But here just as just some of the equipment we left behind. 22,174 Humvees 8000 trucks 162,000 radio 16,000 n V GS 358,000 assault Right night vision goggles or left this listening 126,295 pistols. I thought they were into gun control and gun confiscation. Maybe they want to confiscate the guns so they can redistribute the guns to the Taliban. Who would have thunk it, Jim to quite a great idea. 176 artillery pieces. 64,363 machine guns, 42,000 trucks and SUVs. You know, this is this is really crazy. You have to fill out one of these big long forms to get access to an actual automatic weapon or a suppressor, not the Taliban. You give them 64,363 there A okay? No worries there 169 armored personnel carriers. 634 What is this? M m 11 17 trucks They got 33 m 17 m 17 helicopter. I can't even read this to my eyes are so bad, you agent they used to be good. Rep. Kevin McCarthy Was on Point, Criticizing Joe Biden's Foreign Policy

"Kevin McCarthy was in good form today. He was very angry today. Uh, you can't tell when Mitch McConnell's angry, Can you? I can't tell that that the guns start flapping and all the rest there. I think he's been a disaster for a long time. I really do. Here's Kevin McCarthy Cut 12 Go. We now have 5000 prisoners that were released in Afghanistan. Have more than 100 different countries of individuals coming across our southern border. Have a president that opened it up. Now is the time to close it. This country is less safe today than we were 20 years ago based upon the actions that have just taken place. Allowing Taliban to control our foreign policy. Weaponizing them reports now that they have more Blackhawks in Australia. When the aircraft to the drones to the weaponry Have more support than they had before, just from their own military build up of the weapons that they have taken from America. Now a border that is open and the fear of what the future holds. This has all got to change. The president is he has to change his foreign policy as well.

We Have to Accept That the Afghan Military Lost

"Bring up the idea of the song cost and how that's the one commonality every time we see a loss, material loss financial loss. Economic loss because it applies here, too. It had been 20 years. Clearly the Afghan population, not stereotyping. Everyone there. I don't do that. It's unfair to them. But the Afghan population writ large was not embracing democracy. They just weren't The way we needed them to the Afghan army, although many fought valiantly, largely largely did not. When the time came right for them to defend the country. They didn't That's not to knock him. Many fought and died. They had a lot of casualties and a lot of deaths. But the sad reality is the Army lost. Are we not going to accept that? Are we going to gloss past that? We're just gonna pretend it didn't happen so we can give the American people a a A pseudo rosy assessment of what's really going on. No, No, they fought Bray. Okay, point taken, they lost. That's a fact. That's a sunk cost. They lost surrendered equipment surrendered weapons surrendered Blackhawks the Taliban as an air force. How competent is we'll only find out in the coming weeks Sadly. They lost. I'm not questioning anybody's brave. I don't know. Well, every single Afghan military officer to be able to gauge your individual bravery. I'm telling you the truth because you deserve it. They lost This was the son cost. How long are we going to be there? Bring this up because Donald Trump had an interesting interview last night with Sean Hannity. Where he brought up. The very idea of retribution and revenge is the strategy the same concept Michael Anton brings up in this piece, and I think it's time we re evaluate that a concept completely

"The Blackhawks lost one of their legends. The numbers retired. He's in the Hall of Fame. Do you know that Tony Esposito's last season? Was 1984? He still 10th all time in goalie winds in NHL history? Tonio is one of only 13 players in the history of the league to ever have at least 400 victories here. He was a trend center. He was one of the early pioneers of the butterfly style of goaltending, which is pretty. I mean, that's not pretty. I mean, is ubiquitous throughout the league today. I mean, the only way really goalies play. I guess. Some would argue that there is a It's a little bit of a hybrid. Maybe now more than seven. Um, but I mean, he was one of the early sort of pioneers of of that whole thing in that entire style where you got away from the stand up gold and you started. They started playing in the butterfly. "blackhawks." Discussed on 31 Thoughts: The Podcast

"Clip from the from the closing press conference at the islanders lost the tampa bay lightning game seven mathew barzal with brock nelson At the podium really trying to keep it together and fighting back his emotions as best as he could never referencing veterans. Like andy greene see. I'm always interested in hearing young people talk about a stanley cup. Experience and older players talk about her stanley cup. Experience and the older players tend to generally cherish it more knowing how much it takes to get there and how long it takes and younger players. And we're talking to brad marchand hockey night in canada radio once After his bruins had won the stanley cup in two thousand eleven and it very much felt like in his voice in his mind. He thought well we're gonna win like three or four more of these things and he still still chasing it. Hearing mathew barzal talk the way that he did already at the age of twenty four is young guy he understands how getting there is really hard and he's been close a couple of times and listen to his voice in how he talks. You almost get the sense that he's wondering and my ever going to get this close again. What did you think of ourselves presser. You asked if he was coming of age. I don't know if i agree with that. I think it's just who he is. I think he really cares. Oh for sure this whole thing. You know you battle with your coach. Sometimes you know trotz has battled to get more out of them barzal. I'm sure his battle with trotz before it doesn't mean they both don't care or they don't have the best in mind for each other. It just means that trotz has enormous belief in what barzal can become and sometimes like a father with a son you have to discipline them in ways to make them get to that next level brazil to me. I loved watching him. These playoffs he competed. I never questioned his competitive ability or willingness to compete. I think there were times where he was so creative. The other honors in the ice didn't know what to do with it. And i think that's kind of what happened. Is i saw a lot of times. That teams against him tried to take away his passing options like he went in and he'd make a great entry or recreate some room and then it was almost like they said. You think you're passing anyone else. You're not passing the anyone else. And one of the things. People have told barzal as he has to be more selfish because people see that they see. He's a pass first guy and as a result if you take away his options sometimes. He's not as dangerous. But i think he's worked hard to improve all of that. I thought he competed a ton. Oy and i saw a guy who was devastated in the moment. So i don't think he mature that answer shows a maturity or anything like that. I just think it shows how much he cares whether we ever doubt that. Barzal wants to be an islanders proud to be nylander. He clearly really loves his teammates that he went out of his way to talk about guys. Like josh bailey. And andy greene. Who might never get this chance again like to me. It's not about him. It's about the group and I mean the way he played showed me how much he cared. And i'm sure he's going to be thinking about that one that hopped over his stick killer And that's that's tough. It's not your fault it's nothing you did but it just sits with you. Yeah ice man. I really you look at it and you say it's it's late night period and that's ice. That's not you know. I really thought after game five. If the islanders god through the first twenty minutes relatively unscathed they were going to win. The game and i just remembered the intermission thinking at the first remission thinking. The islanders are going to win this and of course. They gave up the shorthanded goal and and they lost. But i i gotta tell you. There was a time after one period. I said that's exactly what the allders needed. And they're going to win this game. And and i think know that even though they didn't get a lot of chances the lightning were as good as they were. I'm betting they felt the same thing after game. Five where they were down three nothing after one they thought if they get out of the first period scoreless they're gonna find a way to win We should point out as well. I know or reality of sports and you just deal with them. But all that without anders lee a remarkable achievement for the For the islanders at various times that we've talked plenty about mathew barzal. We've talked about ryan pool ach And the shot. Eller talked about adam. Pelech you know the emerging you know Sneaky norris trophy candidate Whose names should pop up on some ballots. Who else stood out for you from this. Entire islanders not justice series against tampa but from the entire run as far back. As you wanna go maybe even into the regular season who jumped out for you mayfield. And not just because of everything that happened in game six. I just think that scott mayfield as come from. You're you're almost disrespecting him by saying nowhere but nowhere to become a really effective player a really good player. Nobody thought he would be what he's turned into and he's turned into a heck of a player. I think mayfield would be that guy for me. I think beauvillier is a really improved player. But i if. I had to say one person i would say mayfield. So what now then for the new york. Islanders number of unrestricted free agents The trade deadline guys cow paul travis. Travesty jack a mainstay on the fourth line. In cases ezekiel unrestricted. Free agent there as well We talked about mentioned. Andy greene a couple of moments ago. He's a ufa some restricted Including ilias sarokin pollock Anthony pavilion michael cole. What happens now with the islanders. Well i called lula morello earlier on saturday. He told me everything he was to do. Starting with who's getting q. Oh yeah that sounds like glue for sure. So what are you saying. He told me every step of the way. Think you've ever said on this podcast. Great so there's some people who drove off the road hearing that. Well i look at this way. I would be surprised if they didn't have a good idea. Sarokin a restricted free agent right. Yes and after. He came over from russia. I would be very surprised if they didn't have a decent idea of what his second contract was going to look like. So that's one thing to me. The most important guy you have to deal with is paddock. He's a restricted free agent with our bright. He's one year away from unrestricted free agency. He's.

"Awful. You mentioned although the the players on this team and you go from you know kucherov. Two point to sara lee and stamkos etc. Right down to. Ross coleman like the thing that i love about tampa and do with all their men as well even like man erik. Cernak has a very definite end deliberate role on this team mike. Everybody has something that they do right like. Everybody has a job there like a bunch of worker dogs and they all have their assignment and they do it like. It's a marvel. And i'm building this up like david versus goliath. Your house montreal going to do this but the more you see tampa the more. You can't help but just being flat out impressed with this squad it'd be a good final. I'm really going to enjoy it. I i. i'm really looking forward to this final. Just make it go long. I would hate for it to get to this point. Because how hockey would this be elliott to get to this point only to see a sweep like i don't want to give this mantra. It's not going to be a sweet. I know i hope. It's i hope it's i just don't want this. If this mantra canadians story is going to end in the final. And they don't make. I will sleep for a week and guell jammies of his a sweep leading the gravity of that just sinking for one second away. Do you think. I was gonna listen to that garbage. Podcast tweeted of course. I'm split because i'd love to see you do that for two. I don't want this to end and a hockey fashion like the hockey story for the stanley. Cup playoffs is you can get to the final as an underdog but generally are not gonna win just because it is such a grind and by the time you get there. You're as an underdog you're just exhausted because you're not quilt built for the stanley cup final. Whatever that means. It's just the history of hockey. I just hope that it doesn't end now. If it does for the montreal canadians either way. I just hope this one is a long series And with that will kick it off. Elliott's all set. I'm all warmed up. "To me. Kucherov health is a is a huge factor over the series. Can't he continued to play in the pain. I think he's in he. You see tempests interesting to me. Because i agree with you. They'll play anywhere you want and when you look at the team that perhaps did that better than any team in the history of the league. Elliott's that's the early eighties new york islanders. And the thing that would frustrate you playing. That islanders team is they would let you decide what kind of game you wanted to play. And then they would beat you at it. Tampa is like that. But the islanders did it on route to four stanley cups. Tampa's going for its second right now and you can make the case that in the salary cap era. Maybe two equals four when you look at how you need to manage your nickels and dimes. Please no jokes. Hoping seventeen million dollars over the salary cap and maybe that does equal four stanley cups of the islanders. But do they not remind you of that team that allender squad that if you wanna play tough we're cool. You wanted to play skill. we're good to one. That's a sixty five while that's us too. Does this tampa teams seemed like the early eighties. Allender elliott friedman yeah. I think that's a great comparison. I mean i don't know if they'll have as many people make the hall of fame as that. Islander team did billy smith pot van. Bosse try jay clark gillies and a lot of. I don't know if there's going to be five hall of famers from this team. But i think they're really good. It's not even their stars really. I mean they stars obviously points been really good scoring nine games in a row. But i think a lot of their other guys have been phenomenal. Mcdonagh mcdonagh's hardly and other guy. I think he's been really good. I think that gourd line has been terrific. I think Calor has been excellent. I said this last night. If montreal wins the stanley cup they earned it this no fluke and this will be the toughest challenge they face but they could do it. Everyone's going to say. It's an upset of montreal beads tampa bay. I'm not convinced of that anymore as long as montreal sticks to their recipe disciplined. Make it hard to get through the neutral zone. Make it hard to get to the net. Price stays sharp and they beat you with their elite level goalscorers when the opportunity comes as long as they stay with their recipe. It's not an upset if they beat tampa bay. I'm just going to throw some natural now. That is just all about my eyeballs and no research whatsoever really irresponsible of me to do this but here we go. does it. Not seem like montreal forces moreso things than any other team in the playoffs. Was it you who texted me that the other night. Yes it was. I couldn't remember who texted me that the other looks to me like de force more icing xlt now might have just been in that one previous series against vegas vegas got more and more frustrated and had to change their strategy and it was more stretched. Passes in that led to the icing. I don't know all i know is montreal. Plays a system. that is so frustrating and suffocating. That one of the byproducts has to be one a you know icing because you're not going to convert on your stretch passes and be that leads to offensive zone starts for the montreal canadians faceoffs rate next to your net minder like they are right now and incredibly tough team to play against the question is can they hold that structure in that style together playing against this potentially explosive tampa bay team which can score not just quickly elliott but they can score suddenly like. How many times have you heard announcer say and suddenly tampa scored two goals and suddenly a minute. Forty eight lakers tampa scored three goals. That's the thing about tampa. Is they force you to to abandon your structure unless we saw that now one blow at game against the islanders there are few if any more button down teams in the new york islanders and tampa was able to get to them to read. The question is can montreal hang onto their structure long enough to start frustrating the tampa bay lightning and even then when you consider how much this tampa bay team has gone through. I don't know the you can frustrate them. I give you seen signs of frustration. Can plus they've wine right. They've wine so they know that there's ups and downs like they've done both though like they've had horrible losses losing a columbus away the that a couple years ago. they've had stanley cup victories. They've had appearances in the stanley cup. Final two they. They've gone through so much this group with all these four players. Sure you mix around the fringes. That's that's a given. I don't know that when you have. I type of experience and that type of both winning and losing you can even frustrated team like the tampa bay to say nothing about the coach. Now who's going into his third stanley cup. Final in jon cooper. I don't know man. This is a this is the toughest has from montreal period in the most obvious statement. You'll hear all podcast. I totally agree. I think tampa has to be the favourite and they are the favourite montreal's odds plus two thirty was what i saw when the series. That's a good long shot bag and you know what to be honest like i said i don't even think it's that much of a long shot if you just said it if they play their system and that's what i said too if they stick to their identity and continue to be islanders extra strength now to me. It's not an upset if they win this. I think the kucherov thing is so important. I actually wondered now that he played game seven. Would there be any chance. Tampa would sit him. Maybe forgive one or two now. I'm not talking that based on any knowledge. I'm talking that based on what i saw. Okay so and and we all saw the same thing about kucherov who did not look like you know. Laser beam nikita kucherov in game seven. It was a much different player. So are you suggesting that. Perhaps since games one and two are in tampa tampa does is keep him out until they quote unquote really need him like give you hold them up from game one and you win while you've won. There's no point in playing him game two if you need. I don't agree with that louis. Then you're talking him being out for a week right yes. I don't know. I don't know i don't know what injury the injury is. It's a rib. I'm pretty sure it's a rip you know. I have to say you know. There was a whole huge battle. I said on fridays podcasts. Yeah there was a whole huge battle about where he actually got hurt. I believe it's the rib. Have you ever had a rib injury. Yes you know every time you breathe. You're reminded you have a rib injury. It is awful. That's why when. I had a rib injury. I just didn't breathe..

"And he's making. I think ten or eleven million dollars so i i think i've been for a while because we can have been bashing ben a lot and you keep bashing been if you want to. That's up to you. But i'm going to back off on bashing ben because i hope that this move to center going to help him and you know maybe realize its full potential. He's seventeen better seventeenth. What salary okay. That's still pretty high. And he is the highest paid dallas. Start knowing it might actually like a hundred thousand higher. Okay so but still i. I think a layoff jamie benn for a little bit and i think he's played excellent the past two weeks especially he. He's starting to contribute offensively more yes. He only had two goals and two assists in thirteen games. But we talk about the cap hit in. That's always focused on we. We don't know what's going on behind the scenes in how he's leading this team or the other things that he's doing you know physically. He is dominating. You don't have to pay. I'm million dollars for that. As you say your head. You're not paying nine million dollars for that. So i'm saying need. Let's tom galati on here and see what he says. Hey tom we're spending nine and a half million dollars on a player on your captain feel about that. So i'm gonna jump off of that for for a little bit but anyways Like we started on face off in. We somehow ended on with demon. Been anyways back to face offs in this game Tonight the stars completely dominated the face off circle even better than the blackhawks did on tuesday. So we won fifty eight percent of the faceoffs compared to forty two percent for the chicago blackhawks so that that needs to be a staple in the stars game and especially when You know we're on special teams either in the offensive zone or in the defensive zone and that showed in this game.

"Things have not been going well for the Blackhawks of late they drop another one of the predators, and yesterday they get shut out. Three Nothing hawks out. Shoot the predators 41 21, But Dylan Strome in the team couldn't get one in the net. Lots of chances tonight just couldn't score. Um, thought I played pretty well as a line of suits and Janni and lots of good chances and playing the ozone a lot. So it's frustrating, but back at it on Tuesday that's on the return home to face the Dallas Stars. Chris Bones pregame starting at 6 30 got Tuesday night right here,

"Of entertaining game in the end the Blackhawks good on them for fighting back, But just a couple of bad breaks, actually on three of the goals that got past Kevin Lincoln and tonight when you think about it, the 2nd 3rd and 4th Just all of them involving some some bouncing pox or deflections or whatnot, or in the case of the final goal, Troy, where he makes the initial stop after it redirects off of his teammate. But then it was a race between Pfosten and Duncan Key to get to that rebound. Fast was the one who got it. Got it past Lincoln. Yeah, This is a tough one. Just especially the way it was. It wasn't a good start. They were getting outplayed, and you just kind of wondered how big the damage would be. But Lincoln and was great. Um, it just couldn't make that last save. And, well, he actually did make the last save on that was a good one, because that needed longer legs and arms to scoop up the river, But he just He was not a position because of the shot that went off the stick. And then the chest of Calvin Don made a great save there but wasn't in a position to try and Get into, you know, into the middle of the Net. T o Deter the shot from Pfosten Duncan. Keith He he wasn't expecting to react to that as well. So that was just a real tough break, and Carolina made their own breaks in this one. But I love the way the Blackhawks battled in this game. They battled hard to come back in it. They're down to nothing. They gave up that lead a game. Strong tied it up. They had some really good opportunities. They were forcing the Carolina Hurricanes to defend and that's what they wanted to do. Finally, I think that they understood how they needed to play in that the sense of urgency that came into the into This game for the Blackhawks. They could use that to their advantage going into the weekend game against the national predators who are going to play a high pressure game like this, but heartbreaker for for the Blackhawks to battle their way back into this one against a really good team and not get a point and

"Blackhawks follow the Detroit Red Wings 5 to 3 here at the United Center tonight in the opener of this weekend, back to back us go through the highlights of this one. The Blackhawks were controlling play for much of the opening half of the first period. But Detroit got to rush the other way. They had a guy who get past a couple of black Hawks defenders along the boards and Senate it for one, Nothing. Detroit Lee put it off the end boards over to Dick Kaiser along the left wing side, and he made a ring quite passed a fabric into the Hawks only runs into a hip check from Eudora, but got through it. Put it out in front. Ryan shoots and scars on the red Wings Draw first blood A great individual effort there by Robby Fabbri to get past that check from j'adore off and set up Brian for a point blank chance. One. Nothing. Detroit. Yeah, Fabri doing some good effort and dirty work along the boards there for the primary assist. Hey, got a pass from Daddy to Kaiser for Ryan's sixth of the year at the 10 27 mark. That was the only scoring of the first period even though some of the numbers were definitely in the Blackhawks favor except the most important ones. They have shot Detroit, 13 to 7 in that opening frame. This was a game that we were anticipating. The Patrick Kane could make some history as he was one goal away from 400 early on the second period, he had one of two prime chances on the night. Years, helm with it right point Senate across the rink picked up by Patrick Kane. He'll drop it a Murphy near Corner hot zone. He'll drive the puck behind the net up the left wing side to bring it out. Let's to Sutor on two on one break over the wing line that cane right circle a shoots club savings made by Bernier. Two great opportunities and that wasn't the best of them. As you will hear a little bit later on during the course of our highlight, but still down one nothing with a little over six minutes to go in that second period, the Blackhawks able to even things up, Senator Hawkwind on poke checks it away, and few suitor will take the park back in the hot zone. Given a boat question for over that two to Han Bank Pass had to break in on a break away with the win line. You should.

"So maybe going forward their weeks maybe there's some things L. personnel wise. They're they're gonNA change going or now everybody's healthy. It'll be interesting to see you know what Ryan Craig does with them on the power play going forward. But that's just one thing for me. If I'M GONNA throw my analysis in there, I would wanna see re Max Patty back in that right circle. On that power play and then the other thing put mark stone back on the goal line the way that they had cody glass early let him open up and be a playmaker. Just. That's my two cents. No, it makes sense. Stones Passing Vision are obviously top level think. Nights you gotta try to take advantage of that as much as possible. The other thing that really stood out. Both this series and obviously last night was just. Some puck management decisions some bad turnovers by the nights. That's what really led to. A lot of the goals for the Blackhawks. Yesterday, I mean, the third goal especially, Nate Schmidt turns it over in the defensive zone, and then all of a sudden Patrick Kane is wide open one on one in front of Robin Liner, which is just obviously a losing situation for the nights and those are the things that you know as we kind of go through all the things they did well, the take away from that because all of. A. Sudden they are up you know I believe were there might have been tied to to at that point in the blackhawks retook the lead three two nights had done so many things well to kind of a race to deficit and get themselves back into that game, and then you have a sloppy turnover, all of sudden the blackhawks are in the lead again, and it's kind of what we talked. We've talked about before with this team of. With the depth and with the kind of lineup strength, they have top to bottom if they don't beat themselves, they're really hard to beat and we still I think saw some instances in this game of the nights you know having some self inflicted wounds that ultimately held them back. That's something they need to really strive to prevent because kind of the blackhawks players are obviously very skilled, but the skill level is only increase moving forward in the postseason. Yeah, it's funny like I have my list of things you know like what would Points things takeaways from. The series and all that sort of stuff in the one negative was especially the turnovers that was the one I had the big star next to and sad phase and all that sorta stuff because that was that was the glaring. Glaring negative that was that was what like you said, it kept the Blackhawks in in the series in in a lot of regarded kept them in some of those games. I feel like he kept them in game two, it allowed them to. Be Opportunistic, it allowed them to. Play kind of a conservative style which I thought was interesting that the blackhawks sort of chose to play that way I would have thought going into the series that they would try to open it up charted trade chances making a game like they did in November when they won I, think it was five three and and Patrick Kane was stretching the defense and they kept off wing you know high in the defensive. Zone in and really kind of tried to stretch that neutral zone. We didn't see a whole lot of that and I think some of it was those games were tight and they were close in the blackhawks felt like, hey, all we gotta do is jump on a mistake. The same way we did against Edmonton because they keep feeding them to us and I thought once the nights sort of cut that out in. And we're able to focus on the blackhawks skill. You know those are the moments that they really seem to take control of the series. So going forward I mean like you said, the teams are only GonNa get better. The Games are only to get more intense maybe you chalk up some of these turnovers to. Roster just not being sharp early on in the playoffs I. Don't know you know maybe we're far enough into it now that that can't be an excuse anymore and their timing, and all of that should be there. By definitely going forward that's the one thing if you're a coach. You'RE GONNA, throw up on the video and say, Hey, we gotta get this. Out of our game, I'm showing those clips and I'm saying this unacceptable. Remy Mark Stone mentioned it last night when they forced the Blackhawks to actually have to go two hundred feet to try to score on the blackhawks largely couldn't, and that just speaks to kind of the strength of the nights kind of structure when they're able to set up and all that stuff. So know if they can cut down the turnovers they. Are. Awfully. Awfully difficult to break down. We'll see whether their next opponent is going to be able to break the men. We'll see who their next opponent will be later on this week as a reminder, the nights options in the second round, our Arizona who once again might be eliminated actually by the time you're listening to this by Colorado but they would. Kind of the first choice if they do end up coming back from a three, one whole against the Avalanche Calgary, which is down three two to Dallas. would be next up if they manage to win the final two games. Of Their series and then kind of last option if. Both Arizona and Calgary are ultimately eliminated would be the winner of the Vancouver Saint Louis Serious both those opponents I would be pretty interesting match ups for the Golden Knights. Probably more audio goodness for you guys win that matchup is announced so we can preview it..

"In the game and all these guys are productive despite the fact that you know a lot of their linemates are either not in the lineup or banged up. Paul. stazzone was hurt for part of the series any missed two games Max Patriarchy missed one game and the other I three games he played in this series games one, three and four. He basically admitted that they were not the best games of his career. He didn't look like himself yet. He looked like a guy frankly hadn't played a competitive hockey game in five months, which, of course was true of him because he. was. Injured in training camp. Gosh. The bubble late had to self quarantine and couldn't appear in the exhibition or any of the Round Robin? Games. And then patron he comes back in scores goal it has an assist in game five to finally get on the board. So you know some mixed results from the top six Dave some starring performances, some guys that are still clearly kind of finding their group here in the postseason. So I guess, what does it say about the nights that they were able to move on rather easily despite the varying performances from the top six in do you expect even more from these guys moving forward? Yeah. I do let me I'm going to answer the question a little bit differently in in what I wanNA point out is. Is Much as. You know these guys were out in and they didn't have standing for the entire series and they didn't have Patrick obviously. At one hundred percent. The nights I, guess quote Unquote Stars. Really outperformed the blackhawks stars in the series for the most part Patrick Kane had three assists game in in and their star showed up last last night in. Game Five. Scored Cain scored they did their best but you know tastes had one goal in the series Kane had one goal in the series. Kubo leak I think had one debrincat had to have been quiet the whole time. One of them was an empty net goal. The nights did a really good job on the blackhawks stars, and then like you said, Riley Smith John at the march. So mark don't you know the nights guys were in the lineup that that they needed to lean on contributed and yeah, I do going forward you you would expect knocked Patrie to play better and if they're going to settle on a top six of you know Patty Carlson Stone. And then Marcha. So stazzone Smith. Those guys need a little bit. You know some game time developed a little bit of the chemistry get that back because guys have been in and out of the lineup in I do think it bodes well, you know that that they were able to find up plug guys in you got challenge Stevenson going from the first line to the fourth line you know one game to the next I mean I don't know how many teams have guys that can do that that have that sort of versatility i. Think you know as we talked about earlier in the show all that debt thin in that sort of stuff was really what separated the nights from the Blackhawks in this series and yeah, the Knights going forward. They're going to need Max to look like he did last night and produce like he did last night you know checking out of Mark Stone and William Carlson was a contributory you feel like if if they get the same type of contribution from Raleigh Smith Jonathan March so in healthy Pastas, Ni. They're going to match up with anybody they're going to be a tough team. You know for anybody to figure out who am I gonNA put my shutdown power against whom I going to put my shutdown line against I mean other coaches have to look at the tape and look at them and go. Yeah. That's you know this is tough for us. It's it's a little bit of pick your poison. No totally, you know another guy that I should throw in the mix. There has been Shaffi at or even though we were talking about forwards just because you know he's got two goals against the Blackhawks. He had three points is a really strong series for him and he continues to emerge as a force for this team. So we have some really good top level performances by the knights but I think there's even more to offer for that top group and we'll see if they're able to do it against. Whoever they end up facing a last thing that I wanNA talk about reflecting back on the series is You know like what stood out to you in kind of more of a negative way I think the big one that comes to mind for me early is the power play ultimately finishes one for ten. They get a really nice goal last night to kind of help them close out the series. Riley Smith has just incredible scene pass across his own to set up Alec Martinez for a one timer. But other than that, you know the power play wasn't generating offense nate Schmidt thought it got a lot better in game four where they are peppering Corey Crawford in his couldn't seem to find. A Finnish but was there anything? That you know suggested that are this isn't quite clicking the way it's supposed to be or was it even just a case of you now guys like Patrick weren't one hundred percent yet In terms of the power player just overall power play. So. Okay. Here's my hang up. I'm going to go back and I'm going to look at the numbers on. This is going to be a research project for me all right I disagree with the Knights decision to have patch already on the left side. Of their power play, he came back last night. They had marked stone on the right and him on the left I think Max. Patrick is better on the right circle in that right office and camped out there and I would argue without having the numbers to back it up that their power play was better during the regular season when he was in that spot. Rather than on the left hand side with Mark Stone and or Jonathan March. So there that's just kind of the if I'm going to be a a armchair coach in critique in whatever that's one thing that I would change Now as far as the numbers and whatever I guess you know partly to there's some credit the blackhawks to get because we about you know if the start of the series only previewed it, there is a little bit of inversion here in terms of you know strength on strength special teams wise know. Golden Knights had a pretty good power play in the regular season with the Blackhawks had a pretty penalty kill. So, maybe some of that was them maybe after give a little credit than obviously at least like you mention one of the Games was their best penalty killer.

"Right so tonight Blackhawks lightning lighting looking to break the three game losing streak fell they got some injuries now there's not a dealer to pile up a bit well was it stamp goes memory foam is out because his wife is expecting a baby which is the big deal yeah it it'll make him better to that's not easy getting treated during the regular season in G. T. Miller a couple years ago that was during the playoffs I think she had right she had the baby and yachting court to the right place you know this kid it's not easy to move number one but I have a wife that ready to give birth on top things mentally it's tough for them to get close so what everything you know the call backup Mitchell Stephens with Todd glad about this how did this kid gives every bit of energy that he has and I love watching them play then this is a game I think the lightning rod feel about those days you can lose three of four games in a row they've lost three in a row you got to stop it you gotta stop it right now and I I think if you want to look at the silver lining if there is one losing three in a row last year they said you know we we got away with some bad habits and were able to win and sometimes it's not cute attention more if you have that email eight four three elves in a row and I guess I'm I'm maybe reaching for the silver lining here but I'd like to believe that this has their attention they know they need to be better defensively they know that the special teams both power play penalty right this is gonna need to be better they'll see if they're able to execute I guess the good part of this is number one they have a cushion as they had a great ride I never do they've really got nineteen games left in the regular season the to get the game back on track yeah the truth is when you win games like I thought they won games without winning streak of eleven games in a row where Vasilis he was just outstanding and when the game for but then I also thought that they played very very well in a lot of those games another plane I thought they played pretty well in Colorado I mean sometimes you got to give credit to the opposition really good team real evenly played game and I didn't think he played bad the first all the Vegas and then things fell apart I didn't see the Arizona game I think they actually had a pretty good first period until the very end of the game two quick goals and that did it and then the bottom fell out well what we're also seeing in addition to the defense of problems special teams turnovers I was a lot of talk about interviewed by Korean like so you really pinpoint that the total he said yeah you willing the opposition attack any deals that's correctable but the other part is this allowing a goal right after you have scored it's three games in a row now they've tied the game it within a minute one sixty one seconds will say within a minute the other team has scored to take the lead back for good for good like they they got the lead they never relinquished one all year you've been saying this well when they were winning games they were doing well David date that's right one engine but the after.

I think the jury is going to be happy with the way that a lot of guys played in this game and certainly guys. one thing that Germany is talking about Stan Bowman is talked about is finding that separation between the players looking for the competition in a preseason and training camp but I I think you saw some separation from some of the offense of players in this game and they're doing what they're supposed to be doing some some good signs and wonders that three quick get games here all of the role of the last one at the United center which will be fun for everybody to get back at the United center in a a real atmosphere great fan festival of twenty thousand people there but you know once you get into the pre season a little bit more at stake of the fan festival so yeah I think you'll see a lot of new faces in the lineup tomorrow but some other guys that that played Mr some guys that play this game tonight will also be on the line up and I think that the you know those guys that are you looking to see what their strong points are their assets worth stepped up and did what they were supposed to do we'll be at little Caesar's and Detroit tomorrow night we'll have it for you right here on the same air waves and looks so find out what we're going.
