That is insane. Last year, I could have done that if I wanted to, because I did lose my job in 2020. But I was just like I would rather work for my money. And I don't really know why did that Because it wasn't really trying to be principled. I just didn't I just didn't want the government to just give me money and you know, looking back. It's like because it's my money. You know, I think like that, But then I'm like, Well, the government's going to give that money away anyway. So if I can, if you know, if you take that $600, and you invest it in something like Bitcoin or Cryptocurrency, then you could actually grow that and you're going to be better set off and you can say Hey, thank you, Government. You did something well for me if I knew about crypto Well, I actually knew about crypto for years, but I just didn't really I thought was something like, Oh, that's way too. To get into so like up until like, I don't know. Later in the year was the first time I ever got nanny and it was just like, um, I just got it. I didn't like, go get it myself. So I would have had no idea how to do that. I find that most people that talk about Cryptocurrency especially Bitcoin, because that's the big one that they know about. They assume that you have to buy one entire Bitcoin there like there's no way that I can afford $33,000. That's one thing I did think I was like. Oh, so you can just get Exactly. Yeah, I've made my first Bitcoin purchase. I don't remember the year but it was, um, $500 per Bitcoin at the time, and it was well, it wasn't for me. It was to pay a ransom to a company that had packed one of my clients. Well, they weren't actually my client. I was just they became my client Exactly. But I had no idea what I was doing. It involved sending money via Western Union to tell Aviv Israel and it was just a very convoluted now what you paid it. Did they actually release whatever they were doing? Did you get your files back? That's also because I won't always wondered about that. Because people computer customers were like, Hey. This is happening. I'm like, Just consider yourself done way. Pay it way back in the day when rest somewhere. First started taking off. They were honorable, and they would actually be clipped your pals if you paid them because billion if well, if it got out that you know if you paid them, you still wouldn't get your stuff back then no one would ever pay the exactly. That's a good point. So it work to their benefit to actually be honest and release people stuff. But then a lot of copycats came in and they didn't have that little. They even had a helpful tech support site. It was It was the strangest situation I've ever been. You can't get your files because we've stolen them. Go here. Well, they didn't put it that way right there like hey, we encrypt your your fouls to protect them. That's how they owe its protection. I get it it was like, but to decrypt them. You have to pay this amount of money. But the because of how Bitcoin fluctuates. I mean, it was even doing it back then. They wanted basically $500 in a Bitcoin. But by the time we actually acquired the Bitcoin, and we're able to send it, it was only worth like $487 or whatever. So I was sent them a message like Hey, Got them on a Bitcoin, but it's no longer the correct amount. They're like, Okay, just send it on and will decrypt. You know, it's so funny because I bought something on the dark Web once, and that was the case, and I was like, Hey, um, my Bitcoin has gone down. The guy was like, If you send me that he's like I know it's not over the website. But if you send me that I'll send you the product and I was like, Okay, cool and he did like it was accurate. He did exactly what he said he was going to do. It's a Bitcoin was $500, then it's probably so much now exactly. Yeah, Whatever you sent. Nowadays, the average company would be able to afford point as a ransom. But about 1.8 million out of work. Well, a lot of things we've been sort of centered around Cryptocurrency and Blockchain technologies. And since we were I liked to highlight more people. Accepting Cryptocurrencies, particularly businesses, right? It's one thing for like. You know, I'm a babysitter and I take Bitcoin or, you know, I'm a one man handyman and I take Bitcoin. It's one thing for like the one person shops to accept Bitcoin. Or any other Cryptocurrency, but this from Bitcoin dot com US convenience store chain sheets. That's S H e T Z. To accept Cryptocurrencies for payments. Now I'm not familiar with this particular chain. But Ian, you said, you have some familiarity. I personally have never seen this chain. But I am aware that it exists because our former co host Chris Redman, who I am prohibited from speaking with by the terms of my bail conditions. Sadly, he's the co founder of the Bitcoin Embassy, And he also is the founder of the Mighty Moose part, which is, uh, convenience store here in Keene. And he grew up. I think in an area or at least spend a lot of his life in an area where these sheets stores were, so he was very familiar with the quality level of them. He was very impressed with how they are. They operate. Um, you know, from a business aspect, how they present their product and all that. And so I think that they, um There's a lot of influence from the sheets brand as far as how he launched his own personal conveniences. I heard I heard a lot about you know the sheets business model as he was kind of telling us all about what his plans were for Marine use smart, so they seem to be a pretty like technologically savvy company like with online ordering of food, like if you want to order a sandwich or something like that right thing. So on May, 27th sheets revealed the company will be accepting crypto payments via the digital payments Network flex to have never heard of them before, but I will look into them further on my own time. The company sheets is headquartered in Altoona, Pennsylvania. It operates 622 convenience stores and coffee shops in Ohio, Virginia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Maryland. 622 convenient stories. That is, That's a lot. Nope. Um, so I'm hoping that sheets here is going to be accepting some alternatives to Bitcoin like maybe just point cash or going to buy a lot of coffee. To make it worth. Yeah, I will take a tanker of coffee. Please. Just roll over the CAG of coffee, please. Uh, so Sheets noted in its announcement that the firm aims to quote provide customers with the ability to pay for items inside the store or fill up their cars, Trucks and RVs at the pump. Yeah, using digital currencies like Bitcoin, If they're light coin does point and more Now, that's interesting, like, how are they going to do the Phillips? Because most gas stations they want you to pre pay right? They don't trust that you're going to not drive away after filling up the tank. So with a credit card when you swipe the card, they've already got all your authorization information. If you drive away, they still you know, they get they get sale. Otherwise usually have to walk in and hand them cash, and then they authorized the pump. And then you can go up to the amount of the cash that you put in. How are they going to do that? With crypto? Are they going to are you going to pre pay the crypto amount and then receive crypto back? If so, that's complicated. Uh, I'm curious to know how that's going to pan out. What are they going to do to implement this? A good question. I worked in convenient stores for a period of time in my life. Was an assistant manager to large gas and diesel and racing fuel type thing. Couple of car washes and that kind of thing, Um, the way so this is all like. You know, sort of the advent of debit cards. So, like people could just pull up to the pump, pump their gas and then drive off. Yeah, there was no so what they would do around as it were gas and go. Yeah. Uh, what they would do is they would just shut off the pumps at the end corner. So if there's a you know how there's always a roof, sort of above the pumps to keep the rain from falling on you. The most frequent gas and go pumps were the ones at the end, the closest to all four corners, the ones most able, right quickest getaway kind of thing. So they would disable those after, say, nine PM 10. PM whatever Got dark, Okay? And so if people wanted to use that pump They'd get out of their car. They would put the nozzle in the gas tank. And then they press the button to call the attendant. And then you have to just stay back to of this pump is pre pay after 10 o'clock or whatever it is so then you make them come in and pay. But the question still remains. How does the you know? I mean, how do you pre pay with crypto? It could be done. Uh, just so when you pay from Cryptocurrency wallets if it's if it's not Manero Which is total privacy, and then you don't know much about you know how those transactions went. But if you pay with Bitcoin cash or dash than the receiver knows, from whom it's comfort, you know the wallet address source so they could just return the change to your to your wallet. I mean, that's that's doable. Oh, yeah, I guess. Yeah, that's do, they would have to be the payment provider. That makes that a feature incorrect there pls integration or the gas pump or whatever. And I would love to see that be a thing. That would be amazing. But it would require the customer to pre pay upfront so would be basically the equivalent of a cash payment..

Nf are an interesting phenomenon because it takes the idea of a collectible which used to be this thing that you would put on a shelf angelic dust it and you look at it and you know if you had a nice collection you might have your friend or somebody come over and you'd say look at my collection and their friend would say wow and now you've got this digital thing that you can say look i've got the number one release of This new album a digital version. And now it's like okay. Well it's not it seems even less meaningful to me. So i mean you could be watching crop with with your friend and pointed a character and be like i own him. Yeah i was like oh looks. Crunchy the cat him. But you don't use mine but but you don't own him okay. So here's an example of human madness so stocks So now there are stocks that give you dividends and there are stocks that let you vote on what the company does and then their stocks do neither of those things and i have no idea why people own those but they really care about you have an example of one of those because i can think of one or the other but not one. That doesn't have either of those characteristics. I'm pretty sure there are stocks. Do neither of those well. Here's what i'm just asking if you know of. But here's what collections due to collect dust for the most part and then you die and then your relatives have to deal with it. They've got a whole room of crap that you've collected for your whole life and you know what they're gonna do with it. Probably sell it at for pennies on the dollar at an estate sale or that person buying those collectibles beloved them when they buy them like. I got a copy of batman number one from this garage sale man. That's awesome right. Yeah now you can just do that in the digital world. That's great but you know. And i don't know the statement there's some sort of statement about you know when when you have too many things they own you basically so i. I like the value of of getting rid of things. I like the quaker model of simplicity. And simplifying your life and having less stuff. And i think that's Sort of the opposite of what they're aiming for here is like with collectibles of any kind part of what you're doing is anchoring yourself Which is it's something that can give people a sense of continuity and mean like this is who i am right and like you gain a sense of continuity among other things from being part of this and what free talk live can you know can mean to the world and what it's done and what it could be in the future that gives you a sense of continuity. It's not the only thing i'm sure. But that's one of the ways that you get this sense of being a part of the flow of time And for some people that what they do for that is here. Is this collection. Could you could watch from like one door to the other kind of like a hoarder situation where literally the entire roof. She'd worked for many many years. That at burger king in had literally collected them all and more than one of them. But it wasn't even in a way that you could. You know appreciate them. They were all there. And it's just. I don't know i'm not a huge fan of collections As you might be able to tell so. Nf take collections and it takes them in a completely different direction. Now you have this digital thing you can't even meaningfully display it in any way shape or form but it still meanings means something to the person who owns. That's not necessarily true really i. Understanding of tease is like for example. Kevin smith is making a movie that will exist only as an nfc and then he will sell it so only one person will get to receive. This movie is one person will be the owner of the nfc. That person can choose to just keep the movie to themselves and only they get to watch the movie and they never share it with anybody else or they could choose to have a bunch of friends over and watch the movie or they could choose to broadcast it only at like a local drive in theater or they could license the movie themselves to other outlets to broadcast in like other movie theaters if you wanted to. Does the person pay in advance for this movie. Not having seen it sight unseen that you're buying mood in this. In this instance. Well yeah. I mean you. You couldn't have a bunch of people that have already watched the movie that would trailer right like you can have. You could say this movie. I'm going to make or am. That would be a violation of your right to privacy when it comes to various different medical maladies that one might have. And it's none of anyone else's business so the deal with this is to just tell people you're medically exempt and then go about your business if they want to kick you store what did i say. They're not law enforcement and and then not sworn that never been to an academy but they've got a ticket book and they can go up and basically harass individuals that we have a bunch of exemptions like medical exemptions for one and what they're doing is they're going up to these people with medical exemptions. They're harassing them in a costing them trying to get them to show them their medical exemption which i think is totally illegal. Don't you guys think yeah. Hippo is the law. You wanna work up look look up. I'm not so sure about that. Well they're going up to people and trying to tell them that they have to show them their medical attention which i'm under the impression that number one. This isn't even an actual police officer. This is a basically department made up by the city in order to collect revenue. There probably would have to be as specific law in order to like a driver's license. You know in specific case of a driver's license. You have to show your id. But if the person's not being licensed and we're not being licensed. I presumed that you wouldn't have no reason to be obligated or show anything. You don't even my response would be. I'll turn around and show you my vertical smile. But that's all you guys. I mean what. I would have to even respond to these people. Well what they do is they threatened police intervention. If you don't if you walk away or joe example is with a couple of kids. But i think i would guess for something like a tesla vehicle that you know the amount you're gonna pay for one of those makes things like the The fees sort of it. Oh okay that's reasonable. If you're going to spend forty thousand on up on a vehicle you know the network fee the transaction fees. You know as high as they get. Sometimes when bill clinton's flying it what is it today. They don't actually creation. They don't actually have radiation or whatever. My question to you is well. What about this largest nuclear meltdown. Or they must publicized in world history. You haven't looked into that. No no i i listen to. I'm just saying. I haven't the reason they would keep up. The hoke is because they want people to think they have nuclear weapon. Okay here's another question is their nuclear. Is there such a thing as nuclear power or is that also hoax. Yes there isn't there. Okay so i wonder if a nuclear meltdown. It releases some heat done. There's no independent japanese people out there. Who would dispute that assertion that it wasn't independently verified as it killed them. Well he saying that wasn't an atomic bomb different from a nuclear weapon. I believe people who died later from radiation poisoning or the people who still having birth defects because of the radiation. There's a whole article written by gentleman online. That goes into all of that I haven't. I'm not an expert. That i can just spout off. What happened it's all documented. Has fakery and the photos and everything that was done You can just search for atomic bomb hoax and you can find out information online about it. survivors scientists. Go ahead so the survivors who talk about radiation poisoning and who in fact died from radiation poisoning or who you know produce. Children had birth defects their government agents. They're making it all up. The media made it up. The media made it. These people exist though. Well yeah but the thing is. There's no such thing as as as nuclear radiation possible that they i mean. It's not impossible that he's right that this is all just a hoax but that these people got themselves sick on their own volition meaning that they manifested all these negative conditions because.

Sure i was much younger. when i got into blockchain. it's been ten years now. But basically i was the first person that had any sort of capital to get excited about this base. I had my own business in silicon valley heard about. Bitcoin dropped everything to start focusing on that. And so i basically funded the entire first generation of bitcoin businesses and back and it was only bitcoin crypto currency was just bitcoin and bitcoin wallet some bitcoin exchanges and so these are companies. That people would have heard of today like a bit pay and cracking in blockchain dot com personnel. Of course then. A lot of people don't know it. I was actually a second person ever involved in in ripple as well so jed michaela came up with the idea and then approached me said he said he said. I think bitcoin mining waste what we can make. It does require mining. Are you willing to fund to make that happen. So i said sure. Let's give that a try. So actually i helped start ripple as well and then a number of other crypto currencies out there and i've been involved in the space a fulltime for almost exactly a decade. Now well. I mean those. That is a great groundfloor. The list of groundfloor is to get in on. I mean people. Talk about warren buffett. I think you might be warren buffett two point in terms of you just get getting great investment. So kudos to you. But if if we're gonna be talking you know right now we got to mention you know you've always been a strong proponent of bitcoin cash andy idea of bitcoin being electronic peer to peer network or peer to peer cash network but the network recently underwent a hard fork was over a mining tax of eight percent essentially a bitcoin. Abc wanted to tax the miners eight percent and and put it into a development fund You were against that and you're actually won by quite a large margin. Talk us through a little bit. Why you're against de-mining tax and kind of get much pushback. I mean it seems like it was overwhelmingly the bitcoin cash amini sided with you in this matter. Yea i initially had a pretty open mind about it. And then i don't think so much. The problem with diverting and there certainly was a problem with it but the minor the only a small part of the problem was diverting part of the block reward to pay for development within the ecosystem. The big part of the problem is who decides. And how did the town. And there wasn't any sort of way to figure that out and that was a real big problem. I think and it just was going to lead to a never ending amount of infighting and the money was gonna wind up going to those the most effective at political lobbying rather than those that we're building the most effective platforms to bring more economic freedom and to the world and more peer to peer trash useful things to the world and i think an example of that is bitcoin dot com and arguably has done a huge amount to bring more people to to crypto currency and bitcoin cash specifically than just about any other website yet. These developers are saying about dot com. Shouldn't get any money. They have the most money already. They don't need it. Well the fact that we already have a bunch of money shows that we've been effective with the resources that we've had available and so that's the problem with with government entities if the government entity does a bad job. They get more money. If a private business does a bad job they get less money and they go out of business. Those resources wind up being allocated people that use it more effectively and was basically bringing central planning in socialism to bitcoin. Cash in the entire point of cryptocurrencies. Let people opt out of those cyncially command in control. The economic systems allow people to be able to do whatever they want with their own money. And so i think it was a really bad idea and it was sad that caused infighting within the cryptocurrency community and the really shocking part. Is that the people that were in favor of this central planning in central diversion of part of the block reward within trying to call the people that were opposed to it. The you know the central planners bitch was the name that they came up with which was a play on bitcoin in bolsheviks i guess but it just seems really strange that People think that that's a good thing but at the end of the day. And i've been saying this since two thousand eleven if something better than bitcoin comes along great if something better than bitcoin cash comes. I'm to promote whatever option. I think has the best chance of bring more economic freedom to the entire world. And that's why i'm so bullish about bitcoin cash as it works for super fast super cheap super liable payments for every single person on the planet. Whether you're young or old rich or poor black or white. It works for everybody right now today. You don't have to wait for some other future. Technology come into existence. Bitcoin cash works today. And that's what has me so excited about it.
