"I think you're taking a look at those guys at snapshot at their lowest moment in their mba careers and thinking. That's the future. That's the mistake when you look at the clippers. Well you can say that. And and i hear what you're saying but the bottom line is this. You're saying the clippers have and they have paul. George granted acknowledged. That's all you need any. Mba you need to star players fred to have a shot. So yes no rob the lakers. Have anthony davis lebron james. If you only need to buy. But that doesn't mean that they can't beat those guys as what i'm saying talking. You know what you get either pair. Who do you take your leader. You're gonna start your team and you can have paul george. I will take a y. And paul george. Lebron james is going to be thirty six boakye. Don't know what i'm going to get these other. Two guys who are in their primes. They got four great years ahead of them. You don't know what you're going to get. I think you saw last year. What you're going to that was last year. I don't know what this year whole. If that was the case as great as lebron has been he wouldn't be a two thirty five hitter. What i mean is he's won four championships in seventeen years. Why do i think automatically. He's going to win again. What he's only one four times in seventeen years automatic. But you can't make the argument that last year. He looked as good as he has in his entire career. He was good. He wasn't as good when he in the past. He's bp's got killed the every people and you know what was that. Was that accurate. Who you know. What jaanus okay fine. He had better numbers. You're telling me that. Lebron james did not mean as much if not more to the lakers. And don't use the argument well at the buxton net. Jaanus they wouldn't even be competitive. They would be competitive but you know what they didn't want a title. He hasn't won a title. No but we're talking about the regular season. I know. I understand what you're talking about when you look at it and you're thinking that everything's gonna be just as it was a year ago. Sports doesn't work like that. And if that was the case lebron james would have way more championships. And he doesn't so i'm telling you i've seen lebron lose before many times. I've seen lebron not get it done when he was even younger and had a supporting cast so and now the league is better k. D. waibel was gone last year. K d's bad lebron's way d. in his way during the regular season. Now i'm talking about to try to win to repeat as champion in his way. We couldn't beat with golden state. All right do you believe that. Last year lebron really went on a revenge tour. Do you believe that last. You're giving what happened the year before atrocity and i made the comment then rob that he. He wears a laker uniform. But he's not a laker. So i i i was there but are you telling me after what you saw last year and the improvements that the lakers made you can actually say. They're deeper than the clippers. Although i love marcus morris on the clippers but the lakers are now deeper. You're telling me that. The lakers are a better team than the clippers and the clippers are going to win the championship. I would take the clippers to come back from what happened to them a year ago. I still like their team and tie. Luke can get the best out of them. There's no way those guys will ever hear me out for it..

"Very relevant point that it's interesting and important. Perhaps to recognize as people like myself tend to feel threatened issue will by what seems like the gullibility of so many. Whether it's jones down rabins gators you mentioned and it is a to realize that the numbers who actually do so at least for certainly for these extreme cultural is quite awkward. Small and The fact that they received so much attention is itself may be an indication that the rest of us. which is i think. The overwhelming majority tend to look at them and say what the hell is wrong with them. Price other generalized Right actually that people are not that gullible however those who are can be very dangerous. And i think not just to themselves as we saw johnstown in heaven's gate but Insofar as there were enough gullible people who really bought into nazism transcendent took honor. Life of its own where it wasn't just a matter of all ability gullibility snowballed into joining the group being part of the crowd. And so you might have had a small gullible group to begin with. But then as it snowballed and increased momentum. It became profoundly dangerous. And i made to add a. I'm not just throwing boakye in your direction. Michael but i think you wrote the best book about it. Exactly that that whole question of why people believe weird things. That was really important book. I think you applaud asli. It'd help me a lot once. In by the way that i've written about just recently I don't recall you included in your book. Maybe if you want to revive revise it someday because there's plenty of information is phenomena what my wife to lipton was a psychiatrist. And i've been calling the peter up. Peter pan affect the hit. That's another one. I guess the pied piper effect. I think one thing they exemplify kind of gullibility is this the the susceptibility that so many people have to the pied piper to someone who's piping the tune that they find just irresistible. And of course the. I forgot the rats to walk out of hamlin And then he wasn't paid. The town failed to pay the piper regime come so the came back played pipe again and all the kids of hamlet went out do so they were gullible as well to have not only lost the rats which is helpful terms of their pandemic if you will but they lost their kids as a punishment so there is a gullibility factor as well to a charismatic leader that gets back to the point you raised earlier about what they're been been world holocaust wilmore has learned. I'm inclined to think wouldn't because hitler turned out to be a really effective piper. Yes yes certainly. The research that holds that a pretty strongly that he was very charismatic. Great speaker and trump is very entertaining as when watching the last couple of weeks before the election. This guy was just the energizer bunny just endless hour after hour after hour. And he's funny and entertaining. It's like holy crap. I could never do this. I don't know how the not many people can most politicians are pretty boring..

"Has changed cities across the country in New York Broadway shows her stalled until may of next year. But as the expression goes, the show must go on. Survivor 39 Preseason Interviews: Vokai Tribe
"Some more interviews from Fiji with the man who went down to get them all with the cast of survivor thirty nine. Please welcome back great friend Joshua Josh how are you. I'm fantastic. We Are we are. We are changing beaches today. We are changing weeks and beaches all in one go. It's such an exciting time here in the IOI preseason. He's in now that it is finally upon us time three day. Three of our interview series days but yes yes. We're going to be hearing. Ah Josh is five interviews with the alphabetical first half of the vote try. That'll be Jamal Janet and Jason. Yeah a lot of Jay's lots of Jay's all the days of the season. Were put on FOCI. I I have noticed that about survivor like if there's two Kelly's Odyssey's in they'll throw both of the Kelly's onto the care. They really don't like they're like I don't care if there's four people with the first name starting with j on the same tribe and none on the other one we don't. We don't need to make this easy for you. We believe your ability to follow along. Yeah survivor never playing. They'd never played the audience like they're dummies right. It's up to them then to figure things out and you're a purple. Oh Kelly Era Boston. Rob Your Z. Yeah exactly all right. So did you like being robbed. See would if you could have done differently if you could go back. Would you change anything. I would change a lot being robbed not high on the list not high on the analyst but we'll see maybe if I play again maybe Boston Rob will be coach and then he released the test on what I should you. Of course we part. One and two of this interview is series with the Leroy tribe. Those were all very fun but Josh we're going to get into the vote Kyw. Try anything you want to say. The name like Giora More Mont because 'cause I know you want to vote yeah doesn't that it's more fun to say that yeah all right. Josh anything big picture about L. Jam focused slowly absolutely I think I said on the Lyra tribe podcasts that and certainly Mike and I talked about it too in the in the podcast we did together. You're going to that beach to Lyra beach like we were just like we were trying very hard not to like crack up in front of the actual contestants really keep a low profile. Oh file and they were not making it easy for us. Boakye was a different story not that it wasn't highly enjoyable to go and check out this tribe in action and they were just actually in action whereas Lyra was lying down in their shelter doing their best to just like stand up comedy us to death the members of Boakye much more taking the game seriously and taking the survival aspect seriously worker worker bees all over buzzing around all over the places aces. They're chopping Bam boo. They were working on their shelter which was already pretty impressive for day to both shelters were pretty impressive for two and just moving around. I and getting things going and working on figuring out how to find like the best supplies that'll help you. Brush your teeth things like that and things like that so that was that was really the experience. Just seeing people already get into like that daily. Grind of survivor living and I think that there are allied. God Really Fun people on this tribe as well but I do think that there's almost like a little bit more of like a serious mindedness. Maybe to some of these people so I I thought that that was an interesting distinction that I kind of felt that way about a lot of these people individually anyway and to see that that division between the two tribes is one is sort of like the really whimsical group then the other group that isn't just like stone cold serious but they were just like kind of getting to work and there's a lot of work to be done out. There and we ourselves have have a lot of work to do right now all right up. I is going to be Dan Josh show. What can you tell us about Damn yes. Dan is a talent manager. Originally from New York is currently in. La as he'll tell you he's had a few brushes with survivor in the past few near casting incidents himself off your definition of winning that I think is going to be different from your definition of winning. Hill articulate that in the interview that we did but he'll also he'll chart history with how he got into his industry. How he got into his his particular position within his industry. there will be some stories about soda that I think will will will be ironic in the light of another interview coming up later in this ferry podcast so we'll just we'll touch those two things back when we get to the moment but other than that let's turn it over to. Dan as again mother Corner Office. Dave really done well by either. I'm Josh Josh. I'm Dan Nice to meet you. Grab a seat. Join me in my very fancy. They love it lovely cubicle the SPIEL. I'll give you a no hands on the table. Yes because otherwise otherwise you are free to do anything and everything you're heading to yeah you can do that. I mean like the Canary can tell people Wisconsin on as he banged his head on. That's my God Dan yes. What are you doing out here. What am I doing out here. What I'm doing here here I guess is the way I've the way I've come to it. Now is like my Mount Everest right like in the last you know. This is my thing that have read about. It was really cool. In the last twenty years there have been five five thousand people who climb to the top of Everest. Both there have been what less than five hundred sixty you played this game and I guess there's less than thirty seven or thirty seven eventually won it right so it's I think we look for challenges in life and I have no interest in frostbite and oxygen deprivation. Well maybe this and then like maybe helpers whereas zero no telling you frostbite oxygen deprivation. I've watched those documentaries. No you're going on. This is my Mount Everest. This is my this is my kind of challenge. Calendar fits. Everything about who I am and how I lived in what I've done and it's just to me is like that's it. This is the this is the amount I want to climb this mountain yeah so tell me who who you are. What you've done that makes this your Everest then a lot of the last twenty years I run a talent management company actors and and and did it from. I did the famous you know you were attorney thinking that you'd be you know maybe entertainment trying to clients conciliatory kind of thing and you'd be their protector and you're just shuffling paperwork in. WanNa kill yourself and so you know did the famous quit that and got a job you know unbeknownst to me where the first they had to do was. I was told that those to hold every floor the three floors of this building have a fridge in has you know free it's snapple and diet coke and coke and seven up and diet seven up and in Red Bull anti-rebel a great. She's like the storerooms there so each fridge has them like I'm putting that shit in the fridges so yeah to start and then come back when you're done and how's he really didn't give it about what you've done before this business yeah but yes. I've been doing that for twenty years and coaxing frigid exactly how having and move I just. I'm so good at that why you think they would have promoted me by now. I just love the way that the the temperature is always fill the bottles Donald Alternative label facing you get a job job at some point though they're going to believe in me and give me a shot okay so they gave you a shot event. They gave me a shot pretty quickly and the funny thing is the place that I did that. I left and came back to but now I own it so it is pretty neat to be the guy in the office. Talk about planning the flag and the summit. That's very cool. I am in the office in which I had to put a semi ripe banana and a copy of USA Today on the desk of twenty years ago. It does really when you wake up in the morning. That's gotTa feel good. It is really neat to go to that is a nice big office with a huge massive deck and that's pretty rare and so yeah it feels feels really good is it's. It's been a fantastically successful ride and and I think you know my father gave me a great piece of advice but you know you take your twenties figuring out what you WanNa do in your thirties getting really really good at it in your forty s making lots of money. Doing it and you're getting out of it yeah so I'm in I'm in the I'm in the thirty. s doing very get about getting the next decade you make a Fortune Ottaway fortune and then you've got six years to figure out how to make money got plenty of your the window is coming all right yeah so you're you're enjoying what you're doing. Love what I'm doing but you're also enjoying taking a break from it for a couple of weeks at least a couple of months. It's forty five days when lose it's a little terrifying. I mean definitely the the only fear I have isn't isn't losing per se but his losing and not having purposeful existence I have to find a new purposeful existence post vote which I do not anticipate but the post merge jury vote as perfectly fine right as this probably for most people though I anticipate and expect to vinyl three and family visit family visits a big highlight for me because they've allowed me to have my thirteen year old son. My family visit shows history. They've had a minor who needs it to be traveled with. Someone be the van. He's a he. We've watched it a massive survivor fan and we've watched it since he was four dream and so he's gotta hit the loved ones. I mean if I can somehow tell people that look honestly vote me. I thought me out that don't vote me out that night. Get into eight or nine lead us to. I don't care just get me to eight or whatever eight seven whatever number that is. That's a very big you know when you have the visualize where you want to be a big visualization for him running out from behind the bamboo who in the you know it's a big thing for me so excited about that. How did all of all of your work lead to survivor to this being the challenge. If you've been a fan of the show for a long time and the funny thing was that first stocking the fridge job I wasn't a kid you know so I was twenty eight right and and that was the first year of survivor yeah and so we both started together you know humble beginnings of the my first year was not quite as Momentus as survivors but I've I've literally watched the show you know grow and change as I've grown in change has been kind of interesting in different ways but so I've been a fan ever since and I think it was a combination of just different life events where you know talking to the TV screen for the fourteenth. I've just just apply for this thing and finally life you know. It looked like why aren't applying for this this thing and funny enough we had taken a vacation in Fiji partly welcome back. I know but partly because they had filmed here and so I think part in the back of my mind I didn't go to I I don't know where we are and have no idea where you are but in the back of my mind I think it was like wondering why they started to hint that they're saying I think it was the second time they filmed here. So I came here. Maybe the third three years ago and three years ago I would have been probably the first year that they were right to the season second against season they filmed here and I think indicated they were coming back or there was blogging or whatever so we took vacation here and it was so nice like okay because I think I had a little bit fear of I don't WanNa go to Cambodia and like I don't WanNa be bitten by. It was rough out there. I mean there are parts of that's not the advantage of their lords.

"Looking after well yes i mean if this was a normal election you'd be expecting the opposition to have a sweeping victory winning perhaps even a majority of the 23 state houses because as you know medeiros approval ratings are very very low the countries in the middle of a social and economic collapse soaring inflation shortage of food medicine but this is not a normal election because of the exact same time since the summer you've really seen the autocratic measures from a dearth government increase and they know to fear a big opposition victory here and so in the days leading up to this contest we've seen the government taking a very active role and tried to suppress today's vote and so it really remains to be seen whether or not the opposition can overcome a lot of these late maneuvers that the government is taken to try to keep people from voting or to try tribe disqualify their votes so let's move on now now to liberia last week there was an election to replace the country's first female president ellen johnsonsirleaf she is also the first elected female head of state on the continent of africa she's stepping down after two terms first we'll if you'd remind us why people keep saying that this election is historic and then where things stand sure this is a historic election because this would be liberia's first democratic transfer power in more than seventy years that's an incredible thing you had twenty candidates in this race it appears to have narrowed down now two two of a soccer superstar george weah and the incumbent vice president himself uh joseph boakye and so right now it appears that neither will be able to get the fifty percent necessary so they'll go to a runoff next month and will actually see that milestone perhaps achieved uh then and things are not going as well in kenya which is an east africa protester continuing over the election of their president a huto can yatta in august and then three weeks after he was elected the supreme court nullified the election calling for a do over so what it's been going on there well so the big news out of kenya this week was that rilo dingo the main opposition leader dropped out of the race because he's claiming that nothing has actually been fixed the reasons that the supreme court annulled the first.
