"To see but what happens is this will have people in the they won't even send us a let me see what she fixing to do always out there. She always trying to do something she always. You know what we all hear this but did not offer. The lifeboat did not offer the rope a wine and so is just wanted to bring that that. Peter is just like us in n. Out you know how we manage to deal with things that are going on in our lives that we say yes lord but when life sometimes we start the same because who he is yes yeah it goes back to the We talk about the distraction of goes back but the other part. Look at this though it can. Can you use your imagination. Think about you've been praying asking god for this job and you know you not really qualified for the job. But you won't job. You feel like i can do the job. And you pray new pray you get to get the job you'll get the job then you begin to feel. Oh can i really do this. Get can i don't know if i can do the job. You get happy that you got the job but then you get sad in a trick the devil because now. Oh wow can i really do and so peter gets out of the boat. He has this courage over in joshua chapter one. God tells joshua he says up bill good courage he tells joshua he says bill Kurti's telling us be a good courage. Get out of the boat. Think about this. Peter got out of the boat. He was bold enough. Had the courage to get out of the boat and then he takes few steps. He got distracted. He had to say but he lost that faith alone. The way those few stems but here it does right here. I'm getting ready to give it. All the way is the bank. Even when you step out of your boat with all the fake you have now you gotta understand pena hat the faith again out of the boat to renew have the faith to get out of the boat harbor in the midst of your journey there comes that high but where you begin to doubt your own say this and again you gotta know that. It is a trick of the devil. That's putting those things in your mind to make you think that you cannot finish the journey. Peter saw i can't finish this. I done this before looking on water. This is not solid ground but now he begin to focus on what he could not do and then he began to say here. It is Even when you begin to say good auto body you gotta know that jesus right down the you back up and start you on your way saved you. He's able to deliver you. He's able to bring you to that place. Where god wants you to be asked been happy up in here. Yeah yeah even Before you begin to sing let's go back a little bit We'll talk about the is that would he saw a win win. You ever see when you see when you see the effects. You've failed him. But you see the affects the windows eateries blowing. You'll see things moving but you never see the win. You see the effects of the wind. So when the distractions were things that he necessarily probably didn't even see 'cause you can't see what is a feeling. Oh budget feelings are not always true. Just because you feel a certain way. Don't mean that the truth so we have to be mice for the. We have to be my for the fact that the distractions those things we have to keep our are filling in check because the feelings feelings kit also caused us to to take on fear that was that mr young go corny. Here's another thing is that i think we have to understand to some things that happens in our lives is for god. Get lowering cho- what a god was glorified. Jesus was glorified in the midst. Where in the midst of what happened. Pita got out of the boat by say lor a lost it but jesus was right there to show him. I'm bill with you. Every every step of the way everything that happens in our lives is either choices that we have made on all or it a lot more. Therefore it was over in ha is a john chapter nine. Thanks john john. And i believe it is the blind man. A in the disciples were asking. Jesus you know what did this man do. Yeah who sin wool and we thank every time something happened to us. That is because we've done something wrong. People think something wrong in this is this is happening. But jesus told us decide we say no one said it was to give god the glory. Yeah yeah yeah. Yeah yeah definitely. 'cause i mean there's there's as you said we have to recognize is everything is.

"Well, we have sporting shift himself, Mr Scarlets of on the line. I am dying to find out. If he caught with all instruction. We gave him any fish last week at Lake Almond or Good morning. We caught So Many cocktails today, Um We did not catch the fish. Now, I would have said that was impossible. But you have a unique Cat for good about the way Mike wrote it and all that serious about it, However, Yeah, No. I mean, we were serious enough We were. We were doing the worm at one mile an hour. We have, um We were Jigen we were doing Now we're looking at what the other guys were doing after doing And this is a buddy of mine who lives on the lake. Who's got a boat who's bought a whole bunch of fish on the lake. So it wasn't like the first time he seen photos of all the fishies mania was Photoshopped. I don't know. We get a chance to finish, so I blame you. I think that's what I would have done to you that that you did when I suggested, But I don't blame him. He doesn't know anything about Ah, Anyway, You have a good custom specifically. Did you ask me what we were? What? We were talking salmon. Salmon. You know, if you go to the sporting dot com website, there's a whole bunch of research standing now. I get a little sermon out myself. I get just like any other fish. Too much of a good thing. With things that we've talked about over the years and one of the things that people ignore, or the stamen collars. And those salmon collar. You condone the sporting shop Web site, and there's a great recipe for It's so very simple. The same thing that you do with Yellowtail and with tuna. You cut. The collars are seizing on your slapping on a grill a little good olive oil on there, And then you just kicked that really good meat off and you get the flavor of the bone from the collar. That's exceptional. If your fish is not a river, Tam and Andi, it's a good quality ocean salmon. I love making grab blocks out of it, which is a very simple you take a filet. You put half and half kosher salt brown sugar. Put a layer of that on the bottom, but the fish on top, but another layer of the kosher salt brown sugar. On top of that. I like to put a few lemons and limes on top. You wrap some Brits in paper in ah, aluminum foil or plastic grafts. Let them on top of the salmon in order to press the juice out, flipping over for three days, flipping over one today poured the juice out. And you have that $25 town gravel are Yeah, well, great. It's on the website that is on the website. Of course, there's the Sims Bob stems stamen his arm near to where you've got We like to have the crispy edges because you got a little sweet. Is it honey or sugar in there? Here. Wait When you put that sweet marinate on there and you put it over an open flame and you get those crispy burnt stamina. I love every part. Yeah. Scott. That's great. Thank you. Even stocked. Okay. Scott Laser on the website is sporting chef. Dot com. Now, Uh, you might think fishing at Big Obey is over. Well, not quite same thing happening Bodega. They had old run of fish Go through caught some salmon there. And Chris Lawrenson is aware that he's with us now and also some pretty good striper fishing down by his marina, just below the Antioch Bridge. Good morning, Chris. Morning, Bob. So talk to me about Salmon. Ah, today go this week. So it looks like Thursday. Wednesday, Thursday Friday, all the charter boat guys were out. The guys are still around. Still still working. There were some fish from the malice point all the way down the keyhole. Some of the fish were being caught about 70 ft. Down on the wire up to 21 £23 good great of fish. Um, and so it's not quite over yet. And our doesn't and they're still there still good rockfishing and Ling cod fishing as well. You know? Ah, catching salmon in October off Bodega and the Bayer is not exactly uncommon, but what is uncommon Is the number of fish were seeing this late in the season. I mean, we we expect to go out and spend the better part of a day to get maybe one nice fish, but, um, something happened toward that delayed these fish from coming back down the coast. I don't know, but I'm glad they did, because it's providing fun for everybody. That's for sure. Absolutely. Rick On Thursday got 16 looked up £23.120 rockfish and lead 24 link. Odds up. Tio found the ocean still flat. You know, it's gorgeous. Fall salmon fishing at Bodega Bay. Yeah, now in front of your place, In fact, when you and I talked Bob Wright, who was thie the fill in skipper on the Happy hooker for years and years. When Jim Smith went to allow school he he loves striper fission, and he loves fishing with blue gills and plugs and stuff. And I had a chance to talk to him briefly, and he's doing pretty good. Right close to your place. He is between Union Bridge in the barges up to the mouth of all were also verbally 25 up there. He was bounce along some of shallow spots of Baek Does you got a nice great fish up to £7 that I had another guy Alu that has a brand new boat called Cola. He was fishing down at Frasier Shoals and broad Snow yesterday, and he had some keeper stripers. Not big, but there were some stripers around down there, and he was just using anchovies for bait. So Between broad slough and you know, false river. There's fish in the system. Yeah, that's good. And everybody seems to be, uh, concentrating on the Sacramento like the West Bank in that area, and that's kind of a hitter missin and nothing to rave about right now. So that's good to see that there's some fish and like Bob called him up to £7. I mean, there's nothing wrong with that. Nothing wrong with that. It's just like ocean salmon fishing. You know, you have to find your fish. And you keep got to keep moving around because they're moving every day. Uh, water temperatures still in the 70 disturb you one degree range between the bridge and false river. So what are still very warm And a lot more Waterhouse and out right now, as we speak the dredge number eight Ross Island, Dredge Number eight, is working off of them looking river below the Anyang Bridge by West Island, So there's dredge pipe out there that folks need to be concerned with, but You know, we're gonna have flat water again. Today was very smoky. Last couple of days. I couldn't barely make out the outline of Endo's boat harbor from our place, so it's smoky. And, you know, enjoy the flat, calm weather. Hey, Chris, I want to ask you this. You know a lot of people. In fact, more and more people the last couple of years have used the boat ramp at your place Lawrence and Yacht Harbor. You know a great rap. It's all protected. There's ah, cleaning station there. Um, and then you had to close it because of the virus. Is there another good boat ramp right in the immediate area. Well, there's other bull wrap. So it's either big break Marina or Anya cast to Maria to launching Ramp one at Fulton Shipyard on Fulton Shipyard Road, Wilbur Avenue. And the other one is down at the Antioch Marina off of L Street nanny ocher that those were the two closest location. We're still closed,.

"Every time I do I have a lot of places that I go over and over and over again and people have said. I don't know it sounds as though as the first time you ever said it when you say these things. But it's it's the the repet- repetition and being able to bring life to a character using that repetition. Now when you get to the film you've got a whole different set of tools but it still bringing that character to life I'm I'm I'm pretty good at both But you're right. I do really like being on stage. The other thing is I'm a solo performer. Most actors go on stage with an ensemble at least three or four of the people if you get in trouble. There's somebody there save you if I get in trouble. I'm on my own unique stagefright of you do next. Oh but you've got this you got this and you can handle this but you brought up something okay so you also have done acting on television. So let's talk about the gun. Oh well my favorite was because they were the best rules that I had. I'd had a couple of roles on spenser for hire back. That's a long time ago now but I played a bad cop. I was a cop who is supposed to murder the guy that he was guarding. And I got an I get into a fight with Hawk and it kind of a good story because an interesting story to me anyhow. We're doing this fight and rehearsing the flight in talking to Avery Brooks. Who is the key to the plate? Hawk and I said this doesn't work you. We can't have the fight. Go this way. And he said don't worry about it. Just just just do it. What they say and I did and About two weeks later I get a call and they said can you come back? We want to Redo the fight because it didn't work because they had him killing a cop. Well you can't have this very tough Black Guy. Kill a cop and not. Have Somebody get upset about it? Got To have a whole thing over again and then my other episode of Spencer a day actually was on it probably twenty twenty times over the years but mostly his background but the other one I had actually had a little bit of a falling out with the casting people because I had had to leave an audition before they actually audition me because I had the show and big. Somebody got mad at me at the casting company in the headman called in for a long time and finally get called in and there. When I get to the audition. They're looking for a seventy year old short Greek man. Oh now and I was thirty five years old six foot tall and finish and I got the part. Just stop right there because I want to share something really important with the audience because I always try to ensure that the audience is equipped with some things every episode and. This is one of them. Do not let something intimidate you. You might see a parameter that says this is what we want but that does not always mean that that is going to stop you from succeeding in something that you want to go after. Okay I just WANNA I wanNA point that out right there. That's really really important. Now you do have to be a little bit careful because if you go to too many additions that you're not appropriate for the oil. Get really mad at you. This was this. You're you're right. And anything in life just gnarly pursue what you want to go after and there's a lot of different. There's a lot of different things that can happen. Just keep pursuing what you WANNA do and try to be the best that it can be. Hopefully you'll be better than everybody else and you'll get someplace. I don't know where it does work to your advantage. Keep pursuing okay. Thank you bye now but no one of the problems that I have is. I get easily distracted so people say I have a very short attention span because I I can concentrate at certain times but I get easily distracted so we were talking about. Oh we're talking about for higher and So I did get that role in. I've done lots of others mostly of little independent films Then I've got one that's supposed to be coming out that I I had a small role in That that I play a boat harbor boat guy charge of all the boats and harbor and things like that but I like I like doing small independent movies. Sometimes you can get really good roles and when you're in Boston we usually don't get the big roles where always going to be a supporting actor one type of this. I liked to do the little ones because then I don't have to be supporting actor anymore. Fun Yup the small independent films are fine. You get to really know the set you get to really interact with a lot of the Other actors that are in there. You get additional part. Sometimes you get to you really to learn a lot about what goes on in the industry as well I do might working with small independents. The downside is that a work with some really talented young directors and as soon as they do a film here then they go to Hollywood every two anything with them again. Yeah so that's someday so talking about that too though that is knowing what your goals are I mean. Do you WanNa Work. Small and just kind of maintain a circuit on independence. Are you looking to pursue big screen to the screen is is? Is it more of a hobby? It's a hobby. 'cause you get paid a low. I get paid fairly well from my live shows because I've been doing for so long and so many different places but I really am alive. Stage actor first and foremost so the movies. I do partly just keep practicing it. It you're stretching your your abilities you go out and do things that You might never especially in the small phones. I can do roles I might never have gotten cast in no matter what someplace else but in the small film I can do it. I love this. I absolutely love him. I love what you're doing. I love where you're doing it white. You're white you're doing. I think that oftentimes we forget about where you can be absorbing education. Oftentimes it's GONNA HAPPEN IN ELEMENTARY. School is going to happen in our middle. Schools is going to happen in High School Community College University Education in the library. Forget the Library Yup and here in New England. We have a lot of libraries. That are very active in doing they. Call it outreach. Its programming So I- belong to a group called Solo together in we have about. Oh about seventy.

"Right. Welcome back been Ferguson show. You may have heard us talk a lot about Germantown yesterday. One of the aldermen alderman, rocky Janna for Germantown is gonna join me coming up at the bottom of the hour. Four thirty to talk about his perspective on this Germantown land deal. We'll talk about that coming up next at the bottom of the hour. And we'll continue to talk about obviously what's going on downtown at the. Mud island area, the Memphis. River parks group is evaluating public interests in mud island river park in deciding whether to update the power card guess let it rot. I'm not exaggerating. They're basically saying, well, we don't see a lot of interests of people. You guys have a crappy product. You have nothing to do when you get over there. How your rivers anymore right now because you can't even control algae. You have a restaurant that the food is subpar just being honest, and your and your and your monorail doesn't work. And you wonder why a bunch of people aren't showing up. So I'm going to give you free advice. I'm going to give you literally research tens of thousands of dollars worth from people that listen to the show about what they think about what you guys are doing and what you're running right now at mud island and you're going to have to pay me for this is my gift to you. Elizabeth your first up on the Ben Ferguson show. Hi. Hi, Elizabeth some show. Hi, how are you? Okay. I think it's a very interesting topic you're talking about. I don't believe in reinventing, the wheel Henry Turley did a wonderful job on harbor town. And I don't see any reason why you can't do a wonderful job on the rest of mud island. I'd leave it to him. Well, what here's my thing. Do you have any desire to go down to a place where the monorail doesn't work where there's there's two very rarely? So there was nowhere to eat where you have algae. That, that is growing in the in the river, so your kids can't play that drain it now. They're having a pressure watching with big Firoz as well. The sludge. I mean, does that sound like a place you'd wanna go? Spend money nothing nothing appetizing dare you didn't describe any any reason for me to go down there. I mean, these these this is this is the thing about these river development, people, they're cronies of people in politics, people need to understand that. That's the first thing that people need understand. But they say last year, we had the monorail operable not many people wrote the monorail if we been kept keeping money in something and people don't use it. We want to make sure the money we're using gets the most impact the reason why the monorail works and doesn't work works. And it doesn't work that three hundred people assume for longer than it hasn't worked has work. You get my point. So people assume that it's still not working you may have fixed it. But you did a crappy job because it broke. Again, I go back to my knowledge if I have a restaurant am I am in my ovens break? And then I fix him, but they got again, then I don't fix them. Then I blame it on my customer base. If I go under by thinks you're an idiot, right? It's my fault for being a moron. Yeah. Well, people like dependability most people. Right. I if somebody comes to my restaurant, and they say, hey, Ben, we want to dinner and you go. Oh, well, a lot of you hadn't been coming in recently since my oven broke. So I don't have any food. What do you think's going to happen? They're going to get up and leave and not come back. And this is the reason why people haven't come back. No reason to no reason at all. Thank you, Jay, Tom. You're on the Ben Ferguson show. It's the best piece of real estate in Memphis. It's got the best view. I'm a huge advocate for downtown. I lived on the island I had a boat harbor. I use the hell out of that boat. I love the river. I mean, I'm talking. I went down way past tunica went way up the river four. Our river runs up river. I spent a ton of money in that harbor just on fuel for my boat. I, I've spent probably hundreds of hours. I don't think I'm exaggerating hundreds of hours on that the river and in the harbor, a lot of those hours of those were spent their I've watched all of music fest from a boat. I am a big advocate for the river, but mud island is a joke, and it's because the way they've run it. And now it's like they're trying to blame the citizens for not working. Well, which is stupid. Your reaction. Go ahead. All right. I guess we lost time. We'll try to get back Lynn you're on the Ben Ferguson show. How are you Lynn? I'm good. How you doing good? Give give give some free advice to those guys down there. You know, when I think about the potential that, that's there has something interactive like the aquarium restaurant as in Nashville, you know, to go along with the whole, you know, riverine in fish and hope whole thing, one thing, I can say about Memphis is they have a problem multitasking, you know, they get these venues and feel like they have to protect other venues from it. You've got the fed ex form. So we don't want you to have a concert anywhere else. We have failed street. We ought to protect Bill street, so we don't want you to enjoy anything else. When people come to town, they want multiple different things to do. So I don't understand fear of Tigers that goes back to the corruption, I was telling you about earlier, there are too many conflicts of interest within the Memphis city, government of people that are connected, and in the visitor's bureau to Bill street, and they don't want anything to succeed because it might hurt their private business interests on Bill St.. Exactly. And it's just ridiculous. Because when people go out of town, you want to say, hey, we went here on Friday. We went there on Saturday, we went here somewhere else, and I just, it's just I, I laugh at the main street. How is our main street, so dead depends district dead? It's just insane. So, but hey, put a night aquarium restaurant out there. You know, that'd be interesting for people to go to if you build it, they will come. But right now what you built is forty fifty years old, it sucks would know amenities. And if they do try to do something, it'll be oh, let's put them jungle gym than some flash parks out there for kids. It's like let's just let let the laxly build something that people want to come to. And I would argue I don't trust you to do it needs to be turned over the private sector. I just don't. I don't trust the government to be able to do it. Right. Because you guys had this property, and you squandered it for as long as I've been alive, and that's thirty seven years. Five three five nine seven three two one eight hundred. Four seven four nine.
