THIS REP'S #1 SUPERPOWER TO BECOME #1 IN ENTERPRISE SALES

"Carly welcome to the show was way getting started. Gives background on yourself. Yeah employed think things for having me. Brian I started out in sales about four years ago I started at memory blue. Which i don't know if you're familiar with memory blue or not but they basically breeding grounds for Inside sales professionals. And i got fortunate enough to work with a lot of technology clients And help them with their inside sales strategy so over time. I ended up Building a lot of really close relationships with those technology clients before i moved onto my new gig element analytics where any sales have to work with Enterprise industrial companies for data management so. That's a quick synopsis. what i do. What was it like. I do know memory blue. And that market is isn't it yeah I have such a close and special relationship. With with mark and chris and tommy and limit he might as well and i wouldn't trade it at all. It was really decision But as most folks no you just have to evaluate where you are in your career before you move on. And i wouldn't be where i am without them at all. So i'm very grateful for the ten minutes had there and i still am really close with everybody there But it was tempering a chapter. What was that like getting out of college and then being thrown into that. Because that's kind of the boy. Yeah it really is. It really is so. When i was in college i went to virginia tech and i studied public relations and i thought i wanted to get into marketing. And what i noticed when i was interviewing or even applying jobs you know. Nobody wanted anybody without experience. You had to have a year or change to get a job. And i stumbled across memory blewett career. They were the only company. I had time to speak with had the career fair and they gave me a chance and to be honest. I don't think. I realized i was going to be cold calling. I don't have you know friends or family and sale so it was really new experience for me But when i was younger I'm a triplet. So i have two sisters competitive growing up and i really found my place at memory. Blue and you know was a transition for the first few weeks but it was so much fun and the environment is very competitive. And that's something that i carry with me today. Was it awkward at first you. You'd never done it before you never knew who done before it was awkward. You know. I remember the first guy the answer the phone i remember his name. I remember exactly how confused he when. I called him. Because i was equally confused. Yeah exactly and over time you get used to that But it was very uncomfortable. And something that i had on my desk and i still think about you know whenever i try news. Get comfortable with the uncomfortable. And i think that holds true in every self-sufficient and a lot of things in life so and how long did it take you to get used to it or did you ever get used to it. I think about two months. You know it's funny i. I'm a big people person. I love to talk to people But talking on the song was never a thing that i enjoyed. I wasn't the type of person to call home all the time in school But once they started working memory blue all they all. I was doing most talking to people on the phone. And now i love it And especially in the world today when everything's zoom or you're talking own all day long. I think it's it's great cool.

"Now, this guy would probably drink a twelve pack a day doing. So but who's to say how how that benefited him strength wise baseball and if that would have been if you would've benefited more from being in a way room like you don't know I don't know personally because someone who's done manual labor like that. You don't have a concept of like wraps or when you're done just when the job is done. So like was Bob, feller chopping trees down all winter long. Just like just said like survive and while we don't need one tree for firewood, we need fifteen trees Bob so go trap him down. You don't I don't know I. Really. Don't I understand what you're saying like we can quantify the amount of work. He's doing in the weight room and like all all what we know benefits your arm. But who's to say what he was doing wasn't benefiting his arm as much. If not more I don't know I. Really don't and I'd gamut a firm believer in. Country strengthen like old school like man's strength from the you know back when people had to work to survive not just work to get strong yet but we also know that velocity has been climbing especially rapidly in the last ten years and it it just was nowhere on average close to where it is today back then. So just take one hundred ballplayers from nineteen sixty. And try and transport them to today and give them three years to train all of those guys hit the ball way farther. All those guys are significantly harder not all of them but probably ninety, five, percent ninety. It's just human is being a human being, but the top tour Dolly may have been benefiting themselves more than we would be able to give them in the weight room unbeknownst unbeknownst us as saying like it's May yet for the majority there's not a yeah. You can never predict a training effect where some some again, if you dig hundred people and train them a couple of dislike don't get. That much better or maybe they just don't get that much benefit especially when it's something where you're training, you're doing weight training to increase speed like they should all across the board get faster. But like some maybe get way faster, some may be only get like a tiny amount faster or we both know that and you're right. Maybe they were doing something before this was unique to their body. And had some on quantifiable fact. So yeah, I. Mean you're not wrong but at the same time I think most people would bet that. Balked. Up Bob Feller with some especially targeting your shoulder which I think is probably a really important thing because they didn't do any of that. Saying I imagine he has an eke out a couple more miles per hour. Bob. Feller. Have Freakish shoulders back in the day he threw from a low arm slot to. There was a video of him I just ex yeah. There's a video of him. Actually it might have been a little hard, but there was A. There's a video of him throwing the old timers game were Hank Aaron and takes some deep throw pitch. I saw that. Really, sixty five Yeah. Just flicking the ball up there But And so there was. So for those of you listening I'm to Plug my Dad's book because my Dad William Blewett wrote a book all the signs of the fastball back until thirteen, you can find on Amazon's book, My Dad's an exceptional writer and my dad. So this book is about the three hardest throwers of all time and it's about were pitching velocity comes from a lot of theoretical stuff and some really interesting insights but. He covers the three hardest doors of all time which were Nolan, Ryan. Bob Feller and it's unknown guy named Steve Doll Kelsey. Bobby of Stevie dollhouse getting we've messed. Through. Two hundred miles an are. Well. So he was widely reported to be the hardest sort of all time like in the one tents. And from every essentially every eyewitness report, they also the same thing that his his sister said I knew Stevie was gonna go these in highschool. She's like I knew when Stevie pink because I here a pit hear him his balls kissing from the from the parking lot. He would strike out twenty and walked twenty. He was an orioles minor leaguer than blue his arm out. So, there's one umpire he's got a book it's called. Call Me God or something I can't think of his name at the moment, but he was like a thirty year thirty year on pyre. was like you know out praying every world series and all star game whatever and he so he has a book. He was a pretty like outspoken like I'm the best park on a guy he was in the league. So he umpired in the Minor Leagues Wis Dot Hausky, and he also umpired many of Nolan Ryan Games. And he said DOC Hausky through significantly harder than on Riley said there was no comparison between the two. That's the bullring. That's a crazy bold statement because this was Nolan. Ryan's like young days like heyday when Nolan Ryan was also throwing one, hundred, five, hundred, six. Because in my in my dad's book signs of the fastball he does like that all the calculations and the math for you. So like back when Nolan Ryan was first on the radar gun, they had a radar gun that was shot down as a Reagan from the press box and intersected with home plate. So the ball would get red as across home plate. Now, if you know about pitching velocity radar guns today, measure the ball leaves your fingertips and it slows down on average about like six percent seven percent on travel to the place of you throw ninety, the radar gun reads eighty four when it crosses the plate plus or minus..

You don't WanNa. Let those just they're just such dumb dumb lyrics. So dumb year I get the spirit of it like. Vodka kill hate their dear, Liza dear, it's. It's just you like. This is terrible songwriting just terrible songwriting. It's you've been. You've been seeing it for last five minutes. Stevenson songwriting. It's not decent songwriting. It's it's a catchy tune without the tune. There's nothing. Better Song other than a catchy tune. They could have found better words that weren't just just the worst rioting ever. Anyway. Welcome back. This is the morning brushback I'm Dan Blewett. Bobby how you doing? Good Good Morning, good morning good morning. Good morning everyone. No guests today we do have some guests in the works for next week and beyond potentially. So I, know everyone just abhors having to listen to US talk although. A Nice compliment this week about iron sharpening iron 'cause we talked about how we could disagree civilly. which is a which is honestly astonishing like I. Don't know how you carry some of your views youth, some asinine views on life but we talk through them and I- Berate you for them, and then we're it's like an even happened. It's a, it's honestly a fascinating. Thing Danny just humor your ignorance and hope you come around to the good side at some point right? Right. Right. We did have that. That was the guy that commented on that on twitter. Some his son plays for me. He's I. talked to him a lot. He's kind of a Ozzy's bias biased seals fakeness I don't know if he's biased i. think he kinda grise. Towards liking you know towards us I, don't think anybody is biased towards I. Think I think you have to try really hard. So, you can be only biased one way. Got It. You I don't i. don't see how it's how how you can dislike me I just really don't see that. L. So many ways so many ways so many ways. Sexually, pretty pretty common pretty common theme amongst the Chicago Land Area. So. Today's podcast. We're GONNA talk about some old drills and this is a a fresh in my mind topic because. And this is very rare But with my softball videos I just found to like large facebook groups. one is like fifty thousand members like forty thousand members, and when I make a new south wrong video, I'll usually just post each one in there and be like hey. New Video on throwing. Here's one line about hoped the selves because all free information. And so I made a video of this past week about side. Get I get questions and bobby. Do you guys talk about this? Do you feel and we're not gonNA talk about softball steadily armour more about baseball but. Do you feel people ask you about the risks snap in throwing like you know my son or my daughter they don't throw is really don't have the the snap in their wrist of other players like, do you get that people definitely think it's like a an an I personally feel like I know I'm not doing it but I feel like that way I was thinking about throwing like snapping through it helps me like it helps with accuracy and helps me with. Just feeling like I'm getting some more on the baseball even though obviously or talk about say it helps nothing. Like the drill itself helps nothing. Well I think as an infielder, there's a little more. So basically I think the slower you throw the more the wrist is involved like the more the risk and move. So as you're throwing a ball on the run as an infielder, there is going to be more wrist movement than if you're a pitcher were now fitter throwing like. Very hard. and I think there's something to that where you're thrown across the diamond a little bit. But They're they're just this when you when you slow down in slow motion, which is what I did this video to basically say look we need to stop talking about the snap like this is not the reason that you don't throw. Well, this is not a reason that you should be doing this as a drill like the risk of essentially doesn't really exist even if you feel like it exists even if there's like an inch or two of wrist movement, which is basically about all there is there is pretty much during a throw if you look at high speed video. It's like it's along for the ride it's like trying to teach. Your kid to walk like it's just going to happen. Like, you don't need to do it like the wrist. No pitcher ever talks about risks. Now lead the as what your snap as a pitcher now. No, you know. I don't teach pitching though. Well, there's nothing there's nothing to snap like when your arm is moving at high speed it just it's just going at that speed and it's too fast free to consciously control it. And then go train it. So it does it when you're doing it, it's like no flipping a ball to your buddy ten feet away doesn't train a movement that's completely different looking number one because you doesn't flop over like this. And a real throw. And how would flipping a ball that weighs five ounces looking at ten fee train you to throw ball. Ninety miles per hour where there is a lot of force like that's a lot of forced to control. Do you think that's that game from do we have a back on the risk flip? I think probably president trump is to blame for this. Go down the rabbit hole here. It's probably was probably Teddy Roosevelt honestly. Teddy get action. He's the man. Teddy. Would never. Remember. He would risk flip. No, there's there's. This practically started the Great Depression the risk flip. Yeah. So word also gonNA shine a little bit about just being resistant to change. That's the thing and I also WanNa. Talk about arm actions because we've we've touched on this a little bit in the past but since Lucas Jualita threw a no hitter. And he is like one of the prime examples of guys who've changed their arm action into this very weird very short arm action. That's worth discussing a little bit today. So, Bob. How do you feel like throughout your career and we'll this is going back to the wrist snap thing and again like that one drill, it's not really done in baseball. It's done in youth baseball a little bit a little like I'm GonNa Flip my risk thing. But high level teams have gotten away from that. Pretty I mean pretty consistently it's not done in college not Gonna Pro Ball. I. Think the best travel teams don't really do that drill very often. It's kind of like a still stuck in the passing but how often do you feel like coaches are?.

"Okay understanding. So let's finish your your weird's grant date. You're weird statement on twitter you'd some. I didn't even understand what you're talking about. It felt like Aram will which Which Weird statement are you talking about? The weird statement that. Something a base I read your on said. Why can't pull it up on my phone but I said, I said at what point is being a good baseball player. Like where does that rank as far as being recruited by you know Kyle as a college coach My overall point was that. We don't emphasize being good at. The game of baseball like so many of the nuances of baseball like. I it came from a discussion. I was having a coach of mine where. Are, we were talking about our seventy are seventeen new team extreme near sixteen team. WHO's probably doesn't have like a top end division one talent on the team but they they were very good baseball players. All the kids knew they were supposed to be on the field like. The like when you watch a pregame with them, it's very Chris. Like everything is everything is fluid. They just don't have like the top you know eighty ninety arm they don't have the guy that runs and six five. They don't have the guy batting price the ball four, hundred feet. So my point was like showcases and this is kind of a big thing on twitter amongst the Jeff Frye she movement as like you pay offer showcases to showcase individual tools and talent. But nobody like there is no way to showcase being a really good player. and. I had a conversation with last week I did one on one meetings with coaches or coaches my players I was in an house talking to the wrong Mike Dole Day. Damn. Just. I heard you good. Guy On youtube just pointed out Dang it's bad. Well, it's better to better sound now. Sorry continue on. Say I had a conversation with one of my seventeen pitchers. who was he was like six and one this summer with like a sub one. But he's he asked me if he should do a showcase and before I could respond to him he goes I'm not really A. Pitcher he's like they're gonNA look at me and throw. He's like eighty eighty two is like I'm not going to stand out showcases I stand out more like when you watch me in the game. And I agreed with him I said you like he's very good pitcher. But being a very good pitcher necessarily doesn't get you to the next level that maybe you should go to or the next level that you aspire to go to because it's a lot of. What? How good is your individual tool? Like there's a lot of guys we played with that have really good tools that are terrible baseball players. Just instinctually fundamentally bad baseball players. So my overall tweet was just Kinda. Throwing a question outs anyone that follower reads anything I would tweet out as like at what point is being a good baseball player by factor into when you're recruiting someone mainly at the Division One level 'cause there's plenty of good baseball players at a lower level that would take division players spot with lesser. Tools. I don't know I have a good answer for that but. I don't know. Team Gate a requisite you need a requisite amount of tools obviously like you're not going to be eighty, eighty, two pitching in the SEC like we all know that right? There's a an occasional allies, but there's still. You know. Like. There's the basement. Right. There's a floor for your tools. And I guess at what point do you factor in like the kid being a good baseball player so if you're. If you're a shortstop who runs a seven Oh, and you hit eighty five off the tee and you throw eighty five across the diamond. But you're. You know your state champion like your leadoff guy on a bus team like you are the leader of the team. But then you've got the shortstop who runs a six five throws ninety five hits hundred off the tee like that kids clearly got better tools in bigger upside as a player but he's a he's a bad baseball player like he takes testbed bats he can't make routine plays like he's never in the proper position. He's not controlling the game as shortstop like at what point do you take the guy with the lesser tools? WHO's a better baseball player? And I don't. I. Don't know if there's like a like a you know. If you're measuring tools like if the guy this far below an anyone is watching could see me I'm a little bit below. My hands like do you take the better take the better baseball players as slightly lower like at what point where I'm going down on the totem pole of players does being a good baseball player not trump just. Better tools overall. I don't know I was just thrown out there and we were just bsn Have male vaccines that help you become a better baseball player to Quick Jab was a Dan Dan tweets. "Now. The one thing I do. I. Do understand when coaches are like look we're trying to get to the run role to save pitching because it's not if it was just like a League game, then you stop running if you're in a tournament where some of these tournaments will run seven eight games to win it, I get trying to shorten the game and you and you can't argue with the coach trying to do that because you just can't carry enough pitchers to get through seven seven inning games in a three day span but you just don't have enough bodies. So if you could short in a game two, four, five innings your there, you probably do it. I don't have an issue with teams doing it every issue with teams that are like. Stealing, third like taking home when they're already up fifteen, sixteen, Seventeen Ron's on you. which happens a lot knuth games because defense is just not play very well. Yeah. And if it's if you're looking can't block the ball and keep going to the to the backstop. You feel like you should take the base because that's the way against played. But then again, you're like let's stay put after a while. You stop them usually. Stop Stop the kids at third base like it's the gets passed like, okay. We're stay here may drive map. Yeah I mean there's been situations where we've been winning. Like we've been winning by a lot where I'll tell guys like, hey. You know. Were taken were taken. were either taken a pitch or like y'all. I remember being in a game where it's like they're struggling so bad on other team like look we're not swinging like strike shoddy strike shot. We won't count the stats. Okay. We're just trying to like. You know you're going to hit the ball five hundred feet off this kid like he doesn't even look he's pitch before let's just let him strike out whatever and that to me that feels like disrespectful towards the game but you're trying to not embarrassed like the other team as well because they are kids in a college game or something I would never suggest that. System that's happened. It just sucks when the game really breaks down I don't mind the team getting embarrassed like if you don't like getting. Than I don't take that feeling home in your pocket and. Change something up or quit. Like I don't I don't think we need I. Don't I don't WanNA protect self esteem but when the game just gets out of hand and Messi like base, the base is fine. But yeah. The whole like I duNNo. Non Embarrassing thing is if he for me? Sometimes you need those. Look. Summary are was are like. That hurts. Unwritten Unwritten youth rules either. That set me off for like three Oh fake bunt. That sets that sets me off big time or. Or like the Disguising moments because I was a good point you brought up which is the. A you have to consider not just winning this game but winning the tournament. Moore's like the overarching thing. So when you're talking about yet, we're GONNA steal up nine Ron's because we wanna get to the ten ron ruler while Ron Roller whatever an MS games we can save our bitching. That's a move that makes sense given the whole scope of the tournament. It doesn't make sense given the scope of just one game. So you do have to think of it more of that way. If you only think of it as far as this one game in a tournament, you're just not playing strategy correctly. So you're right they're stealing up ten ron's in a tournament. Where potentially shortens the game saves you pitching? Unfortunately? That is okay. You just it's fine because you have to. Again, you're trying to win the tournament, not just the single game. And the time. So somewhat the time when that's because these hormones all time limits. No of this hour forty five or two hours to fifteen. When it gets close Do you forego mound visits if you're winning or do not. I mean, it's all about the timing of the visit, right like as guy out there for a while and you need to, you need to go out there to give him a breather or did you ask the unpire? How much time we have left before? We can start new winning and he says, you know five minutes I mean a lot of times umpires will be good like if it's right on the cost, but it's close game like I will run another one because like that was quick inning but obviously if the endings are taken long. And you're just out there stalling like take them out visit and you make the empire coming, get you and you said nothing and then you wait one patient and go take the guy out and replace him with a new pitcher like. They're probably are starting to be some rules by mound visits and I. Think if we're in a time limiting, maybe they should implement like look amount visit as a poem like that set no talking you're gone. Yeah See. I. Disagree with that because I still will have a mound visit if it's necessary. So we're up to like this is a situation where you're in last summer we are up to two one in like the seventh and it was definitely like this is GonNa last happening and they did just like act's innings. But we gotta run our on and it was like the time run on base, and there was like some legit strategies that I need to talk to arbiture about like how to approach this pitcher is a critical moment in the game. I'm taking them out visit and I'm GonNa Talk to my guy, I'm gonNA explain this. Is How we're going to hopefully prevent that time run from scoring. I'm not not having that visits because you know some coaches GonNa end the guy other complain about doing. So don't care. This was legit part of the game. This is three. There needs to be some there needs to be a different rule can't just be like a no new winning after an hour forty five there needs to be like, okay. Once, we start the fifth like if we're close, they say, okay, this is the lasting like. I'm not not all you can't be where you get to the bottom of the fifth there like Wolf we finish a sending in less than seven minutes. We'll play another one like 'cause then because then you're gonNA, get guys at stall and they probably should stall. That's a good strategy. Honestly, if you have to waste seven minutes, it's a, it's A. Bush league strategy, but it's still a strategy like we've been. We're talking strategy about you know like you said, he's a big moment in a game like a big moment in a game might be I don't WanNa waste my this kid the closing inning when he could start the championship game for me going to stall. So I think there needs to be some more. Not. More like baseball though that's the problem like baseball is not in the time limits though that's the whole point. Right? Is like there is no time limit normal baseball. So if you're going to implement it, then there needs to be rule. So guys can't manipulate it like stalling like passing a basketball around the court when there's no shot clock, it's like, Oh, we're GONNA waste four minutes quarter passing because other teams in are running down our throat. Like there needs to be there needs to be it's different set of rules for games that are timed I think well, I think the Umpire Disney's go out. Just follow guy out there he's actually talking to pitcher..

"Well welcome back. brushback episode fifty two. We are here live once again after three prerecord episodes which were getting quality I think Bob, how would you rate the prerecorded? Non By quality. I mean better than anything. I've ever done on the podcast plus we had good guests really good. We good get. We had really good guests. So that was a made up that made up for For whatever lack of quality we might have had we just recorded you and I have been trash can have but nobody carry the load Ryan Copeland in limbo and from Mile Mater. So. Pitching guys joined extensive pitching knowledge on on the show. We need a balanced out. We had so much hitting garbage for forever. Oldman yelling clouds. Back Glorious. Glorious hitting talk. I'm all for the pitching stuff. I've got five, I think five and two thirds innings on the mound professionally. I'm in there I'm in the I'm in the position position player. Pitching Hall of fame. That's just simply not true. So today in our in our in our episode today, we're GONNA go for unwritten rules in baseball including. Do you swing three Oh when you have a little bit of lead, I love for an entity junior stealing with the big lead. Taking the extra base which the pass ball with a big lead bunting on no-no. Rowing hitters. What's the right and wrong way to do it We'll talk a little bit outside the home run stuff and then an amateur baseball specific one. Be Time clock. So should you have mound visit when there's like sediments go in the game? He will get pretty good about that. So I will also talk a little bit about Bob Yours himself about seeing pitches. How important it is a see a lot of bitches combat stuff like that, and so we'll wildblood less are up with Fernando taty since we were away for this big news but swing through I commented a little a little bit about this on twitter wants your take on Achi swing through. Loved. It loved every second of it. First of all, it's bases loaded so. You don't. There's no reason not to swing I have not actually heard that unwritten rule like specifically as far as not swinging three. Oh. I mean I guess spent a specific scenario where the where the bases are loaded. So it's not like there's nowhere to put the guy. but no, I mean swing through like the all the at bats count. If, he strikes out after getting throw like that strike outs. So counts. Yeah I think. I think made in the major leagues almost everyone came to his defense. I'm not sure there are many people on social media or anywhere else on the social media's the the High Court here but I didn't see anyone be like, yeah. What a jerk that was so. Modern baseball will got mad at no one said that. Was the was it the manager the other team that got real pissed that I heard it was both managers. So. His manager I saw didn't stick up for him I mean, that's now if you're Tutsi if you're T.'s I mean, that's it right there. Right like you're not gonNA stick up for me after winning ball games I'm saving your job in a in a city that never wins I'm the I'm arguably the MVP front runner and you're not gonNA you're not gonNA defend me early stick up for a little bit. He's He lost the locker room right there I think like you have especially with big personalities like Totti's Machado in that locker room like they run the show their this manager. I don't even know what what the manager name, but he is not he they're not taking his personality on the field like they're taking those guys. So if you lose those two guys, you might as well pack your bags leave. While I don't think anyone even knows zooming you over the bodies or member care with the batteries. Manager is is just like John's a pencil pusher like who cares Let's appoint is not. Only Russa yeah. No you WANNA keep that job. It's like you and you're not going to back. You're you're MVP candidate when he didn't even I mean I could see if you like through somebody's head if he threw it somebody's head or if he's a pitcher throws his somebody's head hits him in the helmet you could say look we're not trying to we're not trying to hurt anybody ball what. This kid swings it a three. Oh. Pitch that you lay in there like screw it. I'm GonNa hit five hundred feet. While it was weird was it was only attended three. The game is completely out of hand like a like a two run Jack by the other team the next inmates down to five that's like A. Not A. It's not a laugher anymore and seven rounds like whatever. But also that was not center cut. It was like our third like down. Like, you could see. Nice. I mean yeah it was not easy hit for him to be new fast fastballs coming obviously but beyond that it wasn't like Again belt. High. Right. Down the middle, it was only a third. and. If it's like one to count, that might be a ground ball double play right you end to talk on it. You know honeymoon you need bullet. which the? What's the narrative? What's the narrative? If he if he pops out is everyone still pissed off at him. Ours everyone's saying always idiot I swing and three Oh no cares as dumb. Yeah. It's his risk. Well Matthew. With Rio pits. The outcome is not certain. Like. It's not like stealing third with ten run lead whether it's like we know you're not gonNA throw I'm just GONNA get third base for free. bitches like the outcomes not certain.

"I'm your host Dan Blewett I'm here remotely we've got an awesome yesterday and of for, of course, all enters my co-host i. Robert Stevens Future Mayor of Chicago is ear our bobby. I'm good. These last two guests are making me question my school background. Yes it's GonNa get even rougher today I think, and then our guest today Barton Smith. Professor from Utah State, university. Barton. How are you? I'm good. Thanks for having me. So if you're new door show, we a fun twitter threat after Al Nathan's episode, which was our previous episode. Barton were chatting a bunch read some of his work in the past about He works in aerodynamics and has a Canon where he's shooting baseball's out all day and testing spin and it's pretty fascinating stops. We were talking about the cutter and got done a pretty long rabbit hole decide. Let's talk about this on the show and I. Think one of the things that unites us is we don't really know what's going with cutters. They're fascinating `Nigma. So Barton, how did you get into baseball aerodynamics? it's funny 'cause it's comfort just this morning that Mike Kid Pitches she was about nine or ten in somebody's talking to him about two cm best balls. And I asked the question which you would think everybody knows the answer to the difference between the two seamen or team and a I've been chasing that stupid question ever. Since we fired A to seamen forcing him out fishing machine and I would encourage everybody to do this. If you have a pitching machine that's at consistent and you'll see that they do the exact same thing. There is no notation between them at all which that. Got Me started and. I've. Gone, back and forth about this many many times since then. But Just like I said, simple questions if think everybody knows the answer to that. You can really find a very deep. So let me talk about that because that kind of broke my brain right off the bat. You saying. Two seamers don't do anything different compared to a four seamers. Correct. Not If you put them in a pitching machine because I, I probably should have made this decision pitching machines are hundred percent efficient and. There's only two machines I know of in the world project on brand new machine coming out of Toronto, which I think everybody's going to hear about soon and I'll give it a shot into this guy's amazing. Sheen can put Giren ball and the Russian state has learned that can do that to. Our use it once. But the that's a very rare commodity anything wheels that you normally see an end, the cannon we have hundred efficient. So seems to the seem effects that cost to seamers to be different. I think happen when you impart a little bit gyro to the ball and when you throw a less than a perfect spinning fastball. So if you drilled a hole and spun a four seamer and you drill the same hole through two seamer, any through them, both they're gonNA go they're gonNa do the same thing. That's really interesting. So basically what we could say that is that two seamers essentially capitalizing on human error in in a good way is at a reasonable with. That is a good way to put it. But if you took that same error including four steam, it wouldn't have the same effect. Yeah. That's true. Yeah. We've. We talking about? Like if you hold it as a four seam griffin and you hold it as a Traditional to seem grip in and throw it in a vacuum. They'll neither one will do anything other than the state straight not vacuum that the the important point is that have here's my to seem all. That is perfectly efficient if I throw it so that this ride stays indicative timmy as it goes in a in a way for me read, t seem enforcing the same. Cuts gyro. Then all bets are off in a lot of things can happen. Okay. So there are so the pitches themselves are different pitches. When pitchers thrown I'm just trying to wrap my head around because I've seen some balls that I care unhittable. pitchers. And I'm trying to. You that what's happening is they do they had puts gyro on it and and and then it's doing something different. So and I think this is all about to become really apparent it's GonNa. Bust Open just telling Dan earlier. Tom. Tango put some data out on twitter this morning or last night late last night. Shows this for my us? and. So I think now that we know how to look at it's going to be really honest. And that's just starting. But the important point is that there was a caveat putting their load, the balls into a pitching machine, and they're going to be the same with that houses lacking into one hundred percent efficiency. Gyro and then the same. So let me back you up a little bit because you've already mentioned at least one word that I'm sure some percentage of my audience doesn't really know what that means which Gyro can you give us a brief overview imagine that I'm a twelve year old and bobbies in eight year old because I think that would represent our are split here. Too early for that Dan. explained the key the key components of what makes baseball's move or not move. Space to do it. So it refer. Now let's not worry about the orientation is seen, but that's not worry about that because those balls fans if if this ball is coming towards unite through it. That's a that's a fastball studying backwards. And that's going to generate force that way because what we come SPEC..

"So like you know, they wanna like exchange like hate towards each other fine I should've. I should've stopped the judy stuff earlier I didn't know he had that. Clown photo of Jeff which is just embarrassing for rich. And just like just A. It's what a small person would do. You know showing up with a clown photos of your. counterpart but Cyber Mall that like. It was just such a weird spectacle and Jeff like I like Jeff personally. I don't agree with the way he does things on twitter, but like Jeff's always been super respectful of me and you and I could. I could hang out at a bar with Jeff. Have Some Beers talk baseball and we'd be friends for sure rich as worst social skills of humid. That I know so I mean it's it's baffling, and it was just such a strange thing like the aftermath. Those like we're. We're like TV. Political pundits is like people in all directions like kind of not really coming at us that much, but come a little when they didn't like what happened. Which is a strange? It was good. It was good for me when I run for mayor Was it though to? Duck and dive those those shots on twitter bobby. Did you adequately defend me from all the people. You know. Defend me the balls Dan Blewett texts me and says he's like have my back and I did and I responded to. Yes, I did with my feet. My feet is all backing pro damn. Blow it. One Guy, the will drive yourself from being an attack dog, but he went pretty soft. Defending your co hosts. A log onto the I'll on an ass hat. I mean I don't doubt that. But you're right. It was it was just. It I mean it's part of the brand new? I think with like rich definitely has a brand of. Going after swings going after people on twitter late forcing fans. You know what whatever they're saying about. His teachings, their teachings, or whatever whatever what have you? But. It's. It was it was never gonNA be the conversation that everybody wanted were rich, talked about his mechanical thoughts, and then Jeff responded. Liat was wrong because Jeff admittedly didn't. He's like I. Don't know what rich teaches I just see the drills. We never did that that stuff and I'm not gonNA. In Jess opinions like I'm not going to push something like that. Too So followers or people will say that's real real baseball. We didn't do that in his. His lifestyle is life real baseball in professional baseball, but it was never going to be that discussion about mechanics. Jeff was never given mechanical breakdown of any of the best hitters in baseball or what they're doing this what he does. He taught like He. He talked about his own experience, hitting in professional baseball, which was mainly approach mainly like confident mindset and being a competitor. So we competition was never on the same plot like it was never on same level. They were discussing different things the whole time. Yeah, which was which was the challenge of it and people I mean. The periscope and the Youtube comments were dislike, a constant flow of people just discussing hitting and asking us to try to get certain, and we tried really hard to get a jeff. What hitting Joel's should kids do? Any just doesn't have him. Which both new this is? They weren't gonNA like. You said they weren't gonNA argue the same thing. So yeah and allow was. I mean you can criticise me. All you want I. Could I could care less on twitter. About that stuff moderate I'm not a professional moderator abstract. Interview like well. Here's the other thing that was funny about this is i? Don't really have an opinion on riches. Hitting I listened. The first time is on her show. I like Oh. That's interesting like I see I. see like. I kind of get worse. What you're saying like have any pushback on. That really just like the bonds thing. It's like I. Don't like I don't know how like you can't separate. Bonds is what he did on the field from his swing. Like that's what's hard to say, you know. It does Mike Trout have the best swing ever just because he was the best player ever. I don't think those two exactly go together, and that was kind of my point, but like far as rich rich I don't have an opinion. Like was so weird I don't care I. don't care you. Teach not at all I. Don't think it's wrong like I'm i. didn't that's not any? Like, he asked him to slow it down. and His tweet later was. He's he. Dan denied that like I dunno I asked you to slow it down because you video was going one speed, but you could make it half that speed and stop it and be like. Hey, this is the point I'm talking about. This is the point where there were. The two swings are different. That was asking to do, but he's like. No, if you don't see it, then you don't get it so, I Could slow down but okay. That's rude and weird but. I don't have an opinion. I'm not a denier of any hitting. I don't care about hitting I. Just was like here. I was like for the you know whatever I was just in the same parking lot. That's the thing, too. It's like you don't. You're you're the audience? Essentially I understand? Yeah I like I'm just as if I have some agenda like I have no agenda. You're you're the audience of the ninety five percent of Tossing at the end of the podcasts workers. Twitter's mainly parents help their kids or players are trying that figuring out for themselves and helping SAS and I know not getting guy, yeah, as a not a not a hitting guy. If something's not clear to me, it's certainly not cleared a many other people like I've been the game a long time and I understand. What a good swing looks like and I understand the stuff I. certainly don't try or can't teach one like I understand a lot about baseball, and if I don't understand something, there's definitely thirteen year olds that don't understand it, so I was trying to clarify for them. Really,.

"Thanks for being here bobby, Stevens. Avid supporter is here from Chicago. How are you sir? I'm great. Big Shot off Dan Blewett debate extraordinarily yesterday. That's why I said support or not nemesis this morning, also even awesome gas Charles Boldness. Year Charles. How are you? Good thanks for having me Dan in Bobby I. appreciate it. Appreciate you being so Charles is the new head baseball coach at the University of Wisconsin Oh clear and they're actually reviving they reviving their program werther starting it for the first time. It didn't have stopped or they yeah they they did. They had in the nineties. They started in nineteen, ninety five. So man that's gotta be a big Vilson rookie. That's of big undertakings. We have a lot of topics to talk about today. But what? What do you do when you start? From nothing but a college. Well, I kinda similar, you know Kinda it similar to what I had to do for my travel organization I started that from nothing. and I had no support. I had no financial backing ahead. No sponsors I had no facility I had nothing. So basically I had to figure out a way to market players into parents and kind of Selma Vision, and it was no different than what I deal with. You know starting this program except for. Millions of resources, obviously way more money and athletic department in you know Athletic Director who was supportive in a school. You know that's important. Also you know we talk about not the you know the athletics, but the school is super supportive. You know from the chancellor and things like that so it yeah, you start making all the all the boring paperwork for you. Yeah and exist so much work even for baseball like your travel team after to all the parents slips and all that stupid stuff that takes a lot of time. At all man it's and it's just like it yet. It's like homework you know when school when you know your professors. Teachers are just giving you busy work. It's it's the same thing that's the. That's the part that's not fun, but the fun part is is definitely coaching in now I've got my staff figured out and I can give them a lot of responsibilities and you know. Give them that autonomy, so they can do things too so I don't i. don't try to do it all on my own and I rely on them a lot. You know. Give them responsibility, so it works. That's good. How long did it take you to to figure your staff? ooh! I would say everything was fully figured out with everybody. This is June now. I would say march into March. On Your staff now. So I've got a my pitching coach Stefka Tasca. He's from Illinois. He's worked with elite He also a pitched at Saint. MARY'S IN MINNESOTA I've got CJ Kohler He actually coached at Finlandia. He's coming over. And I got AJ voyage, and he coached at Carol and he was the pitching coach. He's coming over the work with the catchers. insular steps working with the pitcher is undoing. The hitter is in the outfielder, so we have coaches at every position. And, that's something that's important that these guys are getting that individual development. Scott More Immoral Division One program at this point exactly. Yeah, absolutely! Yeah, that's what I was. I was. Throwing around in my head, obviously an individual on what three head coach in paid assistance, and then they just exploited everyone else What's what's your program? What is what is the the D three staff? Look like financially I mean. How many of these guys can you pay like? What is it like? All three of them, but the amount of money is not great You know they they love it. They're doing it for the greater good of baseball in. Their body into what you know, the bigger purposes of what we're trying to do. you know what? I mean bill the program for years to come at the dynasty be one of the best programs not only for division. Three Banana Country the way we run our. You know program. I wanted to run like a division one program. We have a strengthened performing coach. We've a team manager with an equipment manager Excuse me. We've state of the art lifting facility. If you saw that, it goes up, we have our own custom rates. It's got over thirty benches and squat rats, so we're. We're ahead of the game and a lot of areas are athletic director. Is the man So? We're these these student. Athletes have a great opportunity with us. They have access to anything if they need. That does sound big time I mean a lot. Not Certainly is to disparage, but like d three programs don't tend to have as big of athletic facilities, right and to have like a really well equipped weight room. I mean can just like. Blowing it away when they walk in further their visit for sure. Yeah. Yeah absolutely and I feel that way, too. With the guys, the way I recruit them I think a Lotta Times to like with I. Want Individual Success. I'm the players coach, but I I expect a lot of them. You know as well when I when I have them under my wing, but if players do good, they need that special attention. If one of my pictures are pitchers of the week, everybody should know about that and I'm GonNa. put it out there and tell everybody you know fifty thousand times over. So I think a lot of times. Coaches try to put this facade on like. Oh, it's not about the individual. It's you know it's about the team. Yes, it's about the team, but it's also supporting your guys who work hard in giving them that you know that attention that they need that notoriety. That's important to have your work off for you. Yeah, for sure and you got you. Guys Have Athletic Department. I'm right near. It says it reinstated ball women's Lacrosse and men's soccer in an in an age where. Programs are getting cut so. "Hello, it is Tuesday. June second I'm Dan Blewett I'm the coast of the morning. brushback bobby Stevens joining me remotely from Chicago. Five how you doing man? I'm doing good crazy crazy world. We live in right now. Yeah, you and I are both in two of the. Most heavily rioting cities it seems like. Yeah Chicago's Chicago is getting quite. Quite bad. The police are stretched very thin. Stephanie please. Let's! Let's start there. You do like to all the police scanner. You're out. You're out last night the previous night. What have you seen in what's been going on? So. I was driving around last night in the neighborhood. Just I mean. What am I gonNA do one person, but at least there's some kind of presence people you know. Take an interest in what's happening and that was happening everywhere so. We live pretty. We live pretty close to a a busy intersection. You know that intersection got hit heavily, but there were broken windows, looting, and all these businesses had. Neighborhood people standing outside Kinda camping out, but just hanging outside cars parked in front of the windows. Definitely definitely more of a neighborhood presence last night, than the previous night felt like. There weren't as many police officers in the neighborhood. rightfully, so I know the coordinate the scanner that was going crazy We had people all over the city. Peaceful protests rioting, so it was, it was nice to see people in the neighborhood. You know, take an interest in each other. It was felt. Felt safe driving around, but at the same time you can. Definitely you can definitely tell. Everybody was on high. Yeah I'm very right now. Because it just went for a run and time to wait, you close star podcast, but I got back I walked in my door five. After forty minutes, which is a little longer than normal for me, so I'm like if you're wondering why Dan's beat red is because of that. But I wanted to go survey the city a little bit I live. I guess as the Crow flies maybe a mile and a half from the White House slash. Lafayette Square maybe yeah, that's about right probably, so there's not like March. Ending where I was, but there was some protests started up here. I wasn't a part of them. But it's The city is very boarded up. I mean especially close to the White House. Very very boarded up. There's people out there now and just like. Cut in wooden. And getting prepared so anyone the wasn't an obviously. They call the high shopping or the expensive shopping sort of not district, but there's A. A main centre chunk I guess a half a mile from. From the White House on the Chinatown side that has Gucci League. If you saw on the twitter sphere the other day like the Gucci store them breath into it and all that stuff, the looters yeah so that that whole block has been brought up since two days ago, I was down there though day, so any place that's been hit or is in in the realm, is getting boarded up pretty fast, and it's just crazy sight to see. You know I, watched the twitter twitter stream from my home last night. And, I don't I don't know it's. It's strange because I think during the day, the protests are definitely peaceful, which is good? and then as soon as nightfall hits, the police definitely seem to be the aggressors last night. Just before trump got his His wonderful little phone from the Church would seem which seems like that's what pretty much started off. I guess the cops had shove everyone back in or pretty aggressive about it. So he could walk out of the White House and get his photo opportunity. I don't know. How do you feel about that story? Yeah I saw the G- ask, are they? The rubber bullets the I mean. Let's backtrack great so. The the incident. Minneapolis I think we're all on the same page. have. In a political thing about I mean no, no, no I just on I was like we should. We should address it right, so you know what happened in Minneapolis should never happen. I think we're all in agreement on that I think it's. Justice, to be served, would be the police officer with his neon The man's neck and the three police officers were observing like nobody took initiative hearing. This guy scream. If you've seen the video, it's terrible video. I think we're all in agreement on that I have I have yet to see somebody. Come out on the opposite side. Defend the police officer, which rightfully so like. This guy doesn't need to be defended all. Now fast forward to currently what's happening? For. I thought what trump said. Yesterday was I thought he had a good speech I. mean the photo op. What happened with the people? Obviously the optics are not good right like if it's if it was specifically further photo, op I I think he waited way too long. The State to reference the rioting so two days ago when everything kind of started to happen ten eleven o'clock at night Chicago time. He's not the White House went lack when dark. If you saw that picture. That was not in my opinion. That's not the right that's not what should have happened like he needed to have. An emergent I duNno merge whatever. They do mercy, press conference from inside the white. House somewhere late at night. Calling for. Peaceful Protests Whatever I don't agree with. I liked what he had to say yesterday. I thought he had to say yesterday. Projected as a strong unified. Message like before peaceful protests, but this rioting has a has to stop. But I don't know if it's necessarily my place or anybody else's place to tell someone of African American how to feel about it or how to go about I feel. Peaceful protests has been happening..

"Dan Blewett I'm here remotely by way of Chicago by Mike Owes Bobby Stevens Robert. How you doing Dan? I'm doing fantastic. Correo I'm phenomenal. Phenomenal and our guests as my former business partner current Strength Coach and just multi faceted Human Lucas. Cook our user. What does he do while you don't know Lucas Cook? We were the duo. I'm wearing our old Warburg shirt on. Yup. Lugosi'S STRENGTH COACH. Central Illinois also. Phenomenal hitting coach. Also Phenomenal Self. Taught graphic designer. Which he I mean. He designed this shirt. He designs my book covers. You've done logos for the morning logo. Yep that's an obvious one that I forgot So we always looked good thanks to Lucas. Lucas basically clothes me in graphic design. So that's right Which is an underrated part of business? Your Business has really bad low and branding just like be ready to go under. I mean do you feel about that. Lucas how branding and logos it's insane and it's like the I really think it's the only thing that matters. I was talking to my brother about this the other day because he like years ago. You had aspirations of opening a brewery and that was Kinda Wind. That's what every single person in the world wanted to do and now with corona virus. All these birds are going under. So He's like Oh man Mike now might be a good time to pounce on some cheap equipment and stuff we talking about it and I was just kind of picking his brain on like why I drink budweiser so my beer tastes are pretty you do. Yeah you do and so I was like what makes one company more successful than other was like entirely marketing. One hundred percent. Or like yeah. I get the stupid instagram ads. All the time all those products really cheap Chinese products and they all just marketed. Really well with cool graphic design well no matter slogan than King of Beers like I don't want the drunk beer the junkiest beer like like. Oh this is this the sultan of Beers. No I get a lot of friends from Wisconsin. Nail Drink Miller and their argument is always like we have the champagne of beers and I was like stupid as hell. I drink champagne champions Ghana. Yeah that's Brunch fearing pretty it's dainty it's not every day senator everyday's like get home from work to try and stave drill beer. Lugosi's I just put in eleven hours of the coal mine and I need to take the edge off the castle. I spent my day keeping America. Running give me a beer. Yeah you don't ask for Corona. We'll specially not today now now So for those of you listening We're live on twitter slash periscope. They're basically the same thing also YouTube. So hello if you're joining their free. Use a live chat. We're going to have a pretty interesting conversations today. We're going to have a little bit about a couple of topics number one. Should you run with a mask on outside? I'm this is a very. This is dear to my heart because I get angry when I see people doing number two major league. Baseball's reopening plans will have a good discussion about that as opposed to bad luck. Bad discussion tournament companies. I think this is a great time for everyone America to let baseball tournament companies. Go bankrupt and brand get just Falashas of this stupid system that we've been just stuck with for so long. I'll let spend five thousand dollars a family. Every weekend to go play four games maybe get rained out and generally have a subpar experience. Yeah we're all college baseball. 'cause college strength coach little bit about the the differences. Because if you haven't been to college baseball game recently even junior college and Lucas is the strength coach for very strong Junior college program. Those kids are big and strong like they are very formidable. Humans and this has been a change over many years. I mean back in the day maybe like the Division One programs where they are really well equipped football weight room would be like physically bigger and but today it's pretty uniform. Let's start there Louis. Would you agree with that? What's what's the state of College Baseball Lifting? And and what kind of physicality do you need to play at that level? I like and I think we are in a little bit of a unique scenario where I were on the coach but I mean if you were to. They're all just wearing unbranded t shirts and you walked into our weight room. They look like a d one calibration for sure And and yeah. It's just like it's it's seems like every passing year. There's just like a like sixty times. Keep COMING DOWN. Keep going up and it's just like you said the size of emery. You might remark that you went to watch them play like a couple of years ago when we were both. I was playing and I mean I do think like as much as I'm going to crap on social media in the coming however long our There has been a a pressure I think on the strength industry to like just be better than it has been over the last two decades or whatever as well as the increasing level of competition amongst. I mean this is all stuff is related like the tournament. Model the showcase model and like the rise of the showcase player who has really really Obvious tools maybe can't baseball but don't consider you as just how big and strong and fast can you be and then does that market to somebody Oh sorry thunders. And we're talking but yeah I would say that it's it's and it's like the at where I am. It's just like when you were happy. That's the only thing that you do like they don't they. Don't stay that much their school life. What a waste yet. If you look at the their their calendar their schedule of the day it's sleep eat lift and good practice. That's all they do like schedule. Yeah I mean. That's what bobby like. When a second ago I was thinking about it. It's like. It is very much like how athletes are pros basically especially at junior college. Because you can really feel like I work at Triton. Junior college appear a little bit in a lot of those guys have half online classes. So at that point. It's like you're on your own time for the online classes. You have to show up in person one or two classes a week and a really. I mean you've got plenty of time. Yeah an even bigger D. ones they'll set requirements for your study. Our you might have to get ten or fifteen hours a week of studying it whereas where we are it's five there's a lot more laxity in terms of. Who's dictating their schedule. Outside of practice in lifting and some of the guys. I work with despite sometimes. My best intentions will come in lifted or two times a day. So railing Nice Nice to have some dedicated athletes running through the program. Yeah I mean. That's that's what I always tell him as like yell at him for doing bicep curls for forty minutes after we got live. Get on lifting. And I'm like listen. I'd rather have do polling on the leash to get them out of the gym rather than the other way around. Yeah we'll so we're we're GONNA come back to because I want to talk about specifics on lifting a little bit today because at the at home stuff has kind of drawn my I R- personally like on instagram. All like years eleven new variations of stuff. That doesn't do anything like so. I want to talk about it and get your opinion on what people should be doing at home where they shouldn't be doing but let's transition into Major League baseball reopening plan so Robert. What's the latest on this development? So it looks like we're GONNA have base. Bob Is right and the whole country feels like it's easing off the restrictions. It just feels even though there's not a whole lot different in this week in DC while there's one thing we can be in parks like I asked a cop. I was in a park this weekend. Where previously like shoot along like? Hey you can't sit here the like three right go so I asked the guy I'm like. Hey the homeless person while these also does have a Unfortunately large homeless population but So they're letting people stay in parks. You can sit there with a blanket and do whatever But it seems baseball so what what is Major League Baseball. What are they proposing at the moment? And what do you think about it so it sounds like July fourth is going to be the opening Eighty something games very American. Very American Very American would perish patriotic You know a an expanded playoff format. It's it seems very fluid right now but I think the I think the goal is to get everybody into spring training. Working Ready to go The big pickup. When you're talking off air. I don't know the specifics in Lucas didn't know either. But the is the revenue share program in and the owners. Proposing to MO MLB. You know an an alternative revenue share because they won't have fans concessions a lot of their revenue streams this year And that I just read the big push back from the MLB. Pa would be like this is kind of the Segue for owners to institute a salary cap of some sort so that seems to be that and I've seen a few of the of the big leaguers the reliever for the nationals. Do Little came out and Phil Hughes. I saw it was pretty active on twitter. they're big gripe seems to be. I don't know if it's a gripe just more of the you know. The players aren't going to accept to go back unless there's some safety precautions taken for them specifically and their families So I don't really know if it's if this proposal is GonNa get through as is or if there's GonNa be some big pushback but I I think it's I think it's a start in. I think everybody's gotTa make concessions as much as I'm pro player from the financial side. You know get as much as you can need. The owners really don't necessarily care about you. You're just an asset to them you know. I am all further guaranteed contracts but this year specifically. I think it's God there's gotTa be some compromise not need to have sympathy for a billionaire but yeah so let me read all the key facts right here So the plan looks like the. The designated hitter would become a part of nationally. Play just interesting also. I think we'll let's talk about that like you said Fourth July weekend. Eighty two game season The All Star game will be called off. Obviously LAKOTA given all star game at forty one good games regulations Postseason play like you said from ten to fourteen teams. Rosser sizes will be thirty twenty six which they up to the twenty six last year we have season under twenty six yet or we haven't tackled that yet. This'll be the first season with twenty six going to be the first so that I've actually got five of the roster as from Washer which is a big win for it is because we only Chris Davis pitching even though he's dirty apparently was well halley him bids against like the red SOx or something. When the oil's walking eighteen in any game you throw a dirty changeups an eighty nine miles per hour And then the big thing is Right now they're proposing that and we'll be players will split so players would receive a percentage of their twenty twenty salaries based on a fifty fifty split of revenues and mobile receives so Lucas. What are your thoughts about all this well? I think it's worth explaining like bobby mentioned. This is technical the MLB currently doesn't have a salary cap whereas like the other major sports like the NFL salary. Caps basically the teams. Herb is getting allowance to play. Hey players have that so yeah. I think that's like one of the things that the VA scared about. Understand is so one of the things I read was. They're like they're like. Oh well obviously you're GONNA have to do testing on everyone. So everyone's going to be tested leading like media insecurity staffing and all that kind of thing and then the guy who they quoted was like. Yay obviously that testing is GONNA have to be daily. I just didn't understand the logistics of testing the entirety usually baseball every day. Yep You all my God those videos or terrifying. How far that thing has to go and the other thing that is like. I'm curious what's going to.

"It's the weight room whether it's pre hab stuff You know the band program beforehand and Corey could probably speak a lot more to it but I know they spend a lot of time on those specific things to make sure that they're staying healthy But I think again it goes back to what I said about the player individually. You have to learn kind of what they do in in how their body works before you can just put one. Blanket pre had type A routine together one one ban routine together. I think it's different for everybody. I'm sure it becoming a challenge Trying to individualize ever because I think that's becoming. The norm heard that from so many different people that even pro balls becoming more than norm that we're GonNa let you be more of yourself and try to figure out what's best for you rather than just everyone organization now. Obviously there's you know a lot of give and take I think in pro ball just speak on at like when I played in even now I see the way program. They're they're just so scared to hurt somebody. The the weight off season weight programs in the things that are happening. They're they're just so scared of hurts. There's there's not the advancement in that at that level. There should be you know you read about Trevor Bauer. Because he's a psycho and what he does drive line and other places but you know otherwise. You're getting away program and you're looking at it like what I was doing this in like ninth grade. You know what I'm doing and it's all because of you know. I know there's a lot of money involved in baseball. Trust me. But they're going back to their colleges or wherever and they're absolutely getting after you know so even at the pro level it's just it's just not where it needs to be as far as you know marrying those together so we'll see what happens. Yeah that's a good point. No-one no-one taught about when you when you go away for the you know you have your exit. Meeting ended the season with strength guy. And he gives you the packet and you look at it and it says three days a week for twenty minutes working out or You know and a lot of it too in my opinion. Is that a lot of these guys. You know that aren't from the. Us have never been introduced to the weight room like they have no idea what it is and to give those guys a full-on you know a full on weight program. Six five six days a week. That may be a A four year college guy would have had. That's you know even to me. It sounds absurd. These guys have no idea. What some of these exercises are. Even if they're paying attention you know even if they're diligent during the season I mean there's a language barrier. There's there's an equipment issue you know. Some of these guys come from very poor parts of the world. They're not working with You know that's it's kind of like what you were experiencing now in the US. You know. You're on lockdown. You're trying to figure out how to work out in your basement with limited resources. That's pretty much the life for some of these guys so I don't think on those those programs I can remember getting them and just toss them. It's like this is. This is my warm up in pro for for my normal offseason and I can't speak to every organization. They're trying to do good things and I'm sure there's some really good people out there you know there's a lot a lot of stuff going on but you're exactly right like you know were we. We give a program right now during the grown of ours to every single one of our kids. It's different base off the equipment. They have in their basement or what they have access to so I would be any different with a guy that could earn three hundred million dollars in a contract at the next level. You know what I mean. So and maybe they're doing that now. You know so. I don't want to speak to early on it but you know that's the type of detail what I still think is great about college baseball. Is that very detailed intricate development on many different levels to to almost like eight major league baseball by the time they get drafted because you're so far advanced emotionally physically yet and you know I keep in touch with some of these strength guys we had and these guys are great guys they know Allott and they they understand that it's like this isn't what she's going to get you to the next level this is just to give you a somewhat of a base to keep you active not to get hurt not to get her and then you touched on something a little bit you. Know College. Baseball's a Segue to professional baseball. Like you're given these guys up So that's sparks question for me. How much do you guys like to have? Four guys seniors in high school as opposed to maybe two year guys at Junior College Priest junior college lots of Mike is as good development You know somewhere you can go play right away you know. Where do you guys follow? You Recruiting Junior College. Heavy area. Recruited for need you know. Do you know how. How active are you on the junior college recruiting? Well I think when it comes when I'm recruiting high school guys right. We try to invest in our guys in develop them and what I mean by that is a kid comes in and he struggles his freshman year are not just GonNa immediately go to do Co. to try to sell that you know what I mean. So we've never really been huge on. The JUKU will fill a need a based off the draft or something. That's lost. I think it's a good tool like that. And and I don't have anything against people that are Juku heavy but Maryland's top fifteen public school in the country and it's it's a very very high academic school now. So you know we try to think gives us an edge when we recruit right when we only have three players in class? You know it's like hey man we're investing in you. We're going to develop you and it's up to you to Kinda take the bull by the Horn so you have to use. Juca with the drafts But we we use it more to sell needs than than just like a abandoned for everything else. I think it's a great option for several players depending on your situation and especially right. Now there's going to have to be some guys that with the roster limits next couple of years in Division One baseball that net really are just gonNa have to kind of bet on themselves And just Kinda grind through it so. I think it's a great option. I you know just for us we. We try to invest in the guys in keep that Culture Camaraderie for guys at her through the program as many years as we can have. Gotcha so if you're just tuning in we're here with Matt swope of the University of Maryland If you're on twitter or youtube you can were monitoring the live chats question. Definitely launched in and. We'll we'll ask Matt here so I do one or you matt. It's about foreign recruiting. So it seems like Nelson is a a pretty smart guy he is. He's as if kids similar level of capabilities. One has a much higher. Sat score from overseas Any preference between the domestic and foreign kid. Obviously I'm sure it's a lot harder to recruit overseas all. Add to this question. Are you guys doing any foreign recruiting and what are the challenges in recruiting a player from outside the US? While I mean first of all it's it always comes down to finances right so even domestically you have in state tuition out of state tuition. Okay so That's a big part of it if it guys foreign depending away from like. I'm recruiting a candidate right now. What's the government subsidy for? That is a program that he can get financial aid for a in the United States. So it's it's a very difficult intricate system because it state by state and it's also by country so yes we. We've recruited foreign players on. It's not as likely especially in the warm countries because they just get drafted but we a kid from Vancouver a couple years ago. That was all big ten hours on the phone with Canadian kid yesterday. Actually a two thousand twenty two so we do it. It's just not not as likely just because you know if you think about in terms of the United States where my footprints pretty much from Maryland up to New York to Connecticut. And we'll get some Boston guys and stuff like that right. You know. That's my footprint. I don't even really recruit in Virginia because we don't have border tuition. There's ten division one schools in Kenya. Gotcha that makes sense. It's five one if by Maryland State so I think it's a case by case basis. But yes what will recruit? We're always trying to find the best player so whatever it takes is it is a tough 'cause I've one example like there's a kid Awesome like awesome human being like the kind of kid you'd want on your program no matter what program you are. He's from the Dominican Republic. And he was going to an American High School and it was tough because that was the second language Trying to pass his classes in a good American Private school so I mean you can imagine. Har that if I tried to pass a good high school in Spanish whether you're a really intelligent or average intelligence can be super hard so he. He passed his class. But it was difficult And he's a he's an American Juku right now But one of the challenges that he talked about and he's an amazing story. He's going to be successful. I hope he's listening is probably not but great. Great human being but he comes from the Dominican Republic where he knew he wasn't GonNa get signed at sixteen as a position player right. He just missed that window so that points. Either I'm done with baseball essentially Which is which is sad down there because so many of those kids at fifteen sixteen seventeen so good could easily play division one baseball keep their career going but they don't have that access because a lot of them the academics. Aren't there like a lot of this gets aren't going to school on a regular basis. They wouldn't be able to hack it in America but he's smart enough so anyway he came over Passed his high school got his diploma. Is Junior College But if you guys at an obviously you explain your footprints a lot smaller but have you heard much about division. One baseball recruiting from any of these Latin countries or is that a is is a kind of off limits because of the academic side of it. Yeah I think that that's that's just kind of common sense. Manson what you hit the nail on the head like if I went to Spanish speaking country or something like that. I would struggle. Enslave doesn't matter how smart yeah. I think you know what the Major League Baseball does do. A good job with that. They had these academies and other countries where they're not only trying to give them a place to play baseball but educate them as well. It may not be specifically an English. But I think that's helping development now if the college model went to that where we had that type of maybe segue into that it would help but I think which are always gonna find with the language barrier is. When something's hard it adds stress and college kids are so stressed as it. Is You know you add that pressure on you know from a foreign kid that may not be as first language I it just GONNA probably cause a lot more problems so you know. I think the model right now that they have their major league baseball has proven to develop really good players. And you know. I know that they're doing a better job. Educating them you know with classes and stuff like that integrate them into our society when they get here but it's just such a much more difficult thing for college because colleges don't care about baseball. I mean they're they're institutions of higher learning. That's what they are. So you know the the you know. These are people that have worked their entire lives to try to get into Maryland. That sometimes don't so I think you gotTa keep that in mind when we're talking about like The nuances inspe-.

"PODCASTS I'm your co host named Blewett. I'm joined here by my compatriot Bobby Stevens Robert Howse Chicago. How you doing man gotTa Haircut yesterday. So don't tell anybody that's a legal. You'RE GONNA be strong up in the town of quarter the town square. We still have town quarter thing or no. You'll be drawn and quartered. That's what I was thinking of having haircut. So if you're just tuning tuning in today Our Guest Jeff. Frye were would just waiting a call in. So we're going to get started here and Bobby we need to talk about. The current situation is baseball going to come back so they've been talking about this zone stuff. Obviously everyone's super bored at home. We'd love to see sportsman. Playing Sports Games and sports women playing sports games Do you think this Arizona things happen. No Shah alligators any shot. That that this Arizona thing happens I can't see just creating a bubble for baseball players. I think it's I think the further we get into this the more. They're they're just look at the realistic possibility plane without fans Would you tweet out? Taiwanese baseball game the other day. Yeah and I just didn't care about that like even the slightest amount I'm like that's like me watching raisin bran like just like looking at a drbble reason if you have fruit in that raising brands might be worth now. Damn I can't hear you Dan. You're just I'll just talk to myself at this point but I don't think there's any way that we play baseball in a confined space in spring training. I don't think it makes sense. Man Nearing Yeah. I'm GonNa keep going my thought though. I don't think it makes any sense for these for us to do it. That way Us and I have no interest in financial interests in it but I think empty it makes more sense than just playing empty stadiums in the boost. A little bit of the local economy. Especially if you're talking like a like Chicago's Wrigley Wrigley Field around me. Feel that'll be packed. Even if those people can't go to the Games so I just play them in their normal cities and and let the guys have that most of these guys have homes there. It's not GonNa be as big just nightmare. Why agree and I also just? Don't I read an article by Doug Glanville last night which I thought was it was a really well written article? You just talk about the importance of fans and how they impacted his his life and There to pick him up when he had a tough time when his father was Was Sick in hospital and dying actually and I just can't imagine the lackluster. Just how much the game would change from an emotional standpoint as a ball player like you're out there at the highest level every pitch counts every bad accounts and there's not a single person a stands like you you drive onto the gap you played to like you put your team up a run in a and there's like nothing just dead cemetery silence. It'd be fun right. How does that work? It's crazy? Hit a big hit a big home run and get absolutely nothing around thing like literally like you're back playing not even t-ball 'cause a lot of parents come out it'd be like some other obscure like middle range bad high school baseball in the middle of like you travel to some other bumbled highschool and there's just like no one there yet. We've all played in front of no crowds so that I don't think there's any it'd be new for anybody in the big leagues to play in front of nobody it might Might kill some of that Adrenaline Rush. But if the checks cashing. I don't think anybody's GonNa care all that much. It's GONNA be tough. I think that'd be hard just mentally and physically employers. I feel it'd be hard to get your get yourself going in the same way. Yeah maybe but I think some of these guys especially the the guys that are younger that have don't have ten years in the big leagues and don't have the that many opening days in that many They don't have money sitting in the bank. Like some of these other guys in a set career those guys. I think they'll be playing just as hard. I think it'll be just as exciting For most the players if there if it's not that I'm I'm available to to fill in at any at any point to play these games. You can be at scab. That's fine. Nobody I'm not who's GonNa who's GonNa call me out on it. If I end up getting a few SCAB games over comiskey on the south side it's the will announce. Let's just go with that from here on out. This is the morning brushback with Dan. Lewis and bobby the SCAB that I think. I think it sums you up your some alert drinking subsitute major league playing. You're just like a pirate. You're like a modern day. Pirate I should I mean I I can. I can handle the heat. Apps. Camp Yobs can't be Maher. Let's just be honest. How many WHO's the? Who's the most famous guy from ninety? Four that crossed For the in the MLB when they had. What did you just say? Oh who's the most famous guy? They cross the picket line in ninety four. Would anyone know that answer in the world when he knows that answer? I know an answer to that question. I know that question. I'm trying desperately not connect my air pods because I forgot to do that. And it's just like not working speaking of which I got an air body today. Bobby I got a new left one because my left one was speaker is blonde and I got one that literally the next the next afternoon they ship it out so good job apple apple for the win here at Corona virus locked down a just just pumped the radiation right into the side of your brand. That's what I'm going for. Have you heard of these bone conductive headphones? Have you heard of these before now but it sounds dangerous. So bone conductive headphones. They posted this little thing. Right on the front of your your lobes or just the front of your ear and actually like plays in the world not in your ear so nothing goes in your ear but it sits right in front and then this thing goes wraps behind your ear and vibrates against your mic bones. That are in your ears back there. Obviously you're you're you'll We hear sounds and whatnot by like the what is it the molly as the INCAS and the state does with rebounds. I think you're middle secure. Your way are way past. I yeah But anyway so these bone conductive things because there's a new hearing aid technology that my dad didn't WANNA get they put like a screw into your brain a little wire than taps directly incident. I do not know much for this. Technology taps kind directly endure that like bone conductive system. Apparently it's a real thing But anyway so these bone conducted headphones are are for like. I don't know I think they're more for like running. But you can basically you have more situational awareness because it's not in your ear plugging your ear hole out there and just being your own little personal speaker. It's essentially we've progressed from having the boombox you're running around data with your ghetto. Blaster right Is Essentially that? "Bobby Stevens. Dan Blewett four hundred dollars a week. Go get a job like you're you're tight. You you have expired. Professional Baseball saw. Woody got on that. Yeah I mean that's I think that's you and you this now on the head last week or in previous episodes were doing so many per week. It's hard to keep track of like this summer. Six Man But you know when you when you put more money in the equation. It's just going to force everyone to be better like you said if you compare this to hockey like they're minor leagues are Japan's Minor Leagues where you can make a one hundred ten. K. If you're paying all these guys how much money they better be good. And if you're not good see you later? You're not getting the opportunities in the long term and you played in affiliated Minor League Ball so you know that even guys who are like a thousand bucks though still get maybe a year. Maybe a couple of years like you have you have more opportunities than people realize but if you're suddenly getting a good amount of money and it's much more cutthroat they're just gonNa they're just going to really look into who we want. Who Don't and there's a lot of filler of unfortunately in it's a tough term because they're so people but there's a lot of guys who were filler right. Well I'm looking at. I'm looking at one of the comments. You know I assume he's a minor leager. Blue checkmark guy says how is that fair to the guys That you're paying guys at all levels the same amount y'all you you can't have it both ways dude. You can't want money and then they offer you money and then all of a sudden it's not enough money because you played higher than than this guy like. That's just I'm sorry like everybody's making concessions either. Take the free money. They're giving you because they don't have to give you money like as much as people think like they deserve this money. You don't deserve shit. You're not you're not working. You're not doing anything else. Spring training is different story. Like guys don't get paid in spring training arable and that's terrible great That's that's a different discussion. You know they're going to start paying you now today. Four hundred bucks a week like your your minor league season. You're not playing. You're not generating any money like you. WanNa talk about fair like the only people taking a hit whether you get it there. One percenters right. They make the most money in the world. They're billionaires but they don't give Why why is it different? Why the rules different you know? Don't don't come at all of a sudden your AAA guys. You should get six hundred bucks a week but they ball guys you get four hundred like that's bullshit you're getting you're getting free money so either. GonNa take the money that you didn't expect to get you that you really don't deserve to get or you're just get ordered complain about it like they're doing. I think four hundred bucks a week is a good thing for a Lotta guys playing minor league baseball. Like I'll take four hundred bucks a week right now. Like why who's not GonNa take four hundred bucks week. It's like these guys are GonNa sit home and not get a job if they feel like they need a job to make more money. This is just trying to supplement some income that they would have coming in. It's a I think it's a good thing that they did it. I think there's GonNa be a unrealized consequences for some of these guys may or may not get released. That's going to be like a cold hard reality that they're going to get a phone call saying hey you're not you don't have a spot anymore. Now that's bullshit right you're gonNA fire somebody in the midst of everything going on but people are getting laid off left and right you know. There's a from a lot of jobs. It's not everybody can work from home. Baseball players included. Yeah you'RE GONNA be you're in that boat I think people that are applying right now. I think he'd be grateful for that money. You know. See it as a win and it's a it's a long term process special minor league baseball. We talked about it before. Like this is not a not a quick fix. The minor leagues have been taken advantage of. You know in a lot of people's eyes for since the dawn of Baseball. Yeah absolutely and it's a with the voice of dissent so again like with all these comments only a small percentage of people comment right and so only small percentage of people are voicing their distaste with. Oh I should have gotten more money because I'm higher up the ladder all that stuff. I'm sure the vast majority of people appreciate the way you said like. Hey we we understand that. This probably wouldn't happen two years ago. You know we probably don't WanNA got paid like they didn't really care at all but you know baseball rights have come up a lot you know. And and part of that's the reason the part of the reason a lot of people been lobbying for them hard right so one of them is a sportswriter. Name's Emily Walden. She's put out a lot of piece of content for the Athletic. She does a great job. He's really advocated for Marley rights. And a bunch of others obviously the lawyers and the Bass player's filing the lawsuit on behalf of everyone else. There're voice that's helped make this happen. Of course at the same time like I did a youtube video illness Maybe a year ago year and a half now which was like look. I don't feel wronged and this is my opinion. I didn't feel wronged by getting paid. Almost nothing like my first paycheck was to fifty five ten. Those two weeks pay my first year in independent ball on six hundred dollars per month salary and there was never a point where I really felt wrong and really cared looking back. Of course objectively like that's not a livable wage like A. We all knew that but at the same time with anything you can sort of. Take one point in my video. Which if you WANNA check it out so my youtube channel. It's about peanut butter and Jelly. Which is sort of like the the via the symbol. The symbol of Miley baseball. Yeah because that's all you can afford to eat so you're just making peanut butter and Jelly. So my point was that I took it sort of entrepreneurs approach in minor league baseball which again. That's not the way these owners should approach it when they throw away so much money on free agents and they have guaranteed contracts. And I mean there's so much money in baseball and so little money would take to fix the problem but for me. I was like look. It's just like building a business. When you start your own business you need to be prepared to not take a salary for a number of years right. And you've I'm sure you've gone through very lean times your academy my partner and I when we moved to our new facility. We didn't pay ourselves for six months and we drained our bank accounts. And that's a very common thing for every entrepreneur. But you do that. Because there's a bigger payoff at the end. You know you can get to the point where your employees run your business and you collect money every month. Lots of it without really having to do that much because it just kind of monitor operations or whatever you can sell the business and be a multimillionaire and so that early work where you're just scraping by and not taking much in salary. Is Building this thing and you can and you can make very strong argument as a minor league ballplayer that you're doing that same thing because if you put in the work and you really grind through it you spend one day in the big leagues and your salary if you go back to the minors jumps to what a minimum of like eighty thousand a year. Like suddenly you're making a minimum of like eleven grandma. I think it's like sixty percent of what you were making up in the big league. Something percentage scale. Yeah and you never go back down so if you get that one minute in the big leagues. Suddenly you're a well-paid Mar Leaguer for the rest of your life and obviously if you make it to the big leagues. You're making half a million dollars a year minimum salary. So you're suddenly making you know three or four grand a day and the you the potential for.

"So imagine being professional baseball player going out to spring training in your shirt. Shorts were just in like stock black. No no bird no on it enough no orange nothing weird bigly resumption. My first year quite interesting. Yeah my rookie year ball. We got just plain green shorts and they want him back at the end of the season. Unlike you won't my twelve dollar Unbranded shorts to give some other dude next year. I sweat Games like your series are now. What's that was the management of that team bills? Those era normal my old cornpone my home down. Yeah well now as part of the reason when you nickel and dime everyone it's just like put the bad taste. Yeah puts a bad taste in their mouth. They give me some feedback by the way. Whatever you just did. periscope periscope. Hello everyone we are live This is episode three of the morning. Brushback I'm Dan Blewett here with Bobby Stevens Bobby. It's up man. It's going on So I want to discuss this concept with you. That deserted. Think it's Kinda funny. Have you heard of the term airport rolls a? Us have neither never. I haven't either but it makes sense of barely. There's no rules in the airport which I definitely understand but if you need pizza nine. Am Your Needs Spaghetti at four? In the morning you'll have a you know a drink at ten o'clock in the morning or five at ten o'clock in the morning your airport you can do it. I guess So there's always acne airport. No there's not Saron world time reverted to with grow virus like I think that's an apt It's analogy good job. Chelsea but is there an virus rules right now? I don't know what I have zero day. The only reason tire league baseball rules as Minor League baseball rules. You don't know day of his. He added you know that he knows a little bit about what day it is in minor leagues. Because you know when you're traveling I have. I'm leaving the House I'm just here. I'm just I'm I'm a prisoner at this point. That's true you. Will you delay prisoner It's a plain white background. The bars the doors locked. Yeah I get through on my back. Speaking of which the audience sweet red glow red. That will do that. People Your way you stuff is fancy this is this is this is a year and a half to making all this Youtube like if you look at the quality of my first youtube videos just trash if you look at any creative on youtube first videos trash and they just ramp up over time they get better and they get better. It gets easier and easier but like I was trying to explain to my Brother-in-law because we did a family. Zoom Call Day. Just because you know. We can't be together and He acts like about my Webcam. Set up like obviously. I'm way sharper like I'm broadcasting from an actual Sony Four K camera right now Connected to a two hundred dollar Mike and has all these cable like extremes. Y computer like whatever. It's a big setup which is because I already have that Cameron already have that Mike. Whatever is asking about the setup and it's like there are so many tears of how you could do things so if you're out there and you're using zoom today and you WanNa make your video quality better like Bob. You just bought a better webcam right. It did in so many tries to find everybody in the world has bought a Webcam every best buy in Chicago every office depot. There's not one Webcam in Chicago. I got this one at a guitar center which I didn't realize that. They needed to sell webcams but they do the height of the foot. The foot traffic run in and out of Guitar Center is Insane Insane. Roller there was a line. There is a line. Sorta got ten in the morning. People need backyard. Banjo players more than ever people need guide the Party. Who's GonNa whip out his guitar and singing songs? No one wants to hear then even more than ever. If there was ever a group of people that had grown virus they were congregating at in the Audio Section at Guitar Center Surfer Dude with some you know Jack Johnson Remax remixes he is in demand. This is his time this his time and now a couple of guys at refuse. Wash your hands yeah but I mean there's it's it's complicated. Settle this stuff up but I mean to your point my the quality. My videos ramped up over time. The quality might editing. Like I edit all the time now getting better at it I mean like everything in life it just takes time you choir skills and it the process so I my first zoom was what last week and I feel great. Yeah it's Tastic look I think we're getting there. Nick we're getting men While and the other thing is like audio quality for podcasts. Like two years ago. Doing my own podcast with Lucas. Cook and I myself guests just like the call ins weren't as good like the call. Video quality from Zoom audio is very good. Which is exciting to me. Because I hate when you have a podcast where someone's in. The students like phenomenal sound right. The host has beautiful audio then. They call their guests and it sounds like they're shouting across a gymnasium speakerphone. I'm always on speakerphone all the way to do it. Well let's classic you so we have more Tommy. John News to talk about the war. Gone Down Tommy John's on miss. This has become the time John Lodge Awhile. It's probably going to end but as head. Does he have a history of of being hot with the ground was the one? I thought that had the history mixing them those two. I don't follow the mets at much. are was Guard does anyone follow the mets? I Dunno I got one friend that follows the mets and he's not happy about it I don't know I don't know if I think this is the first time John but I I can't say I should do more research not. I don't think he's had Tommy John. I didn't know it was. He hurt recently. In the last couple years was at the ground One of them has been hurt. One of them's been hurt a few times in my yard. I think I'm just a bad. Mlb reporter at this moment. Let me pull 'em trade rumors which is my only source of contact with the baseball world. Jeff Passan well. He tweeted on. Mlb He. He tweeted out the story. Yeah I'M GONNA START BREAKING MLB News. That's totally falls. Just we'll just copy and paste someone else's breaking news interest rate on your says breaking all guarantee news breaking news and then that's how you do it. They can't say it's not breaking immediately. You explain it away So we have some guests lined up for the show We've gotten some some friends reaching out to us or got to be sponsored by zoom after your little there well. I am welcome to help people and Long Story I. I actually have a Webcam where here I'm GonNa Mail it to my brother-in-law and Up his his game because it really everyone. Just I don't hear the owner Stanley. We have iphones that are is so technologically advanced right but the webcams they build. Even into three thousand dollar brand. New Laptops are still seven hundred. Twenty twelve eighty. There's still seven twenty. P. Why is the world's Webcam supply coming from like Nineteen Eighty-four Russia? I don't understand I don't know I don't. We have a four K. There's four K. Ten Eighty P so ten eighty was the HD standard like last ten years. Now it's four K. And then seven twenty P is like was crappy. Hd Back when I was fifteen. Seven twenty is what your camera does. That's the highest resolution will do twelve twelve hundred eighty pixels wide by seven. Twenty doll- Which is okay for like viewing on a mobile phone. But I just don't understand like when there's four K. phones four K. cameras in your phone. Why you can't put a four K camera and a computer air? Welcome your Webcam SNOB. You know I am a Web game snob But it's just it's just ridiculous like people video call more today than ever and when you buy a new computer like this Lenovo Laptop that uses pretty new gun November and for two grand. You should be able to get just like the same webcam quality. That's on your stupid smartphone. Latest more from cost two hundred dollars. Now you know what I mean. It just doesn't make sense to me. I understand like why they make those decisions. When Apple's reengineering laptops all these companies to bring out the latest and the greatest and they're like what kind of Webcam we put in these board meeting to discuss the specs. What kind of Web game? Let's go with the same quality we've had since nineteen eighty. Yeah that sounds good. You know what everyone agree. Yes they drop the gavel on. It just doesn't make sense. I don't understand. I'll make a few calls. Algiers a global conspiracy is what I think. Honesty's happening We into other conspiracies if this were the now 'cause So for those of you viewing. If you don't know bobby and I don't talk about a lot of things notably Donald Trump Vaccines You believe in the Easter Bunny. Probably right coming up. We'll find out. I got a guy came up overnight. Bobby REFUSES TO BELIEVE ANYTHING. You just picked. His like is infuriatingly agnostic. Point of view you're like trump could be really selfish or maybe is not there like some things that are objectively may be true and and I'm going to tell the line it's not the line. We never make a decision. It's towing the line rattled. Land straddling you. Don't have any information to get decision. I've got my twitter up right now with my twitter feed is full of virus information right now virus information a everything I could be. It could be the world's leading expert on Corona virus at this point while I do find it fascinating. What Liberty University's doing they're just like. Oh No Virginia Yeah. We don't want the kids to miss out on college. Does calling so great. Just throw the whole quarantine thing and do in a disarray A. Just doesn't make any sense to me. It makes sense and through the Lens that he just doesn't seem to care or Jerry. Falwell junior or subscribe to science. I mean every person in the world is saying that's a bad idea on putting all their instructors at risk especially and their students do. I can't imagine anybody is in a hurry to get back to Lynchburg Virginia being someone who's frequented there and also live there. It is awful for any viewer for anybody of theirs. God help you if you are viewing this and live in. Lynchburg my apologies. The K. MARTS. Nice in the tractor supply top notch but that place is just brutal will ironically enough. It's called liberty but they have vastly reduced liberties if your liberty student. Because it's such a religious school are sean toppled. Did you play Sean? I did one of my teammates. Are Mutual teammate. Sean off all went to liberty and I I. I probably gave him crap about going to liberty every other week blade. Hey Sean when did you learn to dance? I know they don't let you know they don't allow dancing liberty. And he's like Dan we dance. Liberty like Sean. When did you first hear real music? Because I know they don't let you listen to music at liberty. He's like we could listen to music he's like. I don't know about liberty but it's terrible. It's terrible the town is nice people just nothing to do. I'm sure there's like Buffalo Wild Wings a lot of colleges to now this is. This is extreme we went to Northern Illinois. I mean what do you mean? The Northern University Harvard of the Midwest is the yeah own hit phenomenal academic. I mean I remember looking up. I think I one of my summer teams had a game near Dekalb Illinois which is where he ignored their Roy is a cal to Catholic. Alb- sorry And I got depressed just looking at Google maps. I was like you got you get a branch out of your bubble. The calva destination spot in the northern part of They look old wooden waterpark or something raves winners and there's a bridge corn fast corn fest. Twenty twenty no way cancel it. There's no there's no way all right enough enough about mine so all modern Boca I'm I went to UNBC which is no livelier. It's Everyone stays in a does computer science on Friday nights so serving you all now. Ironically enough I do a lot of computers even though I did nothing with computers Philosophy so there you go So Bobby I wanNA talk today about the softball swing versus the baseball swing. When you got same swing next question some people say I mean they're like you know girls are a little weaker when they're younger if they cut down there swaying if they kind of changed things. They make more contacts. How do you feel that I would not teach a softball player to swing any differently So one of the girls At the facility that I have up here in Chicago does I. I refer any softball Players to her just because she's professional softball player. She's got the experience. She teaches slap hitting which is totally different Idea WANNA get a little bit of a running start but the bad in the ball basically. You're halfway down the line by the time the the ball reaches the the fielder. You're safe all the time. If you can execute that but the swing itself mechanically keynote the the idea of how you get set up into the back hip everything. I would teach baseball clarity softball player. You know I. I'm seeing the. There's a the same thing we talked about Monday. Jeff Frye Kinda throughout that same thing. Baseball versus off ball on it. It was it was Kinda Steering himself towards the point of the ball is different which is obviously true You know I'm family give softball lesson Softballs but the same way I would teach a baseball swing Softball SWING PHILOSOPHY. Might be different. Where put the ball in play is more emphasizing off? Maybe I'm not I don't coach softball. I do actually like watching softball softball. I've gone a few softball been professional softball game like the the pace moves. I mean it's it's the pace of play that you want baseball to have the ball. The ball's in play like everybody's flying around the basis obviously only like sixty five feet..
