"Does that make sense the license look? They're very different like not to be rude but go joe is a good singer. She's a singer she's that's her craft Boho performer she's a dancer she says on. There she's not a good singer. She doesn't want to be a good singer. That's not what she is all about. She's a dancer she's a performer and go joe says wide. I've always been self conscious about my dancing actually like I really worked hard on my singing, but my dancing is always come really difficult to me. So they do have like big differences obviously a hugely different audience and joke about how like it's funny when some people buy tickets to like a Gojko, a concert and error. Odinga. Bo Joe Joe, and the opposite. Why did a movie called Aquamarine and then Aquamarine? Yeah. Have you seen a lot of my friends have that's like the mermaids right? That's the MERMAIDS. Yes there's two those Aquamarine H. Two O. Right honestly I haven't really seen either of them. So I, I don't know my question to you is what do you think is the worst situation but accidentally buying tickets to go Joe Joe for Bo Joe Blow Joe Joe for go Joe Joe accidentally accidentally buying. Tickets for Bo Joe Joe I think is because you probably have your kids. You probably have kids with you and they're going to be like where the fuck is Bo Joe and you're going to be like, oh no, this is go joe. Joe Well, no, no, no, no, no no no I. Think you misinterpreted me no I think I think not expecting to be around screaming children is the nightmare because if I if I had let's say I had kids or I was you know I was Watching. My nephews for the night and I was like, you know we're going to go see Bo Joe. We're GONNA go see Bodo Joe and then we show up at its go jo-jo They might be disappointed but I'm like get ready to hear some bumps like this. They're going to be screaming the whole time. They want BOJ, Allen, however if Josh and I bought tickets to go Joe Joe and I was like, let's go here some Bob's and we show up and they're screaming children I would be mortified and I would run out the door. Oh, see I would opposite I think if I had kids with me and I accidentally got Goja Boji Joe it'd be a whole mess because the kids would be. pissed and I'd have to we'd have to just leave if we actually did the other thing I would be like quote unquote pissed but then I would also be like, Oh, I finally get to see Bowe Joe and see what all the fuss is about and like be interested in like the spectacle of Boj I'd keep screaming tickets now wait till. You hear I know you're disappointed but wait till you hear this bridge this bridge is iconic. Remain they'd be so mad but yeah, I'll put some clips here but the conversation is relatively interesting if not because there is A. kind of a UN. There's kind of a weird untapped honesty to Boho. Maybe hadn't heard before. We're Boho says things that are just very real in a way and go Joe Joe's whole thing is that she's to real. You know she's like kind of like a very down ass person and Boho is like kind of easy to mold in that way yeah. Oh Trudeau silicate she's very like being very friendly and nice and they're both sort of looking at each other like museum pieces cause I think Bo Joe really only knows go Joe Joe because Boho is often confused with that had the same name. Yeah. Right and so she's like This is we are. You're the person that people always confuse me with but go joe probably knows everything about Joe like is probably like a wikipedia whole person and has read everything. Well, it's weird go joe. Joe. Says to Bow Joe Joe do you read the comments and Bo Joe says, yes, I read everything on the Internet and go does like I could never do that but I think that is the difference in it. It's like Boho Joe is like a child of the Internet and go Joe Joe even though we're on the blind millennials really do like we've. At our age, we've learned to disconnect a little bit or at least the ideal is to disconnect. Being a child of like the early Internet child of the current Internet people think they know you? They don't know you. That is one of the hard things about doing what I do. So I'm like Youtube is like a big place like that's like my biggest platform and a lot of the times like. Little. Kids and their four years on and they think they know me and they're believing in something in. So it gives them it to believe in. You know, let let them have their fun like Santa It's Great. It really is and it's amazing. But once it hits a certain age and it's like older kids like I'm talking like seventeen eighteen or like or even adults think that. They know that's just dumb but it is ignorant that's true and then the other difference which I found fascinating was they're talking about what they're doing in corner whenever and BOJ's like I'm doing a live show in my youtube every week I'm doing new dances every week and Joe, Joe's like. Well, we a whole tour planned I was going all these new places won't want and that's Very. Much like the traditional music marketing versus new music, marketing and bow does here making.

You know, I am sort of on the other end of the spectrum. I rarely meet a pizza. I don't like I guess I'm just not as fussy and not his particular. Now I have some that I like more than others. I particularly do like Beau Jo's quite a bit. And when you eat in restaurant, which I'm assuming we can now do again and Beau Jo's You put honey on the crust after you eat the All the cheese and the toppings and the flat pie part in that that helps with with all the bread all the crust at the end, which is outstanding because it's kind of soft word. It was meeting the pizza and then it's kind of crunchy on the outside. It's just 90% of time. I'm just I'm just I'm just disappointed. That's okay. By the way, Yes, you can eat in it. "Podcasts? I want to congratulate Boris Johnson on terrific victory. I think that might be a harbinger of what's to come in our country. It was last has time. Boris Johnson's win in the UK is prompting some warnings from Democrats here in the US NBC. News put it this way today. Eh Democratic hopeful Joe Biden seemed to try and draw lessons from the left wing. Labour party's loss for his upcoming party. Primary quote quote. You're also going to see people saying my God. Boris Johnson who is kind of a physical and emotional clone of the president is able to win in Biden said and has axios put it today. Johnson's win as a reminder that mainstream voters hesitate to embrace radical change and voters who who are uneasy about an incumbent won't necessarily choose the opposition party if they don't like it's leaders here to talk about a Corinne being shown Pierre Chief public affairs officer for move on an alum of both. The Obama campaign and White House also happens to be the author of the new book moving forward a story of hope hard work and the promise of America. It's a story that happens to belong to her and we are happy to welcome her back on the the broadcast Corinne Lena. Other than the fact that Jeremy Corbyn may have been the worst candidate in any country in one hundred years time. What do you view as the lessons? Sons of Bo Joe's election to Democrats in this country if any at all look. I think that we should be mindful of what we saw happening. happening happened last night in the UK especially an unprecedent unprecedented times. And I think that's the biggest thing we have been living in this kind of whirlwind of not knowing exactly how things are going to turn out but like you said I think urban was so unpopular. He had these bigoted views anti-semitism Taksim. He was very very disliked. As as you just laid out. So it's hard for me to make that direct connection remember. Brexit was on the ballot. That was one of the things that voters voted on. And so that is a unique scenario. Unique situation that you see in that election and the thing about Brian I think about if you think about the Ukraine call he think about clearly what. Donald trump is being impeached for Americans Gins said that seventy percent of Americans basically said that they thought that call was wrong and what he did was wrong. That is a massive number in such jay politically divided country. That were in Americans are tired. They're sick and tired of what is happening with. This president that lies the tweets. Just last week he was on the world stage being laughed at. He has a robust economy. He can't crack forty-three percent. I mean there's so much there that we have to consider but to your point. The glass is half full. That is presenting to you a glass half full full. Well let me present to you. The words of our mutual friend Nicole Cole Wallace about the hearings. We've just witnessed the GOP performance yesterday should put to rest any doubts among Democrats that Joe Biden is a lethal threat to trump's reelection prospects. Here's why conspiracy theories are the GOP version of bringing out the China for special guests. We don't do it for just anyone. So is that perversely good news. You think for Biden it is. That's good news for Bite. I mean it's clear this this whole reason that we're in this impeachment. Inquiry is because Donald Trump call all the Ukrainian President Alinsky and ask him to basically interfere in our elections are free and fair elections the cornerstone of our democracy and then bribed him and then tried to cover it up. And then try to. You know not answer to Congress. This is all part of his worry about his political rival. which is the one number one person that he believes that is going to hurt him? Is Joe Biden. So yeah the has that does help Joe Biden and if you see his numbers Biden's it ends numbers. It hasn't the Ukraine thing hasn't hurt him is actually embolden his numbers it's strong it strengthened his numbers so that is certainly a true thing. I totally holy agree with our friend Nicole. Wallace Corinne in thirty seconds or less the Democrats have announced four new debates for twenty twenty lest we should go a week without a democratic democratic debates they have not announced the threshold. Is it possible. They're gonNA find a way to get Bloomberg on that stage. That's A. That's a talk one because Bloomberg is not participating in any of the early states. I think they're probably going to still have some sort of threshold. He he doesn't seem like that is something that is of concern to him to be On on that debate stage I mean. They are flooding there flooding the airwaves every day. You see a Bloomberg Berg at. I've not seen anybody else's at least living here in this bubble but I can't imagine so. I think the most important thing that Democrats need to do is make sure here at the diverse stage Korean. Pierre Thank you as always and you become the last voice we hear in this momentous week in Washington and Beyond Oakland always a pleasure coming up for us. We will hear Lindsey Graham strong warning to his fellow lawmakers.

"Thanks for the news welcome to Newsday sham how little analogous to Joe review of the BBC world service on the proposed new regulation of the U. S. C. my grandfather is across the southern border of the U. S. illegally detained indefinitely also the World Health Organization that releases a study which stays that micro plastics in water but not as helpful as we usually **** up to be on that the next off all yesterday it was Germany and a meeting with chancellor Angela Merkel today British prime minister Boris Johnson is set to meet French president Emmanuel macron in Paris he's been saying that the UK is prepared to walk away from the E. U. without to deal and has said that the Irish backstop must be ditched if no deal is to be avoided now the German chancellor Angela Merkel challenged at Mr Johnson to come up with alternatives to the Irish border arrangements within thirty days the French president however has already sent that re opening negotiations on the backstop issue was not an option let's speak to French journalist Catherine Gilyard D. there Catherine good morning to you good morning with French president micron stands so fixed I mean he he already said before the two men even shook hands that this is a done deal what can we expect to come out of that meeting well I mean some some leaks from the Isabel asked the presidential palace say that German and French position are exactly the same and that they hold together so DS definitely up for the French presidency from friends the backstop which now we called him Bo Joe here as well so Boris Johnson said that was not an option said that diss definitely an option if they wanted Greenman that it's an insurance policy said they the French presidency and it says one of the main elements indispensable element of an agreement if the British want one because of the peace and stability in Ireland that insurers and integrity they say of the European Parliament so he's position of a a new deal at least he said threat that the backstop won't be an option is considered here as an acceptable if not a friend to see here and there is the the feeling that word to Albers Johnson is trying to do to bring back the Europeans to the negotiation table won't happen yet even if the U. S. said that they will offer of the bilateral agreements and generous bonus or agreement in full for the British in Germany chancellor Merkel gave Boris Johnson thirty days to come up with other options to the Irish border arrangement he says he had you know he had a month yet thirty days in many read into that saying well you know maybe maybe this is a small opening for Boris Johnson to find a magical solution to this do you think friends will buy into this or or is the stands much more firm in Paris it seems much more formal we'll see today after the the talks between the menu and Michael and Boris Johnson in Paris but what is searching here is that what we hear is that cell phones and with the European Union from says will probably agree to grant additional time beyond the thirty first of October to hold they say new elections in person so you see this is this is what's been answered here in but waiting for the fifth of September when you Corbin has lunch sorry I can house sitting this belong to a a a political a sense again James Corbin the labor opposition leader yep yes and so yes I mean this is a stronger position there's also a very strong position regarding the idea at that time for Boris Johnson there is no financial obligation of Britain to was the United does its are towards the European Union the United Kingdom will have to pay on the current multi annual budget of the European Union running through twenty twenty that the thirty nine billion pounds that we're talking about and this is also one of the publication of for instance say Bryce Johnson saying that no Britain will not raise so it is definitely started a very strong what position and a at the hospital with the European Union to force the European Union to open negotiations again and in Paris he will not hear this is okay I'm I'm just wondering finally at Catherine just correct myself is Jeremy Corbyn of course the ID at labor opposition leader here in the UK but I'm just wondering with with the two men's stance is being fixed on on the Irish backs up which is the most contentious issue of of the brexit deal on the mathematics of it if we're expecting anything new to come out and I'm wondering what the French media is talking about for example what are the expectations here is very pessimistic there is no option here that we're talking about or no deal talking about an old problem that they will be at the French border and full French companies but also for the British and no other option than boys Johnson accepting the agreement as has already been negotiated by terra terra some may there is no other option Catherine many thanks for joining us Catherine Kelley RG their French journalist running us live from Paris migrant families who cross the southern border of the U. S. illegally could be detained indefinitely under new regulation announced by the trump administration it replaces an agreement that was such a limit on how long the government could hold my grand children in custody the move was announced by the Oct in homeland security secretary Kevin McKinley up now it's due to come into effect in sixty days a little Aaliyah I spoke to a collective and Willis was in Los Angeles what trump administration believes that the current law which restricts the detention of children at the southern border to twenty days is at least partially to blame for the Rachael number of migrants that have turned up at that border in recent months now administration officials claim that the fact that children are very often released into the U. S. pending future court appearances represents a loophole as they see it in the immigration Lawrence learned that by tightening that loophole by granting officials the right to detain people until their cases are settled the smokers will be deterred from bringing families into this country now critics and there are many argue that this could significantly increase the time the children spend in custody at the border and indeed senior Democrat Nancy Pelosi who is the speaker of the house has said that this policy amounts to defied child abuse as she poses is there any indication of told us to how it'll come into effect what we do know Alan is that this has fast to be approved by a judge question marks as to whether that approval will be given and if it is there is every chance that such a move would then face legal challenges but we've seen legal challenges with other missions that the trump administration has sought to implement in order to try to rectify the situation at the southern border including a measure to introduce a public charge rule is that something that would dissuade legal migrants from accessing social services such things as food aid for example but all this is meant to send a message I think and that message is that to those who are intending to undertake this journey and try to cross into the United States illegally the United States is going to clamp down very hard and that's an important message of course for the president space if you like a going into next year's election David Willis in Los Angeles this is Newsday on the BBC world service coming to you live from London Schyman Allen with you this morning messy cannon is here with the sport yeah good morning shama Juventus not happy with the structure of Syria in particular the kickoff times for the new league most of the kickoff times in the opening couple of weeks of the season a rather late in the day European time which puts them very late in the day in particular in Asia where they have a very large viewing numbers and they'd like to increase those numbers they say they are falling behind financially the English premier league and other top European leagues because friends in Asia cont watch Italian matches other stories for you Alexis Sanchez's move from Manchester United to enter still not happened mainly because they can't agree on what way slightly to be a significant cuts in the player's salary and the start of the season ending tour championship in Gulf in the United States a curious setup this time round for the first time there's a kind of anti handy cap the players who did best in the playoffs we events leading up to this the qualifying events for this final tour championship will have an advantage for Justin Thomas who won the last qualifying event sortie starts on ten under par all the way back to Louis I was Tyson of South Africa whose level par strange system not everyone likes it Matthew many thanks business news month and it's the middle of the summer like everybody knows what taking the holidays the flight expensive to fly around and the next few days should be the busiest of the year of the passengers flying in Europe but now no one does because of a strike at Ryanair Mr for the puncture yet two day strike from the pilots of Ryanair happening today and tomorrow he was supposed to go ahead across the board but run and managed to get a high court injunction in Ireland had the holy courting junction in the U. K. turned down though so give me a two conflicting High Court orders we don't know which way it's going to go so I spent two John Strickland director of jealous consulting and Austin how the strikes gonna work out from here if this is leading up to a big holiday weekend it here in the U. K. you serve massive numbers of people traffic coming towards the end of school holidays to Ryan and has indicated expect to fly a full program of flights and having spoken to the company last night they said they hit number one have a separate supplied us currently they have about six cruise prac off now most jealous about five so it does represent quite a an over Carrie Kennedy they also pointed out that many members of F. I. stuff in the U. K. and all members of the union and a lot of pot is decided in central I'm not rusted to fly today or tomorrow but I'm willing to fly so on that basis of very confident they would operate pretty well in normal program do you believe them do you think that's a realistic plan for them to have have a head to the statistics and they gave me and and knowing how they they planned or Australia it does indeed sound plausible they could be one or two that'll bumps along the way they may have to change peoples all thirteen days and sell not could lead to some delays on flights but I didn't think they could afford to go out and say you have a level of confidence in the not deliver it Ryanair is a low cost carrier why do they have so many pilots on the books that would seem antithetical to the business model when a couple years ago Raina had a shortage of pilots and some big restaurant problems and that led to that and reacting to what was going on in the market place a soul they were losing pilots to other airlines such as Norwegian who fly the same type of echo to Sam the vessel up salaries very agree to recognize unions but we've had a pretty terrible and couple of years since then in terms of reaching these agreements in the fine detail but they they they got more pilots not any to join stat USC interest rates fall because of because of improved conditions they offered I'm they've also been recruiting pilots in anticipation of growing that sleep from now into next year not least of Boeing seven forty seven MAX six officially due to be delivered and coast like everybody else was at craft a grounded we should have five is some of it should have been the sixty next year under the recent guidance is suggested it might get up to thirty now serve alcohol for ready what we should have had the pilot training and recruitment has to be done in a long lead time service people over the on board so they already to get a few weeks ago we had a surplus of maybe up to nine hundred crew which isn't good from the union point of view in terms of education in power because they've indicated they will after that people got John Strickland Philip I'm sure thank you as Japan gets ready to host the Rugby World Cup next month and gears up for the Olympics next year it's still struggling with the shortage of workers to fill that gap prime minister since Abby enacted a law this year to allow three hundred and forty five thousand low skilled migrants into the country over the next five years this is brought into the spotlight another government immigration scheme that has been running since the nineteen nineties one that has become notorious for exploitation and abuse and as the B. B. C.'s population reporter Stephanie Haggerty has discovered involve some big international brands as well well the train roars through this industrial town just two hours from Tokyo I'm in a little park in a residential area a small group of men and women of all ages are doing their morning exercise they're from China Vietnam and Cambodia and came to Japan as technical interns it's a three year government program that's been running since the early nineties and it's supposed to offer low skilled migrants the chance to learn skills but it's become notorious for exploitation and abuse so these are labels that you sewed onto clothes in the laundry room and a sound and we found evidence that some of those exploited or making clothes for big international bronze familiar war to return to him that the whole junk is from China and in your fifties she wanted to come here to make money to help pay for her son's wedding she worked for a small garmon production company Khaleda solicits autonomy with him but I work from six thirty in the morning to midnight was how often each for lunch break and.

"There's always changing his philosophies in, you know, elevating them, and you know, he he was cutting edge with Oregon, and there's really very few missteps, I know that the recruiting thing, you know, obviously soiled his tenure there. But in terms of just pure coaching Xs and os, you know, wait a minute program program. He was a head of everybody. It didn't feel a lot of that. When you seal last. You're gotta wonder like did he loses. Bo Joe when he was in the NFL and did something happened kinda change thing for maybe he's being too stubborn now ideas, but I would have a har-. Time betting against I just think he's he's a very very good football coach. And even though another dip recruiting wasn't very good. I have a hard time believing that UCLA figure things out with him as coach. 'cause I mean, you know, he's he's he is sharp mind and football specially offensively that that I've ever don't. Yeah. Just a little bit. When you talk to on that staff like they are convinced they're going to win pretty big there. And they know exactly what they're doing. And look if you look at what they did in the last four games of the season offensively. It was a big difference compared to the rest of the season. I think the rest of the I think in the pre first eight games, I think there were over four hundred twenty five yards once and that was against their own ah in the last four games they averaged around five hundred close to five yards game. So I think it may have taken some time for them to figure out each other what their organ way him being back through. Makes it more interesting. And more knows that that division is down. With him. I got bit. Like people would look at chip and he was released salary with the media. But I enjoyed them. I enjoyed that interplay. I enjoyed the sarcasm and the quips, and I think he makes the will better to have a coach with little personality. Now, I know that seems a little bit more withdrawn. Now, you know, he doesn't like to give as much access as it used to it used to be great when I said orbit, bro, and the team meetings and show what they were doing. And you just got the whole Willie Lyles deal recruiting problem kind of soured him, and he just shut down idiot. I if I were like encouraging ship I'd say people need to see your ship. I mean, you're funny mocking ways to be out there in front of a program because that's part of your personality. And I think that stick works, and it, and it helps it helps the program helps it's attitude. I think Oregon gotta have that attitude chip adopted, and I hope he's a little bit shy about attention. Let's people Bruce film would come in. To practice and hang out. Get an inside look about what he's trying to build. Right. What is next for you? While I I am happy. I am happy with what I'm doing now. And I hope to be part of building Millersville pretty significant entity in Atlanta. And I don't this part of the continued growth of that company. Are we had a great year last year and a lot of potential to grow were hiring like crazy bringing people in making know who knows as possible that we're going to be connecting with some of my old, friends and college sports during some branding and some facilities renovations. And the and I think that's a really exciting opportunity. So my next is hoping to do as well as I can't fillers and continue to groom there. And and I have no interest in getting back into it. I like I like so many people I worked with, but I don't sports undone with sports writing and. I'm moving on. But I appreciate. You even think to bring me on this show. Maybe the lowest rated show you've ever had. But I do appreciate getting a chance to relive it. Because it isn't established by to enjoy talking about the stuff. Do you ever feel this is popped in my head because you had such a unique connection, you know, relative to the other folks has been calm with how you wrote your mail bags and different things where there was a connection..

"We're in Cincinnati for twenty four hours, and it was for me personally was really great to get back there. And visit I I lived there for a year or so when I was a teenager, and Cincinnati is one of those towns, that's really I think under the radar really underrated. It's really a nice place, and the people that live there love it. So look the same as the W in Cincinnati opening like when you drive across that bridge kind of the same stadiums. Yeah. There's two new stadiums there. Now they've done a lot with the downtown area. And there was a whole bunch of homes and condos up on the Kentucky side of the banks of the Ohio river like up on a hill. And that looked like really cool like great view of the river in downtown Cincinnati, and you can commute into town by minute. How do they handle the taxes there? Do you think there's like some reciprocity because of so many people live in Kentucky and work in Ohio? How do they make it work? And so when you're there in Cincinnati. People. They they want the Cincinnati chili. It's a thing and also Montgomery and the ribs king. They call it. And so the media a lot of the media was I call. Yeah. I'm going to Montgomery in or I gotta get some Cincinnati chili and never heard of the Montgomery. And until you've brought it up me. Neither I definitely have heard of skyline chili in Cincinnati. Really had daddy chilly. But I've never thing in Montgomery's. The town. I lived in. When I when I lived there in Cincinnati. Did you buy Moeller high school? I didn't because I just I took a cab out to the restaurant and a dinner and came back, but it was dark already and it was raining the kid for ninety four Hubbard from Moeller high school. Yep. So when you come to Denver when people come to Denver, what do they say gotta go get that Denver blank. That's the the question. Three zero three seven three eight five eight five now on the text line. A couple of things have come up repeatedly. And that's Bo Joe's pizza, that's one of them. The Denver go. I gotta go. Get bowe. Joe's pizza. I think people in Denver. Go to bow. Joe's pizza. I think that's the case where people come to town. And then the people who live here go Joe speech in go. Okay. You could say that about a million places that you'll take people to that you like. But here's one that's legit. And this was back in the day. People would come to Denver and say, I gotta get some Coors beer. Yeah. Because they didn't sell it back east. And I know personally that was a thing you come to Denver. You gotta get course. And this was what seventy s probably that would make sense for. They really core started branching out and selling it around the country in the nineties fat tire beer when we were at KU there'd be folks that come over to Denver were from here. And they always ask people to bring fat tire because you couldn't get it in in the greater Kansas City area. Mid-nineties fat tire was kind of one of the first craft brews. Seems like it definitely one of the biggest. Yeah. I feel that way too. Let's go, Tom. Hello, tom. You're on KOA. Hey, love your show. I do constructs or get up early in the case me away going home alive. My bought off. All thank you, Tom predate that, hey, those kind of throws a twist in here or something that's always great and always has been good in Denver and Colorado is the breakfast. Like what like the Denver omelette? Oh, no like the breakfast potatoes. There's a lot of breakfast joints here in Colorado. So many in the mountains and Denver, you know, I'm an old dog. And I remember we only one meal a day where we had breakfast. Yeah. That's the best meal if you're gonna eat one that's the one to eat. Okay. Goods all the breakfast places in the mountains and Denver specially when it's cold. You got to have a good breakfast breakfast burritos are big here. There's a lot of good with green.

"Boris coming down the homestretch of this edition and weekend. Live will be here right until five o'clock in the morning, though. But after that, hey, don't go anywhere. You're going to hear the best Almas operation, you're gonna find the anywhere. In the meantime, we get some fun stuff to talk about the topic. At hand is Rolling Stone is predicting the demise. Of the album, not that they are in favor of a digesting. Just looks like it's going to be going the way of the dodo. Is that a good idea? What are we losing? If that does happen when might be a favorite album of yours. Six one seven two five four ten thirty is the number again, six one seven two five four ten thirty or eight eight eight nine two nine ten thirty. That's a toll free number eight eight eight nine two nine ten thirty. And we're gonna go. He's been waiting for a while. I'm glad to be with him on Charles Charles. How are you tonight? I'm doing pretty well. What's going on? Well, I wanted to take it from you, you covered some aspects. I wanted to cover. Haunt the when I started out of out of college. I worked in Boston seventy one and between all the shops and Boston all the shops in Harvard square concert going across Harvard coke was placed place to to hear new music while you're shopping things. Right, right. Basically expanded your you'd hear something and you say, wait a minute. I came in here to buy. The days when you could buy three brand new albums released that week for ten dollars. I know Charles those were the days is a song goes. But there were places like Bo Joe's on I think Casey was on where you had a lot of students from Berkeley from Europe and elsewhere who are bringing their albums to trade for Americans. So and so you'd be exposed to a lot of time I was very much into British jazz and British folk music of the seventies. Per people like Bertrand pen tangles your things like that as well as Mike Westbrook, another Chasma, Alan Skidmore. And if you read the backs of the wire. Oh, yeah. To expand your knowledge of everything. And then you would go, and you would try to search out about artists other musicians you'd see who was playing on what albums that would give you a chance you would say I'll take a chance on this. Because the engineer is someone who's great. The musicians are great the artists might not know. But I know that there's going to be a quality product. So nice point. Yeah. In the thing is I remember even going on to trim on street. One one day probably in the mid to late seventies. And I heard this great guitar playing on my found out. It was the crusaders Larry Carlton and Larry's there's been a friend of mine now for thirty years because of that because I started to get into his whole background is a session musician Dennis the waters, but these things sort of expanded your conscious if you just download digitally a single song or you don't know the backgrounds of the honors. You don't know who is producing or playing or whatever. Hey, it's just a single digital footprint, and it really seems to destroy any concept of knowing something about the entire for you know, you might find out. Artist has been on other things prior to his ascent solo artist. You don't know that otherwise see you make a good point Charleston talking about someone like I'll use an example, Larry Carlton, so for someone for instance, they might have bought the Royal scam. One of the steely Dan albums, and in what we always did this look at the liner notes and see who the personnel isn't. He realized Jesus guy. Larry Carlton to this unbelievable solo in guys. Steely Dan were no slouches. They didn't suffer fools gladly. And you figure out does this guy make his own music. He does maybe in as you said, it you make connections, and you make links and when you're downloading a song there in the liner notes. I know it seems like they missed plus the art work, and so many other aspects of it. I used to have a collection of about six thousand albums that's gone down now to about three hundred. But you know, you can have a lunch. Mm CD's to the initial problem. I had with CD's as with before was there was a brittleness to it, especially when they were digitally remastered Permana walk, right? I think they've been able to confront some of those problems to a degree on the original digital recordings. I think they've compensated for to a degree. So I find them less of a problem than I used to. But now his one thing about a conceptual album that I didn't expect to like the last one cameo album. I was not a big fan of his like some ghost on the canvas is it's almost like a dream sequence. You listen to it from beginning to end, it's impeccably mastered and recorded an engineered the whole concept. I don't know. I mean, it's not it's not one of those things that's gonna make you happy to it. Because he's sliding it's dementia. I think. But it isn't. So it'd be heard the whole thing's through I have not I. Thomas what can experience, and I didn't I wasn't expecting that. But I happened to pick it up and a yard sale. And I'll keep it because I find it to be an incredible albums. And so getting back to us. We're talking before Charles if you download a song or two you'd miss the whole idea. I'll be lost. You mentioned the the CDs in in versus vinyl. You may be right about that. They haven't been able to tweak the difference. Now, what when CDs I came out before. I realized everything the world is going to be out in CDs. Eventually just assumed a lot of the stuff. I like because I was working as a music, right? A lot of skier offbeat and stuff would not ever be released. So I actually bought a burner, and I would burn it from vinyl onto CD's just for me. Right. When they were eventually released on CD, I compare the two and the ones they burned where again get back to that funny word, they will warmer. I don't know what to do. Oh. Yeah. And that may not be the case. Now, I really haven't done that comparison anymore because I will say I still got a bunch of remember the last time. I listen to vinyl. I'm one of those chumps at bought some music and five different formats you and I have a couple of mutual friends all wrong. Sure. Yeah. Yeah. Dave just a little while goes a matter of fact. Yeah, they're good guys have known them both for thirty years. You know, they the seniors. I find as I get older I turned seventy and I just don't have it in me to just go, and I used to go to record shops probably five times a week when you know during the time I was in Boston and even afterwards at least two or three times a month. Inter possum Cambridge. But I just I guess I totally lost my modo. And I still love the music. Yeah. Well, as you cumulate more and more there's less need to go searching out stuff too. And sometimes it's just it is sometimes just easy to download it. Or if you still like the album, I gotta tell ya. I've done this watchos admit, I'll go on EBay or Amazon and Al by the physical CD, but they'll send it to me in two days. It's usually cheaper lane. Get it for it's it's just too easy. I still continue to buy. Look for things, and I order things on Amazon. But I don't really unless it's something that I really have a scratched up copy of for some reason, I will probably my by anymore our vinyl album that I've been looking for let's say some European import. But other than that. I just sorta stay away from the vinyl and just cherish. What I have well, particularly for people of our generation, the vinyl now is twenty bucks. I'm not paying that lets you said they used to be I remember, and it might have been the minority days for that reason for some reason the that sticks in my mind to is two to seventy seven. I think fields a great US grant, you can get twenty dollars for him. I just laugh. Hi, just laugh. Made the vinyl again once before I'm not doing again, you know, I'll tell you one thing that whole the whole thing is mentioned about a Harvard square. Especially Boston have you made the circuit or about six or seven different places. And then of course, came in afterwards, and then they moved to Kenmore square, and that's still one of my favorite. I spend a lot of time in. Scott and whammy, Joel. And I worked for them part time. It's a second job. They said you're here all the time. What inter coming? We'll give you a discount. Very smart by ten hours a week for them once. Yeah. When Tower Records is in downtown Boston the multi store. Oh, my goodness gracious. I gotta take a break and be let you go one little nugget Charles. Did you know that Dave Perry was once dominated for Grammy for correcting for Leno? Yeah. Didn't win. He would have deserved. He's he's a wonderful guy didn't win. But hey, you nominated for Grammy that that that is cool enough. I think so. And of course, he's got the record store now too. So. L goes full circle. Talking with you keep listening call again, I will buy it is four seventeen we're gonna take a break right back. The compensation salmon revere, you're up next here. WBZ? This is weekend. Live on WBZ NewsRadio ten thirty. Radio New year, musical tastes. So well, we can make you a mix that we know. You know, what if we actually did.
