"Tankless water heaters with local rebates at tankless made simple dot com so yesterday. The broncos made a decision at quarterback right and drew lock by the way Met with the media. And i thought i had a pretty mature way of of looking at it earlier today. We'll play that for you momentarily. But he again. Everything is relative. i get the teddy. Bridgewater wasn't good enough in carolina's why if we're the broncos and clearly the broncos wanted either aaron rodgers of shawn watson and we're gonna settle on teddy bridgewater who wasn't good enough for the carolina panthers wide but look teddy. Broncos are talented. i they have. They've added tremendous skill position. Dudes the defense appears to be back. You got a tremendous defensive coach. And i think that teddy is steady. And if we're really fair about it like did he get a fair shot and carolina fair shot. Yes got a new contract. Got some money got to start the christian. Mccaffrey played three games last year. He's in the conversation of best all around offensive player in football. I'm not just talking about fantasy football that dude's a stud. You only have your best player for three games. You're in rebuild mode like he completely scripted and started over not really sure what expectations are. But if there's there's one thing that teddy can do manage game now. You're not gonna have the spectacular. He doesn't do a deep down the field to go back to when he was in minnesota the year before he tours knee up he managed the game. They should have beaten the seattle seahawks in the playoffs. For blair walsh missing an absolute chip twenty-three order so i i think it's the right call because what you get with. Drew lock is the peaks. But you also get the valleys to get the valleys. Here's drew lock talking to the media. It's disappointing every you possibly have at this point in this day and then just this circumstance you know. They're running deep no finger-pointing no negatively. It's going to be about me. Finding ways is still you know. Make this team great. whether that's practice working with teddy. Try to find ways for him to get better whatever he needs me to do That's that's pretty much my goal. It's great that's what backup quarterback does backup quarterback saw about the starter. I understand is all about the about the the the normal lead actor so and andrew is a guy who i think. he's frustrated the broncos with some maturity. Step off the field in preparation. Whatever obviously has talent like no one's ever questioned his talent and you can stay ready because Teddy does have some limitations. There is a lower ceiling there but teddy being steady might be good enough for this team. I don't think so. I know people want to say. The broncos is a playoff team. I know the raiders aren't quite there. The chargers talent wise are the chiefs quite obviously are and to have three teams at that high level in that division. And we're not even talking about the raiders. And i do think that the raiders are going to have an incredible home field advantage here..

"No way to know what that have any effect, but it's certainly something to keep an eye on as we keep going in a play that made a lot of jet stands, smiles. Former jet Jamal Adam's read Sam Donald all the way on a third down, play and have the ball hit him right in the chest. But he couldn't make the catch. If he had Adam's how to get us to run so while possibly even for a touchdown, but they had to settle for a punch. Can't stand to see wise Russell Wilson's five of eight for 71 yards and a touchdown on that one pick Carlos Hyde, four carries for 40 yards today. Chris Carson, the other running back three carries for 18 yards on the other side, not a whole lot going offensively for the Jets. Sand Donald full of a For 45 yards. Friend governor had 11 yards on his first carry, and on his next four carries five yards. So 16 total yards or Frank or not a whole lot there, But right now, as we get started here in the second quarter, it's 73 Seahawks over the Jets. All right, thank you very much, and I apologize, it said. I thought it was crazy. That said eight seconds left in the first half was the first quarter. So now it is second quarter underway. The Seahawks looking to add to their lead at 73 right now, over the Jets, Let's go toe. Philadelphia. Michaela want no standing by I as the Saints and Eagles are winding down the first quarter. Michael right now, the sense we're about to attempt a 45 yard field goal by will what's on their first drive that took over. At their own 37 after the guy that tried on 1/4 into the 2nd 4th and 2 conversion attempt, But that drive that was failed. Now the simpletons by what's my lunch? Had failed as well. That goes wide right. So we will scold us here in the first half of that in the first quarter equals in the same things. Well, Gellar hurts on his first drive and did some impressive things in that Dr. Able to roll. Well, you've got a couple of passes and sends him drives the better on 1/4 of one by one. I'm gonna keep her there, then up the middle for a three yard game and then again kept gonna drive alive alive alive with was well. With his legs and is one of ability and this vulnerability in going out. But again, a couple of key penalties in that Dr Kind of hurting momentum, and eventually the face took over, But we're screwed right now, with 58 seconds to go. In the first quarter. All right, Thank you very much. Kevin Shockey so far in Philadelphia today, Jalen hurts getting the call and not much really going on in the passing games thus far that second and gold play for the Seahawks has resulted in a touchdown. Looks like it might have been. Tyler locked. No DK Metcalf, just the opposite one from smaller, smaller, big and he came Metcalf coming up big once again, so he catches the second touchdown pass the day from Russell Wilson as he has an easy time doing it, And right now it is the Seahawks with a 13 to 3 lead over the Jets with the point after pending In that one. So we have six games going on right now the Packers and Lions or even at seven as the bond a Adam's tying it up with a 56 yard strike from Aaron Rodgers after TJ Hawkinson called a one yard touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford to get the lion's going early. So the Packers looking for win number 10 on the year currently tied With lions at seven all keen Alan, a 10 yard scoring strike from Justin Herbert and the Chargers with a seven to nothing lead over the Falcon. So already better off than they were. We could go last Sunday night. Earlier today. It was the Vikings starting off with six straight points. But Blair Walsh missed, I should say Dan Bailey missed four kicks today, including an extra point. The Buccaneers rolled by a score of 26 to 14 as the Buccaneers comeback after back to back losses. And head coach Bruce Arian said It was very important that his team stayed mistake free today. Now the only thing we had to drive start with a penalty that was really ticked me off because we only had about 30 seconds off the clock because that penalty but Yeah, I think our team is especially offensively. Is really they're insane. They know what we're trying to get done, and Tom did a great job protecting the bone and making big place. Expression about We're gonna go over to General Lane. Coach. I know that Tom's throwing it to whoever's open, but I know Scotty Miller and targeted like twice in the last three weeks. How much of a priority was it to get him involved today and to get him involved on some of those deep passes? Not none Really. He's just He's the deep guy on that pattern. Tom read it out in the hidden but it was not deciding to go to Scott. He was designed to go somebody else and coming off of not just the bye week, But having two losses before that, right, like you can't get that bad taste out of your mouth and play the next week because you got the by how big was it for you guys To be able to come out of this with the W and head in the right direction is huge. I mean, we had to do this. It was a big game force. Guys did their job They arrested They took care of the virus. We came back clean, healthy and you know, and he showed up today. We were very fresh team I thought in the fourth quarter. Thank you. We're gonna go to Ira Kaufman..

"Less than 24 hours after a four hour drive. I was out of town, southern Indiana, I just want to throw this out. I did not see one Biden sign anywhere. It was all Trump Pence in southern Indiana. I go into a Thornton's and on the way out to fill up and get some gas and then also Grab a coffee on the way out, and there's wear masks all over the doors and such I go in there. Nobody is wearing a mask that is in their their families of people going in and out. And I don't think they care much for the cove it down. There is all I'm saying One of the employees had one. It looks like a chin strap around there. It was on, but underneath their chin. One other girl had one on it was below our nose. And I just thought man, they say, is that it's like they It's like we're in a different country. It's bizarre, but at the same time I'm like these people here, just like I'm not buying it there. Whatever. Hips, families and kids, Husbands, wives. I don't exactly think Indiana was in the state. There was in play for Biden anyway this year, so it's not I'm not surprised. What was it the one year like 12, or 08 win for Obama, like the first time a gun Democrat since Like the seventies or the sixties. Yeah. Yeah, And you're probably you're right. It's just It's Trump Pence everywhere. Like I said, I never did Lay eyes on Lana Biden. Harrison anywhere down there. And Ahh, Yeah, I mean, that's and they're They're just kind of what would that be? That be like Northwest of Louisville is where they live. The major city is Louisville near them. So you know where you were in the heart of India and you were like down in the southern southern Southern. My fact. You know, my they're the ones with a couple of pizza shops in Louisville. And so that's the main city near them. They were in the other in the middle of nowhere, man, my fax. You know, the cell signals are still really bad there where we were would drop out. We wouldn't you know? That is so funny watching Stoney's Jones and like a crack at it, Holly missed all he wasn't doing with scratching his neck going. Hey, you got some of that signal? He got some of that signal forming dead And then you guys sitting room, right? Right. That was basically how would you guys weekend? Good. Yes. No. Fantastic. I, um Saturday was we got fall, there's spring cleaning. We did fall cleaning My wife. I want to give her such kudos on the air. She before I'd even crawled out of bed at like 10 30 on Saturday morning. Cheese. She had the house looking UN riel laundry's going I didn't get any breakfast because that's my punishment for for sleeping, and she cooked herself in the kids Breakfast, which I didn't deserve anyways. Well, why would you miss out on if I could ask you a really good sausage Patties, eggs and toast with strawberry Jam? Oh, no, That's a travesty. Are you kidding me? I took it in stride. I chose to stay up smoking cigars drinking. Ah, fine Bourbon on Friday night. Thus, I I was crawling on the bed a little later on Saturday. Well, which would you rather have bourbon and a cigar or breakfast? I we all won the whole cease household one. Let's put it that way. It sounds like and then yesterday my Brown's air for and won for the first time in 26 years I was in seventh grade. I'm going to be 39 in less than a month. I was in seventh grade. The last time the Cleveland Browns were foreign one. So it was a great weekend and your weekend, Dave, man. I mean, I know it was good. It was I made French toast and eggs and bacon yesterday morning. What? So you could have won over to hit? Wait? No, that was Sunday. You miss Saturday. All right. Saturday, the wife made pancakes and eggs. I mean, a good home. Mast had ribs on Saturday night. Homemade ribs. You know, you made the rib. She did. I did not know. You guys have a smoker. You just deny she did him in. Ahh, the crossfire and it went out the crock pot. What's that newfangled invention? The air fire known here, Friar. It's like the pressure cooker. Oh, yeah? Yeah, the pot. The Since the pot instead. Margo Okay. Wow, Esso then And then, of course, a miserable, you know, Game last night on Sunday night football that I So you're like, Yeah, Watch him squander it literally in the last play of the game, So do you think even if they would have won last night? Is that a spark enough to get them going? In the NFC to be in the race. I think it would have just because it would have been two in a row and then for anybody to go in and beat Seattle in Seattle that that's that's a major accomplishment, so I think it could have been. You take any solace in the fact that it was Seattle who you lost two. They've got our number, and we cannot beat that team even when you go back to the playoffs. I don't know if you remember that game a few years back where we had the game and Our kicker goes out there. Tio win the game and and shanks AA chip shot. Ah, and see how it goes under the and I think they went deep in the playoffs. That if they got our number was Blair Walsh? It was that his name. I think it was like a 30 yard field goal. Yeah, yeah, sorry. So not listen. So, Steiner, what you want to say? Steelers Air Steelers air for the last time they were for now they won the Super Bowl. I was 10 years old when they were one, lad. Well, when they started a foreigner season now, if you would've asked me today If you would've went multiple choice Blazer the last time the Steelers started for No was a 19. Blah, blah, blah, 19, blah, blah, 1979 or 19, blah, blah, blah. I would not have guessed 79, especially if you would have said, I don't know. Ah 2000. I don't know. We'll get like when Ben's been in. That's would have been my best guess maybe 2005 or whatever. Something like that where I would've said Oh, man, So the last time 1979 they won the Super Bowl that year. I don't know what that means. Now, who knows? Especially in this goofball doesn't mean anything right? It really does. And it's an interesting stacks. I think it bodes better for the Browns and therefore one start, then the Steelers in the floor. Oh, start Clearly we're missing the game because of the Titans were supposed to play last week, probably in the whole covert thing. So I think it bodes better for the Browns and their start because they have sucked for so bad for so long. So right now what they're doing is getting a lot of national attention. People are like going Wait a minute. Are they for real? Now, right about this time. Do you get nervous, Josh? As the national they've become starting, maybe they start to become the national darlings like people like, Hey, and then they go. Yeah, and they start buying it is like I don't want you guys start later. You know so far that so far the national narrative is Okay? Yeah. You beat the Bangles. You beat Washington. They're terrible. You beat Dallas. They're no good. Yeah, the Colts, but they were missing their best. They're missing their left tackle in their best defensive player on the beam at home..

"Race caller can't bear these he does everything he did and he loves you what's the feeling is mutual absent any love Waddell's world as well how could you know and he joins us right now on ESPN one thousand you guys have had one heck of a summer up in the Twin Cities haven't yet. what do you mean with the baseball team yeah I mean that's yeah that's a yeah yeah. now it's been good ma'am and was weird for them last night they they beat Detroit than they had to sweat years outsiders speeding beating Cleveland they did they celebrated now I think they're bracing for the big bad Yankees speaking of the summer high I think Waddell's world because some of my race calls on TTC and sent me a very nice message I did I if you watch TV G. they'll bounce around from track to track it Paul in my humble opinion and I'm not saying this because you're you're on with this right now is my favorite thoroughbred horse racing voice of all. Hey I'm a still be have you ever considered that day you don't give Waddell's world the proper respect for the career he had as a receiver for the bears I mean do you ever consider that because here's the deal hi Adam on my radio show today I asked him a question about the bears defense and he proceeded to go down the road of the fact that his first NFL touchdown was against the bike into his last NFL touchdown was against the Vikings and the way he made the double movie put on Todd Scott sound I mean either got to be one of the great receivers in history bears football I'll tell you this I would not I would normally say yes I I under rate him in many different areas but when water what aid I did not under rate him because I did have an eighty seven Tom Ronald Jersey Hey I think I think he was Chad be be before Chad B. B.. at B. B. too fat to fax. a still be what he ate the Vikings I'm I you know where it comes from in and there was a time in my I lived in Iowa my first job was in northwest Iowa upon you know that it's not far from Mankato so it was a huge Viking territory so obviously I did not I grew up not loving the Packers but then when I'm not there and I had to hear from Vikings fans and those were the mid ninety years where our some good rival raising Chris Carter had to let us know every single time. I dislike her Chris Carter more than any player in the NFL on a really. hitting your team okay and and in deep diving Waddell's world for my nine seventeen segment today man back back when Tommy played the Vikings Jedi meant success against the bears some you know we hope we have Sunday three twenty five water world time. whole whole collectible are you with your quarterback at this stage in this offense. reporter are pretty good about it now but now that they're running it the way they're running it now you know there are like when we were there last year man I think it was the twenty five twenty game digs put the double movement solar get by am quarterback over throws in by ten and that kind of turn the entire game around probably could have done without the pick six Jedi Jackson but but like games like that they they they happened but they don't happen as frequently as people think now you know fairness and cousins act ma'am is is is weak to gain this year Lambeau worst of his career the completion percentage was forty two worst of his career for an interception back right at the ends on the basically lost the game it was terrible so now you know was Tommy knows because he played what do you do next game he got a bounce back efficiently Kirk did that high why you heard that the one was sold beautifully so it's been in and out but with this running game and I feel pretty good about it with the success you will get you guys are having on the ground a hundred ninety four yards per game I believe in that dollar cooks like six and a half yards per carry especially against this defense do you expect a more concerned out game plan. man it's this this is unbelievable so stimulating I mean I honestly it's Thursday and waddle world and I can't stop thinking about this bike he's rushing attack against absolutely the best front seven in the NFL I mean a team that is given up one one hundred yard rusher in thirty seven games are you kidding me now the the thing here is and and I'm not overselling this the brainiacs factor with this new offense of staff it my eighteen years calling games for this team I've never seen anything like it the the thirty seven year old coordinator played quarterback in hand so he's from the ideal weight the the amplification coordinator the assistant head coach Gary Kubiak seven super bowls won Super Bowl fifty is a coach with the Broncos and then you get to the run game coordinator of the offense of line coach Rick Dennison who was raised by Alex Gibbs Waddell's world knows what I'm talking about he has he has a masters in in in civil engineering civic engineering from from college so I mean the the the calculated nature of the way they're doing this the way they're changing things during games yeah I've never seen anything like Oakley works on that how much better is Dalvin cook this year than last year. how about that civil engineering Bob I dropped out. but you can get a couple different things before you finally landed on the right one yeah yeah that that was like that was white water this morning on my show making his double move on Todd Scott yeah sounds like it was against Dion Sanders some with the thing with the thing with Clark is in a year it's it's scheme matching skills that man I mean we we had some problems last year so much so that the offense of coordinator in his first year got fired before the season was over so you know the the recognition of not putting cousins on as many stray drops and and having the scheme specifically with the wide zone match exactly what Dalvin does well so whether it's him I think we had on a rookie in the third round Alexander Madison from Boise state he's really good too the the the one two punch mashed with the brainiacs Stepan's ski Kubiak in Denison it's three point three man I mean we we we gave Green Bay a freaking game and we kill is ridiculous so technically the team's an inch from the way you know but the running game is three you know it's unbelievably good just for the record taunts cuts not the only corner that finished his career safety after I got done with that just so that when you look at your bill ski in year three of his NFL career Paul what do you see. yeah without would want only was so good man when he played the rams Mike furry with the D. B. got so frustrated he changed a wide receiver true biz he you know I I probably watch forty five of his snaps and it it just doesn't look markedly different than what I've seen with all due respect and and you know we we do these interviews two three four times a year we always talk about Mitchell you know and and I'm in this gap because I know I know we as talent so it clearly at the defense of bands in the defense's keep contained in the keep him in the pocket that's probably the right way to plan you guys know more about of the main I'm surprised he hasn't run more this year than he has indicates to me it's being taken away from them I've seen a lot of passes sale so I don't know man I mean I'm I'm not in the business of jump in and somebody else is marking a ripping the players my job but I I I haven't been impressed this year hi so you don't wanna jumping in and rip our players I like Rick Spielman he went to southern Illinois where I went he we used to work for the bears so and I like him personally well what is he been doing with the specialist with kickers in the draft than trade that back in the fifth round or me how badly is he messed all this up AB out the preseason we had with Bissell kicking situation a it was unbelievable I mean it is forget the path okay they got nine or ten picks next year anyway so that there was you know that there's more to it than just trading something to get somebody clearly they identified a problem hi it didn't work with the guy for whom they traded so you know we're a buffalo in the fourth preseason game in there giving this that the kid every chance that that they can to win the job and like damn Bailey who as the men's equity with the cowboys and the Vikings he's sitting on the sidelines final like what's going on here comes in the game Spielman is in the booth with me for the radio TV call Bailey nails one from fifty four would have been good from seventy Swedish kid gets cut Bailey them it's just during the course of. Mike Zimmer's run here is that there are been common threads either with significant injury or critical problems back to a playoff game or Blair Walsh messed everything up now now but now Bailey Bailey was wiped out in the last game and and Britain called let another underrated facet of this bad you know he won Super Bowl fifty with Kubiak he holds really well he punched really well and maybe most importantly has a gregarious personality that keeps everybody will so they got it squared away it's good now that belong sappers rookie from airforce he's good I I think the whole thing squared away Paul how is it to deal with coach Zimmer. it's fantastic yeah yeah Mike Mike and I are really close we actually own a horse together that Joe ran the summer Canterbury in that kind of pull this together on a level outside of our outside of football I like Mike Mann and and the number one thing professionally speaking alike about Mike is he runs that balance of being the boss and being bad and he does a really well the players genuinely know he cares for them and defensively speaking and as a head coach is really good at what he does Hey on another front as well zooming out from bears and inviting you have a big NFL football brain when you see Patrick more homes what do you think in these days. about a week football mind sees the best overall quarterback in the National Football League somebody's getting better throw by throw somebody who plays with panache and as a competitive the arrogance where I say that affectionately where he does a robin into people but he just knows he's better and he's getting better is getting bigger is getting faster is unbelievable Paul Allen for another couple minutes while in selfie on ESPN one thousand Packers eagles tonight who you got. that you know these Thursday games are really difficult to predict I mean if you're trying to tap on the announcer for a towel I guess the game would be of the under well mean variety but the the Thursday games are top man because the injuries and and Waddell's world knows it you know when you're playing on Sunday manners super physical you got to turn around on a Thursday man is really really top so I don't like how the eagles.

"I'm writing down a note real quick because sounded like you gamble. The legally with that Super Bowl square. Write a note to call the statue of limitations has passed. That's last game though. They still play football games there. That's a total was the last NFL game ever played there. Last NFL. Wasn't NFL stadium NFL stadium and they don't play there anymore. He had tried to get cute. But the problem with getting cute. There is the Rose Bowl still gives us fresh memories every single year every year. Don't you think wouldn't it be great if they still played the Super Bowl there, wouldn't you? Every year when you see that overhead shot. Listen, I, I am on the record Pasadena, California January first, that is heaven on earth. I've been to two rose bowls of my life. It is the perfect setting for football. It was basically it's, it's football heaven. But we still have it. And we still get memories from it all the time or NFL. NFL and that stadium will always forever be known as a college football stadium more than anything so you are so wrong, you try to get cute and he fell flat on your face alpha. One more candlestick, the forty Niners are very good that year. They won. It was the picket. This thick with the Varo Bowman. And of course, you also had the famous catch with Dwight Clark, and Chris Berman happened to be there. I don't know if you knew that and Tom Brady was there and Tom Brady was there. Tom Brady forty-nine jacket, so. Okay. So we throw a couple extra in there, whether it's the picket, the stick game or the Bank stadium wide left from Blair Walsh, the last game ever played at that college stadium that still has games every year. But it's not NFL games. There's our picks if you're watching on NBC, quick break, we'll wrap up this Friday edition of PF do live right after this. Ticketing. Hi, I'm Frank Thomas. The big hurt after I left baseball. I just couldn't stay shape like I used to turns out once you hit forty your body has less free testosterone and that can make it harder to get into shape. So I.

"Kickers name. Robert Redford, Redford Jones read for Jones, Tulsa. Hurricane golden hurricane. Are you inspired by the signing? I'm just glad that got somebody. Yeah. Yeah. Like seven guys, Nick, folk, Blair Walsh, all those guys. Yeah. Just get somebody have big Cody parkey kickoff. And then, you know, he won't be the I won't be the last maybe this guy will stick. But you know, he's bringing guys in see who. The Dow Jones had a double dunk of his own. I could not believe five. Yes, you're closer. Now. Here's new kicker Redford Jones lining up from. What was your thing? Let's see. Well, we had three shows today with a different one free do's and Dr. Thanks. Yeah. We had just for kicks. We also had footloose. I spent all day on this is really. Foot fetish festival. To go with festivus for the rest of it sucks. A little picture of Rex Ryan. And his wife. Yeah. There you go. See just. Yeah. This brainstorming here any more creative than you know, here we had a we had a real question when you bring in six kickers or seven kickers whatever, and it's four degrees outside and it's snowing which could be bare weather in an important game. In December January are they kicking outdoors. Are they kicking in the and center? I will tell you that we sent chaper seven have sleep over Soldier Field. There was nobody there. They may I don't think they went there early. But we did we did buzzer. And there was no one lion or outlying and for the sole purpose. Or was it like no there was up to and traffic, and you we got a lot of weather and everything can you just kind of ear over and check it out. There was nothing there. So I'm assuming it was in the Walter Payton center, but who knows I mean, it would be a perfect condition. What they did was they they had seven guys, and they cut the six of them who said what I have to drive all the way down there. Kick-me me today. Those who complained about the traffic, I am spinal Redford goes. Yeah. I'd do it. No. Redford Jones in Plato. So I'm gonna say he's a good old boy. It just seems like an odd combination. Some may say Tom Waddell combination. But Redford Jones seems Redford Jones Jones is one of the. Is very uncommon. First name. That's why it kind of doesn't roll off the tip of your tongue. But it's fine. Just hit the ball through the uprights. That's right. Brian james. Remember that song? That's first thing. I thought Redford Jones kinda rolled Reuben James was that a Kenny. Someone can any Roger Roger I'm just trying to see where Redford Jones is from. That's what I'm looking for right now to see if he is New York City. Yeah. His dad's and investment banker. You don't call them red for sure as you call them forward because that'd be better for red red. Nice full head of blonde hair. So that is so as Tulsa, then you can't call them, rather and pictures. Blonde, try. He's not a ginger. You have reports from SOX fest today. Yes, we did back. I got a nice ovation walking up. And of course, to a man all the players are saying, yeah, who wouldn't want Manny. And we may Dion check every room in the Hilton Chicago. She did was steal some towels. And then so we couldn't find him. But you know, what the weekend is young. It is and you know, and yonder Alonzo was teasing us yesterday. When the socks were making calls to the season ticket holders like they do every year. And he's like, you know, just to be, you know, cool with my family and everything else. We're just going to back off and just respect everything. But he might be my neighbor. He's gotta just. Redford Jones is from Norman Oklahoma. Okay. Then he's going to have an accent. I don't know that let's give him on the phone. Norman is where Oklahoma is right, Oklahoma. He lists. Kobe. Toby Keith as the most famous person he's ever met definitely got an accent. Yeah. Her parents are Stephen Christy Jones, majoring, exercise and sports science both of them. And they created this kid. No, he's majoring in exercise science long. No exercise. No, no. That's his major exercise. They remove these pirates of the Caribbean. Steak and lobster is favorite foods. Okay. So that's the bears new kicker as of now, I'm sure they'll add more new kickers have some sort of a bag NFL free agent because he was an undrafted, right? They're getting the guys that they can look at now. Remember, most of the guys who obviously are in college won't be available until after the draft. And then the players who are free agents won't be available to the new league year starts in Mark shop. Go ahead. Yeah. I was gonna say like their scouting staff. I'm sure has a full ride up from this about this guy from his college career. So they're not completely. Hey, who's this Redford Jones guy? I'm sure that they scouted. That's how they got the inva-. They made the invites tough way to make a living. That's for sure member Blair Walsh. He was great. And all of a sudden, gee crashed. Dan Weiner was telling us. He was an all pro his rookie. Yes. And then he then he missed that playoff kick. And he never been the same sense. And it was like a how long was it Meller? Were you saying twenty mid twenty s you know, they brought him back thinking that they could you know, that was just an anomaly he'll be fine. A lot of kickers do go through funds. Remember Mason Crosby for all. He had that one year. We're Packer fans were disgusted, and he was often costing them games. And then half the year after he came back and was great again and has been there kicker at his helmet on sideways looking through the year whole just trying anything. So. Yeah. So how's he back in the fold at socks past? The bulls are back in the United States. I just called in an awful tanking blowout again. I mean, I just mentioned it in briefs. Now, I might show one play member. Now, we talked about I might back to that. And that you tweeted it too. And you had to show that dunk because it was humiliating wind up Justin Anderson climbs up and over Bobby Portis, and he's got his elbows above the rim and threw it at you. And not show highlight showed why? No, yes, that was that was not show highly unless it was a great play. A highly is said you will show a highlight. If there's a great play. Of course, I would. What'd you guys bat? Right. You still Starbucks? That's okay. No big deal. But you see those have to wait in line with all the regular people. Now, he just sends his. Use me. I do the mobile order. You're crazy. If you don't do mobile order get out of my way, shelve here, do the mobile ordering can you? Sandwiches. It's been in that that little case. Yeah. Sometimes market warmed up the other days sandwiches, low mold. Well, if you if you warm it up and kills all that stuff. Yeah. You want to melt the cheese? It kills. All. Right. So you're not talking. See we've got Ozzy back. We've got a new bears kicker you're off of balls here. So no-balls allow waddles world today. A win was he? The great plays. We had tons of Pro Bowl stuff today. We had Josh Bellamy interviewing a bunch of other bears doing that bit. Interview conducted on today's Waddle and Silvy.

"Guys, have I'm currently rewatching the sopranos, but I will give you what will be on my other TV Saturday night as we whether the colts here in Chicago. I'll be watching Golden State at Boston the warriors and the Celtics on ABC. I love me some some Saturday basketball. So that's what I'll be all right now. Give me a show. Do you have a show you go, and I'm not gonna lie. They're not going to be popcorn. And candy. Like the fire doc was on Netflix just dropped yesterday. This may not be for everybody. But conversations with a killer. The Ted Bundy tapes, I saw that. Yeah. The thirty on the thirtieth anniversary of his execution. They have released a documentary centering around conversations with him in prison. So that one's disturbing. It may not be for everyone. One other one for you guys Brexit on HBO. They just aired it last Saturday. So I believe you can get on HBO on demands. It was a deep look starring Benedict Cumberbatch. It was really well done. And I enjoyed it's about two hours long. So. Okay. I have not used this this year for what to watch for did mention an earlier in the week friends from college is a good thirty minutes show. It's dark comedy. There could be some deep story lines at but every episode has like laugh out loud. Hyperventilating stuff. Fred Savage's in it. Nice. What's what's what's the big stars name? Who's the director ki from Kenyon peel? Yeah. He's great. It's a great show. Check that out. Why have you ever check that out have not they go what to watch for each and every Friday in the four o'clock hour and still going to get to have you finished the wire, I am I it was an hour and a half last episode. I did not realize that when I started it. So I watched the first half hour, and I'll probably watch it tonight. I think that's going to be when I finish up with the R Kelly. Series mini series. I think I'm going to go back to the wire with a wire what I've learned is. You just have to be focused just be focused. Let it play let the game come to you. And it will be delightful. You'll love it. Absolutely. I mean, I so a lot going on today on this Friday snowy very cold Friday and marching Greco will join us at five thirty. But the bears. Do have Ainu kicker you heard that right? The kicking derby as already started. They have not. Got rid of Cody parkey as of yet. That make any sense for them to release him. Now, my guess is they would be some financial benefit if they were last released him after June one guess now this new kicker may or may not make it through training camp or even to training camp. But it is a signing today. Field Yates had this. I saw some other sites have a to Nick folk. Josh Gable Redford Jones or Nesta Lacayo. Austin mcginnis in Blair Walsh. Hear those names. You do recognize we're all brought in to Halas hall today. And at the end of the day a chef de did report as did his agency. The bears have signed Redford Jones out of Tulsa good to a contract him in. Ironically, would this be I would this be coincidence. Coincidence, this is it's almost always coincidence. If this is an irony when is it are, you call it, whatever. Is when you have a spoon and all you need is a knife. Now, that's not Eragny the expression of one's meaning by using language normally signifies the opposite typically for humorous from fabric affect it's like rain on your wedding day. All right, Alanis. But again, like Cody Parke's last miss was the double Winker, many people have found the highlight back in college from new bears kicker Redford Jones, double thinking it. Now, the only differences, and this is a big difference. He doubled joint it through stop hitting the upright. It went off one upright went to the other upright. And then went through. It was good. That's not floating my boat. It's his yeah. I know that there was a minor celebration earlier when you guys discussed this upon us. I could hear the the approval in your voices stop hitting the upright. It looks like it was only from twenty two yards. Right from twenty two. That's the other scary part to all of this. Look, look laughter's the best Madison. Right. We're still not over it. We're still not over the double dunker rue. We may never be over. Karoo? But I mean, I listen we've asked them to bring in young kickers and make them try out. This is step one. So I applaud them bringing bringing another guy tomorrow bringing another guy until you've got Allen. Let's let's do a round, Robin. Sixty four kicker off. I want to do that. Version of March madness. Yeah. I. Just put them all through a process of competition and sign the one for the regular season that's been most impressive, and you can rely on most. I would he's going to be one of a few. We're going to be through house to compete, of course. And you remember the draft is gonna come up, and I'm not an advocate of drafting a kicker, but there may be teams that do draft to kick. Her like butter was drafted Jake Elliott was drafted. They were both released and were picked up on waivers or off a practice. Just allow the draft to come and go maybe sign one is a free agents. If someone drafts that kicker keep an eye on him. And wait to see what happens in the preseason. Just be open to signing a bunch of young guys at least they didn't sign Blair Walsh. I'm not gonna lie. I was or Scott Norwood. They don't sign guys who have already missed a big kick and lost their team a playoff game. Like, I don't know why they may be fine. They may get right. But for some reason, it's like the golf Yip's or something. I don't want my kids to have a big miss on his resume. If you want to win three one two three three two three seven seven six pairs of the Pro Bowl, two o'clock Sunday ABC you will see seven bears play. We talked to Dan Wieder earlier today. He thinks a good a good back could be to recon to win the MVP something that he's thinking about at least and he talked to them today. So it will be it's still so bear stuff with no true football game this weekend. There is the Pro Bowl. I did want to tell you this though, Meller just mentioned golf in an indirect way Tiger Woods has made the cut in his first tournament of the two thousand and nineteen season. He did not have a great day today. Another two hundred parties. Four under and the leader is currently fourteen under four under. I mean, it's scary. Tiger update. You know? I know it's January but the season the two thousand nineteen tiger wood season is underway. This his Torrey Pines, Torrey Pines, okay? We have a lot all the football prop at seemed to be released last night last night is where I guess in Vegas. You can line up and get it on prop. That's a douse got like a look, and I want to get to some of these here early. I wanted to share this with you, Michael David Smith. I do believe he lives in Chicago too. He worked for pro football talk. He said he tweeted this out today. If you divide. Tom Brady's career into careers. Pre two thousand eight knee injury and post knee injury. Both careers are hall of fame worthy. Okay. So let's say Tom Brady played from the beginning of his career and his career ended when his knee got hurt and he didn't play in that year where they went eleven and five but did not make the ploughs listen to this premium injury. Here are some of his stats four Super Bowls three rings to Super Bowl MVP's one regular season. MVP that's all before the knee injury since the two thousand eight knee injury five Super Bowls. He'll have either two or three rings depending on what happens a week from Sunday. He'll have two or three Super Bowl MVP's and he has two regular season. MVP's? Can I say to you though, there has been a distinct difference in the post? Knee surgery. Tom Brady where I believe individually. He's been a significantly better player. Whereas in the first band before the knee injury out the anomaly here is is the year before he got hurt two thousand seven that was the perfect season fifty touchdowns eight interceptions had a quarterback rating of one seventeen and they lost the giants in the Super Bowl could be the best patriots team of the mall. Karamay didn't get a title. But if you look at his numbers prior to that in the one two three four five six seasons prior. He never threw for thirty touchdown passes. And he always through a minimum of twelve interceptions. So he was twenty or he was eighteen and twelve twenty eight and fourteen twenty three and twelve twenty eight and fourteen twenty six and fourteen twenty four and twelve he was about a two to one touchdown to interception guy. He never had a quarterback rating over ninety three until that fifty. Touchdown season. So he basically had this unbelievable renaissance at thirty at yes. And then when he came back in two thousand and nine that's when his individual performances became even more spectacular. He was more a part of the process and the first goal how many interceptions does Tom Brady have totals one hundred seventy nine. I bet you. It's like is it less than thirty. Oh, no, no, no no much because he had some seasons where he only two interceptions than D since. Oh nine when he came back at thirteen four twelve eight eleven nine seven to eight eleven. Okay. So I mean, fellas. Oh, it's incredible. Throne for for thirty touchdowns or more in one two three four five six of those seasons. Yeah. Yeah. So I mean, yeah, I look both stretches of his career very impressive. But I'm telling you he got better as he got older individually. It's I mean Marie. He's throwing for five hundred and seventeen touchdowns in his regular season career and one hundred seventy one interceptions. Pretty cool. So we'll be all things Super Bowl starting on. Mondays we enter Super Bowl week and more squares giveaway in the four o'clock hour, boys. What do we have as far as the prophets are concerned? I've never seen a booklet. So as you mentioned Tom Brady. So these opened at six fifty nine Vegas time yesterday. All right. And the first to limit bets were placed the most you can bet on these in Vegas or two thousand dollars the NFL then worried about having it fixed. If only the largest because.

"By example, we are waiting. So you see time for the saints to move on from this miscall begun choice. I mean, what are they gonna do? I mean the last couple us. What's happened to them Minneapolis miracle where they lose on a hail Mary to a deep out this safety is there before the play decides, I don't wanna be pass interference. And they lose that game. Prevent them from going to NFC championship in Philadelphia Phillies up winning the Super Bowl. And then this year a blatant pass interference at home critical point in the game was at the biggest call in the game. Yes. Abso. It was the biggest call and I believe because on Peyton and what happened I believe it affected him. What he did afterwards? Because I still believe mentally. He was still on that play trying to get the referee's attention trying to get them to look. So I believe it mostly he hadn't moved on from it. I believe it affected them. What they did after they overtime. You're talking on the plate on over absolute every place from that play. I was affected and he would not let it go as a team organization. What do they gain? What do you gain? Would you want some announcement by Roger today? What is that going to hell question? What do they want? Roger Goodell knowledge is an acknowledged that it had been acknowledged. But it hasn't officially been knowledge by the league. That's what he's talking about been wanting wants the league to come out and say, we blew the call the referees already. Renton call the lead office. Listen, they won't what similar what happened. If you guys. Remember, there's another playoff game decided by a blown pass interference. Call giants. Forty Niners everyone talks about the bad snap. This was back in two thousand two you remember that there's a bad snap by the giants long, snapper. Poor guy got pulled out of retirement for days before the game because they wanted to be the long snapper, and then he has this huge gaffe, and they it's a bad snap. They throw the ball deep downfield. The guy gets tackled and the league next day said it should have been to pass interference. You shoulda gotten another chance of feel our bed. My guess is the reason he hasn't said anything because this has gotten too weird places. You've got members of the US house Representative from Louisiana saying we wanna call Goodell in to testify you have people threatening to sue like. So I'm sure there's lawyers saying we shouldn't say anything right now. But enough like listen, what happened here is the referee had a one in one hundred awful moment. This is no different than to me would Renzo Vikings fan. Wanting to sue Blair Walsh. When he had a one in one hundred awful moment missing a twenty six yard field goal to win a playoff game. This happens. I feel terribly for the saints that had happened. It didn't in my opinion decide the game in this way. They had opportunities after that way went to eight again. Okay. So it wasn't last play of the game may could have stopped them on defense in regulation. They didn't they won the they won the coin toss in overtime. They could've not thrown interception to stop to start overtime. They had opportunities. And I obviously at issue their plate going on first down on that Dr set that aside this happens man, I feel badly for the people of New Orleans. Drew brees. It's the legacy change. I get all that. But with human beings in pro sports guys are going to screw up. And I don't understand why we hold the the referees to a standard of you cannot make an egregious mistake. When. We are watching football players who every week. There's someone that makes an egregious mistake. We're not saying, no, maybe it's because those guys can be cut in the referees. We feel like don't get penalized. I'm not certain. But this happens it'll happen probably again in ten or fifteen. It happens from conversation standpoints far as what the league did why they didn't make a formal announcement..

"Three three two three seven seven six. George mccaskey talked a lot about potentially signing Kareem hunt who right now is not eligible to sign with an NFL team. And if he is reinstated off the Commissioner's exempt list, he then will probably face a lengthy suspension as they investigate what went on that night net Cleveland hotel where he was renting an apartment, and we'll find out the the whole thing. But it appears several teams are interested at least in exploring it, Andy and Lakeview your first anti welcomed. ESPN thousands of Catholic company cap. I don't consider myself a a radio. Caller by you, bring it out of me. I. A few different things. First of all, I think your your comment about what domestic violence counselors say about second chances can be disregarded. I mean, they have to say that the validate their entire profession next. I want to say that this whole idea about second chances. It's just such a tired platitude. That's something. We all just say that. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Of course, he doesn't affect Jabber deserves a second chance. But we just keep saying this. But I don't think that we're really thinking about why that is the case why somebody does deserve a second chance when they do something like this. And Finally, I just want to say with wilpon that is the most ridiculous comment. I've ever heard asking. Asking somebody of any class or or any sort of characteristic identification just somehow represent the opinion of everybody from that class. Just makes no sense to me. I just find it to be incredibly uninformed and unintelligent thing to say appreciate your opinion. Man. Thank you for calling. I'm glad we got you to pick up the phone and call the show. Thanks a lot. Thank you see about three one two three three two three seven seven six. Josh is in Joliet. And he joins us next on ESPN one thousand Josh good morning. Welcome. Good morning, sir. Burstein call longtime listener, thanks. It took me about two or three years to be able to have conversations about to have. But I was a victim of domestic violence or my significant other for quite a few years. And now, I help others who go through that from the male perspective of. I was. Gone through that having done all that. I say that cream deserves a second chance do p goes to the recovery program. And does what he said he's going to do it. You can't let somebody's bad decision determined their entire life and their entire outcome. So going through like you went through you have a unique perspective that many of us cannot speak to do you understand the other side where people say absolutely not he did something I saw it. And he should never ever be in the NFL again. Yes, I believe that from their perspective, and every entitled to their opinion over being through it. I understand from this perspective of it that you have to allow people to be able to recover whether he signed with the bears of the saints or the Cleveland Browns or the raiders have. Maybe he deserves an opportunity to be able to continue his profession. My significant other didn't lose their job. Because of what they did my significant other didn't spend any jail time, but they still were able to continue their professional long because they don't believe it should verify or justify losing your job and never being able to work again did your significant other go through counselling. Yeah. They went through about a year and a half to counselling before we were able to even talk again. So in terms of that counseling because I don't know exactly what it is. I keep hearing that. It's I spoke to someone who said to me, let me just tell you something. It is intense. It is demanding. And if you don't meet what the standards are in that counseling. You're not getting a second chance they won't sign off on it. What does that mean when they go through this type of counseling because a lot of people who are uninformed like me feel like yeah. They'll say, I'm not gonna do it again. But they don't take the steps to make sure they don't do it again. It is it is very intense. I went through it and followed along as the person went through the counseling and saw the classes, and I went to a couple of not with that person. But with so with see what they were going through. And it tends to the good work. They make sure that they understand that. This is not okay. This is not acceptable under any name you to put your hands on another person anger manner. Like that. So in the very very good work. And they're right. If you missed more than two or three classes in that here. I think was the first class second one with the big three months. They don't allow you to come back. They don't let you sign up saying that you're okay to be able to get you on. So if he is willing to do that, then it seems like what you said earlier than he had already started that before the beginning of the season. That's a good process to recovery. It shows that cream is willing to put forth the effort to be able to become a successful citizen. And hopefully in the future is accessible NFL player. Josh thank you for being so honest with us. Thanks again. Thank you have a good one. There you go three one two three three two three seven seven six. So from Josh who was a victim of domestic violence from a significant other who says he should get a second chance. Ryan downers grove doesn't believe he gets a second chance here in Chicago. Hey, Ryan, welcome to the show, buddy. Hey, guys. Good morning. I, you know, I I kinda I think about this two different ways, you know, the weight from I think actually you made a really good point. When he got her all the Chapman, you know, might not if not now, you know, win, but at the same time good, you really say cream on second chance started. When Andy Reid said, if you're lying to me, I'm going to cut you ten months to say. Yeah. You know, what I did do to come clean to do something you wait until a video came out to say. Oh, yeah. I did do more. I'm not saying the guy to deserve a second chance. But you know, you made a big point of saying Ray McDonald has gone Brandon Marshall is gone. We have cleaned up the attitude in this locker room. We have made a difference. You really wanna say, hey, we're going to bring this guy in he's not even gonna play until ten games in. I just I don't know if I would want to mess with that right now, especially when you could either address the guy in the third round, you could sign someone else with no history of doing this. I don't know. I'm not saying the guy deserve a second chance. I guess I'm just playing devil's advocate and saying could be something you could look at that way. Thanks have a good day. All right. Thanks again. Ryan appreciate it have a good weekend. But stay warm. I'll let's go to Danny with some. We don't have breaking news sound or do we just did it can you do about to report? Report is reporting the other kickers in the bears workout this morning are veteran Blair Walsh. Thank you. Austin mcginnis who was in the bears minicamp last year. Thanks, so they've got three that they're working on so far. Correct. And Schefter said they were going to bring sixty seven. There you go. So so the Blair wall stuff from a few weeks ago had a modem of truth to it. Modem? He hasn't signed with them. But he is coming into kick with them. At Blair washed when he was in Minnesota until he missed like a twenty one yarder with a playoff game. Blair Walsh, was considered one of the really good kickers in the league. So who knows he Blair Walston kicking eighteen did he no it's another guy? Last year. I can't we get a kicker that kicked last year. Well, those guys aren't eligible to come in and kick for you. Unless they were caught in the middle of the season. I know somebody that could kick kick last year who Tony Parker. Maybe Cody Parker is the answer. Do you think they have Cody Parker? They're kicking with them. No, no shot. Listen kid. We gave we got nine million dollars. Coming your way, you better be here today. And we got it today for you today. You're going to be kicking bright here with these guys. Tony Parker do today show today. Here's your today show right here. Three one two three three two three seven seven six. It's go back to the phones. And let's go to Albert downtown. Albert, good morning. How are you? My friend. I'm blessed. Good morning. How are you doing? I'm good, man. Yeah. It's it's just unfortunate. We will. We wouldn't even they society where you have these people that team that down the moral high ground, and when you're going through the closet. None of such, you know, and the people that always advocated that you people have issues in the allies. And once to understand is that the background of everyone is different. And everyone people who have not committed a crime right now individual doing it because of something. And what thing we must understand is that this. Twenty years old. He's a kid twenty years old. We and yes, we we added. And this kid is looking at fort through said, okay. We'll be where one violent India, India marriage what point in their lives. But this is an opportunity for him to get it. Right. And here you have people on the more. I think you jealous of in making money period. Let can I define that? This kid has to be books. Right. And given the opportunity again to do good in his craft. It does. It does. Then that's fine. Vilify the kid, you know. Albert, thanks, man. Appreciate your opinion. All right. All right to see. But stay warm three one two three three two three seven seven six c cap. And I have to voice the other side of that is nobody's saying he doesn't deserve a second chance. It's just do you want him playing for the team you root for that's the question here because we all agree. I think that he deserves a second chance. Absolutely. Especially at life. Yeah. No one saying he shouldn't have a second chance at life. That's not even a part of this conversation. But do you as a Chicago Bears fan wants to route four Kareem hunt? Do you want him on your team? Two points. A really perplexing tough. You know, it's the same thing with us and Russell, right. If you're a cubs fan. Do you want Addy Russell act shortstop next year? But let me ask you a question. Do you believe what Kareem hunt it, and you watch the video is worse. The same thing as what Addison Russell dead or when Addison Russell did. So far more horrific where it sounds like everything I've read get I've never talked to his wife, Melissa or ex-wife. It sounds like she was in this nightmare on a regular basis. Where the Kareem hunt was more. Someone tweeted me more of an anger management, perhaps an alcohol management thing horrific as it was. The same. I'll make it easy domestic violence is domestic violence and a story. But there is no saying one is better than the other. Or this is this domestic violence. Oh. Girl, or is it just assault. No. It's domestic violence. That's it. And a story. I don't know if that's accurate. I don't know if that's an accurate statement. I don't know if it's it's right or wrong. Like, I don't think you can say it's accurate or not accurate. It just there is no level, right? Like, there's no like Defcon level that you go through to justify the reaction based on what took place. It just it is what it is. Three one two three three two three seven seven six. And I'm like we're so far away from week one. But they're still three games. All right, Hank. Go ahead. Go ahead. My whose back is Blake Griffin is in the running for Blake of the year. It's a two man race Blake Griffin. So on Saturday afternoon. He went back to LA first time back in LA to play the clippers as a piston. He's in warm ups. Steve bomber wants wants to go and say Hello to Blake wants to be all fucking nice. You know, Blake. I'm sorry. Every you know, your banner your jersey, the rafters than trade, you three months later. He goes to give them a handshake Blake runs right by them. Because guess what? We don't care for you. He seems like an all time sweat guy. Yeah. Like him and Jerry Kane. He should just rock a towel over time. Yeah. All right. My other who's back. I don't wanna talk about it because it happened on Friday after our show but Cody park on good Morning, America. Fucking ridiculous. Great. I thought it was great. Like, he first of all a kicker is not who he is. It's what he does. Okay. Hemp some slack. We feel bad for kickers in this capacity. This is the end of our civilization, folks. Everything that we stood on for the longest time America what it was founded on not feeling bad for kickers when they fuck up. Guess what? It's over got one job to do. Yeah. Kick the ball Rex Ryan. "You and I debate on the loose football on the ground by breaking news. Freddie kitchens has been named head coach of the Cleveland Browns. He will be right here this afternoon. So there you got breaking news hot NFL chatter. We debated the loose football laying on the ground. And I was just curious before I get into some other stuff. Did you see that? Bill Belichick actually brought his team together and talked about that plane said that's why I tell you to pick every loose ball. I don't care if it's waved incomplete if they are having mass around it pick the football. Did you see that? It's still crazy talk. It's still crazy talk twenty two players on the field. None of them went after it. You're going to be hard on anyone on that play. How about the Philadelphia Eagles defense that is trained the defenses are trying to go after the football on every play and they didn't on that play. And it sat there, and they cost themselves a shot at a turnover everyone in that building thought it was an incomplete pass. Everyone. There was no reason to believe it wasn't. And so you know, we can play our hypothetical game. You can work me up again. You know, where I stand on this. Yeah, we're never going to agree on this one. And I promise you that will be the last time that ever happens because every single coach is going to say, I don't care what scenario is pick the damn ball up. And that's what's going again. You're gonna tell me that every incomplete pass next season. That's going to be twenty guys. Raced of all. When there's any kind of equipment of a boggles twenty yards question. Yes. Yes. There was. Yes. No question. There wasn't a single person in live action that fumble not a single one. I mean, if you tell me a ball sales twenty yards over someone's head. They're not gonna do that. But if there's a did he really have it? Maybe he did pick the football up. Tell me on every every incomplete pass next year. There's going to be twenty guys run into the football pretty close. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. All right. Let's let's do the math on that one Jap. Let's do the math on that one next year. Anyone that's contested? You're gonna watch you're gonna you're gonna tax me from some press box or go. I can't believe it. I got diving on the field on loose balls. Yes. Your high your high? All right. And now that we've had a few days to cool down from that really tough loss on Sunday. Do you believe that Cody parkey will be back as bears kicker? I I'm not changing my stance on this at all. I just don't know how you can justify it. If you're Ryan pace. And so when we get a chance to hear from him whether that's tomorrow or Friday up at Halas hall. That's one of the top questions on the list. What are your plans to kicker? How do you make sure that season doesn't circle the drain because of inconsistencies of a kicker and Ryan's got to figure that out. The compromise is obviously you remember Blair Walsh. Yanking met twenty seven yard field goal in the playoffs against the Seahawks. A few years ago and the Vikings tried to make it work Blair Walsh handle themselves. Well after that miss he tried to come back, and they wanted to give him the chance to write the redemption story the next season. What happened he missed four field goals and four extra points in the first nine games, and they ultimately had to cut him. Yep. And week ten and so I just don't understand why you would force the issue and put yourself through that. And and try to make something work that is just going to be so so so very difficult to make work. And so I think it's up to Ryan pace. To cut his losses and and figure out what's next and and get that position. Right. And and tell Cody parkey, thanks for for sticking around. But this just isn't gonna work. They've got little over twenty million dollars in salary cap room. Correct. I believe so okay. They're probably not going to bring back Dion SIMS they'll be you know, a little bit of housekeeping that will give them some opportunities. They could ask someone to restructure a deal. Do they make some impactful like, whoa. They went out and spent on who or is this now the is pretty much what you got you'll make your draft picks and sign lower price free agents. I don't see them playing in the deep end of the pool this year. Do you know, I don't I don't I don't think this is gonna be like last year was I don't think there's declaring me you don't need to go out and have to receiver like he did last year. I actually went out and signed to for some pretty good money last year. You don't have those gaping holes on the roster where you say man, this is an absolute must, you know, we need to spend big to make sure this position is solidified. If there's something there that fits what you wanna do then. Yeah. Absolutely pursue it. You don't have to be sort of handicapped them, and and, you know, restricting yourself from pursuing everything that's out there. But they're not. Desperate anymore either. And so I think Ryan pace understand that free agency is is a tough place to succeed him. You can have your hips, but there's gonna be an awful lot of MRs to go along with that. And so if you can continue to build through the draft to continue to develop guys and sign them and keep your nucleus together. Like they've done here. Then you should be in a better position to not have to make March your you're sorta splash month of the season. And you can you know, focus on the draft a little more. By the way. Adam schefter. We have breaking news. Dan. Welcome to the show. Adam Schefter is reporting. Denver reaching an agreement with bears DC Vic Fangio to become the Broncos next head coach sources, tell Schefter and Graziano. It will be a four year deal plus a team option for a fifth. Not surprised and this is now the top priority right for for the Scotto bears. Here you gotta figure out a way to get this thing stabilized, really really quickly. And that's not going to be an easy thing to do. There's playing history in this town, buddy. Ryan Ron Rivera defensive coordinator is the Super Bowl teams that left immediately following those runs and the defense is just weren't the same after that. They were still good, but they weren't the same. And so this is gonna be a big piece of the puzzle here in the in the next few weeks for them to to figure out what to do. I'm trying to remember where I was going when we came up with that breaking bit of news. What were we just talking about a completely blanked on it now? We're talking about free agency. We were talking about free agency for me. I ve already opined that I'm not I do not bring Cody parkey back under any circumstances. And whether it's Robbie goal, there's some guy working cleaning the Chicago theater right now, whoever it is. They gotta find somebody that can make kicks in pressure situations. But for me, it's a bigger concern. Who's my right tackle, the Bobby Massey? Is in fact, do I need to go. Get another tight end. Those are questions. Adrian Bryce Callahan are free agents. Those things are far more devastating. If you don't handle them, right? Far, more devastating. What the kicker. Yes. The kicker came down to his foot. But if I don't have a right tackle, I don't have a chance. I got a big sure. Whether it's Bobby Massie or somebody else. I gotta get that offensive line where I needed to be. Yeah. I don't disagree with you. I would just not minimize the priority of of making sure you get the kicker position. Right. If an absolute must, and if you didn't learn your lesson Sunday afternoon, you'll never learn your lesson. And so those are all priorities, and and you have to keep them all on the same page. I think it's really really easy to see this bear season. As a a, you know, undeniable success, a magical run to a division championship. And then zoom out and say, well, this is still a very good team with a multitude of concerns, and and the need to get better. If they want to seriously make run a Super Bowl we had Trey Burton on yesterday. And he was very open. He was very honest. He said that the groin injury. He said, I do not believe that anything to do with my anxiety. I think it was just a physical thing that locked up, and I couldn't plan I'm heartbroken by it. But he also was very open about his deals with his struggles. With anxiety said I came from a family where that was an issue. I learn more about it. When I got. To Florida, and I still have times where I have to work through it to get over some of his and he goes, but in the Super Bowl he goes I was excited to play. It wasn't a factor at all. Because I don't believe it was a factor. This time. Where are you on? Trey Burton going forward for this team. Well, I I think there's a personal discussion here and football discussion here and the football discussion centers around whether you can get this anxiety issue that he is obviously been very open about that. He has acknowledged that. He couldn't run a certain play because it it basically made his his brain freeze up and in turn his body lock up on them. And so now you have to figure out as as a team, and as an organization, how can we get this thing under control? How can we make certain that this isn't a potential derailment for a guy in in big moments? Trae was more adamant with you yesterday than he was with us on Monday saying that that he doesn't believe that anxiety contributed to the groin issue. I would tell you that there are questions inside the building had house hall on on whether they are certain of that at this point that that because of the way this injury popped up because of the way there was no sort of pinpoint moment that it can be traced back to that. There is some some question on whether his mind. Mind sort of went to a place that it shouldn't have gone when he felt some stiffness McGrane. So these are very very serious and hard questions for Ryan pace and matinee Taft entertained, and they're gonna have to do some digging and do some research and talk to the player and figure out how this thing can be managed because you just can't put your team in a position where you get into the playoffs and one of your key weapons at offense isn't available to you in the biggest moments right in the in the biggest game of the year or whether that's injury related, whether it's anxiety related, whatever it is you need to take a measurement and assessment of his availability and reliability and a difficult sort of question to figure out and that's up to those guys up there to to find the right answer. The grade you'd give Mitchell Trubisky at the end of this like how would you develop? Okay, man. Here's where I am on Mitch. He did this this and this, but he didn't do that. Where are you on Mitchell? Now going forward. Yeah. I you know, I I would probably give him a b minus for two thousand eighteen I didn't love his performance Sunday afternoon. I love the resiliency showed us to be able to bounce back and put together the fourth quarter that he put together. And so those are two things that you kind of have to to way you put on the scale and figure out which ones tipping yet one direction or the other. I think it's terrific news for the bears that the the season did not end with Mitch Trubisky. Interception. Right. Because you know, where this off. The narrative and the pressure and everything else permits to step up in that big moment and lead them down. The field is certainly a positive, and I think one of the things that mitt show me throughout the year. If he had a few games we didn't play all that well early, but he was able to write himself late..

"That six thirty stems countdown to tip off. Real quick finish up talking kicking. Johnson Palo Alto and wants to weigh in high. John welcome. Hey, guys, a Tommy John. How you guys doing? Pretty funny story about twenty years ago. I went to Oregon SC dock. We lost on a last second. Field goal is kid. Joshua smith. Missed a thirty seven yard or ended up in Dover in. As time expired at the Coliseum three yards short there with my son. Oldest boy. To kind of bummed about that. But fast forward to sense given. We're driving home up until I got all three boys who stop and go to the bookstore. Cup of green and yellow rubberized football, my wife, and I go let's go out and see if options open. The open. Sure enough the gates there. It's before they redid it. I head out to the field. I okay, boys. This is for the win IT it up from forty some thirty which is forty yard or. Took me ten tries. Tommy got to on the ten point. My boys still talk about it. A long ways. If I tried that today I'd be like sea bass, it'd be rolling around with my hairy. Forget it forget it. So it'd be done. You're absolutely right. It's just one of those things. Like, I got that. Look how close that is that when you get out there. I made the analogy it's like the high dive, the high dive doesn't look very high into your like standing on. I'd I'd be like oh crap that water looks like a long ways away. Same for the goalposts. Absolutely. Share man. Thanks guy. The phone call. Now, he's one hundred percent, right. It's one of those things in sports. There's a number of them where there's certain things you just no you cannot do. Right. You could most of it. There's very few of us who thinks we could get in the box and hit one hundred or quarterback a team. We're like, but for some reason, there are certain things people think that, you know, well with a few more days of practice. I could you know, go for the best kicking is one thing that people think they can do. It's it's not easy. I'm not saying, it's, you know, maybe get in the box and facing one hundred and then the guy with a nasty slider. Maybe it's not that. But it's damn hard in one thing. You can't recreate even if you do go get a rubberized ball and kick it ten times you're in a playoff game with dudes and began the ball was tipped. But there's a tremendous amount of pressure. And then he made the first one they called the time out to ice in which it worked in. So you sit around for another minute like damn if I miss this. That's where I think most people would fail. I think people get. Could practice enough to kick? But we've seen kickers going to just massive Blair Walsh. Like. Walk out there. Most people would as Peter King would say crap their pants. The interesting thing about freezing the kicker is in college. It's easier to do it because you can call multiple timeouts in the NFL. You can't call timeouts back to back or it's personal foul. I didn't even know that role until about ten years ago in Joe Gibbs came back. He didn't know the rule that he's a head coach he should know that ROY I am a fan. And so at the end of the game gives tried to freeze guy twice. It went from fifty three or thirty eight hundred field goal you lose. Oops. Somebody probably have told him into NASCAR to you. Can't do it twice in a row, but like in college if you have all three of them, you can call it call it. And then you may think going gonna call it, and we not going to call it in the NFL. Once you call it. It's over you have is free swing at it. But in. Would I also think they should do in the NFL is it's a five yard penalty. If you take a free swinging after they've called the timeout, everyone does it. Hey, kid kick in. We're good to go just one. He did it he made it. And then he missed the next one. I thought we got this one. Now, I think he would have made the next one to if it was the same as the first one, but. Forty-three three you probably should get it up higher than I'd have to go back and look at it again, though. I mean was it a really good play was a hand up higher. The normal was with a lower kick the normal. I don't know. But. I would I would assume those things are probably about fifty fifty. You know, what you call it in a guy called mischief? I know then he makes the next when you're like dole. What am I doing I should've slept? But I don't know how I would play it. I don't know. Maybe it got good field because they can't possibly have. A. Achieve for that. Can they give numbers like they again? That's gotta be like just luck of the draw. Sometimes you make them. You missed it. Sometimes you miss both of them. Maybe you make both of them. I can't imagine. It's that big of a deal freezing the kicker, but you look like a genius. When you make the first one you missed the second one's like. Ooh, it's been they've got it. Right. It's happened the other way around. Yeah. Missed one. And then he may makes it then lab. What do they do? What did? I do. I grew up. Dang it. So who knows? But I can't imagine. Like, I said don't college. I would call one for sure. But then you'd have to guess whether I'm going to call the next one or not. Can you could you could do that in college NFL again? Once you went to call the first time outs over there already know that you can't call while much. Joe gibbs. You can't call another timeout. This time. Paid off for Mr. Peterson the damn eagles continue flying eagles fly. I actually I actually liked. I don't mind seeing the eagles. I just like the eagles again. But I like seeing Zach do. Oh, yeah. I know. I don't know. But I've met him a doctor a little bit. So do. By the way, I'm looking at Parke's numbers for the regular season. Yeah. Four forty to forty nine yards for the year. He was only sixty nine point two percent. Which is twenty eighth in the league sl good. Any good at all. There were eight kickers who did not miss a field goal forty to forty nine yards. How many of those were indoors? Goals indoors. I'm sorry. You should be held a different standard indoors. There's only one guy Matt Brian didn't it's it was the indoor guy. Randy Bullock, Cincinnati McManus Denver again, he gets a lot.

"I am certain that they probably have someone in the building that that helps with these kinds of things like sports psychologist. It's become a real big thing. Most team seemingly have them these days. It's a curious case of Trey Burton is definitely curious in how the whole thing came together on Saturday and Sunday. Now the Friday night in the Saturday crunch time a beer you mentioned kicking. What will they do about the kicking position? Man. I you know, I said it multiple times yesterday. I just don't know. How you stay down this path. Right. I I just don't know how it's fair to anyone in your locker room in your building to the kicker himself to the fans in Chicago to stay on this path because it's just not something that you can justify in the long run. I if Cody parkey has a long run of made kicks the first MRI has next year. We'll be treated like ten MRs. Right. It's just the nature of the beast. When you miss a kick this big you've seen it in the past. You know, the Vikings a few years ago. Had Blair Walsh missed that chip shot in the playoffs, and they tried to keep them around and try to get them. Right. And and the kid handled everything so gracefully and came back and work through training camp. Well, ultimately, every time he missed the kick the pressure went up the anxiety went up to the the intensity went up, and they had to cut him loose and send him out the door. And so I if I'm Ryan pace, I I think you just have to move on. And you just have to cut your losses and say this just didn't work, and we're going to have to try another thing to get this squared away. But I just. I just it's just hard to envision going into a two thousand nineteen season that should have serious serious Super Bowl hopes attached to it with the kicker that you have no idea if you can trust and big moment when you do that. And you're gonna eat that money for a kicker on your cap. You've gotta go cheap. Then don't you? You have to find a row says you have to find a Jake Elliott. I mean, you can't sign Robbie Golder or what's the other kid from New England Gostkowski, right? I mean, there's no way they can commit that kind of salary cap space to a to the keeping position. I don't think so. But again, if you're desperate, desperate, right? And we'll see where it goes. Remember, the bears originally found Robbie gold sort of on the street. He was the guy that cut by New England. So so you can find guys you just have to find the right guy. And as we said kicker hasn't been a strong point for the bears. They haven't evaluated them well since they cut Robbie gold loose, and they haven't been able to fix it and Sunday at it costs them in the worst possible way. And and so you know, you talking about the salary. Well, you know, two thousand eighteen over. Salary's gone. I think it's three point five million for next year. It's really just a it's a sunk cost. Right. So you eat it. You find somebody that that gives you a better opportunity to win a championship, and that's the bottom line. And then so you got to figure out what that means if they had to pay one on the defense is it Callahan are Amos. Yeah. I think they can pay them both. Honestly, I if it's a tough call I think that Bryce is a great fit for what Vick asks them to do. And so you know, you sort of have to let that domino fall. I and figure out you know, if if the coordinator, well, then he's a priority for me. I I I like the way he works as a nickel in Vic system if a new coordinator comes in and has has some different priorities for that position. Well, then you have to reassess their I I would probably put him on a hair above Adrian in that pecking order, I think they could probably go out in the middle late part of the draft and find another safety, but hey, those are good questions to have. Because when the other ten guys on the defense. I think we just lost an Wieder. Phone just crapped out I thought it was my earphones. No, we'll try to get Dan back for another minutes. We can finish that thought. But there is Dan Wieder from the Chicago Tribune cell phone side. You're gonna swayed happened. There's some deep advanced analytics stuff, we're not that deep actually ESPN analytics your guy the bears had their second worst pass blocking game of the season in their playoff loss against the eagles. A bad time for that to happen. Posting a pass block win rate of thirty five percent well below their regular season average of fifty eight percent who was the worst Kyle long. Unfortunately, it was the weakest link on Sunday, particularly struggle. When facing Michael Bennett, I told you Michael Bennett did have a good game. Yeah. Real good game. No matter who was working against long posted a seventy nine percent PB WR during the regular season about league average for a guard. But he mistake games because of injury his replacement in that span. Brian Whitman posted strong eighty eight percent. PB WR. This Whitman did not play on offense Sunday PB WR's in ESPN metric powered by NFL next gen stats. We've got a measure that and that again is the up. Pass block win rates. So you know, they had like a few things where it was the worst. Or one of the worst games of the season for the bears, and they were still right there in a position to win largely because you you you were at home you outgained your opponent annual plus two in differential, it's almost impossible to lose a playoff game like that. And they held the opposing team less than a fewer than fifty yards rushing. And they still lost that punch to the gut. Tell you a Wieder back just finishing up that thought, Dan, go ahead. You're finishing up the thought about Amos and Kellyanne. Yeah. I said, I if it were me, I would I would be prioritizing Bryce a little bit ahead of Adrian. But it's a good problem to have because the other ten guys that was a key components of that defense are all under contracts between nineteen and beyond. And all of a sudden you've got a special defense. It's got its nucleus together. And and really this group should be okay. There's something wrong with that identity. Well, we'll talk. What is going on rampart? One start lactated ringers. We I hope we can phones out of a means going to join us at the bottom of the hour. His phone. Readers. Costs on my God. Oh, all right. Maybe we should get some papers. The papers the papers the papers actually bought a times the other day, Ricky, no kidding Sunday morning. You folded up the hand pages, you're your that's when it was one hundred and fifty pages. Now you walk around having an umbrella day, it's gonna rain rain. You just walk around and say you remember back in the day prop. How thick the Sunday paper was thick. I'll bring up bring a Sunday paper. I have some times from nineteen ninety four four hundred men. We could take pictures we'll send it to Darren rebel, and he'll start chocolate you probably well the Sunday paper used to look like compared to what God. Well, everything was in there. "Forty five CMB make a small correction when I was thinking about my. Bad bad gay management actually against Seattle. Dallas pardon me. Oh, okay. Yeah. I just wanted to make sure I got that up. Whatever twenty-fifty I'll tell you what. Rough rough rough go for the Chicago Bears that is as bad as it gets. And I understand people being angry at Cody parkey and booing them off the field, and that's going to happen. I my biggest issue is what the vaunted bears defense that. Let you go right down the freaking field right down the field on you and score a touchdown. And yeah, I know that they got the ball. What are the two forty something? Like that. Bom bom. Within three plays. I tell you what magic for real. Peter's against MAC, even at this age events as he's still doing it used to be buffalo Bill. Between the son of a gun watching Jason Peters via basic. I mean it brought a lotta PTSD going on for bills fans last night. The one thing I was just so happy. Is it just wasn't me. We talk about sometimes need a little a whole on your team so to speak. That's Jason Peter. And I don't mean that every he went to party and thanked him as he's going on field. I thought about this is like how much society I feel like has changed over the last few years or so much more like respectful of people's feelings. When Scott Norwood hit that miss that field. I know it was the Super Bowl is a little bit different. Don't him. I mean, no actually bills fans have lost boarded on. But I feel like maybe just not Scott, but other people who have missed kicks. I feel like when Blair Walsh missed that kick. And I know it was closer like twenty points. Yeah. The chip John. But I feel like we've come to a place our people like listen, don't you kick him that a park you like, you know, he's human and everyone else should have done their job parkey. Here's the thing. He still didn't do his job. Do you can also blame the bears defense, and you can babe Trubisky or you can put it wasn't even it wasn't even having to get into field goal range. It was score a touchdown and to force down. Force down. It's tough. It's tough to stand up and blow your neck there. But when you look at the defense player, I'm looking I was able to do was put a fifteen points, bro. Like, I'm the I mean the goal for any defenses to hold you to fifteen point meets a seventeen points is like the goal on the board. Both teams hit their goal. It's amazing that you would all offense. And then we'll see if it's tested this week defense is is going to decide who's going to be able to go to the Super Bowl at listen. I'm sorry. By playwright now, five plays to get from the forty five to the thirteenth place. That's not what great defenses do. Yes. Tough though. When you when he is in that, desperate situation man unit. Bandeau break. You don't wanna make a mistake. And then they're super aggressive, and you put it out there with these one one place, and you always funny about the whole thing is the fact that is videos that are starting to surface steps ball that he practices. His accuracy bike hit kick in a fire. Pole of southern kicking a ball of fire. Bo maybe his mechanics has made it to the poll now, I mean, this one I think was actually tipped Ricky. "Point dog going into Los Angeles. And for whatever the reason the minute the Philadelphia Eagles went back to Nick foles. I quarterback it's like something within their team. I can't explain it. I can't pinpoint it. I am one of these guys tech could try to give you football side of the explanation. More of a simplistic offense foles China just do what he needs to do. But it goes beyond that there's like this intangible within the eagles that they just seem to play better. When foles is the quarterback. And sure enough against a pass rush that featured coil MAC. At four in a row Smith and all those top notch defenders for the Chicago Bears. The Philadelphia Eagles thin put up thirty five plus points. This was not a carbon copy of the game. We saw against Minnesota last year and a title game or the game. We saw last year in the Super Bowl against the patriots. This was far more of those grind it out. Find a way any which way possible in order to win a playoff game. That's what Philadelphia was able to do and winning this game by the score of sixteen fifteen now, obviously the last drive of the game for Chicago is going to be something that is dissected. It's going to be something that's analyzed. And I'll be the first to tell you. I hated absolutely hated the way Matt Nagy and Chicago wind about that final drive of the game. Because I just thought it was hideous. So poor Kwok management after the great kick return to get the ball, basically at the. Forty two yard line. With fifty six seconds to go. I wanna see you do a whole lot better than settling for a forty three yard field goal. I wanna see you push it there in a chip shot range forty-three feel bankable chip shop. The mistake. The bears made felt this way watching again to base who came alive in the fourth quarter. Mr. Lotto's early came alive in the fourth quarter. Hate Alan Robinson for about a twenty five yard pass. And it got it down to the thirty three yard line. At that point in time. That is where you got a clock the football. Don't burn the final time out because if you caught the football there, you still have the ability with that final time out even one lies down to do a variety of different things. Chicago could not do that. I did not like that. Final drive wants to ever. Then you get to the kick. And it's going to be one of those field goals that lives in infamy. It'll be lie or Walsh. It'll be like Scott Norwood. It'll be like Nate catering. That's just the way it works fair on the NFL. Now, I know the ball was partially tipped. But as you're watching that live, and I don't know if you guys got the same. I did I thought he hit off the upright bounced off the crossbar and went in I needed to see the count formation from one of the officials basically wave a narrow arm say, no good. No good. No good for me to say with certainty that field goal. Was a mess. And that added element of drama made it that much better. Pharrell fair. That's the way it works in sports. Sometimes. There are heroes. Goats? Cody parkey now is going to be a name that lives in Chicago in for me. That's just the way it works. Just like Norwood is in buffalo. Just like Blair Walsh is in Minnesota New York with the New York Jets. How many fans hit a named Doug Brien and makes them absolutely sick to their stomach. It's not all Cody Parke's fault that Chicago lost this game. Chicago for good majority of this game was played. Born kicker misses a makeable field goal. But the game on the line. It hurts. But you go back to the final drive that Philadelphia had Philadelphia. Dow fifteen ten Philadelphia getting the ball after Chicago ghost story and out foles zone. Forty. Money play after money play after money play. And if you're gonna look at the stat sheet, this not going to be one of those games where Nick foles wild you fool couple interceptions. Was in the ridiculous stat lines. Like we saw last year Super Bowl. But when he needed to deliver big play on third down he was able to finding Dallas guttered or alshon Jeffery. It was able to do it. And how propofol Philadelphia? That on fourteen goal with this season on the lie. And yeah, I don't understand for the life of me why matinee took long as he did a call timeouts which could have been another factor and favored a little extra time for the bears. But I digress. How apropos fourteen goal from the to golden Tate whose acquired from the Detroit Lions and eagles fans compared that move to the Amari Cooper trade, and obviously Cooper has had four more of an impact on the Cowboys. Then Tate hat on the eagles, but Tate who for his entire career going back to his days with the Seattle Seahawks has always been money player. Catches that route right to the corner of the end zone. Right place right time magic. It's really the best way to describe what the Philadelphia Eagles. When Nick foles a quarterback. It's one of those things in sports that sometimes doesn't exactly give you the logical explanation. But it's why we watch as why we love it. And now the stage is set for a giant fan's worst nightmare the eagles and the Cowboys both getting ready to play in the divisional round second weekend in the NFL ploughs. So you have all that going on with the game a Walker weekend which was eagles in the bears sixteen and fifteen eagles are moving on. Then you had in the AFC game. Basically exactly what I thought would happen at some point in time two or more Jackson lead raven team or more Jackson was great down the stretch. I'd be the first remain. The ravens would not have sniffed the postseason if it wasn't for the change and the style in which the ravens were playing. I totally acknowledge that I give the ravens a lot of props for that. It was disorder style. Where you said at some point in time somebody's gonna dare the ravens to throw it. And they're going to be in a position where they have to play from behind and will they be able to do. So the fact that. The chargers gotta work it or more Jackson and his offense couple of weeks ago. I think had an enormous impact on this game. Because all of the gimmick plays that have been working so nicely for the ravens. They were getting sniffed out every which way for the first three quarters that of skin. The ravens could not run the football or more Jackson could not complete a pass. And even though the raven defense was played their hearts out. Despite bad turnovers in poor special teams the ravens war right there in the ball game. And I love John Harbaugh. I John buzz top NFL head coach John Harbaugh. Got it completely wrong on Sunday. And I don't wanna hear about what happened in this ball game. One is a twenty point game. Who the hell cares? You had a chance maybe to roll dice. Will bet you had a chance to maybe jumpstart your offense with Joe flacco sit on the sideline and this has nothing to do with the long term future. The Baltimore Ravens. We get it or more Jackson's their quarterback. They drafted him in the first round. He's going to be the quarterback next year. No doubt about. But you're talking about an NFL playoff game. You do whatever you need to do in order to win an NFL playoff game. Jackson couldn't complete a patch. Don't you have to come to the coaching staff? We I do something else. They got that turnover down twelve and a ravens three now. Now, there was a situation. The ravens down nine to kick field goal on a four to one had. No prominent you got one of the best kickers in the history of the NFL on your sideline and Justin Tucker. You send them out there to try to make it a six point game. It was anything but pretty for the LA chargers on offense. It wasn't a great day out of Philip rivers. It wasn't a great data to running game. What they were able to do is take advantage of eliminate quarterback at this stage. And again, they defense from Elvis Ingram. Joey Bosa thorough and James was all over the place. That's where Baltimore got it wrong. Some will say you have to think about next year. No, you don't you? Do what you need to do in order to win a playoff game. John hoban. Baltimore Ravens got it wrong. And the end result is the more. Well, rounded team the better team the LA chargers. Prevailing, and it will be rivers and Brady and how much fun is that going to be Sunday one o'clock of Gillette stadium. All in all great Sunday wildcard action. We're going to spend a lot more time on this ravens chargers game. Because for the life of me. I'm still trying to figure out what John Hall ball was thinking second-half won't get into all the nitty gritty of what you're going to see next week. We'll get back to the Cowboys in the Seahawks will get back to the cold scenario. Impressive performance. But we begin with wildcards Sunday the eagles are they up to another Cinderella. Ron would foles again. Pretty sad. If you're a giant fan but eagles maybe thinking, hey, let's go shot the world for the second straight year. We got a lot more to get a railway..

"He is Mike Florio. I we now. Welcome on our good friend, father, uncle it is Mike Florio pro football, focus and again fro football come on. I know that I know Mike I want to I want. I wanna start here you're Vikings fan. No fan base has had heartbreak with field goal kickers probably more than the Vikings. Maybe the Buffalo Bills. What do I do? I don't know because when it's just wide, right. You don't have that extra agony. Where you think there's a chance still going to go through right? You had the double like moment in time. It's never gonna go away. Where you think that there was a chance it was going to go like when it just misses it misses? So I can't relate to much less a one doing I can't relate to to doing. And having it come forward when like one millimeter difference, and it would have gone through. And it would have been the greatest Bill go ever it goes from the greatest go ever potentially to the worst miss seven. So you're saying that you would rather have that than Blair Walsh, like wide ten feet. I'd rather know I'd rather know an out over with. I don't want that extra tantalizing moment that never never leaves. You. It was in. I'm Pat, but the moment never goes away that you think it's in. I. Damn. Yeah. Our second there before the refs went. No good. I was like, wait. I think that went in. I would say single doing is is pretty bad the double drink it extends. You have like a full point seven five seconds where you're not sure if it went into not at least with the door gets a rejection a stop. Okay. We'll wait, Mike. What are they what? Joe flacco raves. No, nobody cares about your black. Let's talk more about uprights. Yeah. That was tough. So do you have any words of encouragement for big cat? Like does it get better? No, it never gets better. And it never goes away. I've been telling you for the rest of your life. You will be thinking about it years from now. Okay. That's good to know. All right, Mike. Let's talk about other stuff. I don't wanna talk about this. And besides putting this interview in the middle of the episode. So I probably did all the stuff at the beginning. I actually have a question for Mike. Would you like to apologize to the rulebook for screwing it up on Twitter? When you said that the that the incomplete pass should not have been ruled an incomplete pass. Well, no, I I expect an apology Tony Karenni for not explaining a little bit better. All he said is there was no clear recovery. So it's an incomplete pass. You gotta explain that by rule in a situation like this where on replay. There's no video evidence. But clear recovery that it becomes an incomplete pass because it was a catch. How do you go from a catch to an incomplete pass because the ball ended up being on the ground as a fumble in? No one recovered if anything it should have been the bears ball spot of the fumble. That's the logical rule. He should have. Cleaned it in that moment. Don't just say, there's no clear recovery. So it's an incomplete pass. That makes no sense serious point. Don't you think that they should make one of their little points of emphasis that they love to do to tell the refs not to blow the whistle sorely on. All these fumbles like you saw in in the last game season between the Browns and the ravens you saw it in the ravens chargers game. When it could have been a fumble return for touchdown. You saw it in the bears game. Are they going to sit down with the refs? And be like, hey, let's focus on keeping the whistles out of our mouths. They got a tough balance to strike though, because they don't wanna let the play continue beyond wanted. Otherwise was over. And then somebody gets injured and in these moments, and this is one of the things that are concerned about this is why they didn't wanna make the catch rule something where there would be more catches because with more catches. There are more fumbles and there were live balls..
