"You wouldn't be out of the loop with pop punk. Yeah i got a lot of all and we don't have to talk about my fucking for an hour here on this golf podcast and i got a lot of people saying like i. Don't care about frankie double anymore. On stool scenes. It was like the first falcon thirty minutes of stool seen so. There's been a lot of elbow content at parcel sports. We're going to get to the network and get to the next. But the reason why i cared so much about pop punk got a lot of tweets about this feeling of why the fuck do care about some dumb concerts. Hey guys like if you've ever played an instrument in your entire life or you've ever done anything or gone to a concert. Why wouldn't you wanna be a part of a simulation where you're a rockstar. For two hours where you get to go to massive music venues step up behind a drum kit and play songs that you love people in the crowd love and you get to like legitimately be a. It's like a mako wish rockstar for two hours. You're thinking i'm gonna actively try not do that at parcells sports. We get these simulation feelings where it's like ooi. Did you grow up like watching mike tyson. All these great boxers. Do you wanna step into a ring with a walkout music and step up prized ridiculous. Hundred thousand dollar fight on fight night and pay per view. Is that something that you wanna do. Like obviously oh bar sports here is the place that you can do it. Have you ever gone to a concert. And one like hit the fucking bay. Strom in the lights go crazy and and like confetti comes flying out of the stage and people screaming and throwing the pantyhose at you sure. Yeah let's do it. Let's sign up. We'll borrow sports has that for you. Why would i actively try and miss that so when i heard that there was possibly a concert to concerts one in denver colorado in chicago. Like i mean this is gonna be fucking multi across the country type. Shit that we're going to be doing traveling to go play pop punk. I wanted to be a part of it. I wanna miss it in in college when we played rock bantu and we got to the higher stages six day. I don't want to miss that. Because we would rotate drummers we'd rotate different positions. We had like eight guys. If you got kicked out of one of those one of the big show. We'd be rattled for a week. Also i know the way this place works like the whole smitty got shoulder surgery and then i became the drummer like the storyline was to perfect for me to get elbow surgery and he becomes a drummer again. And i'm way too protective of that drum kit right now. It may sound weird. It may sound fucking childish. I fucking love it. It's something i actually love. There's not many things. I love in this world anymore. I'm very dark. I'm very twisted. I'm very fucked up. Jay loved the drums. Yeah i think that's fair all fair. I'm glad you're surgically repaired. We're all rooting for the safe and speedy recovery. For you frank. Thank you very much guys. What if also now. I just hit like sick baby cuts and stuff like what..

"Com. Hotlines buddy of ours. Rich Walberg used to work in these fine hallways and confines iheart radio. But his nuts move down to Cincinnati chamber, rich. How are you? Well, good to hear from your stern, you tutor. And that's our strengths strings guitar. Yes. During its fine stirring, the neighbor's kid calls me Stuey, so it's fine. And. Out your name now. That's exactly right. The dog. And I'm like, thanks, man. Thanks, buddy. Yeah. So anyway, I this, I guess this is the official kick off to summer usually, I think, okay opening day, but sometimes we'll get snow and cold or whatever else, but taste of Cincinnati, it either rains or the Blast Furnace is on, and I think we're gonna get maybe mostly just Blast Furnace at summer all of a sudden. Choose between furnace or rain, I'll take furnace, but, you know, I it is like you said, it's the unofficial kickoff to summer. So we're gonna have some summer when it makes perfectly good sense, now for someone who doesn't know what taste of Cincinnati isn't. It's kind of been the name. I mean, just about anything and everything that you could find eat in and around the Tri state, there will be a booth or something set up where somebody's cooking it up. And doing well in the u I've elder people from all kinds of other places too. Right. Yeah. For someone who has never been. It's three days. It's Saturday Sunday. Monday eleven till eleven on Saturday and Sunday. Eleven till nine on Monday. We have seventy different vendors. Thirty four of those are restaurants from around the region. Nineteen which is the most, we've ever had our food trucks from also from around the region, and then seventeen vendors from Finley market and Finley kitchen, make up our taste of Finley market area, and between them. They'll have about three hundred different menu items. We have lots and lots of beers. We have about one hundred eleven different varieties of beer. Yes. Half of those brewed right here in Cincinnati region. And then entertainment all weekend long. We have forty five different acts playing on. That's amazing. So I mean, how, how do you even keep track of all that? I mean, you gotta figure out who's wear and went and I know over the years, this is sort of migrated in areas of the trusted in space and everything else. So where exactly is it set up for this taste of Cincinnati on fifth street has been for quite a while? And then for the last three years, it's been pushed to the east a little bit. So it starts at main street on fifth and works at sway towards mount Adams and goes onto the ramp of ice, seventy one and onto the ramp Columbia Parkway and have mount Adams as the backdrop and especially at night. That's really it's beautiful. It is. It's spectacular is pretty cool. And it's the only time you can actually play on those ramps without becoming headline, which I it's the little things in life that I look forward to rich Walberg from Cincinnati chamber. "Our daily podcasts. This program has gone plausible. We are where growing, and you can't control it actually, you can you can help us. What you do? You can't stop it. What you do is. You could share it. You know, we get a lot of times. We'll get this anecdotally over the years. We've we've gotten this feedback man been telling my friends, you know, what you can share it. Go to Red Eye Radio show dot com. Click on the on demand. And then you know, when you get to the daily podcast page take that Lincoln shirt with friends saying, hey, I think you'd like to show, you know, these guys are ready, then you should really listen. One of our listeners did that yesterday was telling somebody, you know, us being on overnight. You know, that they can't listen, you can podcast podcasting is the thing. Now, you so you know, these guys are ready. It's you can you can tune in tune into the idiots overnight, and and check it out. And and so you can help spread the word because soon we will be taking over the world. And we also have added to our family a podcast with the extra mile podcasts. Telling some very interesting stories and were in fact in the worst, we got some really great stories from the trucking industry, the people that make up this great industry that has such a well, it's the backbone of the economy. And and has such a massive impact and has had on my life for for many many years directly as a result of my career. But also, of course, everybody's life because trucking delivers well all were stuff if George Carlin were here over our stuff, we got too much stuff. And it's so many great stories that we've put together, and we're telling them on the extra mile podcast that you can learn more about that as well. Really simple. Red Eye Radio show dot com. And keyword podcast. You can click on demand when you're there and check it out, but I used to really ticked off at Carlin when used to talk about stuff and everybody had too much stuff because I knew because I was listening in high school that he had more stuff than I than I had a little offended by that. Yeah. Now moving moving on from that. I do wanna address it because I got one the other day. We we have had a slogan on the show for the longest time. And it really is caught on better than any of the slogans that, well, maybe except for the we're doom slogan. That might be our most popular one the second most popular one that we came up with one time. And there was a reason to do it is when we say if the two idiots overnight can understand it. So can you and we will occasionally get listener saying, why do you guys do that? Why why do you demean yourself like that? We're not. It's a simple point that we're trying to make. Yeah. And the the the point is that all of these concepts out there, whether they're political. Economic? Science arguments that we make our entire point is they're not that hard. We came up with that. Because of the elitism that exist that you see in a lot of politicians were they tell you. You can't understand this. We came up with that. Because we would have people that would call this show in the past. That would say, look, I'm just a janitor. Look, I'm just a truck driver. Look, I'm just a cook who works overnight. And we would say stop that don't say that don't start the sentence with that. Because all you're doing is all you're doing is making the point that they love to hear that you're stupid, and they're the smart ones, and they can dictate your life because you really can't figure out. What was what's going on? That's where that came from it came from the entire sentence when we say the two idiots if the two overnight can understand it. So can you that these things are not that hard and don't let the elitist? That sit up there as we have talked about before but in in their gated communities in their gated homes with their private security. I'm giving one example here with their private armed security. And then telling you that you shouldn't have a second amendment, right? That's the kind of elitism that exists. We talked about a lot about it from Hollywood. But it also exist. Look Bernard Goldberg wrote about it in his first book. Yeah. On on bias about when you're inside the beltway. And when you're in the media of New York, and in Washington DC, and how they think, and they actually think they know better than you. And our point is, well, you know, we're all of this country was born by what? All all the misfits and the rejected ones right all the idiots and all the idiots out there. The whole point is the idiots are actually pretty smart. The actually know what's going on. And so just so, you know, that's where it it. It comes from. We understand that we actually do have a grasp of a couple of things maybe sometimes. Yeah. All right. I'll go with that. We can say that. Because we understand that the substance of our argument is what makes it so you like us or you don't like us or the substance of what you feel is the lack of substance of our argument, depending on the point of view that you come from. Right. That's how we will be judged. Eventually not by a slogan, which is trying to make just a point at least. That's what we call the common folk when we're on the air. Yes around there. I'm the no. But you think about the? I mean, we're naturally inclined to be critical thinkers, you know. Humans. Really are we're born that way. My grandson was born less than forty eight hours. I forgot I forgot on the air. I haven't talked about it. And I know that you were I do know that you were waiting because we worked long enough together. I know you were waiting likely for me to mention it. Actually, I did think about personal he wants to mention his own. Yeah. I was going to mention it. Today. Right. And I forgot my, you know, and I don't like children, but I'll use it to patronize our audience here. And then I think because I. I I got to spend some real quality time with him at the hospital holding him changing his diaper. Yeah. Which I'm pretty good at I'm pretty good. You know, he's number eight in the line of grandchildren. And so, yeah, it's crazy and Eric's only thirty one I know we start early. Let's get right to it. So when when when I'm looking around, you know at this, and it's incredible. By the way, it's always incredible for me had a loved one going through cancer recently. And she was having surgery and the staff that hospital the surgeon and everybody was just it was just it's just mind boggling to watch it. And then today watching my looking into my grandson's is is I'm telling him a story. My wife always tells me because I thought I was the keen of babies where I could just you know, seeing them to sleep and talk them to sleep. She goes note, your voice it puts everybody to sleep. I said, yeah. Okay. Sorry. But I was talking to him. And you know, I I was just telling my grandson this great story, you know? And he's just looking up at me. And I'm thinking to myself, you know, here it is. Here's the beginning of life so precious, but the brain and everything then I'm I'm I'm looking at these unbelievably. Dedicated nurses in that in that room and the job they're doing. And then I'm thinking about the education that they had to get in one of them told me, she's pursuing even more education about I thought. Wow. You know, it's we are. We are as a creature. We are built with these critical thinking skills we often put them to use. Breaking down. The ideas is not hard. If you look at the fundamental, a ideas of this country what we were founded on. We go back to the lake Charles Krauthammer. And he talked about, you know, we are a nation that at one point he was talking about we we are unique nation in that. We're the only nation founded on an idea that ideas freedom. Think about that. Think about saying we are going. We're going to venture out. We are. We are going to seek this freedom at some point. You always bring up the movie, you know, John Adams, and in that moment, you know, when they're going around the room, and you know, it's it's impossible to knows. No. Because there weren't video cameras back then, but I think that a picture by the actors, and I've seen it myself. That look on their face when the understand when they know full well what they're doing. And that it was going to take a battle literally, and and then likely for ever to preserve to to achieve that freedom and preserve that freedom. And you think about the fortitude of individuals, whether it's a nurse that decides young person I'm going to go out, and I'm going to be a nurse. I'm going to go help people, by the way, it's not a glamorous job at all. And or doctor or somebody serving in the community law enforcement, or whatever it might be. We as as as species, we we are very capable of that critical thinking. We we often set it aside for whatever reason we often set it aside, but we're at our best when we're using it. And so. Like, you said with with with most individuals, you can talk to them their reasoning skills their their critical thinking skills going going to play right away. It's often. Like, we said, we like, you said, the caller that you know. I'm just a truck driver. I'm just you know, I'm I'm just guy out here. You know, whatever they're doing and wearing our show. You know, you know, bring something you could. I'm sure you could see it me and both you and I come from blue-collar backgrounds. My first job was cleaning toilets. But you know, I was a steelworker. I was a machinist. I labor worked in front of a heat treat of Blast Furnace, you know. And when I see people do that. And by the way, the pe- a lot of people that I worked with their when I worked for for like five years in those different industries, and whether I worked in banking, or the janitor, or whatever I met people that were collar. Workers at did all kinds of amazing things on the side from using to art. I couldn't believe some of the talented existed. They're right. But it comes to the point of where we're dealing with right down one. We talk about, you know, micro, for example, talking about trades and people look down upon trades. And I've said this many times before gimme gimme any car mechanic out there. Give me any machinist out there. Oh, yeah. They have they they're just as knowledgeable of how the world runs and the technical. And we see right now in Washington DC, all these elitist liberals out there that believe they know how the world runs in there completely clueless. And that you're right. If you're you're a machinist or you're a janitor or your chef. You're a truck driver at night, who's running your own, you know, a business it or you're working your second job you're up in middle of the night because you've got your own business. And this is the free time where you can get a lot of your paperwork done for them to want to demean you for what you do and to demean just hard work to begin with because you can just be a hard. You can be a laborer. And maybe you work hard every single day just as labor that doesn't mean that you're not a critical thinking person. That's what you're doing right now to provide for yourself and your family, and just you know, how much you take me off Eric you saw me I would get really ticked off. And I'd say don't say that. It's because it's not true. It's not it's not true. And when when it's not true and people buy into it. And and they when they buy into it when somebody's telling them, you don't have what it takes because of your profession of what you're doing. Right now at this time makes it so I in the elitist that can control your life and tell you what to do. And when people buy into that for a moment when they say things like, well, I'm only this. So I really don't know what's going on right? And that's the thing that we talked about this. This is how it relates to you personally and really gets into your business. If they convince you. That that they are on this much higher level. And that your work really doesn't mean anything. Then look how easy it is for them to get more of that money that you earn when you're doing that important job. Think about that. Then is your that your blood, your, sweat, your tears, your experience everything is represented because that is your value.

"I feel like there's a fourth destiny which is the competitive part of it. Which is a part way, you're challenging yourself to have greater skill than opponents or playing gambit and trying to beat the other team in that rush. You get from winning at me, which is not something you get in the pita. I think that is true. And that's more true. Other games have than it is destiny. I think that that's like a pretty distant thing in like two for most players. That's connected because it's one of the reasons that a lot of people are going for that rare loot is so they're better at the competitive carton of. Yeah. I I mean, that's true. I think that's valid fourth one. I think it's true or of a game. Let's like primarily about TV P, and I would say that in general the appeal of destiny is more of a PVC thing with some PB pee on top. But you're right. That is like the competitive part like that doesn't quite fit that kind of is adjacent to the three article Jason. It's. To the feelings. I'm talking about are like the three types of like like, it's like the ways that you're chasing loot, basically, and like imperative theories sort of separate from faces those so anyways closing thought is a rush rush fresh dick whose name is hard to say ten times fast. Who was sometimes you're it's probably gone guy. He wrote this article for polygon about chasing rolls on this pulse. Rifle called Blast Furnace Blast Furnace that you get from one of the forges, and it's a really good gun. And I went and got it. And I the I got pretty good. And so these guns have random roles it's called random perks. And there's a God role, of course for every gun. It's almost always the same collection of perks. And he described the process of spending hours and hours just God role. It's worth noting the guardrail is based on how it performs TV p most not always in this case like p or it depends on the gun some guns got all the you have a PB gone role got roll whenever got it. But in this case yet this. A really good PCP gun anti-gun. It's really good. And it's fun to use. When I got it. I was like, wow. I really like using this fun. He chased it forever. He had the screen shot of his vault of all the different copies. He got. He was searching for the perfect role. And he has I don't know how many like forty or fifty or something just. Raiding. It gave me such a flashback to year one destiny or I think it was year one when they gave you the option to re-rule the perks on existing gun. You could go spend some into it. And I had this gun called the hopscotch pilgrim, which was a lot like this. It was like this. Great pulse. Rival the nobody could get at the time. And I started re rolling at trying to get a perfect role. And it was the most degenerate horrible shit. I've ever done in a game. Like, I was like just hours just clicking this button watching the slot machine. And and it was it was horrible. I remembered eventually stopping to be like look at yourself like this isn't like this isn't even interesting for an article you might write about this anymore. This just sucks, and it was that same feeling and that feeling is like very tight and with that are Angie like chasing the random thing and just is really intense, and it can be very rewarding. And that dopamine rush of gambling when you get the awesome thing. And I get why it exists, but it is very challenging for me..
