"Extra innings gonna be grand slam hopes cisco bahia jumped on that first pitch fastball hip beyond the fence so many moments on this list that are about the blue jays in extra innings or in the ninth inning and this one was especially painful. It's bluejays raise may twenty-first as i mentioned to five game at the end of the sixth-inning and it actually stays that way until the twelfth inning. And we're going to talk about the bullpen today. A lot of the the names that are going to pop up tyler chat with and ruffo dollies but remarkably this game actually stays tied to five until the twelfth inning but in the twelfth inning raise bro. Blow it open on a for cisco major grand slam the blue jays score in the bottom of the twelfth. They try to make it interesting but they ultimately still lose nine two seven the worst part i think of this game and Jacob you and i did a livestream afternoon staying up through the entire game through the four and a half hours only to be very disappointed at the end and with the end result and i think it was a sign of things to come a sign of the start of the blue jays bullpen struggles and they certainly continued and we have a lot of games from a two week stretch in may and june on our list but it was an important stretch of the season for the blue jays too. They are facing boston. Tampa bay in the yankees for ten straight games in. There are a lot of moments from that stretch that have ended up on this list. Yeah that was those dunedin as as much fun as they seem to be at the time. Those were brutal when you look back on it. I mean if i remember the bluejays were eleven and ten i think in those games are the the home game so it wasn't necessarily the kindest to them. Yeah you mentioned that stream. I think it was around one. Am by the time we actually did that. And by the time the game finished. And i was probably gonna step anyways to be honest but it just to have that type of not favorable situation take place. It's just it kind of hurts especially when you watch pretty much the entire game and you were home because we were still in lockdown and everything it was like this is really the only thing we can do. And then the blue jays just They just did not do what we want them to do. But i think more importantly that series it wasn't six game losing streak at that point but they had a six game losing streak at the end of it they got swept in the four games against the rays and it just that was honestly just a brutal game especially the inning prior in the eleventh joel. Amc out of a. I think it was either a basis loader couple men on jam he had a three to count and y- through like a three to curve ball not sure why he did that it worked out and he was just. He was cheering throughout the entire Basically his entire walked to the dugout was him screaming. Like it looked like jason greeley tight moment and we felt really excited about that. It was like okay..

"It shows that like everybody knew obviously guerrero was the number one ranked prospect when he came up kind of disappointed those first two seasons that he was in the league and everybody knew like obviously when you ranked that highly everyone expects better than a to seventy average and then like to sixty two in your second season all those sixty game so i'm not really sure what we can extrapolate from that but everybody expected grow to be a lot better than what he was in those first two seasons and to not only do that during the regular season. But do it when everybody's eyes were on you it. Just it's an amazing moment and excuse me as you mentioned that moment at the end of the game where the the rest. The rest of his teammates stay and they don't just leave the they're all they're honestly if you're not a blue jay fan you look at that and you think man. I want to be a blue jay fan just seeing how much fun. They're having really down the stretch like yeah. They didn't end up making the playoffs. But you look at how close this group is and how good they are like. The this isn't it's not like the the mighty ducks or whatever that situation where a team or whatever where it's a team that's not very good but there are at least starting off not very good in them. They're still friends. Or whatever like this team is fantastic. And they all. They'll know they're good but they all liked to be together and if you're any you you're an american fan. Obviously you're scared of the bluejays when you face them. But it's one that you you can't help but look and say like i wanna be a part of this fan base because it's going to be like the team that they like. It's going to be good for a very long time. And it's because of guys like this putting on your on the the center stage and really you take some of the best pitchers deep and then really the all star mvp. I know maybe he doesn't win the mvp this season. I think he does or at least should. But when you're winning all star. Mvp you're almost a triple crown winner. Maybe even a silver slugger. I don't know it it'll you know we'll have to see how this season transpires or or.

"Really when the season started turning around because for the entire way we kept saying they need to go on a run their poise for a run and it turns out them coming home to their home. Crowd was exactly what they needed to get going. And that's definitely what they did. They add hartridge they had cold streaks. They got back into things right when we kind of rule things out and they came within one game this weekend and a lot of us kind of writ. Wrote the season off before this series even started so all of this to take into account for Lots of ups and of of course lots of down but overall it was a fun season. I can't wait for an extra for the first time in a while. I am excited for spring training. Two thousand twenty two. Yeah i mean you can talk about the negatives all we want and we will. We'll have a postmortem on the season. We'll talk about some of those worst moments and what steps of bluejays needs to take in the offseason..

"He gave up back to back home. Run so. I think i'm more confident that the mariners or the red sox would lose at least one game than the blue jays sweeping the orioles. Because i mean still. You're looking at the odds of two to three the odds of that happening. I think for the red sox and for the mariners are a lot higher than blue sweeping. The orioles had to where. Just where i stand on it. Also we need to factor in the fact that the offense like let's be really or the offense was not really there in that series. So are in this series against the yankees. So if you're if you're the bluejays you have like maybe in theory. You have the pitching advantage..

"For the the tower that i was dealing with. You know they don't have a great reputation to the development project since i've seen it being described as a psycho social experiment gone wrong. I mean grand lot about like. There was a lot of a lot about similar projects in france as well. And you know you had the pruitt ego. In in new york there were all these towerblocks kind of utopian social housing schemes. That ended up. You know being demolished a lot of them. Were i mean i eventually when i did show the projects. Someone came someone an architect him in and said it was only mental last. That long was never meant last any longer. That was the life fifty years fifty years. Yeah yeah it actually. I think he told it last longer than it was supposed to. Last which readings like to the idea something so such a huge amount of housing to be obsolete in written obsolescence business Counterpart of modernized. Modern isn't as well as batch. Yes and you talk about. Mullets modernised buildings. And i'm not talking you on your few architecture students but what is she saw. It defines a modernist building. Oh gosh that's sad. I would have been looking at a like. When i i was looking at actually rather liked the bull cold from five house to our house by tom wolfe which. I don't know that architects really liked. 'cause it's rather cynical of the modernist movement and look and and this very modular kind of building and what i was interested in was like modernist. Art like the mondrian arch. That's very linear and graphic. On based on the bridge on that association with lucre bluejays kind of building which is all very much lower. And unlike the idea i think look corbu. She believed that the house was in his shoe for living in. You know and you have dash with idea it was. I mean when i did interview people. They were very excited about what they got in ballymun when they were moving in in the beginning they were very excited about moving into ballymun and having a warm house and there.

Where three of us goof-balls matt and had a chance to start goofing around and talk about bluejays baseball. And we are now the official podcasts of jay's journal on dot com fellas. I feel weird because this is like almost like i said a full circle thing. Adam you wanna run because you're the first one of the three of us. I think that actually was part of jay's journal and then we all joined in and here we are yeah Well first of all. I feel fortunate that we were able to Be acquired and pretty much. Scouted right to be the official. Podcasts of j. Cheryl wonderful community. They're wonderful group of guys there. We've we've met a lot of people along the way And notwithstanding the two of you. Jay's journal during the two thousand fifteen season Sort of fell off. Because my wife and i were getting married so i kinda didn't have a lot of time to do it. But then starting south of the six. I immediately went jay's journal to pick up some people to see if they wanted to hop on the show and that's where i interacted with you guys the most so it does come full circle and it does sort of you know let you realize that you know when you have an opportunity capitalize on it and we welcome the new audience. "To bunt now. Let let me get this straight. Alejandro kirk knows how to bunt. I mean the blue jays stare Statistically or not very good with bunce but you have a guy at the plate who is it a. He's a major league hitter. He knows what to do. I don't understand why you pinch hit. Now you lose your catcher. That's something you've got also remember you pinch it for your catcher. I'm not saying recently is a bad catcher. But if you don't have to lose your catcher and now you only have one. You don't even have one on the bench so worst case something happens mcguire night. You got something to deal with that. That's a big problem but to intentionally to take the battle of a good hitters hand to bunt for him just makes absolutely zero sense to me. And i think he was even more concerning because breivik flora did bunt with two strikes now it was a successful bunt. But how i mean we would. How is this allowed. I think is is my biggest question because we saw it in the first half of the season maybe when they were still indonesian. but i think it was santiago. Sprawl was told to bunt with two strikes and he bunted. Foul bluejays lost her opportunity. And i really don't understand where the logic in bunting with two strikes is because you want foul on your l. boba shed. He can foul off a hundred pitches in a row and he still has to strikes whereas you bunt one pitch foul and not even like the the odds of probably hitting it fair are pretty low or whatever did you do that and opportunities out and it that was i think very concerning. Move for me i. I don't understand why you bunt with two strikes. I think a little bit more concerned about but even probably to a similar extent taking the battle to somebody's hand in order to bunted. It doesn't make sense to me. I'd rather keep guys in the lineup. If they don't have to leave. And i'm not seeing breivik flare couldn't have come in or wouldn't have been a good option maybe in the tenth or whatever if bluejays needed him. But i don't see the logically you have so at that point in the game..

"I don't know if you guys feel the same way but to me it's over like if you lose two games to the washington nationals and fall five games back of a wild card with forty games to play like you're out of it there. There's no chance and on top of that. You lose george springer for the remainder of the season. I know last episode. I said that if springer goes to the ten day. I l at all even if he comes back immediately after those ten days. You're done this year. And looks like springer could be out for the season so i stand by that assessment. I think they're done and i hate to say that. Obviously i don't take any joy declaring the blue jays dead. Because i am a blue jay fan. But it's as simple as that. The odds of you going on a run in this situation without george springer to me. It's slim if not impossible and you look at the numbers for like you said jay take up for making the postseason The blue jays are probably going to need at least ninety. Two wins to make the postseason. That's what it's looking like right now with the yankees surging you know. You got oakland slumping. You got boston's lumping but right now it's looking like ninety two wins. The best forty four game stretch of the season. They forty three games left before the end of the season. But the best forty four game stretch that they've been on this year is twenty eight They have to win. Twenty-nine winds to get to the end of the season. And make the postseason so and you're looking at doing all that. They're george springer if he's on the injured list with the momentum that the team has right now i just don't see it possible. I mean the the best forty four game stretchable bluejays have had this season with george springer was twenty five and nineteen. So i. i really don't see it as possible if you've got to win. Twenty nine games including some head to head matchups against oakland against new york. That got seven games against new york left. Four games are three games against oakland. Like i just. I don't see it as possible. I don't think the blue jays can do it. And it's unfortunate. But i think they're out of it and i'm willing to write off this season so definitively for you guys do you think like are you in or are you out on this team. Are they sticking around and do they have a chance or are you. Kind of the ship has sailed for you. You're done with the blue jays air because they'll still watch games. of course. i'll be cheering for them. But i i really do not see that happening. Listen it's tough because you go back and forth. While the i i've been going back and forth over is not of course. Here's the thing i'm not going to. My expectations are pretty much zero. I'm going to make it clear to you. Guys there is zero however is the do they still have a chance. I of course they do. They need a lot of things to go right..

"So that's why you hope. He's back hopefully friday at the earliest. Well what's look forward to what happens from this point on because like you said people are panicking. Some people are panicking. Some people saying days won't make the postseason panicking. Maybe that's an honest assessment as we stand now for enough games back to the second wildcard spot there two games back of new york one game ahead of seattle like you said five and five in the last ten sixty three and fifty four overall the postseason odds for them on fan graphs. On baseball reference on fivethirtyeight they're not crate fivethirtyeight and fan graphs. Both put it around thirty one percent chance to make the postseason thirty one point six percent on fan graphs. fivethirtyeight doesn't do decimal point social thirty one percent. You look at baseball reference. It's a bit better. Their forty four point three percent chance to make the postseason. That's a one day improvement of seven point six percent from what was at the start of yesterday before that loss that wind to seattle story. But you look at the eighteen. The change over the last seven days negative eighteen percent so they've lost eighteen percent chance of making the postseason over the last seven days just based on their bad run against seattle and against los angeles Maybe this is a hot take. But i think george springer goes to the injured list. The blue jays have no chance of making the postseason. I think they're out of it if that happens because like we've said he's so essential to this team and if you lose him not only. Is that a huge impact off the field. His impact in the clubhouse his impact on momentum of the team. i think you're screwed. If you lose short springer for to the ten day i'll even if it is really just ten days. I still think you're done and i hate to say that. But i think this is huge phil bluejays and i already think to be honest. It's a longshot is yes you have thirty one percent chance. According to these websites before and after games is a lot to make up yes you have a month and a half left of the season but this is different than the division if your four and a half games back in the division you have those head games and yes. The blue jays have had games against oakland. They have a couple games. Left against the yankees..

"But i think it'll be a you know a significantly watered down version of what we've all come to know and love but i'm really really really hoping by two thousand twenty two. It's back to the way it's always been so we all do a tour. You've noticed ams have something to play for. They've taken a a step forward this year with some of the young players and particularly on the pitching side. Yeah it's funny. What the blue jays are are kind of looking ahead not behind right. But they're but if they look behind the first thing i see the mariners so this is a huge series for seattle bluejays. Take two out of three I think the mariners are a little bit of trouble. But if the mariners take two or three or sweet. They're you know they're helping themselves and damage that they're trying to catch. So you know i know. The trade deadline was a little bit bumpy with the grave mundell and everybody wondering you know i. I don't know if that hurt the team but of a hangover after. And they went in a bit of a tailspin after that but they've won their last two toro's graded so there is some talent there. It's funny that bluejays have run differential. You guys had talked about this up. Run differential of like plus one twenty nine or something like that or the mariners like minus forty nine. And they're only like two and a half games apart the standing something like that. It's it's funny. The blue have been blowing people out and losing close game. Answer the hip that winning close game so that occasionally get blown out so You know at the end of the year. All that matters is the wins and losses. And i think bluejays are a better team Also know the mariners have been pitching really well lately at the blue jays. You're gonna see three guys this weekend so it will be a challenge for the blue jays to win the series. I know that They have to stop in washington before they get back home. So the trip goes Coast to coast here but we saw how well the blue jays played in those games in toronto for the first time in what was six hundred seventy days or whatever. The number was i like. Is that home-field bump real real and can they sustain it. I think it is real now you know. Is it nine into every home. Stand that kansas city cleveland or a couple of teams not playing great. But i think the. I think the players were so happy to be home that it that it did. Give them a bit of a bump. And i think there's a lot of stuff in and to buffalo to the absolute best that they courtesy should be commended for it but these are major league ballplayers trying to compete at the highest level against other major league teams and it was tough on them. You know they. Most of the time donated almost all the time..

"My check take two is the audio coming through. We are back bluejays fans. Jaybird washing fans welcome in. We are recording thursday night as kind of like a pre game show between the toronto blue jays and the los angeles. Angels the final game of this four-game series between the two teams. My goodness while pitching metric. We have tonight. Jose burritos against shohei. Ohtani adam craig. How're you guys doing. My co host doing well. Why don't you do random above ground layer. I'm moving out of the basement into our in the living room. Basically to finally have in my own office. I'm kind of feeling like i'm moving on up just like the blue jays the tower. But i'm working my way. They're at their home. You get there too but They got up to a good start since the last time we recorded in terms of getting into the playoffs the unfortunate thing is the athletics and yankees and then alternating days between the red sox and the raise. They just don't want to seem to lose anymore. But gentlemen adam craig my goodness. I know when we recorded last week. I think we were pretty optimistic about the blue jays. Chances against the boston red sox last week i think we all predicted three four. We were correct. They were this close from sweeping them and it would have been just a game back boston. Had they done that. They lead the series three games back. And we're done with the boston red sox for the year which is crazy to say considering that when that series ended it was still very early august. And there's a lot of baseball left fifty seven games remaining bluejays. Three back of the red sox. Four back of actually. I guess now. Four and a half back of oakland because they won again today against the cleveland indians so craig. Let's start with you. How awesome was that series to save at least like it started on friday alec. Munaf throws another good game saturday. We get a thrilling walk off win with markelle simeon hitting home run in the bottom of the seventh after really well pitch game by robbie ray they lose two one in extra innings. Another good start from jose burritos his second. Good one as a blue jay. And then the dramatics of sunday. Like i think that series just Maybe woke up the rest of baseball a little bit and said the bluejays are firmly in this playoff race. They ready to go. What were your biggest takeaways from those. Four games with the red sox. I think we made the joke last week. That when the bluejays are playing the royals that that may be. I think it was the collective group here that we were saying. That santiago's espinel catch might bend. The turning point can really cemented that whole idea over the weekend. Here against the red sox. Red sox are looking like a fractured team. At the moment they took all advantage of it except for that. One game in the double header. And that's unfortunately bluejays mo doubleheaders at all this year period. Anyways going out of a double header with a split and doing everything else they did. That was properly appropriate..

It looks ridiculously fun. And i you know. I feel bad for whoever Owns those big jugs of gatorade. Because i feel like those are getting thrown around once team's starts going on a run but it's it's amazing it's it's good to be a likeable team you know you. You don't want to be that team that everybody dislikes now arming. I'm elise fancy understand when when the rest of the league. The league hates you but to be on the other end of that. I think it definitely is entertaining. And it's bluejays are a good team and they're going to be a good team for a long time so it couldn't be better honestly mark you're completely right and i feel like you would even have more support to that. If you were there this weekend. I mean that game friday other. I wasn't lucky enough to go. See the battista backflip. I was there for the welker game with edwin other than that game. I think friday had to be the most enjoyable time. I've ever been to a game just because of the vibe. Just because of the excitement the buys that fifteen k. You didn't even notice them. You noticed that it felt a full building and going back to twenty nineteen jacob. You're talking about it. Just the you know the rebuild that this team went through the dark days that there were and you know if you were to say after going sixty seven and ninety five and.

"bluejays" Discussed on Section 138
"And i think a lot of teams are in this same place. It's not just the blue jays you i mean. We're talking about the analee earlier. You have teams like the phillies the braves. They have no idea where they are. You know you have the nationals cubs in the central. Although looks like they're definitely going to sell so many teams are just. Don't know what they're doing right now Because i feel like the postseason picture. This year is different than it has been in previous years especially for the blue jays. The blue jays aren't out of it but they're not directly within striking distance. They got gotta make a push if they want to make it to the postseason but i. I don't know. I really have no idea what's going on with this team. I have no idea where they are. And i think a lot of people are in the same position. I think i heard them talking about this on jay talk but the blue jays aren't going to rip up the plan last minute and change things totally over the next four or five games. I don't care if they lose the rest of the games they're gonna stick to their plan. This is a front office that is very clinical scientific cold and calculated they. Don't you know flip plans on the flip of a switch. They have exactly what they wanna do late. Show and i don't think that changes whether the blue jays win or lose is just question of what that plan is like. What in the world are they thinking. I have no idea. i can't guess i. I really think it's unlikely that they move. Someone like margaret simeon robbie ray but it's not out of the question. Buster only on espn Baseball tonight sunday night baseball yesterday. He mentioned that. Marcus simeon. I mean this doesn't come as a surprise but margaret simeon get a huge draw on the trade market and that he could perhaps emerge on the marketplace as an infielder available to contenders. So you know you never know. It's it's up in the air at this point what the blue jays wanted to do. So i interested in your thoughts about what you guys bluejays. What you guys think. The blue jays approach will be Over the next week. But i am baffled as anyone. I have absolutely quite honestly. I mean the way i see it the team that they have right now with a few exceptions with some guys that are going to be upcoming free agents is the team that will eventually take them to the world series. And if it's not going to be this year. I predicted it. When they signed george springer. I was probably inaccurate with that but realistically the team that they have right now is the team. That's this is their core. And if you go and acquire somebody say you. We talk about nelson cruz. He's not available anymore. You require him or you. Acquire an elite starting pitcher. I don't think that that's enough to get them to the world series even if it was you or i don't think that maybe enough to get them to the playoffs and that's primarily because the core they have is still probably a year away from from getting there honestly. That's just the way. I see the like we know the offense. We talk about the offenses. It is what it is a good offense. It's pretty much guaranteed all of them. All the guys they have for next year. Same thing.

"bluejays" Discussed on Jay Bird Watching
"What do you what say you well. Tomorrow's game is going to be entertaining with reverse and grank. I think that's going to be fun. bluejays haven't really fared well against cranky. Especially i think it was. What was it. Mother's day that they played ranking. And yeah you can still go for like three hundred twenty. Yeah yeah seventeen better. He struck. I wanna say but in the past twenty two is that i read on twitter. Today i don't whatever blue jays batters equal bat against that cranky. He's he's gonna be rough but then again bluejays are on a roll right now when it comes to how they're hitting so hopefully they'll be able to figure it out. Are you asking for predictions for the whole series. Only series against the astros. Seen you start off the conversation this whole stretch is going to be rough. 'cause what are they got houston and then chicago and new york and boston new york. Yes rough fuck it. Let's go two out of three two three. Okay so at brennan what do you. How do you think we're going to face throughout the astra series against what we just laid out. I wish i was as confident as out of i. I signed me up for one game. Unfortunately i think in this stretch before we record next which is either going to be wednesday or thursday I think maybe just for consistency sake because both games all games next week or eat o'clock probably just do thursday next week but between now and then for those two series. Three three is definitely the goal. So i it's tough. I'm not sure which one maybe because there in buffalo. Maybe the two to three comes against. Houston i could see against either-or i could see it against either-or so yeah. Give me one of the three this series against houston and i'll kick off the white sox went to. I'll take two to three. They're i think they're they're a team very similar to the blue jays. Where maybe if the pitching matchups. While their way they could steal to the good thing is really pitches that game tomorrow and he will get the last game of the white sox series to which sucks as well because he misses the entire red sox.

New York Yankees miss chances, fall to Jays in opener
"Let me take you to another one yesterday yankees and bluejays on a chilly day. The opener a yankee stadium. And here's the highlights from this one. Bottom of two one. On for gary sanchez and gary. Sanchez has left the ballpark sanchez. The first yankee catcher to homer on opening day in eleven years jens have a two one league garrett cole now doing the pitching and not well oscar hernandez oh no doubt about that drills one the left in the six that ties the game two and garett cold not pleased bottom nine. Same score winning. Run it second. Aaron judge of the plate. Can he be the hero on opening day. That's the question. The answer is no judge. One for five struck out twice. We're going to extras top of the ten runners. At second randall. Grischuk pool rightfielder. Aaron judge can't get it no. We can't sixty five percent was the hit probability on this. It's an rbi double. The run comes around to score and that would be the difference. Blue jays win it three two in extras on opening day. And so back to you jessica mendoza. What's your number one takeaway from the ball game yesterday in the bronx gary sanchez. I mean you've got to remember a lot of people. Were watching last year gary sanchez. You didn't think he was eating a start or be in this lineup for the yankees. Because how bad help awesome. He was offensively last year. Being one forty seven six four strikeouts tech eight teen walks. His biggest thing coming in was to be able to sit back behind the baseball. That home run. You could use feel the pressure. Come off of him. Why because there's so many other guys in this lineup. That when they struggle. It's up to gary sanchez. And he's the difference maker to me because you know when it comes down to aaron judge who also struggled with this game carlos stanton both of those guys are prone to injuries. They're not going to be in this lineup throughout the entire season and to the big piece. That's missing because by the way it is world series or bust for the yankees team. Gary sanchez has to step up. I know it's only one game but that run was huge

MLB awards: Finalists unveiled for Manager of the Year
"The fact that MLB started doing this naming the three finalists. Am I telling you for the past couple of years, and they've they've announced the finalists for the major awards day towards being handed out next week Monday. Next Monday, is Rookie of the year man to the years next Tuesday. Cy Young is on Wednesday and then m V P, of course, is on Thursday. So to me, the most interesting one is the manager of the year, especially in the American League and usually like man who cares, But I think it's very interesting because The three guys who they've picked in the American League to be the manager of the year. One of them is Kevin Cash, who had a fantastic regular season but has been blasted for one managerial movie made in the World Series, which was taking Blake snout too early. Yeah, he pulled a Dave Roberts. Yeah, and it makes no sense to me at all. Why he would do that, And he's going to say it's the analytics. But if you look at the numbers Blake they're actually the third time through the lineup is better than he is the second time through the lineup. And he was making them look ridiculous. Absolutely. I mean, it was. It was just stupid. How bad they looked any just struck out the top three guys in the orders twice. So that means none of them had made contact Justin Turner. Mookie Betts. Corey Seager had made zero contact, and that's the Yoon said Betts doesn't swing and miss. He makes contact and he was he made. That's look ridiculous. He absolutely didn't know that. But this year better actually hit worse against lefties. Entity is right. But that's beside the point. Yes, so Kevin Cash is one Of the three managers. Charlie Montoya. The Bluejays is another one, which I think is great. And I think it's hilarious that the third manager of the heirs, Rick Renteria, who is no longer manage manager, he was relieved of his job. So we have a guy who made a horrible managerial decision guy who's no longer managing, then you're trying. Montoya.

Blue Jays face Rays as underdogs in wild card playoff series
"Playoffs start tomorrow maybe even today even yesterday as you're listening to this, we're going to go. I mean ordinarily take quite a bit of time and Karen previewing each series. But we don't have that kind of time because there are eight playoff series and they are best of three which is going to lend itself to all kinds of chaos and so we're GonNa go through each of these series intern. We're going to turn hit the high notes and then at the very end deliver, our world series picks So let's start with the top series in the American league the Tampa Bay rays versus the Toronto Slash Buffalo Bluejays. The first bullet point I have in my notes here is with because the Toronto Blue Jays with with Vladimir Guerrero junior and hundred. View. A Hundred Kirk. This is a wide team and I love and as much as as high as I am on the radio. I'm very excited. See the Blue Jays in the playoffs this help them or hurt them here I think dot you've seen all hundred kirk hit I. Think how can you? How can you say anything other than than the with helps them yeah. I like the idea that maybe Vlad as just gonNA break out suddenly in the playoffs because he's looked really good the last couple of weeks or so and it would. Be Wonderful if he just figured out how to hit the ball in the air and really had a great October and it'd be really fun if Nate Pearson came back from injury and turned into a bullpen weapon this month but I just personally don't see a great case for the Jays over the race I think they're both good teams. I. Think The an exciting team with a bright future but the race are really good and I think beyond review who is not even starting game one for the Jays I just don't have A. Lot of faith in most of that trump rotation or bullpen frankly and other than the game restarts it seems to me that Tampa Bay has the pitching edge both in the bullpen and the rotation and offensively maybe it's a wash, but it just seems to me that the the pitching edge is firmly in Tampa Bay side. So I think the Toronto Bullpen and this is going to be the kind of thing that gets said right before they give up nine runs in the seventh inning eight-game one I think it's better than baby. You think maybe they get given credit for I could see a path with this pitching because what they what they're going to try to do apparently is is bullpen game it with a match shoemaker taking up a little bit of load on the front of the maybe we get Pearson in the end of game one we haven't seen blake Snell pitched that deep in games in the postseason in the past, and then game too. I think you could make an argument that we use the best pitcher in the series. So if that happens. If. The blue, Jays do need to shoot the moon but I could see how they get it how they get it done with that said, this raise team just has so much depth in the lineup. There are good defensively they have so many pitchers not just the scary. Snell Morton tile glass now types just the I mean we saw this in the unfortunately in the for for me in the last weekend of the of the regular season where they shut down the phillies like even down to bespectacled Wade Miley who was lights out in the last game of the season yeah. The razor they've just got too much pitching I. Think as much as funny. It would be to see the the Blue Jays fight I think the the rates are going to take this one pretty handling.
