"But I don't know if the freshman behind him is he's not a generational talent. But I wonder if that's what's holding Clemson back. I think a lot of things are holding Clemson back. And again, they could end up the season 11 or 12 and one. And some people would look back at this conversation and think I'm crazy. They know you are. And Clemson plays in a league that doesn't generate a lot of buzz anymore. So it comes down to usually a one or two game seasons. And they lost and they lost badly. And I think dabo Sweeney has been hurt badly, by the way, he's handled coordinators. He's lost two really good coordinators to other schools. One got fired yesterday, so he may be back soon. And he lost Brent Bennett, who it was a generational defensive coordinator to go to Oklahoma, not sure that was a good idea either. And he gave guys a raises. He upped them. He hired from within internally. So I think that was a questionable call, but that's dabbler Sweeney. And the problem at Clemson, when they don't make the playoffs, it's like Alabama. It's considered a disaster of season. And I think tomorrow night when and I know you're waiting eagerly for both of the election results and the CFP reveal. But this will be the first time I think in the history of the CFE since 2014 that you don't have Alabama or Clemson in there. More likely to make the playoffs TCU or Oregon. I think it's TCU because I think they can let me use the cliche of the year control their own destiny. Because if TCU wins the big 12 and even with one loss they might have an argument, Oregon's problem is a 46 point loss to Georgia. And I know in the idea that Bo Nick said, well, I think we have a much better game against him now as an understatement. Of course, of course they would. That was Dan lanning's first game. But, you know, think about Georgia, Georgia has probably the two best wins in the country this year against Oregon and against Tennessee Saturday. So I think Oregon has to hope for a lot of things. And hoping that I don't think they can outdo Tennessee. Even though you'll hear the nonsensical chairman of the committee, talk on Tuesday night that we value that extra value point to the to the conference championship.

"And sitting on a bar stool for ten minutes is not comfortable. Imagine doing that for 60 minutes of an SEC football game wearing those pants, man, that is something it's something we should all take private and admire. In terms of stand up comedy, I mean, everybody has, you know, especially in the south college football jokes. But what jokes, what type of jokes work the best, when you're in this part of the country. Listen, Paul, I don't know if you can see over my left shoulder here, but I had to take down two signs just in my background. None of the jokes that I would say would be appropriate for the family family friendly ears on this network. Things have been going lately. I'm not sure it would really matter, but go ahead. Yeah, so hold on, real quick. I mean, did somebody call in yesterday and loosely threaten to kill Jimbo Fisher on the show? I'm asking you the questions. Okay. Fair enough. You know, jokes about auburn are always great. I mean, you can't really make the 41 year jokes at UGA fans anymore. You can't really make any jokes, DGA fans anymore, because that is one of the most fragile fan bases I think I've ever been around. But no, I think with the auburn coaching search and some of the stuff I will say, I love nobody rallies the troops more in just the first quarter and only the first quarter of games than auburn has in the past couple of weeks. But my God, like a J.Lo engagement. They just refuse to finish the deal going into the second, third and fourth quarter of those games. You know, they were so they were so happy to get rid of Bo nicks. Have you seen those numbers? I wonder if they'd like. He's like a husband candidate. Yeah, Bo nix, it's he's been gone to like 17 touchdowns and one interception. He's a different person. I've completely lost track of this conversation. It's so insane. Chris, finally, Georgia. I knew there was a team there. There you go. We have Griffith on later. And I know he's beside himself. He was so proud to be covering the number one team in the country. What's the skinny on the dogs right now? First of all, I love Mike. He's a great dude. He does a great job with what he does. I will say, is this part of your new comedy routine? Or are you just no, no, I love Mike. Mike was like a very, very, very complimentary person to me and said some nice things to make media days. I think Mike's a great guy. But no, so with Georgia, it is funny to watch. If you have sat here and you've watched and I've grown up in this state, my entire life. I've lived here and in Atlanta for forever. And I've seen this fan base be the champions of August for years and years and years. And then I got the scene to the champions of January and last season a year ago. And it was a fantastic team. And I still think Georgia probably is the best team in the country as of right now. But man, you know, it's the same thing I was saying earlier for about Tennessee. I was saying this to Jordan pants a while ago, that whole, let's anoint the Heisman Trophy winner. This team is the greatest team, possibly of all time, Peter burns, in September. When you've played Kent State and you played, was it wasn't the Citadel? Who was Sanford? And you of course they shut out Stanford. But I do think that going away from Athens and of course, they have somehow got a chance to go back to Athens now. This will be the 6th game of the season, I believe, for this team. And it's outside. This is only the only one time they've gone out of the state to play a football game. Man, going into the year, you have the easiest strength of schedule out of every team in the SEC. It was ranked almost in the 60s, which is almost impossible to do in the SEC. To struggle this badly, this early on, it's probably concerning. I think they'll be fine. I think they're trying to find some stuff. I think they got a few receivers out on offense, which they won't really agree with this, but that does impact games. As you might have seen last January. So I think they'll be fine in the long run. But yeah, there's definitely some areas for concern. They don't run the football at all. They don't run the football well, and that's like a staple of a Kirby smart offense. And they just don't do that this year. Excellent stuff. Chris can be seen at a comedy whatever near you. Thank you, Chris. Good to talk to you again. We will stay in touch. And we are heading to a break right now, I need a drink, Randy. A lot happening here. "Tuesday on college sports now when I joined roddy Jones and Stephen hartzell to recap tonight's game and everything else that happened this weekend in college football. Subscribe to CSM wherever you get your podcasts, follow along at CS now tweets. 5 wide, empty backfield, motioning in from the sideline is Bucky Irving. He has it up the field across the 40 he gets into Stanford territory a huge 25 yard run for Bucky Irving continuing a great start for him on the ground. Another sweep there and now Bo Nick's getting them up to the line again. They want to use tempo after the big play. From the near hash line trips right to wide receivers to the other side first and ten from their own 49 mix has a clean pocket. He'll quickly get it away complete to cam McCormick. He goes out of bounds inside the 50. This is what we talked about going up tempo and giving Bo nicks a clear picture. And again, when you get a defense that plays as much man as Stanford does over 50% of the time on the season, you could use a lot of these pre snap motions to give your quarterback a look and to give your receiver some leverage on trailing defenders. Second and 6, four 30 on the clock. Nix is gonna hand off it is Irving again trying to push the pile he is getting plenty of yards after contact that one a 7 yard gain up the middle. Running backs on both sides doing a great job of erasing tacklers in the hole. That time Ethan bonner, the corner coming from the short side of the field. Irving does a great job putting the foot in the ground and making a missing space. First and ten from the 38th of Stanford, approaching four minutes left in the first quarter, rewind receivers to the left of Knicks. You'll hand it off to Irving again, trying to push his way up the middle and honking for. Great job there prying open space by the center Alex Forsyth. One of the important leaders on this group up front. The ducks haven't been without their fair share of injuries up front. They went through three starting offensive line combinations in four games leading up to this, but foresight has been that steady heartbeat in the middle for them doing a great job moving Anthony Franklin the attack on that last play. It says a lot about this group. The offensive line that they have at least 6 players with a hundred snaps and still have had that protection. Second down in three from the 31 of Stanford Tripp's left for Bo mix, he fakes the handoff has plenty of space heaves it to the end zone looking for chase coda and incomplete just a little wide pulling him out of bounds. Trying a lot of that deep double move action down the field. That time Bo niche rolling away from his throwing arm. So tough to get those hips around and try and put that ball on a rope when you have two defenders back there going towards the corner of the end zone. Sticking two shots to the end zone both times. Did not come away with 6, it's third and three at the 31 of Stanford. Now in the backfield for organs, we wide receivers are going to motion from outside the hash to making it a condensed formation with three 18 on the clock. Nicks takes the shotgun snap fakes the handoff or actually will hand it off to whittington this time. He runs toward the right hits a tackler head on and picks up the first down getting near the red zone. We got a whistle here by the official winning C is a flag down in the field. Cold holding on Marcus Harper and that time Stanford so much got made of last year gave up 236 yards rushing a game. And so they made the switch to a four down defense going into this year for Lance Anderson's group Stanford for the longest time has been a three down. You got him in three down there so they motioned everyone in and tried to run counter, but when you got those pullers sometimes you get a hold and back up. Sean dollars in the backfield four wide receivers three to the left of Nick's third and 13 from the 41 of Stanford. That's Nick's. Looks to the sideline. And prepares for the shotgun snap. Drops back. Heaves it again down the sideline and incompletes was intended for Troy Franklin, his first target today and again threw it out of bounce. And Troy Franklin had his corner stacked. Wide receiver managed to get on top of him when we had free space, but that ball from Bo nix bent too far out of bounds went over the shoulder there. If he just puts that out in front of him, he's hitting his head in the goalpost. So Nick's had his receiver's open, has not been able to find them successfully. In a couple of these explosive play opportunities. The offense is staying on the field here. Look for a potential punt by the quarterback. He may back up to 7 yards. Third and 13 from the 41. Nick's takes the staff and he will indeed punt it end over end. It bounces near the 15 and will roll to about the 7 or the 6. And that is where Stanford will take over. It's a good personnel game to play because you got the returner off the field by putting your offense back on. No one to worry about covering down on. And when you've got a quarterback, you can count on to pooch punt one of those down near inside the ten, you give your defense a good chance with the offense backed up. And why not? It's just got to be a fun thing, I think, too. It's always fun. Quarterbacks are like everyone else. They want to show off alternate skills that they've got. I'm sure Bo nicks has been in Kenny dillingham. The offensive coordinators here got his moment. Stanford ball, when we come back, this is college football Saturday night powered by learfield. "Padge up next from Alabama. Hello, mister page. Hey, Paul, doing all right, I hope. Good. I'm going to give you a little information on the NIL, but first I was going to tell you, you were talking about the broadcasters. I think while you were punching on the top prior, all of us old guys who were actually broadcasting, we were out smoking cigarettes. That's what we were doing to make our voice. So we could sound like we can answer. That's where we do. It's like a newspaper guy, because I never smoked. Well, that's why we were doing, but anyway, I was going to tell you the name of our well, that might be drinking and smoking, but. Collective that we've got is called high tide traditions. That's the name of it. And it is handled. You probably know this is by retired lawyer who's handling it for the university. And if it has, I think it's been announced by on the hey coach, if it had and there will be this week and we had an interview with Phillips Dutch the other day and he mentioned his name, Larry Morris. Is that right? Yeah, Larry Morris, that's his name. Yes, yes. He'd been around a while and he knows what he's doing. And that's what's happening. I know that he's already got this was impressive to me. A freshman lineman has already been given the signing deal for on Monday or in IL, I don't know for how much, but he was given one. And they've got a good website for all of the Alabama fans that would like to look at it and it's a high tide traditions. I think dot com and it's got a lot of rules on there. It does say a little bit about what you were talking about. The lines of what they know and it's saying pretty much that the compensation can not be structured in a way that encourages or solicits a perspective student path lead. To enroll at a particular institution. Now that stated on there, not whether everybody's that you're into that, I doubt. But that's what it says. And it's tells a little bit more about it. I'm trying to get involved with it a little bit more because you know I'm being all of this. And I think Nick Kelly and I'm sure you know him is the one that's done the story on it. So he can tell you more about it than I can. But these two guys that you've just had on about coach say, but he had it pretty much on the head and I haven't been around him much in the last year or two, but whatever is happening. He will conform. He may not like it. And he may not tell you much about it, but eventually he'll make it work towards our advantage of ours being Alabama, and of course towards the student. And he loves the kids that comes in. And he takes care of the guys. That's one thing I will say. And another thing that I want to say about coaches, I've learned because I've met so many of them through the years. I don't now I don't ever really have an idea of before they get there of what they might be or not be, for instance, Butch Jones from Tennessee. I had heard so much bad about him when he got there and how he wasn't very good, but he was a nicest gentleman, but I think I'd ever met. And Butch Jones, and I knew much before and after. I got to know Butch a lot better when he went to Alabama. And he was a different person because he just didn't have the enormous pressure that came with being a head coach in that community. And I think Butch handled it terribly, and I'm glad he got a second chance. But he knows he really did. Sometimes he knew that too. Yeah. He came here when he came here. He said he wanted to learn and he was given a second chance. Another Arkansas school in smaller schools, giving his and I'm not saying Butch Jones couldn't have ever made it, but he dug himself so many holes in Knoxville that he literally couldn't find his way out of them. Let's continue with more of your phone calls here and pat is in Georgia. Hi, Paul. I wanted to ask you a question about Gus mills on and Bo nicks. I always felt like somebody from upstairs was telling us the playback because even when the chemistry wants it working with the team, he wouldn't put anybody else in, for instance, Joey gatewood. He was actually going to run onto the field and now you're right. Of course you're right, pat. And by the way, next Thursday night at the draft when Malik Willis goes in the first round, a lot of auburn fans are going to go, how did that guy get away from us? But in fairness to Gus mazan, I'm surprised Gus was really able to go to lunch and make his selections by himself without Jimmy rain telling him what to do. Yeah. So I just always thought it was just science that he was. But this is a long tradition of boosters. You know, sometimes the boosters make good decisions. Back in the day, everyone used to criticize Bobby louder, but he was a smart guy. He did not let emotion get in the way. Okay, don't hang up on me either. Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy rain thinks he's the football coach. And that's why I think in some ways he's done more harm for the program than good. Yes. I finished your book. Oh, you did. Okay. It was great. It was great. I loved it. I loved them. Yes, I did, and I love them. I find it just brought back happy memories. Thanks, Paul..

"Had, where would know us who all have played on that defense and like you'd still have some guys that probably you would have had to find a way into too deep, but is it a question of, okay, we're going to we're going to build off of a blueprint there or what is the things where you look at because obviously you have, as you said, a pretty good offensive line. But now in terms of quarterback, you got to transfer bone X who you know a bunch about, you got some other guys who have, you know, were highly recruited when they came in, how quickly do you feel like you can put your really stamp on this or is it just kind of the next whatever 13 practices, hey, let's figure out what we actually got as opposed to maybe what we thought we had in these guys. Well, maybe we looked at them as recruits. Yeah, I think there's still a lot of time to figure that out. We've had two practices, but not a single practice yet in pads. You know, so a lot of that comes out football is really a game to be meant to be played with shoulder pads and a helmet, you know, and once we really see over the next 13 practices, what we have, I think that's when you start to curtail what you do, you start with a base, you know, you have a foundation of here's what we're going to be built around, but the tweaks, the changes here and there, a lot of that starts with figuring out where your strengths are and what your depth looks like. You know, I was the high school coach for three years before I ever became a college football coach and every year you would change a lot based on your personnel and even at Georgia, you know, we were really a strong dominant team defensively that a strong back end, you know, two years ago and probably played to those drinks a little bit and then this past year, we were really strong in the front 7 and really played to those strengths. So we're going to adapt to our personnel, whether it be, you know, the front, whether it be quarterback, I'm really excited about the competition we have there between Butterfield Thai Thompson mix in that room, but still too early to say what we have. I think we have to keep evaluating that. It used to be when a new coach took over the only way he could really build up the roster was through recruiting. Now we have the transfer portal, and we've seen, I mean, there's a lot of coaches taking over at high profile programs this year and some of them went hard on the portal and some of them not so much. I mean, you mentioned Bo nicks, but in general, like when you came in, how did you decide between we're going to load up on transfers for right now or we want to save those more for high school players? I think we have to keep evaluating the two to three years from now. I think people who really know the model and what it looks like. We want to use the portal to enhance our program, but that's not the only place that we want to live. I still believe in developing talent from the ground up and bringing guys in as high school players to build your culture. That being said, we brought some guys in that we're really excited about that we really had intimate knowledge about, you know, and I think some programs will make mistakes by going and reaching for guys that they don't know a lot about and bringing them in and hoping to fit. But you really don't know if they're going to be a fit until you have a great understanding of your current team, your current roster and the people you're bringing in. So for us, it's about meeting the guys on our team here, really getting to know who we have in this room connecting with those guys because that's going to be the group that wins and loses us football games. And then we want to be able to add those pieces to the puzzle, you know, through the portal, it can make us a little bit better here and there. Dan, like you have some very recognizable names that you brought in. A couple of guys come back from the NFL, tosh lupoi who, I think you worked with at Alabama, and he has a ton of experience recruiting on the West Coast. Your O line guy, Adrian clemm, former UCLA assistant, been with the Steelers of past couple of years. Obviously a ton of ton of experience recruiting on the West Coast. Your offensive coordinator, Kenny dillingham. I don't think you guys over, I thought you did, but I guess you didn't overlap at ASU, but he's an Arizona guy. So when you assembled this staff, I'm curious, at what point, as a coach who was on people's radar for a while, like, when did you look at Kenny? Was it, you know, going back to the Memphis days or was it way before where you go like, hey, if I ever become a head coach, he's going to be that guy. How are you managing Georgia? Defense, but also this is going to be my blueprint. The guys and what I'm looking for. One thing I've found at least progressing in my career is if you say, okay, I'm going to do this when I get the opportunity you'll never truly be prepared. So one thing I learned from coach smart and coach Sabin both is take detailed notes as you go and adapt as you go. But whenever I came across an elite coach or somebody I thought was a game changer, you know, I made a middle note and going all the way back to my time as a GA at Arizona state. I had a list in my iPhone of potential coaching candidates I would hire down by position what they look like and fortunately a lot of these guys own staff have worked with..

"DJ, Paul find bomb sports guru, love you man, love the show, keep doing what you're doing. Appreciate it. Thank you very much. That is quite some company there. Especially stern squirrel is up next. Man, I really appreciate the black hat ringleader taking my call today. And I got it on my Greg pardon me. You got one over now? That's good. I like Greg's call. I always do and appreciate his service. But I don't know where he got the facts that Jim got kicked off for saying someone could about you and I because that's my Kim said that this incorrect. And he just got his facts wrong. And not all Trump supporters got picked off Twitter. You know what I mean? Well, no, I mean, he got 85. He didn't vote. I don't think that many people got deep. Kicked off Twitter. I think it was more to it than that to get kicked out during that time. Maybe being a conspiracy theorist or something, I don't know. But that's neither here nor there. Your New York Times guy. I'm sure he's a friend of yours and we have seen things bad about friend years, but I've always thought that was the liberal Fisher app. And once you agree that The New York Times used to be a well respected newspaper, maybe 20, 30 years ago. He's not there anymore. He started there in the 70s. Yeah, I mean, there was a time when The New York Times was really the newspaper of record. I would agree with you. I mean, the only from an editorial. It's difficult to read. It's a joke now. And lastly, I appreciate the call from the gentleman yesterday that also did time any verified the screwdriver possibility. I didn't realize your show was so popular in prisons, but I could see where it would be. I was blown away. That was Cory. I was blown away by that guy. I know of prisoners who have listened because I've been to prisons and but I didn't realize it was what do you think makes it what do you think makes it this show so popular? Because it's like a reality show. You know what I mean? It's nothing that was scripted. They don't know what the next caller is going to say. The shout out to those guys. You know what I mean? I mean, if this show brings them enjoyment, then Marco said, I hope they get to list four hours of it. Then they say that if you disrupt a show, it was possible if you get shanked. Yeah, no. He said, you don't want to get on the bad side of the bomb show followers. Yeah. And I didn't realize just screwdrivers were just laying everywhere in prisons. I mean, I really didn't know they were as prevalent as we made a sound like this. You didn't know that squirrel because usually I've been to prisons where I felt like I was at Lowe's. Well, maybe they should use the big battery operated cordless screwdrivers that use a little two inch little bit that you stick up in there. I mean, it'd be hard to stab somebody with that. So that's just a suggestion. Maybe cut down on crime inside there. But now, like I said, I was just blown away. If you were so popular inside the jails, but again, what would you be? If we end up doing a prison tour this spring, I thought we'd take with you. As long as I could leave with tours over. I told the story one day I was at a prison in Alabama and yeah, everybody started talking to me and I kind of walked over and I got about three or four guards jumped in the way, said you're not supposed to go talk to the prisoners. I'm like, well, why not? Wow. The only time I had to be around prison my company sent me an 89 to the Chino institute for men down somewhere around San Diego or Los Angeles. And I remember it was on the always that's where the criminals went. They got prosecuted by sergeant Friday. What was that show we used to watch back in those days? What was name of dragnet? Pregnant? Yeah, yeah. He was blown away that I was in the Chino instant for me, but I was only there for two or three hours. Thank goodness. But yeah, put me down for the tour and put me down for the reality show the big brother house when we do that. I don't know why. I just think that would be Hollywood goal. Is Joe and lynching Columbian house? I think so. Right now we've got you now. We've got Joe. What's things get really quiet? We'll start casting it, but I want you to search them real good for weapons before we go into the past. By the way, who else do you think we need to get involved if you had to get two or three other people? We need Larry in there. We need a man. We need Matt. We need red dog. Yeah. Give me about three or four minutes. No, no, no, rush. We gotta get the contract done first. Yeah, but put me down. Have a good weekend. Thank you so much. Great to hear from you. Pad is up next in Georgia. Yes. Hey, Paul. Hey there. Another question for you. I grew up on all of them saying, I'm still in all the same. And I commented back in November that when Bo nicks got hurt and was recovering from an ankle injury, you made a comment that you didn't think he was going to come back. To all of them, he may transfer that kind of taking aback while I come back because I didn't think that there was any way he would leave, but I was just curious to know why did you make that comment? What did you know? Well, what I knew then was as you go around the SEC and I go around with a bunch of people who do games and are more inside than I am because I'm sitting in a studio every day. They were telling me that there was a disconnect between Beau and the coaching staff. And it was bad early on and then it got better when auburn got on that role and then it came undone again. And I just think he wanted a fresh start. Now, some of the coaches have already changed. But that's what I was basing it on..

"Get a cool Christmas message from an athlete and all by the way also that money goes to help people in need. You got it. There you have it. Fans meet idols dot com is the website. Steve Kennedy. Before I let you go, Steve, I'm just curious, you know, companies like yours, obviously, so grateful for the work you guys and your athletes have decided to do here. I live in Nashville, so not quite affected, but close enough to be scared. And obviously there's a lot of people in need. But when you look at the growth of your particular industry, where's the future headed for people for companies like yours where you're looking to allow an athlete to maximize their name image and likeness in their profitability at such a young age? Yeah, it's a great question when I get terrific opportunities like what you all have offered to be on the radio television and interviews. This question comes almost every single time. And Brian, I think that if anybody starts to speculate on what this potential really is going to be really kind of guessing, we all are at this moment. This is a market that suddenly has become available to us in the last 5 months. I think when you think about name image and likeness, we always tell folks, look at it, we offer to student athletes two different ways to make money from their NIL. So the first way is going to be those brand endorsement deals which breed and that's where you're seeing all the catch all the headlines out there. And we come in and say, hey, look, we're not going to be the company that's going to be the matchmaker between athlete and Brandon endorsement dealers 50 of those guys out there already. We're over here trying to do something different, which is help them monetize their fan base. And that actually winds up helping the majority of student athletes that might not have the big social media following or might not play the right sport or not play be the right position. Or the right number on the depth chart. Because everybody's got fans and fans don't care about how many followers you got. They're already a fan of you because you already are. So we're out here trying to help the majority of folks make money off their fan base. So I don't know that there's really anything to benchmark against what the value of a collegiate student athletes name image and likeness is their brand endorsement deals. You can easily say, well, there's professional sports out there. And there's plenty of numbers just find that. But these are teenagers and young people and we don't quite know what that number could actually be like. So great and I'm sorry I'm giving you a little bit of a dancer, but I think if anybody gives you a straight up answer said, this is what it's going to be. They probably really are guessing at it just as good as I am. The website is fans meet idols dot com and all of the money raised between now and the end of the calendar year for both the athletes and of course the company will go to the American Red Cross to help in some tornado relief across all the states that have been dealing with this. Steve Kennedy, thank you so much, man. We do appreciate it. Thanks for the platform. Appreciate y'all see ya. Absolutely. Fans meet idols dot com is the website. Go check that out. There's no limits to what this name image and likeness thing is going to turn into as you just heard right there. Brain goal in for Paul find on here on the Paul find mom show ESPN radio 855-242-7285. The big news of course Bo Nick's transferring to Oregon, Austin Davis is your new offensive coordinator for the auburn tigers. Let's head to the phones. I'm man. Listen, I'm a longtime listener first time host. I can't do this show without talking to you, I, man. Let me handle it here, look at here. Paul goes up. He throws a deep path through the defensive tackle hits him in the leg. He goes to the tent. And look who comes out. And you toting the mail, I'm talking about for three and a half hours. This all been on you. It's all been on you. I mean, you just transfer portal K where would you ever needed you last year? Nobody asked me last year. Feeling in a talking about transport. I mean, this is all kind of Coke because kids want to go with and want to go. And sometimes talking about tradition and the integrity of the team and beloved the team and that went out a long, long. That was in the Bob Hope Bing Crosby. There has not been very few players that go into schools because that was their lifelong dream that going with it fit in an specific educational part. They're going to football. And that's what this has turned into football. And you know, thinking about transfer, you probably ought to transfer half of the callers you've had in the day, the band remains. If I spotted them the first a, the ale to be in the end, they'll have them couldn't spare Alabama without are they in? Alabama, Alabama. I mean, you know, that's who they are. You're talking half a year already is right now. It's called in today and probably tomorrow and the rest of the week. That's all they know. You talk about the weather. They just buddy it. They remember football. Football. They played the favorite Nissan. You know, they didn't give them the husband, trophies. Now, how come trophies? National championships. Kiss the wings. Kiss aways. Get them spell element for you. Don't throw them hard curve. Just give them the L, the B and M so I spell element. Then they hang up on there. Just click make a noise when you hang that phone up you like the yeast. You can't really do it on cell phone because first thing you do is you're correct glass. Damage. You damage. You know, in the inner eye open. Let's talk about that. All right. A lot of this comes across looking like people sponsoring these kids to a degree right. Sure. All right now, what's the flip side of that coin? How many of these kids are going to get these sponsors when these sponsors are investing in these kits? And it becomes little loopholes. And maybe some of these kids don't pan out and it gets back into kind of the old days where maybe the agents receive people around to families kind of thing. The game has changed in front of us in the last two years. And it's not the same gaming. It's just not same game. So you just kind of sit back enjoy it because it is football, but maybe you're looking at the underbelly of it and it's getting ugly or not clear every day. But it is football. So you gonna be here? Tomorrow and baby. I'm here all week, yeah. Give me a break. And you're not worried brethren. I am not related nor am I Greg mcelroy. I don't know what the dial says, but that is not me. I am a non in fact, great. Where do these people say that's what they do? They come in and they try and they try and talk about Alabama. And they know you're not his brother. They know your break. Who are you born in like the 80s? Because Brady is the 80s coming. Me too. How did I actually break this kind of 80s? He was Joe Tom does. I mean, you know, male? I mean, we didn't have any Braden's or Joshua Jacobs.

"And I don't mean to be rude, but I don't see that happening. So again, we've seen transfers win championships in the SEC. Jacob coker, Joe burrow, Cam Newton. This is not like a new thing. The amount of movement is new, and we have to get used to that. But I think once we get used to it, we'll realize that college football is just as great as it's always been. Our Saturdays and our favorite stadiums are just as great as they've always been. We're going to sit in the same row in the same shirt, singing the same fight song. Tailgate in the same place. It's all gonna be the same. And the fact that the quarterback transferred or the left tackle got some money from the local barbecue joint or none of these factors that we are all scared of because we're scared to change, I don't think any of it has any impact on our fandom and how we celebrate college football on Saturdays in particular in the south. So I would say best of luck to you Bo, can't wait to see what you do at auburn. Or at Oregon, excuse me. With all the new pieces there and all that Nike money, can't wait to see. Can't wait to see what happens. I think Bo nicks did something for bone nicks. And he's going to Oregon because of it. And you look at spitzer rattler going to South Carolina. Max Johnson came out of the portal from LSU to going to Texas a and M, we don't know where Zack calls out is going to go. Harrison Bailey left Tennessee this year. We've seen Dylan Gabriel go to UCLA from UCF. We've seen Adrian Martinez Lee from Nebraska to go to Kansas state. Michael pennock's Indiana, the guy who won all those games for Indiana, he's transferring to Washington. It's okay. It's just a part of the game. He's got to be used to it now. And the coaches are the ones that have to deal with all the drama. The coaches are the ones that have to figure out how to manage rosters. And you know what? They get paid 8, 9, $10 million to do that. So my bleeding heart does not go out to the college football coaches. To you fans? I don't think there's gonna be any change. And speaking of a transfer Quinn ewers, of course, from Ohio State down to Texas, Jack and Florida wants to talk Quinn years. Jack, welcome to the Paul fine bombshell. Yeah, great. Thank you very much. I watch our Greg mcelroy say that the problem with Texas football players is out. They're already developed by the time they get to college because that high school programs in Texas are so great. And then they don't develop very well after they get to a place like Texas. Now I was wondering about Quinn ewers. I saw him play in the Texas high school All-Star Game the national state championship game last year. And he looked like John Elway's arm, Dan Marino's release. He looks like an NFL quarterback already. I mean, in terms of the finesse and arm angles and arm talent strength, I was curious what you thought about whether you think or there is any discussion about whether he may already be like a finished product and maybe it's going to go to Texas and be overhyped and fall into the same ridiculous pattern that Texas football has been in for the past 30 years, which is super hyped expectations, but delivering nothing. I was just curious, what are your thoughts might be about that? Sure. Thank you, Jack. I appreciate the call. I will say, there's no way to apply this to Quinn, yours, like, individually here. I don't think that's a thing that we can do. But in general, I grew up in an interest of full transparency here. I grew up in Dallas and Austin for about 6 years of my childhood and played middle school, freshman year of high school ball in Austin and did a lot of scouting work for rivals and for Athlon sports down in Texas. And I will say that there is more investment in the development of a prospect in the state of Texas than anywhere else in America. I don't think that's I don't think I'm going out on a limb by saying that. I think Florida has slightly more talent in general. But nowhere are they more committed to the holistic football program at the high school level than in Texas? There's just no question about that. So are the players more developed? Have they had more training physically, nutrition, all that other stuff? It's absolutely possible that that's what's happening in Texas, especially compared to the rest of the country. Does that apply to quinoa? I have no idea. It's no clue if he's maxed out his potential. But that is not a, that is not an unpopular sentiment among experts and scouts that I've talked to and I've been around that will tell you that the players in Texas get more from their programs than anybody else in America. And does that mean you're fully developed and don't have as much room to grow? You know, you can point to Vince Young. It took him some time to develop. He definitely developed in the college game. And then didn't develop at all in the NFL. But again, you could pull one name and make it totally anecdotal and say, oh, this whole entire big philosophy applies to Quinn ewers. I just don't think we can do that. Is it fair to say Texas has missed on some players, mis evaluated? Hired the wrong guys, maybe recruited star rankings instead of guys they can develop me, sure. Totally fair to make that comparison. And they better fix it because in a couple years, when they joined the SEC, the recruiting and the talent and the weekend and week out grind in this conference is very different than in the big 12. So.

"Where every Saturday is an opportunity on the road to greatness. No matter if you're out there playing your hardest, or cheering the loudest from the sidelines, tailgating in the parking lot or your favorite spot to watch the game. Goodyear nose passion is what drives us forward all the way to the playoffs. That's the road that moves us. Goodyear, more driven. The pride passion then pageantry of college football lives here. This is the Paul Fein bomb show our four podcast. Good Monday evening, Paul fine bob show here on ESPN radio, my name is not qualified on. My name is brayden Gaul. I am filling in for Paul this week honored to be here Merry Christmas. Happy Hanukkah. The Festivus for the rest of us, whatever it is you celebrate. We hope you have a wonderful and awesome week. Relaxing, spending time with the in laws, maybe watching some bowl games, you got NFL games on right now. Spoiler alert, the Raiders, up 7 to nothing on the Cleveland Browns. That's right, raiders and browns. At 6 o'clock on a Monday, I already into the second quarter. You got the Myrtle Beach bowl, of course, between old dominion and Tulsa spoiler alert there. I know all of you. Eager to find out the score. Tulsa, winning. 30 to 14. I believe, is the score in that one. 855-242-7285. We will speak with Steve Kennedy coming up in a few minutes of fans meet idols. It's a it's an NIL company that is marketing, athletes directly to fans in the marketplace. They are doing some really good work for some tornado relief. So we'll give you a chance to see what they're doing coming up in just a few minutes. But the big news in the SEC, of course, bone nicks announcing announcing that he is transferring to Oregon, which I don't think was that big of a reach for Bo nicks. Again, he will join Kenny dillingham, the offensive coordinator at Oregon, of course, was the offensive coordinator at auburn in 2019 when Bo nix won freshman of the year beat Alabama had that miraculous throw against the Oregon ducks in that first game with 9 seconds to go to win and sort of start his career on this rocket ship path that probably most auburn fans think never really truly materialized. Obviously, the win over Bama, the throw against LSU this year was, I don't know about you guys, but one of the most ridiculous throws, if not the most spectacular play of the entire season. I don't know if there's another play this season. I mean, Michigan, Ohio State. I mean, Bryce young against Georgia, you start to go through these, you know, these big games of the season, and I'm not sure there was a more spectacular play than Bo Nick's rolling around doing Bo Nick's like things and throwing a touchdown pass in the swamp or in the Bayou there. In Death Valley to beat LSU. And I think obviously there's a lot of positives with Bo nicks to remember here. But he went through a ton. And so all the negative stuff that the questions we have and the lack of development and not playing within the offense and maybe not delivering on the 5 star potential. I think a lot of that is tied to some of the situational stuff he had to deal with. Some of it's on him. There's no question about it. But I think a lot of it's tied to, well, my second season where I'm supposed to develop and have an entire off season to work with my coaching staff. I was stuck at home on Zoom. I think that's a factor. I don't think you can overlook that. Then oh by the way, going into my third year, I've my coach is fired and I got a new coach. So I think Bo Nick's unfortunately for him. And maybe fortunately for the future of his career moving to Oregon, I think he's in better shape. I think this was a movie he had to make for himself to be honest with you. And so go play for Oregon. You know, who knows what Dan lining is going to do. I think it's an interesting move by Oregon to hire a 35 year old defensive coordinator that's never been a head coach. I think that is an interesting strategy. I give Oregon credit for that. And going to get Bo next, who, frankly, the Oregon ducks, the only thing they didn't have last year. With all due respect to Anthony Brown, the thing they didn't really have was that next level quarterback. That's the thing they did not have. Bone nicks, with all of his flaws, has that kind of ability when it's good. And so we'll see. We'll see. I think in the portal has become this big thing that everybody scared of and terrified of. And I think it's again, it's like a scolding scorching hot tub. It is going to be mildly uncomfortable. When you first get in. But by and large, you're going to feel good when you're hanging out in there. And I think that's how college football fans need to look at. Name image and likeness and portal and all this other stuff. It doesn't affect your life. If auburn has a good quarterback and bow next goes on to do things, like the only thing that can truly affect you here in this situation if you're an auburn fan, is if bow nicks and Oregon beats auburn in the national championship game or in the college football playoff..

"It's just not. So is it happening more often? Do we need to get used to that? Yes, we do. But I don't think it's an indictment of necessarily that deep psychologically. I don't think it's an indictment of parenting or listen, is this generation different than my generation different than the generation before, of course? That's just the way life works. But if you'll notice, it's 15 years of national championships in the SEC. And again, three out of those four programs won a national title with a transfer at quarterback. JD in Alabama, JD, welcome to the qualifying bombshell. What's up? Thank you, brother, for taking my call. I just want to take time to. Thank Bo nicks for his time and all of his hard work and effort at auburn university and for the football team. It was 5 star coming out of high school, could have gone anywhere he wanted to, but came to auburn and manned history years that he played, I thought it was great. And I appreciated it. He was a gamer. He was a tough guy. It's really easy for everybody to sit back and say, oh, look at this guy. Look what he's doing. He's done this. Man, when you've got 6 5 300 pound man chasing you and hitting you, the guy that he's already did great. And before I go off into the blueberry patch on demand, say, just say something crazy, does this? Landing though, man that there is a lot of album people out there that really appreciating what you did and how you still think about the LSU game this year. The old miss game, I missed this. Misses rung ability in that Alabama game I really did man, but I wishing the best and I don't know what went on behind the scenes, but I do know what he did on the field. And what he did on the field really do appreciate it and on behalf of a lot of other friends who do appreciate that we wish all the luck in the world at Oregon. Hope he has a great future. And always love to God. That's all I want to say, brother. Thank you. Thank you, JD. That's a classy call right there. Love peace and love for bow nicks. Do well on the West Coast, my man. My.

"Like personally, from like a pure soap opera standpoint, it would have been so much fun to see bow next go play for link if an illness. How much fun would that have been? Now, does he fit into the system with the way he wants to get out of the pocket and run around and sort of go off script? Maybe not. But forget about that. Who cares? Who cares? Who cares? Let's just have fun. Where would bow nicks career been the most fulfilling for us the fans? And let's be honest, it's about us. This is entertainment for us. So if he goes to old miss, he goes to LSU, who I know they've got miles Brendan coming back now out of the portal. Very few players go into the portal and come out in the same uniform, very strange with miles Brennan. But he could have gone to a and M, we have no clue who's going to start for a and M although they picked up max Johnson, former LSU player. Of course, out of the portal. Everything's out of the portal these days, guys. This is where we live in college football is in the portal. I think most people and I think most auburn fans, I don't want to speak for you, but I think most of us are rooting for Bo nicks to have a really nice final chapter to his college career at Oregon. And he has a chance to go play against defenses that are not quite the same as the SEC west or the SEC. Certainly not the Georgia defenses that he's seen or the bamboo defenses or some of the LSU defenses he's seen. And it's the guy who accomplished a lot, man. If he plays one more year, it already probably breaks every single career passing record in school history. Finishes with 34 consecutive starts, 21 and 13 as a starter freshman of the year beat Alabama. And yet probably needed to transfer for his own mental sanity. This is what I love about the bonus story. Is it that guy's probably taking a lot of heat from a lot of people over the last couple of years. And some of it's his own doing because he made mistakes and he was on the field. He didn't follow the script and all this stuff that made him sort of, well, is he great? Is he not great? It's the same guy who can make that play against LSU that makes him look like this extraordinary athlete that can just do special things on a field. And then he makes mistakes. You're kind of like, why did you just stain the pocket there, bud? Why don't you just go three step three steps and throw 5 steps and throw. Got off script a little too much. And he probably took a ton of heat. I'm pretty sure I know for a fact. He took a ton of heat from you auburn folks. You guys have high expectations. There's nothing wrong with that. But this, to me, reeks of bone nicks finally doing something for bow nicks. That's what this feels like. And for me, I would want him to go someplace in the west to make it just that much more dramatic. Just give me the drama, man. I want the drama. I want bone nicks at oldness, under lane kiffin, going against an aubergine that might actually be better than all this next year. Maybe that's why I went to Oregon instead of almost. But bone Nick's transfers the Oregon sort of the saga, at least in the SEC is now over and he ends up at a pretty good program. We don't know anything about how good of a job Dan landing is going to do. By the way, I'm 39, Dan landing's 35, I believe. That's a that's an eye opener there. When the new head coach at Oregon is at 35 year old, defensive coordinator. First time head coach. Fascinated to see what the Oregon ducks can be. And obviously bonks, again, you offer fans. You could chime in here, obviously, 855-242-7285. What is he? How is he gonna be remembered? Because I remember the freakish superstar plays as much as I remember getting benched against Georgia state, what in the world were you doing kind of plays? So I'm curious what you often think about bow Nick. So we'll take your calls 855-242-7285 again. The Myrtle Beach bowl, old dominion in Tulsa. Throw out the records. 14 to 7 Tulsa up right now with that turf that teal turf and the Boise state thing, which now you've got, I believe there's a school in the Mac that's got some turf, you got the eastern Washington, right with the red turf. So it's a branding thing now. You look at that field and you know, oh, that's cool for Carolina. It's about branding now. But it began at Boise's state because it was cheap. It was affordable to do that. And now I'm watching football on a teal field. Just like reeks of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Which, by the way, it's a wonderful place to hang out. 855-242-7285 breeding goal here filling in for Paul this week gonna be having some fun talking ball, but I want to get your calls when we come back. Greg Mack will be coming up in about 20 minutes or so. I do want to know what auburn's think of the legacy that bonnick has left. And where would you have liked to see him transfer? We'll.

"Out with you guys this week talking ball all week long. We've got a bowl game actually taking place as we speak. The Myrtle Beach bowl presented by tax act is tax act. I think I got that right going on right now. Old dominion and Tulsa in case you were wondering tied up at 7, we got an NFL game coming up at 5 o'clock, two NFL games today and tomorrow. But we're going to talk lots of SEC stuff and we're going to take calls, of course, 855-242-7285. You can get to me on the Twitter sphere if you want to at brayden Gaul here on the Paul fine bomb show. As I mentioned, longtime longtime listener first time host here on the show. So I'm honored to be here with you guys. Hope everybody's having a wonderful week. A Merry Christmas, happy Hanukkah the Festivus for the rest of us. I hope you're having a good one this week and we're going to have some fun. So we'll take some calls here in just a second. But I got a start of course today with the big news in the SEC and obviously it involves a quarterback transferring. There is no news in college football that does not involve the portal in some way, shape or form these days in college football. And we'll get to what that means for the game moving forward. I think I can make a really good case. And we'd love to get your feedback on why the portal is actually good for the sport and good for the game. But bow nicks, of course, announcing over the weekend after his very strange video on Instagram two weekends ago, which he looked like he was just like literally physically actually in the portal. If anyone's ever actually seen the portal, I have not. But if anyone's actually ever seen it, I think Bo nicks was physically in the portal when he shot the video to weekends ago on a Sunday in the middle of what looked like a portal. And he announces he's leaving, of course, he's graduated and all we were waiting on was where he was going to end up. And I want to get your thoughts out there 855-242-7285 on where you would have liked to have seen bone Knicks land, but this, to me, is the end of one of the most fascinating SEC quarterback storylines and careers that I have ever seen. I've been covering this not as long as Paul, but I've been doing this for, I don't know, it's almost 20 years, and there's just not many careers that match what Bo nicks did in his time in the SEC. And what he had to put up with. And I'm just saying life. I'm not talking about. We love you auburn fans. I'm not talking about you guys. I'm saying just in general, what he had to go through. This is a guy with a legacy last name. You guys know all of this stuff. 5 star recruit goes to auburn follows and his father's footsteps throws a game winning touchdown pass against the Oregon ducks in a super high profile non conference game where the world sees the blossoming and the star of bone Nick's happening. And he's got a solid first year beats Alabama, people, people that don't follow the iron bowl as closely as we on this show do. He beats Alabama. Do people remember that? He beat Alabama. How many auburn quarterbacks during the next Sabin era have beaten Alabama? He goes 9 and four wins SEC freshman of the year. Okay, second year. All right, not only are you going to deal with a worldwide pandemic where you don't know from week to week, who's going to be on your roster? What practice is going to look like? What the game plan is going to look like? Put your coach. Eventually, at the end of that, of course, gets 86, Gus miles on, he's out. Now he's got to deal with a worldwide pandemic and a coaching change. He comes back, and his junior season, he probably is probably his most efficient football. I would argue there were moments where he looked more controlled more in the pocket, more like the evolution in the maturation process for bow nicks was taking place the way it was supposed to. And under a new coaching staff with a new offense and all this stuff, plays pretty good football gets hurt and at the end of it all decides he graduated got his degree. We'll have two years left because of the super senior deal with the pandemic and decides to go to Oregon. He is going to go to Oregon, he's going to reunite with Kenny dillingham, who Dan landing, the current brand new head football coach for the Oregon ducks, the former Georgia defensive coordinator, has hired to be his offensive coordinator, formally a Florida state, was of course bow nix's coordinator at auburn, when he was a freshman. So his reuniting with the guy he knows very well going up to Eugene and playing for a program that has every piece of the puzzle, I would argue the Oregon ducks had they had a player of bone nicks's caliber at quarterback this year, no disrespect to Anthony Brown, but if they had had a quarterback with bow nix's skills and ability, I think you could look at Oregon and say, was that worth an extra game or two this year? Probably, do they lose to Stanford? I don't know. I think Anthony Brown was sort of what held them back. Nice player, but I think that's what held them back in a couple of those losses this year. Maybe not the Utah games. But bonus goes to Oregon, transfers away from the SEC. Now would I have liked him to see him go somewhere else?.

"So the Bama game and that atmosphere and that environment finally breaking through against the tide to all these kids that you're saying we can win a national title here. You had to show them something and to show them what they did to the year before with the way they played and finished. And then to beat Bama, Paul, that resonated in a different way than anything I'd ever seen. And a.m.'s recruiting momentum was off the charts through the roof after that a couple of weeks later they beat enough then pre Bo Nick's injury number 11 auburn at home. That was electric. But Paul, one thing you and I talked about a lot. Texas a and M and Jimbo Fisher saying I'm not going to LSU and continuing to say that hammer that home every coach recruiting against a and M or were telling the recruits that Jimbo's leaving. Heck, I heard there were LSU assistants saying Jimbo's coming here to a and M targets. Before the, you know, before he stayed and then for it to get out, that they did offer him the job and the amount of money he turned down. I think that's in a really strong message, not only that, hey, what I'm telling you, bake it at face value because I'm proven what I say I mean, but also just that's a statement. That's a head coach that anyone he's recruiting now, any parents, any kids know that he is 1000% in on a and M but also that he truly believes they can win a championship in College Station. So I thought Jimbo staying and being as emphatic as he was with the messaging and that went over Bama or what kind of push this thing to a whole nother level. I think they were poised after last year to finish in the top. 6 or 7 again, maybe top 5, but this took it to another level. Great stuff. Billy Lucy, thanks so much, Billy, always good to see you and man. Things are happening in College Station. John talti, 45 minutes away, we'll get his take on whether any college program legitimate I should say would touch urban Meyer after his fall from grace, more of your phone calls after this. You are listening to the Paul finebaum show podcast. Welcome back. We are here on what is this? Thursday afternoon, busy day. A lot of conversation about urban Meyer still coach prime getting a lot of kudos and more of your phone calls, continuing right here. Texas up next in Washington. Hello techs. Good afternoon, Paul. Thank you for taking my call. Thank you very much. See, I wanted to talk about the recruiting for the University of Texas and how well they did. But the story about 16 offensive lineman getting $50,000 from a nonprofit organization, it may be considered with a little bit of thought and I want to go back a little bit when a and M lost or excuse me when Alabama lost a and M, Nick Saban was interviewed right after he came out of the locker room and he said, I told those guys that I want them to think about and remember how they feel right now because that's a big part of their motivation to win. They don't ever want to feel like that again. And that was that toughness that attitude was totally lacking in the Texas culture whereas they lost four or 5 games in a row in the second half and several of them in the fourth quarter and there was an incident on the team bus where one of the assistant coaches got on and watch guys laughing like nothing bad had ever happened and he chewed them out with some colorful language and that created a controversy in Austin, but the best quote was a former Texas player who's involved in the broadcast team was quoted as saying the only problem I have with that speech was that it wasn't given by one of the senior leaders. It should have been given by a player who cleaned up this attitude. And I'm wondering how the heck, I mean, I think that some of this in a name image and likeness stuff is going to make it harder for sarkeesian to turn that attitude around and I was curious what you thought about that. Yeah, I think you're right. I think it's an issue everywhere and coaches are all talk about cohesion and love and oneness, but it almost seems to me every coach is trying to sell that to overcome what you're talking about. It's hard to imagine it's not part of it. We haven't seen a lot of anecdotal evidence so far. But when you're turning when you're trying to turn around a culture as sarkeesian is, that is the real challenge. And there's no evidence yet. He has succeeded. One of my high school classmates was on the Texas team that won national championship two years in a row. And he's told me how UT football players are treated in Austin. You just about never can pay for a meal. No. And those guys are spoiled. And coddled and. If I could offer this, I don't know if that's isolated. I mean, these coaches want to act like they're just, we're just normal students. They're not normal students. I've been to these facilities every weekend. And I compare my dorm room and where I ate and were you ate to where these guys were eating? It's not the same. It's not the same college experience. Exactly. No, I agree with that, but somehow when Nick Saban said that to his players, it had a meaning. Well, there's a difference though in Alabama. He has been able to develop a culture through success. And you walk in that building and you see national championship trophies, Heisman trophies, countless other attributes, and you know you have the greatest coach in college football, history. You know you're in the playoffs every year. So it's a little bit easier to manage the culture through senior leadership than it is at a program that lost 6 games. That's exactly right. That's probably an unfair comparison, but I think Texas, what they did this year it was.

"It was a team win, but it was a defensive win. You know, our defense played unbelievable today. You know, we left the ball in the reds on a million times on air, so it was awesome to see the way they performed. You know, just feeling good. He shouldn't have slid at the end there and the game would have been over earlier, but. It's a small criticism. Matt corral, you continue to tough it out through injury. How are you showing your team how to be tough and keep competing out there? Well, I just don't want them worrying about me. And they see that and when they get hurt, they're going to take that same same approach. So when they see me do that type of thing, they just know it's just a mindset. And when they get that going, those young guys and since they still, you know, it just makes us that much better. So it was significant and almost really now with a game this week that they will win in a game next Thursday night on Thanksgiving, which is up in the air, an amazing egg ball game on Thanksgiving Day lane kiffin has a chance to really have a significant win. So does Mike leach, by the way, on the other side of that speaking about significant losses, it's hard to find one more epic than the one we saw Saturday on the planes, a huge lead 28 three going down the drain and with it, perhaps auburn's chance for a great season. It was epic and on top of the bad news from Saturday. It got worse yesterday with the news that Bo nicks will have surgery on the injured ankle and he is expected to miss the rest of the season, which of course includes South Carolina Saturday and the iron bowl of the following week. Sam pivot had a good week. How about him? Barely escaping state the week before beating LSU in overtime and he took the famous boot trophy, the Golden Boot and showed it off. In the lobby right now, and everybody can get a look. We got a good look at Georgia and Tennessee Saturday when we were in Knoxville and tennesse looked good early. They even had a lead. They scored more points than anyone against the dogs. And they still lost by 24. Tough place to play. I think the way the game started, they start that way and a lot of people, and we talk to our guys about taking their best shot. But we didn't come up here to take.

"But if that area is kind of just too much, Baylor was up 24 to 7, they won 27 17, but the offense back on the field, Baylor stormed what a great win to me that kind of eliminates Oklahoma from the playoffs. Contention at all. Great one by Baylor. Mississippi state auburn, auburn one looks like Bo Nick's is out. From a rest of the year and we'll need surgery. Big loss for auburn moving forward. Georgia, Tennessee, tend to see, could be pull the upset there up ten to 7 in the first quarter, looking good and then Georgia just puts on the nose and runs away with it early in the second quarter. Purdue, Ohio State, give a spoiler makers do it again. I was just a little weary of them doing it. They've done it twice. I don't think they can do it three times. A lot of attention on perdue as well. Ohio State played composed after struggling the past two weeks against Penn State. Nebraska turned down or turned in a midseason performance really did beat the perdue boilermaker's bad 59 to 31 very impressive win by Ohio State. CJ Stroud also was brilliant 361 yards 5 touchdowns. Minnesota, Iowa, big game for the Big Ten west. Iowa got the win, Peter, out due to injury, Padilla getting the start. To me, he looks a little better of impeachers to me he might be one big gets the nod. To hope Wisconsin loses one in you went out to try to get to the Big Ten championship game. Texas a and ML miss, game day, a lot of hype around the Texas a and MD fence and where we're at. However, I just don't count out lane Kevin Matt corral little banged up. Doesn't matter was great at old mez defense. Also was good. I look at where we were at big win..

Behind the Bets

"You don't wanna say throw it out but it was a very irregular season right training camps. Preseason i mean there was just nothing out there with with covert and everything there's such disruption so hopefully things can be more normal and maybe some of these issues will be worked out with more prep time. But it's definitely there's there's sometimes you have to look past certain things and it's not just with corral in the interceptions but that's goes for a lot of teams. You don't want to build an excuses too much but they certainly applied last year more than any other season auburn win. Total of seven and sometimes some of these books put out advance line. Some of the big games like the iron bowl and some of the other ones there were four games. I believe with auburn. On the i booked draftkings put out advanced lines. All four moved against the tigers whoever they were playing not. A lot is expected for auburn. This year brian carson comes in from boise state. There's gotta be an adjustment period. Although he does have experience as a head coach in the south. It's gonna take some time. I would imagine bone knicks never evolved. We thought he would or at least to the degree we thought he would. And it's just a tough schedule as well. I'm a lot of people are down the tigers. How would you assess them. Yeah i don't. I don't have a whole lot of faith. can accomplish this year because i don't have a whole lot of faith. Bo nicks is a quarterback We've we haven't seen growth from him. We have an. And i don't want to put all at his feet. I don't think jack morris. In and gus malzahn did him many favours and try and and don't get me wrong. They tried but getting him refined to the point where he was willing to stay in the pocket and become a guy who had at least competence in his offensive line in there. And make a throw. It's it's poor. Decisions is rush decisions. It's body bad body language. He he showed up on campus as a as a legacy. His dad was a great quarterback there and you would think that they were going to build a statue of and by the time he left. It's still possible that he turns into a guy that fulfils that promise. It's just not likely especially with the coaching. And then the schedule right. I mean any other year. And i love. Sec big ten regular season matchups. I think it's so good for the fans. Auburn goes twopence state. I think. I think that's a tough game to win on the road on a saturday night. Pride the a wide out and despite the fact that they've got cupcakes elsewhere on the non conference scheduled akron alabama state georgia state. Georgia's their crossover. And they play in the west. Who who would they be favourite against when it comes to on the road at lsu. At arkansas ole miss at an maybe mississippi state at home maybe at south carolina and then closing with the iron bowl against alabama. I don't see a whole lot of wins in that schedule for For a team. That's going to be a team in a program in transition. Yes they will be a team in transition that is well put and that's why they're win total seven but like yeah i mean i think five or six kind of what's expected and then maybe you sneak a win in there. Maybe at arkansas arkansas. Obviously much better than they were a couple of years ago. But there's not a lot of wins there on that schedule so maybe seven. Yeah you're telling me. Then if we assume penn state is a loss which i think is fair that they're going to win four games against the west to get to seven. That's a that is an up hill. Could they beat ole miss and mississippi state they win those tossup games. Yeah sure but they're not gonna win all of them and they're certainly going to have a hard time being competitive against the teams well in front of him. Lsu georgia and alabama and penn state's only only seven point favorite. Right now the lions in happy valley. So i mean i guess the mathematically it's winnable for auburn and obviously we know the sec recruiting. And sometimes james franklin will shoot himself in the foot. But i'm with you. I sometimes when these are solid numbers and not a half. You have to look at yourself like is it more likely to go six or eight in this case like is it more likely to lose or win because the push you get your money back not that you always want to angle wages to push to go eight and four. I'm not seeing it on that auburn schedule. I'm over to lose. It's gonna be tough to lose that one all right so we've touched on a couple. We did go already. So i mean we're mississippi state with mike leach. Obviously there's a lot of excitement. I mean you talk about personalities in this conference. And then you had mike leach. Things were really fun last year. He was all over. The place like usually is. Can you actually build this program here at mississippi state. He'll need a quarterback to do so and they've got quarterback competition right. Al will rogers who was a true freshman starting quarterback last year who ran the air raid in high school. Certainly had a better feel for it at the end of the season than he did at the beginning. But this is gonna sound counterintuitive because he's had success with one year. Quarterbacks gardner menchu's is is the best example of that but meant you have been the air raid right for years and years and years at a even at a high level before he got there on had been in the system and understood it. This is a high repetition offense to be effective. It's based on doing whatever the defense gives you in that means generally unscripted when it comes to route running. You.
