairman until twenty twenty one. Now Bob Chepe pack will take over. Chepe heck was the chairman of Disney parks experiences and products. He's been at Disney for a long time. Twenty seven years and we knew was going to step down. Yeah but still. This is a bit of a surprise in who the new CEO is. Yeah a lot of people thought you know be Bob. Eiger came out last year and he put something called the ride of a lifetime and he basically forecast that he was at the he was at the end of his time as CEO of Disney. The you know that he would be stepping down. It was not in the middle of the route of lifetime. This was kind of a a foreshadowing. The timing is really odd again. Given the corona virus and Disney Disney parks worldwide or about thirty percent of the revenue of the total profitability of the company. Like this is a big deal yet. A lot of people didn't realize you know the thought that the next leader from Would come maybe from Disney plus from the from the video side and they didn't they went and tapped a guy who's been at the benefit the parks. Yeah I happen to think. It's all a big conspiracy just to keep the Bob's in power feels like a snap. It feels like a snub to someone like Kevin Mayor. Who's been heading up Disney streaming service and Disney for so long has been saying streaming Disney placid future of Disney and to bring somebody in who has experienced running the parkside. The experience I've Disney is an interesting choice and the market doesn't seem to like it. But I I kind of do minus the Bob Bob thing strange but I think it's a good thing because as you said it's the parks in the experience that has been driving Disney throughout his entire history. And you don't want to put everything on streaming and ignore the extremely profitable important aspects. That is the Disney culture. That's created from experiences like parks the thing that's really interesting. And the Bob Eiger it. It's interesting to me that when Bob Eiger became the CEO. I don't know if you remember this but it was not a popular pick at all. It was not you know he was thought of as being the wrong guy coming from the wrong industry but what he has been. He's been a master capital alligator. Bought Pixar Lucasfilm's Fox Studios Marsa Marvel Marvel Tuck in acquisitions exactly exactly me transformational acquisitions. But people didn't realize you know people did not give him the credit in advance that that was what he was going to do. And I think one of the reasons that they went to the direction that they did is the thing that Bob Iger did that. People were surprised about is he really cracked the code on direct to consumer for Disney. Yeah and baby. Yoda and finally finally. We're going to see some BAYONA merchandise and other high not gonNA sell
