"Hi, this is Scott Hanson. This is another episode of Hansel minutes today I'm talking to the gray. WHO's on the Azure Red Team at Microsoft? How are you, sir? All Right! Don't pretty well so red team. What is that? So the red team is or a red team. General is a team that performs adversary immunization, so our job is to pretend to be the bad guys and tackle your stuff. Seriously like adversary emulation that is pretty awesome way to phrase it. At the official like a formal terminology for it. People were like Oh. Yeah, you're hackers and they kind kinda just put everybody in the same the same bubble. Read seeming like a very specific form of it. Like pen is Red teamers and vulnerability assessment assessor isn everyone does a really different job, but our job is to to pretend to be act or act as real attackers. Is there a blue team of her? That term as well, yeah, so the Bluefin, our counterparts, and they're the ones defending right, so their job is to. Be Able to detect convict. or in sometimes real attackers. Okay, so hang on your the adversary emulator. You are pretending to be evil. You're the red team. The Blue Team is like maybe sitting in the same building, and they're on the other side trying to keep you out figuratively speaking. Yeah, they're on the figuring. Speak everything we're saying is speaking I don't mean they're legitimately in the next over, but like from a boxes and lines perspective. Do you all have lunch together? Do you even know who they are like? The teams are they separated? Separated in hidden from each other, so at Microsoft there's a bunch of red.

Oh, I'm not criticizing the fine should be higher considering how you of those fish in that fishery in the waste that should be twenty six twenty six K for a white tail in here. You have like a year you have like a fair reading speech. Yeah. Like a fairly depleted species. And it wasn't if we I've Ford around that article about that bluefin the first bluefin of the season that went elderly million bucks for a million bucks now. Oh, yeah. Just Japanese fish market, the head to write fat content. Yup. And it was the first absolute though, this dude got a million for a bluefin. Well, over a million if I remember, correct? I don't know what they do. But very interested in. Fat. And I'm sure a host of other color fat. And all that, and you either got gold or you don't have gold. And he says it's hard to tell a he couldn't tell. Yeah. But they damn sure. No. I was just watching that documentary Jiro dreams of sushi. Good very good. But oh, man. It was amazing to see them go to the fish market and the guys like the tuna side. He's like a wish there was some actual tuna here. And there's like a warehouse full of these big giant beautiful look in tuna. And there's just there's all garbage to him. Yeah. And it's amazing. They can around let him down to where they stack I'm like cordwood. Cores menial, learn horrors. Yeah. This guy was this bluefin tuna. They found out in the woods was miss had. It's head cut relieve the collar on. The core. I mean, why don't you just I'm dying to know what was going through the psychological burden and this man from where he's like. No, screw it. I'm hauling to the woods. I'm keeping it on the boat. I'm not turning it back. Or was it like bleeding from the gills? And he was just like, man. Why would I throw this thing back to the shark? Well, that's the difference between dumping it out. That's like you. Call and fish and game. Yeah. Or you just cut the line. Once you realize what you got. Yeah. But I just wonder if there's something that like made him be like, okay. Screw kick the doors open hall. "It is crazy like whenever tuna I one of sushi, and I love to an end sushi, although you shouldn't eat too much of it because to tune it does have a lot of mercury and you wanna risk mercury poisoning by eating too, much sushi. But it also makes me think of the will Ferrell movie like the good guy or no. Oh, shoot. No. I'm going to forget it. But there's a scene in the movie where will Ferrell talks, but how he's going to be a bluefin tuna and beat up Mark Wahlberg? Who said he's going to be like tiger or something. And I really like that scene. I think it's hilarious, man. I cannot remember the name of that movie. I am so sad about that. But anyway, the tuna is being overfished which concerns me I love tuna like. Just to eat. And then also to admire because I love looking at tuna in aquarium because it's huge. It's like a really mighty fish. I love watching it swim around because if you look at it compared to the other fish, it's just gigantic it just dwarfs any other fish. I think it's cool. And I'm really sad that it is being. Over-fished obviously because like the taste for is going up because I feel like the taste for tuna has gone up. So I am quite sad. Just that that is happening because I love the fish. But anyway, experts are warning of the possible extinction of this fish. There are apparently these stocks of the Pacific bluefin depleted has been depleted by ninety six percent from the pre industrial levels. So the amount of Pacific bluefin tuna has been depleted by ninety six percent. That is crazy. Also, I did remember the welfare movie is the good guys. Which is what I know. Sorry. It's the other guys. I apologize. So anyway, I find the move very funny, and I just can't think of two thousand about welfare quote about his family becoming tuna and then going up to beat Mark Mark's family. Anyway, the celebrations surrounding the annual Pacific bluefin auction. Unfortunately, kinda hides how deeply the trouble is with the species. So I guess this auction also is just tuna not necessarily other fish, but there are signs of progress towards perfect protecting the bluefin, Japan and other governments have backed plans to rebuild just the amount of blue fin tuna in the seas. There is a target of twenty percent of the historic levels by twenty thirty four. So hopefully that will occur is progress toward legislation to protect the tuna. Also, the decades old to no the decades home to to ski. Gee, I'm so sorry everyone. The decades old market was one of Japan's most popular tourist destinations as well as the world's biggest fish market, and they knew market which the new market which opened in October. They're like businesses that have stayed where the location of the old market was. But basically nearly all of them which is around five hundred. Plus wholesalers and businesses has changed to this new location. Also, if you're curious the old location of this market is due to be redeveloped. But for now, it has been turned into a parking lot in preparation for the twenty twenty Tokyo Olympics, which interesting it's always interesting to me how cities at the change to prepare to host the Olympics. Like, just the amount of infrastructure is crazy. I don't know it blows my mind along with the size of tuna also blows my mind, but thank you all so much for listening that at the end of our show, and I hope you can tune into the next weird news episode..

But it is also a reflection of the scarcity of large Pacific bluefin tuna. They are officially listed as an endangered species. And since the middle of last year prices in Tokyo have climbed by more than forty percent BBC news. Hello and welcome back to the world this week where exploring the place beyond a rock, which are NASA probe is reached four billion miles from us. The most distant object man's technologies yet visited a little closer to home. China has landed a probe on the far side of the moon benefiting. Mankind says Beijing, but should we fear? It's global reach never mind. It's extraterrestrial one and should Bangladesh's Prime Minister be embarrassed by her election success, but I the earth and the moon are locked in an eternal dance as each moves on it's axis. So does the other which means there's a side of the moon? The earth's never seen until this week when following a virtual news blackout. China's space agency announced that Chinese four a probe had successfully landed on terrain fall rougher than natto which Diehl Armstrong took one small step for man. One giant leap for mankind. The head of. The agency says China will carry on exploration in the hope of benefiting mankind skeptics might see that as a good public relations statements rather than a reflection of China's true objectives. Michael Bristow are East Asia editor came into the world this week studio to discuss whether it's time to see China as a force for good. Although a couple of different things I see there's the science behind it. And it was a genuine scientific achievement is also the politics about it. It's a propaganda coup for the Chinese leader Xi Jinping his big theme since he came to power was promoting something which he calls, the Chinese dream essentially returning China to its proper place as one of the world's leading countries. And part of that is to put China at the full front of science and technology. Of course, at also has an economic spinoff because it allows China to develop technology, which can be used to make money that China is a signatory to wool the regulation that exists the green zone outer space activities. So there's no suggested the Chinese are going to start kind of setting up mining robots than the moon or anything like that. It's going to be collaborative. And they was stressing public comments about their commitment to expanding knowledge for mankind. But I suppose people will think back down on earth. China's approaches Norway's so collaborative certainly you would be right. Be slightly wary of those claims the Americans have banned the Chinese from being involved in space program because they're concerned about the transfer of technology in China stealing secrets, but even when we're not talking about space. There were all kinds of concerns about whether China's development of technology is for the benefit of everybody or whether it's just for the benefit of China. A perfect example of that would be the telecom company hallway, which is perhaps China's most international company the can accompany likes project and promote because it shows all the best of Chinese learning, and and technology a genuine international company, but yet over the last. Eight year all more a number of different countries around the world of being fearful of allowing way to use technology to develop telecom infrastructure in their countries. I was in the Carribean a few years back. I was very struck on the island of Dominika by the presence of Chinese workers. Chinese laborers, a big sports stadium that had been built by the Chinese government is a gift the people of Dominique how does China defend that kind of relationship, which even some on the island worry about how it's going and others might say is not so very different from the sort of colonial activity that was seen by European countries. Like, the UK what essentially and a half ago, there is certainly a case to be made that China's only doing what other countries primarily western countries have done before China's argument is essentially this making everybody we h he's not only going to benefit China. The Chinese would say it's going to benefit everyone else as well. And so. This kind of development. You talk about issues China's gift to the world to help them. Enjoy the economic benefits act. China itself is enjoyed what are the risks of conflict over this approach. A first economic lists. Which already a number of countries, identifying example, you've seen in Malaysia Sri Lanka other countries as well where the burden of debt imposed on those countries by China because of the money, it's loan them each too much. And then the failure is that at once you get to a country, then you have to sing to whatever Choon that it plays on a wider scale as well. It's the idea that China is completely different in its outlook to the western world where we value an individual rights the rule of law tolerance, not always perfectly smooth sable. That's the aim at. But in China, it's a one party state is the Chinese communist party, they given anything. They can do whatever they liked. So the thing is, of course, that this is a country we've at completely opposite ideals to the western world. So what do they want where were they going? What do they do if they don't get what they want Michael Bristow Chinese diplomat's among the first I hasten to Brasilia when Bolsonaro won Brazil's presidential election. Some privileges that many people had mainly lower ranking sub officials in the armed forces. That's quite a contrast in terms of his background to to Obrador in Mexico who who is kind of more steeped in politics, but also for quite a long time back Lopez over Dory is a different person. I'd close the books completely. I was looking off to members of royalty from all over the world. British royalty, European films does muddles Popstars and it just grew. It grew at the most phenomenal, right so much so that. Within three or four years. We were looking at a business that was was starting to backfire a slot on us because it was growing so fast. Wow. And this was all word of mouth would mouth? No advertising. It was just me. I was the receptionist. I was the facialists I was the chemist. I was the bookkeeper. You name it for somebody that was told at school, and this is a really important thing for young people to to remember today never be defined in your life by other people's opinions of you. You will define your own dreams and your own goals and your own determination. And it's a really, I'm a living example that if I believed what people had said about me, I would never be sitting here talking to you today. I love that and your book the mission statement, you say, forget what everyone else is doing. Go on your own direction, get it right, but most of all be original, stay true to yourself. You know what? People that try and be somebody else, whether it's through their voice or the behavior or the lifestyle. You never happy b. Be who you all be true to you all as creators. And I believe everybody in this world has a diamond about them, something that creatively that is that diamond that will be precious in their life. Find it find it, seek it out and then pursue whether it's your Hopi or whether it's job and will create your way of life for whatever it is, but it is that being true to yourself that will really make you make you happy, and it's those people that changed the world the way that you came to sort of what your purposes, it sounds like you had this creative childhood. You got into the the beauty industry because of Madame liberty, and yet for many people there on the search for what is that creative thing? Do you have any advice for how to think about finding it? If I if I had the answer I would be, I think it's the Jenny. I think I think we're not meant to know necessarily straight out front. I think it's the Jenny of. Pursuing something of finding who you all and making mistakes because mistakes are a vital. When I look at all of the things I've done in my life, some of the greatest things that have happened to me because I took a wrong turn. Tell me about that. Tell us about one of the the wrong turns that turned into the best thing. Yeah. What some of the greatest products you create all you know a wrong turn and you add something by mistake and then you smell it and you think my goodness put just putting the smells incredible. But like penicillin Palestinian was created because of pasta, put put something on a on a window shelf and it changed and it changed history. So sometimes those things when I walked away from John McCain and I made that cool, I left that business and I realized 48-hours running up to leaving that business is making the biggest, probably mistake of my life and what was I going to do and who was I n?
