When you see those blue lights in your rearview mirror, you know a police car is not far behind. In Virginia, state police are adding another color to their emergency lights. Researchers at the Virginia tech transportation institute have found the drivers pay attention a few seconds sooner when an emergency vehicle on the side of the road flashes red, as well as blue lights. So it's more time for people to respond. It's more time for people to get out of the way. It's more time for them to abide the move over law, the critical move over law. Professor Ronald gibbons lighting study has led to Virginia state police now equipping new vehicles with red and blue emergency lights. The researchers believe the addition of red lights will lead to drivers merging sooner to the farther lane and also slowing down while passing the state police car on the side of the road. News. Are We Now a Banana Republic?

"This is the kind of stuff that happens in these banana republics. And I don't mean to pick on Brazil. So if anyone's from Brazil, I apologize in advance, but let's face it in Brazil, like everyone goes to jail. It's in the government. I mean, think about Lula, he went to Dale. Of course, now he's president again, go figure Dilma Rousseff didn't she go to jail as well. This is not the United States of America. I don't love the story. I don't even like to say the words stormy Daniels, but they're alleging, of course, that he paid her off in this kind of hush hush money scheme. And that therefore is illegal. And then he lied about it, and maybe used campaign funds, et cetera, et cetera. This is Alvin Bragg, who's alleging all this. He is the liberal prosecutor. There are the DA in New York City whose campaign actually was funded to the tune of a $1 million by a liberal group called color of change, political action group, which actually is in part funded by George Soros. So there's a lot of blue money here behind this. And the Democrats wanted this, right? They haven't given up. They think that this motivates their base, but I get news for them. You know what this is going to do? This is actually going to help Donald Trump immensely. Immensely, because no one wants to see a former president. I'm sorry. You know what? When I see the video of Joe Biden falling on the stairs of Air Force One, I don't like it. I actually cringe, I don't like Joe Biden's policies as you well know. I don't think he's a very good president, but the last thing I want to see is him falling on the stairs over and over again. I don't like that because you know what that to me reflects on our country.

Fresh update on "blue" discussed on AI in Business

"Thanks so much for being on the program today, Elon. So diving right in, we've seen over the last half decade in AI transformation in diagnostics, but in the healthcare space, this is very nuanced. It's not taking off everywhere in diagnostics. So to dive right in, where do we see AI catching on and diagnostics and where is it not catching on? I see the biggest area that it's caught on, just in terms of overall overall topics has been within radiology. So everything from imaging to scanning and anything that kind of creates a picture, right? And so I think where I see it really catching on within radiology is helping to assist in different diagnoses. So everything from cancer to retinopathy in the eye. I mean, I think the sky's the limit. And the reason why it's taken off so much is because many of these algorithms have been trained on massive datasets, massive imaging datasets. And they can pick up on things that no human eye would ever be able to. And so I think in many of the cases, it's accurate. We may not exactly know why the algorithm is picking up on it, but in many cases, it turns out to be true. And it turns out to it really helps the overall diagnostic process, I think where there's probably still some room for opportunity is continuing to help physicians and other clinical professionals have more trust in these systems and just more guidance into why the AI is making certain prediction. That's an area I'm monitoring very closely because of the advances both in the clinical study as well as advances in some of those specific computer vision algorithms that are out there. Right. And I know this tends to be a bit of a touchy subject, but you're in a safe place. I'll say, I know in the healthcare space, a huge concern in AI is this kind of dynamic of automation and not just automation, but white collar automation and folks on the care side of HIPAA and working directly with patients tend to have this a stronger notion that AI is kind of out to get their jobs. And as you're highlighting, as we've seen in so many other sectors, it's no, it's about AI being used as a tool like glasses to enhance what professionals are seeing and make it more accurate and that seems to be the case being made in diagnostics, especially with imagery as you're saying here. Is that right? Yeah, I would agree with the second take that you mentioned where it's more of a more of a tool that's going to help better better assist clinical professionals. The analogy that I think of is when computers were really first starting to come into the workforce. I think there were many of those similar concerns. Is it going to take away jobs? What am I going to do in my job? And I think in many cases what it did is it made people a lot more productive. It also took away some of the tasks that would take hours, days, even months to do. I see that same analogy for using AI. I think it's really just another tool in the toolbox. And I think there are a lot of things that physicians and nurses have to do right now that they rather wouldn't so that they could actually focus more of their time, practicing their craft and really operating at the top of their license. Yeah, it seems to be kind of this tug of war of realizing what AI can do and bring to your job and also coming to the realization that AI is finite and can't do everything. So just to lean a little bit more on where is it not catching on? I know, especially in diagnostics, this seems to be or the transformation here as you were mentioning seems to be driven by image by image data because that's very easy to at least build a model around and train and train a model on. Especially cross based and for looking at images in different ways for a specific criteria like diagnosing cancer and radiology. Now, taking a deeper look, where does AI's ability end in diagnostics? Where have we seen in anticipated to take on but not? I think in the, in the diagnosis process itself. So if we, if we pair it back, let's say you go in and you see your primary care physician. And you have a cold or some other minor ailments. Right now it's very difficult for any type of AI algorithm or even solution to help fully diagnose what you have. And I think the reason for that is because the diagnosis process, it's not just based on medical journals or best practices, a lot of it is done face to face. So there are a lot of visual cues. There's the unspoken body language, if somebody has a fever, they might be more red. So there's all of these other tactile elements that haven't yet been combined into a good enough solution. And so I see that as taking longer than maybe people anticipated. And I think the other piece of that is when you are training an AI model on many of the medical journals, the medical knowledge, in many cases, there isn't necessarily that ground truth, right? So medical knowledge is changing year by year, practices that were done in the past are either being discontinued or changed going forward. And that can make it difficult. It's part of the entire scientific process that the scientific method, which once again creates challenges for trying to integrate AI as a part of the solution. It's very interesting because I'm going to jump ahead a little bit here because I find it relevant that we find with, especially image data, there's huge applications of AI, but we can't really say or draw this line in the sand that it's definitely imagery where it takes off in language is just this dead zone. Because the other thing that we're seeing across healthcare that you mentioned in emails and we can talk about even more later in the program is generative AI using large language models as an emerging use case and how things like chat GPT and similar technologies are making an impact on the healthcare space. What do you think differentiates that use case say from, you know, kind of other language based areas like you were just saying with, you know, training a model on the academia, the studies. What's the big difference there in terms of crossing that language barrier

I'm ecstatic for these guys. Get to another sweet 16. That's 8 in a row, which is just an incredible testament by our program and what we've been able to do these last 8 years. Look, those two tracks, which we've been to. We played, we put out video, we did barstool classic, true blue. Those two tracks, Mike strantz, are as good a golf course as I've seen anywhere in my life. To Caledonia's trees, we didn't play Caledonia when we took our trip, did we? No. Oh, dude, so we went down there for the barstool classic and it was a true blue and then we went and shot some things at Caledonia. I want to make a trip down there to Blake Caledonia because that place is unreal. It's like the most beautiful course you've seen. Seriously. You can't believe it's Mike strands that was like more reserved. So it's a little bit more classic style golf course with just the craziest bunkers you've ever seen in your entire life. Pro-Moscow voices tried to steer Ohio train disaster debate

"The U.S. government is alleged that Russia interfered with the last U.S. election by spreading false information on social media. Now it seems Russian voices are commenting on Ohio's toxic train derailment. A London based nonprofit called reset detected that some two weeks after the February train derailment in east palestin, Ohio, anonymous pro Russia and social media accounts started spreading misinformation. They used Elon Musk's new blue Czech verification system on Twitter. To expand their reach, creating the illusion of credibility. These accounts echoed Kremlin talking points, claiming authorities were lying about the impact of the chemical spill. And criticizing President Biden for offering food and water to Ukraine, but not to the people affected in Ohio. While some comments may have originated with Russian back groups, there were anti American posts from Americans. When The Associated Press reached out to some of these Twitter authors. One responded shut up, and then blocked their reporter. I'm Jackie Quinn

I was obviously a lot of uncertainties with being in being the a all year and first game in a long time, but I thought the guys put really well in front of me and kind of kept in the outside and like I said earlier, super nice to get the one. "Talking to Spencer clavin, who has written a new book how to save the west ancient wisdom for 5 modern crises. There's only one other book with the plural word crises in it that I can think of written by Richard Nixon. Did you know that? 6 crises. 6 crises written by Nixon. Yeah, I think it was the late 70s, his saddle river period. You mentioned before we're talking about the classics, which inevitably come up when you're talking about the west. We're talking about the ancient Greeks and what does Athens have to do with Jerusalem. And just a fun fact, just because no one else will care about this, but I think you might. You mentioned, first time on this program, anyone has ever mentioned Ajax, telemon, Ajax. There you go. I want to meet them. Beef witted Ajax in the words of Shakespeare. But what I loved is when I realized that Ajax was the anglicization of the Greek ayas, depending on how you pronounce it, right? And then I realized, oh yeah, in the 1920s, whenever they came up with Ajax, the cleanser that people use to clean their sinks and whatever. It's because it's strong. So there was once a culture. In the 1920s and 30s, when people were so literate in the classics, that everyone know Ajax was like Hercules. He's strong. And how depressing. Right? Okay, but it gets weird. Oh, yeah. It gets weirder. I was in Greece because I'm Greek. And I saw a canister of Ajax, and you'd think that what would the Greek version of Ajax, the blue dot cleanser? What would the Greek version be called? Of course, it would be IS, right? Naturally. A zeta alpha Kappa. Wow. And I thought no one in the world cares about this, but me and someday in the future. Maybe I'll have Spencer clavin on. And I'll let him know that I had this crisis.

The Major Questions Doctrine

"Yeah, yeah. General Clement, when I read the D.C. circuit's opinion, which is a two one opinion. I read that after I read your petition for shirt before I wrote my Washington Post column, they seem to treat the Supreme Court new precedent on administrative law the way that the national marine fisheries service treated the comment. It was like a potemkin village notice and comment here. 90% of the notice and comment responses that don't do this, you'll kill us and the national marine fisheries service just dismissed them. Well, the D.C. circuit took a look at what the Supreme Court has been saying about administrative law and they said, we are fully aware of that, but this isn't that. And I said, oh my gosh, this is exactly that. I mean, isn't that your reaction? This is exactly what the major questions doctrine or other changes. Maybe they just need a two by four to get it right. Well, sometimes the court has to give an unmistakable message to the courts of appeals before they'll listen. You know, I had a case last term completely different area of the law. But for years and years and years, the Supreme Court had basically been saying, we've moved away from our lemon test in the establishment clause context. And last term, the court got frustrated with lower courts not getting the message and just made it unmistakably clear in the case involving coach Kennedy. And I think we may need something else in the administrative law area.

The Merits of "chevron Deference"

"Welcome back, America. I'm guilty here and thank you for joining me this morning. Now I'm about to talk about Chevron deference and my steeler fans friends think that means there's a line at the gas station like under Jimmy Carter. That's not what it is, but you need to understand Chevron deference and you and to understand why a new court filing in loper bright enterprises versus raimondo may finally lead to what we need in this country, which is a checking in of the administrative state. It's been filed by the former solicitor general of the United States. Paul Clement, who joins me now. General Clement, welcome to the Hugh Hewitt show. Great to talk to you. It's great to be with you. You know, I'm very happy to talk about that. You are a friend of Carol plant lebao and she'd been telling me for years. How can you not know Paul Clement? You know, ruxley, you know, Ted Olson, you knew chuck Cooper and, you know, ten stars. I just never run across and he's too young. So am I correct you've argued more than a hundred Supreme Court's arguments thus far? That's right here. I have argued more than a hundred cases, quite amazing to me. That is so fabulous. And I have personally recommended this man to people when they are looking for Supreme Court litigators because you don't want to send in the local council actually to target before the Supreme Court. This case of loper bright though, caught my eye, Paul Clement, because I teach con law and I try and explain Chevron deference and even law students eyes glaze over, but it can't be an issue for the administrative conference. It can't be an issue for administrative lawyers and professors. It matters to every small business in American carrying great burdens of regulation. Will you explain what Chevron deference is and then what loper bright is going to try and do I delight it to. So the thing about Chevron at least that makes me so kind of concerned about it is you and I have a lawsuit and we disagree about the meaning of a statute. The court is ultimately going to have to figure out which one of us is right. And there's no tie breaker. They have to do all the work and they have to get to a point where they just give their best impression as to what the statute means. But if instead of having a legal dispute with you, I have a legal dispute with a federal government agency, then instead of the courts having to get the statute just right. And figure out what's the best reading of the statute. They essentially get to look at it and unless the statute is clearly in my favor. Then basically the courts will defer to the government.

"Last question on this Dave McCormick, one of my comments yesterday flying cross country was billions for the blue bubble boys in Silicon Valley and you don't get the time of day if you're an eastern Ohio or western Pennsylvania on the derailment. Some people thought that wasn't fair, but I believe it's all of a sudden these connected VCs are on the phones of their buddies in D.C.. They get action in 48 hours. We still haven't got the president in east Palestine, and you know that area very well. I mean, you grew up there. You probably are closer to each Palestine than I am. It was 40 miles down the road from Warren, but it's probably less from where you grew up. Yeah. Well, you know, from where I was born, certainly. Yeah, I grew up in a different part of the state, but I grew up around Scranton, but I was born right near there and I've been talking to my Friends at beaver county. Who are most affected by it. And I agree with you a 100% in the following sense. The thing that I discovered on the campaign trail, the thing that I felt more visceral I should say on the campaign, the thing that I think president Trump tapped into in 2016 is that there's this disconnect where the people that are making policy in Washington and the excel a bubble between Washington, New York are completely disconnected and really not particularly focused on or care about the people that are living in mainstream America. And that certainly the case with and these Palestine thing is essentially a good example, not because the president is showing up would have changed the outcome necessarily or even change the policy. It would have been reflective of actually caring and being connected to the people that are most affected by it. And it's the same with fentanyl, it's the same with fracking. It's the same with inflation. It's the same with the open border. These are issues which are being felt by a huge part of America, and that was really the inspiration for the book.

"Asking him help us bring some of Elon Musk. Why not? To help his project in project and building new Apple on this money. Now that's probably some very good help. Leonardo DiCaprio, Richard Branson, a maybe even Elon Musk. They could help finance the new antonov AN two two 5. But the financing, that's still a massive problem on one side. It's unclear how much it will cost to rebuild the AN two two 5. And on the other side, we almost certainly don't know even yet that Ukraine won't have the funds to cover the rebuilding once the war is over. So should the rear maybe become an international project Dimitri and it's not Ukraine in just only it only world can do it aviation world and total because it's not so simple. It's one side expensive in our society. It's a big work because we need to build this cooperation with old world. So the actual work on the aircraft didn't begin as of yet. Just work still investigation and progress with first one. And not finish yet. We have no the final decision of what we can use from first aircraft and just only starting the project with how to looks like new aircraft. We will use in future. It's very important. We need to somebody to help our company state company antonov to start this work and to maybe start to help Ukraine to start this book. And just paperwork. And when war is finished, I believe we will start real work with new aircraft. It's not possible to do anywhere in the world because it's very big, big things. It's anywhere because it's a real piece of aircraft. So some really nice insights here by Dimitrov antonov, the chief product of the antonov company and the chief pilot, the former chief pilot of the AN two two 5, which might be rebuilt here in the special interview with sky blue radio. You are listening to the big T show, and will continue with another interview with the CEO, the general director of the antonov company, but before we do that, we

The fruit trees that have to be within the greenhouse can be stored in there as well on a year long basis. When thing we do have it's for a long term goal is to have what i call the beehive which is basically the length of a three car garage. Two stories tall one of the base top and bottom will be like guest house. One of the base on the bottom on the other side is going to be half plexiglass. People can see how we process hunting and see how that works in how we make the wax and how we can poured into molds. Make the candles. The center portion of that bottom will be a little store with bombs lotions candles fruits jellies jams vegetables. I mean everything you can think of in their the top floor. Who's gonna be kind of like a staircase on the top floor is gonna be like a little library. A lot of author friends can put their books in there with the card in it. "That were all in like none of us. Human beings are better than any other person will have. Different benefits are or possibilities. We all different privileges that we that we have or lack of privilege. I think my interest in all different cultures has been has been really about that. Like where do i come from. And how does it fit in with other people and then we're other people come from. Where does it fit in. And how can i create a conversation. Among very different people were everyone is equal and sharing information and dreams and going towards something that all is the same thing. And i've found that it's an incredibly really challenging very hard thing to do because we all do have different opportunities and so i made a film in senegal a few years ago so i go to senegal on and it's a film about of village that no longer practices child marriage or fdic. Female genital cutting. So it's a huge transformation so we come in. I'm american privileged and many people from my education or whatever we're going to be like. How could anybody do that. That's like the most horrible thing and then you look at them like those are horrible people. How could they do that. It's a human rights issue. It's a very it's horrible to hurt. Somebody's body but it's also. There is a reason Like that didn't just come from nowhere. Those people lead that they were serving their daughters by marrying them office children and doing ftc because after them pure for the husband and then it was all part of of thinking system in a cultural system. How do we then all communicate with each other so that i can help them. If this journey is that they don't want to be doing this anymore. Without forcing my view and giving them a voice so that other people can understand what their perspective is in why this actually existed before and a now why they've come to to make a change to it the biggest cultural thing that i'm really have always been drawn to and i have no idea how to tackle it but.

Were in the middle of Being in quarantine my life changed abruptly on march twelfth. When it was a thursday and at lunchtime i was on a long term subbing position with kindergartners teaching them writing. Which was the hugest privilege to work with. Kindergartners in have have be one of their first experiences of identifying. What's going on in their head with what they're putting on the paper and having other people understand it. It's a huge privilege but so during lunch we all kind of discovered this thing was going on in the actually probably things we're going to be closed down and then our governor of new york was really not wanting to shut the schools and all of a sudden after lunch. We all the kids having washing their hands like every second and then the next day we came back to school and it was like the handwashing in the chaos and we should close schools in. Oh my god this this crisis we're gonna everybody's gonna get this disease just by being around each other. So i went from having like a twelve hour.
